I bought my home in 2010 and less than a year my Whirlpool microwave started forming a crack near the handle and today August 22nd, my husband and I are looking at it thinking, this is totally coming apart! My Whirlpool refrigerator had issues also. Stopped cooling less than a year, and I am thankful I had a warranty with it. Of course it was still under the manufacturers warranty. Use to be able to depend on WHIRLPOOL. Now you feel like youre in ONE with their products!

I purchased my water heater at Lowes and had it installed professionally. I suspected something was not quite right on numerous occasions because the hot water recovery time seemed excessive. I finally called Whirlpool and they gave me the names and numbers of two companies that were on their list. The first asked for the model number and normal information and never called back. The second showed up spent five minutes charged me 78 dollars and said they could not get the part (gas valve) I needed. And if I could get it from Whirlpool they would charge me 250 to put it on. They also said Whirlpool made horrible water heaters and I should save myself the trouble and just replace it. I have since heard from additional plumbers and the gas company to stay away from Whirlpool. I did have the water heater replaced. When they did it and they drained the old water heater it had so much sludge in it draining it was very difficult. The sludge is mystery since I have a softener in my home and it should have prevented that. The individual from that gas company said that was just one of the many issue others had experienced with these heaters.

I had an upscale Frigidaire suite of kitchen appliances and I loved them. A few years later I moved and needed a new set. I thought Whirlpool was about the same and I bought a Whirlpool set. The stove wont boil water or even fry an egg. It heats up and cuts off continuously. I called a service rep out and he called the engineer who told him it is designed like that and I need to use hot water on the stove to boil it. I was shocked at his ignorance and insulted by his stupidity. Ive been cooking for 60+ years and everyone who cooks knows you use cold water to boil water. But really, the stove does not cook anything. When frying eggs the burners cut off every few seconds to the point you cannot cook anything with it and the engineer said thats the way they designed it. DONT BUY WHIRLPOOL. THEY WONT EVEN BOIL WATER. HORRIBLE STOVE AND ONCE YOU HAVE IT YOU ARE STUCK WITH IT.

I bought a 5 burner Whirlpool range that I really like except the danger of knobs turning on too easily and releasing gas. You just have to brush up against them lightly and they turn. 3 times my nephew has come into a gas smelling kitchen. Whirlpool sent repairman out. He said they operate properly. Really?? I bought a Whirlpool fridge 4/23/2013. Thanksgiving it went out. I had a repair company come look at it to see how much it would be to repair. He said the compressor was out, it has a freon leak, and the electric board has a relay that is acting up. Basically it would cost $600 or more to fix. I only paid $750, mind you. Whirlpool customer service said if we pay to have it fixed then send them the paid receipt. They would then give me a 6 month service plan for future repairs if needed. Please tell me how that helps me now? A voucher for $200 or offer something to help me now. Not a happy customer. Thanks for nothing Whirlpool.

The Cabrio is the absolute worst washer that Ive ever owned! No matter what combination of setting I use, my clothes come out dingy, all twisted and wrinkled, and full of lint and detergent residue (I use liquid detergent made specifically for HE washers). Every setting runs for over an hour. So much for high efficiency! What it saves on water it more than wastes on electricity!! More often than not, the entire load becomes enveloped in one of the items to create one huge ball. A t-shirt stretched to encompass the remaining clothes into a perfect sphere! When that happens, some of the laundry in the middle of the big ball is barely damp. The dryer is just as bad, even the towels come out wrinkled. How is that possible? And again, it takes over an hour to dry a load.Whirlpool customer service is awful. When I called to complain, the agent began schooling me on how to wash clothes. Im 66 years old, Ive washed a few clothes in my lifetime and have always prided myself in my white whites and bright colors. I have a new house and the builder provided all the appliances. Based on my past negative experience with Whirlpool products and their customer service, I would not have purchased Whirlpool.

Second time in 3 years our freezer/fridge has gone out. Same symptoms as last time, which was a bad motor. Repaired BY WHIRLPOOL. Completely useless. I don’t expect to have to replace a refrigerator every three years. Especially when I paid $$$$ for it to begin with. DO NOT BUY!! We will be switching brands. And as the installed items in our house start to go (yeah, they’ve already had to service an oven installed at the same time 3 years ago too) they too will be replaced with other brands. You’ve lost a lifetime customer! Shame on you Whirlpool.

My son purchased a Whirlpool washer and dryer as a Christmas gift on 12-24-10 from Sears. It didnt wash the clothes properly and I would have to rewash them. Also, it would not spin the cloths properly and the top would take forever to unlock. Then in July, I called for repair because the water would not spin out at all. It took at least two weeks for them to come out. Another two weeks to get the part they ordered then to find out that they also needed another part that was not diagnosed in the first place. After another three weeks had gone by and having to go to the laundry to wash our clothes several times, it was finally fixed. I continued to have problems with the clothes not getting cleaned. How can this possibly be an energy efficient product when you have to do the load twice? I am so grateful to my son for the gift but am so dissatisfied with the product. I rate this product 1 out of 5 stars.

I have on more than one occasion and with small or normal loads had the washer stop and will not drain. My landlord says he bought the washer 2 years ago and it is my fault the washer wont drain. This has happened 5 times now and I am considering moving because of it since my landlord wont call a repairman to get it fixed.

I purchased my Cabrio washer and dryer 2 1/2 years ago, and for the past 6 months, I have dealt with it being unbalanced and I tried everything to get it balanced. When I researched the problems, I found so many other consumers are having the same problems and that Whirlpool will do nothing about it. I decided to start a petition on Change website to try to force Whirlpool to stand behind their product and correct the problem, offer us a refund or another product, or even fix the darn thing. It is tough economic times, and we spent money to have something that was energy-efficient as well as a product that is supposed to carry a good name. I am a single mother with three children, and I dont have a $1000.00 to throw away after 2 years. This is shameful that we, the consumers, have to deal with this. Please go to the Change website and sign my petition. The more signatures I get, the more leverage we have to deal with Whirlpool. Lets pull together and show Whirlpool we will not stand for them robbing us of a quality product. Thank you so very much.

