On the 27th March 2012 I bought a new Whirlpool 6th Sense washing machine S/N 411048002028 AWOE 9210 - 30 9Kg for E499.00. I brought it home and plumbed it adding in a lime filter on the water line to protect it from limescale. On the 14th September 2016 a service technician replaced the entire drum as the old one made so much noise and the ball bearings are part of the drum. On the 7th June 2013 a technician replaced the drive belt claiming that it moved if a light load was put into the machine. On the same day I added an extension of 3 years Guarantee at Euro 89.00. On the 14th October 2013 a technician examined the machine for a water leak but found nothing and charged me for the call. Out E25.00. I lived with the noise of the spin cycle ever since. The noise got steadily worse until 27th September 2016 when the machine finally packed in. I stripped the machine down to find the ball bearings on the drum completely rusted over so the drum was rotating without the cushioning. On the same day I bought a Bosch machine and decided to forget about the extra guarantee as the offending parts had already been replaced once and did not even last 4 years. I will bring it to the recycling yard later today as that is all it is good for. It was bought in Media World, Orio Center, Bergamo. It was paid for by Gianni ** who is my father-in-law and had a loyalty card for the shop.

Just like others we have lost time and food because of the constant problems. Avoid @ all costs!!!! Apparently they only care about lining their pockets and not the consumer.

The Whirlpool washer and dryer I bought new four years ago has been nothing but a giant on-going headache. No end to the error codes for washing machine. The dryer knobs broke off after two years. The washing machine works only when it feels like it, and important pieces that get a lot of wear are made of plastic. I will never buy Whirlpool again. Ever. Good luck to anyone that is brave enough to buy Whirlpool appliances. I have to say it again: Whirlpool is garbage, junk and unreliable.

What a POS. Havent even used the thing to cook a meal yet and already some chunk of metal fell out from the port at the top left inside the oven (behind the vent). It was clearly cheap pot metal. What else is this thing made out of?

We purchased a Whirlpool Gold self-cleaning oven three months ago and have had nothing but problems with it. First of all, the new aqua clean system is a joke. I ended up scouring the inside with cleanser and a scouring pad for over 30 minutes to get all the baked-on food that the aqua clean system did not get off. Now Im not wanting to use the oven to cook anything that splatters. Secondly, the oven does not cook when using the convection mode. I thought convection was suppose to cook quicker but in my case, I have to cook the food longer. Thirdly, the bulb burnt out in the oven after only three months. Im glad we are trying to sell the house because I could not live with all the problems very much longer.

Do yourself a favor and do not purchase any Whirlpool gas heater product. There are numerous poor reviews on Whirlpool water heaters. The one I purchased, 50 gallon Whirlpool water heater; I had to replace the control valve three times. After the third time, (the water heater was less than 18 months old) I gave up and purchased another product. Whirlpool would not replace their poor product, but did replace the control valve, each time, which cost $100,00 labor each time. After the water heater was taken out, there were visible leaks on all connections. (A licensed plumber installed it.) Over a period of time, I lost a total of three days work, was w/o hot water three times for two days each issue. I hope I can save the next consumer similar difficulties with this product. Check consumer reports before purchase of this product. There are numerous complaints. Also, local plumbers can advise on how many issues they encounter with this product.

Purchased a Whirlpool double door refrigerator and within a year the freezer and refrigerator doors were severely out of line. Called repairman who said the risers were broken, they were plastic and needed to be replaced. We did that. The doors were again out of line so badly that you had to push the refrigerator door side hard to get it to close. Repairman came today and stated he would recommend ditching the refrigerator as the risers in the bottom of the refrigerator are made of plastic and will continue to break. He leveled the doors but stated that they will continue to become out of line again. The repairman stated that this is a design defect in the Whirlpool refrigerator and he has replaced the risers in many of the refrigerators repeatedly. As if the refrigerator isnt enough, we own a Whirlpool Duet Washer and Dryer. Within 3 1/2 yrs the motherboard went bad in the washer and we had to replace it. The part and labor was almost $400. Whirlpool considered us a valued customer and offered us a comparable washer for $500 and they would take ours away for $20 extra. Only problem is that our original washer was $1,000 and the comparable was not as large as the one we had and did not have the stainless ours had.All I can say is if were valued customers I would wonder how they treat their less valued customers. All of this is to say that I will no longer purchase any Whirlpool products. Not only are the products below par but the customer service is non existent. They really do not care if they lose customers or not. They dont want to hear your woes about their appliances.

I purchased a replacement gas range (whirlpool) approximately 3 years ago.
I purchased a replacement gas range (whirlpool) approximately 3 years ago. Its not the top of the line, no bells or whistles such as a self-cleaning oven or such. I did love the three huge grates on top, one which is interchangeable with a flat grill. If it only worked it would be a decent range. The center oblong burner struggled to ignite in full from the beginning. Often, I light the thing with a grill lighter. But the thing that pisses me off more than anything is the F2 error that appears 70% of the time on the control panel when I am preheating the freaking oven. I am NOT replacing the control panel on a $400.00 range. What I have discovered is I can hit off my power at the main, not once, but 2-3xs and reset or over ride the damn thing. I read this F2 code is a common occurrence so I got to thinking, why? My conclusion is the heat from the oven is vented up & directly on the control board panel. Really now, whos bright idea was it to expose a control board to repeated temps of 350+? Hate this appliance. Next range will NOT be a new one, Im looking to replace this junk with something mom or grandma had that lasted decades, not a couple years. Shame on you Whirlpool for producing such low quality, disposable products. By the way, I just went through this with a new fridge so theres much to be desired with new appliances. Theyre junk, designed to fail.

