I had my kitchen remodeled and purchased a Whirlpool built in electric microwave and lower oven combo (Models WOC54E and WOC95E). I selected this product because it had the right dimensions for my kitchen and I thought Whirlpool was a quality brand. Well I was completely incorrect about the latter point. Within just a few months, I noticed a drip line in the microwave door, between the outer and inner panel that could not be accessed to clean. I barely used the appliance and had no explosions in the unit that would account for this unsightly stain. When I called Whirlpool, they told me that cleaning and resealing the microwave door was not covered by warranty, and if I fixed the problem, then I would invalidate the warranty on the appliance. I had no choice but to live with this drip line, which has now been joined by others. I can think only that this is caused by condensation and that the door is permeable to moisture. Then there is the oven: When it is in use and for at least 30 min after, the fan on the unit is deafening. Not just a little noisy, but really loud. This is my first experience with Whirlpool and its products, and I would NEVER purchase others. They are not inexpensive and are clearly of substandard quality. The fact that Whirlpool is prepared to put a defective product on the market and then not be prepared to fix problems with the unit is appalling. DO NOT BUY WHIRLPOOL.

I purchased the extended warranty for my refrigerator and the warranty company sent a technician out to repair my refrigerator. It has been six weeks and 4 attempts and no one can do anything to fix it. The warranty wont refund my money without deductions from the company coming out and fixing nothing and says itll take 2 weeks before I can get that. After mailing in writing that I want to cancel 500 dollars wasted and no one wants to help. Thanks Whirlpool. Ill definitely let all my family and friends know of my experience.

I purchased a Whirlpool Water Heater Model # ND50T122-403 on March 4, 2011
I purchased a Whirlpool Water Heater Model # ND50T122-403 on March 4, 2011 from Lowes. I had it installed by Lowes and it included a 12 YEAR Manufacturers (WHIRLPOOL) WARRANTY, plus I purchased an additional 11 YEAR EPP (Extended Protection Plan) WARRANTY. About 3 weeks ago I had no hot water so I went down to my basement to check the water heater and it displayed 7 single blinks followed by a 3 second pause, which is a flammable vapor sensor lock-out code. I made sure there was no flammable vapor in the area, turned off the gas and pulled out the plug then called Lowes since I have an active warranty with them. They said I had to wait 3 business days for them to call back to set-up an appointment to have it repaired. I waited 3 business days including the weekend and no one called me back by the end of the 3 business days, so I called Lowes back and they set-up an appointment for a video store owner with a plumbing license to come over and try to fix it. Finally I thought I would have hot water after over 2 weeks without it, but the plumber started taking it apart and about an hour later said he needed to order a part and he would be back another day when he gets the part. He came back 2 days later to install the part and fix it, but he could not fix it. He called Whirlpool to report the issue and Whirlpool told him they would not honor the warranty because my basement was not safe. He then told me he would call Lowes to let them know about Whirlpools position and call me back. So when he called me back he said Lowes said the current warranty was under Whirlpool and their warranty was only effective after the initial 12 year manufacturers warranty was up, so they would not help any further. So after only 4 1/2 years with a 12 year manufacturers warranty and an additional 11 year extended protection warranty that I purchased from Lowes, Whirlpool will not honor the warranty that came with this water heater. I am going to take this to small claims court. Whirlpool and Lowes have terrible customer service policies. I will NEVER purchase another Whirlpool product and I will NEVER again shop at Lowes. Please do NOT EVER buy a Whirlpool water heater! TAKE YOUR CLAIM TO SMALL CLAIMS COURT FOR SATISFACTION! Maybe an attorney will put in another class action suit against Whirlpool and/or Lowes.

I have had this Cabrio washer and dryer for two years now and I would do better washing my things by hand. Save water, sure there is none!! I have a glass lid and I actually stood there and watched a cycle and the clothes on top never even got wet!! My whites are now gray!! Called the company to get nowhere. I am going to buy an old-fashioned washer that actually uses water. I tried to be eco-friendly but I dont like dirty clothes!!

Just bought what I thought was going to be a great dishwasher. It had all the features I wanted. But, I discovered that none of my silverware would fit in the slots provided in the silverware basket. It is a disaster. The slots are so tiny that most of them are unusable. I called Whirlpool thinking that surely there was another basket I could substitute, but no, there isnt. Everyone was very polite, but the end result is that the Ill be handwashing most of our silverware. Unless your silverware has very narrow handles, forget this machine. Obviously designed by someone who has never loaded a dishwasher!

Whirlpool stove, product ID WFG540HOES. I purchased a whirlpool gas stove in 2014 for a lake house. Came to my lake house to find the temperature was 90 degrees inside and the oven was running full blast. The oven had turned itself on. Whirlpool appears to be having a problem with this type of issue. Called their customer care department and was transferred to the appliance safety line which was only a line to leave a voicemail. Very bad customer service. My kitchen countertops and kitchen floor will need to be replaced, also cannot get rid of the burnt smell in my house. Do not recommend purchasing Whirlpool appliances.

I bought a Whirlpool washer WTW4800XQ top loader. I have owned it for about two years and now it has tore up, the repair bill will cost almost what I paid for the washer. I feel it is bad business to sale something and it not last any longer than it has. No one should have to buy a washer every two years!!!! When it gets to the spin cycle it works fine and then all of a sudden it will beat and bang and if you dont get it stopped it will be in the middle of the floor. Im very upset and put out with Whirlpool!!!!

My experience was terrible. We purchased a side by side refrigerator on June 27, 2011 and it stopped working in December, 2011. We reported this onDecember 19, 2011. A repairman was sent out a few days later, who could not solve the problem because a piece had to be ordered. The piece was ordered and the repairman came to install the part on December 28, 2011.The refrigerator is still not working at all. We have been without ice for this period of time, not to mention the inconvenience of non-refrigeration of food. I pleaded for them to pick up the refrigerator and give me even a partial refund. I was told that three repairs had to be done before they would even consider picking up the refrigerator. I am not a person who complains, but this was ridiculous. I will never purchase another Whirlpool product.

