Cabrio Washing Machine - I purchased my washer and dryer in May of 2008. I had problems with sheets, towels and pants getting very twisted and tangled, but I just attributed that to a design flaw. My problems really began in January 2013 when loads were not level all the time. It didnt matter if it were 1 shirt or a load of towels; you had to stand by the machine and it took forever to finish a cycle. On 1/11/13, the first repair was the rods that kept the drum stable. $260.82 later, it worked again. On 2/16/13, the washer quit working. On 2/18/13, the repairman was back out. It needed a lid lock switch. It was $87.14 that time and he would be back when the part arrives ... There was still no washing machine. On 2/21/13, he returned with the lid switch and replaced it. That was $178.04 but wait, there were still other error codes so there was no working machine.I refuse to pay anymore as I now fear I will be buying a new machine after spending over $500 in less than 6 weeks, but Whirlpool did the right thing when I called and they agreed to repair the machine. They wanted a different company to come diagnose the problem (the machine gave an F50 and F51 error code to the repairman here on the 21st), so I have to wait for another repairman to come and look at the same codes flashing on the LED readout. On 3/1/13, the A&E repairman that Whirlpool sent out arrived at my house. I have been without a washer since the 16th of February. He diagnosed the problem and said that it is a $1,000 repair! I called Whirlpool and asked for a new machine, instead of throwing more money at this one. They informed me that if I didnt like their offer, they wont do anything then. I agreed to the repair.Parts started arriving at my house. On 3/13/13, another A&E repairman came out and started to fix the machine. He informed me that there was more wrong than the first guy thought, but he had the circuit boards so he would get it going. On 3/24/13, the washer quit working again and was flashing an F51 error code. This is the biggest piece of junk I have owned in my life. I have missed 5 half days of work since January and there is no end in sight. Why is Whirlpool allowed to get away with such an inferior machine?

We purchased this one (Wall Mount Model # WMH76719CS) on July 30, 2015. About one month ago I started noticing that a simple large cup of water to make tea or instant coffee takes more than 2 minutes on power 10 to heat up enough. It used to take about 1 1/2 minutes. Now, Im no mathematician, but I believe thats about 25% power loss in 6 months. The same applied to any convection dinner Ive tried to cook lately. Im going to say that Im dissatisfied with the convection feature and would rather just bake the silly food in the regular oven as usual. Any planned-overs trying to re-heat is taking much longer as well as melting butter. I do not have much confidence in Whirlpool microwaves right now, and may never again.

Sole owner/operator for 6 years using same products that came packed with dishwasher. Bottom rack has simply crumbled away, prong by prong at first and now large sections. Inferior quality of coating and metal used for the forms, means it wont withstand the daily use for which a dishwasher is intended. Worst quality control ever!!

Microwave Model # MH1150XMB# - I have had this microwave for 6 and 1/2 years. It came with the condo I purchased. Shortly after I moved in, I noticed hairline crack in the frame near the handle. I have replaced this door once and now the second door has done the same exact thing - formed these hairline cracks in the door frame. This is a defective product and needs to be taken care of by Whirlpool. But you keep denying the problem. No one can afford to replace a door every year. The microwave still works, but the door has fallen apart. The remainder of the microwave works fine.

In January 2021 I purchased a front load Whirlpool washer and matching dryer. They were delivered on February 6 2021. The first load we found water on the floor. I thought I didnt close the detergent drawer so I proceeded with the next load. Again I found water this even through the ceiling tile in room below. So with the next load I sat in laundry room to see what was happening. When on the rinse cycle water shoots out the front of the dispenser drawer.Contacted service, they sent repair man. He ordered new parts and I waited over 3 weeks for next repair call to find out that whirlpool had part all along. Repair man came again and still no resolution to issue. He was told to order same parts again - still no resolution yet again. I fought with Whirlpool till they said they would give me a new machine. Now fighting because delivery people wont uninstall 1st washer and install new machine. Today is June 28 2021 and I still DONT HAVE A WASHER TO USE. I havent even used the dryer yet. I have $3400 and numerous hours with Whirlpool trying to resolve this issue! Can you help? Whirlpool continues to string us along, telling us to be patient, theyre doing their best.

I bought a Whirlpool Gold refrigerator in 2010 from Lowes. Within months it had a Freon leak and Lowes had to replace it. I had bought the extended warranty. In 2011 a part had to be replaced twice due to excessive noise. Then the freezer got frost buildup on a coil in 2012 and again in 2014. I called Whirlpool and asked if they would pay for my next 3 year warranty. They said no, it was my responsibility after the first year. I would never buy a Whirlpool product . Do research, Whirlpool makes several brands.

I bought my Cabrio washer about 3.5 years ago. Little after the year, I had to replace the lid because the hinge broke. Then came the F1 code, which I noticed if you turn the machine off for a couple of minutes, it resets itself. About a week ago, it started making a grinding noise and staining the clothes with oil or grease. Transmission problems. I was told by the seller it had a 10 year warranty. I called them up and now I got to foot the bill for a technician to come to my house and tell me what I already know plus labor. Might as well buy a new one. Beware because I believe Kenmore is manufactured by the same company.

Whirlpool Cabrio Elite Top Loading Washer Model WTW8240YW - I add my complaint to the roughly 2000 others about this machine and Whirlpool. Two months after the warranty expired the machine started making a loud noise on the spin cycle. I called a repairman and he said it was the main bearing going bad and this was a common problem with this model. He recommended buying a new washer rather than repairing the unit because the cost to repair was greater than what I paid for the washer. I called Whirlpool and all they offered was to send a repairman at my cost. This is terrible service for a documented problem that they have. I will buy a new washer but it will not be a Whirlpool!

