Buyers beware! I have had the Cabrio top loader washing machine for less than 18 months and it is already giving me problems. During the wash cycle, it sounds as though the gears are grinding to the point it wakes my family up two floors up! The spin cycle is a joke. The washer sounds as though it is going to spin off into another room! When I called Whirlpool, they told me to shut the circuit breaker. That might reset the computer. No go which I figured as much. I have had washers that lasted 10 plus years with no problems. It is not worth your time or your money. Never again, Whirlpool!

Favorite feature is the double oven. Both ovens are separate self cleaning. Top oven smaller, perfect for a pizza, cookies, small stuff. Great features for entertains, multiple foods can bake at same time. Ceramic top easy to clean, boil overs cannot seep under anything. I have had this oven for over 10 yrs, minimal repairs.

Whirlpool makes a beautiful product that does not last. I bought model WRX988SIBM in April 2015. Two years later the compressor is bad and no warranty coverage. Do not buy this model. It does not carry the Whirlpool 2-5 year sealed refrigeration warranty. Its amazing that an appliance that retails over $3K only comes with a 1 year sealed refrigeration warranty when Whirlpool offers it on other models. Be sure you know what your warranty coverage is before you buy any Whirlpool product.

Purchased water heater in 2005 with a lifetime warranty. We had our first problem May 30, 2013. Water would not heat above lukewarm. Called Whirlpool. Our plumber and Whirlpool determined that the temp sensor was defective. Plumber took it off and it appeared it had shorted out as the wires were black and plastic coating had slightly melted in one spot. We had replacement part in 24 hours. Licensed Plumber did repair (2 hours @ $75/hr = $150). Second problem occurred October 23, 2013. Not even 5 months later! No hot water. Hit reset button, turned temp up. No change. The diagnostic light on water heater indicated it was the same problem as before. Called Whirlpool. They sent out repair part which arrived in 24 hours. Licensed Plumber repaired (1.5 hours @ $75/hour = $112.50).I took a picture of the melted plastic caps where the wires screw into, of the housing around the wires, of the melted, charcoal crispy black of the Junction Box in the area that was directly above and covered the wires and sensor panel. It was much worse than last time. Plumber said that the part that screwed into the plastic cap had to be pried out and it broke off. You could see that this might be the spot where the problem started. We feel fortunate that we didnt have an electrical fire start from this problem. Something isnt right. Within less than 5 months, we have spent $262.50 to repair a water heater that has a lifetime warranty. Id like to give this 0 stars. Whirlpool owes us $262.50 and it might be more before this is all said and done.

Like many other reviews Ive read here this morning, I bought a Whirlpool Ca
Like many other reviews Ive read here this morning, I bought a Whirlpool Cabrio HE Top loading washer before I did my homework. I purchased approximately 2 years ago. While I dont seem to have the volume of complaints Ive read from others, I do have many intermittent complaints. As others have described, from day one I have gone from this uneasy feeling about how it is working to down right POd about the condition of my clothes after a load finishes.List of issues you will avoid by buying a different product: 1. Water levels SO low your clothes dont get clean. Yes Whirlpool, thank you for trying to save me $$ by lowering my water bill, but for goodness sake there should be enough water in the damn tub to cover the load. I literally watch dry clothing twist back and forth and NEVER go out (like they claim) to the edge of the tub and under then back up in the center. Instead they just sit there watching from the edge while the poor items of clothing in the center get twisted together.2. Powdered detergent, even if listed as HE will not dissolve in this low water level and will end up as white patches of film on your dark clothes. Suggestion to avoid this - dont use powdered detergent, but even if you use liquid HE detergent, you may still experience white patches of soap film on your clothes. It happens on all of them but shows up clearly on dark clothes. Setting the washer to always do a 2nd rinse cycle will improve the outcome. Not a perfect solution since the point of a low water washer is to use LESS water and not more by running a 2nd rinse on all your loads.3. No Consumer/User options to allow you to use the washer as you see fit. Since I paid a small fortune for this stupid washer and didnt realize that I would never again be able to dye fabric in my washer I am posting this as a warning to other crafty consumers. DONT BUY THIS WASHER if you ever want to dye fabric or an article of clothing larger than underwear. There is absolutely no setting on the washer cycles that will fill the tub with more than a few inches of water. The washer falsely has a mislabeled setting called Deep Water Soak. This is absolutely a LIE. Good thing I tested the cycle before putting my blanket in there to dye it. The cycle spins many times in the beginning pouring water into the clothes, then empties the tub and does it again. Then after 10 minutes into the cycle it begins to fill (if you want to call it that) the tub. After putting about 3 inches of water in the tub - not even enough to cover the top of the articles in the tub (I used 6 towels as my test subjects) it stops to soak. But stuff is still sticking up out of the water!!! OMG! So frustrating. This would not do for dyeing anything of value as you would not be able to agitate enough to ensure coverage of the fabric evenly with dye. Just dont buy this washer if you have, as I have in the past, enjoyed changing the color of linens and re-dyeing dark clothing that have faded! Whirlpool clearly didnt care about how consumers actually need to use the washer. I may try using this setting by pausing and filling it manually with buckets of hot water from my sink to get enough water in there to cover the fabric. Its just ridiculous that I even have to consider how to outsmart my washer!4. Smelly clothes. Seriously. I do the obligatory monthly Affresh cleanings, and I have learned to leave the lid open after the last load of clothes so the tub can air dry. However, I still from time to time pull a load out of the tub and it smells like mildew. And dont think for one second that the smell will go away when dried. I have opened the dryer and pulled clothes out, smelled the mildew and put them right back in the washer for a 2nd go round. Nothing worse than putting on a clean nightgown and smelling like mildew! Ewe!! With this awful washer you can NEVER leave a load of washed clothing sit for any length of time or you can look forward to smelly clothing. Hate it. Absolutely HATE it. Again, this defeats the purpose of using less water.Cant make myself spend more dollars that I dont have in the budget to replace this piece of crap. I have figured out all the workarounds for now, but as soon as I can replace it I will send it to the dump. Not going to resell or donate to anyone else as it would just be a burden for others. If there was ever a rightful need for a class action lawsuit to compensate consumers for false claims by a company - this is it! Hope this helps prevent anyone reading from making the poor purchase decision I have!

