One year to the day after the warranty expired, the meat drawer in the refrigerator began filling with water. Two repairmen have been to my home and cannot repair it due to a design flaw. Also, I had to pay for a cracked bottom tray that happened during delivery which I didnt know occurred at the time. Whirlpool is now ignoring my phone calls and emails. We paid in excess of $800 last year. What am I going to do now? Buy another refrigerator and get rid of this one? I dont make that kind of money and I feel Whirlpool should stand behind their products. This model is not even on the recall list so that means to me that other consumers buying this model are getting ripped off also. The customer service people say sorry but wont budge on reimbursement. I was told they cannot honor my request. Whether this was under warranty or not, it still cannot be fixed according to the repair tech that was at my home. I need to find someone to help me before this lemon I bought decides to burst into flames. I want a replacement refrigerator, not this model of course, of equal value. I am not asking for the moon, just for something that works beyond one year. In this economy, we cant afford to buy a major appliance after one year. My car is still running and I bought that in 1985. Please find someone to help me. I thank you for your time.

I purchased a side-by-side Whirlpool refrigerator less than three years ago, but about a year ago we discovered it was leaking from the freezer thats located on the bottom. Initially we thought that if we simply defrosted the sheet of ice that formed on the bottom of the freezer - it would stop the leaking. Its hard to keep up with - I checked into it on the Internet and discovered that there is a clogged drain hole that is causing the leaking.Apparently, a number of people are experiencing the same thing. I called Whirlpool (since our local repairman suggested we contact them because this is a chronic problem and is likely to happen again). The customer service person kept pushing me to buy the extended warranty with their repair that will cost nearly $400!!! Without it - it will cost nearly $200 that doesnt include any parts. Its a new refrigerator, very bad quality and theres damage to our kitchen floor, and then Whirlpool wants me to pay $400 to repair the mess they made! VERY UPSET...

Ive owned this Whirlpool, bottom freezer refrigerator for two and a half years now. About a year ago I began to notice water on the floor in front of it. I had the ice maker hooked up, which I never used, so I disconnected that. The problem continued. I discovered that the bottom of the freezer compartment would fill with ice and once full the next dose of water would flood the surrounding floor. I have cleared the ice out, on a weekly basis, but have still had the water flow onto my floor. Its a daily thing now as Ive gotten tired of pulling the unit out and removing the ice build-up on a weekly basis. My replacement refrigerator will not likely be a Whirlpool of any model.

Within 10 days of installing our new Electric range the cooktop does not look new and although we have used the prescribed cleaning methods, will not remove some cooked on spills over one burner and another burner has white rings around the glass above the dual zone cooking element. While we did not choose the top-of-line model; had expected much greater durability and appearance for our new range. My call into Whirlpool service made me feel like mine was an extremely isolated case and yet nothing would be covered as would be classified as customer fault. Highly disappointing as the cooktop on the range that we replaced seemed so much more durable.

I purchased Whirlpool Duet HT front-load washing machine with model #GHW940
I purchased Whirlpool Duet HT front-load washing machine with model #GHW9400PLO. After a year of owning the product, failure codes continued to appear. I have followed the direction under the troubleshooting page which said to cancel and unplug the unit. After doing this over and over, I finally took the top lid off to inspect the problem. A ribbon cable was torn due to the top lid rubbing against the lid and the drum. I called Whirlpool and this was not covered (go figure). I then asked for the ribbon cable and they said they cannot just supply the ribbon cable and that I would have to buy the user interface which is $191 plus a $35 core fee because they re-bill them. What a rip off. A ribbon cable from a computer store would only cost $10.00. After that repair the Micro Machine control went out which is code F11. Code F11 is all over the web because this is a defective part that Whirlpool should do a recall on but why do that when they can charge $310 plus, get this another $35 core charge because they re-bill them? If you are not mechanically inclined with these parts plus labor you could have bought 2 washing machines. But who in the world would buy 2 pieces of junk right?Bottom line is: do your research and buy from a company that will stand behind their product because Whirlpool will not! They know by the number of parts they ship out that that part should be recalled.

I now have rust happening because it doesn’t dry. DO NOT BUY THIS MODEL.

Whirl Pool Duet Wash WFW9400SW - I had this washer for 5-1/2 years. I use it about 3 times a month. Warranty ran out this last February. Machine stopped working. Called tech and he came and said I need a new console and power board. Two weeks later I get told they dont make it anymore and sorry about your luck. Bought in October 2014. Died December 2015. The previous Whirlpool microwave this unit replaced was 10 years old and carried a 5 year warranty on the magnetron. Imagine my dismay to find out this unit carried only a 1 year warranty on the magnetron. So 2 months past warranty expiration Im left with a dead unit. I performed elementary troubleshooting. The unit has a fuse on the 120 Volt input. But the unit must be disassembled to gain access to the fuse. So what SHOULD be a five minute job turned into an hour and a half. The fuse wasnt the problem - replacement fuses blew like popcorn. Fuse placement within the unit without regard for service considerations is a poor design. To their credit, Whirlpool agreed to cover the cost of repairs if I would pay for labor. I agreed. A tech came out and looked at the unit. He said that he would have to order a bunch of parts and that he would be back in contact by the end of the week. Three weeks went by. There was no call from the tech; my messages on his voicemail generated no response. So a couple of days later I purchased a replacement from a competing manufacturer.

Purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio WTW7340XW2 washer approx 2 years ago. The machine runs so loud on the spin cycle you cant have a phone conversation or hear the TV over it and is leaking grease from the bottom. My mistake to not purchase the extended warranty but you would think a machine would last more than 2 years. I contacted Whirlpool online and by mail and they do not stand behind their product. I did contact a local repair shop and by our phone conversation was told it would be approx 300-350 to fix it and Im not putting that kind of money into a repair. Just want to let consumers know this machine is junk and spend your money on quality appliances, not Whirljunkpool.

Our 2005 whirlpool duet washer steel drum and plastic tub broke. My husband diagnosed the problem and opted to fix it to save money. The parts are under warranty but you still pay labor and technician visit running up to $250-$300. The plastic tub was obtained only if we paid for it $100 and the steel drum they sent under warranty. The plastic tub has a hole with a black plug and sensor in it. There is a discrepancy in the measurement of the old tub and new tubs hole that is slightly larger, therefore when installed a steady stream of water leaks out. I now have 3 plastic tubs as that was their solution, to send more of the same that did not measure correctly. An investigation was done to determine they were the correct parts. As asked we had a whirlpool technician come to verify parts were correct and being installed correctly and the parts sent would not fix the machine due to the hole discrepancy. Many calls were made to whirlpool and they continue to give me the runaround. They now are not taking their technicians information. The technician has given the information to 3 sales reps in the new england area and made several phone calls to whirlpool and no one is willing to give us a solution.

I have a double door bottom freezer refrigerator manufactured by whirlpool. It is less than 2 years old and is an absolute piece of garbage! In less than a year the noise started, then the freezer became a refrigerator and my frozen stuff melted. I had a local technician come in and he fixed it but he indicated that the fix would not likely correct the problem. Sure enough, about 6 months later the same problem started all over again. Nowadays one is never sure where a product is manufactured. However, if Whirlpool had their products made by chimpanzees in the jungle they would be better than the pieces of trash they are now selling!

I purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio Washer In July 2014 for $937 cd. What a waste of my hard earned money! I have had nothing but issues with it since I purchased it. The retailer no longer sells them as they have seen nothing but complaints with them yet Whirlpool did nothing to help me as a client. It does not wash the clothes, there is such a foul smell even when cleaning it once a month as requested and the clothes comes out soaking and not rinsed properly. The technician came out and advised the washer was not broken. That is just the model. I have requested supervisors to call me back and most recently wrote the corporate office. I am out almost $1000 and in a situation where I have to go purchase a new washer as I just cant stand to use this product any longer. I am shocked they have not placed a recall on this model. What a poor product.

We moved into our house about 5 years ago. We didnt know how old the heater
We moved into our house about 5 years ago. We didnt know how old the heater was so 2 years after moving in, we replaced it with a Whirlpool Electric Water Heater. (2009) Last August, (2 1/2 years after installation) we found our carpet soaked in the room adjacent to the water heater and discovered it had been leaking into my finished basement for who knows how long. We contacted Whirlpool and they said they would replace the heater but I had to pay for the install because it was over a year. Mind you I had just paid 300 bucks 2 1/2 years before to put that one in. So I paid another 300 bucks to have a plumber come out and install this one. I had extensive damage to my basement, rug, walls with mildew and possible mold from the water. I went through my homeowners insurance and had almost $5000.00 worth of damage. So about a week ago my husband calls me downstairs and guess what, my brand new rug that I had replaced 11 months ago due to a leaking Whirlpool Water Heater was soaked again. This heater, 11 months old, leaked yet again!!! Needless to say Im beside myself, especially when I call Whirlpool and they will replace it, again, but who the hell wants to have damage to their finished basement every year??? When I called and asked them to pay for the damage this time because I cant possibly put another claim in with my insurance in less than a year for the same thing, they just say that they will have the labor charges dismissed as a courtesy. As a courtesy??? I said its been less than a year so they owe me the labor charges; she said no that it goes by the original warranty from 2009. What??? Thats utterly ridiculous and how is it possible that they can get away with this. That has to be against some state statue or law, to use the previous warranty on a defective product. So now Im left with about $2000.00 worth of damages this time to my brand new refinished basement all at the hands of Whirlpool. I had to get another one of their heaters because they wouldnt even give me the money for the heater so I could buy a different kind. I will NEVER buy a Whirlpool product again and Id advise to anyone who will listen to spend a little extra to avoid this hassle!

We have had our range for over one year. The main problem is that the large burners are in the front and the small burners are in the back. This means that when we are using the two front burners we cannot access the rear burners safely. (What country provided the engineering design for this?) One minor problem is that we cannot get used to the burner control arrangement. The outside controls control the front burners and the inside controls control the back burners. Our old range was the right control for the back burner and the left was for the front burner. Another small problem is that there is no back to the pan drawer. So, with the drawer full if a pan move when the drawer is shut it will be scraped off the drawer and fall into the back and becomes hard to reach to remove.

First, I contacted the service contract people. They told me this was not covered under the policy. Next, I wrote & called the company. The walls show the styrofoam stuffing in the refrig. The shelves rest on these openings in the vinyl walls of the refrig box. This is a disaster and the refrig was 1400$$$. I have extended warranty which does not cover structure!!! I paid ~$1200 for a new Whirlpool (French door top fridge and pull out freezer bottom) 7 years ago when I bought my house. I was so excited - and the appliance has been a problem from the beginning. It has always made a very loud knocking noise - even when it was new. I was told by the technician there was nothing he could do and Home Depot wouldnt help me with it either. My freezer has gone out three times - the last time was the day before Christmas Eve 2016 (a few days ago). I lost everything for my Christmas dinner that was in my fridge because that went first. Then when the service man came today, I was told it was the freezer that is causing the problem and everything had to be defrosted - plus they had to order a part that would take 3 to 5 days - so Im now going to lose everything in my freezer as well. All in all with the three service calls and the food I have lost probably amounts to around $800 - $900. I am so upset and cannot get any help from anyone. So, Im just warning you - NEVER buy a Whirlpool!

