This washer started out to be good. Its only 5 yrs old. We began to smell an odor. Went to Lowes, spoke with someone in appliance dept. Purchased something for washer. DID NOT WORK. We have tried bleach everything. Our clothes smell. I have skin rashes and I think it is related to mold and mildew. Called the service center. They said could be a sock stuck around the tub area. They need to recall this washer. We spent a lot of money and it has ruined everything. Cannot get the odor out. We cannot afford another one. There is black mold around the rubber lining when you open up the door.

Purchased a WDF530PLYM3 Whirlpool dishwasher at Lowes in 2013. Now Ive paid $96.00 to Whirlpools authorized repairman to tell me it needs over $400.00 worth of parts (user interface and control board). He informed me with new digital controls, you MUST purchase extended warranty because they are not built to last and repairs are ridiculously expensive.

Cabrio top loading washer - I have had this set for 3 years. The first 8 months it was fine, then came all the rust. I had to go to the BBB and file a complaint as everyone at Whirlpool would not help. Last year they finally replaced the top, and now, its rust yet again. I rinse and dry the machine when I am done using it. The repair man said it was because manufacturers are not using primer and just one coat of cheap paint. What now? Ill see if I can get the lid off and sand it and use rust preventer on it. Never again, I should just junk this piece of crap and Whirlpool should shut down if they cant make anything worth our hard earned money.

Bought a Whirlpool dishwasher about 2 years ago. Used it once a day for one year. The bushings already need replacing (maybe $3 to make) and it’s $270 for the part or $280 for whole motor. Do the math. Not impressed.

This Whirlpool is great with a side by side refrigerator and freezer. I love the ice maker and water on the freezer side door. The refrigerator keeps my veggies and fruit fresh and crisp. Has a water filter purification that makes the water taste like mountain spring water.

Our 3 1/2 year old dishwasher is falling apart. First the left slider broke on the top rack. We ordered a replacement part ($74) and when ready to install, discovered the right rack was also falling apart. At that same moment, the rollers fell off the bottom rack! It seems the plastic parts cannot tolerate the heat in this dishwasher (just a guess). We’ve returned the new replacement part and are shopping for a new dishwasher. It will not be anything from the Whirlpool line!

I have purchased all new Whirlpool appliances for our new home in March 2009. I have had trouble with the refrigerator door panel and will not switch between ice and water. Cost to replace over $100.00. Now its the range. When turning on the oven, my wife said she saw a flash of bright light and then I turned around and it was smoking up the house! I quickly pull the stove out and unplugged the stove. I then remove the back panel and found the right side of the control panel was burned. Had I not pulled the plug, a fire would have started. I have pictures to prove that! The cost to replace the control panel is $267.00 and that doesnt cover the repair man coming out to test if anything else is bad!

Buyer beware. There was a class action lawsuit filed for our Whirlpool dishwasher some years ago. The control panel shorted and or overheated on ours in February of 2021, causing it to emit white plastic smelling smoke. (Glad we were home when we ran it.) I opened the door to turn it off and it continued to run, smoke and spray water all over the kitchen. Called Fire Department. Filed a complaint with Whirlpool. They sent a repair person to inspect and take photos. Its been 6 weeks and still have not received a call from them. I bought a Frigidaire. It is made by Electrolux. FYI, Kenmore is also made by Whirlpool.

I complained the machine was too loud and clothes seemed too wet - the call was under warranty but tech was unable to verify complaint. So guess what? On Jan. 21, 2013, machine sounds like a stressed jet engine. Now we are diagnosed with a bad gear case for a total repair of $439. Now we are not under warranty and Whirlpool takes no responsibility. We bought our Cabrio set 2 yrs ago. They have worked fine, until about 4 weeks ago when we begun getting what looks like bleach stains on our dark and colored clothes. I blamed my wife for using bleach or splashing it accidentally. So today it happened again, and no bleach was used or even open near the machine. This was the third load today and the first one was towels, no damage, 2nd load whites and light underwear with some spotting, third load pair of pants and pair of shorts ruined. What is happening?

Initially felt the burners and oven took a LONG time to heat up, but just accepted it. After a year and a half, the motherboard died. The part alone was almost $400 and labor $100. The self clean does not work very well. Glass top is very hard to clean. It has a large oven space and looks nice, but would avoid Whirlpool at all costs following this experience.

