My fridge stainless steel doors rusted on after Whirlpool Customer Service
My fridge stainless steel doors rusted on after Whirlpool Customer Service told me to buy and use Affresh (a Whirlpool product) to clean them! The fridge was only 12 days old when this occurred, imagine my shock and disappointment. Whirlpool Customer Service reps then sent me another one of their products Whirlpool Stainless Steel Brightener with instructions to clean it every day for 3 weeks and it would resolve the rust problem. It didnt resolve the rust problem. 2 repairmen from different companies have looked at the doors and shook their heads that Whirlpools own Customer Service department recommended a product for a fridge that rusted it and then they take no responsibility for it! Whirlpool knows these stainless steel fridges have the potential to rust. Its listed in their manual. Unfortunately, buyers arent given a copy of that manual to peruse BEFORE they buy the product. I would never have purchased this Whirlpool fridge had I seen that! I have now since read of other Whirlpool stainless steel fridges rusting.

I would not buy any Honeywell electronic water heater thermostat. Has failed two times. I have to pay for a new one to be mailed and for repair. A bad product from all the reviews. Honeywell is claiming they do not service it anymore and gave me a Sears telephone number. Servicemen have said it is a crap product and fails all the time.

The unit I live in is at **. They purchased it in Nov 2011. The washing machine worked for 2 months. Now, it has to be dismantled at my home and take a day off. I would like a replacement. The Dutchgate is still being developed. They purchased at least 60 at this point, there is no reason not to give me a new one instead of having two techs dismantle the machine in my new home for 4 hours and a day off of work. Model WFC7500VWl, serial CD13528709. Please try to assist me.

Do NOT buy this machine. This has been the worst washer I have ever owned. There are times when my clothes come out of the washer and parts of them are STILL DRY! I pulled out a pair of pants I had worn while cleaning my attic and the cobwebs were still attached to the legs! Whirlpool basically told me, Tough luck, you bought it, were not doing anything, when I complained the day I bought it, and now years later it it continues to get worse. The machine was too expensive to just get rid of, but customer be warned - do NOT buy a Cabrio!

While the washer is great, the reliability of the dryer is lacking. The timer has broken 3 times on ours in 3 years. Each time the cost of the switch is $75.00. Too much plastic on the shaft. If the plastic was removed, and the shaft was metal, it would be a definite improvement.

We purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio washer and dryer set in 2013. In 11 months we have made at least 6 calls concerning the same issues machine leaving white residue on clothes. It has been one thing after another. Today the manager told me that my warranty only covered parts and not a replacement machine. I am washing my clothes two or three times to get them so we can wear them. First this is not saving water, energy, time and most of all CLOTHES. We are wearing our clothes out washing them. This is unacceptable. With this many complaints, the company has to know they have a machine with issues. I will never purchase Whirlpool again. I think we should all band together and file an action against Whirlpool. These machine cost too much money to be crappy.

1.0 out of 5. This is the absolute worst washer that I have ever owned. Do NOT fall for the top loader hype. The clothes do not get clean. Anything black constantly comes out with a white residue and whites are dingy. Ive tried numerous detergents and used as little as a tablespoon and still get the same results. The company just insists that its too much detergent or that I need to run the clean cycle after every 4-5 loads. The service guy that came out said this is the number 1 complaint with these washers and Ive talked to plenty of friends that experience the same issue. The company would have you think this is the first time they have heard of it.I have spent hours on the phone with whirlpool and Home Depot over the past year and neither accept responsibility or offer any solution other than some free cleaning tablets from Whirlpool and Home Depot offered $200 off the purchase of another washer. This was when the washer was only 6 months old. The only way around this is to rewash the clothes and a second cycle and to wash all loads on bulk load with an extra rinse. Yep. Great water savings there! Save yourself the headache and dont buy a top loader of any brand and I would never buy another appliance of any kind from Whirlpool and Home Depot because of their poor customer service in handling this common issue.

We have a 2008 Whirlpool gas range that has worked reasonably well but lately more and more of the electronic push switches on the keypad have stopped functioning. So now I cant set an oven temperature as only a few of the 10 number switches still work. I talked to an appliance repair guy who said that the typical electronic keypads are notorious for burning out after 3-5 years because of heat transfer from the oven. So now Im stuck with an oven that is virtually unusable and a $400-500 cost to replace the keypad control. Is it worth replacing? Can the faulty control buttons be somehow fixed? Shouldnt Whirlpool acknowledge the faulty design and provide a free (and hopefully better) keypad? There must be thousands of people out there with similar circumstances. What about a class action suit? Any advice/opinions out there?

We bought a new Whirlpool gold gas stove. We had just finished redoing our complete kitchen, and thought it would be nice to replace appliances. I thought Whirlpool had a reputable name and good service record, but clearly, I should have checked. Three months after installing the stove, the handle pulled right off the door. We called the service tech who came in, took the door apart, and replaced the handle, but for some reason, installed different and incorrect screws for the door. Over the next 7 or 8 months, the handle pulled off twice more, and we repeated the cycle. At this point in time, we had been experiencing a situation where the stove would shut itself off. Bear in mind, it is less than 18 months old. Even now, the oven heats, and mid way through cooking anything, it decides to shut itself off. Clearly, there are issues with Whirlpool products, and when I called them, they want to do nothing about it. They jockey me around, from one service person to the next, frustrating me as I have to retell the issues to each new individual, and then they only tell me a replaced board, which would cost more than $600, is the way to go. Ive had this stove for 2 years, and it is seriously the biggest piece of garbage anyone ever put out on the market. Apparently there are no recalls on it, and so apparently, Whirlpool is more interested in ripping off their customers, than standing behind their product. I am currently seeking permission in a local paper to write a public service piece. I hope people will read it, and avoid this company at all costs. I hope whirlpool enjoys it. I dont know how they have turned a blind eye to all these complaints. As far as what I have read, with regards to other whirlpool problems, exploding glass, dangerous fumes, etc. They should be investigated, because what they are pulling off is criminal. If I want someone to steal from me, Ill leave my doors open, and let them come take me for what I have. I dont need to support a company that is stealing from me, while they wear smile on their face.

Absolutely read the reviews on this machine before deciding on a purchase. I have experienced with great frustration every issue addressed in other reviews. Clothes constantly have to be rewashed. The Quick cycle will leave your clothes in a puddle of water. But then there is no spin only cycle to correct that. I have purchased Whirlpool washers before with great satisfaction but this machine is not worth the money I paid for it and does not save me on water or electricity costs because of all the rewashing I have to do. Like others I am stuck with this machine until it dies. You lost me as a customer, Whirlpool.