We purchased a 4 piece set of Whirlpool kitchen appliances and have minor to major problems with 3 out of the 4. We had problems with our gas range/oven from the start. When I called to register the brand new range they told me it had been previously registered to someone else and they made me fax my receipt to them proving that the appliance was purchased new. Lowes said it was brand new in the box when I purchased it leading me to believe Whirlpool tried to pass off a refurbished product onto Lowes and then onto us. No surprise when the stove stopped working 3 times in barely over a year. It was so defective Lowes ended up replacing it for us. Not Whirlpool... they only argued with me about how the third time it was out of warranty and offered no help in fixing or replacing the defective oven. Now our ice maker just stopped dispensing ice 7 days after our warranty expired on our refrigerator model # WRS586FLDM00. Whirlpool will only agree to cover parts and is sticking us with the service call and labor! And thats not all... the plastic coating on the dishwasher racks started coming off exposing rusty metal when it was barely over a year old and I have received a postcard indicating there is a lawsuit involving our model for overheating and fire events! Now waiting for that to be our next issue. I am so disgusted with Whirlpool. We bought Whirlpool appliances believing they were quality products. They are quite the opposite. Wish I had researched their reputation and history of complaints before buying. Do not recommend Whirlpool Brand. Sincerely, Disgusted in California

Have had this washer for one year. Clothes have never been clean since day one. Dark clothes come out with white marks all over. Having to use an extra rinse cycle or set on bulky items - whats the point of a high efficiency appliance? Still not clean after that anyways. Stains such as chocolate and toothpaste still remain after washing and my husband complains of finding small holes in his clothes. Lid needs to be left open at all times or you get a funky smell. Whirlpool Platinum Cabrio Washer wtw8240 - Ive owned this washer for two years. Worst two years of my life. Its leaked since day one. They have attempted to repair the leaking on 5 different repair visits (told me the nozzle that puts the water in the tub doesnt stop in time and it overflows on my floor). Finally it seemed to be somewhat fixed and then it started to sound like a freight train coming through my house. They determined the bearings were worn on my tub and had to replace the whole tub unit. Seven visits. I got one month out of it and it’s leaking again. I am now out of the extended warranty I purchased. This is ridiculous. Isnt there a lemon law on appliances? I know if a dealer attempts 4 or more repairs on your car for the same problem unsuccessfully, it qualifies for the lemon law. $800 for a washing machine that dumps water all over my floor and no one can seem to fix it. After doing much research on refrigerators, I chose the Whirlpool with the French doors and bottom freezer. Within a month, I had to call the repair service. The freezer made a thick layer of ice on the bottom, wouldnt shut properly (I had to keep a heavy box in front of it to keep it closed) and frosted over all the food in it. On his second visit, the repair man told me that the company knows about the problem, that there was a problem in the design of the appliance, and created a piece to be installed in the machine to alleviate the problem. The problem has not been fixed with that added piece, and the repairman has been here a few more times. Now the freezer just randomly stops making ice on top of all the other problems it has. The retailer would not take the fridge back, and I refused to buy an extended warranty for an appliance that the company themselves knows is a lemon.

I bought this Whirlpool french door, bottom freezer refrigerator for $2100. In 10 years I have replaced the compressor three (3) times. Bad design and a real piece of crap! I was told by Sears that all Bottom freezer Whirlpool refrigerators are made by Amana. That is why I bought the frig. Ive had wonderful experiences with Whirlpool and Amana product in the past, but this time their design is so flawed.

It is a really great microwave, but the door is falling off of it. We can still use it, but try to be careful about it. I honestly and truthfully love my whirlpool microwave as well as my whole set of whirl pool appliances. The door is trying to fall off, but we can still use the microwave. If we get another one we will probably get another whirlpool because I love it so much.

I purchased my Cabrio Whirlpool washer 4 years ago and have had problems every since I bought it! Thank goodness I bought the extended warranty! The last two repair bills were over $1000 each! My warranty just ran out and I had it repaired last two months ago! This is not my first complaint! When will they start listening to consumers? This is ridiculous! Now I am faced with the problem of just trashing this washer or spending another $1000 to repair it! Something needs to be done! I am warning all of my friends and family and will post again my problems with this washer on all my social networking sights! Whirlpool needs to take responsibility for their problems! I will never purchase any Whirlpool products ever again if they do not assume responsibility!

I bought an whirlpool stove from conn store in 2007. The oven hasnt work right since day one. They send different people out to service it - still dont work the right. We smell gas when we try to light it. It wont come on 90 percent of the time, sometime we have wait a while to start it. They refuse to exchange from day one, we cant afford to throw our money away so we do more top cooking than bottom.

Whirlpool N50T91-403 purchased in Mar 12 had an error code 4. I knew the water heater had a safety installed in it when I was working on the plumbing and allowed it to drain the hot water side down to 16% of capacitance of 50 GL. After the plumbing issue was resolved, I saw the water heater had shut off (thermal protection) but the switch wasnt tripped as far as I could tell. Knowing small processors can only remember anything if they have power, I removed the Honeywell circuit board and with my multimeter probed all of the capacitors contacting them both (-) and (+) and in reverse order. Doing this forces the IC to forget its codes because they require a small amount of voltage to remember them, usually powered by a small capacitor. I reinstalled it and voila! Presto! It works again.