I purchased a front loader Whirlpool Cabrio washer/dryer in June of 2011. I was sold an extended warranty which ends June 30 of this year. I have made 4 calls to the Co which warranties the washer because it is making squeaking noises on the spin cycle. I was refused service because the customer service rep didnt “hear” anything. I finally had a local service Co check out the machine and was told the motor needs to be replaced and if under warranty I should demand it be replaced. I called again and still cannot get NSI to come out and see the problem.

Whirlpool Cabrio Washer WTW5000DW - I have owned at least two other washers
Whirlpool Cabrio Washer WTW5000DW - I have owned at least two other washers in my life, and I just recently bought a new washer/dryer set at HHgregg. Was told they are doing away with agitator washing machines in the very near future so this is my first experience with a top load agitator-less washer. This thing is AWFUL!! First of all it took a minute to get used to the weird popping, grinding noises it makes while going through the cycle (which I might add seems to take FOREVER). The other thing I hate about it is there is no way to add the fabric softener at the start of the wash in this model unless you have a downy ball of which I have yet to find at my local dollar store or even the KROGER??? So I run back and forth trying to catch the rinse cycle to STOP the machine (wait I might add) and then add the FS manually.BUT THE ABSOLUTE WORSE THING is - my clothes come out with SPOTS that look like lint all over them, and they wont wipe off unless you have a wet rag to do it with!! AND YES - I have cleaned this washer TWICE already since January with the very expensive AFFRESH. I wear scrubs and they are solid colors, so it really shows up and I have to wipe off every pair EVERY day before I put them on then roll a lint brush down them. WHO HAS TIME FOR THIS??? This is on my SOLID colors which is easy to see, I can only imagine the GUNK that is on the rest of my laundry!!! I dont feel like my laundry is getting clean at all!! I am divorced and money is tight - I paid around $500 buck for this piece of crap. I am already seriously thinking of getting me another one - the OLD tried and true kind with an AGITATOR! And yes I am ANGRY. Can you tell??

Absolutely read the reviews on this machine before deciding on a purchase. I have experienced with great frustration every issue addressed in other reviews. Clothes constantly have to be rewashed. The Quick cycle will leave your clothes in a puddle of water. But then there is no spin only cycle to correct that. I have purchased Whirlpool washers before with great satisfaction but this machine is not worth the money I paid for it and does not save me on water or electricity costs because of all the rewashing I have to do. Like others I am stuck with this machine until it dies. You lost me as a customer, Whirlpool.

I purchased a new home and then purchased 4 appliances, all Whirlpool Gold. In less than a year, the stoves electronic ignition and the microwave hood keypad went out. Since they were under warranty, a repairman replaced a bunch of parts and now they are working fine. One month after the refrigerator was out of warranty, the water line to the ice cube maker split about an inch and a half and water would spew out onto the hardwood floor under the unit. We were on vacation for all that month and didnt see any damage until one day there was a puddle in front of the refrigerator. When we pulled it out, we saw that the floor was ruined under the unit, the cabinet next to it black with mold and of course, the line had to be replaced. Whirlpool wasnt interested in the fact that the refrigerator had probably still been under warranty when the split occurred, only that we hadnt reported it before the warranty expired. Next to go was the water seal that goes on the inside of the door of the dishwasher. I was running it about a month after the refrigerator debacle and water came spewing out of the side. The seal had come out and nothing was stopping the water from exiting out the side of the door. Thats 4 for 4 in less than 15 months. I will never buy a Whirlpool product. They couldnt be any worse.

I have always liked Whirlpool products but it seems lately they are lagging in this department. My washer/dryer combo each separate I dont feel are doing the job they should be. Washer is the bigger problem. Softner dispenser not distributing the softner correctly and now I have to clean out after each use. These are about 10 years old now. Is not spinning all the water out and not at all sure if clothes are getting clean. Most of their products usually lasted much longer back a few years.

On November 22, 2013 I loaded my Whirlpool Quiet Partner III dishwasher and set it to start. About a minute later I heard an odd noise coming from the machine. I went over to take a look and saw black smoke and flames coming from the little vent area at the lower right corner of the control panel. I opened the door to stop the machine but the washer kept going throwing water all over the floor. I shut the door and ran and turned off the breaker and then unplugged the cord from under the sink. Two different repair service companies said they would be hesitant to try and repair it due to possible unseen damages. I was lucky that I was home when it happened. I could have lost my house to a fire. There is a large consumer lawsuit already in play regarding this very thing.

One month ago the freezer quit working. Lowes sent out a repairman who told us it would cost over $1000 to fix. This fridge is only 18 months old. I called Lowes and the Whirlpool and they offered to supply the parts. Repairman came out yesterday and said the refrigerator cant be fixed. Am now waiting for Whirlpool to call us back and tell us what recourse we have. Very disappointed. Fridge is now sitting unplugged in my kitchen. Will never buy another Whirlpool product again. If there are so many issues, there should have been a recall on these items!

Whirlpool Cabrio washer and dryer set bought 5/25/2012 - The washing machine started beeping during the drain cycle and I have to reset it. After messing with it for around 30 minutes I can finally get it to drain. Then last night the dyer started making a loud squeal. I called and it is not under warranty anymore, so I have to flip the bill. My last $75.00 set from a church sale lasted 15 years. I paid $1,331 and this is the worst piece of crap I have ever bought. Lowes will not fix the problem when there is 1000s of complaints. I would have never paid this much, if I knew it wasnt going to last!UPDATED ON 05/15/2015: Whirlpool sent out Appliance Hospital to diagnose the problems. The washing machine needs a new tub, seals, circuit boards, drain motor etc and the dryer needs everything + an idler pulley because the original one disintegrated. The part they want me to buy is the same one that already failed. The cost to fix it, is over the amount I paid. REALLY? Somebody needs to do something to help the consumers. Blogging doesnt seem to help. I am handicapped and I have to go to the laundry mat now because I cant afford another set. DONT BUY WHIRLPOOL.