My machine has been ripping clothes for a few years but I thought, initially, that it was a snap, zipper or hook causing the problem. I recently got fed up and found this: **. It makes it pretty clear that it is a manufacturing defect. I called their customer service centre and spoke to a supervisor that told me it is normal wear and tear and that perhaps the glass in the door had worn out. Yes, thats right, she said maybe the glass has worn out. They are offering ZERO assistance in what would be a $500+ repair for me. Admittedly, my machine is five years old and out of warranty, but to me, when the repair is to install an entirely new style of door so that the clothes no longer get caught underneath, it is a defect. 43 different models of their machines are included in this issue and it was identified in 2012, a year before my machine was made. Why didnt they correct it before that?

We got a brand new bottom freezer french door Whirlpool refrigerator in our brand new apartment. Since we moved in last week the temperature control in the refrigerator box has failed three times. The freezer stays cold but the coils are frosted solid and no cooling gets up to the refrigerator box. We turned on moisture control but that didnt help. The users manual is completely useless and in fact doesnt even match the control panel. The numbers for temperature settings on the instructions dont match the numbers on the panel. We had to turn off and thaw out the unit completely three times already and this is just the first week! Last night the building maintenance guys came in and sprayed the back panel of the freezer with warm water. He said he talked to the GE tech, who suggested we also increase the freezer temperature settings to 4 and the refrigerator to 44. But this morning the temperature rose again. It sure sounds to me like the daily defrost cycle isnt running at all and nobody wants to consider that possibility. Thaw the unit several times a week is completely ridiculous. Our food has experienced so many temperature excursions who knows whether its any good now. I cant wait to get my first taste of salmonella. This is what you get when you combine junk with poor service.

Horrible Customer Experience. After having my Whirlpool side by side with bottom freezer for 5 months it quit cooling (both freezer and refrig portions). This happened on a Saturday evening and Whirlpool was closed until Monday (no emergency service shown on their website for my area). Whirlpool contacted their service agent and they could not come out until Wednesday. Service tech said compressor was bad and had to order new one. Compressor arrived the next day however they could not come back until the following Monday to install. By this time I was without a refrigerator for 9 days. Techs installed new compressor and by Tuesday it quit cooling again! Tech came out the next day and said he thought the problem was the compressor and now says its the evaporator. I had to wait until the next week before they would come and install the new evap. By that time I will be without a refrig/freezer for 16 days. I contacted Whirlpool customer service and talked to several different people and all they would offer me is $50. I will never purchase a Whirlpool product again!

A new washer, kept in pristine condition, indoors in an upstairs laundry room, used by 1 person for 4 years should NOT rust out. I took pictures and sent them to Julia ** a company representative after she offered me a discount on a new washer but would not send me an email with directions like it was some kind of secret until I insisted several times. The email simply had her phone number. I was to let her know the models I would be interested in and she would tell me if those were available for the discount. Then the company would charge me, deliver the new one and charge me to install and remove the old one. How is this for a great company. I sent her the models I might consider. No word back. Whirlpool, not looking like a stand-up company to be proud of. Shame on this company.I like the machine, but seeing it rust out before my very eyes has changed my mind. How will they address a 4 year old washer rusting from the inside out? How will they address a 1 year warranty? I found a copy of Whirlpool Washer Warranty that used to have up to five years for issues such as poor workmanship. It takes more than a year to find these things out. Dont make them if you cant guarantee that they will last. My last Maytag lasted 18 years and was still in good shape. I just wanted a model without the agitator in the middle and on that would conserve water. Should have kept the old one.

I purchased the Whirlpool Duet Steam Washer and Dryer in the spring of 2010. Washer bearings just broke. I was told that the bearings in these machines are not strong enough to support the spin cycles. It is very disappointing to think that a company like Whirlpool would have their customers pay $1000 for a machine they know is not going to last. I agree with Julie. Maybe a class action lawsuit needs to be filed. Is there a lemon law for washing machines?

We bought a side by side refrigerator/freezer in 2013 from our local Best Buy. We have usually bought Whirlpool appliances. Before we bought this refrigerator the last Whirlpool we had for 25 years. This past week our refrigerator went out. We called a repair man. He said the circuit board was out and would cost $450.00 to replace it. We decided to buy a new one. I am very disappointed that it only lasted 7 years. Oh I forgot to mention the ice maker went out about a year ago. We did get new filters as instructed. We did not buy another Whirlpool.

Atlanta Gas Light Company showed up at my door Saturday Jan 16, 2016 citing they needed to do maintenance on our meter. 20 minutes later, he came in and said we had a leak. He checked all of the furnaces and water heater, then zeroed in on my brand new Whirlpool Range (purchased 11/11/15) indicating it had a faulty control valve. This faulty and dangerous range was sold to me by Lowes and manufactured by Whirlpool and we had unknowingly been living with a gas leak for 2 1/2 months! Its notable that Atlanta Gas Light sends our contractors only every 3 years to test for gas leaks. I shudder to think what would have happened had they not done this. Ill never buy another Whirlpool anything. Model Number: WFG320M0BB0.

We bought our dishwasher April 2018. This morning I noticed the paint had bubbled above the heat vent (area 3x 1/2). Upon closer inspection, the the paint was also peeling. We called the company to see if they would replace the skin but the agent said the only thing they could do was send us touch-up paint. The door is considered cosmetic & only covered for 30 days. If we wanted to replace the door panel, we were welcome to buy one from them. However as this seems to be a manufacturing defect, we would be replacing the door every 16 months. When we realized whirlpool wouldnt back their product, my husband looked a little closer to see what needed to be done & found that it had rusted under the paint & painting on top of rust will adhere properly.

