We purchased our Whirlpool range a few months ago. We have the 6.1 cubic oven which is large inside with 5th element on top for keeping things warm which is a nice feature. The oven wipes easily if any spills occur. The only issue I have had is the top scratches easily. I used Creams Brute to clean the top which does well.

I bought this washer (Whirlpool Cabrio) about 4 years ago. A year or so later, it started leaking; based on reading the troubleshooting guide we found that this was because the feet would continually get out of balance. After painstakingly re-leveling the washer every 6 months or so the washer now consistently leaks - even though its balanced/level! $508 to repair a machine I paid $787 for. No thanks. I agree too with the other reports that it doesnt get clothes clean. I just figured this was a feature those of us got for trying to be energy efficient.

Purchased 7/2015. LOVED it @ 1st being the key word. Notice grayish residue on clothing. Mainly on black. Towels discolored and lint on clothing. My kids were blaming dye in the detergent, & using Purex Crystals. I changed detergent to Armen hammer sensitive clear. Stopped using my beloved crystals. Wrong! Cleaned the rim @ the top of the agitator all the dirt & grime get ps trapped in the rims it helped some what. Additional problems occurred. From time to time started noticing unbalancing no matter the load size. Paint bubbling, peeling & rusting. The lid lock broken. Nightmare trying to get an appointment through Whirlpool. Referred to go to a dealer. Called Sears. Gave specific details whats wrong. Appointment 2 wks out. Service arrived, he had no idea why he was there. No info given. Then he said he doesnt have the part. He ordered it and said itll be sent to me approx 5 days. But wont be fix for another 3 wks. Same with 3 people from customer care. Informed this is not acceptable. Another problem now when unplugging it still stays on its hold electrical current. This can not be replaced until its deemed its broken & cant be fixed. They rather your home catch fire. They dont care about the inconvenience for 2 1/2 months.

Purchased our Whirlpool Gold Oven in October of 2013 from Best Buy. The oven works fine, but using the oven to make pizza on March 30th of 2014, a fire started in the drawer under the oven. The oven was set at 400 degrees. Several oven mitts were stacked in the drawer. There was no major damage done to the range, other than a bit of discoloration to the white trim, but we will never put anything in the drawer under the oven and would advise others to do the same.

I bought three top of the line 40-gallon Whirlpool electric water heaters from Lowes three years ago. One of the three heaters has already developed a leak. I contacted Whirlpool only to find out that they wont do anything to diagnose the problem. I have to pay labor for someone to come out, diagnose the problem and then pay for the labor to either correct the problem or replace the water heater. By the time I pay the labor costs, I could almost buy a brand new unit.

Pathetic pathetic service!!! Unsatisfactory service!!! First of all, I would like to tell everyone who ever reads this, that please please please never ever use any Whirlpool products, as their service sucks, their response sucks too, and zero co-operation from their people, which will make you regret to have used their products in future. Please note I registered a complaint on the whirlpool no. **.The complaint was that the washing machine used by us had issues, the power button/ on & off button had come out, and this was clearly stated while registering the complaint. I get a call from Mr. ** (Representative of shree enterprises bibwewadi, pune) and the power button issue was well informed to him as well over the phone by me. He arrived to our place without any new material, he sees the machine and interchanges the buttons, i.e. the broken power button is replaced by other button from my machine which was less used compared to the power button. I had to pay a sum of rs. 400/- for the pathetic service I received from your end.I expect a response from your side within next 4 hours, or I might have to escalate this issue!!! (Please note Whirlpool team that I had submitted the same on your website yesterday, yet I have not received any response from your side). (Whirlpool rating- 0 out of 100). Thanks. (And whoever reads this, please tell me where else can I post this review of mine so that I shall alert everyone that how bad whirlpool service is)...

I bought a 50-gal. Whirlpool electric hot water heater about 6 years ago from Lowes. About every two years, something goes bad. So far, I had to replace electronic control board that sits on top of heater twice. Then the heating element went bad. Well, this time, the electronic control board started to smoke and melt. I was home so I smelled something melting and found it. What would have happened if I was not at home? I have dogs that are like my kids; they could have been killed. Whirlpool wants to send the replacement parts knowing this part is no good. Do not buy a Whirlpool electric water heater! Now, Im scared the next time I wont be at home to find the thing smoking. I dont have money to buy a new one. How many other people have the same problem?

Ive had the WDF510PAY dishwasher for 3 years and the circulation pump broke. To be more specific the impeller inside the circulation pump warped and then basically got lodged because it became oblong and then it wouldnt pump water to the spray arms etc. I bought a new pump because the warranty only last a year. The pump cost around 90 bucks. After not even 1 full year this factory replacement pump failed again. I reviewed other Whirlpool dishwashers more expensive and I found they all have this same junky circulation pump. Im not sure of a better dishwasher but I would never recommend a Whirlpool dishwasher again. They also use the same circulation pump in Maytag and many other brands. Whirlpool or whoever designed and sold this pump to Whirlpool should be tracked down and beaten. Simple products like dishwashers should last more than 3 years. The technology is nothing new. A product should last 10 years at least.

I purchased a 12 year warranty, high end Whirlpool WATER HEATER (OR SO I THOUGHT AT THE TIME) through Lowes in 2014. Model ND50T122-403. Six years and multiple service calls later it is broken again, this time for the final time. I am ripping this garbage out. So livid with this company that could give a rip about their customers. Three years in to my 12 year warranty it started giving me problems. Horrible HORRIBLE customer service. They will insult your intelligence. Whirlpool will not honor the warranty or stand behind their product. They just take your money and basically give a shrug of the shoulders or worse blame you for THEIR TERRIBLE product failing. It may be unscrupulous and unethical but I guess saves them a pile of money which is what they seem to only be out.The Service Tech that came for the 4th time to repair it says they see this all the time in Whirlpool water heaters. Its a Design Flaw they say. I dont know about all that. I just know when I have been swindled. The electronics are garbage. The pilot light when it goes out is not easily reset as others have mentioned on this site. Will stay lit for while and then shuts down. Whirlpool says, despite reams of evidence to the contrary it must be a safety issue in the install, which they have absolutely zero evidence of therefore, they are not honoring the warranty. They are Blaming the installers, according to our service techs who tried to order the part thats supposed to be under warranty. The original installers, by the way were from Lowes, the outfit that sold me this hot mess. Another Class action lawsuit seems ripe. Or perhaps the consumer protection division from each states Attorneys General would be interested in protecting their citizens from practices like this. Lowes is complicit in allowing it, failing to protect their customers and not calling Whirlpool out for it. I cant think of a more deserving target of consumer protection than Whirlpool. A truly horrible, expensive experience. See the Whirlpool logo and RUN - - DO NOT WALK -- THE OTHER WAY!

