Maytag Dryer Repairs

If you're looking for help fixing your Maytag Dryer, look no further! Our comprehensive Maytag Dryer repair guide will explain common issues, provide tips, and maybe show you how to repair your appliance.

For the home, kitchen and beyond, Maytag manufactures appliances that homeowners have come to trust. Even a trustworthy appliance requires occasional maintenance or repair, however. If you’re in need of Maytag appliance repair from experienced professionals, your local Appliance Helper can help.

My Maytag Dryer Isn't Starting
Thermal Fuse. The thermal fuse is a safety device designed to protect the dryer from overheating. The fuse is located on the blower housing or at the dryer’s heat source such as the heating element on electric dryers or at the burner on gas models. The fuse should be closed for continuity meaning it has a continuous electrical path through it when good. If overheated the fuse will have no continuity meaning the electrical path is broken and the fuse has blown. A multimeter can be used to test it for continuity. Be aware that a blown thermal fuse is an indication of a restricted exhaust vent from the dryer to the outside. Always check the dryer venting when replacing a blown thermal fuse.

Maytag Dryer stopped spinning
Drive Belt. The drive belt is a very long, slender belt that wraps all the way around the dryer drum, around a tension pulley, and then around the drive motor pulley. Over time, the belt can break from normal use. If the belt is broken, the dryer won’t turn. To quickly determine if the belt is broken, reach into the dryer and turn the drum by hand. If the drum spins very easily, the belt is likely broken. Next, inspect the belt to confirm that it is broken. If the belt is broken, replace it.

Maytag Dryer takes too long
Air Flow Problem. If the vent is clogged or partially clogged, it will restrict the airflow through the dryer, substantially increasing the drying time. To ensure proper dryer performance, you should clean your dryer’s venting system at least once per year.

Maytag Dryer overheating
Heating Element. The heating element warms the air before the air enters the dryer drum. If the element is partially shorted out, it may produce heat continuously, even if the dryer has reached the proper temperature. When this happens, the dryer gets too hot. To determine if the heating element is at fault, use a multimeter to test each terminal for continuity to the case. If the heating element has continuity to the case, it is shorted out. If the heating element is shorted out, replace it.

Why is My Maytag Dryer not Heating?
Thermal Fuse. The thermal fuse is a safety device designed to protect the dryer from overheating. Be aware that a blown thermal fuse is an indication of a restricted exhaust vent from the dryer to the outside. Always check the dryer venting when replacing a blown thermal fuse.

Maytag Dryer tripping breaker
The Circuit Breaker is Weak. Over time, circuit breakers can weaken. If the circuit breaker is weak, it may trip too often, even if the amperage draw is below the limit. If you have already checked all of the potentially defective dryer components, consider having an electrician replace the circuit breaker.

Maytag Dryer makes noise
Drive Belt. The drive belt is a very long, slender belt that wraps all the way around the dryer drum, around a tension pulley, and then around the drive motor. Over time, the drive belt can become frayed or otherwise damaged. If the drive belt is frayed or damaged, the dryer will be noisy as it turns. Inspect the drive belt for signs of wear. If the drive belt is worn, replace it.

Maytag Bravos XL - I have always loved Maytag and never had any problems. In Feb we did some major remodeling with new flooring in our laundry room. Decided to buy a brand new washer and dryer even though our 10-year old Maytag washer and dryer worked perfectly fine. After looking at Home Depot and Lowes we first settled for a Samsung W & D but before it was delivered we shopped some more. After doing some inquiring we decided that we wanted to stick to a long trusted W & D line so we chose this washing mashing and matching dryer. From day one I decided I did not care for it. I found if I put too many clothes in that they did not come out clean. Any dark pants would come out with what looked to be soap or softener stains and would have to rewash 1 or 2 times. Now I can only put in about 4 pairs of pants to wash. I have been cleaning it once a month as the manual says to do but yesterday I noticed a terrible odor coming for the washer. I could smell it out in the hall. I did the cleaning again but still smell it. Now after searching the internet I find a video that shows the problem is mold under the drum. No amount of Affresh or bleach is going to clean something UNDER the drum. It is not my job to have to take this apart every few months and clean out mold and moldy water. Sounds like this problem has been going on for a few years and this should have been fixed long before this. I wish I had my old faithful washer and dryer back. Maybe I should have stuck to the Samsung washer and dryer.

