Bought this machine in July 2015 to replace LG front loader that went bad.
Bought this machine in July 2015 to replace LG front loader that went bad. This machine is the worst at rinsing the soap out of dark clothes, and probably the whites and lights too! Dark clothes always have white streaks and spots all over them. Called Customer Service and was told it was due to too much soap, the way the clothes were loaded, needed to add an extra rinse cycle to load, and/or because there is a water softener in the home. Have changed soaps 3x, changed the way I was loading the clothes, and I doubt the water softener has anything to do with this problem. I dont see how adding an extra cycle is efficient and seems wasteful. This machine is horrible and whether I just got a lemon or if its a defect in this machine, I dont know. Whirlpool doesnt seem to care either. I am going to attempt to sell this one and will not consider Whirlpool for the next one. Do not buy this machine!!

The American Standard 95% 2 stage variable furnace is by far my favorite furnace to install. I know exactly what to expect from this furnace and I have had zero factory issues with this model. Outside of making a few sheet metal transitions this American Standard standard 95% furnace was very easy to install as well. And like the 2 stage variable … no factory issues.

My husband and I purchased a Whirlpool Refrigerator, model number GI6SARXXF
My husband and I purchased a Whirlpool Refrigerator, model number GI6SARXXF04, serial number K20311478 on February 3, 2012. It was delivered soon after. In April of 2012 our ice maker quit working. We called The Appliance Doctor for service. They reset the control, and left saying that they thought it was fixed. The ice maker as a result was not fixed. They came out again, and stated that the ice maker needed to be replaced altogether. So they ordered the part and we waited for two weeks for it to arrive and be installed. By this time it was April 23, 2012.Then in June of 2013 we began having water pool in the bottom of the refrigerator and freeze, and water began to leak onto our hardwood floors causing them to buckle. We cleaned it up for a while thinking perhaps something had spilled, and busted up the ice on our own. The beginning of 2014 we called for service from Lanny Adams Appliance. The technician worked on it and stated that something was plugged up in the water line and he thought it was fixed, we paid for this service on our own. On August 14, 2014 we had another technician come out because it was not fixed. The technician came out and stated that it would cost another $219.95. He further stated that he thought that there was a recall of some kind, that I should look into it. I did look into it and printed out the Technical Service Pointer that was produced in November of 2013. When I called Whirlpool at that point, someone was sent to fix it. Of course I had already paid to have it repaired in February of 2014, Whirlpool stated that it was not their responsibility, which again it was not fixed until August of 2014. As a further note, my floors were never fixed because I have hardwood floors throughout my house and simply cannot fix the area in front of the refrigerator. My floor had just been refinished, and after speaking with the floor company that had just refinished my floors a few months earlier, they stated all of the floors would have to be redone or it would not match. Figuring Whirlpool is definitely not going to pay for that, I have just dealt with it, since it cost me over $3000.00 to have the floors refinished. Now, it is February of 2015 and the whole refrigerator is not cooling, and the freezer is not freezing. Again, I woke up to water in the floor on my hardwood floors, and have had to move all of my food to my ten year old Frigidaire refrigerator that is in my basement and has NEVER had a service call. After speaking with service company, they state it will cost $1200.00 to fix the refrigerator....REALLY? So, now I get to go spend a lot more money for a new appliance. You can bet it WILL NOT be a Whirlpool!I contacted Whirlpool again, and I spoke with Robin in your Customer Service Department after speaking with one of your Customer Service Representatives that stated I was basically on my own with the repairs. Robin stated that there was nothing Whirlpool would do, but she would agree to pay for parts and I will be left with the repair labor. Although your company may think that this is good customer service, I have to disagree given the fact that I have had nothing but consistent problems with the refrigerator since I bought it. At this point, I would like to ask you if in your opinion this is a good appliance? I asked Robin and she stated that I needed to buy an extended warranty. Dont you realize it isnt about the warranty? It is about the fact that I have had the appliance for 3 years and have had consistent problems. I believe the refrigerator is a lemon, and I would like it replaced.I have always trusted the Whirlpool name, but at this point, I do not see myself buying another Whirlpool appliance.

The ice maker only makes enough ice for two small glasses. I wish Whirlpool would buy it back and let me buy a new side-by-side. I have to buy bags of ice because of this. I truly am very unhappy with this Whirlpool with the freezer at the bottom. For what I paid for it, this refrigerator is not worth the money. The model is G165DRXY07.

I count myself as lucky... my Whirlpool 465 Accubake Ceramic Cooktop stove
I count myself as lucky... my Whirlpool 465 Accubake Ceramic Cooktop stove was given to me. I have used it for 3 years. One day, out of the blue, the oven, which was in use, started clanging loud and jumping up and down. I started screaming & tried to cut it off & it would not go off. I ran to the panel box & threw the breaker. It also burned my food that was cooking. It did it several times. Then I decided to not cut the light on or touch the button to raise the temp. It has not done it since. I bake everything on 350 degrees and immediately throw the breaker. I am scared of this stove and plan to replace it. I will NOT buy a Whirlpool, anything. (washer/dryer/fridge/aircon)....once bitten...

I purchased a Whirlpool dryer about 18 months ago. Within 2 months the timer went out. Of course I am still under the manufacturer warranty they came and fixed it. Now a year after the same problem occur. Whirlpool convinced me to buy and extended warranty for $268.00 and scheduled service with Platinum Factory. Took a day off work, then they call me to cancel the appointment. I will advised people not to buy Whirlpool appliances because that is not the appliance I have with them. All whirlpool appliances have a defect. My refrigerator, my washer and dryer, my microwave all have issues. Most of the whirlpool at all. Services agents are rude and not professional. One agent from Tennessee had the nerve to tell me I have to lose money to get services right. When asked to cancel service plan I was told to write a letter to get my money back. My advice if you are in the process of changing your appliances DO NOT BUY WHIRLPOOL APPLIANCES because your problem will not be resolve by talking to those stupid agents and will not let you talk to a supervisor.

2007 we purchase a Whirlpool Casio washing machine. Rusted out in three years. 2008 we purchase Whirlpool gold dishwasher. In two years the front panel rusted out. We replaced this panel and now the second one has rusted out. According to Whirlpool they do not cover rust. When we replace the washer it was with a Samsung. NO SIGNS OR RUST IN THE LAST THREE YEARS. When we replace the dishwasher it will not be a Whirlpool. As far as I am concerned, Whirlpool products are junk.

