Replaced the “brain” twice. No hot water for 2-4 days each time, waiting for part to arrive. Now I have to replace the nylon drain valve because it won’t shut off. Gonna use brass replacement. Fortunately I have it drain to a sump pump so house isn’t flooding. Don’t buy Whirlpool water heater from Lowe’s unless you enjoy this kind of thing. Consolation: the folks at the help line always answer the phone and are knowledgeable. And they’ve heard these same complaints over and over. One guy even said to buy AO Smith as they are made in Tennessee instead of China.

I just replaced our Whirlpool Accubake Double Wall oven, model RBD305PDS14, because it fried the control panel after being put on self clean. This was the second time this has happened and I have probably only used the self clean feature three times since we purchased the oven. Im not a specialist in defective product design, but having a control panel burn up two out of three times when the self clean is used suggests a significant problem. I refused to pay to have it replaced again and obviously did not replace it with another Whirlpool product or any other brand associated with the company. I see that this problem has a long history dating back quite a few years with Whirlpool doing little or nothing to resolve the issue. (They just deny any knowledge about any defect in the design.) Fool me once, shame on you! Fool me twice shame on me!

I purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio Set from a local store. Just over a year later, the washer got very loud like a jet engine. Called the registered repairman, he came out took a look and said he would get back to me. Called him 3 times over 3 weeks, no show (Hoodland Appliance). Called someone else, repaired it for $400.00. Called Whirlpool, they are not interested. 2 years later now and the machine is getting loud again. This is due to the spin throws water up and it is able to get out of the tub and down into the barring and the soap residue wears the barring out. Bad design. Called Whirlpool again and again they are not interested but can put me in touch with a repairman. I will not repair again but will use until dies and buy something else not related to Whirlpool. So much for energy efficiency.

I purchased a washer from Whirlpool through Home Depot on August 7, 2014 and on Dec 31st, 2014 the washer broke. I called Home Depot and was told to call Whirlpool since I was still under a year warranty. After numerous calls I was referred to Advantage |Appliances, a company that provides repair services for Whirlpool. After a week the technician showed up and briefly inspects the machine to conclude that there were two problems with the machine: The controller is defective and there might be another problem since the water is not draining. An order was placed for the part and another week went by with still no part. I called the corporate office only to hear that it might take 5 to 7 days to receive it. In the meantime I had laundry piling up. I was forced to go to the laundromat with one arm in a cast and a painful lower back. I finally received the part on Friday and the technician arrived on Saturday to install the part and then announces that she was willing to fix the water pump but had to get paid in cash since this was not included in the warranty. Now mind you! This woman knew about the problem from her last visit but made believe that it wasnt a problem. Advantage Appliance makes money by extorting their customers out of money. This young lady stood there without blinking asking me to pay her $89.50 to do the job she was suppose to do in the first place. I purchased an extended warranty from Home Depot only to find out that they would not be able to do anything since I was still under warranty. I have never been so angry and want Whirlpool to take responsibility. I am sitting with a washer half full with water and no one is stepping up to do something! Whirlpool is disgusting! The corporate office was not friendly or nice about this situation. They dont care! Why do businesses like Whirlpool get away with this? This is not acceptable.

Ive owned this Whirlpool, bottom freezer refrigerator for two and a half years now. About a year ago I began to notice water on the floor in front of it. I had the ice maker hooked up, which I never used, so I disconnected that. The problem continued. I discovered that the bottom of the freezer compartment would fill with ice and once full the next dose of water would flood the surrounding floor. I have cleared the ice out, on a weekly basis, but have still had the water flow onto my floor. Its a daily thing now as Ive gotten tired of pulling the unit out and removing the ice build-up on a weekly basis. My replacement refrigerator will not likely be a Whirlpool of any model.

I bought a Maytag front load washer on October 24, 2010. I have not been able to use it because it came damaged by the manufacturers. I contacted them by phone several times and it took them three months to send someone (A and E sears repair). Two months passed and I did not get the parts necessary or a replacement washer. I kept calling and finally they sent someone again in May 2011. They said they where going to order the parts because the new company was not going to replace the machine, even though it was already damaged. They said I would get the parts between three-five business days. I only got one part. A and E sent a repair guy again on the 22nd of June. This one said they needed the entire machine in parts and that he would order the parts. I called A and E one week later and they said they were waiting for the on manufacturer to send the parts (Whirlpool). The 26th and the 27th of July, I got the parts. On the 22nd of July, another repairman came and said we needed more parts. Today, August 16, 2011, I called Whirlpool and A and E and now they said the parts wont be here till after October 26, which by then I would have to pay for the parts and labor if I wanted it fixed because by then the one-year warranty would have expired. So here I am with a $700 washer, which was never used and they refused to fix/replace. They sold me a lemon!

Purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio Washer 5 years ago because our other washer died after coming home from vacation. Its just 2 people in this household so I dont do mountains of laundry. The other machine lasted 15 years so go figure. We purchased the Cabrio from Lowes. Got the extended warranty but as it goes the machine fails when all warranties expires. Over the last couple of weeks this machine started to not complete a wash cycle. All lights go off except for spin light and machine stops. Even asked the person in charge of washers and dryers at Lowes about this who then told me to get an extension cord and plug it into a different outlet. Seriously! I have had to unplug the machine after it fails to complete cycle, wait 5 minutes or so, plug it back in, select rinse and spin, it fails again 13 minutes left in cycle, unplug again, plug it back in, select drain and spin, wait for it to MAYBE complete that cycle. Do not purchase this type of machine. Just for a technician to come look at it is $100 or more and to replace whatever circuit board is probably another $300 or more. Screw that! Going to find a good old fashion one if possible. Piece of junk. Not going to spend $700 or $1000 just to wash clothes for 2 people.

Whirlpool Cabrio - Our washing machine just started leaking water with oil underneath. This would be our third repair since purchasing this machine but it doesnt sound like a repair is possible or worth it. Its too bad we cant go back to the old models. They definitely lasted longer with no problems. Companies should make the older models bigger and forget about the front loaders and newer models without the agitators. Too much shaking in the machine causes too many repairs!

Whirlpool ED5FVGXWS refrigerator compressor failed after 24 months. No help from Whirlpool as the said 12-month warranty had run out. I do understand it’s my bad luck, but they really should try harder to back the products they make. Two years on a compressor is totally unacceptable. They could care less. I even proposed a $200 rebate on a new Whirlpool fridge. My bad luck wasn’t the compressor going out, it was buying the fridge in the first place. Shame on you Whirlpool! Viva la Mexico! They told me I could use it as a boat anchor.

Whirpool Part #WPW10564292 refrigerator handle - I am a property manager who has 264 units. We have only been open for 1.5 years and have had to replace 30-40 door handles because they crack at the top where screws are. We tried calling Whirlpool Customer Service because obviously this is a defect and she said they looked in the system and didnt see any recall or issues. We also asked for a representative from Whirlpool to stop out so we could show them the issues and she said we have nobody in the area. We have 9 service requests outstanding that need a new refrigerator handle. On July 19th, we ordered 3 handles from our distributor and we were told theyre on back order until September 6th. When I called at the end of August to make sure we were on schedule with delivery, I was informed they are now on back order until November 5th. I just called our part rep. this morning and now they said the current part number does not exists and gave me the new part # W11026870, and they are on back order until mid or end of November. I am not going to keep quiet about this issue. We have paid $79.89 per handle on a refrigerator that is only a 1 to 2 years old appliance. I am requesting a returned call or email on what you are going to be able to do for us. This is not right or fair to a company that spent a large amount of money to have your appliances in 264 units.

We bought this washer on 9/05/09. Recently, it sprung a leak due to a worn out seal that the repairman said would cost more to fix than just getting another washer. You would think this might be cause for distress, but I literally jumped in the air and clicked my heels with joy! This washer has been nothing but a pain. First of all, I have to pre-soak every load before washing or the clothes come out just as dirty as they went in. I would set the timer on my stove to let me know when the 40 min soak cycle ended so I could change it to wash. Then I reset the timer for another 40 minutes. I also learned the hard way, that using any kind of heavy duty setting would turn towels into a pile of yarn. This washer cost $998, and guilt is the only reason I didnt replace it years ago. Ding Dong the washer is DEAD!!!

I purchased Whirlpool Microwave/Convection Oven a little over a year ago. It needed repair four times and the latest repair debacle appears that it will take ~5-6 weeks to get it repaired if the part that comes in works. The microwave model number is GMH6185XVS1. I will never buy another Whirlpool appliance. I spoke with Whirlpool (not the extended warranty company to which I was referred), and they refused to help, period. The extended warranty company (although very nice), werent much help and will continue to attempt repairs until the price of the repair(s) exceeds the value of the microwave no matter how it inconveniences my household.

I bought a portable dishwasher on 6/29/15. It didnt clean well, didnt drain properly. (I followed guidelines from the USER INFORMATION and used rinse). I called a plumber to clean out my pipes. My dishes were still dirty. I purchased an entire soft water system from Culligan. My dishes were still dirty. I called Whirlpool and Pacific Sales where I bought the machine, and got no assistance. On 10/2014 I spent $263.50 to repair and replace parts so the machine would drain. Sometime in January of 2015 it stopped draining again. I just got off the phone with Whirlpool who will not take any responsibility for this lemon. You offered me a policy to purchase for over $200!!! You want me to spend MORE money on a machine that never worked right???? How is that help? How is that standing behind your product? Then there was some lame offer to pay for parts, ONLY if I used your extremely expensive repair people and pay for labor, and $139 just to show up at my door. I asked who I can write to or talk to about this and was told by Sherri that there was no one to talk to but her. Really? Give me a reason to ever consider a Whirlpool product and to not slam Whirlpool whenever someones considering it.

We purchased the Whirlpool Cabrio washing machine around January 2006, and from the start weve had nothing but problems with this appliance. Within the first year, water was leaking under the washer which was coming from a crack in the plastic housing of the water pump. I replaced the pump myself to save on labor. No big deal. The very next year, I started getting the F51 code and there was no way for me to get around calling a service company to have it repaired. $350 and one circuit board later, it was repaired. It remained working without fail until recently when it began giving the same F51 code. Let me guess, another $350 for better repair? I have to assume that the new circuit board that was installed wasnt any better than the original one that was replaced. I wouldnt put another $1 into this hunk of junk and Whirlpool should be ashamed to have this product on the market. I will never buy another Whirlpool product.