My comments are similar to all the other comments on here regarding the Whirlpool Cabrio washer: I bought a Whirlpool Cabrio 5 years ago and have been sorry every wash day since. I have to wash my clothes twice because the machine doesnt fill the tub with enough water to get the clothes clean. I have tried using the bulky setting for all loads to try to get the water level high enough to at least cover the clothes. This is a terrible design and the worst piece of junk. I will never buy a Whirlpool product again...

We bought Whirlpool duet front loading washer and matching dryer. In 3 years the water level seemed like it was off. Clothes, especially towels were coming out stinky. Eventually you could hear the clothes were merely flopping around wet. Before we could order the repair part it completely quit and locked our clothes into it. I washed my clothes at my daughters house for a week and dried them at home. Within the week the dryer quit. Not having the money to repair both machines, my son gifted me a set of top loading washer/dryer. Again Whirlpool. In a week we had repair service out. They replaced everything possible and it still didnt work right. Since the 90 days from purchase was approaching we returned it to the store and they had Whirlpool send us a brand new dryer. This one worked for a month then stopped spinning. I havent called for service yet because now with 3 broken machines I am so disgusted. When I think about them I feel like I am going to puke. My washing machine shouldnt be the worst thing in my life, especially since it was a lovely gift from a wonderful son.

We purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio washing machine in September 2006, and have had nothing, but problems. I constantly have to get online to check error codes. Several months ago, the washer just stopped working. We called Whirlpool technical support. They said wed have to pay for a repair. After several calls to Whirlpool for help, I found online references to a recall for the same problem. Whirlpool NEVER mentioned that the washer was recalled for the very same problem. I called them back with the recall information, and they politely sent someone out to rebuild the washer. Less than a year later it is no longer working, again. I went online first this time, to check for further recalls and complaints about the current problem (faulty control panel). I found many complaints about the same problem--even a reference to a class action law suit. Whirlpool said they were unaware of the problem, didnt have many complaints, and are unwilling to help. I asked for a supervisor, Benjamin, and he said there was NO means by which I could further escalate my complaint.

I purchased a $950 whirlpool refrigerator from Lowes in Tucson. 2 months after the 1 yr warranty expired, I paid $450 in repair bills to have it fixed. After 9 months of visits by the repairman and loss of hundreds of dollars in spoiled food, they deemed my fridge unrepairable. Then Whirlpool called me and said they would exchange my fridge for a better one for $688. My loss is now up to approx. $2000 counting spoiled food.

My Whirlpool dishwasher is only 2.5 years old. The first 1.5 years we were not full time in the house, so the dishwasher has not been used much. The touch pad went bad already and it was $450 to fix. Whirlpool sent me an email after I vented and it was a cookie cutter reply. They dont care that the appliance was manufactured with a faulty pad. We never buy service agreements because we feel an expensive item like this should last the term of service agreement if made correctly. No more Whirlpool purchases for us!

Well, this saga continues. Whirlpool dishwasher was purchased at the HH Gregg on Rockville Road on March 17, 2012. Whirlpool dishwasher broke down on May 17, 2012. I bought the extended warranty but who cares? HH Gregg doesnt because it does not go into effect until a year after purchase. So since its less than year, I called Whirlpool, who sent someone out a week later, who, of course, cannot fix the brand new dishwasher because 2 parts had to be ordered. This was almost 2 weeks ago! I still have not heard from the company, A & E, who works for Whirlpool here in Indy. Whirlpool called me on Monday to tell me theyre sorry and blah, blah, and will try to find part in five more days. Then ship it to me, and, of course, it will probably take another week for the maintenance man to fix it. I mean, I grew up having to wash dishes by hand, so no big problem. But when you spend $600 to $800 for a supposedly nice product to enjoy the leisure time of your life and get extended warranties, you expect it to work for at least 6 months before breaking down. So be warned. Do not buy Whirlpool, and furthermore, beware of buying extended warranties and appliances at HH Gregg.

We purchased the Whirlpool model# BFG1J4040T3NOV 40 gallon natural gas hot water tank in the spring of 2010. The pilot light went out this weekend, 2011. And it will re-light but does not stay lit. This was bought at Lowes, rated as a 9-year warranty on the tank and parts. This is premature failure of a product that is listed as 9 years. Due to all the other similar complaints of this Whirlpool hot water tank, I would like my money back plus installation. I do not want the Whirlpool replacement as obviously it does not work. I will use a different brand and vet it much better in the future. We almost purchased at Home Depot but decided it would be a better bet to go with the Whirlpool reputation and name and Lowes than with the only Home Depot option, which is the self branded water heaters. It was a big mistake!

Im 61 so I have some experience. I personally know fridges that have lasted over 20 years. I just Googled it and found out the norm is 14 to 17 years. This hunk of crap lasted 4 years. As soon as I got it home and plugged it in (4 yrs ago) the most noticeable thing was the noise. It sounded like a tractor! I considered taking it back (wish I did). Then after a couple of years the pull handle came off! The whole time we had to be careful the door was closing properly. It was problematic. Ive owned (and re-sold) about a dozen fridges in my life. This the first one to fail on me. It was bad from day one!

Whirlpool Range Model XFE381LVS - 12/13/2014 4:30PM Wife was cooking dinner and turned oven on. Smoke started coming out of the back and called me. I ran to the breaker panel and turned off the breaker. Back to the stove, pulled it out and smoke still coming out in back at the top. I could see fire in the top of the back panel. Slowly the fire went out. Unplugged the stove, I removed the back panel, wires were still smoldering and the Control panel was burned thru. Took pictures so I could contact Whirlpool Monday. The Electrical control panel is destroyed as well as many wires. Glad we were home and oven was not left on while we were out in the yard or Home could have been destroyed. Horrible customer service. No help in trouble shooting your the appliance. Whirlpool only wanted to send a service technician. Several things have gone wrong with this dishwasher that came brand new, in a brand new house. After the year warranty is up, forget about any help from whirlpool. I would hope you would not have to purchase extended warranties on any new appliance but that doesn’t seem to be the case. My dishwasher was only three years old and on its way to dishwasher heaven. I was told by a repairman that whirlpool had a problem with their motors. Whirlpool would not confirm or deny this. I felt like I was really taken.