Approximately 2 years after purchasing a Whirlpool Gold Bottom Freezer refrigerator, I noticed cracks/openings on the interior walls on the ledge that holds the glass shelf! It is completely Crushing the styrofoam inside the refrig? Also, signs of being Cheaply made veggie bins are held in place by a piece of plastic that cracked after a few months. This was in 2011. First, I contacted the service contract people. They told me this was not covered under the policy. Next, I wrote & called the company. The walls show the styrofoam stuffing in the refrig. The shelves rest on these openings in the vinyl walls of the refrig box. This is a disaster and the refrig was 1400$$$. I have extended warranty which does not cover structure!!! What can one do with a New expensive refrigerator that has cracks in the Wall of the refrigeration box? Is there a class action suit anywhere that I can join?

I purchased a brand new refrigerator model # WRX735SDBM00 Ser # K51621170 on 30 June at Lowes. Paid about 1600.00. Within 5 days the ice maker was no longer functioning. I called the service department and a lengthy ordeal commenced of trying to repair. It is now 13 August 2015 and I have had over 10 visits from a technician and I still have no ice. I made a terrible mistake in not returning the appliance to the store within 30 days so now it has to go through the process which means that now I have to continue to wait until the technicians deem that this appliance is not repairable anymore before I can attempt to get a replacement. In the meantime, we have been inconvenienced, aggravated not to mention not be provided a product that works with no future date where I can get this appliance repaired. The local store management have been great to deal with and are trying but their hands are tied until the manufacturer determines they cant fix. In the meantime, the consumer is continuing to wait for the repair/replacement. No one seems to care or has there been any discussion of some compensation (not necessarily money) for the aggravation and inconvenience I have endured. Something is just not right. Suffice to say, never again will I buy a Whirlpool. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE.

This fridge is very spacious in the fridge area. The freezer area is larger than a model with freeZer on top or a side by side model. The black stainless steel is very attractive and doesn’t show fingerprints. The controls for the fruit and veggie drawers are cheap. The drawer for meats and cheese is huge. Overall I like this fridge.

Six months after purchasing my Whirlpool Washer model number WTW5000DW0 I would hear what sounded like rocks in the bottom of spin drum during spin cycles. Then noticed it was taking longer for clothes to wash and sometimes the water did not completely drain. Called for Service under LOWES warranty (the worst people to deal with). Tech comes removes a penny and dime and tells me that is the problem. Leaves. 45 minutes after he leaves there is the noise again. Call and set up for this Service Company to come back. Even though they went out of business prior to the appointment Lowes Service would not listen to me and insisted I stay home ALL DAY for someone who did not show up. Repeated calls to the Service Company resulted in nothing - phone disconnected. So finally after much frustration I am given new appointment with new Service Company - PARRISH. Tech comes in here five minutes and wants to know the sound, I explain. He checks out the unit and tells me it is a major problem and the part and labor will be costly. Best if they just replace the machine. His added comment - I see a lot of this. So if this machine is such a problem why was it not recalled? I am getting a replacement as I have warranty and machine was not a year old when problem started. Lowes Service Contract is another problem but I will deal with that later.

My Whirlpool gas range was installed in December 2008. The control panel for the oven has now died for the third time! Push the buttons to set the temperature and nothing happens. The first time the control panel died, Whirlpool replaced the parts. The second time it happened (6 months later), they didnt want to hear from me. The oven worked satisfactorily for about three years and here we are again. It will be about $500 to fix the problem which clearly is not an isolated issue as I have seen this same complaint raised a number of times. Looks like its time for a new gas range. My dilemma is that I have the greatest serviceman who exists... and he only sells and services Whirlpool. But...thanks to Whirlpool, hes probably losing some business.

After replacing our competent GE dishwasher with a Samsung dishwasher and having to replace it immediately due to the terrible job it did, we bought a Whirlpool Gold Series (stainless tub) for just under $400. I realize this is the bottom of the stainless tub price point, but we have been so disappointed! The silverware container sites outside the regular tub, and rarely cleans even easy substances to remove, if there are more than a few items in each container. Dishes on the other levels are very hit or miss -- each and every load has to be examined for dirty dishes. Id pull this one out and return it too if it werent such a hassle. Dont buy this product.

Purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio Washer 5 years ago because our other washer died after coming home from vacation. Its just 2 people in this household so I dont do mountains of laundry. The other machine lasted 15 years so go figure. We purchased the Cabrio from Lowes. Got the extended warranty but as it goes the machine fails when all warranties expires. Over the last couple of weeks this machine started to not complete a wash cycle. All lights go off except for spin light and machine stops. Even asked the person in charge of washers and dryers at Lowes about this who then told me to get an extension cord and plug it into a different outlet. Seriously! I have had to unplug the machine after it fails to complete cycle, wait 5 minutes or so, plug it back in, select rinse and spin, it fails again 13 minutes left in cycle, unplug again, plug it back in, select drain and spin, wait for it to MAYBE complete that cycle. Do not purchase this type of machine. Just for a technician to come look at it is $100 or more and to replace whatever circuit board is probably another $300 or more. Screw that! Going to find a good old fashion one if possible. Piece of junk. Not going to spend $700 or $1000 just to wash clothes for 2 people.

Whirlpool Microwave WMH1164XWS-1 - Well, Im sure surprised that my almost five year old Whirlpool microwave failed to heat this evening. One minute it worked, next it didnt. Watched countless repair videos, but it seems more aggravation taking the unit out and trying to diagnose the issue than its worth. Probably the same with enlisting the services of a repair tech. Ill probably think twice about purchasing another Whirlpool microwave. I purchased a Whirlpool French Door Refrigerator a few months ago and now Im concerned Ill have the same issues. All my appliances were Whirlpool and purchased ten years ago and replaced with newer models, even though I never had any repair issues. Guess they dont make them like they used to!