Whirlpool appliance suite purchased May 2013. Whirlpool Gold French door refrigerator with bottom freezer, Model #GX5FHTXV. At the end of my kitchen remodel, I was excited to have my new Whirlpool appliances delivered by an authorized Whirlpool installer. When the refrigerator install was complete, I alerted the delivery people the French doors were not aligned properly. There was at least 1/4 difference at the top of the doors. They did their best to fix the problem to no avail.I called the Specialty Appliance store to complain and they had a repair man come a few short days later to examine the issue. He inspected the problem and had to order new door parts. A few long weeks later, the repair man came to install the new parts. Well, to my disgust, the new parts did not fix the problem. This next sentence only refers to the place I bought the darn thing. I then called Specialty Appliance to inquire about returning the appliance and of course they wouldnt take the appliance. Im stuck with it. The workman ship is cheap. The internal drawers are poor at best. I spent a good deal of money on what I thought would be a good product. My previous appliance suite was Whirlpool and I NEVER had issues the 13 years I had them.Whirlpool Gold freestanding double oven gas range, Model #GGG388LX. Problem: oven catches fire while self-cleaning oven. Big problem. Takes forever to get rid of the smell that leaves behind. The range itself has worked well. No issues with cooktop and its easy to clean. The grates dont stay black and look rusted in a couple of places. Oven cooks well as I know how to make adjustments as to not overcook meals.Following cleaning instructions provided by Whirlpool, I wipe out the oven (when cool) after spills if there are any. I thought I would run the self clean since Ive had the appliance over a year to properly maintain it. BAD IDEA. After running the self clean cycle for about 35 min, I noticed fire. Wanting to protect my $60K remodel investment, I quickly cancelled the clean cycle and watched smoke pour out of the top. Not a fun experience. It took about 15 minutes for the fire inside the bottom compartment to finally go out. Wont be self cleaning my self-clean oven again! By the way, I didnt clean the oven with chemicals because the owners manual states not to and I HATE using those chemical anyway. Again, stuck with an appliance I am not satisfied with. Lesson learned? Yes, I will NEVER buy a Whirlpool product again. Kinda wish I still had my old white ones...

I purchased a 12 year warranty, high end Whirlpool WATER HEATER (OR SO I THOUGHT AT THE TIME) through Lowes in 2014. Model ND50T122-403. Six years and multiple service calls later it is broken again, this time for the final time. I am ripping this garbage out. So livid with this company that could give a rip about their customers. Three years in to my 12 year warranty it started giving me problems. Horrible HORRIBLE customer service. They will insult your intelligence. Whirlpool will not honor the warranty or stand behind their product. They just take your money and basically give a shrug of the shoulders or worse blame you for THEIR TERRIBLE product failing. It may be unscrupulous and unethical but I guess saves them a pile of money which is what they seem to only be out.The Service Tech that came for the 4th time to repair it says they see this all the time in Whirlpool water heaters. Its a Design Flaw they say. I dont know about all that. I just know when I have been swindled. The electronics are garbage. The pilot light when it goes out is not easily reset as others have mentioned on this site. Will stay lit for while and then shuts down. Whirlpool says, despite reams of evidence to the contrary it must be a safety issue in the install, which they have absolutely zero evidence of therefore, they are not honoring the warranty. They are Blaming the installers, according to our service techs who tried to order the part thats supposed to be under warranty. The original installers, by the way were from Lowes, the outfit that sold me this hot mess. Another Class action lawsuit seems ripe. Or perhaps the consumer protection division from each states Attorneys General would be interested in protecting their citizens from practices like this. Lowes is complicit in allowing it, failing to protect their customers and not calling Whirlpool out for it. I cant think of a more deserving target of consumer protection than Whirlpool. A truly horrible, expensive experience. See the Whirlpool logo and RUN - - DO NOT WALK -- THE OTHER WAY!

I have never posted a negative product review but must do so now. The refrigerator is 1 1/2 years old at most and has been well taken care of. I noticed today that the finish at either side of the bottom of each refrigerator door handle has a problem. I couldnt tell if the finish was pitting or is just discolored. I called customer service and expected that they would help, especially since we have an extended warranty. Representative number one told me that the extended warranty only covers problems that affect the function of the product. I spoke to her supervisor and then her supervisor. I got plenty of apologies but no support. I offered to send pictures, but they were not even interested in checking out the problem. After speaking to them, I took the handle off and I see now that the handle cut into some sort of film that exists on the metal. (I am not talking about the protective plastic coating that is on the the refrigerator at delivery.) The film is lifting off the surface and creating discoloration. If Whirlpool was at all concerned, I think this issue could be fixed with some sort of gasket to keep the metal handle from cutting into the surface. Im hoping the problem is static, but hard to say what will happen. If they had been interested in trying to understand the cause of the problem, it would have been easier to accept the limitations of the warranty. It would have demonstrated an interest in avoiding this problem for other consumers in the future. My last Whirlpool product. Period. Good luck if you decide to do business with them.

