Whirlpool Range Model WFG515S0JB
Purchased a black Whirlpool refrigerator, Gold Series, Model GB2FHDX WB 22 cu ft. with bottom freezer from hhgregg. Within one month I had water on my floor, ice buildup on bottom freezer floor. I had previously reviewed fridge and noise was a concern but I thought I could live with that. I contacted hhgregg. They would do NOTHING, told me to contact Whirlpool. The 1st repairman said it was the ice-maker. I DO NOT have an ice maker. He fixed a duckbill. 2nd call 6 months later, same problem with water, serviceman replaced duckbill. Next year, 2011 same problem with water on floor and ice buildup on freezer bottom floor. After numerous repairmen I contacted Corporate Office of Whirlpool. They sent another repairman at their expense. We are now 6 years later and I am having the same problem. Dont buy a Whirlpool Gold & dont buy from hhgregg.
I purchased a Whirlpool 3-door refrigerator with the freezer on the bottom on 8/17/12. Within 4 days, the ice maker stopped working. It took two days for the repairman to come out and fix it. So all is well with that. Less than 2 weeks later, the refrigerator isnt cooling. Several days later, the repairman came and determined it was the evaporator fan motor and clutch. The parts were back-ordered for 10 days. Parts came in 2 more days before he can come out and install them. He realized they sent the wrong parts. Another week went by, then he came and replaced the fan motor, which is now making an ear-piercing buzzing sound. He came back a week later and said it needed a gasket, which is back-ordered. In the meantime, he put some stick on insulation around the unit. Not much help. Another week went by, and the gasket showed up. It is still making a high-pitched whining sound. He said it was the compressor. Whatever! I hate the refrigerator. The sound is one that just grates on your nerves and you can hear it in all the rooms surrounding the kitchen! A repairman has to deem it unrepairable before they will even consider replacing it. They consider it fixed. What about my bleeding ears! I just want it gone! I am so disappointed. I thought Whirlpool was a good product with a solid reputation. I have a $2300 noise maker! Is there a class action lawsuit?!
I find this to have perfect storage space both in the top for standard refrigerator and the bottom freezer. I would recommend this not for the style, the amount of room but also the quality. I have not been disappointed.
I sold my 4 yr old Maytag and bought the Cabrio 3 yrs ago because of all the manufacturer promising advertising. Its a top load with agitator, but it takes 2 hrs to wash a load and buzzes the entire time. So relaxing coming home and spending my evening listening to this buzz, so loud I have to max out my tv to hear it. With 2 hrs spent washing a load, I can only do one per evening. Whirlpool you owe all of us a replacement or a major discount coupon toward another (50%) if you are worth anything at all. You are scum!
Nice refrigerator. Not enough flexibility in shelving adjustment. Same with compartments on doors, flexibility limited. Freezer design is limited. It is not easy to load the freezer with different items.
I dont recommend this product to anyone. When you try to clean the washer it leaks out the bottom. After 2 years of use it now beeps 9 - 10 times and I have to reset it after each beep to get it to run. Then in the middle of the rinse cycle it does the same thing all over again. What a piece of junk. Plus it does not rinse well at all. Leaves a white residue on my blankets. NOT recommended at all.
Just bought two new Whirlpool water heaters, $469 each. Not impressed. One of the MANY issues: water leaking from the top. Reason: before installing, if you look inside female threads, you may see a rubber gasket (heat loss valve). One of the two heaters of mine was missing one. This showed me what the quality of the joint was like under the gasket. I temporarily removed the other three (two heaters) to confirm what I saw: At the backside of the threads there should be a clean flat landing from which to the male nipple should tighten against (washer in-between). Instead, there is a disaster of a flimsey lip (washer-like) which is torn up and not anything close to flush. Bad Whirlpool! Bad quality control!
I have a combo Microwave oven/oven GMC275PDS07. When the microwave is finished with the requested program, the end of program chime lets you know its done. Then, if the door is not opened for at least 3 seconds, the chime will ring again every minute thereafter ad nauseum. This will go on for hours without end. I know because I tried it. I reached out to Whirlpool via a web chat and my question was not even addressed. I was ignored. From reading other submissions, I assume this is de rigueur for Whirlpool. I then called Whirlpool and spoke to Katie in Tennessee. She was not able to bring up any make or model when I provided her the numbers exactly as listed on the inside of the door. She was not able to provide any respite from this annoying feature. This a Whirlpool Gold model, presumably the top of the line, in my book I will never purchase any Whirlpool product of any type and I will make it a point to let anyone who will listen that Whirlpool is not a manufacturer that takes its customers concerns seriously. Katie then advised that she looked up this feature and told me there is no way to turn the beeping off. I find this amusing since she could not find the model or serial number when I gave it to her.
We purchased a WRS576FIDM refrigerator from HHGregg in August 2015 and immediately had problems with ice maker and door having condensation on it. I contacted Whirlpool who had a tech come to my house and verify problems. Whirlpool replaced it with a new refrigerator in November 2015 and w/in a week it had awful condensation on the outside of the door, dripping onto the floor and pooling water. A tech responded to our house again and confirmed the problem with Whirlpool. Whirlpool advised they would be sending out two new doors for our side to side refrigerator and said we should receive them within 4 to 6 weeks from late November 2015. I asked Whirlpool to send us a different model because this is the second refrigerator of the same model that has the same issues. Whirlpool refused. I have spent countless hours on the phone with Whirlpool, HHGregg, and waiting for service appointments and my patience is getting thin. I just contacted them today 2-9-16 to inquire about my doors since it has been well over the 4 to 6 weeks Whirlpool said it should take to receive them. The Whirlpool rep on the phone had no information about the status of the doors and said that they would have to contact the service company to inquire more about the status of the doors. He also said that under special circumstances, it may take an additional two weeks for certain door orders. I once again requested a different model of refrigerator or a refund.I tried to get HHGregg to allow me to return the 2nd refrigerator just days after I received it since I was having the same issues as the original one I purchased. HHGregg said they could not since the 2nd refrigerator did not come from them. HHGregg said that they did not know why Whirlpool sent me a replacement refrigerator directly and added that normally the returns go through them. I feel like I tried to do the right thing by contacting Whirlpool for warranty work, but I feel that if I would have called HHGregg I would have been able to get a different brand refrigerator which is what I really desire after all these problems with the Whirlpool brand. I did purchase an entire Whirlpool kitchen set from HHGregg. The only problems I am having is with this refrigerator.
In 2008, we purchased a Whirlpool Gas Water Heater from Lowes. Three years later the tank started leaking (this water heater had a 6-year warranty). Per Whirlpools instructions we were to return this one to Lowes for a refund (in hindsight we should have taken the money & went elsewhere to purchase a better brand!). As our plumber was removing the leaking heater we went to Lowes to purchase a new Whirlpool Water Heater upgrading to one with a 12-year warranty hoping that this one would last, it was advertised as the BEST one Lowes sells! After our plumber swapped out the heaters we returned the leaking water heater for our refund (remember this one had a 6-year warranty & only lasted 3 years). This past June (2015) our water heater stopped working, turns out the thermocouple went out which shuts the gas valve off. Called 5 plumbing companies in the Metro Phoenix area, not a single one would work on it! We researched the repair, called Whirlpool & was told that this water heater was out of warranty. Wait a minute! This one has a 12-year warranty & it is only 4 years old! Whirlpool told me that it is a replacement water heater so the warranty for this water heater is only 6 years (from the 2008 date of the purchase of the first water heater). It didnt matter that the replacement water heater was a different model & was more expensive than what was refunded to us. We replaced the thermocouple ourselves & got it going again. Last week it started leaking, called Whirlpool again got the runaround again, called a plumber who replaced it with a new Ruud for $1000.00 (Water heater + Labor). We went back to Lowes to try to get their help resolving this, the store manager said this was a Whirlpool warranty issue. We ended up taking the junk Whirlpool water heater to a recycling facility and getting $2.50 for it. Bottom LINE!! READ THE REVIEWS, THEY ARE TRUE!!! There was a class action lawsuit with a settlement of which I never received a notice for, I read about it online this summer, but it was too late to opt in. Dont waste your money on Whirlpool water heaters, no one will repair them, Lowes wont stand behind the products on their shelves, they get your money & hide behind the manufacturer & Whirlpool has very nice script to get you off of phone! Whirlpool used to be a trusted brand (do your research, I think they are the manufacturer for certain store brands! ). Our new Ruud water heater has a faster recovery than either of the Whirlpools that weve had; the drain valve is brass, not plastic like the whirlpool, it is overall a much higher quality.
