I myself cannot believe this. We remodeled kitchen in 1992. Gradually we had to replace the appliances except Whirlpool dishwasher. It still works okay. Only sometimes the detergent tablet does not dissolve. Anyway after 21 years, we are replacing it with another WP dishwasher.

We purchased our suite of appliances from Home Depot, this was a great experience. Unfortunately that is were it stopped. Our 1st refrigerator caught on fire in the electrical within the unit. We got a 2nd refrigerator sent to us and it came damaged. Then they sent us a 3rd refrigerator and it caught on fire in the electrical as well. Weve been dealing with this all since August 27th 2019 and here its now October 14th 2019. At this point I feel this model of Whirlpool is truly unsafe.

Its been exactly a year since I first purchased my Whirlpool Refrigerator and its already giving me problems. The ice maker wasnt producing any ice so we replaced the water filter as suggested by the manufacturer. Now the refrigerator is not cool enough. This morning I was giving my kids cereal and poured milk into one of their bowls. After they tasted it the milk was spoiled. Yes spoiled. I was so mad I called Whirlpool and the fastest they can send a repair man out to my home is next week. Really? I said what about my food and my kids? They said its not their problem! I tell you they are so nice and friendly. They really care about their customers! Yea Right!!

We purchased a Whirlpool side by side refrigerator from a local appliance store in December, 2018. We immediately noticed a loud humming noise coming from the refrigerator when the motor is running, which is a lot. We can hear it from our bedroom on the other side of the house. The store replaced the motor and the fan, but the constant irritating humming continues. The store called Whirlpool for advice, and were told that side by side refrigerators are louder. They also said that since it is working there is nothing they can do. We had a Kenmore side by side in the very same spot for over eight years. Never noticed when it was running. We will never buy another Whirlpool product again!

We purchased this model in July of 2019 and have had nothing but problems with it since. The design is really bad - if you set the temperature on the ideal setting, everything on the top shelf freezes solid. If you reduce the setting to the one below ideal, your freezer doesnt get cold enough to keep ice cream hard. The ice cubes are a little more than half the size of our last Whirlpool refrigerator and the unit is noisy. Weve had Whirlpool out to work on it 4 or 5 times in the first 6 months and twice weve had to throw away food due to the unit not cycling on and off properly. One of the technicians told us he spends a lot of time working on this particular model - evidently, it has a lot of issues. We are now using our old garage refrigerator while we try to get Lowes to give us a refund on this piece of junk.

I bought YMFE330W0AW0 Whirlpool on sale less than a year ago and I have been angry since almost the beginning. This is a cheaply made product which angers me because Whirlpool is supposed to be a quality product. The clock cannot be set because we have to press really hard and that part of the stove head is broken now. I knew this would happen after only a few weeks but was wishing it would not. There is a lot of heat that leaks out of the oven continuously when trying to bake something. The top is horrible. This stove top does not keep an equal heating element so if you put it on low, it actually turns off for a few minutes and becomes red again for a moment or so. It is impossible to cook anything evenly. I HATE and DETEST this stove. The worst product I have ever known. If it is on sale...BEWARE.

This company has terrible, deceitful, and pass the buck practices. I purchased a Bravos MCT top loading Maytag washer from Home Depot. Maytag is now owned by or has been acquired by Whirlpool. First I was a little disappointed to learn that because I had previously purchased two Whirlpool made washers and got no more than six years of service out of both them. But from the day this washer was delivered it did not perform as it should. I called and texted with the hours provided for rejection of the washer and was told by a customer service representative that it would be replaced. The main problem was the spin cycle. With only a few clothes in it, it jumped all around and moved so much that it was sitting in the middle of the washroom. Thinking that occurrence was a one time thing, I stopped it; cancelled the cycle; and reset it. It finished the load. This occurrence was reported and simply fell on deaf ears. I was lied to and told a replacement would be made; it was not. I have sent numerous emails and have made several calls for more than a year now and I still have the same defective washer in my home. Each time I emailed, I received a different message from the customer service person. This company wants me to pay for a service call or buy an additional warranty for a defective machine they produced and refuse to honor their replacement policy— which they now say is the responsibility of Home Depot. Luckily I have kept every email and document I was provided. I am being forced to file a claim against this company to get their attention and to remedy this situation. The expense of the claim will be greater the cost of purchasing another machine, but it is this kind of behavior, on the part of A corporate giant, that is makes life tough for everyday people like me. Stay away from the Whirlpool name for washers—even a prior good name brand like Maytag.

I have posted on here in the past about the problems with the Cabrio Washer from Whirlpool. Our third top load lid was just ordered since 2011. There is a design flaw where the plastic frame around the lid cracks and causes the lid to hump up. While shopping at a local appliance store recently, I saw a new Cabrio washer and the lid and hinge system has be re-designed. I wonder why?????

We bought a new Whirlpool side by side, model # WRS325FNAM00 in March 2014. In less than 48 hours, the freezer box was condensing and water was leaking on the bottom edge. The condensation got worse and worse. Five service calls later, Whirlpool replaced the freezer door--which took six weeks because it had to be manufactured. After the door was installed--no change. Whirlpool replaced the entire refrigerator in June. Guess what? The new one is doing exactly the same thing in exactly the same place. So far it has not gotten worse. Well see, we have only had it a week. But already the service rep has been out to the house and added the silicone gunk to the box in case there is a tiny air leak. Why would a brand new refrigerator have an air leak in the freezer box?