Whirlpool Cabrio washer - Do not buy this washer. I have never placed a comment on the web before, but after reading about the same problems over and over, there should be a class action suit. We purchased a 4.8 Cu FT High Efficiency Front Load Washer in February of 2016. What a nightmare. Just a few months after having it, we kept getting an E3 error message that would not go away. After 2 weeks of waiting before a tech could come out there replaced a door mechanism said it would be fine. After the next wash same thing, same problem. Could not even open the door to get my laundry out. Again they could not get a tech out for at least 2 weeks so Im stuck with the cost of getting my laundry done elsewhere. This time it was the motherboard. Had to wait a week for that to be shipped out. This was all completed in June 2016. We are now the beginning of September and same problem. Again we are told at least 1-2 weeks to get a tech out. Seriously Whirlpool, we are your customer. I have a family and we need to wash our clothes. We spent $1200 on this machine only to have to take our laundry to a public laundry mat because your machine keeps breaking down. They will not replace the machine even though this is the 3rd time with the same problem. The customer service is horrible. They are not willing to help in any way to get this fixed much sooner for her or give us a new machine. This one is obviously a lemon! I will never purchase any Whirlpool appliance again and I suggest based on some of the reviews on here no one does. Next appliance I buy I will do more research for sure.

Purchased this dishwasher in January 2012, and it stopped working in May 2015. We replaced thermal fuse a year ago and just had to replace the control panel. It worked for 1 day and through 2 wash cycles, but during the 3rd wash cycle, it failed to drain and no power again, which is the same problem we had before. We opted to also replace the control board, just to be safe. Lol. What a piece of junk! Whirlpool is a pathetic excuse for a company, and, judging from others experiences with the customer service department, we will not bother contacting these ** since they clearly have no interest in providing any service at all to their customers. I have had many other lower end dishwasher models, and all of them worked well past the 5 - 10 year mark and never stopped working or required any service. I WILL NEVER PURCHASE ANOTHER APPLIANCE FROM WHIRLPOOL AND HAVE SPREAD THE WORD TO EVERYONE I KNOW. Good luck, Whirlpool. I do not expect they will be around in 10 years. Lol. Do not give your hard earned money to these idiots for the junk that they peddle, and please let your local appliance dealer know why you wish to purchase any other brand BUT Whirlpool. Consumers are not stupid, Whirlpool! You are ignorant for banking on that and should be shut down for your unfair business practices, not to mention misrepresentation of your despicable products.

Whirlpool Cabrio - 6 Big Problems: I dont write bad reviews on anything but in this case, I feel I have to warn potential buyers. Ive owned this washer for more than 4 years. Here are the problems: 1) This washer TEARS HOLES in my towels; 2) It SHREDS some clothes; 3) Loads are UNBALANCED every time I use it, regardless of load type or size; 4) Very LOUD when running. My neighbors can hear it and they are 150 feet behind us. It sounds like someone is pounding on the walls of my house. BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! I havent seen it, but I believe it might actually be jumping off the floor; 5) Its NOT High Capacity as advertised. Sure, the drum is big, but you cant put much more than a tiny load in it. If you try a larger load, the clothes dont get cleaned; and 6) Whirlpool wont do a darn thing about it. They dont care about the buyer or their own reputation. Our family grew and I thought we needed a larger washer. I foolishly replaced a ten-year old, $300 standard top-loading GE washer that never had a problem, with this expensive **. The GE had a drum that was about 1/2 the size and it washed MORE clothes! The GE never damaged any clothes and it wasnt ridiculously loud like this one. I regret ever buying this expensive washer and I will never again buy a Whirlpool product.

I purchased a washer/dryer around March of this year. I have nothing but trouble out of both of them. It doesnt matter what cycle the washer is on. Its like it has a mind of its own. It may wash; it may not. Sometimes, it takes over an hour for it to finish washing. The dryer sometimes dries on one cycle; the next time, it wont. Who would think a brand new appliance would do this. Every appliance in my kitchen is Whirlpool. They dont give me any problem, and I use them everyday.

In 2008 I bought a Whirlpool range from Lowes. About a year ago I began to notice an electrical smell when I would use the oven. I called the repairman in October and he had to replace wires that had melted. The first time using the oven blew a fuse. Repairman came back replaced everything for free and it has worked fine since October. 2 days ago the fuse blew again. When I flipped the breaker in order to use the cooktop there was an arc flash which blew a hole through the back of the panel on the stove where the cord is hooked to the stove and a hole burned in my wall. After reading Whirlpools fan mail I see that there are severe issues with the quality of Whirlpool products. It is a sad day when the names we have come to trust are more concerned with the bottom dollar than with customer satisfaction with their product.

I have a whirlpool water heater. This is the third or 4th time that the upper sensor failure code has come on. Our water heater turns off all the time and we have to fire it back up. In the past few months, it has started pouring water out from the long tube on the side of it anytime we turn it on for more then 10 minutes. The last time we called a plumber, I was trying to get a quote on a tankless water heater. Ive been so fed up with ours and I thought that would be a better route to go. The plumber explained the negative sides to a tankless water heater and explained that our water heater was a really nice, really expensive and fairly newer model. I told him that I had just gotten it about four years ago. He said he could just fix that one. So after looking at it, he acted as if he didnt know what an upper sensor was and told me it was under warranty and that I should call for the parts. Every time we have called for the parts, they send the same box thing on the front of the heater and every time, it doesnt fix it for long before it says the same thing. And now, like I said, the water heater has now added the problem of pouring water out of it. I need help. I dont know what to do. Im tired of not knowing if Ill have hot water or if the water heater is going to pour out water. Im pregnant and worried that if we cant get this fixed Ill continue to have this problem along with having a baby to take care of. Please help.

Got a fridge Friday night setup, and was not cooling as of Sunday still. Called Best Buy who we got it through and they sent someone out first thing Monday AM to look at it. Per the Whirlpool agreement, the first year has to get serviced through them. Finally got a hold of their service support to get someone scheduled to come on site. 11 days later was the earliest appointment, and they just expected me to deal with no refrigerator for 11 days. I asked of other options, what wait times would be after Whirlpool comes out in 11 days to deem it broken and they repeatedly said I cant give you any what if answers for anything. Were no help at all and just expected me to figure out things for at least 11 days on a brand new 3 day old machine that is broken. The absolute WORST customer experience ever and refuse to buy from them again. Thankfully, Best Buy has a return window so were completely returning it and going with a different brand.

Our Whirlpool Duet Washer pair is 2.5 yrs old. The washer didnt work at first, but a repairman found the problem and fixed it right up. They have not broken. The dryer has been fine and we have had them stacked for most of the time without any issues. My problem sounds minor compared to those others listed here, but this thing is ruining all our white or light colored clothes. They go in white, and come out covered with splotchy, dirty looking spots literally all over them! They werent that kind of dirty when they went in. It’s the oddest thing, like it makes dirt. Reading some of these concerns makes me wonder if it has a mold problem inside somewhere, and that is what is ruining our clothes. Tax return is coming and it is going. End of story.