I bought a Whirlpool Cabrio 1.5 years ago and it has already died. Repairman need to replace the control board which had gone out. $450.00 to replace that piece, but could not guarantee that it would be the only problem. The motor or some other issue may have caused the board. This machine was purchased at Home Depot on sale and at $450.00 to repair would be approximately 70% of the original price. It will be cheaper to buy a new one rather than fix this one. We were not happy with this machine in the first place. It leaves the clothes stained with a white powder that never rinses off. The cycle time is very long, up to an hour to wash a load. The clothes are still very wet once the cycle is finished, which of course increases the drying time. I cannot recommend Whirlpool top loaders after my experience with this machine.

I purchased my Cabrio a little over three years ago. Within the first month, the computer board had to be replaced and the tech informed me that it was not a malfunction in the unit; rather, it was because I did not have a sock bag for my socks and panties. I replaced the board, bought a sock bag and had no problems for about 1.5 years. A little over a year ago, the un-level started. I did research and found that I needed to replace the rods and add couplers as they were not thought of when the unit was created. This worked for an entire month. Now, I am in the same position again. It takes about 6 tries per load and the amount of water I am using is increasing with each failed attempt to wash. There should be a recall on this product. I notice there are many other complaints that match my frustrations exactly.

My landlord purchased a new Amana washer (NTW4605EW0) Labor Day weekend 201
My landlord purchased a new Amana washer (NTW4605EW0) Labor Day weekend 2015. It started having issues in the spring, so we went through the process of utilizing the manufacturers warranty. Apparently, Amana, part of Whirlpool, requires 5 attempts at repairing the machines before replacing. Okay, so starting in June 2016, we arranged service appointments 5 times and replaced 1 part, then another, 4 times. Clearly, that part is defunct. Right? Fast forward to September and then into October. Get a new washer, and not the one I preferred. We got the Whirlpool WTW4816FW1. Before the installers leave, we are having the SAME issue. Stops midcycle, doesnt finish cycle, sometimes stops while filling, or while full, or kid wash, or mid drain... But now with the new washer, the drain and spin cycle thinks it should FILL instead of drain... and Whirlpool said they would get someone out the next day, a promise they cannot keep because they dont supply the repair guy, they source with local companies. So, the company ordered 3 parts... That could be the problem. And 4 days later, 2 parts are on freaking BACK ORDER. Parts arrive. All new parts replaced. Machine still doesnt work. Outlet tested by us and them and it is fine. The techs think there is some kind of RF interference. Turn off sensor light, which is on the same wall, unplug power to wifi router (which outdates the washer). Still, doesnt work.I have spent half my week, every week, since June, restarting my washer, unplugging the damn thing, waiting, and waiting, trying again and again and again to wash 2 loads of laundry a week... Literally takes a week until the damn thing does its job. Whirlpool is sent us a replacement washer. Can you guess what happened the first time we started it? SAME ISSUE. Cycle will not complete. Sometimes it dies before it even fills. Sometimes it dies while filling. Sometimes, it will fill and fill and drain and fill and fill and drain and... never stop filling. Or, the fun one, the drain and spin cycle thinks it is suppose to fill. Continuously. And then, suddenly, after unplugging it for 1 hr, or 24, or 72 hrs, it will work fine for 1-7 cycles. Nothing is consistent except that it doesnt work consistently. HAS ANYONE HAD THIS MUCH TROUBLE???

We have front loaders. Far, far less damaging to the clothing than a top loader with agitator, would never go back to top loader. That comes with a caveat though. There is a difference you may not realize between the two styles. With a front loader comes a little maintenance. You will need to clean the washer periodically. Most all the stores sell the cleaning tablets and no, not all cleaners are created equal. I will only use Affresh after testing most of them. With a front loader there is always some water in the bottom of the drum, even after the cycle ends and even when it looks empty. So if you wash real dirty or smelly things, you’ll want to run an empty cycle to rinse out that leftover water or run with cleaner. In between wash days you’ll need to leave the door open so it doesn’t mold or mildew. The door gasket/seals will show mold and mildew and or you’ll get a mildew smell in your clothing. The only issues we’ve had with these units were the learning curve on front loaders in general and with the dryer we had the water valve for the steam function stick open (after 5 years) but it was due to calcium build up from our well water, not a issue with the machine itself. The dryer lint screen could be better. It is vertical so as the lint builds up during a cycle it drops to the bottom and accumulated at the bottom falling off as you pull it out each time to clean it. The lint catches on a crazy amount of extrusions inside the lint trap which also makes it nearly impossible to get down in and effectively clean all the crap out. One last thing if youre changing from top to front loaders. Buy the peristalsis, they’re expensive but it’s a pain in the butt to get stuff out if you don’t have them. Overall we’ve been very happy with our Whirlpool front loaders and would confidently recommend them to you.

I bought a Whirlpool model GI7FVCXWY00 over and under refrigerator directly from Whirlpool through DirectBuy on April 19, 2010. The unit was a relatively high-end model (over $2,000) that came with a 12-month warranty. Thirteen months after purchase and 1 month after warranty expiration, the ice maker stopped working flooding the kitchen in the process. We called Whirlpool who recommended one of their authorized maintenance subcontractors (GuinCo) to appraise the problem. GuinCo came out, diagnosed that a valve in the ice maker had gone bad and the repair cost us $364. We chalked that up to Murphys Law (repair needed immediately after warranty expiration). Not 4 months later, the kitchen comes up flooded again and again and the ice makers not working. We call GuinCo, the repairman come out and said this time that its a heater and ice maker defect which will cost $643 to repair. He also said that the unit has been designated as having a design defect. We held off on the repair until we could contact Whirlpool for some remediation since it has become obvious that the unit is a lemon. I called Whirlpool, laid out the problems, timelines and potential cost (ice maker failures are going to cost us almost half of what the entire refrigerator cost before the unit is a year and a half old) and the only response they had netted out to was: Sorry, you should have had extended warranty. This is a prime example of an American manufacturer, marketing an inferior product and offering the customer nothing when the lack of quality becomes obvious. I will recommend to anyone I know to stay as far away from Whirlpool products as long as I live.