We purchased a Whirlpool fridge from Future Shop four years ago. It was delivered by professional movers and we plugged it in and smoke filled the house. We called Future Shop and very soon, another fridge arrived on the back of a pickup truck (no box or papers, etc.). This fridge is slowly ruining our kitchen floor as from time to time, we notice a puddle of water leaking from under the fridge. We called the store a few times but were told its normal for a fridge to do that in hot weather.
Our side by side refrigerator is 2 1/2 years old. The LED lights are not working. Had to call repair service because one cant get into the housing without a service tech No9 normal screw in light bulb to replace 2 burned out light bulbs AND pay for the service call is $475.00. THIS IS HIGHWAY ROBBERY. I would expect to pay for a major repair BUT A LIGHT BULB. DO NOT BUY A WHIRLPOOL REFRIGERATOR WITH LED lights. This is a major flaw in their manufacturing and If they go out again the fridge will go to the landfill.
I bought a Whirlpool refrigerator water filter from the Marcone distributor. This distributor, whose name I received from calling the 800 number in your manual, did not send instructions on installation. I called Whirlpool and they did not have instructions on installation. The product is 4392949. In talking with your customer service department filters, I learned that the young man knew nothing about filters. He told me that the filter that I purchased was the wrong one. Its interesting that he tried to convince me without knowing my refrigerator model number. I asked if he wanted the model number and he said, yes, please. It was very sad how I had to do a song and dance with an idiot. I had no help from your company. I will return this water filter because I was not provided instructions for installation. Neither can your people produce them. For this reason, I will never purchase Whirlpool again.
BFG2F4040T3NIV IS HORRIBLE. This water heater is JUNK. The release valve has released and flooded my basement 3 times in the past 2 years and the recovery time on water is terrible. Whirlpool needs to step up to the plate and refund everyone who purchased one of these. Every review on this unit is horrible. DO NOT PURCHASE a WHIRLPOOL water heater!
Whirlpool Water Heater bought May 2011: Water heater not heating. I called Whirlpool and they stated the equipment is under warranty but not the labor; $137.50 for 1st hour of service. Troubleshooting is a joke. It just doesnt heat. Waiting on the 3 plumbers to call me back. They are busy. Water heater went out Sat morning and Whirlpool doesnt open until Monday. Its Monday at 5pm and Im still waiting on a call back.
I bought an electric range at Lowes. The oven stopped working after 10 months, which means it is still under warranty. A repairman came out twice and put in new parts. He said all had been replaced that could be replaced. I will call him again and see if he can do anymore. I dont think I will buy from Lowe’s anymore and certainly not a Whirlpool.
I purchased a Whirlpool gas stove model #WFG540H0AH from Sears in March 2103. Since that time, the oven has repeatedly broken. After two major repairs, the repair company said the fas venue (?) suspect board was defective and needed to be replaced by the manufacturer. After 3 weeks of back and forth calls with Whirlpool customer service, the only solution they provided was for me to purchase a new stove at a discount with no compensation for installation, the gas connection kit, or haul-away of the old appliance. The original stove cost me $1100 including the installation, haul-away and taxes. The replacement option would have cost me $800 and still did not included haul-away, the gas installation kit, or taxes. Hardly an affordable solution. Whirlpool at no time addressed that a part on the stove was deemed defective.
I have the Whirlpool washing machine for last 15 years and there has not been any complaint since its acquisition. I do a lot of laundry because I have a big family, but not major issue so far. I will recommend this brand to anyone willing to buy a washing machine.
Purchased this Dishwasher on Feb. 28, 2015. In June 2016 about a 2 by 3 inch section of the enamel face on the door rusted and fell off above the air vent. After three hours of hold time between Lowes (with the extended warranty) and Whirlpool (their warranty department) it was determined that this was not covered by either warranty as it was beyond the date of the 1-year mfg warranty and was not covered by the extended warranty (it was only a cosmetic issue). As these calls took place over a matter of 2 days, it was interesting that between day 1 and day 2, Whirlpool had issued a statement that no rust repairs would be covered under any warranty repair - regardless, unless it affects the functionality of the dishwasher. In other words, they KNOW this is an issue with this model and are doing nothing to fix the problem. I must say that the folks at Lowes were most helpful; cannot say the same for the folks at Whirlpool. I do not think I will trust their products again.
I purchased this monster in 2012 and after six years of enduring not enough water to actually wash the clothes for years, now the bearings have gone out making it sound like a jet engine is in my family room when it spins. After researching the bearing issue, I find it will cost $250 to $300 to have them replaced. Its also a common problem in this model even when the washer isnt at all worn out and old. That combined with the fact that my clothes dont smell clean and some blankets come out not even wet at all, Im done. I wont ever buy a water efficient washer again. Churning the dirty underwear around with a few cups of water isnt acceptable. NOTE: The bearings left months after the extended warranty expired. Just like clockwork. I purchased a much cheaper - center agitator - washer with a deep water option available. It was half the price of this top of the line Whirlpool Cabrio Washer.
Piece of junk that tears up clothes but doesnt clean. Company has ZERO care for their customers. I will never buy Whirlpool again. We called and called and called. Washer took two hours for a normal load. Crust and odors still there. Dryer was fine.
Purchased a 80 gallon Whirlpool Water Heater with a Life Time Warranty. When it overflowed because the system failed to detect the water temperature, called and they sent in the temp sensor (I paid for shipping). Had plumber replace it. One day later the same thing happened, called and they sent in a board. Same exact thing happened. By this time, Im without hot water for over 2 weeks in dead cold January on the East coast. They will replace the water heater but only a 50 gallon NOT the 80 because they no longer manufactured the 80. Option given by Lowes is to add a recirculating pump to give additional gallons. But, of course Whirlpool said NO. They only can give me the 50 gallon. What a ripoff!!! Please, please DO NOT purchase any product from Whirlpool. Now they change the same to A.O. Smith Signature Premier.
Whirlpool Cabrio washer Model WTW6500WW1 Ser C02670098 Type 580 is the worst appliance I have ever had. All the bad comments from people are all true! The washer leaves clothes wet. I get F1 error code or it just locks up and I have to unplug it and plug in again, twists clothes up and doesnt get clothes clean. I have always bought Whirlpool appliances because they were good but this washer has changed my mind about Whirlpool.
In the last two years I have purchased a new Whirlpool Duet washer and dryer with base, Whirlpool Gold refrigerator, and (less than a year) a built-in Whirlpool microwave. I have already had to replace the gaskets on the washer, which required a $65 deductible. I had to spend $65 on my service contract deductible for my dryer as they have had to order me a new motor and thermostat. My refrigerator had an appliance bulb as required installed; however, it still burns the plastic covering. I have not called on that yet. My microwave, which is less than a year old, has a small crack inside the door and part of the handle has broken off.
I shouldve read the reviews online about Whirlpool before buying our washer and dryer Duet. 4 years later the main bearing is going out and its 1200 to fix it. No support from them or anything. They did offer a loyalty discount on a new washer... No thanks. Just would be another headache a few years down the road Im sure. Goodbye Whirlpool. Never buying anything from them or their other brands. Ill definitely spread the word too.
I have used Kenmore products for about 50 years, so when it came time to replace my old washer I looked at Kenmore/Whirlpool. I upgraded to the top of the line. I had been warned by 2 service techs (2 different companies) that had tried to keep my old Kenmore alive that the new ones are not up to par compared to the old ones. The first very small load that I tried, was not even thoroughly wet when I took it out to put in the dryer. 1st service call, tech suggested that I put machine on extra water. That helped sort of. A few weeks later, wash is not getting clean. Called Whirlpool, they suggested getting the washer cleaner and clean the washer. Went out and bought a special cleaner, $10-12 and two cleanings later using the extra water and extra wash water I now was getting cleaner clothes. They said I would need to clean the washer every 2 to 4 weeks. I have continued to use washer but frequently have to rewash about 1 in every 5 to 10 loads as it doesnt always clean everything in the load. Called the Co., they sent service out, they said its OK!In Jan. We went out of town for 2 weeks. The washer had not been used for 4 days before we left. Came home to water all over the floor which are hardwood. Needless to say our hardwood is all warped! Service came out, ran the washer for about 15 min. and said it was fine, nothing wrong! Called Whirlpool again! Washer is now out of warranty. They said call a local service, out of their hands as it is out of warranty! Nothing more than they can do.I have used Kenmore/Whirlpool Appliances all my life and they have been wonderful. The new ones are garbage as far as I can tell. I have a Refer that is now 3-4 years old and I have had problems with that, a new dishwasher that is 2ish and have had service out on that one, now my brand new washer top of the line and it is so bad I am afraid to use it unless I am sitting right in front of it watching it! Further if you have the rinse cycle on the clothes come out so wrinkled that you need to get out your iron out and iron everything including sheets and linens. Lucky that I did not replace my old dryer! Do I recommend Whirlpool anymore? Not on your life. I wish I knew what to replace them with!
