I have owned my Maytag washer for approximately five years. Ive always used the recommended detergent and religiously used the tabs to clean the machine when it was required. I have never abused the machine by overloading it, using too much detergent, etc. It is now coming up with an LF code. There is no one in this area who does repairs and if I do find someone Im sure theyll want some exorbitant amount to come all the way out to the boonies to give an estimate and the repairs Im sure will be hefty. I take very good care of all my appliances and expected this machine to last much longer.

This product is not worth the money or irritation. It does not wash your clothes well and now mine wont spin. I have to completely unplug the machine and start it up to drain and spin. It takes 1 1/2 to wash one load of clothes. Its supposed to be energy efficient. Im pretty sure its not! I waste more time and electric doing a load of clothes than it takes to dry a load of clothes. Im dumping this thing for a real washer, one that works. I do not recommend this washing machine. I purchased the Bravo at Lowes.

I purchased this oven about 6 months ago. This is my second Maytag oven which I had for 18 years. I am extremely disappointed in the quality of this oven. I did my homework and shopped around and chose another Maytag. First, the ignitor clicks and clicks but doesnt ignite. After 4-5 times I have to shut the oven off and restart it. But worse than that is the enamel on top. The quality is HORRIBLE. You cannot use anything but a soapy sponge to clean the top. With my last oven I was able to use anything (softscrub, ajax, the scrubber side of a sponge) and the top was shiny clean. My stove top is covered with scratches and is not even thoroughly clean. There are grease spots around the burners that if I scrub any harder Ill take the enamel off completely. Very, very poor quality. Will never buy another Maytag.

Purchased a Maytag smooth-top range about a year and a half ago. Ive only cooked frozen pizzas in it. Have only had it on six or seven times. Havent used the top burners at all. Its an electric range, and I just had it hooked up a couple of months ago, as I was trying to find a place for it in the tiny kitchen. The folks who lived here before me, had a huge refrigerator and gas stove right next to each other, and I didnt want to go that route. Anyway, I went to put yet another frozen pizza in the oven, and the light doesnt work! So, after only six or seven uses, the oven light is busted! My mom had an old Westinghouse Terrace Top range, and it lasted well over 20 years with no problems. The only reason she sold it was because she remodeled her kitchen. It still worked great after all those years. Its after-hours now, but when I call Maytag tomorrow, Im expecting to get the run-around, if the other reviews are accurate, and Im SURE they are. Wont ever buy another Maytag product again.

I purchased a Maytag side-by-side refrigerator in May 2010 to replace a 20-month-old Whirlpool fridge with a dead compressor. The now 14-month-old Maytag has a dead compressor. I have been told by the repairmen that I have come to know that the compressors used in these units are of poor quality and do not last. That must work out well for the appliance industry if consumers must replace a $1,000 + unit every year or two.To Maytags credit, I spoke to customer service and they agreed to cover the parts and labor for the repair even though it is two months past warranty. Maybe I can get another year out of this reliable appliance. I am told that all of the major brand appliances use the same compressor.

I bought the Maytag Bravos XL HE washing machine because I needed a machine that could handle large loads to save me time doing multiple loads for everyday items like jeans to towels, blankets as well as delicates. This machine is a COMPLETE disappointment. It does NOT get anything clean unless I wash it 4 times with bleach and pre-stain 4 times. You know what bleach does to your clothes! The water level is so low I can only wash 4 things at a time and I still have to wash additional times. It doesnt get the smell or food stains out. Not a good choice for an active family or person. Ive had clothes come out with suds still on them after washing three times. I use less than the recommended amount of HE detergent. There was a $250 agitator washer by GE at Lowes but it was smaller - how I wish I bought it. These impeller HE machines dont work. My advice steer clear of this Maytag product unless you like to waste your time re-doing loads of laundry.

25 months ago, I bought a brand new Maytag stainless steel microwave. We had upgraded all of our appliances except the microwave when we moved in our home. Our first purchase was the Maytag refrigerator. Should have learned my lesson from that because after less than a year, the freezer on the bottom went out twice! We bought this new microwave to replace an old one that didnt match the other appliances and was worn out. Two months ago, the code SE started appearing and then would go away after a few minutes. Now it doesnt go away and you cant use the microwave. I finally called a repair person since its out of warranty and was told that it would cost over $300 to fix it. Really! Im so angry because now I have to take money. I dont have to replace a microwave that should have another few years of use. Nothing at all reliable about a Maytag. I doubt Ill buy anything else they make.

I have had this refrigerator for less than 3 years. It recently started leaking water on the floor and all over the bottom of the freezer. Repairman said it is a flaw with the defrost drain design. He thinks Maytag MIGHT have changed it since I purchased mine, but I dont know. Originally they used this small rubber valve;repairman said they get clogged very easily (even though I vacuum around it regularly and dont have any pets). He replaced that part with something sturdy that looks like a p trap. I looked online and there are loads of complaints about this exact issue with the defrost drain clogging. It cost $250 to have it repaired. I called Maytag to ask to be reimbursed and of course they will not do anything since it is out of warranty. Its a shame Maytag wont stand behind their products. Since there are so many of us with this issue, cant something be done?