I bought a 40-gallon hot water heater in November 2007. First problem I had with it was in 2009 when the pilot wouldnt stay lit. They sent me a requisition number to take to Lowe’s to pick up the part (igniter) and gave me a service number to give to the plumber to fix it. Plumber actually told me these heaters were junk and this wasnt the last problem Id have. Last Sunday (January 2012)--here we go again. Pilot went out and wont stay lit. Whirlpool is telling me its because I have a draft. Yeppers, that must be it because after they had me (arthritic 53-year old) and my disabled husband performing circus acts trying to relight it, then it was the filter on the bottom, then it was a draft. Last time I tried to light, which really someone as blind and disabled as me shouldnt be doing anyway, I about blew up. I hate getting ** by big corps. I filed a complaint with state Attorney General. If that doesnt work, hell, I think Ill take both Whirlpool and Lowe’s to small claims court. What do I have to lose? $35? Their fancy-schmancy lawyers will probably charge them a couple grand for their efforts. Im sick and tired of getting the short end of the stick. Since when is a hot water tank supposed to last a mere 4 years? Oh, by the way, Whirlpool says it’s all on me now--well see about that. First of all, both of these chumps just lost a customer and I Facebooked by friends about this pleasant experience plus included a link to this page. Consequences are all mine, I guess. Its pretty swell bathing in a sink full of water that you heated on the stove. I dont have any money because Im too busy giving it all to big insurance and big pharma right now. What a country!

We purchased Whirlpool Cabrio Washer WTW5600 series in October of 2010. I bought the machine from Sears and also bought the extended warranty. Less than 6 months after I had been using it, I noticed that all my husband’s shirts were getting sweat stains under the arms and my hand towels were very smelly after drying with them one time. I called Sears to have someone come out and tell us what the problem was. He said I was using too much detergent so I reduced the amount of what I was using. It did not help the problem so I started using the extra rinse each time I washed, still did not fix the problem. I called them out 3 more times in 2011. One tech told me I was still using too much detergent so I reduced down to 1 tablespoon like he suggested. I stopped using softener in my washer because he said I needed to clean my machine more than one time a month, to clean it every 3 weeks. No solution to the problem still. I have had a tech from Sears and one from Whirlpool (who incidentally was the same man, he was from A&E Appliances). When he came in the door, my husband told him he had been here before and I said 2 times. He lied and said he had not been out before. Are we blind? No. He ran the cycle but sat in his truck while he was running it. None of the techs have ever put a tool on the machine to check if the water level is right. They just stand there and tell us to change the amount of detergent or clean the machine with Clorox more often. I cleaned it 8 days in a row and the clothes still smell and still do not get cleaned. We talked to main man at Whirlpool and said they couldnt do anything because their 1 year warranty had run out. We have been using Whirlpool appliances for over 30 years but I will not ever buy another one. I have probably had 5 Whirlpool washers over the years but never had a problem until we got this Cabrio top loader without an agitator. I would not recommend this washer to my worst enemy, if I had one.

I saw on the Today Show that my Whirlpool Duet washer, purchased in 2008 was a mold-producing nightmare. We are now part of a class action lawsuit that seeks redress. When I called Whirlpool Customer Service, I was fed the company line that the problem is that we dont clean the machine regularly. The instructions call for monthly maintenance, but the rep said we need to wipe it dry after each use. This is an original defect in the machine that Whirlpool refuses to own up to. So, I have a house full of relatives from out of town staying over and as luck would have it, my Whirlpool water heater (model # BFG1F4033T3NOV) which I had installed 15 months ago, decided to stop working. The pilot light went out and would not stay lit no matter how long I held the red restart button. I called Whirlpool customer service and was informed straight away that their computer system was down and they wouldnt be able to order parts if I needed them (great start right?). I explained to the woman on the phone what my issue was and also told her that after searching online, Ive found that this is a common failure with these hot water heaters that Lowes sells where the thermal couple is defective and needs to be replaced. She began to inform me that before any parts was ordered (which she couldnt do because the computers were down), I would have to clean the vent openings on the bottom of the HW heater. No big deal. Then, Id have to have my gas line pressure verified by my gas company (what?). If both were found to be fine, Id have to confirm that my flue is at least three feet above my roof line before they would send me parts to repair my unit. This is about where I lost my mind.I run the RMA/Customer service department in my company and if anyone has issues with our products, we ship first and ask questions later. How can a company with known defective products give their customers the runaround and basically tell them that they are screwed until they can take off time from work for a gas co. to come to their home and will also have to have flue replaced before theyll warranty their product?! Whirlpool should be ashamed of themselves and Lowes should distance themselves from such a crappy company with substandard products and shoddy warranty practices. Ill never buy another Whirlpool product as long as I live and will warn anyone away from this company.

I have owned the machine for 1yr and 6 months, bought new from reputable company. The washer always had kind of a clunk sound which the manual says is normal. Clothes would have white marks and streaks after was but disappear when dry. Clothes would seem damp, never like they were completely washed. Went to do a load last night and thats when it stopped working. Powered on, cycle selection was fine, lid locked, typical clunk noise, then nothing, no water. Paused the cycle, lock lid light flashed but didnt unlock. Machine powered off on its own and unlocked. I powered it back on after 30 minutes and it wouldnt let me change the cycle, panel selection was frozen. So I powered it off and contacted repair. They think its the water inlet? Pending repair to see for sure. This is not OK! I had an older machine from the 90s that was still working before I bought this one. So sad to have this type of product from this company.

