Purchased new Whirlpool 2-door, side by side refrigerator from Standards store in December 2010 for close to TT$10,000. For 2-3 years, it made a very loud noise. Each time it cut off that disturbed my peace and quiet. I complained, to no avail. In early 2015 or thereabouts I began experiencing severe warming problems in the non-freezer compartment and, since that time, I have suffered large losses from spoilage. The warming coincides with over-freezing (icicles, thick frost formation and whirling, dense cold air) in the freezer compartment and icing up of the vents in the non-freezer section. Moreover, the cool air flows from the top vent only when the freezer door is left open. Since that time Ive only been able to marginally cool the non-freezer section by unplugging for up to an entire day, at least once per week. I believe this is a manufacturing flaw rendering the non-freezer section not fit for its purpose although it manifested itself sometime after purchase. My prior experience with another brand has been totally different (13 years and still working). It is totally frustrating. It is also unsafe since spoilage is sometimes difficult to detect. Here, we have to deal with the seller and that is often a hopeless situation, particularly outside of the warranty, as has been my experience with another household appliance. Ive been advised by independent technicians who reportedly have encountered this problem that the solution lies in boring a hole connecting the two compartments which then enables efficient cooling of the non-freezer compartment. Quite frankly, I would like to have the refrigerator replaced despite the fact that it is outside of the warranty.

I purchased a gas range with JDR8895 last 09/06/2007 at Home Depot in Metro
I purchased a gas range with JDR8895 last 09/06/2007 at Home Depot in Metro Denver for approximately $1700.00. I will make my final payment on my Home Depot account next month. I was preparing dinner last September 10, 2011. I had the pans on the cooktop, one on the right rear and one on the left front burners. This was the set up because the right front burner has stopped working some time ago. Both burners were on a low setting as I was simmering pasta sauce and just warming water as I was later going to boil it for the noodles. I was in my living room when I started to smell something odd. When I approached my kitchen, there was a fire coming from the rear of the cooktop and beneath the three burner knobs. It smelled like an electrical fire. I immediately turned off the burners with my hand wrapped in a towel and started putting out the fire by hitting it with the towel and blowing. The towel caught on fire. I grabbed my fire extinguisher and was ready to spray when finally, it looked like it burned out. The smell in my home is terrible, when I tried to test the lower burner it looked like it was catching on fire underneath the knob as well, so i immediately turned it off and batted it with a towel. Im not sure what happened here. I will make my final payment on this range next month and had the previous range in here since 1977 and that still worked fine. I spent a small fortune on this Jenn-Air, only to have it catch on fire that could have potentially burned my house down.On various web sites including consumer affairs, JDR8895 has many reports of fires. If this is a known problem, why has it not been addressed as a recall? My 9-year old was making soup the day before while I was in the living room. This could of easily happened to her! It is a very dangerous situation to put your consumers in!Whirlpool Corporation contacted the appliance repair company, Columbine Appliances, to inform them that they would only be covering the cost of their visit and not the cost of the parts to be replaced in the range (the ones that caught on fire). Through Columbine Appliance, Whirlpool wanted to inform me that this is not a safety hazard and that it was my fault as I got water in the control knobs. This is not true. If I did, I was not aware and was unable to find any literature about that being a safety hazard or that it could cause a fire. I have found and have forwarded to the CPSC many instances of this exact problem, often when the range was not even in use and are happening to other consumers. I am working on combining the data, contacting the other consumers and have since refused service on the range by Columbine Appliances. Whirlpool only tried to contact me after I left them a message regarding the status of the range and that I had no interest in paying for what I viewed as a defect in their range and a safety hazard. I found a news story of this range going up in flames. Its unbelievable that this company continues to stand behind this product and blame these fires on the consumers actions. I am disabled and have an oxygen machine in my home. I have no desire to have this unit catch on fire again and potentially die, especially since water does, on occasion, end up on cooktops. Thank you for your time and attention to this matter.

After 25 years my Maytag died. It was a Sunday so we just decided to go to Lowes & purchase a new one. They could not find my 1st choice so I bought the Cabrio. It is the worst washer I could have purchased. It determines the amount of water you need. Our clothes never seem to be clean & its very noisy. It has no agitator & is supposed to save water. Even putting it on the longest cycle our clothes do not appear to be clean.

Purchased a Whirlpool side-by-side refrigerator model #ED5KVEXVB07 in July 2012 from Sears for about $1000. Unit quit cooling late Dec 2014. I did not purchase the extended warranty, so the Whirlpool 1 year warranty was all I had. The repair technician (local company, not from Whirlpool directly) told me that the compressor had seized up, and the repair would be at least $300. I thought Id call Whirlpool just to see if theyd be willing to do anything for me. Long story short: No. I told the person on the phone: “I will never buy another Whirlpool appliance.” She said: “Im very sorry about that.” After I hung up, I thought: If Whirlpool was really sorry, theyd stand behind their products for a part that should not fail after only 2.5 years.

I loved the Whirlpool Refrigerator! Nice size and always worked well. Had to replace it after condenser quit working. This current fridge is unhandy in many ways. No light in the freezer and size is too small. Had to fit into existing space, but does not have as much storage space as the KitchenAid that fit in the same space.

We have had this dishwasher since 1983 and we still run it on an average of 6 days a week. Features are the fact that it has given all of our dishes, our silverware, our pots and pans sparkling clean looks for all those years. It fits nicely into the kitchen space which was designed for a dishwasher. It never needed a repair. After all those years, this machine still looks fine. After all those years I really doubt if it still has a warranty and it never needed service.

I purchased a Whirlpool duet, model #wfw9550ww00, two years ago with added warranty. The machine stops mid-cycle. The time remaining flashes but no error code. Pressing start would begin the machine again. Sometimes, we could go several loads with no problems and other times it will stop three or four times in one load. Occasionally, pressing start would not work and the machine would require unplugging and restarting. We have had several service calls in. They have said it was the pump, then it was the motor, then it was the pressure switch, and yet the problem persists. They are due to come out again tomorrow for yet another examination to determine its cause. Its the third time in one month. Its a lemon.

