Its now Nov 8 and Ive been officially dealing with this issue since Sept 26. This washer was installed in a new home. After less than 10 loads, my washer stopped draining and I was left with a load of towel soup for over a week while waiting for a service call. I still have the same defective non functioning washer sitting in my home and have been unable to do laundry at home in all that time. So far Ive spoken with 2 customer service representatives. The first was incapable of scheduling a service call. She clearly did not understand how to operate the database used for scheduling. I was finally able to schedule appointment on my own but had to wait a week before the technician was able to come by. It was determined that either the latch mechanism or the mother board or both are defective from the factory. The second was just plain dismissive and completely unhelpful. I sat on hold for about an hour each time before getting to speak to a person. Ive also received two canned emails in response to my poor review of this washer on the Whirlpool website. They basically blame COVID for the delays and state the parts delivery should take 3-4 weeks. I was originally told 14 working days for delivery of the parts. We are already past both deadline with no end in sight. At this point, Id like the defective washer replaced rather than repaired. And for the record, this was a new washer (less that one month old) installed in a new house that now stinks to high heaven because slimy, scummy water that will not drain out has been there since September 26. Id really just like for someone at Whirlpool to honestly care about this and take a moment to address this issue.

Im on Whirlpool Cabrio washer top number 4. Well over $300.00 each, and washer doesnt work with a broken top. I sent a letter to Whirlpool telling them, NEVER again Whirlpool and my reason is the 4th top in 6 years. I received a form letter back... apologizing for a delay in response and, we hope you enjoy the rest of your day, lol. They dont get my level of dissatisfaction or better just dont care. Never again Whirlpool. If you search Cabrio Washer tops you can see thousands of dissatisfied customers... and still Whirlpool has the arrogance to say, occasionally failures do occur, but we can not explain. Really is your engineering that bad? A high school kid could figure out that the spring is to strong for the plastic housing and over time the plastic cracks. Really Whirlpool? A multi billion dollar company? Never again Whirlpool.

I just bought a Whirlpool 50-gallon water heater from Lowes because my old one took a turn for the worse. I brought it home, installed it just as the directions said, and immediately got an FVS fault detected code as soon as I plugged it in and tried to ignite it. This is by far the worst experience I have ever had with an appliance. And wouldnt you know it whirlpool service center is closed on weekends. What an absolute piece of trash. Im draining it and taking it back ASAP. Lowes and Whirlpool just lost my business for good.

We purchased a Whirlpool water heater from Lowes in 2011. Everything was fine up until June 2015. We got the dreaded 4 flashes. We called for service to come out, that costed us around $300. December 23rd of 15 it goes out again. We called Whirlpool instead of a service company and the part was under warranty. We paid for overnight shipping but because of the holiday it was not guaranteed. We told them we are fine with Sat. delivery. In the meantime we had to cancel a holiday party scheduled at our house the 24th. We waited around all day Sat. for the part to show and nothing. We called Whirlpool to get the tracking number and we find out that the other service rep didnt mark our package for Sat. delivery. I am very close to just buying a new heater. I am trying to tell everyone I can about how horrible Whirlpool is. I feel sorry for any suckers that buy based on the name and dont do their research.

This washer is 5 years old and the top is rusting out on the inner rim. I have city water that has been tested and found to be totally safe to use and drink. Neighbors using the same water and owning different brand washers have no rust problems. Does anyone else have the same problem with their Cabrio washer?

We had bought a whirlpool refrigerator (Model - DC 205 5S/2016) in late Apr
We had bought a whirlpool refrigerator (Model - DC 205 5S/2016) in late April 2016. Initially I noticed a whirring sound after 6-7 hours of switching it on. As nobody from whirlpool had come for installation or any follow up even after requesting, we let it go thinking that nothing could go wrong with a new fridge. Nevertheless, the disturbing sound continued, until I noticed exposed wires running crisscross atop the freezer box and below it, one even preventing the chiller tray to be pulled out easily. Also, we had to get a stabilizer to reduce the notice even though it was written in big bold letters that it was a Stabilizer free refrigerator. After 8 months of owning it, we went for a three-day trip leaving the refrigerator on and set at point 3 in the cooling knob of which 5 is the maximum. On returning back, I noticed a crack at the top right corner of the freezer door and saw that ice had built up covering that side of the freezer inside. Again, as I had to leave for office within 1 hour, I let it rest and went. In the evening we noticed that the crack had extended, so we defrosted the fridge. The next morning I found a small piece of the freezer door floating in the defrosted water, and the freezer door was unhinged and askew at the top, in fact a part of the freezer doors upper right hinge had broken due to maybe the pressure of ice buildup, which had caused the crack that we saw.Shocking it was at first to learn that a freezer door be made of such low standard material ignoring the other fact of wires jutting out of the freezer at top and bottom. As the warranty period was 12 months, I immediately called the customer care, who put me on hold for 8-10minutes and disconnected, this repeated 2 times after which I was frustrated enough and vowed not to use the freezer again. After almost a month a more responsible member of my family took it upon himself and raised a complaint which was answered and a service person came home with a dirty looking and completely scratched piece of replacement door for the freezer. He informed that plastic pieces never came in warranty and we had to pay for it. Upon asking for further clarification he called his manager, Hemanth who was too rude and informed Madam you have pulled the freezer door apart which has caused this. Also, he was asking me specifically are you lying as you said initially that you left for 3days and now you said 5 days? We had left on a Friday night and came back on Tuesday morning, which means 3 complete days out of station. I never knew the exact number of days mattered as a fridge was supposed to be switched on continuously for days. Also, finally Hemanth was informing like if it was some mechanical or electrical fault we could have done it free of cost. So, I reported the whirring noise and the wires jutting out of the freezer tray. He blabbered at first and then informed me that the sound might be due to voltage fluctuation if you are not using a stabilizer (we were using one even though the fridge was a stabilizer free operation one, phew) and the wires issue he completely ignored claiming it as normal. So we paid in full for the dirty and scratched replacement door and also had to be called as liars and blamed that we had literally pulled off the door. Also, he was the most unprofessional manager that I had ever spoken to as he closed the conversation with, If it was LG or Samsung, they would never even have come for service like this. Enough was enough... Never in my life would I have anything to do with whirlpool nor will suggest this brand to anybody. They use such low-quality products. The warranty promises are just scam + even the managers are so insulting and bad mannered to the extent that I never want to deal with them anymore. Also, they dont think twice before just blaming the customers for their low-quality products. In all my years so far I have never come across a brand that treat their customers like this.

On November 1, 2011, I purchased the Whirlpool Estate washer (model # ETW4400XQ) from Wholesale Appliance in Charleston, SC. The first time I used it I knew something wasnt right when both the regular and so-called gentle cycle agitated at an incredibly fast speed. It is damaging my clothes. I called the dealer and they sent out a service person. He said that was just the way it was and he couldnt do anything. So, I keep trying to use the gentle cycle, but it was the same thing. I would have to stand by the machine and stop it after a couple of minutes so it wouldnt ruin the clothes. The more I thought about it, I decided that the repairman wasnt right. I called Whirlpool customer service and they sent a different repair service. He also said that he couldnt do anything to make it slow down as it was programmed by a computer inside and he could not change it. I went to the dealer, Wholesale Appliances, and they said there was nothing they could do as far as giving me a refund or a discount on a better machine. The setting on the washer clearly says gentle cycle.” Well, the whole world knows that does not mean beat the clothes to death as fast as possible. Can you make any suggestions? Thanks.

