Recently bought a 19-cubic ft French Door Whirlpool refrigerator. Seems to work fine at this point, but the compressor/cooling system has a fairly loud swishing noise it makes off and on during the cooling cycle. According to the owners manual, this is normal. If I had known this, I would not have bought this brand. Believe me, it is loud and you can hear it from all parts of my apartment. Also, once you examine the fridge up close, it really is cheaply made. Low-grade plastics for shelves and compartments. And this was not an inexpensive product to buy. We are talking out the door paying $2,000. Sad it is American made. My parents bought a Samsung last year and it is of much higher quality than the Whirlpool I have. But so far, it is keeping the food cold. Just wish it was quiet.

My Whirlpool Microwave was installed in my new home by the builder. As write this, my microwave is 1 year 2 months old. Just out of warranty. On this day first the turntable wouldnt stop turning with the door open or closed. One hour after this event, the interior light would not turn off. On half hour after this event...the microwave died.

We have a Whirlpool with freezer on top, nothing fancy in the apartment we rent. Twice the lines have clogged up with ice, causing the water to pool in the bottom of the fridge and then leak onto the floor. The maintenance man said this was a common problem in the complex with the refrigerators. Tonight, I heard noise coming out of the fridge. It was so loud it scared the cat. I went to check on it and a juice bottle had exploded in the fridge. It cannot keep an appropriate temperature. Things up front are barely cool and things at the back freeze. We are moving and unfortunately, the house we are buying has Whirlpool as well. When it comes time to replacing the refrigerator, it will not be a Whirlpool!

I bought a new Whirlpool refrigerator from Sears and within a month the refrigerator side did not maintain temperature where milk would not spoil... Cool but never cold. I called Sears and they said its Whirlpool warranty to contact them. This I did and about a week later they contacted a local service company they use to maintain their equipment... Long story short this will be the 4th time they were informed the refrigerator still doesnt maintain temperature... Food had to be thrown out because of that.I asked them to refund me my cost or at minimum get a working refrigerator to me because after 4 attempts at trying to fix the problem it still exists... They just want to keep sending a repairman out there who still cant figure out the problem and that has cost me much time away from work not the mention the spoiled food costs... Even when complaining my dilemma to the repairman he said, All they will do is keep calling us and kick the can down the road... They could care less about what it has cost me in time and money... I had to give 1 star to this company but they dont deserve even that one... Dont waste you time thinking a warranty by them is worth a flip and now over 3 months Im without a refrigerator...

I bought a fridge from this company not even 14 months ago. Went away for a week and came home to a fridge and freezer of rotten food. The fridge had died - Im guessing not long after I had gone away by the look and smell of the food and house. I have had nothing but the run around ever since that day. Spoke to this person and then that person. The electrician confirmed that my fridge is completely dead because of the compressor. So they sent a report to Whirlpool and they have now confirmed that I will get a new fridge. Now Im being told that will take 7-14 days. So I have been left with no food whatsoever as well as no fridge. I have two kids and cant even buy shopping for my son to take to school. And now Im being told that I had 9 months left on the warranty for the fridge that died and that’s all I will get on a new fridge. Should I not receive a new warranty for a new fridge? And should they replace my food? Could really do with some feedback on this matter. Please help me.

Whirlpool Duet $1300, in the past we had great service from other Whirlpool products. Just a more modern look and knowing it was a company we had used in the past with very little or no problems so we expected the same only with energy and water savings. We are energy aware and believe in conserving energy and water where we can. My wife wanted to stick with the brand that gave us good service in the past and chose one of their most conservative units on the market (I believe it was based mainly on looks). What burns me the most about this unit is its constant consumption of clothing, the repair guy found nothing askew with the unit and suggested smaller loads. So we reduced the load size smaller and smaller till we were washing each outfit separately and guess what, it still ate clothes, just chews them up.We lose about a hundred dollars a month in clothing. This washer tears holes and shreds clothing on almost every load, I have to put shirts and lighter clothes to the back of the washer then load the heavier blue jeans and such toward the front and hope they finish in the same position or something is ruined. The fabric becomes distressed, stretched, shredded or has holes, or any combination of the above. We have taken to going to a laundromat or sending clothes to the cleaners. These units are three years old and we are now looking for a replacement for the washer because the local service guy won’t even come out any more. This problem surfaced within a week of the first use of the machine and has remained steady, as we are retired and travel a lot we are not always using them so they are what I would term very lightly used.

I hope this review makes it to the president of Whirlpool! My husband and I built our first home and finally moved into it on April 22, 2017. We saved everywhere we could and I did my best to research my appliances. I was so excited to buy a BIG refrigerator for our family of five, (3 are hungry teenagers!) after years of using a smaller side-by-side. We went with the 31.5-cu ft French door/drawer with dual icemakers, model #WRF993FIFM. The original price was $3,599 but we got it on sale for $2,298 at Home Depot. After only 5 months it stopped cooling! I woke up one morning to find a fridge full of spoiled food!! After waiting 3 weeks I had 2 different repairmen come out and have been told that it is un-repairable due to two parts that are needed, one of which is on back order indefinitely. Ive called Whirlpool numerous times and only get the run around and Im sorry mam we cant do anything else. So Im just supposed to be without my refrigerator until who knows when?! The first 2 weeks of this crap we had to live out of Igloo coolers on our back porch. That meant no buying real groceries, only milk and juice and drinks. Thankfully the awesome people at Home Depot brought us a loaner, which is an apartment size fridge, to use while we wait. So now I just have to walk across the house to my garage every time I need something, and I cant buy much food because it wont fit!! Im so disgusted with how Whirlpool is handling this!!! Not only did we buy our fridge but we also went with Whirlpool for our stove, dishwasher and microwave, and we already owned a newer Whirlpool washer and dryer set. We spent thousands of dollars and cant even get them to exchange this piece of junk! Come on Whirlpool, surely you dont treat all your customers this way!? Do the right thing and let us have a replacement!!!