The washer started to show error code for the door and washer would not restart. After removing the top of the washer and checking the door switch to see if there was a loose wire, I traced the wire back to the micro control unit, and upon inspection of the micro control unit, I found that the terminal that the door switch wire was attached to was loose and not making contact with circuit board.Although the washer is out of warranty being 7 years old, this is clearly not a part that is subject to wear and tear. The part was clearly manufactured poorly. I looked on the internet to purchase a new part but it seems that all micro control units are out of stock. This makes me wonder if one should start a class action suit as my part could be one of hundreds that was poorly manufactured. I called Whirlpool to see if they would send me another part to replace the bad unit but they said that because the washer was out of warranty, they could not help.

I chose based on the current ratings of the machines. They look nice and they can handle large loads. I think EPA has changed wash machines to be back into the 1920s. I put my clothes in and there is no agitator in the center. My clothes come out twisted tightly into little round circles or balls, not much water but now it takes over an hour to wash my clothes. So we are conserving water but using more power, I also have to iron sheets and clothes because they are so twisted and wrinkled. I used to stick my clothes into the washer, select a cycle and go on my way and now I have to answer 5 other selection options, if I dont hold the button in long enough it just turns off.Have we all lost our minds, I think this is going backwards not forwards. I have talked to other women and they agree with me, we HATE these new washer and dryers. The dryer is a little better but not much. Also the tops are concave so your laundry basket falls off, and you cant put your soap on the dryer which is where I am used to having it. Now I have to clean my washer every 30 cycles, iron and it takes all day to do the laundry, yes and they call this progress, really!!! I purchased the Whirlpool Cabrio W10607 425A- SP and dryers Whirlpool W10680129C-SP, these are full size and have the steam options on them and are side by sides.

We own a Whirlpool microwave hood combination. The door started cracking where the handle attaches. Ordered a new door and installed in July 2017. 18 months in the door and the handle have both started to crack again. This seems to be a problem with Whirlpool microwaves but they wont stand behind their product. Theyll send someone out to replace it for $$$$ but they wont admit they have a flawed product. One year warranty - no exceptions. Will have to replace the microwave and it wont be Whirlpool!

We paid extra for a 10 year warranty on purchase from Airport Appliances. On delivery I commented that the plastic material used throughout the fridge was of very flimsy material and wobbly. In the first week the crisper drawer joint cracked to our amazement and they had to send another one from Whirlpool. In the 14th month after the Whirlpool warranty had expired, we found the pantry drawer lid/cover shattered by the door which shut on it because of no reasonable leeway provided in its design. On calling the special warranty people they said they only covered the compressor and parts and nothing else. Called Whirlpool who quoted $85.00 for the lid, plus S&H and taxes. Now we have an eyesore every time we open the fridge when we see the taped up cracked three foot pantry drawer lid. We badly regret giving away a 25 year old perfectly working Whirlpool Workhorse Fridge and buy this newer model which we will have to live with for a quarter of a century. I am 75 years old now. Never a Whirlpool again!

Sad that I have to file this review! After reading multiple other reviews on all brands available to American citizens, I have come to the realization that cheap labor and materials are creating massive appliance garbage in our country as well as financial rip off for us all. It needs to STOP! What has happened to doing things right!! What company is going to be the first to produce good refrigerators! Paid over $2000 for my side by side and it is only 5 years old and has a freon leak that cant be fixed. Repairman said will have to buy a new refrigerator. Pathetic!! Cheap manufacturing in foreign countries is killing our economy and our household finances. Be prepared to buy NOTHING that works! Yeah, thats what I work hard for and look forward to. Americans better wake up.

I bought a Whirlpool washing machine, model WTW4855HW, and was I ever shocked at how noisy it was. The wash cycle had a grinding noise that was just too much. After 2 loads I sent it back and didnt regret having to pay the restocking fee. I just couldnt believe that with all the technology we have today, that they couldnt build a quiet machine. Im an engineer so I know there are methods through gearing, belts, soundproofing, etc, to produce a quiet machine. Remember the dishwasher of days gone by. You couldnt watch TV with the dishwasher going. Nowadays, you can stand in the kitchen and have a nice conversation with it running. The technology exists. As a matter of a fact, my old Maytag that finally went bad after 10 years was fairly quiet. So, if you dont have your washing machine in the garage or basement room where you can close the door, dont buy this machine! Bruce in Portland

I apparently am one of the lucky ones to have an electric water heater. My unit started giving me failure codes during the Christmas holidays. Each time it would fail, I would get a different failure code indicating the upper element, the lower element, and a sensor failure. After testing all 3 of these components, it was determined to be a controller issue. After speaking with Chris on the phone, he overnighted a new controller to me. I installed the new controller and had no more failures. Hot showers for New Years! Thank you Chris.

I received this Email from the Whirlpool Director of Consumer Care to evaluate my experience with their customer service department. I filled out the survey over a week ago including a complete documentation of my problems and have not even received an acknowledgment of the survey or promise to look into my problems. In the last 7 months I have experienced problems with 2 Whirlpool major appliances which both appear to be unrepairable and which have been unsuccessfully brought to the attention of your customer support group. In March a fridge and in October a clothes washer. Both were high end products roughly 3 to 4 years old. I did not have an extended warranty with the fridge so I dealt directly with the customer support group. However I was covered by warranty with the washer and your distributor Bad Boy have been making the calls on my behalf but have been just as disappointed to date as I was. Both cases were very similar. In both cases the repairman came out within a few days and promised to return the following week with the broken part but I have never heard from either one of them EVER. In the case of the fridge I was told to defrost it the day before the promised repair date and lost all the food $$$. At this stage a number of calls went out from me to Whirlpool for the fridge and from Bad Boy for the washer and eventually we both got a new delivery date of roughly one month. Both times the date passed with no shows and no call backs. Repeated calls later to the customer service group, with promises of EXPEDITING the delivery, the fridge part delivery date was extended to 3 months so we had no choice but to buy a new fridge. As for the washer, Bad Boy even had an unsuccessful face to face meeting with your representatives and we have had no word back or expected delivery dates well into the third month.I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT TO DO? I have made so many calls with so few call backs and no clue what to expect or when? Your representatives use the word expedite with no idea what the word means. At the suggestion of one of your representatives I even called one of your distributors Sears to see if they had the part. Their Canadian head office is in the Philippines and they said they had the same problem with Whirlpool. Twice I tried to talk with your representatives supervisor and both times were unsuccessful. In a world of computers where it should take seconds to find inventory parts and expediting packages usually refers to next day delivery, the fact Whirlpool requires months is unbelievable. The only explanations I can come up with is 1- You dont make parts for your appliances. 2- New appliances are made so poorly all parts are gone. 3- You could not care less about your customers. 4- You dont own a computer. Most of our appliances are Whirlpool because we thought you had a good reputation. We had to purchase a new fridge and still have had no word on the washer?