As I write this my Whirlpool is roaring because a bearing is probably going bad. Ive owned this washer for maybe 5 years. They designed this washer poorly. If you leave change in your pocket as everyone does then it will end up in the bottom below the basket and get trapped. And it dislodges, and it will, when the drain pump engages it will blow the coin through and it will break the plastic housing. It needs two beads so that NO COINS can get through if you wash them. Very disappointed customer.

I purchased a Whirlpool electric range 18 months ago. Recently, the oven started overheating. The display reads Fault detected. Press start to clear. Pressing start did nothing and the oven door was locked as though it was in the self-clean cycle. We had to trip the circuit breaker to turn the oven off and allow the door to open. The food inside was ruined. After three episodes in one week, I scheduled a service call through the Whirlpool website. When the repairman came, he determined the electronic circuit board was faulty. His suggestion was that I buy a new stove since the repair would cost $425 (the part itself was $280). Not wanting to replace a stove that wasnt 2 years old, I went ahead with the repair. I called Whirlpool to lodge a complaint and although the customer service rep was polite, he basically told me that all electronic appliances fail sooner or later and the company will not stand behind this appliance because its out of its 12-month warranty and I didnt buy the extended warranty. He also told me the company doesnt have any record of this being a common problem or excessive complaints about these ranges. But I see many people on this site with the same problem. I wish I had read this site before I bought this stove. Since I cant afford to replace my appliances every year and a half, this will certainly be my last Whirlpool.

This $1,000+ Whirlpool Cabrio washer high-efficiency machine should have lasted between 10-15 years, not 1, not 2, not 3, not 4, not 5! To expect less is to fall for the consumer cave in - where you just give up, give in and buy another. The Whirlpool tech just told the appliance repair guy that was here that the repair would involve a recirculating water pump and a bearing, and would cost $481 to repair. The appliance repairman said he is not in business to condemn appliances, but said he has a Kenmore top loader at his house. Simple, no electronics and less things to go wrong. Well after researching brands and reading reports, I thought I was buying a machine that would last at least as long as my second hand Maytag. Whirlpool has not heard the end of me. I have heard several other people say the same thing. Repair bills are huge and machines do not hold up. So much for buying quality. Now Im going to contact the MA attorney general for the states implied warranty, which means if you spend your money on any appliance, that appliance has an expected lifetime of service. A $1,000+ machine is not expected to fall apart after a few years.

I purchased a 40 gallon water heater at Lowes and installed about 3 years ago. A couple of weeks ago, it got an upper sensor failure code on the gas valve. It would heat by resetting (turning valve off, waiting a minute and then lighting) but after a few minutes, it would fail again. I called the customer service and they mailed out a new upper sensor. When it came a few days later (I paid for shipping), I installed it but the same failure code. Again, the only heat I could get was by resetting the valve several times before a shower. I called customer service again, told them what I did and they said, Oh, the problem is the gas valve then. So they mailed out a new gas valve unit. It then came a few days later and I installed it according to the enclosed directions to the letter. Still got the failure code and still had to keep resetting it to get any warm water before a shower.I called customer service again, told them what I did and he said, Well, did you flush the water heater with apple cider vinegar before you installed the new gas valve? I said, No, it wasnt in the enclosed directions to do so. He said, You should have done that and it would have worked. I will send out a new gas valve. At this point, I blew up. Two weeks with no reliable hot water. I told him I want a new water heater and he refused. I asked to speak to his superior. He said no. Dont ever get a Whirlpool product. Some other crappy company builds these turds.

Be very careful when you buy this heater. It will go bad within a short time, and you wont have any hot water heater. You call Lowes, they wont take it back, they will tell you to call Whirlpool who may send you a part or send someone to fix it. No hot water for many days. Again, after a short time, it will stop working and by the time you get it fixed, again no hot water for a long time. This is the pattern with this piece of garbage. So you get disgusted, rip the thing apart and take it to Lowes for a refund.. Sorry Dude, they wont take it...it is stated in their receipt or on the literature that came with the heater. Your best bet... put a bunch of dents in the heater and tell them it was damaged when you opened it... Lowes will be obligated to refund the money. With so many complaints on Consumer Affairs and other web sites, why is Lowes still selling this heater and no other brand??? Maybe Superbowl tickets or a trip to Hawaii for the buyers...who knows...but one thing for sure, since Whirlpool does not respond to these complaints, I will guarantee you that their other products will suffer in sales because, I for one, will not buy another Whirlpool product.

