I purchased both the Cabrio washer and dryer because my dryer stopped working, it was old, and I knew that soon the washer would too, and wanted to modernize my set -- it was my moms old set. I was thrilled to get it delivered and should have had the delivery man from Lowes take it right back, when he told me they had just come from picking up one from another lady who was thoroughly dissatisfied with hers.Well, it didnt take too many washings for me to understand why that lady was upset! I really wish I had done the same thing! EVERY load of dark clothes have to be wiped off to get off the disgusting wet lint thats all over the clothes! Thats been going on since DAY 1! In every load, the clothes do not get completely wet and I thought I had combated that issue by having a pitcher of water always available to pour onto the load, so the sensor will add more water... That doesnt work, I now see!!! I just noticed last night lots of wet lint was on my fabric shower curtain liner, and I was thoroughly upset! I just never feel as though anything I wash gets clean. I truly wish I had come across this site BEFORE I purchased my set, and I would never have done so. Is there ANYTHING that can be done for people who have purchased these horrible appliances?

On 9/28/16 I purchased 4 new Whirlpool appliances from Orvilles Appliances in Buffalo NY. They were delivered on 11/9/16, the refrigerator was installed. The microwave, dishwasher, and range were not installed until Jan. as my kitchen was being remodeled. Both doors were dented; it took 3 months for Whirlpool to send new doors. After installation water began pouring all over, gallons of it; it took a month to get fixed. The microwave door has a large defect and the surface light does not work; it is still not fixed. Six months later it is still it fixed. I feel like I paid a lot of money for defective appliances. Whirlpool is truly a company that does not stand behind their products; they could care less about their customers. I will never ever do business with Whirlpool again. And Orvilles also refused to help; it was a mistake to shop there.

Very concerned. First the microwave broke. It seems that is burning on the inside. The model number is MH1150XMS-2, purchased in 2005. I have had to replace the plate. I have read of many recalls, because of the potential of fire. My model was not among the ones on the recall list.

We were looking for stainless steel and this model was that. This model has lots of presets which we like. We lucked out and got it on sale and were able to get features of a more expensive model for a lesser price. The only downside is getting the turntable back in when you clean it. One of the things I wish it had was a way use the timer for foods cooking in the microwave plus use the timer separately for timing food you arent cooking in the microwave, but will be part of the meal. Also, the defrost options could be clearer!

My parents 89 and 76 years old bought a Whirlpool fridge a few months ago.
My parents 89 and 76 years old bought a Whirlpool fridge a few months ago. A month after purchase fridge built up moisture terribly. Water was laying inside so much seeping on floor. We called, Whirlpool sent serviceman out. Serviceman number 1 put some kind of black tape in the door saying it was the seal. We were just disgusted over this and it didnt work. We called again, serviceman number 2 came out, said bad door, so he ordered door. Serviceman number 3 came out, replaced door. Moisture still in fridge, food isnt staying cool, and you can physically still see gap indoor. We called again. Serviceman number 4 came out and said fridge is not level due to floor in house. But nothing wrong with floor in house. This serviceman pushed on fridge said to my 89 year old dad and 76 year old mother and I quote, Put a piece of wood under this side of fridge. We will not replace this fridge. Now mind the fridge was delivered and set up by Lowes. So now this brand new fridge is no good and we have had no help whatsoever to fix this problem. So my parents whom have been married for 62 years with 5 grown children, 16 grandchildren, a 36 greatgrandchildren and 1 great great grandchild have promised none of us will ever look at another Whirlpool anything much less purchase a whirlpool appliance. Just for the simple fact of how a multi trillion dollar company will not stand behind their warranty nor name. We are disgusted with the whole situation. This is the worst experience any of us have ever had. So no I would not recommend Whirlpool to anyone for the simply fact of the way my parents have been so disrespected by this company. Its horrible to know this kind of behavior is even allowed for employees to disrespect people. The Whirlpool fridge is warped, damaged from the time it was built. The warranty I hold in my hand says and I quote after 3 visits and problem not fixed fridge will be replaced.Well Whirlpool has been out 4 times and has refused to replace it. This couple has worked hard all of there lifes, lives on a fixed income and has just threw away money on a Whirlpool fridge they cant use. So now we have are in the process of hiring a lawyer. Its the principle of Good Vs Evil with Whirlpool. How whirlpool has refused to stand behind the Whirlpool warranty. So Like I said earlier I would never recommend buying any product that has anything to do with whirlpool. Shame on Whirlpool just shame on them.

This company should be avoided at all costs. Purchased 2 Whirlpool dishwash
This company should be avoided at all costs. Purchased 2 Whirlpool dishwashers in 2018 and in less than 2 year the top dish rack glide rail front wheel broke off causing the rack to drop down and render the dishwasher unusable. Warranty was one year and I went online only to notice that the OEM factory replacement part(s) are now made out of stainless steel (or aluminum). I also noted that the parts were made prior to 2015 (date on the video and other vendor sites) Which is a good 2 years prior to my purchasing of this product. This means that they obviously knew there was an issue but continued to produce and sell them with known faulty parts well after they realized at least 2 plus years when you consider that they would have had to re-tool, redesign and send to production prior to the product release date.So it looks like they have continued to sell the product knowing fully well they were defective and did so just to sell replacement parts or to use up existing parts inventory. Either way this means this company has no scruples and does not stand behind their product. Another stain on the reputation of products made in China! Shame on you Whirlpool!

Washing bedding is a nightmare! They are sopping wet & I have to wring it out. Finally broke down today & the repairman quoted over $600 to fix (paid $800). Take this piece of junk away!!! Do NOT buy this washing machine. It looks nice but that is all. My elderly parents bought this washing machine based on the past experiences with Whirlpool but the quality of the product has changed. This machine constantly errors and does not allow them to wash clothes. I have followed the instructions in the manual to try and clear the errors. I ended up calling Whirlpool and the response I got was... It will be anywhere from $80 to $125 for someone to come out and look at it. This is a product which should not stop working after 2 years. I guess Whirlpool only stands by their products for a year because they think it is only built for a years worth of service. I wish I had better things to say because the previous Whirlpool machine lasted over 20 years.

I purchased Whirlpool top loading washing machine model # WTW57ESVW less than 2 years ago. It stopped working yesterday. I had a trusted professional repairman evaluate it today. The motor needs to be replaced after less than 2 years?! The customer service reps basically said sorry. I should have purchased the extended warranty. Is it not reasonable to trust that a Whirlpool washing machine motor should last more than 2 years.I am very unhappy and very angry that Whirlpool will not stand behind their product. The last customer service rep I spoke to suggested she could send one of their repairmen and replace the motor at a cost to me of $299.00. So, after less than 2 years, I am offered an amount to pay of about half the cost I paid less than 2 years ago for the brand new washing machine. My home is full of Whirlpool appliances. I have been a good and loyal customer for over 30 years. I am very angry and upset with Whirlpool. Please explain to me why it is not reasonable for me to trust and believe that a Whirlpool top loading machine that is well cared for and not abused in any fashion should last longer than 2 years? Is this being a loyal Whirlpool customer gets you, I should have purchased the extended warranty”? We are talking about a motor here, not a fabric or bleach dispenser that breaks. Although, those parts should not break either, there is a big difference from something like that and a motor. Please contact me as soon as possible at either number listed above. Thank you.