The Whirlpool Quiet Partner II is a horrible dishwasher and should have never made it to a store to be sold. We purchased the washer on April 25, 2015. It has been an absolute nightmar
We purchased the washer on April 25, 2015. It has been an absolute nightmare. Reached out to Sears within a week of delivery because the wash cycle was way over an hour. Is a terrible machine, my clothes come out dirty, is damaging my clothes and Sears says I cannot return it because according to them I havent had it fixed enough times. It washes for over an hour at times. It takes water and releases water and goes to wash again but is not cleaning the clothes. As a homeowner we pay water, and electricity and perhaps I wouldnt be so upset if my clothes would come out clean. At first the tech told me to change from the HE detergent purchased and recommended at Sears to liquid detergent and then since I still get stains on our clothes he advised me to use less than the recommended amount. I also purchased the kit to wash the machine. This is a real lemon and nobody wants to admit it. I have purchased Whirpool washer before but if they dont admit that this is poorly made and give me a voucher to buy another machine I will never ever in my life buy Whirlpool or Sears for that matter. The machine is just a year old and I cannot use it because it damages my clothes and worst, is not cleaning my clothes. It disgust me to wear dirty clothes or to have my family wear them. So now I have another appointment and at this point I no longer use the machine. I will tell everyone that is willing to hear my experience. Do not purchase this washer, is not good and is only trouble. You are not going to be able to get it exchanged or fixed. I think that a full year would have been enough time for Sears to determine this is a lemon and do the right thing by the customer. I now go to the laundromat because I have a machine that damages my clothes. I am also out of money to purchase a new one and the wearing dirty clothes disgust me.

I purchased their washer, dryer, refrigerator, freezer, oven, and dishwasher. All were brand new when my home was built in 2006. Whirpool is the absolute worst home appliance company in both customer service and product. I would save my money and purchase any product other than a Whirlpool or Maytag. All of my appliances are a little over 5 years old and all have had multiple problems. Corporate takes the attitude of oh well, pay for the multiple repairs or buy new after 5 years or less. Ive never heard of disposable appliances, but Whirlpool has a full line of them! I would rate them less than 1 and just plain **!

40-gal gas water heater - I own several rental properties and unfortunately put Whirlpool water heaters in them when the old ones go. It is because they are at Lowes and they are cheap. Today, another call came in from a tenant with no hot water. I called customer service and they determined I received the repair kit from an original design defect from back in the middle 2000s. Now 3 years later, it goes out again. Because I have already received the conversion kit taking thermal couple threading from LH to RH, I needed another part number to repair for a grand total of $160! The same part before the conversion kit was $60. I will never buy another Lowes/Whirlpool water heater for as long as I live. I own a hundred rentals and Whirlpool will never again see another cent for the junk water heaters.

I purchased both the Cabrio washer and dryer because my dryer stopped working, it was old, and I knew that soon the washer would too, and wanted to modernize my set -- it was my moms old set. I was thrilled to get it delivered and should have had the delivery man from Lowes take it right back, when he told me they had just come from picking up one from another lady who was thoroughly dissatisfied with hers.Well, it didnt take too many washings for me to understand why that lady was upset! I really wish I had done the same thing! EVERY load of dark clothes have to be wiped off to get off the disgusting wet lint thats all over the clothes! Thats been going on since DAY 1! In every load, the clothes do not get completely wet and I thought I had combated that issue by having a pitcher of water always available to pour onto the load, so the sensor will add more water... That doesnt work, I now see!!! I just noticed last night lots of wet lint was on my fabric shower curtain liner, and I was thoroughly upset! I just never feel as though anything I wash gets clean. I truly wish I had come across this site BEFORE I purchased my set, and I would never have done so. Is there ANYTHING that can be done for people who have purchased these horrible appliances?

NU40T61-403 have had problems since day one. First problem was while heating up would make loud humming noise. Whirlpool sent out plumber. He adjusted plate under tank. That worked for about 2 months. Then pilot started going out. They send same plumber out again, also sent replacement part. Problem was fixed however about 2 months after that started leaking and flooding our garage. Called company again, was told that is no longer under warranty and stated we need a thermal expansion tank. I stated “why would we need this? This unit is only a little over a year old. Im not going to purchase another tank. A water heater should not overheat like this.” Long story short my husband has been burnt severely from the pressure build up as he was out in our garage walking past the tank when it decided to release pressure even though no water was being used at that time. He ended up at the ER with 2nd-3rd degree burns. I called Whirlpool again and was only told we need to install the expansion tank. Im so unhappy with this product I will never buy anything made by whirlpool again.....

I purchased a Whirlpool Refrigerator with French Doors, Model No. GX5SHDXVD03. Within 1 year and 4 months, I had to replace the defrost control board. I spoke to Whirlpools customer service, George ** said he was sorry for my inconvenience but that he refuses to help in any way because I missed the warranty period by 4 months. I spent $352.74 for the parts and labor and lost hundreds more in food. Do not purchase any Whirlpool products. I was told that the boards have been going out frequently.

This refrigerator is less than 1 yr. Old and this repair will be the FOURTH. The severe lack of craftsmanship and customer service is shocking! Most states do not have lemon laws for appliances, however something needs to be done to compensate me for THE TIME and inconvenience this caused my family. I needed to purchase a second compact refrigerator because I knew that it would break down again!

