When you purchase a Cabrio high efficiency washer dont expect clean clothes
When you purchase a Cabrio high efficiency washer dont expect clean clothes! But, you can expect holes, torn and, smelly clothes. It takes a ridiculous amount of time to wash. The machine I purchased has a glass top but its dark and you cant see into the machine so that was a waste of money! If you wash clothes in 1/4 depth of water, nothing gets clean. Who even designed this disaster? I had enough common sense to know it was going to be bad but the salesman at Lowes informed me that ALL washers were high-efficiency and getting a tub full of water days are over. I wish we wouldve just paid for repair and kept my old washer. I hate doing laundry with this machine! I use to be able to wash my blankets, pillows, curtains, throw rugs, even car mats with no problems. Not anymore! This machine couldnt handle it. You ought to see my sheets and shirts when theyre done. They come out twisted up so tight I have to untangle them before they go to dryer. What a horrible nightmare of a machine! If we were not out so much money Id send this machine to the junkyard and get a real washer with realistic amounts of water! How are you saving anything when clothes require 2 times to get somewhat clean??? If youre reading this and considering a high-efficiency washing machine, DONT DO IT!! You will regret it. Im counting the days when I can junk mine!

I purchased the Whirlpool Duet washing machine October 2010. When I first got the washing machine, it shook the house (new stick built house) when it was on the spin cycle. They had a repair man come out to tell me that there was nothing wrong with it, it was fine as it was. We thought it was ridiculous, but we are young and didnt know better. He also told us we should fill up the washing machine more than what we where because the clothes wash better when its packed. Big mistake on our behalf! The washing machine has ate thousands of dollars worth of clothing. We did what we where told, so we thought we were doing something wrong. Little did we know we were doing nothing wrong. It was the machine. Then a sock found its way to the drainage field which let water pour out of the washing machine throughout the laundry room and going to the rest of the house. What a mess. We called and they found the problem and removed the sock. Still didnt fix the damaged clothing issue. I called them 1 year and 7 days after we got it and Whirlpool still wont cover their product. They said they where sorry they couldnt help. Well couldnt and wont are two separate things. Its a shame they wont stand behind their product after I bought over $6,000 appliances from them. You think theyd be a little more compassionate to their customers after spending that much money? Now you know how they treat their customers. Dont buy Whirlpool. They (Whirlpool, Maytag, etc. ) are maybe cheaper than their competitors, but its probably worth the extra money if you know theyll stand behind their product. Very unhappy customer!

I purchased this model 2 years ago. I absolutely hate the fact that there is not enough water dispensed to clean my clothes. Part of my clothes dont even get wet, therefore, I have to press pause and add 2 to 3 gallons of water during the wash and rinse cycles. I do like the spin cycle as long as it does not get unbalanced.Wished I had never purchased it.

I purchased a gas hot water heater from Whirlpool. I have had problems with it since it was new. Whirlpool kept sending repair parts, which I installed, until the warranty expired. Now they say “Sorry Charlie, the warranty has expired.” The water heater has never been fixed. They just dragged it along until the warranty expired. Whirlpool has no complaint department or the repair place will not give it to you. They told me there would be no use for a complaint department. They would just tell the same thing the repair was telling me.

Purchased a new range from Lowes in November. It was delivered in January. Was told upon purchase that there was a one year warranty on the item. After using the item approximately three times, a piece of aluminum foil fell to bottom. It stuck to the bottom and removed some of the porcelain. Bacon grease had spilled into the middle of the oven which caused the oven to warp and also discolor the porcelain. They sent a tech out, who called Whirlpool. Whirlpool told them that it was cosmetic damage and only had a 30-day warranty! They also said I had to contact customer service again, which I did. Customer service said that the tech didnt do what he was told to do and that they would send someone out again. The same tech came out, called Whirlpool again, and was told there is nothing that can be done. I asked to speak to a supervisor because I was unsatisfied with this response. A two-month old oven shouldnt look like it is five years old. I never spoke to a supervisor. The rep just kept telling me that there was a 30-day warranty and that it was stated in my manual. After insisting that I speak with a supervisor, she placed me on hold. After a few minutes came back stating that she is sending my request to another department and that they will call me back in three to four days with their decision. I would not purchase another Whirlpool appliance even if they decide to replace this one, which I sincerely doubt that they will. VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!

After only 14 months of light use, the magnetron in my over-the-range Whirlpool stainless steel microwave failed. The cost to repair was $350. I paid $450 for the whole unit upon purchase. I wrote to Whirlpool with documentation and got a voicemail that they were sorry, but the 12-month warranty had expired. The independent repair person said it is the Korean manufacturer of the magnetron that is the problem. He is replacing units all over town on all kinds of models Whirlpool is involved with, including KitchenAid. Whirlpool needs to get their money back from Korea! I will never buy another Whirlpool product and have told them so.

I put some grape jelly on one towel and washed 5 more towels with it, and guess what the stain and jelly are still on the towel. l went over to my daughters and washed the same towels on rinse, and the jelly was gone. Remember, it was on rinse. I THINK the CEO NEEDS to come to my house and wash his white shirts. This is a design problem. Yes, it will save you money, you dont need soap, because the washer doesnt clean your clothes with water or soap. SO, l would like to send the head CEO, this washer. l would love to see how his wife likes this WHIRLPOOL CABRIO... REMEMBER ITS US THAT KEEPS YOUR COMPANY GOING.