I purchased a top load Whirlpool washer from Lowes 2-8-12. It got so it wouldnt rinse. When it came to that cycle, it just skipped it and went directly to spin. I dont know how long it was doing this before I caught it. A repairman came out said I would need the equivalent of a motherboard that would cost $330.00. Needless to say, couldnt afford that amount for repair. So I purchased a very nice used Amana for $100.00. I always thought Whirlpool was a top of the line product. This has changed my mind. If it wont last any longer than 5 years I dont want it. There are just the two of us and we are retired so the machine was not overused. I am so disappointed and angry about this.

I havent had my Whirlpool Cabrio washer for even 5 years and I have had to replace the glass lid and now the tub bearings need to be replaced... I have read countless complaints for the same issue. I feel like Whirlpool should at least send out free replacement bearings and the $85.00 bearing press tool that you will need if youre handy enough to fix the problem yourself. PS to all of the poor victims of Whirlpool bearings, go to Amazon and you can buy the bearings and the tool for about $150.00. You will need to order bearings part #10435302 and the bearing driver tool #w10447783... And as far as my matching dryer - knock on wood - it still runs great.

I do not know if my mail would be read or not, but I am writing it just to my satisfaction. I am a doctor (dentist) living in Haridwar. I had bought a Whirlpool fridge around 2-3 years back. I am not sure about the date. I have the bill. I will have to check the exact date. So around 3 months back, the fridge stopped cooling and I lodged a complaint in your customer care center. The engineer turned up, and he said that the compressor was not working and the company will change it. We only have to pay for the gas to be refilled. I said ok. Everything went well for nearly 3 months, then again one fine day, the cooling stopped. I called the companys customer care, and they gave me a complaint number and customer satisfaction number. But nobody turned up for 2 days. I called and called, then after much calling, a guy from the company came and said that the compressor was not working and they have to change it but that it will not be possible for 4 days. After 4 days, he will come.Sir, can you live without a fridge for 4 days and not getting the guarantee that it will be ok in the next 4 days? So, I went to the market bought a Kirloskar compressor, got it fixed, and got the gas filled; and the fridge is working fine now on the same day. This cost me nearly 4500rs, but I am happy that I have solved the problem. Till date, nobody has come to see my problem; and to my utter surprise, I received an SMS from Whirlpool that the customer is not willing to pay. Ha ha ha. My fridge is a double-door 280-liter fridge. What should I do?

Whirlpool Gold appliances are junk!!! Our dishwasher just stopped working one day. It was about 2 years old. We tried all the troubleshooting ideas we found on the internet. Nothing worked. I had a 13 Year old working dishwasher when I bought this one. Sure wish I had left well enough alone. I think there should be a class action lawsuit against Whirlpool. I had also purchased a new electric range... It is constantly giving me an error message when I try to use the oven. We have to flip the breaker and that sometimes helps. I bought 4 of the Gold appliances... I’m holding my breath on the other 2. I thought I had done a good job researching before I bought. I remodeled my kitchen. It turns out that a company that I believed was reputable and worthy of my business are not.

I owned a Maytag washer for 30 wonderful years, so I of course bought a new one. I have battled with my Maytag (Whirlpool) front loading stackable top of the line washing machine for 2 1/2 years. It will not drain, yet sometimes it will. I have played every game with this machine to figure why. I had a repair company out 5 times while it was under warranty and they could never find the problem. It is totally unpredictable. If I could bill Whirlpool for my time and anguish I would own this company! They now say it is the computer board and I will have to pay $350 for a new service contract to fix the machine. I not very politely said that they should pay me for all my emotional abuse. They offered me another option saying they would pay for a service company to come out and look again. However, I would have to pay the labor and material cost. Since I have a stackable unit and it would take 2 technicians I would have to pay $90 for the second person. I was so mad that I called Whirlpool back and they refused to offer me that $350 charge and just said sorry. I are fortunate to have a lake house which needs a new washer. Guess what? It will NOT be a Whirlpool product. I wish I could go to the store where I purchased this holy terror and picket!

Control board was replaced a couple times since we bought house. We just put up with it. The tub has a manufacturers defect in bottom where the plastic is so thin it finally cracked and over time water trickling out went to wall. Then ruined an area in finished basement ceiling. I purchased an Electric Whirlpool Aqualift convection range in November of 2012. This product is garbage! The oven doesnt work well (temperature is always off), the Agualift cleaning method doesnt work well. You have to self-clean to clean it. The most troubling problem is that just after a year of owning it, the finish on the control panel started to crackle. I called Whirlpool, and all they can do is send me a replacement part for which I have to pay for and have installed. My last GE range lasted over 15 years. This range is garbage from day 1. Hate to see what it will look like in another year or if it will be working at all. BEWARE - DO NOT BUY WHIRLPOOL PRODUCTS!

I recently purchased a Whirlpool Gold Edition double range. After a couple of uses, the top oven thermostat went on the blink. I sat the thermostat to preheat. After 20 mins. and a call to the warranty department, the oven never reached the desired temperature. The warranty department sent a repair person who could find nothing wrong with the stove. I called Lowes and told them I couldnt trust the oven not to do it again (after several times of it happening and resetting the circuit breaker). This would be a disaster if it happened during the holidays when I cook for 20 or more people. Lowes manager said they wanted me to feel comfortable so they replaced the entire range. GUESS WHAT... 2 weeks after having the new one... same problem. I set the thermostat to 400 degrees and when it got to 390, I saw the light blinking. Waiting 10 more mins, nothing changed. I hit the cancel button, reset the bake... the thermostat, when I turned it back on, showed 365... What the heck! I didnt open the oven door. Whirlpool ranges are a piece of crap. I am calling Lowes again tomorrow to return and advise them to stop selling the junk. Dont blame Lowes... They do the best they can with the crap they sell.