After Hurricane Katrina, six years ago, the gas water heater in my house had to be replaced due to the house getting flooded. For the past six years, the pilot light and/or igniter for the gas water heater has had to be replaced if not once a year, twice a year because it will not stay lit. Each time, Whirlpool would send a new igniter and/or pilot light part and would reimburse me the cost of labor to have the part(s) replaced. Now, after six years and exhausted of fighting with Whirlpool to stand behind their product and make it right, they are finally giving me an authorization to get a new gas water heater. However, now they are telling me they will not cover the cost of labor for replacing the entire water heater. My plumber will have to pull the defective water heater out of my house, take it to Lowes, pick up the new water heater and install it in my home. And Im supposed to accept their not paying for the labor of replacing their faulty water heater? I questioned this and told Whirlpool they paid for labor for the parts to be replaced for the past six years. Whirlpool then said they would pay up to $100. This is not acceptable. I was reimbursed more than $100 for the labor to replace a part that fits in a shoe box. (Multiply $100+ times 6. They paid more than $600 over the past six years.) The cost to replace an entire water heater, picking it up from the store included, will cost more than $200, if not $300! I would not have to pay anything if the Whirlpool product was not defective!I told the manager I was speaking with at Whirlpool I wanted to speak with his boss or someone who had more authority than he did. He refused. I asked him, Was he telling me no I could not speak with someone above him? He finally said he would have someone call me.I believe I should be reimbursed for the entire amount of labor to replace the water heater since the water heater is a defective product and I have to have it replaced not by my choice but out of necessity and safety. If it is defective in one area, who is to say in trying to light the pilot light, one day it will not do something worse than just not light up. What if it decides to explode? Defective is defective and I feel my family is in danger from a defective product and it should be replaced at the cost of Whirlpool not mine.
I like the dishwasher. It cleans pretty well. Some time it soap doesnt open and the dishes don’t get cleaned. But when it’s working good the dishes get cleaned very well.
Whirlpool Cabria Washing Machine hold down switched failed in just 18 months of use. It took the Technician 5 days to serviced and repair our Whirlpool top loading washing machine. The washer is till acting up and stop working unless you put a weight on the top loader cover.
I cant believe the list of people here with poor quality of their washing Machine. My first problem was covered under warranty. I have paid for two service visits from A&E and now every 5 minutes get the LF error. My fabric softener does not drain into load either. My only option is repair again and I got a sorry from Whirlpool. I think Im going to look for an old fashion cheap machine as it cant be of worse quality than this Cabrio wtw6400sw1.
I bought a Whirlpool water heater a few years back and have had nothing but headaches replacing the thermocouple every 1 to 3 months. The last one only lasted for 4 days. I did have a small flood in my basement well after the problems began. There are no visible signs of water damage to the unit, but Whirlpool has dropped my warranty completely. They sounded like they intend on not helping me anyway.
I bought a new Whirlpool French Door bottom-freezer refrigerator at Lowes in September 2010. I started seeing ice form in the bottom of the freezer compartment in July 2011. I cleaned it out, thought maybe the door had not sealed good. In a few weeks, it had formed again. I checked for leaks at ice maker. I noticed a condensate was also freezing on the back wall. I called Whirlpool in October 2011 to see what could be done, since the problem began before warranty had expired. (The warranty expired in September.) I was told by 3 different Whirlpool reps that they would not cover any of the costs of repair, but they suspected it was the auto defrost system and they would be glad to line up a repair person. Most of my appliances over the last twenty years have been Whirlpool, and I have had good service out of them other than a microwave that had a recall and that Whirlpool repaired. I was shocked that Whirlpool would not back up their product any better than this, especially since it is one of their higher-end models. Im not sure why Whirlpool has a customer service (or disservice) line to call. They were very uninterested in helping me. I can call my own repair person. I was insulted by the manner that the helpline personnel spoke to me. My experience has convinced me to try a different brand other than Whirlpool for all my future purchases.
We bought a small refrigerator/freezer Model WRT112CZJZ for a guest house. When not in use it was turned off at the unit control panel with the doors left open. There was a power failure and when the power was restored the refrigerator turned itself back on. Needless to say it must have been running for 2 weeks with the doors open and the condensation filled the holding tank and then proceeded to overflow on the wood floor. The floor was ruined. There was no indication in the manual to warn of the unit restarting when power is restored so it must be unplugged or the circuit breaker turned off to avoid a similar problem.
I bought a Whirlpool Cabrio washer on 11/07/10. I brought it home, hooked it up, turned it on and water came pouring out the bottom. I should have known better then, but I took it back and got another one, same model. I dont even have it 2 years and its locked up. I had a repairman here and was told it needed a new water pump ($200 plus). There are 3 adults in my home so its not like I use it hard. I am really disgusted. This is the 3rd washer I bought from Whirlpool in less than 10 years. I went on the Whirlpool site and voiced my disappointment and my problems with their washers. I was told they take pride in their products and I should have a nice day. Yeah, right, they dont have to drag clothes up and down the stairs and then to a laundromat when theyre in their 50s with a bad knee and back. Yes, I will have a nice day when I get that piece of junk out of my house. I will never buy anything made by Whirlpool again.
We bought the microwave new after the 2011 flood where we had lost everything in Tennessee. I wanted to get Whirlpool appliances in the kitchen so all appliances were replaced. We bought a Whirlpool model WMH1163XVU-1 microwave; the unit will run but doesnt heat. I also called Whirlpool and with no regard to customer service at all even with all the complaints... This saddens me because I will never buy a Whirlpool appliance again and my grandparents only believed in them... With all the complaints, the attorney generals office should do something for the people.
Friends and family dont you ever dare to buy a refrigerator from Whirlpool - Best Buy!!! They sold me a defect refrigerator and after 2 months begging to see a technician, they are telling me that they are going to fix it. Im so tired of them trying to fix it. Theyve been here 4 times with no luck. All my food is rotten and frozen. And its a new refrigerator. Gosh. As you can see, the water in the plastic cup that I left in my refrigerator are frozen which is not supposed to happen. I feel that Im dealing with nonsense. They dont care. They just took my money and thats it. Im left with a new defect refrigerator that doesnt work. Ridiculous.
We purchased a Whirlpool Duet machine in September 2010. About a year ago, I started noticing tears and stains on clothing. Luckily, it was always on a washcloth or blanket, nothing special. Last week, it tore a 3-inch hole in my good jacket. I was not happy! My husband and I checked inside the drum and all around the seal. Neither of us found any rough edges. I thought if I called Whirlpool, they might have had a recall. They assured they had never heard of this problem. REALLY!!! Just look at all these e-mail complaints. Back to the old top loading - basic wash machine. Definitely not a Whirlpool!!!
I have just had one of the worst experiences with any appliance warranty repair service of my life. I rarely complain but strongly feel the company needs to make some changes. They have no repair folks less than 50 miles away from the dealer (and my home). Their refrigerator was sold to me with the understanding that such a service was available as part of the purchase price. Ha! The repairman referred wiggled out of the time assigned to him. Another repair referral will take weeks. The unit is a piece of junk and is malfunctioning in less than a year. When, and if, any repair person comes to my home they will find it in the garage with the rest of my junk.
I purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio in 2009. It worked so-so over the years but recently stopped completing cycles, citing false load balance errors and leaving towels and sheets sopping wet at the end of a cycle. Three repair appointments later, and still no success. I am thoroughly disgusted that such an expensive machine only lasts four years. Based on the service techs attitude toward the machine and other consumer comments, Im guessing I will have to replace it. You can guess it will not be with a Whirlpool machine!
Whirlpool/Ikea Renlig dishwasher - Since installing this integrated dishwasher it has continuously destroyed the decorative panel door. On my model (they have recently changed in 2014) the steam exits at the top, this damages whatever it comes into contact with it. Today they are saying that it has not been installed correctly and that it should actually sit out from the countertop, i.e. jut out from the rest of the kitchen so that the steam can vent into the room. The panel should also be lower than the other doors of the kitchen cabinetry too. Hardly integrated and would be a bloody eyesore. I am about to call them back again and inform them that I will be making a scene about this in my local Ikea and with anyone else who cares to listen.