I purchased my Bravos washer and dryer in Sept. 2010. What a mistake! The dryer is okay but the washer is a nightmare! The repairman and I are on a first name basis. The last time he was here, he showed me how to recalibrate my washing machine. It stops working in the wash cycle, fills with water and then sits there. I have to manually drain it and start over. Then it gets confused and fills with water when it is supposed to be spinning and draining (consequently draining my well). I shouldnt have to recalibrate anything in life, much less, a brand new washing machine.

Having had a household for over 40 years we have had a few washers come and go. I hate to say it but this line of washers should go. Worst pile of junk parts I have seen. Bought it from Costco a few years ago based on past histories of Maytags. Was I ever so wrong. It has never worked well. I chalked it up to being Water Efficient but after reading over 8 pages of scornful reviews, I was mistaken. Water level is always too low to do anything so clothes are needing rewashed. Have reverted to using the Bulky setting to do general washing as that fills the tub about 1/4 of the way. Then the spin cycles stops due to unbalanced load and loud banging of the wash drum, EVERY LOAD!!! And now for the past month Code DL pops up saying it is taking too long to drain. I have checked all hoses for blockages, none seen. And with the glass top, you can SEE the washer NOT WORKING right. We have a door on the laundry room and even with it closed the volume is over 70 dB and can overpower most conversations in our family room 20 feet away. I have been told that Costco may take it back but why punish Costco members for a design failure of Maytag??? Has anyone thought about a Class Action Lawsuit? The Bravos Quiet Series 400 dryer match to this washer has so far been flawless. I may have to dig the 20 year old Whirlpool washer out of the storage shed to replace this Maytag. Sad. I want to state my true feelings but I will not use profanity here.

Model# MVWC200BW1 bought in 2015 tangles/stretches clothing. This machine is/has been a true disappointment. The agitator wings are not attached at bottom allowing clothing to get caught and as the agitator turns, so does the clothing causing stretching and severe tangling. Poor design compared to the agitator that would rise and fall - those got clothing clean and did not ruin them. I cannot trust this machine to moderately cost clothing for fear of their demise. The lock-down mode is not convenient for those last minute added items. Will not be buying Maytag/Whirlpool ever again when another machine is purchased. This is a piece of rubbish!

I called Maytags customer service about an over the range microwave that was bought 2 years ago and barely used. The mechanism in the microwave on the latch for the door, clicked into the body of the unit and therefore the door does not register closed which doesnt allow it to come on. After explaining this issue to the customer service rep, she insisted that the only thing that Maytag would stand behind was the part if needed. A service call would be between $100 - $150. The microwave isnt even that old and why would Maytag not stand behind a like new unit? I bought 3 Maytag products and I am now regretting it. I had asked to speak to a supervisor and she just proceeded to repeat the same thing the sales rep did. They will only cover the cheap part if needed. What happened to Maytag being top of the line? Apparently they dont care about standing behind their products and would rather you buy an expensive extended warranty to cover their cheaply made appliance. I think they should be under review as a company. I would somewhat understand paying if my appliance was 5 to 10 years old. But its basically new. How is there no protection for customers when it comes to purchasing lemons from an appliance dealer? I will NEVER buy Maytag again and plan on selling my 2 other newly purchased appliances before they have issues. Maytags reviews on social media are terrible. All they offer are the words Im sorry and I understand your frustration. I assume thats just what they have written down in front of them to tell everyone who calls with issues. How do you not stand behind your products! I wish I could select no stars vs the 1.

One year ago I bought a Maytag Micro-wave and a Maytag dishwasher - big mistake. I should have done some homework. I had problems with the dishwasher since the day it was installed. I should have suspected something was wrong when it was delivered. I opened my front door and there stood a deliveryman holding my dishwasher in his arms. He said, Where do you want it? I couldnt believe he could be carrying it by himself, especially since it took three of us to move out the old Thermador which by the way was still working just fine after almost 30 years. But my wife insisted on a new washer for her new kitchen. The Thermador was actually made of steel. The new Maytag was made of plastic even the motor. It had some steel and copper parts but mostly plastic. I dont think it weighed forty pounds. The problems began the first day with leaks through the door and under it. I suppose eight or nine service calls happened in the next 3 months. The factory service men were different each time and each had their own guess as to what caused the leaks. Over time they replaced all the parts that could be leaking some of them twice, because subsequent servicemen discovered that a previous service man had installed the wrong parts. We often had to wait several weeks because replacement parts were not on hand, and would be ordered and shipped directly to us. Then we would have to schedule another service call, only to find out the wrong parts came - more delays. One service man told us we were using the wrong detergent, even though it was the detergent and spot-free rinse that came with it. Another service man removed the door cover so he could watch to see where it was leaking when it operated. He said the soap was foaming too much and flooding over, so we had to try another brand of soap, even though by now we had accumulated three other brands that were just barely used. The service men never did fix the problem. It took much experimentation from my wife to stop the leaks, which meant we could only use a fraction of the recommended amount soap. By now we were using so little soap that the dishes always came out dirty. So our choice was mop up a wet floor or have dirty dishes every time. Most of the time now we wash the dishes in the sink. One service man said in Maytags effort to make the dishwashers more efficient, and less expensive to build that the motor and pump were way under powered, and everything was made from petro-chemical by-products (cheap plastic) and that we should invest in the extended warranty. Its cheaper than paying service calls when the warranty runs out soon. What we should have done was exchanged it for another brand. My wife said had she only known, we would have never replaced the old Thermador which will be my next dishwasher. As for the micro-wave there are many things I dislike about it especially the rectangle glass tray which is extremely awkward to remove and replace each time you have to clean out crumbs and spills which happen often. The timer on/off bell is way too quiet with no volume control. The message and operation display is difficult to understand. And to top it off the cheap plastic handle broke one week after the warranty ran out which I found out that its less expensive to buy a whole new door than pay for parts and a service call to repair handle. Maytags track record made me not want to deal with service dept. again. I will probably be money ahead to trash the two appliances, start over and do some homework and maybe buy a European made appliance. I know German technology is not all about profit making, but quality, reliability, durability. I hate to sound un-American but greed in American corporations will be their downfall.