I dont take pleasure in writing this review and to the readers, please know that this is the truth without bias. Before you buy from Whirlpool or purchase their extended warranty, you should know: I am writing this review based on my personal experience. I purchased the extended warranty in 2017 (approximate) for three years. In 11/2018, our Whirlpool dishwasher, model wdt920sadm2, which was purchased with our new home in 06/2016, began having issues and was not drying the dishes properly. I called Whirlpool warranty and requested service.Approximately 10 days later, a repairman from Convenience Appliances Service Inc. (repair tech) came and fixed that problem (wasnt drying). My wife turned on the dishwasher the very same day and we came back and the floor was flooded with water. We believe this was contributed to the initial repair and has never happened prior to that. Fast forward, approximately 5 service calls or more later (not embellishing), the dishwasher is still not repaired and the technician can’t figure out where the leak is coming from. On 02/25/2019, I received a phone call from Ms. **, Whirlpool/AIG care team (AIG is the underwriter) and was offered $540.75 and I would be required to complete a “proof of destruction affirmation” form.I accepted the offer and received an email the same day stating: Thank you for contacting Whirlpool Extended Service Plans Consumer Care Team. Per our conversation, I have attached the affirmation of destruction for your dishwasher. Please verify the information, sign, and return to us. Once we receive the affirmation of destruction back, we will start to process your prepaid debit card. That card takes 10 to 15 business days to process and will arrive to you by FedEx. If you have further questions or concerns regarding your Whirlpool appliances, please contact us directly by calling toll-free (866) 931-7390 to reach a representative for immediate addressing of these issues between 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. ET daily, or by emailing AIGservice@whirlpool.com whenever the need arises. Sincerely, Mable. U.S. AIG CARE TEAM.That same day, I received an emailed the affirmation of destruction form back to Whirlpool on 02/25/2019. I was impressed at the time that they reviewed the repair case history and made this fair offer. My wife and I began to look for a new dishwasher and canceled the future service appointment with Convenience Appliance Services because of the offer and acceptance. On 03/01/2019, I received a call from Convenience Appliance stating that Whirlpool contacted them and they are taking back their offer because their employee (Whirlpool) didn’t follow the terms of the contract. I called Whirlpool/AIG care team and spoke to ByonBera who stated that she was sorry to hear this complaint and would forward this to her manager for resolution. On 03/04/2019, I received an additional call from the Convenience Appliance Services Inc. and they stated that Whirlpool representative was not very nice to them and that they still wanted them to come out again to my residence on 03/11/2019. On 03/04/2019, I called Whirlpool/AIG care team again, and spoke to Tandy, who again apologized and read their company script and that they are sorry but still reneged on their offer. She then transferred me to John, who again read through his script/terms of the policy. I explained in detail that Whirlpool contacted (as per their email) me directly and they made the deal. I never called and asked. I completed the affirmation of destruction as requested and was promised $540.75 within 10 to 15 days by FedEx. John stated that he would have to kick this up to their resolution department above him to see if this can be rectified. John stated that this has never happened where the customer is involved (mistakes are normally caught before the customer is contacted) and that he could understand my complaint and frustrations. I received a call back from John on 03/04/2019 that Whirlpool will not keep their offer and that a repairman will go out as scheduled even though they made the offer without solicitation! Incredibly upsetting and disappointed!!! I have never experience anything even close to this from a major company like Whirlpool. It is evident that they don’t keep their word, that customer satisfaction doesn’t matter even if they are 100 percent wrong, and that their dealing are very deceitful! We since canceled our order for a new dishwasher and are now forced to wait for the next repair attempts again. If you get anything from this long-winded review, really think twice of making a Whirlpool purchase, or their extended warranty! Whirlpool really could care less of their customers and in addition, their warranty, in my opinion, is a scam. After this I, nor my family will ever purchase a Whirlpool brand appliance again. So please be careful and learn from my experience. Never again! Whirlpool should be ashamed of themselves.

We purchased a number of Whirlpool appliances (dishwasher, double door refrigerator, Duet stackable washer and dryer). After 14 months, the ice maker broke. $200 later, it was repaired with an upgraded kit.Last week, the washer error coded and the door locked so we could not get out the wet clothes. Called customer (no) service and they advised that we needed to call a service tech because he has a special tool to unlock the door. I stopped by our local appliance store and the counter person told me how to open the door. Had the tech come out for $70 and it could be the lock mechanism or the control panel. It turns out to be the control panel, which costs $250 + labor and would total to around $500, give or take a little. We are in our 60s, my wife does not take in laundry and the ice dispenser was seldom used because I can sneeze ice faster than this can dispense it so I open the freezer door to get my ice.The tech and the store clerk said that these were common problems with these machines. This was a major expense when purchased. So far, the dish washer has not had any problems, but tonight might be the night. The reason we bought Whirlpool is because of the Maytag connection, now that is in the same toilet.

We purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio model # WTW6400SW3 in 04/08. Approx. 6 months ago, the washer started to be un-level during the spin cycle. This has progressively become worse, it now becomes un-level during the rinse cycle. We spoke with the appliance store where we purchased it, ;hey said the repairs could cost $400 or more. Thats nearly half of what it cost new. Like other complaints Ive read, cheaper washers have lasted years longer than the Whirlpool. Our last washer, a Kenmore, lasted 15 years.

We bought our first Whirlpool 4 door about 4 years ago. Within the first 3 or 4 months the ice maker stopped working which was repaired. Then at 3 years the compressor went out and of course no cooling or freezing. Since we had bought this at Lowe’s they loaned us a fridge until ours was taken care of and told us to call whirlpool. When we called they said they would do nothing for us. Between them and Lowe’s we were finally able to get the refrigerator replaced by paying another $1,000. We have had the new fridge for a little under a year and the ice maker stopped working. While trying to get it working by their service repair people the cooling and freezer stopped working. The service people said the compressor is bad. We called whirlpool again they will not replace the refrigerator and said it will have to be repaired. The service company says compressors are on back order and don’t know when they will have one. All of this has been going on for 3 weeks at this time and who knows how much longer. I had to throw all of the food in my freezer away and as well as most of what was in the refrigerator. I am now buying ice every other day to keep some foods cool so we can have something to eat. We are 82 years old with a very limited income and find this very difficult to deal with. Whirlpool’s reply is sorry but they will not do anything since the fridge is under warranty.

We bought our Whirlpool Cabrio in 3/09 from Lowes for $1000. Like many of you, we thought we were purchasing a quality product that we would use for many years. I never thought my clothes were getting clean, but I thought it was just because I wanted to see them floating in water. Its been 3.2 years and now were plagued with the code F51. Whirlpool is definitely aware of the many problems with these machines. They are also, obviously, unconcerned about the problems we are experiencing. Whirlpool will never stand behind their products if they dont have to. Please go online and write reviews everywhere you can. If we warn people and cause Whirlpool to lose a few dollars, they just might decide to stop selling junk. I plan on starting with all the stores in my area.

This is a horrible washer. It leaves a white residue on dark clothing and the clothes need to be rehashed. There is water that settles in to the fabric softener dispenser. Now the washer is leaking. My husband replaced the tub seal or whatever since he found this could be the problem while searching the internet. It is still leaking and we have no idea from where the water is coming. I agree with the other person that the Whirlpool customer service cares not that theyve manufactured a defective product.

Whirlpool washing machine was not a good buy at all specially after using it and seeing that over the years I had to incur high costs of maintenance. Over the months and years of buying Whirlpool front load washing machine, I had to replace motor twice, digital display twice, motherboard twice THAT TOO at a very high price every time something broke. This time the angle that supports the drum broke and Whirlpool says drum needs to be replaced. HOWEVER, after waiting a month company says DRUM IS UNAVAILABLE. Which means my machine has become absolutely useless just because Whirlpool does not have the spare. Whirlpool has a ridiculous track record with poor service and poor product quality. Manufacturing in one country and selling it in another WITHOUT SPARES is defective and poor service, totally unreliable. Wouldnt recommend Whirlpool to anyone.