I am a Licensed Plumber in Oklahoma, have been for 25 years. Our company will no longer work on Whirlpool water heaters, heres why. I diagnosed a water heater that the pilot would not stay lit, the thermocouple was bad. Whirlpool Tech Support told me to go to Lowes and buy the parts and send them the receipt and they would reimburse me. The customer was furious that I charged them for the part and I told them when I got reimbursed, I would send them the money. Well, I not only never got any money from Whirlpool but I never got paid from the homeowner who was mad at me and I didn’t even sell it to them. Beware, buy Rheem.
Bought a brand new 40 gal water heater from Lowes. Installed it and it worked fine. Next day no hot water... After doing all the tests with tech support. This smart mouthed CSR explained to me how her uncle is a master plumber and she knows what shes talking about. Still couldnt tell me what was causing it to not work. Other than the reset being tripped. I have had good luck with Whirlpool products. But customer service has always been poor.
Purchased our hot water heater in August of 2011. About 3 days ago, it just stopped working. Surely it should last longer than this, right? Nope apparently I was taken! We called the manufacturer and described the issue. They said it was the thermopile. They could send us another out in a few days but we didnt want to wait so we paid $50 for a new one we were able to locate at a hardware store. Nobody sells these! We replaced the thermopile but no results... Pilot will not stay lit. Called Whirlpool back and they said to hit the reset button which we did. Called a technician (several) which wouldnt touch the heater. Said nobody works on these because they are riddled with issues. I pleaded with him to test it which he did. He said the control box is out! He said to cut our losses and buy a new one! I am so very upset! I cant afford another one! We called Whirlpool back again to see what they would say this time - they are sending us another control box! After reading all of the complaints and being without hot water, I am not hopeful of a good result! I plan on replacing the control box that they send and then saving for a new heater! I want my money back which Ive heard just wont happen! I have also had nothing but issues with my gas stove made by Whirlpool ever since it was only 6 months old. STAY AWAY FROM WHIRLPOOL PRODUCTS!! Run!!!
I am very impressed with Whirlpool. After seeing my review, they contacted me and offered to send the parts to fix the problem with the LED lights. They sent a Whirlpool authorized repairman to my home with the understanding that since the refrigerator is out of warranty, I would have to pay him. Whirlpool also asked me to return the faulty part so they can research the problem. We are once again happy owners of Whirlpool products. Thank you Whirlpool!
Whirlpool gold series wrf990slam02, just 2 years old bought from Lowes, and repairman just told me that it has a Freon leak which apparently happens often. Will have to replace some items that might fix it but he did not sound reassuring. RUN dont walk away from this brand. I looked up these refrigerators after this all started and they have a 1 star rating. I should have done my homework on this.
The machine pass all the cycles but the clothes are only very wet and still dirty.
I purchased a Whirlpool 12-gallon point-of-use water heater as a booster when I was going to get a tankless and when we decided that we didnt need a tankless, I tried to get an RA number through the manufacturer so that the store could give me credit, as it says directly on the water heater, Do not return to store. They said there is nothing that they will do and it cant be returned to the store. So, what am I supposed to do with this water heater now? Before I knew this was going to happen, I purchased a 50-gallon Whirlpool water heater as well. So now, I have the 50-gallon that I have had to replace the element for already and I have only had it for less than a month and a half, and the 12-gallon is just sitting in my garage. Im completely irritated with this company and do not recommend anyone to go with this company! This is the worst customer service!
Such an expensive refrigerator but poor quality. Bought at Home Depot back in November of 2019. The bottom Freezer freezes up messing up everything only three months after purchase. I wouldn’t recommend it at all to anyone.
My $1800 French door refrigerator is only 20 months old and the ice maker has quit working. They sent out a repair person 5 times and replaced parts three of those times. Now they are saying it is unrepairable and are refunding my contract fee of $345 and leaving me with a broken ice maker. When the problem started it was making ice just not dumping it. Now it doesnt even get water. Throughout this all, two months, I have had to constantly call them to find out our next move. They say someone will call me in 2-3 days but they never do. One of The last people I talked to said, Well you can still keep food in it. I dont feel that is reasonable considering I bought a refrigerator with the ice maker in it. I finally called Whirlpool corporate instead of the service contract people to see if anything could be done and was told someone would call me back in 2-3 business days. Well its been a week and big surprise - have not heard from anyone. It is looking like we will have to purchase yet another refrigerator in less than two years. The service people I talked to were rude and really didnt seem to want to help at all. I believed when I purchased this Whirlpool product that they were a reputable company. Sorry to say that is not the case at all. I dont know if the refrigerator is really unrepairable or if they just gave up trying to find the issue. Seems hard to believe a basically new appliance cant be repaired.
Four years old and only used by a 2 family home. No kids overloading it. Probably wash 3 loads a week on average. After 4 years, it has started the grease flying out of the bottom and now leaking water. My appliance repair man told me to scrap it and buy a new one. The repair and the parts are too expensive and in the end it is still junk. I realize things wont last 30 years like they used to but can I get 7 years out of a major appliance?
I have a Cabrio washing machine and the circuit board has gone bad. I understand from Whirlpools customer service that if your machine was made before 2005, they are fixing the issue. Mine was made after 2006. Even though the problem is the same, Whirlpool will not correct the problem. I was told it was fixed in the new machines. The circuit board goes bad and you have to start and stop the machine at least three times before it will start your cycle, then it stops again at the 17 minute mark and you have to cancel and start the machine again for it to finish its cycle. The error is F1. Customer service acknowledged that this is a known problem for the Whirlpool machines built before 2005 but deny any claim that is is happening to the machines after 2005. Looking at all the other complaints, it is still a problem. I am disappointed in Whirlpool for their customer service attitude and for them not standing behind their product and fixing a known problem. I have always bought Whirlpool products but going forward will be switching to a better company. Shame on you Whirlpool. For a machine I spent $1000 on, the part is going to cost $300 to fix.
We purchased a Whirlpool Duet Front Loading Washer and Dryer. The control panel on the washer went out in March. We called for a repair. The repairman came, told us we needed to replace the control panel and he would order it. My American Express was charged $389.91 on March 26th. I called today, April 9, asking about where the part was and when my machine would be repaired. I was told the part would not be available until July 11, 2013. I cannot believe that a company would expect a customer to wait nearly four months for a part as well as charge them for the parts and labor four months ahead of the part. When I called, I was first told that there were 15 parts in stock, but then was told that there were not any available to me. I have cancelled the service but it will take them three weeks to credit my card back for the part.
We purchased Whirlpool Gold Accubake, double ovens (gas) in 2005. Since then, we have experienced identical failures (8 to date) during the self-cleaning cycle in which the high temperature burns out the thermal fuse of the ovens. This requires two Sears technicians to repair the unit (it requires two technicians to pull the oven out as the fuse location is in the back of the unit) and leaves us without use of both ovens for approximately 2 weeks (scheduling parts delivery and technicians through Sears home repair is not an expedient process). After checking other consumer product websites, it has become clear to me that there is a known design defect with these ovens in which the thermal fuse is not adequately insulated from the high temperatures during self clean; it therefore trips and burns out during the self-clean cycle. While not having access to ovens for about two weeks/year on average may sound acceptable to Sears, the reality is that the problem has escalated in frequency since purchase. In 2013, we are going on our third repair of the same problem (that makes 6 weeks of non-usable oven time in one year) and Sears will not consider replacing the unit, despite: 1) our obvious dissatisfaction with a lemon unit, 2) a well documented history of the defect with this particular Whirlpool oven and 3) an ongoing and escalating repair cost to Sears (it is under their extended warranty so the repair cost is on them although we did pay for this service up front on our appliances).I would stay away from not only Whirlpool appliances but also Sears as there doesnt seem to be any regard for the customer experience and taking care of a product problem (the right way) with a known defect. Sears has an opportunity to make this problem go away quite easily and retain a customer - fix the problem permanently or just replace the defective unit. Unfortunately, my experience to date with Sears standing behind the products they sell provides me with little confidence that either will happen.
Within 5 months my 850$ dishwasher broke. 2 months to repair and 15 plus hours on the phone. Warranty is cryptic. You must allow them 30 business days from when they order parts. Buy Bosch, wish I did!
After many phone calls and letters to Whirlpool about the AquaLift cleaning system in their new stoves, that does not work at all. I finally spoke to someone at the corporate office with a brain! I am happy because Whirlpool refunded my money and removed the stove. That was the outcome I was looking for as this new steam clean thing of theirs does not work on a dirty oven. Hopefully, they will work on improving these stoves and restore consumer confidence once again.