Whirlpool Gold Fridge Model GR2SHWXP002 purchased on August 15, 2007 for $1,368.77. Only repair issue so far was water leaking from the Water Inlet Valve Item # 949403. I bought a new part on Aug 8, 2011 for $73.45 and replaced it myself. The plastics on the fridge door have yellowed. No smoking in the house so not sure why the plastic has changed colour??? Would I buy one again?? Yes I love the water through the door feature and the automatic ice maker. 10 years old now and no major problems.

In July I purchased a Whirlpool Gold oven and cooktop from Lowe’s. It was delivered in Aug. after a 5 wk wait, since it had to be ordered. Since installation, the hot surface light on the cooktop stays on. I called in & was told to try resetting the elec. breaker. Did that... still stays on. Model G7CE3034XB00, Serial D43005649. On Sept. 4th I called & spoke to Carrie (I believe in TN) who told me she would try to find a service tech in my area & would get back to me in 3-5 days. Apx. 5 days later she called & left a message on my cell phone stating that she could not locate a service tech in my area. I would need to find my own service tech & submit any invoices to the resource dept for reimbursement. Parts could be ordered at no charge. I have nothing in writing from the company to confirm I would be reimbursed, nor was I told how to correspond with the resource dept in the event I had an invoice to submit for reimbursement.Today, Sept. 18th, 2014, I called Whirlpool again (800-253-1301) & talked to Stephanie in Michigan. She told me the same info. When I asked to be sent a wiring schematic I was told I didnt need one. When I asked how to get in touch with the resource dept. I was given a fax no. & email acct. When I asked how I was supposed to get in touch if I didnt have either, she said I should go to the local library. Now lets imagine for a moment that I am disabled or live so far out in the country that I cannot get to the library... How am I supposed to get to a fax or email acct. Has anyone at Whirlpool considered that? This is a new appliance under full warranty, yet it has become my job to find a service tech, pay up front, & wait for reimbursement. REALLY??? I am also in the market for a new dishwasher & you can bet it wont be a Whirlpool!

I bought a Whirlpool front loading washing machine 5 years ago, which has given me constant trouble. The computer on the machine is not working. When it is fixed, the machines makes extremely loud grinding noises and frequently the spinner does not work properly, leaving you with heavy sodden wet clothes. Whirlpools guarantee is very limited and customer service is unhelpful except to apologize for your horrible experience. You will have to pay for a technician to diagnose the problem. I will have to replace this costly machine after just 5 years of unreliable service. I would never buy a Whirlpool product again.

We purchased 3 Whirlpool Gold appliances, fridge, range and over-the-range
We purchased 3 Whirlpool Gold appliances, fridge, range and over-the-range microwave in 4/2011. Since that time, the fridge needed repair, the microwave door had to be replaced and the range had to be repaired. Now the heating element on the microwave went and Whirlpool will not fix the problem. We purchased the extended warranty through Whirlpool and they are saying it is not worth fixing. We paid $470.00 plus tax and install and now all they are giving us is $348.00. Since we have had repeated problems with these appliances, why not just fix the problem or replace the microwave??? What Whirlpool customer service told me was that would be options for us if we did not purchase their extended warranty. Tell me, is that fair? The cost to repair the microwave was $388.00 and they are giving us $348.00 - do you not think for the $40.00 difference, it would be worth to spend it to keep us happy. We will never purchase another Whirlpool product again and will tell everyone we know not to buy their products.

We purchased a $3000 WRF990SLAM00 / K22019120 refrigerator in 2013. Within the first two and a half years we have already put over $700 in repairs. We were told today the coolant for the ice maker has a leak (either a slow leak or a fast leak, they arent sure). But from here on out we will have to put coolant in it to keep the ice maker working. A week ago we spent another $300 to repair the water dispenser. This is the worst fridge we have ever owned. Whirlpool could care less and we are basically out right at $4,000! DONT BUY WHIRLPOOL.

We got what was a top-of-the-line Whirlpool Refrigerator about 10 years ago. It is still running, BUT all of the drawers have broken at least once and the door shelves no longer work. The replacement cost for each item is ridiculous especially considering how flimsy the items are. We decided to look at Whirlpool Refrigerators since the one we have is still running. They have changed absolutely nothing in the drawer or door design. It is all still very flimsy especially compared to the competition. I would strongly advise anyone looking for a fridge to look elsewhere, since, obviously, the quality of the interior is not a priority at Whirlpool. Avoid Whirlpool Refrigerators. The drawers and drawer shelves will ALL break since they have put no effort into fixing obvious defects.

As a busy mom with 11 children, I needed a refrigerator that could stand up to the demands of my family. This refrigerator is great and meets my needs, but could use a few improvements. The side refrigerator shelves are not on very sturdy. When my daughter removed a jar of mustard, the shelf came off the door, fell onto the floor and broke. This could be solved by improving the gripping strength (increase depth) of the refrigerator door shelf holders. Additionally, the sliding freezer shelf is always crooked and has to be manipulated into place. This is most problematic when the freezer shelf is full. The freezer is not smudge-proof, but clean up is easy with a damp towel.

The refrigerator is not repairable according to 2 different servicemen. The refrigerator just stopped making ice and not cooling all of a sudden. The problem seems to be inside the panel between the refrigerator and freezer portion. Its a side by side. First time I ever bought Whirlpool Appliances. To make things worse my Whirlpool oven does not work either. Even worse, the Microwave pretty much popped and never worked again. A Whirlpool microwave. The only thing still working is the Whirlpool dishwasher but I wonder for how long. Ive talked to Whirlpool and they said I only had a 1 yr warranty and they could not help. I am writing to their corporate office to complain. I have an old Maytag refrigerator that still works and puts out ice in my garage. I went to look at Maytag appliances and just found out that in 2006 Whirlpool took over Maytag. So I will not ever, ever buy another Whirlpool or Maytag again.

Ive had the WDF510PAY dishwasher for 3 years and the circulation pump broke. To be more specific the impeller inside the circulation pump warped and then basically got lodged because it became oblong and then it wouldnt pump water to the spray arms etc. I bought a new pump because the warranty only last a year. The pump cost around 90 bucks. After not even 1 full year this factory replacement pump failed again. I reviewed other Whirlpool dishwashers more expensive and I found they all have this same junky circulation pump. Im not sure of a better dishwasher but I would never recommend a Whirlpool dishwasher again. They also use the same circulation pump in Maytag and many other brands. Whirlpool or whoever designed and sold this pump to Whirlpool should be tracked down and beaten. Simple products like dishwashers should last more than 3 years. The technology is nothing new. A product should last 10 years at least.

I purchased a dishwasher less than 6 months ago from Menards. Since then, I have had to have it repaired twice, due to items getting past the filters and clogging up the drains, so the dishwasher wouldnt drain. I have a 1-year warranty that came with the dishwasher, so both repairs were covered. However, I felt that there should be more done by the company, such as a free extended warranty to cover the cost of repairs as Im sure there will be more; and this is a problem that even the repair man said shouldnt be happening.I called Whirlpool to see what could be done, and all they kept telling me is that I could purchase an extended warranty. I told them (nicely, at first) that I found that ridiculous - why should I pay even more to continue to fix a problem that I shouldnt be having? If they werent going to give me a free extended warranty, I requested at least a partial credit toward another dishwasher, and they could have the piece of junk I have back. They refused to help. I am beyond disappointed with the lack of concern they have for their customers. I will not purchase any more Whirlpool products.