When it overflowed because the system failed to detect the water temperature, called and they sent in the temp sensor (I paid for shipping). Had plumber replace it. One day later the same thing happened, called and they sent in a board. Same exact thing happened. By this time, Im without hot water for over 2 weeks in dead cold January on the East coast. They will replace the water heater but only a 50 gallon NOT the 80 because they no longer manufactured the 80. Option given by Lowes is to add a recirculating pump to give additional gallons. But, of course Whirlpool said NO. They only can give me the 50 gallon. What a ripoff!!! Please, please DO NOT purchase any product from Whirlpool. Now they change the same to A.O. In less than a year my gas range required a new knob because it froze in place. They covered that but not the 4 new knobs since. I must clarify, its not actually the knobs but the thing underneath that my husband has had to replace ever since to our expense and time. Also in less than a year the paint under the knobs totally fell off. We contacted them about that and the reply was paint wasnt covered under warranty. Obviously they used heat resistant paint on the range top because that is perfect condition even with the constant cleaning, but the angled front where the knobs are I had to sand and repaint, not a good look for the stove. They really couldnt have just used the heat resistant paint for 2 1/2 farther? Just horrible quality and worse service. I used to be devoted to Whirlpool but since buying my new refrigerator - Samsung 100 percent from now on!

Whirlpool/Ikea Renlig dishwasher - Since installing this integrated dishwasher it has continuously destroyed the decorative panel door. On my model (they have recently changed in 2014) the steam exits at the top, this damages whatever it comes into contact with it. Today they are saying that it has not been installed correctly and that it should actually sit out from the countertop, i.e. jut out from the rest of the kitchen so that the steam can vent into the room. The panel should also be lower than the other doors of the kitchen cabinetry too. Hardly integrated and would be a bloody eyesore. I am about to call them back again and inform them that I will be making a scene about this in my local Ikea and with anyone else who cares to listen.

They inform me that its a cosmetic issue and that they are not going to repair it. They told me to use touch up paint. The paint has chipped more than once and Im afraid this is going to be an ongoing issue. Its obviously a product defect (my last fridge lasted 27 years without incident). First, I was put on hold by the first female for 44 minutes, and then a second woman finally answered, and said she didnt know why she would send me to her, because she was in the sales department, and she put me on hold for another 25 minutes. I finally had to go, because I had an appointment. When I got home, I called back, and got a man by the name of John, and at least he recommended he could schedule a repairman. The problem I told him is, the inside wall of my refrigerator has 2 cracks on the side, and a crack on the back wall. I dont want a repairman to come, just to tell me he cant put 2 new walls inside of my refrigerator. I could not find an email, so I could email Whirlpool about this problem, and definitely, they were of no help. I bought the refrigerator at Lowes late 2003. I have never, in my life, seen the inside walls of a fridge do this. I spent a lot of money for this, for it to crack on the inside walls. It does not seem like something is right with this.

Purchased a new Whirlpool Energy Smart 50 gallon water heater from Lowes to replace our existing old one that had gone bad. Never again!! Had it professionally installed by one of Lowes installers. I have no problem with the installer.... the water heater was a piece of junk. From the first day we had sporadic hot water and to get that you had to have a hot water tap turned on full force. If you turned the tap to a lesser flow you got cold water. Couldnt get a hot shower at all. Contacted Whirlpool customer service 4 times by phone and 3 times by email. Horrible !!!! If I had read all the reviews ahead of time I would never have purchased a Whirlpool water heater. Each time contacting their customer service I was informed I had a plumbing problem... probably a cold water line was feeding into my hot water line??? Really??? After living in this house for 20 years all of a sudden I have a cold water line magically connect itself into my main hot water feed? I even set the temperature up as much as it would go. Could easily hold my hand under the hot water without getting burned. Most of their phone reps sounded like they were reading from a check list sheet and no desire to actually listen to what I was telling them. One even sent me a PDF file via email that had nothing to do with the problem I was describing to them. I finally told them after two weeks of this that I couldnt live with this situation and they said Well our technicians are 38 miles from you and we wont send one that far to check it. Asking what I could do they said Id have to hire someone (they werent able to tell me if I should hire a plumber or electrician) and Id have to pay for it and they would reimburse me. Sensing that this might be a fruitless task I resorted to calling the Lowes store where I purchased it and asked their advice. They offered to send out the original installer to check it out and work with Whirlpool over the phone. Like I said, I have no complaints with the installer, he was fast and professional. I stood there while their technician/customer service had him go through a few tests on the unit. All of that proved nothing except in their minds that nothing was wrong with their unit. He got off the phone and told me They refuse to accept any responsibility for the product being bad. I asked him what was I supposed to do. He got on the phone with the manager of the Lowes store and they agreed to swap it out at no charge to me. I of course was very happy but told them after all of this I didnt want another Energy Smart type water heater and that I didnt trust the electronics at all. He agreed to swap it out for a regular type and give me a credit for any difference in cost. Had this all done in one day and am very pleased with Lowes commitment to customer service. The new heater (still a Whirlpool sad to say) appears to be working fine just like my old one did. So much for it being a problem with my plumbing. After reading all the complaints about Whirlpool water heaters, I guess Im not looking forward to much of a life expectancy with this one and Im certainly not even going to attempt to call Whirlpool customer service if I do. This whole thing cost me $700 and as far as Im concerned Ill flush $700 down the toilet before buying another Whirlpool product. I still would love to know how any person with half a brain could tell me I had a plumbing problem when all that was done was removal of an old water heater and replaced with a new one. Thats two pipes people...cold water in, hot water out. I see that there was some type of class action lawsuit filed against Whirlpool. Maybe they need another one filed or forbidden to sell water heaters ever again.