We had Lowes install a Whirlpool model Nu40T121-403 natural gas water heater early October 2012. The temp controller went out in October of 2014. I replaced the controller myself at a cost of $30 for overnight UPS from the manufacturer, American Water Heater. The controller went out again almost exactly one year later and I again replaced it for the $30 shipping charge. In both instances the customer service person told me the malfunction was probably due to my not flushing the heater annually, causing a sediment buildup. The water to the heater not only flushed annually, but is filtered through a water softener and there was absolutely no evidence of sediment in the drain water or on the part of the control that is in the tank. Now it has stopped working a third time. I called Lowes about replacing it, but they only carry Whirlpool, so wont be buying a replacement from them.

Cabrio washing machine - I have had the exact same problems as all of the above... lid locks occasionally ... after many frustrating tries. I am ready to pick up this stupid washing machine and pitch it in the junk pile! Soap on clothes so I have to redo ... except many times it takes forever to get the stupid machine to restart... Most times I end up rinsing things by hand in the sink. We are constantly itchy from soap residue. My clothes do not come out clean. Especially the towels. Clothes are not spun out as much as they should be... Have been doing it over again by hand many times... which is not good because They still have way too much water in them and it takes 2 -3 Times longer to dry them! I am so disappointed in this set. I always thought Whirlpool was a great brand but, sadly, I was terribly mistaken. Never again. Finally got someone to say they have to replace all the controls. They say they will send parts but I have to pay someone to change it out... sounds like they admit there is a problem but will not accept full responsibility for it. I did not make the item so why do I have to pay to have it fixed? I believe they should issue a recall and make all of us believers in them again. I guess its my fault for buying their product? So... doesnt clean, spin, rinse, lock and has a bad odor... not a great product, is it?

I thought the new AquaLift cleaning would be the greatest. Boy, was I disappointed -- no thoroughly disgusted and very angry -- when I tried to use the self cleaning oven. I had cooked a prime rib roast and a lot of grease had spattered inside the oven. I wiped away the excess and did a cleaning cycle -- what a joke! There was still grease running down the door and walls. Nothing was changed after two cleaning cycles. Now I have to crawl inside the oven and scrub it manually. I was always pleased with the old self cleaning ovens which only left some ash and a little bit to clean up. The AquaLift technology doesnt work at all, didnt Whirlpool test it prior to selling it to the public? They will surely lose my business and I hope a lot of other peoples business as well. I bought a fridge from this company not even 14 months ago. Went away for a week and came home to a fridge and freezer of rotten food. The fridge had died - Im guessing not long after I had gone away by the look and smell of the food and house. I have had nothing but the run around ever since that day. Spoke to this person and then that person. The electrician confirmed that my fridge is completely dead because of the compressor. So they sent a report to Whirlpool and they have now confirmed that I will get a new fridge. Now Im being told that will take 7-14 days. So I have been left with no food whatsoever as well as no fridge. I have two kids and cant even buy shopping for my son to take to school. And now Im being told that I had 9 months left on the warranty for the fridge that died and that’s all I will get on a new fridge. Should I not receive a new warranty for a new fridge? And should they replace my food? Could really do with some feedback on this matter. Please help me.

There is a 1 space between shelf edge & walls all the way around. Put a lb. of butter on shelf & it fell down to the bottom. There is no butter keeper which allows orders to be absorbed by open butter. No egg keeper. In the freezer, the bins are wire baskets. So far I have dropped a bag of frozen blueberries & they fell to the bottom of the freezer. In French door bottom freezers it is almost impossible to retrieve items falling through. Ice packs fall through, very poorly designed. Very loud, supposed to have a water filter in upper right corner for easy access... its not there!Called Whirlpool, waited 20 min. & all the rep could say was, So sorry youre not happy. Asked if modifications could be purchased or made... nope. Asked to speak to quality control, a supervisor, anyone that may be able to give some satisfaction. Nope. She was making notes of all my complaints so they can be passed on to engineers for future models!!! Had a rebate offer, rep transferred me to that dept... cant/ wont honor it because 1 day too late. KitchenAid, Whirlpool doesnt care once they have your $. NEVER again. Ill shop Kenmore products from now on.

I bought my Cabrio washer about 3.5 years ago. Little after the year, I had to replace the lid because the hinge broke. Then came the F1 code, which I noticed if you turn the machine off for a couple of minutes, it resets itself. About a week ago, it started making a grinding noise and staining the clothes with oil or grease. Transmission problems. I was told by the seller it had a 10 year warranty. I called them up and now I got to foot the bill for a technician to come to my house and tell me what I already know plus labor. Might as well buy a new one. Beware because I believe Kenmore is manufactured by the same company.

I purchased this set in November 2013, it is now October 2014. I made the same mistake as many others have made (according to the reviews that I have read on this site). Because I have owned Whirlpool brand appliances before - including washers/dryers - I assumed this new HE machine set would be every bit as good + quality. Unfortunately, I did not do my homework!Everyone is right - this Cabrio HE washer/dryer combo is nothing more than expensive JUNK!. My complaints are all the same as everyone elses: the clothes do not get clean, soap residue remains on clothes, the clothes even have parts of the articles come out of the wash cycle dry not even having had the water touch the articles in areas! The dryer has been repaired once already for a dryer sensor problem & overheating, now both the washer & dryer are making some ridiculous hum-drum noises! Even with the extended warranty that I purchased, I can see the loop holes built into it; theyve got me over a barrel with the nonsense mumble-jumble tactics of having to qualify for adequate service repairs for replacement of parts (3x on each machine) they cant find, before even attempting to negotiate a buyout that will never happen. Never again, Whirlpool anything!!!

Whirlpool Cabrio Platinum Option - Very stylish. Well built - very solid and heavy constructions. Full features from quick wash to sanitary wash, very energy efficient, steam setting on dryer for touch-ups. Quick loads, etc. We were looking for a washer and dryer set that would accommodate large quilts and blankets and still have the flexibility to handle small and delicate loads, and be energy efficient. The Whirlpool Cabrio Platinum Option is solidly built and very sturdy. It handles small and large loads and is very energy efficient. Both the washer and dryer handle sheets and pillowcases without a problem. Wed recommend them to anyone.