After the pilot light on my water heater would no longer stay lit, I contacted the Whirlpool technical support number listed on the unit only to be told my unit was still under warranty, but I would be responsible to pay a $65 diagnostic fee and any labor associated with a repair. The technician came and said my ventilation system was the problem and didnt even touch the unit. He then sent a report to Whirlpool that the unit was flooded which voided my warranty. He did not submit photos to substantiate his water damage claim and now Im being told the unit is unsafe and must be replaced at my expense. This all sounds like collusion to not honor the warranty! I will never purchase a Whirlpool product again!

I bought a new washer thinking I was upgrading. Wrong!! Well the new so called technology they put into these machines is overrated. They took a good thing and instead of advancing they have took two step backwards in time. I wish I had kept the old washer I had. I think I would rather use an old time wringer washer my great grandmother used. They are probably faster by hand. This new Whirlpool grabs every string on my hoodies and twist my clothes so tight in knots. I cant even remove my clothes until I fight and get mad enough to write a review. The stove broke. The burners popped. I called to have it serviced and remember that it had a rebate. I never received any paperwork on the rebate but figured its Whirlpool, good company. Wrong... its not that I didnt have the rebate paperwork but the rebate has expired... even though I didnt get any paperwork nor was there any mentioned of a time frame. Dont get me wrong if it had been 1 year or even 6 months... really 2 months!!! So not only did I not get the rebate of $100.00 I have a broken stove! So tired of being ripped off!

We purchased this washer (Whirlpool Cabrio) about two months ago and we have been extremely dissatisfied with its performance. Quite simply, it does not get clothes or anything else clean! I have tried every possible setting and still the dirt remains on anything that is even slightly soiled. So, I cant believe that things that dont look dirty are getting cleaned either. They probably arent even getting rinsed, even with the extra rinse option. It seems almost nobody likes this machine, so why is Whirlpool risking their formerly sterling company reputation by keeping it on the market? I would be happy if I could return it to the store for a refund, but that is not a possibility as far as I can tell. If you are considering buying this machine - dont!

I have spent 30 minutes trying to change light bulb under the oven and get the cover plate back on. I watched the film on how to do it, it was amusing to watch the struggle to get it on. It was amusing to say the least. Whirlpool watching it??? I do not believe whoever designed this worthless time consuming light cover never tested it one time, or it would had been more user friendly. It amazes me what kind of trash they can build for us consumers to have to deal with at times. Tomorrow this overhead piece of junk is coming out and being replaced by a non Whirlpool one. I am going to get a tractor and smash it into little pieces and put on side of street with a note saying this is what happens when you try for an hour to change the bulb.

When my dryer died my wife and I decided to get both a new washer & dryer. I kick myself for two reasons. My 15-year-old washer which worked fine I replaced, and I didnt check reviews before buying. What a mistake. The eco-friendly Whirlpool washer designed to save energy doesnt clean close, my towels are the worse. Coming out of a shower and using a freshly washed towel to dry off and it smelling like it had never been washed tears it for me. Im hoping like many others they will rebate or even better recall and pay back the money I spent on a worthless washing machine! So, if Whirlpool wont do the right thing, I will do my best to warn others to not buy this top loading piece of **.

Ive owned whirlpool appliances for forty years or more, and have been consistently pleased with them. My first washer and dryer lasted eighteen years while raising a family. Brand X lasted eight years with at least four repairs before we dumped the set. We moved and sold one set with the house, but my newest washer and dryer set is eleven years, and works fine. Ive had at least four ranges. We sold two of them with the houses, but theyve all been fine, just bought a snazzy new Whirlpool range as an upgrade. Im on my fourth Whirlpool refrigerator, but again we sold one with the house and we upgraded one perfectly good Whirlpool refrigerator to a bigger side by side with icemaker. Third whirlpool dishwasher. Weve moved a lot, leaving behind appliances and buying new ones. Sure, Whirlpool appliances break down, but they sell zillions of them, and you never hear about the zillions that never break down.

A Whirlpool hot water heater in an apartment I own would not stay lit. A plumber came to service and told me I needed a part from Whirlpool and that no one in town carried them. I called Whirlpool and after providing all information about the unit, she informed me that she would not send me the part because the serial number was not registered in my name. I explained to her that I purchased the building and did not install the water heater that a prior owner had installed it. All I wanted was a repair part. The Whirlpool rep refused to sell me a part unless I could provide a bill of sale where I purchased the tank. The part cost $41 which I was more than happy to pay for regardless of any warranty coverage. I have an obligation to provide services to my tenants. Being unable to repair the tank for a problem which appears to be commonplace for this brand, I had to replace with a new tank at a cost of $1380.00.