I agree with the comments already made. My crisper drawer plastic rectangular piece just literally decomposed! It shredded into little pieces and cracked and broke, dropping one side of the draw set. I called about it - nope, not under warranty - replacement cost? Merely $150 so my drawers could be in the refrigerator. Also, because of the stress of the angle the drawer holder was when it broke, it cracked the drawer at the back - and the drawer had one grapefruit in it at the time. (Not considering replacing - cant imagine what that would cost when the little brace piece approx 14 was so expensive.) The flap - yeah, it split. I am a single person, no kids EVER in my refrigerator and I travel so much that I am barely home 20% of my days. The refrigerator gets very little activity opening and closing the doors yet the flap sliced. HOW DOES THAT HAPPEN??? With any break in the seal as they called it, the refrigerator starts collecting moisture inside (and I live in the desert so we have very little moisture in our air) and drips or starts causing frost build up on the icemaker. Yesterday, once again, the icemaker stopped working. When I asked about replacing the flap I was told the entire seal needed to be replaced @ the cost of $232 PER DOOR!! Right now with just the plastic rectangular piece and the bar between the two drawers (BTW the rollers on the frame are not included with the frame purchase they announced) I have $614 in repair parts WITHOUT fixing the icemaker! Last night water was running in my refrigerator from the icemaker. I WILL NEVER BUY OR RECOMMEND WHIRLPOOL TO ANYONE EVER AGAIN. I have been a Whirlpool ONLY customer for over 45 years!!!! They told me that I had to schedule an appointment with a service person at a minimum of $100 cost to me - JUST TO FILE A COMPLAINT with Whirlpool! They only take complaints from service people submissions. I advised the Whirlpool representative to start looking for another job because if this was the way they treated lifelong customers, her job may be eliminated due to No Customers! Does Whirlpool seriously NOT CARE about their customers? #WhirlpoolSux #WhirlpoolRefrigeratorsAreMoneyPits #WhirlpoolDoesntWantCustomers #WhirlpoolDeservesToGoOutOfBusiness #DontBuyWhirlpool #WhirlpoolFrenchDoorRefrigeratorsHorrible #NoServiceFromWhirlpool #WhirlpoolDoesntStandBehindProducts

Came to my lake house to find the temperature was 90 degrees inside and the oven was running full blast. The oven had turned itself on. Whirlpool appears to be having a problem with this type of issue. Called their customer care department and was transferred to the appliance safety line which was only a line to leave a voicemail. Very bad customer service. My kitchen countertops and kitchen floor will need to be replaced, also cannot get rid of the burnt smell in my house. Do not recommend purchasing Whirlpool appliances.

I bought this Whirlpool Duet Sport washer and dryer, and I have had to constantly bleach out because our laundry smells like mold. I found out that Tide sells a special cleanser for this washer so I have been using that for the past two years. It did not really help. Well, today I accidentally put laundry soap in the wrong dispenser, so I took the dispenser out and was horrified to find mold that was all in the back where the fluid is dispensed, I mean way back in there. I have been suffering with sinus problems, and swelling in my eyes and face. I even went to the doctor, but no one has figured out why. I now know it is the mold from my washer making me sick. Well, my son and daughter-in-law were staying with me, and commented on how bad it was when they used my towels. I am stuck with a $1,600 washer and dryer that is making my family sick.

I have had my Kitchenaid dishwasher since April 2010. I have the receipt as proof. I have recently had a professional out to replace a seal in the door, the gasket on the vent and the unit still leaks. The only places left are the metal body and door. I called to say I wanted the warranty honored. I was told one of their servicers had to verify. I agreed. Their servicer came out at the agreed time. He did not bother to protect my hardwood floors from his muddy shoes. He also absolutely wreaked of cigarette smoke. He proceeded to try and push me into paying for the same repairs I had done last week because he would not warranty the parts under warranty unless I paid him to replace parts a week old. I told him he was here to verify the leak not push me into more repair costs. At this point, he began slamming his tool box together and exclaimed Thanks for wasting my time. I called the Kitchenaid warranty number in my pamphlet to see about the warranty. They refused without making me pay for their esteemed professional to do the same work, a real professional already did. The best I was given was 30% off a new appliance. When they wont honor their 20 yr warranty on the one I have, telling me their unprofessional is so much better than the one I used who did protect my floors and treated me with respect, I have no faith left in this company or its servicers. I will be filing a complaint with the BBB. I plan to be very vocal with this companys refusal to stand behind their products and explicit support of disrespectful servicemen.

Our original dishwasher lasted many years and did a good job until it didnt. We replaced it with this one that we found at Home Depot. It is not the one we wanted but the delivery was months away and this one was in stock. It does a good job in cleaning the dishes. The only issue I have is that the top rack is not designed for large mugs or glasses. The wine glass holder has 3 slots, but we can only get two in based on the spacing. Also, our mugs dont fit, well on the other side, inside the fingers. Maybe our dishes are on the larger side...I dont think so but like I said earlier, it does a good job cleaning the dishes.

We purchased a Whirlpool Duet Front Loading Washer and Dryer. The control panel on the washer went out in March. We called for a repair. The repairman came, told us we needed to replace the control panel and he would order it. My American Express was charged $389.91 on March 26th. I called today, April 9, asking about where the part was and when my machine would be repaired. I was told the part would not be available until July 11, 2013. I cannot believe that a company would expect a customer to wait nearly four months for a part as well as charge them for the parts and labor four months ahead of the part. When I called, I was first told that there were 15 parts in stock, but then was told that there were not any available to me. I have cancelled the service but it will take them three weeks to credit my card back for the part.