Do not buy Whirlpool appliances! Save yourself the trouble. I have a Whirlpool free-standing gas range that I bought when I purchased my house in June 2008. Just the other day, the oven stopped working. When I went to turn the oven on, I can hear a clicking sound but the burners in the oven do not ignite. I called Whirlpool and they offered to send someone out to fix the problem. By the time someone comes out and charges me for parts, labor, etc, I will probably have paid half of what I paid for the range when it was new! I also had the same thing happen with a Frigidaire refrigerator last year! The bottom line is that brand name appliances are not built the way they used to be. I am actually looking at buying a Samsung or some other model and try my chances with them!

My Whirlpool refrigerator is more than a year old but have been complaining
My Whirlpool refrigerator is more than a year old but have been complaining forever it seems. The serial # is 21142009, model WRT777REYWOO. All bottom cords etc. is out and 3 times I had people come out to fix and it never changed. The lettuce drawers freeze and in the freezer leaves ice cream pretty soft. I am so upset about this, and cannot afford a different one, no matter what brand because I paid around $1,000 for it and I am low income (my ss), 73, and disabled. But Whirlpool refrigerators are not worth buying if this is the standard policy to ignore their responsibility here. It leaks water from freezer to meat compartment, and I could go on but seems hopeless. My sister in Oregon had the same one and they took hers out finally so she could apply that amount to a different brand which has no problems.

I had a Whirlpool GI7FVCXWY01. Purchase 3/13/2010. I had repairman after repairman come to fix it. The last one probably saved my family and my house. The light in the back corner was not only blinking, but flashing rapidly, much like some wild party light. It eventually stopped. The freezer works perfectly fine, the fridge works when it wants to. The ice maker makes ice some days but not others. The motor on the ice dispenser is completely frozen up. Does that all sound about right? If it does, clean it out and cut the power to it before someone gets electrocuted or your house catches fire.If you cant find the electrical diagram, or the company wants $455 to answer your questions, look under the right side of the freezer draw, but not on the draw. Remove the guard on the very bottom of the unit, near the wheels on the right side. You will feel a plastic bag attached to the underside. Inside that bag is the complete diagram of all the wiring harnesses along with the schematic for the amps and voltages for each wire. Are they telling your circuit board is bad and you will need a new one? Before you do that, inside the fridge compartment, in between the water filter and the ice maker, remove the light cover. Notice that inside that space is the access to another panel. Remove that panel. BE SURE THERE IS NO POWER RUNNING TO THE UNIT FIRST. Here you will find a connection plug with more or less 15 wires that are connected to the main wiring harness. Above that plug you will find a holding chamber. This holding chamber contains water from the filter that is waiting to go to the ice maker. It has dripped condensation on the plug since the day you first turned on your fridge. Your wires are most likely broken and corroded. You will need to have your unit completely rewired, but because of the design flaw that fix will only buy you another 4-5 years. My Whirlpool GI7FVCXWY01 left yesterday 5/15/2014 and none too soon.

Whirlpool Cabrio washer - Its been a month now and still the washer is not fixed. The repairman through Lowes warranty service is the worst by far I have ever dealt with. I had new transmission put on, still wont agitate and smells hot. The washer is only 18 months old, well taken care of. This expensive hunk of junk is worthless and the aggravation for all this mess is worse. I called Whirlpool 2 times. The first time, I got a call with the standard oh so sorry bit. Oh boy, that gets the washer fixed. Not. I blasted them and Lowes again. I have had it with this mess. The repairman is supposed to contact Lowes a week ago for replacement. He has done zero. I called Lowes to check. How can they sell this junk to customers who pay for this washer? They know it is junk, Lowes and Whirlpool, so do the right thing and recall the junker for refunds to consumers.

Ive had nothing but problems with the Whirlpool Cabrio washing machine and dryer. The motherboard has been replaced three times, once on the dryer and twice on the washing machine. The inside of the washing machine is going to fall apart because of the rust at the bleach holder. I saw some of the complaints. Is there any way we (consumers) can sue Whirlpool for selling defective units? We are from all across America and there is no way we should all have the same complaint. The stores that are selling us these items should be held accountable. Also the only thing Im getting from them is, Theres nothing we can do. PLEASE DO NOT BUT WHIRLPOOL WASHERS AND DRYERS!!!!

Purchased this 27 cubic ft French door bottom freezer fridge (WRF757SDEM01)
Purchased this 27 cubic ft French door bottom freezer fridge (WRF757SDEM01) in Sep 2016. Approximately 8 months after, fridge stopped cooling. Called Whirlpool for service diagnosis since fridge was still under warranty. Service tech stated coils were freezing over due to part malfunction and part needed to be replaced and ordered. He provided me with a temporary fix by defrosting all the ice from the coils since the part would take approximately two weeks to come in. I spent an entire day of annual leave from my place of employment for this service call!!! New part was replaced and fridge was cooling like it was supposed to.Here again six months after the part replacement, my fridge was doing the same thing again; NOT COOLING my food AND there was this awful noise coming from the area in which the part was replaced. That drove me CRAZY to the point I would turn it off in short increments to maintain my sanity. I called whirlpool AGAIN, and this time, my fridge is NOW out of warranty, BUT, the replacement part of five months prior should still be in warranty. My fridge failed the day after Thanksgiving and five days after the fact, the service tech will be at my house again.Worst part of this is I took an entire day off work expecting the service tech to come between 8-12 as told to me by the whirlpool customer service rep and guess what? The company called at 1000 and said they only do appointments in my area in the evenings. I was furious; again another day of employment missed at the hands of Whirlpool. I am not confident that the same part that was replaced in May is defective and I may be going through spouts of an inoperable fridge again and again. Whirlpool really needs to take a hard look at recalling these fridges OR providing quality appliances for the money that we pay. I had GE appliances in my old house and NEVER had issues with the refrigerator. My new builder choose whirlpool and made the wrong choice! I just want a refrigerator that will work operate for the $2100.00 that I paid. I will NEVER recommend whirlpool appliances to anyone... Never!!!

Whirlpool Duet Sports washer purchased 11-08 was found defective by service technician due to improperly secured bolts on counterweight at factory. I contacted Whirlpool service and was informed that warranty will not cover any parts or labor. I ordered parts for repair. It will take at least 2 weeks until arrival and repair of item. Clothes washing now were taken to town for washing at additional expense. After repair, only 90 days of warranty was given by the service technician. The cost of $260 to repair item for a possible life cycle of only 90 more days seems ridiculous.

I purchased a Whirlpool refrigerator in February 2016 from Lowes. Within 3 months the freezer started frosting up and eventually wasnt freezing. I made sure the back of the refrigerator was clean of debris and defrosted the freezer. This started occurring every 2 weeks. Upon a visit to Lowes, they indicated I would need to call the manufacturer. Well, after calling about 5 times and sitting on hold over 30 minutes each time, I gave up and decided I would just deal with having to defrost it every 2 weeks.Fast forward to September 2016. I wake up to $300 in food at 67 degrees in the fridge. Mind you, Im a caterer and have a wedding to cater in a few days. So here I sit on hold with Whirlpool. The man answered the phone after 40 minutes on hold. Then proceeds to tell me there are no technicians in my area and someone would get back to me in 24-48 business hours. Unacceptable, I say. I have now been on hold for another hour while he sees what he can do. Biggest load of crap ever. He didnt bother apologizing for the loss of food, and hasnt checked in with me once. I think the guy might have put me on hold and gone to lunch. I will NEVER purchase another Whirlpool appliance - and zero stars to their customer service team. This is **!

We purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio, top load washing machine WTW6600SW back in 11/07. Last week (todays date is 8/19/11), the machine sounded like a plane taking off when it spins out. When the local service technician came out this week, he said that the bearings are shot. Since the tub and bearings are all one part, we were told by the technician that the part and labor costs would be $379.99 to repair it. We originally paid $799.00 for the Cabrio, less than four years ago. Whirlpool would not even give us a concession of a new tub and bearing part as it was out of the 1 year warranty.

Our Whirlpool oven was on fire two different times. The first 10/1/2021 flames inside oven right side. When Flamingo Appliances came to fix the coal was fried underneath. He changed it. Almost 4 months later my stove is on fire again and had to call 911 this time! The back control panel caught fire and is fried. This model has too many malfunctions and is faulty. Whirlpool said they are going to send Flamingo Appliances out to diagnose the problem and see if they can fix it. What next, gonna blow up on me. Earliest they can come out is 2 1/2 weeks. This is unacceptable at all cost. I never had a problem with a stove like this. This stove is faulty. Purchased our stainless steel Whirlpool Gold range hood microwave oven in J
Purchased our stainless steel Whirlpool Gold range hood microwave oven in January 2011. By August, there were problems. It was noisy. It would occasionally shut off for no apparent reason and eventually in August of that same year, it completely stopped heating. The magnetron was replaced at no charge because it was still under warranty. The microwave has continued to run very loudly, vibrate a lot and is still prone to random shutoffs. Now a little over 2 years later, it has now stopped heating again...I am assuming another bad magnetron. How is that possible? Our last microwave lasted for over 10 years! In fact we got rid of it when it was still working fine so we could get this one for over the range instead of on our countertop. So now I have a Whirlpool paper weight for which I originally paid $485. When I called Whirlpool, I was informed a service call would be $130.00 PLUS any necessary parts and labor costs OR I could purchase the repair plus 1-yr extended warranty for $289.95. Upon requesting to speak to a supervisor, I was informed that there were no flags in the system indicating any problems with this line of microwaves. I further inquired on how they are aware of problems... Essentially a phone call warrants little proof of any problem. A service tech would have to actually go out and witness that there is a problem for it to be noted. So, for those of us that simply decide to turn our back on the product and buy a new microwave, it would go undocumented by their company. My top-of-the-line microwave is less than 3 years old and has broken down again. Doesnt common sense tell you that there is a problem with the quality? I know Whirlpool has been around for 100+ years and I really want to like them, but if they dont support the consumers that purchased their products, I can no longer do the same for them.

Whatever you do, dont ever buy a Whirlpool French door refrigerator. For the last 5 months this $2,200 error in our judgement has not worked. We purchased it late last September and were so excited to enjoy this sleek machine. Wrong. In November a controller broke and the refrigerator portion froze over freezing everything and blowing apart the deli drawer. Then the ice maker was not working, it topped out at about 10 cubes a day. After that it acquired the lovely habit of shutting off every several minutes. 24 hours a day. Every time it would turn back on it would chime. 24 hours a day. And neither the refrigerator nor freezer portion would maintain temperature. Whirlpool keeps sending people out, turning us into their Guinea Pig while they try to come up with a solution. The chiming has finally stopped but we still dont have an ice maker and the light is intermittent. Another repair man is due tomorrow. So unless you have countless hours to spend waiting for and dealing with repairmen, making phone calls and enjoying throwing away spoiled food, dont waste your money with this company.

After reading many of the 1,500 +/- complaints about this inferior product, I guess I should consider myself lucky. Ours didnt fail until this past Saturday, March 22, 2014. We purchased this Whirlpool (American Water Heater Company) water heater FG1H4040T3NOV at Lowes, and had it professionally installed, in October 2004, and we have had no issues until this past Saturday when we woke up to no hot water. After checking for the obvious, and finding no apparent cause for the failure, I considered it a fluke and relighted the pilot. The pilot took a few attempts to light, but it lit, and the burners came on.Three days later, we woke to no hot water again. This time, we placed a service call to the company that did the initial install. The technician came out, and after his inspection he informed me that the thermocouple/burner assembly needed to be replaced. He also informed me that this is a well-known issue, and Whirlpool has been sending out free updated replacement parts. He called Whirlpool, only to be told that they are no longer offering free, updated parts. Whirlpool also cited that the water heater was out of warranty (by less than 5 months). He gave me Whirlpools number, so I could contact them myself. As I smelled a rat, I began to do some online research about this issue, and, to my chagrin, I found out that I was far from alone with this issue. As of this writing, 1,500+ consumer and professional complaints, a settled class-action lawsuit, etc., etc. I contacted Whirlpool, explained my situation to the support rep, and, he proceeded to tell me that he couldnt help me with free replacement parts, due to the warranty being expired (less than 5 months). I argued with him, stating that this is not a warranty issue, but is in-fact a design/manufacturing defect issue, that has resulted in a redesign/re-manufacture. I cited the myriad of online data and negative testimonials, and I reminded him about the settled class-action lawsuit on this very topic. He acknowledged all of the above, was unimpressed, and offered to sell me the parts. After 15 minutes of back and forth, I asked to be escalated to the next level. But, of course the supervisor was unavailable, and If Id care to leave my name and number... yeah, right. Bottom line, Im very angry! I paid good money to Lowes for Whirlpools product, with a nine-year warranty. I had it professionally installed, and we have no hot water due to poorly designed parts. And... I am being forced to purchase the redesigned parts. Its truly unsatisfying to be an American consumer these days!