We bought our dishwasher April 2018. This morning I noticed the paint had bubbled above the heat vent (area 3x 1/2). Upon closer inspection, the the paint was also peeling. We called the company to see if they would replace the skin but the agent said the only thing they could do was send us touch-up paint. The door is considered cosmetic & only covered for 30 days. If we wanted to replace the door panel, we were welcome to buy one from them. However as this seems to be a manufacturing defect, we would be replacing the door every 16 months. When we realized whirlpool wouldnt back their product, my husband looked a little closer to see what needed to be done & found that it had rusted under the paint & painting on top of rust will adhere properly.

We bought this Whirlpool he washer two months ago, and it is the most aggravatingly frustrating washer weve ever had the displeasure to use. There are times when it washes just fine, but I always have to put the mode on deep water wash because the normal mode uses very little water (like its supposed to) but it doesnt clean the clothes. However, most of the time it doesnt wash at all. All the lights will turn off and youll hear this sound and itll drain the water without having been in the wash cycle. Worthless piece of equipment! I prefer the old washer where I have more control. Whirlpool used to be such a good brand, What Is Happening? The new design for their washing machine nowadays generates a lot of complaints, and with good reason (because they suck).

I installed my new water heater in 2012. Within 3 months, it was not producing hot water. When I called, a helpful person at the Whirlpool warranty line told me it was because there was too much cold water being mixed into the hot water coming from the tank. I hung up... Called again and was told that they would be able to get someone in 2 weeks out to my house to check it. I told them that was not acceptable. I hung up... I called Lowes, where I bought it. The person on the other line finally, after more than 1 hour, was able to get a repair person out there within 2 days. I had to pay the fee to have the guy come look at my hot water tank, and tell me that he hated Whirlpools. He called Whirlpool, 3 times; he was hung up on 2 times. He explained what had happened was I had a hot water leak, that it probably it was overloaded, the thermostat control everything else was fine. However, that I had installed the heater myself not a professional. Therefore it was not up to NATIONAL code; therefore, Whirlpool refused to honor the warranty. So, short version, in order to get the tank repaired, I was supposed to spend an additional $300-$400 to bring the heater up to code for them to honor the warranty. What you ask made my heater out of code? It is outside in my utility room, and the flue was cut to fit and the OUTSIDE vent pipe was not above the roofline. It didnt matter that it is not in an enclosed space, that this was nothing to do with the reasoning the thermocouple went out.I simply turned up the heat, so far so good. Will I ever buy another Whirlpool? No. I have a Whirlpool fridge bought before the hot water tank situation. The ice maker went out within 6 months of purchase. When I called to have it repaired, the service guy stated he hates Whirlpool. The piece he had to replace was plastic that was replaced with a metal piece that should have been metal to begin with.

I have the Cabrio model WTW6400SW2. I have had it for 5 1/2 years and have been happy with it up until several months ago. The F1 would come up when the machine would lock and just start to fill. I could pause it and start it again, and it might do this 1 to 3 times. It would also do it on the rinse cycle. I have been using it because I did not want a repair bill right now. The machine was also starting to make noise when it was spinning. Well, I just happened to break my dryer yesterday so I thought I would get the washer fixed also. Well, the repairman said that the controller would cost $200 for the part, and then he said the pump roller and bearings were going. By the time you add on labor, he said, “You might want to buy a new one.” He told me that Whirlpool has completely changed the washer now because of all the problems with them. He told me to look it up on the computer, and maybe there would be a class action suit. After reading some of the reviews, I will not buy another Whirlpool again.

In a recent decision regarding the highly expensive, supposed elite performing Whirlpool Gold refrigerators, a group of unsatisfied Whirlpool owners who are tired of cleaning water puddles from in front of their new refrigerators have hired all automobile corporations to manufacture cars only available to the CEO, Executive Board as well as the entire engineering staff at Whirlpool. These cars will be guaranteed to run ok. However, once the car is heated up under normal working conditions, the cars will be guaranteed to leak oil all over whatever surface they are parked upon. We hope that this will not be an inconvenience to the CEO of Whirlpool; however, perhaps once you have destroyed your new garage floor, you will understand the nature of our complaint with your poorly designed and engineered Whirlpool product. While this letter will have no effect on my current defective product provided to me by Whirlpool, it makes me feel better and I have not had the attention span to listen to my wife complain while she is cleaning up yet another (whirl) pool underneath our fridge.

Before I could go for legal proceedings, I would like to make you aware of the conditions prevailing in Kerala in sales and services. The young trainees who dont know to repair have broken down the entire system and it is fully collapsed. The franchise office washed their hands. We purchased 4.0 cu. ft. Cabrio Top Load Washer with 6th Sense Technology MODEL WTW7340XW2 on 11/20/2011. We are a small family of 3 so use of the machine is light. We noticed a strange sound and some leaks a week ago and called in a technician recommended on the Whirlpool website. To our horror he informed us that we need to replace the tub bearing assembly, rotor and stator - to a cost of $1095! This machine is not even 3 years old. Did we buy a lemon? I called Whirlpool. They were simply not interested. The online chat person sent me to the Whirlpool Customer Experience Team where I was told that I should buy an insurance plan to cover the costs of repairs. They then sent me on to the insurance department who want me to pay $338 to buy a repair plan to have the machine fixed. And then referred me to the Manufacturing division when I wanted to know how to escalate the problem - and if you call that number - there is no option to deal with problems - seriously?!? Is this what I should expect when buying the Whirlpool brand?

The overall performance is poor and not as advertised. It does not use enough water and does not wash clothes well enough. At times, you can see that the water never reached parts of the garments. This is a replacement of a similar model, that lasted 23 years. This modest, white, 2 door, side by side refrigerator, was purchased without the optional ice maker. It was bought specifically for the dimensions, of our custom cabinets. There are obvious differences, from the previous incarnation. The textured doors were replaced with a smooth glossy finish and their height extends higher than the refrigerator cabinet. The adjustable shelves were replaced with less adjustable pre fixed shelf supports. The LED interior lighting is much brighter that the incandescent bulbs they replaced. Overall, so far a very capable refrigerator, for a moderately sized kitchen and if the life, lasts as long as the one it replaced, this was a very good purchase.