I bought two Whirlpool (Model: bfg1j4o4t3nov4o) natural gas water heaters. The pilot light would go out to so I re-lit it and sit in the attic until the water got hot and the burner go out. But before the burner went out, I could see the flame go from blue to yellow and hear the water dripping down on the burner. So, after the burner goes out, the water would drip down on the pilot light putting it out. They sent me a thermo coupling for free but that was never the problem. The problem is that the water heaters are poorly insulated which causes the water to drip down on the pilot, putting it out. To make a long story short, no part they send will fix these heaters. I have a GE heater in my house for 20 plus years and it is still kicking. I should have went back with that same heater. For some good news, I got my money back from Lowes. I raised so much hell in that store that the manger gave me my money back just to get me out of his store. I made them realize that all we want is our hard-earned money back from a product that does not work.

I have the model FG1H5040T3NOV water heater and had found this message board. I called the number posted by Chris with American Water Heater and provided them with my serial number. They shipped me the replacement assembly next day and after about an hour, I had it installed and working again. Im not too happy with the fact that it failed, but it does appear they have their act together in getting the replacement parts distributed.Based on the discussion with the person on the phone, my only real gripe is this: the cause of the component failure was potentially caused by a dirty-flame trap that supposedly needs to be cleaned regularly. Since the trap is underneath the water heater and is in no way really accessible, relying on people to see the fine print in the manual (which hardly anyone reads) isnt sufficient. At an absolute minimum, a very clear and apparent sticker should be included on all water heaters indicating this needs to be cleaned and a clear description of how to clean it properly to prevent this sort of unnecessary headache in the future.

The drawer guides on the large clear drawer at the top of the whirlpool refrigerator are very flimsy causing the drawer to drop when pulled out to the stop. When I called about this I was told it was cosmetic and not covered under warranty. I purchased the extended warranty which will replace the flimsy parts with the same flimsy parts. On 6/24/2024 Denisia sent me new side rails, exactly the type I have. I replaced them but the right side one broke. I regret ever owning one and will not recommend a whirlpool product to anyone. It is very obvious to anyone, after using this product, that that particular part is not safe and is definitely more than a cosmetic problem. I have already dumped the contents on the floor once and have just managed to catch it more times than I care to count. I spoke with Danielle on 5/14/2014. We bought a Whirlpool freezer-bottom 18.5 cu ft. fridge from Lowes. The compressor broke in less than three months of regular use. I called Whirlpool who sent A&E to check it out. The technician didnt even file a report and lied to me about what was wrong with the fridge. They sent a different company to come look at it and they confirmed that the compressor is broken. I called Whirlpool customer service and was told that the warranty only covers repairs not replacement even though I paid over $1,000 for a defective product. The excuse: Its a man-made product so we cant guarantee it! So what used to be a 3-5 year warranty not too long ago is now what? A one-year warranty is virtually useless. I can see a future not too far off where there is no warranty at all. Where is the protection for the buyer? If I wanted to purchase a second-hand fridge, I would have. I work on Whirlpool refrigerators for a living every single day of my agonizing, miserable, lousy life. Ive never seen such a mass of dysfunctional, defective rejects as I have with the new Whirlpool side-by-side refrigerators. The ice maker never works because the water line always freezes in the door. The food in your refrigerator side will either spoil or freeze because the damper door will stick open or freeze shut. The water filter housing will start leaking before you change the filter for the first time because of the inferior quality of the plastic its made from. And of course my all time favorite the compressor will always go out under the first 5 years (Thats why Whirlpool changed the warranty from 5 years to 1 on the sealed system). Ive never been a big extended warranty believer. But, like old saying goes, They just dont make them like they use to. Definitely applies to Whirlpool refrigerators.

