Product Reviews:

Late on the evening of Monday, January 27, 2014, after springing a leak in
Late on the evening of Monday, January 27, 2014, after springing a leak in my 8-year-old water heater, I purchased a new Whirlpool model N50T61 replacement from Lowes. Installation went smoothly and the unit lit off fine the first time. It heated the initial tank of water rather quickly, but the next morning, I noticed the status light on the control unit was not blinking, which indicated the pilot light had gone out. I relit the pilot light, the water heater fired off and appeared to be working properly. 12 hours later, the status light was out again. I relit the pilot, but within 20 minutes, it went out again. On Wednesday, the 29th, I called Whirlpool customer service and explained to the representative what had been happening. He stated that since the status light was not blinking a code, the problem was either an air supply or venting problem, and he couldnt help me. I relit the water heater again and performed the match smoke test described in the owners manual on the vent connection. It did exactly what the manual said it should do, so I assumed that was not the problem. However, while performing this test, the water heater went out again. This time, being right there when it shut off, I saw the status light blink twice about 5 or 6 times before it quit blinking all together. The two blink error code indicated low millivolt signal from thermopile.I called customer service again and explained to the representative what the first person had told me and also told him the results of my test and that this time, I had observed the two blink error code. He asked if I had a multimeter (which I do), so he had me disconnect the wires for the thermopile, connect the meter to the wires, light the pilot and read the voltage. My meter is an old analog unit, and not capable of reading millivolts (which is what the thermopile output is), and I informed the rep of this, but he had me do it anyway. As I suspected, I saw absolutely no reading on the meter. The service rep stated that he believed the error code and decided to send me a new thermopile assembly. However, their shipping department was closed for the day and I should not expect to see the new part until Friday. This was unacceptable, but he stated that this was the only option available to me.After thinking about this situation for a while, I again called Whirlpool customer service and told the representative that I was not satisfied with the solution previously presented to me and that I wanted a return authorization to take the water heater back to Lowes for replacement. The rep stated he couldnt do that, but said that there were a couple other things I could try. He attempted to explain these procedures to me, but wasnt able to do so clearly. He stated he would email the instructions to me. As of this writing, I still have not received the instructions. In the meantime, I did some internet research and found that Whirlpool water heaters have numerous chronic problems, including the issues I was experiencing. I decided this was not a product I cared to own. I called the Lowes store where I purchased the water heater and spoke with the manager. I explained the entire sequence of events to him, and he told me to bring the water heater back for a full refund. Since my local Lowes store only sells the Whirlpool brand, I took the money and purchased a different brand of water heater from another home improvement store. Needless to say, it will be a cold day in hell before I ever purchase another Whirlpool product.

Purchased a Whirlpool double oven (WGE745COFH) in September 2018. It is now May 2019. After 5 service technicians verified the erratic temperature fluctuations in the ovens, Whirlpool insists that a +25 degree to -25 degree fluctuation in a heating cycle is normal. The motherboard was changed 3 times, and the sensors were changed 3 times, including hard-wiring the last set of sensors. I called Whirlpool and customer service says that is normal. Ever tried baking at a 350 degree setting that fluctuates from 375 degrees down to 312 degrees while trying to maintain a 350 degree setting? I understand there has to be some fluctuation, but either it took a lot of extra time or burned my food consistently. Ridiculous. So, with the help of wonderful people at Lowes (where I purchased the double oven) Whirlpool is refunding my money and Lowes has taken back the slide-in double oven. In my quest to replace it, multiple appliance sellers have told me that all the new ovens having motherboards and sensors have big fluctuations in the oven heating cycles. I find that unacceptable. My husband and other family members have worked daily in an industry where temperatures were critical. They used ovens that could maintain temperature within 5 degrees of set temperature with analog controls. The home consumers are being ripped off with cheap, sub-standard parts making throw away appliances and getting away with it. What do I buy? Havent figured that out yet, but have purchased a countertop toaster oven that bakes beautifully.

When I grew up, my mom and dad had a Whirlpool dishwasher and it was the ONLY dishwasher we EVER had. The SAME one, for over 20 years! So, with confidence, I purchased a mid-range unit. (over $600 2015). By 2016, ONE year later, I was already buying replacement parts because the top rack was falling apart and the bottom spinner broke as well. The parts were extremely expensive and hard to find. Now, a mere 4 years later, you cannot find ANY parts for this machine and there are so many issues with the unit. It is no longer functioning. When it did work it ran for 4 HOURS!! Even then, the dishes are filthy. I am so upset by whirlpool. I want a full refund from the company for treating their loyal customer so badly.

Rust started forming early on our washer and spread quickly. Our house is air conditioned and not near the ocean. There was no reason for the rust. Poor quality finishing is the only explanation. When I called to complain I got nowhere. I wish I could show a photo on this website. It would dissuade anyone from ever buying a whirlpool.

I have a Whirlpool refrigerator from 2017 that is causing so many issues and finally completely broken after spending $500 on repairs. 4 months ago, refrigerator was making loud noise and freezer wasnt working. Then within a week the whole unit stopped working. Then, freezer got all frosty and the whole unit got shut off. 2 month later, the ice maker stopped working and nothing is working now. I called the Whirlpool and they offered me to purchase extended warranty for $530. I could not believe they wanted me to spend another $530 on this refrigerator after spending all this money on repairs and still useless. I refused to buy any more Whirlpool product that I used to love in the past. I am just so disappointed with the customer service as the supervisor from Whirlpool said that is why they offer extended warranty. $2000 refrigerator to last me 3 years???? Not doing this again.