I need to start by saying I or we, my wife and I are both disabled - her with a head injury and a prosthetic leg and walks with a cane and myself well Im stuck in a wheelchair, this makes grocery shopping more of a chore for us than most people and putting things away is part two for this chore. I figured Id buy the biggest, best (LOL) refrigerator Whirlpool had to offer, so I could do our grocery shopping once a month and have a place for everything and the fridge being so big would be capable of holding a months worth of food. It performs that function very well! The problem began when I purchased this wonderful piece of quality craftsmanship (cough) at Lowes in Denton Texas on 6/19/13. While one delivery guy stood on my sidewalk talking to me, we watched the one other guy bringing my rather large brand new Whirlpool refrigerator up the driveway with a regular (not an appliance) dolly. After getting to the end of the driveway and having to go through the front yard to get to the sidewalk, the monster fridge started leaning and eventually ended up on its side in the front yard, needless to say I was a little concerned about damage. They continued to get it in the house after providing me a nice gouge in the door frame before realizing it may be best to take the front door off before entry. So after getting it to the kitchen and removing the box we noticed the left door was way out of whack, so the delivery guy called his boss and we all agreed I needed a new refrigerator. A week later my second new refrigerator was delivered, no box around this one but it made it all the way into the kitchen without a hitch or any more scraps in the front door frame.Three months of dealing with water running down from the ice maker into the door storage areas I made my first service call, the guy said Whirlpool doesnt always put the correct thickness of gasket between the ice machine door and the ice bucket. He ordered gaskets and installed them the next week. Water continued to run down the door from the ice bucket to the shelf storage. 5/14/14 I called for another problem. The refrigerator seems to be running all the time, and there was a fan starting and stopping continuously as well. This was Miles Appliance - he seen the water running down the door and squirted a tube of sealer in the ice machine, replaced the little plastic fan and said that should fix it! I let the Whirlpool service scheduler talk me into the extended warranty since my one year warranty was about to expire so I bit and bought the warranty. 7/18/14 the fridge had a new sound going on for the last few days and still seems to be running all the time. I called for another warrant service, this time I drew In Home Appliance Repair. After waiting three days a guy comes out, verifies the fridge isnt cooling properly and tells me to unplug it for three days, so the ice ball that has formed somewhere can melt, that the noise I was hearing was a fan rubbing against the ice ball. So three more days go by and I plug in the fridge. Two days later the freezer has only cooled to 50 degrees. I called In Home Appliance Repair and they told me Id have to call into Assurant to make another service ticket, which I did. It takes two to three days for service tickets to get processes. After the second day, I called McNiels in Denton to see when I was going to receive my service, they didnt have a ticket for me. I told them Assurant said they would be providing my warranty service. McNiels told me they only service what they sell! I called Assurant back, they turned it over the scheduling gods. Three days later they set me up with a repairman 45 miles away. After waiting on him for four days he says he just doesnt have time to come by and pick up my refrigerator to take to his shop. I call Assurant again and am told its being turned over to the scheduling gods again. Three more days go by and they set me back up with In Home Appliance Repair. I call and they tell me they will be out on July 7 2014. The evening of July 6, 2014 In Home Appliance Repair calls and tells me theyve decided since the defrosting didnt fix the problem two weeks ago it was a system failure and they dont do that type of repair, they would call Assurant for a different service provider. I call Assurant to see whats up, they tell me A&E Factory will be out on July 13,2014. Now nearing a month WITHOUT a refrigerator and still not knowing how long its going to take to fix the problem! If Whirlpool is trusting Assurant to provide extended warranty service then thats exactly what they should be doing, it certainly isnt my fault they cant get service people out in a timely manner to resolve appliance issues. Its not like being without a stove or microwave - this is a refrigerator!!! This is the poorest service I have ever received from Whirlpool and Ive been a faithful Whirlpool customer for many years. In my opinion they should bring me a new fridge, haul this piece of crap to the nearest dump and be done with it! And after reading some of these posts there are lots of people that feel the same way about their appliances. This type of Customer Service needs to STOP, $2700.00 for a refrigerator and have to deal with crap like this is crazy!!!

WHIRLPOOL WASHER FOR SALE! Your clothes will come out just a bit dirty, but thats OK isnt it? (You can see for yourself.) Oh yeah the Smell. OMG, its a heavenly Wet Dog smell. I know youll be as happy as I am with this WHIRLPOOL CABRIO WASHER. I almost forgot to mention, that most clothes will come out dry (not because of the high power spinning cycle) so youll save on your power bill, since you’re not using the dryer... This is a must have WHIRLPOOL CABRIO WASHER - NEW, ENERGY EFFICIENT. Youll use little to no water, another savings! But youll spend a wee bit more for the HE detergent, sorry! Oh yeah I forgot to mention its still under WHIRLPOOL 1 YEAR WARRANTY. Youll BE GLAD YOU PURCHASED THIS WONDERFUL MACHINE... Just as I am! :-)Back ground & Information about problems: A) We purchased the Cabrio Model# WTW5840BW0 washer 8 months ago and it has been nothing but trouble. And yes Im very busy in the summer - always on the go with school, kids, vacation, homework, finals, and work, etc. For the past 2.5 months. Started off by not spinning out, first problem. Does not fill up on deep washer cycle. Clothes come out as dirty as when I put them in. I have pictures. Some clothes never get wet; no water touches them (Small/Large loads). Now whites are coming out with yellow blotches on them. The clothes smell like Wet Dog - yes wet dog. Ive used the Powerball cleaner three times in 8 months. Yes, a service man has been out. He recalibrated everything. Now it’s worse. He is/has ordered ALL new computer parts, and I do mean ALL. If you need to replace every computer part on a brand new machine, I feel as if this alone, is a red flag… Wouldnt you agree?Im not happy with your Whirlpool Cabrio Washer and no longer want this washer. Maybe a different one, but not this one! It has been nothing but a headache. What can be done? Ive called Whirlpool USA 4-5 time being on endless hold @ the 800-253-1301 number and finally today is the first time talking to a rep. The young man was nice; however Im still no closer to getting this machine fixed today! Ugh. I would not recommend the CABRIO WASHER to anyone at this point. You can understand, cant you? B) Sad ;-( I had to tell my husband he was right and I was wrong about the new washer, and not to mention the smell he has been complaining about. Yuck...Explanation: I had washed towels in the new WHIRLPOOL and did not get around to folding them. Then after washing last night outside (yes outside) in the ole GE. I was folding the towels and happened to pick up the first set washed (Whirlpool); put them to my face and sniffed, yuck! WET DOG came to mind. Then sniffed the ones washed in the GE and he was right. I was wrong! Ugh... A $800+ Whirlpool is in the laundry room yet, Im outside on the deck - again yes Im hanging out with the mosquitoes on our deck washing clothes with the good ole GE. (It’s outside because it need a shutoff switch, or something like that.) Lesson learned the expensive way, dont buy a computerized Whirlpool washer. Its money down the drain... Needless to say Im not happy at all with this product.

Whirlpool built-in electric oven self-cleaning (model # GBS307PRS01) has a problem with self-cleaning. Every time you use the self-cleaning feature, the thermal fuse switch and thermostat burn up. This has happened on the two occasions when the self cleaning feature was used. The only thing that Whirlpool will tell you is that there is no recall on that model.

We purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio Washer (Mod #WTW7300XW1) and Dryer in 2011. Ever since we have had the washer it has eaten clothing, towels, sheets etc. It now has a main bearing that is so noisy that we have to close the door to the laundry room to be able to hear in the rest of the house. Also the sealed tank around the drum is now leaking. We invested close to $1000.00 in this washer and in my opinion it is a piece of junk. The washer repairman told me that he has had 3 (three) other Cabrios with the same problem in the last month, but Whirlpool says that there is nothing they can do as they have had no issues with this problem. Last Whirlpool product that I will buy.

Purchased Whirlpool side by side June 2010. Within a few months realized major problem with ice maker. Reservoir on door would leak and freeze inside the door. Service man out at least twice, advised to maintain service contract as would continue to have issues. It still leaks, freezes up and does not dispense properly. Now the inside liner of the refrigerator is cracking and neither the warranty company nor the WHIRLPOOL Manufacture Co. will stand by their product. It is my intent to warn as many people as possible, so they will not have the same bad experiences.

