I bought a high-efficiency Whirlpool washing machine in August 2011. One week after the warranty ran out, it stopped working. I called Whirlpool who, of course, would not fix my problem because I no longer had a warranty but did put me in touch with a repair company in my area. They came out and fixed it for 100 bucks, service and parts (service, of course, cost more than the part/labor). I didnt mind the hundred bucks, whatever. My washer was working again. Two weeks ago, I experienced yet another problem with my washing machine. Now, I understand machines getting used a lot over the years and eventually burning out, but this machine is a little more than a year old. I should not be experiencing problems with such a new machine. The problem was when the machine reached the spin cycle, it would just stop working and then lights would start blinking, blah, blah, blah. I called the repairman again who came out and reset my machine, hoping that that would work. He then told me if it happened again to let him know and he would have to replace the motherboard. Okay, I can live with that. Another 73 bucks, thats fine. Of course, this didnt work, and we ended up replacing the motherboard. Another 178 bucks - thats $324 that I have now invested in a washing machine, half of what it cost to begin with. But its an investment, right? And I need clean clothes so whatever.I was a little wary when the repairman told me that a problem with the motherboard may be related to a problem with the motor, that it can send signals to the motherboard if its not working and is just a symptom of the actual diagnosis. I guess he was right because 3 loads into using my newly repaired washing machine and the same problem has arisen, yet again. I refuse to invest any more money into what is obviously a lemon. Rest assured I will never again purchase a Whirlpool product, regardless of what type of appliance it is.

The door handle is cracking on my Whirlpool microwave. This is a poor experience with Sears. My original door was smoked up from a kitchen fire. I replaced the door and handle in June. My boyfriend does all the cooking, so I did not notice the handle until November. It is cracking on the side. We contacted Sears, and they said it was past the warranty. This problem is due to a defective product. I have seen several similar complaints online.

I purchased 3 appliances (microwave, stove, and dishwasher) on 10/22/10 when they were on sale at Sears for my soon to be remodeled kitchen. I did not have them delivered until 11/15/10 until contractor was getting ready for them. They still were not installed immediately. On 11/17/11, in the evening, the microwave stopped working. I called Whirlpool on 11/18/11 for service. Whirlpool will not honor the 1-year warranty since technically I bought them in October 2010 but did not even have them installed in my home for use until the end of November or beginning of December 2010. Common sense tells me the company should honor the warranty. Are products being made today to last less than a year before they go bad? To pay for a service call and parts, I can buy a new microwave (but you can bet it wont be Whirlpool).

Please do not buy any Whirlpool product. Worst product and customer support. I got a new refrigerator on dec 2020, just after 1 month I started facing issues. I complained about that and 3 times they changed many parts. Still I am facing same issues. It doesn’t cool, makes too much sound. Every time I have to spend 30 mins in registering a complaint and sometimes they just close it on their own without even attending to it. So weird. Though the product is under warranty, it’s been more than 6 months that nobody has rectified the complaint. Even now my complaint is still pending. If I call customer support, they just provide some number and ask me to call them. Service representatives take their own time and not at all Serious about complaints. This kind of service they provide to customers. Beware of buying whirlpool products. Worst ever products and service.

The Whirlpool Quiet Partner II is a horrible dishwasher and should have never made it to a store to be sold. We have had the dishwasher for 4 years and about 6 months ago it started shutting off minutes after it was started. We would have to press the Cancel Button and try it again several more times prior to it finally completing the wash. After contacting our home warranty for help the tech said it is not worth fixing and will only give us a SMALL amount towards a new dishwasher.

Updated on 04/15/2019: Called customer care about my ice maker which have went out for the second time less than two years and the 1st replacement have only been 9 months from today. Unfortunately they tell me it’s out of the one year warranty process and they can’t help me. Well look like the 2nd replacement should have been under warranty still. Their products are a piece of crap and they know it and don’t care because theyre making money off of the consumers. Be aware and advise you to stay away from Whirlpool appliances. They don’t stand behind their brand. There’s no way anyone should have to be making repairs on a new 2000 and sum refrigerator. My old one is 18 yrs old and still working fine no problems, better than this piece of crap. Warning to consumers. Don’t waste your time and especially your money. Didn’t want to give no stars but you have to give at least 1.Original Review: Purchased refrigerator In July of 2017 and had to have ice maker replaced less than a year of having it. Now again ice maker not working again and only been about 9 months from the last replacement. I think there should be a Lemon law on these products. These refrigerator are not cheap and if I buy something new and spend a good amount of money for, I don’t want any headache and worries. That’s the reason for getting a new one.

Oven was purchased new from Home Depot. Right off, the top black glass surface got scratched. Not sure how it happened. Seems to scratch easily. Then, the oven temperature for baking was found to not hold consistent. While pre-heating the oven for 350 F, the temperature goes up to 375 F, then well into the baking time, can drop to 100 degrees less (275 F). Oven feature is called accu bake. It ruined the baking and seems to be anything but.

Whirlpool GX5FHDXVB03 french door refrigerator: Continual water leaks. Condensation freezes in bottom of freezer compartment then leaks out on to floor. Per repairman, this is a common problem with this model which theyll come out and fix (remove ice and run hot water done drain line for a cost nearly $150) but it will happen again and again, etc. I cant tell you how many times weve had to perform this task. This is an engineering design defect that Whirlpool should fix.