I purchased a water heater in 2011 and have had the thermostat replaced at least 5 times! Now, not only does the heater not heat the water, but it has rusted through and ruined my floors! They say they will replace the thermostat (oh yeah, yet another one!) but what about the crappy thing in the closet. I will NEVER buy anything that says Whirlpool on it. They dont stand behind their product and have made no efforts to correct the issue. There has to be a lemon law clause that would be applicable in here somewhere.

My Cabrio is only 4 years old and it stop working properly. I call a service technicians to repair it and after aol $45 service charge level, he tells me that it has a Motor capacitor defect at a cost of $360 to repair. So I have paid useless piece of junk. I out and purchased another washer only $150 more than the repair. I will never buy a Whirlpool product again. My last washer a Maytag (before Whirlpool bought them out) lasted over 20 years. So if you do not want to buy a new $600 washer every 4 years. Stay clear of Whirlpool.

Free-standing electric range Model WFE524CLBS0 - When burners are OFF but oven is ON, stovetop becomes unbearably hot. Had a service call. We got our Whirlpool french door refrigerator with freezer on the bottom (Model: GX5FHDXVY04) in June 2010. In the past six months, the refrigerator portion loses cooling and temperatures go to the 60s or 70s. We found out that by turning the unit off until it defrosts, it will work again for awhile. Weve had water overflow on our wood floor. When this happened the third time, I called Whirlpool to send a repair person. The person I talked to said it could be over $400 to repair and that it would be more economical to get an extended warranty for about $314, which I did. I did not receive the contract via email (it may have gotten lost in spam). The repair man came and said yes, this was a common problem due to a design flaw and that it needed a $6 part to make the water drain smaller - so that too much air didnt get in.It was May 1st before the repair could return to install it. This was done and we thought - expensive but its taken care of. Today, May 5th, the same problem happened and I have to throw away food again. Its the weekend and there is not a repair person available for two weeks - I got an order number and may request that the repair come sooner. To add insult to injury, I found out that the extended warranty is good only up to $450 and not good for any repair that might be needed in a year. Most of the repair goes to travel to get to Fairfield and labor and we have used most of the warranty already.

After 1 yr. microwave stopped heating. Now my fridge is no longer cooling. Have cleaned it underneath, did all a normal person would do. I replaced my microwave last year with a Maytag. I’m sure I will have to replace the fridge very soon. My stove is a Maytag. Dishwasher a Frigidaire... have had no problem. Just the Whirlpools… Will never buy another Whirlpool. Not just me, my niece bought a microwave. Her stopped heating after one year.

I have been extremely dissatisfied with the Whirlpool Cabrio washing machine!!! I tried to take it back and Lowes would not let me return it because I had had it for 6 months. It doesnt put enough water in the machine to get all of the clothes wet. It doesnt get the clothes clean and it leaves some kind of lint residue all over dark clothes. I am only able to put in 1/4 of the clothes I put in my Maytag washer which I loved, but it wore out. I am also short and it is so deep I have to use a stool to get up on to reach into so i can reach the bottom of the machine. Even though it is a huge tub, I can only put a few pieces of clothes in it to get it to clean the clothes. It is a very poor design and needs to be recalled!

My Whirlpool Cabrio Washer is less than one year old and quit working. Sears was supposed to come out and fix it (I even have the extended warranty till 2014). Service never showed up; when we called, they told us we had been rescheduled. Here it is the rescheduled day time slot and they still have not arrived. Im getting the runaround from them and I am supposed to be grateful because they gave me a $75 gift card for my inconvenience. Im on hold with Whirlpool because I just want them to take the washer back. I have been told by Sears since it is over 90 days, they cannot refund my money. I just have to wait for a repair which may or may not happen since they may not have the parts. This is unsatisfactory service from both Sears and Whirlpool. I have always bought my appliances through Sears and they have always been Whirlpool. I wish I would have read all these reviews before I purchased this model.

We purchased a Cabrio top loading washer WTW6400SW2 and 2 Cabrio Dryers WGD
We purchased a Cabrio top loading washer WTW6400SW2 and 2 Cabrio Dryers WGD6200SW1 (one for our cabin) in 2007. Since day one the washer tied clothes in knots, never cleaned the clothes properly, and went out of balance several times each load. We purchased from Best Buy who did their best to service the dryer (black, rusted vents replaced inside dryer). But as for the washing machine, we were told there was nothing they could do. The repairmen stated Whirlpool was aware of this issue and doing nothing. When I called Whirlpool, they said no repairs were logged for the washer. No, of course not. The repairmen said there was nothing they could do! This went on and on until our machines went out of warranty. Now Whirlpool happily tells us with glee in their voice that its out of warranty and there is nothing they can do. They know there is nothing they can do. The design is faulty! The line needs to be pulled out of manufacturing! Whirlpool did say they would log a customer complaint on the design. Right. Im sure they dont have any of those yet. Whirlpool is defrauding the consumer with products they know are defective. Please people, do not purchase any Whirlpool products. Put them out of business where they belong.

