This was the first new appliance that I had actually ever had and I purchased it in October of 2010. After four months, it started make a grinding sound. I called Whirlpool and the repair man replaced the motor. Approximately four months after that, the lid got stuck and the machine would not respond. Same routine as before, but this time the transmission was replaced. While the machine was apart, I noticed the white insulating panel from the bottom was brown in a spot and looked as if it had gotten hot. A month before the 1 year warranty expired, the washer started making an intermittent grinding sound nearly identical to the sound made when the motor went out. This time a different service company was sent out my Whirlpool and the said that nothing was wrong. Now, the machine is out of warranty and has stopped cleaning close and during the spin cycle the you can hear water running into the machine constantly. Last months water bill shows a 40% increase in water consumption when nothing has changed to incur a larger bill. Seeing all these comments makes me wonder why the heck nothing is being done to force recalls on such poor products. Consumers should be treated with a lot more respect than this. I will never recommend a Whirlpool product to anyone I meet. In fact, I will strongly discourage anyone who is contemplating buying a Whirlpool washer machine.

You cannot control anything on this machine. You cannot pre-fill to dilute
You cannot control anything on this machine. You cannot pre-fill to dilute detergent- you cannot choose temp because what you choose is changed by the machine (manual). You cannot choose your own combinations of temp, water volume, and timing. Once the ** thing starts you cant change anything, like the setting you wish to use. Do NOT BELIEVE THIS IS ENERGY EFFICIENT. There is a REASON that this machine has a 2nd rinse. It is because so little water is used that it does not allow soap, lint or dirt to have anywhere to go but back into your clothes. YOU have to trick it out to get enough water to actually get some loads truly wet. EVER! You stand there like an idiot opening and closing the lid just to get enough water to dilute the detergent. You cant pre fill and then add your detergent because, it needs to sense your clothes load. Wont fill with the lid open. You cant rinse the detergent cup out. You only get to do what Whirlpool already knows about your needs. Oh & lets not forget the spin cycle. When you open the lid, large items like sheets will look like a pancake made from one of the sheets. However underneath will be a tangle of the rest of your wash worthy of a Gordian knot. You can yank your shoulders out trying to dislodge the clothes. Spin yes, I guess it did, I just didnt need permanent press wrinkles. And thats if you CAN actually open the lid. For some idiopathic reason the lid may be on lock. Good luck with that. Most often, youll find no reason that you can discern like an unbalanced load or as the booklet suggests, you havent figured out how to load a machine. I hate the design of this so much that I called the company and they said that they would send a repair man out to see if its working. Whats he going to do? Run a couple of washes and say hey thats how they design these things? They will not replace it. They do not stand behind their products. You are stuck with bad design period.Describe Yourself: Frequent User. Service/Delivery: It came with a big dent in the dryer we bought with it. Installer dudes crossed the hot with the cold. Whirlpool will not stand behind the products they make & they make lots of the brand names. So they figure they can just do exactly what they want and youre screwed because even under warranty, theyll only fix the mess of engineering they designed in the first place. Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I have a Whirlpool cabrio washer (Model: wtw6300 Serial Number: CT3573525)
I have a Whirlpool cabrio washer (Model: wtw6300 Serial Number: CT3573525) and I am very disappointed with it. The spin cycle is the worst--sounds like a jet engine and gives me the UL error message of unbalance load. The machine was purchased in 2007 but was kept indoors. At the beginning, I didnt care because I had warranty with BrandsMart. I had to call at least four times. But now, I bought the automatic control and it didnt work. For two days, I was trying to balance this machine but it is impossible since the beginning.I contacted customer service and they advised me to contact the repair service in my area to get a diagnostic analysis of the issue. Hello! I already know what the problem is after reading all these reviews! I cannot tell you how pissed off I am. I will never purchase anything Whirlpool. Two of the gas burners of my Whirlpool kitchen, after two years of use, are no longer working. I will definitely contact BBB as soon as possible. Come on, fellow complainants, let us continue to fight to get a possible recall soon! We all have the same problem because this is a manufacturing defect!

When I grew up, my mom and dad had a Whirlpool dishwasher and it was the ONLY dishwasher we EVER had. The SAME one, for over 20 years! So, with confidence, I purchased a mid-range unit. (over $600 2015). By 2016, ONE year later, I was already buying replacement parts because the top rack was falling apart and the bottom spinner broke as well. The parts were extremely expensive and hard to find. Now, a mere 4 years later, you cannot find ANY parts for this machine and there are so many issues with the unit. It is no longer functioning. When it did work it ran for 4 HOURS!! Even then, the dishes are filthy. I am so upset by whirlpool. I want a full refund from the company for treating their loyal customer so badly.

Whirlpool Gold Fridge Model GR2SHWXP002 purchased on August 15, 2007 for $1
Whirlpool Gold Fridge Model GR2SHWXP002 purchased on August 15, 2007 for $1,368.77. Only repair issue so far was water leaking from the Water Inlet Valve Item # 949403. I bought a new part on Aug 8, 2011 for $73.45 and replaced it myself. The plastics on the fridge door have yellowed. No smoking in the house so not sure why the plastic has changed colour??? Would I buy one again?? Yes I love the water through the door feature and the automatic ice maker. 10 years old now and no major problems.

Outstanding, however our location has a hard water rating and as such we have to use a deodorizer to balance this out. A wide range of variables which are a fit for my purposes. Interior dimensions and layout are more than perfect for my uses. This particular dishwasher is built in so blends aesthetically into the design of the kitchen seamlessly. The product has a drying system which successfully blows air over the top tray to eliminate wet areas within depressions of crockery, glass, and so forth, its excellent. There is also a light steam setting which removes tough deposits from surfaces.

Purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio Washer 5 years ago because our other washer died after coming home from vacation. Its just 2 people in this household so I dont do mountains of laundry. The other machine lasted 15 years so go figure. We purchased the Cabrio from Lowes. Got the extended warranty but as it goes the machine fails when all warranties expires. Over the last couple of weeks this machine started to not complete a wash cycle. All lights go off except for spin light and machine stops. Even asked the person in charge of washers and dryers at Lowes about this who then told me to get an extension cord and plug it into a different outlet. Seriously! I have had to unplug the machine after it fails to complete cycle, wait 5 minutes or so, plug it back in, select rinse and spin, it fails again 13 minutes left in cycle, unplug again, plug it back in, select drain and spin, wait for it to MAYBE complete that cycle. Do not purchase this type of machine. Just for a technician to come look at it is $100 or more and to replace whatever circuit board is probably another $300 or more. Screw that! Going to find a good old fashion one if possible. Piece of junk. Not going to spend $700 or $1000 just to wash clothes for 2 people.

We bought a Cabrio washing machine two years ago. I have had to have a repairman out twice for it shooting water out of the top (from a top-loading machine). They repaired that and its better. But this goes off balance ALL the time. I cant even wash a load of towels without it going off balance. We bought this one as it was supposed to handle large blankets and even my lightweight king size comforters. Yeah. Did once or twice, then started the off-balance stuff. It grows MOLD in the bleach, softener, and detergent dispensers.I wrote to the company and included pictures. They were really rude about it. I finally found how to remove the dispensers to clean them, but it is very difficult. I HATE this machine and will never buy a Whirlpool again. (Our refrigerator, which was in our house when we bought it, is also a Whirlpool. It is poorly designed and collect dust in the coils UNDER the thing and you cannot reach them to clean it. Coils are behind other pieces that block being able to clean them.) Whirlpool is a horrible company and doesnt stand behind their products, in my experience.

My new energy-saving Whirlpool washer sucks. Laundry comes out smelling as bad as it went in. Washcloths are as dirty as they were when they went in. I have to take my dogs bed blankets to my sons home to wash them because this new washer will not even clean blankets.UPDATED ON 08/21/2015 - I have had two Whirlpool washers in 38 years. They were great. I buy a new up to date energy-saving Whirlpool washer and it doesnt last a year and a half. Now it is costing me $433 to have it repaired. I am preparing a washer and I am very unhappy with to start with. I will never recommend these washers.

When I purchased my Whirlpool Cabrio washer and dry, I was told by the sale
When I purchased my Whirlpool Cabrio washer and dry, I was told by the sales associate that this was the top of the line. I paid a higher price for what I thought was quality only to find out that this washing machine (WTW6600SW2) Serial number CU2973872 is in fact poor quality, made of components that are cheap, unreliable and made to last only as long as the initial warranty. Prior to buying Whirlpool, I owned Kenmore and had a washer and dry that raised four kids, now I own a Top of the line Cabrio that cant wash the clothes of two adults. I think it is funny that two days after the washer started sounding like a jet plane taking off during the spin cycle, I received your sign up for an extended warranty letter. Then I take the washer apart to locate the trouble and find it is a single bearing on the top of the drive shaft, but can I buy the bearing and replace it? No, I have to buy the entire outer tub and drive shaft. So a $10.00 bearing will now cost me $200.00. I am sure that helps your profit margins considering all you have to do is a search for Cabrio problems to find 350,000 hits, or to ask a professional technician and receive the reply that they are replacing 2-3 of these tub and drive shafts per week. I would recommend that Whirlpool tell its shareholders that you have compromised customer satisfaction to line their pockets with profits. If that was your intent then you have succeeded, however you need to also tell them to sell their shares now as you will have no return customers. Most corporations have core values that deal with safety first and then always followed by quality. I can say with confidence that your quality can be nowhere near the top five with this many problems with your top of the line product.

I am sorry to have updated that review 2 years later. Whirlpool has actually contacted me after posting on their Facebook support group. I am not sure how it happened but I was contacted by their executive team who is WAY more professional and efficient than their support team. In a matter of days my washer was replaced and installed by a new one - the closet available to the model I had - I did not pay a penny and no questions asked even though the washer was out of warranty. So my answer to you is when you are stuck do your best to talk to the executive team!

I love Whirpool products. They work well, even under hard water conditions. Ive had my Whirlpool washer/dryer for 12 years now without one single problem. Even with the hard water problem in my house, the clothes still come out clean, the dryer works well, I do clean my vent each and every time after each dry. I also have to clean the area where I put my detergent in due to the hard water and the machines are still working great.

Our original dishwasher lasted many years and did a good job until it didnt. We replaced it with this one that we found at Home Depot. It is not the one we wanted but the delivery was months away and this one was in stock. It does a good job in cleaning the dishes. The only issue I have is that the top rack is not designed for large mugs or glasses. The wine glass holder has 3 slots, but we can only get two in based on the spacing. Also, our mugs dont fit, well on the other side, inside the fingers. Maybe our dishes are on the larger side...I dont think so but like I said earlier, it does a good job cleaning the dishes.

Purchased Whirlpool Cabrio model WTW6400SW washer and dryer 1/7/2007. The matching dryer was dead on arrival and the second dryer motor died within a year. Washer: 1year 2 month the washer motor died. Whirlpool paid for the part and I paid the labor. The following year, the bearing went out and the outer tub was replaced (the bearing is inside the plastic outer tub - bad design. Whirlpool paid for the part and I paid the labor. Feb. 2011 had one of the F errors. Whirlpool repair tech came out as the tub would not drain and it was a wire that had come loose underneath washer - another service call charge. Dec. 20, 2011, I had an error F50. The Whirlpool repair tech came out, verified no clothes or money stuck in the machine. All clear. He called higher level whirlpool tech and they paid parts and labor to replace the main control board and the RPS Sensor. Im single and am not abusing this machine. Like everyone else who posted. I paid close to $1,000 for this washer (not including the dryer) and I have been a faithful Whirlpool customer for 3 generations, but if Whirlpool doesnt offer some kind of compensation/trade in credit to customers who purchased this (knowing that the design is bad/faulty) washer and discontinue this model. This will be my last Whirlpool. I will have lost all faith in Whirlpool. The Whirlpool service tech that I found is op notch. I will miss him if I have to switch brands. Im putting 1 star as I know this machine will not be operational for 9 years which is the minimum that I would expect. If it makes it to 6 years without another service call, it will be a miracle.