On 3/31/2012, we purchased a Whirlpool refrigerator (model #ED5FVGXWS07, serial #HR14602963) from the electronic appliance store called SuperCo, located at 17523 Colima Road, City of Industry, CA. Within around a month, we noticed that things kept in the refrigerator all showed weird phenomena; raw eggs were frozen inside the shells and ice is frozen on food and utensils stored, not in the freezer, but on the fridge side. At the same time, all food kept in the refrigerator turned bad easily, especially during summer time. Cooked food went bad and had a bad smell within just three days of being kept in the fridge. Also, the ventilator-like part on top of the fridge (the part which released cold air) had ice frozen around it from time to time.Obviously, the fridge was not working, as the freezer was not cold enough and the side was either making food turn bad or causing ice to freeze on stuff kept inside. The temperature seemed to be extremely uneven inside. We then asked SuperCo for repairs or a replacement, but they refused and referred us back to the manufacturer, Whirlpool. Repair services have been called three times on 2012, according to the paperwork records I have: a) on 5/31/2012, bad damper was broken and replaced; b) on 6/7/2012, (according to paper records from SuperCo), replaced parts; and c) on 6/20/2012, turned ice maker off and cleaned (the hand writing was hard to read). Then, around December of 2012, after the services, we experienced another great problem with this fridge again. When ice cream was kept in the freezer, they appear to have melted and my brother suffered from diarrhea after eating the ice cream. The ventilator-like part on top of the fridge still had ice frozen around it. We then took pictures as fresh vegetables kept at the bottom drawer of the fridge had ice frozen on it, too. I finally emailed Whirlpool through their official website on 2/7/2013 and asked for a new fridge replacement based on the Lemon Rule. An e-solutions specialist, Judy, replied that the product was warranted for a specified time period for repairs, not the replacement of the product, and Whirlpool declined my request for a replacement.Repair service was then requested by me for the fourth time, through email. On 2/21/2013, this fourth repair company came and checked the fridge. After a detailed inspection, the technician concluded that some parts of the fridge needed to be replaced, one of the parts called the thermostat. Strangely, after he called his company, he changed all that he said before and claimed that the fridge was 100% working and that no repairs were needed at all. Even when we showed him the frozen vegetables from the fridge side that we got recently, he insisted that the fridge had no problems at all and left. The way Whirlpool responded to my request was extremely disappointing, with their refusal to replace the fridge after three complete repair visits, and the fourth visit changing the inspection conclusion with no reason. Of course, the disappointment is greatest with the extremely bad quality of this electronic appliance. As of this moment, my fridge could still not keep food well and is causing us bad health. I think the only way I could go to now is to take action against the company for the lemon refrigerator, for breach of warranty, and maybe fraud.

We have put hundreds of dollars in service calls and parts on these items. I bought them because they were supposed to be good choices. NO way! I have replaced motherboard in washer, belt and sensor in dryer, the washer has had mold in it since week one. Ive tried to clean it but just keep coming back. All my clothes smell like mold and I already have lung problems! Cant afford to buy new right now. But last month my dryer started making terrible banging noise and so repairman says I need another part! I bought the part more money! Just to have it quit again! Now the barrel split! I dont think I should have to pay the money I did for this set and surely shouldnt of had to replace so many things that went wrong or put up with the sewer smell from the washer!

Now my clients are pissed off because they cant move in because whirlpool makes garbage material. So the extra cost it has cost me is totally unthinkable. I purchased a new Whirlpool refrigerator, side by side in August 2013. The ice maker made ice but the size of the ice was much smaller than usual, however we lived with it. Soon it only made about a handful of ice a day, which defeats the purpose of an ice maker. So we called the store we bought it from and they sent a repairman. The problem was not solved until about the 4th visit from the repairman. I was told there was no problem with our ice maker from the first 3 repairmen. In the meantime the refrigerator side started pooling water in the bottom under the bin... Had to call again for that problem (they fixed). Now the door is showing rust under the handles. I have contacted Whirlpool and they have told me thats too bad, but they dont have to do anything because read the fine print, it is not their problem and thank you for being a Whirlpool customer. I am very disappointed in this supposedly good company... Is this corporate America? Never again will I buy Whirlpool.

Whirlpool over stove microwave/convection oven model GH7208XRY-4 - I purchased this top of the line unit in April 2012 for a vacation home kitchen remodel. It wasnt installed until June 2012 and stopped working in May, 2013 just after the warranty period expired. The problem was with the touch screen panel that went blank and the fan/light control switches also failed. This unit has only had light use since my wife and I are retired and use it primarily for heating tea/coffee. I contacted Whirlpool customer service and they graciously offered to cover the cost of replacement parts but I had to pay a service charge of $125. The factory technician said the whole door needed to be replaced since the electronics were not readily accessible so it took about a week to get the replacement door which turned out to be the wrong one and needed to be reordered. The technician finally replaced the door and the faulty fan/light switch. Within a month the fan/light switch failed again but was still under warranty so it was replaced for free. A little more than a year after the last service the touch screen control panel began operating by itself changing screens and beeping randomly. This was somewhat disconcerting but the unit continued to work pretty normally until my wife placed a small plate of leftovers in oven to be reheated for 1 minute. She walked away to do other things and forgot about the food in the oven until we noticed a strong burning odor and found that the microwave was still running some 20 minutes later and had turned the food into a black mass of burned food and the plastic cover was melted and burned.I contacted Whirlpool service thinking that the unit was under warranty from the previous service but they said the parts only carried a 90 day warranty and my only recourse was to pay for another service call and purchase another door panel for approximately $400 or I could buy an extended service contract for $300. Needless to say Im not about to spend that kind of money to, at best, get another year of service from this inferior product. This is simply not a safe product that could have started a deadly fire if I had not been present to stop it when I did. I have probably owned a dozen microwaves from other manufacturers and have never had any kind of problem including a comparable GE unit that has been flawless for over 15 years. I am extremely disappointed that Whirlpool has cheapened its product line to such an extent but I suppose I shouldnt be surprised since I noted this product was made in China.