I have not had any problems with my Whirlpool refrigerator. It is four years old and has had two owners, including myself. It has the stainless steel look and has top to bottom french doors, one side is the freezer and the other the refrigerator. Both sides are equally the same size. It has a filtered water dispenser and ice maker in the door. Id say for the price it is a really good value.
When the fridge is running and there is a power loss of about a second or so, the fridge shuts down and will not restart (even after hours). I have to unplug it for a minute or so then plug it back in; it runs fine until the next very short power failure. When we are out of town for a few days and that happens, we come home to a fridge of ruined food and a mess. I have contacted Whirlpool (2 times) and they were no help at all. It seems to me a software change could solve the problem, but they are unwilling to listen.
Whirlpool Gold refrigerator WRF989SDAH00. I purchased this French door refrigerator based on past experiences with Whirlpool and sad to say this is not the same quality product I have know Whirlpool for. After the warranty ran out, it died. The first service company I called identified the problem as a known (to Whirlpool) design flaw. They would not touch it and referred me to contact Whirlpool. I did and the company referred me to Dinos Appliance Factory Service (in Phoenix AZ). They came out and confirmed it was a design flaw. They replaced the evaporator and compressor and it lasted about 6 weeks.
I purchased my Whirlpool refrigerator about 4 years ago and havent had any problems with it. One of the things I like about it is it has adjustable shelves not only in refrigerator part but also in the door part so that you can put bigger items like milk, etc. in door. It also has crisp bin for things like lettuce that works very well.
I am following up on a review I submitted on April 22, 2015 about a Whirlpool refrigerator with french doors and bottom refrigerator. At the time, paint was falling off from the door as pictured in the previous review. This another chapter on this story and probably the closing chapter. A few months after the paint event which I could have lived for a while, the right door hinge literally disintegrated leaving the door without support. The door seals material is of such poor quality that they have disintegrated and the water condenses inside. The bottom photo shows hinge components that came off the door hinge on the kitchen floor. The second photo from the bottom up photo shows how the door scraped the plastic of the freezer door top trim if the door is not lifted to clear it. The second photo from top to bottom shows the door over the hinge pin if I am not careful lifting the door to clear the freezer door. The first photo from top to bottom shows how the door remains open if not lifted so that the door magnetic seal keeps it in place. It is very hard for me to believe that a country like the United States of America treats its customers with no respect. I met my obligation to pay the amount on the price tag of this appliance but I cannot say that Whirlpool did its part of providing a basic quality product. There is no consumer protection agency in this country to protect consumers from corporate predators that have no sense of a fair deal with a customer. So here we are, being abused by United Corporations of America. I hope the future brings a different understanding of the american people on these matters. Thank you for the opportunity to express myself on this matter. Next step... buy a foreign made appliance that will support another country work force... sounds familiar.
Purchased in Nov. 2013, by March 2014 noticed water leak on floor, after 8 service calls in 3 months it was deemed unrepairable By Whirlpool. Got a new fridge in June 2015, no cost to us, but have had 2 service calls already for the same problem. The first leak damaged our kitchen floor, and the ceramic tile that we have is no longer made so we have had to file an insurance claim on our homeowners to pay for repairs. I would never buy any Whirlpool product again, or buy from the local company we bought the original fridge from.
To be fair to Whirlpool, I have contacted them but have not given them time to respond. I feel so strongly about this issue that I want to get the message about this company product out. About 2 years ago, we purchased a Whirlpool fridge, stove, and dishwasher. I have had so many problems with the stove (WFG540H0AS0) that it has pissed me off, actually. First, the knobs that control the stove top melted. MELTED! We had to replace them to the tune of $30.00 each and there are 5. Why would anyone use knobs that cannot withstand heat on a stove?! News flash, I cook on my stove. Therefore, there will be heat used. Second, the oven keeps shutting off in the middle of cooking my holiday meal. Of course, this made my turkey take much longer than usual. Today, it shut off in the middle of cupcakes. Third, the oven does ignite without turning it on and off multiple times. So we called the repair person who told us to replace the ignition switch for it. This helped for about one month. Then the problem started again. I just emailed Whirlpool and I will call them next business day. I am so disappointed with Whirlpool. I thought they had a good reputation for quality products.
I purchased a brand new refrigerator model # WRX735SDBM00 Ser # K51621170 on 30 June at Lowes. Paid about 1600.00. Within 5 days the ice maker was no longer functioning. I called the service department and a lengthy ordeal commenced of trying to repair. It is now 13 August 2015 and I have had over 10 visits from a technician and I still have no ice. I made a terrible mistake in not returning the appliance to the store within 30 days so now it has to go through the process which means that now I have to continue to wait until the technicians deem that this appliance is not repairable anymore before I can attempt to get a replacement. In the meantime, we have been inconvenienced, aggravated not to mention not be provided a product that works with no future date where I can get this appliance repaired. The local store management have been great to deal with and are trying but their hands are tied until the manufacturer determines they cant fix. In the meantime, the consumer is continuing to wait for the repair/replacement. No one seems to care or has there been any discussion of some compensation (not necessarily money) for the aggravation and inconvenience I have endured. Something is just not right. Suffice to say, never again will I buy a Whirlpool. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE.
I have never posted a negative product review but must do so now. The refrigerator is 1 1/2 years old at most and has been well taken care of. I noticed today that the finish at either side of the bottom of each refrigerator door handle has a problem. I couldnt tell if the finish was pitting or is just discolored. I called customer service and expected that they would help, especially since we have an extended warranty. Representative number one told me that the extended warranty only covers problems that affect the function of the product. I spoke to her supervisor and then her supervisor. I got plenty of apologies but no support. I offered to send pictures, but they were not even interested in checking out the problem. After speaking to them, I took the handle off and I see now that the handle cut into some sort of film that exists on the metal. (I am not talking about the protective plastic coating that is on the the refrigerator at delivery.) The film is lifting off the surface and creating discoloration. If Whirlpool was at all concerned, I think this issue could be fixed with some sort of gasket to keep the metal handle from cutting into the surface. Im hoping the problem is static, but hard to say what will happen. If they had been interested in trying to understand the cause of the problem, it would have been easier to accept the limitations of the warranty. It would have demonstrated an interest in avoiding this problem for other consumers in the future. My last Whirlpool product. Period. Good luck if you decide to do business with them.
Washer does not clean clothes period. Darks come out covered with white soap residue and smell dirty regardless of how little soap is used or with using extra rinse, which takes 84 minutes by the way. Whites only seem slightly cleaner since hot water is used and you cant see the soap residue. If you wash more than 5 or 5 items at a time some do not even get completely wet. Just waiting for it to break down next according to the other reviews. I spent a lot of money to get a nice washer and dryer and ended up with junk. Id rather have an old 1970 washer, probably designed better and most likely would clean better.
WHIRLPOOL WASHER FOR SALE! Your clothes will come out just a bit dirty, but thats OK isnt it? (You can see for yourself.) Oh yeah the Smell. OMG, its a heavenly Wet Dog smell. I know youll be as happy as I am with this WHIRLPOOL CABRIO WASHER. I almost forgot to mention, that most clothes will come out dry (not because of the high power spinning cycle) so youll save on your power bill, since you’re not using the dryer... This is a must have WHIRLPOOL CABRIO WASHER - NEW, ENERGY EFFICIENT. Youll use little to no water, another savings! But youll spend a wee bit more for the HE detergent, sorry! Oh yeah I forgot to mention its still under WHIRLPOOL 1 YEAR WARRANTY. Youll BE GLAD YOU PURCHASED THIS WONDERFUL MACHINE... Just as I am! :-)Back ground & Information about problems: A) We purchased the Cabrio Model# WTW5840BW0 washer 8 months ago and it has been nothing but trouble. And yes Im very busy in the summer - always on the go with school, kids, vacation, homework, finals, and work, etc. For the past 2.5 months. Started off by not spinning out, first problem. Does not fill up on deep washer cycle. Clothes come out as dirty as when I put them in. I have pictures. Some clothes never get wet; no water touches them (Small/Large loads). Now whites are coming out with yellow blotches on them. The clothes smell like Wet Dog - yes wet dog. Ive used the Powerball cleaner three times in 8 months. Yes, a service man has been out. He recalibrated everything. Now it’s worse. He is/has ordered ALL new computer parts, and I do mean ALL. If you need to replace every computer part on a brand new machine, I feel as if this alone, is a red flag… Wouldnt you agree?Im not happy with your Whirlpool Cabrio Washer and no longer want this washer. Maybe a different one, but not this one! It has been nothing but a headache. What can be done? Ive called Whirlpool USA 4-5 time being on endless hold @ the 800-253-1301 number and finally today is the first time talking to a rep. The young man was nice; however Im still no closer to getting this machine fixed today! Ugh. I would not recommend the CABRIO WASHER to anyone at this point. You can understand, cant you? B) Sad ;-( I had to tell my husband he was right and I was wrong about the new washer, and not to mention the smell he has been complaining about. Yuck...Explanation: I had washed towels in the new WHIRLPOOL and did not get around to folding them. Then after washing last night outside (yes outside) in the ole GE. I was folding the towels and happened to pick up the first set washed (Whirlpool); put them to my face and sniffed, yuck! WET DOG came to mind. Then sniffed the ones washed in the GE and he was right. I was wrong! Ugh... A $800+ Whirlpool is in the laundry room yet, Im outside on the deck - again yes Im hanging out with the mosquitoes on our deck washing clothes with the good ole GE. (It’s outside because it need a shutoff switch, or something like that.) Lesson learned the expensive way, dont buy a computerized Whirlpool washer. Its money down the drain... Needless to say Im not happy at all with this product.
