Called Whirlpool about fridge and they stated Too bad its out of warranty. The sides are getting pitted. It is a stainless with black sides. The condo is always air conditioned. It is two years old. Not very long to have a $1200 fridge look terrible. However, the fridge works fine.

We bought this microwave/hood combo at Home Depot and installed it in our second home roughly 16 months ago. We used it very little over that period because the home is only for vacations. The plastic handle began to disintegrate where it connects to the door (top and bottom) to the point where there is very little plastic remaining. We called the service center and the woman attending to us told us she had never heard of that happening before. Either she had just started working there that day, or she was lying because there are dozens of similar complaints on this very website.I do not understand what is to gain by denying a manufacturing defect. It simply makes no sense to me that a company would allow their reputation be so tarnished. What an ignorant and short-sighted business practice. I will never, ever buy another product from this company. I will also be sure to tell anyone who will listen what I think of the shabby service they gave us.

I have been buying Whirlpool appliances most of my married life. Our most recent washing purchase is the worst machine I ever owned. I have ruined more clothes, rugs, sheets and towels, etc. than I ever have in my 45 years of doing my own laundry. In fact, I do not EVER remember a washing machine destroying any of my articles. I just pulled 2 almost new rugs out of the washer only to find they have been destroyed! I am pretty sure it is the extremely fast spin cycle that is destroying my items. I know it cant be the agitator because it doesnt move fast enough to even clean the clothes. And the stupid load sensor is absolutely worthless! It does not dispense enough water to even cover the clothes let alone clean them. Go back to the old machines that did their job without destroying anything and actually cleaned the clothes with an amount of water that I chose. I ABSOLUTELY HATE this machine.

I bought a Cabrio set in June 2007. Within two years, I had to have the barrings replaced ($800 job). Now, its two years later and Im getting a F50 code. The repairman put in a new part, still got the same code and left. I am out $970. I am a disabled vet/single parent and now I have to buy a new washer. Who is going to start the class action suit against Whirlpool?

In August of 2008 I purchased a Whirlpool Amana refrigerator, Model# ABR2227FES. It worked great for exactly 6 years. In Aug of 2014, the motherboard needed to be replaced as it was not forcing a defrost when needed. I tried to get a refund on the cost of the part and labour but both were refused. In Dec 2016, just two and half years after the motherboard was replaced, the exact same problem re-occurred. Again I tried to get a refund on the cost of the part and labour but both were refused. Will I be buying this refrigerator in the future? A definite no!!!

My elderly mother purchased a Whirlpool Washer Mode Number WTW4955HW1 in No
My elderly mother purchased a Whirlpool Washer Mode Number WTW4955HW1 in November 2020. The washer has had nothing but problems. It leaks, vibrates and moves on the floor. My mother called Home Depot to see what she needs to do, and they said once they deliver the product it is out of their hands. Had our first service call in May 2021 by an authorized service and he said they should sell this on eBay. It is a horrible product, he said there is nothing he can do. Had a second authorized service in June 2021 and they said we needed a new tub which they ordered, and he said this will take up to 2 months, they also said to do only small loads and only use the deep-water wash and deep water rinse. After the technician left the agitator now comes apart. Would not recommend this product to anyone and I would never buy anything at Home Depot because they do stand by the products they sell.

Four years ago, my wife and I also purchased a Whirlpool washer and dryer s
Four years ago, my wife and I also purchased a Whirlpool washer and dryer set, washer model no. WTW6600SB2. Within the first year we had to replace both pumps twice, user interface, and control board. (I think that’s what it was called). Of course, that was all covered under warranty. But I to had to wait a week for the part and then another week for the repairman to make it. The user interface and control board had to be replaced because moisture got into the control panel and caused corrosion on the circuit boards which caused them to short out. Then it wasn’t long after warranty ran out, the whole wash tub and drum just dropped to the floor with a full load in it. I don’t remember exactly what was the cause of it, but I do remember it cost me $580 to fix it. Then it wasnt more than two weeks later, the repairman had to come again and replace the control board again. There went another $600 for the parts, labor and service call because this time they had to come from 40 miles away and it’s a minimum fee of $89 just for them to drive up here and another $60 for diagnostics, and then the part and their time to install new board. I paid for this machine twice in the first year and a half. Then after all of that, it was finally working like it should and worked great for about 6 months, then came the UL,LD, and Lid Lock codes over and over unplug, plug in, unplug, plug in. That lasted for about a month, and then all of a sudden, it straightened out. And we only got the occasional UL code. Now in the last year, I have had to replace the drain pump twice and then the drum and motor dropped on the shaft allowing any loose change or other items if accidentally missed during pocket searches to fall into the outer wash tub and get sucked into the drain pump and causing a quarter to be shoot through the drain pump making a hole and caused my laundry room to flood. Well, I decided I wasn’t going to buy another part so I used a plastic repair kit to fix the hole and got it up and running. A week later, the washer won’t wash. It will fill and that’s it. So upon my own diagnostic, I came to the conclusion that it was the user interface that went out due to corrosion I found on it. So for another $120 I can fix it, but I’m not sticking another dime into the washer, nor will I ever buy another Whirlpool appliance. Once all of my Whirlpool appliances die, I will replace them one at a time with LG. I to contacted Whirlpool about my problems and all they did for me was send me an extended warranty offer for 50% off, really that’s it, that’s all I get is a big GFY after all the money I have stuck into this piece of scrap-metal. Well, never again will you have my business as long as I live. Whirlpool, you need to take your hoo-ya and do something about all of these complaints.

I purchased the original Whirlpool water heater from Lowes in April 2008 for $372, and an installation charge of $443, grand total - $815. In February 2012 the tank leaked profusely, enough to ruin a section of hardwood floor in the room behind the garage where it was installed. Whirlpool provided me with return authorization, and Lowes provided me with a replacement water heater. So far so good. Since the original installation was done through Lowes, the replacement had to be as well, according to Whirlpool, but now they charged $500 with tax to install the replacement water heater! Grand total now is $1315. Fast forward to May, 2014 and the replacement water heater, just barely 2 years old, shuts off with a code of Bad gas control valve/thermostat. I call Whirlpool and an extremely rude 20-something staffer tells me the unit is out of warranty by one month! The replacement unit has no warranty at all - nada - only the original one does... Is this unbelievable or what?! BUT, they would be glad to send me the replacement of the defective part for $200 PLUS overnight shipping charges, and I would be responsible for all labor charges to install it. Had I opted for this my original $372 water heater would have wound up costing me in the neighborhood of $1800!! I told her in no uncertain terms what she could do with the repair part, and now I am going to go shopping for a water heater that will last me more than 2-4 years, and you can bet it wont be a Whirlpool, and it wont come from Lowes.