Bought a Whirlpool dishwasher approx. 3 years ago from Home Depot and it just quit working. Troubleshooting did nothing. Called Whirlpool to make sure there was no recalls on it. I have owned many Whirlpool appliances and bought this last one because of past good experience. Turns out, after $300 plus repair, it was the control panel. The repairman said, This should not have happened, it is like new. I asked him if he thought it was a lemon? He just looked down, it happens. I am so disappointed in the quality of Whirlpool. I no longer can just buy their products with confidence.

I have owned a Whirlpool Gold Series Refrigerator for one year and 9 months. During that time I have had 7 repair issues. Each of the past ones took at least two weeks to repair. This past repair has to be redone because the new parts are also bad. The part is now on factory backorder. It will be at least two months for this to be repaired. Whirlpool says its too bad, we just have to deal with being without a working refrigerator for months. Do not buy this product!!! The warranty only means that you are forced to wait months for repairs. They will not replace, refund, or even extend the warranty for all this downtime. You have no recourse with the company.

I purchased a Top load Whirlpool washing machine, replacing my old Whirlpool. I am so unhappy with this new one. I noticed that the water level are low...I had the tech here twice and they said that if here isnt any lights on the dash that the machine is working. I called the head tech, same answer. When I put the clothes in the washer I make sure that the clothes are evenly placed in the tub. The clothes comes out tangled and some not clean. Tonight I noticed that a pair of pant at the bottom of the load had white smudges/ I am so unhappy with this piece of junk/ I cant afford to buy another washer, so I am stuck with this.. I have tried all the different controls, still bad. I know the new machine are different than the old ones. I still believe that the water levels controls are not working. I have used my sister new washers and the clothes are not tangled and they are all clean.

The duet washer is just over one year old and started showing F25 code on screen. It had been making a really loud noise in the spin cycle. Last week, a really loud noise and then the loads wouldnt be spun. There was a puddle of water on the floor near the machine. We had a repairman out today and he stated that theyre repairing these machines all the time. He stated it was the bearing and that theyd been told that Whirlpool had installed bad bearing from a different supplier. I called the Whirlpool experience and after 4 minutes and 19 seconds, I actually spoke with a service rep. She said since my machine is less than one month over the one year warranty, Id have to call the extended warranty people. I asked for a supervisor and after 2 minutes and 38 seconds, she came in line and wouldnt budge from her story. They also stated that there are no service issues with this model washer. Extremely poor attitude and Whirlpool is doing everyone, whoever purchased a duet washer, a terrible job on these washers. At least, Ive now found out that there are a lot of other folks out there with the same problem. We need to get some attorneys to start a class action just like the mold/smell customers did already. Sad, sad day for Whirlpool as Id been a customer all my life.

Whirlpool Microwave model #GMH5205XVS0 - Same story as many of these other reviews. Similar reviews on Amazon as well. We bought a new house early in 2011 with all Whirlpool appliances. We have gone through 3 magnetrons in 2 yrs. Now Whirlpool wont do anything for us. We will have to buy a new microwave. It just stopped heating all 3 times and the magnetron was replaced. Now it has happened again. Ridiculous. I will never buy a Whirlpool appliance again. This model # should be recalled. Its a lemon and sounds like it could be a danger as well.

I purchased this Whirlpool, model YGY397LXUQ04, electric range in midsummer 2011 and used it very infrequently for approximately 5 months as we were away for 6 months during the winter. On approximately June 15, 2012, we found that the keypad would only register 350 deg. F for the oven if we pushed the bake button two times and the oven temperature would go up to 550 deg; F if we pushed the 7 button 3 times. In discussion with the service manager from Whirlpool, he advised that the stove was out of warranty and they would supply parts at no cost but we would have to pay the labor costs which in my estimation would cost over $200. After searching the internet for similar problems, it was evident that this problem was not uncommon. I am concerned about the quality of this product and if it can possibly be a fire hazard. I would not recommend this product as the quality, possible safety issues and reliability are a significant concern.

We bought a Whirlpool Cabrio washing machine a year and a half ago. It started making loud noises over time and finally stopped. Whirlpool did advise us that it was out of warranty but suggested they send a factory repairperson out. They told us depending on the problem they might pay the bill. It turned out that a nut holding the pulley had not been tightened up properly at the factory and had no restraining device, so it simply rattled off over time. Since we dont use the machine that much, the problem went past the 1-year warranty. It cost us two hundred and fourteen dollars for repairs. I could have put the nut back on myself for free. The service guy also said they had multiple similar problems and I should contact Whirlpool and they would probably work with me. No chance. They only kept repeating that it was out of warranty. I even talked with a supervisor who said the same thing. I asked to appeal further and she refused to give me anyone else I could contact. I asked for their legal department information, and she said she did not have that and I would have to get that through my attorney. What a joke. No more Whirlpool for me.

Whirlpool French Door Plus 3 drawers: This MSRP $3400 refrigerator has great features. Great ice makers. No issues up top. First 18 months were great. 4 repairs in the past 11 months. All freezer temp issues. We had noticed a number of ice sparkles forming on our unopened food. Frozen fruit was mushy. Temp usually read 0 degrees. One day I opened it and the temp was 40. Two hours later, it was close to 0. I started monitoring it closely. High temperatures occurred around noon. Zero degrees most of the time. After the third repair, service tech called Whirlpool and found part was redesigned. New part didn’t help. We understand the freezer has a heater in it, to defrost. The heater stays on too long. That explains why the freezer temp went as high as 50 degrees, while the fridge was perfect.I purchased this at Lowes. I always buy Lowes extended warranties. Thankfully, they bought back my 30 month old refrigerator. Kudos to Lowes warranty company. Never put on long holds. Fast response. I noticed the price for the warranty on refrigerators in this price range has increased by $100. Reflects a lot of repairs on refrigerator models. One thing though. I learned 3 repairs within a 30 day period is considered one repair, for purposes of their lemon policy. I will also add that the warranty company reimburses you 50% of the cost of filters. Simple process. I have read complaints that they make it too difficult to collect. That is just not true. Have been reimbursed $100 for filters to date. In 5 years, Even at the increased price, the savings will pay for the warranty. No brainer.