I count myself as lucky... my Whirlpool 465 Accubake Ceramic Cooktop stove was given to me. I have used it for 3 years. One day, out of the blue, the oven, which was in use, started clanging loud and jumping up and down. I started screaming & tried to cut it off & it would not go off. I ran to the panel box & threw the breaker. It also burned my food that was cooking. It did it several times. Then I decided to not cut the light on or touch the button to raise the temp. It has not done it since. I bake everything on 350 degrees and immediately throw the breaker. I am scared of this stove and plan to replace it. I will NOT buy a Whirlpool, anything. (washer/dryer/fridge/aircon)....once bitten...

Last week dishwasher leaked. Set up repair with our local gas company that has service plus. Came today. Repairman showed me there is a hole in the bottom of the tub. Upon closer inspection it looks like the manufacturer drilled a hole that wasnt needed so they routed out a depression in the tub and must have put in some sort of plug or filler of some kind which now came out. I called Whirlpool and explained to lady about the defective tub. She said well if it had a plug of some sort put into the tub it would have fallen out before this. I said Well it didnt it just must have happened as it never leaked before. She said it is no longer in warranty. I told her this is a defect to me as if you drill a hole in the tub that wasnt necessary and then the plug failed that you put in to hide the extra hole. It is a defect not a warranty issue. Upshot is she wouldnt do anything about it. I told her I have always bought Whirlpool but if this is their policy its the last time I buy anything made by Whirlpool. After reading all the complaints registered here about Whirlpool I guess I am more than fortunate as my dishwasher (bought in 2006) had run great until their plug fell out (Great except for all the rinse aid that has leaked out for several years.).

Our long and tortuous experience began in 2013 and continues to this day. But Ill just give the headlines. In August 2013 we bought Whirlpool BTM French Door KFIS20XVMS11 from Lowes. Three years later we learned that model number appeared on the attached recall notice which had been issued just days before our unit was delivered in September. Neither Lowes nor Whirlpool notified us of this recall which described a simple repair to a part that was leaking so slowly that its effects took three years to show up in a destroyed floor and cabinet enclosure that will cost $2981 (and still rising) to repair. We called AIG, the company behind the extended warranty provider, and they responded promptly by dispatching a Whirlpool factory authorized service technician who attempted unsuccessfully to drag the unit from its alcove over the warped, erupted floor beneath. With the refrigerator half-way out of its enclosure, the technician stopped and asked us to sign a waiver of liability. When we refused, he announced that the problem was water damage and he jammed the unit back into place, leaving dents in both doors and the freezer drawer below. We went to Lowes, who strung us along for several months before sending an engineer whose report concluded that the problem was a manufacturers defect (The Lowes engineer and his associate damaged the unit further when they forced it back into place over a floor made more uneven when they removed the pieces of rotted oak shown in the accompanying photo.). Based upon the engineers report, which Lowes said it had no duty to share, we were given a 1-800 number for Whirlpool customer service, with assurance that we would be taken care of. Although we had to start from cold without the engineers report, Whirlpool customer service was initially very accommodating and gave us hope. For a moment, I thought we were going to get resolution. They assigned a case number and we supplied the requested documentation. That was on a Friday in March, 2017.Monday we were surprised to receive a sternly worded notice from the Whirlpool Law Department that a clerk there would be taking over our case. We realized that we were far from resolution. Why did the Law Department intervene? We dont know. We guess it may be because they want to avoid a class action lawsuit on behalf of possibly thousands of leaky refrigerator owners (Whirlpool, KitchenAid, Maytag, Jenn-Air and Amana units were all among the affected). In any case, since January we have been monkey-in-the middle among Whirlpools various departments, Lowes various departments and AIG, with no progress. What do we want? We just want things back the way they were before our leaky refrigerator did its damage and before Lowes and Whirlpool demolished our good as new looking KitchenAid refrigerator in the process of telling us they wont fix it.Footnote: We purchased all new KitchenAid Architect series appliances in August/September 2013, including top of line cooktop, dishwasher, convection microwave, convection oven and a French door cabinet depth refrigerator. Every unit except the cooktop has required warranty service, including five expensive electronic parts replacements. Fortunately we bought extended warranty service from KitchenAid/AIG, who have been terrific to deal with on the parts replacements. I dont recommend Whirlpool appliances but if you are intent on buying them, I do highly recommend extended warranties. As for the value of Whirlpools manufacturers warranty, watch this space. Ill be back with the final resolution.

Purchased both Cabrio washer (wtw6200sw2) & dyer brand new in 2007 for $1200. Within 4 years the motherboard went out. Whirlpool didnt want to fix it. They said it was past warranty. After many complaints to corporate, they sent someone out to repair it for $496 (they paid). Repairman said these models had motherboards from Japan & Whirlpool was aware of the many issues, but wouldnt do a recall. 2009, the springs went out, 2011 F codes began to appear. Clothes dont get clean; not enough water. 2014 & 2015 DU & DL codes appear. Now I need a new Lid latch assembly. These washing machines are not worth buying. Never again will I buy another Whirlpool!! My mom had an old Kenmore that lasted 20 years and only needed a replacement belt. No more fancy high end washers for me!

I call today of course warranty is up after my 2 yr and Whirlpool says sorry maam there is nothing we can do. Seriously I purchased 2 years and 2 months ago @ $1560 and I’m told I would have to purchase a new one. I will never purchase another Whirlpool anything for we have had nothing but problems with them not standing behind their product. Model #GSS30C6EYY03. This is crazy to me. After almost 5 years of satisfactory performance, our $1200 Whirlpool Duet
After almost 5 years of satisfactory performance, our $1200 Whirlpool Duet washing machine WFW9400SU1 requires repairs costing over $1100. Similar to another complaint listed, some parts rusted out, leading to extensive damage during use, which we realized only after the spin cycle became incredibly loud. Now the entire gut of the machine (bearing, drum, arm, casing, etc.) needs to be replaced - $900 parts and $200 labor. I trust my repairman (who said theyd seen this type of problem before with Whirlpool) especially because he recommended buying a new machine instead. I called Whirlpool, and they said they could do nothing for me which made me very angry. This is a mechanical problem that could have been avoided by using proper materials. Whatever happened to the washing machines that would last 15-20 years?

We hate the matching Cabrio washer dryer bought in 2011: Dryer lower blower went out after 18 months in service. The day it went out whirlpool sent me the extended warranty offer. Warranty had expired 6 months prior. I renewed for 12 months and promptly called for a repair. Cost was approximately $450.00, all covered under the newly paid for warranty. I dodged a bullet there. Washer has the splintering fiberglass around the top. Lower bearing is out and sounds like a freight train coming out of the laundry room. Not going to have it repaired. Looking for new units not manufactured by whirlpool. Shameful ROI. No more whirlpool products in our house.