We purchased a high capacity washer (MVWB835DW), along with the matching dryer, two years ago from Lowes. This review is not about Lowes. They did the best they could to make things right. The review is about the Maytag washer (made and serviced by WhirIpool). It has been nothing short of a debacle. The first two washers did not work and had to be replaced. The third and current washer has been repaired three times, including the drum and motor. We have been without the use of the washer for over a week each time while waiting for parts and Whirlpool to approve the repair. The washer is not high capacity as advertised. Filling the drum even half way results in the washer stopping mid cycle whereupon we have to adjust the contents back into balance. In addition, the machine leaves a lint residue on dark clothing that has to be wiped off by hand. We have asked Maytag/Whirlpool to replace the machine but they say it has to fail for the same issue four times in order to qualify for replacement. We are done and will purchase another washer from a different manufacturer. It’s easy to understand why Samsung and LG have become such a dominate force in the laundry sector. Whirlpool/Maytag does not care about you or the problems with their product. Buyer beware!

I bought a Neptune washer and a dryer. I have had nothing but problems with these items since I got them. My washer keeps giving me a 3e code and will not clean the laundry right. I have used the H E detergent it requires and yet my clothes stink. My laundry smells like mold and mildew. I now dont have my units to wash and dry clothes. I paid almost $4,000.00 for the pair. I dont have the money now to replace them.

The only reason I am giving 2 stars is because I didnt actually spend my hard earned money buying these machines, they came with our house purchase. At first I was excited to have a good quality washer/dryer... Now I understand why the previous owners left them behind. My complaints are like most of the others on here - takes way too long to do a load because of the stupid water sensor, it doesnt wash loads evenly so everything on top hardly gets wet and washed properly, lint all over our clothes, powder residue left behind even though I set it to 2 rinses, a lot of settings but missing useful ones like quick wash... just all around disappointing. At least one good thing has come out of this and we will not be buying Maytag for our new laundry room. Saying that I have also read so many bad/worrying reviews about Samsung and LG - cant any company make good, reliable, lasting products and stand behind a warranty anymore?!

I have been buying Maytag washer & dryers for 40 years. Have always been satisfied until now. The first 2 sets of washer & dryer were great. Very little ever went wrong. Now I have purchased another set approx. 3 years ago. As of today, I will be putting approx. $300.00 in repair to the washer. Repairman said it is a bad design. It is the second time for the same problem, which was repaired a year ago! I will not buy another Maytag product if they cannot be reliable. I should not have to pay $300.00 in repair for a 3 year old washing machine. I am very disappointed.

I have a front loader dryer, model number MAH5500BWW, serial number A9147862ec. All of a sudden, I found water on the floor and after opening up the front door, I see where around the part that sticks of on the inside of the door, there is a big piece of plastic that has broken off and cracked all the way across the bottom of the door and is missing. It is allowing the water to leak down the front of the bottom of the washer and onto the floor.

Bravos XL Top loading High Efficiency Low Water Washer and Dryer - I gave this washing machine a 1 star but would give it a 0 star or less if the choice was available. I agree with everything others have voiced about this washer. I end up using the bulky cycle for everything because it is the only cycle I have found that will use enough water to get the clothes moving around. All the other cycles are a joke. First you must put everything around the wall of the tub away from the so called agitator. Then about 2 cups of water enters the machine. It then goes into this high speed spin. In my opinion it just pushes any soil deeper into the fibers. The drum will then spin slowly and water will spray on the clothes for several minutes but the washer never fills with enough water to cover the clothes. Watching it agitate through the glass top is almost hysterical. Laundry is barely moving. The high speed spin they push as a selling point puts deep wrinkles in everything and the wrinkle control setting on the dryer does nothing for them. It is absolutely the worst machine I have ever owned. My husband has repeatedly told me to sell these and buy another set. I will be ashamed to sell it to anyone. Im not sure how the makers of Maytag got away with selling these machines. I know there are different models but from what I have read they all work the same. I replaced a very low end GE Washer and Dryer with this pair and every time I do laundry I wish I had them back. The matching dryer is very costly to run as almost every load takes 2 cycles to get items dry. Nothing comes out completely dry even if you put it on the more dry setting.

