I purchased a dishwasher from Menards. It was a top of the line Whirlpool Dishwasher. We ordered new cabinets for a kitchen upgrade and when the cabinets arrived they were damaged during Thanksgiving holiday. We purchased the dishwasher and it sat in our garage until the second set of cabinets arrived in mid January.Once the GC installed the new cabinets we noticed a small dent in the front of the stainless steel dishwasher. I notified Whirlpool and they took my model and serial number. The supervisor April said there is nothing that I can do. You passed the 30 day cosmetic warranty. I explained the issue to her and she didnt seem to care. The dishwasher sat in the garage for 7-8 weeks. This is not the consumers fault. This company could of sent a service mechanic out and replaced the front panel. But she chose to ready some meaningless policy to me. I will never buy a Whirlpool product again, and I will tell everyone about the poor and unprofessional service that Whirlpool offers.

I purchased the Whirlpool Cabrio (wtw6600sw2) about five years ago. Last year, the motherboard had to be replaced. This year, it started to have load balance issues on the spin cycle; in other words, it wont spin without sounding like its going to tear itself apart. It cost $75 to have someone look at it, and to fix it will cost almost $400, and whats next? I spent a lot of money for this machine, and Whirlpools answer was to offer me a discount to purchase a new Whirlpool. I called Whirlpool and my model does not have a recall, but models with same problems have been recalled. I will never buy a Whirlpool again!!!

Never again will I purchase any Whirlpool product. I was seduced into purchasing a Whirlpool dehumidifier by the sale price at Canadian Tire. Big mistake! It worked as expected for four months before all the refrigerant leaked out - we found this out later. I contacted Whirlpool and was told I could take it to their authorized service depot (a 50 minute drive from here) for repairs. I did so and was charged $44.80 for them to troubleshoot the unit. Two weeks later they told me that the refrigerant had leaked out and it would cost $563 for repairs. For a $200 unit!! Get serious! I pointed out, according to my Canadian Tire receipt that the warranty was for 5 years on the compressor and sealed components. After further collaboration between the repair depot and Whirlpool, I was told that my warranty is not with Whirlpool but rather with the company that produced the unit for Whirlpool, namely Hisense and that the Whirlpool repair depot did not do warranty work for Hisense. I then had to fax the technician report to Hisense to get an authorization number for a replacement unit from Canadian Tire. Once armed with the authorization number, I had to visit my local Canadian Tire store and pick up the replacement. That unit worked well for about nine months before it failed. Considering service depot charges and all the driving involved, it cost me something like $100 for a warranty replacement (not including my time). No more fooling around with this junk. I just ordered a Kenmore dehumidifier. Hope that one is a better investment. I see now that Canadian Tire no longer sells these units. Maybe they figured it out. Judging from other Whirlpool reviews, it seems I am not alone in my views. My recommendation - stay away from Whirlpool!

I purchased a new home in 2005 and equipped the kitchen with Whirlpool appliances. Every single appliance has broken at least once. The refrigerator ice-maker has been repaired once and replaced twice. Some of the control panel buttons on the dishwasher work some of the time. Other times we have to strike the panel to make them work. Weve had to replace the handle on the microwave door twice at nearly $50 a pop. And the motherboard on the dual-oven has been replaced once. I will NEVER purchase another Whirlpool appliance for as long as I live.

I just want to say that this washer is indeed a colossal waste of money. I bought an HE machine thinking Id be environmentally responsible, but the amount of times I have to re-rinse clothes negates that. Whats worse is that clothes come out dirtier than when they go in. Thats right--just put a brand new set of sheets in the washer and when they came out, there were dissolved detergent marks and gray, linty patches all over them (this using warm water and a soft gel detergent)--resembling dirt you might get from hanging clothes on a mildew clothes line. I cant tell you how many times I need to re-run the drain and spin cycle. This wastes time, water and quality of life. Id try to re-sell it on Craigslist but wouldnt want to subject anyone else to it--not fair even at $100!Updated on 02/23/2015I wrote a review in September 2014 on the Whirlpool cabrio model WTW5600XWO. To update the community on my recent customer service experience with Whirlpool: I wrote them a letter a few weeks ago stating that I dont expect them to follow up but wanted to let them know I would be buying Bosh products from now on and reiterating my anger at needing to miracle brush any dark piece of clothing after it goes through the cabrio. My letter specifically said I did not expect customer resolution but wanted to express what a rotten product they produced and marketed. They called back leaving a message to the effect: We apologize want to help you but need to speak in person. Please call [toll free number] and have your make and serial numbers available. I called back, and after waiting on hold for 10 mins., the rep took my model and serial numbers, said, Oh I see your letter. Please give me a moment to review it. Then I was told there was nothing she could do. I do apologize for your frustration. I couldnt BELIEVE they would bother contacting me only to make me go through that charade-- They are PATHETIC! I say boycott the company! Well, I certainly will.

The Whirlpool Gold Series we purchased, to replace the older refrigerator, has far exceeded our expectations. The French Door setup was exactly what my wife had talked about. The saleslady at Home Depot, where it was the least expensive by $283, was very well informed. We went through the specs, colors, types of finishes, etc and picked the perfect one for my wife's needs and wants. The model performs well fully loaded or almost empty. She told a few family members and they went out and bought the same model, or next model up, as we did. To wrap it all up, "Buy this. It performs as well as, if not better, than all the rest."