Yesterday I purchased this Whirlpool top load washer model WTW4816FW with agitator and we installed it at our vacation home and I started a small load to wash. Yikes, it made noises like a machine that is on its last legs. I knew from washing clothes for 40 years that this is NOT right. We, hubby and I waited and listened to this piece of junk to finish the cycle. Thank god I had set it for a short wash. We also videoed this contraption while it was grinding. I called Lowes and politely told them I was returning it. Thankfully they never had a problem with us bringing it back. (This must happen often.) I go back to the appliance department and decide on a Maytag. I noticed that it looked like the junk we just returned. I stood there and looked up the model number online and lo and behold there was a video of it doing exactly the same noise. It was virtually the same machine I just returned with just a name change. Needless to say we left the store washerless until I can research this further. I then found out that Whirlpool now owns Maytag. Thing is I just bought a front loader Maytag for my main home and it works good. It was a replacement for a Whirlpool without a agitator which worked well too. The YouTube videos seem to be washers with agitators doing this. I just wish I could post the video for all to hear. I guess we are all at the mercy of big companies who dont care if they make a good product as long as they can make it cheap.

I bought a Whirlpool fridge 4/23/2013. Thanksgiving it went out. I had a repair company come look at it to see how much it would be to repair. He said the compressor was out, it has a freon leak, and the electric board has a relay that is acting up. Basically it would cost $600 or more to fix. I only paid $750, mind you. Whirlpool customer service said if we pay to have it fixed then send them the paid receipt. They would then give me a 6 month service plan for future repairs if needed. We purchased this model in July of 2019 and have had nothing but problems with it since. The design is really bad - if you set the temperature on the ideal setting, everything on the top shelf freezes solid. If you reduce the setting to the one below ideal, your freezer doesnt get cold enough to keep ice cream hard. The ice cubes are a little more than half the size of our last Whirlpool refrigerator and the unit is noisy. Weve had Whirlpool out to work on it 4 or 5 times in the first 6 months and twice weve had to throw away food due to the unit not cycling on and off properly. One of the technicians told us he spends a lot of time working on this particular model - evidently, it has a lot of issues. We are now using our old garage refrigerator while we try to get Lowes to give us a refund on this piece of junk.

After 6 years, Our $2500 Whirlpool refrigerator stopped cooling and would not dispense ice. Since we had purchased a Whirlpool extended warranty, a Whirlpool authorized technician replaced the compressor and informed Whirlpool it also required a new door that included an ice dispenser. A door was not available so Whirlpool refused additional repair and refunded the $400 purchase price of the warranty. Meanwhile the refrigerator stopped cooling again and Whirlpool refused any additional obligation. The refrigerator was now non-functional and we had to spend $3500 to get a comparable refrigerator. The moral: 1) Whirlpool makes very expensive refrigerators that have about 30% of the life-span compared to earlier vintage refrigerators. 2) They know this and will promptly refuse to warrant their product if it is to their benefit. Shame on you Whirlpool for using your corporate leverage and shady business practices to manipulate your customers.

I purchased the 19 cu. ft. Whirlpool Estar refrigerator WRT 3595FYW on 4/28/12. Freezer began showing frost immediately. Repairman from Marcellas Appliance where purchased - (518) 381-1957, came to check it, put a sealer around the door openings of refrigerator and freezer. Frost continued. I called Whirlpool. They sent another repairman from EB Russell in Schenectady, NY, door needs replacing. Door was ordered and when received by them, the door was replaced on my refrigerator. In August 2012, frost is in freezer, on its roof, on the door daily. I called Whirlpool. I told them I wanted to remove it from my home. Whirlpools reply was, you have a repair warranty, not a replacement warranty. I was not advised of this when I purchased. Otherwise, I would have gone to Sears, Lowes, etc. On 8/16/12, another repairman from The Appliance Man, Albany will be here Monday. Its dishonest sale, replacement was advised possible by Marcella, that it was just a matter of course to get an okay from Whirlpool. This is not so. There is no replacement or return policy. I spoke to the executive offices & they arrogantly told me that they only have to make parts for the length of the warranty. Suppose you had a 12 year old Honda that they discontinued a critical part would you feel swindled, I asked. We dont make cars was the response from the executive customer care agent. ARROGANCE How to destroy a company one customer at a time.

After less than three months the oven control failed. Local repairman said it would cost $450, better to get new one. Whirlpool set-up service call with their Certified Technician, who didnt come. I had to pay compensation to rental guests in the property who went without an oven for almost a full week. Also had to buy a replacement ($633) to provide a functioning range for these guests and next weeks guests. Whirlpools only response was to offer to set-up ANOTHER service call. I am out over a thousand dollars. I have been a loyal and repeat Whirlpool customer for years, but no longer. What an extremely unsatisfying experience!

If you are thinking of buying any Whirlpool products, please think twice. We had a dishwasher, lasted 2 years; range with cook-top, within 2 years computer had to be replaced and again in another 2 years. Needless to say we did not replace either one with a Whirlpool. Over the range Microwave Oven Magnetron blows in 5 years. 3 months over the warranty. In a call to Whirlpool we were told we are sorry you have had all this trouble, we will send a repair man out and he can replace the parts needed. Thanks, but no thanks and went out and purchased a Samsung model, probably cheaper than the repairs would have cost us. There are so many good appliances to choose from. Please stay away from any Whirlpool products, no need for additional aggravation.