Purchased a Cabrio washer wtw5550xwo in Sept. 2010.. Had to replace the pump a little after the warranty ran out. Then recently the control board goes out. Called customer service to complain. This part costs $320 to replace. They told me since it is no longer under the one year warranty they could not help me. This is a major part in less than 5 years of the machines use. I guess I will be purchasing another washer. It will not be a Whirlpool or any company affiliated with them. How sad. I would not recommend Whirlpool to anyone. Late on the evening of Monday, January 27, 2014, after springing a leak in
Late on the evening of Monday, January 27, 2014, after springing a leak in my 8-year-old water heater, I purchased a new Whirlpool model N50T61 replacement from Lowes. Installation went smoothly and the unit lit off fine the first time. It heated the initial tank of water rather quickly, but the next morning, I noticed the status light on the control unit was not blinking, which indicated the pilot light had gone out. I relit the pilot light, the water heater fired off and appeared to be working properly. 12 hours later, the status light was out again. I relit the pilot, but within 20 minutes, it went out again. On Wednesday, the 29th, I called Whirlpool customer service and explained to the representative what had been happening. He stated that since the status light was not blinking a code, the problem was either an air supply or venting problem, and he couldnt help me. I relit the water heater again and performed the match smoke test described in the owners manual on the vent connection. It did exactly what the manual said it should do, so I assumed that was not the problem. However, while performing this test, the water heater went out again. This time, being right there when it shut off, I saw the status light blink twice about 5 or 6 times before it quit blinking all together. The two blink error code indicated low millivolt signal from thermopile.I called customer service again and explained to the representative what the first person had told me and also told him the results of my test and that this time, I had observed the two blink error code. He asked if I had a multimeter (which I do), so he had me disconnect the wires for the thermopile, connect the meter to the wires, light the pilot and read the voltage. My meter is an old analog unit, and not capable of reading millivolts (which is what the thermopile output is), and I informed the rep of this, but he had me do it anyway. As I suspected, I saw absolutely no reading on the meter. The service rep stated that he believed the error code and decided to send me a new thermopile assembly. However, their shipping department was closed for the day and I should not expect to see the new part until Friday. This was unacceptable, but he stated that this was the only option available to me.After thinking about this situation for a while, I again called Whirlpool customer service and told the representative that I was not satisfied with the solution previously presented to me and that I wanted a return authorization to take the water heater back to Lowes for replacement. The rep stated he couldnt do that, but said that there were a couple other things I could try. He attempted to explain these procedures to me, but wasnt able to do so clearly. He stated he would email the instructions to me. As of this writing, I still have not received the instructions. In the meantime, I did some internet research and found that Whirlpool water heaters have numerous chronic problems, including the issues I was experiencing. I decided this was not a product I cared to own. I called the Lowes store where I purchased the water heater and spoke with the manager. I explained the entire sequence of events to him, and he told me to bring the water heater back for a full refund. Since my local Lowes store only sells the Whirlpool brand, I took the money and purchased a different brand of water heater from another home improvement store. Needless to say, it will be a cold day in hell before I ever purchase another Whirlpool product.

Whirlpool wont reply nor will contracted repair return. We purchased a new refrigerator and dishwasher about three and a half years
We purchased a new refrigerator and dishwasher about three and a half years ago. There are only two of us living in the house and we both work so it is not like we use our dishwasher every day. Dishwasher is Whirlpool Whisper Quiet III Gold model. About three months ago, the panel lights quit working but the dishwasher would still run. Now the blasted thing will not even turn on. Our ice maker freezes up and we are always having to ice pick out the ice and clean out the ice maker. Basically, we never use it because we are tired of the process of cleaning it just to have ice. Now after reading reviews, I do not want to fork out the money to have a repair person come in and fix the dishwasher which most likely will break down somewhere else. Plus the dishwasher tray has a lot of broken tips and are rusty and I have actually had to file a few to keep from getting stabbed by the sharp point. The previous dishwasher worked great and had been in the house for over 15 years. I wish I could remember what brand it was. I only replaced it because I wanted one to match the refrigerator. I am appalled at the quality of the Whirlpool products. I have to get another dishwasher and I have other things that I need to spend my money on rather than a dishwasher. I wont buy another Whirlpool product as of September 13, 2013.

After many phone calls and letters to Whirlpool about the AquaLift cleaning system in their new stoves, that does not work at all. I finally spoke to someone at the corporate office with a brain! I am happy because Whirlpool refunded my money and removed the stove. That was the outcome I was looking for as this new steam clean thing of theirs does not work on a dirty oven. Hopefully, they will work on improving these stoves and restore consumer confidence once again.