My mother bought these two years ago along with a washing machine and fridge. And now they are falling apart. The dishwasher wouldnt clean the dishes so my mother called the warranty people. It took a week to have someone come out and say it was fixed. The very first load it wouldnt clean the dishes. Now it takes another week to have someone to come out and say they need to order a part. Once the part gets here two weeks later it took 6 hours to fix. They replace the whole bottom half of the dishwasher, could have easily replaced the whole unit. Now a week later the clothes dryer doesnt turn on.

Whirlpool - good price for pair. I have had this pair for over 10 years and they work good and are reliable even though they were not the top of the line models. Large capacity is a must - energy efficient is also a must. Discounts are nice to get but if not available I will go with a name brand. I want a washer with an agitator not one of the new ones that dont have one. Reliability is the most important factor so repairs are not needed. I want a full size washer with several cycles and all cycles have a cold rinse to save energy. Having a center agitator is a must - cant stand the newer ones.

I have always liked Whirlpool products but it seems lately they are lagging in this department. My washer/dryer combo each separate I dont feel are doing the job they should be. Washer is the bigger problem. Softner dispenser not distributing the softner correctly and now I have to clean out after each use. These are about 10 years old now. Is not spinning all the water out and not at all sure if clothes are getting clean. Most of their products usually lasted much longer back a few years.

In a recent decision regarding the highly expensive, supposed elite performing Whirlpool Gold refrigerators, a group of unsatisfied Whirlpool owners who are tired of cleaning water puddles from in front of their new refrigerators have hired all automobile corporations to manufacture cars only available to the CEO, Executive Board as well as the entire engineering staff at Whirlpool. These cars will be guaranteed to run ok. However, once the car is heated up under normal working conditions, the cars will be guaranteed to leak oil all over whatever surface they are parked upon. We hope that this will not be an inconvenience to the CEO of Whirlpool; however, perhaps once you have destroyed your new garage floor, you will understand the nature of our complaint with your poorly designed and engineered Whirlpool product. While this letter will have no effect on my current defective product provided to me by Whirlpool, it makes me feel better and I have not had the attention span to listen to my wife complain while she is cleaning up yet another (whirl) pool underneath our fridge.

Ive had it for about 2-3 years and I have already replaced the drain pump, motor and barrens, it has cost me over 500.00. I thought now OK its working fine, but now its giving me a code every time I wash of LD. I am so fed up with this!! I should have bought a new washer but I felt as much as I put into it, I basically built a new one. And now this code comes up every time and I have to power it off. Im not sure if anyone else has had this problem but I just dont know what else could go wrong with this. I will never ever buy a piece of junk like this again!!

Our 2005 whirlpool duet washer steel drum and plastic tub broke. My husband diagnosed the problem and opted to fix it to save money. The parts are under warranty but you still pay labor and technician visit running up to $250-$300. The plastic tub was obtained only if we paid for it $100 and the steel drum they sent under warranty. The plastic tub has a hole with a black plug and sensor in it. There is a discrepancy in the measurement of the old tub and new tubs hole that is slightly larger, therefore when installed a steady stream of water leaks out. I now have 3 plastic tubs as that was their solution, to send more of the same that did not measure correctly. An investigation was done to determine they were the correct parts. As asked we had a whirlpool technician come to verify parts were correct and being installed correctly and the parts sent would not fix the machine due to the hole discrepancy. Many calls were made to whirlpool and they continue to give me the runaround. They now are not taking their technicians information. The technician has given the information to 3 sales reps in the new england area and made several phone calls to whirlpool and no one is willing to give us a solution.

The beat goes on. My Cabrio washer is still down. After working for a mere 14 months, the control board died, and the machine would not spin out water. The repairman ordered a new one. Though the part arrived several days earlier than predicted, the repair service said they could not send anyone out, until our scheduled appointment. At last, today, the repairman arrived. I am ready to start whittling down the mountains of laundry we have stuffed in every closet. Some areas of my house are starting to smell like a locker room. It is not convenient for us to haul everything to a laundromat, or impose on a relative who lives nearby. The repairman was in the laundry room for at least 45 minutes, and then very apologetically tells us that the part is bad. It will not work at all. He has ordered a new one, and requested rush service, which I think they will ignore. I cant help but think these parts are manufactured somewhere outside the USA. Well, listen to this Whirlpool, I would rather pay $25 more for this part, and have your washing machine work. Dirty laundry might seem unimportant to you. It is not unimportant to us! If you cant do better than this, make something else. I am furious, and will spread this news to everyone I know, and I will report on this situation again.

We bought our Whirlpool Refrigerator a little over three years ago. Within a few months we started having problems with the unit. From ice maker issues, cooling and freezing. Initially the frig was covered under Whirlpools 1 year warranty. Then our extended 3 year warranty kicked in through HH Gregg which they supplied for free because of their poor handling of the initial sale. We have lost track in how many times a repair man has come out to work on the refrigerator. In the last year alone its been at least 8 times. The most recent problem had been the freezer not defrosting properly to the point where we had to store food in our neighbors freezer. The repairman has tried everything he knows and is stumped. Well our extended warranty has run out but theyll continue to work on the problem as long as we report the issue within 30 days which creates a whole different set of issues. The extended warranty states they will replace the refrigerator if it has the same problem 3 times. However what they dont tell you is that if you call BEFORE 3 time period its considered a recall and that doesnt count towards the 3 strike rule. We contacted Whirlpool and they wont cover the refrigerator because the repair company isnt on their approved list. Really a Sears repairman isnt approved? So buyer beware of a lemon Whirlpool Frig! They seem to have a way of not covering their product.

We bought a new Whirlpool Dishwasher. Installed it, wife used it for two loads. The third time she tried using it the door sprung and it no longer latches. After two weeks of calling Whirlpool, we finally had someone come out to fix it. After the repairman took a hammer to the frame he stated that it had been dropped. He wobbled the dishwasher back and forth with his hand. He said the frame will never be correctable and we will always have problems. After another week we got a hold of Whirlpool and were told the repairman has ordered parts to repair the dishwasher. Whirlpool is hoping it will hang together until the warranty expires. If the dishwasher were fixable that would be fine. However, when the repairman who has years of experience in his job tells me it will never be right and will always be a problem, I believe him.