He didnt have the parts to repair it so he left to order some parts that he thought might be the problem. When the repairman returned two weeks later with the parts, he replaced a door switch. The oven started to work. About 4 days later it quit working again. The repairman returned for the third time, tried repairing the oven and was unable. I had to help him remove the oven so he could take it home with him so he could try to repair it. At that time I was so angry that the Whirlpool co. would send a repair man out three times to repair something that was obviously junk. When I talked to the people at Whirlpool they told me all they were authorized to do was repair it. I explained the repairman has tried three times and couldnt and that they in good faith replace the unit. The answer I received had to come from a mentally challenged person. If this is the response of Whirlpool about their product, then I want no part of them in the future.

Most of my appliances are Whirlpool - dishwasher, refrigerator, clothed dryer and the Cabrio washer. The washer before this one, I had it for over 10 years and replaced it because of rust (thats another problem with Whirlpool - rust). Now the Cabrio hasnt got all kinds of problems - UL, F1 and jumping. The serviceman asked me for $450 for repair; it included a set of springs for the drum, a new electronic board and a 30-day warranty on parts and labor. Im better off buying a new one (I cant afford at this moment). My wife is scared of the darn thing and refuse to use it so now I have the job of washing and standing guard to make sure the washer doesnt leave the garage. Thank you, Whirlpool - and my refrigerator works fine all rusted.

What can I say. Pretty much a generic refrigerator that is manufactured and sold under various brand names. Nothing special. Keeps food cold. Ice maker takes too much freezer space but thats typical. Interior LED lights failed after a few months. Flicker sometimes. Out other times. Internet research finds this to be a common problem. Zero quality in Whirlpool appliances. I bought four Whirlpool kitchen appliances and ALL have had problems. The only way to own them is with a 5 year extended warranty.

Cabrio washer and dryer are not energy saver by any means! Have had the pair for almost 1 year and have spent at least 3 years of washing and drying time with these. What use to take 30 minutes to wash now takes at least 48 or more and the dryer has to be run twice on lots of loads to dry! The other thing is, with no water in the tub it really does not have a soak cycle to get really dirty stuff clean, so you wash things 2 or 3 times! Now I know why I see these washers and dryers like new in the used stores for $200 to $300. Thanks for the junk Whirlpool.

I purchased this Whirlpool WTW7800XW2 washer expecting it to last many years. As a senior citizen, I spent well over $700 on this model because of its large capacity and water saving feature. It has been in service for just over two years and has had limited use. Last week the glass top popped up and I notice that it broke at the hinge. This is definitely a design flaw. The washer has a lock feature and with the broken top, it is useless. I called Whirlpool and the customer service rep said she could sell me a new $250.00 lid at a 25% discount. Looking online, I found that hundreds of consumers have this same problem. Whirlpool refuses to acknowledge the defect. The customer service rep indicated that I should have bought an extended warranty. This is my last Whirlpool appliance ever!

We purchased a Whirlpool refrigerator because of the brand in August of 2011. Its December 2012, the entire door needs to be replaced. It appears the cost will be as much as the original $750 investment! We called Whirlpool expecting they would stand behind their brand after hardly 18 months, but no ... It is clearly a defective door to begin with.

I purchased the Cabrio washer and dryer 4 years ago and had no problems until recently. The motor and the harness broke and the cost to repair was almost as much as a new washer. The repairman told me that this is a common problem with all washers that Whirlpool makes as they have the same motor and harness. He gave me a list of all the brands that they make and suggested if I buy one to get an extended warranty. I would not recommend anyone buy an appliance from a company that continues to manufacture faulty products. I wonder if they own the extended warranty company?

A-10 error on display ultimately means needs a new pump. The washer (model WFC7500VW 2) is 3 months, 9 days old and is now unusable. I cannot get any service (under 1-year manufacturers warranty) because the sticker inside the door with the model and serial # is missing (i.e., it was sold to me by Homedepot.com without a serial # on the door label, sticker is intact and is brand new and apparently was printed without a serial #).I made multiple calls to Whirlpool in Benton Harbor, Michigan and finally spoke with Courtney (who states she was a supervisor) pretty much said all they will do is to reprint a label from the factory and I should have it in 7-10 business days. They refuse to stand behind their product and authorize timely repair of their product they sold to my without a serial # on the door tag from the factory. I have to wait to schedule factory warranty repair until I get the new label (probably 3 weeks plus without a usable washer). Courtney refused to contact me via email for any of her contact information or to supply verification of conversation or promise of a new factory label. Also, she refused to try to authorize any type of manufacturers warranty to fix the brand new unusable washer!

I will never purchase another Whirlpool product.

As you have heard from 700 other people we bought a whirlpool refrigerator because GE sucks, brand new refrigerator died in 4 years with 4 service bill costing more than the refrigerator. So we did some research and whirlpool was being recommended by several stores and the reviews were better than most. Well we bought the Whirlpool refrigerator and it has been nothing but problems from the start. Everything that can go wrong has and of course our warranty ran out. And we are sitting here with no water, no ice, water tray falls out and breaks. Called whirlpool many times and their answer every time is, we will send someone out for you, and then we get a 300 to 400 dollar bill. Whirlpool sucks as bad as GE. Its crazy these companies get away with this crap. They can build good refrigerators they have in the past. My grandparents have one for 25+ years, now you cant get 2 years out of them. Pure Junk! I dont know what a good brand is anymore, they all seem to suck. Good luck.