Whirlpool Duet 3.9 cu ft High-Efficiency WFW9451XW00 - Hear my first experience with Whirlpool. I purchased a washer machine 30 April 2014. Guess what - machine stop working suddenly on July 30th, just about three months later. I had a lot of guest from overseas. While they visit me, I did not have my washer machine. How embarrassing. It was big mistake to buy Whirlpool. It is all made plastic inside and they uses cheap Chinese material. Anyway, technician came house to check what the problem was... all control system was burned. He ordered almost 10 parts from Whirlpool on 04 August. Whirlpool scheduled delivery for 20 of August. I called them for them to send the parts faster so my guests could wash their clothes. They send them little faster for August 16. After a day, technician was in the house again. I waited about 3 hours for him to fix my machine. He was really nice guy. He put install all new parts. Just in front of me, new parts broke after 5 minute. Whirlpool still did not contact me about their decision. Today is August 26th... I called them 5 time already - Nobody give me useful info. NO Whirlpool, guys - bad service.

My new fridge is leaking large amounts of water on the floor, but it is not from the ice maker, as it is not hooked up. I have a Whirlpool refrigerator, model number GB2FHDXWS04, purchased in August of 2010. It was with good faith that I chose what I thought was a high-quality product, as well as, it was chosen because it was made in the USA and would be supporting US families, not China.Within one year, just as soon as the one-year warranty expired it began leaking water daily, all over my wooden kitchen floor, causing the floor boards to begin buckling. It is not from the ice maker, as it is not hooked up. Not only is my floor being ruined, but my one-year old refrigerator is not working up to standards, for which I chose the Whirlpool brand. My refrigerator has been maintained and operated by all instructions provided for this product.I assume that this company no longer wants to be in good standing with its customers, and refuses to make good on a major problem, for which a large amount of money was spent on a high quality serviceable item, by paying for the repair or replacement of obviously defective parts, or by the replacement of the entire refrigerator.

We bought the WDF330PAHB1 Whirlpool Dishwasher from Lowes last year. It is a terrible dishwasher. It does not wash or dry the plastic dishes well and has a continued foul spoiled milk smell despite many cleanings with dishwasher cleaning tablets. I use Cascade and Finish rinse aid. My china and glassware are fine and it is a quiet unit but this gook I have to keep cleaning up is gross. I clean the removable filter and screen 2-3x a week but the stuff gets on and in every place it can cling to. Its a greasy, smelly muck. Its in both water jets, so I have to constantly remove them and bang the stuff out. We pre-rinse our dishes (which Ive never had to do before) but still this slime keeps building up. Do not buy this machine. I wish I could give mine back!

The washer works to it design and hasnt broke down but it doesnt clean our clothes. We load the machine, add the right amount of clothes and recommended detergents and 1hr later after the wash cycle is completed, the clothes still stink with the smell of daily perspiration. I went back to using our old washer that has a worn out agitator. It does a better job.

UL code displayed for six months. Will not spin. Makes a squeaking noise. Recently noticed a black greasy residue around the machine. The bottom of the machine is covered with it. Have had the Cabrio for 5 years. Seems like a bearings issue. Expensive machine. Whirlpool said there are no reported issues with my model even though there are thousands of people on several websites who are having the same issues. My Whirlpool dryer - Model# wgd49stbw, serial# ms2405113 went out on 1-29-16. Which I purchased from Lowes in August of 2015. Called the service company that I have my extended warranty with. They came out on 2-1-16. They did not have the part I needed in stock. It had to be ordered by the manufacturer. Sadly, I am still waiting and have been told it might come in on 3-29-16. Every time I call it gets pushed out another two weeks. This is really ridiculous. All the money I have spend at the laundromat I could have had a different source come out to fix. Which I still may do. I will never purchase another Whirlpool appliance again and certainly will NOT recommend. I am 65 years old and have a hard time dealing with the laundromat. If they get this part in by 3-29-16 it will have taken them two months. So sad.

I ordered a washer dryer combination through Whirlpool. I was given a delivery date 2 weeks out. Whirlpool employees must be doing their laundry very sparingly if they think that this would not put a strain on a household. But I was willing to wait. I asked the date and they wouldnt give it to me. A week later they called with the date and I asked the time. Again they wouldnt give it to me. However they said they would give me the time the night before. They then called with the time, which was during work hours. I told them I would be unable to do this during work hours and they gave me the only other optional date, also during work hours. I finally agreed and took a 1/2 personal day. When I arrived home. I received a phone call from Whirlpool that they will not be delivering my washer/dryer unit at all and to pick a different date. I canceled altogether.UPDATED ON 02/24/2016: I have worked hard to not get upset at companies. However I feel that this is an especially poor company and I cant remain silent anymore. I bought a Duet Washer and dryer over the phone with Whirlpool. It took 3.5 weeks for it to get delivered because Whirlpool kept cancelling. Each time, I took a 1/2 personal day so that I could meet the delivery people within their 4-hour window frame. On the 3rd attempt, they were finally delivered and set up by the delivery men.During the 2nd time I ever used the product, it stopped working, making a horrible grinding noise. I had to unplug the machine. My husband came home and hes pretty handy. However he was unable to even press 1 button. I had a friend in the repair business come the next day and he was unable to repair it. I called Whirlpool again and they said theyd have a repairman out the next day. They outsourced the job to a local company and Whirlpool sent me a confirmation email with a time and date. Again I took a 1/2 personal day. After hearing from no one, I called the repair company. They said they had no record of me in the system. I cried.I called Whirlpool and was put on hold for 3 hours. I hung up and called again. They said my department closed 8 minutes ago and they couldnt take my call. I asked how that could happen considering you began the call 3 hours before that time and would have stayed on hold until I died had I not decided to hang up and try again. Every time previous to this I had been on hold for a minimum of 1 hour.I have been trying to return the product. They tell me that Im unable to because my product is functional. I told them it was in fact not functional, which was about the 3rd time I said this, and they said Ill have to call back 1st thing in the morning. I told them I cant risk any more work time to deal with this poor company. So they put me on hold again and thats where I remain. I am currently going on 27 minutes.

We bought this fridge about 5 years ago, it was the exact same model as one we bought in 2003 but everything had changed, the plastic for the drawers was a fraction of the thickness in the older model and it breaks and cracks with the slightest bump like setting the lettuce in, the frame of the door is full of cracks and the fridge keeps leaking then freezing and making puddles on the floor. The little plastic tabs for the ice dispenser broke. It is absolute garbage. The one we bought in 2003 was great clearly the company has NO integrity or desire to make a decent product. I wont be buying anything Whirlpool EVER again.