Bought a new set of Whirlpool Cabrio Platinum tin replace my Maytag that had finally died. I believe this is the worst set Ive ever owned. It wasnt inexpensive but its cheaply built. Cant wash a set of sheets without it getting out of balance, even if you carefully place them in the washer as they recommend. They knock up no matter what you do. The dryer is gas and my clothes still have to be turned back on for more time that should take. We are talking about over an hour. Ive had them just a few months but Ive had it. I want my washer and dryer to just do their jobs like you expect. Im selling them or donating them but whichever they are out of here. Whirlpool, I am ashamed of you. Putting out such a poorly made washer and dryer. Instead of the name Platinum. They should be named Salvage. Never again Whirlpool. Never Again!!!

I purchased the Whirlpool Flame Lock water heater (model BFG1F4034T3NOV) in May of 2008. Within a little over a year, it stopped working. I was able to get the manufacturer to send out a repairman and install a new kit. It worked great for 2 years. Now, here I am again with the pilot light going out daily. So I went to Lowes and purchased the thermocouple, and a friend installed it. We still have to light the pilot light twice a day to have hot water for showers.

We bought an 80 gallon lifetime warranty electric water heater. We get about 20 minutes of hot water and then cold water. Weve had 2 plumbers out and checked our system and said it has to be the water heater, but they dont want to mess with it in case it voids the warranty. Fine. We called Whirlpool and since the alarm system isnt indicating an issue, they say its not the water heater. We now have to do a diagnostic ourselves to find out if it is the water heater. What? It has a warranty! We are not plumbers! How come Whirlpool doesnt think its their equipment? Weve already had ours checked and it isnt us! So frustrating and we will not buy another whirlpool product again! Not good customer service to promote repeat buyers. Whirlpool, shame on you.

Whirlpool has been my brand for years but I must say that after buying this
Whirlpool has been my brand for years but I must say that after buying this washer #WFW75SHEFWO from Lowes - on sale, which is clearly a lemon, that I will never buy a Whirlpool appliance again. Not because I believe all of their products are subpar, but because the service on these units is unacceptable. The first call for service repair resulted in the Appliance Repair Service company missing the first appointment due to being overbooked, rescheduling and missing the second appointment due to illness, and the third appointment the guy finally arrived nearly five hours late. Supposedly they were a man short. When the technician finally showed up he claimed it was the board and the pump and scheduled a time to return to fix it and then he never showed up... No call whatsoever. Clearly a lack of clear communication and no respect for a customers time. I called Whirlpool to complain. Nathan, a supervisor was attentive. I requested a different company and was refereed to Appliance Doctor in North Hollywood. Rosa, the customer service receptionist at Appliance Doctor, is quite pleasant, professional and clearly wants to correct the numerous missed appointments that keep occurring with her Whirlpool appliance repair company. First repair appointment missed due to illness, next he came and did not really inspect the unit completely, and third appointment rescheduled nearly a week later due to a death in the family. No other repairpersons? I am certain it will be a car breakdown the next appointment. I have no patience for bad management because it is always an extension of bad ethics, which if you believe many of the negative reviews on this site Whirlpool and their various appliance companies appear to frequently miss the opportunity to engage within an honorable sphere. This is a new washer purchased only a few months ago. One technician mentioned it was due to overuse of soap/. The other technician was adamant that it was a sock stuck in a pump. Really? He did not open it up or even check the unit with any thoroughness. Error codes are enough. I was informed it would cost me and that this problem of the unit shutting the door and not completing the wash cycle was not covered by warranty. I informed him that I would call the manufacturer and insist on the unit being fixed. I did so and Whirlpool agreed to cover the repair. My schedule has been adjusted repeatedly to be present for these various service appointments only to have them cancel with a text. Bad business. I called Whirlpool repeatedly and was informed that socks must be put into a wash sack and no rugs with rubber backing. Again, my jaw dropped. What? I had an Amana washer and dryer for over 12 years and they worked great! So sorry I got rid of the Amana washer now. The Whirlpool is a piece of junk... Poor design and the fact that they are okay with such bad service has me calling around to other companies for a new washer and dryer set that will be on par with my Amana set. Whirlpool is clearly keeping these appliance companies in a brisk business with such abysmal technology. I am on the phone with another Whirlpool rep, Tracy, who is very attentive and helpful. The music playing while waiting, sometimes for 30 minutes, is similar to a film score, which helps calm the anger of time being wasted.