I wish I had known about this website before my purchase & been able to read the reviews. This washing machine is the worst appliance I have ever purchased. The clothes get clean SOMETIMES. It takes FOREVER to do a normal size load of wash. I will have to think long and hard before ever buying a Whirlpool appliance again. I cant believe you ever made such an inferior product. WHIRLPOOL WASHER FOR SALE! Your clothes will come out just a bit dirty, but thats OK isnt it? (You can see for yourself.) Oh yeah the Smell. OMG, its a heavenly Wet Dog smell. I know youll be as happy as I am with this WHIRLPOOL CABRIO WASHER. I almost forgot to mention, that most clothes will come out dry (not because of the high power spinning cycle) so youll save on your power bill, since you’re not using the dryer... This is a must have WHIRLPOOL CABRIO WASHER - NEW, ENERGY EFFICIENT. Youll use little to no water, another savings! But youll spend a wee bit more for the HE detergent, sorry! Oh yeah I forgot to mention its still under WHIRLPOOL 1 YEAR WARRANTY. Youll BE GLAD YOU PURCHASED THIS WONDERFUL MACHINE... Just as I am! :-)Back ground & Information about problems: A) We purchased the Cabrio Model# WTW5840BW0 washer 8 months ago and it has been nothing but trouble. And yes Im very busy in the summer - always on the go with school, kids, vacation, homework, finals, and work, etc. For the past 2.5 months. Started off by not spinning out, first problem. Does not fill up on deep washer cycle. Clothes come out as dirty as when I put them in. I have pictures. Some clothes never get wet; no water touches them (Small/Large loads). Now whites are coming out with yellow blotches on them. The clothes smell like Wet Dog - yes wet dog. Ive used the Powerball cleaner three times in 8 months. Yes, a service man has been out. He recalibrated everything. Now it’s worse. He is/has ordered ALL new computer parts, and I do mean ALL. If you need to replace every computer part on a brand new machine, I feel as if this alone, is a red flag… Wouldnt you agree?Im not happy with your Whirlpool Cabrio Washer and no longer want this washer. Maybe a different one, but not this one! It has been nothing but a headache. What can be done? Ive called Whirlpool USA 4-5 time being on endless hold @ the 800-253-1301 number and finally today is the first time talking to a rep. The young man was nice; however Im still no closer to getting this machine fixed today! Ugh. I would not recommend the CABRIO WASHER to anyone at this point. You can understand, cant you? B) Sad ;-( I had to tell my husband he was right and I was wrong about the new washer, and not to mention the smell he has been complaining about. Yuck...Explanation: I had washed towels in the new WHIRLPOOL and did not get around to folding them. Then after washing last night outside (yes outside) in the ole GE. I was folding the towels and happened to pick up the first set washed (Whirlpool); put them to my face and sniffed, yuck! WET DOG came to mind. Then sniffed the ones washed in the GE and he was right. I was wrong! Ugh... A $800+ Whirlpool is in the laundry room yet, Im outside on the deck - again yes Im hanging out with the mosquitoes on our deck washing clothes with the good ole GE. (It’s outside because it need a shutoff switch, or something like that.) Lesson learned the expensive way, dont buy a computerized Whirlpool washer. Its money down the drain... Needless to say Im not happy at all with this product.

We purchased this washer (Whirlpool Cabrio) about two months ago and we have been extremely dissatisfied with its performance. Quite simply, it does not get clothes or anything else clean! I have tried every possible setting and still the dirt remains on anything that is even slightly soiled. So, I cant believe that things that dont look dirty are getting cleaned either. They probably arent even getting rinsed, even with the extra rinse option. It seems almost nobody likes this machine, so why is Whirlpool risking their formerly sterling company reputation by keeping it on the market? I would be happy if I could return it to the store for a refund, but that is not a possibility as far as I can tell. If you are considering buying this machine - dont!

We hate the matching Cabrio washer dryer bought in 2011: Dryer lower blower went out after 18 months in service. The day it went out whirlpool sent me the extended warranty offer. Warranty had expired 6 months prior. I renewed for 12 months and promptly called for a repair. Cost was approximately $450.00, all covered under the newly paid for warranty. I dodged a bullet there. Washer has the splintering fiberglass around the top. Lower bearing is out and sounds like a freight train coming out of the laundry room. Not going to have it repaired. Purchased my first Whirlpool refrigerator, model WRF989SDAM00, in 2012. Six service calls later, Whirlpool replaced it with the same exact model. I am now on my 4th service call with the 2nd refrigerator because of dripping ice maker, fan going out in freezer, condensation continually dripping on everything in the refrigerator. Finally, last week, I had enough & wrote certified letters to Whirlpools corporate offices, the service company they sent out to fix it, which was a nightmare by the way and the Better Business Bureau. I am still without a working refrigerator after two months!!!This is two lemons that Whirlpool has sold me in less than two years and the service has been horribly unacceptable!!! Whirlpool WRS965CIAM - Consumer beware is what weve learned. Whirlpool has apparently not monitored the hundreds of complaints about this particular refrigerator model. Its sleek and pretty and has a ton of features and I was very excited about purchasing it. We havent moved into our home yet, but turned the refrig on the next weekend after closing, started painting rooms, even had some nice ice water. I came back next day to a very large amount of water all over my hardwood floors. We are talking bath towels. Who would know you are supposed to call Whirlpool directly? We sure didnt. We called Hart Appliances, where we purchased it from. They gave us a number to call for service on Monday. The repair guy came, didnt have what he needed, so he came back later in the afternoon and fixed it, until we came back next morning and the floor was again flooded... Again, we are talking bath towels. I called them back and was told it needed a part, that took 4 days to come. Its here today but they are not coming until Monday to fix. Customer service at Whirlpool has no record of calling out a serviceman. They wont have info until problem is fixed. According to folks on the internet sites, that could be months or never! Okay, ladies... am I ever going to trust that this refrig will ever be fixed? I wont dare go away for a weekend without fear it will leak all over my floors and ruin them. We were going to purchase a chest freezer and small full fridge for drinks and overflow to keep in the garage. Instead, thats where this fridge will end up. Expensive lesson learned. Whirlpool doesnt replace brand new, out of the box, defective refrigerator. Whirlpool also doesnt admit there are complaints out there... Customer service person told me she had no record of complaints... I said when we get off the phone... GOOGLE WRS965CIAM and you will be amazed. My next complaint is going to Consumer Reports. We bought the magazine and followed the advice. Id like to think we just got a lemon, but there are too many complaints out there for that to be the case!