Additionally, it’s so annoying that we will not be keeping the range. If I needed a nightlight, I would buy one. Very poor design. The lights on the other appliances go out when not in use, one would think the range would have been designed to do so as well. I have NEVER had a problem with a stove light being too bright. Bought this washer NEW 4 yrs ago. Now sounds like a freight train in the house when in use. Whirlpool customer service is absolutely USELESS!!! They do not stand behind their product and refuse to acknowledge what is a common issue. PISS POOR and will NOT give me a number to a higher up. Absolute disgrace!!!UPDATED ON 10/28/2015: This is an update to my previous review. 1st, I contacted Whirlpool who was absolutely NO help whatsoever and the person I spoke to refused to put me through to higher ups on the food chain. I was wrong in my previous review when I stated that we purchased the washer & dryer 4 yrs ago. It was purchased in January 2012. Started making noise in 2014 and has progressively turned into the sound of a freight train. I also failed to mention the stench that comes from this machine. It has also got to the point where it quits with 10 minutes to go in every wash. Whirlpool did send out a Whirlpool certified technician, which they paid for, who stated this has been a common issue with these and other models of Whirlpool Cabrio wash machines. Says in his 3 yrs with the company he has seen and diagnosed over 30 machines with basically the same issues (bearings are SHOT) and Whirlpool refuses to accept any responsibility for the defective design and that, in his opinion, they shouldve never been released. He gave me an estimate of $257.13 to repair. We decided to go ahead with the repair and technician came out only to tell me that there has been a re-work in the design of the replacement parts as Whirlpool realized they were faulty. So I now have to wait for the NEW designed replacement parts to come in as they are back ordered. WTF does that mean??? Shouldnt there be a RE-CALL and shouldnt they accept responsibility for this??? This has been, without a doubt, the most disappointment weve had with any purchase of a NEW appliance or, anything else for that matter, in our lives. After reading through some of these same complaints Im wondering if this machine is nothing, but a money pit and whats going to go wrong next. We also purchased the Cabrio dryer at the same time and have had no issues with it as of this time, but I assure you, I wait with baited breath. Their customer service department is piss poor AT BEST!! Please, stay away from ALL Whirlpool appliances in the future.

Bought Whirlpool French door refrigerator. Unit was defective when delivered and I told them so. That was on 06/14/2013. Unit got progressively worse and finally has quit completely. At Whirlpools suggestion we bought a Whirlpool Repair Plan Plus One (another scam) for $300. Repairman came out and told us the refrigerator couldnt be fixed. I have owned two different Whirpool washers over the last several years, and they have both been a very big disappointment. More than that they have cost me money, time, and peace of mind. The Duet was my first experience with a Whirlpool appliance. It was a front load that I replaced the water pump on twice and constantly had to take the front bottom piece of the washer off to clean the trap on. It had been taken off so much that the machine actually just fell apart. It also had some type of mold or mildew problem where it made the clothes smell. It was a constant headache.I was stupid and allowed a salesperson from HHGregg to talk me into purchasing the Whirlpool Cabrio washer. Another huge mistake. Again, cost me time, money and peace of mind. I have owned the washer for a COUPLE OF MONTHS, and the clothes that I have washed smell so bad that I cannot use the washer anymore. I tried to call customer service, but it is impossible to get any help because the lines were so backed up, I have not had the time to sit and wait for an available person. Not to mention there is an extensive process of pushing lots of buttons before you are put on hold to presumably talk to a human being. I assume this is because so many people are having so many problems with their Whirlpool appliances. It is not surprising. I bought a new washer, a GE. It is awesome! When I have the patience and the time, I will try to call Whirlpool again and see if they are willing to do anything about the washer that at this point is just sitting in my garage taking up space. I spent around $600 on a washer I only got a few months of use out of. When we moved it to the garage, we could hear water swishing around, which explains the horrible smell of the clothes. Once I started having the issue, I went online to see if this was an easy fix, and it turned out that LOTS of other people are having the exact problem, to the point where people are trying to get a class action suit going. Do yourself a favor and avoid the hassle of dealing with this company. If you purchase a Whirlpool washer, I guarantee you will be sorry. Trust me, I was stupid enough to do it twice. Hope this helps someone avoid the headache these appliances have given me.I will never buy Whirlpool again. And by the way, Maytag is made by as well as the following: Admiral (Canada), Chambers, Coovert (acs), Crosley (newer fridges, a/c, washers), Danby (8, Estate, Inglis, Ikea, Kenmore (see Sears), KitchenAid (4), Kirkland, Maytag Epic®, Roper, Speed Queen (Canada only), Sub Zero (undercounter ice makers), Whirlpool.

Our new Whirlpool Side-by-Side Refrigerator is very versatile as it serves the needs of a busy, family kitchen. It is heavily used storing cold foodstuffs to feed our family of four, plus two active grandsons. Being able to re-configure the shelving space enables us to adjust the main compartment accommodating items of different sizes (think a thawing turkey or a 24-can case of soft drinks!) to ensure our most functional usage. The same can be said of its freezer space - it too features built-in slots to reposition shelving for varied size packages and boxes. Convenient in-door water and ice dispensers round out the beneficial features of this attractive appliance.

