I do not use my oven much, mostly to heat up something. I noticed all of sudden I couldnt get the microwave to work at the same time as the oven. Then the controls stopped beeping. Then I went to heat up the oven and it started smoking and had a terrible smell. I am two weeks out and still no microwave or oven. The repairman was very nice. Came out and ordered parts. I wanted a new oven and I was told no. Parts came in. Repairman came out and nothing worked. Waiting, waiting and waiting. I will never ever purchase a Whirlpool appliance again. This is not my first bad experience with them. I thought maybe they got better but that did not happen.

Another reviewer complained about a knocking sound upon startup. My Brand New fridge has been doing that and I have just ignored it. Maybe I shouldnt. Compared to our original Beaumark fridge, the Whirlpool is VERY NOISY.. Since the actual workings seem fine, I am not complaining but rather quite concerned.Especially after reading the numerous Negative Reviews.

Called 8/24/15 - spoke with representative about our two year old washer. Nothing Whirlpool can or will do.They have no other complaints about rust inside the lid and inside rim at bleach dispenser nor chipping of paint from lid. When asking the Whirlpool representative about the rust, he assured us there were no other complaints. This is hard to believe since our recent research clearly shows that other brands have had to replace tops due to rust. As for clothes not cleaning, no response to this issue. Whirlpool has not trained salespersons and therefore at the mercy of Lowes hard sales tactics and we were very delinquent in researching numerous complaints before purchasing Whirlpool Cabrio Platinum Model WTW8240YWD - Ranked lowest possible from ConsumerAffairs with hundreds of complaints. Whirlpool should be ashamed of product - clothes do not come clean, there is no soak cycle, no way to open mid cycle without losing all water, washer smells horribly, must be cleaned - are you kidding? Who cleans the washer that is supposed to clean clothes with a special cleaner?? We understand safety issues of water in open machine, wonder if Whirlpool understands the need to have a soak feature to clean clothes. Undereducated buyers like us and the totally undereducated salesperson at Lowes were obviously a horrible combination. It was all about sales for them. No one mentioned and we had no clue that the huge drum would not clean clothes even using less water than a traditional machine. We thought platinum meant a high quality machine. It clearly was a cleverly used buzz word for sales not a premier cleaning machine. Never, never, never purchasing Whirpool anything again. Wonder if Whirlpool cares, if they read the ConsumerAffairs reports, if they respond. Our hard-earned money is wasted. Our clothes are dirty, the washer smells, and the top is rusting out!

We bought a new refrigerator 14 months ago and the compressor went out New Year’s Eve. Of course, expecting 30 people to celebrate! The first refrigerator Lowe’s delivered was loud and we called and asked to have it replaced, which they did. The second one was also loud and we debated if we should send it back also but we just put up with it! Second mistake was not buying the extended warranty. Since we have always had good luck with WP we didnt purchase the extended warranty. Neither WP or Lowe’s would do anything to help. The repairman who looked at it and diagnosed what was wrong said the compressor was undersized for the size of refrigerator and that it had worn itself out trying to keep up. He said he would not put in the same size compressor or it would do the same thing. Hence the loud noise of this model. I will never shop at Lowe’s again, and after 30 years as a Whirlpool customer, I will never buy another product from them. Also, if you plan to buy WP, buy extended warranty. They also leak water.

I purchased a Duet several years ago and did not have a clue as to the problems everyone was having. Over the course of ownership I called the city to determine if we had a sewer leak. I had a plumber inspect our pipes. I felt really stupid that it took me this long to figure out it was the washer. I knew it smelled like mildew and have been using vinegar, afresh, Clorox until I am blue in the face. I didnt figure out that the sewers smell was also the same as the washers until I got on line and read about these machines. Finally, I lifted up the gasket around the door and it was completely black with mold. No amount of afresh was going to fix this problem. Do not purchase these front loaders. Feel like they should have been recalled and I really dont understand why they are still in circulation. I have also been having health/breathing issues and I cant help but think the mold is causing my illness.

After the pilot light on my water heater would no longer stay lit, I contacted the Whirlpool technical support number listed on the unit only to be told my unit was still under warranty, but I would be responsible to pay a $65 diagnostic fee and any labor associated with a repair. The technician came and said my ventilation system was the problem and didnt even touch the unit. He then sent a report to Whirlpool that the unit was flooded which voided my warranty. He did not submit photos to substantiate his water damage claim and now Im being told the unit is unsafe and must be replaced at my expense. This all sounds like collusion to not honor the warranty! I will never purchase a Whirlpool product again!

I have owned a Whirlpool Cabrio HE WTW6400SW3 for two years and have had nothing but issues from the start. Control panel was replaced twice under warranty. Also the clothes (socks underwear) were under the tub blocking the drain. This is not covered under the warranty. I was told by the repairman that this is the usual issue. He told me they took the front loader design and just stood it up with no protection from garments and coins getting under the tub, through the under tub filter often and into the drain pump. You are kidding me? Almost $1000 for this washer and its so ill designed. I have read forums that this has been an ongoing issue for several years yet Whirlpool continues to build these. I dont vent to forums often but just now I finished removing the tub to remove 2 socks and 7 cents. Also, I had to remove the drain pump and found another 16 cents inside it. So far the pump has not been ruined but this time water is coming out from the machine so will probably be ordering another pump for it as well. The wife wants it out of the house tomorrow and not another cent spent on it. But it is only two years old. What do you do? If you are reading this because you are searching for a new washer do not purchase a Whirlpool! I have gotten nothing but grief and was put off by their customer service dept as well. I guess after fielding so many calls about the same thing they have been told to just put all the calls off as no big deal. I am sure Whirlpool is making a killing off the sales on this unit. The claims made during the sale convinced me. What a joke. Look around the internet and you will find hundreds if not thousands of the same issues.

