We purchased a Maytag gas range, only to have the paint wash off the front trim of the oven door. The digital panel went out in the second year of use and is apparently expensive to replace. After going through reviews by other owners and discussions with repairmen, it was determined that these panels only last about a year and are defective. This problem is extensive with Maytag. My brother was a repairman for them and dropped them due to poor quality of workmanship in appliances and their dishonest approach to warranties. I should have known better. Dont ever buy Maytag!!!

Maytag calls peeling paint a cosmetic issue. With a convection oven it could be a toxicity issue. Waiting for an answer to my question as the fan blows the peeling paint onto anything that is not covered. Dont put foil on the bottom as this compromises the paint due to design. Truly sorry to have purchased Maytag as this line is not the Maytag we grew up with! Old school ovens and products had the quality or workmanship to last.

Oven racks falling down and theres appears to be no solution because the interior liner of the oven has warped. The 3rd party repair guys tell me the interior liner needs to be replaced, its not worth the repair cost, Im better off shopping for a new set. Its so unfortunately that this happened (we moved into this house with existing appliances that we cannot use...) and it seems to be a common problem, yet Maytag claims they have NOT received any complaints about this.

The range I have works awesome, which is surprising for an electric stove. For being 11 years old I am happy with how it is still holding up. The only thing I would improve is if it was a double oven instead of a single!

Purchased a Maytag range with Aqualift technology in 2013 thinking it was a good brand and *happy* to find a new way to self-clean my oven. This turns out to be nothing but a joke and I am not *happy* with it. After following directions to the letter, there is some loosening of anything on the floor of the oven, but the sides and top are slowly being coated with more and more grease. Ive spent way too much time with my head in the oven trying to scrub stuff without using a heavy duty cleaner but feel I now need to resort to Easy Off as there is no other way to get it clean. I also dont understand why they tell you to remove the racks since there obviously isnt enough going on to even clean the oven... How would the racks be damaged? And now I believe there is a problem with the Dual Choice element where Im not able to turn the temperature down. Even turned back to the low setting, the pan cooks away like its on high. I have to keep turning it off and then back on in an attempt to find something similar to medium or low heat. Im so very disappointed in Maytag and feel this method of oven cleaning should never have been put on the market. Its a scam!

I purchased a Maytag refrigerator, stove, dishwasher and microwave in 2006. Like another commenter, I also insisted on all Maytag appliances. What a huge disappointment. About four months into owning the microwave, a computer module had to be replaced. The microwave stopped working about six weeks out of warranty. It just stopped working, period. I was told by Maytag that they consider microwave a disposable product and they would not cover the repairs. It was cheaper to buy a new one than repair the old one so I replaced it with another brand. The dishwasher failed after 4.5 years (would not drain) and again it was cheaper to replace it than fix it. The oven range handle broke off (normal use) in August 2011 and that cost me approximately $200 for the part and the service call. The refrigerator has had two service calls for the ice maker to replace the motor. The first was covered by Maytag, the second by me. This occurred when the unit was approximately three years old. In August 2011, I had another $90 repair because the ice maker drain (?) was plugged and had to be cleared fixed. I have never been able to pay what I paid for these appliances. Prior to this, we always purchased a middle-range appliance and we never had problems like this.I will never purchase another Maytag product again. This is so disappointing. I live in MI and I wanted to support a MI business. Unfortunately, I wont be able to help out this particular company any longer. Dont buy Maytag appliances. It is a waste of money.

I purchased a dishwasher and stove from Home Depot. Stove has already been replaced twice because of faulty manufacturing and now the dishwasher, after 1 1/2 years no longer works due to the control panel. I called a repair representative of Whirlpool/Maytag and explained the circumstances. Their own customer service people indicate that it is cheaper to replace a product then it is to repair it. Shame on Maytag and Whirlpool that they move their companies to countries outside of the United States and they no longer stand behind their product. Shame on them that what use to be the best product around is no longer worth paper you print on. I will no longer purchase any product from Maytag, Whirlpool or Home Depot since they all seem to line their pockets from products they know wont last. One mouth is worth a thousand complaints and I plan on screaming from the rooftops!

My refrigerator was delivered on April 3, 2016. I began calling for service July 2 when the bottom freezer door started depositing ice chunks on my kitchen floor every time we opened it. An appointment for service was made for July 18, service never showed up. Another appointment for August 3 was made and again service never came. I called the 800 number on Aug 19 again arranged service for Aug 24 after hours so that we did not have to take anymore time off work. When repair finally looked at the fridge they said the door was not aligned and did not close so the frost builds up and breaks off onto the floor. This can be fixed with a new door that can take from 6 weeks to 8 months as they are not stocked and have to be made at a factory. The fridge constantly runs and is starting to leak water through to my kitchen floor and basement ceiling tiles.I called Maytag/Whirlpool on Aug 25 and the service agent told me the best they could do for me was extend my original warrant by 6 months while I wait for replacement part and they advised I purchase the extended warranty. The second agent named Gabby I spoke to advised me to call Home Depot where I purchased the fridge to see if they would do something for me. She would write down my concerns but had nothing more to say or do for me since the repair person deemed the unit repairable and a part has been ordered. I called Home Depot on Aug 25 and I spoke to Appliance Dept who told me the manager who could help me was off that day. He advised me to stick weather stripping around the door to seal the leaks. I said I was hesitant to do anything that may void a warranty and he agreed. He suggested I may get a loaner fridge but I have heard nothing yet. I want a replacement fridge. When you pay $2000 for a fridge it should be worry free for at least a year? I have been reading reviews and I am wondering why this is not a recalled appliance as this seems to be a very common problem. I am sad that Whirlpool is not standing behind this product. Home Depot has been in touch with me regarding this fridge issue and the lack of customer service provided by Maytag. They are replacing the fridge on Sept 9th 2016 and taking the old unit away. Home Depot has tried to get in touch with Maytag and they have not gotten a response at all about my faulty unit. The staff at Home Depot in Peterborough have been excellent to speak to and have apologized for the issues with getting service to my appliance. I am very grateful to them for their assistance and for following up with me in this matter. The downside is that I am getting another exact Maytag unit as a replacement so hopefully this does not start all over again. Home Depot has been a great retailer to deal with. I am very saddened to hear that even Home Depot cannot get responses from this manufacturer. I have also lodged a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.

I can see by the comments on this page that the letter I sent to Whirlpool was in vain. I purchased a Maytag double oven gas range (MGT8775XW00) from our local Lowes. We were remodeling a home we had purchased. Unfortunately (as anyone whos been involved in home remodeling/renovation knows well), it took much longer than I thought it would before range could be installed. It was several months later before it was installed. First time I tried to use the top oven, it would heat to set temp (I assume) and then shut down. The larger bottom oven had erratic heating. I tried adjusting oven temps but it was a guessing game. We had Fix-Rite Corp out twice and they were puzzled by the problem. Two times, they replaced the control panel. After the second repair, it was decided the only thing to fix the kitchen was a complete gutting, new cabinets and floor. The oven was pulled out before I had a chance to use it again. By the time we got the kitchen finished and range reinstalled, I discovered the oven still had the same problems and the broiler would ignite sometimes and when it did, the flame would go out after 30 to 60 seconds and would not come back on. By this time, we were past the one-year warranty. After the first repair did not work, I tried to get Lowes to take it back and assured them I would purchase another range from them. They said they could not do that. Now I can see Im going to end up buying another range. Be assured it wont be Maytag and it wont be Lowes. I also own and use Maytag washer and dryer.

Three years ago, we purchased a gas Maytag double oven, it worked fine for three years, then it blew the breaker. When we turned the power back on, we could not turn the oven off. The control panel had to be replaced, dinner too. We had bought the extended warranty, so that was covered. Last week, after four months, it happened again. We placed an oven thermometer inside the oven and it is was higher than the maximum temperature of 600 which the thermometer could measure. We are currently awaiting a new control panel. Maytag used to be a good name, but recommend you to buy something else.