WORST EXPERIENCE USING WHIRLPOOL REFRIGERATOR. I purchased a Whirlpool Refrigerator in July 2013 (Model - Whirlpool Ref New 495 CLUB IMPERIA). Suddenly it stopped working on May 12 and I registered a compliant to the customer care. Engineer came in same and I was surprised by the service, he checked and said he rectified the problem and he left. But the problem was still there and it was never rectified. I launched the complaint again on May 13 and engineer came again and said there is gas problem in Compressor and he left by saying that another engineer will come to refill the gas in compressor. Next day new engineer came in he checked everything and said this compressor is not working and needs to be replaced. I said go ahead and replace it, he said it will take 1-2 days. I said “ok lets do it.” But now theyre saying that they do not have the compressor in stock and they will change the appliance. Again as I do not have another option I said “ok lets do it.”Now the drama start: they are saying I need to pay 20% as a depreciation of the total cost of the refrigerator + INR 1000/- (Cartage) + difference of the new refrigerator which comes to around INR 21,000/-. Well can someone tell me why I need to pay this huge amount when my appliance is still in 10 years of warranty and its just compressor problem and rest of the product is just fine. After fighting with them come to a conclusion that I need pay INR 10,200/- and I will get the new appliance. Now when I already paid the DEMAND DRAFT (DD) of this amount now no one is responding to me on when I will be getting a delivery of the new Refrigerator. Only God knows when I will be getting this. In this HOT summer we are facing a lot of issues just because of their bad service. No one from Customer Care is giving me any response nor are they taking my calls now.Now can someone tell me what I should do? I am left with no option and thinking of taking a legal action against them and thinking of launching a complaint in Consumer Court against them. Called Whirlpool customer care for help with identifying make and model number of a slide-in, ceramic cook-top range (one of their popular brands). The representative was cordial, patient and very helpful when it came to giving me directions on how to locate make/model information on the unit. That was until I let her know about a recent problem with the stove. The edge of the cooktop is much too sharp! My hand got cut while wiping down the stove top/adjacent counter. Although Ive had the stove for a while, Id never had that happen before; thats probably because I used a thin rag this time around to do the cleaning. I asked the rep if anyone else had reported getting cut by the stove top. She said, No. I let her know that my goal was to just them know about the situation, because such a sharp edge on a cooktop is a safety issue. She disagreed. But what could or should she have said? In all fairness, it came down to balancing loyalty to the company with genuine care for the customer.I do appreciate how kind she was in communicating with me, but am very displeased that once Id shared about the problem she seemed rather dismissive of the situation. How could the risk of being cut NOT be a product safety issue??? If you visit the Consumer Products Safety Commission website, you can see where risk of laceration is a reason some products are recalled. Based on that understanding, I would say that sharp edges on a ceramic cooktop IS a safety issue!

Thats nearly half of what it cost new. Like other complaints Ive read, cheaper washers have lasted years longer than the Whirlpool. Our last washer, a Kenmore, lasted 15 years.

My $700 Whirlpool Cabrio washing machine just broke after only 16 months of having it. The error code that comes up is f 51. With some research, I found that these machines are notorious for breaking down just after warranty with an f 1 code for older machines and an f 51 code for newer machines. Whirlpool is well aware of the breakdowns and the defect inherent in these machines and still sells them with no warning or no recall to fix the problem. I contacted the company and they refused to fix it for free and I understand the fix will now cost me another $300 to $400! What a scam! I will never buy Whirlpool or any of their other products again!

Purchased a self-cleaning Whirlpool oven - model number RBS245PRS06 at Home Depot. Spent extra for the self-cleaning feature. The oven had slight use and used maybe once a week. Cooked a big Thanksgiving meal and decided it was time to use the self-clean feature for the first time. One hour into the process the oven shuts off, no longer has power, and the oven door is locked and will not open. Called Whirlpool (talked to 2 levels of customer service), they wanted me to buy a $200+ warranty for another year of coverage!Researched online and talked to the parts people and this is a KNOWN defect. It happens frequently when using the self-clean feature. It requires replacing the Thermal Overload Safety Thermostat which costs $45 with shipping for the part. The service call is over $100 PLUS labor which can run even more. There are YouTube videos that show how to replace this fuse. The parts lady recommended NOT using the self-cleaning for this oven. Buyer beware. If you are in the market for a new oven do not consider this Whirlpool model. THIS PRODUCT IS DEFECTIVE AND WHIRLPOOL WILL NOT STAND BEHIND IT ONCE YOUR 12 MONTHS IS UP.

The cabrio washer that we purchased in 2010 did a good job of cleaning the clothes but the case started rusting within 6 months. After service calls and e-mails and phone calls, there have been no helpful suggestions beyond buy a complete new case. I hesitate to do that because I am convinced there is a design flaw in the area where the soap dispenser is located which allows the soap to flow between the case and the drum and it eats away theinside of the case through the inadequate paint covering on the outside of the case. It is a mess. Now the instruction panel is bubbling and lifting. I carefully care for my equipment and have kept two washers over 15 years and they still were in good shape with cases still looking new. This is not something I am doing wrong. It is a piece of junk with a terrible paint job and it cost more than any washer I have ever had. I wish I had some recourse. I am on a fixed income and had hoped this would be the last washer I would have to buy. I have photos.

First of all, Whirlpool is fully aware of the problems with water heaters and intentionally places requirements on the consumer until they give up. This info from a distributor. I bought 30 gal. gas water heater 7 months ago. Six days ago the pilot light went out. Went to Lowes (purchased there) and bought a replacement. Wrong one. Returned to store and was told they dont stock repair parts, call factory. Monday called warranty number. They offers to send thermopile, it would arrive in 5 days. I paid $30 for overnight. Plumber installed new part. Still doesnt work. Whirlpool says have the plumber call them theyll walk him through troubleshooting. I ask, Whos paying the plumber? They reply, You are. Plumber calls Whirlpool. They tell him to clean the screen. He does. They tell him to disassemble the burner. I stop plumber. I ask Whirlpool, What if its not the burner? They reply, Then well troubleshoot something else. Meanwhile Im 5 days without hot water. I go to Lowes where heater was purchased. The manager thought it funny Im another victim. I ask, Why doesnt Lowes stock heater parts? He says because Whirlpool doesnt let them carry parts. Im beat. I surrender. Parts from Whirlpool would take another 5 days and theres no assurance itll work. Lowes refuses to assist.I go to Sutherlands and buy a $450 Rheem on recommendation from plumber. Manager from Sutherlands hears my sad story and writes on receipt: Any warranty failure and Sutherlands will replace water heater free. He signs his name on receipt. I pay plumber to swap out heaters. Anybody want a 7 month old Whirlpool water heater. Like new. Cheap! By the way... I originally went to a major appliance parts store asking for a thermocouple for a Whirlpool. The three guys at the counter started laughing Hey we got another one looking for Whirlpool parts. They didnt have them either. Lesson learned.