I purchased this set in November 2013, it is now October 2014. I made the same mistake as many others have made (according to the reviews that I have read on this site). Because I have owned Whirlpool brand appliances before - including washers/dryers - I assumed this new HE machine set would be every bit as good + quality. Unfortunately, I did not do my homework!Everyone is right - this Cabrio HE washer/dryer combo is nothing more than expensive JUNK!. My complaints are all the same as everyone elses: the clothes do not get clean, soap residue remains on clothes, the clothes even have parts of the articles come out of the wash cycle dry not even having had the water touch the articles in areas! The dryer has been repaired once already for a dryer sensor problem & overheating, now both the washer & dryer are making some ridiculous hum-drum noises! Even with the extended warranty that I purchased, I can see the loop holes built into it; theyve got me over a barrel with the nonsense mumble-jumble tactics of having to qualify for adequate service repairs for replacement of parts (3x on each machine) they cant find, before even attempting to negotiate a buyout that will never happen. Never again, Whirlpool anything!!!

I purchased this Deep Cabrio Washer and Dryer a year ago. We moved into our new house and put in the new washer and dryer. During the first load in the washer, the spin cycle blew the ring right off of the hose and flooded our new laundry room and bedroom in the basement. My husband had to put a clamp on it to secure it. The washer does not wash the clothes, in fact you have to always wash it under Deep Water and wash it twice using twice as much detergent as you normally would. This washer is horrendous. My best friend bought the same one at the same time and she hates it just as much as I do as it does not clean clothes. Whoever designed this washer should be fired from Whirlpool. Updated on 03/15/2020: We bought this eight years ago to replace a 20-year-old Maytag that had finally developed a rust-related leak after serving us faithfully and needing only one almost trivial repair ($10 DIY lid switch replacement) over that period. I have replaced the water pump, the gear case, rotating seal (3 times), the lid switch striker (3 times), and the replacement gear case is making noises indicating incipient bearing failure. In its finite wisdom, Whirlpool decided to make the failure-prone main bearing irreplaceable, which means you have to replace the entire gear case, at a best-case cost of $120 and a worst-case cost of $300, plus labor, unless you do the work yourself, as I do. The secondary issue is mold and a musty odor. The most effective way to eliminate this is to pull the drum (non-trivial, requires a car jack, a 2x4, and a special spanner/wrench) and swab down the inside of the tub with disinfectant. (Been there ... done that three times over 8 years.)Original Review: I am in the process of replacing the bottom seal on my 6-year-old Whirlpool Cabrio (WTW5500XW2) washer. This will be the fourth major repair I have done on it. Fortunately, I can do the work myself and know how to find the best price on parts, but it is still discouraging that a lightly-used washer would have so many problems in such as short time. (It replaced a 20-year-old Maytag that finally rusted out.) Repairs to date: 1) replaced drain pump motor; 2) replaced lid switch; 3) removed basket twice to clean outer tub, due to mold and odors; 4) replaced suspension rods due to excessive spin vibration; 5) out of commission awaiting a new bottom seal. Total cost of parts (labor was on me) is well over $100.

Friends and family dont you ever dare to buy a refrigerator from Whirlpool - Best Buy!!! They sold me a defect refrigerator and after 2 months begging to see a technician, they are telling me that they are going to fix it. Im so tired of them trying to fix it. Theyve been here 4 times with no luck. All my food is rotten and frozen. And its a new refrigerator. Gosh. As you can see, the water in the plastic cup that I left in my refrigerator are frozen which is not supposed to happen. I feel that Im dealing with nonsense. They dont care. They just took my money and thats it. Im left with a new defect refrigerator that doesnt work. Ridiculous.

I purchased a Whirlpool side by side refrigerator and it was delivered on 1/22/22. We had it five weeks working fine then on 2/27/22 it stopped working. Whirlpool service came out and said it was the compressor but all parts are on backorder and no telling when they will be in. Maybe Lowes would replace it, but no because it is longer than 30 days. Lowes when I bought the fridge had over 400 of the same refrigerator in stock so why is it they couldnt had replaced it. Or if Whirlpool sells items on their own why didnt they just replace it. We have been going on 3 weeks without a fridge. With all of this said it didnt even last the 7 years they say they last for now. That is ridiculous when the last one lasted 20 years. In 7 years I will be on a fixed income how am I suppose to keep living. Something is wrong here.