I bought an Accubake gas range. I had Whirlpool replace the top sheet metal as it was bowed, cheap & thin. A few days later, they replaced all the brass burner orifices and it all froze and would not turn off. I had to pull the range away from the wall and turn the gas off. Hi Folks, so today I had the pleasure to speak to Whirlpool regarding a rep
Hi Folks, so today I had the pleasure to speak to Whirlpool regarding a repair bill on our washing machine which now has a bearing failure and estimate to repair was 1279.00. Its 6.5 Yrs old, just out of extended warranty and cost me with the pedestal a total of 1250.00 when new. I explained that in the 6.5 since I have lived at this house where we spend all new Whirlpool Gold Appliances, half have now failed. Range Microwave, Dishwasher and now the 1250.00 front loader is dying a slow and agonizing death with a bearing failure. Just so everyone understands, the estimate is from an official Whirlpool repair service that was booked through the Whirlpool website. Other repair folks just would not bother to look at it when I told them I believe the bearing was going bad.The repair man that arrived was professional and on time. However, I had a hard time understanding how a 6.5 Yr old washing machine would be considered beyond economical repair by costing 1279.00 to repair. Labor was 250.00 which I thought was fair. Time, etc. But parts made up the difference in cost. So later in the day, I spoke to Whirlpool and they offered the equal new washer for what would seem an excellent price. About half off. Wow, I thought that sounded good. So I asked if my existing pedestal would work with the new washer and it did not and I would have to pay for one. Regardless if my old one was fine or not.So, they offered a discounted rate from new at another half off. Total approx 800.00. So, I asked the Whirlpool rep to hold on and I need to check with my wife if she wants the replacement. She uses it as much as I do and wanted her thoughts. She checked the model on the washer and pedestal and with the local Home improvement store, they have it on sale for both units (washer and pedestal) and its about 50.00 less?Consequently, I called Whirlpool back and explained that it does not move the needle to regain my trust as compensation on a 6 yr bearing failure, failed dishwasher and range microwave they offer what a distributor of their product can offer for less as a package? Really? I mean, the Home improvement store is not in the business to lose money. Now, I am having a hard time understanding my own failure to have trust in a brand I used to have with my previous house. My mom had an old Whirlpool washing machine that lasted 25 years before she and my dad gave it away. You know, the old white top loader they used to make back in the 70s. Sheet metal, made a racket and never broke? Oh yeah got the clothes clean too! I dont know what to make of it anymore. So, I will just wait till it dies and take my hard earned money and spend it on another brand in my next house which we are going to move to soon. Maybe I can feel nostalgic and find my moms old washer. Its probably washing someones rags right now and getting them clean. It must be 35 yrs old by now.I dont expect to get anything for free. Its out of warranty, so I need to deal with the consequences, but there are steps the other party can take to help remedy the situation. I think they tried and it was genuine but in my thoughts its just not enough when your local box store is offering the same. When you develop a brand to extend a message of trust in quality and value, you need to have quality and value all the time. I suggested they help with the costs on the parts. I would certainly pay for the labor. Parts cost little to the manufacturer. Unable to help that way. I thought it was cheaper for them too. Guess not. Its come to be a throw away washing machine at 6.5 yrs and I am Infinitely disappointed. I just want my washing machine to work as well as my mothers old one and have the possibility to fix once in a while when needed.

I purchased refrigerator in 2010 through Sears. The freezer door began collapsing (like the air was being sucked out) and Whirlpool sent a replacement. I should have known at that point - they had over 20 in stock instead of making it to order with a several week wait as the rep expected. I complained again (out of warranty for the refrigerator, but less than a year for the replacement door) and was given the too bad, so sad - next question routine. Now the freezer wont hold frozen food. If I turn up the dial, I end up with frozen lettuce, etc. So much for Whirlpool! Absolute junk. Bought an entire matching set 2 years ago. Fridge, microwave, dishwasher and oven. Oven is the most user unfriendly thing I have ever bought. That’s my fault. Microwave failed. 300 to replace. Ice maker in side by side fridge failed, another 300 dollar fix. I used to have a field mouse or two get into the house every year. Don’t have that problem anymore because the fridge is so loud it scares them off. Talking to Customer service was the most frustrating thing of all. They think if they say your name in a nice soft tone long enough it will make everything ok. Mother and father raved about Whirlpool products. How times have changed. Do yourself a favor and steer clear of these products. Also, look up the other brand names made in the same factory and steer clear of those as well. I used to think appliances were all the same. How wrong I was. Do your research. It will save you a bundle in the long run.

This is about my Whirlpool Cabrio top load washer machine (model number WTW6200SWD, serial # CT3670597). I bought this machine in 2007, and soon after, I was having problems with the F1 code. After several trips back and forth to reset the code, so I can get the laundry done, and many frustrations, it was time to call Whirlpool to resolve the problem. I find out that there was a recall for this ongoing issue. They sent a technician to replace the mother board, and everything was fine for some time. Soon after, the machine was giving us more problems with the F1 code, and the UL code. It doesnt matter which way I try to balance the load. This piece of junk will not work. Whirlpool needs to stand behind this issue, and recall this washing machine for good. Every customer should be entitled to a full refund, and a compensation for the many hours of electricity, aggravation, and frustration, wasted trying to get this junk to work.

We bought model # WTW5000DW2 Whirlpool top loader. The sensor for water level continually bangs until the water reaches its required level!! Very annoying! I like that it doesn’t have an agitator but that’s it. I’d rather be able to pick my own water level. It also is a very slow process!! I would not recommend this machine unless it is going into a sound proof room.

I purchased my stove in June 2020. I had no idea it was to be connected to the internet, but no big deal. Had I known of all the other quirks I would have thought twice. 1: A red light comes on to tell you a burner is on but not which one. 2: A red light appears when a burner is hot but it doesnt show which one. 3: Only 3 burners out of 5 can be used for cooking the other 2 are warming and melting ONLY. 4: The stove updates its software whenever it feels like it and shuts off the oven and burners. 5: Periodically I have the oven on and it just turns itself off!6: The touch controls for the oven are in a bad spot because if you accidentally touch them when the oven is on the oven will shut off.Not sure if it has any serious problems just the inconveniences listed.