We purchased a Whirlpool washing machine for $600 from a local retailer and it broke down within three months. It is now been two months and two repairman visits later and still not fixed. I called them and talked to customer service who then transferred me to another department. So far it’s just been the typical runaround with no results. I demanded an immediate replacement but was told that would need approval from yet another department. I don’t remember what departments are involved nor do I care. I am simply disgusted with this baloney.

I have just had one of the worst experiences with any appliance warranty repair service of my life. I rarely complain but strongly feel the company needs to make some changes. They have no repair folks less than 50 miles away from the dealer (and my home). Their refrigerator was sold to me with the understanding that such a service was available as part of the purchase price. Ha! The repairman referred wiggled out of the time assigned to him. Another repair referral will take weeks. The unit is a piece of junk and is malfunctioning in less than a year. When, and if, any repair person comes to my home they will find it in the garage with the rest of my junk.

The average life of a refrigerator is 11 years. We purchased a Whirlpool convertible refrigerator (Model EL7JWKLMS02, Serial # EWR1339731) on 6/12/04 from the Lowes here in Visalia, CA. The first delivered was DOA and Lowes delivered another. That should have been a warning sign. We have had several problems with the product, as early as 2006. All repairs went through Sierra Appliance & Franks Appliances. We are now in the market of another refrigerator to replace this one. We have had to have freon added now for the third time. Sierra Appliance was unable to find any leak, but each time, the freon was depleted. In addition to the health hazard of having freon leaking into the house, we have had the distinct displeasure of having to deal with food waste, etc. Because of the ongoing problems with this product, we are now facing the reality of purchasing another refrigerator to replace this Whirlpool product.Due to this, I feel it is difficult to consider another Whirlpool product and will question any product to ensure that it is not Whirlpool-related. If there is anything that Whirlpool or Lowes can do at this point, it would be appreciated. Thank you for reviewing this note of dissatisfaction. It appears that we will be shopping for a new refrigerator this weekend unless we hear from Whirlpool. In any event, I would like this recorded as a complaint from a former customer.

Bought a Whirlpool Cabrio washer from Home Depot. It started making noises on the spin cycle 2 months after the purchase. A technician came out and concluded it was a clothes hanger behind the machine making the noise. False. Two days later I tried to wash a load. All the panel lights came on. And then the machine died. No power. The tech came out and tried to run tests but the machine would not respond correctly. Informed it has a bad control. The machine will malfunction even if a button is pressed too long. And then its repairman time again. This machine is poorly designed. No doubt whoever designed the digital control panel did not think about ease of use. The tech has to recalibrate the controls after every failure. Whirlpool and Maytag have put out a bad product and this will be my last.

Ive had the WDF510PAY dishwasher for 3 years and the circulation pump broke. To be more specific the impeller inside the circulation pump warped and then basically got lodged because it became oblong and then it wouldnt pump water to the spray arms etc. I bought a new pump because the warranty only last a year. The pump cost around 90 bucks. After not even 1 full year this factory replacement pump failed again. I reviewed other Whirlpool dishwashers more expensive and I found they all have this same junky circulation pump. Im not sure of a better dishwasher but I would never recommend a Whirlpool dishwasher again. They also use the same circulation pump in Maytag and many other brands. Whirlpool or whoever designed and sold this pump to Whirlpool should be tracked down and beaten. Simple products like dishwashers should last more than 3 years. The technology is nothing new. A product should last 10 years at least.

Are there negative numbers for ratings? Horrible, to say the least. Whirlpool is the parent name for KitchenAid ovens. I have an electric oven and the glass on the front door exploded! Whats worse is that I have been given the complete run-around! I have called, wrote, waited, and tried ordering through other companies--still no luck! How does Whirlpool get away with this? It seems that Whirlpool no longer makes the part!! Do they really expect consumers just to replace an oven every few years? Poorest customer satisfaction I have ever experienced! This should be a consumer fraud grand suit, as there are numerous complaints about the same issue with Whirlpool appliances! Stay away from this company by all means!

We bought a Whirlpool refrigerator in January at Home Depot. In July we started noticing that the freezer doesnt work. The ice maker doesnt work, everything melt away. Frozen items were lost. We constantly have to dry the floor since it is leaking water. We called whirlpool on July 27 and they send someone to check it out the following day. He reported that we need a new freezer door. I call for a follow up, I was told that it will take 6-8 weeks before we get a new door and part for the ice maker. We recently called to follow up on the status of the door just to find out that the order didnt get process until mid August. In the meanwhile, the fridge is having condensation. Water is everywhere inside. Fruits are being rotten because of too much moisture. We called again and they send out the same technician. The technician reported that the fridge will not work properly until freezer is fix. We call whirlpool again just for them to tell us to wait for the part, and gave us an extra 6 month warranty.