Energy schmefficient. and I havent even TRIED to use the low heat delicate cycle. 2 - The cute modern buttons are hard to push in. 3 - The top of the machine doesnt have a level lid... Its curved. Cabrio washing machine - I have had the exact same problems as all of the above... lid locks occasionally ... after many frustrating tries. I am ready to pick up this stupid washing machine and pitch it in the junk pile! Soap on clothes so I have to redo ... except many times it takes forever to get the stupid machine to restart... Most times I end up rinsing things by hand in the sink. We are constantly itchy from soap residue. My clothes do not come out clean. Especially the towels. Clothes are not spun out as much as they should be... Have been doing it over again by hand many times... which is not good because They still have way too much water in them and it takes 2 -3 Times longer to dry them! I am so disappointed in this set. I always thought Whirlpool was a great brand but, sadly, I was terribly mistaken. Never again. Finally got someone to say they have to replace all the controls. They say they will send parts but I have to pay someone to change it out... sounds like they admit there is a problem but will not accept full responsibility for it. I did not make the item so why do I have to pay to have it fixed? I believe they should issue a recall and make all of us believers in them again. I guess its my fault for buying their product? So... doesnt clean, spin, rinse, lock and has a bad odor... not a great product, is it?

I live in Florida and in December 2012, purchased a Whirlpool upright freez
I live in Florida and in December 2012, purchased a Whirlpool upright freezer from my local Badcocks. About two months after the purchase it started making this weird loud sound. I contacted Whirlpool and they sent a local appliance company technician out to check it. The technician ripped my brand new Linoleum floor when pulling out the freezer. The result was, in his opinion, nothing was wrong with it, that the loud sound was normal. As it continued, another tech came out and his opinion was it needed a new compressor. So, it was replaced and lasted about a month. I was getting something out for dinner and noticed everything in my freezer was unthawed... all that money wasted a freezer full of food gone. So, Whirlpool once again sent the same appliance company out but a different technician. This one said it that he needed to order parts which he did, a different tech came out to install the parts and told us he didnt know what they were for and our freezer didnt need the parts the previous tech ordered. So this tech put dye in the lines and left. The dye leaked out from under my freezer all over the floor which is now stained because of the dye that leaked. This is the brand new floor they had already ripped during the first service call. So, now not only is my floor ripped but stained as well.Once again, about a month later, I find my freezer full of meat unthawed a third time. Once again I called and find out they have dropped the contract with the company that came out the first two times. So they refer me to another local appliance repair, and this new tech says that it needs a new compressor. This will be the second new one in less than 6 months. They order that part and repair the freezer; this fix lasted for about three months this time. On my fourth call to Whirlpool, I expressed my frustration with losing my food and the hassle of an inferior product purchased brand new under warranty. I definitely was not satisfied with the service and the customer service representative could not find my warranty record. He was also very rude and when he finally found my record, he told me I was no longer under Whirlpool warranty. This was wrong as I have my paperwork showing date of purchase AND the four-year extended warranty we purchased as well. I asked him what they would do for me since their inferior appliance and incompetent repair technicians cost me hundreds of dollars of ruined meat and other frozen food. He said they would do nothing except have another repair tech come out. Until the freezer is determined to be unrepairable that is all they can do.So I scheduled the tech to come out the fourth time and he found that some untrained tech had put oil in the line and the lines and compressor has to be replaced and flushed. I have already not had a freezer for a week waiting for tech to come out and now the parts are put on back order for another three weeks. The fourth repair tech called Whirlpool from my home, while I was standing there, and told them that it basically is beyond repair because of the price of parts and labor. He told Whirlpool it would be cheaper to replace the freezer but Whirlpool told the tech to replace the lines and compressor and flush everything out. So three weeks later, he comes back out on 10/13/2013 to make the repairs. I bought this freezer in December 2012 for $1200 and have been dealing with issues on and off since Feb. 2013 and now its 11/29/13 and once again my freezer has stopped working. I have lost all my food because Whirlpool sold me a defective appliance and would not make it right. I have asked them to replace it and they wouldnt. My husband and I have just purchased our second house and we were very excited about the remodel coming up in the kitchen. We were going to purchase stainless steel Whirlpool appliances, but after this company has treated me so badly, I will not buy anything with the Whirlpool name for our stove, dishwasher, microwave and refrigerator. We probably would have spent about $3500 on appliances, but we will purchase a different brand and give our $3500 to a company that will treat me better as a customer .I used to have trust in this company because it is well known for quality products, but I dont trust them anymore. I will advise any of my loved ones and friends not to purchase any Whirlpool appliance because of the inferior quality and lack of interest in making this situation right. I tried for almost a year and gave them 5 opportunities to do the right thing and now Im done. They dont care about the customer and that is a shame because they have lost a valued customer. As of now I have another tech coming Tuesday b/c my freezer is sitting not running again. Model #EV201NZTQ02.

I would not recommend this product at all, nor would I recommend the Whirlpool Company. This washer was over $1200.00. Within two weeks of purchase, I had to call a service repair company as I was immediately having issues with the washer not draining. Being a front loader, this machine required using the appropriate HE detergent. I followed the instructions, used the appropriate products and had nothing but continuous problems. It is a (lemon), and very frustrating, as it does not seem repairable. No serviceman could give an appropriate reason as to why the washer would not drain, nor could they figure out why. It didnt matter the size of the laundry load or the type of items...towels, jeans, or silky delicates...the washer failed at turning from the wash cycle to the drain cycle. It also leaked because of the lack of draining, and began building up a mold film and odor even though I consistently wiped it dry and left the door opened when not in use. I received no assistance from Whirlpool and was given the runaround and told I must be doing something incorrectly.

Cabrio top load HE washer - Ive only had the washer a couple of years. My husband bought it for me thinking it would make washing more time efficient and energy saving. Lesson learned! After struggling with this washer for the past year, I was told today that to repair it, it would cost around $800 or I would need to buy another washer. The washers bearings and tub need to be replaced and it will not spin properly or at all. Previously, I have owned washers for over 10 years each. This was definitely not a good purchase. After reading all of the other complaints on this site, I understand that I am not alone. It was also mentioned on one complaint of the possibility of a fire hazard with this washer. I purchased an OTH microwave model #WMH1163XVQ-1 around 12/2011 from Lowe’s. Within a year, the paint started peeling inside of the microwave on the bottom. A few weeks ago, I noticed flames in the microwave and realized it wasnt my food but the microwave itself was on fire. Im glad I was close by to immediately turn it off. I hate to think what would have happened otherwise. Does anyone have any idea of what I can do about this? Would this still be under warranty? This is the first and last Whirlpool product Ill be purchasing.