Whirlpool WRS965CIAM - Consumer beware is what weve learned. Whirlpool has apparently not monitored the hundreds of complaints about this particular refrigerator model. Its sleek and pretty and has a ton of features and I was very excited about purchasing it. We havent moved into our home yet, but turned the refrig on the next weekend after closing, started painting rooms, even had some nice ice water. I came back next day to a very large amount of water all over my hardwood floors. We are talking bath towels. Who would know you are supposed to call Whirlpool directly? We sure didnt. We called Hart Appliances, where we purchased it from. They gave us a number to call for service on Monday. The repair guy came, didnt have what he needed, so he came back later in the afternoon and fixed it, until we came back next morning and the floor was again flooded... Again, we are talking bath towels. I called them back and was told it needed a part, that took 4 days to come. Its here today but they are not coming until Monday to fix. Customer service at Whirlpool has no record of calling out a serviceman. They wont have info until problem is fixed. According to folks on the internet sites, that could be months or never! Okay, ladies... am I ever going to trust that this refrig will ever be fixed? I wont dare go away for a weekend without fear it will leak all over my floors and ruin them. We were going to purchase a chest freezer and small full fridge for drinks and overflow to keep in the garage. Instead, thats where this fridge will end up. Expensive lesson learned. Whirlpool doesnt replace brand new, out of the box, defective refrigerator. Whirlpool also doesnt admit there are complaints out there... Customer service person told me she had no record of complaints... I said when we get off the phone... GOOGLE WRS965CIAM and you will be amazed. My next complaint is going to Consumer Reports. We bought the magazine and followed the advice. Id like to think we just got a lemon, but there are too many complaints out there for that to be the case!

They have the worst customer service department. The A&E worker who came to my parents house smelled, wasted a bunch of time working on the machine and didnt fix anything! The A&E worker visited my parents house over 10 times and the problem still wasnt fixed! They (worker) have ordered parts after parts and still water keeps running from the bottom of the machine! Someone, please help and cut Whirlpool from the stores! Ive spent almost a whole on the phone trying to help out my elderly parents! Its ** and a lot of headache! This is our 2nd circuit board failure in the 4-5 yrs, since we purchased this very expensive range/oven. The first time was shortly after the warranty ran out and Whirlpool would not even send us the part for free. They said there was nothing they could do. So this time we are not even contacting them and are just having our repairman order another new one. For a $1600 range to have to put more than $400 back in so far, I would never buy a Whirlpool again. I have been very careful not to use any cleaners on the circuit board as I was told by our repairman that that shorts them out. First the convect bake button wouldnt work, nor the convect roast, now the bake button, so the only buttons that work are broil and warm. Even the timer is shot. What a piece of junk (electronically). Beware buyers!

I purchased top load washer and dryer from Lowes last week. When I was washing clothes the first time 12/4/18 (the day Lowes delivered) I washed in quick wash setting, machine was showing me all stages of the wash on the progress lights. It took about one hour for one load. Today 12/11/18 I spoke to your customer service associates Trina regarding the issue with my top load washer wed4815ew1 serial m82572023. I was told a technician is schedule for repair tomorrow. I try to quick wash two loads, washer progress light only went to wash mode only. I had to press start/pause, select drain and spin to remove excess water. I started 8:30 am and finish around 1 pm. I was waiting for the cycle to finish, twice all progress stages light went blank. I have no idea when it will be done. Machine made noise, not spinning, no water in it. The dryer wtw4816fw2 serial c84621285, I dry at energy prefer setting, when the clothes was dry, dryer continue without the buzzing signal to stop. I had to keep watch of the time and turn it off manually so it not energy efficient when I have to monitor when clothes will be dry.

I purchased this microwave in September 2010. It was installed in a vacation home, so it has actually been used for less than one year. It has now stopped heating food for the fourth time. The previous problems miraculously fixed themselves after flipping the fuse for a few minutes. I guess I should have been suspicious at that point, but I figured maybe I had overheated something. But this time, the problem has not corrected itself. The Whirlpool representative that I spoke to, while very polite and personable, only scheduled a service call that will cost me $89.95 PLUS parts and labor. I asked her if other people had reported this same problem, since it had happened to me several times. She told me NO. I decided to do some research myself (yes, I know; I should have done this BEFORE I spent $578 on a worthless product) and found that many others have had the same problem, and that this is obviously a defect in the design of this unit. Unfortunately, I purchased the entire Whirlpool package because of a special rebate available at the time. Now, I am wondering if my other appliances will begin to break down in the near future. After reading about the experiences of others, I am calling to cancel the service visit. I will be removing the microwave from my kitchen and purchasing a new one. Whirlpool has lost a customer. I will NEVER purchase a Whirlpool product again.

Just outside warranty, washer has broken down twice more. This was a new fridge, and all of my food went bad along with my infants milk. Our just over 1 year old Whirlpool washer died completely last month (mid May). After calling them and being directed to the extended warranty dept (which we ended up purchasing), a repair guy came out and told us it was our main controller board. Three days later, he returned with the board and nothing. We were then told it was the user interface. They were on backorder until June 5, which means our machine would be out of commission for three weeks. I just received another call informing us the part was now on backorder until June 15. Whirlpool, on what planet is it acceptable for your appliances to be out of commission for six full weeks? Never again.

It has all these fancy buttons for all different types of cycles and loads and they all seem to wash the same. As a mother of 3 kids I want my kids to put on CLEAN clothes. I purchased a very expensive Cabrio top-loading washer thinking I would never have to worry because supposedly it’s the top of the line, right? Well, I have it a few years; the first week they replaced the basket because it was ruining my clothes. And then I had to replace the pump because of a coin getting caught and putting a hole in the pump. Really? What the heck? Now the basket is all shredded at the top. Obviously that isn’t right, so what do I do now? Replace the basket again? Who gives them the right to charge so much for a piece of junk? Plus, it’s supposed to save on water, but I feel that the clothes don’t really clean well. They hardly feel wet coming out of the machine.