Sometimes, even though it might be an off brand, might turn out to be the option. Think outside your norm, listen to employee, other consumers. Just because its on sale doesnt mean it actually does its job.

Whirlpool Cabrio Washer WTW7340XW sounds like a small jet during spin cycle
Whirlpool Cabrio Washer WTW7340XW sounds like a small jet during spin cycle. The Whirlpool Cabrio Washers have a very well known and well documented problem with the tub bearings failing. Many many disgruntled owners have posted their complaints online, and there are many videos showing the issue on youtube. This issue is so prevalent that the manufacturer has created a tub bearing failure repair kit for $350. The repair is so expensive and labor intensive that many of the certified Whirlpool repair shops no longer work on the Cabrio washer stating that a better washer can be purchased for the cost of this repair. That said, the manufacturers customer service group denies that the Cabrio tub bearing failures is a common problem and are quick to state that Whirlpool holds no liability for this problem. Ramping the complaint up to a customer service supervisor is met with the same canned response. Regardless of the thousands of complaints Whirlpool is claiming that it is normal wear and tear for the tub bearings to fail. The manufacturer should recall the units for this manufacturing defect in the Cabrio design.

I purchased 5 Whirlpool appliances when I remodelled my kitchen and am extremely disappointed with the quality and ability of them. The self-cleaning range (this phrase is a joke) has proven to be useless. I followed the cleaning direction according to the manufacturers direction even using the distilled water as indicated. The AquaLift self-clean did not clean the oven at all. It looks like I never turned the self-clean on. I gave up a great working GE self-cleaning oven that actually did clean itself. If I could afford to change this product for another brand I would do it in a heartbeat.

I would like someone to explain to me why the control panel I.e. brains of the dishwasher which is around water is so sensitive to WATER. My daughter is the owner of the house and purchased this dishwasher last summer (2016) and within weeks we were having issue with the sensors. This supposedly was not covered under warranty (it was a WATER ISSUE). So now a dishwasher which cost over 700.00 is a door stop!! Where is people’s common sense... yes Im over 60 years old and very frustrated with the money that was spent for such an inferior product. Imagine having a dishwasher sensitive to water. The people who made it should give their heads a shake. Frustrated grandmother.

I purchased my Cabrio washer and dryer 2 1/2 years ago, and for the past 6 months, I have dealt with it being unbalanced and I tried everything to get it balanced. When I researched the problems, I found so many other consumers are having the same problems and that Whirlpool will do nothing about it. I decided to start a petition on Change website to try to force Whirlpool to stand behind their product and correct the problem, offer us a refund or another product, or even fix the darn thing. It is tough economic times, and we spent money to have something that was energy-efficient as well as a product that is supposed to carry a good name. I am a single mother with three children, and I dont have a $1000.00 to throw away after 2 years. This is shameful that we, the consumers, have to deal with this. Please go to the Change website and sign my petition. The more signatures I get, the more leverage we have to deal with Whirlpool. Lets pull together and show Whirlpool we will not stand for them robbing us of a quality product. Thank you so very much.

We have the same complaints about the washer as other reviewers -- have to use deep water wash to get enough water in the tub to clean and rinse soap from clothes and we have to keep the loads small. Dryer thermostat had to be replaced right off the bat. Now on medium heat it just burned patterns into two light-weight polyester fleece items -- the clothes came out with the heat input screen pattern burned into them. Now I wonder if they stuck to the heating screen for any length of time, was it a fire hazard? The burned parts of the items are now stuck to the drum so that needs cleaning. So well be using low heat on most everything and drying them twice, since low heat leaves them pretty wet after 35 minutes. So much for buying energy saving appliances which, by the way, we were proud to buy! But, prior to buying these appliances, we had washer and dryers that last 20 years. Built in obsolescence with these new things? I have no faith in the consumer complaint process anymore. The retailer may care as they are a bit closer to the problem, but the manufacturer? Forget it. Vote with your wallet and dont buy these products.

WRX735SDBM02 - I purchase this new WP refrigerator on 7/9/16 from Home Depot. It has been repaired twice already and now the front control panel is chipping and peeling away. Whirlpool says this is cosmetic. I maintain that quality construction and material do NOT simply disintegrate spontaneously. I want the control panel fixed under warranty for manufacturing defects. This NEW refrigerator cannot stay in my home looking like this, it is unacceptable to me. Their customer service refuses to do anything. This was somewhat hard to photograph due to the reflection issue.

I bought a whirlpool microwave on August 8th. The microwave was missing parts. I called whirlpool. They said they were sending me the parts, mind you this was not a floor model. So 2 weeks later pass I received no bracket No screws. I called whirlpool oh yes we got the address wrong. Resent it, just one screw no bracket and I needed 2 screws. I called again oh yes we did get the order for the bracket too but you have to pay $7. I said ok no problem. Can you do fast shipping? They said sure. I called Monday August 25th. They said I should receive it by Wednesday August 27th. I had to pay extra for the shipping. Here I am September 2nd w/ no bracket. Called again. They said it wasnt next day shipping, it was 2 day shipping and its at the post office. But the shipping number they gave me was for the one screw. I believe I should get my money back. I spoke to a supervisor, took her number down. Still waiting for a call because the mailman came and I didnt receive anything yet again.