I purchased a washing centre at Canadian Appliance Source. I paid to have it delivered, installed and for them to take away my old appliances. I had several issues and when I called the store, they sent me to Whirlpool warranty who dispatched a repair technician a few days later. With nothing solved to my satisfaction, I called Whirlpool again. I spoke to a customer service rep who gave these responses, she put me through to a manager who gave me the same responses. When I asked to speak with someone above her, she said she could put me through to another person at her level but noone at a higher level.I want to hear the same response again? Really? Her only other answer was to email the Whirlpool Executive, which will be my next step. This is a summary only of my experience of the first few days after the purchase.Problem: The first load I washed was 1 set of blue sheets with 2 pillow cases. The water didnt seem to cover the load but I thought when it started to wash, they would get wet. When I took the sheets out of the washer, there were several dry spots and some kind of residue on several areas, so not washed or cleaned as expected. I tried washing one sheet, same thing. Tech solution: Put in some wet items to the load so the washer thinks the load is heavier and will add more water, or add a bucket of water to the load, Really? Whirlpool response: The washer is working as expected. Really? Problem: I did a warm water wash, expecting the machine to dispense a mix of hot and cold AT THE SAME TIME making it warm water. The washer starts with cold water then stops and puts in hot water. I dont want cold water or hot water on this load I want warm as recommended by the manufacturer! Tech solution:Dont use warm water wash. Really? Whirlpool response: Works as expected. Really?Problem: Dryer is way too hot on the delicate cycle, not good for delicates! Tech solution: Use the air dry cycle. Really? Whirlpool response: Dryer is working as expected. Really?Problems I didnt even discuss: The load is really really wrinkled when it comes out of the washer. Who wants to have to go back to ironing everything they own? The washer tub and dryer are really really small! I should have read more reviews and headed the warnings! Comments: I purchased online, biggest mistake. The store will not take it back. Whirlpool will not take it back. Hindsight is 2020! If I could have given negative stars, I would have.

Cabrio washer - I have always had a Whirlpool appliances and have always been satisfied with them, but this is the worst washer ever manufactured. I bought it to wash heavy loads of jeans and it takes me all day to wash 1 load because it is always out of balance. No matter what setting I put it on I have to keep rearranging the load. Without putting up with that, the load takes 87 minutes on bulky wash. That is far too long and then you add all the time I spend rearranging it to get it to work. I think there should be a recall or at least admit you have a poor design. My son works for Whirlpool, but Im not sure I will be supporting this company again.

We purchased a Whirlpool Dishwasher from the Home Depot, it was installed 3-28-2015, less than 30 days ago. On 4-21-2015 the dishwasher stopped working. I called Home Depot expecting a replacement; but we were told you have 48 hours; you need to contact Whirlpool, due to the CRAP warranty. I called Whirlpool, we were told that a TECH would need to come out and address. They came today, ** , told us that the Motor is bad. (NOTE I havent made a payment on this dishwasher). So we called Whirlpool, expecting they would replace. I spoke to ** who advised me they would not replace, only repair. I explained this is unacceptable for a new product. I demanded to speak to her Manager; Spoke to ** who said the same. I asked to speak to her manager, his name is ** , but HE DOES NOT DEAL WITH THE CONSUMERS, this is beneath his job class I was told. So NOW I have no choice but to have this Dishwasher repaired; it will take over 2 weeks to get the part. I just dont understand how this is good Customer service. It is the worst I have ever experienced.

We purchase Whirlpool fridge less than a year ago. Its still under guaranteed. 2 months ago we notice the fridge part heating up and food was going off. I went back to the shop where we purchase the fridge. They said we had to contact Whirlpool direct so we did had to wait 3 weeks for someone to come and look at it. Fridge is not repairable. Fella who came out did not report back to Whirlpool. I was waiting and waiting to hear word. I rang to see what was the story on it and eventually they said O we will exchanged your fridge and we will ring you on delivery date. Now Im over 2 month waiting on a fridge. Whirlpool is a joke. The company should be put out of business for what they do to honest people buying their stuff, and people who are in the same boat as me should go to the high court and sue them for all the stress they put people through. Shame on you Whirlpool. Disgrace.

I bought a new home from DR Horton with Whirlpool appliances. All of the kitchen appliances were Whirlpool which came with a 1 year warranty. After closing on the house and getting in, started the dishwasher for the first time, it started leaking water instantly from the bottom of the unit and spilled all over the floor. Tried to contact the builder/inspector who asked us to contact Whirlpool. Called Whirlpool and I was kept on hold for over an hour before someone answered. The rep was so adamant talking all unrelated things and said that she cannot do anything for another 15 days. After escalating to the supervisor, it was the same response. The service at customer care is so bad with no fix in sight. I am not sure what they are going to do with the appliance and not sure whether they come and fix it or keep me waiting. Very unethical, the way they talk to the customers.

I bought a Whirlpool washing machine from Home Depot 4 years ago. It immediately started to grow mold in the seal even though I wiped it clean after usage. I called a certified technician to replace the seal. As he was removing one screw on the lock the Washing machine shorted out essentially destroying the panel and rendering the machine broken. I called Whirlpool and told them that the machine was defective otherwise, why would it do that? My technician has worked on hundreds of machines and this is the first time this has happened. The two managers I talked to refused to help me because I didnt have an extended warranty. It is true that I dont have an extended warranty but also, I had faith that Whirlpool had sold me a good product. There is no other explanation for the washing machine to do that other than it was defective. I asked the managers to send me replacement parts, but they refused to do that. The last machine I had was a Maytag that lasted 20 years and when I gave it away, it was still working. I expected no less from the Whirlpool I purchased at Home Depot.

On May 15, 2017, I purchased a new Whirlpool Water Heater, unknowingly made by American Water Heater Co., from Lowes (receipt attached). Model Number ES40R10-55 with a 10 year warranty. The water heater was installed using the directions in the owners manual. Upon turning on the current to the water heater after it was filled with water and all air removed from the plumbing, the module gave a code stating the top element was not working. Called the Technician Assistance Hotline and they gave me a RA number to get a new top element from Lowes. Got that on May 16 and had to call the plumber that is contracted by American Water Heater Co. to come to the house and inspect the heater to make sure it was installed correctly. The water heater worked once the new element was installed. On Oct. 3, 2017, had more issues with the module stating the top element was not working. Called the Tech. Assistance Hotline and they gave me another RA number to get another top element. On Oct. 4, got the top element and installed it. The water heater started working again. On Oct. 6, the module stated the bottom element was not working. Called the Tech. Assistant Hotline and had the plumber come out. He determined that he could not find out why it was doing this and also said that both elements were good along with the element that I removed on Oct. 4, which I still had. Since then, the module has been giving codes stating that both elements are bad and I have not had any hot water since Oct. 7. American Water Heater Co., Whirlpool, and Lowes all refuse to give me a refund for this piece of junk! All blame the other for the problems and none will take any responsibility for the water heater not working. I will never buy another appliance with the Whirlpool name and definitely will not buy anything made by American Water Heater Co. I also will never buy another appliance from Lowes as they are not willing to help me in this matter. If you do not want to experience the headache and frustration of owning a new appliance that does not work, I would suggest that you do the same!!!