After reading many of the 1,500 +/- complaints about this inferior product, I guess I should consider myself lucky. Ours didnt fail until this past Saturday, March 22, 2014. We purchased this Whirlpool (American Water Heater Company) water heater FG1H4040T3NOV at Lowes, and had it professionally installed, in October 2004, and we have had no issues until this past Saturday when we woke up to no hot water. After checking for the obvious, and finding no apparent cause for the failure, I considered it a fluke and relighted the pilot. The pilot took a few attempts to light, but it lit, and the burners came on.Three days later, we woke to no hot water again. This time, we placed a service call to the company that did the initial install. The technician came out, and after his inspection he informed me that the thermocouple/burner assembly needed to be replaced. He also informed me that this is a well-known issue, and Whirlpool has been sending out free updated replacement parts. He called Whirlpool, only to be told that they are no longer offering free, updated parts. Whirlpool also cited that the water heater was out of warranty (by less than 5 months). He gave me Whirlpools number, so I could contact them myself. As I smelled a rat, I began to do some online research about this issue, and, to my chagrin, I found out that I was far from alone with this issue. As of this writing, 1,500+ consumer and professional complaints, a settled class-action lawsuit, etc., etc. I contacted Whirlpool, explained my situation to the support rep, and, he proceeded to tell me that he couldnt help me with free replacement parts, due to the warranty being expired (less than 5 months). I argued with him, stating that this is not a warranty issue, but is in-fact a design/manufacturing defect issue, that has resulted in a redesign/re-manufacture. I cited the myriad of online data and negative testimonials, and I reminded him about the settled class-action lawsuit on this very topic. He acknowledged all of the above, was unimpressed, and offered to sell me the parts. After 15 minutes of back and forth, I asked to be escalated to the next level. But, of course the supervisor was unavailable, and If Id care to leave my name and number... yeah, right. Bottom line, Im very angry! I paid good money to Lowes for Whirlpools product, with a nine-year warranty. I had it professionally installed, and we have no hot water due to poorly designed parts. And... I am being forced to purchase the redesigned parts. Its truly unsatisfying to be an American consumer these days!

We bought this refrigerator (Whirlpool Model # WRF9913F1FM00) last August 2016. From day 1, the water coming out from the water dispenser was not cold at all. Same temperature as the tap water. By November, the refrigerator started to get warm. Apparently, the evaporator fan motor had to be changed according to the technician who spent more than an hour on the phone with their technical advisor to diagnose the problem with the refrigerator. After a week, the refrigerator got fixed. Not only did the refrigerator started working again, even the water from the dispenser got finally cold, too. Now four months later, March 2016, the same problem: the fridge started to not get cold again. In addition to that, the ice would not come out from the ice dispenser and water from the water dispenser is not cold again. When my husband checked inside the door, the ice were all clumped together. They looked like they melted. And even the ice in the freezer bin looked the same. And on top of this, the refrigerator was making so much noise. The technician was just here again today.

In October 2009, we purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio topload washing machine for almost $900, because my wifes sister had a 1-year-old one and had been pleased. The Cabrio replaced a 3 1/2-year-old Maytag that died with a seized-up transmission. Maytag is also a Whirlpool product for those of you who do not know. We had issues at first with it going off balance but dealt with it. It was also taking 40+ minutes to do even a small load of laundry, but again, we dealt with it. Fast forward about 3 years, and we notice the machine is making really loud sounds during the spin cycle. I checked for any obvious issues but found none. The noise kept getting louder with each use. Finally, I called a repairman to check it out. His diagnosis was quick. The bearings were going bad in the machine, and he said it would eventually fail. He quoted me a price of between $400-$500 to repair because the job is very labor-intensive. I declined the repair but still had to pay him a trip charge. Then I checked with my wifes sister about hers, and she said hers had been making a very loud sound for several months but they were just ignoring it. I told her about the diagnosis of mine and advised her to tilt the machine back to look under it. Sure enough, there were oil stains under her machine, just like mine, indicating the bearings were failing. So we have 2 Cabrio machines, one 3 years old and the other 4 years old with the exact same problem. I called Whirlpool since I had registered the machine when I purchased it. They basically told me to go fly a kite since I had not purchased the extended warranty. They said I could attempt to repair it myself to save money, but they advised to have their repairman do the work. Well, no kidding. What a joke. They expect you to buy a $900 machine and have to replace it every 3 years. I am done with Whirlpool products. FYI, Kenmore products are also made by Whirlpool, so Sears is not an option. My wifes sister and we bought new GE washing machines, and both of us purchased the extended warranty this time. For $129 (5 years), its cheap, peace of mind. Whirlpool is crap. I would suggest never buying any of their products. I know we never will. Once they have your money, they dont care.

I would not give this any stars! I purchased a Whirlpool gas range (model #WFG371LVB1) just 2 years ago at Lowe’s. The oven heats up to 475 no matter what temperature it is set at. The Whirlpool authorized service agent said it needed a control board which would cost $650 to install. The repair company found one for less--only $300. After reading all of the other complaints about these ranges, weve decided not to repair it and will probably have to replace it soon. We have been Whirlpool customers for years and will not purchase another Whirlpool product. There should be a recall on any of their products that have these continual problems. The oven cannot be safely used for normal baking.

Whirlpool Duet washing machine model WFW9500TW03 - Just after the first year of owning this machine, the metal hinge to the door cracked and the door didnt shut properly. It was replaced. After a couple of years, the bearings and drum of this machine failed. The cost for parts and repair were as much as the machine new. After repairs, the machine never ran quietly again. I have called for repair a second time for the same issue and he has confirmed that its the bearings again causing the drum to dislocate and hence, break the belt that I now need to replace. My problem is with Whirlpool for its defective metal in its machines (many complaints on the internet will confirm this). I believe there are enough consumers out there to file a class action lawsuit.

After almost 5 years of satisfactory performance, our $1200 Whirlpool Duet washing machine WFW9400SU1 requires repairs costing over $1100. Similar to another complaint listed, some parts rusted out, leading to extensive damage during use, which we realized only after the spin cycle became incredibly loud. Now the entire gut of the machine (bearing, drum, arm, casing, etc.) needs to be replaced - $900 parts and $200 labor. I trust my repairman (who said theyd seen this type of problem before with Whirlpool) especially because he recommended buying a new machine instead. I called Whirlpool, and they said they could do nothing for me which made me very angry. This is a mechanical problem that could have been avoided by using proper materials. Whatever happened to the washing machines that would last 15-20 years?