I purchased our brand new double ovens on 9/27/11. I was happy until 11/3/11 when the inside glass exploded, shooting shards of it all over our kitchen during the self-cleaning cycle. I immediately called Kitchen Aides corporate office in Michigan. She said that she could send a technician out to access the damages but didnt see that this was a product issue. Like I dont know how to properly push buttons to self clean! The technician came out the next day and said that he was only authorized to replace the glass, nothing else. He couldnt tell me why it shattered, he thought perhaps there was a bubble in the glass during manufacturing. I said I think it needs a whole new door at the very least, but more likely a new unit. I just paid $3000 for what will be a refurbished oven after one month of use. Today, I called once again to tell them that I am not satisfied with new glass, not to mention my oven is unusable in its current state and still has glass sipping out. I spoke to a woman in their safety committee department, who told me that Whirlpools warranty is replacement of broken parts, nothing more, and since only one pane of glass broke and not the door physically, they couldnt authorize a new door or new oven. Mind you, that we still dont know why it broke, was it just faulty glass or could it be a heating problem? She didnt care, only that they could only repair the glass. I asked if the glass could be overnighted since I have been without an oven for four days now. She said that she had no way of doing that, so I asked if I could speak to the parts department and she said I could not, that only techs could contact them. I asked if she could do anything for me? Could she assure me that it would be fixed within the week? No. Could she assure me that it would be fixed by Thanksgiving? No. Whirlpools policy clearly is that once you purchase their products, they have no intentions of listening to their customers complaints or concerns only to do the very minimum required.

I purchased a Whirlpool Microwave on 9/21/10 from Hamilton-Bryan in Wichita Falls, Texas. I had a small fire in my microwave on 9/19/11, due to a faulty mica board. This was replaced by Mr. Bobs in Wichita Falls, TX, under the warranty. Then on 1/9/12, the microwave would not warm anything. I called Mr. Bobs again, and they said the transformer was out. I called Whirlpool, and was told by Yvonne that Whirlpool would replace the part only, with no labor, but Mr. Bobs was closed, and to call back in the morning, so this authorization could be set up with Mr. Bobs. I called back and there was no record of my call with Yvonne. I talked to a supervisor Rachel in Tennessee. She put me on hold for a while and finally said she found Yvonnes note to authorize the part. I explained to each person I talked to that I was dissatisfied with Whirlpool. I believe I have a defective microwave. I would like my money back, or a new microwave. I believe the defective mica board is related to the defective transformer. I am a very dissatisfied customer. I have used Whirlpool most of my adult life. I have used them since the 1970s. I currently have a Whirlpool refrigerator, washer, and dryer. A similar situation like this occurred when I bought a Samsung washer. I was dissatisfied, and Samsung refunded my money, and I bought a Whirlpool washer to replace Samsung. I will not be satisfied with this situation, until the microwave is replaced. Thank you for your concern and attention to this matter.

It was newer and I thought it was a good selling point and would last many years. The original owner had purchased the heater in March of 2011. Three months after I moved in, the control valve went bad - 4 flash eco lockout. I called Whirlpool. They sent out the replacement part. I had to pay for shipping express delivery. Since then the control valve has gone out 2 more times, a total of 3 times in one year. On the third time, they gave me a return number for a replacement. I dont even want this heater for free. Purchased this oven on 9/12 from Sears, did not purchase an extended warranty and didnt think it was necessary. Im a 64 year old widow and only use the oven on holidays, to date Ive used the over 5 times. With Easter coming, I decided to clean the oven. Followed the instructions, the door locked and the oven died. Im totally disappointed, now it would cost over 100.00 to repair, money I cannot afford. Called Sears and all I was told over and over again that they can send a repaid person and I would have to pay. I was also told that I should have purchased a Kenmore and I wouldnt have had a problem and finally I was told that they couldnt fix it and referred me to whirlpool customer service, who also told me it would cost over 100.00. A 19 month oven should not have died. It should have cleaned the oven and continue to work for many more years. Again, Im upset, angry and disappointed with sears & whirlpool. And dont know what to do. Does anyone else have this problem with the oven, is there a recall?

Not the glass, just the plastic. They actually started breaking the first year. I have literally had to tape my shelves together. These are very expensive and yet they are very low quality and of course are not covered on the warranty. The plastic is not built to withstand the cold and/or weight of food products. They need to get rid of the plastic and replace it with metal. I dont want to replace them with the same low grade products. I own the model ED5JHEXTB00 serial # HRU4010107. Also, the ice maker has been replaced twice. What has happened to Whirlpool

We purchased this washer and dryer new in 2011. Have repaired door to washer twice. New doors total cost $500.00 each time. Now it is cracked yet again and the dryer door has to be adjusted. The temp does not work right. Have to do minimum of 2 cycles for drying. Very unhappy. We may as well buy a new set of another make. Tired of the expensive repairs.

My husband and I purchased a Gold Series, French Door refrigerator/freezer
My husband and I purchased a Gold Series, French Door refrigerator/freezer in 2012. Everything was fine until our icemaker took a dump a few weeks ago. It had to be replaced. Taking time off from work to meet the repairman with that repair was an inconvenience but it was only magnified when we were told he would call us an hour before the repair, which never happened. We were given the usual 4 to 5 hour window in which we could expect a service call, which is the standard these days. But I had to rush home when he called because we never got that courtesy call an hour before. The repair, as frustrating as the situation was, was made and we thought that would be end of that for a while.Things were fine until today when I discovered puddles of water on our wood floor as I was leaving for work. While mopping things up with a paper towel and trying to determine what the problem was, I discovered a frozen puddle of ice on the floor of the freezer when I pulled it out. This situation, obviously, was more urgent than the last one we had a few weeks prior so we were hoping for a bit more than the Well have someone come out on the 20th response I was given. It was only after jumping through hoops like a trained monkey at the circus and raising my voice a few times out of frustration, did we get a call from the actual repairman who said he would be out within a couple of hours.By his own admission, the small rubber seal the repairman replaced somewhere in the refrigerator, was known by the manufacturer to be an inferior part. He told us they are well aware of the problems caused by this inferior seal and that they eventually need to be replaced with one that is of better quality. Apparently, its cheaper for them to use the inferior one, and they choose to disregard the inconvenience, not to mention the potential damage that could be caused to a persons home because of it.We have a great many concerns on a great many levels surrounding this product and the way we were treated as paying, extended warranty consumers. This refrigerator was a major purchase for us. We placed our confidence in a company and a product we thought we could trust; not to mention making the assumption that if we paid good money for an extended warranty, a problem like this most recent one would meet with more of an eager attempt at getting us the help we needed without having to become as insistent and frustrated as we were forced to be.How disappointing to discover that spending over $2,000 on a major purchase like this and then being told we would have to wait 3 to 5 days for a repair. Having to take time off from work, or being told to wait for up to 5 days for any sort of help to replace a small rubber seal, known to be of inferior quality, that was replaced in 10 minutes is absurd. Think twice before spending hard-earned money on this product!! The tragic lesson, however, in all of this is the verbal confirmation by the repairman that just about all manufacturers are the same when it comes to corporations trying to save $$$ and blowing off the inconvenience and expense of their customers.