It appears they are both relying on warranties rather than selling dependable products or customer satisfaction. Purchased our stainless steel Whirlpool Gold range hood microwave oven in January 2011. By August, there were problems. It was noisy. It would occasionally shut off for no apparent reason and eventually in August of that same year, it completely stopped heating. The magnetron was replaced at no charge because it was still under warranty. The microwave has continued to run very loudly, vibrate a lot and is still prone to random shutoffs. Now a little over 2 years later, it has now stopped heating again...I am assuming another bad magnetron. How is that possible? Our last microwave lasted for over 10 years! In fact we got rid of it when it was still working fine so we could get this one for over the range instead of on our countertop. So now I have a Whirlpool paper weight for which I originally paid $485. When I called Whirlpool, I was informed a service call would be $130.00 PLUS any necessary parts and labor costs OR I could purchase the repair plus 1-yr extended warranty for $289.95. Upon requesting to speak to a supervisor, I was informed that there were no flags in the system indicating any problems with this line of microwaves. I further inquired on how they are aware of problems... Essentially a phone call warrants little proof of any problem. A service tech would have to actually go out and witness that there is a problem for it to be noted. So, for those of us that simply decide to turn our back on the product and buy a new microwave, it would go undocumented by their company. My top-of-the-line microwave is less than 3 years old and has broken down again. Doesnt common sense tell you that there is a problem with the quality? I know Whirlpool has been around for 100+ years and I really want to like them, but if they dont support the consumers that purchased their products, I can no longer do the same for them.

A disaster from start to finish. I would give it zero stars if possible. Purchased from Home Depot online in September, 2020. The first delivery was scheduled for October 11, 2020 at 7am on a Sunday. I spent hours on the phone trying to get the time changed. I was assured it would take place later. That didnt happen. The delivery service Temco called at 6:30a and refused to come back later. I had to make a new appointment. A week later they delivered the dishwasher, left it on the porch, refused to uncrate it or bring it inside the house, refused to haul away the old machine and stole the Dishwasher parts kit that I had paid for which delayed installing the dishwasher. After the machine was installed I discovered the machine did not come with a manual. I was told I had to download and print the manual. When I complained that I should not have to use my paper and ink to print a users manual after paying $800 for a dishwasher. I was promised a check to offset my costs. I was supposed to get a credit for my inconvenience but that never happened either. The first time I ran the machine using the one hour cycle water was all over the machine and I had to dry inside. I was told that I had to use a longer wash cycle so I did the second time. After 4 hours of washing, the glasses had a film on them, even though I rinse the dishes before putting them in the machine the dishes had some debris on them and water had still collected on the top of the glasses.Whirlpool sent a repair company out and the technician said motor pump and display control were faulty and it would probably be cheaper to replace the dishwasher rather than repair it. I was told I would get an email the next day telling me what would happen. I never got the email. During the week I called Whirlpool and Home Depot many times to complain about the faulty dishwasher, stolen parts and the promised refunds for my inconvenience as well as having to print the manual. Calling Whirlpool or Home Depot customer care will take hours and gets you nowhere. A week after the repair person came out I called the repair company to request a report as to what had been done and was told that they were coming back out the following Monday to fix the machine again. Monday, The repair technician came out and replaced the control panel but not the pump. The machine wont heat up to dry the dishes--the heating coil wasnt even warm after being on for 8 min. I am supposed to be contacted again for a 3rd visit!! I have a dishwasher that is faulty (read lemon) and Home Depot wont allow me to return it because their return policy is 48 hours after delivery. Whirlpool refuses to replace it unless the technician says it cant be fixed. Obviously, that will never happen. I should have repaired my old dishwasher rather than waste my money on this horrible machine. Whirlpool used to make fine products but those days are over. How does running a dishwasher for four hours saving energy? My old over 10 year old Whirlpool dishwasher was perfect until the pump broke. The dishes were always clean, dry and came out of the machine hot and sanitized. I am so disappointed in both Whirlpool and Home Depot.

Bought a Whirlpool washer and dryer in 2/2013. In 5/2014, the washer went out of balance, but corrected itself quickly. Since then, it sounds like a cement mixer during the spin cycle. It took one month to get someone to come out and look at it. Apparently the bearings went and the part alone costs $450! Add another $250-$300 for labor and I could buy another washer. We called Whirlpool, who were unwilling to do anything to rectify the situation, i.e., replace the washer, send a replacement part, give us a discount on the replacement part. We didnt buy the extended warranty because who would think that a brand new washer would crap out after 15 months... and theres only the two of us.Not like Im washing clothes for a family of 5! I only needed a new washer/dryer because I moved out of state and didnt want to move the ones I had. Regretting that decision. Handle broke off again in little pieces in September 2012. This will be the 3rd handle that will continue to break in little pieces every 6 months. According to both repair men that were here, this is their comment: No customer abuse, this is a very common problem with this model. After to speaking to 3 people at Whirlpool, I was told by everyone, This is cosmetic problem and we will not fix after the 1 year manufacturers warranty is up. I started with the the first person, went to her supervisor, then went to her supervisor. I am now waiting for a call from a manager although I was told I will continue to get the same answer no matter how far up the chain of command I go. So, I was told that it is okay to have 2 screws sticking out holding the remaining part of the handle that is left, because it is a cosmetic, not a functional problem. I will never stop with Whirlpool. I will call 4 times a day if necessary. I will never purchase another Whirlpool product again! I will tell everyone I know not to purchase one of their products. Moved to new house with new Whirlpool appliances, including oven, in August, 2015. I did not cook in oven at all until Thanksgiving meal. Had something spill over in oven. Spillover caught fire. Oven at 350 degrees. Complained to Whirlpool. A supervisor told me that it is normal for spillover to catch fire. They sent out a tech to check oven, and said I would be responsible for paying tech. The tech explained that unlike conventional ovens, this oven has heating elements outside of oven, so to get to the temperature of 350 degrees, the heat at the bottom of oven can get to over 550 degrees. He could not get Whirlpool to replace oven. I didnt have to pay, but now I am afraid to use it. Some of the finish on the inside of the oven was burned away, so it is not like I can trade it in. Purchased this set in January of this year 2016. The loudness of this machine struck me first along with the constant banging of the pipes in the basement when filling with warm water. The agitator is very loud. Thought I was trading up from a 10 year old Whirlpool front loader set. There is hardly any water in the washer when running a full load. I take clothes out that are not only a twisted tight mess but in some spots are not even wet!!! The dark clothes inevitably need to be rewashed because there is white residue on them!!! I have used the pods and liquid and it doesnt seem to matter, happens with both. Customer service has no answers and say theyve never heard this before. How can this washer wash clothes when there is no water and little if any movement of clothes??? And how is it that we are all saying the same exact things and Whirlpool is not being held accountable??? I DONATED my working fine set to a dog rescue and am now stuck with a brand new machine that works PERFECTLY HORRIBLY. So who is watching you Whirlpool???