We have had a repair man sent here 5 times from them. The technicians have put two new control boards and a new door lock on it. They have another part ordered for this week. The machine is still not working after five visits from service technicians and they say they cant fix it. The extended warranty service plan says if it cant be fixed they will replace it or send us a check for it. We have contacted them several times and they dont want to make good on it. So we have a broke down washing machine and have to go to a Laundromat every week.

This year, it started to have load balance issues on the spin cycle; in other words, it wont spin without sounding like its going to tear itself apart. It cost $75 to have someone look at it, and to fix it will cost almost $400, and whats next? Purchased WRF989SDAM00 French Door refrigerator in 2013, and 33 months later it is not cooling (fridge 45/freezer 36 degrees). Service call diagnosis is a leak in the sealed component area. Since it out of the 1 year warranty period, nothing is covered. This is the first of Whirlpools dual evaporator models, and is technically challenging according to the service technician. Most likely one or both evaporators are defective, and this type of failure comes with a recommendation to change out the compressor as well as it is moisture compromised. As my previous Kitchen Aids had 10 year sealed component warranties, and the Whirlpool is the same base mechanism as the Kitchen Aid, I contacted Whirlpool to see if they would extend my warranty coverage to these sealed components. Website submission - never got an answer. Called the customer service line - they politely told me they were sorry but there is nothing they can offer me. Even the extended service plan would not cover me as this refrigerator has a preexisting problem and it must be 100% operational to begin an extended service contract.Im extremely disappointed in this fridge only lasting 33 months, in comparison to my previous Whirlpool/Kitchen Aid refrigerators. Of course the internet just allows me to see that Im not alone is purchasing a short lived appliance. So here is my contribution to the internet of things: Do not purchase Whirlpool refrigerators expecting them to last much beyond the warranty period. Buyer beware.

It took about one hour for one load. Today 12/11/18 I spoke to your customer service associates Trina regarding the issue with my top load washer wed4815ew1 serial m82572023. I was told a technician is schedule for repair tomorrow. I try to quick wash two loads, washer progress light only went to wash mode only. I had to press start/pause, select drain and spin to remove excess water. I started 8:30 am and finish around 1 pm. I was waiting for the cycle to finish, twice all progress stages light went blank. I have no idea when it will be done. Machine made noise, not spinning, no water in it. The dryer wtw4816fw2 serial c84621285, I dry at energy prefer setting, when the clothes was dry, dryer continue without the buzzing signal to stop. I had to keep watch of the time and turn it off manually so it not energy efficient when I have to monitor when clothes will be dry.

We have owned our side-by-side model # ED5HVEXVB02 for just over six years now. The first thing that went bad was the ice machine (just days out of warranty). Over the next 4 years weve had to replace 2 of the drawers; they break really easily. Here we are just 6 years out and we are on our 3rd icemaker. This refrigerator is a lemon. I sincerely believe they designed an inferior product so that they could get you hooked. We purchased our 5 door/drawer frig in April. We have experienced two glitches when it failed to make ice for 24-48 hour periods. Now the freezer has stopped cooling. The first time the repairman came out he refused to move the refrigerator because the wheels would not roll properly. We had to purchase a sheet of thin plywood to put under the wheels so he could roll it. (We have vinyl flooring - the wheels just dont lift the unit enough to clear the floor.) When he returned 6 days later, he said the compressor was leaking and was not able to send enough Freon to the freezer section to cool it. The compressor is on back order and we have not been given a timeframe for its availability.

My oven is only 1 & a half old. When I started researching this problem I am having I found many complaints of people having the same problem! As a consumer I feel so mad & frustrated that they are not doing anything about this since its an ongoing complaint from so many dissatisfied consumers. A 600+ washer should clean the basic stuff. I remove clothes after it was finished and some of the clothes have dry spots where the water couldnt make it to. What kind of washer leaves clothes dry?I wish I came across this site when I was at the store. I did a search and the manufacture website and retail gave it positive reviews. I pretty sure the Whirlpool is paying people to write positive reviews. Technicians have come and gone telling me that there isnt anything wrong with it. That their diagnostic isnt detecting anything. Well when I call them again I will have the tech wait while I wash my sons sweaty uniform and then they can smell it after it goes through the wash. This time when I called to schedule the repair call, the woman at the appliance store where I purchased this told me she also has a Whirpool refrigerator and she cant place any food on the bottom shelf of the refrigerator due to freezing. If everyone would submit their complains to Whirlpool, they might do something about this. Submit your complaint to ALL of the followings emails: investor_relations@whirlpool.com media@whirlpool.com whirlpool_customerexperience@whirlpool.com B2Bdevelopment@whirlpool.com. Here is what I wrote to Whirlpool: Model: WTW7800XWO, Serial number: C02670320. I purchased the 4.6 Cu. Ft. Cabrio Platinum Top Load Washer in June 2010. The washer lid has broken 3 times now. Its snapping by the hinges. I have been charged about $300 per lid. I believe the hinges are not durable enough to support the weight of the glass lid. I have read hundreds of reviews regarding the same model and issues, I also have a friend who has the same model and is experiencing the same issues and has had to replace the lid twice now. Im disappointed that Whirlpool has not taken accountability for this and either issue a recall or replace the lid at no charge to the customer. If there has been so many complaints, why hasnt Whirlpool taken action on this? I am requesting that the Whirlpool Headquarters address this issue immediately. When I called customer service to complain about this issue, the rep informed me that they have never heard about this issue before. From all the reviews I have read online, it seems that customer service is telling them the same thing. By not addressing this defect, Whirlpool will lose thousands of customers. This is not the way to retain or have returning customers. This is the first time I have purchased a Whirlpool appliance. I will not be a returning customer if this matter is not resolved.