We purchased in July 2016 from Best Buy. Very nice product. Our former Whirlpool had lasted 20 years and was a work horse for our family. The new one began not freezing ice cream in November. Then, it would periodically freeze things very well and then not freeze items fully. We contacted Best Buy thinking we had a lemon. Worthless - no help. Told us to contact Whirlpool directly. The repair person came out today and told us that our refrigerator cannot be in our garage outdoors because the energy efficiency of the refrigerator causes it to shut off when the surrounding temp drops below 54F. Our former Whirlpool had been outdoors in our garage in that spot for 18 years, no problems. The new models now no longer operate if the air cools down around them. What!? There is no warning information, no sales information, no way to learn this until after you shell out 1000 dollars and lose your frozen food. It is in the manual in fine print, but we didnt read the manual cover to cover when we got the refrigerator, and we sure didnt read it BEFORE we bought it. And no one at the store, nor the installation people who represented Best Buy as paid installers told me I couldnt have this outside, even though I specifically told them I was buying it for our outside extra fridge and freezer to replace the old one, and the installers installed it outside. Technically our refrigerator is working as its supposed to apparently. However, I think it should prominently be noted on pre-sales materials that it must be operated indoors only (in climates always >54 degrees). Now I have a new refrigerator that I cant use as an extra in our garage. Apparently all the new fridges are energy efficient like this and shut off below 54. I cannot find any info on the internet about this, or any other complaints about a similar situation to mine. How does that make any sense? Freezing is 32 so any frozen goods will thaw, by default, always, if the machine is in cool environments. Phooey on this design spec. Dumb engineers.

I have had 10 parts replaced and had to be out a washer for a month at one given time. I have had the repair company email me all the parts and services that they have done. All I want is a new washer! I bought my Whirlpool Convection oven in mid August 2019 from Lowes. I have had to call no less than 5 times about my NEW oven which I am extremely remorseful of buying. I am so unhappy with my experience mostly due to my expectation that my new oven would have been able to meet my demanding needs baking and cooking. I would have thought that it would have lasted longer than 4-5 months. The bottom left hinge is faulty which I am told is an undocumented problem for this particular oven. I noticed that it was having a problem when the oven wasn’t quite making a seal. Slowly it got worse until now it makes an initial click then I can open it about 5 to 6 inches and then have to lift it up so that I can open it without making a horrible noise and a dent in the frame. The first time I called was on Saturday Jan 4th. It took me 1 hour to get through to speak to a person. I asked why I couldn’t get a new door to the oven and they told me the hinges have to be installed separately because this model is made to be able to take the door off for cleaning purposes. They set me up for service on Wed Jan 8th between 12 and 4p. I wasn’t as unhappy at this point. I even got a text saying that the appliance company would be coming between 12 and 2. At 12 when I woke up after working nights, I got a message saying that they hadn’t received the part yet and that there would be no point in them coming. I called Whirlpool again and they told me that the part was on backorder and that in fact the part had to be fabricated and it may take up to 10 business days but that they would have the part sent directly to my house. By this stage I am very unhappy.I called back this morning and told the person that I would rather have a new oven or my money back and that my less expensive and less decorative oven that came with my house lasted me 20 yrs. I get a lot of “I’m sorry” and “I apologize” but that doesn’t fix my problem. I also told them that now the frame of the oven is being dented so I am going to have a less than perfect appliance which is no fault of my own. The only info the person could give me is the tracking number of the part they were able to locate which would be coming Fedex.I tracked it and it was due to come no later than Tuesday night. So I called the original service company in my area who told me to call to set up the service time when the part came in. I figured I would get a jump on it and call. They told me that they were all booked up this week and I would have to wait until next week. Do you think that this is how your customers should be treated? I feel as though I am being punished by choosing to buy an appliance from Whirlpool. I then tried calling back to set up an appt with a new company but the wait time was too long. I had just worked nights and needed to get some sleep. I called back this afternoon and again had to explain the whole situation AGAIN. I was able to set up an appt with a different company for Monday between 12 and 4 which happens to be on Martin Luther King day…so I am hoping it is not a mistake.Do you think this is fair treatment for a customer who just bought a brand new oven less than 5 months ago? Would you like this type of service? Would this give you any confidence to buy products from Whirlpool? I don’t believe that I would be able to recommend Whirlpool in good faith. The people who I have talked to have never been rude or disrespectful however, I feel as though my unhappiness is just par for the course. I feel as though it is just my tough luck and “oh well so sorry” instead of the attitude that you want to make everything right as quickly as possible. I ask myself if the problem was the store I chose to buy from? If I should have gone to Sears and bought one of their products or where I went wrong.

Whirlpool WRT351SFYW 21.1 Cu. Ft. White Top Freezer Refrigerator - Energy... puts out a very irritating high pitch noise, unlike my previous Whirlpool fridge. The old one was perfectly quiet. I believe Whirlpool is going downhill in every way. WP is buying refrigerators from 3rd world countries and slapping the name on them. The delivery people were very rude with me when I was unable to give them a tip, even though I had to supply my truck to shuttle the fridge up to my house and help them unload it. I also had to go and find them when they would not follow my directions to my house. So, they kept the wrench I loaned them; they did not have their own tools for the installation. And they refused to return it when I asked them to do so. Denvers Customer Service refused to respond in any way to my requests for information or complaints about the noise and delivery. Finally, their head office contacted me a month or two later, and the customer service person had initiated the discussion in argumentative attitude despite my saying I did not care anymore, I gave up on them and dont expect anything from Whirlpool anymore. While she told me that there are standard levels of acceptable noise that come from their refrigerator, while, she refused to acknowledge that they are not my standards, and I am the customer, besides, I had an older Whirlpool fridge that did not make any noise. I am sorry trusted WP, when I tried to upgrade the old fridge - it was an expensive downgrade! Buy LG or Amana - wished I did!

We had the refrigerator delivered in March, 2013. We noticed a leak in February 2014, only because we smelled a musty smell in our garage, and removed the rug outside the door, from the garage to the kitchen. Then we started noticing water in the garage. It was shortly after we determined it was the refrigerator. We bought this at Lowes and they use A&E, and they did not show up for the first appt. They did replace the pan a few days later while we had to replace dry wall behind the fridge. This time around (month later) we noticed the fridge/freezer was not cooling. So A&E came out and determined its the compressor. So now we threw out hundreds of dollars of groceries, and water was leaking all over the floor again from ice thawing. I believe the refrigerator has had problems all along. We have had it for one year. I think we should be reimbursed for the compressor! Thats the least Whirlpool can do after losing so much food and money spent on the wall, and all the water mess etc. I will never buy Whirlpool again, and I will never purchase from Lowes again. We always bought at Lowes, but this was a bad experience, and I get told one thing on the phone with reps and another by A&E.