Maytag 2000 front loading washer - This unit was purchased in Feb 2013 along with the matching dryer. From the onset it has presented with the problem of trapping small objects such as socks, underwear and other small loose objects in the rubber seal at the front of the door leaving them soaking wet and needed to be wrung out by hand. There is not any way to run a second spin only to wring out the clothes without doing an entire wash or rinse again rendering the efficiency void. I have been able to buy a mesh bag to put smaller items in for washing with the regular laundry load. However, this is not why I purchased the washer and I would strongly recommend to others not to buy this product. Very disappointed. I thought the Maytag brand was reliable. Never again will I buy any of their products.

In 2007, we bought a Maytag Neptune Washer Dryer Combo from Lowes. By 2008, the washer started stopping operation at every rinse setting, requiring someone to constantly monitor the machine to assure that the button was pushed to fulfill the entire cycle. We called a repair company and were told that the machine was shutting down because the screen in the water intake was getting clogged with debris and was making the machine feel that the water was shutting off. Thus, according to the repair man, the machine was shutting itself off. He showed me how to clean the screens in the intake line and charged me about $150 for the service call. Within a week the machine was doing the same thing again. I pulled out the screens and they were clean. We continued to watch over the washer whenever it was doing the wash and continued to push the button to restart the machine. We live in a very rural area and there are really no repair services available without paying enormous fees just to get them to make a call and the wait is often more than a week.Shortly after the intake incomplete cycle problem, the washing machine stopped getting the water out of the clothes in the spin cycle, forcing us to wring out the clothes before putting them in the dryer. Then we noticed that the washer was leaking from the bottom rear all over our hardwood flooring. We went out and bought a new washer dryer based on reading consumer reports. The cost to replace this piece of crap from Maytag was in excess of $1600. We are only in this house part of the year so this Maytag product not only did not work very well over the short time that we owned it, but it was only being used for a few months out of the year. We have since learned that there was a class action suit over this product line and would like to know how to join the suit. We are so far out in the woods that we will not get our new washer / dryer until some 2 weeks out from our purchase. We have spent nearly $3,000 since 2008 on washer dryers, an average of $1,000 a year.

I purchased my Bravos washer and dryer in Sept. 2010. What a mistake! The dryer is okay but the washer is a nightmare! The repairman and I are on a first name basis. The last time he was here, he showed me how to recalibrate my washing machine. It stops working in the wash cycle, fills with water and then sits there. I have to manually drain it and start over. Then it gets confused and fills with water when it is supposed to be spinning and draining (consequently draining my well). I shouldnt have to recalibrate anything in life, much less, a brand new washing machine.

It’s the worst washer I have ever encountered! I never have clothes that smell clean. The water seems to never completely spin out, the spin cycle is terrible!!! My whole house shakes when it’s spinning and the noise coming from it is so loud. The time on it is never correct; it will say there is 9 minutes left and then just go to 1 and quit! My clothes have never looked clean with this machine. And yes, I use very good detergents and everything else to try to help with no luck! The dryer just takes forever to dry anything. Needless to say, I will NEVER purchase another Maytag again!

Washer leaves spots on clothes and massive knots in clothes. The serviceman has been here twice since we bought it and was told to use extra wash option and heavy load wash with fabric softener option as well, and to only use about one tablespoon of detergent. So much for the green option! Results, still washing clothes 2 or 3 times per load then into the dryer. Tried an experiment - washed a pair of my daughters white capris and then washed them at a friends house while water was saved in a separate tub. Holy crap, the dirt in the water. Do not buy this machine. Not even if it is offered to you for free.