Purchased Whirlpool Cabrio model WTW6400SW washer and dryer 1/7/2007. The matching dryer was dead on arrival and the second dryer motor died within a year. Washer: 1year 2 month the washer motor died. Whirlpool paid for the part and I paid the labor. The following year, the bearing went out and the outer tub was replaced (the bearing is inside the plastic outer tub - bad design. Whirlpool paid for the part and I paid the labor. Feb. 2011 had one of the F errors. Whirlpool repair tech came out as the tub would not drain and it was a wire that had come loose underneath washer - another service call charge. Dec. 20, 2011, I had an error F50. The Whirlpool repair tech came out, verified no clothes or money stuck in the machine. All clear. He called higher level whirlpool tech and they paid parts and labor to replace the main control board and the RPS Sensor. Im single and am not abusing this machine. Like everyone else who posted. I paid close to $1,000 for this washer (not including the dryer) and I have been a faithful Whirlpool customer for 3 generations, but if Whirlpool doesnt offer some kind of compensation/trade in credit to customers who purchased this (knowing that the design is bad/faulty) washer and discontinue this model. This will be my last Whirlpool. I will have lost all faith in Whirlpool. The Whirlpool service tech that I found is op notch. I will miss him if I have to switch brands. Im putting 1 star as I know this machine will not be operational for 9 years which is the minimum that I would expect. If it makes it to 6 years without another service call, it will be a miracle.

We bought a Whirlpool side by side refrigerator new. When the first one was delivered it had electronic problems. We sent that one back. The next one, same model, seemed to be alright for a few days then it developed electronic problems. My son discovered the problem was caused by a faulty door panel in the freezer. The panel would come loose and if you knocked it back in place the electronics would work until the panel came loose again. Whirlpool would do nothing about our complaint. Now the refrigerator section freezes things. We paid to have it fixed 2 months ago and now have the problem again. The repairman said he had brought up concerns in meetings about the same door problems and been blown off. Our food is freezing in the refrigerator again and Whirlpool has blown us off again. We will never buy Whirlpool again. I trusted Consumers Report when I bought the Whirlpool and that goes to show you that doesnt always work either.

We purchased the model WFC7500VW, 24” washer and accompanying dryer in June of 2015. Within a couple of months, the water pump went; also we continually had to take the front panel off and clean out the filter when we get an A11 code! Now we experienced an F06 code... This code means the washer can’t go into high speed. The repairman (Whirlpool recommended), told us that a new tachometer motor, etc would run $500-$800 with labor! He also said that the noise the drum made was bad. My dryer works fine (only complaint is the grinding noise it makes, which Whirlpool told me is normal)... I would like to purchase a new washer, but don’t know what will fit under the dryer. I do not want ANY Whirlpool product!

We purchased a Whirlpool Overhead microwave and Quiet Dishwasher in May of 2017. Within the first year, the microwave needed new sensors installed. The repair person said this was a design flaw and he was getting many calls. Then at 13 months, the dishwasher wouldnt drain. The repair person fixed the problem and left reset directions because this can commonly happen. Now at 18 months later, the drainage problem wont resolve even with the reset. Whirlpool extended the warranty by 6 months but wont cover this repair. Two appliances, two problems. Dont buy Whirlpool.

My washing machine quit working with one month left on the warranty. In trying to schedule repair I was never able to talk to a live person. Via chat and online scheduling they could not or would not come out for 10 days. Also they would not approve use of a local repairman who was willing to work on it in 2 days. Waiting 10 days for service on a washing machine is crazy.

Whirlpool says this is cosmetic. I maintain that quality construction and material do NOT simply disintegrate spontaneously. I want the control panel fixed under warranty for manufacturing defects. This NEW refrigerator cannot stay in my home looking like this, it is unacceptable to me. Their customer service refuses to do anything. This was somewhat hard to photograph due to the reflection issue.

This piece of junk just broke down not even one year after the purchase. Every singe Whirlpool washing machine has broken one way or another. This one will set the wash time for 57 minutes, and exactly 24 minutes left in the cycler, you hear this big crash and then everything stops. Another dumb thing about this piece of crap is that when the problem happens, the POS keeps the lid locked so that you cant tell what the problem is. What morons would put a lock on the lid? Its not like someones going to take a jacuzzi bath!Restarted the POS again, and exactly 24 minutes left on the wash cycle, there was another crash. Both times, exactly 24 minutes. But surprise, I got a $129 service bill and it couldnt be fixed, computer board gone and drain motor shot. I was told its cheaper to buy a new one. After 10 months of use, we need a new one. Bought this machine in July 2015 to replace LG front loader that went bad.
Bought this machine in July 2015 to replace LG front loader that went bad. This machine is the worst at rinsing the soap out of dark clothes, and probably the whites and lights too! Dark clothes always have white streaks and spots all over them. Called Customer Service and was told it was due to too much soap, the way the clothes were loaded, needed to add an extra rinse cycle to load, and/or because there is a water softener in the home. Have changed soaps 3x, changed the way I was loading the clothes, and I doubt the water softener has anything to do with this problem. I dont see how adding an extra cycle is efficient and seems wasteful. This machine is horrible and whether I just got a lemon or if its a defect in this machine, I dont know. Whirlpool doesnt seem to care either. I am going to attempt to sell this one and will not consider Whirlpool for the next one. Do not buy this machine!!

It knotted my clothes up and twisted them to the point that clothes are so badly out of shape, hems are pulled out and some clothing torn. We no longer use the washer. Also, a very bad film all over our clothing. I have just tonight contacted the Whirlpool company as I have made numerous complaints to the business where I bought it to no avail. The day after buying and using once, the store sent a repairman out and he said use it on delicate. I have done that with the same results. I bought my washer in December of 2011. I am hoping Whirlpool contacts me. If not, we can contact the state attorney generals office, Consumer Affairs and our main TV station to make complaints. I do not have photos as I did not know I would need them. I am giving Whirlpool a chance to respond in hopes that a remedy is available. Maybe as simple as replacing the agitation device.