Im very satisfied with the looks and performance of my Whirlpool dishwasher, it is quiet enough that I put it on to wash before going to bed. It is that quiet. Im not happy about the way it was installed, but that is no fault of the dishwasher or Whirlpool, it works great even though it sits kind of crooked in the cabinet. The dishes are always sparkling clean and dry when it is done washing.

Bought on 9/11/2014 and installed by Lowes installers on the 15th. It quit heating two days later. Called Lowes and they said I would have to call Whirlpool. I did. WP had me metering with a multi-meter until found OTC button was tripped. Then they suggested I troubleshoot the elements and sent me a video. I called Lowes and they said they would replace. Later they called back and said WP would not give them a RA number and for me to call them. I did and the rep after much arguing directed me to call their factory authorized service, A & E. I did and they said it would be 33 days before they could come out. I hung up and called Lowes who called back later and wanted me to call WP again. This time they said they did not have a repair service close enough to come, but I could try buying the lower heating element and replacing it to see if that worked. I said no, the heater was brand new and they needed to fix it. Their next solution was have me contact a local plumber and arrange to troubleshoot, me pay the plumber and then send them the bill. They would reimburse me up to $100.00. Not acceptable and now the button has to be reset every few hours and the water gets scalding hot while it is heating. I called Lowes and they said they would get back to me, but I have little hope of a resolution. Product number is ** SN is ** Model is E2F50HD045V. Bought at Lowes, Lindale, TX.

We bought a Whirlpool Dishwasher for a vacation home thinking it was a good brand. It was not a low end model. After two years of infrequent summer use it would start and then not complete a cycle. Looking on the internet I learned the control panel was known to be faulty. An appliance repair person also confirmed that the control panel was known to be faulty. Why are they allowed to sale defective appliances? I also feel Lowes Hardware is not without blame for unloading faulty equipment on unsuspecting consumers. What recourses do consumers have? I cannot afford another dishwasher after purchasing an appliance expected to last for years.

When I contacted Whirlpool USA they offered a warranty plan for $454.00 for one year when I purchased the refrigerator for $989.00. I told the representative, Why would I pay that much money for one year of service when I purchased the appliance for half of what the service fee? I now will no longer purchase anything from Whirlpool when other brands last much longer!

I purchased a Whirlpool cook ceramic cook top for our new kitchen. The very first time I made something (it was lentil soup) something stuck to the cook top. I have had a ceramic cook top before for 18 years - never had a problem until the whirlpool cook top. I cannot get it clean. I have tried everything! Such as stove top cleaner designed for whirlpool cook tops ($22), other cook top cleaners, the single edged razor, a scrubby sponge, steel wool, I even resorted to furniture stripper - NOTHING has removed this spot. I am ready to throw out this new stove top! What a huge disappointment this Whirlpool product is.

Our 4-year old Whirlpool microwave suddenly stopped heating. We thought that we forgot to push something so we tried again to start it. This time, it started to spark. We bought a new microwave oven and foolishly bought another over the range Whirlpool microwave. This was about 1 1/2 years ago. The second Whirlpool microwave oven stopped heating as well. F7 came up on the controls which meant that the magnetron failed in this second microwave as well. We called Whirlpool and they said they would only repair it if we paid for the repair which would have cost almost as much as a new microwave and maybe more if other parts were involved. Next, last year, 2012, the pump on our Whirlpool dishwasher broke and once again, it was too expensive to repair it. We had to buy another dishwasher so we bought a Maytag, not knowing that they were made by Whirlpool. I guess we will have to wait until that guarantee is up before that also breaks. Also, last year, our Whirlpool washer pump broke and that cost us a few hundred dollars to repair. From the complaints that I am reading from people about their Whirlpool appliances, it is seems that their products are made to last just until the warranties expire. We should start a class action against Whirlpool. On many sites, I have read numerous complaints about Whirlpool products, the majority about the magnetrons in their microwave ovens breaking during and shortly after guarantees run out. They should not be allowed to get away with this. BBB, Consumer Affairs, where are you? To the many of you who have been burned by Whirlpool, I hope you have contacted the BBB and Consumer Affairs and maybe even the Attorney Generals office in your home state.

Am posting in regards to a brand new dishwasher that I purchased the first part of February 2020 from Menards. The dishwasher I bought is Model # WDT730PAHB and Serial # F94519386. I had the dishwasher 10 days and it stopped working after running only two times. I checked the breaker box and all electrical connections to the machine and it was getting electricity, but would not turn on at all. I called the store to return it and they only have a 7 day return policy. Since then Whirlpool has been contacted and I have had two service calls from Whirlpool. The mother board has been replaced (which I waited two weeks for the part & five hours for a service man) and still it will not come on. Now I am waiting on a wire harness, ordered on March 4th or 5th and still not here. I completely understand wanting to fix a broken machine, however this was a new dishwasher that only worked for 2 washes. I have now been without a dishwasher for almost 2 months, which in light if our current world situation isnt a huge deal, however this is a time when sanitation is very important. I feel like Whirlpool should offer to replace my new machine with a new machine and not something that is refurbished. At this point it is costing more to repair this machine than to just replace it. Every time I call Whirlpool I get the line of we have to repair it. Give me a break. Take care of your customers!!?? #neverbuyawhirpoolproduct