My father and I both got the Whirlpool Gold gas furnace 3 seasons ago. I can't tell you how happy we both are! Our heating bills plummeted; the unit is quiet and does a fantastic job. I am 50 and I have to admit this is in the top 5 of the best purchases I ever made. For me to take the time to find a place to write a review 3 years later should be testament to how happy I am. Make sure you have it professionally installed! Don't skimp here…this is the key!

We purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio, top load washing machine WTW6600SW back in 11/07. Last week (todays date is 8/19/11), the machine sounded like a plane taking off when it spins out. When the local service technician came out this week, he said that the bearings are shot. Since the tub and bearings are all one part, we were told by the technician that the part and labor costs would be $379.99 to repair it. We originally paid $799.00 for the Cabrio, less than four years ago. Whirlpool would not even give us a concession of a new tub and bearing part as it was out of the 1 year warranty.

Whirlpool WRT351SFYW 21.1 Cu. Ft. White Top Freezer Refrigerator - Energy..
Whirlpool WRT351SFYW 21.1 Cu. Ft. White Top Freezer Refrigerator - Energy... puts out a very irritating high pitch noise, unlike my previous Whirlpool fridge. The old one was perfectly quiet. I believe Whirlpool is going downhill in every way. WP is buying refrigerators from 3rd world countries and slapping the name on them. The delivery people were very rude with me when I was unable to give them a tip, even though I had to supply my truck to shuttle the fridge up to my house and help them unload it. I also had to go and find them when they would not follow my directions to my house. So, they kept the wrench I loaned them; they did not have their own tools for the installation. And they refused to return it when I asked them to do so. Denvers Customer Service refused to respond in any way to my requests for information or complaints about the noise and delivery. Finally, their head office contacted me a month or two later, and the customer service person had initiated the discussion in argumentative attitude despite my saying I did not care anymore, I gave up on them and dont expect anything from Whirlpool anymore. While she told me that there are standard levels of acceptable noise that come from their refrigerator, while, she refused to acknowledge that they are not my standards, and I am the customer, besides, I had an older Whirlpool fridge that did not make any noise. I am sorry trusted WP, when I tried to upgrade the old fridge - it was an expensive downgrade! Buy LG or Amana - wished I did!

I bought an adapter that I added to the kitchen pipe, drilled a few holes in my cabinets to route the hose and voila! It is small but big enough so it's perfect for me. I didn't realize it had an internal heater so I was moving the hose between hot & cold under the sink but now that I know. I will try the heater. The settings are complicated so you have to read the instructions fully. Before I read them I thought every load took 2-3 hours but they don't. I do like to use the heavy soil setting and that does take a couple hours, but if I'm in a hurry or the load is not that bad I use a shorter 50 min setting. For the drain hose I either put it out the window or put a screen in the sink & tie it to the faucet. You have to tie it down wherever you aim it because the water comes out with enough force to throw the hose. I had a couple incidents of kitchen flood before this stuck in my head, now that sucker is secured well. I intend to make a permanent drain to the pipe eventually but for now I just use window/ sink. This required a longer drain hose. For apartment use, I am very happy.

If you like having to use a funnel to refill plastic water bottles, and enjoy ice splashed all over your kitchen floor then the Whirlpool Gold refrigerator is the model for you. The problem with ice is if you dont have your glass sealed up to the ice dispenser it will shoot ice out over the top of the glass, and even if you DO do that when you try to remove your glass to cut off the ice supply it continues to disperse ice everywhere. TIP: The only way to more efficiently stop ice from spraying all over your wood floor is to do this: When your glass is full of ice, simply open a door on the refrigerator. That IMMEDIATELY stops the flow of ice OR water. Works great, and its the only way to deal with this horrid design flaw in this product....

We purchase a Whirlpool washer model # WTW5000DWI, SERIAL #C842 43102 ON 10
We purchase a Whirlpool washer model # WTW5000DWI, SERIAL #C842 43102 ON 10/30/2019 and it has been nothing but a disappointment. We are senior citizens living on a very limit income with several health problems, and cannot go to a washeteria to wash our clothes. We had a washer that lasted over 19 years and when the motor failed I figured it was more practical to purchase a new washer versus repairing this old one. We had a very reputable Whirlpool dealer here and was very helpful and recommended this washer and the price was in our budget! Was that a big mistake, it does not clean the clothes, does not rinse the clothes with using the 2 rinse cycle and still, does not rinse a load of sheets. I bought a large capacity washer so we could wash 2 sheets at a time. Wrong! You cannot get more than a couple inch of water on the Deepwater cycle, so its like washing clothes on a riverbank on rocks, it rubs clothes together. On my wifes good clothes it will cause little balls of fabrics on them, clothes does not smell clean, and if its real dirty clothes, it will not clean or take the stains out. Its water efficient alright, it does not use any water! Its for sale, and I have talked to a lawyer. Whirlpool customer service was no help at all/All they want was to send a dealer to check it out, the only problem if there is nothing wrong with it that will cost me min. of $125.00. Warranty will cover a manufacturing defect, not a design problem which is what this is. I will just go to small claims courts and get my money back and be done with Whirlpool, hell they dont care! I would buy any washer that is cheaper and has an agitator, without a water efficient features and is top loaded model. It does not pay in this world where large manufacturing companies dont care.