I recently purchased a Whirlpool Slide in Oven replacing my Amana stove of 15 years. My Amana was a very basic model, and I thought this WP was an upgrade. But it is so poorly made its ridiculous. First of all the bottom storage drawer, is so flimsy, it does not slide out easily, and the top lip doesnt even have a finished edge. Additionally there is a 1 inch gap between the top of the drawer and the bottom of the stove door. But the BIGGEST disappointment was the oven racks, totally flimsy. We used a Lodge Dutch Oven (which we have used many times with our old stove) and the oven rack sagged under the weight. Had I known I would have pulled the racks from my old stove. I contacted that seller about these issues, and they said they are ALL like that even the higher end ones, and I contacted Whirlpool to see if I could buy better quality racks and they said no, this is all they have.

We bought the Whirlpool Duet set for $1,000 18 months ago. About four months ago, it started shredding our clothes. I would get them out with holes in them, but there was nothing sharp in the washer. Then the grey outside seal started deteriorating and getting tiny balls of rubber all over my clothes, ruining several white shirts. It always smells like mold. I just went to get my clothes out of it to find out it leaked water all over with that disintegrated rubber from the seal. The seal had completely ripped from the top to the bottom drain for no apparent reason. Now we are replacing the below. We JUST paid it off this month. It is crazy, it is already breaking!

Purchased a home recently that had a Whirlpool dishwasher installed within it. Havent lived here for more than 2 weeks. Go to use the dishwasher a week ago and the dishwasher wont turn on. Its brand new! We tried resetting the breaker and all the tricks on the website page. So we called Whirlpool to have them send someone out and diagnose the problem... a week later. The appliance repair man comes out and says its not receiving the proper voltage for the dishwasher to run. So I contact the electric company that installed the electric wires within the home and they came out the next day to check their work. The electrician found that there was the proper voltage coming into the lines for the dishwasher to run and in fact it is the dishwasher. So at this point Im back to square one and called Whirlpool again. At this point, I just wanted them to replace the dishwasher with a new one (same model, no upgrade) since it hasnt even been 30 days of owning the thing and its already having issues. I havent even used it once. I didnt think I was crazy for asking for a new one. Especially when the problem seems to be electrically related. They tell me another person has to come back out and deem the product unrepairable for them to exchange the product for a new one. They tell me its going to be yet again another week for someone to come deem it repairable or not. But wait heres a 75 dollar Visa gift card for your inconvenience. How about you spend the 75 dollars on hiring a technician to come fix it today? Had a similar problem with a LG appliance and they sent me a new one with no hassle without even sending a tech out to see if it was repairable or not. Buyers beware! Dont waste your money on Whirlpool. Clearly they do not care about their customers. They would rather spend more money in technician fees than to just admit their product isnt functioning correctly and replace it.

We got a brand new bottom freezer french door Whirlpool refrigerator in our brand new apartment. Since we moved in last week the temperature control in the refrigerator box has failed three times. The freezer stays cold but the coils are frosted solid and no cooling gets up to the refrigerator box. We turned on moisture control but that didnt help. The users manual is completely useless and in fact doesnt even match the control panel. The numbers for temperature settings on the instructions dont match the numbers on the panel. We had to turn off and thaw out the unit completely three times already and this is just the first week! Last night the building maintenance guys came in and sprayed the back panel of the freezer with warm water. He said he talked to the GE tech, who suggested we also increase the freezer temperature settings to 4 and the refrigerator to 44. But this morning the temperature rose again. It sure sounds to me like the daily defrost cycle isnt running at all and nobody wants to consider that possibility. Thaw the unit several times a week is completely ridiculous. Our food has experienced so many temperature excursions who knows whether its any good now. I cant wait to get my first taste of salmonella. This is what you get when you combine junk with poor service.

I am very unhappy with this Whirlpool refrigerator model# GX5FHDXVQ 04. I bought this model in October 2011. You have to push the left door to close it and if you dont then the fridge will stay open. I had a Whirlpool tech come to fix this door problem so this is what he told me: 1) You have to push the door in order to close it properly; 2) Before closing the left door, I should first open the right door (losing energy); 3) The gasket will break very fast; 4) Buy a three-year protection plan because you will have to use it; 5) The freezer is very uncomfortable. In the bottom drawer, you have to fit your stuff. If you put your freezer stuff in a drop higher, then you cant close the drawer, so I am losing space; 6) Sometimes when I fill up the fridge, I move the temperature to #5. After a day, the top shelf back stuff will freeze and the front stuff will stay on fridge temperature. Yesterday, 4-18-2012, for the second time, the freezer gets a sheet of ice. Repairman will repair it but who knows. This fridge looks to me like a lemon. The height is 70 but listed as. I rate this fridge with a CCC.