I will be happy to provide exact details soon but wanted to share I have had most of our clothes and household items-sheets, rugs, towels etc. ruined by this machine. And it is under warranty and Lowes in Dallas, Texas where I purchased it has seen the evidence. I rolled in with a suitcase full of different examples of ruined items and some photos. The repair person Whirlpool sent out was nice but not willing to document clothes and said the machine is fine after a few diagnostics digital checks. He did not run a load of clothes! And it takes forever to set up. My wait was over 3 weeks. etc. Lowes has been incredibly wonderful but states the warranty is Whirlpools decision and all Lowes needs is a RA (return authorization from Whirlpool) and Lowes is happy for me to buy whatever ever washer I like and even are willing to give me a discount as they know how horribly Whirlpool has treated me.The manager stayed on speaker phone with me for over an hour. My husband is a lawyer and I will further pursue this situation as Whirlpool hopes I will just drop it by March when my Whirlpool warranty runs out or give up from protocol internal exhaustion. As they have insulted me in every way... Even suggesting I sell the defective machine to someone else... And I said, How in good faith and having a conscience could I do that? Anyway after spending a lifetime it seems trying my best to get this resolved with a cauliflower ear from being on the phone for so many hours with their resolution leaders and specialists etc. It is obvious I am about to have to go on social media and do everything I can to Save others from this time waster, Save their laundry, etc. and Did I mention at times it leaks a little bit of water out the front. As it was the least of my worries as I was showing nice tech my expensive ruined 900.00 ski pants, ruined shirts etc. I think the machine cost around a 1,000 to 1,200 so... Will get back to you for an update. I have a whole file folder on documentation now and it is not about the money or the fact I cannot wash clothes. It is down to principle... On my third top-level resolution leader in MI. -Jim- basically had me read between the lines that I was dealing with a Fortune 500 company and would never win. He is underestimating the level of frustration and lengths I will go to not be taken advantage of as a woman, a career girl, a wife and a yoga teacher. I will be in Yoga warrior mode and this is disheartening as all I want to do is wash my clothes. Did I mention all my Lulu Lemon pants are ruined and I never put them in the dryer! Only delicate cold etc. Have them remain intact etc. really simple here but Whirlpool not standing by their warranties. And my whole home is outfitted with Jen-air, Kitchen-Aid, Maytag etc. which are all owned by the same company so I have been a very loyal customer who possibly just got a lemon. Or standards at the company have severely changed. More later on developments hopefully. Sad in Dallas.

I need to start by saying I or we, my wife and I are both disabled - her with a head injury and a prosthetic leg and walks with a cane and myself well Im stuck in a wheelchair, this makes grocery shopping more of a chore for us than most people and putting things away is part two for this chore. I figured Id buy the biggest, best (LOL) refrigerator Whirlpool had to offer, so I could do our grocery shopping once a month and have a place for everything and the fridge being so big would be capable of holding a months worth of food. It performs that function very well! The problem began when I purchased this wonderful piece of quality craftsmanship (cough) at Lowes in Denton Texas on 6/19/13. While one delivery guy stood on my sidewalk talking to me, we watched the one other guy bringing my rather large brand new Whirlpool refrigerator up the driveway with a regular (not an appliance) dolly. After getting to the end of the driveway and having to go through the front yard to get to the sidewalk, the monster fridge started leaning and eventually ended up on its side in the front yard, needless to say I was a little concerned about damage. They continued to get it in the house after providing me a nice gouge in the door frame before realizing it may be best to take the front door off before entry. So after getting it to the kitchen and removing the box we noticed the left door was way out of whack, so the delivery guy called his boss and we all agreed I needed a new refrigerator. A week later my second new refrigerator was delivered, no box around this one but it made it all the way into the kitchen without a hitch or any more scraps in the front door frame.Three months of dealing with water running down from the ice maker into the door storage areas I made my first service call, the guy said Whirlpool doesnt always put the correct thickness of gasket between the ice machine door and the ice bucket. He ordered gaskets and installed them the next week. Water continued to run down the door from the ice bucket to the shelf storage. 5/14/14 I called for another problem. The refrigerator seems to be running all the time, and there was a fan starting and stopping continuously as well. This was Miles Appliance - he seen the water running down the door and squirted a tube of sealer in the ice machine, replaced the little plastic fan and said that should fix it! I let the Whirlpool service scheduler talk me into the extended warranty since my one year warranty was about to expire so I bit and bought the warranty. 7/18/14 the fridge had a new sound going on for the last few days and still seems to be running all the time. I called for another warrant service, this time I drew In Home Appliance Repair. After waiting three days a guy comes out, verifies the fridge isnt cooling properly and tells me to unplug it for three days, so the ice ball that has formed somewhere can melt, that the noise I was hearing was a fan rubbing against the ice ball. So three more days go by and I plug in the fridge. Two days later the freezer has only cooled to 50 degrees. I called In Home Appliance Repair and they told me Id have to call into Assurant to make another service ticket, which I did. It takes two to three days for service tickets to get processes. After the second day, I called McNiels in Denton to see when I was going to receive my service, they didnt have a ticket for me. I told them Assurant said they would be providing my warranty service. McNiels told me they only service what they sell! I called Assurant back, they turned it over the scheduling gods. Three days later they set me up with a repairman 45 miles away. After waiting on him for four days he says he just doesnt have time to come by and pick up my refrigerator to take to his shop. I call Assurant again and am told its being turned over to the scheduling gods again. Three more days go by and they set me back up with In Home Appliance Repair. I call and they tell me they will be out on July 7 2014. The evening of July 6, 2014 In Home Appliance Repair calls and tells me theyve decided since the defrosting didnt fix the problem two weeks ago it was a system failure and they dont do that type of repair, they would call Assurant for a different service provider. I call Assurant to see whats up, they tell me A&E Factory will be out on July 13,2014. Now nearing a month WITHOUT a refrigerator and still not knowing how long its going to take to fix the problem! If Whirlpool is trusting Assurant to provide extended warranty service then thats exactly what they should be doing, it certainly isnt my fault they cant get service people out in a timely manner to resolve appliance issues. Its not like being without a stove or microwave - this is a refrigerator!!! This is the poorest service I have ever received from Whirlpool and Ive been a faithful Whirlpool customer for many years. In my opinion they should bring me a new fridge, haul this piece of crap to the nearest dump and be done with it! And after reading some of these posts there are lots of people that feel the same way about their appliances. This type of Customer Service needs to STOP, $2700.00 for a refrigerator and have to deal with crap like this is crazy!!!