Although the contact said that he knew I was frustrated, he could do nothing but send a repairman at a cost of $129 for me and then I would also have to pay for parts. I informed him that the online sites are saying that this is just a temporary fix. He pleaded ignorance and could offer me no other alternative. I purchased a new Whirlpool 29 cubic ft. french door bottom freezer Refrigerator 11-22-2013. On 4-18-2014, I noticed water on the floor and realized my ice maker had quit working and the ice melted. I called Stantons APL. where I purchased it from and a service tech came on 4-22-2014. He checked the fridge out and after five mins said this is a model that has a known defect in it and it would have to be totally rebuilt. I then called Whirlpool and told them I want a new Refrigerator. I told them I paid for a new appliance, not a rebuilt one. The Whirlpool rep said they would need a second opinion and scheduled a different company to come out for service. This happened on 4-25-2014 which by this time I lost all my food in ref and freezer. He was there about ten mins. and said its gone out and it will have to be totally rebuilt. He calls Whirlpool tech support to help him figure out how to take out bottom door because he didnt know how. WHIRLPOOL tells the tech they want him to tear my refrigerator apart and run diag. test on it to see how it performs under certain codes. I tell Whirlpool they can run all the test they want after they replace my refrigerator and my food. The Whirlpool rep says, That aint happening. So I say, Then I need to talk to your supervisor. After going through four supervisors, I finally get to the person who reluctantly agrees to replace the refrigerator and says give her 24 to 48 hours to make it happen. 60 hours, still waiting on a response. Will let you know what happens. Shame on you Whirlpool for deceiving the public.

I am following up on a review I submitted on April 22, 2015 about a Whirlpool refrigerator with french doors and bottom refrigerator. At the time, paint was falling off from the door as pictured in the previous review. This another chapter on this story and probably the closing chapter. A few months after the paint event which I could have lived for a while, the right door hinge literally disintegrated leaving the door without support. The door seals material is of such poor quality that they have disintegrated and the water condenses inside. The bottom photo shows hinge components that came off the door hinge on the kitchen floor. The second photo from the bottom up photo shows how the door scraped the plastic of the freezer door top trim if the door is not lifted to clear it. The second photo from top to bottom shows the door over the hinge pin if I am not careful lifting the door to clear the freezer door. The first photo from top to bottom shows how the door remains open if not lifted so that the door magnetic seal keeps it in place. It is very hard for me to believe that a country like the United States of America treats its customers with no respect. I met my obligation to pay the amount on the price tag of this appliance but I cannot say that Whirlpool did its part of providing a basic quality product. There is no consumer protection agency in this country to protect consumers from corporate predators that have no sense of a fair deal with a customer. So here we are, being abused by United Corporations of America. I hope the future brings a different understanding of the american people on these matters. Thank you for the opportunity to express myself on this matter. Next step... buy a foreign made appliance that will support another country work force... sounds familiar.

I had purchased fully automatic top loaded WHIRLPOOL WM 360 BW PRO-HS 9.5 on 08/05/2019. I had purchased the above machine after going through the various claims made on the website. However, I regret to say that since installation I find that the performance of the machine is not up to my satisfaction. Even after two visits by the engineer, the following issues remain:(i) The machine makes lot of noise in the initial stage.(ii) Though the timer shows a particular time during selection of a washing cycle, in reality the machine takes one and half times more than the timing shown. In case one selects warm / hot water, the actual time taken is twice that shown or more. I am sure in winters it will take more time in case warm / hot water is selected.(iii) The clothes get badly entangled during wash.In the past I had a LG front loading washing machine which never gave me any problem. I had gone for the best top loading model of Whirlpool hoping for better performance but it has only caused problems. Not worth the expenditure.

I have a model ED20PK. The doors are rusting on the outside. This refrigerator was purchased by my husband who has passed, I do not have the receipt and I dont know where he purchased it. The refrigerator worked perfect. It has been in my kitchen from day of purchase. My home is adequately heated in winter and air conditioned in the summer. I have an up-scale home. I dont see any reason to replace the refrigerator, but I cannot stand the deteriorating condition of the doors. If I replace it, I will not buy a Whirlpool or any brand made by Whirlpool. The rust is not just a discoloration, it is actually rough to the touch and is getting worse day by day. If you have any answers or help I would appreciate a phone call. I am not really in an economic position to just go and buy a new refrigerator.

The refrigerator has excellent quality, low noise level, clean lines and enough room for produce and frozen foods. Would recommend this to friends. This replaces a Whirlpool refrigerator that was over 30 years old. The original unit still works extremely well and we gave it to a family that needed a refrigerator and they were very happy to receive it. It looked as new as the day I purchased it 30 years ago.

On July 19, I was forced to buy a new washer. Bought a Frigidaire which, when connected to the water supply, started immediately dumping water into the drum. Sent this defective washer back to the retailer and chose a new Whirlpool. O-M-I-G-O-S-H! It was delivered on 25 July and despite having 4 temperature settings, it only worked on either hot or cold AND you could never tell what temperature was going to be chosen by this computerized wonder. I repeatedly called Customer Support and received three different answers on what temperature was considered warm. The answers ranged from 65 to 102 degrees. Also, you could open the lid when the water was running in, which washers are no longer supposed to do. Whirlpool then arranged for A & D Service to come and repair my NEW washer and scheduled an appointment for a week later. I was forced to call that company to find out if they were even coming. When they did not show as promised, I cancelled the appointment and called Whirlpool to ask for another service company. They then scheduled me for two weeks later (now August 30th). The guy did come and told me there was user error - I had used too much soap as this was an HE washer. I asked him to show me where on the appliance and in the owners manual that it stated the washer was an HE. He couldnt find it either and said he would replace the computer and the door lock because his computer found that the washer was hit and miss on anything it was set on. At any rate, it is a little over a week later and I have heard nothing from the repairman and, of course, no follow-up from Whirlpool. Do not make the mistake of buying any Whirlpool product, and that now encompasses names such as Maytag, Amana, Jenn-Air, Kitchen-Aid and many more if you want to be assured of a quality product and excellent customer service. What if this had been a refrigerator? The whole debacle has been a nightmare. Wish I had bought a GE!