Buyers beware of Whirlpool ovens! We bought a Whirlpool Built-In Electric Oven in August 2008. Fifteen months later, I decided to clean the oven for the first time and when I turned it on the auto-clean, the entire control panel went dark. The technician said he has seen this problem several times in such ovens and was able to repair the oven. I called Whirlpool and they had not heard of this being a common problem. Last week, the air blower wasnt functioning and had to be replaced. I called Whirlpool again and told them about this second incident in a 4 year old oven that is not used frequently. We had bought a whirlpool refrigerator (Model - DC 205 5S/2016) in late April 2016. Initially I noticed a whirring sound after 6-7 hours of switching it on. As nobody from whirlpool had come for installation or any follow up even after requesting, we let it go thinking that nothing could go wrong with a new fridge. Nevertheless, the disturbing sound continued, until I noticed exposed wires running crisscross atop the freezer box and below it, one even preventing the chiller tray to be pulled out easily. Also, we had to get a stabilizer to reduce the notice even though it was written in big bold letters that it was a Stabilizer free refrigerator. After 8 months of owning it, we went for a three-day trip leaving the refrigerator on and set at point 3 in the cooling knob of which 5 is the maximum. On returning back, I noticed a crack at the top right corner of the freezer door and saw that ice had built up covering that side of the freezer inside. Again, as I had to leave for office within 1 hour, I let it rest and went. In the evening we noticed that the crack had extended, so we defrosted the fridge. The next morning I found a small piece of the freezer door floating in the defrosted water, and the freezer door was unhinged and askew at the top, in fact a part of the freezer doors upper right hinge had broken due to maybe the pressure of ice buildup, which had caused the crack that we saw.Shocking it was at first to learn that a freezer door be made of such low standard material ignoring the other fact of wires jutting out of the freezer at top and bottom. As the warranty period was 12 months, I immediately called the customer care, who put me on hold for 8-10minutes and disconnected, this repeated 2 times after which I was frustrated enough and vowed not to use the freezer again. After almost a month a more responsible member of my family took it upon himself and raised a complaint which was answered and a service person came home with a dirty looking and completely scratched piece of replacement door for the freezer. He informed that plastic pieces never came in warranty and we had to pay for it. Upon asking for further clarification he called his manager, Hemanth who was too rude and informed Madam you have pulled the freezer door apart which has caused this. Also, he was asking me specifically are you lying as you said initially that you left for 3days and now you said 5 days? We had left on a Friday night and came back on Tuesday morning, which means 3 complete days out of station. I never knew the exact number of days mattered as a fridge was supposed to be switched on continuously for days. Also, finally Hemanth was informing like if it was some mechanical or electrical fault we could have done it free of cost. So, I reported the whirring noise and the wires jutting out of the freezer tray. He blabbered at first and then informed me that the sound might be due to voltage fluctuation if you are not using a stabilizer (we were using one even though the fridge was a stabilizer free operation one, phew) and the wires issue he completely ignored claiming it as normal. So we paid in full for the dirty and scratched replacement door and also had to be called as liars and blamed that we had literally pulled off the door. Also, he was the most unprofessional manager that I had ever spoken to as he closed the conversation with, If it was LG or Samsung, they would never even have come for service like this. Enough was enough... Never in my life would I have anything to do with whirlpool nor will suggest this brand to anybody. They use such low-quality products. The warranty promises are just scam + even the managers are so insulting and bad mannered to the extent that I never want to deal with them anymore. Also, they dont think twice before just blaming the customers for their low-quality products. In all my years so far I have never come across a brand that treat their customers like this.

Purchased on 04-26, professionally installed on 04-29 into a clean, large, well-ventilated area within the garage. Has turned itself off every day since then. Flashes code 10, screen is dirty... Pull the burner and the screen is clean. Called Whirlpool. They tell me to clean it again, so I do. This goes on for weeks... I can now pull the screen and clean it with my eyes closed. I get up a half hour early every morning to complete my water heater re-lighting procedure so my family can take a warm shower!!! Whirlpool gives me a phone number to a repair company. They tell me the repair person will have parts on the truck. I wait four days, guy comes out and says, You need a control valve.... did they send it to you? So I had to call Whirlpool back and order the valve... three more days... Very next day after repair, the thing shuts itself off again! I call Whirlpool and they try and push me off to the repair company, saying they are now responsible for the repair, but in the same sentence the tech says the heater needs a burner assembly. Okay, so you know it needs a burner assembly, but you ask me to contact the repair company to come out and fix it knowing they DO NOT have the parts on the truck? Only after I change my tone and raise my voice does she offer to send the part ahead of the repair appointment! In my opinion, Whirlpool has reached the top of a list shared by other mega companies like Bank of America and Time Warner Cable... Too bad the accolade is for the worst product and customer service. DO NOT BUY Whirlpool.

We our adding our name to a list that is remarkably long. We purchased a top loading Cabrio washing machine just over a year ago and the problems with the balancing of the unit are the same as everyone else who has written in. The service company A&E has promised a lot but has done little to resolve the issues we have had with the machine. One representative told us that she would order the part and have it sent to our home. When the part did not arrive, we called A&E back only to find out it was never ordered because the service technician would not return their phone calls. I find this excuse ridiculous and similar to other false statements they have given us on the other four phone calls made to address the problem. After reading these reviews, we realize that this is only the beginning of what will be a frustrating and costly experience. Never again will we buy a Whirlpool!

Updated on 07/09/2020: This fridge freezes produce. A part was replace to solve this problem but it has never worked properly. After several attempts to correct temperature fluctuation, Whirlpool decided it was working within their specs and advised us to set the temp higher to solve the problem. So we are doing that but now if the temp is too high the ice is watery and falls out of the ice compartment when we have finished using the ice dispenser. So we lower the temp and it again freezes the produce. Do NOT buy a Whirlpool!!! If you have any questions look at whirlfreezefood story...Original Review: Purchased September 2019. Worked for a couple weeks and then Freezes the produce. I have put it in the center drawer and in the main fridge still freezes. Go to ** for full story and recording of a message Whirlpool left me.

Bought this fridge at Best Buy because it was beautiful and thought it would go perfect in my new home. We allowed the fridge to regulate for 72 hours (even though it only needs 24) and it didnt cool properly or make ice. 3 calls later to the 800 number (along with three scheduled repair visits) and Im getting the run-around. 1st excuse was that I needed to order parts. 2nd excuse was that it was a bad sensor due to the manufacturer. The 3rd excuse was that the fridge door wasnt aligned properly, thus not sealing properly and not allowing the fridge to regulate, which causes it to freeze over. My ice maker also hasnt worked once in this entire ordeal. The issue still isnt resolved and I am vowing to never spend thousands of dollars on this brand again. Spare yourself the headache and go with a less glitzy, more trusted brand.

I purchased my Whirlpool refrigerator from Best Buy 11/20/19. It has been nothing but a nightmare. It freezes up and defrosts into the refrigerator.! I called Whirlpool about the situation. The company they use to fix my fridge S&S Appliance has not been keeping accurate records. I have all the calls from Best Buy and S&S Appliance. I was told today-all my records didn’t count. Best Buy Geek Squad couldn’t repair so they turned everything over to Whirlpool. So about every week someone comes out and fiddles with it and tell me it is fine. 2 days later the same. I have owned many Whirlpool products and never have I been so disappointed. Their service has been neglecting and I don’t know how anyone would want to buy Whirlpool. They have set me up another service appointment with S&S Appliance. Obviously I have bought a lemon and no one takes any responsibility. Good luck with Whirlpool!!

Whirlpool Cabrio Washing Machine F1 code - We have had this washing machine
Whirlpool Cabrio Washing Machine F1 code - We have had this washing machine for over 6 years now, and ever since our 3 year warranty time was up, the washing machine will only stop, and display the F1 code as soon as the wash cycle has completed, with 23 minutes left. To start off, with this problem, it is causing me more water, and electricity that should not have to be wasted if the machine worked properly. I called the place where I got the machine, and was told to give Whirlpool a call. I did this, and was told that there was nothing that could be done, and if I would like to schedule an appointment for a tech to come out and work on it, they could do that. YES, I would have to pay for it. Needless to say, the washer has been doing this for over 6 years, and if there is a way to get it fixed WITHOUT having to pay for the repairs, that would be wonderful.

First, I was put on hold by the first female for 44 minutes, and then a second woman finally answered, and said she didnt know why she would send me to her, because she was in the sales department, and she put me on hold for another 25 minutes. I finally had to go, because I had an appointment. When I got home, I called back, and got a man by the name of John, and at least he recommended he could schedule a repairman. The problem I told him is, the inside wall of my refrigerator has 2 cracks on the side, and a crack on the back wall. I dont want a repairman to come, just to tell me he cant put 2 new walls inside of my refrigerator. I could not find an email, so I could email Whirlpool about this problem, and definitely, they were of no help. I bought the refrigerator at Lowes late 2003. I have never, in my life, seen the inside walls of a fridge do this. I spent a lot of money for this, for it to crack on the inside walls. It does not seem like something is right with this.