I bought a new house in Hattiesburg with a Whirlpool dishwasher that is loud. It runs normally but when you open it the dishes are just as dirty as when you put them in if not worse since it will spray any residue from the bottom to the top shelf. I have taken it out and inspected all lines and such but can find nothing wrong to the naked eye. Thus I’ve got dirty dishes that must soak since the drying cycle retakes grime back on and then be rewashed.

We purchased a stackable electric washer/dryer unit and received in October. Had issues from the start. Called Whirlpool in Dec 2018 and they sent out their contracted service company. Told us they were ordering parts. Never heard from anyone. Called service contractor and they said never received parts. Called January. WP told us that because it was a new model, they didnt have the parts. We asked them to replace the unit. WP called us and said they would replace the unit and it would arrive in late January. NO CALL. Called 2/22 and said, no similar units available. Ask them to upgrade me if there were units available. Said they would and the inventory of the upgraded unit was promising. Would get a call from delivery company for a 3/6 delivery and install. 3/2: Called because hadnt heard from anyone and called WP. Today Katrina ID # ** tells me they are making the new upgraded unit with an anticipated delivery of MID MARCH. I just about flipped my lid. I asked for a supervisor of which she said she was a SR support specialist. I asked that this be escalated and I get a call regarding status. She advised that she would inquire and call me back. Likely shouldnt hold my breath or try to call back because you are on hold for up to 1-2 hours. Just to clarify, have never had an issue with Whirlpool. Every appliance we have in our home is Whirlpool. I just cant believe this experience. I am going to the media on my next stop.

We have the same complaints about the washer as other reviewers -- have to use deep water wash to get enough water in the tub to clean and rinse soap from clothes and we have to keep the loads small. Dryer thermostat had to be replaced right off the bat. Now on medium heat it just burned patterns into two light-weight polyester fleece items -- the clothes came out with the heat input screen pattern burned into them. Now I wonder if they stuck to the heating screen for any length of time, was it a fire hazard? The burned parts of the items are now stuck to the drum so that needs cleaning. So well be using low heat on most everything and drying them twice, since low heat leaves them pretty wet after 35 minutes. So much for buying energy saving appliances which, by the way, we were proud to buy! But, prior to buying these appliances, we had washer and dryers that last 20 years. Built in obsolescence with these new things? I have no faith in the consumer complaint process anymore. The retailer may care as they are a bit closer to the problem, but the manufacturer? Forget it. Vote with your wallet and dont buy these products.

I bought an adapter that I added to the kitchen pipe, drilled a few holes in my cabinets to route the hose and voila! It is small but big enough so it's perfect for me. I didn't realize it had an internal heater so I was moving the hose between hot & cold under the sink but now that I know. I will try the heater. The settings are complicated so you have to read the instructions fully. Before I read them I thought every load took 2-3 hours but they don't. I do like to use the heavy soil setting and that does take a couple hours, but if I'm in a hurry or the load is not that bad I use a shorter 50 min setting. For the drain hose I either put it out the window or put a screen in the sink & tie it to the faucet. You have to tie it down wherever you aim it because the water comes out with enough force to throw the hose. I had a couple incidents of kitchen flood before this stuck in my head, now that sucker is secured well. I intend to make a permanent drain to the pipe eventually but for now I just use window/ sink. This required a longer drain hose. For apartment use, I am very happy.

During that time I used it maybe four or five times as there are only two of us and didnt need to use it. Since they arrived in early June, the dishwasher malfunctioned almost immediately. Talking with their representative was useless and frustrating. The only words she seemed to know were circuit breaker. That is where the conversation started and ended despite my assurances that it had nothing to do with a circuit breaker. We wrangled round and round to no avail. We just remodeled our kitchen and bought a Whirlpool kitchen suite in May of 2016. The refrigerator is absolutely terrible. I have had a repairman come out and fix the same repair/problem 5 times, a sheet of ice forms beneath the vegetable drawer (We have only owned the refrigerator for 5 months). Each time the repair person has come out it costs me a day of work due to having to wait all day for the repair service that Whirlpool hires out, well be there between 9am and 4pm. This morning I decided to check to see if the sheet of ice is forming again, it is. So I call Whirlpool again.Again, I call Whirlpool and ask if I can just get a new unit; 5 repairs in 5 months on a brand new refrigerator. The reply I get from Whirlpool is always well send someone out to fix it. The unit has to be deemed irreparable or a part has to be replaced multiple times. No parts are being replaced... no one knows how to fix it. I dont understand why a large company like Whirlpool would want people to write bad reviews for their products and customer service. Im extremely irritated with how I have been treated. I just want a refrigerator that works!! DO NOT BUY A WHIRLPOOL REFRIGERATOR!!