Tried for several days to schedule service call for my leaking whirlpool ref/freezer. Waiting on hold to speak to a rep... transferred to another dept. - on hold again listening to a recording advising me of the unusual high volume of calls to call back at a later time (should have been my clue of all the problems with their product). I had three different Whirlpool phone numbers given to me from the reps I spoke with. I would like a refund for my extended warranty. I have called an independent service company and will pay for the repair. I will not buy or recommend Whirlpool or their products.

I bought my washer duet (model WFW94HEXL2) in Sept. 2011. Today is Jan. 2013 and it has been a year and four months since I got the washer. I decided not to buy an extended warranty. Its only my husband and I at the house so we take really good care of our appliances. The washer stopped working and is giving me a code F-6/E3/E1. Basically, I need to change the central control unit ($350), door latch ($120) and labor ($180), for a total of $656.13. Really? I paid $1,105.00 for the washer. Im really upset. I called Whirlpool and they said the item is out the warranty and there is nothing they can do. I am really upset.

The technician came and said my ventilation system was the problem and didnt even touch the unit. He then sent a report to Whirlpool that the unit was flooded which voided my warranty. He did not submit photos to substantiate his water damage claim and now Im being told the unit is unsafe and must be replaced at my expense. This all sounds like collusion to not honor the warranty! I purchased a Whirlpool Duet washer in Jan. 2011 and there has been 3 problems. There has been water leaking, loud/banging noises during the spin cycle, and torn clothing. Technicians have visited 4 times in 7 months. At this point, I forsee more problems in the future. I spoke to a supervisor at Whirlpool and I asked if the washer could be exchanged. I was told, If it is repairable then we will continue to repair it. I was also told that I could purchase an additional 1 or 2 year warranty. A comment like that makes me believe that the company foresees problems in the future as well. A company like Whirlpool should realize that customers should not have to spend time leaving work early or taking off to meet with a technician about an appliance so often or at all! I have owned a washer in the past but it was left when we sold the home and I never experienced any problems!

We purchased a Whirlpool Accubake Drop-in Stove (Model # RS675PXG015) on 10/21/2006 from Lowes Companies, which cost $1,100.00. In 11/2012, we had an error message E1-F2, and we tried everything to get it to clear - all suggestions given by electrical repairman who does repair for Lowes Cos. The stove is porcelain, which also has problems of staining that cant be cleaned. We were told the repair would cost $200 for the panel, and if that doesnt work, another $400 for the other panel. In reviewing other complaints for this Whirlpool stove, there are enough complaints to recall this item or at least give deep cuts for the parts to repair this stove. We have purchased other Whirlpool items, and this one is not well made and too costly to repair. It should last at least 15 years or more. Cant Whirlpool do something about this obvious problem?

Whirlpool appliance suite purchased May 2013. Whirlpool Gold French door refrigerator with bottom freezer, Model #GX5FHTXV. At the end of my kitchen remodel, I was excited to have my new Whirlpool appliances delivered by an authorized Whirlpool installer. When the refrigerator install was complete, I alerted the delivery people the French doors were not aligned properly. There was at least 1/4 difference at the top of the doors. They did their best to fix the problem to no avail.I called the Specialty Appliance store to complain and they had a repair man come a few short days later to examine the issue. He inspected the problem and had to order new door parts. A few long weeks later, the repair man came to install the new parts. Well, to my disgust, the new parts did not fix the problem. This next sentence only refers to the place I bought the darn thing. I then called Specialty Appliance to inquire about returning the appliance and of course they wouldnt take the appliance. Im stuck with it. The workman ship is cheap. The internal drawers are poor at best. I spent a good deal of money on what I thought would be a good product. My previous appliance suite was Whirlpool and I NEVER had issues the 13 years I had them.Whirlpool Gold freestanding double oven gas range, Model #GGG388LX. Problem: oven catches fire while self-cleaning oven. Big problem. Takes forever to get rid of the smell that leaves behind. The range itself has worked well. No issues with cooktop and its easy to clean. The grates dont stay black and look rusted in a couple of places. Oven cooks well as I know how to make adjustments as to not overcook meals.Following cleaning instructions provided by Whirlpool, I wipe out the oven (when cool) after spills if there are any. I thought I would run the self clean since Ive had the appliance over a year to properly maintain it. BAD IDEA. After running the self clean cycle for about 35 min, I noticed fire. Wanting to protect my $60K remodel investment, I quickly cancelled the clean cycle and watched smoke pour out of the top. Not a fun experience. It took about 15 minutes for the fire inside the bottom compartment to finally go out. Wont be self cleaning my self-clean oven again! By the way, I didnt clean the oven with chemicals because the owners manual states not to and I HATE using those chemical anyway. Again, stuck with an appliance I am not satisfied with. Lesson learned? Yes, I will NEVER buy a Whirlpool product again. Kinda wish I still had my old white ones...