I have had this unit less than a year and started having pilot problems. I would just relight and ask family members to take shorter showers or not run the washing machine or dishwasher at the same time. I would have to relight the pilot 3-4 times a year and would just tolerate. Now the water heater fails on a daily basis. In the last four weeks, my wife would say NO HOT WATER AGAIN. I am so tired of dealing with this, so last night, I called Whirlpool and associate was polite but gave me a lot of things that I should do (43 yrs a pipefitter). Before all was said and done, he is shipping me a new gas valve (at my expense) that I will gladly install to get rid of this problem. Will not EVER buy a hot water heater from Whirpool or Lowes ever again. Whirpool should stick to washing machines!

We have owned our side-by-side model # ED5HVEXVB02 for just over six years now. The first thing that went bad was the ice machine (just days out of warranty). Over the next 4 years weve had to replace 2 of the drawers; they break really easily. Here we are just 6 years out and we are on our 3rd icemaker. This refrigerator is a lemon. I sincerely believe they designed an inferior product so that they could get you hooked. We probably would have been better off after the first issue if we had sold this lemon instead of spending all of this money and future money that it will take to keep this product going.

I purchased a gas hot water heater from Whirlpool. I have had problems with it since it was new. Whirlpool kept sending repair parts, which I installed, until the warranty expired. Now they say “Sorry Charlie, the warranty has expired.” The water heater has never been fixed. They just dragged it along until the warranty expired. Whirlpool has no complaint department or the repair place will not give it to you. They told me there would be no use for a complaint department. They would just tell the same thing the repair was telling me.

First, let me say we are so lucky and blessed to get home in time to prevent my home from burning. My Whirlpool range, model 4rf364pxk0, apparently decided to turn itself on (no one home) and grew hotter and hotter. It obviously burned out the thermostat because it was way hotter than cleaning mode. The key pad was melted and sagging inward the control panel warped, heat pouring from it. The racks and interior were glowing orange! My back splash tile blackened and cracked! The oven door locked! Oven hood ruined although it probably saved my cabinets! We hit the breaker! There was so much heat you could feel it on the outside of the exterior wall of the house 30 minutes later! The clean up to my kitchen has been horrible. Black soot and strange greasy film on everything and the stench has been toxic enough to give my husband a raw throat and myself a migraine! Oh and here is the ironic part - my husband was bringing me home from a hospital stay from high blood pressure! It would be almost comic if it wasnt so darn scary! Please, please address this issue before a more tragic story is posted! From looking at this site, it is obvious that there have been other incidence of your stoves turning themselves on and uncontrolled heat. I firmly believe another few minutes and our home would have been engulfed in flames. Now I will spend my weekend shopping for a new ceramic range, hood and tile!

I have a model ED20PK. The doors are rusting on the outside. This refrigerator was purchased by my husband who has passed, I do not have the receipt and I dont know where he purchased it. The refrigerator worked perfect. It has been in my kitchen from day of purchase. My home is adequately heated in winter and air conditioned in the summer. I have an up-scale home. I dont see any reason to replace the refrigerator, but I cannot stand the deteriorating condition of the doors. If I replace it, I will not buy a Whirlpool or any brand made by Whirlpool. The rust is not just a discoloration, it is actually rough to the touch and is getting worse day by day. If you have any answers or help I would appreciate a phone call. I am not really in an economic position to just go and buy a new refrigerator.

In Feb. 2014 we moved into a new Condo and bought all new kitchen appliance
In Feb. 2014 we moved into a new Condo and bought all new kitchen appliances, MAKING one mistake, a Whirlpool side by side refrigerator, Model WRS322FDAM 01. It had to be ordered and was received by Lowes on March 10th. Letters from Whirlpool told me that their service warranty had ended as of 2/1/15 which predated our receipt of the fridge. It is a bit noisy with the ice maker, and when it fills up with water, you can hear it, and yes, the ice does fly a bit when you put it into your glass. The worst thing about this piece of junk, is how cheaply it is made. The materials used must have come from the rejected pile of parts. Its just my husband and I, no grandchildren/children and very little company. So, the fridge received average use and then within 6 months, one of the drawers cracked at the back. I tried to glue it back together myself because I was told that it was not a covered item??? My repair lasted a few months and then came apart entirely. When I removed the broken shelf I noticed something around the LED light on the liner in the back of the fridge. I pulled out the meat drawer and found a crack that began at the bottom of the light and had moved about 3 inches to the left, and another one that began at the right of the light and that was about 4 inches or so.Life intervened and when I looked again, the right side crack had split and deepened and it had now crossed over to the rounded edging connecting the back liner to the side liner. The left side crack had also moved further to the left, and is now approaching the side corner. I spoke with Whirlpool and they sent out a repair company who e-mailed a photo of the cracks to them from our home. The company response was that they would cover the crack with 482395 liner tape. - this was their idea of a repair.I then spoke with a Lowes representative who agreed to send another repair firm out. Well, they came today and when they spoke with Whirlpool, they were told to order an Epoxy kit (# 8212572) - this was their version of a repair. I spoke with a supervisor and told her that they were not repairing the liner, they were just placing a bandage on top of the crack. I compared it to owning a new car but having cracks in the dashboard. In this case the dealer would place tapes over the cracks instead of just replacing the dash. Neither response from Whirlpool was a repair. All they were doing was hiding their piece of garbage. She disagreed and would offer nothing further. I told her that I was going to bring this to the attention of any consumer group that I could, and might even see if a class action suit could be brought to bear as there were many other reports of cracked liners. We are totally disgusted with the product and its manufacturer. Whirlpool used to have a good reputation, but after this, it is now at the bottom of the garbage barrel.

After 1 year, my fridges plastic interior wall/liner started cracking everywhere. One crack is right across the entire back wall; other smaller cracks are on the sides and back. Three fridge shelves literally fell apart: pieces fell off! The glue came undone on the sides of the shelf that hold the glass in. Pieces of the shelf itself were falling out of the fridge. The microwave door has plastic trim around the glass on the door, and it is cracking also. It seems that anything that was made Whirlpool and is plastic is cracking and/or disintegrating. Sears caulked the cracks in the fridge and is replacing the shelves, but nothing is being done about the microwave. Whirlpool said, Too bad. Go to Sears. We may have made the product, but Sears is responsible. And Sears is saying Too bad; weve done all we can.