Whirlpool Cabrio washing machine: The washer was purchased in March of 2012 and malfunctioned in December 2014. After phoning Whirlpool, the machine was scheduled for repair with a factory-authorized company. The first repair attempt was unsuccessful due to a lack of parts. It took 10 days for the parts to arrive, and another unsuccessful repair attempt was made. The verdict is that a new motor control board, costing $350 plus labor, is necessary. With the delay in service and cost of repairs, I may as well buy a new machine.

My wife and I purchased the Whirlpool French Door Bottom Mount Refrigerator in April 2013. Thank God we purchased the extended warranty. In June 2014 the ice maker quit working and delivering water. We have had the service contractor that WHIRLPOOL has qualified for all repairs. They have set up FIVE appointments to resolve the issue, all of which I had to leave work to meet because they do not provide any scheduled service outside the hours of 8am to 4pm. The first time they came the service man told me that WHIRLPOOL RECOGNIZES THERE IS A DESIGN FLAW BECAUSE THESE ARE NOTORIOUS FOR FREEZING UP AND NOT WORKING. I asked the repair man if there has been a recall because of this, he said no because WHIRLPOOL WILL JUST REPAIR THE ONES PEOPLE COMPLAIN ABOUT! I called Whirlpool headquarters today. The advisor said he will register my complaint. I asked, Is that it? What does that mean? He said, I cant tell you what happens after I register the complaint. I WILL NEVER PURCHASE ANOTHER WHIRLPOOL PRODUCT. I hope this may help someone NOT make the same mistake. If you need to talk to someone in upper level management to discuss your issue, forget it...they want the position but no accountability.

We purchased a Whirlpool washer model WTW7500 in November of 2017. I found the clothes were not getting clean and also noticed that even after a full wash some parts of the clothing or sheets had dry spots! I checked all connections and called for service. As soon as the serviceman saw the machine he said, “yes, that’s a problem with those machines”. They are low water/water saving as per some American regulation and that’s what happens... you’re going to have to live with it. He also suggested running an extra rinse and using “deep water” function. I did this and it made very little difference except now a wash cycle for bedding is 104 minutes! Also, still had a big dry spot on my sheets! When I called again to Whirlpool they scheduled another repairman for a second opinion, turned out to be the same person with the same answers... I called Whirlpool again and was informed that my washing machine is working as designed! I argued that a washing machine is designed to wash and clean clothes so this one does not do what it is designed for... I spoke to the supervisor, she was actually just rude, also said I not had 30 days to make a complaint and I was outside of that, when I asked to speak to her supervisor she said there was no one above her although she denied being the owner of Whirlpool! (That’s my little joke). Anyway wish someone had warned me prior to this purchase.

Whirlpool WRF 990SLAM00 - Im 62, I have owned, and my family has owned a number of refrigerators and never have had any problems. I have been used to my refrigerators and major appliances lasting 15 plus years without any problems. I mostly bought Maytag washers and GE kitchen appliances. I had trouble with a GE dishwasher, out of warranty, but GE was very nice about it and came out and fixed it at no charge, then replaced it for free when it failed again. (No new problems in 4 yrs.). Then I made the big mistake of going with Whirlpool products in my new house in Florida, where I live half the year. What a mistake. First there was the Cabrio washer. After 1 yr and a week, It would not go to the spin cycle. I called Whirlpool, they said, Sorry, out of warranty. I told them, I only live in this place for half the year, so I have hardly used the machine. The Whirlpool person said, Sorry out of warranty. I asked for a supervisor and they were worse than the first person. The attitude was screw you, you should have bought the extended warranty. I called a repairman who fixed it for 150 dollars. During the spin cycle it gets really loud, but at least it works. Then the refrigerator. I arrived back in FL and the 1.5 year old refrigerator was not cooling. I called Whirlpool and said I needed a repairman. They said, Out of warranty, you can buy an extended warranty for 345 dollars. I said, No, a refrigerator should not fail at 1.5 years, send a repair man. He was great, but said the unit had a Freon leak somewhere in the box that was un-repairable. He told me, You need a new refrigerator. I will now call Whirlpool and see what they will do for me, but I expect little based on my experience with the washer, and others comments above. I will go back to all GE products after this as at least they seem to stand behind their products. Oh, and since Whirlpool now owns Maytag, as Whirlpool owns them now. Sad.

Bought a whirlpool refrigerator in 2015, have had both handles replaced 3 times, the bottom pieces of the handles are made of plastic and they crack. We had to take them to a metal fabricator and have them replaced with metal to keep them from breaking. Lowes and whirlpool know of this problem and they do nothing about it. Will not buy another whirlpool product. Very dissatisfied.

Our 27 cubic foot BLACK French Door refrigerator is freezing up again for the 4 or is it 5 time. We are now told they will give us a replacement and to go to the website and find what we want. The website lists DISCONTINUED fridges. Called their RUDE rep and found out only can get a Smaller, stainless steel ONLY refrigerator. So is that how they work, sell crappy refrigerators and then replace with a lesser refrigerator, which most likely will break down too. SHAME ON WHIRLPOOL. Or is it DEADPOOL. Your reputation is shot. I love Whirpool products. They work well, even under hard water conditions. Ive had my Whirlpool washer/dryer for 12 years now without one single problem. Even with the hard water problem in my house, the clothes still come out clean, the dryer works well, I do clean my vent each and every time after each dry. I also have to clean the area where I put my detergent in due to the hard water and the machines are still working great.