We purchased a Whirlpool side by side from Lowes and an extended warranty. Immediately maybe a month the ice maker froze. Ice container in the door. Repairman said design is notorious for this problem. This was an ongoing problem. They replaced icemaker and it continued. Finally the warranty people told me it could be deemed a lemon if repaired for the same issue 4 times in a year. They deemed it a LEMON and I received a store credit for the purchase price less the warranty amount. I purchased a new LG French door. No issues and its been 5 years. If you have an extended warranty do some checking on the lemon.

I purchased my Whirlpool side by side refrigerator approximately 6 months ago. Immediately upon delivery the compressor showed itself to be very noisy, especially upon start up. I questioned the delivery persons and was told it would become quieter with time. It did I not. In fact, in the following days it got worse. I contacted Whirlpool and was sent an “approved” repairman. The confusions and scheduling difficulties in this process, however, were many. Finally, when the man did arrive. He listened and said the refrigerator was working but agreed it was loud but apologized there was nothing he could do.I called Whirlpool again several times to note the noise and constantly was given the sympathy of people saying they “understood but there was nothing they could do.” Finally, out of desperation I contacted the store where I had purchased the refrigerator and they sent a manager who agreed the unit was unreasonably loud and took the refrigerator back. I researched the Whirlpool company and found they are essentially the same company that makes several other common American name brands, so I made a point not to purchase from any of these companies. Instead, I purchased from a foreign manufacturer and couldn’t be happier. All I can say is I tried to buy American but have been greatly disappointed by both the product and lack of customer service by Whirlpool. I will not buy from them or their other companies again.

I bought a Whirlpool fridge in 2014 and started having problems a year late
I bought a Whirlpool fridge in 2014 and started having problems a year later. It was making really loud noises and the fridge part wasnt working. All the food was warm. Of course there is no warranty on it after one year. I called a repairman and he said that the doors dont seal properly so the warm air is getting in causing condensation which freezes the engine/fan which is the cause of the loud noise. The reason why the upper fridge is warm is because the fan pushes the cold air up from the freezer, which of course wasnt working. Then I noticed that the frame at the bottom of the fridge is bending causing the freezer not to seal properly which would be the reason for warm air getting inside the fridge.

Having multiple apartments I have some experience with water heaters, with that being said, old school water heaters would last 30 years with basically no maintenance. Since those old, manual no BS flashing light codes were replaced with Whirlpool brand, I see constant problems. Honeywell valve/motherboards was the worst thing that could have been put on any equipment. More or less they all failed within few months past warranty expiration date. Replacement part is cost almost half of what brand new product costs. When called customer service, they are aware of said problem but will not help, or recall above product. There are plenty of videos and forums of people complaining about the same issue. Being poorly treated by customer service, I know that I will no longer be spending my money on whirlpool brand. 3 years off of the water heater is a joke.

Whirlpool N50T91-403 purchased in Mar 12 had an error code 4. I knew the water heater had a safety installed in it when I was working on the plumbing and allowed it to drain the hot water side down to 16% of capacitance of 50 GL. After the plumbing issue was resolved, I saw the water heater had shut off (thermal protection) but the switch wasnt tripped as far as I could tell. Knowing small processors can only remember anything if they have power, I removed the Honeywell circuit board and with my multimeter probed all of the capacitors contacting them both (-) and (+) and in reverse order. Doing this forces the IC to forget its codes because they require a small amount of voltage to remember them, usually powered by a small capacitor. I reinstalled it and voila! Presto! It works again.

We purchased a brand new Whirlpool water heater from Lowe’s two years ago. The water heater is not heating properly, and I contacted customer service to inquire about their great warranty. I was very disappointed with their poor customer service, but above all, their warranty. They emailed instructions to run a test, which did not resolve my issue since I still run out of hot water halfway through my shower. Mind you, its only one person in the house for a 40-gallon Whirlpool water heater. I have replaced the heating elements and thermostat, and it is still not heating. I contacted Whirlpool customer service, and they are refusing to replace it, stating that the water heater is working. I will never buy any Whirlpool appliances again. They do not back up their products, and their customer service is worthless. My recommendation is not to buy Whirlpool products.

It was not mistreated in any way! The problem is in the computer part of the machine.Everyone knows that to have a repair person come out is costly in itself, add to that repairs and parts, and it isnt worth it to fix an appliance most of the time. I bought a Whirlpool CABRIO washing machine. I was assured it would do large & bulky. I didnt realize that being so called energy efficient meant that it didnt put enough water in to get my clothes saturated! On large loads or bulky items when I put in my laundry detergent only to find out I had to try to wash them again. Parts of the clothes would still be unwashed & dry after going through a whole cycle! After washing the clothes that did get clean comes out looking like I took them to a stream and washed them on rocks. I bought two Whirlpool (Model: bfg1j4o4t3nov4o) natural gas water heaters. The pilot light would go out to so I re-lit it and sit in the attic until the water got hot and the burner go out. But before the burner went out, I could see the flame go from blue to yellow and hear the water dripping down on the burner. So, after the burner goes out, the water would drip down on the pilot light putting it out. They sent me a thermo coupling for free but that was never the problem. The problem is that the water heaters are poorly insulated which causes the water to drip down on the pilot, putting it out. To make a long story short, no part they send will fix these heaters. I have a GE heater in my house for 20 plus years and it is still kicking. I should have went back with that same heater. For some good news, I got my money back from Lowes. I raised so much hell in that store that the manger gave me my money back just to get me out of his store. I made them realize that all we want is our hard-earned money back from a product that does not work.