Whirlpool Cambridge Model #WTW7300DW0 - Someone needs to help us consumers with this wash machine purchase being refund our money back from Whirlpool. It literally eats my clothes. I have 23 shirts that have pin holes in them and 1 shirt with large holes in it. I also have a ruined comforter and blanket. The comforter has soap stains everywhere which dont come out so its not cleaning the clothes, the blanket (which Ive had for over 30 years) was frayed one side, seam torn off - the piece never came out of the wash machine. I have pictures attached of the damaged. Its suppose to be Water Efficient - thats a joke! I do 1 set of king sheets. It runs for an hour and 20 minutes and fills water to the rim of the washer and does this twice. Id like them to pay for my water bills! Oh they came to service it only to tell me I was putting the clothes in wrong. The service company said I had to put the clothes against the sides and leave the middle open. They told me there was nothing wrong but consumer error. Well I did clothes today and aligned them like the service company said - 4 more shirts were ruined. Called Whirlpool today. They said they were sending someone else out to fix the problem and said, Unfortunately, we dont pay for damaged goods. Well from all the reviews I read Whirlpool needs to suck it up and recall this piece of crap they call a wash machine. Did I mention its only 1 year old, yea this is horrible!

As described in many similar instances found on numerous complaint boards (including this one), Whirlpool has defective over the range microwave convection ovens (model # GMH6185XVS) with faulty magnatrons. I have had the exact same experience with a new product failing at 16 months (the first time) and within 6 months failing again. Whirlpool is not concerned about their consumers, only their money. They are more than happy to sell an extended warranty, but are not willing to work with customers that have lemon products.I tried working with Whirlpool customer support with little assistance other than to offer to sell me a $250 extended warranty. I additionally filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau concerning Whirlpool to include over 10 pages in documentation with numerous people reporting this same complaint. Whirlpool is still not willing to acknowledge they have faulty or defective components in their product and so generously offered to pay for the replacement component (only - not the service to repair it).I spent $600 on this unit new, $163 to repair it the first time (at 16 months old) and no doubt it will cost me an additional $163 to repair it again (not even 6 months after the first repair). I am not willing to continue to throw good money after bad on a defective unit. For the cost of the repairs and their extended warranty, it is cheaper to buy a new unit from a different manufacturer. It is clear from this site (in addition to numerous others) that Whirlpool has a definite quality problem - both in products and service!

I was attracted to it by its simplicity in design and price. I have had it almost a full year and love it. I like that it has the deep water wash for over-sized items and a full-sized agitator. Here in Brazil, we use to have a very good brand of durable and reliable refrigerators and home appliances called Brastemp, and I was a very happy, fidelized customer of theirs. The time came for me to move to my new house. I gave my old appliances away to friends and modeled my new kitchen with Brastemp products. What I didnt know then is that Whirlpool bought the brand in 2000 and was selling their appliances over the Brastemp brand since.Whirlpool is clearly selling disposable appliances here. My vacuum cleaner failed after a week. My brand new refrigerator and laundry machines failed weeks after the one-year warranty and the dishwasher sometimes heats up and tips the 20A circuit breaker (suggested by the manufacturer), which is only for the dishwasher. For my complete surprise, my old appliances are still functional in my friends house. I got my old dishwasher back and I had absolutely no problems since. The vacuum cleaner failed again, this time 5 months out of warranty. In all fail cases, the price to fix it was about 70% of the price of a new one, which I took as a sign to replace them for something else. Good job, Whirlpool! You bought a nice brand, trashed it and gave the finger to fidelized customers you acquired with the new brand by replacing quality products with built-in obsolescence others. What do you plan to do next? Whatever it is, dont count on me as a customer ever again.

We have a large family so when we needed a new refrigerator we found this very large unit (Whirlpool 32 cu). About this unit, its not really all that wide, but it is very deep. Lowes didnt have a model on the floor but we went by photos. Also the salesman showed us a smaller version of this unit and we were impressed with the design. However unlike the unit we saw the shelves arent adjustable. They are preset. Also the ice maker on top is very small and makes ice very slowly. The freezer section ice maker is much larger. The main complaint I have with that is unless you push the tray all the way to the back ice can drop behind the tray and fall down causing the freezer door not to always close properly, leaving you with semi defrosted food. Whoever designed this refrigerator was an idiot. All issues are really related to design flaws. This is a very expensive refrigerator. I expected a great unit and got a piece of crap instead. Stay away from this model at all cost. It would be smarter to buy 2 refrigerators instead if you have the room. This model will give you nothing but a headache and grief. This is our story about our experience. This all took place within 1 year. We bought it at Lowes. They were wonderful when it came to taking care of us when it was within the stores’ warranty. They really tried to help us. Once their warranty ran out they put us in touch with our new repairmen. Lowes did tell us that one other man bought the same unit and he was up to refrigerator # 15. Like I said, this unit is crap. Our first unit was delivered with a huge dent in the door. They took it back (lucky for us we have 2 other refrigerators).Second unit arrived in store also badly dented. They didnt bother to deliver that unit. Third unit arrives at store but back area around motor all dented up. They order a 4th unit. This unit wasnt dented up so they delivered it. However doors were very off and wouldnt line up so it didnt close properly. A 5th unit was ordered and same issue with the doors. A 6th unit ordered and they called telling me that it was all dented up and needed to order a new unit. Our 7th unit arrived and in 3 days started making funny sounds. Dual ice makers stopped working and inside refrigerator is was very warm. Lowes ordered #8. This unit the freezer doors werent lining up so #9 was ordered. This time everything seemed to line up, no dents however by the third month it started making a funny sound. Dual ice makers stopped working. Warm inside the refrigerator section. Lowes sent out a repair man. He explained a design flaw was not enough insulation around the fan so it was icing up. That was replaced and it was working nicely for 4 months. Same issues with fan icing up, the noise and no ice. The repair man came out again and mentioned what was kind of a recall with the unit. The control panel in the back of the refrigerator was wrong and needed the correct one to be put in. That was done. He told us that we shouldnt have any more issues with it.Same thing again. Same symptoms, same results...we had to throw out hundreds of dollars worth of food. (I just put in an entire prime filet mignon I planned for a special dinner and had to throw it out. OUCH!) Awaiting for the repair man, again. He will be out in 5 more days. Im sure it will be a new issue, a new brand new fix and it will work for a few weeks to months and we will be calling him again.