I bought my first Cabrio set in 2008 to replace Maytags that lasted forever but looked their age on the outside. No problem with cleaning and drying, just wanted something new. What a mistake! I looked in Consumer Report Guide to pick and found the Cabrio set. Had problems after the first 4 months - UL uneven load codes flashing up, and had to replace suspensions and bearings, boards, etc. Unfortunately within that 4 months I bought another Cabrio set to put in my vacation home. Started with the same issues and really hard to get a service technician to come out because of where we were located. Customer service with Whirlpool sucks as well as Sears service. It is AMAZING to me that Whirlpool will NOT stand behind this product. I am writing this as I see an F1 code flashing on my washer here at my second home. I have a load of towels in it and house guests arriving in the morning! I will be trashing this washer and dryer and finding something old school and reliable. I want no bells and whistles, just clean and dry clothes. Whirlpool, you should be ashamed.

The tub has a manufacturers defect in bottom where the plastic is so thin it finally cracked and over time water trickling out went to wall. Then ruined an area in finished basement ceiling. We purchased a Whirlpool refrigerator from Conns Appliances on 2/2/12. It worked fine until about 2 months ago. Then it started freezing food in the refrigerator. We called Conns, and they sent a technician to replace the thermostat. A couple of days later, it was still freezing food. So we called Conns again. They sent a second technician. He called Whirlpool tech support, and they told him to adjust the position of the thermostat sensor. A couple of more days went by, and food was still freezing. The problem had gotten even worse.I called the manager at Conns and suggested that we should consider replacement since the previous 2 technicians were unable to solve the problem. He sent a third technician. Tech #3 called Whirlpool tech support and re-adjusted the sensor. He said there wasnt a lot they could do and that if I wanted to get it replaced, I would need to call Whirlpool.I called Whirlpool Customer Service and explained everything that had happened. They told me they would need to send another technician. I asked why, since 3 technicians had already looked at it. She said there were different levels of service and they would have to send someone from their authorized service company, as if Conns is not authorized. I asked if this problem was common in this model of refrigerator. She said she could research that if I could hold, so I said ok. After being on hold for several minutes, she came back and said she couldnt find any record of this being a repetitive problem.I didnt have a thermometer, and I thought if I had more concrete evidence of the problem, then maybe they would replace the refrigerator. So I put a glass of water in the middle of the top shelf. Within 24 hours, it was frozen solid as an ice cube!Technician #4 came and called Whirlpool tech support. This time, they told him that this had been a problem ever since this model came out and they had a fix that had been on the books since day 1. So the customer service lady obviously lied to me. Technician #4 stuffed a piece of Styrofoam in the hole where the air comes from the freezer into the refrigerator and he re-adjusted the thermostat sensor. I asked if we could just replace the unit and be done with it, but he said we had to wait and see if his fix worked.I went to Ace Hardware and bought a refrigerator thermometer. Two days later, we had frozen strawberries, frozen lettuce, frozen milk, and even the meat and cheese were freezing. My thermometer said temperature was 32 degrees. I called Whirlpool back and insisted that they replace the refrigerator. They told me The unit was not authorized for replacement and they needed a 2nd opinion. I was very angry. I told them there had already been 4 opinions and a 5th wasnt necessary. I wasnt getting anywhere, so I asked for a supervisor. They transferred me to someone named Sue. Sue told me the same thing - not authorized, need a 2nd opinion. I told her that I work at The Mens Wearhouse and that if a customer spent that much money on a suit and had trouble with it, they certainly would not have to bring it back 5 times to have it re-tailored. I asked to speak to her supervisor. She said, Sir, my supervisor doesnt speak to consumers. I could not believe my ears. Where would they be without consumers? I was so mad I hung up on her.Later, I realized I had no options and called to request the 2nd opinion. I was told that the technician could authorize the unit for replacement. They also told me I couldnt get a technician for a week because their technicians were all booked up repairing their faulty products. I had no choice but to wait. I moved my thermometer to the bottom of the refrigerator to see if the temperature was the same there as on the top. The temperature there fluctuated between 28 and 34 degrees. I called Conns to tell them the story, thinking maybe they would go to bat for one of their customers. They told me this should never have happened and that the matter should be escalated to their home office and that a manager would contact me within 30 minutes. He never called. Two days after that phone call, I went to Conns to speak to the manager. I told him the whole story and told him that if Whirlpool would not replace the refrigerator, then I would have no choice but to contact Discover (my payment method for the original purchase) and dispute the charges. I pointed out that even though it should be Whirlpool paying for it, his store would take the hit if Discover reversed the charges. He called someone and told me a Conns service manager would contact me within 48 hours.More waiting. Technician #5 came. I told him he was to authorize the unit for replacement. He said he couldnt do that and that Whirlpool tells all their customers that just to get them off the phone. He re-adjusted the temperature sensor and left. I was livid. Now the problem went the other way. The temperature wouldnt go below 50 degrees. We filled an ice chest with food and ice and began living out of it. The Conns service manager called and said he would have to send a technician. This would be #6. I was very angry with the service manager and called Discover to dispute the charges. Discover opened an investigation, sent a letter to Conns (and maybe Whirlpool, Im not sure) and issued a credit to my credit card account.#6 came and re-adjusted the thermostat sensor. The next morning, he called to see how it was doing. The temperature was still around 50 degrees. He wanted to come and adjust it again. I told him to get the unit replaced! So he submitted paperwork to request a replacement. He called back and said that he felt sorry for us because he knew we had a 3-month-old baby in the house. Since the replacement had been requested, Conns wouldnt pay him to come again; but he said he would come on his own time, on his lunch break, and readjust the sensor in hopes that it would get us by while we waited for a replacement. He said it might take 3-4 days to get the replacement. I told him he could come, so this was technical visit #7. He adjusted the sensor. The next day, the temperature was still 50 degrees.I called the service manager at Conns to confirm that they had requested the replacement. He said the paperwork was submitted, that the home office would review it, make a decision, and that we should know something in a couple of days. That was on Wednesday. On Monday afternoon, I called him again. He said the paperwork wasnt submitted to home office until Saturday and that he was expecting to hear from them by end of day Tuesday. In the meantime, we were still living out of an ice chest.I had already determined that Whirlpool wasnt going to help me, and now, Conns was giving me the runaround. That afternoon, I was working on a project at work with a lady who was fairly new in our company. Turns out she used to work at the Conns home office and she knew people in high places there. She called a VP on my behalf. The next morning, I got a call from the VP telling me that I could get a replacement. I dont think I would have gotten my replacement if I hadnt bumped into the lady who used to work at Conns.I called Conns store, and they said a credit had been issued and I could come to the store and pick out whatever I wanted up to the amount of the credit. I knew I didnt want another Whirlpool. The selection was very limited, but I found a Frigidaire that I thought might work. Then they told me I would have to pay extra for an ice maker, even though I had bought the ice maker for the Whirlpool that was being replaced. I argued with the manager until finally he agreed to give me the ice maker, delivery, and installation.Yesterday, Conns called to tell me they were coming in the afternoon to install the refrigerator. They had the audacity to ask me what was the matter with the unit they were replacing! They did come and replace the unit. But wait...Thats not all! This morning, the ice maker had not made any ice, even after running all night long. Conns sent a technician today, and he said all of the parts were not installed and it was preventing proper water flow. He is coming back on Tuesday to install the missing parts. So we still arent done. I dont know if Im more angry with Whirlpool or with Conns. Whirlpool did not honor their warranty and Conns got stuck with it. But then Conns provided poor service too. I got stuck in the middle, and it still isnt fully resolved.