My 3 door fridge is roomy, well lighted and well organized. I love the fact that when I open the doors, I can see everything at a glance. The freezer section is also well organized and holds plenty. Being able to get filtered water and ice in the door is convenient. The main reason I picked Whirlpool is that it is made in the USA! I want to support American manufacturers that employ my fellow citizens.
My son purchased the Whirlpool 2 door w/ icemaker about 3 years ago. Twice weve had a repairman here. Yesterday was the 2nd one. He tried 3 ways to get liquid to go through a round coil I could see at the back. He said the problem was between the two back panels (back of fridge & inside wall) where there was a tubing to release the water from defrost cycle. It appears to be a manufacturing problem. I am very upset! It should be replaced at the very least.
My family has been without hot water for two weeks. We have the same water heater, we have been to Lowes where we were told the recalled parts were no longer available, unless we wanted to drive 3 1/2 hours to Arkansas to get it. Whirlpool wants to give me a free part for $36.00 worth of shipping and handling! All the local suppliers say I have to go through Lowes, or the manufacturer. I dont want to give whirlpool another dime. This has been a fiasco. How much more can a company disrespect their customer, than to make us pay for a faulty product replacement? It is unacceptable. This is ridiculous. It is December, and I have a family of 7, including a child in a wheelchair.
I absolutely HATE my Cabrio washer/dryer. I cannot get the mold smell out of my clothes. The clothes come out dirty and smelly. I have no idea what to do about it. It was a huge sacrifice to purchase these and a complete waste of my money. Whirlpool - please stand behind your products and take it back! Worst purchase Ive made in years.
Whirlpool Refrigerator Model # GI6SARXXF 04 Ice Maker - About nine months after purchasing this unit the ice maker began to stop working. I researched what the issue might be. During this time, the ice maker decided to begin working again. This occurred again about 15 months into ownership. At 19 months into ownership, the ice maker no longer works after approximately 5 weeks. Whirlpool will not allow me to purchase an extended warranty. I was told by a CR on the phone. However, she did offer a Repair +1 service contract that cost $345.55. I advised the CR that on the Whirlpool website, I was offered an extended warranty for 2 years for approximately $165.00. After waiting for her to check into my claim of being offered the extended warranty for about 10 minutes, she came back to advise me that no existing issues would be covered. In other words, my $2000.00+ Whirlpool refrigerator is so crappy that Whirlpool only offers a 1 year warranty. And unless I pay $345.55 and/or a service tech charging $129 for a trip charge only, I will not have a working ice maker. Additionally, the capacity for ice storage is extremely small, even for my 2 person household. At times, the ice comes out crushed even though the setting is for cubed ice. The ice shoot is great for taller glasses, but if trying to use a shorter glass, watch out! You will have ice all over your floor every time!
The washer buttons stopped responding after 19 months. Lid lock sensor didn’t work. Replaced control board because new sensor did not fix it. Went bad again after a week. I have to replace it. I think 1 year warranties are not enough for a major appliance.
March 18, 2018. I was called today to inform me that the right front burner on my new stove Model # WEG745H0FS0 (ordered in early September and not delivered until mid-October from Menards) was not operating properly. The flame was noisy and yellow. I inspected it and found that the front burner base was substantially damaged by heat. See photo (Whirlpool stove part damage1). On inspection of the other front burner base, I discovered early signs of the same problem. (Note changes on burner base on the left of the photo.)In this photo (Whirlpool stove part damage2.JPG), you can see the damage to the burner base and also see some changes on the 3 to 5 O’clock position on the burner base on the left of the photo. This stove is less than 6 months old. The fact that the burner parts can be melted indicate poor design and danger to the owner/operator of the stove. Further, the operators manual for the stove I bought does not include any information on the model I have. It has pictures of the range top similar to mine but the model number is completely different. In addition to this, the Aqua-Lift Technology for cleaning the oven is completely ineffective. This is noted in several other reviews of this equipment. The problem noted by the other review became obvious the very first day I tried to use this range. A 2 cup pot spilled all over the cooktop as soon as I put it on the grate.
I am completely dissatisfied with the competence and accountability that I have encountered while dealing with Whirlpool Canada. I ordered a Whirlpool Refrigerator in September of 2011. I opted to switch the door swing myself since it is a relatively simple task and of course they charge you extra if they do it for you. Once I had the door installed, the last step was to screw on the handle. The door was missing the threading which allowed the handle to be installed. I contacted Goehmans to set up a service call. They looked at the fridge only to tell me that they needed to order an entire door. A month and a half later I had not been contacted by anyone regarding the whereabouts of the replacement door.Long story short, over four months later and after hours of phone calls recounting the details of the events numerous times to numerous employees, all Whirlpool had to say over and over again was I understand, but unfortunately we do not provide any compensation.” They said that the warranty only covered repairs and not product replacement, which would be fine if it ever broke but they delivered a fridge that was not built correctly in the first place. They took no responsibility for the lack of quality control. After speaking with the supervisor Josh, and insisting that we be compensated for the inconveniences and frustration, he finally agreed to extend the warranty by 3 months. I told him that they should offer a year extension since if they stood behind their product that it wouldnt even cost them a cent. He politely told me that he understood and what email address did I want the extended warranty information to go to and that he would offer only the 3 month warranty. When I received the email, I found out that I had yet another phone call to make in order to engage the extra 3 month warranty.I am extremely frustrated with the level of service and I feel as though they school their employees to be therapists that offer no solutions. They were all very willing to listen and offer a sympathetic ear, tell you that they understand but not to take action or offer a solution. They seemed to think that it was acceptable that I pay them full price for a fridge but not deliver the full appliance for a projected 6-8 months. In my book and to most consumers, this is not acceptable. When I pay full price for a product, I feel that a full product should be delivered to me in working order. Whirlpool got their money and the special order door seems to be at the low end of their priority list. How else can they justify a 6-8 month wait for part replacement?Somebody please sell Josh a car with no stereo system, make him pay for the option and see if he if he thinks waiting 6-8 months for it is acceptable. Oh yeah, and waste 6-10 hours of his personal time trying find out where the heck his stereo system is then tell him how much you understand. I guess I can stroke Whirlpool off as a brand of appliance for any future purchases.
I would like to share whirlpools lack of ownership for parts they knew were faulty that caused significant damage to my floor. Its absolutely horrendous that one would purchase the highest end dishwasher they offer (all highest end appliances in 3 homes so far) and the company is only willing to cover the replacement of the part. Its a horrible way to run a company. I hope that my review will warn prospective customers to stay away from a company who is only willing to take your cash at purchase (charging an arm and a leg no less) and not care about any repercussions after the fact. I hope they enjoy our 15k, because it will be the last penny they get from us.
Machine just will not clean clothes. Model Cabrio W10560169A. Company offered NO support. This washer retails for around $1,000 and just does not work!
I will never buy another Whirlpool again or recommend them to anyone, and discourage anyone from buying one. I bought a Cabrio washing machine just over 2 years ago and yesterday I received an F51 error code. The manual says that this code requires a technician to come a check for repairs. Well, before I do anything I google the problem, and lo and behold there are thousands of complaints about this issue with the Cabrio models. Some saying that what needed to be replaced were a control board ($280) and a rotor (unknown amount), not including the price of labor. Some said that Whirlpool knows about this problem and they covered the parts and repair. This didnt get my hopes up, but I called customer service and of course they said that there were no reported issues with the model and that what I found on the internet was probably an older model. Of course! The lady on the phone told me that they would not cover the costs and it would be anywhere from $300 to $500 depending on the route I wanted to take. That is a 1/3 to 1/2 the price I paid for the machine. This is ridiculous! I am tempted to just get rid of the washer and go with a better company that actually cares about their customers. This error code was definitely something they know is a big deal if there was nothing I could do about it other than call a technician. I paid almost $1000 for a machine that has barely lasted 2 years before I have to pay money to have it fixed. Not a company I would ever purchase anything from again!