I bought a Maytag 4452BDW stove, the more button is not working. I did my research and was not happy to see this is a common and reoccurring issue with Maytag Stoves. The expensive of the part that too often fails again along with the cost of the service man to repair it places the Maytag as low quality at a high price. I owned a Maytag Neptune washer and dryer for 13 years and never had a problem. The only one thing I would say about them is that since the washer had no agitator it would often tangle the clothes, but they were clean and not damaged so I was ok with that. We moved to another house in July 2016, and the moment we plugged in our dryer there was a spark and smoke under it. Our dryer was fried and it was because the previous owner put in the 220 outlet and wired it wrong. So our dryer was dead and cannot be fixed.Since the washer had the small problem with tangling clothes together, I convinced my husband to get a whole new set, not just a dryer. We went to Lowes and picked out a new Maytag Bravos XL, thinking that the brand was reliable and they were so big I didnt have to worry about doing bedding in it. Like ALL of the other reviews of this set, DO NOT BUY THEM! The washer does not use enough water to wet the entire load and you will be left with soap residue on your clothes and they will not smell fresh and clean at all. In fact, my son sometimes wets the bed or has dirty underwear and that is what my entire load of laundry will smell like when I wash them. Imagine taking a load of dressy work clothes out of your dryer and they smell like dirty underwear!I have tried other settings, different types of soap (liquid versus pod, etc) and doing smaller loads. None of this fixes the issue. It is obvious that Maytag and Lowes will do nothing about this issue, according to other reviewers, so Im not even going to bother to have them come out here to do a service call and charge me for it. So Im stuck with a $1,500 garbage laundry set! (Actually the dryer is fine, it just takes longer to dry than Im used to). Im all for a class action suit to get our money back and force them to stop producing such crappy products! Also, if you are considering this set, keep in mind that they have just over a 1-star average rating on this site, and that is because every reviewer is forced to add a rating of at least 1 star. If not, I think wed all pick the zero.

My husband and I purchased a new Maytag dishwasher in March of 2012 at a cost of around $650. There is only the two of us at home and I only run the dishwasher 2-3 times per week. On June 16th, I went to run the dishwasher and it would not turn on after hitting the start button. The cycle buttons lit up but the dishwasher would not start. I called the service number in the user instruction manual and talked to a service representative. I was told that the electronic panel that runs the dishwasher is not covered under the 2nd-10th year limited warranty. It would cost around $291 to fix including parts and labor. When I asked for a qualified Maytag repair service company in my area, she only had one company to give me. This company does not have a very good local reputation so I preferred not to use it. My question is - How can a part that runs the dishwasher not be covered under the warranty? If the start button on the control panel is defective then the machine will not work. I also have a model MDB7749AWW2. After reading some of the 356 complaints about this very dishwasher, I think the Maytag Company must be well aware that there is a problem with this machines control panel and they are choosing to disregard the customer. My old dishwasher was a Kenmore and it ran for 27 years and I only had to replace the motor once. I will not be buying anything Maytag in the future.

After researching the top-rated washing machine in consumer reports, we decided to spend the extra cash ($930) and buy the top-rated machine. Spending almost double on a high end machine, you would expect this machine to last longer than three years. The motherboard needs to be replaced because it gets stuck on a UL code near the end of the cycle. Now, we have had two people come try to fix it, and they said to trash it and buy a new one. Only three years! If I had paid $300, I wouldnt be so upset, but that was a total waste of money for it to last less than any machine Ive ever had. How is a consumer supposed to know what a good washing machine is if they spend extra cash for the top-rated machine and that one is still bad? The company should replace something like a motherboard that goes faulty when it had nothing to do with use. So unfair and frustrating.

OK, Im at wits end. I bought a very expensive Maytag Gemini range four years ago. Since then, I have replaced 10 burner valves. There are only five of them. They have each been replaced twice, and tonight yet another has broken. This time it is broken in the ON position, which means I cant have the range on without that burner on. It means unplugging it when not in use and lighting the burner with a match when I re-plug the stove, until I get it fixed. I had just replaced valve number 10 on Tuesday, and had a fully working range for only 5 days. These valves are under warranty but the labor is not, and it is always close to $200 to have someone come out to replace them. I cant afford a new stove and I cant afford to keep having these defective valves replace.

If you have a second floor laundry room, DO NOT, and I repeat, DO NOT acquire this washing machine!!! The Bravo MCT model washer is TOO loud (during spinning cycle), and for some reason, the clothes come out all tangled up. Some cycles are a waste of a cycle, and most cycles take a bit longer than my former washer. I miss the cycle choices I used to have on my former GE Profile washer (GE does not make that model anymore hence my changing brands). For the most part, clothes come out clean; thats why I give it a two-star rating instead of one. The dryer: Must dry every load in low heat so it doesnt come out extra crispy and wrinkled up. Although I generally have to run a second drying cycle, low heat does work great and the clothes come out ready to be folded/put away.