I purchased Whirlpool only front load compact washer in June 2015 and lasted only a year before the door lock broke and getting F6 error that means mother board to be replaced. Whirlpool warranty department (AIG) did not bother to do a complete repair and offer buy out at a 75% of my purchase price. My five year warranty premium cost was not refunded. I do not recommend this model be purchased by anyone. Whirlpool washes its hands on the quality and reliability of its product in US and that is a shame! A service life the unit should be at least 9 years with affordable maintenance cost.

No matter what I do after I wash clothes on quick or deep water cycle or even running the cycle over again, the clothes are left with soap residue. This is very annoying, particularly on dark clothing because it stands out. If I could start over, I would purchase a washer with an agitator. I watch the clothes as it goes through a cycle and the clothes stay in the same position...no wonder they dont get clean. What a ripoff!!

We purchased a top loading Whirlpool Cabrio washing machine, Model #WTW8040DWO from Lowe’s on October 15, 2015. Since that time, we have had a service call on three separate occasions. The last service call, the service technician got Whirlpool on the phone with their technician. The washing machine would get stuck at 40 minutes and would continue to fill with water, drain and fill with water and would never progress. After the service technician talked with Whirlpool technician, it was explained the machines electronics were so sensitive that the washing machine had to be on an independent CIRCUIT (meaning absolutely nothing else can be plugged into the circuit). We contacted Whirlpool indicating that was not acceptable. Very few, if any houses, have a washing machine on an independent CIRCUIT. Whirlpools response - I have an independent circuit for every appliance in the house. Obviously, she does not know what a circuit is. Totally disgusted. Will NEVER buy another whirlpool product again. Horrible product and horrible customer service.

I also fell for the Consumer Reports BEST BUY of the Whirlpool Cabrio set. The dryer has had the heating element replaced 2 times already in 3 years. I am sure this will be removed quickly... But my advice to my fellow consumers is do not purchase Whirlpool appliances. They do not stand behind their products and they are a nightmare to deal with. I purchased my range (Model WEE730H0D50) May 8, 2017 and from that day the oven never work (the board was out on a brand new product). They arranged a service tech to come out 3 times. Each time the service tech discovered the replace board was damaged. So I have not been able to use my oven since I bought it in May. 3 months later now the stove top stopped working. You would think after all these issues they would replace their product. But nope I have to wait 2 weeks to get this lemon serviced again... I have young children at home which makes things worse...

The thermocouple was replaced so many times and there’s the inconvenience of not having hot water. Customer service sucks and they continue to send you to Lowe’s to pick up the part for free. I have 2 more years on the warranty and Im replacing it after its over! 3 days ago my water heater stopped working and now again I will replace the thermocouple. We bought a Whirlpool range with glass cooktop and convection oven to replace a 20 year old stove which had served us reliably but was beginning to look a bit dated and worse for the wear. The new range was installed in February, less than 2 months ago. Today, while I was preparing Easter dinner and had a ham in the oven, the cooktop elements refused to heat, even though the cooktop on light was lit up. We followed all the troubleshooting tips we could find in the user manual and online, but nothing worked. We decided to do the rest of the meal in the microwave and just finish the ham in the oven (which had been working). Then the oven failed, and would not heat back up.As a last resort, we pulled the range out and unplugged it, to perform a hard reset of the electronics. (This was recommended in some of the online troubleshooting tips.) No joy. Both the oven and cooktop elements will not heat, even though the lights on the control panel light up. Now we have to call a service technician to come fix it in the middle of a pandemic. How can a brand new and expensive range be less reliable and less useful than the cheap 20 year old stove we just got rid of?

I have used Kenmore products for about 50 years, so when it came time to replace my old washer I looked at Kenmore/Whirlpool. I upgraded to the top of the line. I had been warned by 2 service techs (2 different companies) that had tried to keep my old Kenmore alive that the new ones are not up to par compared to the old ones. The first very small load that I tried, was not even thoroughly wet when I took it out to put in the dryer. 1st service call, tech suggested that I put machine on extra water. That helped sort of. A few weeks later, wash is not getting clean. Called Whirlpool, they suggested getting the washer cleaner and clean the washer. Went out and bought a special cleaner, $10-12 and two cleanings later using the extra water and extra wash water I now was getting cleaner clothes. They said I would need to clean the washer every 2 to 4 weeks. I have continued to use washer but frequently have to rewash about 1 in every 5 to 10 loads as it doesnt always clean everything in the load. Called the Co., they sent service out, they said its OK!In Jan. We went out of town for 2 weeks. The washer had not been used for 4 days before we left. Came home to water all over the floor which are hardwood. Needless to say our hardwood is all warped! Service came out, ran the washer for about 15 min. and said it was fine, nothing wrong! Called Whirlpool again! Washer is now out of warranty. They said call a local service, out of their hands as it is out of warranty! Nothing more than they can do.I have used Kenmore/Whirlpool Appliances all my life and they have been wonderful. The new ones are garbage as far as I can tell. I have a Refer that is now 3-4 years old and I have had problems with that, a new dishwasher that is 2ish and have had service out on that one, now my brand new washer top of the line and it is so bad I am afraid to use it unless I am sitting right in front of it watching it! Further if you have the rinse cycle on the clothes come out so wrinkled that you need to get out your iron out and iron everything including sheets and linens. Lucky that I did not replace my old dryer! Do I recommend Whirlpool anymore? Not on your life. I wish I knew what to replace them with!

DO NOT BUY THIS DISHWASHER (Whirlpool Gold Series dishwasher)!!! We bought a camp with this dishwasher in it brand new. It has been serviced three times in the past year because the dishes (especially utensils) do not dry. The service company first said it was because I needed to use jet dry. What a joke! I told them I was using jet dry so they sent a service man out. He had to read a manual in order to try and figure out what was wrong with it. He then decided the entire motherboard needed replacing and he would order the part. He came back, replaced the part and it still did not fix the problem.I called again to complain so they sent another service man out and he said the drying air vent may not be working. They came back out to replace it weeks later because the part was on back order. Wonder Why??? I still have to dry the utensils every time I run the dishwasher. The interior walls of the dishwasher are wet even after running through the drying cycle. Either this dishwasher is a lemon or Whirlpool is selling a dishwasher that does not dry to the consumers!!! So BEWARE!!!