In July 2018 I purchased a coin operated commercial front load 27 in washer and dryer. It was placed in and used in a six unit apartment building occupied by 8 long term adults. Prior washers and dryers had been operational for years with minor repairs at times. In June of 2019 the interior cement center balance on the top of the washer drum broke with resulting damage to screws securing the center balance and potentially other unknown parts. This was reported to Whirlpool customer Care service and they referred me to one of their a repair services. The repair service in about early August repaired the washer. In late September 2019 the cement balance broke a second time and this was again reported to Whirlpool service who requested I notify their recommended repair service. On inspecting the washer the repair service stated the entire washer was required to be rebuilt. The labor for installation of would cost me $1,125 with Whirlpool providing the parts under their warranty. The $1,125 labor cost was just under what I paid for a new coin operated front load washer. I reported this to Whirlpool whose supervising staff, without any inspection of damaged washer as to determine whether the washer was fit for its purpose when sold as a commercial washer, rejected any replacement of the less one year old washer and insisted they would only pay for the parts and I would have to pay for the labor, particularly when the both the cost of the replacement parts and the labor would be substantially in excess of a new machine. Due to time and effort constraints the problem was resolved by simply dumping the defective washer and purchasing a new commercial front load washer from a more responsible company.

The Whirlpool Gold Series we purchased, to replace the older refrigerator, has far exceeded our expectations. The French Door setup was exactly what my wife had talked about. The saleslady at Home Depot, where it was the least expensive by $283, was very well informed. We went through the specs, colors, types of finishes, etc and picked the perfect one for my wife's needs and wants. The model performs well fully loaded or almost empty. She told a few family members and they went out and bought the same model, or next model up, as we did. To wrap it all up, "Buy this. It performs as well as, if not better, than all the rest."

When we bought our house the Matching set of Whirlpool Cabrio Platinums came with it as they were new. The clothes just sit and do nothing. They don’t get clean at all. Its a complete pile of useless junk and the person or persons who engineered it shouldn’t even be in charge of designing birdhouses.Whirlpool themselves should be ashamed to put out such a pile of garbage to the consumer. Wife and I bought a WRF990SLAM00 fridge in 5/2013. Seemed like the nicest model Lowes had at the time. The first one delivered had problems: it wouldnt stand level or seal properly, and had to be replaced. Another unit was delivered a few days later. This one - the same model - worked very nicely, for a year and a half. A few days ago, it got loud. My wife noticed in the freezer, some things were beginning to thaw. We called Whirlpool, who said, Oh, its over a year, and youre out of warranty. Sorry! Ok, so they suck. After we had a technician examine the freezer, he suggested, This is something Whirlpool needs to address. It wasnt the first (or fourth) problem with this fridge that hes seen. Called Whirlpool again, this time to gripe. Sorry, youre more than a year, so no warranty BUT, well sell you a service contract for $330! Hows that sound? It sounds like Whirlpool just disqualified themselves from ever getting their hands on another dollar from my family. Theres too many other companies who DONT treat their customers like garbage.

Handle needs smarter design. I purchased model #WRT311FZDM00 in November of 2015, didnt install in my new home till December. I am a single senior female, so there is little wear on the fridge, unlike a family of several people and with kids. The door handle actually broke just behind the screws that hold it in place, the plastic part of it broke into a couple of pieces. The cost to replace this handle is approximately $80, which is ridiculous in my opinion. Please start making things of quality materials instead of cheap plastic, especially at a stress point of a part. Even I know better than that. When I moved into my current home, this dishwasher(Whirlpool Quiet Partner 1) was already installed. It had never been used until I moved in. After two years of 2-3 times a week use, I have major problems. It will not complete a wash cycle, regardless of what settings I use. It runs long enough for the soap dispenser to release the Finish tablets which dissolve, but then the dishwasher stops running. The dishes are not clean, and neither is the interior of the dishwasher. It also appears to be leaking when it runs. I cannot afford to replace it, so either I will repair it myself or use it to store pots and pans. This is not my first disappointment with a Whirlpool product. A Kenmore refrigerator made by Whirlpool lasted 7 years before the compressor failed. Apparently, the self-cleaning coils werent and caused the compressor to fail. The refrigerator I have where I now live is a Whirlpool over 20 years old and runs perfectly. Apparently Whirlpool quality has deteriorated badly in the last two decades. I will never buy another Whirlpool kitchen appliance because of the dishwasher and new refrigerator experiences. When I searched the Internet for fixes for both appliances, I found many other owners having the same problems I have had.

Even though I have it set to see to it, I feel it leaves too much water on the dishes. It doesnt have a rinse and hold setting. This dishwasher doesnt have any extraordinary features. It just has the features you would expect to find on any dishwasher. The size is average but it handles the amount of dishes I have as a one-person household. Its unobtrusive; nothing sticks out, there is no faux metal on it. Those are all features I like. Its not as quiet as it makes itself out to be. I purchased the Whirlpool Cabrio top load washer and dryer a couple of years ago and have disliked the washer from the first wash. I have followed the instructions on how to load the washer which, first of all, takes more time than any other washer I have ever had to load. Second, the clothes come out so wrapped around each other that its almost impossible to separate them. They are wrinkled to the point that the dryer cant even de-wrinkle them, and some have even been damaged. Third, the load doesnt smell fresh even though I have cleaned the washer as instructed. Also, I had to pay for a cracked bottom tray that happened during delivery which I didnt know occurred at the time. Whirlpool is now ignoring my phone calls and emails. We paid in excess of $800 last year. What am I going to do now? Buy another refrigerator and get rid of this one? I dont make that kind of money and I feel Whirlpool should stand behind their products. This model is not even on the recall list so that means to me that other consumers buying this model are getting ripped off also. Manufacturer refuses to acknowledge quality issues. This is not exclusive for the washer or dryer, IT IS BOTH! P.S. I owned & operated a Whirlpool Cabrio washer & dryer for 6+ years before up-sizing & loved them! I was grossly misled by the retailer to believe the new Cabrio washer & dryer were the same as the previous model of Cabrio. They are not. Their performance is subpar. Not what I would expect from top of the line. Washer does not spin out as dry as the previous model. It will not show error codes on display so I can deal with the issue at hand-it just shuts down. Dryer sensors do not work properly. It will not dry, or overdries to the point of shrinking clothing beyond use. This $2800 purchase is continuing to cost me money. I have never been more upset with a purchase than this. I have to babysit these machines. There is a bolt in the back wall of the dryer drum. Hence my destroyed brand new hand crocheted afghan. Oh and did I tell you that their licensed repair man told me that I should not be laundering bedding in my machines at home? Apparently there are no home use machines on the market that are able to wash bedding. Sheets. Pillowcases. All of it needs to go to a commercial laundromat. Ha! Makes a person question who we let in our home. If you would like a positive - its huge. But wont spin out a small load effectively.I have recommended and led to sale of dozens of the previous Cabrio model. I will no longer be standing behind this model or company after the poor customer service. Their answers are scripted. Its like speaking to a robot. No one is accountable anymore. I could understand if I did not know how HE machines worked or even the Cabrio model, but I loved my previous HE CABRIO FOR 6+ years!! Excuse me while I go vomit.