My electric stove is only four years old. In December, 2021, the control panel broke. Digital read out - numbers can’t be read. Service said it is control panel - can’t be found anywhere. Oven has caught on fire twice. House full of smoke. Whirlpool stated my first mistake was not calling them first. I dont have warranty and couldn’t afford a service call so I have DTE protection plan. They sent about appliance repair at their cost. Man said it is control panel and NONE can be found. Whirlpool can’t send THEIR serviceman for another two weeks. I was told to keep circuit breaker on stove pulled. I am 76 and my husband is 84. We can’t go out to eat every night for two reasons: we are on a fixed income - finances will not allow. Plus we both have health issue so I have to cook/bake a certain way. It is going on three months. We can’t afford a new stove every four years. I want Whirlpool to work out some compensation for my stress, aggravation, loss of bakeware that burned in the oven. Took us two days to clean the oven mess, including the glass door - don’t know how it didn’t explode. We had to run downstairs- at 84, moving fast is not that easy, to pull circuit breaker. Moved into a house with a 2009 Gold Series Dishwasher model GU2475XTVY0. It has never worked since we moved in 3 years ago, always left dishes musty and poorly cleaned. Total piece of junk, but looked really nice, stainless finish. Yeah.Latest chapter is it completely stopped working. Called a tech out for the usual $80+. His advice: this is a total lemon, and has been from the start. Not worth repairing. So Whirlpool, is this the standard you have now? 5-6 years for a dishwasher life cycle? I purchased a Whirlpool refrigerator from Gerhard’s Appliance, Glenside, PA on 12/15/2011.There have been problems with the unit since it was delivered on 12/19/2011. One of the deliverymen adjusted the door height then, and the door has been creaking on opening/closing since. That door has been replaced, but the problem continues. The freezer (which has an icemaker/water dispenser built in) started to produce ice on the inside of the unit door and on the wall surfaces. Attempts made to rectify the problem were unsuccessful. A new freezer door was ordered. After the door replacement, the frost problem got worse. I can fax you a copy of all service contacts so far (at least 7). Please help me replace this lemon.

Please do yourself a favor and stay away from both Whirlpool and this unit. I purchased it from a local dealership and paid $881.00 which included tax and delivery cost. In less than 2 years, it broke. Whirlpool does not offer a warranty on the unit. After having a Whirlpool repair person come out for a cost of $75.00, I was informed that the parts to replace would cost $800.00 not counting additional labor cost which was TBD. I contacted Whirlpool and went from Agent (Phylicia) to supervisor (Ashley) to Manager (Carol **). The best offer I was given was to buy the parts at a discount of $400.00 which did not include tax, delivery or labor. So it would have run approx. $550.00 to over $600.00 to fix a $771.00 washer. My next letter is to Jeff Fettig (553 Benson Rd, Benton Harbor, MI 49022/ CIO of Whirlpool) to let him know how impressed I am with his product and customer service support. Whirlpool Washing Machine WTW4800XQ4 - This is an expensive piece of garbage. My clothes come out with lint still on them. They do not smell clean and in fact, I wonder if they even are. My blankets come out heavy and soaking wet, so much so that I have to repeat a rinse and drain cycle before I can place into the dryer. The machine is always off balance and its so loud that my almost deaf grandmother who cant hear a thing wants to know what that noise is when shes halfway across the house each time Im doing laundry. Ive called Whirlpool and they have sent a tech out who insisted it was I who did not know how to load a washer and that was causing all of the problems. I found this interesting since I am 37 and never encountered difficulty with a washing machine before. Our visit concluded when he insisted it was user error and went on his way. The next day, the washer was not even cycling, and I phoned whirlpool back. This time, there was a computer problem and there was no arguing about it. The technician came back out reset the internal computer. The machine seemed to run more quietly for about a week, but went right back to its old loud self. The only improvement Ive noted since then is it does not move across the floor now while washing. I wish I never bought this thing and would certainly never recommend it.

Im not the only one doing laundry and if someone else does it, it always seems that they shut the door when empty, contributing to moisture and mold that needed to be cleaned out of the gaskets. I am so unhappy with my top loader HE washer. When I stop the machine and look, I always see my laundry half covered with dingy water, sometimes part of it still dry at the top and it is disgusting. I frequently have to rewash loads due to detergent getting trapped in folds or pockets created that hold on to dirt and lint, even being careful with the detergent amount. I run the washer now every time with settings of deep water, extra rinse, heavy load and presoak with instructions, with settings taped to the top for others. At almost 1 1/2 hours each load, we just cant keep up. The laundry still forms pockets and sheets form a giant tent over the entire load that has to be unraveled at the end of the cycle and wound so tight it had no chance of rinsing. I had to get a repair person out because it got out of balance and he had a small hand-held computer to enter a code to rebalance it. When we discussed the issues I was having, he was ready for everything I was doing wrong. He told me I can not wash blankets or large items (I thought I was buying large capacity with such an enormous drum). He told me they have caught people adding water with a bucket during cycles and that the washer software can tell them if people are trying to work around the system which voids the warranty.Apparently, this is a common complaint he blames on the government wanting high efficiency so they make the numbers look good, sacrificing the ability of the washer to perform at what a consumer expects. I have never seen the water in my drum higher than a couple inches and the drum is HUGE, but never used to capacity. He told me his wife demanded they get a commercial washer because she was so angry about how poorly it cleaned. I feel so scammed and I wish I could have my old agitator back. $100 for the repair call, $150 for the code to be put in and Im on warning that they will see if I try to add water, run out of balance or dont comply with any reason they can void the warranty by just checking the data the washer is collecting on us.

New Whirlpool Refrigerator makes roaring noise like a broken engine. Whirlpools 2 technicians listened and confirmed but said that as the refrigerator works they can do NOTHING about it. Whirlpool management would not respond to repeated requests. Dont even get near ANY Whirlpool products!!!