Do not purchase Whirlpool smart freestanding gas range model number WFG975HOHV. I purchased the range and the refrigerator around Christmas of 2018. The first time I turned the oven on to make Christmas dinner the carbon monoxide detector alarm went off. I have tried to use the oven twice after that and the same thing happened. The oven also never gets to 350. I spoke to Whirlpool who said to unplug the oven. They stated a technician would be sent with a carbon monoxide detector and to conduct repairs. The technician came and could not get the oven to 350 and the carbon monoxide detector alarmed. He stated he has to order parts and return to complete repairs. This is a brand new oven that I could not use because the carbon monoxide alarmed and the oven was not heating to 350 because it keeps restarting every few minutes. So here I am not able to use the oven for over a month and waiting for parts for a brand new range. Do not waste your money on Whirlpool products. Also the customer service has no empathy knowing their products are defective.

We have owned the Whirlpool Quiet Partner II for about 2.5 years. We purchased this from our local Lowes store (on sale). For the first few months, everything was fine. Then, the dishwasher stopped completing a full cycle and left the dishes somewhat dirty. I found online that I could reset the controls by pressing heated dry-normal-heated dry-normal quickly. When the cycle starts, I press cancel and then set the cycle I want and it will do it correctly. I do this every time I wash the dishes since I dont know when it will decide to stop working (wasting water and soap to redo). Now, the dishes are not drying and water collects on the ceiling of the tub. I saw this after a smell was coming from the tub (like mold) and when I looked up at the top of the tub, I saw water droplets hanging there and mold forming around the sprayer and back of tub. I have to wipe the ceiling dry now or just run vinegar through it often. I cant see paying someone to come out since service calls start around $70 just to come to my home. I did look at reviews for the dishwasher before buying but I wished that I had seen this site first. I would not ever recommend this dishwasher to anyone!

Everything else works fine! Let me repeat that. I have a 20 yr old Whirlpool microwave that works just fine! Well, since the oven broke, we thought, maybe its time to update all the appliances. We went to the large appliance store from which our original ones came, and were told that all microwaves are now made in China by Sharp, and are crap!! Wed be lucky to get 3 years out of one. My jaw hit the ground. I couldnt believe the appliance salesman was telling us this! In fact, the appliance repairman that diagnosed my oven to be unrepairable ($100 trip charge, thank you very much) didnt have much good to say about the newer refrigerators... It only has a 1 year warranty. The cost of the light would be over $500.00 dollar and that dont included labor. Dont even know the cost of fixing the loud noise. I just want people to be aware of Whirlpool appliances. After only 1 year of service it not going to work. Whirlpool will not fixed them. It sad we work hard to get a home and how will have to spend a fortune to get them fixed. Whirlpool you need to make better equipment. With is coming without home we were not giving an opportunity to buy an extended warranty.

On May 25, 2008, I bought a Whirpool Model# BFG1J4040T3NOV 40 gallon natural gas hot water tank. The pilot light went out today, Sept. 26, 2011, and it will not re-light. This was bought at Lowes and was rated as a 12-year warranty on the tank and parts. This is premature failure of a product that is listed as 12 years. Due to all the other similar complaints of this Whirlpool hot water tank, I would like my money back ($455.81) plus installation or a new tank installed.

We purchased the Whirlpool Cabrio washer a few months ago. When we wash the white cloths using the (white) setting and add bleach and the HE detergent, the washer does not clean the white cloths very good at all. Sometimes the white cloths come out looking worse than they did before they were put in the washer. We called the people at Whirlpool and they said there is nothing they can do as long as all the functions on the washer work the way they’re suppose to. I thought the function of the washer is to clean the clothes but, they say no, as long as everything on the washer is working. That is what their warranty covers.

It still cleans our laundry very well and we are getting our moneys worth from this washer.