I purchased a Whirlpool fridge in September of 2015. In March of 2016 I noticed the Fridge portion was getting too cold. By April 2016 the freezer stopped freezing and fridge started warming up. I reported the issue to Whirlpool and made an appointment. The day of the appointment the first company called and their tech couldnt make it because of a family emergency. They sent another company out instead. That company diagnosed the issue as a faulty chiller and ordered the part and told me they would be in touch. A week goes by with no working fridge and I call them. They say it will be another week for the parts. Two weeks go by - no call. I call them and they say they have the parts and I make an appointment. The day of the appointment I call them to find out what time they will be out and they tell me they dont have all the parts. And when I mention that I have been without a fridge and that I am frustrated that they arent calling me and that I am having to call them back the lady starts yelling at me asking me if I want to cancel my appointment. So I call Whirlpool and ask for another company. They send a company out that is not trained to be working on a sealed unit. So I call Whirlpool back again and they send an in house tech out three days later. This is over about a month without a fridge at this point. Their tech simply recharges the system and says that it should be fine.A week later the freezer stops freezing and the fridge warms up to the point that both are not usable. The tech comes out and diagnoses that there it is most likely the chiller because of a build up of frost in the freezer. Orders the part and a week and a bit later I call Whirlpool up to get an ETA on the parts. They say they have the parts now (no call??) and they schedule an appointment. The tech comes out and puts the part in almost a week later (2 months now) and says that it is still building up frost in an area that it shouldnt and calls tech support back and forth for the next two hours. He leaves saying give it some time to see if it works, but admits to me that it is likely it is leaking in an area that he cant access. So I call up Whirlpool and explain the situation and ask for a new Fridge. It has been two months and the tech by his own admission could not say he fixed the problem and thought the problem maybe somewhere else. After looking at my case and me being on hold back and forth for about a half hour the supervisor says that at this time I need to wait to see if it fails again. And that if it does I need to have a tech back on site to verify. So this will be the seventh time I took time off work, it will be the fourth time the fridge fails and that I will have to throw out groceries. When is enough enough. I am into this now for almost double what the fridge is worth in lost wages and groceries.Do yourself a favour and stay away from Whirlpool!!! If I have to guess the following will happen: five days from now the fridge will stop working again (when the Freon leaks out - same timeline as previously) and then I have to call for a tech (3-4 days) and the tech will come out, determine that it isnt working. I have another conversation with a supervisor asking for a new fridge and they miraculously agree (yeah I know). Then what two weeks, a month... before I get a new fridge. I anticipate that I will have been without a fridge for 3 months before it is all resolved. Ridiculous is all I can say. Whirlpool should be embarrassed.

Five years ago, I decided to splurge on a really nice (expensive) over-the-range microwave during a complete kitchen remodel and had the Whirlpool Gold Velos Microwave GH7208XRS installed, thinking Whirlpool would be a reliable brand to replace our 18+ year-old (still working) Kenmore countertop model that we had used previously. About 4 months ago, after a couple of mysterious cases of the control panel going haywire (turning on by itself in a different modes), it started pouring smoke out the top and service was called and the magnetron and inverter were replaced to the tune of $482.Fine, things happen. Yesterday, while opening the door, the handle snapped off and (upon closer inspection) I noticed cracks around all sides of the door frame - see photos. After reading about similar complaints about Whirlpool microwaves on this forum, I really feel that this is a defect in materials and should be recalled or at least addressed by the company if they want to maintain their reputation. Right now, I am waiting on their authorized repair service to see what my recourse will be.

My fridge is only 8 months old and stopped working about 5 weeks ago. They have sent repair techs out 5 times, replaced the compressor, condenser, some fan thing and evaporator. It worked for 2 days then the compressor started leaking again. Ive lost 2 refrigerator full of groceries. It damaged my floor. I was unable to have family over for Christmas and Ive been using a mini fridge. The Whirlpool customer service people have been no help and some have been very rude. I have no idea when this will ever be fixed. There is no way I would ever buy any appliance from Whirlpool again. Terrible experience.

My house was built 20 years ago, with all Whirlpool appliances; built-in microwave over the electric oven, gas cooktop, and under counter dishwasher. The oven just gave out. Everything else works fine! Let me repeat that. I have a 20 yr old Whirlpool microwave that works just fine! Well, since the oven broke, we thought, maybe its time to update all the appliances. We went to the large appliance store from which our original ones came, and were told that all microwaves are now made in China by Sharp, and are crap!! Wed be lucky to get 3 years out of one. My jaw hit the ground. I couldnt believe the appliance salesman was telling us this! In fact, the appliance repairman that diagnosed my oven to be unrepairable ($100 trip charge, thank you very much) didnt have much good to say about the newer refrigerators... They contain much less Freon and dont seem to hold up as well... So, I guess Ill just keep my old appliances going as long as possible! How can appliance manufacturers stay in business!

We bought our Whirlpool Cabrio 7 years ago and it was great at first. I have not had any trouble with it ripping clothing. The clothes are clean. Its constantly breaking down. First it was the drain pump. Then the main computer board went! I called Whirlpool and of course the lady says its not covered. I had back up though. Google is amazing! I asked why this wasnt a recall as all over the web, people had this same problem. I pushed and pushed and she put me on hold. Came back to say it was in fact covered. What? Really? What changed your mind? She wasnt allowed to tell me. Supposedly had something to do with the date of manufacture. So okay, they send the repair guy out, its fixed. Now tonight, the lid locks and nothing happens! This repair was about 6 months ago. Grrrrr. Its been one thing after another with this hunk of expensive junk. When I buy an appliance I expect it to be problem free for far longer than this. I am not getting a code or anything, just dead air. So frustrating with three kids not being able to do laundry when I need it randomly :( Has anyone else had this problem? The lid locks, then does nothing. I unplugged it, pressed off and restarted it. Changed settings. Nothing is working.

Four years old and only used by a 2 family home. No kids overloading it. Probably wash 3 loads a week on average. After 4 years, it has started the grease flying out of the bottom and now leaking water. My appliance repair man told me to scrap it and buy a new one. The repair and the parts are too expensive and in the end it is still junk. I realize things wont last 30 years like they used to but can I get 7 years out of a major appliance?

I will never touch the premier Whirlpool Brand Again. This is the two door fridge + drawer freezer, model GI7FVCXWY0After about a year, and I think it lasted this long because the ice maker was off during winter (because unless you use it constantly you have a solid block of ice), after a year it stopped making ice and poured water out from the top of the fridge. Expensive extended warranty came and replaced the Ice Maker, which (about a year later) has just started leaking all over the floor (again). This I suspect was a protest against using all of the ice one day. It froze up, which causes the leak, froze solid items that were in the fridge compartment (and spoiled some items). The other design fault is while the right hand door will stay open, the left will not, it closes. But it does not close properly - just enough to make you think it is closed.Dangle beers in a nearby stream, keep your food in the cellar, dig a deep hole in the backyard, learn to eat all your food the day you buy it, but do not buy this fridge!

Whirlpool Energy Saver Dishwasher Model DU850SWPS3 was placed in our new ho
Whirlpool Energy Saver Dishwasher Model DU850SWPS3 was placed in our new home purchased in May of 2010. We just found that this dishwasher had a slow leak in the seal to the motor which has ruined our hardwood floor, subflooring and part of a laminate beam on the floor directly below the washer, plus molding from the water. The leak has been going on sometime it was not noticed until the floor became so soaked from use over a long period of time that we finally saw the leak, by accident, in the basement which we hardly access. The Whirlpool costumer service was no help and would not entertain repairing the dishwasher unless we paid due to the fact it is over the year warranty. This is clearly a defective part in their product and poor workmanship on their part. We should not have to check underneath our new appliances to determine if we have leaking problems because we cannot trust them from failing. I will never purchase another Whirlpool product and will not recommend their products to anyone.

Whirlpool Cabrio - This expensive machine should be called the Presidential
Whirlpool Cabrio - This expensive machine should be called the Presidential. First it spins, spins, spins. It sprays tiny amounts of water, so little, that there is 2 inches or less. There isnt enough water to cover the clothes so no agitator to stir and mix them. There are ridges on the bottom of the tub called aggrivators to twist everything into pretzels. This twisting spreads the dirt around, but does NOT remove it, the utter lack of water giving it no where to go. I use a hose to add extra water, and I hand soap dirty spots. I stop the washer frequently to hand rub and slop the clothes around and un-twist them. Explain to me how running this machine 3 times plus adding water saves water and energy. I cant, in good conscience, sell this POS to someone else, and I cant afford something else. I sure miss my simple reliable old Maytag. I could say even more about this atrocity, but not now. I HATE THIS POS!