Ice maker kept freezing up. Im continually taking the ice tray out to unfreeze. The frequent removal of the tray eventually broke the tab off on the liner. Ive now been told this (liner) is not a replaceable part and since that is the case, the warranty will not cover. Im upset that the repair technician did not process the claim properly and state that the make had a problem freezing. What kind of company would manufacture a product that would have parts that are unrepairable? You spend close to $2,000 on a refrigerator, wouldnt you think you would have an ice maker that works? Let me start out by saying that I had a Whirlpool washer that lasted me for
Let me start out by saying that I had a Whirlpool washer that lasted me for over 25 years and done a great job of washing my heavily soiled clothes. One day it refused to run and I tried to get parts for it but it had become obsolete and no parts were to be found for it, so I had to buy a new washer. I chose whirlpool again and let me say that it was a huge mistake. This model is a low water, high efficiency, top loading machine. It has nubs in the bottom that agitate to clean the clothes. The first time that I used the machine, I found that I had made a mistake purchasing this machine. It does not clean the clothes and there is NOTHING efficient about this machine. I have to run the washer twice to clean my clothes and they are still not clean. It leaves soap in the clothes and does not rinse them clean of the soap. What it does very well is extract water from the clothes during the spin cycle. This washer really turns up the high RPM`s on spin cycle. It has ripped apart several of my shirts during spin cycle. Whirlpool really failed badly on this machine. I see clearly now that Whirlpool is not the company that they used to be back in the 1980`s. I still have the whirlpool dryer that I bought back in the 1980`s and it still works very well. To end this story, I loaded up this NEW WASHER in the back of my truck and took it to the scrap yard and I asked them to destroy it in front of my eyes. I wished that I had recorded the destruction of this piece of JUNK and posted it on YouTube for the world to see. I got over $450.00 of pleasure watching the crane operator completely destroy this pile of crap. GREAT JOB WHIRLPOOL … YOU HAVE LOST A CUSTOMER FOREVER. I WILL NEVER BUY ANY OF YOUR PRODUCTS FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE and will advise others not to buy Whirlpool products as well. I am a male, 62 years old and work hard for my ill spent money on your JUNK. Life is always a trial, live and learn the hard way. Warning to all consumers. Do not buy Whirlpool products ever!!!! Less than 3 years later it had broken 3 times with three different part problems with a total down time of 6 months. Despite saying it didn’t qualify for lemon law, I was able to get it replaced after presenting all the facts. 3 years later, the new one is now currently experiencing the same problem and running a toasty 58 degrees and my food is once again in coolers on ice. I purchased this machine, a Whirlpool Cabrio WTW5640XW, from Lowes on Dec. 11, 2010. I just realized today, Dec. 24 2012, I had a 2-year extended warranty plan! Shame on me. At any rate the washing machine is very hard on clothing, tearing light fabrics and ruining my wifes bras. The clothes often come out with shreds of fabric from the other clothes in the washer. Oftentimes, it will not complete a cycle because it constantly goes out of balance. Today I paused the machine halfway through the wash cycle after the soak cycle to throw in some more laundry and start the cycle over. Half the clothes were still dry! Yes it may save water, but if you only use a cup of water for a load of clothes, how well can it clean? My wife has sensitive skin. So now we wash a load with extra rinse and normal soap then run the cycle again with no soap to get the soap residue rinsed out. Were saving big now! Yes, we are using HE detergent and the recommended amount. The machine is pure junk. I would love to see a class action suit against Whirlpool for selling such an inferior product. I know thats asking a lot in the land of no accountability we live in today, but one can always dream.