I have owned a Whirlpool Cabrio HE WTW6400SW3 for two years and have had nothing but issues from the start. Control panel was replaced twice under warranty. Also the clothes (socks underwear) were under the tub blocking the drain. This is not covered under the warranty. I was told by the repairman that this is the usual issue. He told me they took the front loader design and just stood it up with no protection from garments and coins getting under the tub, through the under tub filter often and into the drain pump. You are kidding me? Almost $1000 for this washer and its so ill designed. I have read forums that this has been an ongoing issue for several years yet Whirlpool continues to build these. I dont vent to forums often but just now I finished removing the tub to remove 2 socks and 7 cents. Also, I had to remove the drain pump and found another 16 cents inside it. So far the pump has not been ruined but this time water is coming out from the machine so will probably be ordering another pump for it as well. The wife wants it out of the house tomorrow and not another cent spent on it. But it is only two years old. What do you do? If you are reading this because you are searching for a new washer do not purchase a Whirlpool! I have gotten nothing but grief and was put off by their customer service dept as well. I guess after fielding so many calls about the same thing they have been told to just put all the calls off as no big deal. I am sure Whirlpool is making a killing off the sales on this unit. The claims made during the sale convinced me. What a joke. Look around the internet and you will find hundreds if not thousands of the same issues.

Purchased washer and dryer combo on 07-08-2013. I have a family of just 2 now. Under normal conditions I thought the machine should last 12 to 15 years. After 2 years of service the bearing and seal on the tub failed, I had to order parts and rent a tool to install. Then after 3 years had to replace suspension kit for the tub. Now after 3 1/2 years the water drain pump has failed and the sensor on the motor is acting up. This machine listed for $800. I did not purchase extended warranty but I have repaired myself. If I had not repaired myself the cost would have exceeded the cost of new. I have now purchased another makers model machine. I think Whirlpool should buy this machine back.

This machine constantly errors and does not allow them to wash clothes. I have followed the instructions in the manual to try and clear the errors. I ended up calling Whirlpool and the response I got was... It will be anywhere from $80 to $125 for someone to come out and look at it. This is a product which should not stop working after 2 years. I guess Whirlpool only stands by their products for a year because they think it is only built for a years worth of service. A Whirlpool hot water heater in an apartment I own would not stay lit. A plumber came to service and told me I needed a part from Whirlpool and that no one in town carried them. I called Whirlpool and after providing all information about the unit, she informed me that she would not send me the part because the serial number was not registered in my name. I explained to her that I purchased the building and did not install the water heater that a prior owner had installed it. All I wanted was a repair part. The Whirlpool rep refused to sell me a part unless I could provide a bill of sale where I purchased the tank. The part cost $41 which I was more than happy to pay for regardless of any warranty coverage. I have an obligation to provide services to my tenants. Being unable to repair the tank for a problem which appears to be commonplace for this brand, I had to replace with a new tank at a cost of $1380.00.

I purchased a new Whirlpool refrigerator, side by side in August 2013. The ice maker made ice but the size of the ice was much smaller than usual, however we lived with it. The problem was not solved until about the 4th visit from the repairman. Not completely happy with my purchase of the Whirlpool Gold Series refrigerator I just paid off this month. Have had the refrigerator for one year. To be as large as it is, it really doesnt seem to be able to hold that much food. The refrigerator is on the top and the freezer is on the bottom. We began having issues with the ice in the ice maker becoming frozen together and forming clumps of ice. The ice felt damp to the touch rather than feeling completely frozen. We called the manufacturer and they said to be sure the vents in the freezer section were not blocked by food. So you have to be sure to load the freezer so that food doesnt block the vents. Additionally, when filling your glass with ice from the door, unless you are EXTREMELY careful, all of the ice will not go into the glass but spill out onto the floor. Weve had the refrigerator for one year and I still have ice coming out that doesnt make it into the glass. It is not user friendly at all. One last thing - the refrigerator has double doors and to get to the section of the middle pull out drawer, you have to open both of the double doors, letting out a lot of the cold air. For the expense of this particular refrigerator I would not recommend purchasing it. My last refrigerator was a Whirlpool as well. It lasted 17 years and I was very happy with it. This Gold Series was supposed to be a step up, but I feel it was a step down.

We purchased the Whirlpool refrigerator on July 9, 2012. Refrigerator was replaced on August 23, 2012. Since then there have been many, many service calls. I wish I had kept records to be able to tell you exactly how many times, but we purchased an extended warranty. From memory, I can tell you the ice maker has been replaced twice, new doors have been installed for refrigerator and freezer (replacing ice maker a third time), then within the last three months the freezer door was again replaced (replacing ice maker a fourth time). The gasket on the freezer door has been replaced. At one point the refrigerator was colder and freezing and the freezer was not freezing. Parts and pieces have been repaired on several occasions. The inside of the freezer door next to the ice maker is still frosting up and yet again the ice maker is not functioning and needs to be replaced a fifth time. In other words this Whirlpool refrigerator has been a lemon for us. Finally, we figured it out. There is a fairly large gap at the top of the freezer door between the case and the gasket. If you run your hand across the area where the gap is, there is definitely a dip in the face of the refrigerator case where you can see the top of the ice maker. A picture showing the gap is attached. I am not sure that our purchasing a store extended warranty was fortunate or not. My husband has insisted on repairing this thing over and over and over because of the extended warranty. I think repairing it is futile and the only people being punished by all the repair calls is us because we frequently do not have ice, we are losing food because of freezing or not freezing or cooling or not cooling as the case may be. Thank God, the warranty expires in July and we can repair this Whirlpool by replacing it with another brand -- not in any way associated with Whirlpool. If you Google Whirlpool, you will find that Whirlpool is affiliated with almost every other brand of refrigerator and really limits your choices. Based on my experience with this Whirlpool refrigerator, I will never purchase another Whirlpool or any other brand associated with the Whirlpool brand. The myriad of repair persons in my home probably find a Whirlpool refrigerator is job security for them.