We purchased a 50 gallon water heater in 2005. In 2008, the thermocoupling unit went out and Whirlpool sent us the replacement part and we had a plumper install the piece (at our expense, of course). Now, we are running into the exact same problem 3 years later with the pilot light not staying lit. We had a plumber come out this weekend and replace the part but unfortunately this time, its not fixing the problem. The plumber charged us $178. He said that he can replace the thermostat on the water heater but that would cost us close to $400 to replace and makes no sense to do since purchasing a new one wouldnt be much more than that. I am so frustrated with this water heater; I just want to throw it out in the middle of the street! We still have 3 years left on our warranty too. We purchased our brand new home ten years ago and we were thrilled it had a double wall oven unit that I had always dreamed of owning. Well, the first time I used the self-cleaning mode that dream became a nightmare! The oven was in cleaning mode and I was so happy as I had never had a self-cleaner before! When the cleaning was done, the door remained locked and the control panel was not working. After making sure it was cooled the next day, I called for warranty repair. They came out and fixed it and apologized for the inconvenience. I was thinking it was just a glitch and went on with life. Due to my husband’s business, we only live in the house part time as we do extensive traveling. My children are grown, so my cooking is mainly holidays and birthdays when we all get together. Since it is used so seldom, the need to clean is not as often as others might be. The next two times I cleaned it the same thing happened. The third time they came out they informed me that it was getting too hot in the cleaning mode and the steam was going into the computer panel and melting the electrical wire. They also said I would no longer be under warranty and from now on it would be my issue. The next two times I cleaned the oven, I did so the old fashioned way and skipped the self-cleaning. This week my oven started beeping and giving me a code and will not work. I called my trusted repair man and this is what I learned. The computer board is probably toasted. They no longer make the board, so he will have to send it out to be rebuilt. This will take 10 to 14 days and the cost will be somewhere in the neighborhood of $650.00! Are you kidding me?! How is this my issue? I have checked faithfully every few months, assuming that others are having the same issues, and that Whirlpool would be doing the right thing and recalling these ovens. Stupid me! This last time I had not even used the oven in three days and it still went out? I am old enough to remember when the first place you went to look for appliances was Whirlpool because they were good, they lasted and the company stood behind them. Oh, how the mighty have fallen. From now on they will be the last place I look! I’m not sure what is going to happen, but I can assure you I am not spending $650 to repair this piece of crap!

We have had this dishwasher since 1983 and we still run it on an average of 6 days a week. Features are the fact that it has given all of our dishes, our silverware, our pots and pans sparkling clean looks for all those years. It fits nicely into the kitchen space which was designed for a dishwasher. It never needed a repair. After all those years, this machine still looks fine. After all those years I really doubt if it still has a warranty and it never needed service.

I purchased a washing centre at Canadian Appliance Source. I paid to have it delivered, installed and for them to take away my old appliances. I had several issues and when I called the store, they sent me to Whirlpool warranty who dispatched a repair technician a few days later. With nothing solved to my satisfaction, I called Whirlpool again. I spoke to a customer service rep who gave these responses, she put me through to a manager who gave me the same responses. When I asked to speak with someone above her, she said she could put me through to another person at her level but noone at a higher level.I want to hear the same response again? Really? Her only other answer was to email the Whirlpool Executive, which will be my next step. This is a summary only of my experience of the first few days after the purchase.Problem: The first load I washed was 1 set of blue sheets with 2 pillow cases. The water didnt seem to cover the load but I thought when it started to wash, they would get wet. When I took the sheets out of the washer, there were several dry spots and some kind of residue on several areas, so not washed or cleaned as expected. I tried washing one sheet, same thing. Tech solution: Put in some wet items to the load so the washer thinks the load is heavier and will add more water, or add a bucket of water to the load, Really? Whirlpool response: The washer is working as expected. Really? Problem: I did a warm water wash, expecting the machine to dispense a mix of hot and cold AT THE SAME TIME making it warm water. The washer starts with cold water then stops and puts in hot water. I dont want cold water or hot water on this load I want warm as recommended by the manufacturer! Tech solution:Dont use warm water wash. Really? Whirlpool response: Works as expected. Really?Problem: Dryer is way too hot on the delicate cycle, not good for delicates! Tech solution: Use the air dry cycle. Really? Whirlpool response: Dryer is working as expected. Really?Problems I didnt even discuss: The load is really really wrinkled when it comes out of the washer. Who wants to have to go back to ironing everything they own? The washer tub and dryer are really really small! I should have read more reviews and headed the warnings! Comments: I purchased online, biggest mistake. The store will not take it back. Whirlpool will not take it back. Hindsight is 2020! If I could have given negative stars, I would have.

Purchased a new home in Florida. Builder used Whirlpool appliances. For a year opening the refrigerator door has caused breakers to trip off. No matter what builder and Whirlpool do, breakers keep tripping. Cannot sell house with this issue. If someone was counting on electricity for a medical device they could die when refrigerator causes power to go out. Unfortunately, it looks like legal action is the only thing that will save our investment in the house.

I purchased this machine in April 2011. Adequate performance until this past fall. It did not drain properly and began to smell, then stopped working. I called a local certified repairman who discovered an item of clothing trapped beneath the basket blocking the drain pump. $109.00. Less than 2 months later it happened again. The repairman returned and again found a blocked drive shaft under the basket. $109.00. When it happened a third time I called the Whirlpool repair line. A serviceman was sent out and immediately knew what the problem was (prior experience). He removed the basket and once again there was an article of clothing under the basket, blocking the drain pump - $129.00. At this moment it is beginning to smell again. I spent 40 minutes on the phone this morning with Sears and Whirlpool. No help whatsoever. This machine is not even 3 years old. I never overload it and clean it regularly. I bought the washer and dryer as a set because they are quite visible in my home. I have had Whirlpool products for over 40 years and never had a problem. I need someone to stand behind this machine.

Bought a Whirlpool Gas Range model WFG530S0ES0 in Nov 2015. Eleven months into owning it the oven wouldnt heat up. Turns out the motherboard and wiring harness needed replaced. Since it was within a year of purchase, parts and labor were covered. Dec 2018 the same darn thing happened. I called Whirlpool and they basically said, Tough luck, lady. Was I surprised, not in the least. I talked to a supervisor who said that they dont have a single complaint on their Gas Ranges. Did I believe that, not in the least. Whirlpool finally agreed to pay for the parts but not the labor. Whirlpool supervisor said that equipment failure occurs. I said theres a difference between reasonable equipment failure and unreasonable equipment failure. For a 3 year old Whirlpool gas range to failure twice, with the same problem, is unreasonable failure. The supervisor said in such a pleasant voice, Basically too bad for you. Oh and have a Merry Christmas.