I bought refrigerator in Feb 2017. Within 18 months internal surface got crack, contacted customer care but I would say Whirlpool India customer care department is worst across world, no courtesy towards customers, contacted them over phone very bad attitude, no response on email. Product quality is worst, its better to buy Indian brands. They are much better in quality & service. Totally dissatisfied with Whirlpool approach, at the end Whirlpool customer care is not at all bothered.

WFW97HEDW, WGD95HEDW American made and equivalent to LG and Kenmore. Size fitted our space available. Price was a bit higher than the Korean models with similar or better features. We bought and returned three consecutive Whirlpool models from Sears. Though we never really got to put the dryers to the test, nor did they fail, the washers were of such a poor quality that they broke down within 1-2 weeks of installation. Eventually we switched to LG and have had no problems. When the Whirlpool fails it locks your clothes inside and to open and retrieve your clothes is just short of impossible. We really, really really wanted to buy the American made brand and we were willing to pay the premium to do so, but these washers were awful.

4 years ago, we purchased a Model UMV1160CW-3 over the range microwave. After 14 months the door cracked around the handle and eventually fell off. We made the HUGE mistake of buying the same model for ease of installation thinking that this would be a typical issue. We purchase another duplicate model in April of 2016 and less than 16 months later the same issue occurred. Spoke to customer service on 12/28/2018 and they told me that they would pick up the cost of the parts but I would be responsible for labor which actually exceeded the cost of the microwave. Exceedingly poor-quality product and support. Will not purchase another Whirlpool appliance.

On 11-29-2014 we were washing our laundry and our whirlpool washing machine started making a really loud noise so I went to investigate the problem. I open the bottom part of the washer to find out that the whole cement block to balance the drum was on the floor of the washer so I called the 1800 number on the machine and no one at whirlpool corporation wanted to even help. No one said sorry. No one said Let me see if I can help. No one. Every one I talked to they cant help at all. No one apologized once about the poor product that whirlpool sells and the defect that their products has. My washer is one year and one month old. So I can say truly with confidence that whirlpool product are the worst in the world plus their customer service even more. It is very sad after we paid all kind of money for our washer now I have to buy another one after one year and one month. Very bad customer service.

Im very frustrated. I bought a Whirlpool Refrigerator for nearly $1300 in Sept. 11. It is a side-by-side Model #ED5KVEXVL00. The refrigerator side started warming up to the point that we noticed. We put a thermometer inside to confirm; it went up to nearly 60 degrees. We tried cleaning any dust underneath from the coils and even unplugged it for a while. The compressor appears to be the potential problem. Sears is not sending a repair guy for 2 WEEKS (It is a hot July here in NY)!!!!We are saddened that Whirlpool says it is out of the one-year warranty - so now we are facing the choice of a large repair bill or buying a new refrigerator. What a waste of money... Its not even 2 years and it needs service or a dumpster. Shame on Whirlpool for not standing up for customers when clearly there is something wrong with this machine so close to the warranty and so new. Sears and Whirlpool - youve lost me as a future appliance customer!!! :(

Our Whirlpool refrigerator had to have repair in less than a year after purchase. That was a bad experience last summer and I had to complain through every avenue I could find just to get the replacement part shipped to the repair shop. Now I know it was not too smart on my part, but I bought a Whirlpool washer last September. You guessed it, not even a year old and it is not working. All I am hoping for in this posting is to help some other hardworking consumer make a better choice with their money. It is probably not advisable to buy Whirlpool.

Weve had this washing machine only a few years, and our household of 2 probably averages 1 load of laundry per week. Weve always had the same problem everyone has with the detergent stains on clothing and having to rewash loads, and the only remedy weve found was using the oversized loads setting and rewashing a load. The last straw was 6 months ago. It quit going through a complete cycle and would not spin out without resetting it. Then it quit spinning out at all. Service Guard, a 3rd party warranty company, diagnosed a faulty motor and ordered a replacement. After a long delay Whirlpool advised it was back-ordered for 3 months. A week ago Whirlpool advised them it was now back-ordered until 5-27. They did not know whether wed ever obtain a replacement motor. After taking clothes to our sons house for a couple months to wash, we purchased another used machine to use until ours is repaired. It is beginning to appear that machine may be our permanent machine. This is a pretty sad testimonial about whirlpool. We have always used Whirlpool appliances but appears we may have to switch brands. And it certainly does appear these low water machines are garbage. Very disappointed in Whirlpool.

We purchased a new home April 2013. All our appliances were new Whirlpool stainless. Looked nice. After almost a year our microwave started acting improperly. Beeping, changing screens, not working when buttons pushed. Then the micro wave had a melt down and caused the glass try to break, parts to melt and caught fire internally melting plastic. Notified Whirlpool and they sent out individuals to repair. After several weeks the repair was completed and we were advised that they did not understand why this would or could happen. We should be fine now. Well we are now again having this unit beeping, changing screens, not working when tried, and when entering numbers, number and time are not what was trying to be entered. This unit my wife says is possessed and she wont use it. She fears it will burn the house down. It is Velos model TR 2 24 11000 serial number. Agreeing with many. How disturbing to buy a Cabrio Whirlpool washing machine about 5 years ago. I might as well go down to the river and wash my clothes. The bearings went out which means I have to be the spin cycle. I am hanging out my clothes on the line - very wet - until my husband buys the part and fixes it himself. I had my maytag for 25 years. An awesome, dependable machine that we laid to rest because of rust. We should have gotten another drum instead of buying this machine. Where are the engineers that are making dependable appliances to last a LONG time? We have not gotten smarter. Or we only care about the all mighty dollar. Make something to last a short time so that you have to buy again. We will do some extensive research the next time we buy a washing machine. Do not buy this machine!