Whirlpool gold series bottom freezer unit - We have had numerous problems with this refrigerator. We have had several repairs done on it and have still not solved the problem. The defroster does not work right and we have to unplug it so it will unthaw, then the refrigerator gets cold again. The freezer when it is acting up freezes food and ice cream so hard it is inedible. We have just purchased a different refrigerator. This Whirlpool model has also been discontinued from what I can find. No doubt because of a design flaw. Why are they not responsible for this? We bought this appliance in good faith.

I called 911 and they sent out a fire engine. While waiting for the firemen to arrive, my neighbor came to help me determine where the smell was coming from. Within seconds, we heard loud clicks and a huge cloud of gray smoke came out from behind the refrigerator. The firemen arrived, entered the house, unplugged the refrigerator and told me that the smoke and smell was coming from behind the fridge.

They said there is nothing that they will do and it cant be returned to the store. So, what am I supposed to do with this water heater now? Before I knew this was going to happen, I purchased a 50-gallon Whirlpool water heater as well. So now, I have the 50-gallon that I have had to replace the element for already and I have only had it for less than a month and a half, and the 12-gallon is just sitting in my garage. I bought it to wash heavy loads of jeans and it takes me all day to wash 1 load because it is always out of balance. No matter what setting I put it on I have to keep rearranging the load. Without putting up with that, the load takes 87 minutes on bulky wash. That is far too long and then you add all the time I spend rearranging it to get it to work. When the extended service plans tech came to see it he told me that the ice bucket would have to be ordered. Almost a month later, I called him and was told that rust isnt covered. I understand that surface or cosmetic rust shouldnt be covered, but rust in a place where it can be ingested is different. Anyway, I called Whirlpool directly and a very nice phone rep agreed with me and asked her supervisor. Needless to say, I just sent Whirlpool a letter stating that I would pursue this through legal channels if I dont get satisfaction.

I am writing to you all today to urge you to not purchase Whirlpool products specifically Whirlpool 2-cu ft High-Efficiency Front-Load Washer. I purchased a front loader washing machine for our tenants through Sears back in June of 2013. When it was hooked up it had an error code on it so we contacted Sears and 3 weeks later they sent out a repairman telling us it needed a new motor (this machine had not even washed 1 load of laundry). They ordered the part and Sears paid 1200 to replace a part on an 800.00 washer.....yeah I know dumb right. Well the part replacement did not work. (Surprised) They ordered and delivered a new washer 1 month later....same error code. Lets try again with another washer......same error code. How about another one......water would not stop running into the machine because the sensor was broken. Wait we are not done how about another one.....same error code. No I am not kidding, 10 months later 5 washing machines and my tenants have yet to have been able to wash a single load of laundry. I have been reimbursing my tenants every month for not having a washer for the past 10 months. I finally had Sears reimburse for the washer which they will pick up soon. I am out all the interest for the past 10 months for a product never used. To top it all off I called Whirlpool directly to see if they would be willing to at least give me a coupon for any amount toward the purchase of a different washer. They told me quote We dont do anything to compensate our customer for their troubles. That is the icing on the cake folks!!! I will never purchase another Whirlpool product and I encourage you all to not as well. I want to show them how not caring for their customers can impact them. Please share if you can, but more importantly please pass the word!!!!!

I join the many who have posted about the Whirlpool Cabrio Washer cracked lid issue. Our Whirlpool Cabrio WTW7800XW2 glass-lid washer suffered the same (inevitable) fate – cracked plastic on the lid at the hinge stress points, after the washer was beyond warranty. Same story - runaround/no help from Whirlpool. Finally bit the bullet and shelled out the $200 for a new lid. HOWEVER, I didnt want to just replace it and have the same issue down the road. I removed the spring-loaded units that support the hinges, hoping to just remove the springs to release the pressure. I found that the springs are integral to holding all the components together in this unit. These are extremely heavy-duty extension springs, so I took them to my hardware store (TrueValue) and found springs the exact same length, but with a smaller wire diameter and thus requiring less force to extend. I replaced the original springs with these (Century Spring Corp. - #C-143 - 9/16”x3”x.054”). The lid operates perfectly, and now there is very little resistance at the hinge stress point. The only difference is there is no longer a “damping” effect when lowering the lid - it must be lowered manually rather than being allowed to fall on its own. That’s a small correction in habit, but will ensure that the replacement lid lasts for the life of the washer.

I bought a 6 year warrantied Whirlpool hot water heater Model N50T61-403, product number 0733318, at Lowes Home Improvement Center and for three years the pilot light fails to stay lit. I have talked with Whirlpool 1-877-817-6750, the number on the unit, many times. I went through the troubleshooting checklist and verified all requirements. I paid a plumber $150 to check it out and he said I needed a larger supply line and venting the closet door would help. I did this and pilot still goes out periodically. Whirlpool sent me a new gas valve and it cost me another $150 to have it installed. The plumber said everything is good. But the pilot is still going out. Called Whirlpool again and talked with them for 24 minutes. The woman on the line was telling me I needed a certain amount of oxygen for this 40,000 BTU model. She was giving me minimum requirements for square or cubic feet of house with 8 inch ceilings. Yes, she said 8 inch ceilings 4 or 5 times as we went over the requirements. I got so frustrated asking her what she was talking about and she hung up on me. I called back and asked for a supervisor and a different woman had me hold on, came back and said a supervisor would call me. I did get a call back and the supervisor wanted to send me another gas valve and a burner assembly. I told him the burner assembly is working fine and I have a new gas valve. I asked him to send me a $150 along with it to pay the plumber. He said they only warranty the parts. So, am I supposed to have $450 in labor plus my time in this product on top of the original cost? I said no thank you and asked him if he would accept this as a solution if he were the customer and he said this is not a personal discussion. I know his answer. I am never buying a Whirlpool product again. But now I need to buy a new, good brand, water heater to replace the Whirlpool piece of junk. Bad product, bad company, bad warranty. I got screwed by Whirlpool once but never again.