I had a Whirlpool GI7FVCXWY01. Purchase 3/13/2010. I had repairman after repairman come to fix it. The last one probably saved my family and my house. The light in the back corner was not only blinking, but flashing rapidly, much like some wild party light. It eventually stopped. The freezer works perfectly fine, the fridge works when it wants to. The ice maker makes ice some days but not others. The motor on the ice dispenser is completely frozen up. Does that all sound about right? If it does, clean it out and cut the power to it before someone gets electrocuted or your house catches fire.If you cant find the electrical diagram, or the company wants $455 to answer your questions, look under the right side of the freezer draw, but not on the draw. Remove the guard on the very bottom of the unit, near the wheels on the right side. You will feel a plastic bag attached to the underside. Inside that bag is the complete diagram of all the wiring harnesses along with the schematic for the amps and voltages for each wire. Are they telling your circuit board is bad and you will need a new one? Before you do that, inside the fridge compartment, in between the water filter and the ice maker, remove the light cover. Notice that inside that space is the access to another panel. Remove that panel. BE SURE THERE IS NO POWER RUNNING TO THE UNIT FIRST. Here you will find a connection plug with more or less 15 wires that are connected to the main wiring harness. Above that plug you will find a holding chamber. This holding chamber contains water from the filter that is waiting to go to the ice maker. It has dripped condensation on the plug since the day you first turned on your fridge. Your wires are most likely broken and corroded. You will need to have your unit completely rewired, but because of the design flaw that fix will only buy you another 4-5 years. My Whirlpool GI7FVCXWY01 left yesterday 5/15/2014 and none too soon.

Ice machine went out right after the year warranty was up. Convenient right? We called a hometown tech to come out and look at the water valve. After almost 5 years of satisfactory performance, our $1200 Whirlpool Duet
After almost 5 years of satisfactory performance, our $1200 Whirlpool Duet washing machine WFW9400SU1 requires repairs costing over $1100. Similar to another complaint listed, some parts rusted out, leading to extensive damage during use, which we realized only after the spin cycle became incredibly loud. Now the entire gut of the machine (bearing, drum, arm, casing, etc.) needs to be replaced - $900 parts and $200 labor. I trust my repairman (who said theyd seen this type of problem before with Whirlpool) especially because he recommended buying a new machine instead. I called Whirlpool, and they said they could do nothing for me which made me very angry. This is a mechanical problem that could have been avoided by using proper materials. Whatever happened to the washing machines that would last 15-20 years?

I have a Whirlpool cabrio washer (Model: wtw6300 Serial Number: CT3573525) and I am very disappointed with it. The spin cycle is the worst--sounds like a jet engine and gives me the UL error message of unbalance load. The machine was purchased in 2007 but was kept indoors. At the beginning, I didnt care because I had warranty with BrandsMart. I had to call at least four times. But now, I bought the automatic control and it didnt work. For two days, I was trying to balance this machine but it is impossible since the beginning.I contacted customer service and they advised me to contact the repair service in my area to get a diagnostic analysis of the issue. Hello! I already know what the problem is after reading all these reviews! I cannot tell you how pissed off I am. I will never purchase anything Whirlpool. Two of the gas burners of my Whirlpool kitchen, after two years of use, are no longer working. I will definitely contact BBB as soon as possible. Come on, fellow complainants, let us continue to fight to get a possible recall soon! We all have the same problem because this is a manufacturing defect!

Do not purchase (Whirlpool products). Discuss guarantees with salespeople when purchasing! They are total sham and in fact borderline fraud! Purchased $5,000 dollar KitchenAid fridge only to have it breakdown after only 8 months. What they dont tell you is instead of recalling a product they give their repair personnel whats called a notice which means they know there are issues with their products! After much discussion and trying to return the product to no avail, I was told very adamantly my fridge would need to break down another additional 2 times before my fridge would be replaced with a new fridge. Forget about the cost of your food inside the fridge, they dont care! Just beware that their warranties and parts and labour are a complete and utter joke! My advice after much research if you can afford it buy Miele or Subzero product. Its more expensive but a lot less headaches in the long run! Ive eaten the cost of my KitchenAid appliance and went with a Subzero fridge. Dont believe the higher pressure sales pitch from salesman. Youre best to call a repairman and ask what hes fixing more often than not and 9/10 times he will tell you Whirlpool product! Customer service is a complete circus and gong show. Youll get further ahead talking to a donkey!!! Buyer beware! Whirlpool Canada/USA is a joke!!! Dont say I didnt warn ya!!!

Received call Feb. 3 that the earliest they could deliver would be February 19, almost 2 months after purchase of refrigerator. Sears, where we purchased the refrigerator, told me that they have been dealing with this for 10 years with Whirlpool. Why would Sears sell products to their customers with this kind of delivery problem? I bought a Maytag front load washer on October 24, 2010. I have not been able to use it because it came damaged by the manufacturers. I contacted them by phone several times and it took them three months to send someone (A and E sears repair). Two months passed and I did not get the parts necessary or a replacement washer. I kept calling and finally they sent someone again in May 2011. They said they where going to order the parts because the new company was not going to replace the machine, even though it was already damaged. They said I would get the parts between three-five business days. I only got one part. A and E sent a repair guy again on the 22nd of June. This one said they needed the entire machine in parts and that he would order the parts. I called A and E one week later and they said they were waiting for the on manufacturer to send the parts (Whirlpool). The 26th and the 27th of July, I got the parts. On the 22nd of July, another repairman came and said we needed more parts. Today, August 16, 2011, I called Whirlpool and A and E and now they said the parts wont be here till after October 26, which by then I would have to pay for the parts and labor if I wanted it fixed because by then the one-year warranty would have expired. So here I am with a $700 washer, which was never used and they refused to fix/replace. They sold me a lemon!