We bought a Whirlpool French door fridge model WRF989SDAM00 in 2013 and were impressed by how it looked in our kitchen. Its December 2015 and things have started to go wrong. First the freezer stopped freezing items completely and found out that ice had built up on the cooling tubes inside the rear freezer wall. Had to be taken apart and thawed with a heat gun. Now the freezer freezes on and off and the ice maker is not making ice properly and leaking all over the left side of the fridge. Went to Sears {place of purchase} and we were asked immediately if we had purchased the extended warranty. We hadnt and were told Sears could do nothing and that these newer fridges have a tendency to have trouble within the first couple of years and thats why they recommend the extended warranties. Really a $2500 dollar fridge a couple of years? Had a local appliance repairman look at it and he said the compressor was bad. $500.00 to fix. Boy do I regret buying this thing. Ill be just as responsible as Whirlpool and Nasons has been... I bought my Whirlpool stove less than 2 yrs ago from a reputable business in a nearby community, CROWN POINT, INDIANA! I have had trouble w/ the burner knobs ever since I bought it...just brushing up against them turns them on. Enough gas escapes into the kitchen... I bought knob covers to prevent that (they did NOT work)! So I called the place I bought the stove from and they sent out a repairman...he said there was no fix for it... but that I owed him $69.99 for the service call. And every time I turn the oven on to heat it to bake something you smell gas also... Im almost afraid to use it... 3 nights ago I woke up to the kitchen filled w/ gas...knob covers on but still one was still on a bit... it was a whopping -25 and we had to open windows to clear out the gas... you shouldnt have to check the knobs once youve turned them off. Nor should they come on when you brush by them...when youre not even cooking... Granted I am short but the serviceman said I should move everything I needed to cook w/ closer to me so I didnt have to brush up against the stove... what????? I have cabinets above and all around the stove. What I cant use those cabinets????? Something is terribly wrong w/ the stove and the service... If youre in the market for a new stove, dont buy a Whirlpool and for certain DONT buy anything from NASONS appliances in Crown Point Indiana... They along with whirlpool dont stand behind their product... They told me they never had that complaint before. WRONG, I read it more than once on this site...liars all of them!

I am very reluctant with online product feedbacks. But here is one story that needs to be told. I purchased a Whirlpool 3D Split AC 2 years back (and hence the product is out of warranty). The product quality is so bad (and unreliable) that within 2 years the coils in the Outdoor Unit have started to leak. When I requested for service visit the technician (so called) came over and did a wet service and took the fee (without an invoice). And assured that the AC would start to work fine. Within a week we realized that the AC is not cooling enough. Again a service visit was called and this time the technician (supposedly) diagnosed the above problem. The repair cost told to me is to the tune of Rs 10,000/- for a product cost of Rs 36,000/- (or so) bought just 2 years back. Does anyone in Whirlpool understand what QUALITY means??? Does anyone understand VALUE FOR MONEY... This aside I have a 2 Tonne Whirlpool AC, 350 l Whirlpool DD refrigerator and a Washing Machine... I think its time for Move over WHIRLPOOL and HELLO MITSUBISHI, BOSCH, HITACHI... End of a great consumer brand...

The gear he took out was broken and gummed up with soap. We were told by an appliance salesperson that the water should never have been able to get to the gear. Parts were to be here by Tuesday of this week and the machine repaired. They called to reschedule yesterday. I called them this morning and they said the tub and another part would be delivered today, but the gear would not be sent out until September 12. This is a brand new machine which was obviously sent out of the factory with a defect. It doesnt clean properly and sounds like an airplane ready for take-off. I have never heard a machine this loud.We are going out and purchase another brand. My advice: Dont buy Whirlpool!Donna

Cabrio Top Washer - Disappointed!! Its selling point was using less water but do they realize that you DO have to use a little water to clean clothes. Leaves residue on every load and where I have to use the extra rinse cycle and that still doesnt work. This product is going on eBay today! Never again Whirlpool.

I purchased a Whirlpool stove, microwave and fridge in November 2012. The fridge model #WRT771RWYB01 has been a lemon from day 1. I have had the repairman out for the same issues multiple times. Ice build up in the freezer, water tube to the ice maker frozen, food in the fridge freezing, blah, blah. They have taped, glued, replaced everything they can and to no avail. It still happens. When you call for service, it takes 2 weeks or better to get someone out. I will NEVER buy another Whirlpool product! This has truly been a nightmare experience!