I purchased these appliances on 02-10-16 from Home Depot in Loganville Ga., for almost $2000.00. I filed the first repair call less than 3 weeks after delivery. The sensor panel was bad and had to be replaced. Now 8 months later the washer is not starting, AGAIN. The dryer will only dry one load a day or you get the AF code. This means that the dryer cannot push air over 5 or so and we need to have a vent booster fan (an additional $200.00) installed plus have an electrician run a new outlet. I returned to Home Depot with my complaint. Feeling that I have an inferior product, they tried to get Maytag to make it right. Maytag refused to offer any solutions whatsoever. Home Depot refunded a little over $300.00 for my inconvenience. The washer is an absolute ill-conceived piece of junk. It is ROUGH on clothing and does not remove soap. I started out with brand new (expensive) towels when I purchased this machine and 8 months later all of the hems have been snatched off and theyre unraveling and falling apart and are slowly becoming car wash towels. You cannot wash delicates in this machine and allow it to spin. Underwires in bras are badly misshaped or broken completely. You cannot wear them afterwards without being gouged by bent wires. The only way around this is to take away the spin cycle, but you better be ready with a clean garbage can to haul the dripping clothes elsewhere and hung up to drip dry. The washer has NEVER removed all of the soap from bed sheets. I have a dark gray set that show the soap best. Now I have to wash once with soap then wash again with no soap. This negates the machines being efficient.Unfortunately, I found the negative reviews AFTER buying the machine. My complaints are well known to Maytag, seeing has to how the same complaints are found online as far back as 8 years ago. I have been brand loyal for 30+ years to Whirlpool and thought that I was moving up with a Maytag, based on my parents 50 year experience... I was wrong! I will never purchase another Maytag product nor Whirlpool since Whirlpool now owns Maytag. I have researched and am of the opinion that Speed Queen is a far better product and plan to junk this set and replace them with Speed Queen.

I purchased a top load Maytag washer the spring of 2019. My clothes come out partially dry, with a film/residue, and debris left on them. I was told that they use considerably less water; however there is not sufficient water to wash away small amounts of anything left on clothes. I have contacted Maytag 3 different times. Each time my concerns have been dismissed. The only solid advice they gave me was to use less soap, which hasnt changed anything. They also told me to clean my clothes before I put them in the washer (we have no children at home; Im not talking about really dirty loads). They told me there was nothing they could do, and I was just stuck with the washer. I am completely dissatisfied with this product and the Maytag service. I would not recommend their washer or their service. The dryer works just fine.

I am using the extra rinse constantly since I dont trust the amount of water (not) used. The dryer however, is worthless! No matter the garment or setting, everything comes out in a ball. I would have given this washer/dryer a 0 star, but wasnt able to. Bought the pair and first thing, couldnt get enough water in the tub, clothes wallowing around for an hour in the few cups of dirty water that it allows. Cant even believe how terrible this combo washer and dryer is! Now I get to wash everything in this piece of ____ twice, thank you Maytag! Just took out a load and it is dingy and stinks, so now its wet, on the floor waiting its turn to go back for another wash (possibly even a third). If you want clean clothes, do NOT get this washer. Dryer has issues also. For whatever reason, the AF signal has been on for a couple of months. Turn it off and back on and its okay for a bit, then back on. Its the Air Filter. Its not plugged, so I dont know, I just keep using it with intervals of resetting it altogether. What a total waste of money. Am going to give it away for free as soon as I find a replacement! Save yourself a huge headache and look elsewhere than Maytag. Oh, and if Maytag happens to read my review, you can contact me for a refund any time, just respond to this post, you can even come pick it up and get it out of my home. Thanks a bunch!

I recently purchased a Maytag washer and dryer from Lowes. The performance of the washer was highly unsatisfactory. The water sensor does not allow sufficient water to enter the machine. Thinking it was a malfunctioning machine, I spoke to Lowes, and ask them to swap it out with another machine. They were cooperative and pleasant to deal with however, the replacement machine was no improvement. The water sensor does not allow enough water to enter the machine to even begin to saturate the load of laundry! I bought a washing machine, not a dry cleaning machine, but a dry machine was what I got and that is NOT okay with me. The literature states that load will not be covered with water, so that is how it is designed to work. With inferior water levels, and no agitator, there is not even a chance of water splash saturating and cleaning clothes. I am not an engineer, but common sense says this is efficient nonsense. VERY, VERY DISSATISFIED!