I am writing this review because I have been working with Whirlpool regardi
I am writing this review because I have been working with Whirlpool regarding our Cabrio washer for the last 9 months. Ever since we got this washer, it leaves a stain on our clothes, especially dark cottons. It looks like a grease stain. The machine is still under warranty (though we did purchase the 5 year warranty), and we have had the technicians out 3 times to figure out the problem and fix it. They even had another company come out to do a second opinion. They are stating that the machine is functioning and therefore there is nothing they can do for me. All of the tests the technicians do come out normal, and therefore the machine is functioning, never mind that it still leaves stains on many of our clothes on a regular basis.I spoke with someone yesterday who was unable to help, stating there was nothing they could do. So, I asked for her superior, he stated that it is functioning properly, and that I should take the advice of one of the technicians who suggested I mix the soap with water beforehand because he is pretty certain it is soap residue (though he admitted I dont use too much when I showed him how much I use). Never mind the fact that if I have to do something more than the directions state, it isnt working properly, we have already done this and it doesnt stop the residue from happening. He still just continued to say that is what the technician said would help so that is what Im supposed to do.So, I asked for his manager. I am currently waiting for them to call me back. I am hoping they will do the right thing and just exchange it for a different washing machine, one that will work. I dont care what kind, whether its brand new or not, I just want a washing machine that actually cleans my clothes instead of leaving a residue on them.We do agree with the technician that said it was soap residue. We have a picture of a pile of dry soap in the dispenser (which the first technician told me to switch to) after the washer had finished its cycle. The washer doesnt have enough water mix with the soap to keep it from leaving a residue on the clothes. And, the residue doesnt just wash off if I wash it again (which shouldnt need to be done with a washer that is less than a year old anyway). It is a permanent stain unless we scrub it with Lestoil - an oil remover. But, that takes time and it needs to be washed twice to get the Lestoil scent out, which then gives it the chance to get new stains from the washer! Its an endless cycle. Needless to say, I have NOT been impressed with this washer.

I purchased a new Whirlpool top load washer and dryer in 2012. I heard all kinds of crazy stories about all the new machines, so I tried to stay with the regular top load style. About 6 months ago my machine seems to have lost its mind! I tried unplugging it, but thats just a temporary fix, it goes right back to its antics! I had my last washer and dryer for over 12 years. We purchased a top of the line (we thought) Whirlpool stainless dishwasher 15 months ago from HHGregg. All was fine until 2 weeks ago - it produced a burning smell and was making a funny noise. We had it looked out. The motor is burning out. I called Whirlpool and explained the issue. There is nothing they can do. It is over 12 months. Really? They cant stand behind their product? I understand if it was a small part or such but an entire motor burning out in just over a year? I know that not all products can be perfect, some times mistakes slip through the line. I guess it was silly of me to expect a company in todays age to stand behind their name and product. Obviously, with this company, it is buyer beware.

The salesperson was great but we are not happy with our washer. We already had it swapped out once because of white spots showing up on our clothes. The only thing they could think of was that the bleach I used wasnt rinsing out completely so it showed up on our clothes. Recently, I washed a table runner by itself and it had some red in it. Now there are red spots on a couple of items that I washed after the runner. My husband just now asked why there were red spots on a shirt that he wears all the time. I explained. Also, we have had some white spots on clothes and I could scratch it out without leaving a permanent mark. Were no longer using bleach and we use only liquid detergent and all of it is HE. I had a Whirlpool oven for 14 years. It worked great and the control board burned up during the cleaning cycle. I purchased a new whirlpool oven that did not have an exposed bottom heating element. It takes way too long to preheat and if during baking, you need to change the temperature, it starts preheating again and the displayed temperature is lower than the original temperature that was set at the beginning; and it takes too long for the oven to reach the new temperature. This appears to be the result of the bottom heating element being hidden. Heating and maintaining a consistent temperature is far more important than being able to clean the bottom of the oven especially when this is a self-cleaning oven.Updated on October 20, 2015: This is an update on my last review. I was cooking a cake at 350 degrees and when the designated time was up, I opened the door to check for doneness. The cake needed to cook a little longer, so I closed the door and the temperature immediately went to 300 degrees and started preheating again which of course caused the oven to get too hot for the cake I was baking. Who is designing these ovens??? Certainly not a person that cooks on a day-to-day basis. I will never buy a Whirlpool oven again.

Twelve years ago we bought an LPG Whirlpool range for our new home in Rio Rancho, NM. About 5 years ago, a tenant at our home reported a gas leak and the propane company determined that the Whirlpool range was at fault. The dealer in Albuquerque repaired the leak, by replacing all the valves at a cost of $470. A week ago, after a propane fill, once again, at least one valve was found to be leaking. Apparently, Whirlpool does not know how to make a valve that holds up over time. Over a 7 year period, I paid almost double the cost of the stove, only having to replace it at 12 years. These stoves are DANGEROUS! I will not purchase another Whirlpool product for the rest of my life.