Less than 3 years later it had broken 3 times with three different part problems with a total down time of 6 months. Despite saying it didn’t qualify for lemon law, I was able to get it replaced after presenting all the facts. 3 years later, the new one is now currently experiencing the same problem and running a toasty 58 degrees and my food is once again in coolers on ice. Called Whirlpool customer care for help with identifying make and model number of a slide-in, ceramic cook-top range (one of their popular brands). The representative was cordial, patient and very helpful when it came to giving me directions on how to locate make/model information on the unit. That was until I let her know about a recent problem with the stove. The edge of the cooktop is much too sharp! My hand got cut while wiping down the stove top/adjacent counter. Although Ive had the stove for a while, Id never had that happen before; thats probably because I used a thin rag this time around to do the cleaning. I asked the rep if anyone else had reported getting cut by the stove top. She said, No. I let her know that my goal was to just them know about the situation, because such a sharp edge on a cooktop is a safety issue. She disagreed. But what could or should she have said? In all fairness, it came down to balancing loyalty to the company with genuine care for the customer.I do appreciate how kind she was in communicating with me, but am very displeased that once Id shared about the problem she seemed rather dismissive of the situation. How could the risk of being cut NOT be a product safety issue??? If you visit the Consumer Products Safety Commission website, you can see where risk of laceration is a reason some products are recalled. Based on that understanding, I would say that sharp edges on a ceramic cooktop IS a safety issue!

My microwave is a Whirlpool WMC10511AW purchased in Jan 2014 for $150. It is very light weight and moves around when opening and closing the door. I have to use something behind it on the counter top to keep from moving backward and causing problems getting things in and out. In the first year we had problems with the door latch, but after a while it stopped being a problem. I am used to the stability of Amana Radarange so these very lightweight microwaves seem really cheap to me. It works fine at this point but it seems that these really inexpensive countertop microwaves have to be replaced about every 2-3 years where an Amana which costs a lot more lasts for around 20 years and are very stable not moving around all the time.

Seems to use very little water. When I take the clothes out, they are bone dry in places which means they havent even seen any water! Clean (?) clothes end up smelling musty and I end up having to wash them two or three times which completely goes against any eco argument! I am really disappointed with this product and would never buy Whirlpool again. I have just washed our dog blankets. The cycle finished so took them out, had to check that the detergent had been used as the blankets were almost completely dry. The blankets still completely smell of dog so have had to put them through another wash (with more detergent – waste of money) and with a pre-wash cycle. Rubbish! We also have a Whirlpool drier and that is no better. Washing never comes out completely dry. It always has to be fully aired, sometimes more than others. There is no consistency in how wet or dry the clothes come out. Avoid at all costs.

I have used my new Whirlpool range (D-MGR865OES) about a dozen times and the damn thing is going to catch me on fire. I cannot reach the pans on the back burners without rubbing the knobs on the front and turning on the front INFERNO BURNERS AT MY ARM. I cant reach the matching microwave above either. Either I inadvertently turn on the fire or just the gas a little and dont realize it until I smell the strong odor of natural gas. Tons of other problems, but this is the worst of all. I called the manufacturer and they call it Buyers remorse and wont give me a credit back. Tim at Freds Appliance just never returns my calls for a manager to call me. I WANT A DIFFERENT RANGE. Buyers remorse? You betcha!!! Never Freds Appliance or Whirlpool again. IF I GET BURNED I WILL PROVE IT IS DANGEROUS IN A CIVIL LAWSUIT. I do believe that the other comments are true and my salesman Tim at Freds Appliance lied when he said that the star score was not for the model I was purchasing. My family purchased a Whirlpool stainless steel dishwasher at Lowes for around $500. We were replacing a very old GE dishwasher which was so loud you had to leave the room anytime you started it because you couldnt even talk over it. We love the new Whirlpool dishwasher. It is so quiet we thought it was broken at first because we couldnt hear it running and even though it cleans exceptionally well we still sometimes have to look to see that the light is on to know that its actually running. The whole family agrees this may be one of the best purchases weve ever made. The only con I could think of is my son and I put the dishwasher in ourselves and this is the first one weve ever done and the instructions werent as clear so we had to redo the piping of the waterlines a couple of times to figure out in what order to be done. But everything hooked up correctly and worked immediately without a problem. Couldnt be happier.

Whirlpool Washing Machine Model WTW4950XW0 - This washing machine was purchased as a gift by my father. We have owned this machine for about 2 years. I am very disappointed with the quality of this machine. I have 3 children and several pets. I use my machine a lot and need a quality item that will last. This machine is not that item. Within a few months, the machine was off balance and bolts had to be tightened. We have had problems with the belt, bolts coming loose and the machine not draining.More recently, the machine has become very loud... For approximately the last 6 months. My husband has taken the machine apart and looked for anything to be wrong with it and has found nothing. Now the machine is not running. I will turn it on and it fills with water and then stops. I will clear it out and restart it and it does the same thing. Another issue has been with spinning and draining. The clothes are soaking wet even after the drain/spin cycle.I have researched what could possibly be wrong with this machine and have found a vast number of items that could need replaced. With the money I have already put into fixing this machine in the past and the amount it will cost to fix it this time, I believe I will be further ahead if I buy a new machine made by a different company. I will not be buying a Whirlpool product again.

Immediately after install, the oven door face kept coming loose, they did send someone to fix & replace. Ive used the self cleaning twice, first time was fine, second time not so much. The cleaning process left major scrum below the window inside the door & below, which wasnt there before I did the clean. I take great pride in keeping my oven clean, do not allow build up because then you cant get it clean. This stove is less than a year old & has only been in place for 6 1/2 mths (I purchased before remodeling was complete). My last stove I sold easily, it was clean & guess what. It was 32 years old, only replaced because of updating our kitchen!!! I contacted whirlpool & they said its cosmetic & not covered. I called Lowes, they refer me to the service advance phone #. Well that was Whirlpool, not Lowes. Still nothing being done, other than they sent me cleaning stuff to try and get it cleaned (still working on that). Im concerned this stove is going to continue to have issues & will be out of warranty soon. Whirlpool is not standing behind their products & we have been Whirlpool customers for a long time. If I have more issues with this stove, we will never purchase Whirlpool again. Dont buy their products, they dont stand behind them!