I have made several calls to Whirlpool and basically was told too bad. I see that there have been several complaints with the product and they have stopped making it. On one repair visit we were told that they were replacing a particular part because they were having so many problems with the heat blocker that goes under the glass top that they made it thicker and were hoping that this would solve the problem. It did not.The thing that really has sent me over the edge is that last night I was just boiling water and I heard a pop that came along with a smell (electrical burning smell) and the range blew a fuse and now the cooktop part just shows the deadly error F47. I am so disappointed in Whirlpool and their customer service and too bad attitude. You would think when you are spend almost $1800 for a range that it would not have problems so quickly and pretty much render useless in less than 2 years. Also shame on A.J. Madison for selling extended warranties through a company that has such a bad ratings with the Better Business Bureau. The only reason I gave 1 star is because you cant have no star.

Just bought this washer, its making a lot of noise, sounds like something is grinding (metal, gears, etc). I thought Whirlpool was suppose to be good. I just had my Maytag go out after 18 years of service, thought about getting another Maytag but found out Whirlpool makes those. As many complaint as I see, seems there needs to be a class action lawsuit against Whirlpool for shoddy work.

Bought a dryer (wgd9050xw) 3 years ago. We bought a more expensive one than we had originally picked out. Every year its had to have a repair of same part. First year it was under warranty which tried to bill me so I had to dispute the charge. Charge was finally dropped. We just had it fixed again for third time in 3 years. Its a fire hazard because belt wears a pulley and basically melts it and gets belt hot. I just contacted Whirlpool and awaiting response.

We purchased a Whirlpool upright frost-less freezer (model # EVL201NXRQ05)
We purchased a Whirlpool upright frost-less freezer (model # EVL201NXRQ05) in October of 2008. So, you see, it is not even four years old. A few months ago I noticed that some things in the freezer were very soft. I looked at the back of the freezer and there was some ice buildup around the area where the coils are located. I took everything out of the freezer and removed the panel over the coils. There was major ice buildup on the coils. I completely defrosted it and dried it out. I restarted it and it seemed to be working okay. But a few days ago, when I got something from the top shelf of the freezer, it was not even frozen. So, here I go again. I removed everything from the freezer and have defrosted it again. However, this time, as soon as I turned it back on, the ice started building up on the coils immediately. It is impossible to contact anyone at Whirlpool that gives a crap. We have also been having problems with our Whirlpool Gold refrigerator. We have spent over $250 on it and it still is not working properly. I would love to just throw them in a ravine, but we have spent a lot of money on these appliances. We thought that Whirlpool was supposed to be number one in appliances. What a huge mistake we have made and it is costing us dearly.

Bought a Whirlpool hot water heater from Lowes 1/08/12. In May of 2013, it would not work. I had to replace the Gas Control for around $100.00. It was 4 months off warranty! The same thing happens 3/2014. They sent me a new Gas Control Valve free and shipped it overnight. This is no fun to fix. I cannot believe that I need to flush the tank out with cider vinegar every 6 months. That is why I was told it keeps breaking.

I bought this washer less than 2 months ago and I am devastated to say the least as they are not even remotely cheap. Appears that is doesnt come close to using enough water or enough agitation to get even 2 pieces of clothing clean. What good is 5.8cu (largest size tub) if you cant even wash a load sized for non HE washer. I am forced to wash a 1/4 of the amount of clothing now vs my previous standard washer, if I even want half cleaned clothing. I have tried every cycle with no difference.Doesnt use enough water but appears to spend most of the cycle time, filling with water. I know that sounds contradictory, but there isnt really any other way to explain it. Might as well not even have an (agitator), I use that word lightly here, as it does nothing to help clean the clothing inside. Pre-programmed cycles are not enough to do what you need it to do. Because of the pre-programmed cycles, unable to place clothing inside, fill with water, agitate a little and then stop or pause long enough to let contents soak for a while. I really miss being able to do this with my previous Whirlpool washer. It doesnt matter how little or how much detergent you use, the results are always the same, clothing comes out partially dry and dirty. Usually requires 2 or more wash cycles to remotely obtain clean items. Most items never even go under the water, no matter how much water it decides to fill with. I am so disappointed with Whirlpool with this fiasco they call a washer, with their name on it and they should be also. I have never owned any other brand than Whirlpool, so I didnt hesitate to buy this set, as I had wanted them for several years and finally made the decision to purchase and what a mistake this was. Will never make this mistake again. Whirlpool needs to correct this for every customer that has purchased these washers or risk ruining their reputation.