In addition to that I find the HE rating a joke as it takes 2+ hours to run a load of whites despite it saying on the read out that it will be 1 hour and 4 minutes, it literally tears up my clothes. I have now gone through 3 sets of sheets, 4 towels, 5 baby onesies... How can a washer that doesnt have an agitator cause holes and shredding in a garment? I honestly dont know what to do anymore. It takes two days to do the wash for 2 people when I could get it done in hours with my old machine. And to think I spent close to $900 on this washer makes me sick! I want to go back to my old agitator type washer from Maytag!

My wife and I purchased a new Whirlpool Cabrio Washer / Dryer set approximately three years ago and have had nothing but problem after problem with these units. Weve had multiple service calls, multiple parts replaced, and after dumping hundreds of dollars into repairs and service calls (even called Whirlpool and asked for some help with parts cost but was given the cold shoulder and was told, We cant help you), we are dumping these machines where they belong - scrap heap. I will never purchase another Whirlpool product and will tell anyone who will listen what garbage Whirlpool manufacturers are and absolutely pathetic excuse for customer service and the poorest of quality product. Whirlpool will never be in my familys home again and will never see another cent of my monies.

We purchased this microwave from Lowes. It already had a cracked handle but I wanted to change my appliances to Stainless and it was very cheap. I could just order a new handle and we would still be saving money. I received the new handle and it was very difficult to install, but I did it. Not even 2 months later, the same thing happened to this handle. We thought Lowes had somehow broken the original handle, but after reading all the other complaints, I realized that its a manufacturer problem. Last night, I was cooking on the stove and the plastic from the handle fell into the pot. I had to throw the whole pot of very expensive, and time consuming meal away for fear of eating the plastic.

As a consumer, Im very disappointed in this Whirlpool Cabrio Platinum washer. It does NOT clean your clothes. Many times Im washing my clothes twice, only loading a 1/3 of a load of laundry in it because of this problem. No matter what you do, it just doesnt clean your clothes. Has anyone considered putting a law-suit against the company. They will NOT stand behind this issue, NOR replace your washer with something that works. Maybe that is what it will take. DO NOT ever ever ever ever ever ever buy this piece of crap washing machine. You will waste your money, your time, your extra detergent it takes to wash your clothes AND the cost of the machine too! The MILDEW SMELL is horrible and no matter what you do you CANT GET IT OUT! Ive tried it all. Im just angry because I had to save money to purchase this set and it is a piece of crap! The customer service is just a runaround, they wont help you! They will just give excuse after excuse. They need to replace EVERY ONE of our washers with something that works!!! For the cost of this machine alone, they should do something to resolve this issue!

I bought my glass top stainless electric Whirlpool range in April of 2019. It worked great until December 2019. Four days before Christmas my daughter was home alone and using the oven to heat up dinner. She smelled a terrible smell and there was a ton of electrical blue smoke. She called me at work and I told her to turn it off. My husband came home as I was talking to her and pulled out the stove. The place where the stove meets to cord had burst into flames. The wires in the cord were so badly damaged they were all exposed and singed. Our house could have caught fire! The whirlpool company will not stand by their product. They blamed it on the team at Lowe’s who installed the range...Lowe’s has been nothing but confusing and frustrating to deal with! I can’t believe how we’ve been treated. Do not buy whirlpool! These stoves are dangerous!

They recommended from cleaning the machine, using less detergent, minimizing the load, using extra rinse, deep water and still the clothes come out with the residue. And it takes way too long to wash a batch of clothes. This is a known problem with this model. Repair company recommended a replacement and Whirlpool insists that it is a usage problem. Purchased this washer in 2009 from Lowes, believing the hype that it was efficient. Since we only needed a Washer at the time, we overpaid (it is more cost effective when you buy both washer and dryer). So we paid $1000.00 for this machine (we purchased the stand as well). After the 1st year, there seemed to be a significant decrease in how fast the washer spun, as the clothes were coming out wetter. I didnt pay much attention, but 2 years later, the machine has a weird problem where it couldnt complete the cycle, and by this time, every time it Spun, the noise was louder and louder.I contact Whirlpool, placed a service call and the Technician came out. $225.00 later, there was a hose that was pinched that was sending a wrong signal to the washer. He fixed that and told me I should get a contract on the machine through Whirlpool since I seemed to be having problems. I purchased the contract, for $300.00, and 2 1/2 weeks later placed another service call, as the noise from the machine was happening every time I did laundry. The service guy came out, indicated that it seemed to be the Agitator, and that he would need to order parts, and that they had a SPECIALIST who only does this type of repair, since they have many! He also indicated that the hose may have crimped due to the movement of the entire agitator!Well, after not hearing from ANYONE for 2 weeks, I called the repair company who told me WHIRLPOOL was supposed to call and let me know that they would NOT fix the machine, as the parts cost more than the Washer, which is now valued at $500.00! No one from WHIRLPOOL EVER CALLED, and I cant understand how a $1000.00 Washing machine touted to be so efficient and environmentally friendly has been THROWN OUT after 3 years!!! And now I am out the $225.00 repair, have no washing machine, $1000.00 down the drain (and I forgot to mention a year later we bought the matching WHIRLPOOL DRYER and OVERPAID) and now have to purchase another machine, which I assure you WONT BE WHIRLPOOL! As most of us have experienced, WASHING MACHINES last for many years! The washer I had before this was over 20 years!!!! So much for efficient and environmentally friendly... The only thing GREEN about this machine is how much of my $$$ has gone to Whirlpool!