The same parts keep being replaced but they are all defective. This last time the service tech said he contacted Whirlpool and they had a redesigned part that should take care of it. The burners were very crooked and the pans got burned out right away. They were covered under warranty but since then, they had the same problem with them with the new items. They had the light bulb stuck and couldnt get it out, they came under warranty and now a new light bulb wont work in it. The control top indicator light didnt work so I had that fixed under the warranty, but now it has the same problem and I cant afford to get it fixed and it could be a real safety issue. When it was under warranty, I called about the brown in between the oven door and they said it was cosmetic. It gets worse every time we use the self-cleaning oven like the seal isnt tight. The outside of the door gets brown also when using the self-cleaning oven. We thought we would have this range for a long time as we had a Whirlpool range before which lasted 20 years. I will never buy a Whirlpool product again and we have had a lot of them. e cant afford to buy a new one so we are stuck with this one with all its problems. Whirlpool just gives you the runaround when you call. When they brought the range, the self-cleaning oven part wasnt even hooked up so they had to come back and fix it. I cant believe they dont have more recalls on these. I have only had this for 4 years.

I cooked a pork loin for 40 minutes at 350 and it was still raw in the middle. I have had to cook everything on 375 which makes the door handles and knobs very hot. I called Lowes and they patched me into Whirlpool after a 45 minute wait. The rep from Whirlpool said, you can look at the manual and figure out how to calibrate it. No I cant. We purchase the Whirlpool Gold Dishwasher GU2400XTPB7 with our new home. This dishwasher has a plastic tub. For some unknown reason the dishwasher started to leak, I checked every hose connection and could not find the leak until I noticed four small burn marks in the plastic tub underneath the heating element. It actually looks like someone took a cigarette to the plastic. One of the burns went through the plastic tub, and this is where the leak is. Note: at no time did any of our dishes touch the heating element.I called Whirlpool customer service and they said they would send a technician out for $81 and in addition I would be charged $19 for every 15 minutes of service. I had asked to speak to a supervisor and he recommended that a technician come to my house at my expense and all the supervisor could say was that he was sorry, which became even more frustrating. No remuneration was offered. I have had other issues with our Whirlpool washing machine (holes in clothes), gas range stove (ignitron issues), and fridge. l will never purchase any Whirlpool product again including Jenn-Air. I made this quite clear to the supervisor. Whirlpools products and customer service are inferior based on my experience with our four appliances. We purchased the Whirlpool Gold Series smooth top stove from Lowes in December of 2013. The stove is not even 2 years old and it doesnt work. Last September, I noticed a few times that while baking food in the oven, it was burnt after only 10 minutes, due to a runaway temperature. After that, the oven wouldnt heat up properly, it would take too long to bake anything because the temperature wouldnt reach the reading on the display. Then it just stopped baking or broiling all together with the error Feature unavailable. Weve had a serviceman out at least 3 times. Of course, the warrantys run out and its cost us close to $500 to keep fixing it, and two motherboards and a bottom element later, its still not fixed. They wanted to order 2 more parts at our expense, but we cant continue trying to fix this lemon. I will be shopping for another oven, and will never recommend Whirlpool to anyone.

Whirlpool model WRV986FDEM Purchased May 31, 2017 from Lowes. Cost: 2,638.10 including 229.97 for the 5 year extended warranty. We’ve experienced four failures in the nearly four years we’ve owned this lemon. The first failure occurred within the one year manufacturer’s warranty period. The three failures since then have been fairly close together. Control boards and mechanical parts have been replaced. We are now waiting for a “made to order” part, with no scheduled delivery date. When I pressed Lowe’s on the reliability of this fridge, I was told that if four failures occur during the extended warranty period, they would give us a replacement. Considering the delays in repairs and frequency of failures, this is unacceptable. Do Lowes and Whirlpool expect their customers to just suck it up and do without a refrigerator for months while we wait? The warranty is worthless without prompt problem resolution. Whatever happened to real customer service?

Certain brands of dishwashers made by Whirlpool, including Whirlpool, Kitchenaid and Kenmore, are a fire hazard. Most appeared to be made in the mid-00s. My Kenmore Elite, model# 665.16293400, bought in March 2006, started emitting a burning plastic smell. I removed the door panel and found where the control board wires have been overheating and melting the plastic liner inside the door.Further investigation led me to kitchenaidfire.com, which details the models involved and includes hundreds of reports of fires from these models. I also searched saferproducts.gov and also found over 100 reports of fires from these models. The report logs are growing rapidly as it appears most of the control boards start to malfunction about five years in.I called Sears and they said that Whirlpool needs to do a recall. I called Whirlpool and I was told that they do not make Kenmore dishwashers, only some parts. This is completely false. I couldnt believe the representative was told to tell me that besides the part that is failing is stamped Whirlpool. These Whirpool-made dishwashers are a documented fire hazard and need to be recalled. I do not know what it takes, hundreds of fire reports have been logged and they are rapidly growing, but I hope that it doesnt take someone to be killed before they are recalled.

It does seem, upon reflection, I would have been better off buying a piece of junk for $50. It would have lasted longer. Wish I had done more homework before I purchased a Cabrio washer and dryer. The washer uses so little water that I sometimes find dry spots on clothing when I take it out. How can it possibly be clean if it doesnt even get entirely wet? I now pre-rinse all of my underwear before putting it in the machine. I know the instructions say not to put in wet clothing, but if it breaks sooner, Ill get to replace it sooner with a more traditional model. I always use the lowest spin speed - anything else makes my clothes hopelessly wrinkled. I like the large tub for washing blankets and comforters. Thats about the only advantage I can think of. The dryer sensor quite often goes off after about 2 minutes if I use any setting other than the delicate or timed features. Ive had the machines for 2 years and had the dryer repaired once under the extended warranty I purchased. Very disappointing purchase.

We purchased this machine new and took delivery on 5/21/11. We did not start using this until late August of 2011. In late November we noticed a loud noise from the washer. When we contacted the sales company that sent out a repair person who informed us the bearings were defective. We have been told the parts are on back order for another 2-4 weeks. It has already been 4 weeks since they were out. Whirlpool was no help. They first claim we must have overloaded the machine, then relented saying that things happen. Either way I am without a washing machine we paid $1000.00 for another month; yet they will not extend my warranty at least for the time my machine is down. I am now worried about the damage that this unit may have caused to my new home due to water leakage, let alone the added expense to due my laundry since I must now use a service to provide for a washing machine I own.

I purchased a washer and dryer set, the Cabrio Platinum Series WTW8500BRO, about 3 years ago. I had a UL code come up a year ago and the machine was serviced and all was back to normal. Then only 9 months later it started acting up again. This time it sounds like an airplane taking off and there is a black spatter leaking from underneath, also the lid lock stopped engaging. I started to look up the error code for the lid lock and while reviewing that issue it was an easy fix, however, the noise and black spatter issue led me to tons of horrible reviews about this product. It is a bearing/tub/shaft issue that is going to cost me $500 to fix. First off I did not pay cash for this set, I rented it for 3 years and paid twice what it’s worth, around $4,000. Stupid on my part but I couldn’t afford it the other way. Weekly payments were easier. Now I am scared to fix this product because of all the reviews I’ve seen from other consumers. I haven’t had the other issues like dirty clothes, not enough water, high cycle times because they all start with a high number but after it configured the load the time shrinks, but this major issue about the bearings, they say I have to replace the entire tub assembly which is half the cost of the unit. So stupid and I cannot believe Whirlpool is getting away with this crap. Please please please inform me about any lawsuits. I will gladly participate in that. They should be held accountable for such a worthless piece of junk. Like I said I am now afraid to fix this machine because from what I’m reading, more than likely it will only last a short time.