I bought a new Whirlpool fridge that has been a piece of junk since the day I bought it. The minute the warranty expired. The thing broke down. The corporate service center was a joke. 15 min wait time just to get through. Then a runaround of misinformed referral numbers. Minimum charge $200/30 min just to have a service rep even look at it. And then $100/hour + parts after that. Highway robbery. My doctor doesn’t even charge me that much. I will never buy a piece of junk WP product ever again. Their customer service is rude and non-existent. The company does not stand behind its products. Don’t buy!

I purchased a Whirlpool refrigerator, model # ED2FHAX005, serial #SW1126490, two years ago. I have nothing but trouble with the ice maker. It keeps jamming up with frozen cube. While under warranty, I had it fixed but since then, it has happened twice more. The repairman who fixed it said there was a part missing and a part of the unit was melted. Not only that, but the plastic is coming off on the handle. Nobody at Whirlpool will help me. Too bad, there is no warranty anymore. This refrigerator is a lemon. I am so sorry that I purchased it.

I purchased a fridge from them a little over a year ago. First and LAST EVER. The freezer door started to sag and when I called them I was told my warranty expired a month ago. Had a Whirlpool service person look at it and told me that the cost is $110 plus $45. I said that is fine. They scheduled another appointment but I received a call 12 minutes before the time expired (as you know they say in the afternoon and no exact time and they said between 2 and 4:30) and the guy asked me what is wrong with the fridge. I told him that someone took a look at it a week prior but I had to go through the whole thing. Then he said that they dont have the part and I have to wait for a week. This was a Saturday before Xmas and waited all afternoon to be told that was very upsetting. Any how I called customer service and spoke with a Michelle. She said she is going to try and find out if she can waive the additional service fee, arrange the time and will comp the parts (around $15). After 45 minutes on the phone I had to jump off for a business call so Michelle said she will email me and I gave her my email.Few hours passed and no email. When I called back the idiot that answered the phone kept saying that the warranty is out and I need to call another number so I asked for a supervisor. I was on hold for 11 minutes then I was hung up on. I called again and asked for a supervisor. Spoke with Benjamin (Opt# **), he said that Michelle notes did not state anything about help in possibly waiving anything and that I refused the parts. I was furious. What a LIE. Long story short he said they cant waive anything and I should call the scheduling number for any help. I asked to speak to Michelle and guess what the answer was... SHE IS BUSY. What the hell. The service is well below zero as well as the quality of the product. I am going to send a letter to the office of President (Jeff Fettig) Whirlpool Corp. 2000 North M-63, Benton Harbor, Michigan 49022-2692. It is so sad when corporation are so big that little people who buy their products dont mean much to them.

I purchased this Deep Cabrio Washer and Dryer a year ago. We moved into our new house and put in the new washer and dryer. During the first load in the washer, the spin cycle blew the ring right off of the hose and flooded our new laundry room and bedroom in the basement. My husband had to put a clamp on it to secure it. The washer does not wash the clothes, in fact you have to always wash it under Deep Water and wash it twice using twice as much detergent as you normally would. This washer is horrendous. My best friend bought the same one at the same time and she hates it just as much as I do as it does not clean clothes. Whoever designed this washer should be fired from Whirlpool. Bought a Whirlpool Cabrio Washer Dryer combination on 4-5-2009, had it delivered on 4-20-2009, was very excited to get this set as it was like my first ever brand new washer dryer. I thought Id spend the money get something good and it would last for years and years. Was I ever wrong. I bought the set and the extended warranty from Lowes and my total with delivery was 2579.00. 20 days after the extended warranty expires (that I never used) the bearings on my Washer go bad. This thing in spin cycle sounds like a jet engine. I called to see if Lowes would still honor my warranty because I never used it and they said no. I called Whirlpool and checked to see if there was a recall and they said no. I checked to see if there is anything they could do at all because this is a huge known issue and of course they said no. (Just look on YouTube for Whirlpool bearing replacement and the amount of views should indicate the amount of troubled users.)Called a repair scheduled through Whirlpools website to come look at it for a 75 dollar assessment and they said it would be about 500-550 to replace the outer tub - largely due to the fact its labor intensive and the bearings are packed in the outer tub from the factory. I was like are you ** kidding me? I paid 1029 for the unit brand new in 2009 and 550 to fix? I said thank you to the repair guy and escorted him nicely out. Upon that I called back Whirlpool to tell them how displeased I am and how I will not be another product of theirs ever and mostly due to the fact they know this is a huge issue and wont do anything about it. I will be going to Lowes to see if the guy who sold me this pile of crap will work me a deal on another unit or set of another brand after I show him my receipt and express my displeasure with that product. If they wont do anything I will go to another store and spend my money elsewhere - I have choices and others do too. So if you are thinking about buying anything in the Cabrio line, dont. Go Samsung or LG - 10 year warranty straight from the manufacturer and costs 200-300 less than I paid for my washer dryer 5 years ago. The bearings are ** and shouldve lasted a lot longer for the amount I used this machine and for what I paid! Shame on you Whirlpool for using crappy parts to make your machines.