Remind you that this water heater is brand new and has not worked since day 1. They said the plumber would cost $130 and they would pay for parts. Why am I having to pay when my water heater has never worked. Paid the money. Had them come. They replaced a part, did not work, replaced another and it did not work, so the plumber requested a new water heater. Whirlpool refused. What is the point of paying and they are not going to fix it.Whirlpool insisted it was our ventilation even though all test proved that was not the problem. So out of pocket again to fix the ventilation and it did not work. After 2 months of no hot water with a two-year old at home we had someone we know come look at it and fixed the main pipe. The beat goes on. My Cabrio washer is still down. After working for a mere 14 months, the control board died, and the machine would not spin out water. The repairman ordered a new one. Though the part arrived several days earlier than predicted, the repair service said they could not send anyone out, until our scheduled appointment. At last, today, the repairman arrived. I am ready to start whittling down the mountains of laundry we have stuffed in every closet. Some areas of my house are starting to smell like a locker room. It is not convenient for us to haul everything to a laundromat, or impose on a relative who lives nearby. The repairman was in the laundry room for at least 45 minutes, and then very apologetically tells us that the part is bad. It will not work at all. He has ordered a new one, and requested rush service, which I think they will ignore. I cant help but think these parts are manufactured somewhere outside the USA. Well, listen to this Whirlpool, I would rather pay $25 more for this part, and have your washing machine work. Dirty laundry might seem unimportant to you. It is not unimportant to us! If you cant do better than this, make something else. I am furious, and will spread this news to everyone I know, and I will report on this situation again.

Im very frustrated. I bought a Whirlpool Refrigerator for nearly $1300 in Sept. 11. It is a side-by-side Model #ED5KVEXVL00. The refrigerator side started warming up to the point that we noticed. We put a thermometer inside to confirm; it went up to nearly 60 degrees. We tried cleaning any dust underneath from the coils and even unplugged it for a while. The compressor appears to be the potential problem. Sears is not sending a repair guy for 2 WEEKS (It is a hot July here in NY)!!!!We are saddened that Whirlpool says it is out of the one-year warranty - so now we are facing the choice of a large repair bill or buying a new refrigerator. What a waste of money... Its not even 2 years and it needs service or a dumpster. Shame on Whirlpool for not standing up for customers when clearly there is something wrong with this machine so close to the warranty and so new. Sears and Whirlpool - youve lost me as a future appliance customer!!! :(

UL code displayed for six months. Will not spin. Makes a squeaking noise. Recently noticed a black greasy residue around the machine. The bottom of the machine is covered with it. Have had the Cabrio for 5 years. Seems like a bearings issue. Expensive machine. Whirlpool said there are no reported issues with my model even though there are thousands of people on several websites who are having the same issues. Apparently, Whirlpool is in denial and not willing to save face with consumers and correct a horrible washing machine. Definitely will never purchase another Whirlpool appliance.

Does the CEO know you do not stand behind your products? My washer is not even a year old and cost about $400.00. And you have stuck about $1800.00 into repairs instead of replacing a lemon washer! The washer had problems the 2nd month I owned it and you stuck a new clutch in out. Now just about everything replaced, it still does not work so I will order more parts. This is ridiculous. I would love to hear back from your CEO and would like to be reimbursed for 5 days of pay to take off and wait for repair men, laundry mat fees, etc!

I have been given a runaround for over a month to get my refrigerator fixed. They gave me a defected piece and it broke down in less than a year. I have been calling them up every day and they put me on hold forever-then they ask for all the details and direct me to another company. I purchased the Whirlpool Cabrio Washer thinking I was purchasing a quality product. Unfortunately it was one of the worst decision my wife and I have made. The bearings (lower) only last about 2 years. We purchased the extended warranty and the first time it was covered. The second set were not covered and now we will have to change them again. We will not ever purchase another Whirlpool product. I contacted them several times with no positive results. I still saved the last worn out bearings to show the CEO. The engineers do not have a very good idea to make the lower bearing last. Where I purchased the machine they told me after the first change that it would happen again and they were correct. If anyone needs to contact me about this product feel free. NEVER EVER BUY A WHIRLPOOL PRODUCT.