Our hot water heater (Whirlpool Mod # BFG1F404053NOV) stopped working. I called the Whirlpool help line and was advised to change the thermocouple as they had been having issues with this particular model. I was advised to go to Lowes, where we had purchased the heater, to get a new thermocouple at no charge to us. After changing the thermocouple, guess what? It still didnt work. I went back to Lowes and they replaced the heater, at no charge to us (they were great during this whole ordeal so no knocks against Lowes). Well, one year later, it’s the same issue. The pilot light will not stay lit. It’s very frustrating as it never goes out at an opportune time. In the past, the name Whirlpool ensured you were getting a quality product. I guess that’s not true anymore.

My Duet Sport washer drum is damaged due to the poor quality of the bearings. I replaced the Whirlpool Duet Front Loader Washer Bearing & Seal Kit W10253866, W10253856 but because the bearings were damaged the drum is also damaged. When I opened the rear panel of the washer the bearings had literally come apart and bearings fell out. All of the floor and the oil/grease was everywhere. I replaced the bearings but it didnt matter because the drum is warped. Priced the drum and it is nearly $400.00 to replace the assembly. The cost of the drum assembly is about half the cost of a new washer. I will never buy another Whirlpool product again. Just a shame that the cost of a replacement drum is so high. What caused the bearings to just explode and damage the drum. What did I do to cause this? Absolutely nothing. I have since discovered that this is has happened to scores of people with this same washer.

Our whirlpool gas range has a defect - the material around the control pane
Our whirlpool gas range has a defect - the material around the control panel is peeling and flaking; it is not possible to clean it and it is likely going to get into our food. It has not been cleaned with anything harsh - I use warm soapy water or stainless steel cleaner. I use the same thing on my other appliances and they look fine. I am waiting for a tech to come and look at it but after reading other complaints I fear that they are going to say it is cosmetic and it is not covered. Sadly, we can no longer wipe the control panel if it is dirty because the stainless steel is flaking off and it gets all over the burners and I am concerned it will get into our food. I am willing to bet the paint that is flaking off is not approved for consumption.I wish I had our old Frigidaire Gallery Series range back. I regret replacing it. Whirlpool was not helpful. They told me to contact the place I purchased it. The place I purchased it said it is a manufacturers defect. Someone suggested painting it with stainless steel colored spray paint which sounds like it is going to look awful. The new panel is $148 but it will need to be installed and if there is a defect how often will I have to replace it? I am very disappointed.

I bought my topload washer 2 years ago along with a dryer. The past month, the washer started sounding like an airplane, ready to take off, whenever the spin cycle was on. Then, it started to not start at all on certain cycles or would start to pump water in and then stop suddenly. I had a repair man in today, and it was not good news. He told me that he sees this a lot, especially with the Whirlpool washers and it is costly. The bearings are shot and will cost close to $500 for parts (alone), not costing the price to have it repaired. So now, I have called Whirlpool. The people there are very friendly and sympathetic. But even though I went as high as the supervisor (the highest authority I could speak to), he told me my washer is not on the recall list! I asked what it took to get it on one. Basically, my complaint was filed and end of story. Well, not quite. The supervisor was kind enough to give me the address for the Head Office for Whirlpool Canada. So people, start writing into this address and bombard them with your frustration: Whirlpool Executive Office, 200-6750 Century Avenue, Mississippi, Ontario L5N 0B7. If you have spoken to Whirlpool, ask for your reference number pertaining to your case and include it in your letter along with your phone number. In the meantime, I will be writing a lengthy letter; and I also went out today and bought another washer! Yes, it was not a Whirlpool, and I will never have another Whirlpool appliance in my home. And I will steer anyone away from this brand name. Good luck to all and start writing!

I purchased this set in November 2013, it is now October 2014. I made the same mistake as many others have made (according to the reviews that I have read on this site). Because I have owned Whirlpool brand appliances before - including washers/dryers - I assumed this new HE machine set would be every bit as good + quality. Unfortunately, I did not do my homework!Everyone is right - this Cabrio HE washer/dryer combo is nothing more than expensive JUNK!. My complaints are all the same as everyone elses: the clothes do not get clean, soap residue remains on clothes, the clothes even have parts of the articles come out of the wash cycle dry not even having had the water touch the articles in areas! The dryer has been repaired once already for a dryer sensor problem & overheating, now both the washer & dryer are making some ridiculous hum-drum noises! Even with the extended warranty that I purchased, I can see the loop holes built into it; theyve got me over a barrel with the nonsense mumble-jumble tactics of having to qualify for adequate service repairs for replacement of parts (3x on each machine) they cant find, before even attempting to negotiate a buyout that will never happen. Never again, Whirlpool anything!!!

Purchased this washer 7 months ago. We are a family of 5 with A LOT OF LAUNDRY!!! I adequately researched a machine that could do large loads of laundry, WELL. I read at least 100 reviews and went forth. (Note to self that anyone giving this machine a decent rating, is a DIRTY, SMELLY, FILTHY LINEN WEARING FOOL who doesnt take much pride in their clothing cleanliness.) I proceeded onward and after paying A LOT OF MONEY for this 4.8 Whirlpool Cabrio Washer, I found out within the first two days of owning it, that IT IS GARBAGE! Regardless of the 4.8 drum size, you can only fill it less than 1/4 of the way with clothes, to even hope they will be touched by water. My clothes come out DETERGENT STAINED & DRY! Insanity... A washer that doesnt wet the clothes!!! We have had 4 repairmen come out within this time, because I am fed up! I have been physically shown and told now, by all 4 guys, that the washer will not fill more than 9 inches with water. They advised me to fill Home Depot buckets and throw them into the drum. THIS IS WHAT I DO, TO SATISFY THAT I AM WETTING MY LAUNDRY - PURE CRAZINESS! The repairmen told me to set all loads to bulky sheets + extra rinse + highest soil. This is a 1 hour, 26 minute initial setting. Note that my adding water messes up the computer readings and it will reset throughout the washing cycle multiple times. Even with all of this... the machine still doesnt wet the clothes!! The top and center of the load is BONE DRY! This machine will not wash sheets, blankets or comforters, either. Dont waste your time trying!!! Dont be fooled by the drum size. Your great grandmothers 1930s 1.6 cu ft washer washed more clothes in any given load. #1 My water bill is through the roof. #2 The washer constantly resets and runs on any single load for over 2.5 hours AND #3 MY LAUNDRY PILES HIGHER AND HIGHER, as you cannot put more than a smattering of clothes in the machine, at any given time! GARBAGE, GARBAGE and MORE GARBAGE!!! I would be better served to find a stream and a flat rock and start doing my laundry colonial day style! I am done... Finally had enough of this insanity! RETURNED THE MACHINE THIS MORNING!!!

