Samsung refrigerators have a problem with ice buildup behind the evaporator
Samsung refrigerators have a problem with ice buildup behind the evaporator cover. They have a replacement part to fix this design defect but they expect their customers to pay to make this repair. Very poor customer service when you ask your customers to pay to correct your design flaw. Dont buy a Samsung refrigerator!

I have owned this pricey Samsung Induction Range NE58H9970WS for two years and am having oven issues that I would consider to be safety related. When using the lower section of my flex oven, the broiler in the top section comes on although not in use. It gets extremely hot and oven starts to smoke. On two occasions, the broiler remained on when oven features where all off. We had to turn off the circuit breaker to get it to stop. Samsung has indicated to me that there must be an internal hardware issue (no kidding!). I will be contacting the service technician in our area to have this rectified. Although I do love the induction cooktop, I would not purchase Samsung in future as it was expensive and they appear to have poor customer service.

Purchased in 2009 from Lowes. Was instructed to call Samsung due to out of warranty status. Was informed by Samsung that my complaints were mine and it was not Samsungs issue but was cosmetic and I would have to take care of it myself. She stated that there had been no other complaints such as this and passed me on to Quality Control who also told me that there was nothing like this on any of their refrigerators. Today I spoke with the main office of Lowes and apparently there is nothing that can be done for this except to replace the doors and drawer or pull them off and have someone sand them down and repaint. My concern is this... WHY is there RUST under the white paint??? I do not have any leaks, I do not use any cleaners except for a damp cloth and there has been nothing hit any of the edges to create cracks. I started with one small area 3-4 weeks ago and now it is across the bottom of the left door, all the way across the top edge of the freezer drawer and one small area that has just popped up on the bottom of the drawer. This is only 6 years old!!!

Less than 2 years after purchasing our Samsung RF266AEPN refrigerator, the fridge started making VERY loud sounds. Turns out the evaporation coil in the back wall of the fridge had a huge build up of ice due to a poor design. This ice made it impossible for the cooling mechanism to function properly. We spent hours carefully melting the ice away and clearing the coil of ice, and putting everything back together. This has become a twice annual ritual. Now new symptoms have developed that will necessitate spending money to repair this piece of junk.

This is accurate and fair. Here it goes. I purchased this refrigerator in 2014 from the Home Depot. I also purchased the 5 yr extended warranty (just in case). It all began with them delivering the wrong unit and it also had a hole in the back from a forklift. The delivery company left it in my driveway and drove off and in the process, ran into and wrecked my neighbors picket fence and would not share insurance information for replacement. Yes. HD sent two young men to pick up the fridge without a lift on the back so all of us had to heft this into a high bed truck to remove it. Ended up renting a truck and picking up and installing the new one ourselves. So I have had this refrigerator for 10 months and it stopped cooling in the fridge and the freezer. I want to add that the vegetable storage units do not keep the vegetables for long at all. They go bad after a couple of days. Back to the technicians, 3, yes 3 hours on the computer chat with a (3) tech(s) from Samsung to reset the OFF reading on the digital display. After 3 hours of attempting to reset and do all the bells and whistles to reset, the tech(s) then tell me that the panel is bad and needs a technician to go to the home location and repair it. They said to call Samsung to create a ticket. Ok, also called Asurion who has the warranty. They said they would create a ticket and send me a food loss form. Sent food loss form and then Im told that a reimbursement will not be issued until after the repair? I then call Samsung who tells me that there should be a repair person by Wednesday or Thursday (it is Saturday) and they would create a ticket. Then I called the Home Depot who tells me that if the issue was not solved by Wednesday or Thursday they would send me a check for the fridge or a new one? WTH? Its now Thursday (6 days after fridge quits) and no one knows about the problem or any ticket issued. I snapped. We then start all over. I am then told that it is a simple fix and I would have to pay for the repair? NO, NO, NO. I am then sent to the secondary customer person who then creates ANOTHER repair ticket and tell me that the repair person will call me in about 48 hours or so and cannot even conceivably come until next Tuesday or Wednesday. No we are into 11 days of this issue. So, this Samsung refrigerator has NO repair people in this area and yet they are continuously sold. Now what? I paid over $2,200 (on sale) for this absolute piece of mechanical scrap with the worst customer service ever. NEVER, and I mean NEVER purchase this refrigerator or any Samsung refrigerator, NEVER. Repeat that to yourself.