OMG. We had just purchased a house in Clermont Fl. At Appliance Direct on Citrus Tower, worse experience. Imagine my husband and myself had recently retired. Therefore we wanted to make sure whatever we purchased was to last since its not easy to replace anything on our fixed income. A few mos later the ice maker would make noise in the middle of the night and would not fill up completely. 1 yr it stopped making ice completely. We went to Appliance Direct only to find out that nothing could have been done. We purchased the extra warranty for approx 391 dollars. We then were told by Whirlpool that we would have to wait 60 days. The time came and the customer service now tells us that the breakdown happened the same month we purchased the warranty so we would have to pay ourselves to have it fixed. We went ahead and paid for the repair.A few mos after the ice maker stopped again and the bottom freezer would not freeze anything. Our food spoiled etc. We called Whirlpool now that the warranty was now ok. We had to wait for an appointment with the company of their choice. The repairman came and stated that the part had to be ordered before we can get ice and freezer working. Waited almost 2 weeks for that. Repair done and soon after, like 4 days later we still didnt have ice. Called again, another company was sent... all over again we waited for 2 parts.. He assured us that we should be good. 2 mos now were getting half capacity ice and freezer doesnt freeze everything. Ice cream is a no no.So much money (2500 dollars) paid for that piece of junk. The repairman told us “forget about replacement, the company will send a repairman once a month if they have to“. Its frustrating and some days I wish I could just put it on the sidewalk for the garbage truck. I cant afford to go out and buy a new one (of course it would not be Whirlpool). In the meantime this company Whirlpool is making all this money from selling these junk. I am mad like hell and tell everyone to stay away from Whirlpool. I wish Id purchased a Samsung instead. I could climb the top of a mountain and shout: Dont buy Whirlpool.

3-4 years ago, I had replaced my hot water heater with a Whirlpool, which was purchased at Lowes. On 10/23/11, I awoke to a flooded basement from the said water heater. When I entered the basement, I was able to verify that the water was spraying right from the casing of the unit. Who knows how long it had been spraying, but the place was a complete mess. The water was about 10 inches deep and many things were ruined. I proceeded back to Lowes and purchased another exact unit. This morning I awoke to the sound of what seemed to be water bubbling, only to enter the basement and see exactly what I saw just three weeks previously... another flooded basement from water just pouring out the side of the unit. This is an obvious defect in craftsmanship. Now I find myself with a flooded basement, no hot water, and a decision to make. Do I fight for another replacement or give up on the brand? A replacement water heater will solve my lack of hot water but for now, the question is for how long? Not to mention the cost and time spent with the clean up I did twice.

My $800 Whirlpool Duet Sport Electric Dryer quit working less than 4 years
My $800 Whirlpool Duet Sport Electric Dryer quit working less than 4 years from purchase and needs a new electronic control board. My service tech called Whirlpool to confirm that this is the problem because replacing the thermal fuse did not solve the fact that my dryer wasnt working: Code F01. Diagnosing and repairing the dryer will cost me $375! I am deeply disappointed. I will definitely explore other brands before ever trusting a Whirlpool appliance because I know the company could have done more such as offering to cover or discount the $210 control board, because everyone I have talked with (friends, family, my appliance service company manager, Whirlpool customer service rep) agreed that this is a rare problem and that your dryers are engineered to work 10-12 years. However, as a company, Whirlpool gets an ** for customer service.

Whirlpool Refrigerator WRS526SIAH00. Well we have always had a lot of trust
Whirlpool Refrigerator WRS526SIAH00. Well we have always had a lot of trust in Whirlpool appliances over the years. Just about everything we have is Whirlpool brand including water heater. We remodeled our kitchen and bought a new refrigerator in July 2013 (just for the color/look change). We have had nothing but problems from day one with the water/ice dispenser water may or may not work. Now (AUG 2015) the refrigerator side started freezing our food, milk and tea gallon jugs frozen solid. Went down a self fix list on an appliance parts website using our fridge symptoms, said it was probably the bimetal defrost thermostat. Replaced that part. It didnt fix it.So I did my own troubleshooting and found the cold air was continuing to push from freezer into fridge area, found this cheaply made plastic damper broke and stuck open. Now that part will cost another $50+. Whirlpool knows about these cheaply made parts they have put in these appliances. You cant even get to this part without taking things apart. This is a cheap manufacturers plastic part and Whirlpool knows it. Its not the consumers fault. It was a joke when we received an extended warranty offer from Whirlpool for just $208 per year or $626 for 5 years - I wouldnt spend another dime with Whirlpool. The price is high because they know how many parts are breaking on these units. You shouldnt have any repairs for 10 years on a refrigerator. We are stuck with a lot of Whirlpool products now, but we are done with this brand. Dont waste your money.

I feel that at the end of the day I do owe Whirlpool a good feedback. Our top load washer stopped rinsing so I checked the clutch, agitator dogs and coupler which all looked brand new. So I thought Id take the trans apart and after pulling the plastic agitator out I noticed the tub had completely rusted in half! The tub dropped down about an inch. The agitator would spin but the tub just sat there. Now came the difficult part. I told them I was quite sure about my diagnostic that it needed a new tub and told them I could send them a video (I even posted a video on Facebook and Twitter). But they said they would have to send a man out at $180 to make sure! After several days of back and forth conversations, someone at Whirlpool finally saw the video and agreed to send us a new tub. I havent gotten it yet but have heard through the grapevine that these tubs were supposed to be replaced if rusted because of the quality of metal used? So other than pulling a few teeth and needing to replace the tub, our washer has been a pretty good machine.