I purchased Model #MGR7661XB (Gas Cooktop and Oven) in November 2009. From the very beginning, we realized it was a mistake and looking back, we should have sent it back. The finish, both on the stove as well as the burner racks (the removable grate that the pan sits on when cooking) has some sort of coating that instead of repelling grease and food seems instead to actually attract it. Any hot liquid or grease actually seems to melt into the finish and becomes impossible to remove. Essentially, our stove was ruined within the first week. We have even tried putting a scouring pad on a wooden spoon and scrub with as much force as we can muster - to no effect. Short of using a putty knife, and completely destroying the finish, I cant think of any way to resolve it.As for Self-Cleaning ... yeah, right. Use for entertainment purposes only. It doesnt clean at all.The latest issue is now the oven lights about 20% of the time. The broiler still works and we have discovered that we can trick the stove by allowing the broiler to heat up the stove to about 200 degrees first - then, when the oven is already hot, the oven part will ignite.Speaking of igniting ... from the beginning, this stove has the loudest ignition system I have ever heard. You can hear it ignite click/pop from two rooms away and the oven cycles on/off every 10 min. or so. It is very annoying. All I can say is, never again will I buy another Maytag. This was supposed to be the upgraded sealed burner model (which also is impossible to clean). This stove is only 4 years old but it was a mistake from the beginning. Like I said, I should have returned it after the first week.

First I would like to thank the salesman who has worked diligently to solve the problem I am having. The first load of dark clothes I washed came out with what looked like lint on them. It has to be scraped off. Yes I am using HE detergent. Yes I am using the minimum amount recommended by the manufacturer. & yes to all the other questions I have asked. The solution was to wash the dark clothes on power wash with an extra rinse. Very energy efficient! This was NOT the answer so I was given a 1-800 # to call. After giving all the necessary information & answering all of the questions about detergent etc. the conversation became a little more in depth. Does it happen with dark clothes? Do you dry your clothes outside or in a drier? It was becoming obvious to me that Maytag is aware of this problem. By this point I was even unhappier as no solutions were being offered. Finally after several would you mind holding the line again for just a minute he said he couldnt tell me to do this but some of his friends add a cup of vinegar to their wash. At this point I told him I was sorry I had ever bought this machine. He then said he would have a technician arrange an appointment. He arrived & declared I was using too much detergent even though by then I was using half on the manufacturers recommended amount. Buying an energy efficient washer where I have to use POWER WASH, EXTRA RINSE, VINEGAR & DRIER is not a good answer for a problem Maytag must be aware of as I read the reviews today. I have just done 2 loads of dark laundry with no detergent & the pants are marked so I WANT AN ANSWER.

I bought a Maytag MGR5605WW range on July 3, 2011 and it took till mid August before I received it. Right away I noticed when I put a pan on the grates, I had to be careful so they did not slip off. Dangerous! Then I made a pizza, and when I pulled the rack out of the oven, the rack tipped down and the pizza slid down on the oven. Danger again! I went over to Menards and they gave me the number of A&E (1-800-771-3029). I called them when I got home and an A&E person said they would call me back. After a few more calls, no one ever called me back. I went back to Menards. They said I need to deal with Maytag. I am very concerned with the racks, and so is everyone else. They are cheaply made. Tonight I had a family member place the frozen turkey on the rack and it bowed down! Danger again. The grates have a few chips. This is a nightmare. What a piece of trash. I’m trying to get someone to respond. This stove is dangerous to my well-being, and I have no other choice but to use it.

My complaint is not against Home Depot but Maytag Products. They are inferior products. Stay away from Maytag! Note: We are in our mid-to late 60s, no kids using these products and they do not get a lot of wear and tear. Maytag Microwave: MMV 4205DS-0, May 29, 2014 we purchased Maytag appliances for our kitchen (stove and microwave from Home Depot). I liked the 10 year metal warranty plate attached to the front limited warranty of the microwave. This means nothing! They cover the stainless cavity of the microwave (a part that will never go bad). June 3, 2014 this microwave was delivered. Thanksgiving, the microwave went out November 30, 2015 this was replaced with GE Profile Model JVM3160RFSS for $178. November 30, 2015, Diamond Factory Service was here for the Microwave. We paid $90 for the service call. They wanted $228.09 to repair (1-8206419 Switch $15.22; 1 W10269460 Switch $27.03; 1 W10727360 Microswitch $27.03 and Labor $155.00). Maytag Dishwasher MDB7749AWM. Purchased from Al race Appliance for $599.95 total with tag etc was $920.27 on 5/16/12. So thankful was purchased the additional warranty for five years. We have had 2 service calls so far for the same issue, which is W10356494 Console CMFF0312434. This is a known problem (it will not start). I wish I would have googled the model before purchase was made. When the warranty expires, this will go to the curb too. Also, purchased Maytag Neptune Washer and Dryer from Best Maytag, Rockford. The dryer had problems with the circuit board after a short time. Too expensive to replace. Our family and friends ALWAYS purchased Maytag only. No more! Stay away! We are waiting for the oven to go next. Oh and check out the bottom drawer. There use to be room for pots and pans. No more. Lucky to get your pot holders in there.

We purchased the Maytag MDB8959SAS0 dishwasher about 2.5 years ago. A couple of days ago, the lights on the control panel started blinking and beeping erratically. I contacted Maytag and they said the control board likely needs to be replaced to the tune of around $250, not including labor! We spent $800 on this dishwasher and it cant even last 3 years?? Ridiculous. The only other advice the service rep. had was that we should have bought the extended warranty. Gee, thanks. I guess with Maytag, you really DO need that extended warranty because their products are junk. I think I will just scrap this dishwasher and go with a Bosch. We also have a Maytag range that needed servicing after owning it for only 18 mos. And a Maytag dryer that needed servicing after a month (at least that was under warranty). I will NEVER buy a Maytag product again... they are complete junk.

Eight years ago we bought all new top-of-the-line, stainless steel refrigerator, double oven range, dishwasher and microwave. All began malfunctioning within the first year: *The refrigerator began to make a loud rattle and the digital control pad needed to be replaced -twice within the first year. Within the next year the compressor had to be replace. *Dishwasher electronic control board was replaced twice, broke again and is still broken. *Microwave door handle broke off, and turntable motor broke.*Range burner ignition system only works on two burners and the shelf for the top oven does not fit -*Maytag refused to replace. Also, after using self-cleaning feature the lower oven still fills the room with smoke so it has been used very little. So, how much worse could it be? I had faith in Maytag-thats why we bought the brand.

I purchased a complete Maytag set for my kitchen (fridge, double oven, microwave, dishwasher) from Home Depot on November 22nd 2012. About two months ago I noticed the dishwasher started to glitch here and there, but was still functional. I removed the panel and found that the wiring was completely corroded and would need to be replaced. I put everything back together and have managed to make it almost a month on the same cable. In the mean time, I searched for my receipts, my manuals, and anything else to show my purchase given the 10 YEAR WARRANTY Maytag wants to mention as a sale point. Aside from Home Depot not being able to find my order information to duplicate the receipt, I managed to find where I had ordered my set online and was emailed a copy. Home depot is not involved with the warranty process, unless you purchase the additional warranty. They deferred me to Maytag. I contacted Maytag and was informed that the warranty only covers the stainless internal tub, the racks, and the chopper. Seriously?? So, absolutely NOTHING mechanical about the product past one year. After paying the $699 for the washer, and another 57.99 for installation and kit, I was told by Maytag that I could buy another 1 year warranty that would cover the part, but it would cost me $289, or roughly half the price I paid to get a whole two years out of the dishwasher in the first place. This means I might as well be paying almost $300 a year just to have this product... ridiculous!! Just to buy the part and do the work myself, the part is $172 plus tax/shipping. Since it is only 4 screws and a couple clips holding this thing on, I am likely going to go that route.I have read many people saying similar things about the electronic wire corroding and this appears to be a well known issue with their products. They recommend sealing the entire area using a tube of silicone to help reduce the amount of time it takes to ruin another cable. Very very very poor craftsmanship. Nice racket they have through charging people so much every couple of years for their products!! As my $4000 kitchen appliance set falls apart, I doubt I will ever replace it with another Maytag item.