From the time that it was new the ice maker in this model refrigerator was awful even when it was not frozen over and the ice making unit was not in need of de-icing. The ice maker was slow and low capacity from day one, but the real defect appeared within 3 weeks after I got my new refrigerator. Ice making had stopped completely and when I removed the compartment it was immediately apparent why this was. The entire rear portion where the cubes feed into the holding area was caked with ice and ice cubes, and freezer frost, with freezer frost creeping out all of the way the front part of where the assembly seats.I called Samsung for assistance or repair and was told to turn off the ice maker and put hot water on the areas that were frozen over. There was no way to effectively do this because of where the ice had caked - way back in the tightest and coldest area. Very unreachable. After great and careful effort I was able to get it cleared and the ice maker working again. Within two weeks the problem repeated and I called again about my brand new refrigerator that was less than 6 weeks old. After explaining the situation and requesting repair I was told to modify the freezer settings along with the same instructions to use hot water to melt the ice. The thought was that the freezer being too cold or too warm might be contributing to the problem. Once again, failure. Another 2+ weeks passed and the ice maker was frozen over again. At this point I just went to Amazon and purchased a good heat gun and established the habit of thoroughly melting the ice and drying the entire area out, then leaving the ice maker off for a few days while checking to make sure that things stayed dry. After this ritual I turn the ice maker back on and now get about 4-5 weeks of use before having to de-ice again. My 21st century ice dispenser has to be maintained in the same manner as a freezer from the 1950s. Because of this I buy bags of cubed ice on a regular basis as a matter of habit. With the exception of the ice maker my Samsung Chefs Series refrigerator is pretty good with nice features and electronics. But given the price I paid for a flagship appliance from a top name manufacturer the overall experience has been a big disappointment. Even more so when Samsung Customer Support is factored in. This is a two-star review all the way.

I wish I did more research and read reviews before getting into a Samsung refrigerator. 2 1/2 years ago, I bought a new refrigerator. Since I was spending more than a $1,000 on a fridge, I expected to last the usual 10 years and did not buy the guarantee. Well, I had problems with the refrigerator from day 1. A week after it was delivered I had to call service because of problems with the ice maker. After that service was called three more times with same problems. Motor is out now. Of course Samsung said you are out of luck since you did not pay $400 extra for the guarantee. I explained to them that is a persisting problem but they just say you are out of luck. Horrible customer service and worse product I ever spend money on. My washer and dryer are from another brand and I had them for more than 10 years. I will never buy a Samsung product again and will make sure my friends and family never buy a Samsung product either. Do yourself a favor and skip Samsung.

I LIVE in Costa Rica, & bought my first Samsung product 15 years ago---a side-by-side refrigerator came with a 3-year warranty. In slightly less than 3 years, the electronic display on the door went nuts. I had crews taking my fridge apart every week. After replacing the panel/circuit board/wiring harnesses/entire door, they gave up & gave me a new one which lasted 7 years. When my fridge died, so did my washer & I bought another Samsung side-by-side which came with a free washer. I LOVE BOTH MACHINES, which perform perfectly & am shocked to see such complaints about the company & its products.

We purchased our Samsung mini split air conditioner not even 3 years ago. The first summer it was in they had to replace the communication wire so the inside unit would work. The second summer it had a leaky valve so they had to recharge it and we havent even started our third summer and the fan motor inside the head needed to be replaced. They ordered the new motor and installed it, now both circuit boards are fried. Samsung is not willing to stand behind the product and said it isnt their product, was made by someone else, even though their name is on it and passed the buck onto a third party. Said we need to schedule an onsite visit for the unit to be looked at. Samsung informed us this would take 2-3 weeks to be arranged. Considering all the issues we have had since day 1, this is not very acceptable customer service. I would not recommend this or any other Samsung items to people based on this interaction with them!

I agree with all other complaints. I have had this dishwasher (Samsung dishwasher DMT800) since October 2010. I have always had problems since the beginning. I had to replace plastic raisers on top rack at least 3 times and another is breaking. It does not clean dishes. I have to use heavy load just to get a little cleaner. Plastic detergent door doesnt always open. I cannot put any dishes close at all. My other dishwasher (in the old home rental) still works great. I wish I still had it. I have tried several different ways to get better cleaning from the dishwasher. I should not have to baby this machine to clean my dishes. I have an OE error now. I purchased it at Lowes and extended warranty. I called on 02/03/13 and cannot look for service until 02/13/2013. Very inconvenient. I actually have shopped for a new one. Does not have rinse, only cycle. I was told by the salesman it did. All I want is a dishwasher you can use rinse only and put dishes in and have clean dishes. Not too much to ask!

My DMR78AHS Samsung Dishwasher was purchased Feb 2011. It needed its first repair in March 2012 (one month after the warranty was up) to the tune of $158 due to the tabs breaking on the upper rack and getting down in the motor. Last Friday (Feb 2014) the exact same thing happened but this time the repairman said it was going to cost me $375 plus tax for new gaskets and pump plus labor. I said no way and he still charged me $109.15 for the service call, etc. I spoke with Samsung this morning and they put me through to SEVEN different people. The last one said I will hear the answer from upper management in 24 to 48 hours. I am disabled and on disability from work (60-years-old) and cannot afford all of this happening to me! I still was saving for the fridge and stove - forget that now!! This model should have been recalled! The net is FULL of people all having the same problem with the 5E error flash due to the tabs breaking off. I am so upset!!!!! :( Is there a class action suit for this problem in Canada?

I recently purchased a Samsung glass top range for our vacation home. After two uses, the glass top looks used and melted. The white painted ring on the one burner totally melted and there are rings from the pan I was using on the same burner. I cooked eggs, not really high temp, and it destroyed the top of the glass. I used one of the back burners only for that to look melted now also. I havent gone back to the store yet, but plan on doing so. Have had the stove for EIGHT weeks and used twice!