The clock-timer went out. Appliance is only 1yr. 6mo. old. I CONSIDER THIS STILL A NEW APPLIANCE. This is the 2nd Whirlpool appliance, I bought a Whirlpool washer & dryer. The washer went after 2yrs. use. I bought a Kenmore used washer and it still works. I paid cash for the stove. It was bought at a Sears outlet in Cudahy, WI for $398.58 total with the one year warranty. I really have not gotten the use of the price. I guarantee you (this company) I will NEVER buy another Whirlpool appliance again. TOO BAD YOU COULD NOT RETURN A PARTIAL OF THIS MONEY TOO ME!!!!! I have a Sears repairman coming today 8-3-13 costing me $75.00 just to walk in the door.

This is the noisiest refrigerator I have owned. The compressor is so noisy I have to turn the TV up to hear over the fridge in the kitchen. The compressor runs almost constantly, they say thats to make it more efficient. I have called whirlpool and all they say is that it is normal. This unit replace a older Whirlpool fridge that you had to put your ear against to hear it running. It is now on our porch for cold drinks. This will be the last whirlpool product I purchase.

We have a Whirlpool Gold fridge that was manufactured in 2009. MOD: GS2KVAXS01. SER: HRY0570897 and it has not been cooling properly for the last few weeks. Some days it is fine, the next day not and we have had to throw our a lot of rotting food. We got the fridge checked out and were told the Electronic Control Box for the fridge was not working. My question is, why would a Whirlpool Gold fridge that costs $1800 or so have such a large issue with 3 years? Its practically a brand new fridge and Im outraged that a large part of the fridge is not working. I understand parts break and there is warranty but its pretty bad that after the warranty expires the control box would become defective. I have been a loyal Whirlpool customer and solely buy the brand and this break upsets me very much. Especially since replacing the part will cost me $400 plus labor, we are talking about a part costing 30% of the total fridge cost! That is ridiculous. I am hoping there is something you can do to rectify this, as a fridge manufactured by what I thought was a great company should not cause such an issue and I would like to continue to buy Whirlpool products but not if this is the case.We have called Whirlpool customer service many times to be ignored, berated, told I cannot speak to a supervisor and nothing will be done. Never in my entire life have I ever known a company so horrible to exist. I have had bad service before but this takes the cake. Plus, no company that I have ever dealt with would ignore you and not provide any discount or remedy. I cant believe this is a big brand with the way they carry on. You would assume they would be some one person owned company who doesn’t have a penny to spare. I don’t respect this company at all and expect a resolution because they are truly insulting in all the channels.

I had noticed water on the floor and just thought someone left the freezer open. It started happening about every other day. I read online that it was probably from the drain in the bottom on the freezer being clogged or frozen, and I found instructions on how to fix it. After we took the door off, the drawers out, and the back panel off, then we started thawing the drain. Finally, I got it cleared out. Here I am, a month later, there’s water on the floor again.

I have been a dedicated Whirlpool customer for 50 years. I purchased my new, Cabrio washer and dryer in 2011. The dryer works fine. The washer does not. It ties everything in knots. Most everything comes out in one large, wrinkled lump. When washing sheets, it wraps the whole load in a soaking wet, fitted sheet bubble. You cannot wash one item by itself, because it will become unbalanced and shutdown. I will say that I havent had any repairs yet, but I have a feeling, its only a matter of time. I have decided to buy a new washer, but it will not be a Whirlpool.

I purchased a range and refrigerator from Whirlpool and have had nothing but problems with them ever since. Ive only had the range for years and (2) of the top burners are no longer working. Again, the refrigerator is only 5 years old and its handle has broken 5 times. I have needed to replace the handle every year that Ive owned the refrigerator. Whirlpool only offered a (1) years warranty for these faulty appliances and then immediately started to bug me about purchasing an extended warranty. I guess they knew that their junk would hold up, so they started pushing a warranty. Finally, their customer service while apologetic, are very robotic and appeared to have heard my complaint before. So, SAVE YOURSELF SOME AGGRAVATION AND PURCHASE ANOTHER BRAND. For if you dont heed my warning just know that youve been warned.

Over the last 3 years, the self-cleaning oven has decided to lock the door
Over the last 3 years, the self-cleaning oven has decided to lock the door and clean itself with my food still inside on five different occasions. There is no way to override the lock. We have to shut off the electric power completely then wait for the oven to cool down before we can open the door and remove the charcoal substances! This happened once while a member of our fire department was here for dinner. This is one of the most frustrating and dangerous events ever! Please, please, please do not purchase a Whirlpool self-cleaning oven! I will never purchase one again. I was so excited to have a glass top stove and the first time this happened, I thought it was just a freak occurrence. But it is happening again and again. My oven is kept clean in attempt to avoid this, but to no avail. Not only am I afraid of a fire, but Im also out too many dollars of food waste! How disappointing to be cooking dinner and have it ruined by the oven. Nothing was burning in the oven at the time it decided to lock itself either! Disappointed, frustrated, and extremely miffed!