Just wondered if anyone else has had a problem with the paint bubbling up and peeling off their washer and/or dryer. My washer and dryer are in my laundry room off the kitchen with a heat and air vent in the room and I dont understand why my paint is doing this. They are about 5 years old and have always been in this room, never in a garage or basement. My dryer was rusting on the outside about 3 years ago and even though I bought the extended warranty, Whirlpool said it was only cosmetic and they wouldnt do anything about it. I bought them at Lowes and they were good enough to give me a new one to replace it. Both of the machines now have the paint bubbling up and peeling off and there is nothing that can be done. Anybody else have this problem and if so what can be done to repair the paint? This is my 3rd set of Whirlpool washer and dryers over the past 44 years and I will purchase another brand next time.

We were looking for stainless steel and this model was that. This model has lots of presets which we like. We lucked out and got it on sale and were able to get features of a more expensive model for a lesser price. The only downside is getting the turntable back in when you clean it. One of the things I wish it had was a way use the timer for foods cooking in the microwave plus use the timer separately for timing food you arent cooking in the microwave, but will be part of the meal. Also, the defrost options could be clearer!

We bought a Whirlpool washing machine, and what a mistake! I just got off the phone with their customer we dont care department. It spins everything into a tight ball so when the clothes come out of the washing machine everything needs ironed, even permanent press. It also changes the water temperature. I like to wash some clothes in cold water, but the representative at Whirlpool told me it will sometimes add hot water to make the water warm. I am hoping this review will save others from purchasing a Whirlpool washing machine. We will stay clear of all of Whirlpool appliances due to the problem with this washer and Whirlpools lack of concern of an inferior product!

Our hot water heater (Whirlpool Mod # BFG1F404053NOV) stopped working. I called the Whirlpool help line and was advised to change the thermocouple as they had been having issues with this particular model. I was advised to go to Lowes, where we had purchased the heater, to get a new thermocouple at no charge to us. After changing the thermocouple, guess what? It still didnt work. I went back to Lowes and they replaced the heater, at no charge to us (they were great during this whole ordeal so no knocks against Lowes). Well, one year later, it’s the same issue. The pilot light will not stay lit. It’s very frustrating as it never goes out at an opportune time. In the past, the name Whirlpool ensured you were getting a quality product. I guess that’s not true anymore.

Cabrio Washing Machine - I purchased my washer and dryer in May of 2008. I had problems with sheets, towels and pants getting very twisted and tangled, but I just attributed that to a design flaw. My problems really began in January 2013 when loads were not level all the time. It didnt matter if it were 1 shirt or a load of towels; you had to stand by the machine and it took forever to finish a cycle. On 1/11/13, the first repair was the rods that kept the drum stable. $260.82 later, it worked again. On 2/16/13, the washer quit working. On 2/18/13, the repairman was back out. It needed a lid lock switch. It was $87.14 that time and he would be back when the part arrives ... There was still no washing machine. On 2/21/13, he returned with the lid switch and replaced it. That was $178.04 but wait, there were still other error codes so there was no working machine.I refuse to pay anymore as I now fear I will be buying a new machine after spending over $500 in less than 6 weeks, but Whirlpool did the right thing when I called and they agreed to repair the machine. They wanted a different company to come diagnose the problem (the machine gave an F50 and F51 error code to the repairman here on the 21st), so I have to wait for another repairman to come and look at the same codes flashing on the LED readout. On 3/1/13, the A&E repairman that Whirlpool sent out arrived at my house. I have been without a washer since the 16th of February. He diagnosed the problem and said that it is a $1,000 repair! I called Whirlpool and asked for a new machine, instead of throwing more money at this one. They informed me that if I didnt like their offer, they wont do anything then. I agreed to the repair.Parts started arriving at my house. On 3/13/13, another A&E repairman came out and started to fix the machine. He informed me that there was more wrong than the first guy thought, but he had the circuit boards so he would get it going. On 3/24/13, the washer quit working again and was flashing an F51 error code. This is the biggest piece of junk I have owned in my life. I have missed 5 half days of work since January and there is no end in sight. Why is Whirlpool allowed to get away with such an inferior machine?

I purchased a brand new Whirlpool washing machine only 2 yrs ago. Rather than lasting upward of 10 yrs with normal use as advertised, the machine is nothing more than a giant wash tub. It doesnt Drain and Spin properly. The clothes are still wet at the end of the cycle and I have to either attempt to wring all items by hand or set the machine to Drain and Spin for a second time. Now, it no longer agitates the clothes during either the wash or the rinse. I am SO disappointed in this and very angry that I trusted this well known brand with my hard-earned money. I am also angry at myself for not reviewing internet posts as I am hearing the exact same experiences by others time and again.