Whirlpool Cabrio washer - Its been a month now and still the washer is not fixed. The repairman through Lowes warranty service is the worst by far I have ever dealt with. I had new transmission put on, still wont agitate and smells hot. The washer is only 18 months old, well taken care of. This expensive hunk of junk is worthless and the aggravation for all this mess is worse. I called Whirlpool 2 times. The first time, I got a call with the standard oh so sorry bit. Oh boy, that gets the washer fixed. Not. I blasted them and Lowes again. I have had it with this mess. The repairman is supposed to contact Lowes a week ago for replacement. He has done zero. I called Lowes to check. How can they sell this junk to customers who pay for this washer? They know it is junk, Lowes and Whirlpool, so do the right thing and recall the junker for refunds to consumers.

I am not pleased with my self-cleaning oven. I dont even use my oven that often and I cannot get off even the simplest of stains on the sides, top, and bottom. I have tried to clean the oven three times and the stains from pie drippings are still not coming clean. It should not be this hard to clean an oven because my last oven was so much better and it was not Aqualift. The top of the oven is also very hard to keep the burners clean and looking like new. I am very disappointed in this oven and believe that this is false advertisement to the consumers. I pride myself in keeping my kitchen looking clean but this just is not working for me!

This is the worst product (Whirlpool Cabrio Washer) I have ever purchased. I paid $999 for it new. I had to have it repaired at the cost of $500 at just two years old. My sister bought and had the exact same repair needed. I used to trust Whirlpool but not anymore. I wont buy Maytag either since it is a Whirlpool product as well.

As soon as we bought our new microwave, I saw what appeared to be hair on the door. I tried to scratch it off but I could not so I wondered if it was a crack but I could not feel it. As time went by, many other lines appeared but I could not feel them, just see them. After a couple of months, I noticed the first crack could be felt and then soon after that I could feel the other cracks. The first crack goes from the glass to the edge of the door and is wide open and the door edge kind of just hangs there. There are now about 20 cracks and the door will most likely fall apart soon. I called Whirlpool and they lied and said there have been no complaints at all about their doors. I read them some of the names here on this site having the same problem and the best they can do is offer to sell me a new door for $180. I told them that their product was defective and need to be recalled or something and he again tried to send me to the parts department to sell me a $180 door. I told him if that is how Whirlpool treats their customers, I would no longer buy anything from them.

I purchased model #GI7FVCXWY01, SERIAL #KY4234335, and it arrived in Jan 2010. It is now going in the trash! Two repair companies came out and both told me the ice maker had issued a recall, but in reality, Whirlpool told me to buy the replacement part for $348.73 to fix their poor design! I called the 1-866-698-2538 customer service and so sorry is all you get! By the way, neither of the repair were willing to install the replacement part, as it takes too long to install and these compressors are never the same after the ice maker has these issues! Both repairmen said to trash the refrigerator. How sad that a $2500 refrigerator only last from Jan 2010 until June 1, 2014!!! I will never buy a Whirlpool anything!

I have been extremely dissatisfied with the Whirlpool Cabrio washing machine!!! I tried to take it back and Lowes would not let me return it because I had had it for 6 months. It doesnt put enough water in the machine to get all of the clothes wet. It doesnt get the clothes clean and it leaves some kind of lint residue all over dark clothes. I am only able to put in 1/4 of the clothes I put in my Maytag washer which I loved, but it wore out. I am also short and it is so deep I have to use a stool to get up on to reach into so i can reach the bottom of the machine. Even though it is a huge tub, I can only put a few pieces of clothes in it to get it to clean the clothes. It is a very poor design and needs to be recalled!

Five years ago I bought a brand spanking new HE set with a top load washer, top of the line Whirlpool. That washer has been a piece of junk and getting it serviced has been a nightmare. It broke, i.e., the computer part, and was out of commission for FOUR MONTHS. I live on an island off of Alaska, luckily I rented one for the duration but STILL. That was an EIGHT HUNDRED DOLLAR MACHINE. I liked that they are new and shiny and look cool. I hate that the electronics broke after a few years. Ive had washers dryers that lasted TWENTY YEARS. The next set I buy will have plain buttons for cycles and NO ELECTRONICS. None. And still none. Electronics instead of plain buttons. Im not kidding, I will never buy another one with electronics. I bought a top of the line Whirlpool HE top loading set for over $1400 five years ago and that washer has been a bust. I have had a repairman out over 5 times and the last time he took it out and kept it in the shop for FOUR MONTHS. I will never buy a fancy set again. I will buy the old kind with the plain old buttons. Do not make this mistake yourself! Just buy a plain old one!