I purchased Maytag gas range in March 2011 at Home Depot, Model No. MGR5605WWO. I received the product in May 2011. The porcelain on the grates chips away leaving large grooves in grate, which affects cooking efficiency, (the fire burns erratically). First, I called 1-800-688-9900. The grates were replaced. And then same problem, it was replaced again, and again the same problem. The warranty to cover stove was extended by 6 months. The enamel on the round magnetic cover for the burner is also chipping away. I was told that this chipping of the enamel is a cosmetic problem and does not affect the functionality of the stove problem.A repair technician was sent out at my request to see firsthand the problem grates. I was told by him that if it occurred again, the manufacturer needs to be made aware of the defective grates. He noted that the enamel covering on the grates was not uniform. I have been told by Maytag supervisor today that she will get back to me within 3-5 days and let me know what is going to be done. I have had gas ranges before, but this is the first time this problem has occurred and its continuation is unacceptable. Is there anything further I can do to ensure I have stove grates that do not chip continuously?

Do not buy this refrigerator!! It’s small on the inside but to top it off the vent is on the left side, not in the back, so everything freezes on the left side of the refrigerator. Plus they positioned the light right in the front at the top so you cannot put a gallon of milk or anything tall. Not orange juice, apple juice, nothing!! Horrible design. I’ve had the repairman out, he said he couldn’t do anything about the freezing on the left side unless he turned the temperature up on the fridge and on the freezer. We tried that & The ice cream was so soft, almost melted. The problem then was the temperature was too warm for milk and other items. Not a recommended temperature to keep cold items. He said I would have to keep everything away from the back & the left side to use it without freezing my items. I’ve lost a lot of food because of this. Very unhappy with this refrigerator!!

I am at my wits end, as I try to get some satisfaction for the fact that this stoves cleaning system does not work! We purchased this stove at Home Depot in Hadley Massachusetts on February 2, 2014, and it was installed in a seasonal cottage that we were having renovated. When we arrived at our cottage in May, I was delighted with the stove. The cook top performed well and the oven size was great. During the summer, we tend to grill outside so the oven didn’t get much use, but it perform perfectly every time I used it. I always remove any debris that may have spilled immediately, and didn’t see any need to user the AQUA Clean feature until we were getting ready to leave in October. When I ran the cleaning system as recommended in the manual, there was a stain on the bottom of the oven. I then ran it eight (8) more times with the same result.I called the service number and they scheduled a service technician to come for a visit. He said that the stove was working the way it was designed to and unfortunately since it really didn’t get hot enough to do the job, the stain (and with more use, more stains) would remain. He also noted that should I try oven cleaning products, my warranty would be voided. This was not the answer I was hoping for, but since his visit was on the day before we were heading South for the winter there was not much I could do.Have called the service number several time since then, asking what could be done to rectify this problem with no positive responses. One did say that they could send the service tech again and went so far as to schedule an appointment for January, which she suggested I postpone with the technician until we return in May. The reasoning being is that since the warranty is only for a year, and the cottage won’t be opened until May, the fact that the original appointment was within the warranty period would cover the cost of the visit. When the technician called a few days later, the scheduler said that it made no since to go again, unless Maytag came out with a fix for the cleaning system. Since it’s not broken, but just does not work. I again spoke with a service rep and asked if anything could be done or if I could speak to a supervisor, she said that one would call.. That was weeks ago and still no call.We purchased this stove with the hope that it would last for many years, especially since it is only used for five months of the year. Ease of cleaning the oven is important. Home Depot no longer sells this model, and after some searching the internet I have found that I am not alone with this issue. Apparently it is quite common. We will not be able to access the cabin until May 2015, but would appreciate anything you can do to expedite a replacement of this stove, with one that actually self-cleans or a refund.

We purchased a Maytag Gemini gas range last year in April and the extended warranty. The ovens have not worked correctly since we bought it. I never do this type of thing, however, I am just disgusted! I am going to exercise my right as a consumer to express my customer dissatisfaction and share using the social network. I dislike Maytag and even dislike A&E factory service more! I have never experienced such bad service on a new appliance. What is even more concerning and the reason I am posting this warning is there appears to be no recourse! I googled search both companies and the first things that came up were complaint pages. How sad! Buyer beware! If you buy a new appliance, research the warranty provider. It appears that Maytag has laid off the Maytag repairman and went to a lost cost unskilled service provider! A&E repairman has no idea how to fix the oven. He replaced the part. 4 weeks later, came out and walked in the house and did not even look at anything and ordered the same part again. He told us he would be back the following Friday. He did not schedule an appointment. I called on Thursday before he was due to show on Friday and A&E told me I had no appointment scheduled. They told me to inspect the parts that were shipped. I told them I would not even know what I was looking at! They told me the repairman would be back out between 1-5PM on Friday. No one showed. At 2PM, I called and A&E said the repairman must be on his way because he did not call and say he wasnt coming. But again, he did not show! I made no less than 6 calls to A&E and Maytag after that! A&E would not escalate the situation to a supervisor and on call number 6, when I finally got to an advocate, they told me to call Maytag! I have taken 4 days off as vacation to be home for the repairs and this last day was the final straw. When I researched escalating paths for both companies on Google, the first thing that came up was whole pages dedicated to complaints for both companies!

If I could rate it lower than 1 star, I would. We bought ours new in 2005. Within 6 months, the main pulley for spinning the drum fell off not once but thrice. The repair tech said that the shaft was machined incorrectly at the factory and the bolt that would normally hold it on was backing out. The 3rd time it happened was close to the end of the warranty and the tech could not make it out before the warranty date. When he did show up, they wanted to charge us. I wound up putting the part in myself. Two months later, the suds alarm came on, which caused the water valve to open. The pump kicked out and the water valve stayed on flooding my basement and the electronics in the washer. This happened twice. The second time was a week ago and I tossed the ** out to the curb. We also have a Maytag Gemini double stove which does not work either. This is the second and last Maytag appliance that I will ever own. They are junk!

Machine (Washing machine front loader model # MHW 5500 FC1) purchased Augus
Machine (Washing machine front loader model # MHW 5500 FC1) purchased August 2017. From the start Service Dept USA told me to unplug and re-plug anytime I had a problem as this problem started right away right after installation. In January it was getting stuck on the spin cycle. Unplug and re-plug to no avail. MAYTAG DO NOT have their own technicians just so you know. In the my area they use two subcontractors. In January they sent out the first sub-contractor from Appliance Wizards. He is a one man operation I later found out. As soon as he saw that I had a stacked washer and dryer he told me that this was my problem. He pushed a bunch of buttons on the machine, obviously re-setting the motherboard in a different way than unplug and re-plug and told me that there was nothing wrong with my machine. Not true. Machine was getting stuck again. Called Whirlpool service USA again. Told them not to send the same company. This time they sent JC Service. Excellent company. Kyle came out, identified that it was the motherboard. He claimed that they had other consumers with the same problem but that MAYTAG has corrected the problem and he went ahead and ordered a new motherboard. Waited 8 days and Kyle and another serviceman came and installed the new motherboard two days ago. Yesterday I put in my first load and the whole machine went dead. Kyle came again. He claims it is the motherboard again and he ordered a new one. I called Whirlpool service USA and spoke to Tina. All I wanted them to do is to ship my now, third motherboard quickly by courier so that I would not have to wait another 8 days without a washer. Her resolution was to extend my warranty by 6 months. I advised her that I had purchased a 4 year warranty but if they did not fix it so I can use it, even a ten year warranty would be of no use. So then she went and started reciting THEIR RULE OF LAW with regards to their protocol and told me that if needed they will replace my motherboard as many times as needed. She would not address sending the motherboard quickly. I asked for a supervisor several times and finally she agreed to put me through to the supervisor. She was worst than Tina. She agreed to check with the parts department and if possible she would ship it out by courier. I asked her to keep me on hold while she checked. She came back saying that they were not answering and that IN FACT they could not ship it out expeditiously. So, IN OTHER WORDS, SHE WAS LYING TO ME TO GET ME OFF HER LINE!!!! I asked her to give me the e-mail address of the EXECUTIVE OFFICE for Whirlpool. She claimed that she did not have their e-mail address and that the only way to communicate with them was by snail mail. I checked the internet and found a telephone number for the Executive office in Mississauga. I called them. The menu asked to push 5 for... get this... CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE... I pushed 5, followed by a bunch of beeps and a busy signal and disconnect. I tried 3 times. So there you go. This is their way of giving you a Customer Experience. Then I found a number for the Executive office in the USA. I was able to reach Latisha from the executive team and she assured me that if I were a USA resident she would have that motherboard shipped to be by courier right away. Because I am in Canada she was going to contact them to give me a call but that now I had to wait till Monday. 4 days to get back to me from Canada. Yet when it comes to service and parts, everything is arranged in the USA and everything comes from the USA because it is more cost effective for them. Who cares about the consumer. By then the motherboard will have left three days to arrive. 7 days take away 4 equals 3, take away a day for courier, depending on what time they call me on Monday, otherwise you have to take away two days, and then it will be all for nothing. But again, they must have so many complaints at the EXECUTIVE LEVEL, that they cannot call right away. So folks, note that Whirlpool has not recalled these machines with a defective motherboard, they are still selling them to unsuspecting consumers. They are not making an effort to send them out quickly or keep some in stock locally. BUT THE WORST OF ALL IS THAT THEY ARE REPLACING THE DEFECTIVE MOTHERBOARDS WITH OTHER DEFECTIVE MOTHERBOARDS!!!! This is outrageous!!!! I shall update my review once I hear from the very busy executive office for client care, and again once the new motherboard goes in. I shall post my order number and receipt when I update this review as my husband has all this and he is away. However I can give a work order number from service: **.