Had this refrigerator for 10 years and had problems with the freezer size. The service dept sucks!!! With Samsung, no regular appliance repair will touch it since they cannot source any spares unless you are an authorized service center. Result = lousy service!! We had the tech come in last month and after talking to some superiors over the phone half the time, said it was a thermostat issue. No spare on hand despite the fact that the symptoms were well described to the Samsung call in center over 2 calls of 30 mins each. Replaced a thermostat which he claimed was not meant for this model and guess what? Broke down in 1 month and had to call again. Despite asking for not sending the same guy again, they sent him. Fine, this time he opened out the fridge fully and claimed some more parts are defective and could not explain why this could not be determined earlier. Anyway, long story short, we went out and bought a GE fridge and decided NEVER SAMSUNG again.

I purchased the Samsung dishwasher model DMR78AHS at Lowes in May 2010. Also, I reluctantly bought the extended warranty program, but in hindsight, Im glad I did. After about a year, we started hearing a slight grinding noise. I called service and they determined that all (12) of the plastic basket clips had broken off and lodged in the motor (impeller). The service tech had to disconnect the unit, pull it out, and turn it over to remove all of the plastic tabs. Luckily, the impeller was not damaged. The tech said that this is a very common problem with Samsung dishwashers. He installed new basket clips, supposedly made out of stronger plastic, but I seriously doubt it. I am very disappointed in Samsung kitchen appliances and will not purchase from them again.

About six years ago we bought a Samsung refrigerator. At first we were quite pleased. But that was short lived. After having the refrigerator for three years we noticed water accumulating in the bottom of the refrigerator. We soaked it up only to notice ice building up from the back. We broke the ice loose and cleaned it up to notice that the water and ice returned within a few weeks. The repairman replaced a few parts and told us that all Samsung are known for many problems ranging from electrical to mechanical such as the computer board, icemaker, and cooling units. After he left, I noticed that the shelves were sagging. The shelves no longer catch in their proper slots. I thought that perhaps the repairman didnt reinstall the parts correctly, but through my own inspection noticed no discrepancy. The refrigerator sides are simply bowing out causing the shelves to shift and sag. Recently, the water dispenser has stopped working, the food at the bottom of the refrigerator is freezing, and at this point I see no further reason to call for repair. Weve had the refrigerator for about six years and it is junk. Samsung has brought credence to the phrase They dont build them like they used to. What happened to the 20-year appliance?

We purchased our first French door Samsung refrigerator in 2011 not only because Samsung was a household name and I figured would make appliances that would outlast their warranty period but I also purchased the Samsung because aesthetically they stood out in comparison to other brands. Well I was completely WRONG about the quality and durability of Samsung appliances. Our first refrigerator was still under warranty and had to be replaced in 2015 because they no longer made the parts needed to repair the 4 year old refrigerator. This four year old refrigerator would make a loud humming noise as a result of a faulty fan motor. We made a second poor decision to purchase another Samsung refrigerator thinking they would have improved upon the issues they had with their appliances, but again we were WRONG. The issues were worse, see list of faults below that started in 2016 one year after purchase:1. Massive water leak behind the water dispenser that requires placing a large towel to catch the water to prevent potential slips and/or falls from the water from pooling on the floor. 2. The ice maker only makes a cup full of ice per day even when pressing the Power freeze button. 3. The refrigerator intermittently makes a loud humming noise.See list of actions taken to address the issues our 1 year old refrigerator is having: 1. Defrosted the ice maker by keeping doors open and using a hair dryer in order to speed up the process. 2. Sealed the crack between housing of the ice maker and the refrigerator with waterproof silicone. 3. Purchase 2- 10 lb bags of ice from Buckeyes twice a week. 4. Keep refrigerator door open for extended periods of time in order to stop the humming noise (yes we had food in it at the time) and speed up the defrost process. Even after initiating our own interventions, we continue to have problems with our Samsung refrigerator making a loud intermittent humming noise, making ice, leaking large amounts of water behind the water dispenser. The reason Im taking the time out of my busy day to share with you these issues is because Im disappointed in this product and to prevent you from making the poor decision of purchasing a Samsung refrigerator. Its not worth the money. There is absolutely no reason why anyone should spend thousands of dollars on anything that is proven not to last over 5 years. When I was growing up, my mother kept the same refrigerator from the time I was 10 years old until I graduated college. Of course repairs were required but as stated earlier, this is my second Samsung refrigerator in the span of 4 years.Yes we have a warranty but this refrigerator began to have problems a year after purchase, my expectations of Samsung setting a higher standard when it comes to quality appliances has not been met. We have had to spend time troubleshooting issues on a refrigerator that cant go the 5 year distance and take time from work to have it repaired. BUY SMART BY NOT BUYING A SAMSUNG FRENCH DOOR STAINLESS STEEL REFRIGERATOR.

I purchased 4 new Samsung side by side refrigerators about 16 months ago. One by one they have failed in less than 16 months. I purchased four for an apartment complex and it was a costly mistake to say the least. After having Samsung customer service wear me down (they won that fight) I finally just gave up. I basically threw away $6,000.00. I was dumb enough to purchase Samsung without doing my homework, but Im not dumb enough to fix a pathetic product that wont last. No good money after bad here!!! So, I have given up on Samsung and going back to good old Whirlpool where I should have stayed in the first place. My problems were the same as everyone elses. Ice makers go bad, Blades rub on ice, motherboards go bad. Its amazing that with the internet the word never got out. Im just trying to do my small part to save someone else $$$.