Disappointed with Whirlpool Gold bottom freezer GX2SHBXVY05. We purchase this refrigerator in December 2010 thinking we were buying a good quality french door fridge. It didnt take long before problems started with the freezer over freezing and the fridge not cooling. We also had a problem with water pooling on the bottom of the freezer then freezing into a solid piece of ice. Water eventually started pooling on the kitchen floor and living room carpet. We did not purchase the extended warranty believing we shouldnt have had to as we were believing a good name brand. After having a repair person in twice we were told we needed a new computer board and switch. Total cost for repair $350.00 plus previous charges, so far adding up to over $450.00. We called Whirlpool customer service, was a waste of time as they simply told me they could send out their own repair person to obtain the same diagnosis I already had. They told me I should have purchased the warranty. I told them I shouldnt have needed to. Whirlpool customer service refused to do anything for me as it was too long past the 1 year limited warranty. Doing my own research I found this to be a problem with a great many Whirlpool fridge owners and I mentioned this to their customer service and mentioned there should be a recall. I will no longer purchased another Whirlpool product as the company does not stand behind their product.

Its an IKEA double wall oven. Top oven is convection, bottom oven is regular. The cost was half of what a single wall oven was at other stores. It is very simple without a lot of fancy timers and extras. Its great for cooking a very large meal when you need two ovens or have recipes that need different temperatures. I was able to shop entirely online to the store in another city and have the wall oven delivered for minimal charge. I dont mind paying more for better quality, but it seems increasingly hard to find. I purchased my no-name double wall oven from IKEA in 2010 for around $1000. That was almost half the price of a name brand single wall oven. Apparently the oven is made by Whirlpool. Self clean option works well. You cant beat it for putting on a great big meal where items require cooking at different temperatures. Both ovens are full size so you could cook a giant turkey and a ham at same time. Never had a problem with it either.

We built a new home at the beach to enjoy our retirement and the builder installed new Whirlpool appliances. As far as we are concerned this was the BIGGEST WASTE OF MONEY WE HAD. Our appliances were under warranty for 1 year as usual and after 14 months things began to break. The latest is the ice maker in the French door fridge. After finding the diagnostics test online I ran the test and determined that the whole ice maker needs replaced. This ridiculous since the fridge is only a little over a year old. We even upgraded the fridge to avoid any problems. After talking to the people in our neighborhood we have come to find out that most people here have had trouble with whirlpool appliances.. I am ready to send these to the junkyard and replace them with a reputable brand (LG) that we owned before and were very happy with.. I dont understand if there is all these problems with Whirlpool products why the technical team doesnt fix the problem... Get parts from the USA NOT CHINA!!! My neighbor just told me he had the repairman at his house 7 times to fix his fridge and finally got a new one. Just got tired of the hassle and expense....

After 25 years my Maytag died. It was a Sunday so we just decided to go to Lowes & purchase a new one. They could not find my 1st choice so I bought the Cabrio. It is the worst washer I could have purchased. It determines the amount of water you need. Our clothes never seem to be clean & its very noisy. It has no agitator & is supposed to save water. Even putting it on the longest cycle our clothes do not appear to be clean.

I purchased a Whirlpool gas stove model #WFG540H0AH from Sears in March 2103. Since that time, the oven has repeatedly broken. After two major repairs, the repair company said the fas venue (?) suspect board was defective and needed to be replaced by the manufacturer. After 3 weeks of back and forth calls with Whirlpool customer service, the only solution they provided was for me to purchase a new stove at a discount with no compensation for installation, the gas connection kit, or haul-away of the old appliance. The original stove cost me $1100 including the installation, haul-away and taxes. The replacement option would have cost me $800 and still did not included haul-away, the gas installation kit, or taxes. Hardly an affordable solution. Whirlpool at no time addressed that a part on the stove was deemed defective.

I bought a pair of Whirlpool front loading washing machine and dryer on May
I bought a pair of Whirlpool front loading washing machine and dryer on May 23, 2011. The Duet Steam washer model is WFW9640XW, dryer is WED9470WW. Their high retail price was $1125 each. I did not pay this for them. I thought I got a great buy at Lowes for the price I paid, plus their 4-year extended warranty. Whirlpool used to be a very high-end appliance manufacturing company. Now, all they put out the back door is junk. I would advise not to buy Whirlpool front end anything. My washing machine started making noise about 2 weeks before I reported it to both Lowes and Whirlpool. The noise sounded like bearing not being lubricated, which that is what it ended up being. The noise got so loud that even with all my very expensive electronics (my home entertainment ctr equipment) I could not hear the TV which goes through an expensive Yamaha AV Receiver and those expensive Infinity speakers 7 channel system. The main bearing for the wash drum assembly was bad. After two emails and several phone calls to both Lowes and Whirlpool, Whirlpool was going to send the so-called re-engineered drum assembly. The style I have is 3 parts; the new one according to Whirlpool is one part, but if they put the same bearing in, youre going to end up with the same problem in another year. I live in a condo of just over 920 sq. ft. so really there is no room to repair them in my home, but that is what they are going to do. I will be getting the new drum assembly delivered to my condo and have the repair company doing this dirty job in the middle of my living room.Living in a condo, I have a small utility closet next to the kitchen where the furnace, hot water tank, and washer and dryer are. The closet needs to have some areas cut out with and installed two small hinged doors on each side, so if anything ever needs to be repaired or replaced, there would be a little bit more room to move items in or out. The problem getting the washer out is getting the dryer moved so you can disconnect the electrical plug, cold water hose for the steam, plus the vent hose. First, you have to get to the water valves which are very hard to reach. Because of the way cluster housing is made, they squeeze things into very small holes like the faucets and drain hose are located. I was asked by the repair person if I could help him lift these items out of the closet. I have had 7 fusion back operations and #7 left me in constant pain that I take a narcotic drug for pain daily. So, I called Whirlpool back and said the repair people were only going to send a tech. I was told that it is a two-man job: one tech and one helper. So Lowes needs to authorize two people since Whirlpool is sending the new drum assembly for free. I wish I could have gotten a new washing machine with the so-called re-engineered drum assembly. I am still probably going to have to squeeze between the bulkhead (wall) and the washer and dryer to disconnect everything since I am a small person. If I wasnt retired, I would have bought a different brand front loading washer and dryer, probably Bosch and took the loss on these piles of Junk. I love my country and do my very best even as hard as it is in this day and age to buy US. I served my country in the US Navy during the Vietnam War, just to see the civilians willfully buy Asian everything. So now, we have 4 Asian nations that own this country. I dont know why Whirlpool changed from a company that you could trust their products to a company that doesnt give a damn what they put out the back door. These companies still havent gotten the clue why folks buy goods from other countries. I think they need to open their eyes, but I guess with Whirlpool still being a company that is selling a very large number of appliances and making money off of us, suckers, they dont need to change. The only way they are going to change is if folks stop buying their junk.