I purchased a new Whirlpool Cabrio washing machine from DeWaard & Bode
I purchased a new Whirlpool Cabrio washing machine from DeWaard & Bode at Bellingham, WA in January of 2007. The serial number is **** and the model number is ****. Several months ago, the dreaded F1 code appeared. The code initiates when the washing machine is started and must be cancelled and started 3 times to continue washing. Later, with approximately 19 minutes left in the cycle, the code reappears and requires canceling and restarting another 3 times, at times 4. I have no extended warranty so I have no coverage for repairs. I also dont want to pay for a service call for what is most likely the computer module as evidenced from the majority of complaints online. This washing machine still looks new and works other than the inconvenience of having to stand by when starting the cycle to reset the code and then having to run upstairs later to reset the machine when its partially through the cycle. At some point, it will likely quit operating all together. I have purchased several appliances over the years from DeWaard & Bode and will be replacing all kitchen appliances again next year due to a planned remodeling but at this time, I do not intend to get them locally due to this issue. I have reviewed several comments online and feel that Whirlpool has a real problem with this particular machine that they refuse to be responsible of. I was offered an extended service plan for 1 year at $132.01 or 3 years for $336.61 but Id have to wait to be allowed to utilize it due to existing circumstances. Im not sure if a fix is actually available. The local dealer did not offer any assistance.

Since the actual workings seem fine, I am not complaining but rather quite concerned.Especially after reading the numerous Negative Reviews.

Whirlpool Gold appliances are junk!!! Our dishwasher just stopped working one day. It was about 2 years old. We tried all the troubleshooting ideas we found on the internet. Nothing worked. I had a 13 Year old working dishwasher when I bought this one. Sure wish I had left well enough alone. I think there should be a class action lawsuit against Whirlpool. I had also purchased a new electric range... It is constantly giving me an error message when I try to use the oven. We have to flip the breaker and that sometimes helps. I bought 4 of the Gold appliances... I’m holding my breath on the other 2. I thought I had done a good job researching before I bought. I remodeled my kitchen. It turns out that a company that I believed was reputable and worthy of my business are not.

Bought this dishwasher (Model No WDF530PAYB3) in 2013. First the plastic latch for the dishwasher detergent door broke. Then, the paint on the face of the door started to bubble, peel, and now is rusting. Next, the heating element broke. Lastly, it started leaked on my wood floor causing damage. 2013-2014 I bought that Dishwasher, Micro-Hood, Stove, Refrigerator, Washer, and Dryer all Whirlpool. All the kitchen appliances were Whirlpool Gold. They would not fix their product. Offered a discount on a new one as if I will ever buy Whirlpool again.

I purchased my Whirlpool Gold Series refrigerator from Lowe’s in Rockledge, FL. This was my third purchase after returning an LG Refrigerator as well as a Samsung refrigerator for having multiple defects! My Whirlpool Refrigerator purchased June 2014 has motherboard replaced that showed obvious evidence of factory board flaws when boards were manufactured. Top mounted ice maker drips so much water it fills my veggie draws with water ruining my food. Mold is present inside my ref now from constant leaks. Drawers were replaced by tech also due to ill-fitting design during first few months. Water will not dispense in door after one year, gave up using it. This is a horrible and very expensive appliance wrought with POOR DESIGN FLAWS. WHIRLPOOL does not care about its consumers. Their engineers must be some of the worst in the world. Our old 70-year-old kerosene powered refer in the Bahamas is still making ice, yet most modern day refs are like buying cheap home computers that constantly need service to keep them running. It’s a lifetime investment with $89 first service visit to determine problems then weeks of waiting for parts and second visit for the repair to be completed until next electronic malfunction. DONT BUY A NEW WHIRLPOOL APPLIANCE. WAIT AS LONG AS YOU CAN FOR ALL THE CLASS ACTION LAWSUITS AGAINST WHIRLPOOL & Kitchenaid to play out.

I purchased a house with Whirlpool products installed. The refrigerator wasnt too cold but working for the first 2 months. Then the ice maker stopped working, the freezer stopped working and now nothing works. I have been through 4 service calls, I repaired that took almost 2 hours and the refrigerator is still not working. I have spoken with numerous Whirlpool representatives and they were like robots with respect to their response. There is a chain that they adhere to and once you have spoken to an executive at their corporate office, no one else can help you. Now I am trying to reach that executive and there hasnt been a response. I havent been able to have food in my refrigerator for over 3 weeks and counting. Imagine, eating out for breakfast, lunch and dinner for this length of time. Christmas - no refrigerator, New Year - no refrigerator. A consumer who makes a purchase in good faith should not be put to this kind of agony while trying to remedy the situation. I dont know what happened to their customer service but it is nil. From my own personal experience and in my opinion, Whirlpool is not a company that cares about their customers, just their profits. I am at a loss . What are my options as a consumer?