Purchased this maytag oven from home depot November 2011. Oven has been working properly since install. The top burner controls do operate too easy and you can just brush up against the stove and turn the gas on which I seen here was mentioned. My major issue is the stainless steel finish that was applied. It appears that this metal was not properly prepared prior to applying the finish. The oven door is with rust blisters. The metal under the coating is causing this problem. The finish in the other areas is with no problems... No chemicals have been used to clean this oven.Customer service of maytag stated that this stove only has a one year warranty... so if you buy any maytag just remember one year and when it breaks down the cost to fix will be more than a new defective maytag stove. I will not purchase another maytag product and I do not recommend that this manufacturer be considered when purchasing any appliance.

Purchased my microwave in 2005 and seldom used it. However in the last few months, the halogen light which lights up the range surface has been flickering. When I asked an electrician doing other work around my house to repair it, he discovered that the halogen light is attached with a dual pin socket which is plastic. When the halogen light gets overheated (and halogen produces alight of heat) it melts the plastic. It has already melted some of the plastic socket. When it fails to operate, I will have to repair the light socket which will be very expensive or buy a new microwave. This microwave cost $800 or more because it offered convection cooking which I have seldom used. This is what is presumed quality appliance? Plus I added the cost of an extended warranty.

Should have read reviews. Ill never buy another Maytag. This stove has been bad almost from start. Stove has burned marks from using broil. Repairman told me not to use broil anymore. One of eyes has been worked on 2 times; the knob does not work correctly; when you turn off, it goes past the off and keeps on going to the left. It is very hard to clean surface. I have had a few years. Company paid for one repair. They should have replaced stove from beginning. Not safe.

Echoing the sentiments of others on this site, I am deeply disappointed in Maytag brand appliances manufactured by the Whirlpool Corp. When, for the first time in my life, I was able to buy all brand new kitchen appliances, I didnt even consider any other brand but Maytag. This was based on many decades of using Maytag products and watching my mother use them. I come from a big family so our appliances got used hard, and the Maytag brand ones worked year after year, decade after decade with little or no maintenance. To put it quite frankly, my new Maytag products are junk. I could supply a whole laundry list of problems but, in the interest of space, will just tell about the latest. A couple of weeks ago the fake tin foil paint on my oven and burner knobs just started falling off, revealing cheap plastic underneath. When I called Maytag to complain, I was asked how I clean the knobs. I told them that when I clean the stove front I remove the knobs and drop them in warm water with a couple drops of Dawn dishwashing liquid for the few minutes it takes to clean and polish the stove front, and that I had been using this same procedure for 2 years. The rep. hemmed and hawed awhile and then went away to consult her database. When she returned she told me that one is not allowed to soak the knobs per the manual, and therefore she could not offer any help. She then generously offered to transfer me to the parts department, where the rep. informed me that replacements would cost $70 EACH, thats a total of $350 plus shipping for 5 cheap plastic knobs. WOW! What a deal! I tell everyone I meet NOT to buy any Maytag branded product, and to apply extreme skepticism before considering any Whirlpool product. (BTW - the last certified Maytag appliance repairman to come & fix one of the appliances essentially admitted they are junk.) Model #: MGR8775AS SN: R32810432.

We built a new home in 2008 and purchased a Maytag appliance package from Home Depot, including a dishwasher, stove and refrigerator. From the beginning, we had problems with our French door refrigerator (MFC2061HEW; it has been discontinued). Within the first year we had 3 ice makers replaced because it was not making any ice. Now, mind you, we went through Maytag to have their repairman to service our appliance and they set up all the service calls. We limped by for awhile and called a different repairman to come and check the fridge because it was not staying cold or making ice again and, of course, it was out of warranty. The first thing he did was check the freon and we were told that it didnt have enough freon to keep it going, so he recharged it and it worked great. We have had to have the repairman come back again this month because it stopped making ice and the temperature for upper and lower was all over the place. He checked the freon again and said the unit has a slow leak in it and he was unable to fix that. I contacted Maytag because I felt if the first repairman had checked the freon from the beginning, we wouldnt be having this problem. The only suggestion I got from them was call a company with a dye kit test and that they are sorry, but its not under warranty. I dont know about anyone else, but $2000.00 for a fridge that has been a pain since day one is a lot of money to replace. I feel they dont care about their customers and they should be responsible for paying for the repair that should have been caught from the get-go.

I purchased the Maytag 6.5 inch electric convection oven about 2 years ago. I wish I hadnt. The oven temp is way off, it cooks unevenly, the back burners hardly work, and the back burners on the stove top barely work, the knobs get stuck constantly, the self cleaning does not work, and the glass part of the door allows dust to get trapped in the glass. The range is $800+ piece of junk, best used at the scrap yard. Today, I turn my oven on, and the element underneath the oven pan caught on fire. Now its broken in half, and needs to be replaced. I look up the QR code, and come to find out the oven is actually a Whirlpool, with Maytag labels on the outside. I would have never purchased this range if I knew it was a Whirlpool. I have always had issues with Whirlpool appliances. This is a fraudulent product, and deceives the customer. Why sell it as a Maytag, when its really a Whirlpool? It should at least state that fact on the description, and salespeople should advise the customer. Now I know why its a piece of junk, because its a WHIRLPOOL!!! I will never buy a Maytag or Whirlpool product ever again. I have always stuck with Maytag appliances. Every appliance in my house is a Maytag, or are they Whirlpool?

I have been on the chatline with Maytag customer service for two days, trying to enforce my warranty, which expires next week. My washer flooded my kitchen over the weekend, and I contacted Maytag to schedule the repair under the warranty. First, the woman, Aisha, looked up my registration, and confirmed that I was who I said I was, that my address and phone number had not changed, and told me that according to the records, the washer was purchased on 2/7/2011. Whats the problem? First, they wanted the model and serial numbers. I realized that this is important information in determining what machine needs what repairs, except there was not one sticker anywhere on my washer! Aisha said that the technician would not perform the repair, if the manufacturer did not install the model information properly on the machine. As if I had any control over the placement, or lack thereof, of proper ID for the washer. This was followed by a request for proof of purchase. I explained that I moved, and misplaced it, but I would have it emailed to me from the original purchaser. I was told that unless she could verify the proof of purchase, and the date of purchase, she could not schedule the repair under the warranty. This is despite the fact that not 5 minutes ago, she had just read this information from her computer! I asked her why would I register someone elses washer under my name and address? She didnt care. I told her I would have the receipt emailed the next day, and she stated that regardless of the date I requested, and scheduled the repair, if the actual repair took place after the expiration date of the warranty, it still would not be covered! I told her that makes no sense. I have no control over your scheduling issues. If you cant honor the warranty if the repair is made after the expiration date, then I need a date prior to that. I am entitled to the terms of the warranty, and intend to use them. Aisha said again that, without proper proof of purchase and purchase date, without proper tags on the washer, and if the repair takes after the expiration date, it would not be covered. I disconnected from her, and reconnected with another rep, who told me that some of the information Aisha gave was incorrect. I can schedule the repair, get the receipt and email it, or submit it through the chat, and regardless of when the repair was actually done, the warranty would still be honored. This person couldnt be sure what effect the lack of proper tags would have on that. My third re-entry into the chat was no better. I located a copy of the receipt in my email, and contacted the chat again. An almost amazing thing happened! This woman again confirmed all of the information Aisha recited last night, and was prepared to schedule the repair, without even asking about proof of purchase. This woman, Jennifer, was willing to schedule the repair, verify that it would be covered under the warranty, even if it was after the expiration date, because I had called and arranged the appointment before the expiration date, and she was willing to have the missing manufacture tags replaced. I had to ask her three times to review the email, and confirm that I had the correct receipt for the technician. I asked if the technician in the course of repairing the washer, had to remove the drainage hose, could he either replace it with a longer one, or add an extension, because according to Lowes at the time of installation, the hose they installed was supplied by the manufacturer, not them. Jennifer stated that since he was only there to repair the leak, and installation is not covered under the warranty, I would have to pay for him to replace the wrong hose, with the correct hose myself, even if he removes it! I told her that she needed to ensure that the technician absolutely did not remove the drainage hose from the back of the washer during his repair, because if he removes a part that is obviously the wrong part, and then replaces the wrong part after his repair, I would file a complaint every single place I possibly could. Why would a repair technician remove a part, determine that it is the wrong part, and then put it back! That is like a mechanic repairing the axle of a car, and discovering the brakes are bad, but since he is only there to repair the axle, he replaces the bad brakes after fixing the axle! He was going to be able to replace the missing manufacturer tags, though! This entire process took at least 3 hours and two days. To date, Maytag/Whirlpool is absolutely the worst company I have had to deal with, right after Sears, and ahead of AT&T. The consequences are that so far, Maytag refuses to have the technician replace the wrong hose with the correct hose, if he removes it in the course of repairing my washer.