I bought model N40S61-403 gas water heater. I had it installed, and then I came to find out that you cannot common vent with another power vented unit. I contacted Whirlpool 3 times, and got no help, other then it was hooked up wrong. The issue I have is that the water heater’s pilot light puffs out when the furnace kicks on. These 2 items are common vented, in the installation guide. It does not say anything about common venting until page 11, and even then, it is not in bold or highlighted letters. Now the unit’s pilot light is going out without the furnace kicking on. Once again, I got no satisfaction from Whirlpool, other than it was hooked up wrong. I realize that I am the one who is ultimately responsible. Hopefully, they put something on the box, or earlier in the guide to warn novices, such as myself. As for Whirlpool, that will be the last product of theirs that I put in my home, and as soon as possible, I will be removing 3 other appliances during a kitchen remodel, and will replace them with a different brand.

Aqualift is a Joke. We recently remodeled our kitchen and purchased a new Whirlpool range model #WFE710HOAE. It came with a feature called Aqualift Technology to clean the oven. The button you push to start it says Aqualift Self-Cleaning. I followed the simple directions and when it was finished I was surprised to find that nothing was clean. I tried it again with the same results. I had to then clean some of it with the enclosed scrubbing pad. You cannot use any cleaners except one that they also send a small sample of. In short, it was like the old days cleaning my mothers oven with a scrub pad and a lot of elbow grease. I spent 30 minutes getting it somewhat clean. I am so disappointed and mad that Whirlpool can just blatantly mislead consumers this way. No one wants to buy an expensive product such as this and have to clean it by hand. You get as good a result if you do not even use Aqualift. My last range lasted 20 years and all you had to do was take a wet cloth and wipe out the residue. Whirlpool is at best incompetent and at worse criminal and purposely misleading with this and other similar models and should recall or be forced to recall and replace these with a working technology. I am surprised that the Federal Government has not stepped in. I would be very supportive and would participate in a class action lawsuit on this matter. As I stated in the beginning, this product is a joke.

Whirlpool Cabrio 4.3-cu ft High-Efficiency Top-Load Washer - I wanted to buy American. My Sears front loader (I had for 13 years) died and I couldnt get someone from Sears here to fix it. So I bought this Whirlpool from Lowes 4/20/15. I want to be able to wash sheets, towels, clothing and sometimes a blanket or a sleeping bag. I re-use my washer water for the garden and use no chemicals or fragrance in my washer soap. When I bought this, my washer had died. I was kinda desperate to buy a new washer. I went to Best Buy and Home Depot. There were ads all over Lowes advertising: Same Day Free Delivery + Installation. While there was no one in the Appliance department, I went to track someone down so I could pay and get out of there. I was told that it would take 10 days to get any of the washers I was interested. I didnt have 10 days, so I called my appliance repairman and he came to get the washer and install it. The deal breaker is that this machine vibrates the clothes clean - not water, so the fabrics are trashed and the sheets get all tied up. I had the factory repairman come and he told me you cant do comforters, more than a sheet or towels in this washer because its energy efficient! I should take my towels and sheets to a commercial place!! I called Whirlpool and wanted to exchange for another and they were not at all agreeable. No one else complains. Even after I looked on the internet for reviews on this machine 250 out of 350 had the same complaints as I did. I cant even donate this to a homeless or animal shelter if they dont suggest you wash sheets and towels in it!!! This rule was nowhere in the literature and the info on the top door doesnt say that either! Imagine my dissatisfaction!!! What homeowner doesnt wash towels and sheets???

This machine, like all other water sensor machines, will not let you wash a few items that are lightweight without filling the whole machine up almost all the way. The reason being is that if the items are light, they will float in the water above the water level and the sensor thinks it needs to put more water in and even with putting something in to weigh it down like a wet towel doesnt always work, nor should you have to do this. You will waste more water in the long run if you only have a few items to wash, ie baby clothes, underwear, rags, etc. I am so disappointed that I had no other choice but to get this machine.

I have a two-year-old top of the line Whirlpool Duet Steam washer. Cleaning performance is adequate at best, but my biggest complaint is about the visible mold buildup that collects on the water dispensing plate as well as on the detergent, bleach and softener dispenser and rubber lining of the washer opening. I have cleaned the removable detergent dispenser weekly since purchasing. The water dispensing plate has a continuous buildup of thick black mold that can only be removed with a tooth brush and bleach and only a small portion of those openings are reachable. I have cleaned the machine with Affresh as recommended and exactly as the manufacturer recommends. Nothing changes! I contacted Whirlpool and was told this was normal for all washers in which some moisture always remains and that I should continue to clean and leave the door and dispenser drawer open to allow the areas to air dry. So, I have done all of those things for the past year and nothing has changed! I received notification that a class action suit had been filed against Whirlpool for this mold issue but have not been contacted in any other way. Not only is this mold visibly disgusting but certainly is worrisome from a health perspective. When I contacted the company a second time, I was told there was nothing that could be done and it was in no way a design flaw on the part of Whirlpool.