Bravos washer is 4 years old. Started making an extreme amount of noise during the spin cycle. Had a repairman look at and showed me the bearings and area under the tub. $400 plus in damage due to bad bearings, rust to bottom of tub and surrounding area. Four years for a high-end washer is pretty bad. Needless to say, I will buy a new unit and would NEVER recommend a Maytag Bravos appliance.

I purchased a Maytag dryer several years ago, not a fancy one but just a plain simple dryer (model number MDE2706AYW). Thank goodness from the other complaints I have read I didn’t buy one that is computer controlled. The heating element has burned out twice, main thermostat and limit thermostat has burned out, and if you look close, it seems the wires are trying to melt or at least the insulation. Well, the insulation is melting. And the venting system is cleaned regularly so they can’t blame that. The last dryer I had lasted well over ten years with zero problems. I should have just fixed it. I’m sure I wouldn’t have spent as much money on repairs as I have with this one. You remember that lazy Maytag repairman that was on TV for so many years, you know why you don’t see him any longer? He is at my house repairing my ** dryer! You never, never hear me say this but the next dryer I buy will be made overseas. My last appliance purchase with any of these name brands on them: Maytag, Jenn-Air, Amana, Admiral, Crosley, Magic Chef, Performa by Maytag, and Norge.

We have had 2 sets of Maytag washer & dryers. Our first set was a top load. When we bought the Neptune front load machines we gave the top load to our daughter and it still runs great after 14 years! Our front load W&D are 7 years old. We have a dog breeding business and when we have puppies the W&D pretty much run nonstop for 16 hours a day or longer. The blankets and towels come out like new every time!! The only complaint I have is the top of the front load machines seem to be plastic and scratched really easy. But the enamel on the top load still looks new! We plan on shopping for a new set this weekend passing these on to our daughter. We will buy ONLY Maytag for the rest of our lives!!

Its the worst experience I have ever had with any product. I grew up watching the Maytag man as a child and thinking that must be a top of the line product. Boy was I wrong. I went out six years ago when I purchased my new home and purchased for 1,550.00 a brand new refrigerator with side by side, and ice maker on the bottom, silver in color. It looked great, the quality was and is terrible. The freezer stopped freezing a couple of days after the first year was up. The Service department at Maytag is terrible, I called them for assistance and they were anything but helpful rude is a better word. Its been a nightmare! How could they ruin that good, or even great name of that product. Never will I buy a Maytag appliance again. I tell all of my friends as well. Oh yes so far as the leaking is concerned, my floor is damaged as well.

Our prior fridge died on a hot long weekend in July 2020. Desperate for a fridge, I ordered any fridge that could be delivered the same day. Received a Maytag which totally died 3 months later! Now I am waiting for a part (which apparently the Manufacturer has 100 in their inventory but havent distributed them to the source that ordered them). This is just the worst service I have ever experienced with an appliance. As so many people have said, I should have waited and ordered a European appliance. I bought the Maytag Bravos because I was told it was top of the line and expected that Maytags reputation for quality would provide me with many years of dependable service without problem. Boy, was I taken for a ride! Unless you have a lot of money to spend, DO NOT buy a Maytag Bravos washing machine. After only 3.5 years of normal use (3-4 standard loads per week) and doing everything as suggested by the owners manual, my machine has developed a bad drum bearing. The cost to repair this bearing is $400 for parts and $200 for labor. In other words, I am forced to buy a new machine after ONLY 3.5 years of use. When I called Maytag customer service department to question them about my problem, their response was there are no recalls on your machine, so we cannot do anything for you. When I further questioned them about the lack of quality/dependability my machine provided, they again said, Sorry, the machine is out of the warranty period. Thank you for buying Maytag. If you buy one of these washing machines, you better have the extra money to buy an extended warranty.

Purchased Maytag dishwasher model # MDB4709PAB3 8/2012 @ Lowes in NY with extended warranty. After a while, noticed wood floor warping in front of appliance. Called repair and after several tries, they couldnt repair leak under door. After many complaints to Lowes and Maytag, was finally issued a new dishwasher 8/2013 same model #. Person that hooked it up couldnt wait around to see if all was okay. Ran dishwasher after he left and as usual for this model it leaks worse than before. Called Maytag complaint dept and they said they would issue me another dishwasher of my choice and same price through Lowes. But they never spoke to Lowes and Maytag will not call me back. I would think there must be a leak problem with this model. Do not buy. It is not worth the trouble!

I have a Maytag washing machine for close to 20 years, so when it was time to replace it, I bought another Maytag: the Bravos. I read reviews, and most negative ones complained that it used too little water, twisted clothes, and was noisy. But I wanted an HE and can tolerate noise just fine. What I cannot tolerate is the fact that -- less than 2 years after purchase -- the control panel is malfunctioning, and it will cost $500 to repair. Id rather buy a new washing machine than throw good money after bad on this one. Bye-bye, Maytag.