We replaced the fuse to it and then it worked, but kept pausing during the cycle. Sometimes it will completely go off and then when the control panel comes back on, it sits paused until you push the button. We replaced the computer with a new one and it works even worse. I bought my refrigerator model GX5FHDXVQ0 in 2010 and after this short amount of time, the control board went out. My repair cost was $446.05 to have it repaired. The refrigerator cost over $2,000 and to have to spend nearly $500 on repairs after only 2 years seems way beyond reasonable. I have Whirlpool appliances - washer, dryer and dishwasher - in my home and thought it was a very reliable name. I am very unhappy after reading customer complaints about the very same thing happening to them. I can also see that the company Whirlpool is not very concerned with customer complaints. Purchased this French door fridge with the freezer on the bottom in September 2017. Started having problems shortly after with the freezer not auto defrosting/ice damming on the evaporator unit in the freezer unit, which caused the fridge to warm up and food to spoil. Service came out several times and ultimately replaced the Jazz board 3 times, 2 harnesses in freezer, 1 Heater and the evaporator fan motor, with the same problem happening after a few weeks. Requested a replacement after the 3rd visit, but Whirlpool refused to back up their product. Sent service a few more times to no avail. Demanded a replacement once again. They sent a new service company out 15 months after our original purchase and they FINALLY deemed it non-repairable and are FINALLY going to replace it (turned out to be a broken wire inside the walls of the fridge, likely was like that upon delivery). So now we will have been put out for a total of 16 months for a fridge that cost >$1000. If Im spending that on an appliance I expect it to work properly or else be fixed/replaced in a TIMELY fashion. And the best part: they refuse to compensate us for any of the food that was lost due to a faulty product and very poor customer service! That was a lot of money lost because of their incompetence. If they had just replaced the broken appliance in the first place I would have been satisfied. But since they refused to do anything beneficial to remedy the situation, I will NEVER buy another Whirlpool appliance again. And add in the inconvenience of scheduling a time to be home for multiple visits to greet the repairman. Oh yeah, plus our time wasted defrosting our frost-free fridge with a blow dryer to buy us time until it got repaired. Buyer beware!

NU40T61-403 have had problems since day one. First problem was while heating up would make loud humming noise. Whirlpool sent out plumber. He adjusted plate under tank. That worked for about 2 months. Then pilot started going out. They send same plumber out again, also sent replacement part. Problem was fixed however about 2 months after that started leaking and flooding our garage. Called company again, was told that is no longer under warranty and stated we need a thermal expansion tank. I stated “why would we need this? This unit is only a little over a year old. Im not going to purchase another tank. A water heater should not overheat like this.” Long story short my husband has been burnt severely from the pressure build up as he was out in our garage walking past the tank when it decided to release pressure even though no water was being used at that time. He ended up at the ER with 2nd-3rd degree burns. I called Whirlpool again and was only told we need to install the expansion tank. Im so unhappy with this product I will never buy anything made by whirlpool again.....

I bought a Cabrio three years ago. Unless you wash everything on gentle and turn items with zipper inside out, it puts holes in everything. Then exactly one week after the warranty was up, it started giving an error code. I called the company and was told this was a common error and they would send someone to look at it for $150+. It would likely be another $300-$400 for parts and labor! I had someone else (not Whirlpool) come look at it and they said it was a bad computer that I should just replace the washer, because it would cost more than it was worth. So for two years, we have had to wait exactly 11 minutes for the washer to fault then restart it and repeat 3-6 times. It takes 2.5 hours to complete one cycle. If this is such a common error, why havent they fixed it or recalled the piece of junk?! Because they can make a lot more money this way! Three people I know have Cabrios and all have the same issue and all happened within a month of the warranty expiring. I am starting to think there is some sort of timer that makes it go bad just after the warranty expires on purpose. I will never buy another Whirlpool, Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, or Amana (all the same company with different names).

Technician said line that goes to compressor is copper and hooks up to aluminum line before attaching to compressor. This is leak point for freon; no way to know when the leak started, but freon almost gone and cost to pressure check for source of leak is costly and probably would not repair problem. Certain brands of dishwashers made by Whirlpool, including Whirlpool, Kitchenaid and Kenmore, are a fire hazard. Most appeared to be made in the mid-00s. My Kenmore Elite, model# 665.16293400, bought in March 2006, started emitting a burning plastic smell. I removed the door panel and found where the control board wires have been overheating and melting the plastic liner inside the door.Further investigation led me to kitchenaidfire.com, which details the models involved and includes hundreds of reports of fires from these models. I also searched saferproducts.gov and also found over 100 reports of fires from these models. The report logs are growing rapidly as it appears most of the control boards start to malfunction about five years in.I called Sears and they said that Whirlpool needs to do a recall. I called Whirlpool and I was told that they do not make Kenmore dishwashers, only some parts. This is completely false. I couldnt believe the representative was told to tell me that besides the part that is failing is stamped Whirlpool. These Whirpool-made dishwashers are a documented fire hazard and need to be recalled. I do not know what it takes, hundreds of fire reports have been logged and they are rapidly growing, but I hope that it doesnt take someone to be killed before they are recalled.

I purchased a Whirlpool washing machine from PC Richards in Lake Grove 15 months ago. I paid $590.00. I had to call PC Richards back because it sounded like the machine was not spinning right. The servicemen came back and said nothing was wrong. It was supposed to sound like that. Now the machine stopped draining and spinning. I went to the store and they handed me customer service numbers and said they could not help me. I contacted Whirlpool online and received a phone call from a woman that gave me a lesson on how to load the machine and put soap in it! She was a very polite woman, but, gee, that didn’t solve my problem. After 4 days I was able to get through by phone and was told to call service. I contacted Mahler Appliance. He looked at it and said he couldn’t fix it and took a check for $81.47. He told me to call Whirlpool. I called Whirlpool again and got their service people. The gentleman came and could not figure out what was wrong. He tried a few things and said it was probably the main board. He said to call Whirlpool, but they most likely won’t give me back my money. He could charge me $460.00 for a new board per his supervisor. I just paid $590.00 for the machine and another $87.00 to some guy who took advantage. He left with an $87.00 check and I still have a broken washer. He did tighten up a loose wire he said he found and told me to try it and good luck. So I tried it. I put clothes in and turned it on.I came back about 20 minutes later to see if it continued to run and I slipped and fell on the ceramic floor because water drained out from somewhere and went all over my floor. I have injured my back and elbow from hitting the hard floor. I also have water all over the place and finally a very broken defective washer. I am angry. I hurt myself and have spent close to $1000.00 and I still have no working washer and no way to buy another one. The washer is 15 months old. That’s brand new to me. There was obviously a problem from the beginning. Whirlpool has always had a quality name for years. I would hope that they would stand by their product and fix my washer for me. It is obviously defective.