Whirlpool washing machine M# wtw7340xw2 / S# c14270996 - Bought in 11/26/2012. Never was real satisfied with the way the clothes were washed. They never came out real clean and smelled like there was still soap in the clothes. It has been less than two years and now it will not run. Turn the unit on and all it wants to do is turn on the pump to drain the tub. Im a refrigeration technician and know how to run a diagnostic test Whirlpool has for this machine. I get an LF code which is water long fill so I checked out the water tube which is ok. So the problem is in the circuit board not sensing the water level. To replace this board is around $350 dollars and if I had someone else do the work I would be looking at over $550 dollars. I only paid around $500 dollar for the washer so it does not make any sense to put a new solid state board into this washer which cost as much as the washer. Our old GE washer lasted us for over 20 years and did a better job washing our clothes. There should be a better warranty on these machines than one year. I did not buy the extended warranty because of the cost and I expect that the product should last at least 10 years or more.

We bought a Whirlpool freezer-bottom 18.5 cu ft. fridge from Lowes. The compressor broke in less than three months of regular use. I called Whirlpool who sent A&E to check it out. The technician didnt even file a report and lied to me about what was wrong with the fridge. They sent a different company to come look at it and they confirmed that the compressor is broken. I called Whirlpool customer service and was told that the warranty only covers repairs not replacement even though I paid over $1,000 for a defective product. The excuse: Its a man-made product so we cant guarantee it! So what used to be a 3-5 year warranty not too long ago is now what? A one-year warranty is virtually useless. I can see a future not too far off where there is no warranty at all. Where is the protection for the buyer? If I wanted to purchase a second-hand fridge, I would have. I will never buy Whirlpool again.

After 6 years, Our $2500 Whirlpool refrigerator stopped cooling and would not dispense ice. Since we had purchased a Whirlpool extended warranty, a Whirlpool authorized technician replaced the compressor and informed Whirlpool it also required a new door that included an ice dispenser. A door was not available so Whirlpool refused additional repair and refunded the $400 purchase price of the warranty. Meanwhile the refrigerator stopped cooling again and Whirlpool refused any additional obligation. The refrigerator was now non-functional and we had to spend $3500 to get a comparable refrigerator. The moral: 1) Whirlpool makes very expensive refrigerators that have about 30% of the life-span compared to earlier vintage refrigerators. 2) They know this and will promptly refuse to warrant their product if it is to their benefit. Shame on you Whirlpool for using your corporate leverage and shady business practices to manipulate your customers.

My washer is nearly 7 yrs. old. It has almost been a full-time spectator sport. Good thing its in the kitchen! Twists sheets so badly - on sheets setting - that it stops and I must undo the balloon its formed and rearrange the wet, heavy 2 sheets and 2 pillow cases. Now, it cant even finish the clean washer cycle without stopping. It seems it doesnt use enough water to do the job of washing items thoroughly. And it balks at heavy loads - which is what we bought this washer to do - blankets, rugs, quilts, etc. Two people, now only one, and two small dogs. I should have at least 10 years of service from that purchase. Repairman says $300+, and he sees it as a very common code. Build them to last or give up. Im disgusted with Whirlpool now.

In 2013 my oven died. Upon doing some research my husband and I went to our local appliance stores in search of a new one for a good deal. We chose a Whirlpool electric range with convection oven. We have had it 2 1/2 yrs and have used it often... until today we had been very happy with it. While baking some French fries we heard a loud pop, almost like a shot, running to the kitchen to find the inside tempered glass shattered! Wow! Shocked to say the least we couldnt believe it. Called our Lowes store, to no avail our warranty had expired. They gave us Whirlpools number with no success. I am extremely disappointed and will probably never buy Whirlpool again!

Everyone has been impressed with how quiet my Whirlpool Gold Series dishwasher was and how clean the dishes came out, but that didnt last but 3 short years. In the life of a dishwasher, 3 years should be less than a third of the life expediency. I purchased a 3 year protection plan from Sears only to find out that it included the year you get the new appliance, so it just added 2 years. Just my luck. I have bragged and bragged and bragged on this dishwasher because it was quiet and cleaned so well, but now I know that was premature because it should have last much longer. I sure didnt get my moneys worth.

My water heater burner went out after just over 3 years caused the pilot to go out. I was worried that although all parts were covered for 12 years and labor for only 3 and the labor would be very expensive. When I called and told them about the problem they said the part was covered and would ship it next day air but 10 minutes later another rep called and said they would cover the labor as well and to check a nearby service company as they might have the part in stock. Long story short without having to scream and yell my problem was corrected within 8 hours and all I have to do is drop off the new burner at the service company when it arrives. I have been lucky and haven't had many warranty problems in my life but none that I have had have been resolved so painlessly. I will never buy anything but Whirlpool from this day forward. Thank you Whirlpool.

Purchased a Whirlpool french door refrigerator at Lowes less than two years ago. Last week the freezer compartment failed, out of the one-year warranty of course. The independent tech who came to service the machine told me of all the refrigerators he services Whirlpools are the closest to total junk and he would never recommend them. Wish I knew him before I bought this soon to be piece of trash. The CEO of Whirlpool, Jeff Fettig, received total compensation valued at $14.4 million in 2010, up about 15% from a year earlier, the appliance maker reported in a securities filing recently. Appears to me that Mr. Fettig is ripping off customers for his own gain, with his boards approval. Shame on all of them -- another example corporate rip offs that are plaguing our nation.