We purchased a high end KitchenAid Refrigerator Dec 2018. Rust developed on
We purchased a high end KitchenAid Refrigerator Dec 2018. Rust developed on water dispenser door in less than year. They would not honor warranty. Since March we have had ongoing cooling problems with 5 service calls and 4 different fixes and unit still doesnt work. Local authorized service company, Fields, in Jacksonville FL is incompetent. Whirlpool doesnt return calls. The products value is not consistent with the high cost. Here are the gory details. Ref: Setzers, Jacksonville FL (sold unit). Fields Jacksonville FL (factory authorized service company).Less than 1 year in, it began to rust. We called for a Warranty check. Fields Appliance (their factory authorized service company) came out and agreed all 5 doors needed to be replaced. A month rocked on, finally we called to find out where the doors were, and were told Whirlpool (Makers of Kitchenaid) denied the claim. Citing that we lived near the coast! Well, our other appliances arent rusting and the refrigerator doesnt sit outside! They sent us a 6 oz bottle of rust cleaner. A few months later, this refrigerator stops cooling! This was in March, 3 months out of 1 yr warranty. The refrigerant system is warranted for 5 yrs. This was also right at the beginning of Covid 19 shutdown. Fields could not give us a appointment, due to shutdowns. So, I called a local company to fix it out of pocket. He discovered a leak in the coolant lines, fixed the leak and replaced the coolant ($453.61 on 4/9/20). Great, it works! About 3 weeks later, it stops cooling again. Called local service repairman out once more to see whats going on. He replaces a thermal bi metal sensor and well ahh! It works again ($100 on 4/28/2020).About 3 weeks after that, it stops working again! We are thinking by now, its a problem for Setzers, Whirlpool, and Fields. We call the local service repairman out to confirm and he states that the evaporator fan motor will need to be replaced, and that part replaces all sensors as well ($59.99 5/28/2020 service call). We call Setzers and schedule an appointment with Fields. First appointment we could get was 6/16/2020. Guy comes out, and cited a factory defect, per a technical bulletin he had, and relocated a sensor. Simple as that, he assured us it was fixed! Even though I pointed out it felt no cooler when he packed his things to leave. It did nothing! In the background Setzers (when they would call back) were supposedly working with Whirlpool to help fix the problem! Whirlpools reply was that since our repairman was not factory authorized, it completely voided our warranty! Explaining we had no choice, since Fields wouldnt come out and by now we are without a working refrigerator for 3 months, they could care less! Feeling totally frustrated, we call Fields again! On 6/19/2020, they send out another repairman. This guy came in, opened up the back, and immediately stated the refrigerant was overfilled. Didnt do any diagnostics, just told us that we were **, and walked away, without even putting the refrigerator back in place! Neither Fields rep hooked up a diagnostic tool to confirm any real issue, I guess they just knew! Total incompetence! So... As of now we have paid the local repairman ($448.33 on 6/26/2020) to order the evaporation fan motor and install it this coming Monday (7/20/2020). Total amount out of pocket at this point, $1053.90. It took that long to get here! Wish us luck! Setzers wiped their hands clean of the issue and told us to call Whirlpool. We did have not ever received callback.

We have owned refrigerators for over 40 years. Never had one as bad as this. Three ice maker replacements lasting maybe from 6 months to 2 years. Cap that off with customer service people who by voice and tone could not give a rats ** about helping the customer. Today it took me from 3:10 pm to 5:30 pm to get a real person on the phone. When I did the attitude is so reminiscent of a fast food hamburger joint with arches. Yes they know the refrig and ice maker are and have been a problem but they don’t care cause we have no option. Whirlpool will NEVER SEE ANOTHER penny of my money. Time to look at real appliance makers. Horrible.

When I bought this stove, I already had a glass top (Sears) which was satisfactory but I changed to get a convection oven, never had a problem cleaning the glass top. To me, Whirlpool was, and I emphasize WAS, a reputable manufacturer and the stove offered everything I needed. Not so, the glass top is a nightmare to clean; no amount of elbow grease works. It is like cooking on a mirror. Talked to everyone I contacted but, it seems, I am the faulty element in this problem: I DONT KNOW HOW TO CLEAN!!! YOU NEED A FIRST OF SOMETHING FROM TIME TO TIME AND THIS WAS A FIRST FOR ME.They told me the only solution they could offer was to buy their own cleaner. Why do they need to market their own cleaner? I did not buy a museum piece that needed to be treated with special care, I bought a stove to cook on. I want as many people as possible to know about that uncleanable glass top. Every time I need to cook, I cringe at the amount of time and effort I will have to spend to get it clean. I am not a novice, I have been doing housework for the past 60 years. Beware, it is a most frustrating situation to having paid top dollars and to be stuck with a product that brings such frustrations. By the way, it was bought at The Brick in Canada. They were not helpful either.

We purchased our Whirlpool french door refrigerator with bottom freezer from Lowes. A few months after purchasing, we noticed a pool of water on the floor, resulting from what looked like a leak coming from the ice maker. After contacting customer service, they sent a repair company to service the fridge. This rep stayed no longer than 5 minutes and barely looked at the appliance. He said my refrigerator was not under warranty, which was **, as I personally registered the refrigerator the day it was. My kitchen floor is ruined as a result. I will NEVER purchase another product from this company again. They seemingly left a faulty product on the market and failed to inform me about the known issue. Then they failed to quickly provide needed repair or replacement in a timely manner. They also refuse to reimburse me for the food loss, which would not have ever occurred had they handled the issue appropriately from the beginning. TERRIBLE company. In addition, since Lowes is aware of the reputation of this company and continue to sell their defective products... I will not be shopping at Lowes anymore! Both this companies should NOT be in business!!!

Whirlpool - Back in the 1980s we had Whirlpool appliances that lasted for many, many years. We are now in our mid 60s and retired. We purchased a new home 2-1/2 years ago. Whirlpool appliances were provided with our new home. We were quite pleased at the time. However, we are now sorry we have them.We are very easy on everything we own. When we replace appliances, cars, furniture, etc. we are generally able to sell our used items, which are always in great condition. Unfortunately, this is not the case with our current appliances. I will list the many problems.Combo range hood/microwave oven: it vented absolutely nothing. The microwave oven had its own set of just plain silly issues with the manner in which the touchpad had to be set. The oven did at least work. 2/2013 we had a Broan range hood installed and vented to the outside and purchased a Whirlpool countertop microwave oven. Again we had the little issues with using the touchpad plus the door was very hard to open. This countertop microwave oven failed 1/2015, less than a year of usage. At this time we purchased a Panasonic microwave that is much simpler to use.The Smooth-top range/oven looks nice. It is the most inconsistent range/oven we have ever owned. You cannot lower the cooktop burners to simmer. There is no simmer. On that setting it may as well be turned off. I can set it at about 9 oclock on the dial and some days that may be simmer. Others days it could be higher. Overall, the burners have no consistency. The oven cools quickly and I must be mindful not to toss in a 2nd sheet of cookies without checking the temperature. I have never had to do this on any other oven we have owned. The dishwasher does clean my dishes, thank goodness. However, I have had 2 service calls (under warranty) for a little gasket (hinge pad) which keeps the door propped a bit while loading the silverware into the basket. This piece has failed a third time I will just live without being able to prop the door. And then there is the silverware basket. Each piece must be loaded, handle first, into the slots on the basket. Of course, some of my silverware has wider handles so this does not work well. Such a poor design. The refrigerator was my pride and joy. We paid the extra charge for the French door style instead of the side-by-side style that came with the house. My charges here are more serious. 2 of the little door shelves have broken. Oddly enough these are small shelves which have some items on them that are not used often. If I choose to replace them, it will cost me over 25.00 for each of these little gems. Now, a piece of plastic on the veggie drawer has broken so I must be mindful not to let the drawer drop.Worst of all was the last service call out of warranty. I had standing water/ice on the floor of the freezer. Apparently this was due to a poor design and my service man replaced it with a new P-Trap that actually works. Yes, the original design was bad, yet I still had to pay for the replacement. Seems like this should have been a recall and replaced free of charge. Instead my total charge was 144.06. UGH!!! Now, I do understand I was likely provided bottom of the line appliances with my new home, but to have issues with all of them is ridiculous.