We purchased a Whirlpool gas range on 12/3/11. It was to be delivered later that month and days before delivery we received a call the stove was damaged. They asked if we wanted it and could get it at a reduced price. We said no, we wanted a new one and that one was delivered on 1/4/12. This stove has had many service calls to fix the ignite for the oven. The ignite and a circuit board for this problem has been replaced many times. The smell of gas in the house is terrible from the many times you try to light the oven. This problem has happened many times when a family event was going to be done (Thanksgiving, making Christmas cookies). It is also very poor advertisement for the company and stove to have this happen when there are so many people around. They will have a tendency to spread the word by mouth. PS: When we called (12-13-13), the woman stated after 4 calls for the same thing there should be a replacement or a refund of money (All the calls have been for the same thing OVEN IGNITE and GAS SMELL).

In 2009 I bought 2 (yes 2) machines (one was for our daughter). I also took out 5 year warranties on both (good job I did). Within the first month on our machine the paddles flew off and after a bit of a debate with the insurers we had another machine (same model). Within a short period from date of purchase both machines had a number of faults - circuit boards, weights that came loose! and bearings going. There are other bits but too extensive to list. To be fair to the insurers they were no trouble (it really is the inconvenience of being without a washer and having to schedule time to get it sorted out). I will never ever buy a Whirlpool as all of these (3 in total) have been a nightmare and ours is sounding noisy again (it only had a new drum 12 months ago for bearings - yes you need a new drum for that £200 in all!!) so I am really glad that we have the insurance. When that runs out and the machine is dead (whichever comes first) I think we will will be buying either a Beko or a Samsung that are getting really high ratings. Anyone reading this might wonder why did we buy these in the first place. Well a colleague of mine at work had one and said it was fantastic (she had children so used hers a lot) hence me buying them (and they were not cheap by any means, so thought we were getting a cracking pair of machines....cracking, yes they might as well be as a chocolate fireguard has more reliability...WARNING DO NOT BUY A WHIRLPOOL WASHING MACHINE - IT COULD DAMAGE YOUR SANITY! AND FAITH IN HUMAN BEINGS TOO!!!!!

I have had this machine (Indesit IWDE126 Washer/Dryer) for a very short time; the washer is great. It does a 20 minute daily wash which is good however the dryer part screws up everything you put into it and ironing, even with steam, makes no difference at all. The WORST part is the organisation DONT CARE. I wrote to the Chief Executive, Jeff Fettig, who neither acknowledged my complaint or responded to it. I made this complaint in October 2016 and STILL do not know what the outcome is. If you are reading this review I honestly would look elsewhere for a better machine. Try MIELE. They are expensive but 2000% better.

I purchased a home from Pulte and closed in June of 2020 and had no choice but to take Whirlpool appliances. Pulte does not offer high end appliances in order to maximize their profit. The first thing that failed after only 3 months was the Microwave and because we didnt want to get the same cheap microwave we upgraded and paid 400 for a Kitchen Aid, same size but never received the trim kit that matches the oven that came in sometime in October 2020. It is now January 2022 and we are still waiting for the trim kit. Every time we call to find out we spend hours on the phone. The refrigerator is a cheap version of the worst refrigerator made in China, the ice maker works ok but ice gets stuck in the chute and when it doesnt get stuck half goes to the glass and the other half to the floor. Poor design and we are stuck with it. Tried to buy an LG from Costco but it wont go through the door so again we are stuck with this small refrigerator with no room for groceries for two people. Stovetop is also cheap, only looks good the day we got the house, one of the burners would go off when turned to low with gas still flowing. Grates look 10 years old but must admit we cook every day. Oven will not calibrate and it is not accurate so we have learned to set everything 10 degrees higher to make up for the variance. Dishwasher had issues as well, unless you run it for 3 hours the shorter settings always have dishes or utensils still soiled. Warranties have expired after one year so it is now time to replace almost everything if we want decent appliances. Very disappointed but I blame Pulte for buying cheap.

We bought model WRS571CID*** which has an in-door ice maker that has stopped working after exactly 3 years. An excellent authorized service rep advised that the wire harness from the freezer to the door was damaged by chafing from normal opening and closing the freezer door, which has caused the ice maker wires to break, thereby disabling the ice maker. The only remedy is replacing entire the door, which would cost $1700 according to Whirlpools published repair data, which he is obligated to charge. Apparently, the wiring harness is not a replaceable part, because I suspect the labor hours needed to disassemble and reassemble the door is prohibitive. Well, a new fridge costs about the repair. I spoke to the Whirlpool company about whether they acknowledge that the design is faulty and that the door should be replaced at their expense even out of warranty, and they declined. So I advise prospective buyers to be aware of this issue and watch other reviews. There are many customer reviews on various sites complaining about this very issue. Our workaround is to put ice trays into the freezer to make ice, and while the dispenser still works, pour the ice thus made into the ice dispenser manually - until the wire control that also becomes damaged and stops working. I would not recommend buying this model.

I purchased a Whirlpool microwave model #WHM3205XVS1 on October 2, 2011. The handle broke off in little pieces and was repaired in March 2012. Handle broke off again in little pieces in September 2012. This will be the 3rd handle that will continue to break in little pieces every 6 months. According to both repair men that were here, this is their comment: No customer abuse, this is a very common problem with this model. After to speaking to 3 people at Whirlpool, I was told by everyone, This is cosmetic problem and we will not fix after the 1 year manufacturers warranty is up. I started with the the first person, went to her supervisor, then went to her supervisor. I am now waiting for a call from a manager although I was told I will continue to get the same answer no matter how far up the chain of command I go. So, I was told that it is okay to have 2 screws sticking out holding the remaining part of the handle that is left, because it is a cosmetic, not a functional problem. I will never stop with Whirlpool. I will call 4 times a day if necessary. I will never purchase another Whirlpool product again! I will tell everyone I know not to purchase one of their products. Be careful. They manufacture products for many other companies, i.e., Sears, Amana, Jenn-Air, and many, many more.