Whirlpool WRF 990SLAM00 - Im 62, I have owned, and my family has owned a number of refrigerators and never have had any problems. I have been used to my refrigerators and major appliances lasting 15 plus years without any problems. I mostly bought Maytag washers and GE kitchen appliances. I had trouble with a GE dishwasher, out of warranty, but GE was very nice about it and came out and fixed it at no charge, then replaced it for free when it failed again. (No new problems in 4 yrs.). Then I made the big mistake of going with Whirlpool products in my new house in Florida, where I live half the year. What a mistake. First there was the Cabrio washer. After 1 yr and a week, It would not go to the spin cycle. I called Whirlpool, they said, Sorry, out of warranty. I told them, I only live in this place for half the year, so I have hardly used the machine. The Whirlpool person said, Sorry out of warranty. I asked for a supervisor and they were worse than the first person. The attitude was screw you, you should have bought the extended warranty. I called a repairman who fixed it for 150 dollars. During the spin cycle it gets really loud, but at least it works. Then the refrigerator. I arrived back in FL and the 1.5 year old refrigerator was not cooling. I called Whirlpool and said I needed a repairman. They said, Out of warranty, you can buy an extended warranty for 345 dollars. I said, No, a refrigerator should not fail at 1.5 years, send a repair man. He was great, but said the unit had a Freon leak somewhere in the box that was un-repairable. He told me, You need a new refrigerator. I will now call Whirlpool and see what they will do for me, but I expect little based on my experience with the washer, and others comments above. I will go back to all GE products after this as at least they seem to stand behind their products. Oh, and since Whirlpool now owns Maytag, as Whirlpool owns them now. Sad.

I purchased a condo last year with all appliances included. My Whirlpool refrigerator model is GI6SDRXXY00, a fairly new refrigerator. I noticed orange and moldy spots on ices when dispensing them. I changed the filter, thought maybe it is the filter causing the issue. But after inserting the new filter and emptying the entire ice tray, I still get bad ice! I open the compartment, and surprisingly, found out that the spiral rod inside the ice dispenser was rusted! This is horrible and unacceptable! This is not a user fault but a manufacturing defect. The parts that are in direct contact with what customer consumes should be robust and safe. I contacted customer service, and they gave me a technician phone number which turned out to be a third party which only cares about money. They said they will inspect the refrigerator and will charge me $134.00. I will not use this refrigerator anymore and will replace it soon. AND I will never purchase any more Whirlpool products. This manufacturer is crossed out from my list of vendors who I do business with.

Purchased side-by-side model fridge, and within a month, the ice-maker froze up. Within a year, the relay switch failed, and caused the compressor to fail. What a lemon. Also, the clear bins in the door of the fridge side, have all cracked. They obviously would not cover any cosmetic issues under the warranty.I was one of the lucky ones, at this point, as the repairs were under warranty (expensive compressor, only by one week), had to buy an extended warranty to cover me in the future. My wife and I purchased the Whirlpool calypso washer and dryers and have been regretting ever purchasing a Whirlpool product. Not more than a year and a half after spending thousands of dollars on their products the troubles started. I called the company and they sent someone out to look at it for repair. He vacuumed out the lines and kept restarting it over and over and eventually it started working again and they charged a hundred dollars and something and said there most likely be more problems since they have many calls on this issue. Sure enough it started again and just kept retrying it over and over to get it to work again as well as vacuumed the lines again like he did. Now its at the point it will not work no matter what. It just keeps flashing LD and shuts down. So I did a online search for other consumers having the same problem and was shocked by the amount of the same problem with others (search this model flashing LD and you will see for yourself). When I contacted Whirlpool they played dumb and lied right thru their teeth saying they have no issues with this model and refused to do anything. I have since learned there has been court cases where the courts ruled against them saying that it was defective and had to notify consumers which they never did. Even when the repairman came out nothing was said. I have since learned that all they did was changed the name to a different model which is having the same problem (no kidding!!) and continued to rip the public off in the name of CORPORATE Greed!!!!! I advise everybody never to purchase a Whirlpool product ever again and maybe we can bankrupt them and put them out of business where they belong. All the customer service agents deserve to be unemployed and suffering after long waits on the phone and then lying straight face to the consumers. Pure evil!!!! We all have to stick together and bring these criminals down. How can they say we have no issues when a simple search of Whirlpool Calypso problems with draining and flashing LD and shutting down. There are thousands of people complaining and no action is done. Shame on these people and their souls are lost forever. Never buy a Whirlpool product and tell everybody you know to stay away! They should have their ** and/or ** cut off and have to suffer the same way the struggling consumers are after scrounging up thousands of dollars for a 200-pound metal paper weight that aint worth a damn!!!!

After two major repairs, the repair company said the fas venue (?) suspect board was defective and needed to be replaced by the manufacturer. After 3 weeks of back and forth calls with Whirlpool customer service, the only solution they provided was for me to purchase a new stove at a discount with no compensation for installation, the gas connection kit, or haul-away of the old appliance. The original stove cost me $1100 including the installation, haul-away and taxes. The replacement option would have cost me $800 and still did not included haul-away, the gas installation kit, or taxes. Hardly an affordable solution. I bought a brand new KitchenAid stainless steel refrigerator for close to $3,000.00. It has a big crack in the back casing which Im sure is affecting the seal. We allowed the fridge to regulate for 72 hours (even though it only needs 24) and it didnt cool properly or make ice. 3 calls later to the 800 number (along with three scheduled repair visits) and Im getting the run-around. 1st excuse was that I needed to order parts. 2nd excuse was that it was a bad sensor due to the manufacturer. The 3rd excuse was that the fridge door wasnt aligned properly, thus not sealing properly and not allowing the fridge to regulate, which causes it to freeze over. I purchased a Whirlpool refrigerator for my condo in February of 2012. During the past six months it started to freeze everything in the food compartment, and then during this past month the freezer started to slowly die. Ice cream became soup. After calling repair and examination it appears the fridge has basically died and it would have cost me over $500 to fix a $570 refrigerator. That type of lifespan is unacceptable. Before energy efficiency demands from the government, refrigerators lasted much longer. In the 50s, 60s, the refrigerator my parents owed lasted nearly 30 years. Am I expecting too much? A few days later, they replaced all the brass burner orifices and it all froze and would not turn off. I had to pull the range away from the wall and turn the gas off. The bottom door to the broiler is wide open and it will not close. The stop button for the oven also does not work. This company has been selling these lousy products based on their previous good reputation.

I have been TRYING replace a damaged panel on a $10,000.00 Jenn-Air refrigerator for over 10 months now!! Whirlpool is the supplier of Jenn-Air - I have probably spent at least 3 HOURS on the phone talking with one rep after another who ASSURES me they will deal with my problem!! Last week I gave my credit card # to the rep - who told me my part was sitting there, waiting for my # to be shipped. When I asked why no one had called me to let me know, especially considering the amount of time I have been waiting - she said she didnt know. One week later, I call AGAIN to find out why my credit card does not show the payment. Only this time to talk to a fellow who says my part is still on backorder, and they used my card # to put a $1.00 charge against it - to hold it for when my part arrives.. BUT has NO IDEA when that may be! I feel Angry, totally discouraged, lied to, and used! I will NEVER purchase any appliances under the Whirlpool affiliate. This is abhorrent customer service - a $10,000.00 appliance and this is how it is dealt with!!! Bad, very bad!!