This time the angle that supports the drum broke and Whirlpool says drum needs to be replaced. HOWEVER, after waiting a month company says DRUM IS UNAVAILABLE. My new fridge is extremely hard to open. The technician that was sent out told me that there is too much suction building up inside the fridge and freezer and that is why it has to be yanked to open. This is not only annoying it means the fridge is constantly being pulled forward out of place. Technicians solution was to deactive the castors under the fridge. At the time he was here I did not realize that I could then no longer move the fridge out of its place to clean. I called Whirlpool and complained and was told that they could do nothing more for me because the fridge is in good working order. I hardly would call this good working order. They also informed me that if I wished to clean under the fridge or the coils at the back it would require a service call to move the fridge and I WOULD BE CHARGED EACH TIME. Needless to say I AM VERY, VERY UNHAPPY WITH THE WHOLE SITUATION.

Whirlpool 2 Cu. Ft. Stainless Steel Over-the-Range Microwave - My wife and I have just remodeled our kitchen and we bought all the Whirlpool appliances, fridge, stove and microwave. We have had them for about 3 weeks now and now the display on the microwave just stop working. I just cant believe this. Its going to be a real pain now to remove this and replace it. Has anybody else had this problem and I wonder if its even covered under its warranty.

I have a Whirlpool Cabrio washer and dryer set. The heating element went out on the dryer when it was less than a year old. I purchased the set at Lowes. They sent out a repair person who called and told them it was the heating element and he replaced it. Two weeks went by and I could smell something burning. I called Lowes and after two weeks wait the repairman showed back up. He said that the control panel was bad. Lowes replaced my dryer and I have not had any further issues with it. Lowes gets an A+. My washer went out about a year later. It was making the loudest noise on the spin cycle. The repair person came out about 2 weeks after I called and told me that the washer was basically worthless, that the repair would cost more than the washer would to replace. I was totally shocked and decided to use it until it died. In the meantime, I found a repair/used appliance place. They repaired it for $235 and it ran for about 4 months. Then the noise returned. I have had it repaired again. Now the control panel gives me the SE light and stops running with 27 minutes left in the wash cycle. I have had nothing but problems with this machine. I would not recommend Whirlpool to anyone. Im going to have to replace this machine and it has cost me lots of $$. Junk!!

I purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio washer and dryer from a local appliance center. Everything was working great. After some time, the washer began to have error codes. I would have to turn it off and restart using more detergent, more water and more electricity to attempt to get a load washed. I did purchase an extended warranty. I reported the issue to Whirlpool and I have had 7 home repair visits while still under Whirlpools warranty. The first time, the repair tech went under the washer and tightened a screw. REALLY! The next visit, the motherboard was changed and the issues kept coming back. Well, the Whirlpool warranty was now over so the extended warranty had to be picked up from the appliance center. Things got worse and had continued repair calls. After I had enough, I called Whirlpool and spoke to everyone under the sun. I tossed it outside and bought another brand washer. Several weeks went by and this washer still under the shed, Whirlpool contacted me and bought back my washer, GREAT.Now, here it starts all over again with the dryer, same issues with motherboard. Only this time, I am 1 month out of Whirlpool warranty and need $385 for a new motherboard plus cost to replace. I call Whirlpool again but only this time, they show no issues with this dryer and are not budging. I toss it out and again, purchase another brand dryer. I grew more angry by the day looking at this dryer sitting useless outside. I had it hauled off as trash. My question is how does a consumer protect themselves against these manufacturers? I do understand warranties but if it smells like a lemon, acts like a lemon, it must be a lemon!

My model - GB9FHDXWD06 - is one of only a very few that fits our space. However, it has failed three times in 5 years: 1) A faulty defrost drain tube that was replaced under warranty, 2) A jammed vent flap that caused the freezer to fail, and 3) a burned-out control panel (an expensive repair). It is also annoyingly noisy and middling at energy efficiency. The coils are in a very narrow space below the refrigerator, which makes them a bear to clean. And, the plastic front plate that must be removed for cleaning breaks far too easily. On the good side, it is a bottom freezer model (which is far better for convenience), the space-wasting ice maker was very easy to remove, the glass shelves, removable baskets, and drawers are easy to clean, and the auto-defrost works very well (after the recall update, number one, above). Temperature uniformity is good and the freezer maintains below 0° very well. Overall, it is a good looking appliance with mediocre efficiency and poor reliability. Not recommended.

The stove is only 5 years old. The oven would not ignite. The gas was getting through, but theres no flame. Sears repaired it and put a complete flame and ignitor piece at a cost for a part of $132.00. I feel the stove is too new to have to replace anything. I am retired, so I do not use the oven often. I have only cleaned the oven one time in five years. It is very clean. I picked this stove out and paid $900.00, because I liked the style and everything about it. I feel you should look into this, and I should not have to pay for repairs in such a short time of ownership. The repair person said this stove already had an upgrade in it. Please respond. Does the whole heating element need replacing or just the ignitor?

We bought a Whirlpool Cabrio washing machine a year and a half ago. It started making loud noises over time and finally stopped. Whirlpool did advise us that it was out of warranty but suggested they send a factory repairperson out. They told us depending on the problem they might pay the bill. It turned out that a nut holding the pulley had not been tightened up properly at the factory and had no restraining device, so it simply rattled off over time. Since we dont use the machine that much, the problem went past the 1-year warranty. It cost us two hundred and fourteen dollars for repairs. I could have put the nut back on myself for free. The service guy also said they had multiple similar problems and I should contact Whirlpool and they would probably work with me. No chance. They only kept repeating that it was out of warranty. I even talked with a supervisor who said the same thing. I asked to appeal further and she refused to give me anyone else I could contact. I asked for their legal department information, and she said she did not have that and I would have to get that through my attorney. What a joke. No more Whirlpool for me.