We had the Whirlpool Cabrio Washer [WWT5640xw0] for approximately six months and it began to behave strangely, very much like the other complaints I have read on this site. It works poorly, does not clean the clothes, there is a smell that is coming from the machine and it makes loud, inappropriate noises. It stops spinning and washing in the middle of a cycle. Before I become aware of the issue, I would find loads of clothes sitting in the water and the machine indicated the cycle was completed. What a piece of junk! We cannot afford to go out and get another washer at this time and based on what everyone else is saying, the cost of repairs is very costly. I too called the company and was greeted with indifference. I too will not purchase another Whirlpool product and have spread the news to my friends about this worthless product and manufacturer! My message to this company: Whirlpool, the right thing to do is recall the machine and provide us with a voucher so we might go and purchase another machine from any manufacturer we wish. But we all know that will not happen as the company is clearly saying to its customer base, Our sales and profits are more important to us than you and your satisfaction!

We've had a of Whirlpool washer and dryer for well over 8 years now. The only thing we've had done to it during that time was to give it a "tune up". That was done by a friend and only took a half hour or so. I don't know exactly what he did to it but the "tune up" didn't require any parts. In fact, when my friend was finished with his version of a tune up, it was as if it were turbo-charged and our clothes came out cleaner than ever. The washer runs quietly, as far as washers go, and the capacity, washing options, etc. are perfect for a washer that gets a ton of usage.

My wife and I purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio washer 1 year and 4 months ago. Its just three of us in the house. We never overload the washer. Now the drum bearings in the washer have gone bad. I feel that a washer should last longer than 1 year and 4 months. I signed up for the Whirlpool Repair Plus 1 Service Plan which is supposed to cover repair plus 1 year additional warranty. I was told that it would cost more than $1000 to repair so they would only return service plan cost. Whirlpool used to have a dependable product and dependable service. I dont think I will be buying another Whirlpool.

It started making a lot of noise it seem to be coming from freezer. Called Whirlpool, they said to clean coils. We wanted a repair company to come out. They set an appointment for next Tuesday between 12pm and 5pm. Said ok.Was making so much noise, and no longer freezing everything so call said company. Lady was very rude, and said they would not be out on Tuesday but sometime the following week. This would not work for us so called another repair shop, said they would be out. They were here before 6pm. Found out that they have been having this problem, had same type of call already this week. Repair for this problem would be over $1100.00. No thank you! I had to defrost the unit for a day and he returned with the kit. Part number is W10309238. The repairman believes they will be doing a recall and fix these drains. I called Costco and they contacted Whirlpool who sent out a service person on October 25. I am still without a working refrigerator and it is November 9, 2017 as I am told that a circuit board needs to be located.I have called both Costco and Whirlpool and no one seems to be worried about it. I was told by Whirlpool that if a part is not available by end of day Friday November 10 that I will be considered for a replacement. Considered really? I have never experienced such deplorable customer service on both Costco and Whirlpools part. It appears that this model is a lemon as there are large numbers of complaints on numerous websites. I asked for a refund due to the bad reviews and lack of parts and was denied. I will call on Friday for an update.

Whirlpool Cabrio Platinum WTW8800 model - In the words of the service technician who came out finally to service the machine. This machine is a piece of crap that should be recalled from the market. It is a low level-water unit that has no agitator ability in it and does not provide enough water to even slightly clean clothes. Everything must be sorted into the smallest loads possible and even then the clothes dont clean because they beehive into a ball and do not agitate. Technician says the machine cannot be fixed and simply recommends it be trashed (it is 1 1/2 years old). Technician recommends going back to front loaders where at least the clothes agitate. Called Whirlpool for help and was told all system are down...duhhhh. Call back in an hour and Good Luck.

Seems like Im always shuffling things around. I truly believe that Whirlpool made the condensation tray underneath the unit out of cardboard. Bought Sep. 2012. April 2016 stopped cooling. Four visits over 4 weeks, various parts replaced, coolant refilled. Stopped cooling again soon after first 3 visits. After 4th visit cooled moderately (42 degrees) for 5 weeks. June 24, renewed service contract for 1 year for $112. July 12, stopped cooling! Took 8 days for service person to arrive; 5 days for him to tell Whirlpool that repair needed 5 parts, one of which is no longer made! But they sold me a service contract?? 16 days after initial call, Whirlpool says my case is in adjudication, which will take 7-10 business days. So I wont know what they are offering till Aug. 8th-11th. Four weeks living out of a cooler. The product is rotten, and the service is worse.Just recently discovered that all this time when I thought I was talking to Whirlpool, it was actually sub-contracted to AIG. Yes, the AIG that needed a massive government bail-out. Whirlpool customer service refused to talk to me; referred me back to AIG. The only other all-refrigerator (no freezer - I have a 20-year-old Sears freezer in the kitchen that works just fine) I can find is an inch too tall for the space. But I plan to spend for my handyman to raise the cupboard floor above, rather than buy another Whirlpool! Most of May, four weeks in July/Aug without a fridge. Hours on hold. The first service firm they used was incompetent, couldnt find the cause. I wonder how much of my $1,353 purchase cost, and my $112 service contract theyll refund?