I purchased the Stainless Steel, side by side with water and ice dispenser, model #WRS325FDAM04 on 11/30/16, paying over $1,600 for the refrigerator. We had trouble from the beginning with the freezer door not closing all the way. When the repairman came out, he said the entire door had to be replaced, as it was warped. Since then, one by one other items are breaking in the freezer and refrigerator. The plastic casings holding the glass shelves have broken on all three shelves in the refrigerator, the wall of the refrigerator and the freezer is cracked in several places, the ice bin has a hole in the bottom, where the device rotating the ice out broke and now when used, ice falls into the freezer, and the bins in the refrigerator have broken as well as some of the door shelves in the refrigerator and freezer.I called Whirlpool before posting a review to provide them an opportunity to at least offer to help in some way. Their response was due to so many pieces missing/damaged they would not be able to help in any way at this time. I purchased a Whirlpool product as I expected I was purchasing a quality product with quality workmanship from a reputable company. I have been sadly disappointed and will no longer support Whirlpool by purchasing any item manufactured by them and will share my experience at every opportunity.

We have a Whirlpool range that was produced for Kenmore (Sears brand). It’s a glass top with electronic controls. Over the 13 years we have had this range we’ve had to replace the controls 3 times at a cost of over $300 each time. Each time we were under severe lightning storms and got hit with a surge. It would burn out the Control board. We finally got a whole house surge suppressor since a large device is required for 240 volt appliances. Also the glass top has gotten scored over the years. We would not recommend this oven and will likely replace it with an industrial gas stove with manual controls when this one dies or gets too expensive to repair.

Misinformation provided about their products - I ordered the Whirlpool 30 Drop-In Electric Range pictured in their literature with a gray oven door. When I had it installed, I thought it had a green film covering the oven door. It is not a film. It is the oven door color. It does not show that or talk about it in any of the literature. I would not have bought or paid to have this range installed. The green color does not go in my kitchen! I would sue them for misinformation if I had the money to spare! I bought my Whirlpool top loading washing machine 07-22-14. I so dislike the locking mechanism and will be certain to never, ever buy a machine with that feature again. It is so irritating to try to add something but cant because its locked so have to hold the button 3 seconds to unlock and start all over. If there was any way to get around it I would. I will stay away from Whirlpool products in the future and will be sure to check the next time I buy that the lid of the washer can be lifted when not spinning. Also, I do not like that it sticks on rinse sometimes and the only way to end a cycle is to hold the button and then start over with much wasted water.

I agree with the person who said they would rate it no stars, because this washing machine model (Whirlpool Cabrio Model No. WTW8500DC4) does not deserve one. It truly does need to go back to the engineering department. This washing machine is a replacement for another Cabrio! Short story on the first one: Installed on February 2, 2017. October 5, 2017, machine would not go. Then began a series of waiting for repair people, parts, etc. I think it was a total of four trips -- the first one to inspect, three to install parts, the last one being where the repairman took the machine totally apart in the laundry room and was here for several hours. Still would not work. On November 29, 2017 (almost two months later!), Whirlpool had one delivered by JB Hunt. Well, that wasnt so short. This complaint is on the replacement machine. Installed on November 29, 2017. On February 3, 2017, washer said it was done. Well, it wasnt! Clothes were sopping wet, had not been spun, and the fabric softener had not released meaning, I guess, that they had not been through the rinse cycle. It gets better! Tried to start it on a short wash, meaning not very dirty as that is the only way to shorten the cycle. The timer showed 40-something minutes, then went to 1:36 minutes, then to 1:42. Turned it off, unplugged, let sit 15-20 minutes. Plugged in, started it back up. It went crazy! Water was pouring in the machine, then I heard a noise, looked to see what it was -- it was water coming out the bottom of the machine. Husband turned off the water spigots, didnt stop the water. I unplugged the thing from the wall; water did stop.Water was in the laundry room, the pantry, the kitchen! Thankfully I was standing there to see what it was doing or it could have been really bad. This time I took photos and video of this thing. Technician is coming Wednesday. Well see, wont we? Do not want another Cabrio, but what do you do if, like most people with new washer/dryers, you want a matched set?

We bought a Whirlpool side by side at the end of August 2017. In March of 2018 - the day after I got the letter about extending my warranty - they had to replace the diffuser - it was making a horrid noise and freezing my eggs and milk. This part went again in July. I insisted they extend my warranty which they did - until March 2019. The part went again in November. I again demanded an extension - now it is guaranteed until June 2019. I asked about replacement and was told that as long as it was reparable they would not replace it. This part is dying every four months. The first few times I called, the hold recording touted a repair app - that did not give me much confidence in the company.

No response from Whirlpool, but I did find out what the rust was. Instead of using stainless steel or plastic or rubber, the inside light frame is made of a cheap metal that has rusted and is literally falling apart, sharp and very rusty pieces were falling into the washer tub. No wonder I find holes in the clothes that werent there before washing. I removed what I could, including the part it should hold, a plastic plate that covers the light, protecting it from moisture. My husband covered it with electrical tape to prevent injury and possible electrocution. I contacted Whirlpool, but they have ignored my questions and have not answered. They do not have a replacement part for it (stated on their parts website) They give you no solutions to a problematic appliance that should have been recalled and taken off the market due to safety issues that have caused injury and possibly worse.