I have been in touch with Samsung regarding my microwave since August 3, 2017. At first, they were going to send out a tech to look at it since it completely just stopped working. My microwave is less than a year old and under warranty. After three days without a call from a tech to schedule an appointment to come fix it I called Samsung back. I explained that no one has come by or called about fixing my microwave. The customer service rep said they would contact the company about coming out to repair it. I also asked for the companys number. After still not hearing from them I called the company myself. No one answered so I left a message. After another few days with no call back I called Samsung again and reported the issue. Next, the rep put me on hold and tried to contact the company with no success. That rep said they would keep trying and call me back. Finally, after more than 2 weeks without a working microwave a Samsung rep called stating that they did not have anyone that could repair it and would issue a refund. But of course, there is a catch! I had to supply a receipt that I no longer and had paid cash for the microwave so no bank record. Once I explained this they said they could still issue a refund but it would take 10 days of review and then they would send out an email to start the process for getting a refund. I am not a criminal nor am I trying to scam them. I would much rather have my microwave fixed than purchase another one. But that does not seem to be an option. I cannot understand why it would take 10 days for review. Also, the refund is going to be $37 less than what we paid. We have had other Samsung products that we have had to replace or repair. We replaced our dishwasher and our refrigerator need to be replaced. It has several issues. We will not be purchasing anymore Samsung products or recommending them! We finally just went ahead and purchased another microwave and have the Samsung sitting around waiting for the email about getting a refund. Samsung requires you to take a picture of it with the cord cut and the serial number. I get this procedure but I should not have to wait 10 days for an email in order to send this information in. It seems like a stall tactic to me. I am a service business owner and would never have a customer wait over a month for results!

Our Samsung dishwasher is three years old. The internal blower/fan has always been noisy, but we accepted it. However, both the upper and lower baskets have rusted through to the point that supports and wheel mounts have completely broken off. I contacted customer support who connected me with an official parts supplier. To replace the two baskets is a little more than $300. The exact same dishwasher is available to buy for $349 new.I think its crazy that two parts that should last much longer are almost the same price as purchasing an entire new unit. Since I now need to buy a new dishwasher, I am definitely not buying a Samsung. As I replace all my appliances, I will be researching other brands, even if they cost more. I was asked to participate in a customer survey, however the survey was to rate their employee in the call center. She was helpful and pleasant. The survey had nothing to do with the company or the product or my issue. Beyond disappointed in Samsung quality.

When we called for service the second time, Lowes informed us that the Service technician would determine whether or not the service call is covered under the warranty, this made us hesitant to keep calling on the same problem. We still have no ice and only promises from Lowes that Service Advantage would contact us. (Isnt that similar to asking the fox to check the hen house to see if any chickens are missing?) We contacted Service Advantage 8 times, repairs made 8 times, nothing worked. We were told by Lowes store manager that after 7 calls on the same problem the item would be declared a lemon. Fridge was leaking, tech came and cleaned lines. Thought it was resolved. Then we had problems with ice maker. Did some kind of service. Didnt resolve loud banging noise. (2 service calls) Had to buy brand new ice maker... another service call. Fridge started leaking again. My research concluded that the line behind back wall needs a clip. Wall has to be totally removed and line repaired... another $189. OR we can shut down fridge overnight and it will resolve. Well, that worked... for a month. Now I have the pooling of water under the produce shelf which ultimately leaks onto floor. Do I dare call the service tech again??? What else is lurking after this problem? Way too many problems with these expensive and newer appliances! Do you know if there is a class action suit regarding these appliances, and if so... Im IN!

We bought this Samsung dishwasher DMT300RFB from Best Buy 1-1/2 years ago. The water sensor keeps going out. We have fought with Samsung and their contracted service repair (Sears) and they want to charge us as much to fix it this time to replace this part for the third time as what we paid for this thing. I will never buy another Samsung product. I hope other people will heed this warning and not buy their products.

I purchased a brand new in the box Samsung over the range microwave, installed it. It worked well and was beautiful, stainless steel and black. I worked away from home off and on about two years, came back to live at home again full time. One day it said SE on the screen. I called Lowes. They wouldnt take it back. I called Samsung. They told me to call a service person at my own expense. I said, No! I explained I had barely used it and no way was I spending another $170 added to the $200-$300 it cost me initially. So basically, they sell disposable microwaves. I also own a Samsung top load washer and dryer that cost about $1800-$2000. So when these crap out, I will load them all in my truck and drop them through their nearest Samsung plate glass windows. If I wanted to purchase disposable ** in the first place, I would have done so. Kiss my **, Samsung! I tell everyone about this! Seriously, they suck!