I bought a Kitchenaid dishwasher (It is owned by Whirlpool) from Trail Appliances. After 11 month the machine didnt work. It was under warranty. It took more than two months that they sent a technician to fix it. Less than one week after repair it broke again, same problem. Now we have to wait for another two weeks for technician to come. It is tough for us without dishwasher for such a long time. I learned Whirlpool is not a reliable company and I will never purchase products from this company any more.

August 26th 2014 purchased a NG (NO GOOD actually natural gas) Whirlpool water heater from Lowes. Model No. N40561-403. Installed it and everything was fine until this morning August 29th 2014. The indicator light was out and so was the pilot. Tried to light it without success. Called Whirlpool and they are sending me a new controller that now needs to be installed. Called Lowes and they will not take it back. Wish I would have found this site prior to this costly fiasco. Waiting on part now and I will keep you informed as to my progress. I will keep this brief because many of our issues on our 18-month-old washer are in other reviews. The anger I feel towards Whirlpool Customer Service and the logic they use in providing repairs on a “goodwill” basis are unbelievable. After a Whirlpool certified appliance repair person diagnosed our fairly new washer as requiring the entire guts to be replaced... transmission, bucket, etc., we were told the repair bill would be over $1,300! Are you kidding me... the washer only cost in the mid $500 range, and now Whirlpool is going to do us a big favor and cover that outrageous bill! I told the customer service supervisor to please give us a new washer and take away our broken washer and use it for parts (if there any good parts left in this miserable machine). His reply “thats not going to happen”. He used this phrase to us at least 20 times during our service call until I finally told him I thought his attitude was aggressive and demeaning. I refuse to be bullied by a major manufacturer for a substandard product.I can only warn you when considering Whirlpool (and every major appliance in our two homes are Whirlpool) that you should use due diligence in your selection. We paid extra to upgrade all our Whirlpool appliances in our homes and I will never make that mistake again. And don’t get me started on the white film that covers my dark clothes. They say I use too much detergent... not true. I am not stupid and understand the HE requirement to cut way back on soap.

Thank God for this website and Frank of Dover (postings on Feb. 11, 2013 and Jan. 7, 2011). We just had exactly the same horrid experience with the lid on our Whirlpool Cabrio Washer WTW7800XW. Just as with Frank, our home warranty provider first accused us of abusing the machine. I merely printed out Franks comments and description, whereupon the home warranty provider reluctantly agreed to replace the lid. We also bought an extra lid and are keeping it in our attic for the next failure. Do not purchase this washer!

Weve had this washing machine only a few years, and our household of 2 probably averages 1 load of laundry per week. Weve always had the same problem everyone has with the detergent stains on clothing and having to rewash loads, and the only remedy weve found was using the oversized loads setting and rewashing a load. The last straw was 6 months ago. It quit going through a complete cycle and would not spin out without resetting it. Then it quit spinning out at all. Service Guard, a 3rd party warranty company, diagnosed a faulty motor and ordered a replacement. After a long delay Whirlpool advised it was back-ordered for 3 months. A week ago Whirlpool advised them it was now back-ordered until 5-27. They did not know whether wed ever obtain a replacement motor. After taking clothes to our sons house for a couple months to wash, we purchased another used machine to use until ours is repaired. It is beginning to appear that machine may be our permanent machine. This is a pretty sad testimonial about whirlpool. We have always used Whirlpool appliances but appears we may have to switch brands. And it certainly does appear these low water machines are garbage. Very disappointed in Whirlpool.

I purchased my Whirlpool washer and dryer Cabrio Platinum model in September of 2014 from Lowes and have never been so disappointed in a washer in my life. Not only was it the most expensive washer and dryer set I have ever purchased but it is the absolute worst in performance. It has destroyed most of my clothes and linens, doesnt get them as clean as my former Samsung front-loader, and is constantly twisting up the clothes, getting out of balance and requiring me to adjust the clothes once or twice during each wash cycle. On recent research, I have found that I am not the only one experiencing these problems. Whirlpool should RECALL this series entirely! And I intend to post this review every place I can to prevent future sales of this horrible product.

We purchased this Whirlpool pair after our upright machine was unable to be repaired... because of parts coming from China and being hard, if not, impossible to get. We have had this pair for about 2 years now (Lowe’s). It still doesnt clean the clothes and it continually goes off balance when doing sheets, comforters etc. Myself I feel since they have taken the middle agitator out of the machine - it no longer performs the way a washer should and that its main function is to get the clothes clean! I did write a letter to Whirlpool about it and they pretty much told me, “Well too bad.” So much for buying American made products... at least the upright did last 6 years!

I have never posted a negative product review but must do so now. The refrigerator is 1 1/2 years old at most and has been well taken care of. I noticed today that the finish at either side of the bottom of each refrigerator door handle has a problem. I couldnt tell if the finish was pitting or is just discolored. I called customer service and expected that they would help, especially since we have an extended warranty. Representative number one told me that the extended warranty only covers problems that affect the function of the product. I spoke to her supervisor and then her supervisor. I got plenty of apologies but no support. I offered to send pictures, but they were not even interested in checking out the problem. After speaking to them, I took the handle off and I see now that the handle cut into some sort of film that exists on the metal. (I am not talking about the protective plastic coating that is on the the refrigerator at delivery.) The film is lifting off the surface and creating discoloration. If Whirlpool was at all concerned, I think this issue could be fixed with some sort of gasket to keep the metal handle from cutting into the surface. Im hoping the problem is static, but hard to say what will happen. If they had been interested in trying to understand the cause of the problem, it would have been easier to accept the limitations of the warranty. It would have demonstrated an interest in avoiding this problem for other consumers in the future. My last Whirlpool product. Period. Good luck if you decide to do business with them.

I purchased my Cabrio a little over three years ago. Within the first month, the computer board had to be replaced and the tech informed me that it was not a malfunction in the unit; rather, it was because I did not have a sock bag for my socks and panties. I replaced the board, bought a sock bag and had no problems for about 1.5 years. A little over a year ago, the un-level started. I did research and found that I needed to replace the rods and add couplers as they were not thought of when the unit was created. This worked for an entire month. Now, I am in the same position again. It takes about 6 tries per load and the amount of water I am using is increasing with each failed attempt to wash. There should be a recall on this product. I notice there are many other complaints that match my frustrations exactly.