We purchased a Whirlpool refrigerator (WRT5L1SMYF00) in April 2012. Within 2-1/2 months, items were freezing on the shelves of the fridge box. I called Lowes & was told to call Whirlpool. I did as suggested & they sent out their service co. tech, Turner Consumer Services. I had all the same issues as everyone else in these reviews. i.e., food freezing where it shouldnt or spoiling when the stat was turned down even one notch. The staff at Whirlpool was as uncooperative as is possible. They smiled and lied to my face during phone calls - anything to get me off the phone. During the next 4 months (till Nov.), techs came out 5 times, never having the part needed on the truck. Always, it was my fault somehow that my stuff was freezing. Their chosen tech service employees were rude, condescending and without knowledge. Five service calls, 3 parts replaced and numerous calls to Turner & Whirlpool got me nothing but stalling tactics. I, too, was told that their tech had to fail the appliance before they could consider replacement - all lies. The tech, when he gets here, says hes not allowed to fail the unit. On the 11th of Nov., I awoke to totally frozen-up coils which kept the fridge box from cooling. We had company here from out of town. We moved out the new fridge, moved back in our 21-yr-old unit and got through till our visitors left. Whirlpool has been completely unresponsive to my appeals for some relief from this fiasco. I continue to receive requests from Whirlpool to purchase an extended warranty. Really? My husband & I went out to Sears and purchased a GE & have had no issues with it whatsoever. We are older, on a fixed income, and can ill afford to purchase 2 fridges in 7 months, not that Whirlpool cares. Not only will I never buy another Whirlpool product, but I will warn everyone possible to not buy from them. In fact, my intention is to use every possible forum, Facebook, Twitter, any & all review sites here in KC, MO or anywhere to put Whirlpool down. I am, however, considering one more expense - a lawyer.

My Whirlpool Cabrio washer (WTW6600SG2) is a money pit! After reading all of the nightmare stories concerning this washer one would think Whirlpool would offer a recall and try to correct their wrong doing. Do not buy a Whirlpool Cabrio. It was the worst decision I have ever made! Whirlpool does not stand behind their products. I cant believe they can get away with treating their customers so unfairly, taking their hard earned money for crap like this, then not offering to help after so many have had issues. The Cabrio is loud, doesnt get clothes clean, and is always flashing UL for uneven load (when it works at all). My local repairman has made many trips to fix my problem Cabrio. This time he is at a loss. Ill be buying a new washer and it will not be made by Whirlpool! Please, if you are reading this be forewarned!! The soap/fabric dispenser holds water after each load (I have to take paper towels and get the dispenser empty!!!). There is not enough water to properly clean the clothes. I have never noticed a reduction in my water bill and have had this piece of junk since 4-25-13. There is NO short cycle on this junk machine. There is an odor to my towels - like they are musty - after I dry them and use them. I use Tide HE detergent and clean the washer with Affresh (you shouldnt have to clean a washer). We bought this product and had only had it for a couple of weeks when I spilled soup on the open microwave door. My mistake, but I would think that might happen to other people once in a while. The soup leaked around the window gasket of the microwave and streaked the interior of the door. It also ran down into the door of the oven and streaked the interior of that door. No way to clean this up that I know of without taking the door apart. I think these gaskets should not allow liquid they leak into the inside of these doors. Whirlpool says its my problem. I purchased a new water heater in August 2013. The pilot light started going out in October/November of 2013. After calling the Tech Support phone number, (877) 817-6750, I was advised to clean the burner screen. First this is very difficult to do because the burner screen is underneath the water heater and almost impossible to access. Second the closet the water heater is in did not show any signs of debris that could clog the burner screen. I did as they recommended. Several calls, and several weeks later, they finally authorized a technician to come and service water heater. He performed a cleaning even though he couldnt find anything to clean; and he replaced the control module. The new control module worked through the spring and summer seasons and then I started having issues again in the fall, late October. Started calling the same phone number and was told again to clean the burner screen. I convinced them to send out the technician again. The A and E Factory technician came out and only cleaned the burner screen and left before I had a chance to get home. This happened several times and I called Whirlpool every time. The next A and E technician told me to try changing out the draft vent chimney to a different size, which I did. Problem happened Again! I finally asked for another plumber and they sent me 3 names of their authorized plumbers. I called Phil, Philco Plumbing. He told me that I needed to have more ventilation, so I added more ventilation, even though I later found documentation stating I already had more than what was required by the manufacturer. Again, a week later, started having problems. Call back and asked to have my personal plumber come out. This time the rep told me that I have always been free to choose any plumber I wish (why wasnt I given that option the first 10 times I called?). My plumber came out and replaced the control module and the thermocouple, but wasnt convinced that these were faulty parts, he honestly couldnt figure out why I am having this problem, but it was worth a try. That lasted about 1 week and now I am having the problem again!!Whirlpool will FINALLY authorize a new water heater, but they will not authorize installation for the new water heater. I have already spent money on recommended repairs that have not worked. I have taken 15+ hours off of work to watch plumbers do nothing that has rectified my problems. And now Whirlpool wants me to deal with installing the unit myself, OR pay to have it installed! They say they wont cover installation because I purchased it more than 1 year ago. They seem to be missing the fact that I have had trouble with it the ENTIRE time I have owned it!This Flame lock system is garbage. I found on Consumer Affairs that a few years ago a class-action lawsuit settled, dealing with the same issues. I think it is time for another round! I KNOW that I am not the only one dealing with this problem because the plumbers I had out all had similar complaints from many of their clients. Whirlpool wont fess up to the problem, but the problem is real.