I called Whirlpool up and they sent their serviceman out twice and they didnt do much but reprogram it and both times it didnt do one full cycle. Now they (Whirlpool) are going to put a new control board in and hope it works. Whirlpool wants me to get another years warranty on the machine & charge me $100 and not do anything about all the money I spent going to the laundromat (2 months worth) while this machine was not working. Whirlpool WRT351SFYW 21.1 Cu. Ft. White Top Freezer Refrigerator - Energy... puts out a very irritating high pitch noise, unlike my previous Whirlpool fridge. The old one was perfectly quiet. I believe Whirlpool is going downhill in every way. WP is buying refrigerators from 3rd world countries and slapping the name on them. The delivery people were very rude with me when I was unable to give them a tip, even though I had to supply my truck to shuttle the fridge up to my house and help them unload it. I also had to go and find them when they would not follow my directions to my house. So, they kept the wrench I loaned them; they did not have their own tools for the installation. And they refused to return it when I asked them to do so. Denvers Customer Service refused to respond in any way to my requests for information or complaints about the noise and delivery. Finally, their head office contacted me a month or two later, and the customer service person had initiated the discussion in argumentative attitude despite my saying I did not care anymore, I gave up on them and dont expect anything from Whirlpool anymore. While she told me that there are standard levels of acceptable noise that come from their refrigerator, while, she refused to acknowledge that they are not my standards, and I am the customer, besides, I had an older Whirlpool fridge that did not make any noise. I am sorry trusted WP, when I tried to upgrade the old fridge - it was an expensive downgrade! Buy LG or Amana - wished I did!

Ill never buy Whirlpool appliances again. I purchased all new kitchen appliances less than 3 years ago. The range had electrical issues within the first year, which was extremely scary. Thankfully because of the warranty they took it back, reimbursed me for it and I replaced it with a GE. I absolutely love the GE. The dish in the microwave never stays on its track in the center. Its quite an inconvenience to fix it almost daily. The top rack in the dishwasher constantly breaks, drops down on one side. Random parts from inside the dishwasher constantly come loose and fall off. But the worst of all....my refrigerator has broken down twice in 6 months from the same issue due to no fault of my own. To give some credit, Whirlpool fixed it out of warranty the first time. However the same issue happened 6 months later and they are expecting me to pay for it. The repair company contracted with Whirlpool covers their parts under warranty, however different parts need to be ordered. I had to pay for these parts, a service call and labor. Whirlpool came out with a service pointer on this because they know its a manufacturing defect but are refusing to cover the cost. The representative I spoke to was nasty and inconsiderate but sadly the manager was even worse. DONT buy Whirlpool!!! I recommend GE, youll be much happier. Worst customer service and support.

On July 19, I was forced to buy a new washer. Bought a Frigidaire which, when connected to the water supply, started immediately dumping water into the drum. Sent this defective washer back to the retailer and chose a new Whirlpool. O-M-I-G-O-S-H! It was delivered on 25 July and despite having 4 temperature settings, it only worked on either hot or cold AND you could never tell what temperature was going to be chosen by this computerized wonder. I repeatedly called Customer Support and received three different answers on what temperature was considered warm. The answers ranged from 65 to 102 degrees. Also, you could open the lid when the water was running in, which washers are no longer supposed to do. Whirlpool then arranged for A & D Service to come and repair my NEW washer and scheduled an appointment for a week later. I was forced to call that company to find out if they were even coming. When they did not show as promised, I cancelled the appointment and called Whirlpool to ask for another service company. They then scheduled me for two weeks later (now August 30th). The guy did come and told me there was user error - I had used too much soap as this was an HE washer. I asked him to show me where on the appliance and in the owners manual that it stated the washer was an HE. He couldnt find it either and said he would replace the computer and the door lock because his computer found that the washer was hit and miss on anything it was set on. At any rate, it is a little over a week later and I have heard nothing from the repairman and, of course, no follow-up from Whirlpool. Do not make the mistake of buying any Whirlpool product, and that now encompasses names such as Maytag, Amana, Jenn-Air, Kitchen-Aid and many more if you want to be assured of a quality product and excellent customer service. What if this had been a refrigerator? The whole debacle has been a nightmare. Wish I had bought a GE!

Wish we had gone online to check all the complaints otherwise we would have NEVER bought a Whirlpool model #EB9FVHLVS. Only 3 years old. First repair call to fix a manufacturers faulty grommet manifested by leaking in the bottom freezer portion. Just outside the warranty - did not purchase extended. Now I know why retailers recommend the extended. My sister overheard the repairman call in the product to his contact at Platinum Appliance Service Inc., and he made direct reference to the model number in the category of Whirlpool products known to have this specific design flaw, and that the product was never recalled but customers were directed to purchase a repair kit to fix the problem. Apparently this became a very well documented and repeated incident within the 1-2 year purchase date of these products and models with the known factory installed defect were still sent out to retailers at a reduced cost with no reference, warning or attention to the factory defect. Now 4 months after the first call we have to call in for another repair issue because our light in both compartments and the motor shuts off for hours at a time. We lost about $80 in meat products, so now were afraid to keep any costly items in the freezer because we cant afford to replace a $100 of thawed products every week on top of groceries already bought!!! It seems as though Whirlpool is gleefully generating business for appliance repair while making more than one hole in the consumers wallet.

When I asked why no one had called me to let me know, especially considering the amount of time I have been waiting - she said she didnt know. One week later, I call AGAIN to find out why my credit card does not show the payment. Only this time to talk to a fellow who says my part is still on backorder, and they used my card # to put a $1.00 charge against it - to hold it for when my part arrives.. We have a large Whirlpool plant in my hometown, and I hate to see the lack of resolve by Whirlpool.