Purchased this French door fridge with the freezer on the bottom in September 2017. Started having problems shortly after with the freezer not auto defrosting/ice damming on the evaporator unit in the freezer unit, which caused the fridge to warm up and food to spoil. Service came out several times and ultimately replaced the Jazz board 3 times, 2 harnesses in freezer, 1 Heater and the evaporator fan motor, with the same problem happening after a few weeks. Requested a replacement after the 3rd visit, but Whirlpool refused to back up their product. Sent service a few more times to no avail. Demanded a replacement once again. They sent a new service company out 15 months after our original purchase and they FINALLY deemed it non-repairable and are FINALLY going to replace it (turned out to be a broken wire inside the walls of the fridge, likely was like that upon delivery). So now we will have been put out for a total of 16 months for a fridge that cost >$1000. If Im spending that on an appliance I expect it to work properly or else be fixed/replaced in a TIMELY fashion. And the best part: they refuse to compensate us for any of the food that was lost due to a faulty product and very poor customer service! That was a lot of money lost because of their incompetence. If they had just replaced the broken appliance in the first place I would have been satisfied. But since they refused to do anything beneficial to remedy the situation, I will NEVER buy another Whirlpool appliance again. And add in the inconvenience of scheduling a time to be home for multiple visits to greet the repairman. Oh yeah, plus our time wasted defrosting our frost-free fridge with a blow dryer to buy us time until it got repaired. Buyer beware!

My Whirlpool is reliable, however it does not have a soaking cycle which I would enjoy having. It also has an unbalancing problem when speeding if I attempt to wash heavy loads on the extra large load cycle. However, it responds very well on large loads for heavy washing. Shortly after I got it the timing had to be replaced, but no problems since then. Overall pound for pound for the dollar it is a good machine.

On the 10-05-05, I purchased a Whirlpool natural gas water heater from Lows Orem. The unit has a 9 years warranty agreement. Lows sales S0178JC3 647605; cost $378. Model number FG1H5040T3. Serial number 0515140765. Following installation, the unit has failed repeatedly. Since keeping records of the failures, the unit failed either by the gas control valve or the thermocouple on December 2011, November 2011, April 2010, February 2009, and April 2008. Whirlpool has at all times supplied the parts but denied that the parts are technically faulted. Whirlpool has further rejected all requests to refund me for defective product. The major consequences have been an unreliable water heater. There were periods without hot water. Time was spent involving undertaking repairs.

It will constantly go off balance. I usually have to wash the cloths twice before they come clean and I have to unload washer and re-load it to get it to possibly spin without going off balance again. It will twist the quilts and fold them under themselves and tear them from the pressure. I have called after 6 months of owning this product and explained to the Lowe’s employee and they said it cannot be returned unless it was broken mechanically. This is the worst piece of crap I have ever own. The last Whirlpool product lasted 12 to 20 years. I hated this thing after the first few washings. I generally have to stop the washer and let it soak and then turn it back on if I want the damn thing to get the dirt out. I am using the required detergent as well. I will never own another top load machine like this. I am trying to unload it. Now, I have to buy another washer because I might as well take the clothes out and beat them on a rock at a creek with this thing.

When Abt Services replaced the cooling fan again, the display was completely out. The cost of the repair parts is over $800. Are you kidding me! I paid $1500 for the range. Now I need to pay $800 to repair. Whirlpool didnt offer any discount for repairing the defective product but offered purchase similar product at a discount price. Microwave Hood Combination...moisture sensor failed...potato caught on fire. Service company Whirlpool sent failed to show (Whirlpool selected a repair shop over 100 miles away). 2nd service company told me sensor failed and they would return with new part (ignoring the fact the white microwave was not gray and black) in a few days. If I wanted a new microwave without the dust and ash, I had to call Whirlpool. Whirlpool is ALWAYS experiencing a high volume of calls.Whirlpool states 7 - 14 days (unit on back order of course) for the microwave will arrive. 21 days later..no microwave. More high volume of calls... Whirpool state a repair center has received the microwave on July 31st and should have called me. Said repair center has no record of this transaction. Whirlpool reps claim to have records of my claim...but... they keep asking did we tell you it had been handled? I say read my file... Customer rep says my file is hard to understand (i.e. it is long). But they assure me they are empowered to help me. Maybe they should look up that word.Today...it is not Whirlpool customer service fault! No... It is being handled by a Product Replacement Specialist... Sadly they cannot provide me with any contact info for that Specialist. Empowered but not informed! Lesson: Whirlpool dont buy or if you do... and it catches on fire...just buy a new one... They make it impossible to get a replacement.

When I purchased my Whirlpool Cabrio washer and dry, I was told by the sale
When I purchased my Whirlpool Cabrio washer and dry, I was told by the sales associate that this was the top of the line. I paid a higher price for what I thought was quality only to find out that this washing machine (WTW6600SW2) Serial number CU2973872 is in fact poor quality, made of components that are cheap, unreliable and made to last only as long as the initial warranty. Prior to buying Whirlpool, I owned Kenmore and had a washer and dry that raised four kids, now I own a Top of the line Cabrio that cant wash the clothes of two adults. I think it is funny that two days after the washer started sounding like a jet plane taking off during the spin cycle, I received your sign up for an extended warranty letter. Then I take the washer apart to locate the trouble and find it is a single bearing on the top of the drive shaft, but can I buy the bearing and replace it? No, I have to buy the entire outer tub and drive shaft. So a $10.00 bearing will now cost me $200.00. I am sure that helps your profit margins considering all you have to do is a search for Cabrio problems to find 350,000 hits, or to ask a professional technician and receive the reply that they are replacing 2-3 of these tub and drive shafts per week. I would recommend that Whirlpool tell its shareholders that you have compromised customer satisfaction to line their pockets with profits. If that was your intent then you have succeeded, however you need to also tell them to sell their shares now as you will have no return customers. Most corporations have core values that deal with safety first and then always followed by quality. I can say with confidence that your quality can be nowhere near the top five with this many problems with your top of the line product.