Recently at completion of cycle, 2 of water remained on the bottom (still there.) NOT Even a 1 STAR!!! We spent A LOT of money on a Whirlpool Smart wall oven combo. It has only been installed for about 2 hrs. My husband and I have been trying to figure out why all the features on the Whirlpool app aren’t working. Most of our home has smart features and is connected to our phones so it’s not the fact that we aren’t tech savvy. I finally gave up and decided I’ll call customer service line about it tomorrow when they open. It’s Sunday night so every number we call says it’s outside of business hrs. Then excited to turn on the oven for the first time I turn the oven on and the noise that the fan is making is so loud you can’t even talk over it. The oven has been off for 15 min now but the noise continues. 3000.00 for a huge disappointment. Not to mention the thing is HEAVY. So the thought of us having to remove it and replace it with another does NOT make us happy at all. Best Buy or Whirlpool WILL be the ones doing that. For the trouble and money spent that’s the least they can do. Also family is coming into town for the holiday. We made sure to purchase way ahead of time to be sure we had it, installed it and can use it a few times to get the new smell out of it. Very very upset, angry and disappointed. Now it’s been 10 more minutes and the loud broken fan still won’t even turn off. Now we have to shut it off at the breaker. At this point I don’t think we will be even exchanging it for the same product. I knew we should have bought a Samsung!

Our countertop Whirlpool microwave oven is just over two years old and one of the led lights in the clock display just went out. The push-button opening mechanism is very hard to work and quite loud when the door is shut. When the timer is set but the start button is not activated for a few minutes, the door warning goes on and you have to reset the timer. There are five beeps that indicate when cooking is done and they continue even when the door is opened. The only way to stop them is to push the stop button and there is no way to adjust the noise level or number of beeps.

My refrigerator was purchased in May 2014, and died in August 2015. Before it died, it produced a very loud, rattling noise for two days. Thus, the refrigerator cost me $100/month. It does seem, upon reflection, I would have been better off buying a piece of junk for $50. It would have lasted longer. Additionally, the so-called stainless steel started rusting all over the front surface, first popping up in one spot, then another. One year old, rusty and dead. Great job Whirlpool. Buy American.

We have a Whirlpool Cabrio mod. WTW5600 XW2, ser. C12830447 he... H2O.. low wash system. Less than two years old. It does not get clothes or towels clean. I put 2 jackets in on bulky items and part of one of the jackets was still dry. They were two small childrens jackets. My husband and I wash as long as possible and on hot wash (which is not hot!). Should not take 70+ minutes to try & get normal clothes clean! Now the softener is draining into the wash with the detergent. Another service call. Learned you can only fill the softened bin half full or less. WHAT??? Our extended warranty is up soon and not sure what to do. We would like to get rid of this pile of junk but cant afford another washer bill. Also wouldnt want anyone else to get stuck with it. Its a shame a company cant put out #1 good product and #2 stand behind it. Bring all of the company production back to the USA or put out a better product and stop worshiping the almighty dollar. Im done with Whirlpool (which was the product to buy), but stuck with this washer for now until we are sure that the brand we buy performs as it should. What happened to the PRIDE in & RESPONSIBILITY of making a good product and standing by what youve made. As my hubby has said, if you have to buy an extended warranty, whats wrong with your product! Again worshiping the almighty dollar or is it you just dont care about the people who buy your product or its quality. Maybe both.P.S. Have contact you before without a response.

Good news is Whirlpool will replace the evaporator because, they know they have a problem with the part. Bad news is, they wont cover the labor which is $400.00. Freezer now fine. Whirlpool French Door Plus 3 drawers: This MSRP $3400 refrigerator has great features. Great ice makers. No issues up top. First 18 months were great. 4 repairs in the past 11 months. All freezer temp issues. We had noticed a number of ice sparkles forming on our unopened food. Frozen fruit was mushy. Temp usually read 0 degrees. One day I opened it and the temp was 40. Two hours later, it was close to 0. I started monitoring it closely. High temperatures occurred around noon. Zero degrees most of the time. After the third repair, service tech called Whirlpool and found part was redesigned. New part didn’t help. We understand the freezer has a heater in it, to defrost. The heater stays on too long. That explains why the freezer temp went as high as 50 degrees, while the fridge was perfect.I purchased this at Lowes. I always buy Lowes extended warranties. Thankfully, they bought back my 30 month old refrigerator. Kudos to Lowes warranty company. Never put on long holds. Fast response. I noticed the price for the warranty on refrigerators in this price range has increased by $100. Reflects a lot of repairs on refrigerator models. One thing though. I learned 3 repairs within a 30 day period is considered one repair, for purposes of their lemon policy. I will also add that the warranty company reimburses you 50% of the cost of filters. Simple process. I have read complaints that they make it too difficult to collect. That is just not true. Have been reimbursed $100 for filters to date. In 5 years, Even at the increased price, the savings will pay for the warranty. No brainer.

Whirlpool Cabrio washing machine - We purchased the (best name brand) from Get It Now and all we ever had was problems. We will fill the washer 1/2 full of clothes and the clothes on top would not even get wet. So we have to do it again, to make sure the rest of the clothes were washed. Many times there was white smudge marks on the clothes, sorta like powder (we use only liquid soap that you recommend). Today I washed a child’s bedspread for the 4th time because the stains would not come out (from a cookie). I had to turn the bedspread twice just to get it wet. I used bulk load and heavy duty load and it doesnt work. Your product is a very big disappointment for the price a person has to pay. I will recommend that no one purchase this product. Called support and they said they could send someone out in a little over a week (week with no hot water). The week goes by and on the day it was suppose to be repaired the guy calls and says his van broke down (this was a Friday, getting that early weekend). The earliest they can reschedule is in another week (over 2 weeks no hot water). Called Lowes to see if I can just return it (extended plan and all), no, you need a return code from the whirlpool customer support. Call the Whirlpool number again to ask for a return code, no, it is a repairable problem (even though no one will come repair it). Lesson learned, will never buy Whirlpool or anything over $50 from Lowes again.