Whirlpool Cabrio washing machine is less than five years old. First repair was replacement of control panel (under warranty). Second, third and fourth attempts to fix the out-of-balance problem which continually caused the machine to shut down altogether (even a small load) left my repairman totally frustrated after replacing most of the parts, finally telling me it just cant be fixed! What? I paid over $1,000 for this machine in Oct. 2007 and expected it to last many, many years. My mother-in-law has a washing machine she bought used in 1979 and it is still working beautifully. Ive read the 14 pages of complaints on the Consumer Affairs website and agree with Diana in Kissimmee, Fl - I am sick to my stomach not only for Whirlpool not recalling the Cabrio, but for Lowes and Sears and any other supposedly family-friendly business for continuing to sell it! This Whirlpool dishwasher is the worst dishwasher I have had in 45 years of using dishwashers. I have bought dishwashers, but now rent and so am stuck with this one. Initially, I complained to the landlord about the dishwasher not getting the dishes clean, so the repairman came and recommend replacement. Unfortunately, it was replaced with the same brand. The new one didnt wash any better than the old one so I pre-rinsed everything and the dishes still come out with sprayed dried food on them. The spray holes in the arms fill with food no matter how thoroughly I rinse the dishes. The silverware in the door rarely is clean. The filter is always coated with food particles. The top shelf is always worse than the bottom shelf. I have used inexpensive GEs before and nothing compares to the poor quality of the whirlpool.

I unplugged / plugged in the machine, took off the top & checked connections, and let it sit overnight. I could not get it working. Speaking to a local repair technician via phone, he indicated it is likely the control board. Whirlpool changed that part from part number W10406632 to part number W10427967. Before spending the money on a service call, he suggested I contact Whirlpool to see if it is under recall. I contacted Whirlpools customer service. They told me the washer is not under recall but I may qualify to purchase their Repair + 1 service. When I expressed frustration at spending so much on a product that lasted only 3 years I was told This is not a known quality issue or recall. I will document a complaint for you. The chat session was then terminated by the customer service representative. We will spend over $300 to replace the part that Whirlpool obviously knows is flawed. However, I will not pay for an additional Whirlpool repair service to fix something that should not have broke in the first place. And Whirlpool (including Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn - Air, etc.) will never get our business again.

I completely forgot that I wrote a review on our Whirlpool hot water heater model FG1H5040T3 Nov in 2010 until I received an email telling me how many people read my post. Surprise, Surprise guess what we are having problems with again. You know how nice it is to have hot water anytime you need or want it. Well, not at my house. The hot water heater worked for about a year (Im probably being nice with the time here). Heres our problem now, once the water heats up the pilot goes out. It will not stay on. Ive noticed that if its full the pilot light will not come on, so we have to run some water to be able to light it. Well I called customer service, a waste of time. The guy told me that my heaters warranty expired last year and his suggestion is to go buy another heater. REALLY! All I wanted to do was order a part for it. He did send me an article with suggestion of things to check. Sorry, we already did everything in the article, another waste of time. It seems we are not the only ones (model #) with problems with Whirlpool. Whirlpool used to make good products but its not anymore. I will NEVER buy another Whirlpool product again.

When I moved into my current home, this dishwasher(Whirlpool Quiet Partner 1) was already installed. It had never been used until I moved in. After two years of 2-3 times a week use, I have major problems. It will not complete a wash cycle, regardless of what settings I use. It runs long enough for the soap dispenser to release the Finish tablets which dissolve, but then the dishwasher stops running. The dishes are not clean, and neither is the interior of the dishwasher. It also appears to be leaking when it runs. I cannot afford to replace it, so either I will repair it myself or use it to store pots and pans. This is not my first disappointment with a Whirlpool product. A Kenmore refrigerator made by Whirlpool lasted 7 years before the compressor failed. Apparently, the self-cleaning coils werent and caused the compressor to fail. The refrigerator I have where I now live is a Whirlpool over 20 years old and runs perfectly. Apparently Whirlpool quality has deteriorated badly in the last two decades. I will never buy another Whirlpool kitchen appliance because of the dishwasher and new refrigerator experiences. When I searched the Internet for fixes for both appliances, I found many other owners having the same problems I have had.

[Model WTW6300WW0, Type 580] A few years ago Whirlpool goofed - they left out the Perma-press cycle on a high-efficiency washing machine model. We noticed the absence of Perma-press (or Casual as it sometimes now called) on the shop floor, and were assured we could arrive at the same results with the dizzying array of buttons that allow the consumer to tailor the cycles to their wash load. It turns out that it doesnt allow this. Buttons are disabled on some of the cycles, thereby preventing recreating a Perma-press cycle. No amount of prodding... Whirlpool has provided me with an override for the combination of a normal wash and a gentle spin that comprise a typical Perma-press cycle. On contacting Whirlpool about the missing cycle, they claim consumers no longer want the Perma-press cycle. Puzzled by this statement, I returned to the showroom floor to see for myself. All the washers have Perma-press cycles. Whirlpool goofed with this model. They left it out. They have not provided a replacement machine for a consumer who blows this whistle on their goof. Among the solutions their customer support DID provide: add softeners to the rinse cycle and add dryer sheets to the dryer to reduce wrinkles [by purchasing a high-efficiency machine, we aimed to reduce waste, not increase it]. Among their invalid suggestions: choose the Casual cycle [there is no Casual cycle setting on this machine]; choose Normal cycle, then set spin speed to low [this machine disables the low speed choice on the Normal cycle]; on this machine the Perma-press cycle is renamed Delicate [Wrong. Delicate only swishes clothes back and forth, not robust enough for business shirt colors and cuffs]; on this machine the Perma-press cycle is renamed Colors [Wrong. Business shirts come out too wrinkled on Colors]. There has been nothing I can do to convince Whirlpool that they produced a lemon in this model [Model WTW6300WW0, Type 580] and should replace it with a normal washing machine. I have tried for years, only for Whirlpool to come to the same conclusion: its the consumers problem now, not theirs.

This thing is supposed to work for 6 years & I havent been able to keep it going for 6 months! Help please! Can I get a different one? This one hates me! Being widowed & having a metal hip, it’s hard to get safely into the attic to restart it and not sure it will work longer than 2 or 3 weeks! Ive been bathing in the kitchen because thats where the stove is! Thats the only way I have of having hot water, is on the stove! Thanks for listening!