My 2 year Jennaire (made by Whirlpool) broke down on 12/14/11. Repairman came out on 12/19. He said that the compressor was not working and ordered another and he came out again on 12/22. He said that it could not be fixed (internal leak or something). An aside to this story was that a tank of compressed oil blew and damaged my hallway and kitchen walls and floors and 2 rugs. That was being handled by the repairmans insurance company. We called Whirlpool and they said that they we could pick out a new refrigerator priced at no more than $2399 even though we paid $2799 for the Jennaire and would have to pay the difference for a model costing more. We went with a Maytag (Whirlpool product) that listed for $2899 but was available at 2 local stores for $2050 and $2100 but I had to give Whirlpool anther $500 because they use the MRP.They finally delivered it on 1/5/12 but would not leave it because no one disconnected the water line to the appliance and they would not touch it. It took me 20 seconds to do it and if they would have told me so it would have been done on the 5th. Rescheduled delivery for 1/8/12 and the unit was delivered damaged (large dent in front) and they would not temporarily leave it until a replacement came.I called Whirlpool again and asked them to just call a local Home Depot or anyone in my area (all had the unit in stock) to deliver one but they told me that it must come from the warehouse in Michigan (I live in PA) and that it would be yet another 5 to 10 business days to receive it. So, I am paying $700 more for a unit that I could have bought and had delivered before Christmas not to mention the inconvenience of no unit for a month. Not to mention the damage to my home, $200+ dollars in thrown away food, time to shop for new unit, time for 2 repairman appointments and time for the 2 deliveries thus far and countless phone calls to Whirlpool to get the new unit.Today is 1/10/12, so I guess Ill have by month end if there are no other problems, you would think that they would try to expedite this just because its been so long or give us a substantial credit for all the trouble. Never again Whirlpool.

Reading the many reviews of malfunctioning washers and other appliances, I wonder why organizations like Consumer Affairs and Consumer Reports do NOT help the many cheated customers form a class action lawsuit or boycott or some other means to effectively organize and force manufacturers to return the full cost of purchase, taxes, shipping, moving and repairs for 5 years for every product. The manufacturer have NO consequences for selling shoddy, malfunctioning but terribly expensive products. We are all being taken for fools by the corporations.I was stupidly brand loyal and bought a Whirlpool Duet front-load washer and dryer because we had to leave our perfectly good 28-yr-old Whirlpool washer when we sold our house. The first set of instruction is to pull the electric cord from a small hole in the back of the washer. No amount of pulling would budge the cord. Finally yanked with all my strength, heard a snapping sound and 12 of cord came out. Then no more pulling, yanking or tugging would produce another inch of cord. So I took off the top of the machine and found the cord tightly wedged in the fork of a plastic thing that looked like part of a stabilizer for the drum.A similar plastic thing on the other side was broken at the fork, the snapping sound I heard. Freed the cord with lots of effort, but it was still firmly stuck way down inside. Removed the back of the machine, found the cord stuck inside a circular thing with one tiny opening. Took lots of time and effort to free the cord from that, but it was still stuck. Finally managed to reach the plug, which was firmly anchored to the bottom of the frame with an orange lanyard. Cut the lanyard with a knife to finally free the cord. This had to be an act of sabotage by an assembly worker, as no way could the cord accidentally jam itself into 3 different places too small for the cord to slip in, and it certainly didnt tie itself to the bottom of the frame with a lanyard. The hour it took to free the cord was just the start of troubles with this machine. It did start and kind of tumbled clothes in an odd fashion, but when it went into spin cycle, it literally jumped all around the room, almost jumping out the door. The whole house shook and I feared the floor would collapse. That machine must weigh well over 100 lbs. even without water and clothes. Next load I tried delicate cycle which had a slow spin cycle.Same result, even worse. I had to wedge my body in the 10 space between washer and dryer and press down with all my 170 lbs. to keep the machine from doing serious damage to the dryer, walls and floor. I contacted seller, Lowes, and they said call Whirlpool. So I did, but no response. Before buying that machine, I read many horrible reviews of Whirlpool Duet machines, but I have only owned 2 washers since 1967, both Whirlpools, so I had strong but stupid brand loyalty.

I bought a portable dishwasher on 6/29/15. It didnt clean well, didnt drain properly. (I followed guidelines from the USER INFORMATION and used rinse). I called a plumber to clean out my pipes. My dishes were still dirty. I purchased an entire soft water system from Culligan. My dishes were still dirty. I called Whirlpool and Pacific Sales where I bought the machine, and got no assistance. On 10/2014 I spent $263.50 to repair and replace parts so the machine would drain. Sometime in January of 2015 it stopped draining again. I just got off the phone with Whirlpool who will not take any responsibility for this lemon. You offered me a policy to purchase for over $200!!! You want me to spend MORE money on a machine that never worked right???? How is that help? How is that standing behind your product? Then there was some lame offer to pay for parts, ONLY if I used your extremely expensive repair people and pay for labor, and $139 just to show up at my door. I asked who I can write to or talk to about this and was told by Sherri that there was no one to talk to but her. Really? I bought a Whirlpool dishwasher in 2008 from Best Buy and purchased the extended warranty through Best Buy. First of all, my complaint is not with Best Buy (model # DU1145XTPBA). I have had nothing but trouble with the unit not filling with water, being noisy, and other problems. And then, my intelligence is insulted by these independent contractors, who are supposed to be appliance repair specialists. I found that far from the truth in most cases. They have a list of patented things that the consumer is doing wrong: not having a hot water heater next to the unit, using too much detergent, not loading it properly, and on and on. They must think we are idiots. I always would run the water from the sink till it got hot before filling. And I am a miser so I use less detergent than what the manufacturer or the detergent package says. Anyway to make a long tale short, it started leaking last week, so I assumed the door seal or some other such thing. But lo and behold, the door is rotted out at the bottom. The black finish has bubbled up and the metal is actually rotting away. I am from up north and it looks like my old Chevy 2 Nova rotted out. I called Whirlpool and spoke with several people and supposedly someone in management. They were, of course, sympathetic but offered no assistance or explanation. They offered to send a factory authorized repairman to replace the door at more than the cost of a new dishwasher. Are we that stupid? They never offered me a voucher for a discount on a new unit, which I am going to have to buy. I would not have accepted it anyway, as my last few experiences with Whirlpool have been dreadful. I will never buy another Whirlpool anything. The name used to stand for a quality product that you could depend on. But now it is like most things are offered to the consumer in this throw away society. And as long as we keep buying inferior products and only expecting them to last a few years, I am afraid that is what we will continue to get. Be vocal and let them know how you feel, even though they are probably yawning on the other side of the phone. They are without compassion and could not care any less. They are just looking for a paycheck and have probably heard a hundred complaints like mine, so its water off the proverbial ducks back. But when its their own job in jeopardy, perhaps they will start passing on these complaints to someone who will be willing to listen. Its a very bad experience and I will never buy Whirlpool again.