The repairman said it was a bearing that was going out and that it was a common problem in the Cabiro washers. Cost to repair it would be $500.00. Last week, it finally started spewing oil from underneath so had to buy a new washer. I will never, ever buy anything made by Whirlpool. GFG461LVT2 - In October of 2010 I purchased a Whirlpool Gold Fridge and Stove. Its been about 3.5 years and two of the caps that go on top of the range burners are chipped. All of the caps are badly stained and despite the manual instructions to wash them in mild soapy water, they do not come clean. They dont come clean using heavy duty Easy Off cleaner. In addition, the seal on the oven door has apparently failed because the glass is foggy on the inside. Today I phoned Whirlpool after going to their website. I first spoke to a parts representative who advised that I would have to pay $47.00 per cap or $115.00 for all five burner caps. I was transferred to another department as I thought I should get the appliance parts and door fixed for free. The appliance is only 3.5 years old. I was told that the appliance is only guaranteed for 1 year and I would have to pay dearly to remedy the two problems. This appliance is Whirlpools Gold series. It supposed to be top-of-the-line - the price tag was certainly top of the line. Im very disappointed in American workmanship and the companys lack of integrity. Not too long ago I purchased a Whirlpool (aka Maytag) front loading washer. I now own a Samsung. The point is that designed obsolescence will force consumers to purchase products made outside of the US because some of us cannot afford to buy or repair appliances, cars, etc., every couple of years.

We bought the Whirlpool Cabrio set from Sears in February 2010, for our second home. We counted up the weeks we have actually been here since then, it is about 10 weeks. We figure we used the washer about three times per week. So, we have gotten about 30 wash loads from this washer and it dies mid-cycle. We assume the motherboard crashed. It kicked the breaker. Lid was locked and we couldnt get it open. The washer would not power up. Repairman arrived three days later, got the latch opened but couldnt figure out what was wrong with it. He said it is probably a board and it might be better for us to replace. He wants to pick it up tomorrow to take to his shop. I called Whirlpool to complain. I know the one year warranty is up but to get 30 uses out of this expensive piece of junk and not get any consideration from the manufacturer is not right. I wish I had seen all these complaints before I bought it. No Whirlpool ever!

When I contacted Whirlpool about this - they were not only rude, but will not support quality issues with their products. They basically said they did not care and even acted like a consumer should expect such things! Actually said because its subjected to high moisture levels. WRONG, I do NOT just expect rust. It only formed due to poor quality paint job and was not cured correctly. On April 10, I bought a Whirlpool washing machine with a sensor. My clothes do not come clean. The dirty spots are still visible. I had three technicians come to check it out and after they just made the machine start, make the water run, and make the water empty, they confirmed that it was working normally. I have insisted on having someone come and just do a small wash and they did not agree because they are not there to wash clothes. I went back to Leon’s where I bought it and the saleslady told me that she could not do anything about it. I have been dealing with the customer service and the person has tried three times to get someone to come and check the washer properly and was insisting in front of me that I wasnt at all satisfied with the performance of the washer and still confirmed that the washer was working fine. They keep saying that there are no parts that need to be fixed or exchanged, so that means there is nothing wrong with the washer. I have tried all different kind of soaps. They were suggesting that I use Tide, which was the best performing soap. I used Tide or Purex - I even tried half a bottle of bleach - and it would not clean my clothes. The problem is the clothes are not turning, they just hardly moved with water that just keeps the clothes humid. I tried putting in more water with a bucket and when I push the start button, it would drain out all the water that it did not put itself. Ive called the consumer protection and they have advised me to take legal actions against the company and the store that sold it to me. They confirmed that whatever we buy, the article has to do the work it was made for; so the performance of a washing machine is to wash clothes. I even took a three-year prolonged warranty and the store told me that once the one-year warranty with the company has expired, then they could help me with sending their technicians and see what the problem was and they would take it from there. I have an account with the store and I have eighteen months to pay it off. So I was wondering if the saleslady did sell me an appliance saying that it was very good and that I should not have any problems with it. Can I take steps going against her for false advertisement? It’s a month now that my clothes are not washed properly and I need to rewash them by hand before putting them out to dry. The consumer protection office has been telling me that the store should be the one to finalize the problem with the company, but it seems that not even they can come to an agreement. Whatever steps I will take against the company and the store, what are my chances of getting my washer replaced? Whirlpool has been advised about me taking them to court and I got permission to do so. Actually, they invited me to go ahead and do what I thought was right. I do not have the money or time to waste on something that maybe I will have no chance to get anywhere. All I want is to have it replaced with another washer that would be more performing. If anyone has had the same problem and had their case solved, maybe it will give me hope to go on. Please, what is the best and fastest way for me to get this problem resolved? I do need a washing machine. I do need to wear clean clothes. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

I purchased 4 Whirlpool appliances late 2014. The French door refrigerator close to a year later made a piercing sound several times during a day. I immediately contacted Whirlpool and the representative directed me to YouTube to listen to the normal sounds the refrigerator would make. My first thought was I have been a homeowner for 30 years and countless appliances and never heard such a horrible sound. At the same time they sold me an extended warranty over the phone. He assured me sounds were covered. The sound just kept getting louder and more frequent. I could not take this piercing sound and called back. They sent a local repair service. At the time the repair person came out the refrigerator was not making the sound. I played a video recording and the repairman even said what an terrible sound it was. He continued to check everything over and said - everything looks good. I dont know what the sound is coming from. I asked, What is Whirlpool going to do? He said, nothing, the warranty ran out and your extended warranty does not cover sounds. What a ripoff! Now the drawers broke and another thing they wont cover! I also have problems with the dishwasher I purchased at the same time. Even putting on the extended hot dry I need to wipe everything off. I should have just open a window a tossed out over 2k. The sound is so horrible I am being forced to junk the refrigerator and purchase a new one. Dont purchase Whirlpool and never purchase extended warranty over the phone.