Their water heater is the worst ever! I will never buy another Whirlpool product. We purchased our water heater on January 17, 2010. We had to have the entire electronic system replaced in August 2011, including the lower element, control unit, thermisol, and electronic. Now, just a few short months later, the system is not working again, plus, the containment unit failed, flooding our basement. When we called Whirlpool, we were treated callously and rudely. Now, we have to pay to have the old unit removed, and a new one installed (they told us to throw it in our trunk and return it to Lowes, as if). Why did we pay to have this warranty when both the product, and the warranty are junk? Never, ever again! While Im at it, I should add that our range, and refrigerator are also made by Whirlpool, and those too, are pieces of junk. I guess were bucking up, and scheduling a new installation. If there are any further problems, I will be contacting an attorney.

But before the burner went out, I could see the flame go from blue to yellow and hear the water dripping down on the burner. So, after the burner goes out, the water would drip down on the pilot light putting it out. They sent me a thermo coupling for free but that was never the problem. The problem is that the water heaters are poorly insulated which causes the water to drip down on the pilot, putting it out. To make a long story short, no part they send will fix these heaters. I have a GE heater in my house for 20 plus years and it is still kicking. I should have went back with that same heater. For some good news, I got my money back from Lowes. We have had a Whirlpool dishwasher for about 2.5 years and have been happy
We have had a Whirlpool dishwasher for about 2.5 years and have been happy with how it cleans dishes. About a year ago we replaced our counter top and in the process had to adjust the bend in the mountain brackets that attach the dishwasher to the underside of the counter. This requires flexing the thin piece of aluminum at the perforated line. In the process, one of the brackets snapped. The other was barely still intact and broke several months later. I tried jerry-rigging them, but eventually decided to replace them and called Whirlpool customer service to ask for replacement parts.Unfortunately, Whirlpool wanted to charge me $10.50 apiece and another $9.00 for shipping and handling. These parts could not cost more than a few cents apiece. I was shocked that they would charge me $30.00 to replace these flawed parts. Never have I had such and experience with any customer service department. The three people I spoke with were all rude and unapologetic about my situation. Two blamed it on the install...Ive installed plenty of dishwashers and never had any problems in the past. Even if it was a failure on my behalf, the simple replacement of the parts for a reasonable charge would have been fine by me. I told them Id be happy to pay a few dollars and to pay the full shipping fee (which was also high, in my opinion), but they refused to meet me halfway. I can only think that this is part of their business plan...make dishwashers with sub-par parts, and then over charge for the replacement parts when they fail. Well, I re-upped my jerry-rigging efforts and have improved the engineering of the faulty part. Save my $30. But Whirlpool will never again get my business and Ill be sure to steer clients and friends away from this brand as well.

We purchased the Cabrio Washer and Dryer from Lowes during a Black Friday sale, November 2016. The items were delivered when we closed on a new home. Thus, we didnt start using the washer and dryer until 3 months after purchase. One month after usage we had our first service call. To the point, what the other reviews say are the exact experience that we are having. Unfortunately, we did not do our research before buying. The washer: Clothes come out wrinkled, littered with lint, and the wash cycles are excessively long. The dryer: Clothes take a long time to dry, and most times we run the dry cycle twice because, after the first cycle, the clothes are still damp.Even though the washer and dryer can accommodate larger loads, we are forced to break out the laundry into smaller loads to get better results. Still, doing the laundry is negative experience with the Cabrio. Recently, it took nine hours to fully complete 5 loads of wash. That included the dryer cycle. The repairman said that he is well familiar with the issue. It is the new technology. The software is incredibly sensitive and can fault easily. This leads to another negative feature. The software is restrictive leaving the user with little control over how they want the wash and dry cycles to perform.Going back to the conversation we had with the repairman. He said he had a Whirlpool washer and dryer at home that was over 10 years old. The old fashion kind with the dials and less complicated technology; and he has never had an issue. I have to agree with that. Our second home has the Whirlpool Duet (washer and dryer) that are 13 years old. Never had a problem technically and with washing and drying clothing. We plan to try to contact Whirlpool about their return policy. Not a quality product. Definitely cannot recommend this washer and dryer. We truly purchased junk.

We purchased a 4.8 Cu FT High Efficiency Front Load Washer in February of 2016. What a nightmare. Just a few months after having it, we kept getting an E3 error message that would not go away. After 2 weeks of waiting before a tech could come out there replaced a door mechanism said it would be fine. After the next wash same thing, same problem. Could not even open the door to get my laundry out. Again they could not get a tech out for at least 2 weeks so Im stuck with the cost of getting my laundry done elsewhere. This time it was the motherboard. Had to wait a week for that to be shipped out. This was all completed in June 2016. We are now the beginning of September and same problem. Again we are told at least 1-2 weeks to get a tech out. Seriously Whirlpool, we are your customer. I have a family and we need to wash our clothes. We spent $1200 on this machine only to have to take our laundry to a public laundry mat because your machine keeps breaking down. They will not replace the machine even though this is the 3rd time with the same problem. The customer service is horrible. They are not willing to help in any way to get this fixed much sooner for her or give us a new machine. This one is obviously a lemon! BTW I may have used the convection function maybe once per month over the past 3 years ... So its not like I over used the oven.