Please do yourself a favor and stay away from both Whirlpool and this unit. I purchased it from a local dealership and paid $881.00 which included tax and delivery cost. In less than 2 years, it broke. Whirlpool does not offer a warranty on the unit. After having a Whirlpool repair person come out for a cost of $75.00, I was informed that the parts to replace would cost $800.00 not counting additional labor cost which was TBD. I contacted Whirlpool and went from Agent (Phylicia) to supervisor (Ashley) to Manager (Carol **). The best offer I was given was to buy the parts at a discount of $400.00 which did not include tax, delivery or labor. So it would have run approx. $550.00 to over $600.00 to fix a $771.00 washer. My next letter is to Jeff Fettig (553 Benson Rd, Benton Harbor, MI 49022/ CIO of Whirlpool) to let him know how impressed I am with his product and customer service support. The next Whirlpool item I buy will be never. Take this as a word of warning to go Maytag or any other vendor because Whirlpool will not support you once the sale has been completed. Good Luck.

I purchased this water heater (Model# E2F40RD045V, Serial# 1122T461615, Product# 0826354) 1 week ago (Oct. 17, 20011) and it has been installed only after 5 days (Oct 25, 2011). It has yet to heat the water more than warm. I called Lowes (Oct. 21, 2011) and tried to return it only to be told that I would have to get an authorization number from Whirlpool. I called and Whirlpool wanted me to trouble shoot the problem. I had to have an OHM meter and amp meter to do so, which means that I needed to have an electrician present to do these test because I dont own any of these things. I was then told that they could send someone to my house, but I may end up paying for this. I then asked to speak to a supervisor and was told that she would tell me the same thing. The call ended when I told them that I guess I would have to do the best I could because I was not getting any help from them. Out of desperation, I went back to Lowes and got a new heating element to try to fix this problem myself. I installed it and it still did not work. I called back the next day and still did not get any help, I was only told that I needed to have these meters on hand to trouble shoot the problem. Why is it that I have to do this? The lady did not seem to care that I did not have any way to handle this problem. I felt that this problem was my burden and not Whirlpools for putting out a defective product. I have in my home about 5 new Whirlpool major appliances and have been a loyal customer for many years but after this incident, never again. I will also be advising my friends how Whirlpool has treated me. I am very disappointed with your customer service or should I say lack of customer service. I was told that had I said that the water heater was leaking, I would have been given an authorization number immediately! I still do not have any hot water as I sit here typing this complaint. I am sure that Whirlpool is really concerned as you have my phone number and address and your representatives are aware that I am very upset but still no one has even tried to help me other than telling me that I have to trouble shoot the problem. We paid extra for a 10 year warranty on purchase from Airport Appliances. On delivery I commented that the plastic material used throughout the fridge was of very flimsy material and wobbly. In the first week the crisper drawer joint cracked to our amazement and they had to send another one from Whirlpool. In the 14th month after the Whirlpool warranty had expired, we found the pantry drawer lid/cover shattered by the door which shut on it because of no reasonable leeway provided in its design. On calling the special warranty people they said they only covered the compressor and parts and nothing else. Called Whirlpool who quoted $85.00 for the lid, plus S&H and taxes. Now we have an eyesore every time we open the fridge when we see the taped up cracked three foot pantry drawer lid. We badly regret giving away a 25 year old perfectly working Whirlpool Workhorse Fridge and buy this newer model which we will have to live with for a quarter of a century. I am 75 years old now. Whirlpool Corp. stands behind its products. Bought the Cabrio Washer in June 2011. Lid cracked in October 2012 and was not covered under the Lowes extended warranty because they called it a wear item. However, our local Lowes store in Avondale, PA replaced it for us. In December 2013, the lid cracked again. I called Whirlpool customer service and they couldnt do anything. I called the Whirlpool corporate headquarters and was directed to a member of their executive staff. After explaining my situation, Whirlpool agreed to send me a new door free of charge and even pay to have it installed (which I told them I can do myself). Aside from the cracking of two doors, this washer is an exceptional unit. Its good to see Whirlpool stands behind its products this way, outside of the warranty period. I would guess that they always hear a lot of whining and complaining, but it seems if you explain things logically, people listen and are willing to help.

I purchased a 50-gallon Whirlpool natural gas water heater (12 year warranty) from Lowes approx 2.5 years ago. Just before Thanksgiving, the pilot light started going out once a day, then twice a day. Now, I can light the pilot light in Pilot mode but as soon as I release the red button, the flame goes out. I called Whirlpool and received phone troubleshooting support resulting in a recommendation to pick up a new thermocoupler from Lowes which I did. While searching for someone to install (unfortunately Im not that handy), I ran into the thousands of complaints filed about the very same problem Im having over a number of years and right up to todays date. I called Whirlpool back and got the same song and dance. Theyd be happy to help me troubleshoot if I can get the required meters etc. to test devices, do draft tests, etc. They claimed the problems were fixed with the newer model that I have but certainly cant explain why I have exactly the same issue. What they are not willing to do is stand behind their product and get me hot water. Tried calling Lowes and got the response that I have to deal with Whirlpool. It appears that this newer BFG model is just as flawed as the older model and the warranty is pretty much worthless other than getting a few parts. I used to think that Whirlpool products were reasonably good, however, I will never purchase another.