I purchased Whirlpool front load washing machine (Sport 1072 CB) in March 2013 and since then it has been my worst nightmare. Buying a Whirlpool washing machine was one of the worst decisions I took. The problems started to come from the first month itself. Many parts have changed and are still being done. I am continuously requesting them to replace the machine but they have decided not to listen. The after sale service of Whirlpool is the worst in the industry.
August 10 2014, I purchase a new Whirlpool HE. Monday cant wait for the delivery of my new washer! Im ready with my HE detergent & 2 loads of dirty laundry. Tuesday, I want my broken old Kenmore washer back! My kids clothes came out dingy. Did a second rinse & spin but didnt help. Second batch had to be rewashed. Some areas were not even wet. Had to pause it to add more water to & again to rinse it. Plus I had to mix my softener into a cup of water to add it on rinse because I forgot the rinse ball, unlike the old washer where I add into dispenser & forget about it. So unhappy & dissatisfied.
Love my new fridge, not in love with the icemaker though. Every couple of days I have to reach in and scoop the ice off the little shelf in the back, or else it will quit making ice. The ice cubes block the arm from coming back down to trigger a refill.
I purchased the Whirlpool Duet June 2011. Within two weeks, it was tearing my clothes. It didnt matter how little of a load it was, they still ripped. Five months later, my machine was leaking water. The repair man came out. I told him it was also tearing my clothes. His only response was dont load it to full. Well, I called the store where I purchased it and they are sending a repair man out again. I told them to either fix this from ripping my clothes or I was going to take a hammer to the machine and never buy a Whirlpool again or give them a good reference. I also called Whirlpool directly and told them of my problem and they acted like they had never heard of this happening before. I told them to search the internet because everyone is having the same complaint! I had a Fridgidaire front loader for 9 years and never had a problem with it eating my clothes.
We have had a Whirlpool dishwasher for about 2.5 years and have been happy with how it cleans dishes. About a year ago we replaced our counter top and in the process had to adjust the bend in the mountain brackets that attach the dishwasher to the underside of the counter. This requires flexing the thin piece of aluminum at the perforated line. In the process, one of the brackets snapped. The other was barely still intact and broke several months later. I tried jerry-rigging them, but eventually decided to replace them and called Whirlpool customer service to ask for replacement parts.Unfortunately, Whirlpool wanted to charge me $10.50 apiece and another $9.00 for shipping and handling. These parts could not cost more than a few cents apiece. I was shocked that they would charge me $30.00 to replace these flawed parts. Never have I had such and experience with any customer service department. The three people I spoke with were all rude and unapologetic about my situation. Two blamed it on the install...Ive installed plenty of dishwashers and never had any problems in the past. Even if it was a failure on my behalf, the simple replacement of the parts for a reasonable charge would have been fine by me. I told them Id be happy to pay a few dollars and to pay the full shipping fee (which was also high, in my opinion), but they refused to meet me halfway. I can only think that this is part of their business plan...make dishwashers with sub-par parts, and then over charge for the replacement parts when they fail. Well, I re-upped my jerry-rigging efforts and have improved the engineering of the faulty part. Save my $30. But Whirlpool will never again get my business and Ill be sure to steer clients and friends away from this brand as well.
We Purchased our KitchenAid refrigerator from Home Depot. After 1 week we had issues with the ice maker, water dispenser and lights going on and off randomly. Technician comes 5 days later, he half way fixes it and discovers we need to order a part. The part took over a week to get and by the time he shows up to fix the refrigerator, it has now been TWO WEEKS with out our $4,000 refrigerator not working properly. Well, after trying to replace the part and spending 45 minutes on the phone with some engineer, it still wasn’t fixed. He Says to us “hey good news youre getting a new refrigerator”. Good news my **. It’s now been THREE weeks and it turns out the new one isn’t coming for another week. Customer serves reps. are really good at apologizing for the inconvenience but Whirlpool has Done NOTHING to composite us. DO NOT BUY WHIRLPOOL.
I am so disappointed with this washer. I totally dread doing laundry. The following are the complaints: Every load comes out totally twisted and wrinkled!! The soap/fabric dispenser holds water after each load (I have to take paper towels and get the dispenser empty!!!). There is not enough water to properly clean the clothes. I have never noticed a reduction in my water bill and have had this piece of junk since 4-25-13. There is NO short cycle on this junk machine. There is an odor to my towels - like they are musty - after I dry them and use them. I use Tide HE detergent and clean the washer with Affresh (you shouldnt have to clean a washer). I should have taken the time to write a review much sooner, but decided today was the day after doing laundry. DO NOT BUY THIS WASHER.
I purchased a refrigerator Model# WRF736SDAW12 on 8/9/14 and from day two, Ive had nothing but problems with the ice maker. We NEVER use crushed ice, but we get a lot of crushed along with cubed and crushed/shards of ice all over my fridge, hands and floor. My daughter (wearing her heels) already slipped and fell while walking past the fridge, not realizing that there was ice lying on the floor because my floor is light/multicolored, so we cant see the ice. After several calls, the repair person replaced all the components of the ice maker and the repair person was told (2/26/15) from the Whirlpool tech that we would just have to live with the problem because its normal and he was advised to tell me to get a larger glass. The repair person looked at my glass, seeing that it was already large, shook his head and said Whirlpool must want me to start using a bowl to catch all the ice. I couldnt believe it?! I bought this fridge expecting to receive ONLY cubed ice and yet I dont, so Im sure why they put that cubed feature on there when I cant utilize it. I only want a little ice, but the first thing that comes out is the crushed ice, and in order for me to receive more cubed ice, I have to fill up the entire cup that includes the crushed/shards of ice which floats to the top and ends up in my mouth. Thats the purpose of me selecting cubed, so I dont have to drink it!After the repair man left, I called customer service (2/26/15) and she told me that ice gets stuck in the chute?, so thats why I get crushed ice, but its normal she says. How is that normal? Please read all the reviews/complaints from both the Whirlpools and on Home Depots website for this model and you’ll see this is a problem, there is a flaw in the design.I cant believe a big company such as Whirlpool would treat me so poorly and brush me off like this. After the many posts I put on their Facebook page, they over and over say they will be in contact with me. I have yet to hear from them. I found another story on Pissed Consumer where a senior fell due to the ice falling all over the floor, so its not just me that it has happened to. Theyre putting people in a hazardous situation and they dont care.I have an autistic son who gets ice constantly, I can’t supervise his every move and I’m not able to keep up with his dropped ice nor can he remember to look down for it. I’m concerned that next time my daughter falls; she won’t be so lucky and could sprain or break something. How about my visitors? Do I worry about them suing me when they fall? I’m not so annoyed at the fact that I step on water with my dry socks or the 24/7 noise from the motor or the left door not shutting all the way than I am with the safety of my family.
Just bought the Whirlpool 3.5 cu ft, Top Load HE washer (model WTW4815EW), but of course, the sales person did not explain that HE meant LOW WATER USAGE. Wish I had done my homework. FIRST LOAD, clothes seem to be beaten to death, and must pour in detergent before you load clothes. So, Oxyclean detergent I always used in my regular (NOT HE) washer put a hole in one towel and discolored (faded out) the others. Also seems that the fast and hard agitator would not (logically) last very long. It seems to be working very hard. Im SO disappointed. Called Whirlpool to say I dont like it. They said to call Home Depot and see what they will do about an exchange. When I did, my sales person said that almost all the washers he sells are HE. I want the old type washer back that allows me to add more water if I want, change the cycle and water levels at my discretion, add detergent when I want to, and soak clothes if I wish.
Apparently, Whirlpool selling all their rejected faulty washing machine in the market. The trick they are playing is the machine being sold with one year parts-labor warranty; They wont replace these machines with a new one because they know that these machine will never work, consumer will buy the faulty machine, obviously it wont work so consumer will call for service. The service guy will say that “oh! Machine needs a part and then the customer service will say “the part is being ordered”, “wait”, then the service guy will come with the part and after wasting some time he will say “Oh! The machine needs another part, and again customer service will tell the consumer that “you keep calling us”. One year will be gone! Bottom line – faulty machine is sold, Whirlpool made profit, buyer is robbed. I am one unfortunate customer who purchased Whirlpool Washing Machine which never worked as it is a faulty machine which should not go to the market at all; Whirlpool made money on my hard-earned dollars and I been robbed.