We have had this washing machine almost 1 year and the small problems have grown enormous. In addition to the constant soap residue left on the dark clothes (my guess is its on the light clothes too, but you just cant see it) the washer goes out of balance frequently (they are replacing the suspension, after they said its all working great). The repair man said Im not loading the clothes properly, I need to roll each item of clothing into a ball and then place it in the washer. Are you kidding me, my new machine has special needs? And dont put in too large of loads. What!!! Its an XL capacity but I cant do an extra large load, because half the clothes wont get wet or clean. My original Maytag washer lasted over 25 years (still using dryer purchased in 1977). But the Maytag model SAV 4655AWW I bought a few years ago is a piece of junk! Not long after it was out of warranty, it started making noise. Not overly loud, but noisy. Since then, though it makes such a loud noise, you can hear it 3 rooms away. It leaks water from the seals, shakes and vibrates all over the place (even when level). The rocking appears to be due to pathetic self-leveling legs they put on the back of the washer. I had to put a 2x4 on the back side of the washer to keep it stable. That took care of the rocking, but still noisy, leaking water and now it gets off balance when spinning and stops. It also wont start sometimes and you can smell it overheating. The transmission is now going out of it. This thing has been one issue after another. What is worse about it is I saw in another forum that this washer wasnt even made by Maytag. Supposedly Maytag bought? After the purchase, they just put their name on it. I bought a Maytag because of the dependability of their previous products, so Im thoroughly disappointed in their company and products. If I had wanted a washer built by some other company, I would have purchased it versus theirs. If you purchase a Maytag, you expect to get a product designed and built by them. Ill never buy another Maytag product and Ill thoroughly research the product Ill buy to replace this hunk of junk. My advice would be dont waste your money on Maytag.

Our front load W&D are 7 years old. We have a dog breeding business and when we have puppies the W&D pretty much run nonstop for 16 hours a day or longer. The blankets and towels come out like new every time!! The only complaint I have is the top of the front load machines seem to be plastic and scratched really easy. I liked that they were for extra large loads however now that Ive had them for 12 years I know the large loads are no more than my old Kenmore washer and dryer. The real deal breaker for me is the size of load that you can actually wash. I was hoping I would be able to wash a blanket without worrying about the washer going off balance. My washer and dryer are Maytag although I dont know the model number. They are full size but the extra large load is not extra large. The knob on my washer broke and Maytag wanted $15 for a plastic knob! I found it on eBay for $3. The washer goes off balance too easily.

Bravos XL Washer and Dryer (Maytag) is the worst appliance set ever. Not enough water in the bin, residue despite using the correct detergent, and clothes which do not even get fully wet during the wash cycle. I am so sorry I purchased this pair - I do like the heavy duty spin, and the dryer does dry (but the door clasp has somehow come loose and stopped working - has to be wiggled into place every time I close the door). The really frustrating part is the low water levels (and even bulky is less than a half a bin of water. I am attaching a photo with two sets of sheets, a towel and three wash cloths). Most cycles only put about two inches of water in the bin - appalling. And the long long long cycles - what is energy-saving about having to do a load twice and using more than an hour for one cycle? I wish I could adjust the water levels. Seriously disappointed in this duo. Sorry I wasted my hard-earned money on it. I was seduced by a pretty exterior.

This is just a heads up to anyone thinking about purchasing the front loading Maytag Neptune washer and dryer. We spent $1900.00 on these machines and have had nothing but trouble from them. I will never purchase a Maytag or now, Whirlpool appliance again. As to the rating above, if I could post negative 150 stars I would. I have spent as much in repairs as the new dryer cost.

Maytag MCT Washer & Dryer - I bought the largest capacity to save time. However even my 6ft tall husband has problems reaching the bottom to remove clothes. Even worse is the lack of water to clean clothes, washes so long it wears clothes and they are still dirty. I tried to improve on my old Neptune and Id love to have it back. I may have to junk this washer. The dryer is very slow. Buying this set was tossing my hard earned money in the trash.

I tried to open the door to put clothes in the dryer and got severely shocked by 220 volts. The dryer is only a couple of weeks old. The power cord wasnt crimped and it fell out of the diggings and electrified the entire dryer. I guess we were lucky it didnt burn our house down. I took pictures then I fixed it myself.

I purchased a Neptune washer/dryer front loader. All Neptune washers have basic design flaw over which the company should be sued. Since the bulk of the weight is in the front of the horizontal wash-drum, the entire assembly is suspended by a rear mounted bearing allowing the drum to spin. That bearing assembly is woefully under-designed and not able to support the unequally distributed weight that is inherent in any front load design.Since the forces of gravity cause a loading of the rear bearing on the front of the bearing raceway only, the machine is doomed to catastrophic failure of the entire drum system--and they all do this. When the washer goes into spin mode, it sounds like a jet engine taking off and that is a symptom of the bearing design beginning to fail which begins on the first use of the machine. The cost of the drum assembly/bearing and the labor is far more expensive than buying a new machine and therefore, not worth it. Avoid Maytag products at all costs.