I bought my home in 2010 and less than a year my Whirlpool microwave started forming a crack near the handle and today August 22nd, my husband and I are looking at it thinking, this is totally coming apart! My Whirlpool refrigerator had issues also. Stopped cooling less than a year, and I am thankful I had a warranty with it. Of course it was still under the manufacturers warranty. Use to be able to depend on WHIRLPOOL. Now you feel like youre in ONE with their products!

The clock-timer went out. Appliance is only 1yr. 6mo. old. I CONSIDER THIS STILL A NEW APPLIANCE. This is the 2nd Whirlpool appliance, I bought a Whirlpool washer & dryer. The washer went after 2yrs. use. I bought a Kenmore used washer and it still works. I paid cash for the stove. It was bought at a Sears outlet in Cudahy, WI for $398.58 total with the one year warranty. I really have not gotten the use of the price. I guarantee you (this company) I will NEVER buy another Whirlpool appliance again. TOO BAD YOU COULD NOT RETURN A PARTIAL OF THIS MONEY TOO ME!!!!! I have a Sears repairman coming today 8-3-13 costing me $75.00 just to walk in the door.

We get the error code F1 in the start of the cycle and when there is 21 minutes left, we have to stop and reset at least 7 times before the water fills. We put a new sensor in for over $200. The second problem is it goes off balance no matter what the load is. I was going to have it fixed (if possible). After reading all the above I wont waste any more money on it and go buy an old fashioned reliable washer. What a piece of money sucking machine especially when I dont have any extra money to waste down the drain. I wish I knew before. There are a lot of people this time of year I would have rather given the money for a needy cause. How disappointed we are with Whirlpool!

Bought a Whirlpool dishwasher and just over a year later all the wheels fell off the bottom rack. Called to get replacements and it was going to cost me over $200. I paid $800 for the whole machine. I would NOT recommend Whirlpool. I have now heard of other people having the same issue. Very disappointed. Will probably buy a new dishwasher as it will probably happen again with the replacement wheels.

Bought in October 2014. Died December 2015. The previous Whirlpool microwave this unit replaced was 10 years old and carried a 5 year warranty on the magnetron. Imagine my dismay to find out this unit carried only a 1 year warranty on the magnetron. So 2 months past warranty expiration Im left with a dead unit. I performed elementary troubleshooting. The unit has a fuse on the 120 Volt input. But the unit must be disassembled to gain access to the fuse. So what SHOULD be a five minute job turned into an hour and a half. The fuse wasnt the problem - replacement fuses blew like popcorn. Fuse placement within the unit without regard for service considerations is a poor design. To their credit, Whirlpool agreed to cover the cost of repairs if I would pay for labor. I agreed. A tech came out and looked at the unit. He said that he would have to order a bunch of parts and that he would be back in contact by the end of the week. Three weeks went by. There was no call from the tech; my messages on his voicemail generated no response. So a couple of days later I purchased a replacement from a competing manufacturer.

My family purchased a newly built home from a reputable homebuilder on December 21st 2019. On the first week of January 2020, we noticed that our upgraded Whirlpool dishwasher, model #WDT730PAHZ0 was shutting off mid cycle, resulting in dishes remaining dirty. The technician gave us an estimate of nearly $500 for replacement of pump motor assembly. He also informed us that this particular model is well known for having this defect. We are requesting that Whirlpool stand behind their reputation for producing reliable high quality products by replacing our dishwasher.

Oven was purchased new from Home Depot. Right off, the top black glass surface got scratched. Not sure how it happened. Seems to scratch easily. Then, the oven temperature for baking was found to not hold consistent. While pre-heating the oven for 350 F, the temperature goes up to 375 F, then well into the baking time, can drop to 100 degrees less (275 F). Oven feature is called accu bake. It ruined the baking and seems to be anything but.

Whirlpool gas range model WDF560SAFT bisque color, purchased in June 2020 from Home Depot online. After a 3.5 month wait range was delivered September 12, 2020 and installed. Have used the oven less than 5 times. Standing in my kitchen yesterday and heard a pinging noise, noticed chips of the finish all over my floor, it was chipping inside the top of the oven door, overnight the exterior top of the door was also chipping, bits of finish flying all over my kitchen! Have been on hold with Home a depot Cust. Serv. for almost 60 min. Will attempt to return to a Home Depot. Not sure what to do short of complaining about lousy Whirlpool product. Next time will come to Consumer Affairs and research.

My Whirlpool refrigerator needed a $400 mechanical repair shortly after the 1 year warranty expired. Its only been 13 months since repair, and the refrigerator is experiencing the same problems again! Whirlpool is plagued by negative reviews across the internet... hundreds of complaints on Yelp.ca forums, and consumeraffairs.com. There also used to be hundreds of negative Google reviews, but mysteriously all of those reviews have disappeared, and you can no longer leave a Google review for Whirlpool Corporation.

I purchased a Whirlpool Gold French door with the bottom freezer in October 2013. I had one repair done while it was still under the 1 year warranty, but by the time it was 18 months old, it began leaking refrigerant. I was told by the technician that the cost to repair it would be more than the value of the refrigerator, and the chances of the repair lasting more than 6 months were minimal. I had to buy a brand new refrigerator (not a whirlpool this time). I contacted Whirlpool customer service but they were non-sympathetic. Do Not Buy Whirlpool Products - Poor quality and high prices.