I have had my Whirlpool W10280546B HE washer for 1 1/2 years. For the last year, I have had constant problems with the washer leaving a large amount of residue (in spots) all over my laundry. I have always run my washer as instructed, and I only used HE detergent in the correct amount. This residue appears to be fine lint, but may be lint combined with detergent.I have used the washing machine cleaning tablets and powders, but this has not helped at all. No one seems to have ever heard of this problem. I have to clean off these spots which cover approximately 1/3 of each article with every washing. The dryer helps get some of it off, but not nearly all of it. Any suggestions besides buying another washer of another brand after only 1 1/2 years?!

I was so excited when my husband bought me this as a gift this past year as we are a family of 6 which means lots of laundry. The first few months I assumed it was operator error trying to learn how the new one worked. Well here we are months later googling why it makes my clothes dirtier coming out than they were going. It leaves black linty looking streaks on all my white clothes, both inside and out and leaves white linty looking streaks on my darks, also both inside and outside. It DOES NOT REMOVE PET HAIR AT ALL! If you purchase one, and have long haired pets that shed, expect to invest in some lint remover. Im on my third type in an attempt to save me time. I will say OxiClean laundry detergent seems to be the only detergent that actually cleaned the clothes. Sadly, stores around here stopped selling. And whatever you do, DO NOT USE LAUNDRY PODS. It DOES NOT DISSOLVE THE HOUSING AND LEAVES SLIMY RESIDUE ALL OVER YOUR CLOTHES. I believe this is due to the fact that despite the setting, it uses little no hot water. Which would be great if it actually cleaned your clothes. I could run my clothes under a faucet with no soap and they would cleaner than this pos. Bottom line. Dont waste your money and if you do keep your expectations very low!

I paid a lot of money for this because I thought it would be high quality and last for quite a while without problems. First of all, you HAVE to open the right door before the left door and then remember to ALWAYS close the left door first and then the right door. If you dont the doors dont close well and your refrigerator gets hot AND THERE IS NO BUZZER OR ALARM TO TELL YOU THE DOORS ARENT CLOSED. After 2 years the freezer repeatedly freezes up and then the refrigerator heats up. My repairman says the controls on this refrigerator are WAY odd and instead of just buying an inexpensive part (defrost timer for example for $50) he need to order the entire control for probably 3 time more. NOT WORTH THE MONEY OR TROUBLE. BUY ANYTHING OTHER THAN WHIRLPOOL GOLD.

Dark clothes always have white streaks and spots all over them. Called Customer Service and was told it was due to too much soap, the way the clothes were loaded, needed to add an extra rinse cycle to load, and/or because there is a water softener in the home. Have changed soaps 3x, changed the way I was loading the clothes, and I doubt the water softener has anything to do with this problem. I dont see how adding an extra cycle is efficient and seems wasteful. This machine is horrible and whether I just got a lemon or if its a defect in this machine, I dont know. Call them immediately on December 26, 2018. They set up a schedule for the following week on Monday. The man showed up. Could not believe how this could happen is that he had ordered me a whole new. Dealer said it will be back on Thursday or Friday that week. The serviceman still hasn’t called and it’s Friday. Called the serviceman no answer so here I go another week or two with no oven. The oven door fell when I opened it to take food out and fell in my legs. Have a nice black and blue. Maybe I should think of suing them instead of getting it fixed.

We purchased a top of the line (we thought) Whirlpool stainless dishwasher
We purchased a top of the line (we thought) Whirlpool stainless dishwasher 15 months ago from HHGregg. All was fine until 2 weeks ago - it produced a burning smell and was making a funny noise. We had it looked out. The motor is burning out. I called Whirlpool and explained the issue. There is nothing they can do. It is over 12 months. Really? They cant stand behind their product? I understand if it was a small part or such but an entire motor burning out in just over a year? I know that not all products can be perfect, some times mistakes slip through the line. I guess it was silly of me to expect a company in todays age to stand behind their name and product. Obviously, with this company, it is buyer beware.

I purchased a Whirlpool WTW6600SW in January 2010. I dont normally purchase an extended warranty, but it was a fairly expensive washer. So I did. In July 2011, water starts gushing all over the floor. After my first visit to see what is wrong, I ordered a part. I was out of a washer for 2 weeks. Then in August 2012 the same thing happened. This time the repairman didnt get the part on properly, so they had to come back a third time. I am out of a washer for about 3 weeks. Now, October 2012, it is doing the same thing again! Customer service tells me it has to be repaired for the same problem four times in the same 12 months in order to receive any replacement value. It will have to break two more times! This washer is a piece of junk!

We bought this Gold series refrigerator in 2013.. Less than a year we started having problems with rust on doors. It was so embarrassing people could see this. After that it was like one part after another, the motherboard, the ice on fridge, the ice maker. They changed the same part several times. Now April 2015 they say vapor cooling is not good and they have to put coolant and replace another kit.. Now we have to wait 1 week for that part. Meanwhile our food is going to go bad. Ive been calling for years about this lemon of a fridge. And the last time I spoke to somebody they say buy another fridge while youre waiting on the part to come out. Wow. This is literally driving my family insane.. I cant believe they just expect us to let this happen.. We paid about 2,500 for this lemon of a fridge.. I see so many complaints and youre telling me Whirlpool can get away with this.