I purchased the Amana washer # NTW4560YQO 10 months ago - when I put on the warn setting I would get an alternate cold warm but a warm wash. At the beginning of July suddenly all I got was cold water. The machine is still under warranty so I called and I got an authorized repair person who came out and replaced the mixing valve.. then I went to wash clothes and yes all I got was cold water. The authorized repair person came out and could not figure why. He called Whirlpool tech dept and they told him it was working the way it was supposed to. Now it does not give any warm water so I do not know how the tech person can make that statement. They then sent yet another authorized repair person from a different repair company and yet again the tech person said it is working the way it is supposed to. IT IS NOT WORKING THE WAY IT WORKED WHEN I PURCHASED IT AND THE WAY IT WORKED FOR 9 MONTHS. When I called customer disservice they kept repeating, our tech people say it is working the way it is supposed to. Then they tried to tell me it was the ground water. I want to know how many others out here have had the same problem. I really feel this is a defective machine and I want my money back or I want compensation and an acknowledgement that there is a problem with their crappy machine.

Its supposed to be energy efficient yet it takes AT LEAST two times as long to get one load done, regardless of size or cycle preference! Now laundry takes all day! Literally! And why is there a lid lockout? Did someone accidentally fall in? If I drop something after Ive pushed start, I have to wait until the machine unlocks the lid. Why? This seems counterproductive. Are there negative numbers for ratings? Horrible, to say the least. Whirlpool is the parent name for KitchenAid ovens. I have an electric oven and the glass on the front door exploded! Whats worse is that I have been given the complete run-around! I have called, wrote, waited, and tried ordering through other companies--still no luck! How does Whirlpool get away with this? It seems that Whirlpool no longer makes the part!! Do they really expect consumers just to replace an oven every few years? Poorest customer satisfaction I have ever experienced! This should be a consumer fraud grand suit, as there are numerous complaints about the same issue with Whirlpool appliances! Stay away from this company by all means!

We purchased a Duet washer in Feb 2011. On Nov 2011, it started making a very loud noise when it would spin. We contacted the warranty company, not realizing it was still under the manufacturers warranty. The warranty company came out and took a look and claimed it would be about $1500.00 in parts to repair. We contacted whirlpool and they also sent a service person that claimed the same thing. Both service people claimed that the other did something to the machine and it was the others responsibility to fix it. We have contacted whirlpool and the parts have been ordered. We were informed today that they are on backorder and will not be available until some time the middle to the end of January. When asked why they just dont replace the washer, the answer we received was that was not the policy.

To be fair to Whirlpool, I have contacted them but have not given them time to respond. I feel so strongly about this issue that I want to get the message about this company product out. About 2 years ago, we purchased a Whirlpool fridge, stove, and dishwasher. I have had so many problems with the stove (WFG540H0AS0) that it has pissed me off, actually. First, the knobs that control the stove top melted. MELTED! We had to replace them to the tune of $30.00 each and there are 5. Why would anyone use knobs that cannot withstand heat on a stove?! News flash, I cook on my stove. Therefore, there will be heat used. Second, the oven keeps shutting off in the middle of cooking my holiday meal. Of course, this made my turkey take much longer than usual. Today, it shut off in the middle of cupcakes. Third, the oven does ignite without turning it on and off multiple times. So we called the repair person who told us to replace the ignition switch for it. This helped for about one month. Then the problem started again. I just emailed Whirlpool and I will call them next business day. I am so disappointed with Whirlpool. I thought they had a good reputation for quality products.

Prior to that sometimes it worked, sometimes it didnt. I started to think that it had burned, changed the light bulb. It didnt worked. After 2 months, all of a sudden the light worked, but the ice maker stopped working. What would be the suggestion to fix it, may I asked. This is very disappointing. We bought all Whirlpool Gold Appliances when we re-did our kitchen 5 years
We bought all Whirlpool Gold Appliances when we re-did our kitchen 5 years ago -- fridge, d. washer, oven, glass top stove, and microwave. Recently I noticed a pool of water in front of the fridge. Turns out there is a sticky grommet problem that prevents moisture from draining into a pan on the inside back bottom of the fridge. Whirlpool will send you a replacement part that is totally different than the original poor design (a long hose affair) BUT wont pay for the labor to put it in unless the unit is less than 2 years old.I watched a video showing how to do it, but it looks pretty tricky and involved plus risky because you can break the drain pan in the process. Spoke with a Whirlpool rep and a supervisor -- both admitted to a quality problem but got nowhere on the labor. Theyre sending the part, and the supervisors supervisor is supposed to give me a call, so well see if they eventually do the right thing and cover the labor. I mean cmon... the parts obvious a bad design, or they wouldnt be sending a totally redesigned part! Covering the labor only if its two years old or less? Even the Whirlpool techs online are saying the problem happens after about 4 years! The grommet gets sticky and wont drain due to heat from the compressor, and that takes time to happen. Ill update this when I hear back from Whirlpool.

Similar to what I am reading below and on other sites, my hot water heater stopped working. I spent about an hour trying to relight the pilot light, which apparently you cant do with this model because it breaks. My first thought and action was to call a plumber to come fix it. When he arrived he said it was reverse thread and that I would have to call Lowes to get a replacement part. When I called Lowes they said they would call Whirlpool and then give me a call back. Two days later I still havent heard back or taken a shower; I am going to the gym tonight. Finally, I got online and called the 800-number and am being sent a part to arrive tomorrow. I asked to be reimbursed for the cost of the plumber since they obviously knew they had a problem (they assumed why I was calling the warranty line) and redesigned the issue with a voluntary recall. Whirlpool, please make this right. I know you license your name to American but it is still your name and brand reputation.