If I could give no stars I would. I own the Whirlpool Cabrio, which I bought only 2 years ago. Im on my 3rd service call. They replaced my board after only 1 year of owning it and now 2years later its the same error message (F6E2), the board again. Besides this problem the machine is horrible! Every load has to be done on the deep water mode or else your clothes will come out with dry areas. Forget about darks - they come out with lint and soap residue all over them. So for darks you have to use extra rinse cycle but still the clothes come out with lint all over them. Laundry has turned into a nightmare for me. And the clothes arent clean. If I dont spray and scrub any stains, the clothes come out with the stain still on them. Dirty white socks come out dirty, even with bleachI dont use warm water on my clothes because it shrinks them and I dont put all of my clothes in the dryer because it shrinks them. So I am constantly using lint rolls, like crazy on all my darks. And even though the machine is very large I was told to never put a lot of laundry in it because nothing will get clean. So now I have to do more loads of wash. Doing laundry has turned into a job, a horrible job that takes hours. So now I have to use deep water, extra rinse and smaller loads so how is this energy efficient - its NOT, its the opposite of efficient. I am doing more wash and using more water. I use liquid HE detergent like they said. I clean my washer when it lights up to clean it. I dont know what else to do. I just called whirlpool about all of this and my second board being broke within 2 yrs and they dont stand by their products. I have to just keep getting it fixed through my extended warranty company. Thank goodness I bought an extended warranty.I would never ever buy anything whirlpool again! Dont buy this washer if its still available, it is the worst. Even if cabrio isnt available (which I dont see on their site) I still wouldnt buy whirlpool. They should replace my machine with a different one at this point. Not that I want another whirlpool but at least I would have a machine that works. This machine completely stopped working after the error code so I have no machine for 4 days now. I waiting for my extended warranty to get back to me and then I have to make an appointment for the appliance company to come and fix it. This is crazy. All these days and I cant do laundry. I dont think I should have to pay the money I did for this set and surely shouldnt of had to replace so many things that went wrong or put up with the sewer smell from the washer!

I bought a range on 2/11/11. On 2/14/12, I cleaned the oven for the first time at high temperature and noticed burned grease marks which appeared at the inside of the glass in front of the oven. I called for service and the repairman took apart the door and cleaned it. He said it would probably happen again. There was a leakage somewhere and he couldnt repair it. I think it is a quality control problem at the manufacturing levels.

It looks like I have the exact same problem as everyone else. Purchased an Energy Smart Whirlpool water heater at Lowe’s. Now I need a new controller. Hope they send me the non-catching fire type of controller.I am going to predict that the company will provide a response that says something like” “Hey, we really want to help you get your hot water back! Just contact us privately so we can discuss this without everyone being able to see what we tell you to do.” So far we are just out of hot water while we went through their diagnostics. They told me that this often happens and the best way to fix it is to let the hot water run in the shower for 20 minutes, then hold down the reset button on the controller for 5 seconds, and do that every time I experience this problem. I hope mine doesnt catch fire. Fire is bad.

We purchased Whirlpool Cabrio 8.8 cubic ft Electric Dryer with Steam Cycles (Chrome Shadow) Energy Star Model WED8500DC and Whirlpool Cabrio 5.3 cubic ft High-Efficiency Top-Load Washer with Steam Cycle Model WTW8500DC and have had no issues at all, only personal issues, such as me being 54 tall and cant reach the bottom of the washer tub to take out all my clothes, so my husband helps, he is 5 9 tall and can reach in it fine, so we do laundry together now! We have washed very small loads to large loads such as, bedding sets without any issues at all. We love the gorgeous look as well. We have only owned these since November 2015... so about 4 months now, but we are completely satisfied! We have always owned Whirlpool, our old set we bought in 1998 and they finally gave out in 2015! Whirlpool for life for us!

If I fix this washer I will have been on 3 motherboards in the 5 years I have owned this machine. That is inexcusable and indicative of crap quality control and manufacturing process. I purchased a new Whirlpool Cabrio washing machine from DeWaard & Bode
I purchased a new Whirlpool Cabrio washing machine from DeWaard & Bode at Bellingham, WA in January of 2007. The serial number is **** and the model number is ****. Several months ago, the dreaded F1 code appeared. The code initiates when the washing machine is started and must be cancelled and started 3 times to continue washing. Later, with approximately 19 minutes left in the cycle, the code reappears and requires canceling and restarting another 3 times, at times 4. I have no extended warranty so I have no coverage for repairs. I also dont want to pay for a service call for what is most likely the computer module as evidenced from the majority of complaints online. This washing machine still looks new and works other than the inconvenience of having to stand by when starting the cycle to reset the code and then having to run upstairs later to reset the machine when its partially through the cycle. At some point, it will likely quit operating all together. I have purchased several appliances over the years from DeWaard & Bode and will be replacing all kitchen appliances again next year due to a planned remodeling but at this time, I do not intend to get them locally due to this issue. I have reviewed several comments online and feel that Whirlpool has a real problem with this particular machine that they refuse to be responsible of. I was offered an extended service plan for 1 year at $132.01 or 3 years for $336.61 but Id have to wait to be allowed to utilize it due to existing circumstances. Im not sure if a fix is actually available. The local dealer did not offer any assistance.

In July I purchased a Whirlpool Gold oven and cooktop from Lowe’s. It was delivered in Aug. after a 5 wk wait, since it had to be ordered. Since installation, the hot surface light on the cooktop stays on. I called in & was told to try resetting the elec. breaker. Did that... still stays on. Model G7CE3034XB00, Serial D43005649. On Sept. 4th I called & spoke to Carrie (I believe in TN) who told me she would try to find a service tech in my area & would get back to me in 3-5 days. Apx. 5 days later she called & left a message on my cell phone stating that she could not locate a service tech in my area. I would need to find my own service tech & submit any invoices to the resource dept for reimbursement. Parts could be ordered at no charge. I have nothing in writing from the company to confirm I would be reimbursed, nor was I told how to correspond with the resource dept in the event I had an invoice to submit for reimbursement.Today, Sept. 18th, 2014, I called Whirlpool again (800-253-1301) & talked to Stephanie in Michigan. She told me the same info. When I asked to be sent a wiring schematic I was told I didnt need one. When I asked how to get in touch with the resource dept. I was given a fax no. & email acct. When I asked how I was supposed to get in touch if I didnt have either, she said I should go to the local library. Now lets imagine for a moment that I am disabled or live so far out in the country that I cannot get to the library... How am I supposed to get to a fax or email acct. Has anyone at Whirlpool considered that? This is a new appliance under full warranty, yet it has become my job to find a service tech, pay up front, & wait for reimbursement. REALLY??? I am also in the market for a new dishwasher & you can bet it wont be a Whirlpool!