We bought a new dishwasher 2 years ago. Top of the line Maytag Model #MDB8959SBW3 $749 plus tax. We bought this one because they told us what a great 10 year warranty it had. Found out that is a lie. The only thing the 10 year warranty covers is the stainless steel tub, the racks and chopper blade. The stop button on the control panel (circuit board) quit working and the dishwasher wouldnt start. When I called Maytag they said So sorry. It broke so soon, but that is not covered. We were told by a repair shop that Maytag has had nothing but problems with their control panel and the control panel part alone is $150 plus tax plus installation. Our old Maytag lasted 13 years and was still running great, but needed to be replaced because the racks were rusting out. I wish I would have kept the old one. I will never buy Maytag again since it is now made by Whirlpool. If Maytag is having so many problems with their control panel, they should be recalling them.

I bought this washer (Maytag HE) almost a year ago, and if I could redo my choice, I would not choose this machine. There is no separate spin cycle. Often items are left with quite a bit of water in at the end of the wash cycle (often literally dripping as you transfer to the dryer), and you cant just rearrange them in the washer and then spin again. The only option on the washer is to both rinse and spin, which almost never helps get out more water. So you then have a heavy load in the dryer, much longer dryer time, and higher utility bills to get some loads dry, especially bath towels, sheets, jeans, etc. The washer is large capacity, but if you fill it more than 1/2 to 2/3 full (depending on the heaviness of your items) the spin cycle definitely will not get nearly enough water out of the clothes. The lid on the washer is SLOPED!The most ridiculous design I have ever seen for a washer, everything you set on top, even for a moment - laundry detergent, folded clothes, wet clothes - ends up on the floor. And the lack of agitator means at the end of the cycle, some loads that contain a sheet or any large flat item (tablecloth, etc.) the rest of the items are captured below the larger flat item that is over them like a mushroom cap. You cant tell how long the items have been like that in the washer, but its hard to imagine they are getting properly cleaned and rinsed. You absolutely cannot use powder stain removers, especially OxiClean, unless you are using the oxi cycle (much longer than regular cycle) because with any other cycle you will have white cloudy patches on all your clothes and items where the powder dissolved in the water but did not rinse out. You have to manually scrub them out, as putting these items through another wash cycle does not remove all the spots.

I had the same problem with my refrigerator that others had that the water would freeze in the bottom of the freezer then leak on the floor. Now I have to have my floor replaced because leaking. I also have to have some walls replaced because of mold. When I called Maytag they said that they would send the part but we would have to install & that they knew this part was a problem. Luckily I had the extra year warranty. How can a company get away with this? If they know that a part is failing why didnt they notify anybody? Now the damage is done & hopefully my Homeowners insurance is going to pay for the damage. I paid $1,100 for it, 1 1/2 years. Thank goodness I bought the extended warranty. My advice is dont buy any Maytag products ever!!

I had a 1 1/2 yr old front load washer. I was worried the filter might have a lot of dog hair in it so I called to just have it looked out. I couldnt remember if I had an extended warranty. Thought it would be listed with Maytag. They said no. I said OK. They recommended A+ to come out and said it would be $60.00. That was OK because I wanted to prevent any problems with the washer in the future. I thought them checking it would be a preventative measure. The tech came out opened it up said there wasnt much hair or any other problems. Put it back together, plugged it in. There was a Big popping noise and smoke! Washer no longer worked. The man said doesnt make sense but he would fix it and not charge me for parts etc. I called Maytag. They refused to do anything since it was out of warranty even though they recommended this company and there was absolutely nothing wrong with it in the beginning. After about 2 months he still couldnt fix it. About this time I found papers for a warranty with the Home Depot. The repairman said he works with Home Depot as well. Told me to contact them but I needed to pay $120.00 to him and file a claim and then he would fix it. Apparently he does not do service work for Home Depot. They sent out other repairmen. They tried to fix it but apparently it was deemed unserviceable he blew the mother board. Home Depot said they would replace or reimburse me the amount I paid for washer. Then a machine called said they were sending me a check. We will probably never buy another Maytag! Even though I want to buy American if they wont help or stand behind their products. I now have an LG we bought from Pacific Sales with a cheaper warranty and much better customer service.

I have never given anything a negative review before, but this, by far, the absolute worst appliance I’ve ever had in my entire life. I bought it because I had an old leaky washer, but I’d take it back in a heartbeat because it could ACTUALLY wash my clothes. We spent a lot of money on this washer because we wanted something really nice that would actually work, but this washer is no better than me throwing my clothes in the sink and turning the water on. I’ve tried every kind of detergent and pretreatment that I could possibly try, and nothing helped because the actual machine don’t do nothing. Shirts come out still coated in mud, and half the load is dry??? Please, save your money, get your washer somewhere else. And I hate to even give this thing 1 star because it ain’t even worth that.