We bought the Gold Series Whirlpool fridge (Model WRF990SLAM00) in December
We bought the Gold Series Whirlpool fridge (Model WRF990SLAM00) in December 2013. A few months after its first repair, (dripping on the top left inside of the fridge), which happened within the first year and was covered by the manufacturer’s warranty, it started to make an incredibly loud whirring sound that kept us up at night. Our bedroom is upstairs and far away from our kitchen, and I had to sleep with earplugs to not hear the noise. We tested the noise on a decibel app and it came in between 66-70. A normal fridge noise level should be around 52 decibels. We had a repairman come out and he replaced a fan even though he told me it wasnt going to fix the problem. Wait, what? After he replaced the fan and the whir continued, we called Lowes extended warranty again, and they sent out a different company: 1-800-Appliance.The second guy replaced two kits and found some issue with the ice maker, which we were not even aware of, but the noise remained, and he then had the gall to say it was a normal noise. If it was normal, wouldnt it have been making that noise the first year we had it? We had 1-800-Appliance come out again and he determined he couldnt fix it, so Lowes sent another guy from the same company, and he replaced the same fan that the first guy replaced, which was clearly not the problem. Three perfectly good fans were wasted. BTW, the repairman who said the noise was normal told us that the fridge had a part that was made to be replaced after purchase because if Whirlpool had the part at the point of sale, the fridge would not meet the Energy Star standards. Hello, lawsuit! After three repairs for the same problem and five visits that did not fix the problem, we were told Lowes would issue us a return order in three days. Finally! Not so fast... one week later, no one called, so I called them and then Lowes denied having told us that! We gave them the name of the person who told us they would take the fridge back, but the woman on the other end said she had no record of that (how convenient) and, despite the California lemon law requiring only three attempts at a repair, they would require yet another attempt by one of their repairmen. She told me that if he determined the noise was abnormally loud and not repairable, then she could contact the manufacturer and go from there. So they sent a guy from the first company out and he wrote down that the fridge was not repairable and was very noisy. He said that should take the fridge back at that point. My husband called Lowes several days later after not being contacted by them and they told him that they need to send a different repairman out from 1-800-Appliance and that only 1-800-Appliance could determine if we could get a refund. If that was true, then why send the other company out? By the way, the second guy sent out by 1-800-Appliance wrote down that the noise was very loud and wasnt fixed by his repair. But the notes Lowes said they received from him didnt say that at all. They told me that he wrote that the noise level was normal. I am starting to think there is collusion between Lowes and 1-800-Appliance. Something very wrong here. So, six visits later and horrible customer service from both Lowes and 1-800-appliance, we are now being told that the repairs need to be 30 days apart from each other before they will issue a return. If the cause of the noise was never actually repaired, then why do we have to wait a month between repairs? We continue to jump through the hoops that Lowes keeps throwing our way, but it is now clear that they have no intention of taking the fridge back. The fridge is less than two years old, and we have the extended warranty. We couldnt take the noise any further because it felt like it was causing hearing loss and after several months of that horrible sound we were both on edge, so we bought an amazingly quiet fridge from Pacific Sales, and they assured us that they would not do to us what Lowes did. Pacific Sales pride themselves with having good customer service. Lowes seems to have taken delight in lying to us, selling us a lemon, and then not righting a wrong. We have moved the loud piece of ** into our garage, and if Lowes continues to change the rules of a return and act in collusion with 1-800-appliance, probably in hopes that we will simply throw in the towel, then at least we dont have to hear that horrible sound in the meantime. If they dont do the right thing and take back the fridge, then we will simply keep calling out a repairman to fix the problem. We have three more years of our warranty, and if Lowes doesnt do the right thing, we will make them pay for this one way or another. Viva la revolucion!!

Moved into a house with a 2009 Gold Series Dishwasher model GU2475XTVY0. It has never worked since we moved in 3 years ago, always left dishes musty and poorly cleaned. We basically used it as a rinse/dry and pre-washed everything by hand. Even then it would mold up frequently and required manual cleaning. Total piece of junk, but looked really nice, stainless finish. Yeah.Latest chapter is it completely stopped working. Called a tech out for the usual $80+. His advice: this is a total lemon, and has been from the start. Not worth repairing. So Whirlpool, is this the standard you have now? 5-6 years for a dishwasher life cycle? Noted that my fridge is a matching 2009 Gold series, it has also had several problems with keeping a steady temp and has gone through 2 control boards at a hefty fee each. We purchased a new home April 2013. All our appliances were new Whirlpool stainless. Looked nice. After almost a year our microwave started acting improperly. Beeping, changing screens, not working when buttons pushed. Then the micro wave had a melt down and caused the glass try to break, parts to melt and caught fire internally melting plastic. Notified Whirlpool and they sent out individuals to repair. After several weeks the repair was completed and we were advised that they did not understand why this would or could happen. We should be fine now. Well we are now again having this unit beeping, changing screens, not working when tried, and when entering numbers, number and time are not what was trying to be entered. This unit my wife says is possessed and she wont use it. She fears it will burn the house down. It is Velos model TR 2 24 11000 serial number. It now beeps and changes with door open as I read the serial number.

I currently rent, and so when our literally 30-yr. old GE dishwasher broke down, our landlords went out and installed us a new Whirlpool Dishwasher. I was excited because FINALLY I would have clean dishes and a dishwasher that didnt leak a bucket of water all over the floor. Well, weve had it for about 6-8 months now and I have to say that I am not impressed. It is not as great as I thought itd be. First of all, my dishes still look cloudy (despite using various brands - even homemade - detergent). Second, one out of every three washes gives me still-dirty dishes (food still on them, even though I rinse before loading the dishes). Now, Im not talking about tough stuck-on, need a jack-hammer to remove food. Just normal food. Mostly it is oil, like if I had a plate that I had eaten French fries on and there was grease left behind that normal rinsing didnt remove. A new dishwasher SHOULD be able to clean that! Third, it guzzles Jet Dry liquid (or whatever rinse aid you use) like an alcoholic in a bar. I have used a BIG bottle in one month. One month. With the old 30 yr. old dishwasher, it took me around 2 YEARS to use a big bottle. And lastly, it takes F-O-R-E-V-E-R to wash a load. My old dishwasher took an hour tops - to rinse, wash, rinse, and dry - and it was 30 years old. This new Whirlpool takes 3 HOURS!!! I can literally hand-wash all of my dishes (and with a family of 4 thats a lot of dirty dishes in one day), sit them out to air dry, and take a nap and it take LESS TIME than using the dishwasher. The dishwasher has all the bells and whistles to make it look good, but trust me, if I could have had the 30-year old dishwasher rebuilt to newness, I would have begged my landlord to do that instead. Dont waste your money on Whirlpool appliances. I left another less than friendly review for my Whirlpool Cabrio washer (only 5 years old), if you care to see it. Learned my lesson, dont buy Whirlpool. So disappointed because they used to be (USED TO BE) a reputable dependable brand.

My new Whirlpool refrigerator has accumulated ice on the top of the freezer
My new Whirlpool refrigerator has accumulated ice on the top of the freezer compartment from day 1. I called Whirlpool and a repair was scheduled five weeks later September 12. The repair person said he needed a part and would order a new light switch and ice door parts from Whirlpool. Ten days later he came back with a new switch and instructions to file some plastic off the ice door part so it will close properly. It only partially worked; ice stopped forming in the ice chute but still formed on the top around the light switch. The new switch is not flush with the liner and the plastic liner has a small crack starting at the switch. How Whirlpool wants to cut out a six inch square of the liner including the switch and glue in a patch. This patch would only be warrantied for the balance of my one year warranty. I find this unacceptable and will complain to the store where I purchased the refrigerator.

I took the Sears salesmans suggestion and bought a high-end quiet dishwasher. It worked wonderfully until it sprung a major leak. Computer told me the phone # to call. It took a week for the Sears repairman to come out and $79 fee to just look at it. He said the fitting between the sump and the pump came off and flooded water over the electric motor. Electric motor is shot! Cost to repair is over $400 and a 3-week wait!!! When and if a new motor is installed, only then do we know if the computer is also fried. This was a high-end dishwasher. Factory warranty just ran out. Repairman said this is a common problem with this model. DO NOT BUY THIS MODEL.

Model # WRF990SLAM00 Ser# K23919328 - It should be possible to rate this piece of junk zero stars!! Purchased on Feb 2013, it is driving me and my wife insane. It is noisy compressor wise all the time (Our kitchen and living room in the townhouse are one room). The problems started after the hurricane in 2016 killed our power for three days. I had to shut the refrigerator down to manually defrost the freezer section because the fan on the fan-coil was hitting a huge accumulation of ice. Then the weird blackouts started approx once per month where the panel light as well as the interior lights went on and off every minute with that dreadful BEEP. This went on for over 24 hrs and made living in the same room HELL. The beep and three clicks happen every minute and the cooling is none. Whirlpool service came ($80.00) just to look at it and will come back with the rest of the bill which probably will be astronomical. I feel cheated big time!! Minute and the cooling has worsened big time. Whirlpool service came ($ 80.00) just to look at it and stated it needs a new computer board as well as a new front panel on the left door.