I received this Email from the Whirlpool Director of Consumer Care to evaluate my experience with their customer service department. I filled out the survey over a week ago including a complete documentation of my problems and have not even received an acknowledgment of the survey or promise to look into my problems. In the last 7 months I have experienced problems with 2 Whirlpool major appliances which both appear to be unrepairable and which have been unsuccessfully brought to the attention of your customer support group. In March a fridge and in October a clothes washer. Both were high end products roughly 3 to 4 years old. I did not have an extended warranty with the fridge so I dealt directly with the customer support group. However I was covered by warranty with the washer and your distributor Bad Boy have been making the calls on my behalf but have been just as disappointed to date as I was. Both cases were very similar. In both cases the repairman came out within a few days and promised to return the following week with the broken part but I have never heard from either one of them EVER. In the case of the fridge I was told to defrost it the day before the promised repair date and lost all the food $$$. At this stage a number of calls went out from me to Whirlpool for the fridge and from Bad Boy for the washer and eventually we both got a new delivery date of roughly one month. Both times the date passed with no shows and no call backs. Repeated calls later to the customer service group, with promises of EXPEDITING the delivery, the fridge part delivery date was extended to 3 months so we had no choice but to buy a new fridge. As for the washer, Bad Boy even had an unsuccessful face to face meeting with your representatives and we have had no word back or expected delivery dates well into the third month.I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT TO DO? I have made so many calls with so few call backs and no clue what to expect or when? Your representatives use the word expedite with no idea what the word means. At the suggestion of one of your representatives I even called one of your distributors Sears to see if they had the part. Their Canadian head office is in the Philippines and they said they had the same problem with Whirlpool. Twice I tried to talk with your representatives supervisor and both times were unsuccessful. In a world of computers where it should take seconds to find inventory parts and expediting packages usually refers to next day delivery, the fact Whirlpool requires months is unbelievable. The only explanations I can come up with is 1- You dont make parts for your appliances. 2- New appliances are made so poorly all parts are gone. 3- You could not care less about your customers. 4- You dont own a computer. Most of our appliances are Whirlpool because we thought you had a good reputation. We had to purchase a new fridge and still have had no word on the washer?

We purchased a 50 gallon water heater in 2005. In 2008, the thermocoupling unit went out and Whirlpool sent us the replacement part and we had a plumper install the piece (at our expense, of course). Now, we are running into the exact same problem 3 years later with the pilot light not staying lit. We had a plumber come out this weekend and replace the part but unfortunately this time, its not fixing the problem. The plumber charged us $178. He said that he can replace the thermostat on the water heater but that would cost us close to $400 to replace and makes no sense to do since purchasing a new one wouldnt be much more than that. I am so frustrated with this water heater; I just want to throw it out in the middle of the street! We still have 3 years left on our warranty too. I have 2 very young daughters who need to take baths, and who also dirty up quite a bit of clothes that need to be washed in warm water. What a nightmare! Whirlpool, help us!

We bought a Whirlpool range. The same day we got it the burner exploded and my electricity went off. I called the customer service to request a replace, they told me a technician had to go and look at it. They did. I had to miss a day of work as they come between 9 to 5 pm (will not tell you what time). The guy say the range is defective (really!??) and will need to request parts. I called them again (after 15 times you wait minimum 30 min each time). They told me they can replace the parts. I said I bought a new appliance not an use one. Money back. Told me somebody will contact me. Week later nobody contact me and still waiting 30 min each time. I called nobody answer my calls. I wonder I may get somebody if I wait hours? No idea. Please do not buy from this guys... They are bad in all the way.

Whirlpool Dishwasher Quiet Partner III Model #8575637, White - Purchased in
Whirlpool Dishwasher Quiet Partner III Model #8575637, White - Purchased in 2006. As of July 2013, I can say this is the worst dishwasher we have ever owned. After normal use (once a day or less), the plastic on the front control panel began cracking in the first year, and the button covers have fallen off completely. Dishes were never completely clean (at least not as clean as other dishwashers). Dishwasher leaked out one side and needed repairs. Now it is in need of a new valve, because no water is coming into the inner cavity. Repairman says it is likely that the control board, which is getting moisture into it after losing buttons, etc., will probably need to be replaced soon as well. $300 more to spend on a repair bill. SAD (AND DANGEROUS!) THAT SO MANY APPLIANCES ARE ADDING UP IN OUR LANDFILLS. There should be a LAW requiring appliances to last a certain number of years, and to clearly state their expected life on the appliance when you purchase it. Planned Obsolescence is a common business plan these days, but there must be some control on what is allowed! (I may go ahead and repair this model just because I feel bad adding one more piece of junk to our collective global pile! Sheesh!!) And all those energy star, were so green advertisements? Well, if its soon to be sitting in a landfill, its NOT so green! I am willing to pay more to purchase appliances that will last a number of years, not need many repairs, and function as they advertise... Thank goodness I kept our very first Whirlpool refrigerator - never needing any repairs and still running like a tank out in the garage. (So I know Whirlpool, at least at one time, was able to build a quality product!)

I purchased all new, upper end Whirlpool appliances for our newly built hom
I purchased all new, upper end Whirlpool appliances for our newly built home just 6 months ago, to include a side by side refrigerator with ice maker and water dispenser, an over the stove microwave, a smooth cooktop oven/range, a dishwasher, a washing machine and a clothes dryer. We plugged in the new refrigerator, and after 24 hours of letting it sit and get cold, we bought $300.+ of groceries and filled our new refrigerator. We pulled the milk out hours later and it was warm, checked other food items and found them to be warm, too. I placed a thermometer in the refrigerator and it read 55 degrees. In disbelief, I placed a second thermometer in the refrigerator and it, too, read 55 degrees. Being brand new, only hours old, and clearly not working, I called for a replacement refrigerator. Our builder said we needed to call Whirlpool for a replacement. Whirlpool refused to send us a new refrigerator. Needless to say, we had to throw out all of our food for being dangerously off temperature, and we were less than happy about wasting $300.+ on food we could not safely eat, but glad we didnt have food poisoning. Not even the freezer could maintain a temperature below 55 degrees. While waiting on a repairman, we noticed that we were not hearing the refrigerators motor come on more than once every several hours. They sent a repairman out three days later, and he found nothing wrong other than a poorly fitting door, he said. He replaced the door hinge and told us our refrigerator would be cold in 3 - 5 hours. Well, it never did get below 55 degrees, set on the coldest setting. Whirlpool was called again and they couldnt seem to get another repairman out to fix my brand new refrigerator that could not perform its most basic function, which is to maintain food at proper temperature. Again, Whirlpool refused to send me a replacement refrigerator for this clearly defective refrigerator we were stuck with. We were told it would be 2-3 weeks before another repairman could come out, and then he would have to order parts after he diagnosed the refrigerator problem, taking another two weeks. We needed a refrigerator, like most people do, so we were forced to take this brand new refrigerator and stick it in the garage, not being able to sell a brand new refrigerator that wont get cold. Angry at Whirlpool for taking our money and leaving us with a refrigerator that never worked, we bought a Samsung refrigerator that we are very happy with - it works! After 2 months, our Whirlpool above the stove microwave has the motor turn on when we close the door, and it takes several opening and closing sequences to get it to shut off. We will be replacing this new microwave when we can afford to.Our ceramic/smooth top stove/oven, takes a very long time (at least 20 minutes) to preheat and the temperature in the oven is not accurate to the set temperature, according to my oven thermometer. The cooktop surface is inferior; it gets permanent water spots and it scratches very easily even though we use the correct pans and are very careful with it, and does not come clean easily. The surface feels rough, not slick like the GE Profile ceramic/smooth cooktop range that I had for 14 trouble-free years. I am using the same exact pans that I used with our GE, and we know how to be gentle with a smooth cooktop surface. After 14 years of owning the GE stove, the GE felt slick and smooth, cleaned easily, and did not have one single scratch on it. It looked as good as new when we moved, after 14 years of use. I will be replacing this inferior Whirlpool smooth cooktop range as soon as I can afford to, as well. Last month, right before Thanksgiving, our new Whirlpool dishwasher started making a really loud motor sound and quit working that day. It would fill water, drain the water and shut off. I once again called Whirlpool, and they were maddenly unhelpful. This time, they told me they would have a repairman call me in 5 working days to schedule an appointment to come and see my non working dishwasher. After 7 days, I called Whirlpool AGAIN, to ask why someone did not call me for an appointment. I was expecting a house full of people for Thanksgiving and I had no working dishwasher. I spent a lot of money buying these crappy Whirlpool appliances and am very frustrated. This time, Whirlpool told me that they could not find a service person in my area to service the unit. As if I live out in the middle of know-where?! I live 20 minutes from Austin, the state capitol of Texas! A 20 minute drive from the capitol building to my door! Whirlpool told me I could take my 5 month old, broken dishwasher to a repair shop and that the repair shop would need to call Whirlpool before they did any work, and that Whirlpool would only authorize a maximum of $150 to repair my dishwasher. They actually had the nerve to tell me that I would have to pay for the repair, and they would mail me a gift card in 6 - 8 weeks to reimburse me up to $150 on my new, broken dishwasher that is under warranty. I was furious!! Some warranty! The broken dishwasher is now sitting next to the broken refrigerator in my garage. I needed a dishwasher before Thanksgiving dinner, so I went and bought a Samsung.I realize that all makers can have a lemon, but all of my Whirlpool kitchen appliances are junk!! I will never own another Whirlpool product for as long as I live, and I will tell anyone who will listen about our abominable experience with Whirlpools customer service and the expensive, crappy appliances we unfortunately wasted a lot of our money on. Do yourself a huge favor, buy anything but Whirlpool! Thankfully, everything else about our new home has been great. Our new Whirlpool appliances will remain a very sore subject for year to come, I suspect.