I purchased a dishwasher less than 6 months ago from Menards. Since then, I have had to have it repaired twice, due to items getting past the filters and clogging up the drains, so the dishwasher wouldnt drain. I have a 1-year warranty that came with the dishwasher, so both repairs were covered. However, I felt that there should be more done by the company, such as a free extended warranty to cover the cost of repairs as Im sure there will be more; and this is a problem that even the repair man said shouldnt be happening.I called Whirlpool to see what could be done, and all they kept telling me is that I could purchase an extended warranty. I told them (nicely, at first) that I found that ridiculous - why should I pay even more to continue to fix a problem that I shouldnt be having? If they werent going to give me a free extended warranty, I requested at least a partial credit toward another dishwasher, and they could have the piece of junk I have back. They refused to help. I am beyond disappointed with the lack of concern they have for their customers. I will not purchase any more Whirlpool products.

Washer filled with water. System started but would not wash. 10 minutes later it rinsed and drained but would not go thru wash cycle. We clicked the cancel button for 3-seconds to restart. Same problem. Called Lowes - Lady name Kelly continued to tell us we did something wrong. She would not listen and continued to say its Christmas EVE. Finally the workers came out to check it out around 4:00. Confirmed washer is defective and new washer will be delivered on 12-26-13. Confused as to the label on the machine says made with pride in America. Our 20yr. old Cabrio only lasted two years and went up. Never buy another Whirlpool product!

We have had our Whirlpool Cabrio washer for quite a few years. I agree that the machine is a piece of garbage. Every load is unbalanced. You have to stand there when the spin cycle starts, with your finger on the pause button, so you can rebalance the load, which is no easy task. My 80 minute whitest whites cycle took 2 1/2 hours to complete. Thank goodness I started the load at 5:30am. I hate this washer and anytime I am in an appliance store and see someone looking at it, I inform them it is a piece of junk. I havent contacted Whirlpool because I know they wont help with any issues were having.

I have an oven hood Whirlpool Microwave. Even though its more of a basic model it has worked terrific so far at about 5 years old. Only draw back is the extremely loud 4 beep alarm upon completion of warming up food. I actually cringe when it is about to go off especially early in the morning. Ours doesnt have the handy options button to turn it off. I have tried other combos with the buttons to see if they have it set up different but to no avail. Does anyone know if you can shut it off. The people who design these things must not have babies because they would think of this at nap time Im sure. Truly the sound this thing emits could wake the dead! I also had the fancy Whirlpool before like some folks mentioned about the handle and door frame cracking and disintegrating. Guess what, so did my parents, sisters, aunts and my neighbors. Definitely a major design flaw or faulty materials. My sister, mom got new doors and they began cracking again within a year!

I had an electric 36 Whirlpool, smooth top cook top for 18 yrs. Worked great, cleaned with Windex and occasional scraper. Didnt show streaks or spots. I remodeled my kitchen 10/15 and bought a KitchenAid 36 glass smooth top vented cook top. What a piece of junk. Wish I had kept my Whirlpool. I can not get it cleaned. Every little fingerprint, mark, etc. shows. I thought KitchenAid was an upgrade to whirlpool but I was surely wrong. I am glad that I didnt change my built-in double oven. I did change out the Whirlpool quiet gold dishwasher for the KitchenAid. Again, wish I kept my Whirlpool. The KitchenAid is noisier, looks terrible with the stainless inside. Im embarrassed to open it with all the water stains. My Whirlpool was white inside and looked like new. I wish I had the money to change it back but I dont unfortunately. Moral of the story is if it aint broken dont fix it!

I have had this microwave for 12 years and never had a problem. Love the presets on it for example ‘“popcorn.”

Our countertop Whirlpool microwave oven is just over two years old and one of the led lights in the clock display just went out. The push-button opening mechanism is very hard to work and quite loud when the door is shut. When the timer is set but the start button is not activated for a few minutes, the door warning goes on and you have to reset the timer. There are five beeps that indicate when cooking is done and they continue even when the door is opened. The only way to stop them is to push the stop button and there is no way to adjust the noise level or number of beeps.

This is not a new washer (Whirlpool Cabrio INTW6200VWO) and it works well BUT since we have owned it we have had rust at the bleach dispenser. I am seeing on the internet there are many complaints about this and there was a recall? But they have run out of replacement parts??? Never received any recall notice. We have online instructions on how to repair and have done this many times and the rust comes back. About a week ago we sanded, primed and enamel painted the area plus I have put NO BLEACH in the dispenser and the rust is coming back. I hate to replace a working machine but this rust can and will get on my clothing. Whirlpool was the absolutely best in the past but this one is a lemon.