This is the second time since I have bought my Whirlpool top loading washing machine, which was January 1, 2011. During a power outage, I was washing clothes and my machine lid would not unlock after our power came back on. I called the warranty service and they made arrangement for a repair man to come out to repair it, but the appointment was in two days. Meanwhile, I had clothes in the machine I needed and was afraid they would become molded and no good. So my husband opened the lid and I removed the clothes. When the repair man came, he was not going to repair the machine because we opened the lid. He was very rude, but after doing some talking he repaired the lid. Now, once again we had a power outage while I was washing clothes and the lid is locked on the washing machine and will not open. This happened Friday, March 16, 2012; my appointment for the repairman to come is Tuesday, March 20, 2012. Meanwhile, my clothes are sitting in the machine wet because we were told not to try to open the lid and wait for the repair service to come. I am very concerned my clothes will be molded and I will be unable to use them. I would never buy another washing machine like this one. Model number is WTW4800X, Standard/Ordinaire VOXr8ENA(3B). Date of purchase: January1, 2011.

The local Lowes told me that they are out of the burner assembly for this water heater. I called them this evening and was told that they didnt know when they would have the part, but to call back about every other day to see if they had received the burner assembly for this water heater. After doing much research on refrigerators, I chose the Whirlpool with the French doors and bottom freezer. Within a month, I had to call the repair service. The freezer made a thick layer of ice on the bottom, wouldnt shut properly (I had to keep a heavy box in front of it to keep it closed) and frosted over all the food in it. On his second visit, the repair man told me that the company knows about the problem, that there was a problem in the design of the appliance, and created a piece to be installed in the machine to alleviate the problem. The problem has not been fixed with that added piece, and the repairman has been here a few more times. Now the freezer just randomly stops making ice on top of all the other problems it has. In 2010 we had to purchase a new hot water heater. Went to our local Lowes store to see what they offered. We decided to buy a Whirlpool energy smart electric water heater. It was large, 50 gallon. We have a large family and didnt like running out of hot water so we thought this would be great. Worked fine until yesterday when I kept smelling an odor like something melting. Could not figure out where the smell was coming from until this morning I got in the shower and had very little hot water. Went downstairs and seen the water heater was not working. Got the user guide out to see if we could pinpoint what was wrong. It said no power to control board. I checked the breaker box and found no problems. I got a flashlight to look at the control board and discovered it had overheated and melt the top of it. Have been on phone with Whirlpool nonstop with just a recording. The heater has a lifetime warranty so Im trying to get the replacement part for it that will cost me $115 plus shipping. I am really concerned that with this overheating it did not trip the breaker. Grateful it did not start a fire and worried if we repair it will this happen again and possibly not be as fortunate. I have seen on this site of another complaint with the same problem. Shocked there hasnt been a recall issued. Be careful!

I completely forgot that I wrote a review on our Whirlpool hot water heater
I completely forgot that I wrote a review on our Whirlpool hot water heater model FG1H5040T3 Nov in 2010 until I received an email telling me how many people read my post. Surprise, Surprise guess what we are having problems with again. You know how nice it is to have hot water anytime you need or want it. Well, not at my house. The hot water heater worked for about a year (Im probably being nice with the time here). Heres our problem now, once the water heats up the pilot goes out. It will not stay on. Ive noticed that if its full the pilot light will not come on, so we have to run some water to be able to light it. Well I called customer service, a waste of time. The guy told me that my heaters warranty expired last year and his suggestion is to go buy another heater. REALLY! All I wanted to do was order a part for it. He did send me an article with suggestion of things to check. Sorry, we already did everything in the article, another waste of time. It seems we are not the only ones (model #) with problems with Whirlpool. Whirlpool used to make good products but its not anymore. I will NEVER buy another Whirlpool product again.

The oven has not worked correctly from day one. I have to use a thermometer plus after the correct temp is indicated I still have to wait another 15 minutes for the oven to reach the desired temp. Also have to set the temp for 25 degrees higher than the one I want. The burner that supposedly has two sizes in one is basically useless. Temps are not correct and sizes are misleading. There is a tiny groove around the outside edge of the stove top that gathers crumbs which are hard to clean out.

In January 2011, we bought several appliances and a refrigerator was one of them. The model number is G15VAXVQ01 which is a side by side, French Door Ref with water and ice on outside. We have had problems with the very cheap plastic drawers that are at the bottom of the refrigerator to hold vegetables and meat. We have to be extremely careful so they will not break when opening the drawers. As of late, the fruit and vegetables have been freezing. I went to change the temperature on the outside gauge and dropped the control to 33 degrees and it stuck there. I tried to unplug the refrigerator to reboot the system, to no avail. The temperature is stuck at 33 degrees which will freeze most of our food in a few hours. The freezer side temperature gauge does work.We also have problems with the ice/water machine. I pushed the water button a week ago and from then on, I couldnt get the ice to come on. I did unplug the refrigerator to reboot and then I was able to switch over to the ice, but I could not get back to the water side. Also, there is no crusher on this machine so the ice comes out in chunks. If we had to do over again, we would not buy a Whirlpool as it appears that they are not interested anymore in quality products and consider cheap junk something to be desired. Not by us! We will get this albatross fixed and see about getting rid of it. It is a buyer beware market so I suggest others beware of Whirlpool products.

How I wish I had read this board before purchasing! This is the worst washing machine made. Put your clothes in the sink, add water to cover two thirds, add detergent, slosh around slowly for a few minutes, wring and remove. You have replicated a Cabrio wash! I have complained repeatedly, had a repairman who assured me it was working properly (as designed, too little water, too little agitation). I was a lifetime Whirlpool client.

About two months ago the washer starting stopping and the UL light continued to come on during every spin cycle. So I would adjust the clothes and start it again. So I decided that I should call a certified serviceman to come out and access the problem. Today a certified serviceman came out to access the problem. After about twenty minutes I was told the tub needed to be replaced and the cost and labor would be $600 or more. I do realize that the washer is about 8 years old but to completely need a repair like a new tub. I am very upset and have no idea what to do.

Purchased a new French door Whirlpool fridge May. It replaced a Whirlpool that was here when we purchased the home. Ten days after purchase the fridge went to 21 degrees and began freezing over food and drinks. Yesterday a tech replaced parts to repair the fridge. Today the fridge is once again at 21 degrees and freezing food and drinks. We live in a relatively rural area. Tech cant come back until six days from now. Very disappointed. Wish we considered another brand.

Bought a water heater on May 5th for 539.00 and was unable to get hot water all the time. After many days and dealing with Lowes which did not help and Whirlpool, I discovered that the unit I bought had no dip tube to bring the cold water to the bottom to be heated and thus provide hot water to the hot water outlet on the heater to the rest of the house. People at Lowes had no dip tubes and really have no knowledge of what is going on as the people at Whirlpool whom I called.