I am very disappointed with my purchase of the Whirlpool Refrigerator Model # WRF535SMB. As soon as the warranty ran out, it began having problems with ice build up in the bottom of the freezer. I see this is a common complaint and wish I had read the reviews earlier. The appliance is only 3 1/2 years old. Other complaints - impossible to clean the freezer. Mold build up on the seals. Glass plate shattered in a thousand pieces when I very gently set it on the counter.French doors, white, freezer at the bottom.

We bought a Whirlpool gas range about a year and half ago. The oven started giving lighting problems we had to light with a match every once in a while. Then the broiler igniter started giving same problems so I replaced the igniter, still did not work. Then I tried the control panel, still nothing. The igniters were about 45.00 each. The control panel was 250.00. Then I replaced the spark module and it is now working. Some models the spark module dont control oven and broiler but mine does. That was 200.00. The best thing was the part place I was ordering from would exchange the parts that you try and they also can answer questions either online or by phone, Appliancepartspros.com. My oven model # is wfg371lvs3.

Ive done a research on the internet and found out that a lot of consumers are still having this problem to this day.

I purchased a new Cabrio Washing Machine and Dryer in March 2015. I have had 3 new washing machines thanks to the Customer Service provided by Lowes in Lindale Texas. The third washing machine has again lost its brain and the sensor to operate the machine. I have been waiting for the parts since December 2. Called it is still on back order. Unacceptable! It cost almost $60 dollars every 2 weeks for our washing at the Laundromat. Again unacceptable. All Whirlpool can say is We are sorry. When the machine works my clothes are beautifully cleaned using the new HE soap. Takes large loads and I love that part.I am sorry I bought a Whirlpool. Whirlpool would not work with me except to apologize and say the parts are on back order and I will get a call in 5 days for an update. These machines cost $900 each plus tax. They should work more than 3 months at a time. The first repairman could not explain anything. Said they were too new and he could not figure out what to do. The second repairman was more knowledgeable and explained what was wrong. Does not help that Whirlpool does not have an inventory of parts to take care of their customers.

Let me start out by saying that I had a Whirlpool washer that lasted me for
Let me start out by saying that I had a Whirlpool washer that lasted me for over 25 years and done a great job of washing my heavily soiled clothes. One day it refused to run and I tried to get parts for it but it had become obsolete and no parts were to be found for it, so I had to buy a new washer. I chose whirlpool again and let me say that it was a huge mistake. This model is a low water, high efficiency, top loading machine. It has nubs in the bottom that agitate to clean the clothes. The first time that I used the machine, I found that I had made a mistake purchasing this machine. It does not clean the clothes and there is NOTHING efficient about this machine. I have to run the washer twice to clean my clothes and they are still not clean. It leaves soap in the clothes and does not rinse them clean of the soap. What it does very well is extract water from the clothes during the spin cycle. This washer really turns up the high RPM`s on spin cycle. It has ripped apart several of my shirts during spin cycle. Whirlpool really failed badly on this machine. I see clearly now that Whirlpool is not the company that they used to be back in the 1980`s. I still have the whirlpool dryer that I bought back in the 1980`s and it still works very well. To end this story, I loaded up this NEW WASHER in the back of my truck and took it to the scrap yard and I asked them to destroy it in front of my eyes. I wished that I had recorded the destruction of this piece of JUNK and posted it on YouTube for the world to see. I got over $450.00 of pleasure watching the crane operator completely destroy this pile of crap. GREAT JOB WHIRLPOOL … YOU HAVE LOST A CUSTOMER FOREVER. I WILL NEVER BUY ANY OF YOUR PRODUCTS FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE and will advise others not to buy Whirlpool products as well. I am a male, 62 years old and work hard for my ill spent money on your JUNK. Life is always a trial, live and learn the hard way. Warning to all consumers. Do not buy Whirlpool products ever!!!! We bought a Cabrio washer & dryer September 2010 for a room addition that wasnt completed yet. We didnt get moved in until the first of November. So the washer wasnt used until then. In January 2011 (15 months later) it stopped spinning so clothes were dripping wet. We called Whirlpool and were told that they would be happy to set us up for a service agreement for $322 for one year. We declined since we bought the washer for a little over $500. When we had a local Whirlpool service man come out and he determined that it was the control board which would cost $265 (Whirlpool only warrants parts 90 days). I sent an email to Whirlpool and was told too bad, so sad. We called their customer care line (that is really not the term for that phone center) and asked to talk to a supervisor, who essentially told me the same thing. Whirlpool is making equipment that is extremely poor quality. There is no incentive for them to produce a better quality product as they make money on the extended warranties that are necessary, or if you dont buy an extended warranty they charge an extraordinary huge price for their parts, which they dont warranty. We will never purchase anything made by Whirlpool. I am not sure where this useless piece of junk that I have will end up but I intend to let everyone I know what a terrible company Whirlpool is to deal with.