Was beginning to think this was a pretty good refrigerator, side by side model RS263TDWP. My previous refrigerator lasted at least 12 years, was also purchased at Sears, and was a Kenmore side-by-side. My husband is an A/C Tech...he was able to figure out almost immediately that behind the panel on the refrigeration side (freezer was working perfectly throughout all this) that the evaporative fan motor had gone out. After only two years!! These units should be working without problems for at least 8 to 10 years, even in the modern days of refrigerators being built with a computer brain to run them. We bought the part, he had it in within 5 minutes (which I know is lucky for me, but most people have to pay hundreds of dollars for parts and repair, not to mention the wait time for them to actually get there). But I must mention, when he was looking on Youtube for videos to guide the repair, there were many complaints of this same thing (on the internet) happening to other Samsung refrigerators. This is a middle of the line refrigerator, not a cheap one, and I was under the impression if you pay $1,600 for a fridge that it might actually last longer than two years! Very disappointed...would NOT recommend any Samsung refrigerators, because though they are beautiful to look at, you will more than likely be sorry (if you must have one, I would recommend the extended warranty!).

I bought the dishwasher for almost $500, embarrassed that I paid that much for such a piece of junk now and thinking I had paid that much did not purchase the extended warranty. My last dishwasher was almost 20 years old when I replaced it and I was thinking I had replaced it with a much higher end model. I did not buy a Bosch or some fancy machine, nor did I buy a cheap model, just something would get the job done for a longtime. At a little less than two years, I start getting low water warnings and it shuts off and wont complete its cycle, this gets worse and worse until I cant get it to run at all. I call Samsung and they tell me it is out of warranty and for $180 they can send someone out to look at the machine but it could cost parts as well. I got it fixed by my usual guy for much less and it worked form last Oct 2013 until this February 2014 and the same low water warning is going off and the machine once again shuts off multiple times before it runs and sometimes it take a day before it will run. This is definitely a defect in design that Samsung will not acknowledge. Do not buy a Samsung dishwasher. They do no customer service, nor do they acknowledge design defects. Their warranty repair people are limited and charge an outrageous amount, because they are the only game in town just to check out your machine and do not guaranty it will be covered and they are rude and arrogant as they know they are the only ones who cover your area. Just saying will never buy another Samsung appliance nor will I go to best buy as they are the ones who sold it to me, neither stand by their products.

I do homemade cakes for family and friends, each one I try to bake in this oven falls flat. It has been tested by Best Buys technicians, and I still have the same problem. I have to go to my sisters house, because I cant bake a cake in my own oven. Not one cake that I tried to bake has risen properly in this oven. The oven is peeling and rusting on the inside and there is stains on the glass doors that will not come out. I WILL NEVER BUY A SAMSUNG APPLIANCE AGAIN!!! UNHAPPY CUSTOMER IN DALLAS.

Ticket **. My fridge stopped working under warranty and it was diagnosed as a bad compressor & Freon leak. They would fix the compressor the following week, but couldnt fix the Freon leak. So they would return with a new compressor and still not fix the issue? Yes, it was the Samsung policy. I called customer service and complained that I had a client (renter) arriving the following day. After hours on the phone, Samsung relented and offered a full refund. I went out and bought a new fridge. Now a month later, I called asking the status of the refund. They acknowledged they offered a refund, but they rescinded the refund offer stating that I refused the repair. I explained that I did not refuse the repair, I accepted the offer of the refund. After many more hours on the phone, I finally gave up. I do own 2 Samsung refrigerators, 3 televisions and just purchased a new side-by-side washer & dryer. Never again. Their new corporate mantra: Were Samsung - were here to screw with you. I am done with Samsung!

I bought a microwave, dishwasher, and range in December 2011 and have had many problems with all three appliances. The range elements do not heat evenly. The dishwasher after 9 months of calls to Samsung, they finally refunded my money (pump issues). The microwave (model number SMH9187B) started flashing 5E code 1 month before the warranty was up. It took 6 months for them to replace the micro board and now the same problem. I called and was told they have had no complaints about the micro board being affected by moisture. After reading all the complaints here, I am calling again tomorrow. I will document every call and add it to the 6 pages of notes I have already accumulated. It took two weeks to get repaired. The repairman fixed it, but it is much louder now than it was before. The repair was completed last week. Dont ever buy a Samsung fridge. We have had our French door refrigerator for about a year. It is a 2015 make and model. The freezer never shuts correctly, the ice maker sucks but today and recently over the past week it hasnt been cooling correctly even though the temp says it was okay. We unplugged it and restarted it and it gave us a more accurate reading of 50 instead of 34. After hours of trying to get it took work and numerous websites later we figured out that its not defrosting even though it is supposed to defrost itself. Come to find out this happens a lot with Samsung. We had to manually take off the back of the fridge and manually defrost it with a hairdryer. This is the WORST experience I have ever had. I will never buy Samsung again!!!

My Samsung dishwasher worked perfectly until one day it simply stopped working -- no lights, nothing. I called Samsung and was told if it was the control board it would be a warranty repair, but if it was the front panel it would not be. The authorized service repair company came and --without running any diagnostics -- replaced the front panel, and charged me about $300. The unit worked for a week, and then the same problem reappeared. They came back to do the work. Samsung said would be a warranty repair -- replace the control board -- but then after the work was completed, charged me $140 for the board anyway! After many contacts with Samsung, which agreed repeatedly that the control board was a warranty repair, I was never able to get the money refunded and Samsung failed to follow through with numerous promised phone calls. I would never buy another Samsung product after this experience (which is particularly a shame since Ive been a loyal Samsung customer for years -- phones, TVs, memory cards, etc.).