I am writing this complaint because of the very poor service of Whirlpool. My washing machine broke after 1 year of use. Luckily, I was on my 2-year insurance. The wiring fully collapsed and I needed to change the whole drum. I called Whirlpools customer service and they said that they would fix the problem after 2 weeks. They came on the day and found out the problem and ordered a new drum. They said they would fix it up on the 5th of December, and it has already been over 3 weeks. On the 4th of December, Whirlpool called me and said that the item they had ordered for me has been damaged. I am not satisfied by these products because it is only a drum (it cant break that easily). I cannot recommend this company to my friends and family due to the quality of the products and the poor customer service as I was waiting on the phone for almost an hour trying to get through.

Please do not buy any Whirlpool product. Worst product and customer support. I got a new refrigerator on dec 2020, just after 1 month I started facing issues. I complained about that and 3 times they changed many parts. Still I am facing same issues. It doesn’t cool, makes too much sound. Every time I have to spend 30 mins in registering a complaint and sometimes they just close it on their own without even attending to it. So weird. Though the product is under warranty, it’s been more than 6 months that nobody has rectified the complaint. Even now my complaint is still pending. If I call customer support, they just provide some number and ask me to call them. Service representatives take their own time and not at all Serious about complaints. This kind of service they provide to customers. Beware of buying whirlpool products. Worst ever products and service.

I was very excited when Melanie from Whirlpool customer service called me back about my complaint. WHAT A JOKE! I thought she was going to offer at least a repair considering by her own admission this same problem with my control panel of my double oven happened just last May (dead for the third time). Instead she offered me 15 to 30% off a new product if I bought it in the next 30 days! ARE YOU KIDDING ME?The first time the control panel died was when I used the self-cleaning feature. The oven never turned on again. Cost me hundreds. I have been afraid to use the self-clean feature ever since. The second time was in May and is no longer under warranty? Again it cost me hundreds!! Now I am supposed to be happy with 15% off another one of your products? Why would I have any faith in any of your products? I have since found out that Whirlpool has had so many problems with this model - they have quit making it. The repair man says Whirlpool cant make the control panels fast enough to keep up with all the repairs but this is still not under warranty - how about a recall? Do you guys stand by your products at all?

Wish I had done more homework before I purchased a Cabrio washer and dryer.
Wish I had done more homework before I purchased a Cabrio washer and dryer. The washer uses so little water that I sometimes find dry spots on clothing when I take it out. How can it possibly be clean if it doesnt even get entirely wet? I now pre-rinse all of my underwear before putting it in the machine. I know the instructions say not to put in wet clothing, but if it breaks sooner, Ill get to replace it sooner with a more traditional model. I always use the lowest spin speed - anything else makes my clothes hopelessly wrinkled. I like the large tub for washing blankets and comforters. Thats about the only advantage I can think of. The dryer sensor quite often goes off after about 2 minutes if I use any setting other than the delicate or timed features. Ive had the machines for 2 years and had the dryer repaired once under the extended warranty I purchased. Very disappointing purchase.

Whirlpool N50T61-403 - I bought this thing today 8.21.14 from Lowes. It is a Whirlpool 50-Gal water heater (6th sense) and was going to have it installed by their installer, but elected after seeing it was very similar to lining up with my old unit. I got it in and then filled it. After filling, I lit the pilot light per the instructions then turned the knob for heating it up. Success, the flame spread across the burners...then went out. The steady blink changed to the 2 blink code indicating a bad thermopile. It did not work - right out of the box. No plumber near me carries the part. Whirlpool has thus been pretty good about it offering to have someone come out at their cost... But if no one has the parts, that is no good. I am moving from this house so if we can get it to work, its the problem for the next owner. If not - Ill have to get an RMA and go back to Lowes... Then try the Rheem from Home Depot. Will see if they will overnight a part tomorrow. I found the other reviews - and I dont like it that this thing appears to have difficulty right out of the box.

My Side-by-Side Whirlpool fridge which I bought very expensive in Colombia
My Side-by-Side Whirlpool fridge which I bought very expensive in Colombia one year ago had the glass shelves totally cloudy and foggy. You could hardly see what was inside. 8 technicians were sent through the authorized center to meet warranties to check the fridge. The first 7 technicians(!) did not have a clue of what the problem was. After many calls, they sent a supervisor who discovered the problem and finally, after 10 months of this battle, they changed the fridge for a new one. But guess what?! I received the new fridge 2 weeks ago and the new one has exactly the same problem. I am very disappointed and I do not know what to do at this point. Going through the same process again makes me sick but losing my money and all the time invested in this product makes me furious. Is there any way that Whirlpool can help me through this forum?

Purchased Whirlpool refrigerator at Lowe’s. Refrigerator would never get cold enough, so I exchanged with a Whirlpool Gold side-by-side refrigerator. After installation coffee was spilled behind refrigerator. I was unable to pull refrigerator out from wall to clean coffee spill from behind. When checking with Lowe’s on the 35th day, I was informed that Lowe’s 30 days warranty had expired and I would have to work directly with Whirlpool.I discovered it was very hard to communicate with Whirlpool; there was a problem that they only had on file the first refrigerator I purchased not the one I kept. The Whirlpool service rep did not seem very cooperative but with insistence they told me they would change my information to the correct model and serial number and a repair order was sent to a local service shop. The problem with not being able to roll the refrigerator out from the wall is that Whirlpool had changed their wheels to a tri-wheel support and there was not enough height on the single front wheel to lift the refrigerator to clear the screw down leveling stops on each corner. The service rep had no solution for the problem and had to call the Whirlpool service. He indicated he never was able to get assistance from that department. I told him I would talk to them as the consumer but they refused to discuss the matter with me, so I gave the phone back to the service tech. Whirlpool told the service tech to order replacement wheels of which I knew this would not resolve the problem. After two weeks, the replacement wheels arrived, the service tech installed them and as I expected they did not resolve the problem. I then requested the service tech to remove the rubber from the stops on the corner to allow for the additional required clearance and this solution worked. This is a very poor design for Whirlpool, but I accepted the results. Two weeks later I receive a phone call from the service business and they tell me that Whirlpool did not have the refrigerator model/serial number they worked on. Whirlpool was not willing to resolve the problem I had with them initially and the service business would have to bill me directly and was not covered under the warranty. At this point I lost it and informed the service business I resolved this model/serial number with Whirlpool before. Whirlpool gave them the authorization to work on the refrigerator and they would need to collect the fees from Whirlpool. I have purchased my last Whirlpool appliance mostly because Whirlpool makes it very difficult or refuses to talk to the consumer and it appears the quality is no longer there. Will Whirlpool become the next Kodak? With this kind of service, people will just quit buying from them.