It washes with a couple of shakes back and forth and when my clothes are ready they seem like they were dipped in water. Not clean. It has all these fancy buttons for all different types of cycles and loads and they all seem to wash the same. As a mother of 3 kids I want my kids to put on CLEAN clothes. Not clothes that look like they have just been dipped in the water with detergent. I feel a good on cleaning board and my hands do a lot more than these high priced washers.

I initially purchased all new Whirlpool products as part of my new home purchase in a Pulte subdivision, June, 2011. My WP microwave failed to heat in 2012 and the replacement of the Magnetron and Inverter and service was covered under warranty (would have cost me $493.51). Sadly, the microwave again failed to heat in 2014. I was so disgusted with this second failure, I decided to live without a MW until January, 2016 when I paid for my second service call and learned, once again, I needed a replacement Magnetron and Inverter, to the tune of $400. Both servicemen told me the 2011 magnetron/ inverter mechanisms were new technology and did not last long. Again, sadly, when I contacted Whirlpool, they would not admit to their defective product line and indicated they could do nothing since I am out of warranty. It is unconscionable that a corporation is not liable for their defective products.

In September 2011, we purchased a Cabrio Washer and Dryer. Both appliances are extremely inferior. My first complaint to Whirlpool was in reference to the dryer. It kept overheating to the point that you couldnt even touch the clothes. In doing research I found this was a common problem and in some cases, even caused fires. After finding this out and contacting Whirlpool to complain and see if there were any recalls, they indicated they knew nothing about the problem and recalls would have to come from their legal department. I asked to speak with someone in that department and was told that was not possible. We threw the machine away and purchased a new no frills dryer. Now the washer has totally died. It would make noises, lockup, not spin, not clean, etc. Basically all the complaints other consumers have listed. It is now on the curb and I will again have a purchase a new washer. The Whirlpool refrigerator I bought at the same time is a whole other story. Please do not buy Whirlpool. When contacted they show no empathy or concern about the inferiority of their products. There are only the 2 of us now and we do laundry one time a week. It amazes me how much money I am out between the initial purchases, repairs, and replacements. My daughter has also had the bad luck of purchasing Whirlpool appliances and is now experiencing the same problems. Get the word out to all of your friends to NEVER purchase Whirlpool. They are apparently only concerned with their profits and not making good products or caring about their consumers problems. I made a very expensive mistake and will never purchase their products again. I have made them aware that I would be placing my review on your website along with the other 1,690 complaints. I have all my documentation re purchases, repairs, replacements and emails sent to Whirlpool. Unfortunately I cannot document all the calls made to this company. Bottom line, Im very disappointed in the products and the lack of concern. Please do not purchase.

40-gal gas water heater - I own several rental properties and unfortunately put Whirlpool water heaters in them when the old ones go. It is because they are at Lowes and they are cheap. Today, another call came in from a tenant with no hot water. I called customer service and they determined I received the repair kit from an original design defect from back in the middle 2000s. Now 3 years later, it goes out again. Because I have already received the conversion kit taking thermal couple threading from LH to RH, I needed another part number to repair for a grand total of $160! The same part before the conversion kit was $60. I will never buy another Lowes/Whirlpool water heater for as long as I live. I own a hundred rentals and Whirlpool will never again see another cent for the junk water heaters.

We moved into our house about 5 years ago. We didnt know how old the heater was so 2 years after moving in, we replaced it with a Whirlpool Electric Water Heater. (2009) Last August, (2 1/2 years after installation) we found our carpet soaked in the room adjacent to the water heater and discovered it had been leaking into my finished basement for who knows how long. We contacted Whirlpool and they said they would replace the heater but I had to pay for the install because it was over a year. Mind you I had just paid 300 bucks 2 1/2 years before to put that one in. So I paid another 300 bucks to have a plumber come out and install this one. I had extensive damage to my basement, rug, walls with mildew and possible mold from the water. I went through my homeowners insurance and had almost $5000.00 worth of damage. So about a week ago my husband calls me downstairs and guess what, my brand new rug that I had replaced 11 months ago due to a leaking Whirlpool Water Heater was soaked again. This heater, 11 months old, leaked yet again!!! Needless to say Im beside myself, especially when I call Whirlpool and they will replace it, again, but who the hell wants to have damage to their finished basement every year??? When I called and asked them to pay for the damage this time because I cant possibly put another claim in with my insurance in less than a year for the same thing, they just say that they will have the labor charges dismissed as a courtesy. As a courtesy??? I said its been less than a year so they owe me the labor charges; she said no that it goes by the original warranty from 2009. What??? Thats utterly ridiculous and how is it possible that they can get away with this. That has to be against some state statue or law, to use the previous warranty on a defective product. So now Im left with about $2000.00 worth of damages this time to my brand new refinished basement all at the hands of Whirlpool. I had to get another one of their heaters because they wouldnt even give me the money for the heater so I could buy a different kind. I will NEVER buy a Whirlpool product again and Id advise to anyone who will listen to spend a little extra to avoid this hassle!