I purchased a Whirlpool washer, dryer and dishwasher in 2004. The dryer and washer paint is peeling off the appliance and is rusting underneath. The dishwasher has never dried the dishes appropriately, it takes a few days to completely dry the dishes. I have lodged this complaint with customer service, also. I have always purchased Whirlpool, but I will never again nor will anyone in my family. I feel that Whirlpool should at least look into the problems and not just verbally apologize. Janice **

The inside glass of the oven door shattered. I have not used the oven for months. Only the the top cooking burners have been used. Its a mystery to me!! I have read complaints where the glass shattered while the oven was in use or being cleaned, but have found none where this happened to a cold oven. The large front burner is too hot. Even on the lowest setting everything burns. You cannot simmer, only boil. The control knobs have (in my opinion) no safety mechanism. I thought that the control knobs on stoves needed to be child proofed, hard for a child to turn on. My last stove you had to push down quite hard then turn to the setting. Not this stove. I have to be so careful when Im cleaning the area around the knobs. The slightest pressure and the knob turns. When I first purchased the stove while cleaning it, I unknowingly turned the knob and the kitchen filled with gas before I realized what had happened. I called Whirlpool thinking something was broken. They sent out a repairman. Nothing was broken. That is the way it is made. Customer Service said they had had no other complaints about the knobs. I find that hard to believe. My toddler grandchild can turn on the stove with ease. Im sure other concerned parents etc. have had this complaint. To sum it up... I will probably never purchase a Whirlpool product again.

We ordered the Whirlpool 6.4 CuFt Electric Slide-in Range WEE745HOFS from Costco on 1/3/2017. It was delivered 2 weeks later. The FIRST time we turned on the oven the top heating element caught fire during the preheat and damaged the interior of the oven! The interior paint was completely burned off above the fire, exposing the raw metal. Costco called Whirlpool for us to ask for a replacement oven. Whirlpool refused. We called too. Whirlpool sent out a repairman who replaced the element and PAINTED the damage on the top of the interior. For weeks, every time we turned on the oven, the house filled with smokey paint fumes. I have a chronic lung disease (sarcoidosis) so the paint fumes were a serious problem. We stopped using the oven. Weve hardly used the oven since that time because we have a nice, large countertop oven. I turned on the Whirlpool oven again in January of 2018. The top element burned out AGAIN after less than a dozen uses! I was 2-3 days past the purchase date and again Costco tried to advocate for us but Whirlpool refused to help in any way.My next door neighbor purchased this exact oven two months before we did and she has had the SAME problems (and worse!) with NO help from Whirlpool! I have HATED this oven even though we mostly use the cooktop. A $1300 oven should NOT burn up an element in less than a dozen uses! The cooktop is very difficult to clean, scratches and stains easily. The trim and panel also scratch very easily. Yes, I did purchase the Whirlpool cleaning kit and follow all directions carefully. My next door neighbor says dont bother trying the Whirlpool Aqualift cleaning feature because it DOESNT WORK! She hates this oven too. By the way, ALL of my appliances are new Whirlpool appliances! So far the dishwasher is doing ok but the microwave is 4 months old and the door is not closing completely, so it has to be adjusted often or it clicks rather than cooking. VERY DISAPPOINTED IN WHIRLPOOL!

I purchased my water heater at Lowes and had it installed professionally. I suspected something was not quite right on numerous occasions because the hot water recovery time seemed excessive. I finally called Whirlpool and they gave me the names and numbers of two companies that were on their list. The first asked for the model number and normal information and never called back. The second showed up spent five minutes charged me 78 dollars and said they could not get the part (gas valve) I needed. And if I could get it from Whirlpool they would charge me 250 to put it on. They also said Whirlpool made horrible water heaters and I should save myself the trouble and just replace it. I have since heard from additional plumbers and the gas company to stay away from Whirlpool. I did have the water heater replaced. When they did it and they drained the old water heater it had so much sludge in it draining it was very difficult. The sludge is mystery since I have a softener in my home and it should have prevented that. The individual from that gas company said that was just one of the many issue others had experienced with these heaters.

I bought the HE Whirlpool Cabrio 2 years ago. It has all the bells and whistles, fancy cycles, etc. but doesnt clean ANYTHING. I have to wash three times to get things clean... So much for energy efficiency. It also gets out of balance with larger loads. What a waste of money and time.

This machine always leaves me questioning if its going to finish the cycle. It goes thru all kinds of spastic sounds in order to advance to the next step. I learned I cannot presoak a load more than 10 minutes before the machine empties ON ITS OWN! I just dont trust the machine and would not buy again.

I purchased the Energy Smart Gas Water Heater about a year and a half ago, intending to install right away as part of our upgrades. Just now, I was able to install this replacement to our 30-year-old water heater that was showing problems. When trying to start the unit, I kept getting the response that the lower sensor unit failed. We contacted plumbing companies. We were told they would not work on any Whirlpool models purchased from Lowe’s, because they were the worst hot water heater ever made. I called Whirlpool support. They wouldnt put me through to a tech support person until I was registered in the system. I gave up trying after many minutes of frustration.

We bought the Cabrio less than 5 years ago. First of all, a high-efficiency washer should not require an extra rinse after each wash, but this one does. I cant see how thats being efficient. The washer, even for a small load, can take up to 54 minutes, and then when you tack on an extra rinse, its well over an hour, so what you may be saving in water, youre spending in electric and wait time. And then, there is still a soap/water scum left on the clothes, which is only evident on the darker clothing. Now, just recently, the washer is stopping, and NOT unlocking after about a minute into the start cycle. I will have to cancel the wash, turn it off and unplug it before I can get it opened. Im sure its something to do with the electric panel, which after reading the reviews, we are not going to fix, and we are headed out to buy the traditional top loader, NOT high efficiency, which I suspect will still be more efficient than the Cabrio.

Ive had this dishwasher for 1 yr and 4 months. Its been used properly and kept clean. The motor quit. A dishwasher that only lasted a little over a year. Cheap piece of junk. I spent over $800.00 with installation. I will never buy a Whirlpool dishwasher again. Try and call Whirlpool and someone in India will politely read from a manual and waste your time. Useless!!!

Purchased this set in January of this year 2016. The loudness of this machine struck me first along with the constant banging of the pipes in the basement when filling with warm water. The agitator is very loud. Thought I was trading up from a 10 year old Whirlpool front loader set. There is hardly any water in the washer when running a full load. I take clothes out that are not only a twisted tight mess but in some spots are not even wet!!! The dark clothes inevitably need to be rewashed because there is white residue on them!!! I have used the pods and liquid and it doesnt seem to matter, happens with both. Customer service has no answers and say theyve never heard this before. How can this washer wash clothes when there is no water and little if any movement of clothes??? And how is it that we are all saying the same exact things and Whirlpool is not being held accountable??? I DONATED my working fine set to a dog rescue and am now stuck with a brand new machine that works PERFECTLY HORRIBLY. So who is watching you Whirlpool???