Initially felt the burners and oven took a LONG time to heat up, but just accepted it. After a year and a half, the motherboard died. The part alone was almost $400 and labor $100. The self clean does not work very well. Glass top is very hard to clean. It has a large oven space and looks nice, but would avoid Whirlpool at all costs following this experience.

My family has been without hot water for two weeks. We have the same water heater, we have been to Lowes where we were told the recalled parts were no longer available, unless we wanted to drive 3 1/2 hours to Arkansas to get it. Whirlpool wants to give me a free part for $36.00 worth of shipping and handling! All the local suppliers say I have to go through Lowes, or the manufacturer. I dont want to give whirlpool another dime. This has been a fiasco. How much more can a company disrespect their customer, than to make us pay for a faulty product replacement? It is unacceptable. This is ridiculous. It is December, and I have a family of 7, including a child in a wheelchair.

This washing machine was already in the house when we purchased the house two years ago. In those two years, it has performed well for the most part. It has many different cleaning options, the clothes come out clean, it saves on the amount of water it uses, it’s quiet and I like the fact that it is a front loading washer.

Compared to others it gets the dishes clean and is easy enough to operate. Like everything else it has more bells and whistles than I want or use. Fill it up, put soap in and punch the desired settings and it does what it is programmed to do. Overall size seems to be like all the other models Ive used. Stainless with buttons on top of door. The top basket/drawer has latches that get tripped allowing the basket to drop down and confusing my wife. Not the best arrangement IMHO. Seems like the spacing of the supports in the bottom basket are off, but that may be due to our plates and bowls shapes.

I purchased a new Cabrio Washing Machine and Dryer in March 2015. I have had 3 new washing machines thanks to the Customer Service provided by Lowes in Lindale Texas. The third washing machine has again lost its brain and the sensor to operate the machine. I have been waiting for the parts since December 2. Called it is still on back order. Unacceptable! It cost almost $60 dollars every 2 weeks for our washing at the Laundromat. Again unacceptable. All Whirlpool can say is We are sorry. When the machine works my clothes are beautifully cleaned using the new HE soap. Takes large loads and I love that part.I am sorry I bought a Whirlpool. Whirlpool would not work with me except to apologize and say the parts are on back order and I will get a call in 5 days for an update. These machines cost $900 each plus tax. They should work more than 3 months at a time. The first repairman could not explain anything. Said they were too new and he could not figure out what to do. The second repairman was more knowledgeable and explained what was wrong. Does not help that Whirlpool does not have an inventory of parts to take care of their customers.

We have the same complaints about the washer as other reviewers -- have to use deep water wash to get enough water in the tub to clean and rinse soap from clothes and we have to keep the loads small. Dryer thermostat had to be replaced right off the bat. Now on medium heat it just burned patterns into two light-weight polyester fleece items -- the clothes came out with the heat input screen pattern burned into them. Now I wonder if they stuck to the heating screen for any length of time, was it a fire hazard? The burned parts of the items are now stuck to the drum so that needs cleaning. So well be using low heat on most everything and drying them twice, since low heat leaves them pretty wet after 35 minutes. So much for buying energy saving appliances which, by the way, we were proud to buy! But, prior to buying these appliances, we had washer and dryers that last 20 years. Built in obsolescence with these new things? I have no faith in the consumer complaint process anymore. The retailer may care as they are a bit closer to the problem, but the manufacturer? Forget it. Vote with your wallet and dont buy these products.

That was 6 weeks ago. He cant get the parts despite us calling about every week to see if the parts came in. So for the last month weve been taking our clothes to a laundromat. I submitted a complaint several days ago about my 3-year old Whirlpool Duet washer not working and costing $550 to fix. I decided to just replace it so my husband unhooked it this morning. We were going to to try to sell it on Craigslist as is. I pulled out the laundry detergent compartment to clean it because I had filled it with detergent and fabric softener the other day. The smell that came from inside the washer where the detergent is dispensed was awful. I looked inside and it was completely filled with mold. I had periodically run the clean cycle with bleach but apparently this did nothing. I am writing this second review to warn people about this. I am going to just trash the washer now and I hope this has not affected our health in any way. For those of you who are thinking about purchasing this washer or one similar, I strongly urge you to stick with the plain old top loader. That is what I am going back to.

Whirlpool gold series gas oven with Aqua Lift. Very unhappy with this oven. Cons: Aqua Lift technology doesnt work AT ALL (manual cleaning required); stove top hard to clean; 2 front gas burners are super burners which is fine for boiling water, but too hot for regular cooking. Would be better to have one super burner in the middle or back but two up front is way too hot for regular cooking, even on lowest setting; oven cuts out while cooking -- unexplainable how this happens but you really have to watch the oven while cooking to make sure its still on. Pros: large oven so you can cook ginormous turkeys or prime ribs.

It heated my kitchen up at least 3 degrees. I live in the South so evidently its not meant for southern summers. It does look nice but if Id known the fan blows such hot air out of the bottom, I wouldnt have chosen this one. Afraid if I use the self cleaning cycle, it will burn my hard wood floor. Probably why there are many complaints about uneven cooking and long to preheat since all the heat is blowing out of the bottom. I received an email saying it didnt meet their website guidelines and they wouldnt post it. Interesting?!