I will never purchase from Whirlpool again. After 3 years of use in a 2 - person (adult) household, my Whirlpool Duet (WFW94HEXW2) washer suddenly stopped working with an F6 E2 error code. I unplugged / plugged in the machine, took off the top & checked connections, and let it sit overnight. I could not get it working. Speaking to a local repair technician via phone, he indicated it is likely the control board. Whirlpool changed that part from part number W10406632 to part number W10427967. Before spending the money on a service call, he suggested I contact Whirlpool to see if it is under recall. I contacted Whirlpools customer service. They told me the washer is not under recall but I may qualify to purchase their Repair + 1 service. When I expressed frustration at spending so much on a product that lasted only 3 years I was told This is not a known quality issue or recall. I will document a complaint for you. The chat session was then terminated by the customer service representative. We will spend over $300 to replace the part that Whirlpool obviously knows is flawed. However, I will not pay for an additional Whirlpool repair service to fix something that should not have broke in the first place. And Whirlpool (including Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn - Air, etc.) will never get our business again.

The washer started to show error code for the door and washer would not restart. After removing the top of the washer and checking the door switch to see if there was a loose wire, I traced the wire back to the micro control unit, and upon inspection of the micro control unit, I found that the terminal that the door switch wire was attached to was loose and not making contact with circuit board.Although the washer is out of warranty being 7 years old, this is clearly not a part that is subject to wear and tear. The part was clearly manufactured poorly. I looked on the internet to purchase a new part but it seems that all micro control units are out of stock. This makes me wonder if one should start a class action suit as my part could be one of hundreds that was poorly manufactured. I called Whirlpool to see if they would send me another part to replace the bad unit but they said that because the washer was out of warranty, they could not help.

I purchased my Cabrio a little over three years ago. Within the first month, the computer board had to be replaced and the tech informed me that it was not a malfunction in the unit; rather, it was because I did not have a sock bag for my socks and panties. I replaced the board, bought a sock bag and had no problems for about 1.5 years. A little over a year ago, the un-level started. I did research and found that I needed to replace the rods and add couplers as they were not thought of when the unit was created. This worked for an entire month. Now, I am in the same position again. It takes about 6 tries per load and the amount of water I am using is increasing with each failed attempt to wash. There should be a recall on this product. I notice there are many other complaints that match my frustrations exactly.

Our new Whirlpool Side-by-Side Refrigerator is very versatile as it serves the needs of a busy, family kitchen. It is heavily used storing cold foodstuffs to feed our family of four, plus two active grandsons. Being able to re-configure the shelving space enables us to adjust the main compartment accommodating items of different sizes (think a thawing turkey or a 24-can case of soft drinks!) to ensure our most functional usage. The same can be said of its freezer space - it too features built-in slots to reposition shelving for varied size packages and boxes. Convenient in-door water and ice dispensers round out the beneficial features of this attractive appliance.

We bought this Cabrio washer WTW6400SW2 several years ago. Immediately after having it delivered and installed, it started displaying an F1 fault code. The main control board was replaced under warranty. It happened again within six months. Another board was replaced. That board lasted another six months. The warranty was up by then, so I used the machine by hovering over it and restarting it every time it failed. After two years of this piece of junk, we put it in storage while we worked on the road. It was brought out on 10/01/11. I called a repairman (who came on 10/04/11) to come replace the board again. He told me that the last two times it had been replaced with the same defective board, that Whirlpool had never fixed the problem. He claimed he had the new improved board, which he replaced for about $350. Two days ago (361 days later), it went bad again. The same repair company came back and said it was the board again. I just tried chatting with a person working on the Whirlpool website. They (of course) said they would do nothing about the washer. They do not stand behind their product, obviously. Does anyone know of a class action lawsuit over these washers? It is a ridiculous amount of money to spend for a product that does not work. This is just wrong!

I purchased this Whirlpool, model YGY397LXUQ04, electric range in midsummer 2011 and used it very infrequently for approximately 5 months as we were away for 6 months during the winter. On approximately June 15, 2012, we found that the keypad would only register 350 deg. F for the oven if we pushed the bake button two times and the oven temperature would go up to 550 deg; F if we pushed the 7 button 3 times. In discussion with the service manager from Whirlpool, he advised that the stove was out of warranty and they would supply parts at no cost but we would have to pay the labor costs which in my estimation would cost over $200. After searching the internet for similar problems, it was evident that this problem was not uncommon. I am concerned about the quality of this product and if it can possibly be a fire hazard. I would not recommend this product as the quality, possible safety issues and reliability are a significant concern.

Whirlpool Washer W10740628A - So disappointed! I have made adjustments for a year trying to get clean clothes from this machine. Compared to my previous machine which wore out, I now use more water because only deep water wash provides enough water; I always choose double rinse because if the machine does not clean, I do not trust it to rinse effectively either. I use more Tide than previously per wash; I use more Clorox than previously per wash. Everything from tea towels to heavily soiled jeans show stains and soils after washing. Instructions say not to spread the item in the washer but allow it to stack on itself, so twisted and tangled wet clothes are the result. I try to soak and scrub all visible dirt before I start the machine now; additionally, I use a mop or plunger or my hands to thoroughly immerse the clothes in the washer, somewhat like my mother did in 1950s. What on earth is this about and what is the buyer supposed to do???