I purchased this refrigerator and have had problems with it from almost the beginning. First, the doors wholl not stay open long enough to remove items. The technician Whirlpool sent out said the cause was an uneven floor. I checked with a level and the floor is almost completely even. So, then it said thats the way it was intended to work. Isnt that what the adjustment wheels on the bottom are supposed to correct? They dont. One individual in Whirlpools customer service department told me that the doors were not a functional part of the fridge and, therefore were not covered by the warranty. What?Next the refrigerator leaked and ruined the ceiling in the floor below. A few weeks after that was fixed (the fridge, not the ceiling), the unit completely shut down and I lost a tremendous amount of food. Bad enough to have to go through this but then to have Whirlpool treat me so the horribly was absurd. Fridge broke on Friday and a service person came out on Wednesday. Tech tells me he has to order the part (control box) and I find out the next day that the part was on back order. I had already been without a fridge for a week when Whirlpool tells me the part was not available until 9/19 (this was on 8/6)! That was not an acceptable solution so I requested a refund or a new fridge. Nope, their job is to repair, not replace. They said they needed 7-10 days to see if they could get the part earlier. What? Then if it couldnt be repaired in a reasonable amount of time they would consider replacing the appliance. They would not define reasonable amount of time.I believe I spoke to about 10 or 12 different whirlpool reps, and was told 4 times that a supervisor would return my call. One person did call back when I was unable to answer the phone and I called her back within 20 minutes. Guess what, she wasnt available and she never responded to my 3 return calls. When I complained that I had spoken to so many different people and was tired of telling the fridge saga to yet another person who would not help me, she volunteered to be my point person. She gave me her direct extension and said she would handle my case. I left 3 or 4 messages for her and she never returned my call. In other words, I was constantly told that I would receive return calls but never did. In summary, no one cared that I had an almost brand new Whirlpool refrigerator that was not working and that the date I could expect a repair was indefinite. In addition to all of that, every time I called they were experiencing a high call volume. Maybe they could hire more staff? When this all started, Home Depot told me I had to go through Whirlpool because it was under their warranty for the first year. Finally I decided to go to the store (after all, I did pay them for the fridge). After 3.5 hours in Home Depot, they agreed to replace the refrigerator. I havent gotten it yet (they did send over a small loaner), I am really hoping this is the end of this fiasco. I want my life back!! !

I have been extremely dissatisfied with the Whirlpool Cabrio washing machine!!! I tried to take it back and Lowes would not let me return it because I had had it for 6 months. It doesnt put enough water in the machine to get all of the clothes wet. It doesnt get the clothes clean and it leaves some kind of lint residue all over dark clothes. I am only able to put in 1/4 of the clothes I put in my Maytag washer which I loved, but it wore out. I am also short and it is so deep I have to use a stool to get up on to reach into so i can reach the bottom of the machine. Even though it is a huge tub, I can only put a few pieces of clothes in it to get it to clean the clothes. It is a very poor design and needs to be recalled!

Quiet Partner II - Our dishwasher racks started to crack and rust very quickly, about two years after purchase. We repaired the racks and tines, but the rust got worse. We replaced our dishwasher today with another brand. Many of the tines on the drying rack had rusted and broken off. We have been told to only purchase Nylon racks. I hope this is good advice. I must admit I had no trouble with the machine as far as cleaning my dishes. I just felt the racks should last longer than two years. Cost to replace racks was about the same as replacing the whole machine.

I purchased a gold series whirlpool dishwasher on July 20th 2014. Today is Dec 31, 2015, for the past month I have been troubleshooting my dishwasher by myself. Because I had a maintenance man here already since I bought the dishwasher and due to Christmas cannot afford another 250 for another visit. Every time I try to wash, at end of any cycle I have tried using, I open the door and find the cascade soap sitting on the bottom of the tub, the dishes still wet and dirty. So I take them all out and hand wash them, I should not have to do this on a washer that is a little over one year old considering the price tag that I paid for it. I am not young anymore and if I wanted to hand wash dishes, I could have used that money for a nice vacation somewhere. The washer stops, start button blinking, I open it up, check it out to make sure everything looks ok, close it and restart again. It sounds like it is working, so I go about my business and come back an hour later to find the same issue. Dishes will not wash soap on the bottom of the tub again. This has been nothing but trouble since I purchased it. I have never had a problem with my old dishwasher until it got too old. On top of it all, I had to buy another clothes washer from the same manufacturer that now took over. This was only 5 years old and the motor burnt out. I had two maintenance men here from the Maytag/whirlpool company and they filled me in. So I had it hauled out of here and I bought an LG for another good price. It seems to me that it is all about money and they make nothing but crap. Now. I need to make another decision. About this POS dishwasher! What to do?

We bought this on sale but we're really glad we did. I was surprised how quiet it was while cleaning the dishes, insulation I guess makes it quiet. The wife also uses Cascade liquid dishwashing soap which seems to get the dishes really clean. Rinsing before we stick them in probably doesn't hurt, but overall, we are very pleased. The dishwasher has an adjustable rack which we've only used a few times and the start is easy enough for me to even figure out, sorry guys, but yes I do the dishes sometimes. Hope this helps. Good luck. Oh its model # is WDT730PAHVO.

Sheets washed in the deep water cycle turn into a giant twisted mess if you dont stop machine and untangle everything. Hate it. Hate it. Do not buy this machine. We got our Whirlpool french door refrigerator with freezer on the bottom (Model: GX5FHDXVY04) in June 2010. In the past six months, the refrigerator portion loses cooling and temperatures go to the 60s or 70s. We found out that by turning the unit off until it defrosts, it will work again for awhile. Weve had water overflow on our wood floor. When this happened the third time, I called Whirlpool to send a repair person. The person I talked to said it could be over $400 to repair and that it would be more economical to get an extended warranty for about $314, which I did. I did not receive the contract via email (it may have gotten lost in spam). The repair man came and said yes, this was a common problem due to a design flaw and that it needed a $6 part to make the water drain smaller - so that too much air didnt get in.It was May 1st before the repair could return to install it. This was done and we thought - expensive but its taken care of. Today, May 5th, the same problem happened and I have to throw away food again. Its the weekend and there is not a repair person available for two weeks - I got an order number and may request that the repair come sooner. To add insult to injury, I found out that the extended warranty is good only up to $450 and not good for any repair that might be needed in a year. Most of the repair goes to travel to get to Fairfield and labor and we have used most of the warranty already.

Bought a Whirlpool Gold stainless steel refrigerator and the thermostat didnt work after a couple months of use. Lost all the product in the refrigerator and freezer and whirlpool would not compensate us. They did pay for the $29 part because it was under warranty but still think it was completely their fault for putting a defective thermostat in it. Last night the relay on the circuit breaker stopped working and I again lost all my refrigerated food overnight. This time it is not under warranty because the warranty was only good for one year. So, I just paid $314.03 to have it repaired. So angry that I spent so much money on 4 Whirlpool Gold products when I remodeled my kitchen.