I ordered this Whirlpool 29 cu.ft. white french door refrigerator online from Goedeckers on April 26, 2013. Delivered May 15, 2013. Ever since we got it, there was a frost buildup in left back of ref. Also ice would fall out of dispenser all by itself. Also a buildup of ice under ice bin. Water would also drip from dispenser. We thought maybe since it was new these problems would go away. But they just got worse. I called Whirlpool & they sent out tech on 8/12/13. He told me Whirlpool has a problem with these refrigerators & would order parts. Well after 3 times of cancelling repairman due to parts on backorder, I told repair I would call when parts come in. I keep calling Whirlpool & keep hearing parts are on backorder, saying parts will be in in 7 days. I call back in 7 days and hear the same lies. Its a shame that they cant get parts in knowing that there is a major problem. It sounds like a real quality control problem. I really pride myself on buying American made but Whirlpool is not helping my case for buying American made. It would be nice if they offered to replace it being they cant seem to find parts.

Whirlpool refrigerator - I purchased $6950.93 in Whirlpool products in one day last year at HH GREGG in Lexington, Ky. The refrigerator was purchased on that day September 18, 2012 and my kitchen wasnt going to be ready until December, but I wanted all items bought for measurements (specs) for the new kitchen designer. HH GREGG delivered to my garage October 26, 2012 because they couldnt hold any longer, but when we purchased that day they promised to hold till December when my kitchen would be finished. I have Proof from the kitchen installers the day they finished, December 28, 2012, was the day the appliances were installed. Well here I sit typing this letter on January 7, 2014 and my Whirlpool refrigerator is as of right now is in need of a compressor while losing approx $1000.00 in purchased food. In other words, approximately $900.00 in repair cost. Isnt Whirlpool a large enough company to stand behind its products when I paid $2599.00 for this refrigerator for at least one year from installation instead of purchase date? My fiancee has been trying to work out a solution with Whirlpool and the parts are on back order now. For at least two weeks we have been without a refrigerator and have two young children. Doesnt it show that the parts being on back order from Whirlpool, barely being a year old prove the defective product is being sold to the public daily? I plan on going further with this action due to the name Whirlpool all over my kitchen which disgusts me. Im going to write every columnist I can and do all I can with what little resources I have against this large company if no one helps us. This is absolutely an injustice against consumers...

We had the Whirlpool Cabrio Washer [WWT5640xw0] for approximately six months and it began to behave strangely, very much like the other complaints I have read on this site. It works poorly, does not clean the clothes, there is a smell that is coming from the machine and it makes loud, inappropriate noises. It stops spinning and washing in the middle of a cycle. Before I become aware of the issue, I would find loads of clothes sitting in the water and the machine indicated the cycle was completed. What a piece of junk! We cannot afford to go out and get another washer at this time and based on what everyone else is saying, the cost of repairs is very costly. I too called the company and was greeted with indifference. I too will not purchase another Whirlpool product and have spread the news to my friends about this worthless product and manufacturer! My message to this company: Whirlpool, the right thing to do is recall the machine and provide us with a voucher so we might go and purchase another machine from any manufacturer we wish. But we all know that will not happen as the company is clearly saying to its customer base, Our sales and profits are more important to us than you and your satisfaction!

Re: wdf7payw6. I purchased this unit last February. It has never washed properly. In the last month 2 separate warranty service reps have been out. The first one told me that I have not been doing a good enough job of prewashing the dishes so the arms were clogged. While cleaning them, he broke the top arm. When he came back to replace the top arm, he added that the dishes were not drying because I didnt use enough jet dry so I would have to dry by hand, and that the arms were clogging because I didnt prewash well enough. I told him to leave and never come back. I called customer service and they sent out a new company. The rep today told me that even on time delay or overnight settings I must run the hot water prior to starting the unit. And that since the water wasnt hot enough; the undissolved detergent was clogging the spray arms. This was confirmed by your phone support person who told me that for best results thats what I had to do. The result I want is for the thing to wash dishes. It doesnt do that. The current rep ordered a heater, motor pump and spray arms. My previous dishwasher operated perfectly (until the pump failed) for the 18 years I have lived in this house plus however long it was here before I moved in. Whirlpool Washing Machine Model WTW4950XW0 - This washing machine was purchased as a gift by my father. We have owned this machine for about 2 years. I am very disappointed with the quality of this machine. I have 3 children and several pets. I use my machine a lot and need a quality item that will last. This machine is not that item. Within a few months, the machine was off balance and bolts had to be tightened. We have had problems with the belt, bolts coming loose and the machine not draining.More recently, the machine has become very loud... For approximately the last 6 months. My husband has taken the machine apart and looked for anything to be wrong with it and has found nothing. Now the machine is not running. I will turn it on and it fills with water and then stops. I will clear it out and restart it and it does the same thing. Another issue has been with spinning and draining. The clothes are soaking wet even after the drain/spin cycle.I have researched what could possibly be wrong with this machine and have found a vast number of items that could need replaced. With the money I have already put into fixing this machine in the past and the amount it will cost to fix it this time, I believe I will be further ahead if I buy a new machine made by a different company. I will not be buying a Whirlpool product again.

The Whirlpool repairman left today after replacing the burned out motor on my 5 yr old dishwasher bought in Feb 2012 and installed July 2012 as did not arrive from Quebec to Surrey BC until the end of June 2012. So the Finish dishwasher detergent was in the dishwasher as samples and coupons and recommended this Finish for use in the new dishwasher so I stupidly believed them and used it. Well last week my dishwasher stopped working after it started and turns out today the cause was from the Finish dishwasher detergent. I was told today after paying 393 dollars for the repairs. Not to use Finish anymore or I will have the same problem. To only use Cascade. So what is a person suppose to believe.

Big bang for your buck. I have used Whirlpool for years without any needed repairs. Typically you may see brands began to fade as you use them. However, the Whirlpool brand microwave always seem to stay true to its form. As long as you keep the inside clean the microwave should last a long time.