Whirlpool Cabrio WTW5600XW - Bought the washer/dryer set on May 13, 2011. The dryer has not given me any trouble. The washer on the other hand has been awful! From the very beginning, I noticed the washer was not getting my familys clothes clean! If one of my children had gotten anything at all on their clothes, I would have to wash about 5 items of clothing to even have a chance to get it clean! Doing this did not always work! I usually send my really dirty clothes to my mother for her to wash in her old style washing machine with an actual agitator! They always came out clean when she washed them! Also, please do not attempt to wash comforters, sheets or any bedding in this washing machine. It does not clean them! When you take them out, they smell worse than when you washed them and have wet and dry spots all over! Oh, and they are still dirty! It is now May 8, 2013 and my washing machine does not wash or agitate anymore! I called Whirlpool and they can only offer 2 options. A repairman for Whirlpool in my area will come out for $129 to diagnose what is wrong. This price does not include parts or labor! My other option is a flat $300 where this will pay for everything along with a 1 year extended warranty. So with the $300 option, this will put me paying about $1,000 for my washing machine! This is ridiculous. My washing machine is only 2 years old. I should not have to be repairing already! Do not buy this washing machine. If you do, definitely purchase the extended warranty and be ready to use it!

Whirlpool is an absolutely terrible company. I bought a stove and a microwave. The stoves lower drawer would fall off its track every time I opened it because it only had a single track at the front instead of one that went to the back to keep it stable. It scratched my baseboards horribly and was a huge pain. When I called to complain, they said they had no record of such a problem and were completely useless, despite the fact that the store I got it from acknowledged having the same problem and said that Whirlpool came out to fix it for them. Maybe Whirlpool only helps corporate customers so they can keep fooling people into buying their unbelievably ** products. The plastic casing around the microwave door handles started cracking (first the bottom cracked and a large piece fell off and now the second is cracking). I called to complain and was informed that because this was happening over a year after purchase (the microwave is 1 year and 2 months old) they couldnt do anything about it. The last time I checked, appliances are meant to last longer than a year before they literally fall apart. What a joke. I will never buy Whirlpool again and I will make a point of telling every single person I ever know whos buying a home to avoid their products as well. What an epic fail.

Bought a Whirlpool fridge at Lowes sale when the previous Samsung suddenly died before the Thanksgiving Day. Under the circumstances at the time, it was largely a price driven decision (for a fridge of a certain size with some non-negotiable characteristics, though.) I could not be happier with its performance in the two years since the purchase.

The Clorox side is full of water, and the softener half of the time dont even drain all the way and not happy with that. My French door refrigerator and freezer stopped cooling while under a 5 year warranty. The repairman came out 4 times to fix it over a couple months and I lost the ENTIRE CONTENTS of my refrigerator and freezer 3 separate times! I am a single mom working at a non-profit agency and I had to take 4 DAYS off of work to accommodate the repairman. Finally the repairman notified Whirlpool it could not be fixed and I was told by Whirlpool that it would be replaced under the warranty and I should wait for a call back, which never came. I called back after a few days to speak with the Exchange department and Mindy told me that I had to pay $1600 to get the exchange! When I asked to have the call escalated she flatly refused! What kind of corporation is Whirlpool that would treat customers this way? Never mind that the quality of their products gets worse with every passing year! Made to break so they can force you to buy a new one! Ive been without a refrigerator for 8 days already and cant feed my family properly with no place to store food!

I purchased my Whirlpool Cabrio H2Low from Sears 6 years ago. After numerous problems with clothes not getting clean (soap spots, stain transfers, etc) I learned the only setting I could use that actually cleaned was bulky with an extra rinse (so much for the energy efficiency). My first major repair was in the first year. Weve since had 3 more and the darn thing died again this morning. First the motherboard died and needed replacement, the drain pump failed, the door lock failed, and twice now it stopped spinning. At first I thought maybe I was just unlucky and bought a defective machine but repair sites are filled with reports of similar problems with these machines. I will never buy another Whirlpool product again.

Purchased Whirlpool side by side June 2010. Within a few months realized major problem with ice maker. Reservoir on door would leak and freeze inside the door. Service man out at least twice, advised to maintain service contract as would continue to have issues. It still leaks, freezes up and does not dispense properly. Now the inside liner of the refrigerator is cracking and neither the warranty company nor the WHIRLPOOL Manufacture Co. will stand by their product. It is my intent to warn as many people as possible, so they will not have the same bad experiences.

I purchased my Whirlpool washer on June 28, 2011. Within 4 months, I had to call for a repair. It is now going to be a year and I am on my seventh repair call. The repairs have been everything from loose pulleys, new belts, and new valves. When I called to complain, they said there is nothing they could do and I should take out the extended warranty. I have had washing machines last up to 15 years. Needless to say, they werent Whirlpools. I really would like to have it replaced. I dont think its fair to me that I should have to wait for a repairman to come out and tell me he doesnt have the part and has to come back. I did take out the extended warranty, which cost approximately $150.00 and that should not have to be.

Purchased my first Whirlpool refrigerator, model WRF989SDAM00, in 2012. Six service calls later, Whirlpool replaced it with the same exact model. I am now on my 4th service call with the 2nd refrigerator because of dripping ice maker, fan going out in freezer, condensation continually dripping on everything in the refrigerator. Finally, last week, I had enough & wrote certified letters to Whirlpools corporate offices, the service company they sent out to fix it, which was a nightmare by the way and the Better Business Bureau. I am still without a working refrigerator after two months!!!This is two lemons that Whirlpool has sold me in less than two years and the service has been horribly unacceptable!!! I noticed recently that the plastic on the door had hairline cracks near the handle and now is beginning to crack around the glass on the front door. I called American when I noticed the cracks by the handle and was told that it was cosmetic and not covered. Now the cracks around the glass may be a bigger problem if they let fumes out from the microwave. I am waiting for a second answer from American. I feel like the problem is with the plastic itself.