I am very sorry I bought this machine. CU rated it pretty good. Nope. 1 - It rarely dries everything completely. e.g., the collars of t-shirts or turtleneck shirts are damp after the load is finished. I have to run the machine again....Energy efficient? Energy schmefficient. and I havent even TRIED to use the low heat delicate cycle. 2 - The cute modern buttons are hard to push in. 3 - The top of the machine doesnt have a level lid... Its curved. Not very useful for setting anything on while you work at any part of your laundering process.

I purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio top loading machine approx 3 yrs. ago. When I first bought it, the machine was super quiet... loved it. I loved the capacity of it. About a yr ago I noticed it started making all kinds of noise, we cant have a conversation downstairs because its so loud. Turns out the bearings are broken. The technician was nice enough to explain to me that its a common problem with those machines. However, Whirlpool is not willing to stand by their product and repair it free of charge. Any other product would of been recalled and repaired. That goes for cars, baby products, and so on. But not Whirlpool, I called and spoke to Andrea in Michigan who told me that there is nothing that they are willing to do. After reading the other reviews and their terrible one star average rating it doesnt surprise me. Shame on me for not researching this product before buying. I hope this saves someone else from making the same mistake. In case your wondering, it cost me $117.00 to have the tech look at the machine. The labor would of cost $125.00 and the part is $251.00........

I purchased a Whirlpool French door refrigerator (model #WRF736SDAW12) with the bottom freezer last year. From the day it was delivered, its been broken. It was pouring so much water from the top panel, it would run over the top shelf and fill the shelves below. This was not a small drip. From the beginning, I was calling and requesting a new refrigerator this one was obviously defective. Whirlpool insisted on sending repairmen over and over and over again. I kept calling. I did not want this refrigerator. What if they finally fix the water problem and down the road, it has an electrical problem because of the amount of water it was internally leaking? Well, guess what? Not even twelve months in, theres an ELECTRICAL FIRE in the refrigerator! Thank goodness it was contained within a metal box within the fridge. It otherwise could have burned my house down. The refrigerator has finally been deemed irreparable. So for almost $300, Whirlpool will send a new refrigerator. Am I crazy? Theyre going to charge me more money? Its for depreciation, they said. Ive used the refrigerator for a year. I said it was broken when it was delivered. I requested a new one then. Theyre the ones who kept replacing parts. Now Im supposed to pay more money for a product that I paid full price for? I was told I have 14 days to accept their offer. WORST, customer experience, EVER! Thats what their customer service line is called – customer experience line. Sheesh!

I purchased a washer Type: 587-08, MOD: 1CWTW48004QO, Serial # C21920164 about two years ago. The appearance of the machine is in an excellent condition but its not working. The tub inside is slanted and makes a loud banging sound when rinsing. It is no longer in warranty. All my appliances are Whirlpool brand because my mom has items that are still 15years and over. This machine that I purchased did not even give me a quarter of that. The prices of these items are expensive and increasing all the time but the quality, durability and lifetime is diminishing at a faster rate. I am worried about all the other items I purchased: dryer, refrigerator, stove and microwave. I am most dissatisfied. I STRONGLY believe that this unfair and unlawful....I work hard and save up to buy these items to only get two years from it......Whirlpool please render some assistance!!!

I have had 6 months of absolute HELL working with Whirlpool. I mistakenly purchased a Whirlpool Refrigerator from Home Depot and the moment I did Home Depot were hands off. Sadly my brand new refrigerator didnt work from the moment it arrived. The ice machine was dripping inside from the back making all the ice freeze together and created an ice sheet below the ice box that can be taken out. There also was water dripping out of the ice output. The water output wasnt working and the water was literally trickling out when you pushed for water.SO Whirlpool took 6 weeks to send their 1st technician from L.A.R Services out of Boston and the guy turned up and said it was due to needing a new ice tray/machine and our sink having an old filter. There was NO filter on the sink! And he then ordered an ice machine that arrived at their office in 4 weeks but they took 3 weeks to try to deliver it. When they finally came out they called to say they had to turn around because the road was blocked- there are 3 ways to get to our home....so I had to chase for 2 more weeks to get them to come back out. When they arrived they handed me the ice tray outside and drove off!!!SO WE TRIED AGAIN and this time had Home Depot call Whirlpool to get a service person in to fix it. We had to wait another 5 weeks and when he finally came he claimed our issue was due to the fridge not being perfectly level. Well, guess what, its now level and the ice is still freezing into giant blocks, some weird plastic strap is hanging inside the ice box and the water is still trickling out.Ive called the service guy 3 times and he is yet to call back and right now Im on hold with Whirlpool (its been 14 mins so far). NEVER AGAIN will I buy anything WHIRLPOOL and I will be sharing this experience in every consumer space possible so no one has to go through what we have. Our new fridge is still broken after 6 months!! All I want is my GE fridge again and I should have a followed the reviews.

I hate hate hate this Whirlpool Washer WTW5000DW1! To put it nicely. This is my first washer without traditional agitator and the sensing feature. I will never again buy a High Efficiency Washer with these features. It constantly gets stuck on sensing! We rearrange the load over and over and it still does not want to work. I have researched the online videos and this is a common problem. I wish I had researched prior to buying this type of machine.