My original GE dishwasher that came with our house finally crapped out after about 8 years of use in 2007. Bought a Maytag from Home Depot for around $400. Dont remember the model number. It worked okay but then in the middle of 2010 we got a letter in the mail saying our machine was being recalled because the heating element might catch fire (!!!). The recall gave us the option of getting it fixed or getting a $150 rebate. We chose the rebate option so we trashed this dishwasher and went back to Home Depot to buy another one.We found a very nice Maytag with the stainless steel tub and the racks with the lifetime warranty against corrosion (which was good because our previous Maytag had started to leave rust on our dishes because the plastic on the tips of the rack tines was starting to come off), model #MDBA979AWB1, serial #FY2501885. The one we found was a no-box display model but it had all the accessories with it and still had the factory warranty. We got it for just over $300 and with our rebate applied we were out the door for under $200 including tax. I installed it myself and didnt have any issues for quite some time. My wife and I were both very happy with how clean the dishes got! Now, last night the dishwasher wouldnt start. I checked it out this morning, made sure it had power and was able to get some lights on the control panel to light up but still couldnt get it to start. Looks like Ive been victimized by the control board as most of these complaints have said. I guess I should consider us lucky since ours seems to have lasted longer than the average 18 months to 2 years. Will be contacting Maytag and Home Depot to see what they can do but after reading all these negative reviews Im not hopeful.

I had to pay a $100 fee for them to come out and look at it. I was told that the transition went bad. The parts were under warranty however I would have to pay for labor, which would be $325. Called Maytag and was told because I did not purchase an extended warranty there was nothing they could do about the labor. I can buy a new washer for $500 why would I spend $325 to fix? We bought the Maytag Bravos Washer and Dryer set in 2013 after extensive reviews as well as the brand recognition to replace my at least 20 year old Kenmore washer/dryer. At first we were very pleased. The ability to do bulky loads was great and the high spin cycle left the clothes almost dry. In 2018 (keep in mind, just 5 years!) we started to hear a grinding sound in the washer when on rinse cycle and the dryer would randomly turn itself on! Strange but true. I called Maytag Canada and they sent someone right away. They had to replace the motherboard on both the washer and dryer as well as the drum and gears on the washer. Fortunately this was covered under warranty.Fast forward 1.5 years. Same issues with washer...technician came and could not identify the problem, although I did tell him it was the same as 1.5 years ago. I ended up recording the sound and asked them to resend technician to the house. After further diagnostics, yup...same problem. Two days went by and I received a call back advising me that the cost to repair would be over 700.00, not covered by warranty! I escalated to management, to no avail although they did offer me 15% off my next Maytag purchase! Needless to say I have ordered a brand new GE from Costco, arriving tomorrow for basically the same price to repair the Maytag. I will NEVER purchase another Maytag product and will advise anyone who cares to listen to me to do the same. Huge disappointment in the Maytag product, brand name and customer service. 10 year warranty? Not likely...stay away.

Interestingly, we found that if we wait long enough until the control panel is in the mood, the dishwasher works again and the control panel responds to button pushes, until the problem returns.I dont recall what model I purchased but it seems to be irrelevant. From reading the other customer complaints, its quite obvious that all Maytag dishwashers inherently have problems with their control panels and Maytag intends on doing nothing about it. Maytag is the worst dryer ever purchased. We bought it in 2019 and the heating element broke. When I contacted Maytag directly, they said, nothing they could do. Really?? A major part was defected and there was nothing they could do! Its very sad when a major company that you purchased from shuts you down with a defected piece in their dryer and they chose not to help out the consumer. Shameful! I will NEVER purchase another product from them again...

I bought my Bravos XL 3 years ago after having older model Maytags since the 1980s. My mother also runs a laundromat and SWEARS by Maytag. To say Im disappointed in this purchase is an understatement!!! They have never washed the same as the older models. They twist the clothes horribly! Now Im having issues with all of my dark clothes getting grease spots on them with no apparent cause. I use HE detergent and softener (recommended amounts only) and clean the washer religiously, including the detergent, bleach and softener cups. I DETEST these machines. Also, the dryer never dries unless I run it for 2 cycles, regardless of what setting it is on. Waste of money and definitely not energy efficient when it comes to my water and electric bill, nor time efficient for me since clothes either come out still dirty or with new stains. After this purchase, I would NEVER buy Maytag again!!!!!!

Purchased a Maytag Electric range Model MER8800FZ2 in 2019. The surface Scratched the first week of purchase and the stains will not come off. When I called customer service they claim they are not responsible for cosmetics. In my opinion, This model was put together with the cheapest material they could find. Maytag is not what it used to be. The Elements take a long time to heat up. Inside the oven, the Glazed Paint is cheap product also where once it stains with food it never comes off.

I purchased the Maytag oven in January and have had the service technician out 5 times to try to repair the oven because it doesnt heat properly. Theyve told me that because I live in a condominium that it is normal for the oven to take an hour to preheat, then another hour for the second oven to preheat. When I am baking the oven does not hold the temperature and anything I bake takes much longer than it should. They refuse to get me a new oven.

Bought the xl about 14 months ago. NO LIE! Exactly 2 days after the 1-year warranty was up, the xl went down. Drive shaft and bearings. Did Maytag honor the warranty since it was only 48 hours past the expiration? Not just a no but a why are you bothering attitude. My brother and I are above average machine builders. Well fix it ourselves because we could buy a new one to have it repaired. After many hours scouring the web we found the parts. Maytag didnt make a repair kit available to the public. 7 hours plus over $200 to tear it down and to clean the muck trapped at the drain. Then sand-smooth the burnt on metal where the bearings sit. All for a washing machine that sucks at washing clothes in the first place. Never ever again will I buy a Maytag.