I paid a lot of money for this because I thought it would be high quality and last for quite a while without problems. First of all, you HAVE to open the right door before the left door and then remember to ALWAYS close the left door first and then the right door. If you dont the doors dont close well and your refrigerator gets hot AND THERE IS NO BUZZER OR ALARM TO TELL YOU THE DOORS ARENT CLOSED. After 2 years the freezer repeatedly freezes up and then the refrigerator heats up. My repairman says the controls on this refrigerator are WAY odd and instead of just buying an inexpensive part (defrost timer for example for $50) he need to order the entire control for probably 3 time more. NOT WORTH THE MONEY OR TROUBLE. BUY ANYTHING OTHER THAN WHIRLPOOL GOLD.

Purchased this Dishwasher on Feb. 28, 2015. In June 2016 about a 2 by 3 inch section of the enamel face on the door rusted and fell off above the air vent. After three hours of hold time between Lowes (with the extended warranty) and Whirlpool (their warranty department) it was determined that this was not covered by either warranty as it was beyond the date of the 1-year mfg warranty and was not covered by the extended warranty (it was only a cosmetic issue). As these calls took place over a matter of 2 days, it was interesting that between day 1 and day 2, Whirlpool had issued a statement that no rust repairs would be covered under any warranty repair - regardless, unless it affects the functionality of the dishwasher. In other words, they KNOW this is an issue with this model and are doing nothing to fix the problem. I must say that the folks at Lowes were most helpful; cannot say the same for the folks at Whirlpool. I do not think I will trust their products again.

I purchased a Whirlpool washer in March 2007. That washer is now leaking from the bottom. I called Whirlpool. I was told that the machine only had a one-year warranty, so repairs would be at my expense. The CSR then offered to schedule a service call for me at $139, which I refused. A few weeks later, I received in the mail an offer for an extended warranty on my Whirlpool washer.

After having my Whirlpool side by side refrigerator ice maker replaced 4 TIMES in 10 years, I finally found a permanent fix for it: an Igloo counter top ice maker for around half the price of a replacement Whirlpool ice maker. Unlike the Whirlpool ice maker, it makes ice. I promptly removed the Whirlpool ice maker FOR THE LAST TIME, and sent it to the dump, where it belongs. Goodbye Whirlpool! If that is the best you can produce, you will not receive any more of my hard earned money!

After several attempts to get some help from the company I paid $500 for the second coil to be replaced. One year later that second coil has broken down once again, called Whirlpool and got nowhere. Ill have to pay another repair company to come in, AGAIN, to repair this piece of junk! My wife and I made the unfortunate mistake of purchasing the Whirlpool Gold
My wife and I made the unfortunate mistake of purchasing the Whirlpool Gold Series, model #WRF989SDAM00 refrigerator two years ago...yes TWO YEARS AGO! We have experienced numerous issues with the appliance but our latest (no cold air in both the fridge and freezer) prompted a call to a service center. The serviceman that showed up knew immediately what the issue was, our compressor and evaporator had malfunctioned and according to him, We have seen the same problem in a number of these models and that Whirlpool has since redesigned the casing to prevent this issue in new models. What about those of us who purchased the previous model?! Now shame on us I guess for not purchasing the extended warranty...I suppose I just took it for granted that in todays competitive manufacturing world Whirlpool would be committed to building a quality product! Because of this I was offered two options from Whirlpool. #1 - pay for the parts yourself...over $800 or #2 - purchase their 1 year warranty program @ $350/year, this warranty will cover all parts and labor for an entire year. Based on my experiences though, I will need to purchase a 1 year warranty @ $350/year for the life of this lemon, potentially costing me $5500 over a 10 year period. I ultimately took option 3...tossed the piece of junk and bought a new fridge from their competition. Dont be fooled by the attractive design and appearance, the Whirlpool Gold Series refrigerator is a money pit waiting to happen!

Purchased a Whirlpool microwave for new home in December 2013. Model WHM31017AW-1. This is the second time the heater element has to be replaced. Im starting to learn the warning signals: open door and then a short time later the microwave would die a sudden death. In my 20s I purchased for my house in Boca Raton Fl all Whirlpool products... they worked forever. Now not so much. In order to get this one fixed again, I had to get a service contract for $300 which would be cheaper than getting it fixed again, heating element $400 and service call another $100. Serious $300 service contract money too much for a senior citizen. Never will I buy another Whirlpool product as a result.

On 11-29-2014 we were washing our laundry and our whirlpool washing machine started making a really loud noise so I went to investigate the problem. I open the bottom part of the washer to find out that the whole cement block to balance the drum was on the floor of the washer so I called the 1800 number on the machine and no one at whirlpool corporation wanted to even help. No one said sorry. No one said Let me see if I can help. No one. Every one I talked to they cant help at all. No one apologized once about the poor product that whirlpool sells and the defect that their products has. My washer is one year and one month old. So I can say truly with confidence that whirlpool product are the worst in the world plus their customer service even more. It is very sad after we paid all kind of money for our washer now I have to buy another one after one year and one month. Very bad customer service.

Just wondered if anyone else has had a problem with the paint bubbling up and peeling off their washer and/or dryer. My washer and dryer are in my laundry room off the kitchen with a heat and air vent in the room and I dont understand why my paint is doing this. They are about 5 years old and have always been in this room, never in a garage or basement. My dryer was rusting on the outside about 3 years ago and even though I bought the extended warranty, Whirlpool said it was only cosmetic and they wouldnt do anything about it. I bought them at Lowes and they were good enough to give me a new one to replace it. Both of the machines now have the paint bubbling up and peeling off and there is nothing that can be done. Anybody else have this problem and if so what can be done to repair the paint? This is my 3rd set of Whirlpool washer and dryers over the past 44 years and I will purchase another brand next time.