I am very dissatisfied with this Maytag Gemini oven Ive had it for 4yrs. It has been in the shop twice for the same problem. Temperature control. I own a MAYTAG BRAVOS XL* TOP-LOADING HIGH EFFICIENCY LOW-WATER WASHER. On 9/1/15, after reporting a problem, a service person arrived to assess the problem. His diagnosis led to a second visit on 9/8. On the second visit he replaced multiple parts, assuring us that the problem was fixed. When this proved to be false, we called for a third visit; this time a different person arrived. After disassembling the washer he found a large hole and another cracked area in the inner plastic portion of the tub. We made a fourth appointment for repairs, receiving assurances that it would be repaired at that time. I received an e-mail today (9/16/15) informing me that an additional 7 days would be required to arrange for delivery the required part. In the interim, my wife and I are forced to use a local coin operated laundry about every three days, totaling 7 visits at approximately $25 and 3 hours per visit before the next scheduled appointment. The compensation offered, 9 months extension of the existing warranty is woefully inadequate. I want the appliance replaced, as history has taught me that you are obviously unwilling or incapable of repairing it correctly in a timely manner. Additionally, I want the initial warranty that accompanies a new product extended to a full 3 years. We have paid out over $150 and wasted 18 to 21 hours of our time unnecessarily. I expect compensation for the funds spent as a direct result of the bungling, incompetence of your service staff. My questions are these: 1. Was the part defective prior to installation? 2. If so, why did the representative not notice it and refrain from installing a broken part? 3. Why was there no mention of the damage on the first visit? 4. If not, how did the damage occur? Did the service man damage it and fail to report it? 5. What caused the delay in obtaining the part? I have other questions, but will no longer spend any more time on this debacle. I cannot honestly say which is worse, their quality or their pathetic version of customer service.

Maytag in general has gone from being reputable in the early 70s to being the epitome of a rip-off company that sells junk, then refuses to stand behind it. I have a Maytag Washer and dryer. The washer continually goes out of balance and spins across the floor. Repair people tell us that our floor is not strong enough - funny, our new Samsung washer has no apparent issues with the floor or anything else. Our Maytag Gemini is a piece of crap. The ovens do not work or heat up most days. Maytag pushes replacing an EOC board at $800.00, but then the part is not available. Stove is not even six years old. Maytag is a synonym for junk.

I have always been an advocate for Maytag Appliances. Never bought anything beside Maytag. Our old Maytag refrigerator broke. Would cost too much to fix. So, we decided to buy new. We had the old white, which I was perfectly fine in buying again, however, white was super expensive. So, the salesperson persuaded us to purchase stainless steel. We got a pkg for close to $4000 all in June of 2016. Needless to say, these items have been called for repair within the 1 year warranty over half a dozen times, and have had to replace pieces that have just broken. My worst experience is the stove. I really do not like it at all. I feel the product is misleading. We wanted a self cleaning oven. It is the newest brand out there for what I consider a joke. It is the AquaLift Technology that does not clean anything. My old Maytag self cleaning oven cleaned far better than this. The same spots are in the oven. It just is worthless. I have addressed my frustration with Maytag where I was told that the oven is for the light user. Well, then you need to educate the people who sell your stuff, because I have a family I cook a lot. If this product was made for an apartment single person who does not cook then we should have been informed. Your product states Self Cleaning. Its not self cleaning!!! My frustration went up to the main office of Maytag where their resolution was to give me a discount on a new stove. What do I do with the one I have, and I was told I could sell it!!!! Really Maytag wow from a consumer that has always been a valued customer this is the level of service I get. I ended up purchasing an extended warranty on all Maytag products, because of my fear of something just breaking again. My advice to all is either buy a no named brand or buy something cheaper. Please folks if you have a family do not purchase these products. Its for people that just need a pretty display of appliances!!!

Often items are left with quite a bit of water in at the end of the wash cycle (often literally dripping as you transfer to the dryer), and you cant just rearrange them in the washer and then spin again. The only option on the washer is to both rinse and spin, which almost never helps get out more water. So you then have a heavy load in the dryer, much longer dryer time, and higher utility bills to get some loads dry, especially bath towels, sheets, jeans, etc. The washer is large capacity, but if you fill it more than 1/2 to 2/3 full (depending on the heaviness of your items) the spin cycle definitely will not get nearly enough water out of the clothes. The lid on the washer is SLOPED!The most ridiculous design I have ever seen for a washer, everything you set on top, even for a moment - laundry detergent, folded clothes, wet clothes - ends up on the floor. And the lack of agitator means at the end of the cycle, some loads that contain a sheet or any large flat item (tablecloth, etc.) the rest of the items are captured below the larger flat item that is over them like a mushroom cap. You cant tell how long the items have been like that in the washer, but its hard to imagine they are getting properly cleaned and rinsed. You absolutely cannot use powder stain removers, especially OxiClean, unless you are using the oxi cycle (much longer than regular cycle) because with any other cycle you will have white cloudy patches on all your clothes and items where the powder dissolved in the water but did not rinse out. You have to manually scrub them out, as putting these items through another wash cycle does not remove all the spots.

When we moved to a new home, we upgraded all the appliances, including the microwave. This was four years ago. When the first microwave stopped heating the food after two years, we thought it was a fluke and bought a brand new one, since fixing it would have cost more. Well, I should have gone with another brand. This is two Maytag microwave ovens in four years! We cannot believe that a company who enjoys such a good reputation can get away with such shoddy products!

You can adjust temperature up or down according to actual temperature readings, but the temperature swings so much that it is worthless to try. Very hard to get food baked right.

Ive had my Maytag microwave (MMV4203DS00) for a little over two years. I started getting SE error code. The control touch pad membrane is shorted out. I suspect because the design doesnt allow it to be an over-the-range even though thats the kind of microwave it is! I think the humidity from the burners shorted out the membrane. I called the company and the part would cost approximately $180 for me to fix myself. I have a really hard time believing that one part of a $200 microwave costs $180. Ridiculous. It appears this microwave is designed to fail. Customer service was rude and snarky. The company doesnt appear to stand behind their product. Maytag used to mean something. I had started to replace all my kitchen appliances - microwave, then stove. I thought Id be consistent and buy Maytag based on their reputation. I will never buy Maytag again.

Bought a stove in May of 2014. In July of 2014 we noticed a 1x6 stain inside the glass of the oven door. I called Maytag and they stated only 30 day warranty on cosmetic flaws. I said this was not there when we bought it. They asked if anything had boiled over because if liquids get in the vents on the oven door it can get in between the glass. I stated no, only cleaned with Stainless steel clear. They stated most likely when I sprayed the door it ran down in between the glass. I said that is a flaw. They said, no the vents are there to allow heat out. I asked if they also were designed to let liquids inside the glass, they said no, I said design flaw. They will do nothing. I also pointed out that nowhere in the owners manual is there a reference to this possibly happening. Our sons in laws have a 3 year old LG stainless steel with vents and have never had this problem. Maytag will not stand behind their products even when they are the ones at fault. Buy a different brand.