Two Whirlpool washers in six years that the barren in back of tub goes out. When the first one went out in the same month the warranty expired, I was told by a repair man that it was not worth repairing because of the cost. I purchased a brand new Whirlpool and only months later, the same parts are broken on this new front loader. How cheap is the Whirlpool app. made? Whirlpool wants to only send me a tech. to fix washer instead of replacing unit altogether. After all, the unit is only a few months old. I cannot believe I have to deal with this again.

I bought a Whirlpool 3.4 Cu Ft. Top Load Washer, Model: WTW4800XQ on Sunday. Today is Tuesday morning, but the machine broke last night. It lasted for about 5 loads and they were not big loads, unbalanced, and yes I had the right amount of soap. Whirlpool is saying that I washed something that was not machine washable. However, that is simply not true. I washed the bathroom rugs (which have been washed many times before) and they are saying the pump is clogged. If I had a washing machine 48 hours ago, do I really have to pay a service repairman to fix it? I will never buy any Whirlpool product again.

Model CAE2745FQ0, Serial #C72680766 - Purchased this coin op clothes washer 2/2/2018 at Brandsmart, Deerfield Beach FL. Would not empty or spin correctly; 1st service call 2/28/2018. (Less than 30 days from purchase date). 3/21/2018 called Whirlpool again as same problem continues (as listed above). Washer is not being overloaded. Whirlpool repair visit scheduled again for 3/23/2018. This is the 2nd repair time since we purchased the washer on 2/28/2018. Purchased the same model 2 years ago, and experienced repeated problems to the point where we got rid of that machine and purchased the most current model referenced here. We are looking for a full refund of the purchase price as it appears that this recently purchased machine is on its way to be a repeat performance of the 1st machine that we got rid of (that was purchased 2 years ago). Again, we want the full purchase price refunded, which is $900.88. This machine is not even 2 months old. Thank you.

My washer is at least 15 years old. When we bought it we had two school aged children at home. It still cleans our laundry very well and we are getting our moneys worth from this washer.

We purchased 6 six appliances for our home just over one year ago. The initial problem with the washing machine literally took ten home visit to resolve with the final solution being total replacement. Far too many days away from work. The laundry appliances have a loud beeping noise that goes off with the slightest contact, annoying and designed to be eliminated or muted. Today we discovered that the water filter in the fridge is single sourced at over $50 with shipping, which seems usurious at best. Will look elsewhere for the next house/purchase and NEVER buy from this company, including their other brands...Kitchenaid, Maytag, etc.

Long story short, we replaced a very old Whirlpool water heater with a new one a couple of years ago... We have had nothing but trouble. First, pilot light wouldnt stay lit. Found out that it was defective.... Whirlpool DID offer a no cost conversion kit. Had to pay shipping and installation costs. Have had the plumber out four more times to try to ANYTHING to keep it lit.... No luck. He even spoke to a Whirlpool tech on the phone and followed his advice. I have filed an online complaint with Whirlpool and the site stated that I would hear back within three working days. Guess what.... no reply. I have four other Whirlpool appliances that I love, BUT as they wear out, I will NOT consider Whirlpool.

I replaced our old 50-gal water heater (10 years old) with a new top-of-the-line Whirlpool 50-gal water heater in Feb 2011. The Friday before Memorial Day, the heater went out and the pilot refused to stay lit. I called and jumped through all their hoops and finally figured out that it was the gas valve, because the pilot goes out as soon as you release the button and the milli-voltage reading is ok. They sent me a replacement and it cost $145 to have a plumber come out and install it. We were without hot water for 5 days. Now 9 days later, the pilot keeps going out. This time I can re-light it, but after the water heats up, it is apparently going out again. They refuse to replace a 12-year warrantied water heater that is only 2 years old and I am going to have to hire a plumber again to come out and attest to what we already know. This water heater is extremely loud. When we had it installed, I read the reviews and there were similar complaints (sounds like a mini jet engine). We dont seem to get as much hot water as we did with our old builders grade heater. This is a bad buy and I would advise anyone looking to purchase to look elsewhere.

Home is new construction. Moved into our home in May 2015. All appliances are Whirlpool. The Microwave (model WMH32519CS-1) stopped heating in September 2015, service tech replaced the tube and capacitor. Microwave stopped heating again on Nov 16, 2015. Service tech notified again. Each time it takes 3+ days to get the service tech to look at the oven. This will be the 3rd Magnetron Tube in 6 months. This should not be happening. Contacted Whirlpool direct, asked if we could get the entire oven replaced with a new one. I was informed that this was not a company policy. It was a real waste of time talking to customer service. They are clueless and could care less about what is happening with our oven. I have had microwave ovens for years and have never had this kind of issue. Whirlpool has a real problem here.

I purchased a Whirlpool electric range 18 months ago. Recently, the oven started overheating. The display reads Fault detected. Press start to clear. Pressing start did nothing and the oven door was locked as though it was in the self-clean cycle. We had to trip the circuit breaker to turn the oven off and allow the door to open. The food inside was ruined. After three episodes in one week, I scheduled a service call through the Whirlpool website. When the repairman came, he determined the electronic circuit board was faulty. His suggestion was that I buy a new stove since the repair would cost $425 (the part itself was $280). Not wanting to replace a stove that wasnt 2 years old, I went ahead with the repair. I called Whirlpool to lodge a complaint and although the customer service rep was polite, he basically told me that all electronic appliances fail sooner or later and the company will not stand behind this appliance because its out of its 12-month warranty and I didnt buy the extended warranty. He also told me the company doesnt have any record of this being a common problem or excessive complaints about these ranges. But I see many people on this site with the same problem. I wish I had read this site before I bought this stove. Since I cant afford to replace my appliances every year and a half, this will certainly be my last Whirlpool.