Whirlpool Duet WFW94HEAW0 Washer - Bought the machine in Feb 2014 and was generally very pleased with it. However a few weeks ago we started getting oil/grease stains on clothing. Wasnt sure what was causing it but it has now got so bad that the machine cant be used. An internet search indicates it is possibly a ball racer ring and doesnt sound an uncommon issue. A call to Whirlpool resulted in a quote for circa $350 for a service call. Thats a 1/3rd of the original value (includes a 12 month warranty). And its just over a year old!!! We had a problem with the Maytag Neptune that ended in a class action suit and now this replacement machine seems to be even worse. I would recommend anyone to really consider what to buy and give this range a miss.

I hate the thing. The grates are way too large, they are too heavy, and the fact the high is not a true high and the other three are different temperatures. The oven is awful. It half cooks. You cannot do decent canning on the thing because you only have one burner. This is a mess from the get go. Why in the hell do companies think everything has to have a computer attached to it? Computers and heat do NOT mix for Gods sake. A simple gas stove is sufficient to cook with. Take the computerized junk off and make a normal stove.

Whirlpool Dishwasher purchased at ABC Warehouse in Chesterfield, MI and was delivered on 10-2-2014, and one year later, we noticed that the tips of the lower basket were coming off. We contacted the holder of the extended warranty (5-yr.) and also Whirlpool. Both replied the fault was cosmetic and was not covered by warranty, that only mechanical/electrical components were covered. When we were buying the extended warranty, we were told that we were covered for all issues that may occur. We werent told cosmetic flaws were not covered. I guess consumers should, before buying a new product, make a specific list of possible problems, and make sure whats covered and not covered. We have been unable to resolve this issue.

Whirlpool WRS965CIAM - Consumer beware is what weve learned. Whirlpool has apparently not monitored the hundreds of complaints about this particular refrigerator model. Its sleek and pretty and has a ton of features and I was very excited about purchasing it. We havent moved into our home yet, but turned the refrig on the next weekend after closing, started painting rooms, even had some nice ice water. I came back next day to a very large amount of water all over my hardwood floors. We are talking bath towels. Who would know you are supposed to call Whirlpool directly? We sure didnt. We called Hart Appliances, where we purchased it from. They gave us a number to call for service on Monday. The repair guy came, didnt have what he needed, so he came back later in the afternoon and fixed it, until we came back next morning and the floor was again flooded... Again, we are talking bath towels. I called them back and was told it needed a part, that took 4 days to come. Its here today but they are not coming until Monday to fix. Customer service at Whirlpool has no record of calling out a serviceman. They wont have info until problem is fixed. According to folks on the internet sites, that could be months or never! Okay, ladies... am I ever going to trust that this refrig will ever be fixed? I wont dare go away for a weekend without fear it will leak all over my floors and ruin them. We were going to purchase a chest freezer and small full fridge for drinks and overflow to keep in the garage. Instead, thats where this fridge will end up. Expensive lesson learned. Whirlpool doesnt replace brand new, out of the box, defective refrigerator. Whirlpool also doesnt admit there are complaints out there... Customer service person told me she had no record of complaints... I said when we get off the phone... GOOGLE WRS965CIAM and you will be amazed. My next complaint is going to Consumer Reports. We bought the magazine and followed the advice. Id like to think we just got a lemon, but there are too many complaints out there for that to be the case!

My ref. stopped working. I troubleshoot it and did not work. I filled out a service request back on February 2nd, 2015. I got an email back from a subcontractor called Active Appliance INC. with a date service on February 6th, 2015, 4 days after my service request, and that is the only available date. The technician arrived while I am not at the house, however I talked to him before he started the work on my refrigerator and asked him kindly if he can call me after founding the issue, and he assured me that he will. No call and when I arrived home I found that he told the attendant that the refrigerator is not working and he has to report to the office. REALLY! We know that! Anyway I called Active Appliance and the customer services rep. told me that she could not answer with the diagnose until she speak with the technician and that will be Monday February 9th, I asked if I could speak with a manager, and her reply was Our managers do not talk to the customers. I had to hang up and call Whirlpool customer services and spoke with a nice gentleman, that he was not happy with Active Appliance INC. services. He placed me on hold and called them and within 3 minute he got back with the news, what was wrong with the refrigerator, electric computer panel burned out and then the fan continue to work with no stop, so it burned as well. He assured me that the services will be done no later than Tuesday February, 10th.While on the phone I got a call from active appliance and this time she wanted to know if I am warranted. I told her that I have Whirlpool on the other line and they assured me that I am. She said that it does not matter and she has to get something in writing. I placed her on hold and talked with Whirlpool and he assured me that he will contact them and email me a confirmation, which he did. By Tuesday February 10th, no call no follow up. I called Active appliance and they stated that it would take up to 14 working days for a part to arrive. I called Whirlpool and spoke with a customer services manager, and she got on the phone and told me that they are going to do their best and get back with me. Today February 16th I got a call to cancel a work service order due to technician calling sick and reschedule for February 25th Wednesday, I told her that they did not call to schedule the service first place, her answer was Never mind, I am calling to cancel anyway. Would you like to take this appointment or NOT? I asked her kindly to reevaluate their service procedures and the way they handle their customer, and I told her that I bought my refrigerator from Whirlpool and they are the company in charge of their product and I do not wish to continue this dialog with Active Appliance!I called Whirlpool and the customer service gentleman was helping me and we got disconnected, however when I called back they were closed for the day, however the customer service has my phone number but I got no phone call!!!! I think this is the worst POOR service I got within the last 20 years!!!!! I hope someone at Whirlpool care about their services and can contact me to handle the issue.