I also have a Maytag Quiet Series 300 dishwasher. The front panel has stopped working. It was a horrible dishwasher from the beginning. The dishes were streaky on the top rack. And I had to replace the rollers after just over a year. The upper rack has rust on it. The Maytag double ovens I bought at the same time had to be replaced within a year, as the racks damaged the porcelain interior. I also wish I had found your site before my purchases. My husband is not working now. So, I guess we will be washing dishes the old fashioned way.

We purchased a $700 Maytag range 2 years ago and recently the oven did not work. After a Maytag authorized tech came out and checked the unit, he proclaimed the circuit board was bad and needed to be replaced. Since these ovens only have a 1-year warranty - regardless of the price you pay - he said it would be over $450 to repair it. When I asked why so expensive, he stated that they dont price the parts - Maytag does. I decided I could buy a new range for that price and get one with a warranty so I passed. I then decided to contact Maytag because I was very disappointed that such a reputable brand would prove so faulty. After writing a very polite letter and emailing customer service, they replied with a pack of lies. They stated that they have no control in what the service company charges for parts and failed to offer any assistance. They did not offer any solution except to say, Sorry. Well, you can bet that I have already spread the word to all my friends and associates about this experience and my Facebook page lit up with comments after I posted it. I will never buy another Maytag product and will make it my mission to spread the word. I had a similar issue with my brand new HP laptop but after contacting them, they immediately reached out to me and offered to pay for part of the repair!! Thats how you take care of your customers.

I purchased 4 new Maytag appliances as part of a kitchen update. The dishwasher was the first to fail, less than a year after being installed. The control panel stopped working (random lights would come on, always different from the one being pressed, and frequently incompatible selections such as Rinse Only and Sanitize. PC Richards sent a repairman with a new part, no charge. A few weeks ago, it happened again. PC Richards says that replacement parts are only under warranty for 90 days, so now the repair is on me. I could pay or repair it myself or pay PC Richards to do it. Thank goodness I am handy, but I still have to pay for the part. Now I am reading that the MDB7749 series has a history of this problem. When is Maytag going to own up and issue free repairs? I certainly will never buy Maytag again, as both the range and the refrigerator also have common problems. Luckily, I paid for the 10-year service agreement on those appliances.

Maytag Bravo XL - We bought the set about a year ago, after high recommendations from the salesman at Best Buy. This washer does not clean clothes - they come out with soap & spots & white stuff, even after I use the deep water or the extra rinse cycles. These cycles take well over an hour. When they are finally finished, my clothes are twisted into ropes that have to be unwound & taken apart before putting in the dryer. I hate to think what its doing to more delicate clothing, getting stretched & tied up like that. This washer is awful - cant wait to get a new one. The dryer isnt much better - cant believe a $900 dryer doesnt have a steam refresh cycle! And the controls are so touchy - if you actually push them, they dont work. If you lightly hover over the button & barely breathe on it, it does - very strange.

My Maytag model MMV4205BAB microwave turns on and heats when the door is closed. We paid a lot of $$ for this overhead microwave and it has not been a satisfactory product. The turntable broke within a couple of months and now this. Im afraid it will burn my house down. This is a defective product and in my opinion it should be recalled. I have read several other posts about this exact model and problem. We purchased all Maytag appliances for our new home and we have had problems with all of them. The auger on the ice maker on the freezer broke within a couple of months. The handle on the oven door broke off while the builder was installing the appliances, and the top of the line dishwasher doesnt clean the dishes. It leave deposits on everything, no matter the detergent used. Ill never purchase Maytag again!

In a way, l feel fortunate and you will read why in a minute. l have been reading Maytag complaints specifically looking to see if what happened to me has happened to others. Apparently, it has. We purchased our Maytag range, model MER57750AB, in 2005. We too have had some repairs done under warranty. Unfortunately, we live in a day and age where technology isnt always our friend. The old appliances that were not electronically driven lasted forever; todays appliances do not. However, when something with potentially serious consequences happens that is not technology related, it rates in the who is the idiot who designed that? category. I am talking about the exploding exterior glass oven doors. Two weeks ago, the oven door handle on our range came unscrewed on one side. I continued using the appliance, planning on repairing it myself when l found the time. (I used to tinker around the garage with my dad when I was little and therefore, I have great repair skills in several areas.) Last week, I was standing in front of the stove when all of a sudden, the glass panel dropped from the door! It landed straight up on the floor and fell forward so the top edge of the glass landed on my toes (the toes that I had surgery on for six hammertoes last November and are still sore!). Needless to say, l was shocked that this happened, and even more so, I was grateful that it did not break or either of my two grandbabies were around at the time. Then, I looked at the glass and saw that it was attached to the door using only eight small pieces of double sided sticky mounting foam. I mean small! As I said before, idiot! Did they not think that the heat from the oven would eventually wear out the ability of the tape to do its job? I gave up reading after I found enough complaints about the mishaps with the glass on the oven doors to realize that there is a definite problem here. I did not see where the glass fell intact, as mine did. Therefore, I am suggesting that the exploding glass panels more than likely gave way, as mine did, and shattered when they hit the floor. Should there be a product recall for this? Absolutely! The question is how does a recall get put in motion? As others have stated, this could have been a horrible disaster had little ones been around. I pray that doesnt happen to anyone.

Purchased French Door MF12269VM 22 inch from The Brick furniture April 1, 2012. Turned out to be a real April fools joke. Purchased extended warranty with TransGlobal for 5 years. First, fridge delivered after about a couple of weeks because it actually wasnt in stock. Naughty Brick lied about availability. Fridge arrives and after a service call from Maytag repair, they ascertain compressor doesnt work.Order fridge number 2. Two weeks later, get second fridge but lever for dispensing water is broken off. Order fridge number 3. Usual two-week wait and fridge finally arrives but the whole side panel is damaged. Send it back and order Fridge number 4. Service from Brick, Maytag and Whirlpool, terrible customer relations. Misrepresented delivery dates, supply issues, and operational damages.Fridge finally installed. Ice maker operates intermittently for the next year. Service techs from TransGlobal offer a variety of suggestions including changing filter, water pressure issues. Finally ice maker stops entirely in Summer of 2013. Is replaced after a month of waiting for parts of which the wrong part was sent. Ice maker continued to operate intermittently. Sometimes just a small of ice or no ice for a day. Finally in May after another service call, ice maker stopped working for about 4 days. Tech comes out and miraculously, it starts working again. A month later stops again and hasnt worked since.Contacted TransGlobal off shore call centre? And arranged to have an assessment to see if we needed a new fridge. Request declined and Maytag (Whirlpool) sent a tech out after another week. Service tech recommended new freezer. Waited a week for parts and arranged for Service tech to replace ice maker. Wrong ice maker part (for the second time) in less than a year. The latest trick from our possessed fridge is recent alarms from the temperature control. To say we are disappointed in this product, the retail experience, the quality of the manufacturing, the shipping procedures, the poor engineering and design, doesnt come close to describing the shoddiness surrounding this appliance and the service weve received. In conclusion, we are still awaiting an ice maker and are contemplating buying another fridge. What it is fair to say, we will never ever buy another appliance with their the Whirlpool or Maytag attached to it. Nor will we ever again buy anything from the Brick, or depend upon TransGlobal for repair services. Are there other Manufacturers and retailers out there who understand the meaning of service and quality. I certainly hope so. Otherwise Im going to invest in a good icebox.

We have had our Maytag dishwasher for more than two years. Heres how it stacks up: Energy Star rated-Yes; Noise-Almost inaudible except when water runs; Length of Cycles-long except for quick wash 59 minutes; Interior design and loading - 10 out of 10. This is the easiest dishwasher to load and it holds an enormous amount of dishes of all sizes and shapes. Adjustable and removable racks-Yes both. Everything fits including my barbecue and oven racks! Amazing. Stainless interior-Yes including silverware rack. Cleaning- 10 out of 10. Even on a quick wash (59 min) cycle this dishwasher cleans everything! I run a longer cycle just to sanitize if we have sickness in the house. Otherwise it is 59 minutes to finish. Drying-Like most dishwashers this one is only so-so in the drying department, especially on the short cycle. Without plastic containers or utensils the machine dries more completely. However, the amount of moisture remaining after a quick or regular cycle is minimal. The water tends to pool on bottoms of glasses and plastics mostly. Easy to dry by laying a cloth across top rack. Dries in just a few minutes. My only suggestion to Maytag is to work on drying technology to make the machines more efficient and effective. However, that being said, I wouldnt trade this machine for any other. It has every feature I love and a 10-year warranty on parts as well! My machine cost around $600.00. It was neither the top nor the bottom of the line.