I bought a dishwasher with a 5 year warranty. It broke just after one year of purchase and they are giving me the runaround with replacing after finding that the part the part needed to repair machine is no longer available. The warranty clearly states that they will repair or replace with same or comparable machine and they are refusing to do so. I am at my wits end and I have no one to turn to within Whirlpool as they say it is their decision how they want to handle warranty.

I have purchased all new Whirlpool appliances for our new home in March 2009. I have had trouble with the refrigerator door panel and will not switch between ice and water. Cost to replace over $100.00. Now its the range. When turning on the oven, my wife said she saw a flash of bright light and then I turned around and it was smoking up the house! I quickly pull the stove out and unplugged the stove. I then remove the back panel and found the right side of the control panel was burned. Had I not pulled the plug, a fire would have started. I have pictures to prove that! The cost to replace the control panel is $267.00 and that doesnt cover the repair man coming out to test if anything else is bad!

Whirlpool Water Heater FG1F4040S3NOV - I had this water heater installed in 2005 by a professional plumber and every year since like clockwork, I have to replace the gas control valve/thermostat. Last year, Sears came and did the work and made their arrangements to have the part replaced. This year 2012, March 9 my gas control valve went again. The unit is not even a year old and broke again. Unfortunately, the six-year warranty is up on the hot water tank. I called Whirlpool two times. The first time, the guy told me that the warranty was up and hung up on me! The second time, the guy would not honor the replacing of a part that is not even a year old yet. The money I spent over the six years making repair on it, I could have bought a new one. This company is nothing but a bunch of **. Is there anything that I can do? I have paid to replace this five years in a row.

Whirlpool dishwasher failed after 16 months. It leaks continuously. they sent a service provider 5 days later out to fix it, then said there would be a $129 fee for coming (this was never mentioned at time of appointment), and the total repair cost would be $208. I wasted a day waiting for repair person to come, I declined the repair due to the cost. I called customer service later, during office hours, and I received the poorest level of customer service I have ever experienced. Whirlpool will no longer receive support from the our family. This machine cost over $500, and a ruined rug. Whirlpool wasted our time, and a day from work. We will never purchase Whirlpool appliances moving forward, due to this product and customer service experience.

I bought Whirlpool top-loading high-efficiency low-water washer Sept 2018, model WTW5000DW, Serial # C83444466. Worst washing machine ever! No matter which water level you choose, it will not dispense enough water to cover the top of the clothes load, therefore the clothes are just moved from side to side with only the bottom layer of clothes getting wet; top clothes stay dry. Not enough water to fully agitate to clean the clothes!Whirlpool serviceman came today (Jan 13, 2020) to recalibrate the settings. VERY NICE MAN BUT THERE WAS NOTHING HE COULD DO TO SOLVE THE LOW WATER LEVEL. Recalibrating settings did nothing to solve the problem of not enough water. I am 81 years old and I have to manually add at least 4 buckets of water to an average load of clothes. This is unacceptable. Wont someone please initiate a class action lawsuit against Whirlpool for selling this very obvious poorly designed machine? NEVER EVER BUY A WHIRLPOOL WASHING MACHINE. It is a waste of money.

Purchased from Home Depot and self-installed. That part was not too big a deal but after installing this stove we started a journey of irritation, aggravation and general dissatisfaction. This stove has the standard layout for burners that seem to be common to most low-end stoves. Two huge burners in the front, a simmer burner at the right rear and a general purpose burner at the left rear. Thats all wrong for me and our set up. I want a large burner at the left rear and general purpose every place else. Can you alter the standard configuration? NO! Not without some major alterations to the stove top.Next are the grills or cast cooktops (2 each). They are a bit cumbersome when cleaning the stove but doable. The real problem with the grills are Whirlpool decided to save money by skimping on this feature. The grills are not a stable cooking platform for smaller pans and it turns out Whirlpool recommends square pans for this stove. SAY WHAT? I have pans and skillets from my grandparents and they are ALL round. Thats how that stuff is made. ROUND! The grills design is unstable for any round pot, pan or skillet, if its diameter, is 6 or less. Kiss that excellent saucepan goodbye if you have this stove. My current solution is a piece of light expanded steel over the burner areas.Keeping in mind we use Propane as our heating gas. The adjustment of the flame temp on the four burners is non-existent. They all are either on high, medium or low. There seems to be no fine tuning with these burners. At the end of the day go look for something that is NOT a Whirlpool, LP gas range Model #: WFG515S0EW. You will be better served and less irritable with almost anything else. Even a campfire in the yard is a better choice.

I work on Whirlpool refrigerators for a living every single day of my agonizing, miserable, lousy life. Ive never seen such a mass of dysfunctional, defective rejects as I have with the new Whirlpool side-by-side refrigerators. The ice maker never works because the water line always freezes in the door. The food in your refrigerator side will either spoil or freeze because the damper door will stick open or freeze shut. The water filter housing will start leaking before you change the filter for the first time because of the inferior quality of the plastic its made from. And of course my all time favorite the compressor will always go out under the first 5 years (Thats why Whirlpool changed the warranty from 5 years to 1 on the sealed system). Ive never been a big extended warranty believer. But, like old saying goes, They just dont make them like they use to. Definitely applies to Whirlpool refrigerators.

First batch turn out good, 2nd batch on fire before even get to 6 min, the burner is brightly hot and cant shut off from the panel... Saw ERR then COOL indicator... Tried but no respond from panel. The burner element wont turn off and temp keep rising white hot... The only way to shutoff is the house circuit breaker. But soon you turn on the breaker, the oven would turn on by itself and you cant switch it off. Where is the safety breaker on these range/oven when something goes beyond 500 degree..... UNSAFE PRODUCT. Ordered a new Whirlpool Gold 700 series but canceled after discovered others experienced similar situation with the new product. Could have burn down the house and worst when lives involved. WONDER IF ANYTHING WAS DONE TO CORRECT THESE SAFETY ISSUE.