The repair man came out. I told him it was also tearing my clothes. His only response was dont load it to full. Well, I called the store where I purchased it and they are sending a repair man out again. I told them to either fix this from ripping my clothes or I was going to take a hammer to the machine and never buy a Whirlpool again or give them a good reference. I also called Whirlpool directly and told them of my problem and they acted like they had never heard of this happening before. I told them to search the internet because everyone is having the same complaint! I had a Fridgidaire front loader for 9 years and never had a problem with it eating my clothes.

We bought a Whirlpool Washing machine a couple of years ago. We have been having problems. It does not get the clothes clean and laundry has an odor to it. We bought it at HHGreg by the Dayton mall in Centerville, Ohio and also bought the extended warranty. It was the largest capacity machine they had in Whirlpool so I dont need to mention what we spent for this thing. We have had a service tech out 3 times. The first time he replaced a part. It still didnt fix it. So they were out two other times saying nothing was wrong with it. Not only is it not getting the clothes clean, but is putting lint pieces all over the laundry. The warranty place already said if they come out again and they cannot find out what is wrong, then we would have to pay for the service call. We then went to the store we bought the machine and talked to the manager. We got no help from him. All he did was throw us back to the warranty place. Not to mention, the family is having itching problems with their skin because the clothes are not only not getting clean but the soap is not rinsing out. In other words, we are suppose to eat this expense and move on. This is a new machine!!!!! And all it is worth is taking it to a metal place to scrap out!!!!! We will never buy another Whirlpool product again. It is really **. They don’t back their products up and do the consumer right. There are a lot of complaints online about the same identical thing I am writing about. They should reimburse the people the money that they wasted. Thank you.

We too have nothing but problems with our supposedly top of the line convection/microwave oven. Purchased in 2010 in February for new kitchen. From start, original microwave installed did not work, would not cook or heat. Dealer replaced. One year later, same problem, but now out of warranty. Had to pay labor, costs, and parts to get fixed. Fast forward 13 months, again magnetron needs replaced, microwave will not work. What a hunk of junk for our money. I will never buy any Whirlpool appliances again, and I will tell everyone I know the same. When you call customer service, they are nice but only say “too bad, out of warranty”. What a joke for a major appliance company to tell customers. It is obvious that this microwave is faulty from the get go, and they just keep on making them the same way and not trying to fix the problem.

This microwave oven has worked well now for about six months and overall we have no complaints. My only complaint is that it has a cheap feel to it, especially when the door is closed...it creates a rattle type hollow noise....it just does not sound like it is well made. Time will tell I guess. The unit works well and heats fairly evenly. The cook options are plentiful but we rarely use most of them as we are usually merely re-heating food or coffee. The defrost cycle does work well for us.We purchased this microwave oven as well as a Whirlpool Range and Whirlpool French Door Refrigerator at the same time from a small Home Depot. Whereas that store had the microwave on display it did not have the other two on display and therefore we purchased them sight unseen....a BAD, BAD mistake. I have reviews for those two so I will say no more about them here. Thus, overall, we are very pleased with this Whirlpool Microwave Oven and would recommend it.

We bought a Cabrio washer & dryer September 2010 for a room addition that wasnt completed yet. We didnt get moved in until the first of November. So the washer wasnt used until then. In January 2011 (15 months later) it stopped spinning so clothes were dripping wet. We called Whirlpool and were told that they would be happy to set us up for a service agreement for $322 for one year. We declined since we bought the washer for a little over $500. When we had a local Whirlpool service man come out and he determined that it was the control board which would cost $265 (Whirlpool only warrants parts 90 days). I sent an email to Whirlpool and was told too bad, so sad. We called their customer care line (that is really not the term for that phone center) and asked to talk to a supervisor, who essentially told me the same thing. Whirlpool is making equipment that is extremely poor quality. There is no incentive for them to produce a better quality product as they make money on the extended warranties that are necessary, or if you dont buy an extended warranty they charge an extraordinary huge price for their parts, which they dont warranty. We will never purchase anything made by Whirlpool. I am not sure where this useless piece of junk that I have will end up but I intend to let everyone I know what a terrible company Whirlpool is to deal with.

I have had our new Whirlpool Cabrio Washer for about a year. I absolutely hate it. I along with all the other people that is complaining about their Cabrio. I have found it to stain my clothes, not get them clean... Sometimes not even get part of them wet. I wash every load now no matter how small on the deep water option. I still have to add about 3 to 6 gals of water after it fills to try to help them get as clean as I possible can. I have stopped using fabric softener because I believe that is what may be leaving the stains on the clothes because it doesnt dilute it. Also you cant soak clothes in the washer long enough. I know it offers a presoak but when the clothes are not getting wet... That is not soaking. I tried to fill it up and raise the lid so it wouldnt wash until I was ready for it to wash but it automatically emptied the tub after a short time.It is funny watching the clothes when washing... Even I could tell they were not going to be washed well. I thought who in the world developed this washer. Certainly no one that had ever really considered what women need to wash clothes on a daily basis. I would sell it but I dont think anyone would buy it. If there is a class action suit I would consider joining in. Whirlpool could not have spent much effort in checking this washer out. A lot of money down the drain. I did not buy the dryer because of the lint vent being on top of it. What a mess those make when you have to empty it. So I purchased a Maytag Bravos XL. Now that is a wonderful dryer! As one homemaker to another I suggest you check it out. Never had one I liked more.