Absolutely the worst experience ever. The repair people that were sent to address the problem were great but the Maytag people did not care. I bought a new electric convection oven, the convection never worked. The repair people came out several times and checked and adjusted to try to fix the issues but the oven is totally inconsistent. Even the repair people thought I should have gotten a better response from Maytag! Maytag just said that I had a repair but not replace warranty - of course the warranty period is over now. My four year old Maytag stove blew out the lower heating element in the oven. The model number is MER8880AW. I removed seven small screws to confirm what the problem was and remove the element. That is a short life span for a stove element. My wife checked our paperwork and thought it indicate the part was covered on the 10 year warranty. Called Maytag at 9 AM and went through the press numbers thing, being put on hold, call dropped, told they were not open twice, etc. Finally got a person to talk to at 2:45 pm. Yes the part is covered under warranty, but no they will not give me the part.A repairman must plug it in and put the seven screws back in. This will cost me a lot more than the $50 the part cost me at the local appliance store. 10 year warranty. Wow, WORTHLESS! There WILL NEVER BE another Maytag or Whirlpool in my house. Making a big deal out of their warranty when they are going to soak you bad for a simple install is just plain dishonest.

I just bought my Maytag Range model #MGR8700DS2 in August 2016. Bought Maytag because I always thought it was one of the best with the best warranty around. Now I am not so sure. After using it the first time, found that when you are baking anything in the oven the burner control knobs get very hot. That is because they designed the knob area to be right above where the heat vents out from the oven door. The knobs get so hot that you almost burn yourself if you touch them. This is a bad design in my opinion especially if you have any kids around. Even the sides of the oven get way too hot. This is also bad because of the tight spacing to your cabinets. I contacted Maytag about this and got a OH WELL kind of reply to my problem. You bought it and you are stuck with it. I would not recommend buying this model to anyone.

I purchased this machine and after 2 loads it started making a very loud and awful noise. Maytag sent a local service person and he found a screw that had come undone and was in the motor. Since then there are a few strange noises that the machine makes during different cycles, usually involving spinning. Called Maytag and then sent repair person. This young man was non-verbal, was probably 20 and it was impossible to communicate and try to figure this out. Person sat through a full cycle and he said the noises are because the machine is out of balance. Well, why did the sync system not balance at the beginning of the cycle. No answer to that. He reported to Maytag that nothing was wrong with the machine.Machine is still making noises and I cannot wash a small load or it will still be wet at the end of the cycle. I am a widow and live alone. I dont wash large loads. So I called Maytag again. They dont care. Finally they agreed to send another 2nd opinion. I have a lot of videos of the machine making strange noises and the repair kid does not care...lots of blank stares from him. I highly suggest not going with Maytag. Purchased a Maytag Centennial Washer from Lowes. This is the NOISIEST WASHER I HAVE EVER HAD. Self Balancing, pretty much the way it is, YOU lift that heavy wet laundry and re-arrange to balance. It just slams around even moving the washer, until you do. This washer also doubles as a BLENDER. It SHREDS laundry. The agitator does not go all the way down and thus, clothing, towels, rugs... get stuck under the agitator, wind around and RIP. Have had hundreds of dollars worth of laundry shredded such as: shirts, towels, new rugs and it even ripped the waist off a pair of my jeans! The other laundry gets tied up on the stuck laundry and you end up with a twisted, ripped, tied up Laundry Ball. It will not wash or rinse well when it does this, naturally. Lowes: The salesman knew about all this, and sold it anyway! He had one and got rid of it. Gee thanks Lowes and Maytag, for the worst washer I have ever had the misfortune of owning.

I have asked for a new stove when I called the Maytag Extended Warranty Department, and they will not replace this defective product. Please help me.

Model MMV4205FZ3 microwave hood combination. No problems with open door signal yet. However, light over the stove burnt out. When removing, it exploded. No didnt unplug first. Previous microwave didnt have a problem with this. Instructions are useless. Didnt say to unplug and doesnt provide a model number for the bulb. Consequently, we have now purchased 5 different bulbs and they dont work. Tested socket and power is going to it. Rep at Ace Hardware said he had heard about this happening several times and provided what was to be the correct bulb -- didnt work.

I have never had washing machine that caused this many headaches. The point of a machine is to save you time and energy washing by hand. When the cycle is over, the clothes are tightly spun together that we spend half an hour attempting to untie all the clothes that are woven together. The clothes come back to us in knots, or torn because of the rough nature this machine has created. I have never seen anything like this before and would gladly throw this piece of junk out. We are moving and it would create more headaches to deal with this at the moment. I read that the company had severe money problems and it was due to this very issue. I cant believe a company this well known would allow this to ever hit the market! To openly LIE to people and make money off a product that is faulty deserves the karma they get. Please stay away from this company and their rubbish machines they make and then sell. BUYER BEWARE!

We purchased a wall oven model MEW7530DE 11/8/2014 which was installed the first part of December 2014. From the beginning the temp was not constant and everything baked was either burned or under baked. The first repairman said the control panel was faulty and was replaced four months after purchase, the problem continued. After three more repairmen all from different companies concluded they could find no problem and thats just how ovens work now. We contacted the owner of Hamiltons Appliance, where the oven was purchased, and requested a replacement oven which was accomplished December 2015.New oven, same problem, very disappointing. My wife has been baking for over 50 years and has never experienced problems and frustration on this level. The condition of the oven is totally unacceptable and with all the effort by us and others we are at a loss. We purchased an extended warranty which has resulted not fixing of the problem. We hired an electrician to inspect the wiring in case that was the problem, costing us $200. The wiring was all good. What do we do next and what are our options short of another new oven. WHAT IS MAYTAGS RESPONSIBILITY? Respectfully, a very unhappy customer.

18 month old range did not shut off although it showed off on the cancel page. $800 down the toilet. Maytag had the guts to charge $100 to troubleshoot plus parts and labor. I will donate it to scrap metal. Company does not give a rats behind. DO NOT BUY MAYTAG.

I purchased a french door Maytag refrigerator in Dec. 2009. We have never had decent ice. Icemaker is in the door and the seal does not keep the ice cavity cold enough. After many, many service calls and a replacement refrigerator, I was told to dump the ice twice a week and get ice out of the dispenser all day long. Really? All day long? It is model #bmft2771web1. They will not take care of this problem. It is a defect but they will not take responsibility for it. I now have a problem with my Maytag double oven! The temp on the bottom oven is 25 to 50 degrees off. I am waiting for my dishwasher and microwave to be next. I will never buy another Maytag. Buyer beware. I have to buy my ice from 7-Eleven. Thats why I bought a $ 2,100 refrigerator, so I can get my ice elsewhere!

Maytag Free Standing 30-inch Gas Range - In 2004 we bought our model MGR5775QDS gas range with 5-burners because it offered the most BTU variety for the price: 1 burner with a high BTU (16K), 1 with low (5K), plus 2 in mid-range (9.5K) and 1 with 12K. Within half a year of using the oven, we turned on the self-cleaning function. Big mistake. One cleaning cycle later, our oven refused to ignite. The cleaning cycle burned out the ignition unit. Cant remember if its replacement then was under warranty but the repairman said this was a COMMON PROBLEM with Maytag and we best not use it EVER. In 2014 our cleaning lady mistakenly thinking she was doing us a favor, set the self-cleaning function. Once again, the ignition unit was destroyed. This time its replacement was $350 with part and labor. One and half months later, the oven is again non-functioning. This time our repair guy said the part is a very minor, inexpensive one BUT MAYTAG IS NO LONGER MAKING IT!!! The only way well get our oven back is if he can find another model and cannibalize it to fix ours. Are we disgruntled? Yes. Would we like to see a class action suit against Maytag for knowingly manufacturing a gas range with a malfunctioning self-cleaning unit that destroys oven parts? Yes. Will we ever again buy Maytag? Not on your life. A once stellar manufacturer gone down the tubes with a growing reputation for making junk. American-made appliances mean zip these days. Thank you for nothing, Maytag.