What idiot designs a fridge that leaves water stains like this? And, the water falls onto the floor when refilling a water bottle plus there is no catch for the water. Argh! I have owned a Whirlpool Cabrio HE WTW6400SW3 for two years and have had nothing but issues from the start. Control panel was replaced twice under warranty. Also the clothes (socks underwear) were under the tub blocking the drain. This is not covered under the warranty. I was told by the repairman that this is the usual issue. He told me they took the front loader design and just stood it up with no protection from garments and coins getting under the tub, through the under tub filter often and into the drain pump. You are kidding me? Almost $1000 for this washer and its so ill designed. I have read forums that this has been an ongoing issue for several years yet Whirlpool continues to build these. I dont vent to forums often but just now I finished removing the tub to remove 2 socks and 7 cents. Also, I had to remove the drain pump and found another 16 cents inside it. So far the pump has not been ruined but this time water is coming out from the machine so will probably be ordering another pump for it as well. The wife wants it out of the house tomorrow and not another cent spent on it. But it is only two years old. What do you do? If you are reading this because you are searching for a new washer do not purchase a Whirlpool! I have gotten nothing but grief and was put off by their customer service dept as well. I guess after fielding so many calls about the same thing they have been told to just put all the calls off as no big deal. I am sure Whirlpool is making a killing off the sales on this unit. The claims made during the sale convinced me. What a joke. Look around the internet and you will find hundreds if not thousands of the same issues.

Whirlpool has been an absolute nightmare from day 1. We bought a brand new 50-gallon water heater from Lowes. It did not work. We went back to Lowes and were told to contact whirlpool. We contacted Whirlpool and were told to conduct a number of test and all test passed, so they said we needed a plumber to come look at it. Remind you that this water heater is brand new and has not worked since day 1. They said the plumber would cost $130 and they would pay for parts. Why am I having to pay when my water heater has never worked. Paid the money. Had them come. They replaced a part, did not work, replaced another and it did not work, so the plumber requested a new water heater. Whirlpool refused. What is the point of paying and they are not going to fix it.Whirlpool insisted it was our ventilation even though all test proved that was not the problem. So out of pocket again to fix the ventilation and it did not work. After 2 months of no hot water with a two-year old at home we had someone we know come look at it and fixed the main pipe. Whirlpool took my money and didnt fix my problem. HORRIBLE SERVICE.

We have had a GX5fhdxvy 07 Whirlpool Gold French door fridge with bottom freezer that is approximately 4 years old. Since the first 6 months of use, so 3.5 years now, we have had continual problems with a flat sheet of ice on the bottom of the freezer which then builds up and leaks all over our floor. Twice I have slipped, once banged my big toe to the point of cracking my big toenail and bleeding profusely, and the second time I slipped on my butt and really hurt my back. This is of real concern as one of my children has Cerebral Palsy and autism and could really hurt himself in our kitchen. We originally called while it was still under warranty and the technician said that we will need to learn how to defrost the tube that seems to be getting built up with ice. Thats the only way to fix it. We thought it meant fix it for a long period of time. After several months of this re-occurring problem, we realized that this is something you need to do very frequently, meaning several times a week. We have had no help from Whirlpool, they tell us that essentially it is our problem. They didnt even offer to provide parts. They were not interested in our problems and just asked us if we wanted to pay for a service call, and that was it. Now but what kind of service is this?? Clearly, after researching these products, this is a design flaw and a lot of consumers have complained about the the same issues. You would think that Whirlpool would have the decency and the business smarts to create a recall to solve consumers issues.Unfortunately, I am not able to purchase a new unit. This was an expensive purchase as it was… and we have absolutely no resolution to the problem. I have to say that after our injuries in our household, eventually someone will slip and do some serious permanent damage to their body or even worse, fall and sustain a head injury and perhaps even die. And although this may seem like a far fetched comment, it really isnt out of the realm of possibility at all! How long does it take for a manufacturer to respond to a flaw in their design??

Without a doubt, the worst washing machine Ive ever owned. After 15 years, my trusty old Maytag finally quit, so we searched around and ended up purchasing the Whirlpool Cabrio Platinum 3 years ago. In that time, the hinge on the lid broke, and now it makes a deafening noise when spinning. We called a repairman and he said the bearings were bad and needed to be replaced... Total cost $275 plus $50 for fixing the lid. When we told the repairman that it was only 3 years old he couldnt believe it! We decided against fixing it because from the start it never got the clothes as clean as we were used to, and without the agitator post in the middle, which was a big selling point by the salesperson who sold it to us, the washer continually stops with an Uneven Load message. Large load, small load, it doesnt matter. You cant do a load of any size without the load becoming uneven. We are now searching for a new washer, and although I dont know what well buy, I can guarantee it wont be a Whirlpool.

I just want to say that this washer is indeed a colossal waste of money. I bought an HE machine thinking Id be environmentally responsible, but the amount of times I have to re-rinse clothes negates that. Whats worse is that clothes come out dirtier than when they go in. Thats right--just put a brand new set of sheets in the washer and when they came out, there were dissolved detergent marks and gray, linty patches all over them (this using warm water and a soft gel detergent)--resembling dirt you might get from hanging clothes on a mildew clothes line. I cant tell you how many times I need to re-run the drain and spin cycle. This wastes time, water and quality of life. Id try to re-sell it on Craigslist but wouldnt want to subject anyone else to it--not fair even at $100!Updated on 02/23/2015I wrote a review in September 2014 on the Whirlpool cabrio model WTW5600XWO. To update the community on my recent customer service experience with Whirlpool: I wrote them a letter a few weeks ago stating that I dont expect them to follow up but wanted to let them know I would be buying Bosh products from now on and reiterating my anger at needing to miracle brush any dark piece of clothing after it goes through the cabrio. My letter specifically said I did not expect customer resolution but wanted to express what a rotten product they produced and marketed. They called back leaving a message to the effect: We apologize want to help you but need to speak in person. Please call [toll free number] and have your make and serial numbers available. I called back, and after waiting on hold for 10 mins., the rep took my model and serial numbers, said, Oh I see your letter. Please give me a moment to review it. Then I was told there was nothing she could do. I do apologize for your frustration. I couldnt BELIEVE they would bother contacting me only to make me go through that charade-- They are PATHETIC! I say boycott the company! Well, I certainly will.