I bought a new home from Pulte recently. All of the kitchen appliances were Whirlpool which came with a 1 year warranty. I have had problems with 2 out of the three that were installed. The oven had a faulty control panel. I am still waiting for the replacement from Whirlpool which I am told could be months getting there. The dishwasher they installed, FX1700017, leaks water from the vent at the top of the door. When you open the door after running a load, there is a puddle under the vent from water that is trapped in the vent. The service company that they sent out said it is a design flaw and there is no fix for it.Whirlpool just keeps saying since there arent any error codes coming up, there isnt a problem with the way the dishwasher is functioning. I was told I could pay for another opinion, but they wouldnt guarantee to reimburse me if they couldnt prove the dishwasher wasnt functioning properly. I guess they dont consider someone slipping and falling because they didnt see the puddle before it got cleaned up a problem. I have given up trying to get anywhere with Whirlpool. I will take my $150.00 for a second opinion and the $200.00 that they want for an extended warranty and put it toward a dishwasher that doesnt leak! Beware!!

We purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio washer brand new from Lowes. It did great for about 6 months when a terrible grinding noise started. Then it also would not spin dry the clothes - they would come out completely soaked. Repair guy came out and fixed it. Lasted for about 1 year - same thing again. Lasted about 1.5 years this time and now the loud grinding is back and my wife - who Ive heard cuss just a couple times in 20+ years - said, This ** thing sucks. The clothes are soaked. I cant stand this washing machine. So, Off we go to buy a new machine. Definitely not a Whirlpool though. Id give this machine 1 star because it does a decent job for a while but major repairs 3 times in five years is not what I deem an acceptable appliance.

Whirlpool washing machine M# wtw7340xw2 / S# c14270996 - Bought in 11/26/2012. Never was real satisfied with the way the clothes were washed. They never came out real clean and smelled like there was still soap in the clothes. It has been less than two years and now it will not run. Turn the unit on and all it wants to do is turn on the pump to drain the tub. Im a refrigeration technician and know how to run a diagnostic test Whirlpool has for this machine. I get an LF code which is water long fill so I checked out the water tube which is ok. So the problem is in the circuit board not sensing the water level. To replace this board is around $350 dollars and if I had someone else do the work I would be looking at over $550 dollars. I only paid around $500 dollar for the washer so it does not make any sense to put a new solid state board into this washer which cost as much as the washer. Our old GE washer lasted us for over 20 years and did a better job washing our clothes. There should be a better warranty on these machines than one year. I did not buy the extended warranty because of the cost and I expect that the product should last at least 10 years or more.

I chose based on the current ratings of the machines. They look nice and they can handle large loads. I think EPA has changed wash machines to be back into the 1920s. I put my clothes in and there is no agitator in the center. My clothes come out twisted tightly into little round circles or balls, not much water but now it takes over an hour to wash my clothes. So we are conserving water but using more power, I also have to iron sheets and clothes because they are so twisted and wrinkled. I used to stick my clothes into the washer, select a cycle and go on my way and now I have to answer 5 other selection options, if I dont hold the button in long enough it just turns off.Have we all lost our minds, I think this is going backwards not forwards. I have talked to other women and they agree with me, we HATE these new washer and dryers. The dryer is a little better but not much. Also the tops are concave so your laundry basket falls off, and you cant put your soap on the dryer which is where I am used to having it. Now I have to clean my washer every 30 cycles, iron and it takes all day to do the laundry, yes and they call this progress, really!!! I purchased the Whirlpool Cabrio W10607 425A- SP and dryers Whirlpool W10680129C-SP, these are full size and have the steam options on them and are side by sides.

I bought a 40-gallon hot water heater in November 2007. First problem I had with it was in 2009 when the pilot wouldnt stay lit. They sent me a requisition number to take to Lowe’s to pick up the part (igniter) and gave me a service number to give to the plumber to fix it. Plumber actually told me these heaters were junk and this wasnt the last problem Id have. Last Sunday (January 2012)--here we go again. Pilot went out and wont stay lit. Whirlpool is telling me its because I have a draft. Yeppers, that must be it because after they had me (arthritic 53-year old) and my disabled husband performing circus acts trying to relight it, then it was the filter on the bottom, then it was a draft. Last time I tried to light, which really someone as blind and disabled as me shouldnt be doing anyway, I about blew up. I hate getting ** by big corps. I filed a complaint with state Attorney General. If that doesnt work, hell, I think Ill take both Whirlpool and Lowe’s to small claims court. What do I have to lose? $35? Their fancy-schmancy lawyers will probably charge them a couple grand for their efforts. Im sick and tired of getting the short end of the stick. Since when is a hot water tank supposed to last a mere 4 years? Oh, by the way, Whirlpool says it’s all on me now--well see about that. First of all, both of these chumps just lost a customer and I Facebooked by friends about this pleasant experience plus included a link to this page. Consequences are all mine, I guess. Its pretty swell bathing in a sink full of water that you heated on the stove. I dont have any money because Im too busy giving it all to big insurance and big pharma right now. What a country!

Whirlpool Cabrio - 6 Big Problems: I dont write bad reviews on anything but in this case, I feel I have to warn potential buyers. Ive owned this washer for more than 4 years. Here are the problems: 1) This washer TEARS HOLES in my towels; 2) It SHREDS some clothes; 3) Loads are UNBALANCED every time I use it, regardless of load type or size; 4) Very LOUD when running. My neighbors can hear it and they are 150 feet behind us. It sounds like someone is pounding on the walls of my house. BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! I havent seen it, but I believe it might actually be jumping off the floor; 5) Its NOT High Capacity as advertised. Sure, the drum is big, but you cant put much more than a tiny load in it. If you try a larger load, the clothes dont get cleaned; and 6) Whirlpool wont do a darn thing about it. They dont care about the buyer or their own reputation. Our family grew and I thought we needed a larger washer. I foolishly replaced a ten-year old, $300 standard top-loading GE washer that never had a problem, with this expensive **. The GE had a drum that was about 1/2 the size and it washed MORE clothes! The GE never damaged any clothes and it wasnt ridiculously loud like this one. I regret ever buying this expensive washer and I will never again buy a Whirlpool product.