I closed on our new home in December 29, 2019! The first issue we experienced with our Whirlpool Oven was March 2020! The first technician who arrive in March 2020 was supposed to replaced two parts, but, one part in her possession was the wrong part that Whirlpool ordered for an electric oven, not a gas oven! Since March 2020, three additional technicians have been sent out from Texas Home Appliance Center, and accomplisnhed nothing! As a matter of fact, the third Technician, Edward, came out to service the oven and all he did was turn the oven on! He had no instruments and did not appear to check on any other issues! Three visits from Technicians later, I finally received a call from a Whirlpool Supervisor, today approximately, 1:47pm CST! Her explanation was the following: The documentation from the so-called professional technicians stated there was no issues with the oven! Even though the oven is still not operational according to its specs! Theres even one part that is missing where Whirlpool ordered the wrong part, ac cording to the Technician. And, we never heard from that Technician again with respect to the followup on the missing part! The Supervisor I spoke with today ~1:47pm today, Dec 9, 2020, stated I was welcome to call again to place a warranty work order, but, if they dont find anything wrong with the oven, I would have to pay for the visit! This is ridiculous on many levels. I will be writing other reviews to influence the public not to purchase Whirlpool Ovens if this is the kind of Customer Service Orientation they will received. This is unacceptable Customer Service Orientation! I have a Whirlpool oven, where 3 techncians have serviced it, and, it still doesnt perform correctly! It still takes 30 minutes to cook a can of biscuits, and, they still required more time in the oven! Whirlpool states if the documentation from the technicians states the oven is working properly, then, Whirlpool cannot do anything for us - even though the oven is still under warranty! UNACCEPTABLE! Ive purchased my last Whirlpool Oven!

The first washing machine I bought was a Cabrio. Started having problems right off. After the repair people had been there several times we finally got Whirlpool to replace the machine. We got another washing machine. We bought two warranties because it kept tearing up. Repair people said this time it would take $1500 to fix it so of course AIG said, We will not pay this much. So I have a washing machine I have spent $1600 on and it leaves, greasy spots all over my clothes. So fed up with Whirlpools trash!!

Hi. We purchased a french doors 32 cubic feet refrigerator from Home Depot in January 2017. Since day one it has not worked correctly. We have dual ice makers and neither one works. The fridge doesnt cool at all! Whirlpool sent out an appliance repair company who said they ordered the parts. Its been 2 months and guess what still no parts on order and still have no refrigerator. So after 45 or more minutes on the phone with them for the millionth time we came to the conclusion that we are stuck with a POS refrigerator! They refuse to swap the fridge out. They said Home Depot would have to swap it and its against their policy. (Thats another complaint department.) We will never recommend a Whirlpool product again. Never buy Whirlpool. They love taking our money and thats where they stop.

I have been unhappy with my Whirlpool Cabrio washer since I purchased it from Lowes. I should have looked online before I bought it and then I would not have made the mistake of buying it. The washer leaves soap deposits on the clothes and sometimes leaves a colored soil. It has ruined numerous clothing by tearing out hems of towels and wash cloths and tore a hole in a favorite sweater. I prefer an agitator in my washer. From what I read, I will soon begin to have other major problems and then I will replace it, but not with a Whirlpool.

However, my second water heater did the same exact thing in a different location on the tank after 2 1/2 years. It also flooded my basement.I am now on my third Whirlpool water heater in 5 years and the one I have now has a bad thermistor. It has cost me about $225 each time the water heater has been replaced. We had Whirlpool techs come out and were continually unable to fix the issues. Eventually they told them that it was not broken, even though one tech told us it definitely was. After four service calls they just stopped sending out techs and told us too bad. Now after less than two years it is leaking from the bottom. Yeah, Whirlpool, theres no problem with it. We purchased our new home in February of 2012 and found a good deal on a 6 appliance package from a local dealer (not box store). In these four years, had to replace igniter in gas range oven. Weve had 3 repair visits for the fridge, dead ice-maker, temperature imbalance freezing vegetables, meat drawer constantly falling off tracks, door shelf rails fall off and all shelf contents fall to floor. Dishwasher rinse dispenser has never functioned, never empties. Technician claims it is working as designed. Washing machine - 3 separate service calls. We finally decided to buy a different brand last year. Only the dryer and microwave have have performed as expected with no service calls. The package deal saved us about $500 but in just 4 years we have spent over $1000 (including $400 to buy a new washing machine). VERY disappointed in this brand.

They said I should receive it by Wednesday August 27th. I had to pay extra for the shipping. Here I am September 2nd w/ no bracket. Called again. They said it wasnt next day shipping, it was 2 day shipping and its at the post office. But the shipping number they gave me was for the one screw. I believe I should get my money back. I spoke to a supervisor, took her number down. Still waiting for a call because the mailman came and I didnt receive anything yet again.