I purchased 4 Whirlpool appliances late 2014. The French door refrigerator close to a year later made a piercing sound several times during a day. I immediately contacted Whirlpool and the representative directed me to YouTube to listen to the normal sounds the refrigerator would make. My first thought was I have been a homeowner for 30 years and countless appliances and never heard such a horrible sound. At the same time they sold me an extended warranty over the phone. He assured me sounds were covered. The sound just kept getting louder and more frequent. I could not take this piercing sound and called back. They sent a local repair service. At the time the repair person came out the refrigerator was not making the sound. I played a video recording and the repairman even said what an terrible sound it was. He continued to check everything over and said - everything looks good. I dont know what the sound is coming from. I asked, What is Whirlpool going to do? He said, nothing, the warranty ran out and your extended warranty does not cover sounds. What a ripoff! Now the drawers broke and another thing they wont cover! I also have problems with the dishwasher I purchased at the same time. Even putting on the extended hot dry I need to wipe everything off. I should have just open a window a tossed out over 2k. The sound is so horrible I am being forced to junk the refrigerator and purchase a new one. Dont purchase Whirlpool and never purchase extended warranty over the phone.

We spent a lot of time researching to make sure we were making the right choice, found the one that was right for us. When it got delivered there was a problem though, the plastic scratch protector film they put on the doors for delivery left an adhesive residue that looked like dull spots all over our new shiny black doors. I immediately opened up the owners manual to see how they recommend removing this blotchy sticky residue, assuming we werent the first ones to ever come across this problem, unfortunately they only provide generic cleaning tips. So I went to their website and found what I was looking for. I tried all of the cleaning methods they provide, none of them even came close to working. So I grabbed some adhesive remover and tried that, it worked great to remove the residue however my microfiber cloth (which they recommend explicitly) started leaving scratches all over the finish.I called the customer service to see about getting a new door delivered, thinking this wont be more than a 5 minute phone call since I had followed all of their steps they provide both in the owners manual and on their website. Heres where I find out that their policy DOES NOT cover scratches/cosmetic damage, period. I tried reasoning with them, I had them read their own recommended cleaning procedures, and we both concluded that I had followed their procedures to the T! You might think that if the all of the typical procedures didnt resolve the issue, that would be the point where the customer service reps would have the ability to make a decision that satisfy the customer, you would be wrong! They kept telling me over and over that their policy doesnt cover cosmetic, therefore there was nothing they could do. It was delivered with a defect of sorts, how is the customer responsible for that? The only way I can see it having worked out in my favor is if I had never tried to clean it myself and immediately called customer service, I still fear they would have given me the same line of cosmetic damages are not covered even if I would have tried each procedure with them walking me thru it over the phone. Lesson learned, I will never purchase another Whirlpool product!

I cannot tell you how many machines we looked at before selecting our Whirlpool, thank goodness we did.

We’ve had problems with our fridge where after we had it for about 2 months a crack formed on the inside, the repairman came and put a piece of tape, tape on a new fridge I wasn’t happy. Then we had our stove for about a month and the front right element went it was replaced but to this day it works when it wants to and I brought this to the repairmans attention when he came to replace an element in the oven and he didn’t even offer to take a look at it. We called Whirlpool on the 27th of December to get service on the oven and was told nobody could get here until the 2nd of January. This ruined New Years Eve Plans, New Years Day Plans and our turkey which should have taken a max 5 hours on Christmas Day took 11 hours putting our dinner off until 8:00 pm. We purchased the extended warranty ($700.00) to protect us from high bills for repair and this oven issue ended up costing us about $800.00 for meals out. I asked at the time of my call if there was some kind of rebate to cover our meals and the inconvenience over the holidays and they told me no, that’s pretty bad for such a huge company. Our dishwasher which is also Whirlpool hasn’t worked since day one, we had a repairman out and all he said was, run your hot water before you use it and use Cascade, it’s no longer under warranty and there’s pieces falling off and I have to wash my dishes before I put them through the dishwasher so what’s the use of having one. We purchased all Whirlpool because of the reputation but well never buy Whirlpool again or recommend them.

NU40T61-403 have had problems since day one. First problem was while heating up would make loud humming noise. Whirlpool sent out plumber. He adjusted plate under tank. That worked for about 2 months. Then pilot started going out. They send same plumber out again, also sent replacement part. Problem was fixed however about 2 months after that started leaking and flooding our garage. Called company again, was told that is no longer under warranty and stated we need a thermal expansion tank. I stated “why would we need this? This unit is only a little over a year old. Im not going to purchase another tank. A water heater should not overheat like this.” Long story short my husband has been burnt severely from the pressure build up as he was out in our garage walking past the tank when it decided to release pressure even though no water was being used at that time. He ended up at the ER with 2nd-3rd degree burns. I called Whirlpool again and was only told we need to install the expansion tank. Im so unhappy with this product I will never buy anything made by whirlpool again.....

Whirlpool Refrigerator: Model # WRT111SFDW - We bought this frost-free frig. in Feb of 2016 and this Feb. before the year was up, it started freezing up. I called the Co. and they sent a young man to my house to fix it and he thought he had. Well 2 wks after that it started freezing again and I called the Co. again and the same thing happened again and this was after my warranty had expired. Well then this young man came out and replaced the fan and a heating rod I believe to help it to stop freezing. Well 2 days ago it started freezing up once again. Im disabled and live on a fix income so now Ive got to figure out to get me another frig. And it WILL NOT BE A WHIRLPOOL REFRIGERATOR. But kudos to the Co. and the young man for trying to fix it even though it took 3XS and still not working.

This is a freezer on top unit. Purchased in 2015, unit quit cooling, started making a roaring noise. Called local technician, he added 2 oz of Freon, said he has seen many of these same unit losing Freon. Technician said line that goes to compressor is copper and hooks up to aluminum line before attaching to compressor. This is leak point for freon; no way to know when the leak started, but freon almost gone and cost to pressure check for source of leak is costly and probably would not repair problem. Got 6 yrs out of it and I am replacing with another brand. Will never buy Whirlpool again. Should have got 10-12 yrs of use. Do not buy this unit. Wrote Whirlpool first, but no help. Indicated this could be a problem with these units but no recall so I am on my own. Out $900 for a new refrigerator. Big hassle. Unit no good.

He advised me to just toss it and buy Hotpoint which has a much better consumer report rating. Sad.

I had an upscale Frigidaire suite of kitchen appliances and I loved them. A few years later I moved and needed a new set. I thought Whirlpool was about the same and I bought a Whirlpool set. The stove wont boil water or even fry an egg. It heats up and cuts off continuously. I called a service rep out and he called the engineer who told him it is designed like that and I need to use hot water on the stove to boil it. I was shocked at his ignorance and insulted by his stupidity. Ive been cooking for 60+ years and everyone who cooks knows you use cold water to boil water. But really, the stove does not cook anything. When frying eggs the burners cut off every few seconds to the point you cannot cook anything with it and the engineer said thats the way they designed it. DONT BUY WHIRLPOOL. THEY WONT EVEN BOIL WATER. HORRIBLE STOVE AND ONCE YOU HAVE IT YOU ARE STUCK WITH IT.