I purchased Whirlpool top loading washing machine model # WTW57ESVW less than 2 years ago. It stopped working yesterday. I had a trusted professional repairman evaluate it today. The motor needs to be replaced after less than 2 years?! The customer service reps basically said sorry. I should have purchased the extended warranty. Is it not reasonable to trust that a Whirlpool washing machine motor should last more than 2 years.I am very unhappy and very angry that Whirlpool will not stand behind their product. The last customer service rep I spoke to suggested she could send one of their repairmen and replace the motor at a cost to me of $299.00. So, after less than 2 years, I am offered an amount to pay of about half the cost I paid less than 2 years ago for the brand new washing machine. My home is full of Whirlpool appliances. I have been a good and loyal customer for over 30 years. I am very angry and upset with Whirlpool. Please explain to me why it is not reasonable for me to trust and believe that a Whirlpool top loading machine that is well cared for and not abused in any fashion should last longer than 2 years? Is this being a loyal Whirlpool customer gets you, I should have purchased the extended warranty”? We are talking about a motor here, not a fabric or bleach dispenser that breaks. Although, those parts should not break either, there is a big difference from something like that and a motor. Please contact me as soon as possible at either number listed above. Thank you.

Although we live in Canada, we purchased our slide-in oven at Sears Roebuck
Although we live in Canada, we purchased our slide-in oven at Sears Roebuck in Buffalo, NY only because of the size availability only in the US (actually, the unit was manufactured in Canada as we found out later!). Obviously, this created another problem since the unit was not underwritten by Canadian Electric codes, Sears Canada repair would not touch it! Once installed, it worked great until the first problem with the oven quitting after self-cleaning. It is the second time in 3 years that both the thermostat and the sensor went in this RBS245 slide-in oven. Once the self-clean cycle completes (quite smelly!) and cools, the oven does not operate rendering the oven useless. First time, in 2009, Sears repair only suggested (since they would not do repair on it for reasons stated above) which parts could be faulty: Timer, sensor, thermostat or elements. It was thought to be the electronic timer unit, which was replaced at a $215 (needlessly) because that was OK. Both thermostat and sensor cost $150. Even the elements were replaced, $52. The second time, just a week ago, exactly the same happened. I replaced the 2 items: Sensor and thermostat at a cost of $154 and the oven worked fine again. I called both Whirlpool US and Canada, but no one could/would give any answers why this happens. So far, it cost $600 in parts to repair! This is nonsense from a company that has had good reputation and record. Obviously, that is changing! If Whirlpool cannot engineer a product that works as they say it does, they should close the shop! Reading here, there are others who complained with the same problem. It is time for Whirlpool to come clean!

A Whirlpool dishwasher was installed by Skyline, a modular home manufacturer, and we occupied the house on August 21, 2014. The appliance never worked and Whirlpool sent repairmen 9 times over 9 months to either repair or determine if it should be replaced. It washed the dishes exactly 4 times in that time. Complaining to Whirlpool only caused a supervisor to scream at my wife that we were the cause of the malfunction. Nearly every part was replaced & they still refused to exchange it for a replacement new one. The modular home manufacturer received the same treatment appealing for us.

Our 2005 whirlpool duet washer steel drum and plastic tub broke. My husband diagnosed the problem and opted to fix it to save money. The parts are under warranty but you still pay labor and technician visit running up to $250-$300. The plastic tub was obtained only if we paid for it $100 and the steel drum they sent under warranty. The plastic tub has a hole with a black plug and sensor in it. There is a discrepancy in the measurement of the old tub and new tubs hole that is slightly larger, therefore when installed a steady stream of water leaks out. I now have 3 plastic tubs as that was their solution, to send more of the same that did not measure correctly. An investigation was done to determine they were the correct parts. As asked we had a whirlpool technician come to verify parts were correct and being installed correctly and the parts sent would not fix the machine due to the hole discrepancy. Many calls were made to whirlpool and they continue to give me the runaround. They now are not taking their technicians information. The technician has given the information to 3 sales reps in the new england area and made several phone calls to whirlpool and no one is willing to give us a solution.

Our Duet Whirlpool washing machine is less than 3 years old. It would not always turn on when we would start it, or it would start and then it would give me an F70 error. If we pushed the start button again, it would continue to go through the wash cycle. There was nothing in the manual about that error. I called the service department and they could not tell me what an F70 error was either. The service department wanted to schedule a service call right away and offered me an extended warranty for $345.00, for one year. Since it was less than 3 years, and it didnt seem too serious (since the wash cycle would complete after pushing start again), I figured that it wouldnt be that much of a repair bill, so I declined. Also, I might add, that my previous 25 year old washer had only had one repair bill for a total of $200.00.When the service tech left, he handed me a repair bill for $741.00! I nearly fainted! He put in a new board. I immediately called the service department back and they said, Sorry, the extended warranty was a one-time offer and no assistance was offered when I asked. I could have bought a brand new washing machine for that price. Bottom line is, I would not buy a Whirlpool appliance again, and I would never contact Whirlpool for a problem. I would contact someone local. Had I known that a repair bill could have remotely cost over $300.00 on a new washing machine, I would have waited until it completely died and then bought a new one, and not a Whirlpool!

We have always bought whirlpool appliances, and trusted the name. We can put a man on the moon but we cant build a reliable bottom freezer refrigerator. My previous refrigerator was whirlpool. 19 yrs old when it went out for a new whirlpool bottom freezer fridge, 2014 Jan. 14 months after purchase, no warranty. The temp in freezer and upper compartment would increase and stop making ice. At first, we thought it was the icemaker. Repairman NOT FACTORY TRAINED, THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT.. Came and looked at it said, yep, icemaker. Plugged it in after 4 days. Just like brand new - making ice, not the icemaker. About 4 days later same problem - temp increasing. Called the store where we purchased it, sent the same repairman. He said it was a cooling fan. This went on for 2 months trying to figure the problem. Well, we cant rebuild a refrigerator out of parts it doesnt need, so we called a FACTORY TRAINED TECH who diagnosed the thermostat and defroster in the bottom of fridge taking two screws out and pulling bottom freezer out. It was iced up. Cost to fix it - 522.00. So I called whirlpool corp., explained problem. They agreed to pay for parts if we paid labor, 100.00. This is doable. However, if we continue to have problems after this, we will purchase a top freezer fridge, no ice maker because they constantly break down.