An awful washer, a year after our purchase the spin cycle is so loud we have to close the laundry room door. Now it has been leaking into my basement. I called a repairman, explained my problem. He suggested to junk the washer, it will cost more to repair than buying a new washer. In addition my clothes did not clean properly, soap stains on clothes because it does not use enough water. We bought this dishwasher new from the Brick 2 or 3 years ago. It was bought not because old dishwasher wasnt working, but we needed a new fridge and stove so we also bought a dishwasher to match the new stainless steel fridge/stove. If I could give 0 stars I would. Biggest complaints: It doesnt matter what soap, what setting or how much your rinse/scrape your dishes THIS DISHWASHER WILL NOT CLEAN THEM. Its very rare it actually cleans a dish or utensil properly. If your plate had ketchup on it, it wont clean it. But if you had a sandwich on the plate and managed to not get ANYTHING from your sandwich on the plate, it would come out clean. The drain constantly clogs. We rinse everything, but the drain hose constantly clogs to the point the unit wont drain. Have to remove the unit, take off hoses and blow them out. It clogs because the strainer at the bottom of the dishwasher which is supposed to stop stuff from going down the drain hose doesnt work. If you look at the strainer and the system they use to stop stuff from going down the drain hose. Its no surprise it doesnt work. By design it cant work. My brother in law is a licensed appliance repair man. Sears actually paid for his schooling. He installed and hes fixed the clogged drain numerous times. He agrees. Worst dishwasher ever.

We purchased a Cabrio washer in August 2013, in early August 2014 we noticed that it was not getting all of the detergent out of the clothes (noticed it on the dark clothes after drying). We use less than the recommended amount of HE detergent and dilute it in the dispenser, also always use the extra rinse. We just had a Sears service man out at a $100 cost only to find out that he gets these calls all of the time and the machine is operating at the factory settings. After reporting the problem to Whirlpool all I got was we are sorry and a link to how to operate the washer. In the demonstration video it clearly shows that the water level never covers the clothes. I know Im old school but in my opinion the water should cover the clothes so it can properly wet and agitate the items in the washer. To say I am less than satisfied is a gross understatement. Im out the cost of the washer plus an additional $100 and after a year of ownership and contacting Whirlpool less than a week after the factory warranty ran out all I get is an Im sorry you do not know how to operate a washer.

Occasionally, the machine simply decides to stop and drain itself so that you can start all over again!! No idea how long cycle is. Nearly done? No idea. No matter what temp or how much detergent or how much water, the clothes are not clean. The lid locks and so there is no way to know whats going on. I purchased a 50 gallon Whirlpool water heater, model FG1J5040T3, in November, 2005, and have had the same experience as reported by the hundreds of others, whose comments I have been reading. Basically, pilot wont stay lit. I called Whirlpool, relight the heater, when it doesnt relight, wait to receive repair parts, call a plumber, and pay to have them install it, then repeat same problems. Each time going for a week or so, without hot water. After relighting the heater 10 times in the past year, and service calls, Whirlpool authorized me yesterday to return it to Lowes, and get a replacement. I need to hire a plumber to unhook it, haul it to Lowes, get the new one, and install it. It cost me about $300 to $400. Will the replacement be any better? My Cabrio was built in April 2016, its now Feb 2019, and its not working. Shows error code of LF, the inlet water value is bad. I bought a Sears protection plan, repairman comes out, tells me no-one has the part anywhere, its backordered and no way to know when it will deliver. Sounds like a scam so Sears doesnt have to fix it and Whirlpool makes little to none of the part so you have to buy a new machine. This machine also takes forever to wash clothes, sometimes part of the clothes come out dry because not enough water. Its a huge tub, but of no use because theres not enough water to clean properly therefore, you have to do small loads. I always put it on high water because the other features like, quick wash & normal do not give but only little streams of water! The first one I had delivered made a funny noise from day one so Sears replaced it the next day. This one has NOT even lasted 3 yrs. There needs to be new legislation placed upon these companies with regards to the products they make. It should be illegal to make such junk and be able to charge high dollar for it and it doesnt operate well or last very long. They are laughing all the way to the bank on everyones dollar, intentionally making products that last less than a few years! I Will NOT purchase Whirlpool or any of their products again! Whirlpool Refrigerator Model # GI6SARXXF 04 Ice Maker - About nine months after purchasing this unit the ice maker began to stop working. I researched what the issue might be. During this time, the ice maker decided to begin working again. This occurred again about 15 months into ownership. At 19 months into ownership, the ice maker no longer works after approximately 5 weeks. Whirlpool will not allow me to purchase an extended warranty. I was told by a CR on the phone. However, she did offer a Repair +1 service contract that cost $345.55. I advised the CR that on the Whirlpool website, I was offered an extended warranty for 2 years for approximately $165.00. After waiting for her to check into my claim of being offered the extended warranty for about 10 minutes, she came back to advise me that no existing issues would be covered. In other words, my $2000.00+ Whirlpool refrigerator is so crappy that Whirlpool only offers a 1 year warranty. And unless I pay $345.55 and/or a service tech charging $129 for a trip charge only, I will not have a working ice maker. Additionally, the capacity for ice storage is extremely small, even for my 2 person household. At times, the ice comes out crushed even though the setting is for cubed ice. The ice shoot is great for taller glasses, but if trying to use a shorter glass, watch out! You will have ice all over your floor every time!

Whirlpool Washer Front Loader - Ripped off! It cost $250.00 to repair; the serviceman was at my home all of 15 minutes. The below or otherwise known as the rubber seal was ripped up and caused my washer to leak water all over the floor. So how many of us wash clothes with zippers?!I called and ordered the part from Sears thinking this was possibly something we could fix ourselves, only the part was on back order and would take a month before it was in. Therefore I looked online and could purchase the part, delivered for $91.00. I called for repair service to ask them about it. He said they could be difficult. It would take him about an hour to put it on. Guess what, it was on in 5 minutes. Now, Im even madder because I know I could have done this myself. Whirlpool!