I had a Whirlpool Natural Gas Water Heater professionally installed on 2-27-2107. This unit came with a Honeywell controller and thermopile assembly. Today is 05-18-2019 and the unit is not inoperative. The pilot is lit but the burner wont light. Here are the issues that I have come across so far: When I go to the Whirlpool site there is no direct link to Whirlpool water heaters, just kitchen appliances and washer/dryers. When I click on parts and accessories link it gives links to washers, dryers or pedestals. Again... No information about water heaters. I scroll down to the bottom of this page and I see a link to All Replacement Parts When I click that it takes me to another site managed by RepairClinic. When I enter the model number for the water heater it says Not Found. I entered the part number for the thermopile on the tag on the orange wire #321165-002 and 100078039 and again it returns as Part Not Found. Its obvious that Whirlpool is putting little effort into supporting their water heaters or their customers. I called their support line and they were able to order the thermopile assembly for $55 plus $27.95 in shipping to get it here by Tuesday. Today is Saturday. So that means almost 4 days without hot water. And since this water heater was a warranty replacement for a previous one that went bad they will not cover the cost of replacement parts for the thermopile. Lesson learned: No more Whirlpool purchases for any of their appliances.

I soaked some whites in Clorox overnight and ran through using Tide and Downy. Then the stains and dirt were still there. I ran them again it was not any better. I am extremely disappointed in my new Whirlpool washer dryer matched set. My washer started to leak at less than 6 months of age, and my clothes are extremely wrinkled due to excessive spin and smell absolutely foul. I have adjusted the spin cycle to the lowest setting to prevent wrinkling as suggested in the product materials. I have cleaned the washer with the recommended product on the clean washer setting, although now with the leak, that means a good floor mopping too!I have contacted customer service about the leak since the machine is still under warranty - and they gave me a 4-hour window on a specified day for the service. I took the time off work and the technician failed to show. I called twice to follow up on his whereabouts and ETA. They did nothing except tell me to keep waiting. 45 minutes after the outside hour of arrival had passed, I called again. The customer service offered to make me another appointment so I could take another half day off work and hope he would show up the next time. When I asked for a preferential booking (with a real time) to minimize taking more time off work, the manager said all she could do was give me another 4-hour window. I said that was really bad service and she hung up on me! Another rep did do a little better - he sent me a name and number and said I could try to book an appointment directly and hopefully minimize the additional time off. Its the last Whirlpool appliance Ill buy - with that kind of customer service, Id rather be out pounding my laundry on a rock.

I have a similar problem with my stainless steel Whirlpool bottom freezer refrigerator, model EB9FVHRWS01, purchased in May 2011 from Sears Canada. Exactly a year later, right after the warranty expired, I started getting ice forming on the floor under the bottom freezer. I have been cleaning it out on a weekly basis for the past just over a year. If I dont clean it out, then water seeps out onto the floor. I purchased an extended warranty for my new stove but didnt for my fridge.A co-worker had the exact same problem, with ice forming on the bottom freezer exactly a year later. He purchased the extended warranty and had the Sears repairman come in and replace a $50 part (box in back) ($150 labour). The repairman said this is a manufacturers defect in these fridges and theyve had many such cases. Apparently, the box in the back freezes up and water cant drain to where its supposed to go to be evaporated so it drips to the bottom of the freezer. I contacted Whirlpool and inquired, and they said there was no defect or noted problems with my model. Now Im contemplating whether or not I should spend the $200 and get the defective part replaced. Sigh.

Whirlpool Gold Series French door, bottom freezer. - This fridge is beautiful. Thats as far as the pros go for it. The Freon is leaking and cant be repaired because of where the leak is coming from. I can always tell when its time for a recharge because it leaks water profusely when at a low charge (every 4 to 6 weeks). We paid over $1800 for this fridge back in 2013. It has been just over two years and we are now having to replace this fridge. I cant express my frustration at this point. Whirlpool wont do anything to help us. Over $1250 a year when you consider the service calls along with it. I will not purchase another Whirlpool product ever again. Well, I read most of the complaints with the failures in the machine. I guess most of them didnt last long enough to rate their performance so here we go. I bought a Cabrio top loader, high-E washer a couple of years ago. This one had a different kind of agitator - it was just a couple of inches or so off the bottom. I specifically bought this to wash comforters and it seemed like it was good for that (rousing agreement from the salesperson). So after a couple of years of working with it, here are my observations:Pros: There are absolutely none!Cons: Okay, other than not having control over the settings (cannot override any of the preprogrammed wash settings), it simply doesnt get loads clean (yes, I use expensive HE detergent). Except for the bulky setting, there is never enough water to wash and rinse the loads properly. Next, it makes a mess of the clothes. At the end of the cycle, and this is true no matter what I wash or how large or small the load is or which cycle I pick - even light and slow spin, it just makes a tangled mess of the load. Stuff gets stuck inside of other stuff, wrapped around other stuff or are balled up. Never have I seen this type of issue. I constantly get the unbalanced load notice and have to manually redistribute the clothes most of the time.To address the too little water level, there are two options. I have discovered that the bulky setting has the highest water level, so I use that most of the time. From time to time (when I need different water temps or just want more water), I have developed a work-around by putting a Y adapter on the hot water inlet and a short hose. Once the washer starts the wash cycle, I stop it and add a bit of hot water to bring the level up enough to do a decent wash job - same for the rinse cycle. So much for Whirlpools water efficiency.Next, the hot isnt hot. Its barely lukewarm. So I turn the cold down to a trickle and I get a bit hotter water. It takes forever to rinse though. Its a good thing Im semi-retired. Next is the inflexible cycle/water selector. I have never had a washer I couldnt override to tell it what to do in unusual circumstances. Boy, what rocket scientist at Whirlpool dreamed that up!But above all, this just doesnt get loads clean. I have experimented with all the variables, load size, cycle selection, detergents, etc. Most of the time, I have to do two cycles with my loads and these are not unusual or extremely dirty loads. They are just normal, everyday laundry for an adult couple. Really, Whirlpool! Who was the conceptual designer on this? Thank goodness they werent working on the space shuttle or some disease research.Bottom line, I am so soured on the design and performance of this product that I will never buy another Whirlpool product, either brand name or generic (Sears). I just cant understand how a company would let something like this out the door.

I have a Whirlpool suite. Stove is fine...refrigerator is awful. Froze all the food in fridge. Cost me 100’s to replace. Put in new thermostat. Now sounds like a freight train. Bought in April and the filter already needs to be replaced to the tune of $81.

I have an oven that is just under two years old - a Whirlpool. After less than a year, the sensor went out and had to be replaced. After less than one more year, the same thing has happened. They covered the first one, but wont help with labor or parts on this one. There is no user error. Its just a cheaply constructed oven.

ED5PHEXNK00 Stainless Steel side by side Refrigerator bought in 2004, look
ED5PHEXNK00 Stainless Steel side by side Refrigerator bought in 2004, look out!The refrigerator caught fire today and there was smoke everywhere. Had I not been home, damage would have been out of control. I traced the smoke to the bottom of the refrigerator. I pulled the unit out from the wall and unplugged the power to the unit. My unit is out of warranty and past the extended Lowes warranty. The repair diagnosis is $100 to start.Whirlpool has recalled its other brands (Maytag, etc.) for this same problem but not its Whirlpool brand. Our problem is the same problem with hundreds of other people: Whirlpool fridges burning, smoking, and being a life threatening hazard to families all over America because of the faulty relay to compressor. Whirlpool better recall this model. They need to fix this or they will have much bigger issues to deal with (corporate manslaughter from a known issue and no action or protection for its consumers). The refrigerator is a result of Whirlpool’s negligence; thus, it’s potentially deadly.

I was so excited for this stove top and oven - Whirlpool Gold AccuBake (especially at the price we paid for it!). Weve owned it for 13 years now, and in that 13 years, we have had to have the computer replaced 6 times now. The latest replacement being last week (Friday). The oven is still making clicking noises like the igniter wants to start and it is frustrating and annoying. It will do this for a 3-hour stretch numerous times throughout the day and night. Had a repairman here last week and he replaced the computer AGAIN! But the igniter clicking noise continues.