I purchased a Whirlpool Microwave on 9/21/10 from Hamilton-Bryan in Wichita Falls, Texas. I had a small fire in my microwave on 9/19/11, due to a faulty mica board. This was replaced by Mr. Bobs in Wichita Falls, TX, under the warranty. Then on 1/9/12, the microwave would not warm anything. I called Mr. Bobs again, and they said the transformer was out. I called Whirlpool, and was told by Yvonne that Whirlpool would replace the part only, with no labor, but Mr. Bobs was closed, and to call back in the morning, so this authorization could be set up with Mr. Bobs. I called back and there was no record of my call with Yvonne. I talked to a supervisor Rachel in Tennessee. She put me on hold for a while and finally said she found Yvonnes note to authorize the part. I explained to each person I talked to that I was dissatisfied with Whirlpool. I believe I have a defective microwave. I would like my money back, or a new microwave. I believe the defective mica board is related to the defective transformer. I am a very dissatisfied customer. I have used Whirlpool most of my adult life. I have used them since the 1970s. I currently have a Whirlpool refrigerator, washer, and dryer. A similar situation like this occurred when I bought a Samsung washer. I was dissatisfied, and Samsung refunded my money, and I bought a Whirlpool washer to replace Samsung. I will not be satisfied with this situation, until the microwave is replaced. Thank you for your concern and attention to this matter.

May 16 - July 25, 2014. Took almost nine weeks to get the replacement. Numerous service calls. Their tech said self-clean feature should never be used. In addition, I heard that the techs are only paid for one service call, no matter how many times they come. And, they cant fix this oven. It has to be replaced. Nightmare and very dangerous. 2010 upright Whirlpool freezer - Door is totally bubbled in rust. Warranty Plan not covered for this. Whirlpool Corp Serv. Dept said they are sorry but it is not a functional problem. Cost of repairs on 3-yr-old freezer that cost $600.00 would be $732.62. This freezer was rated CR Best Buy in Sept 2009 which was why I purchased it. I paid $81.00 for repair tech from Whirlpool today who could do nothing either. Whirlpool knows that this has been a problem as consumers have complained about this rust in Google, some saying they will never buy a Whirlpool product again. Same here!

Purchased washer 01/20/2012 after prior bad experience with washer, purchased from Sears. The washer is two years old and began making an awful noise and quit spinning the clothes dry. I too have had problems with getting service and cant see spending $500.00 for repairs on a washer that cost me $653.81 to purchase. Whirlpool and Sears better take their head out of their bum before the completely decimate their customer base. Why arent these problems being fairly addressed? It says a lot that your original warranty is only a year and any additional warranty is cost prohibiting. Save yourself some money and frustration and buy the old fashioned top loaders with standard agitation. AND WHIRLPOOL CAN AND SHOULD BUY A VOWEL AND REALIZE THAT IF IT DOESNT WORK IT ISNT MORE EFFICIENT!!!

Oct 14th I walked down to our basement to find it flooded. Turns out the leak came from the solenoid that controls the water feed to our Whirlpool Gold Series refrigerator. Now, some $28,000 in damages later - floors/cabinets/walls/electronics - you name it. The repair company said that they replace these units a lot as it is simply a faulty design and Whirlpool knows this as this part is very difficult to obtain - too much demand. Well aside from the cost, the inconvenience, and the rise in our insurance rates the repair person said there was a good chance of the new part failing as well - it just cant take the water pressure as it is just cheap plastic. My advice - stay away from Whirlpool!

In 2015 door of top loading washer (Whirlpool Cabrio Washer) needed total replacement. Lucky I had an extended warranty. 2018 March, extended warranty expired and now have the exact same problem. Pretty crummy product if major part like a door has to be replaced every 3-4 years. We do not wash large items like blankets/quilts in this machine. That goes to a laundromat where there are oversized machines or to a dry cleaner. So the only reason for this breakage is a default in the lid assembly. There is only one phone number for customer service, repair, parts etc. Put in my service call and filed a complaint at same time hoping for at least a small discount. Ha! $100 plus tax for service call- part price ranges from $150-230 plus tax. Whirlpool could tell me the part exists but would not say how long it takes to get it! Do NOT buy Whirlpool washer with top load lid that has glass window. Big problem is that Whirlpool now has Jenn-Air, KitchenAid, Maytag and Amana all under their umbrella.

Pros: The refrigerator is large and roomy, easily adjustable glass shelving, and easy temperature controls for the refrigerator temperature and freezer temperature. Cons: the refrigerator is bulky and limits space in a small kitchen. The lower freezer door does not seal very well and requires frequent tweaking and adjusting around the door seal. Also, the freezer handle becomes loose easily and requires tightening fairly often -- which is a pain to get on the floor on your back (and a flashlight plus a special wrench) to tighten the handle.