August 15, 2011 - We purchased a new Whirlpool Water Heater Model N50T61-40
August 15, 2011 - We purchased a new Whirlpool Water Heater Model N50T61-403 for $398 from Lowes. We used their recommended installer (that was our first mistake!). He made the following installation mistakes: 1. He connected the hot water to the cold water & the cold water to the hot water. 2. He installed DRYER venting instead of HVAC venting. 3. He used flammable tape on the venting instead of screws. 4. He had incompatible metals touching near the gas line which can create an electrical charge & thus, a sparking situation. 5. He left us with a gas leak. 6. He did not install the screen that is supposed to surround the base of the water heater.7. He failed to strap down the expansion tank. These failures were discovered by an HVAC person who was in our basement to give an estimate on a replacement of the furnace & AC coil at the same time this genius was installing our water heater. The installer overheard the comments & literally... he disappeared & we never saw him again! We told all of this to Lowes & they were not phased in the least -- indeed, they didnt even seem surprised! They sent out a few other guys from the same company to correct the errors. So, it finally was installed & passed the county inspection & we had hot water again... for a little while. Within a few months the water heater pilot light would not stay lit. I was having to relight it once a week or so. After much arm twisting, we were finally able to get Whirlpool to send out a new pilot light assembly and pay for the installation. It was installed July 25, 2012. And.... it worked for 8 months. After returning from a trip on April 30, 2013, we went to take showers & the water was cold. The same problem was happening again... The pilot light had gone out while we were out of town & it will not stay lit & I have to relight it every 2-3 days.We talked to an assistant manager at the Lowes store where it was purchased. He talked to Whirlpool & Whirlpool said they would pay for the parts but not the service call which would be $149. I also learned today from the same manager that Whirlpool will not replace the product until they have replaced the same parts three times. Hmmmm.... Lets do some basic math here. $149 x 3 = $447! Thats MORE than the water heater cost! We believe that the water heater has been defective from day one & we also contend that their replacement part for the pilot light assembly is also defective (by design??). A pilot light assembly should last longer than 8 months! We are getting ready to build a new home within the next year. We will get to choose our supplier & the manufacturer of the appliances that will be in our home. Needless to say, Lowes will not be on the list. They keep saying, Our hands are tied. (Not buying it!) And Whirlpool will definitely be off of our list as their customer service is the worst Ive ever seen & their product quality is sub par. The other thing I experienced with Lowes was that when I tried to leave a review on their site for this specific product... twice... both reviews were rejected. The reviews presented the facts as Ive stated here, but because they showed Lowes & Whirlpool in a negative light, they were not posted on lowes.com. So, consumer beware -- their reviews are heavily screened so that the negative reviews rarely get posted. The consumer should be aware that the reviews on Lowes website are heavily screened & therefore do not equally represent consumers who have had a negative experience. This is an integrity issue.

I purchased a Whirlpool gas top range from Lowes in Somerset Ky September 2013. Model number WFG524SLAB1. The surface is showing bubbles. I contacted Whirlpool and they gave some kind of story. In other words I am stuck with it. Still under warranty but they wont send someone out to look at it. Lowes told us that it could be a paint defect when it was made. If the top starts peeling, it will be a real mess. I have never used anything abrasive on the stove top. As of right now I am not happy with Whirlpool at all and if they dont do something about this, I will never buy another one of their appliances.

Ice maker kept freezing up. Im continually taking the ice tray out to unfreeze. The frequent removal of the tray eventually broke the tab off on the liner. Ive now been told this (liner) is not a replaceable part and since that is the case, the warranty will not cover. Im upset that the repair technician did not process the claim properly and state that the make had a problem freezing. What kind of company would manufacture a product that would have parts that are unrepairable? You spend close to $2,000 on a refrigerator, wouldnt you think you would have an ice maker that works? I know they hope to sell more appliances this way but you can bet I will not be purchasing another Whirlpool anything! I will also be retracting my recommendations to friends and family to purchase a Whirlpool. The company does not stand behind its products.

A Whirlpool dishwasher was installed by Skyline, a modular home manufacturer, and we occupied the house on August 21, 2014. The appliance never worked and Whirlpool sent repairmen 9 times over 9 months to either repair or determine if it should be replaced. It washed the dishes exactly 4 times in that time. Complaining to Whirlpool only caused a supervisor to scream at my wife that we were the cause of the malfunction. Nearly every part was replaced & they still refused to exchange it for a replacement new one. The modular home manufacturer received the same treatment appealing for us.

My Whirlpool oven (Model WFG505M0BS0) stopped working - the bottom oven part (the top burners were OK), the display on top functioned normally, but no fire came on. I called Whirlpool, and then I accessed Whirlpool online and scheduled service with their official service representative - Flamingo Appliance Service ** for September 9, 2020. When the repairman arrived on 09-09-2020, he opened up the stove and checked it, and he told me that a computer part needs to be replaced, as well as the igniter, and the cost would be between $400.00 and $600.00 (I dont remember the exact amount), I told SEVERAL times, maybe its just the igniter (for which the cost would less than $100.00 AND already included in the $134.95), but he insisted that the computer needed to be replaced, I did not like the way he explained it to me, it did not make sense. After that I was planning to buy a new stove, as the repair was too high. But, I decided to try to change the igniter myself before getting rid of the stove (the igniter cost was $21.00). I just got the igniter recently, and installed it, with help from YouTube, and what do you? THE STOVE IS WORKING!!! This is fraud!!! FLAMINGO APPLIANCE SERVICE ARE THIEVES, AND BY ASSOCIATION, WHIRLPOOL, WHOM THEY REPRESENT ARE THIEVES ALSO. I shall publicize to the best of my abilities: NOT TO BUY WHIRLPOOL PRODUCTS!!! This was not a mistake!!! This is the way they rip people off!! Either by paying exorbitant amounts for unnecessary repairs, or by buying new appliances when the old ones are still good. Dont buy Whirlpool!!! Dont use Flamingo Appliance Service. Theyre both fraudsters.

Purchased new Whirlpool 2-door, side by side refrigerator from Standards store in December 2010 for close to TT$10,000. For 2-3 years, it made a very loud noise. Each time it cut off that disturbed my peace and quiet. I complained, to no avail. In early 2015 or thereabouts I began experiencing severe warming problems in the non-freezer compartment and, since that time, I have suffered large losses from spoilage. The warming coincides with over-freezing (icicles, thick frost formation and whirling, dense cold air) in the freezer compartment and icing up of the vents in the non-freezer section. Moreover, the cool air flows from the top vent only when the freezer door is left open. Since that time Ive only been able to marginally cool the non-freezer section by unplugging for up to an entire day, at least once per week. I believe this is a manufacturing flaw rendering the non-freezer section not fit for its purpose although it manifested itself sometime after purchase. My prior experience with another brand has been totally different (13 years and still working). It is totally frustrating. It is also unsafe since spoilage is sometimes difficult to detect. Here, we have to deal with the seller and that is often a hopeless situation, particularly outside of the warranty, as has been my experience with another household appliance. Ive been advised by independent technicians who reportedly have encountered this problem that the solution lies in boring a hole connecting the two compartments which then enables efficient cooling of the non-freezer compartment. Quite frankly, I would like to have the refrigerator replaced despite the fact that it is outside of the warranty.