The cabrio washer that we purchased in 2010 did a good job of cleaning the clothes but the case started rusting within 6 months. After service calls and e-mails and phone calls, there have been no helpful suggestions beyond buy a complete new case. I hesitate to do that because I am convinced there is a design flaw in the area where the soap dispenser is located which allows the soap to flow between the case and the drum and it eats away theinside of the case through the inadequate paint covering on the outside of the case. It is a mess. Now the instruction panel is bubbling and lifting. I carefully care for my equipment and have kept two washers over 15 years and they still were in good shape with cases still looking new. This is not something I am doing wrong. It is a piece of junk with a terrible paint job and it cost more than any washer I have ever had. I wish I had some recourse. I am on a fixed income and had hoped this would be the last washer I would have to buy. I have photos.

In October 2009, we purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio topload washing machine for almost $900, because my wifes sister had a 1-year-old one and had been pleased. The Cabrio replaced a 3 1/2-year-old Maytag that died with a seized-up transmission. Maytag is also a Whirlpool product for those of you who do not know. We had issues at first with it going off balance but dealt with it. It was also taking 40+ minutes to do even a small load of laundry, but again, we dealt with it. Fast forward about 3 years, and we notice the machine is making really loud sounds during the spin cycle. I checked for any obvious issues but found none. The noise kept getting louder with each use. Finally, I called a repairman to check it out. His diagnosis was quick. The bearings were going bad in the machine, and he said it would eventually fail. He quoted me a price of between $400-$500 to repair because the job is very labor-intensive. I declined the repair but still had to pay him a trip charge. Then I checked with my wifes sister about hers, and she said hers had been making a very loud sound for several months but they were just ignoring it. I told her about the diagnosis of mine and advised her to tilt the machine back to look under it. Sure enough, there were oil stains under her machine, just like mine, indicating the bearings were failing. So we have 2 Cabrio machines, one 3 years old and the other 4 years old with the exact same problem. I called Whirlpool since I had registered the machine when I purchased it. They basically told me to go fly a kite since I had not purchased the extended warranty. They said I could attempt to repair it myself to save money, but they advised to have their repairman do the work. Well, no kidding. What a joke. They expect you to buy a $900 machine and have to replace it every 3 years. I am done with Whirlpool products. FYI, Kenmore products are also made by Whirlpool, so Sears is not an option. My wifes sister and we bought new GE washing machines, and both of us purchased the extended warranty this time. For $129 (5 years), its cheap, peace of mind. Whirlpool is crap. I would suggest never buying any of their products. I know we never will. Once they have your money, they dont care.

We bought a brand new basic refrigerator, freezer on top, no frills, no ice maker, no water dispenser (model #WRT359SFYB) in Dec. 2011. For months, things on the bottom shelf of the fridge would freeze. The more we turn the control dial down, the more things would freeze. Finally, everything stopped freezing, including everything in the freezer. After having to throw everything out, we called for service. One year and 4 months out from our purchase date and without an extended warranty, we were offered no help. The repairman said that we had a leak as a result of poor manufacturing and there was no refrigerant left. He filled it but said he needed to check with Whirlpool to see if they would cover the repairs. It turns out they wont. I called them myself and spoke with a manager who offered no options at all, other than paying more than the price of the fridge to have it repaired. I asked if they were okay with their product having such a short life, filling landfills and causing such problems for their customers to which she replied that they are man-made and have no life expectancy. Crazy! For a manufacturer of large, costly appliances, one would think they would stand behind their product more. She also said that she would file my complaint and would have let me know if there was a recall on the fridge or any of its parts. It appears to me that others have had similar complaints. I wonder what warrants a recall. I will never buy Whirlpool again.

My 2-year-old Whirlpool Gold Series model replaces a 20-year-old Roper. So far it has exceeded expectations for low noise and useful features like validated Sani-Rinse. Has all the normal features plus Eco-Dry, Sani-Rinse, delayed start, five levels/cycles of cleaning, and hi-Temp wash. Fits where the old Roper used to be and handles a full load of dishes with room to spare except Thanksgiving, which takes two loads. Smooth black front with touch buttons and blue lights. Looks nice. Using Sani-Rinse seems to take a long time, generally around 3-hours for a full wash cycle. Besides being ultra-quiet, the unit is very energy efficient earning good Energy Efficiency and water efficiency ratings.

I called Lowes and told them I couldnt trust the oven not to do it again (after several times of it happening and resetting the circuit breaker). This would be a disaster if it happened during the holidays when I cook for 20 or more people. Lowes manager said they wanted me to feel comfortable so they replaced the entire range. GUESS WHAT... 2 weeks after having the new one... same problem. I set the thermostat to 400 degrees and when it got to 390, I saw the light blinking. Waiting 10 more mins, nothing changed. I hit the cancel button, reset the bake... the thermostat, when I turned it back on, showed 365... What the heck! I didnt open the oven door. Whirlpool ranges are a piece of crap. I am calling Lowes again tomorrow to return and advise them to stop selling the junk. Dont blame Lowes... They do the best they can with the crap they sell.

I bought a new Whirlpool gas hot water 40 gal tank from Lowes. I Installed it, but the pilot light would not light. So Cal Gas Co came out and said they did not like the new design, but that was how they were now making them. Gas is shot out from a pipe into the tank, however its fairly open. The pilot ignitor is similar to the one on barbarques that often do not last. You cannot get to it to light it manually. Several calls were made to Whirlpool and they sent a repair man out to fix it. You can imagine buying a new hot water heater and having it work part time. The repair man explained that the unit needed a new thermopile, but he could not put one on until whirlpool authorized it, which they would not. After a rather heated conversation with whirlpool they agreed to FedEx a part overnight. Of course the repairman could not wait for me to call and had to come back again. The pilot light still does not stay lit, and Whirlpool now wants to talk about how the tank is vented. This has nothing to do with the pilot light, nor did putting in a new 1/2 gas line and valve as per Whirlpools request. Whirlpool has a problem and they refuse to acknowledge it. However, it is Lowes that chose to buy from whirlpool and they do little if anything to stand behind their product and gain consumer confidence. My suggestion would be dont buy whirlpool, and shop at Home Depot.

I purchased a new French door refrigerator in May of 2016. Professionally installed. Last May 2017 icemaker stopped working and was replaced. June 2018 icemaker stopped working. This part of the refrigerator is poor quality and because of that I will never purchase another Whirlpool appliance. They use to be good quality and dependable. Not anymore.