They really dont make them like they use to, do they? This Whirlpool Cabrio
They really dont make them like they use to, do they? This Whirlpool Cabrio aka Caprio has given us problems for the past 3 years, weve owned it for 5 years. It doesnt matter how much, or how little clothing you put in this washer machine. It will start going NUTS, Thudding, Banging against the inside of itself, completely out of whack, and then it will show a UL where the time is shown. Every time we do laundry this happens, and we have to stick our hands in the hot water and reorganize the clothes, and pull more and more clothes out till theres only about 3 items of clothing left! This washer is GARBAGE! I advise people to keep away from it. The washer we had in the past lasted us years upon years. These washers of now in days are Crap Garbage. Keep the fancy tech look, and give me the old fashion Knobs ANY DAY! Whirlpool brand is Not what it once was.

Am posting in regards to a brand new dishwasher that I purchased the first
Am posting in regards to a brand new dishwasher that I purchased the first part of February 2020 from Menards. The dishwasher I bought is Model # WDT730PAHB and Serial # F94519386. I had the dishwasher 10 days and it stopped working after running only two times. I checked the breaker box and all electrical connections to the machine and it was getting electricity, but would not turn on at all. I called the store to return it and they only have a 7 day return policy. Since then Whirlpool has been contacted and I have had two service calls from Whirlpool. The mother board has been replaced (which I waited two weeks for the part & five hours for a service man) and still it will not come on. Now I am waiting on a wire harness, ordered on March 4th or 5th and still not here. I completely understand wanting to fix a broken machine, however this was a new dishwasher that only worked for 2 washes. I have now been without a dishwasher for almost 2 months, which in light if our current world situation isnt a huge deal, however this is a time when sanitation is very important. I feel like Whirlpool should offer to replace my new machine with a new machine and not something that is refurbished. At this point it is costing more to repair this machine than to just replace it. Every time I call Whirlpool I get the line of we have to repair it. Give me a break. Take care of your customers!!?? #neverbuyawhirpoolproduct

We just love the hidden icemaker, the outside display for temps, ice, water, external H2O and crushed or cubes, and the LED inside lighting is fantastically bright, the space, moveable shelves, the quiet, the overall efficiency, huge drawers freezer, the wide open doors, the separate temps for vegetables, cheeses, cold cuts, etc. The separate filters in the refrigerator eliminate any smells. Easiest water filter to change we have ever had on any make refrigerator. Over the years, this is the first refrigerator of perhaps 7, we have truly never regretted buying it and frequently comment how happy we are with it!

Just purchased Whirlpool top load large capacity washing machine with no agitator at Lowe’s three months ago. I sit at the kitchen table in my freshly washed exercise clothes and smell body odor. There were six exercise items in the load and supposedly enough soap. The load washed for 45 minutes last evening. Yard work clothes washed yesterday are not clean. I had to remove grass from the bottom of the tub. When I iron my smocks for work, since I work with animals, I pick pet hair off of them as I iron. Judging from other reviews, this torture won’t last long, before I need to replace this piece of junk. My last washer lasted 20 years. If it didnt leak water, it would still be running. Thanks Whirlpool, I guess the joke is on me!

I bought my microwave on Dec. 8, 2010 and paid to have it installed. On June 29, 2011, the microwave quit heating anything up so I called Whirlpool. They sent a technician out and he repaired the magnetron. The tech said it was defective. I accepted that but then on Nov. 8, 2011, the microwave quit again, same problem. I called Whirlpool and told them I thought it was a lemon and wanted it replaced but they refused and said that they paid to have it fixed. They came out and fixed it. Same problem, the magnetron. Well, here we are another six months later, it has quit again. I have been on the phone with Whirlpool. I spoke to a lady named Barbara and she said even though its out of warranty, they would be willing to pay for the parts, not the labor. Of course, labor is more than the parts. So, I asked her whats going to happen another six months from here on. When it goes out again, she said that that was it. They werent paying for any more parts. I asked her for her supervisors number. She advised me to write a letter and someone would call me. Well, a lady named Donna did call and she told me the same thing. They would pay for parts but not labor and the offer was only good for 30 days. Also, I have the tech talk to their techs but she didnt have the number and maybe they could find the problem. Well, the problem is its defective. Thats all there is to it. We could fix it over and over again but its going to keep burning out. I told Donna surely I cant be the only one complaining about this microwave and her response was theres no recall on it. Something needs to happen. This cant be right. We spent hard-earned money on this product and shouldnt have such a problem every six months.

I have had a plumbing company work on my Whirlpool water heater three times in the last two months. On the third visit, he told me all the problems customers have had with Whirlpool water heaters. I decided to call Whirlpool for warranty purposes. The unit is three years old. I was told that it was the gas valve, and I was given a free one from Lowes. After installing the new valve, it still did not work properly. After troubleshooting with a technician, I was told it was the orifice. I have had to do all the labor myself, and I dont know how long this is going to go on. I have heard Whirlpool will continue to give you the runaround (from the plumbing company and Lowes salesmen) and will continue to give you the runaround and not replace the unit. They are wearing me down. I have been without hot water for three weeks with no end in sight. I am ready to give up and just buy another water heater but certainly not a Whirlpool.

My new ACCU-BAKE oven was not baking properly. Always uneven results. Finally called for service, just in time before the warranty expired. The service rep informed me that I had not bought a convection oven. Well, duh! Of course, I knew that! He tested the temperature levels inside the oven and found a variance of 10 degrees Celsius, which he reported by phone to the company. He advised me to reach into the oven half-way through any baking process to turn my cake around, and it would bake evenly. I asked him if he had ever tried that himself. No, he said, he was not a baker. That was the end of the service call. No follow-up, no service. Today I learned that the company actually has this exchange in its records, but if I want to get the oven to work properly Ill have to pay for service, as the warranty has expired.