We bought a Samsung over the range microwave and paid nearly $500 for it. It worked well for a couple of years and then all of the sudden started turning on by itself. Not just the light or the turntable, but it was actually heating as well! Thankfully we were home when it started happening so we were able to prevent what Im sure would have been a major fire. Checked Samsung support site and apparently this is a known and rather common problem with their microwaves, with the only apparent fix being unplug the unit immediately and pay for someone (from your own pocket) to come and fix it. Unfortunately companies as large as Samsung have no interest in dealing with issues like this until someone dies, so recommend NOT buying a Samsung microwave unless you have fire insurance and are hardly ever home.

I bought a Samsung RF266 for ~$1,500. Within 2 years, the sensor broke and iced up and caused the fan to make noise. It was repaired, but of course, not covered under the manufacturers 5-year warranty. The repair guy told me its quite common that the sensor has issues. Having known this, I would not have purchased a Samsung fridge. It cost me about 20% of the original cost to have this fixed. As a reasonable person, I would expect issues such as this to be covered under the warranty. The warranty states, Samsung will repair or replace any part found to be defective. It also states, This limited warranty covers manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship. I think any reasonable person would expect a sensor to work for the full 5 years. And if not, that it should be covered under the above warranty statement. I called Samsung and the lady Ashley basically told me I should have gotten an extended warranty and it was not their issue that the sensor breaks frequently. Theres customer service for you. So I would definitely not buy any of their products going forward as well. Samsung, you guys are pretty dumb and have lost out way more than you would have if you just covered things like this under warranty.

We own a beautiful top of the line 4-door Samsung refrigerator which we’ve had for one year. Our ice maker began making “wet, soft ice” and the ice maker poured water into a cup whenever we made ice... Plus, the ice maker leaked into the inside of our refrigerator. When we exercised our extended warranty, we learned that this model was recalled for a faulty ice maker! Yet, Samsung never had the courtesy to send out a recall letter. Now we need to wait several weeks for the part to arrive and were told that we need to empty the refrigerator and freezer two days prior to the repair and keep it off and empty for 2 days post repair to allow the epoxy to dry! Slushy ice and at times, wed just get a handful of water. Upon research (I know, something I should have done before the purchase), I learned that it is a common problem with Samsung refrigerators/ice makers. People were told they had to empty the thing every 6 months or so, unplug it and let it defrost! Seriously?? In this day and age? The thing is supposed to be frost free. So upset with this purchase! I have had this Samsung refrigerator (model RF266AERS) for at least 10 years. It has a one touch pure water dispenser (I chose the inside dispenser) and it’s easy to change the water filter which doesn’t take up much space in the back of the fridge. It also lets you know when to change the filter. The bins are removable and the shelves are adjustable. The freezer bin holds a ton of food and I chose to have the ice machine inside the freezer which makes ice on a regular basis. It is easy to clean both inside and out. Its design is a very pretty. Called Samsung technician to repair leaking refrigerator. Every time it went into defrost mode it would leak water, a little when I first purchased it, then much worse. Refrigerator is nearly two yrs old, so is out of warranty. I am a retired Engineer, so did some reading and found the problem to be a smaller than required heat sink (Samsung calls it a drain clip). This heat sink is suppose to keep the defrost drain from frosting up. Took technician 30 minutes to replace this part with the correct size. Per tech, he gets a lot of this work. Here is my problem, should a company like Samsung be charging the consumer for their design flaw? The cost was $173, part cost was $10 dollars.Called Samsung ECR (Executive Customer Rep), explained that this was not a repair or a fix, but a correction to a design flaw. I thought Samsung would want to stand behind their product, but all she would say was that it was out of warranty. The model # RF263BEAESP/AA. There must be thousands of these out there with this known design flaw. I hope this review helps someone if they are looking for a new refrigerator. We purchased this Samsung French Door Refrigerator RF26VABWP in July of 2009 because we thought it was a superior product. Wrong! It was fine until March of this year and then to the tune of $200 we had to have the repairman defrost the fan, etc. because it was so noisy. And then I discovered the water was leaking inside the refrigerator under the crisper trays. We thought the problem was solved until May of this year when we discovered ice forming under the crisper trays. Another service call to the tune of $200. And then in July, I discovered a repeat of the same problem. Previously when I called Samsung, I was told that if it happened again, they would do something. After 10 calls and faxing information twice, I was told that nothing could be done and that refrigerators only lasted 5 to 9 years anyway. I doubt they would want to pay $200 every three months to keep their refrigerator running properly and I also doubt that they replace their own refrigerator that often. Every time you call, you have to give the model number, your name and phone number and then be referred to the executive customer service and repeat the same information. Usually there isnt a supervisor that you can talk to and so you have to call back again and go through the entire thing again. My opinion is that if you have to do this enough times, you finally give up and go away! What a poor recommendation for a company so well known!

Took him a month trying to get the thing working again. Now here I am again 8 months later and it’s broke again. A few months later, the same thing happened. Today, we are experiencing this same problem, again. This refrigerator is 4 yrs old. Apparently we arent the only ones... What can we do? To start, I will never purchase another Samsung appliance.