We purchased a Whirlpool refrigerator in 2010, model #ED2KHAXVB01, side by side with ice maker. Fortunately, we purchased a 5-year service contract at the same time because the ice maker has broken twice. Unfortunately, I have had to replace the shelves while still under warranty quite a few times. The sides of these glass shelves are made of poor quality plastic and crack constantly. The drawers are the same way. The refrigerator is no longer under the warranty and Whirlpool wants $109 per shelf. I told them I would pay for replacement shelves only if they could send shelves that were made with better quality materials. Otherwise, I might be spending $1000 per year replacing shelves. The Whirlpool representative told me there is nothing that they can do. I see many people with this problem posting complaints on the internet. Do not buy a Whirlpool refrigerator. I have been married for 37 years and never had to replace one shelf in any refrigerator and still have a 40-year old refrigerator in my basement with no broken shelves!

Of course I did not know until my washer went and had service come to my house. He explained prior information, looked at my machine for 2 seconds and said someone put in a heavy load that machine was not able to handle and 2 belts broke and guts of machine are destroyed. Its a $799 fix, not including labor, youre better off buying a new machine. How does he know thats the reason for breaking??? The machine is 2 years old, not a scratch on it!!! Unbelievable!!!! Then states thats $114 for the service call. $114 for 2 seconds!!! Im absolutely furious!!! Whirlpool has a new program (if it helps anyone), if your machine is fairly new they will give you a invoice for 1/2 off a new Whirlpool... Take it from there. There should be a tremendous action lawsuit, look at all these complaints...

We bought an oven built in from IKEA - Whirlpool. It didnt work from the beginning. We called for a technician, who comes in the next day, took the defective part and ordered a new one. Took two weeks to arrive. Now I just found out that I will have to wait another week for somebody to come and install the replaced part. I am very disappointed with their way to serve me as a client. I explained to them that itd be nice if the technician it will come at the first hour in the morning ex. 9 am so I can go back to work after that. Which is not possible. The tech is more important than you as a customer. The technician will give you a 2 hours windows to arrive and after that who knows how long it will take the repair. So far I have this build-in-oven in the kitchen just for design, is not useful I doubt that it will be working soon. The lady who called me from Whirlpool Canada was giving me theyre the option in the manner or take or leave it.To be honest, I regret buying this oven, so far I havent used. Wasted my time trying to get them to be more efficient, but got the message from them that I dont matter. Never been treated so wrong by somebody who is working in customer service. The first call it was coming from a company which is located in Maple Ridge, BC phone number 604-466-5597 and when I insisted on having the repair being done asap they hung up on me. I asked for supervisor or a manager, and they told me they are not allowed to give any of those on the phone... Buying this oven was a mistake, trying to deal with them another mistake. I dont recommend to anybody this oven or dealing with Whirlpool Canada.

I purchased a lot of Whirlpool appliances -- washer/dryer, dishwasher, microwave, and now a Whirlpool stainless steel refrigerator. This was approximately the end of 2014. Not long after I purchased the refrigerator, the front started with small rust stains. I notified Whirlpool and all they said was call Scratch-b-gone in California. My refrigerator should have been under warranty. They offered no other help. I live-chatted this morning and they say the same thing -- call another company. You are now out of service. Im so very disappointed in Whirlpool and will definitely rethink purchasing another Whirlpool appliance. My other stainless steel appliances are not having a rust problem -- just the refrigerator. Whirlpool Refrigerator model #GI6FARXXY0 - Bought this refrigerator at Las Vegas Store #3305 Home Depot, 12/07/2012. July 2014, the ice maker stops working. I replace it with another Whirlpool ice maker and that one stops and leaks water from the dispenser all over my floor. Im on my 3rd ice maker and its not working! I have no warranty but still...a refrigerator should last longer than this at these prices. Im trying to research problems with this refrigerator and it looks like now the refrigerator model has been discontinued! Cant find anything on it. I paid close to $1,800.00 and it lasted 1 year 1/2? Its turning into a money pit. My question is... after looking at all of the complaints concerning ice makers and water leaks on Whirlpool refrigerators... why hasnt Whirlpool addressed this problem with a recall?? Obviously, these ice makers are faulty even the ones you replace them with. The repairman told me there are no warranties and they would not take returns on them. Whirlpool knows there is a problem and doesnt address it. Consumers should be protected from businesses that know of problems and refuse to take care of them with customers. They are still selling faulty Whirlpool ice makers??? I paid extra to have a working ice maker and expected it to last more than a year and half for the price of this French Door, bottom freezer, refrigerator did. The doors look terrible as they do not clean nicely and leave streaks. From the looks of some of these complaints, this may only be a beginning of problems with this appliance. Totally disappointed in this product. I know I wont be looking at any more Whirlpool products. Im disgusted with their faulty products and no accountability. If theres a recall, count me in!

Im so disappointed with this product. Its only a couple of years old, which seems fairly new as my old washer was over 20 years old when I finally got rid of it because of the noise it was making! First, the Cabrio stopped draining and spinning, even though the display showed that the cycle was done. Phoned Whirlpool, and the best they could do was send out a repairman - at our cost, of course! We refused, and kept using the machine - put it on for an extra drain and spin. Then, it stopped working completely! My husband hauled it out to a repair shop and was told it needs a new motherboard at a cost of $400 plus labor! I own a Whirlpool Cabrio washer, model #WTW7800XWO. The lid to the washer has completely detached for lack of a better word. It literally blew-off during the spin cycle and is hanging on by one hinge. My husband is disabled and I have had to go without using the washer for several days, waiting on a repair person not to mention the expense that will be incurred. This was a very potentially dangerous situation. My washer is barely older than one year. To add insult to injury, when I contacted the customer service department, I was told I would have to purchase and replace the lid or pay $299.00 for warranty insurance to have it covered because this is not considered a Quality Control issue. The service person has told me that both hinges and the lid will have to be ordered and replaced, leaving me without a washer for several more days. No one has been able to tell me why this happened. I fear this happening again after repair and do not feel safe with this washer. I would appreciate a response as soon as possible.

Needless to say, the cracks started just after the 1-year warranty expired. If only one shelf was cracking, it could be my fault; but since all are cracking (some on the front, some on the back and some in multiple places), I believe this is a design flaw and should be covered by the manufacturer.