I purchased both the Cabrio washer and dryer because my dryer stopped working, it was old, and I knew that soon the washer would too, and wanted to modernize my set -- it was my moms old set. I was thrilled to get it delivered and should have had the delivery man from Lowes take it right back, when he told me they had just come from picking up one from another lady who was thoroughly dissatisfied with hers.Well, it didnt take too many washings for me to understand why that lady was upset! I really wish I had done the same thing! EVERY load of dark clothes have to be wiped off to get off the disgusting wet lint thats all over the clothes! Thats been going on since DAY 1! In every load, the clothes do not get completely wet and I thought I had combated that issue by having a pitcher of water always available to pour onto the load, so the sensor will add more water... That doesnt work, I now see!!! I just noticed last night lots of wet lint was on my fabric shower curtain liner, and I was thoroughly upset! I just never feel as though anything I wash gets clean. I truly wish I had come across this site BEFORE I purchased my set, and I would never have done so. Is there ANYTHING that can be done for people who have purchased these horrible appliances?

In August 2012 I purchased a side-by-side fridge with indoor water/ice dispenser. The appliance was purchased from Sears and delivered and installed by their employees or contractors. In November 2014 the refrigerator abruptly stopped making ice and began continuously cycling through the ice making process without creating ice cubes. Repairman told me the ice maker needs to be replaced for $300. He stated the control board went bad and the only recourse is an out of pocket replacement of the entire ice maker. A two year old fridge. The fridge has never been moved, abused, misused or dirty. It has only been used in a two adult home under normal household conditions. I would have thought an item that cost $1000 would last longer than two years!

I bought the stackable Whirlpool Duet. Piece of garbage (model # WFW9150WW). From day one the washer never worked. Error lights/bells kept going on before the second spin cycle. First repair guy couldnt figure it out. And the manual says just unplug and plug the power cable back in. Sure--every time I use it? I called Whirlpool service and they said a new control board was needed without even seeing the machine, which tells me this is a manufacturing flaw. I waited 2 months for the board. When it came, the repair guy put it in and then the machine would not stop filling. So another switch and hose are being ordered. Whirlpool customer service is completely useless. And no one will even discuss replacement. Now Im stuck. $700 out on the first machine and $200 on the extended warranty, which will be useless because Im going to dump the machine. And additional $800 on another new machine which probably wont work either. Oh, yeah, and you have to use special soap, which Ive tried, and got down to using only 1/2 a teaspoon because the suds never cleared. Please tell all your customers never to buy Whirlpool!

I purchased top load washer and dryer from Lowes last week. When I was washing clothes the first time 12/4/18 (the day Lowes delivered) I washed in quick wash setting, machine was showing me all stages of the wash on the progress lights. It took about one hour for one load. Today 12/11/18 I spoke to your customer service associates Trina regarding the issue with my top load washer wed4815ew1 serial m82572023. I was told a technician is schedule for repair tomorrow. I try to quick wash two loads, washer progress light only went to wash mode only. I had to press start/pause, select drain and spin to remove excess water. I started 8:30 am and finish around 1 pm. I was waiting for the cycle to finish, twice all progress stages light went blank. I have no idea when it will be done. Machine made noise, not spinning, no water in it. The dryer wtw4816fw2 serial c84621285, I dry at energy prefer setting, when the clothes was dry, dryer continue without the buzzing signal to stop. I had to keep watch of the time and turn it off manually so it not energy efficient when I have to monitor when clothes will be dry.

I bought a brand new Whirlpool fridge early June with the extended warranty to have it shipped on my moving day on June 18. The team delivered and installed the fridge and told me to wait 3 hours before plugging it. I went and spent over 300$ in groceries only to find out the fridge does not work. I waited 24 hours, still not working. I had to wait until Monday to call the customer service because it is closed on weekends. I had to throw out all my food and order food all weekend which incurred an extra 200$. I called Whirlpool on Monday and was told a technician would only come on June 30th. 8 DAYS LATER!!!!I did some research and found a certified whirlpool technician myself who was able to come the next day only to find out the fridge has no gas and this is an assembly defect - WHIRLPOOLS FAULT. Whirlpool would have to send me a brand new fridge (These fridges are NOT TESTED?!). I was asked to call to arrange the exchange, I asked for compensation as I have already spent over 500$ and now would have to wait another week with no fridge and they refused to compensate....They told me I would get a call in the next 48 hours to let me know when I would get the new fridge and 3rd day later, still no call.I received a call on Friday to tell me they approved the exchange...Really now and would have to wait another week. That is over 2 weeks with no fridge, I sent a private message last week to Whirlpool, no answer, I spoke to customer service twice, they cant help me and do not want to compensate me. I purchased a Whirlpool range from Lowes for $750.00. After 13 months, the digital circuit board went out and cost $580.00 to repair. I thought this was odd since the range was fairly new. The service tech said the boards are a common problem. Two years later, when using the self-cleaning mode, the door was locked and the board was out again. So this must be the issue because that is the same problem that happened the first time. This must be a design flaw! The board cannot handle the heat generated in self-clean mode. On November 1, 2011, I purchased the Whirlpool Estate washer (model # ETW4400XQ) from Wholesale Appliance in Charleston, SC. The first time I used it I knew something wasnt right when both the regular and so-called gentle cycle agitated at an incredibly fast speed. It is damaging my clothes. I called the dealer and they sent out a service person. He said that was just the way it was and he couldnt do anything. So, I keep trying to use the gentle cycle, but it was the same thing. I would have to stand by the machine and stop it after a couple of minutes so it wouldnt ruin the clothes. The more I thought about it, I decided that the repairman wasnt right. I called Whirlpool customer service and they sent a different repair service. He also said that he couldnt do anything to make it slow down as it was programmed by a computer inside and he could not change it. I went to the dealer, Wholesale Appliances, and they said there was nothing they could do as far as giving me a refund or a discount on a better machine. The setting on the washer clearly says gentle cycle.” Well, the whole world knows that does not mean beat the clothes to death as fast as possible. Can you make any suggestions? Thanks.