NU40T61-403 have had problems since day one. First problem was while heating up would make loud humming noise. Whirlpool sent out plumber. He adjusted plate under tank. That worked for about 2 months. Then pilot started going out. They send same plumber out again, also sent replacement part. Problem was fixed however about 2 months after that started leaking and flooding our garage. Called company again, was told that is no longer under warranty and stated we need a thermal expansion tank. I stated “why would we need this? This unit is only a little over a year old. Im not going to purchase another tank. A water heater should not overheat like this.” Long story short my husband has been burnt severely from the pressure build up as he was out in our garage walking past the tank when it decided to release pressure even though no water was being used at that time. He ended up at the ER with 2nd-3rd degree burns. I called Whirlpool again and was only told we need to install the expansion tank. Im so unhappy with this product I will never buy anything made by whirlpool again.....

This machine, like all other water sensor machines, will not let you wash a few items that are lightweight without filling the whole machine up almost all the way. The reason being is that if the items are light, they will float in the water above the water level and the sensor thinks it needs to put more water in and even with putting something in to weigh it down like a wet towel doesnt always work, nor should you have to do this. You will waste more water in the long run if you only have a few items to wash, ie baby clothes, underwear, rags, etc. I am so disappointed that I had no other choice but to get this machine.

I purchased this Refrigerator Model #wrb322dmb, bottom freezer, 21cu ft. last year on July 3, 2015. In September I noticed rust spots on the top door. I called Home Depot where I purchased and they directed me to Whirlpool. I did purchase an extended warranty with Home Depot. Whirlpool did replace the top door. Thought that took care of it. Today one year and two weeks out of warranty, I again notice rust on both doors. Called Whirlpool. They said too bad out of warranty, not considering I had a previous report of this very same issue. So since I am very unsatisfied with this result and the fact that an expensive product is rusting, I decided to share to try to prevent someone getting stuck. Stainless steel is not supposed to rust which leads me to believe that it is not Stainless steel, but a Stainless Steel finish and not a very good one. So I am stuck with a rusting $1200.00 refrigerator only after one year. I have always purchased Whirlpool, but no more. They lost a 40-year customer. I have always bought American made but no wonder people are not buying American made any longer. TO SUM IT UP WHIRLPOOL STAINLESS STEEL APPLIANCES RUST! DO NOT BUY!

I purchased this Whirlpool Gold Series Refrigerator WRF990SLAMCO in 2012 and it cost me $2400.00 from Lowes. Worst purchase I ever made!!! I will never again purchase or recommend a Whirlpool product. I paid for extended service agreement from Lowes. Before the first year was over, ice was forming on the inside roof of the refrigerator and the whole cooling system/grid needed to be replaced. Then the cooling system went out, followed by the ice maker (PS the ice bucket container was rusted within the first year), then the whole electrical panel on the front of the refrigerator where the ice/water dispenser is.For the last three weeks I have had water leaking out of the top of the refrigerator adjacent to the water filter. My home warranty wont cover. It is a $400.00 repair to replace the circuit that attaches from the water filter. I called Whirlpool 2/14/2017 to complain about the product. She tells me that there havent been any complaints logged about the refrigerator. Seriously??? Read your reviews! The gal on the phone offered a discount to purchase a NEW PRODUCT! Are you serious??? I moved into an apartment in July 2010 after closing in May 2010. My microwave by Whirlpool stopped heating a few days after the one year warranty was over. This appliance was of April 2009 series. My builder doesnt take responsibility and Whirlpool asks for huge service visits and repair costs that leaves me with no choice but to replace, and that too with the same product. This will cost me about $600-700 including installation and warranty, etc. I strongly believe that consumers should be protected against such liabilities. I have to pay for the product, the removal of the faulty one, installation of the new one plus taxes, plus transportation etc., only because Whirlpool sold it and the builder bought it (they are also hand in hand with these suppliers and dont bother after occupancy). God save us from such eventualities and undesirable expenses which hurt. No one should buy such items.

I just bought a new home, and it came with what was described as top of the line Whirlpool appliances. The Cabrio toploading washer worked for two loads then just stopped. After arguing with Customer Service for a while (They insisted this must be an installation error.), I talked with the builders. They gave me a different customer service number. My second call got me a repair appointment, during which the repairman discovered that the pump was in fact dead. Because this is a new model, they didnt have a replacement on hand. So, I will have to wait an additional week and a half before the part is installed. This is a product that retails for around $1000, and it lasted less than one day. My last washer cost $400 and was still running fine when I sold it after 10 years. I can already see the handwriting on the wall. We purchased a Whirlpool AccuBake oven in 2005. I think we used the self-cleaning feature about 3 times. The reason I mention this is it may be a possible cause to the frightening experience we had on August 15, 2012. My wife was cooking on the stove top when suddenly we heard loud electrical explosions coming from the back of the oven. We soon saw long arcing bolts of sparks shooting out the back, and my wife was terrified and didnt know what to do. I told her and my son to stay away from it. I ran to the circuit breaker box and turned off the breaker. We then looked in the back of the oven and it was on fire. I ran around looking for a fire extinguisher but my son managed to put the fire out. We called Whirlpool up and explained what had happened. They immediately sent someone out to look at it.I was very impressed at how fast they got someone out there. Whirlpool sent two technicians to look at the damage. After they were done inspecting, they told my wife that the problem is loose connections on Whirlpools side and not the feed and it had a damaged control board and that this is the fault of Whirlpool. He was very polite to us and apologized for any inconvenience. After a week had passed, no one called us, so my wife called and talked to some woman representative at Whirlpool. She told my wife that the report she got said that the oven had loose connection on the feed side from where we bought the oven and we should deal with them. My wife couldnt believe her ears and said, No, thats not what the technician told us, and the woman continued to talk and my wife said, Wait, slow down. The woman replied, Oh, am I going too fast for you? Well, I guess I have to talk slower then, in a sarcastic tone. My wife then called the technician who wrote the report and explained what the representative had told her, and his reply was, I cant believe she said that. I am not happy about this, that is not what I wrote in my report. Dont worry, I will personally take care of this. Again, the technician was civil and polite. After two days passed, my wife talked to the same woman again but this time she changed her story. She never apologized and said, It looks like in this report that the connections were loose to the control board. Since the oven is 7 years old and accounting for depreciation, Whirlpool is offering to you a total of $59. My wife said, Really, $59? How long is the life expectancy of these ovens? She told her, 10 years. My wife said, 10 years? Well, ours only lasted 7 and you are giving us $59 after we were almost killed and my home could have burnt down to the ground? She said, That is our offer.I called Whirlpool back and asked to talk with the safety supervisor and it was a woman again. Was it the same woman? It could have been the same woman my wife talked to, I was not sure. I asked her, When is it appropriate to issue a recall on a product? Our oven was defective at purchase. She said, You are the only complaint we had on this oven, so no recall is necessary. Yes, I said, but since it has been proven this is the fault of Whirlpool, I would expect at least a working oven from Whirlpool. I also told her the technician told my wife that Whirlpool should be bending over backwards for you, and she said, I apologize for the technicians remarks. I told her that I was dissatisfied and she will be hearing from me in the future. I did some looking on the internet and I found that KitchenAid which is made from Whirlpool had issues with a particular oven which was found that when the self-cleaning feature was used, it would heat up the control board, and since most people dont use the self-cleaning feature that often, it would take a very long time to develop. I thought that loose connections and heat are a bad recipe for disaster, and that quality control negligence and inferior components are to blame. Considering the past history and track record of class action lawsuits and appliance malfunctions such as the control board on their dishwashers, I believe it is all connected and related to my problem. Sorry but $59 isnt going to buy me a decent toaster oven, let alone a real oven. That oven should have lasted over 10 years and considering the possible damage and deaths that could have occurred, you would think that it would be in Whirlpools best interest to address this problem and bend over backwards for anyone who had the misfortune of purchasing this mickey-moused nightmare of a disaster-waiting-to-happen problem. Its not so much the money. What if a small child touches an oven as it conducts 220 volts then shocks into a childs heart to ground? What a ticking time bomb this oven is. As far as I am concerned, I dont want a dangerous oven like this in my home and Whirlpool needs to take some lessons in public relations.