Wow, my dream oven, or now nightmare! I purchased a Maytag dbl oven MGR6775BDS in 2007. The top oven stopped working first after about 3 years and this week, the bottom. I cooked a meal on Monday and Wednesday. Without notice, it would not go past pre-heat. I have called several people and they all act as if this was a truly unique situation. Since I have been out of work, both my regular and extended warranty have expired. I had good faith in a product that carried the name Maytag and the fact that it was on sale for $1,200. I didnt know I had so much company. Yeah, I was told I could purchase a repair warranty for the sale price of $340. Oh yeah, I replaced a 20+ year old oven for the new and stainless dbl oven of my dreams.

We had a house built in 2007 and bought all new Maytag appliances - washer, dryer, oven/range, dishwasher, refrigerator and microwave. Consequently, we spent many thousands of $ and Maytag made much money from our purchases. In the 7.5 years since we have been using these appliances, the dishwasher already had to be replaced, as fixing it would have cost just as much as buying a new one. But its the range that I am so angry about. I have replaced the igniter 3 times since 2007, and last night, it went out again. I have spent $494 so far to keep replacing the igniter and once I make the service call to replace it AGAIN, it means I will have spent approx. $700 to keep fixing an appliance that is only 7.5 years old. Maytag says the warranty on the appliance is only for 1 year and will not budge on giving me a break on cost of parts and/or service. I will NEVER AGAIN purchase anything Maytag or recommend Maytag to anyone.

Freezer leaks water all over the kitchen floor in front of this $1900 piece
Freezer leaks water all over the kitchen floor in front of this $1900 piece of garbage. My husband disconnected the water line (for in-door water and ice cube dispenser) and it STILL leaks water. I can vaguely remember a time when the purchase of a refrigerator (manufactured in the USA) wasnt necessary more than once or twice in the average persons lifetime. This Maytag refrigerator is our second french door fridge in 5 years. The last one was an LG that had a shoddily designed and manufactured compressor that sounded like a diesel engine idling in our kitchen. Of the two, this one is equally defective but doesnt wake the dead when the compressor starts. It has become glaringly apparent the Chinese practice something I refer to as Cargo Cult manufacturing. Google Cargo Cult and youll understand what I mean. Briefly, they manufacture products that APPEAR to be refrigerators, washing machines, ranges, etc. However, lack of quality control and zero competition from companies that provide a well-made, quality product that lasts more than a year or two allows and encourages these slobs to continue pumping out what appear to be appliances until the consumer plugs them in. Thats when the fun begins.

We purchased kitchen appliances in 2012. A Maytag French door fridge, dishwasher and double oven range. So far my lights on the range have not functioned right as to which eye is on on the smooth top range, the ice maker burned out and now the control panel on the dishwasher has burned out. All of course are out of warranty. We have replaced the ice maker. Now in search of the control panel for the dishwasher. Havent priced the part for the range yet. I do know that I have a Maytag washer and dryer that so far are between 10-15 yrs old and knock on wood they work great. But I will NEVER buy appliances with the name Maytag on them again. So sad that you spend top$$$ for 1-2 yrs of the appliances working correctly.

We bought a freestanding Maytag gas range and oven two years ago for our lake house, where we stay approximately two months out of the year. The oven has been used probably six or seven times total. The gas range works fine, and the oven pilot light goes on, gas seems to be flowing, but the oven does not get warm. It registers 200 degrees, but there is no heat inside it at all. $300 to fix!

Our home has seven Maytag appliances: an upstairs kitchen, downstairs suite and laundry room. All were brand new six years ago and what we thought to be good quality by the price we paid for them. We have lived to regret ever dropping a cent into Maytags business account, as we have had nothing but trouble with them. We dont have small kids or teenagers abusing them. Its just us and a very responsible single adult downstairs. And every time we turn around, one of them is costing us nothing but money and grief. Our first problems began with our upstairs fridge when it was only two years old. At that time, it cost us $400 and since then, it just goes on and on. Last week, our downstairs fridge quit, and today, our upstairs one quit. We have had work done on our range, as well as our washing machine and dishwasher. If you are thinking of buying a Maytag appliance, dont, unless you like to throw away your money. I couldnt believe when I looked up Consumer Reviews on Maytag appliances tonight that I would find only 1 out of 5 stars, and read all the terrible reviews written by angry consumers. Well, add me to the list because I will never buy another appliance from Maytag again, and am beginning to think its time to sell this house to get rid of these stupid, useless, pieces of ** Maytag appliances! Sorry, people, but I cant afford to keep replacing them!

Purchased Maytag front load washer model MHW6630HW from Home Depot. Machine was installed 9/15/19. From inception we had issues that have escalated. Machine leaks and makes strange hissing sounds. Home Depot has no record of the purchase in their website now. We tried to return it within days. We contacted Home Depot executive offices and they keep sending Paradise Appliance repair. The repair people do nothing and keep saying we have to come back again for you to be considered for replacement. Home Depot is dragging their feet and we are concerned about the six month deadline. The Maytag does not do an effective job washing and clothes comes out wrinkled. Concerned about the sporadic leak getting worst and doing damage to floors.

Have had this problem since week 2 of ownership. Even on the lowest setting, food in the fridge section is freezing and Im having to throw out fresh produce weekly. Called Whirlpool service since under warranty. The very nice service man replaced the thermostat. Only a little bit better as the temps do not range quite as extreme - only 25-46 now! I am now waiting once more for a service appointment, at least 10 days. Plus in Massachusetts they will only give you a 8-5 service window. They give a robocall the night before and you are given a 8-12 or a 1-4 time for your appointment. I also have had trouble with the meat drawer falling out of the track because the upper shelf bows with the weight of a normal amount of stuff. Now the bracket has cracked and the meat drawer no longer stays on the track when it pulled out partially (such as when you need to reach in and get something). Same thing happens with the lower drawer on the right side although the bracket hasnt cracked.

I purchased a Maytag electric range model # MER8775AS in Feb 2012. While boiling syrup, the pan overflowed onto the oven door. As I began to clean up the spill I noticed that some of the spill had gotten inside the door on the inside of the oven glass. To remove the stain would require disassembly of the door. I called Maytag and complained of what I called a design flaw and they said, No, its your fault for spills entering the door. They even sent a condescending email to me informing me that if I needed to purchase parts, where I could get them. I designed appliances for years and this is another example of poor quality and lack of consumer service. I AM DONE WITH MAYTAG.

I bought a Maytag electric stove steam lift oven 2 years ago, I regret it. I baked a pie, and used the steam cleaning, it didn’t clean, my oven is still dirty. The top of the stove is not easy to clean and scratches very easily. It’s not my first stove, different brand, and I never had problem like I have now. I should have stayed with the brand I had before. My other regret, I should have read the reviews.

We purchased a complete, upper-end Maytag kitchen package from Lowes. So far, the MMV5208WS microwave has gone out 3 times; it was the magnetron all 3 times. The last time was a few weeks after the warranty ran out. After a lot of discussions with Lowes management, they then took it back and gave me choice of any brand. We picked a Samsung and have had no problems so far.As for the MDB8859AWS dishwasher, it was just stuck under the counter for the first 6 months of its life, because we were in the middle of a remodel and it wasnt plumbed in yet. Once we got it working, my wife loved it. Weve used it maybe 40-50 times since she was still hand-washing small sink-loads of dishes. A month or so out of warranty, it went out. There were no lights on the keypad and everything was dead. We thought it was the main control board, but it wasnt. Next, I tried the keypad, because Ive read many posts about these 2 things seeming to always go out on these models. I still have the fridge and stove, and hopefully they fare better than the microwave and dishwasher. What kills me is when I look at my old Maytag dishwasher and Samsung counter top microwave in the garage; both 15-20 years old and still worked just fine after getting replaced. It has never had a repair of any kind. I went out and spent $639.00 (it was on sale, the regular price was $799) on a ** dishwasher and it didnt even last a year. The microwave was close to $400, and it was on sale. I think my old Samsung microwave cost $79.99 when I bought it. You used to get what you paid for!