I purchased a Whirlpool bottom freezer refrigerator for my wifes birthday because my old one was old, ugly, rusted and didnt match. Since she likes to cook, it was her dream in life to have a stainless steel refrigerator with a freezer on the bottom. At the time, it was the only kind that would fit into spot. One year ago, first the ice maker leaked causing water to spill onto the floor. Since I am a mechanical whiz I bought the part for about $30 and fixed it myself. We were happy. After two years, the freezer worked, but the refrigerator part went warm. I had a repairman replace the control box for $100. It still didnt work. We called Whirlpool, and they said the warranty expired, but as a courtesy, would charge me $95 for a service call. That was not acceptable. They told my wife that the products were man-made and are prone to mistakes. I replaced the fan myself for $100, but drove a total of two hours to get the part since it was rare. It worked great. For one and a half weeks, we were happy. Then the refrigerator and freezer DIED. Only the light and the fan worked. We bought a old school used GE top freezer, but at least it is stainless steel. We lost $2000 in two years and the people at Whirlpool refuse to do anything about it because it isnt their problem. Worst refrigerator EVER!!! !

I am sure this will be removed quickly... But my advice to my fellow consumers is do not purchase Whirlpool appliances. They do not stand behind their products and they are a nightmare to deal with. I purchased my range (Model WEE730H0D50) May 8, 2017 and from that day the oven never work (the board was out on a brand new product). They arranged a service tech to come out 3 times. Each time the service tech discovered the replace board was damaged. So I have not been able to use my oven since I bought it in May. 3 months later now the stove top stopped working. You would think after all these issues they would replace their product. But nope I have to wait 2 weeks to get this lemon serviced again... I have young children at home which makes things worse...

Purchased a new Whirlpool washer and dryer at Best Buy 6 months ago. We complained to Best Buy and Whirlpool about our clothes not getting cleaned. In other words, my clothes are coming out of the washer dirty. My make-up towels come out with make-up, my husband’s fishing clothes smells like fish and my son’s bike riding clothes is full of dirt. Whirlpool’s answer was the technician is reporting that the machine is working fine. Whirlpool told me to use different cycles and detergent etc. and I have done everything they ask, but my clothes are still the same. I told them this is a defected item. A washer should do its job - wash dirt and smells out. I want a different washer and they refuse to exchange this item for another washer after a second call to technician. Best Buy is telling us there nothing they can do for us. What has America come to? The manufacturers and dealers are selling to consumers and taking advantage of them by not responding to the needs of the consumer. In other words, we the consumers pay for product, take time from work and personal time to reports these problems and we get nothing back, just the run around. Is there something we can do? What can we do? This is very frustrating. We work for what we need. We pay for what we need and we dont get what we need. On the other hand, the manufacturer and dealer get what they need, our hard working money. What can we, the consumer, do to get our hard working money worth????? Whirlpool has been my brand for years but I must say that after buying this
Whirlpool has been my brand for years but I must say that after buying this washer #WFW75SHEFWO from Lowes - on sale, which is clearly a lemon, that I will never buy a Whirlpool appliance again. Not because I believe all of their products are subpar, but because the service on these units is unacceptable. The first call for service repair resulted in the Appliance Repair Service company missing the first appointment due to being overbooked, rescheduling and missing the second appointment due to illness, and the third appointment the guy finally arrived nearly five hours late. Supposedly they were a man short. When the technician finally showed up he claimed it was the board and the pump and scheduled a time to return to fix it and then he never showed up... No call whatsoever. Clearly a lack of clear communication and no respect for a customers time. I called Whirlpool to complain. Nathan, a supervisor was attentive. I requested a different company and was refereed to Appliance Doctor in North Hollywood. Rosa, the customer service receptionist at Appliance Doctor, is quite pleasant, professional and clearly wants to correct the numerous missed appointments that keep occurring with her Whirlpool appliance repair company. First repair appointment missed due to illness, next he came and did not really inspect the unit completely, and third appointment rescheduled nearly a week later due to a death in the family. No other repairpersons? I am certain it will be a car breakdown the next appointment. I have no patience for bad management because it is always an extension of bad ethics, which if you believe many of the negative reviews on this site Whirlpool and their various appliance companies appear to frequently miss the opportunity to engage within an honorable sphere. This is a new washer purchased only a few months ago. One technician mentioned it was due to overuse of soap/. The other technician was adamant that it was a sock stuck in a pump. Really? He did not open it up or even check the unit with any thoroughness. Error codes are enough. I was informed it would cost me and that this problem of the unit shutting the door and not completing the wash cycle was not covered by warranty. I informed him that I would call the manufacturer and insist on the unit being fixed. I did so and Whirlpool agreed to cover the repair. My schedule has been adjusted repeatedly to be present for these various service appointments only to have them cancel with a text. Bad business. I called Whirlpool repeatedly and was informed that socks must be put into a wash sack and no rugs with rubber backing. Again, my jaw dropped. What? I had an Amana washer and dryer for over 12 years and they worked great! So sorry I got rid of the Amana washer now. The Whirlpool is a piece of junk... Poor design and the fact that they are okay with such bad service has me calling around to other companies for a new washer and dryer set that will be on par with my Amana set. Whirlpool is clearly keeping these appliance companies in a brisk business with such abysmal technology. I am on the phone with another Whirlpool rep, Tracy, who is very attentive and helpful. The music playing while waiting, sometimes for 30 minutes, is similar to a film score, which helps calm the anger of time being wasted.

Replacement part is cost almost half of what brand new product costs. When called customer service, they are aware of said problem but will not help, or recall above product. There are plenty of videos and forums of people complaining about the same issue. Being poorly treated by customer service, I know that I will no longer be spending my money on whirlpool brand. 3 years off of the water heater is a joke.

This microwave lasted for 15 years! Worked great. Started looking kind of bad after 10 years but still worked. Amazing! All their products are great and last a long time. Would buy again. Boil water in minutes.

We bought this Whirlpool two door side by side refrigerator freezer at Lowes at what seem like a good deal, until the problems start. On the refrigerator side everything freezes just as solid as the freezer side. We get to looking and find there is no air filter/damper installed. Try to call Whirlpool and you can forget it. 37 Minutes wait time, then a recording comes back and says now your wait time is 47 minutes, long story short you just get put on hold. No help what so ever. Lowes did give us an air filter. But we still got rock solid fresh eggs in the refrigerator. So it was not such a great deal after all. My wife has one big headache and mad as a hornet at Whirlpool. Bet we dont buy another Fridge from them. If I were you Id stay away from Whirlpool products. Have a great day.