Over the last 3 years, the self-cleaning oven has decided to lock the door and clean itself with my food still inside on five different occasions. There is no way to override the lock. We purchased a Whirlpool Gold Induction range, model#WF1910H0AS0, from Lowes Home Center for ~$1700.00, about 1.5 yrs ago. One night my wife was cooking dinner on the stovetop and she heard 2 loud pops and the whole cooktop went dead. We had Bobals appliances repair look at the range and they gave us an estimate of $800.00!! to replace the module board. The repairman said the module board had shorted out and burned. Thankfully my wife wasnt electrocuted. I contacted Whirlpool customer service, they said, There isnt anything they can do. The warranty is only 1 year. I also contacted Lowes customer service. They told me the same thing as Whirlpool, nothing they can do, 1 year warranty, etc. I have the part# of the module in the stove, W10390743, serial#31811552. After an internet search, this part # had been superseded, which tells me Whirlpool knows they have a problem. These ranges need to be recalled. I plan to contact the US consumer product safety commission to initiate a recall. Please inform consumers if they have this Whirlpool induction range with this problem, to also notify the Consumer product safety commission.

We bought our Whirlpool Cabrio 7 years ago and it was great at first. I have not had any trouble with it ripping clothing. The clothes are clean. Its constantly breaking down. First it was the drain pump. Then the main computer board went! I called Whirlpool and of course the lady says its not covered. I had back up though. Google is amazing! I asked why this wasnt a recall as all over the web, people had this same problem. I pushed and pushed and she put me on hold. Came back to say it was in fact covered. What? Really? What changed your mind? She wasnt allowed to tell me. Supposedly had something to do with the date of manufacture. So okay, they send the repair guy out, its fixed. Now tonight, the lid locks and nothing happens! This repair was about 6 months ago. Grrrrr. Its been one thing after another with this hunk of expensive junk. When I buy an appliance I expect it to be problem free for far longer than this. I am not getting a code or anything, just dead air. So frustrating with three kids not being able to do laundry when I need it randomly :( Has anyone else had this problem? The lid locks, then does nothing. I unplugged it, pressed off and restarted it. Changed settings. Nothing is working.

Within six months of moving into our new condo, the microwave started making noises like something was loose - like a fan or something - it would sound as if something was catching and would be quiet and then begin making noise. Mostly noisy but once in a while quiet performance. In talking with adjacent condo owner, he said his had just started making the same noise. Asked some of the other neighbors; many said the same thing. Some had theirs repaired; others were ignoring. We had all moved in within a few months of each other in our Phase of completion.Called Decker and Sons where microwave purchased; they said Too bad. Call Whirlpool direct. I did. Was told I could pay to have repaired through a service company. When I said several residents had been having the same problem and it would seem a recall should be made, I was told that 250 similar complaints had to be received before a recall would be considered. If I could find that many, I should contact Whirlpool. Well, that was obviously not possible. My next door neighbor had his repaired before he sold his unit; the new owner recently said she had just replaced the Whirlpool stove because of the poor oven performance (which I have also experienced even though I ungraded) and microwave due to the noise it made. I have also learned that three other neighbors paid over $100 each to have their microwaves fixed over the last few years. I have just continued to use mine. Today an error message came up but a motor noise continued. Came to my computer to check on Error Message meaning and found this site and registering complaint for an obviously poorly constructed/engineered microwave. Obviously, Whirlpool does not care or listen. I will not buy another Whirlpool appliance! I will do my best to warn anyone purchasing appliances to not buy Whirlpool. Had the company admitted poor quality, no problem, as a production problem can occur but to knowingly disregard and ignore is inexcusable.

This microwave is one of the best Ive ever used. Ive had several brands from generic on up and this one takes the cake. Its very reliable. It works excellent and heats up fast. Ive had no problems with it working to full capacity or any fear of it breaking down. Its pricey but well worth the cost if you want worry-free warming and cooking.

Absolute junk. Bought an entire matching set 2 years ago. Fridge, microwave, dishwasher and oven. Oven is the most user unfriendly thing I have ever bought. That’s my fault. Microwave failed. 300 to replace. Ice maker in side by side fridge failed, another 300 dollar fix. I used to have a field mouse or two get into the house every year. Don’t have that problem anymore because the fridge is so loud it scares them off. Talking to Customer service was the most frustrating thing of all. They think if they say your name in a nice soft tone long enough it will make everything ok. Mother and father raved about Whirlpool products. How times have changed. Do yourself a favor and steer clear of these products. Also, look up the other brand names made in the same factory and steer clear of those as well. I used to think appliances were all the same. How wrong I was. Do your research. It will save you a bundle in the long run.

I absolutely hate this Cabrio machine. This should be off the market. Shame on them for selling this. Salesman sold me a bill of goods on this washer and dryer. I have to wash some clothes 3x or hand wash. Whirlpool told me to use bulky or delicate cycles, as this puts more water into the machine so my clothes will rinse clean (doesnt work). When I wrote, they didnt even offer to make a service appointment. They know they have a bad product! I agree. Greed.

I purchased a washing machine in year 2002. It was working perfectly. Recently, its drive belt started slipping. I called local service center, S. R. Enterprises, with mobile number 9204792391.The technician came after 3 days and declared that the gear box is leaking and will have to be replaced. They had no gearbox in stock for model f45, top loading, fully automatic. After a wait, they took away the machine to their workshop on 30.09.2011 and returned it on 04.10.2011.They charged me Rs. 4,730. I will have to be replaced. I found that its LID, which was perfectly okay, is now making a terrible sound when opened and would fall down, not allowing to load the machine. I informed the service center immediately. After many reminders, a man turned up yesterday and declared that the LID will have to be replaced and I will have to pay Rs. 2,000 for that. I rang up the service center to say, Since it has been damaged in your workshop, you should replace it free of cost to me. Their reply was evasive and negative. I called your call center and they registered my complaint - customer number **, comp. number **. I was assured that the LID will be replaced within 24 hours.

We purchased our oven new in a package deal with the rest of our kitchen appliances four years ago. The bottom heating element in the oven has already stopped working. Every oven I have seen in my life has lasted a minimum of 15 years, and most 20. All I can say is DO NOT BUY WHIRLPOOL APPLIANCES! In the past 4 years, weve had the repair technician work on the Whirlpool refrigerator (once), dishwasher (3 times), and microwave (3 times). Now, the stove isnt working correctly, making this a total of 8 home visits by the Whirlpool repairman. Whirlpool is manufacturing trash for the landfill now, not quality lasting appliances.