I have always been an advocate for Maytag Appliances. Never bought anything beside Maytag. Our old Maytag refrigerator broke. Would cost too much to fix. So, we decided to buy new. We had the old white, which I was perfectly fine in buying again, however, white was super expensive. So, the salesperson persuaded us to purchase stainless steel. We got a pkg for close to $4000 all in June of 2016. Needless to say, these items have been called for repair within the 1 year warranty over half a dozen times, and have had to replace pieces that have just broken. My worst experience is the stove. I really do not like it at all. I feel the product is misleading. We wanted a self cleaning oven. It is the newest brand out there for what I consider a joke. It is the AquaLift Technology that does not clean anything. My old Maytag self cleaning oven cleaned far better than this. The same spots are in the oven. It just is worthless. I have addressed my frustration with Maytag where I was told that the oven is for the light user. Well, then you need to educate the people who sell your stuff, because I have a family I cook a lot. If this product was made for an apartment single person who does not cook then we should have been informed. Your product states Self Cleaning. Its not self cleaning!!! My frustration went up to the main office of Maytag where their resolution was to give me a discount on a new stove. What do I do with the one I have, and I was told I could sell it!!!! Really Maytag wow from a consumer that has always been a valued customer this is the level of service I get. I ended up purchasing an extended warranty on all Maytag products, because of my fear of something just breaking again. My advice to all is either buy a no named brand or buy something cheaper. Please folks if you have a family do not purchase these products. Its for people that just need a pretty display of appliances!!!

Dual oven - one is a convection oven. Never used the bottom drawer so that was wasted on previous range. I purchased a white appliance to match my others. The white stove top is a pain. Too bad it wasnt black. I checked this model online and found a good price in the city. I contacted the local Home Depot and they did a price match less 10% - all a bonus. The ovens work great although I have not tried the self clean. I have read that similar models have problems related to the self clean feature - high heat and circuit boards. My plan is to have a fan directed at the top of the stove when I use it and the range hood fan going. The convection oven is great - hard to mess up a recipe with that. The dual ovens are truly a great feature - strongly recommend. The keep warm is great also - nice to have two things cooking at the same time. That being said - the bottom oven is low, but that is worth the extra cooking space.

We bought the fridge (MFF2258VEW2) about 5 years ago. We have had nothing but problems. First it was the water leaking all over the floor. The repair man said the drain tube in the back was too small. That was replaced. Then the door gaskets were replaced. The doors still do not stay closed. Again water leaking all over the floor. The bottom of freezer had ice all over it. I had to take the back of the fridge and freezer. For 2 days I had a fan blowing on to defrost it. The door shelves are cracked and falling off. I had to pay for the hooks that hold up the bottom shelf 5 times and again they are broken. The long narrow slide out shelf is broken. Food in the back of the fridge are freezing. I have contacted Maytag a lot and they will not fix the problems. At the same time I bought the fridge I bought a Maytag top load HE washer and a drier. I had to throw out the washing machine last year. It would have cost me too much money to fix it. I will never EVER buy Maytag again.

Absolutely the worst experience ever. The repair people that were sent to address the problem were great but the Maytag people did not care. I bought a new electric convection oven, the convection never worked. The repair people came out several times and checked and adjusted to try to fix the issues but the oven is totally inconsistent. Even the repair people thought I should have gotten a better response from Maytag! Maytag just said that I had a repair but not replace warranty - of course the warranty period is over now. This machine is awful and a waste of money. Don’t trust the reviews with “workarounds.” That’s crazy! Doing laundry is difficult enough in my house so I need to add extra work? And they don’t work anyway. Water is barely 1-2 inches deep. But the real issue is the clothes don’t come out clean. Of course, they smell clean because all the soap hasn’t rinsed out but they are not. I spilled coffee on a white tee. Dabbed it up with a wet napkin. Threw it in the laundry. Did whites and added extra bleach and extra water because I know how much this machine sucks. Not only are my clothes yellow but the coffee stain is still there. I can’t imagine how it will wash tough stains like blood and wine and grease. I cannot even believe they are allowed to rip people off with this product.

I bought this wash (XL HD) 1 1/2 years ago. From the time the people installed it it never worked correctly. I have never wanted to beat up an appliance before, but this washer makes me so mad that I am ready to just throw it out and buy a new one even though I paid 600.00 for it and it was more than I would ever pay for a washer. I bought this so I could wash my comforters mainly. Well I cannot wash comforters unless I wash them 5 times or at least try to wash them 5 times or more. They get unbalanced and then the machine shuts off. After doing everything from changing the hoses like somebody else suggested, it still didnt work. Along my troubles with trying to rinse and drain I did find something new that I didnt know I could do for all these months is when you put your machine on rinse, spin, dry and the extra rinse light pops on, click it and turn it off, then it reduces the spin time to 15 minutes instead of 26. Also now I have to just let my hose drain on the floor of my outside wash room because if I hook it up through the wall to drain outside it just stops with the LF code. So I have 2 inches of water on my washroom floor and it really sucks. This is the only way I can get the machine to work without turning itself off. Very disappointed with this machine that appears to be so large (looks can be deceiving). It cannot wash hardly anything and this machine should be taken off the market. It is garbage. I really wish this did work because I have spent too much time trying to rewash, respin, get all the water out of the clothes so I could dry them. This should be banned and not sold by any store.