I have a 1 year old Whirlpool washing machine (Model: WFW94HEXSW Serial:C04151969). The grease from the drum is found to be the cause of clothes being ruined during the wash cycle. I waited over 3 months for a replacement. The drum arrived broken. I ordered again, and it was then said to be on back order. The water shut off developed a slow leak, causing the water to fill, and flow out the front door, causing carpet damage. We have been forced to throw away good clothes, and pay to have our clothes washed, at a not so local laundromat. We feel it would be more than reasonable to have our washer replaced, and professionally installed immediately.

I have a refrigerator model WRT359SFYM00 that is 4 months old. It suddenly just stopped getting cold. Trying to contact Whirlpool warranty/service department has been a nightmare. Once I did get them they spent almost a week trying to locate someone in my area to service it. I was in constant contact with the phone support person, but they kept telling me its out of my hands a special unit was making calls to find a repair person. After almost a week they informed me they could not find anyone but if I could find someone to service it they would reimburse me (max $250 labor). I spent 5 minutes and 1 phone call and I found someone. They wasted a week bumbling around with wanton disregard for their customer. Their service after the sale is deplorable. They are staffed by people who answer calls but have no ability or authority to fix a problem. Worse yet, they kept telling me it was out of their hands. If not in their hands, then whose? I assure you I will never buy another Whirlpool appliance simply based on this warranty experience. What a horrible way to treat your customers. Shame on Whirlpool!

Within a few months after I purchased my gas hotwater heater, I started having problems with it not wanting to stay lit. It was purchased in 2004. I see that this is an ongoing thing with Whirlpool. Every time I would call them, they would give me stupid answers on what it could be. One lady got hateful with me. I have replaced every part several times and Im having problems. About every two to three months, Im replacing thermal couple. As of right now, Ive been without hot water for eight days. I called and he told me about a trip button that is in the little white thing that has wires going to the thermal couple. I push in on it and then tried to start my heater and it worked. They have never offered to replace it or even give me a discount on a new one. No one should be having so much trouble out of your hotwater tank. This is not normal. These are defective and should be recalled. This company is ripping the consumers off and we need to stick together on this and do something about it. Im afraid to buy another heater because I can see that the new ones are still junk. What do you do?

My experiences using Whirpool ranges and ovens have been very positive. As a matter of fact, that is the brand preferred by my family through several generations. Durability, reliability and warranties have been the main features we have found useful. Most of the ranges and ovens have been replaced at home, always with Whirlpool brand, but with added improvements that manufacturer come up with, in order to integrate our devices to the latest technologies. I would recommend this brand to the readers, friends and neighbors.

I purchased a refrigerator from this company Model #WRF989DAM. It worked for only 14 months. I had service people come 4 times to try and fix it, called customer service and was suppose to get a replacement, paid $300.00 for a different model, been 49 days and still have no refrigerator in my home. Had to go out and buy my own replacement. I have called and sent emails with no response of when I would be getting the replacement.

I bought all my kitchen appliances in Home Depot 4 months ago (April 2014). The wall oven, Whirlpool, never worked. Flamingo Appliances is the name of the company that does services for Whirlpool in my city. They keep changing parts and today is the 3rd visit that the technician will be in my house trying to solve the problem. Customer service in Michigan is DISGUSTING! I probably have to buy another oven because they say they wont replace it if they think its fixable. 3 MONTHS! I will never buy Whirlpool again. I hate them.

We have owned Whirlpool Oven/Range for 3 years, and about 4 times a year, on oven setting over 400 degrees, we get an error message, beeping, and the oven needs to be reset. We also own other Whirpool appliances, and caveat emptor. Buy another brand, please.

I bought an whirlpool stove from conn store in 2007. The oven hasnt work right since day one. They send different people out to service it - still dont work the right. We smell gas when we try to light it. It wont come on 90 percent of the time, sometime we have wait a while to start it. They refuse to exchange from day one, we cant afford to throw our money away so we do more top cooking than bottom.

I purchased the original Whirlpool water heater from Lowes in April 2008 for $372, and an installation charge of $443, grand total - $815. In February 2012 the tank leaked profusely, enough to ruin a section of hardwood floor in the room behind the garage where it was installed. Whirlpool provided me with return authorization, and Lowes provided me with a replacement water heater. So far so good. Since the original installation was done through Lowes, the replacement had to be as well, according to Whirlpool, but now they charged $500 with tax to install the replacement water heater! Grand total now is $1315. Fast forward to May, 2014 and the replacement water heater, just barely 2 years old, shuts off with a code of Bad gas control valve/thermostat. I call Whirlpool and an extremely rude 20-something staffer tells me the unit is out of warranty by one month! The replacement unit has no warranty at all - nada - only the original one does... Is this unbelievable or what?! BUT, they would be glad to send me the replacement of the defective part for $200 PLUS overnight shipping charges, and I would be responsible for all labor charges to install it. Had I opted for this my original $372 water heater would have wound up costing me in the neighborhood of $1800!! I told her in no uncertain terms what she could do with the repair part, and now I am going to go shopping for a water heater that will last me more than 2-4 years, and you can bet it wont be a Whirlpool, and it wont come from Lowes.