I have replaced all parts and it still does it. They are going to buy me a new one someday. I’m tired of this. This should not be happening. They are ripping people off. Both have worked exceptionally, I must say -- clothes come much much cleaner, keep their color, and last much longer vs. top loaders (Im sure the water softener helps). Two separate techs just confirmed the circuit boards went on the washer ($450 with labor) to replace. Washer looks brand new, but now will be going to the curb.

Hot water heater model #0833T402747 purchased late 2008 - Several service calls had to be made to a plumber, due to this unit not working. The door assembly was shipped to me by Whirlpool. I had to pay again for the plumber to install this part. Hes been here 3-4 times since I bought the unit. Last Wednesday, May 2, 2012, no hot water again. The same plumber came out and said the door assembly had again gone bad. Whirlpool was contacted on Thursday morning and would not agree to do anything. They were given my plumbers name and number and I never heard back from them. I contacted Lowes in Acworth, GA and they agreed to replace the hot water heater. So now Im forced to pay for another install. I requested that Whirlpool pay this expense, and their representative, **, said no. I intend to sue them for all monies spent on this lemon and due to this lemon, I will never buy another Whirlpool product of any kind. I have told family and friends and theyve agreed that due to the bad product and worse customer service, they will also stay away from purchasing anything made by this company. Whirlpool certainly wont be hurt by me and me alone. But Ill make sure that anyone I run into at Lowes or anywhere else is even looking at a Whirlpool product will get an earful from me. This is the type of customer service that consumers dont have to put up with anymore. There are many resources on the internet to get the word out and I intend to spend a great deal of my time doing just that.

Also have to set the temp for 25 degrees higher than the one I want. The burner that supposedly has two sizes in one is basically useless. Temps are not correct and sizes are misleading. There is a tiny groove around the outside edge of the stove top that gathers crumbs which are hard to clean out.

I had this washer (WTW7990XGO) 5 years and finally had to replace it. It started with the touchscreen. No matter how often it was calibrated it was very frustrating to get it to respond. It would start dinging and going thru all the cycles at random times. Then there was the error code for the door lock. The door lock wasnt the problem, the surround was slightly warped and the door wasnt catching. Warped Im sure from having to literally climb into the machine to retrieve the clothes! Then a few months later it was another error code - the machine wasnt draining fast enough. It didnt drain at all. We had to use a water hose to drain it. After the second time with that, I went and bought a new washer - different brand, dials - no touch screen, and it has an agitator. Unfortunately, I ran into other customers in the appliance department who were having the same issues from 2 other brands of electronic washers. We all went back to as old school as was available.

I bought a Whirlpool gold model #GB2F-1DXW507 / k27711376 when we remodeled our kitchen in October 2012. After a couple months I noticed water on my floor, then in the bottom of the freezer. I called Lowe’s. They sent out a repairman. He said it was a flaw in the design and put the redesigned part in. When they delivered the fridge they changed the door to a left hand open and it was never right. After 2 years the ice maker stopped working. I just started buying ice. Today 5 years and 5 months later they said it will cost me almost $500.00 to fix the electric board and the Ice maker. The fridge stopped working would not get cold. And the certified Whirlpool repairman said it was a very good looking fridge and he would fix it with a 90 day warranty on the genuine Whirlpool parts for almost $500.00. I said I wasnt a idiot. Why would I spend that kind of money for JUNK. After reading some reviews I think Whirlpool knows just what junk they are selling. I called and all they said was, “Thats too bad. We will take it under advisement.” I bought mine 1st then 1 year later my sister and sister-in-law bought theirs. 3 fridges with all the same leaking issues. I hope they dont end up with all the same problems.

After 50+ years of doing laundry, I had to purchase my 3rd washer. I bought the new top loader without an agitator. I very quickly learned that it has no lint filter. My first load was towels and mats. The lint clogged up my tub and drain pouring water all over the floor. Since then it has ruined many of my clothes which are mostly sweaters and sweater-knits. Without a lint filter, it deposits the lint right back on the clothes where it stays forever unless I shave or pick it off, even though Ive turned them inside-out. (Time consuming waste!) Even my socks have little balls of lint. It seems the only safe fabrics are new, smooth woven cottons, cotton-blends and slippery nylon providing there is no lace or brushed elastic. Now to the no fabric-softener dispenser... The Downy ball simply doesnt work, and theres no other way to add it. Waiting to use dryer sheets is too late; the damage is done. My clothes are dingy. In my 50+ years of ownership, I have never had to purchase a separate product to wash my washer so that it doesnt stink... and it does. Why does it lock after starting? If I could afford to replace it, I would... but I cant.

My 4- to 5-year-old Whirlpool Cabrio 6300 began to display errors recently.
My 4- to 5-year-old Whirlpool Cabrio 6300 began to display errors recently. F1 was the 1st error code I encountered. After giving the washer a hard shove and rocking, it began to work properly again... for a while. I noticed on some large loads that I was getting an LD Long Drain error. I could hear the pump running but with little water flow. Eventually, it would time out and give the LD error. A service tech was called and determined that the water pump was defective, although the impellers inside appeared okay and had no foreign objects to impede its spinning. After spending $225 for the service call, the LD error resurfaced about an hour after the tech left. Tonight I got the F1 error again, and once again the washer responded to a sharp rap. The replacement control board, which the F1 error code involves, is $220 plus labor. $440+ for a repair to a $600-$700 washer? Im going to dissect the main control board tomorrow and look for loose or corroded connections. I cant understand why the LD code occurs when I can hear the drain pump running... just very little comes out. Other times it empties like Niagara falls... I cant understand why it works sometimes and fails others. The pump is either on or off. It doesnt have multiple speeds as far as I know. Im not sure what to do next... probably try to re-sell the new pump that was installed to recoup some of the money I paid for a non-working Cabrio. This seems to be a very common occurrence.. Have any class action suits been mentioned? If so, please feel free to contact me.

In 2006, I paid $1,300 for above fridge and bought extended warranty. Within a year, I had four service calls for condensation in bins that causes freezing of lunchmeat, veggies, etc. and anything put in them. The A&E service company said to use plastic bags and then said I should keep the bin drawers open at an inch so air could flow. Next call said vacuuming underneath would solve it. Final call said again to use bags and suggested modifying the fridge by making a hole in the sidewall (which would nullify the warranty).Since I declined modifying the fridge, he contacted Whirlpool saying I declined service. I still have this problem, was going to call for service because I could really use the space the drawer provides but I have a feeling I will just be throwing money away. I was going to contact Whirlpool but Ive done that too. I feel totally ripped off on an item that should have quite a few years of service left.

I am concerned that Whirlpool microwaves installed over the stove have extremely faulty doors. I have two homes in which I have Whirlpool microwaves, and both have huge cracks in the door and small pieces inside the doors beginning to fall out. It deeply concerns me that it will cost more to replace the doors than to replace the microwaves. I have always believed in Whirlpool appliances but now feel that I will have to change brands. My question is “What in the world is wrong with your doors that they crack so easily and the company holds no responsibility with such faulty work?” I would simply think that this was just a faulty door on my microwave, but I have two that are cracked! This definitely means you have a faulty product.