Over the last 3 years, the self-cleaning oven has decided to lock the door and clean itself with my food still inside on five different occasions. There is no way to override the lock. We have to shut off the electric power completely then wait for the oven to cool down before we can open the door and remove the charcoal substances! This happened once while a member of our fire department was here for dinner. This is one of the most frustrating and dangerous events ever! Please, please, please do not purchase a Whirlpool self-cleaning oven! I will never purchase one again. I was so excited to have a glass top stove and the first time this happened, I thought it was just a freak occurrence. But it is happening again and again. My oven is kept clean in attempt to avoid this, but to no avail. Not only am I afraid of a fire, but Im also out too many dollars of food waste! How disappointing to be cooking dinner and have it ruined by the oven. Nothing was burning in the oven at the time it decided to lock itself either! Disappointed, frustrated, and extremely miffed!

I bought a Whirlpool water heater in 2009. I paid $588.46 at Lowes. Turns out it is in a class action lawsuit for faulty thermocouple. I was given a coupon from Whirlpool for 2 new thermocouples as part of the class action lawsuit. The thermocouple goes out on it every 1-3 months. You never know when youre going to have a cold shower getting ready for work in the morning. I literally could have bought a new water heater for what Ive spent on thermocouples the last few years. The last two times it went out, I had to replace it twice within 1 day. Im sick of replacing it and have decided to install a new hot water heater. After 50+ years of doing laundry, I had to purchase my 3rd washer. I bought the new top loader without an agitator. I very quickly learned that it has no lint filter. My first load was towels and mats. The lint clogged up my tub and drain pouring water all over the floor. Since then it has ruined many of my clothes which are mostly sweaters and sweater-knits. Without a lint filter, it deposits the lint right back on the clothes where it stays forever unless I shave or pick it off, even though Ive turned them inside-out. (Time consuming waste!) Even my socks have little balls of lint. It seems the only safe fabrics are new, smooth woven cottons, cotton-blends and slippery nylon providing there is no lace or brushed elastic. Now to the no fabric-softener dispenser... The Downy ball simply doesnt work, and theres no other way to add it. Waiting to use dryer sheets is too late; the damage is done. My clothes are dingy. In my 50+ years of ownership, I have never had to purchase a separate product to wash my washer so that it doesnt stink... and it does. Why does it lock after starting? If I could afford to replace it, I would... but I cant.

I was told to throw everything away from the unit, since the whole assembly would come complete in the mail. First call: Ordered the replacement: what came was a glass shelf without a drawer or gliders and hardware. Second call: requested the drawer and remaining parts. Third call: only received the plastic drawer without any means of installing it. Fourth call: received only one side glider, again without hardware to install. Fifth call: requested a supervisor (Kimberly) who took the order for the remaining glider and all hardware. Received second glider and (1) screw when two are needed.Sixth call: asked rep Brigitte for a supervisor and was not connected. Given the run around and told that the rep spoke with a supervisor for me and would send out a repairman to assemble the unit. I just need the missing screw. I have spent a lot of time on the phone trying to get what I need from Whirlpool and do not have time to wait for a service repairman to come out. I just cannot fathom how that many calls - with me being patient and calm - cannot produce the required items. Horrible.

The technician said it was normal and it will stop in 2 to 3 days. The leaking never stopped, multiple attempts has not solved the problem and the fridge has never stopped leaking. We have to keep towels under the water dispenser to prevent damage to our kitchen wood. Despite the problem existing from day one of delivery, a replacement or refund has been declined to us. Sears technical assistance was not able to remedy the problem, after a series of missed appointments. Sears technical service attempted to fix the problem without success and has not suggested any further solution. Sears technical service claimed that they have been in contact with Whirlpool. During the warranty period, we asked for a replacement or a refund. Nothing has been done. Whirlpool just provides lemons to their customers.

A couple of years ago, we had 2 natural gas hot water heaters installed. We immediately had a service call to replace the thermostat on one of them. Then recently, the other one had to be replaced because of the leaky tank. It was still in warranty, and we had to pay $425 for the old one to be removed and the new one installed. Now, this one has a bad thermostat and the A & E Factory Service is coming tomorrow to install the new thermostat. We have been inconvenienced by this for a couple of weeks as we have no hot water in the master bath. We were just lucky that we had one hot water heater working in the other part of the house. I think that Whirlpool should have paid the $425 for the installation as the original hot water heater was in warranty. Now, I hope that tomorrows visit will be covered by the warranty. Next time we need an appliance, we will not be purchasing a Whirlpool.

Despite always using the designated (he) detergents and trying many different brands in appropriate amounts, this washer always leaves an ugly white residue on clothes. This happens all the time, requiring whole loads of clothes to be rewashed, sometimes more than once. This defeats the whole purpose of conserving water, which is reflected in our water bill. We also placed the laundry room on the second floor to make it easier for me with my disabilities. I am constantly having to climb the stairs when the machine gets unbalanced in addition to the extra loads from the residue. I was very excited to purchase this machine.