I purchased a Neptune set in the late 90s when they first came on the market. I remember my delight - after the first use my clothes looked like new. Most impressive was I never needed to iron anything. Incredible. After 20 years of maintenance free operation, I finally decided they were getting too loud and was afraid theyd break down and spill water. Of course, I bought the latest version of Neptune again. What a disappointment. These machines are terrible. My clothes come out a wadded up, wrinkled mess. I have tried every recommendation in the book - the wrinkle free, the steam fresh, you name it. I have never ironed more iron free clothes before. Its added hours a week to my chores and we all look a frumpled mess. I really regret my choice. Strange that I cant wait for these new machines to break down so I can justify a do-over.

Bravos XL Washer and Dryer (Maytag) is the worst appliance set ever. Not enough water in the bin, residue despite using the correct detergent, and clothes which do not even get fully wet during the wash cycle. I am so sorry I purchased this pair - I do like the heavy duty spin, and the dryer does dry (but the door clasp has somehow come loose and stopped working - has to be wiggled into place every time I close the door). The really frustrating part is the low water levels (and even bulky is less than a half a bin of water. I am attaching a photo with two sets of sheets, a towel and three wash cloths). Most cycles only put about two inches of water in the bin - appalling. And the long long long cycles - what is energy-saving about having to do a load twice and using more than an hour for one cycle? I wish I could adjust the water levels. Seriously disappointed in this duo. Sorry I wasted my hard-earned money on it. I was seduced by a pretty exterior.

Needless to say is out of warranty; and too expensive on our limited income to have a technician repair. I will hope to make the repairs myself; nothing to lose at this point; and from reading the countless negative reviews about this product; should be as many countless repair suggestions on YouTube. Obviously if Maytag would stand behind/up for their product as they claim they do; I and many others would not have these issues. Model# MVWB850WQ0, Serial# CY4070329, Type 580-02. Bought this Commercial Technology washer 2-1/2 years ago thinking the commercial model would be heavy duty. It was only heavy on the wallet. The washer started to emit a loud roaring sound two weeks ago that never happened before. It happens on spin cycle. We cant even have a normal conversation in the house. After reading similar problems and outrageous cost to repair, Im leaning to look for a replacement without the Maytag label. My 10+ year old Sears Kenmore didnt have any problems. My mistake was to replace it with a more efficient washer. I guess New+Efficient doesnt equal long lasting for Maytag. You would think a major manufacturer would put in heavy duty bearings in a washing machine. Heck, maybe the bearings are heavy duty but design shortens bearing life. Enough time spent on Maytag. I bought this stove thinking of the Maytag repair man commercial that was advertised on TV for washing machines. Apparently Maytag only knows how to make washing machines (I did not buy one of their washing machines after my experiments with their stove). From day one the oven door never closed right, the self cleaning oven device had to be replaced 3 times over the year after have a repairman tell me that they all fail. I stopped using the self cleaning feature. This stove has cost me so much in repairs. The cook top is very very hard to clean. It always looks dirty. All the plastic knobs have melted off because the oven door never closed right. And the knobs are crazy expensive to replace as is just about everything on this stove. The oven temperature can not be trusted never cooked at the temperature it was set at. I paid a lot of money for this stove 10 years ago. And I am finally able to replace it thanks to a Christmas present from my 3 children. I love to cook and this stove made it difficult. My advice is to look for a different company when buying a kitchen stove. This Maytag has been nothing but trouble for me.

Dryer doesn’t dry any size load in one cycle regardless of settings. I can honestly say that my Maytag refrigerator is indeed the worse appliance that I have ever purchased. This is how it rolled... I bought a new Maytag stove, frig, microwave, and dishwasher in June of 2006. Here is what I am now dealing with... the frig went on the fritz 2 years ago (warranty expired). The problem being the freezer would not automatically defrost. Because of this the coils would ice up and this prevented the cold air from moving from the freezer into the frig part. Things remained frozen in the freezer, but everything became warm on the other side, the frig side. I had it repaired about a year and a half ago to the tune of $165. Then about 6 months ago the problem reoccurred, but instead of paying for another repair I figured out that if I used my blow dryer I could defrost the ice from the coils on my own.Unfortunately, the problem reoccurs more frequently now and I have to manually defrost the coils almost every week. This past weekend things finally came to an end as no matter how many times I manually defrosted the coils, it would be fully iced up again with an hour or so. Also, all the time it is acting up it just sucks up electricity, and I have notice a spike upwards on my energy bill. It must be related to the frig. So, I bit the bullet and bought a used frig on craigslist just to hold me over until I have time to do research on what appliance brand is indeed reliable. I should of done this before I bought my Maytag appliances from Home Depot. As far as my other Maytag appliances, here is their current condition. Microwave about the stove: the handle broke off a little less than 2 years after purchase. Stove: now has rust on the front of stove, at the bottom of the stove which is a pull out drawer.Dishwasher: not working at all. The start button doesnt work. Normally, you just push the button and a green light comes on and it begins the first cycle. This is no longer happening and no green light comes on. Refrigerator: Took it to the dumps this morning to be recycled. Cant believe it, all of these appliances are nothing but crap and I will never purchase another Maytag. I have shared my experiences with all my family and friends and have encouraged them to avoid Maytag, as it is not even close to being the product it used to be. Another piece of junk coming from somewhere other than here in the USA. We lose jobs here in the US, and then end up buying the goods from another country that makes inferior products. How stupid can we get!