After 14 years of good service with Whirlpool Duet front load washer dryer
After 14 years of good service with Whirlpool Duet front load washer dryer set, wife chose Whirlpool kitchen appliances as part of a kitchen update project. All matching fridge, range, microwave hood and dishwasher. What a nightmare! The icemaker growls and whines all the time and the dishwasher was broken before being packaged at the manufacturer. A wheel from the middle rack was missing when the dishwasher was opened. It wasnt in the sealed dishwasher nor in the box. So it had to have been broken off before the item was boxed. We called for warranty claim and A-1 Appliance was recommended out of Shreveport, LA. In a few weeks he showed up, looked at the rack for a while and said Ill have to order a new part. I said fine. (How hard can that be? Right?) So here we are 5 months later, unable to use the middle rack because it cant hold any weight with the roller missing. Multiple calls to Whirlpool and A1 and we keep getting promises and runarounds that turn out to be lies. How hard is it to say go to your local Lowes and well authorize them to give to give you a rack from an in-stock dishwasher? Let Lowes wait on the new part! Sounds simple, and any other company would have done that, or told us to return it to Lowes for another one. But NO! Whirlpool just whines about being behind on parts, shorthanded, or lies about the part is in and its A1s problem now.So, today, same story. A1 says they need 2 parts. **! Its one part. Whirlpool says A1 has the needed part. Same old runaround. So, we just replaced our 14 year old washer and dryer with NON Whirlpool units. $2500 more in of appliances that Whirlpool could have gotten, but Im guessing they dont even care about missing and losing sells. They certainly do not care about warranty, parts, quality, customer satisfaction or repeat customers. Never again with Whirlpool! Beware!

Whirlpool Gold Refrigerator Control Panel Failure - This French door refrigerator with freezer on the bottom was purchased new in November 2008. This August, the refrigerator stopped cooling. I contacted a reputable local appliance company who diagnosed the motherboard was not functioning on the appliance. They ordered a new one from Whirlpool and replaced it. Forty-five days later, the replacement motherboard stopped functioning. When I contacted Whirlpool directly to inform them what was happening, they continually stated that the appliance company was not part of Whirlpools approved appliance technicians, and offered no assistance in guaranteeing the problem will not continue to happen. Purchased a Whirlpool French door in April 2020 during the pandemic for 2K. The first week of owning it my fresh vegetables froze. I lowered the factory set temperature by one degree. The next week the ice maker stopped making ice. 3 days later it started up again. The 3rd week my freezer food defrosted and the ice maker stopped making ice. Called Whirlpool And requested a refund. They said, No we will send a tech. The tech determined the control board was defective. I had to empty the entire fridge and turn it off, defrost it for 24 hours. The headache to find someone to take your food! The part took 2 weeks to get replaced. The tech said, If this doesn’t work we will have to come back and take the back off to see what the issue is. Told to defrost again for 24 hrs. The ice was so thick we did it for 48 Hrs. 1 week later ice started to form in the freezer and the ice stopped working again. Called whirlpool demanded a refund and they said no. A tech will come again. I’ve relocated my food 3x already. How many more times can I do that! Whirlpool is not concerned about their reputation at all, as I read through other reviews of situations similar to mine. Do not buy whirlpool!

I am a very unhappy owner of a Whirlpool Cabrio Model: wtw5640xw0 & matching Dryer. About 4 years ago, my husband chose to replace our 11 year-old Maytag Performa Washer & Dryer instead of fixing a part that needed to be replaced in the Washer. I was upset with the very first load of laundry in the Cabrio and I was extra upset that my husband had junked my perfectly awesome working Performa Dryer. )-: First of all, the Cabrio set is Extremely LOUD! Secondly, I often have to wash loads more than once because they do not get clean the first time. Next, the Washer is Always knocked off balance. Ive resorted to using the settings on the Washer with the low spin every time, no matter how light the load. And, now there is something wrong with the lid lock mechanism (which has always sucked anyway), but this is a new problem... I was just checking on the internet to try to figure it out when I stopped to write this review. The lid will not lock & the lid lock light wont go off, so the Washer wont do anything at all! I can not express enough what a piece of junk this Washer is & Im never going to allow my husband (who doesnt even do the laundry) to choose my Washer & Dryer again!

Whirlpool WRF 990SLAM00 - Im 62, I have owned, and my family has owned a number of refrigerators and never have had any problems. I have been used to my refrigerators and major appliances lasting 15 plus years without any problems. I mostly bought Maytag washers and GE kitchen appliances. Then I made the big mistake of going with Whirlpool products in my new house in Florida, where I live half the year. What a mistake. First there was the Cabrio washer. After 1 yr and a week, It would not go to the spin cycle. I called Whirlpool, they said, Sorry, out of warranty. I told them, I only live in this place for half the year, so I have hardly used the machine. The Whirlpool person said, Sorry out of warranty. I asked for a supervisor and they were worse than the first person. The attitude was screw you, you should have bought the extended warranty. I called a repairman who fixed it for 150 dollars. During the spin cycle it gets really loud, but at least it works. Then the refrigerator. I arrived back in FL and the 1.5 year old refrigerator was not cooling. I called Whirlpool and said I needed a repairman. They said, Out of warranty, you can buy an extended warranty for 345 dollars. I said, No, a refrigerator should not fail at 1.5 years, send a repair man. He was great, but said the unit had a Freon leak somewhere in the box that was un-repairable. He told me, You need a new refrigerator. I will now call Whirlpool and see what they will do for me, but I expect little based on my experience with the washer, and others comments above. I will go back to all GE products after this as at least they seem to stand behind their products. Oh, and since Whirlpool now owns Maytag, as Whirlpool owns them now. Sad.

I purchased a Whirlpool Dishwasher, model DU1010XTXB1, 13 months ago and now it wont drain nor come on. Interestingly enough, the company claims no fault and wants to charge $129 just to diagnose it. This product has never worked properly, happens to have recalls for the exact same model number, yet wont acknowledge or expand its serial # coverage despite that it is the same exact problems! Do not buy from Whirlpool!

Model: Whirlpool Professional FF 32 Elite. Purchase date: 06/2009. Problem: Temperature maintenance issue. The basic need of refrigerator - unable to set/maintain temperature. The cooling system is not working! Poor customer service: Representative charged for visit. The representative is unable to find the root cause! Approximate expense of 4-5k with no guarantee of problem being fixed. Better go for other brands like LG, Samsung.

Since there is only two people in this home, we decided to go for the smaller front-loading machine. This was purchased in 2012, still running. It does a clean wash, however common sense does remind people to not over-load a front load washer. If one follows directions, it gets the job done, and ones machine lasts longer without problems. Thanks.