I bought my topload washer 2 years ago along with a dryer. The past month, the washer started sounding like an airplane, ready to take off, whenever the spin cycle was on. Then, it started to not start at all on certain cycles or would start to pump water in and then stop suddenly. I had a repair man in today, and it was not good news. He told me that he sees this a lot, especially with the Whirlpool washers and it is costly. The bearings are shot and will cost close to $500 for parts (alone), not costing the price to have it repaired. So now, I have called Whirlpool. The people there are very friendly and sympathetic. But even though I went as high as the supervisor (the highest authority I could speak to), he told me my washer is not on the recall list! I asked what it took to get it on one. Basically, my complaint was filed and end of story. Well, not quite. The supervisor was kind enough to give me the address for the Head Office for Whirlpool Canada. So people, start writing into this address and bombard them with your frustration: Whirlpool Executive Office, 200-6750 Century Avenue, Mississippi, Ontario L5N 0B7. If you have spoken to Whirlpool, ask for your reference number pertaining to your case and include it in your letter along with your phone number. In the meantime, I will be writing a lengthy letter; and I also went out today and bought another washer! Yes, it was not a Whirlpool, and I will never have another Whirlpool appliance in my home. And I will steer anyone away from this brand name. Good luck to all and start writing!

We purchased our side by side refrigerator from Lowes. When it was delivered, we noticed the freezer door was rubbing on the ice maker and would not close properly. The refrigerator was replaced. Then about 10 months later, the water dispenser stopped working. Service came out and said the water line had ice in it (we do not keep the freezer on high). They replaced the water line in the door. About 6 months later, after the unit was out of warranty, the same thing happened. We called Whirlpool and they said there was nothing they could do, because the unit was out of warranty. I cleaned out the water line tubing myself and the unit worked again, but the problem occurred again several months later and it does not seem right that the water dispenser line should keep freezing up. In addition, every two months we have to take the ice maker apart because the ice will no longer dispense because of an ice buildup in the ice cube container. We used to think that Whirlpool made reliable products, but with these problems and Whirlpools unwillingness to correct the problem, we will never buy their products again. They have lost a long time customer because of their products now and their customer support.

Whirlpool WRF989SDAM00. We bought this junk April 22, 2013. 7 visits from service guy throughout the entire year we have had this, problems began almost immediately. Whirlpool gave us a 3 month complimentary warranty (which is up at the end of June). Same problem is back (back left corner freezing up and I think it has also made our ice maker not work nearly as good as it should). We called a few weeks back to report problem yet again, the rep on the phone treated us very poorly. They said they have a new part that is currently on back order that is going to fix the problem once and for all to which my husband replied: I do not have much confidence this will fix the problem as you have sent 5 or 6 new and improved parts over the year and all has failed. He then asked, will you extend the warranty once more, and they said NO. We are stuck with a ($2,700) piece of crap that they just keep trying to find new parts to fix it! On a separate call we asked for a refrigerator replacement to which the rep basically laughed and said that will never happen!! What course of action can we take here?? This company is dead to me!

I thought I would research Google to see if others were having the same problem. I was VERY disappointed to see all of the same issues others were having with this high end washer. I contacted Whirlpool on 3 separate occasions. Each time they told me to have the plumber call them so that they could determine what the problem was. Each time he was able to get the water heater going again, but it would only operate for about 3 months and then it would go out again. To date, I have incurred $245.00 in plumbers service fees. My last call to Whirlpool was on 5/14/2013. This water heater was purchased on 1/25/2010 at Lowes in Evans, GA. It went out over the weekend, but the plumber was able to relight it. I had to pay $136 installation fee and two years later the exact same thing happened again, the plastic cracked. I have contacted Whirlpool which took a complaint - said that was all they could do. Ive contacted the store where I purchased it, they can do nothing. I read online there are many complaints about the lid on this washing machine. It shouldve been a recall. I will never purchase a Whirlpool product again. I will not pay to have it repaired again. I will give it away and purchase something else not whirlpool and not from Lowes. I bought a new Whirlpool gas hot water 40 gal tank from Lowes. I Installed it, but the pilot light would not light. So Cal Gas Co came out and said they did not like the new design, but that was how they were now making them. Gas is shot out from a pipe into the tank, however its fairly open. The pilot ignitor is similar to the one on barbarques that often do not last. You cannot get to it to light it manually. Several calls were made to Whirlpool and they sent a repair man out to fix it. You can imagine buying a new hot water heater and having it work part time. The repair man explained that the unit needed a new thermopile, but he could not put one on until whirlpool authorized it, which they would not. After a rather heated conversation with whirlpool they agreed to FedEx a part overnight. Of course the repairman could not wait for me to call and had to come back again. The pilot light still does not stay lit, and Whirlpool now wants to talk about how the tank is vented. This has nothing to do with the pilot light, nor did putting in a new 1/2 gas line and valve as per Whirlpools request. Whirlpool has a problem and they refuse to acknowledge it. However, it is Lowes that chose to buy from whirlpool and they do little if anything to stand behind their product and gain consumer confidence. My suggestion would be dont buy whirlpool, and shop at Home Depot.

Lid locks our clothes in when the machine malfunctions and we have to barter with the machine for hours of Google suggestions to get the clothes back out. Still dirty. Or still soaking wet, not spun. I purchased a 50-gallon Whirlpool natural gas water heater (12 year warranty) from Lowes approx 2.5 years ago. Just before Thanksgiving, the pilot light started going out once a day, then twice a day. Now, I can light the pilot light in Pilot mode but as soon as I release the red button, the flame goes out. I called Whirlpool and received phone troubleshooting support resulting in a recommendation to pick up a new thermocoupler from Lowes which I did. While searching for someone to install (unfortunately Im not that handy), I ran into the thousands of complaints filed about the very same problem Im having over a number of years and right up to todays date. I called Whirlpool back and got the same song and dance. Theyd be happy to help me troubleshoot if I can get the required meters etc. to test devices, do draft tests, etc. They claimed the problems were fixed with the newer model that I have but certainly cant explain why I have exactly the same issue. What they are not willing to do is stand behind their product and get me hot water. Tried calling Lowes and got the response that I have to deal with Whirlpool. It appears that this newer BFG model is just as flawed as the older model and the warranty is pretty much worthless other than getting a few parts. I used to think that Whirlpool products were reasonably good, however, I will never purchase another.