Seems to use very little water. When I take the clothes out, they are bone dry in places which means they havent even seen any water! Clean (?) clothes end up smelling musty and I end up having to wash them two or three times which completely goes against any eco argument! I am really disappointed with this product and would never buy Whirlpool again. I have just washed our dog blankets. The cycle finished so took them out, had to check that the detergent had been used as the blankets were almost completely dry. The blankets still completely smell of dog so have had to put them through another wash (with more detergent – waste of money) and with a pre-wash cycle. Rubbish! We also have a Whirlpool drier and that is no better. Washing never comes out completely dry. It always has to be fully aired, sometimes more than others. There is no consistency in how wet or dry the clothes come out. Avoid at all costs.

I bought this Whirlpool Duet Sport washer and dryer, and I have had to constantly bleach out because our laundry smells like mold. I found out that Tide sells a special cleanser for this washer so I have been using that for the past two years. It did not really help. Well, today I accidentally put laundry soap in the wrong dispenser, so I took the dispenser out and was horrified to find mold that was all in the back where the fluid is dispensed, I mean way back in there. I have been suffering with sinus problems, and swelling in my eyes and face. I even went to the doctor, but no one has figured out why. I now know it is the mold from my washer making me sick. Well, my son and daughter-in-law were staying with me, and commented on how bad it was when they used my towels. I am stuck with a $1,600 washer and dryer that is making my family sick.

The electric range was purchased June 2011. In June 2012, I purchased the extended warranty from Whirlpool (or their agent). The range is located in a summer cottage, so it has minimal use. I cleaned the self-clean oven last week after carefully reading the manual. Manual did not state to remove the chrome drip pans on the top, just “remove oven racks and storage drawer contents”. The oven cleaning caused the right rear burner pan to turn bronze/black. I called Whirlpool. I was referred to Warranty folks who told me they will not cover it because it is cosmetic and referred me back to Whirlpool (as it was WP instructions that were incorrect!) I called Whirlpool and they will not replace the chrome pan. I can purchase one. This is not my fault as aforementioned. I have been a Whirlpool customer for years. I will never buy another WP product. If they cannot write the instructions correctly, it makes we wonder about the product.

I hate my Cabrio units. Dont waste your money on these machines. I stay frustrated because I have to work so hard doing my laundry. Clothes not clean, laundry liquid on clothes, parts of clothes not even wet, debris left on dark colors from spin cycle, lint all over dark clothes from dryer! Mad in Texas.

I purchased a dishwasher from Menards. It was a top of the line Whirlpool Dishwasher. We ordered new cabinets for a kitchen upgrade and when the cabinets arrived they were damaged during Thanksgiving holiday. We purchased the dishwasher and it sat in our garage until the second set of cabinets arrived in mid January.Once the GC installed the new cabinets we noticed a small dent in the front of the stainless steel dishwasher. I notified Whirlpool and they took my model and serial number. The supervisor April said there is nothing that I can do. You passed the 30 day cosmetic warranty. I explained the issue to her and she didnt seem to care. The dishwasher sat in the garage for 7-8 weeks. This is not the consumers fault. This company could of sent a service mechanic out and replaced the front panel. But she chose to ready some meaningless policy to me. I will never buy a Whirlpool product again, and I will tell everyone about the poor and unprofessional service that Whirlpool offers.

My Side-by-Side Whirlpool fridge which I bought very expensive in Colombia
My Side-by-Side Whirlpool fridge which I bought very expensive in Colombia one year ago had the glass shelves totally cloudy and foggy. You could hardly see what was inside. 8 technicians were sent through the authorized center to meet warranties to check the fridge. The first 7 technicians(!) did not have a clue of what the problem was. After many calls, they sent a supervisor who discovered the problem and finally, after 10 months of this battle, they changed the fridge for a new one. But guess what?! I received the new fridge 2 weeks ago and the new one has exactly the same problem. I am very disappointed and I do not know what to do at this point. Going through the same process again makes me sick but losing my money and all the time invested in this product makes me furious. Is there any way that Whirlpool can help me through this forum?

I bought a top of the line Whirlpool front load washing machine (WFW97HEDW0
I bought a top of the line Whirlpool front load washing machine (WFW97HEDW0) and drier with my new construction house. After a few months the washing machine began making a loud, banging noise during the spin cycle. Then about a month before the 1 year was up the unit broke and dumped all the water in the drum into the catch pan it was installed on. I called for service and someone showed up in about 3 days. The tech opened the unit and found that the plastic/composite drum the spin unit was contained in split in half all the way around. The tech exclaimed he had never come across this issue and would report in what he found but that he did not have the part and it would most likely be a whole new unit but that its up to whirlpool to make the call. I would find out that whirlpool had decided that the unit can be fixed and they have ordered the part and would call to schedule the repair.A week went by, with no word. I called warranty service company, Via Services, and they tell me that the part is on back order and that it would be two more weeks before it would come in. Now were looking at being without a washing machine for a month. I communicate this to the builder and they somehow get whirlpool to come out a week earlier than they said they could. The day came for the repair and two techs take nearly 8 hours to repair the unit (how is this efficient?).After the repair the unit ran with an odd noise that I attributed to the way it was stacked. A month goes by and two days after the 30 day repair warranty I go to do a load of laundry and the unit turns on but wont run. I called for warranty work because it was clearly not repaired sufficiently. I schedule a tech visit which is for a week after. The day come and the tech says he cant fix the unit without charging me for the repair because it is now out of warranty and if I have the extended warranty then I need to set that up with the extended warranty group. I send him away because I had just paid for the extended warranty. I called whirlpool for the extended warranty work and they schedule a repair contractor to come out in 3 days. The repair contractor calls me directly to confirm if the unit is side by side or stacked. I let them know that the units are stacked and they say they cant repair it because its a two tech job and they dont have enough techs. They send me back to talk to whirlpool. Whirlpool then notifies me that because its stacked I have to either unstack it myself or hire someone to unstack it for me. Well, I cant unstack the unit by myself and why should I have to pay someone to unstack it when thats what the unit was designed for? At this point I am going back and forth with the builder to get a refund so I can replace the unit. I will forever steer clear of any whirlpool or subsidiary products. The products are flimsy and the service is no better.

Had them come out numerous times and last guy changed out entire motherboard to no avail. Freezer side freezes and then thaws. Now it is just a two sided refrigerator. Before Thanksgiving I was promised new refrigerator and none arrive after phone calls. No refrigerator for thanksgiving. None for Christmas. Finally today at 7:00 this evening January 17 2020 it arrives. I am suppose to be in bed. I have two terminal illnesses. I moved out boxes of stuff out of refrigerator. Installer came in and said I had to move stuff on the porch that they are not allowed to. I get all done, finally sit down and he comes in and says there’s a big ding in bottom of refrigerator. No idea when another refrigerator would come. Who is going to put all my furniture back? Who is going to put my food back in my refrigerator. I bought the entire Whirlpool package Made In America. I should have went cheaper and bought from China. Now there’s trouble with dishwasher and they have been out once already for that. I could worry about taking care of my health if I didn’t spend all my time dealing with whirlpool. Maybe they can bury me in the refrigerator and my daughter won’t have to buy a coffin. I make 1000 a month on disability and get 16 dollars in food stamps. I have thrown 1000s of dollars away after motherboard was fixed. I went and my friend helped and bought new groceries. One day took out a frozen burrito and as I was putting it in microwave I noticed it had mold all over it. Another food dump. Whirlpool pool answering phone says whirlpool cares. Well they don’t care about me.

Appliance repairman is coming tomorrow. Washer is less than 2 years old and will stop mid-cycle more than once (I re-start it)... At first when I thought the cycle was done I would get ready to move the clothes to the dryer and realize they were all soapy and sometimes they were just massively soaked so something is not working right. Sensor?? Hopefully not the computer panel as that will be too expensive to repair.