We purchased the Samsung DMT400RHB/XAA dishwasher in November 2012. The first three months went smooth but we had our first service call in February. Slow drainage. Then again in June we needed servicing again. Dishwasher fail to drain. We couldnt use the machine for over a week!!! Now the last straw. We had to call the technician out AGAIN!! For the dishwasher failure to drain and he indicated we needed a new drain pump. Had the machine less than 2 years but yet I need to buy a new drain pump at a price of $263.00. Ridiculous. Needless to say I wont be buying another Samsung household product.

This refrigerator is one of the best we have ever had. Being a Navy family, we are always on the move, resulting in new appliances every few years. We found early on that selling our used appliances before a move, was more cost effective than risking damage to them. Samsung refrigerators are priced well, energy efficient, as well as nice to look at. I love the french doors and freezer on the bottom. The middle drawer is the favorite feature in this house. Putting the most used items in the drawer, saves opening the doors to the top storage area so many times each day. The crisper drawer lives up to its name, keeping lettuce fresh and crispy as long as 10 days.

I purchased a French door refrigerator on August 2012 with model # RF217ACPN. Two months after I got the fridge, it started to make noise like popping and snapping, crackling and buzzing. I went to Best Buy and complained about it but they said that it was just normal. In 2014, my crisper started to collect water. I have to drain the water in the crisper every week. I Was wondering where that water came from. My fridge doesnt have any water hook up (for an ice maker or a water dispenser). Now, I got another problem. My freezer builds up ice!!! I am really disappointed that this expensive fridge doesnt work well. Not worth the money that I spent on this bad product!!!

This model (freezer on the bottom, drawer) cost $1250 three years ago. It has always had a problem with water leaking from somewhere in the back to the vegetable drawers. It has been repaired five times, but the problem keeps recurring every 4-5 months. I had to get this model because it was the only size that would fit through my door and also had the freezer on the bottom, but I would not recommend Samsung. If you buy their products, be sure to get the extended warranty. Youll need it.

They range from not starting to electronic display problems. Finally, last week in early Dec., it died right after the warranty had expired. We had a tech come and he confirmed that the motor had burnt out which would cost over $500 to repair!

June of 2014 we purchased a Samsung refrigerator model# RS261MDRS/XAA. As soon as it was delivered and installed we left for vacation for 3 months. When we returned, a corrosive stain was on the water dispenser that cannot be removed. We did not even hook up water supply so it was not caused by water. Contacted Samsung, they sent out a service tech to look at the issue. Samsung concluded it was a COSMETIC ISSUE. As of now after many calls to Samsung they stick to their conclusion. So I have a brand new damaged refrigerator caused by a defect in manufacturing. This substance is like a acid that came from above and ate the plastic insert. There is no way in this world that this issue was caused by the consumer. Where I stand now is if I call service on this issue it would be at my expense. Hands are tied on a cosmetic issue. SAMSUNG, you need to listen to the consumer instead of text book notes.

Please do your own research before buying a new refrigerator. I thought I did. I purchase a Samsung French door fridge in November of 2016. Little did I know that all Samsung French door fridges have a design defect, - ice maker freezes over, stops making ice, leaks, and, sometimes, as in my case, freezes shut so the tray cannot be gotten out. Takes an hour with a hand held steamer to thaw it. Thousands upon thousand of unlucky people have been dealing with this for the last fifteen years. My experience with Samsung customer service has been terrible. This is not what one would expect from a consumer appliance manufacturer.

Dont buy Samsung dishwashers! I bought DMR78AHS stainless steel dishwasher and it is absolutely horrible. Weve had nothing but problems. The brackets constantly break off, clogging the unit. I have to constantly rewash the dishes because they dont come clean. I have to towel dry the dishes because the machine doesnt dry like it should. I have had the water pump replaced. I have had numerous service calls to my house and thank God I had extended warranty. I didnt have to pay for it, but Im still pissed with the warranty because they took me through hell and back before they finally ruled it unfixable - and agreed to give my money back. Never again will I buy their appliances. When I talked to the rep at Lowes Home Improvement, she stated that they get a lot of complaints about the Samsung dishwashers! Buy at your own risk!

All cups and glasses will have water in the recesses. You will end up drying everything as you take it out of this dishwasher. I am very disappointed with this purchase and could not recommend it. Our refrigerator stopped working with what seemed to us a warranty item. We contacted Samsung January 25, 2016 and here are our results: waited a long time on hold, Samsung doubted it was under warranty. Samsung sent certified company to determine if under warranty, who confirmed under warranty. Though they were Samsung certified, they were not warranty work certified and they were supposed to report back to Samsung. Waited a long time on hold, Samsung said their recommended company did not report back. Waited on hold a long time, and Samsung cant schedule a warranty company to fix this for another five days. We have been without a refrigerator for over three weeks. This has not been a good experience for our family of five. We have been without a refrigerator for a long time and no confidence that this company that is supposed to fix the refrigerator will be competent.

When I called Samsung support they said its a cosmetic issue and not covered under the warranty. They said it could be caused by prolonged exposure to moisture (Ive had it for a month) or an abrasive cleaner was possibly used. The only cleaner that has been used was warm water and dish soap one time and a mixture of vinegar and water one time. Samsung refuses to stand by their product and Home Depot says the issue needs to be handled with Samsung.