Lost two freezers of meat in this Whirlpool. Changed Motherboard twice. Wouldnt keep ice cream frozen. Tech told me I was buying cheap ice cream. Was told by Whirlpool that they dont replace freezers. Received a call from another WP rep who did replace it. Waiting 4 weeks now because trucking company wont come up my driveway in snow. It was here once out. Driver didnt know how to change unit out. Waiting for exp driver now.
I have had my washing Machines since 2011 and have had continuous problems with the washing machine during spin cycle sounding like a freight train going through my house. Whirlpool has had people to my house 5 times to fix. When warranty was up in 2012, I was told they would continue to cover this particular issue. They came out again in April 2013 and now I am being told, Too bad; if you want fixed then you will need to pay for it.
We purchased this washer in April two years ago. I have had service people out twice to replace the lid. Tonight, my husband comes into the kitchen with chunks of something that I could not readily identify. He tells me the entire frame holding the light has rusted out and that the light is hanging into the tub! I followed him into our air conditioned interior laundry room and placed my hand under the rim. It’s filled with rust and the light is dangling down into the tub!
Whirlpool is a very good company and their products work very efficiently! If I had a choice to choose in a different type of washing machine I don’t think I could choose. Whirlpool is very reliable. Their older machines as well as their newer machines! They last pretty long. The dryer is dry very well as well as the washing machines agitate your clothes to get them clean.
My new washer is very inefficient. Clothes do not come clean and come out very wet. The cold water only rinse is not an environmental feature... clothes come out so wrinkled that instead of hanging them to dry as I used to (after shaking out the few wrinkles from a warm water rinse in the old washer) I now have use the dryer. This makes no sense to me... I wish I had spent half of the price of this new washer and had the old one repaired... at least then my clothes would come out clean.
I installed my new water heater in 2012. Within 3 months, it was not producing hot water. When I called, a helpful person at the Whirlpool warranty line told me it was because there was too much cold water being mixed into the hot water coming from the tank. I hung up... Called again and was told that they would be able to get someone in 2 weeks out to my house to check it. I told them that was not acceptable. I hung up... I called Lowes, where I bought it. The person on the other line finally, after more than 1 hour, was able to get a repair person out there within 2 days. I had to pay the fee to have the guy come look at my hot water tank, and tell me that he hated Whirlpools. He called Whirlpool, 3 times; he was hung up on 2 times. He explained what had happened was I had a hot water leak, that it probably it was overloaded, the thermostat control everything else was fine. However, that I had installed the heater myself not a professional. Therefore it was not up to NATIONAL code; therefore, Whirlpool refused to honor the warranty. So, short version, in order to get the tank repaired, I was supposed to spend an additional $300-$400 to bring the heater up to code for them to honor the warranty. What you ask made my heater out of code? It is outside in my utility room, and the flue was cut to fit and the OUTSIDE vent pipe was not above the roofline. It didnt matter that it is not in an enclosed space, that this was nothing to do with the reasoning the thermocouple went out.I simply turned up the heat, so far so good. Will I ever buy another Whirlpool? No. I have a Whirlpool fridge bought before the hot water tank situation. The ice maker went out within 6 months of purchase. When I called to have it repaired, the service guy stated he hates Whirlpool. The piece he had to replace was plastic that was replaced with a metal piece that should have been metal to begin with.
My mom got me and my children a new fridge side-by-side ice maker. We were hoping that since it was new, we would have it for a while, but 1 year and 1 month later, it is not making ice and changes temp for no reason. My fridge will, most of the time, keep cold; but then, there are those days that it doesnt. No one touched the temp, and since its been more than a year, Im stuck. How wonderful to spend all that money for a year and one month! We dont have a working ice maker, and also, I cant keep food good. I cant afford to throw food away. And my mom and I cant afford to get another one.
I bought top of the line stainless steel Whirlpool kitchen appliances two years ago. Warranty has expired. Microwave error message showed need to shut door and press start. Door was shut, opened and shut door 20-30 times for microwave to start. Had to buy new Microwave. Now dishwasher now will not drain. Refrigerator ice-maker dispenser is too small and ice keeps getting stuck in dispenser. I am done with Whirlpool.
I am very upset about this Washing Machine and Dryer. I did my research in 2012 and found good reviews on drum size, water usage, bells and whistles. I purchased the set in Feb of 2013 (its on Jan of 2017). NOT EVEN 3 years later, I write to say that my washing Machine is ready for replacement! I paid 989.00 for each and last year the Spring on the Glass Top was worn away, I am told because bleach was splashing up in the spring area. Cost to fix with a local repairman... $235.00. Now I noticed a small amount of water on the floor, move the washer and there is a LARGE amount of water Stain and my cycles keep popping up UL. Two separate repairmen (because I didnt believe my trusted first one) tell me the cost for the shot bearings and seals will cost almost as much as a new washer! I am a family of 3. I have a daycare so do a few extra loads, but am not using this any more than average to low use. Not to mention that on top of all of this the computer appears to be shorting out and to order a new panel the repairman places that at an EXTRA 300.00. SO UPSET! The dryer dries very nicely and is quiet however, the motor went out 6 months ago and we replaced that, not wanting to but better fix than scrapping it only 3 years into a product expected to last well over 10! The little clip on the door to lock it is also loose and hardly locks now. The repairman is having trouble even finding the small part. Young Couple Expecting to have a brand new 1900.00 washer dryer set last a long time only to be out of warranty and already needing to buy a new set! DONT EVER BUY A CABRIO WHIRLPOOL.
I have the top load Whirlpool. Its very roomy for my covers, rugs & towels. It has a setting for me to just clean my washer or if I need to just rinse it. It has a cycle just for that. Or if I need a quick wash or a just cold water wash it has those cycle. When my cycles are done it makes a cute jingle sound to let me know its done.
We have a Whirlpool range that was produced for Kenmore (Sears brand). It’s a glass top with electronic controls. Over the 13 years we have had this range we’ve had to replace the controls 3 times at a cost of over $300 each time. Each time we were under severe lightning storms and got hit with a surge. It would burn out the Control board. We finally got a whole house surge suppressor since a large device is required for 240 volt appliances. Also the glass top has gotten scored over the years. We would not recommend this oven and will likely replace it with an industrial gas stove with manual controls when this one dies or gets too expensive to repair.
I own a Whirlpool Cabrio. I wanted a newer technology (no agitator) washer with top loading capabilities. I ended up with a four to five-year lifespan with this washer. The bearings are busted and it leaks water from the bottom. I have followed loading instructions specifically. It will cost about $1,000 to fix so of course, I am buying another washer and a matching dryer.
Whirlpool washer Model WGD4815EW1. Bought this washer just about 4 months ago and right away I hated it but was told by people that all the machines had gone to the lid lock and that the government had mandated the energy saving devices on the machines so the machine will only put just a little water in the machine. I have been VERY VERY unhappy with this machine. My husband figured out a way to bypass the lid lock mechanism. Then after washing clothes many times I found out in order to get my clothes clean I had to just set the dial to Bulky every time OR I had to wash the clothes 2 times to get clean if I didnt. Once we bypassed the lid lock and then I figured out where to put the knob so the clothes would come clean I was fine until last week the machine just would NOT wash or do anything... it filled with water and just sat there until my husband got the water out. I located a Speed Queen from an appliance store and I am much happier. It does not have the CRAZY lid lock on it. I realize that some children are apt to mess with the washers. But I dont have children anymore and when I did I had a laundry room with a lock up high on the door so they could not play in the laundry room. I dont understand why this so called mandate could not have been done in a way as to allow those with kids to have the option on the machine with a built in code device to set the machine so the lid will lock and those of us without children in the house to opt out of the code to set the lid lock. NO REASON why we cant have a CHOICE. As far as I see it is a way for the government to try control more where they need to keep out. The cars have been designed with safety locks for children to keep them safe, but it is up to you to choose to use them. Same principle! Now for the mechanism to make it so the machine will only put so much water in the machine to wash. Youre NOT SAVING any ENERGY or WATER if you have to wash the loads twice!! This whole mandated business with the newer washer machines is a huge JOKE on everyone. I will be searching out used machines and having them rebuilt because I dont EVER plan on buying another one of these newer machines. If enough people stop buying them the manufacturing companies can raise some cane with the government to get the mandate lifted. NO I will not buy another Whirlpool washer. I encourage some of you out there who LOVE a challenge to figure a way to change the stupid motherboards on the newer machines and create a great business for yourself because if someone else can create it you can recreate it.