Two years ago, we bought a Whirlpool gas range, model WFG361LVQ2. The range-top grates were porcelain-coated, smooth and shiny. The range itself has worked flawlessly (Admittedly, it gets only light use in our elderly household, which consists of me and my wife). The only complaint I have is that the porcelain on the grates is failing. On one of the grates, its flaking off where the flame contacts with it during cooking (Photos attached). On another two, the porcelain has developed a surface roughness thats clearly a prelude to same type of damage as the first. The fourth grate still appears to be intact. The differences in damage is no doubt due to the different amount of use that each receives. When I called Whirlpool, a supervisor there told me that grates have no specific life expectancy, and that is true for plain metal grates as well has porcelain-coated grates. She also said that some chemicals can penetrate the porcelain and shorten its life. I told her we didnt use any chemicals on the grates, but only rarely used common kitchen scouring powder, and I cant imagine the powder or the chlorine in the powder could do that kind of damage. When I asked what it would cost to replace the four grates, she said $187. I told her the entire stove cost about $500, and it didnt make sense to pay almost $200 to buy grates every two years for the next thirty years. I told her that the grates on our previous (non-Whirlpool) range lasted the life of the range - about forty years. So I declined to purchase new grates, despite her offer of a one-time discount of 25%. Though the grates are becoming eyesores, theyre still perfectly usable. So Ill hang onto them until I can find some bare metal ones to replace them.

We purchased a brand new home with a brand new Whirlpool microwave in it. It was a combo, over the range/hood vent, model WMH1162XVB-0. Every now and again, sparks fly when preparing vegetables. Three times a repairman came to our home with no results. Each time, the problem persisted, with no improvement. On the first visit, the diagnosis was that we did not know how to properly use a microwave. It was noted that they gave us operating instructions and a personal tutorial to solve the problem. On the 2nd visit, we were instructed to buy a protective cover for our bowls when using the microwave. I asked if this would solve the problem, and was told no, but at least we wouldnt see it. This time, the random sparks happened in front of the repair man. He responded that it was the high iron content in the corn and peas that would ignite the sparks. Also, he said we needed to thaw everything before putting it in the microwave. Again, our issue was listed as consumer-use error and nothing was done.On the 3rd visit, we explained that we could not use the microwave on any setting higher than 70 for risking of sparks flying. We showed him the cover we were using, and the permanent marks being left by sparks. Again, the serviceman witnessed the sparks flying, even on thawed peas and corn that simply needed to be heated. He responded that by adjusting the power, and using the cover, we were obviously learning how to work the microwave and informed us that the next service call for this issue would be at our expense. There was nothing they would do for us, as the problem was our fault, not theirs. We explained that other neighbors with the same microwaves are not having this trouble, and we felt it was simply a faulty unit. He didnt seem to agree, nor care what we felt.I have been using microwaves daily for over 20 years. Our neighbors, having the same exact model, have had no issues at all. I know this is simply a faulty unit, and feel endangered each time I use the microwave. Whats even worse is the way Whirlpool has handled our situation. Our microwave is now 4 years old, and I have learned to rely on my toaster oven. When people visit, we have to caution them on the microwave. I will never buy any Whirlpool appliance for my home again. I do not trust the quality of their products or their service.

Purchased washer 01/20/2012 after prior bad experience with washer, purchased from Sears. The washer is two years old and began making an awful noise and quit spinning the clothes dry. I too have had problems with getting service and cant see spending $500.00 for repairs on a washer that cost me $653.81 to purchase. Whirlpool and Sears better take their head out of their bum before the completely decimate their customer base. Why arent these problems being fairly addressed? It says a lot that your original warranty is only a year and any additional warranty is cost prohibiting. Save yourself some money and frustration and buy the old fashioned top loaders with standard agitation. AND WHIRLPOOL CAN AND SHOULD BUY A VOWEL AND REALIZE THAT IF IT DOESNT WORK IT ISNT MORE EFFICIENT!!!

I have a Whirlpool Gas Water Heater, product #0733136, that was installed in 2010. The pilot has repeatedly gone out and had to be re-lit. After reading some of the comments, I am amazed that other people were told to verify gas supply with the gas company (done) and clean the air intake (done) and then to call customer service and be told to do the intake cleaning again (done professionally six days ago). I will never buy another Whirlpool appliance, and fortunately, I am in property management and can advise others to avoid this company as well. I am extremely disappointed in Lowes for not doing a better job of providing reliable choices for their customers especially after these many complaints over the years. I have decided to replace the water heater with another brand immediately.

Its a front loader and has lots of cycles and temperature to choose from. Its setting on a pedestal so its not too low. I dont like the way the soap is dispensed.. If you still have the door open when you pour it in the dispenser it almost comes out on you. It also knots your clothes up and makes them hard to get out. The rest is good.

My husband and I bought a brand new front load washer and dryer set in 2011
My husband and I bought a brand new front load washer and dryer set in 2011. We have had nothing but issues since the day they were delivered. First off the dryer, needed to be repaired after one load of laundry just went through. We were told that the thermostat went bad... needless to say we have replaced that one thing 4 times since we purchased them. Secondly the washer, this makes me so mad. I have 3 children, 2 of them have allergies and Asthma. I clean my washer regularly with vinegar and a special front loader liquid. I have mold in the areas where I put the liquids in. I have to take them apart every week to make sure they are clean. I leave the drawer open to air dry when Im finished with laundry for the day. I leave the door open and I still get mold everywhere. I do laundry on a daily basis, this should not be happening. Im so disappointed with this brand and I will never buy them again!

I had the junky gas water heater for two years and cant keep the thing lit.
I had the junky gas water heater for two years and cant keep the thing lit. Calling Whirlpool does no good. They give you the runaround; the store cant do anything. They know they have a faulty product and keep selling it. Some companies are only out for the money. If that wasnt the case, they would discontinue the junk. They will send you replacement parts but if you know nothing about them, you have to put out more money for someone to come and fix it. I would love to send them the bill! I would not recommend this brand of anything to anyone.

We purchased a new stainless steel Whirlpool refrigerator in February 2015.
We purchased a new stainless steel Whirlpool refrigerator in February 2015. Within the first few days the fridge door handle broke off. Not that we have super human strength in our 60s but the handle connection is a very thin plastic. We put it down to the possibility that the warehouse or shippers may have banged it and perhaps we just didnt notice the initial crack. The handle was out of stock so it took 8 weeks before the new one arrived. This week the freezer door handle cracked! Same problem - cheap plastic handle connector doesnt withstand the vacuum seal. Whirlpools handle connection to the door is comprised of a 1/8th inch thick by 1/4 inch square piece of brittle plastic. This is screwed onto the door. In reality this needs to be metal. Enough said… Check out the handle connection before you buy this appliance. You will wait months for replacement parts as they cannot seem to keep enough of them in stock.