I would not give this any stars! I purchased a Whirlpool gas range (model #WFG371LVB1) just 2 years ago at Lowe’s. The oven heats up to 475 no matter what temperature it is set at. The Whirlpool authorized service agent said it needed a control board which would cost $650 to install. The repair company found one for less--only $300. After reading all of the other complaints about these ranges, weve decided not to repair it and will probably have to replace it soon. We have been Whirlpool customers for years and will not purchase another Whirlpool product. There should be a recall on any of their products that have these continual problems. The oven cannot be safely used for normal baking.

Needed a washer right away and have had Whirlpool before. Simple & easy to use. Not confusing to the average person or teenager for that matter. Reliability from Whirlpool is excellent. I have had many products from them and have enjoyed them all. They have been quite reliable over the last 9 years. They are out of date but they work. Not a lot of bells and whistles but still nice. They are both full size and have enough options for me. I am still happy with the pair and would purchase again if needed in the future. Price was good at the time as I cannot see spending $1K on them. Not always the more expensive is a good idea either.

I purchased a Whirlpool washer and dryer from Best Buy. I purchased one on sale that was a great value. The delivery and set-up went well. However, the model I have had a loud vibrate. The drum in the washing machine would wobble and shake across the floor. I finally had to return it and replaced with same model. I experienced the same issue after 30 days. I didnt take the insurance out and I regret that move.

On March 3, I purchased a dishwasher (Model: KUDE70FXSS1 Serial No.: F10202361) on Whirlpools VIP link, which will more likely be my last Whirlpool purchase based on the slightly damaged product and incredibly poor customer service Ive received. Upon delivery of the dishwasher on March 9, I noticed that the left rear wheel was damaged and slightly bent. I also noticed that the unit was a little off balance. But the delivery person explained to me that everything was okay and that the front legs just needed to be adjusted. I believed him and signed the delivery receipts with the additional note about the left rear wheel being damaged. At the time of delivery, the driver also happened to mention that J.B. Hunt did offer installation services for dishwashers. I then called Whirlpool customer service, which pretty much gave me the cold shoulder, and said that it wasnt in their policy. I had to request the installation service at the time of purchase and Whirlpool would not send someone back out. This made me upset because I initially wanted to have the dishwasher installed but your VIP link didnt show an option for installation. Im not sure how Im supposed to request the installation services when theyre not being offered. But the genius customer service representative thought that I should intuitively call Whirlpool when the link isnt on the website. This is the first demonstration of Whirlpools poor customer service, in my opinion. After a couple of days of driving around to get a hose and a cord to perform the installation, I finally installed the dishwasher on March 12. Once installed, I noticed that the hinge on the left side was rubbing against the tub of the dishwasher. The door hinge was bent and the main tub was slightly damaged. Again, I contacted Whirlpools customer service department who sent out a repairman who confirmed that the dishwasher needed new tub and hinges which were covered under warranty. Unfortunately, he told me that I would not receive a new dishwasher since I installed it myself. He would order a new tub and hinges and transfer all the equipment and wiring from my original dishwasher to the new tub. Essentially, I would have a refurbished dishwasher at a new price, which I do not want.I initially wanted to have the dishwasher installed but your VIP link didnt show an option for installation. If Whirlpools website worked the way it should have and offered an installation service, I wouldnt be in this situation. I would have paid for the installation and the people installing the new dishwasher would have realized that it was damaged prior to them leaving and ordering a new dishwasher. I am a customer and not a dishwasher repairman. No normal person would have been able to catch the damage that is on my machine. Second, I find it hard to believe that Whirlpools policy states to have all the equipment from my original dishwasher installed on a new tub. So, I paid $989 for a new dishwasher thats really a refurbished dishwasher because of the damage. I wish I would have visited this site prior to purchasing. I will never deal with Whirlpool again.

We purchased a Duet from Lowes just a few months ago. Within 2 weeks we had an inoperable machine. After 2 phone calls a service technician came out and looked it over. He had to come back a total of three times to replace the motherboard. That worked for about six weeks and it died again. He came out again and replaced the motherboard again. Fast forward two months and the machine is once again inoperable. When plugged in, it makes an ominous growling sound but nothing else happens. The idiot who designed this thing has no common sense. Its programmed so that it will LOCK on any failure. Not only has every one of these episodes left us with a load of clothes in there getting moldy, you cant even get to the model number or serial numbers; both of which are only visible inside the rim of the machine. So adding insult to injury, your machine is broken, your clothes are in there getting ruined, and YOU CANT EVEN GET TO THE INFORMATION YOU NEED TO SET UP THE SERVICE CALL. If it had only happened once, Id laugh, but this is the third time and its not funny. We bought this machine because it said proudly made in USA. Next time, Ill support the Korean economy and buy a reliable, durable Samsung. The only positive I can offer is that the Whirlpool live chat person was able to set up the service call for me even though I cant get to the relevant data inside the machine. DONT BUY A WHIRLPOOL WASHER. Despite their legacy and US-feel-good associations, the sad truth is that they are poorly engineered and poorly manufactured.

We bought our house in December 2010 and the water heater (fg1f4034t3NOV) just started to give me fits. I had the same pilot light problems everyone else encountered. The person at the 877-251-1679 number gave me a good tip and that may have fixed the problem in the short-term. They told me theres a screen for venting on the bottom of the unit and to use a bottle brush after turning off the unit to clean the screen. I did this yesterday and the pilot light has stayed lit. I called the toll-free number and was told the water heater was out of warranty, but they could send me the part to fix the heater at half-price. I ordered it and they waived ground shipping. I hope to have the situation fixed soon. I’m very pleased with the level of service.