I had it serviced for replacement of upper spray arm, but no improvement. Im ditching it and buying a new one after reading all of these reviews from owners with the identical complaint. It is humiliating for a guest to see those specks of food all over the glasses and dishes. I always scrub my dishes down - the food specks are coming from the water in the dishwasher somehow. We bought this at HHGregg in June 2015 for $2000. Thought it would be our last refrigerator. No such luck! Nine months after buying it, it started making loud noises and freezing up inside the back wall. For all practical purposes, their customer service is non existent! Got passed from one to the other, asking the same questions over and over, like the model #, serial #, etc. Asked irrelevant things like how many Samsung products we owned. Then said it probably wasnt level and to look under it! Totally insane! Got nowhere so called the store that sold it to us and they finally got in touch with a rep who set up the repair. Thought that was the end of it but three months later, around July 1st this year, the clanging noise returned and it wasnt cooling properly! Same problem with icing and fan. Now it is one month out of warranty! Called previous repair company and they couldnt come for over two weeks! Tried Angies List and Home Advisor. Got call backs but they stated outright that they wouldnt work on Samsung appliances because of shoddy workmanship and numerous problems! Finally got someone to look at it. He tested it and said two motherboards were burnt out, along with needing new fan, thermostats (plural), etc. Said parts come from overseas and could take months and it would be over $1000 to fix, with no guarantee it would last! We cant go without a refrigerator so ended up junking it and buying a new one. Not Samsung! Never again! So for 13 months, we had a pretty appliance that doesnt work! These obviously should have been recalled! Were back to the top freezer model, recommended by the repairman and this time bought a 4 year warranty. Its disgusting that they can sell such junk and are not stopped! It was an expensive $2100 mistake!

We purchased a package deal on 4 Samsung appliances in the summer of 2016. It was suggested that to update our kitchen for potentially selling it that new appliances are a must. The units that we purchased from HHGregg are VERY disappointing. The dishwasher DW80J3020US is very quiet, which is nice, but since there is no latch to lock the door, occasionally we open it mid-cycle forgetting it is on. There is no way to continue the cycle; it has to start completely over. We contacted customer service asking about this and they confirmed this. That is poor design. For the microwave model ME16H702SEB, you cant cook something and use the timer at the same time. It may seem like a small thing, but it is very inconvenient. Again, poor design. We are extremely disappointed in the quality of these units and the lack of attention to detail. They are cheaply designed. Stay away from them.

I purchased a Samsung dishwasher in 9/2012 model # DMT400RHW/XAA from Sears. From day 1 the dishwasher would not wash my dishes very good. It would leave spots on glasses, utensils, & a white substance on plates, bowls, etc. I contacted Sears after the tub in the dishwasher was holding water & the dishwasher would shut off with the delicate blue light flashing. Sears advised me to contact Samsung Repair. This is when the dissatisfied consumer turned into Angry Consumer. I contacted Samsung Repair & they told me that I was assigned to a repair company to come out & fix the dishwasher (under warranty) at No Charge, but when I contacted repair appliance company, she advised me that I would have to pay for it to be repair. Then I contacted Samsung repair & told them what the repair company said so she then assigned me to another repair appliance company, but they wanted me to pay for the mileage for them to come out & fix the dishwasher. Again, I had to contact Samsung Repair about the mileage problem. After several calls to Samsung Repair, she put me on hold & came back & said her manager said they would pay for the mileage. The repair appliance coming assigned would never answer my phone calls or messages I left more than 4 times. They would call me at inconvenient times when I was driving & could not pick up the phone, but I would pull over & call back & the repair company again would not pickup my calls or return my messages I had left & the next day Samsung Repair department closed the repair order, without contacting me to let me know they were going to close out the repair order or to find out why from me that I could not get in touch with the repair company. I called the Executive Customer Relations department spoke to Keya & she advised me that the dishwasher would be repaired at No Charge. Samsung has very poor customer service, you purchase the product expecting the product to last a while, however, after having it for only 4 months, there are problems. I am not happy with the after purchase customer care, they are not interested in resolving your issues. I was a big fan of Samsung simply because Ive always had numerous Samsung phones, after this issue, I cancelled my phone and purchased an iPhone. After contacting the customer service center so many times and remaining on hold, being transferred numerous times, having to repeat myself over and over again like a broken record, I gave up. The display does not work, I have to unplug the refrigerator constantly to reboot it so the dispenser can operate properly. I finally got my dream house in 2012, so I was excited to be able to buy all new, top of the line kitchen appliances! My husband told the salesman that he loves bells and whistles and that was the wrong thing to say! However, our excitement was short lived when each appliance started having problems. First was the dishwasher, next the refrigerator, then the range, and last of all the over the stove microwave. This all started just as soon as the one year warranty ran out.The smooth top, convection range causes me to burn food due to its constantly increasing temperature to high, no matter what its set on. The fan in the convection oven rattles. The icemaker of the 4 door French door fridge stopped working. The dishwasher throws out numerous error codes and stops working. The microwave constantly blows light bulbs and it starts running every time you open the door. We paid a small fortune to get these beautiful appliances for our fabulous new kitchen and wouldnt complain if we had bought them for looks only!