I paid $1246 for a Whirlpool glass top range. This was not a cheap model, but I wanted it as the starting point of my new kitchen. After only about a year, we noticed that the area surrounding the operation controls was turning a funny color. On closer inspection, we noticed what appeared to be something peeling off, it was paint! The area surrounding the controls, which appeared to be brushed metal, was actually painted plastic! I was furious that an appliance at this cost level was made of plastic....really, a stove top made of painted plastic? I complained and after a huge fuss they agreed to come out and replace it ONCE. Well its been just over a year since they replaced it, and guess what? It is peeling off again!I dont know what to do, as Whirlpool obviously has gone the cheap end and doesnt want to fix problems. As others have mentioned, they say that it is JUST cosmetic, and they wont cover it under warranty...now my first new appliance for my first new kitchen since 1972 looks like crap! I should have kept my old avocado green appliances - they lasted over 40 years, still worked, and still looked good (except they were green). I wont ever buy another Whirlpool appliance. For those who mentioned that their appliance would turn on unexpectedly, please check recalls....this is one of the major problems on recall. Buyer beware!!!!

Model WTW7600XOW, installed 12/9/2010. For about 4 months this washer has sounded like a jet plane when spinning. I called Whirlpool to see if it was recalled or what they recommended. They provided 2 repair places near me. The repair shops recommended buying a new washer since the repair is so costly. A 4 year old washer used by 2 people should have bearings that last more than 4 years.

ECO friendly top load Whirlpool washing machine - I bought this machine September 2013. Now it has a continuous clicking sound. It appears to be the lid locking mechanism and the washing machine will not turn on. It is under warranty and I am finding it hard to get a repair service in my area that is directed to Whirlpool to come and fix it. The only appliance repair in our area states that they will charge for trip and service if they find that is not a defect within the Whirlpool perimeters. I could be charged up to $200 for trip and service which is half of what I paid for. Whirlpool states this is not the case, and I am now having to wait a week to even set up yet another appointment. I have other machines that lasted 7-10 years until they wore out. I am frustrated and what could be a simple fix has turned into a financial nightmare.

FRUSTRATION!!! It is unbelievable that even appliances have become DISPOSABLE! Where are the days of when our parents bought well made appliances that LASTED 20 years with NO problems??? There was satisfaction knowing that a purchase of an appliance was $$ well spent! These days it costs MORE to replace parts than IF you purchased a brand new machine! We purchased BRAND NEW Whirlpool Duet Sport Washer AND dryer in 2007. The washer has been repaired a total of 5 times and the dryer 3 times!!! IN A SPAN OF 10 YEARS! Are you serious?! With the $$ spent on warranties/ labor/ parts: WE could have purchased new appliances. What is WRONG with this picture? IT IS ALL about making money on REPLACING PARTS/WARRANTIES/LABOR!!! Forget the consumer that is spending THEIR hard earned money to buy the appliances initially. Short of going to a laundromat, the consumer needs to purchase a washer & dryer. So I guess it is a vicious cycle of REPAIRS/REPAIRS AND MORE REPAIRS!!!

I purchased a Whirlpool electric water heater from Lowe’s in 2007. It lasted 2 years until a faulty weld on the tank started leaking and flooded my basement. Whirlpool did replace it. However, my second water heater did the same exact thing in a different location on the tank after 2 1/2 years. It also flooded my basement.I am now on my third Whirlpool water heater in 5 years and the one I have now has a bad thermistor. It has cost me about $225 each time the water heater has been replaced. In my opinion, these Whirlpool water heaters are junk and their quality control needs to get out of the break room and start doing their job. Never will I purchase another Whirlpool appliance.

We purchased Whirlpool Cabrio Washer Model #WTW7300DW0 and Dryer in 2013 from Home Depot. The washer is the worst appliance we ever owned. It makes a horrific metal rubbing noise during agitation. The Whirlpool assigned repair service provider, after 2 trips and $300 has been unsuccessful in repairing the problem. Even after he called Whirlpool direct for assistance. Given that we used a Home Depot Gift Card for purchase, the repair expense is rapidly diminishing any benefit to keeping the machine. Well not even consider purchasing Whirlpool again.

We bought all whirlpool appliances at our new home 4 months back. Our refrigerator has stopped working from the last month. We had 7 different service team people come in to check and they temporary resolve the issue (taking out a plastic piece from the top of the refrigerator, just re fixing the ice machine, or just walking out of our home doing nothing).Friday someone came and tried fixing it and took about 3 hours. The fridge completely Broke down after that in about 6 hours. Whirlpool customer care wants to send another technician in and want them to have them talk to their technician and maybe after that they can do something. This is the 8th time some technician will be coming home. And clearing these technicians curse whirlpool and dont call them. The customer team at whirlpool suck, there is no damn replacement or repair policy. All scheduling is after a week and whirlpool does not give a **. I really hope this company is sued for the emotional and mental stress and the harassment they cause to their customers. Very frustrated. Have no idea what to do.