Washer does not clean clothes period. Darks come out covered with white soap residue and smell dirty regardless of how little soap is used or with using extra rinse, which takes 84 minutes by the way. Whites only seem slightly cleaner since hot water is used and you cant see the soap residue. If you wash more than 5 or 5 items at a time some do not even get completely wet. Bought the model before this just over 2 years. Conveniently it broke just after the warranty expired. I chose not to buy a extended warranty as my last fridge from KitchenAid is over 20 years old and never had a single problem with and still operates like NEW. I can’t say that for my Whirlpool which was very expensive. It has been with an issue within the ice maker for over 8 months. Every computer board has been replaced twice with no fix. Then tried to replace the cooling fan within the ice maker unit seven times. Whirlpool could not find the right part, as the wiring had changed mid model and have no record of when it was changed and what models affected.Certified Whirlpool technician was great and so apologetic. I had taken 7 Mondays off to meet him to only have the wrong part time and time again. Whirlpool support tech line basically said he was wrong, yet I witnessed all visits and my 3 plug fan unit did not match Whirlpools newer part that was 2 plugs. I was not happy missing so much work because Whirlpool is incompetent. Finally my tech ordered a whole new ice maker, including the cooling fan. Lo and behold, Eighth time, parts did not match. He again called Whirlpool tech support and reordered another set one final time. Another Monday to find that this time the parts did fit, but cooling fan still did not work. He called Whirlpool tech support again. They started to trace wires one by one.Whirlpool tech support said it was a bad or broken wire somewhere in the cavity of the fridge buried in insulation and was not replaceable. In other words I have a $3000+ refrigerator that is useless. Whirlpool said they would replace the unit. But when I called, they said since I didnt have an extended warranty, they would prorate it and it’s going to cost me over $1000 of my money to to replace due to a manufacturer wiring defect after only 2 years. What the Heck, I was willing to pay to fix it, but Whirlpool can’t fix it. Don’t buy a Whirlpool product as they are Junk and do not stand behind their BRAND!!! No matter who I talked to, they kept falling back to their word track of it’s my fault I didn’t get an expensive extended warranty, yet they can’t fix a wire they installed incorrectly.Wires don’t just break after 2 years. You get longer warranties for cars for the Love of God. I asked them to just send me the money they were willing to put towards a new Whirlpool fridge, so I could buy a Real Brand that stands behind their products like KitchenAid. Of course the answer was NO. Buyer Beware, don’t buy a Whirlpool anything. Did I mention my Whirlpool certified technician was having a Whirlpool dishwasher issue that Whirlpool can’t fix and that’s his profession. Same type of response. Don’t Buy Whirlpool Products, they are Junk and you will get No support from Whirlpool!!!

My $1800 French door refrigerator is only 20 months old and the ice maker has quit working. They sent out a repair person 5 times and replaced parts three of those times. Now they are saying it is unrepairable and are refunding my contract fee of $345 and leaving me with a broken ice maker. When the problem started it was making ice just not dumping it. Now it doesnt even get water. Throughout this all, two months, I have had to constantly call them to find out our next move. They say someone will call me in 2-3 days but they never do. One of The last people I talked to said, Well you can still keep food in it. I dont feel that is reasonable considering I bought a refrigerator with the ice maker in it. I finally called Whirlpool corporate instead of the service contract people to see if anything could be done and was told someone would call me back in 2-3 business days. Well its been a week and big surprise - have not heard from anyone. It is looking like we will have to purchase yet another refrigerator in less than two years. The service people I talked to were rude and really didnt seem to want to help at all. I believed when I purchased this Whirlpool product that they were a reputable company. Sorry to say that is not the case at all. I dont know if the refrigerator is really unrepairable or if they just gave up trying to find the issue. I purchased the machine December of 2010 from Lowes along with the matching dryer. I also purchased an extended warranty. A year ago July the lid on the washer broke at the hinges. I contacted the warranty provider and was told that the repair would not be covered under warranty and the damage was operator error. I purchased a new lid for approx. $250. One year later the replacement lid broke in the same location. I have tried to get a response from Whirlpool no response. I contacted Parts Select and inquired about changes that should have been made to correct the lids. He was not aware of any changes but did advise that the part had a new number which he indicated probably meant a design change. I ordered a new lid just under $250. New machines have a metal frame around the glass instead of the plastic frame which keeps failing. The springs that hold the lid in the upright position are so stiff I can hardly move them by hand. I am very disappointed in Whirlpool quality and consumer support. I will not purchase any more Whirlpool products.

Whirlpool Cabrio Washer WTW7340XW sounds like a small jet during spin cycle
Whirlpool Cabrio Washer WTW7340XW sounds like a small jet during spin cycle. The Whirlpool Cabrio Washers have a very well known and well documented problem with the tub bearings failing. Many many disgruntled owners have posted their complaints online, and there are many videos showing the issue on youtube. This issue is so prevalent that the manufacturer has created a tub bearing failure repair kit for $350. The repair is so expensive and labor intensive that many of the certified Whirlpool repair shops no longer work on the Cabrio washer stating that a better washer can be purchased for the cost of this repair. That said, the manufacturers customer service group denies that the Cabrio tub bearing failures is a common problem and are quick to state that Whirlpool holds no liability for this problem. Ramping the complaint up to a customer service supervisor is met with the same canned response. Regardless of the thousands of complaints Whirlpool is claiming that it is normal wear and tear for the tub bearings to fail. The manufacturer should recall the units for this manufacturing defect in the Cabrio design.

WTW6340WW0 - When washing clothes, on the last spin it stops and gives an UL error message. I make sure all the clothes are level and restart at that point but still the UL error message appears and water starts leaking from the underneath of the machine. Weve reset the and unplug the machine but no difference. Please help on what else to do.