Certain brands of dishwashers made by Whirlpool, including Whirlpool, Kitchenaid and Kenmore, are a fire hazard. Most appeared to be made in the mid-00s. My Kenmore Elite, model# 665.16293400, bought in March 2006, started emitting a burning plastic smell. I removed the door panel and found where the control board wires have been overheating and melting the plastic liner inside the door.Further investigation led me to kitchenaidfire.com, which details the models involved and includes hundreds of reports of fires from these models. I also searched saferproducts.gov and also found over 100 reports of fires from these models. The report logs are growing rapidly as it appears most of the control boards start to malfunction about five years in.I called Sears and they said that Whirlpool needs to do a recall. I called Whirlpool and I was told that they do not make Kenmore dishwashers, only some parts. This is completely false. I couldnt believe the representative was told to tell me that besides the part that is failing is stamped Whirlpool. These Whirpool-made dishwashers are a documented fire hazard and need to be recalled. I do not know what it takes, hundreds of fire reports have been logged and they are rapidly growing, but I hope that it doesnt take someone to be killed before they are recalled.

Brand new Whirlpool dishwasher from PC Richards. Model #WDT710PAYB2. Dont buy one of these! In the store, I was turned off by the panel being on top of the door and not visible when the door is closed. I dont understand why anyone would not want to see the cycles and operation but my husband insisted that was a good thing so I agreed to purchase. Well, its horrible! I pressed the panel buttons the first time I tried to use it, and the panel switch is erratic and all over the place. For example, if I press Normal, the Heavy cycle button light goes on. When I hit start, all the button lights shut off. I finally get all the lights to stay on and hit start (after about 10 tries) and when I shut the door, the start button blinks and beeps! The dishwasher does not start. After many attempts, I got it to run, miraculously, for about 10 minutes. It emptied the detergent dispenser and left everything inside wet and slimy. Nice. I cant believe Whirlpool would sell such an inferior product. I have always been a loyal Whirlpool customer, but after this experience, I think its time to switch appliance brands. Now I have to be inconvenienced without a dishwasher after spending over $500 and wait for a repairman. Thanks, Whirlpool!

Tension springs on outer tub replaced at same time. Was told the excessive grinding and bumping of the tub was not the reason for the gear shredding.06/30/2017 same problem, I set a repair date 07/01/2017 between 8:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. No one shows and no call. I call Whirlpool and they are sorry and set the appointment the same day for before 5:00 p.m. No one shows our calls. I call back. Already closed. I call the next day. Sets a new date 07/05/2017, 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Same problem. I called back speak to a supervisor who says hell get to problem and find out whats wrong. Sets a new date 07/08/2017 8:00 to 12:00 p.m. 07/07/2017 I get a call after 5:00 p.m. that the repairman is not available and can we reset for 07/13/2017. I hung up and called back the next day and spoke to a supervisor I had previously spoke with. He called an outside repair company that Whirlpool uses in this area. New date 07/12/2017. Repairman shows and I explain the washer plate was loose again and I smelled metal burning. I had told my wife to continue to use the machine to wash the clothes. The repairman tells me I voided the warranty by doing this. Im standing in the garage while he has his head in the machine trying to get the washer plate out. He shuts the lid and turns the machine on wash/spin says the machine is ok. We have an exchange of words and tell him I want to see the washer plate gears. He says he cant get the plate out now and I wasnt there for him to show it to me. This continued until he forced the plate off. He called Tech Support to say I voided the warranty. He told them customer claims loud noises and banging. I asked to speak to Tech but he tells me they dont speak with the customer. I looked at the gears on the washer plate and the transmission. Both had metal shavings. He tells me he is going to do me a favor and replace both. Its supposed to take a week. Wait and see. I have asked for a replacement or money for the machine through Whirlpool. I was told there has to be at least 4 repair requests for the same problem and the repairman has to determine that there is a problem or that its a lemon. I will not recommend or purchase another Whirlpool product.

Bought a Whirlpool washer and dryer in 2/2013. In 5/2014, the washer went out of balance, but corrected itself quickly. Since then, it sounds like a cement mixer during the spin cycle. It took one month to get someone to come out and look at it. Apparently the bearings went and the part alone costs $450! Add another $250-$300 for labor and I could buy another washer. We called Whirlpool, who were unwilling to do anything to rectify the situation, i.e., replace the washer, send a replacement part, give us a discount on the replacement part. We didnt buy the extended warranty because who would think that a brand new washer would crap out after 15 months... and theres only the two of us.Not like Im washing clothes for a family of 5! I only needed a new washer/dryer because I moved out of state and didnt want to move the ones I had. Regretting that decision. I thought I was just being critical and it was just my sensitive ears. Now just past the two-year mark, I know it was not me. It’s the POS washer. It is so incredibly loud, not that you cannot be in the same room as it is during the washing time especially the spin cycle. In its defense, my clothes got cleaned. However, I know that the bearing is eventually going to give out and I will have a mandatory repair on my hands or have to pay someone to fix it. Either way, it’s a lot of time and a lot of money to fix a two-year old washer that should not need to be fixed. I attempted at getting Whirlpool to stand behind their product. No chance, no way. Good luck with that. Their washers last about 2-3 years. I will never purchase another Whirlpool product. This is a horrible product which is matched by their horrible customer service.

At after 4 years of use, my double door refrigerator is giving cooling problem. Upper refrigerator part has excessive cooling and lower part has no cooling... after complaints in customer care, engineer was sent who changed the part that regulates auto cut... it gets blocked by ice so cooling air is not reaching lower part. Once changed exactly after 5 days same problem started... In spite of complaints no one came to check for good 2 wks. After long fight, it was defective board that was changed again. After 3 days same problem again, board was changed... Now after 2 and half month same problem. And now today service center has replied that engineer will be sent after one week.