Bought my Maytag washer and dryer as a set in Feb 2011...like many, I did not get the extended warranty, as I thought this was a great brand. Ive had nothing but problems with both. The dryer takes two rounds to dry, the lint filter is wet and rusted. The belt has popped off and needed to be put back on..The washer does not clean very well. Ive replaced the shift actuator because it was not spinning, now it sounds like a turbo jet taking off. And as of a week ago, my washer started leaking underneath. Paid a tech to come look at it and said my motor was done and Im better off buying a new washer and even recommended that I do Not buy Maytag! So I googled Maytag Bravos and seen all the poor reviews and realized I wasnt the only one! My set is 3 years old and its ridiculous that Ive had these issues, as so many has. Extremely disappointed of this brand and I too, will not be buying Maytag ever again!!

I bought this Maytag Dryer in May 23, 2015. I had nothing but problems. I had 4 techs come out and say different reasons why it does not work. I had the vent exhaust clean out. Still not working, the one tech said there was not enough clothes for the dryer to sense it wet. I did a huge load, still doesn’t work. The sensor for the vent keeps popping up and it’s cleaned. I have to pull it out and in to get the signal light out. Cant turn on the machine. It still does not work. I tried contacting Lowe’s, since I bought an additional services plan. They said I have to call every thirty days for three months. That means I have to take my time out of work and wait for a tech for three months to get make a complaint and TRY to get new one. I really disappointed with Maytag and Lowe’s. I have a tech coming out this Monday, 11/23/2015 for another services call. I will never buy at Lowe’s or Maytag again. How many times does a certified tech from Maytag have to come out check a brand new dryer?

I believe the Maytag Bravo washer and dryer was manufactured so the Maytag man would have something to do once again! Buyers Beware! My $800 washer broke down 1 week after warranty costing me $400 to repair!!! Half the cost of a new one... now the dryer is making horrible noises. I fear calling for repair... or should I just buy a new different one?? My last washer and dryer lasted 30 years!!! Bravo certainly did not have all the kinks out of them before marketing them! The cost is to the consumer who trusted the name! You cannot return a 2 year old appliance! The laundromat would have been less costly than this washer and dryer! Maytag should be made to recall these defective machines or at least repair for free. Do not buy!

Now I have to unplug it to get it to start and then again to get it to spin. It hasnt spun on its own since 2015. It just recently wont start on its own. I am 62 now, so I have been a loyal customer because Maytag was a great product. Not anymore since Whirlpool bought them out! You have to call them to schedule a technician and then it can take anywhere from 1 week to 3 depending on when they get the parts because they have to order them, and nobody else can come out to work on it if it is still under warranty! This is so lame and just not right.

We purchased our Maytag 4000 series washer and dryer (Model: MHWE450) in December 2010 from Best Buy. For the first six months or so, we were very happy. We started to notice that the washer was getting a little louder by the month. I checked the level multiple times to be sure that wasnt the issue. Assuming it was just part of how the washer broke in, I just let it go - a bad move! Fourteen months after I purchased the set, the washer flooded all over the floor. I opened the washer and pieces of plastic were all over our clothes. After further inspection, the drain was completely full of the same plastic. I cleaned it all up only to find that the washer tub was so loose that it was banging side to side.I called Maytag to ask for help or suggestions. They basically told me that I was out of warranty and kind of out of luck. I responded that we do a total of four to five loads of clothes per week and that there was no reason that this commercial series washer should have failed after 14 months. They offered a one-time service plus extended service contract. Feeling that I had no choice, I spent almost $400 assuming that I had a fixed washer and a year extra warranty. I was told that someone would be out to look at the washer in three days. Finally, after me pressing and pressing, someone showed up a week later. He put a list together of all of the items that were needed to repair the washer. Two days later, Maytag service calls and says that the washer will be too expensive to repair and they would be giving me a reimbursement for buying a new one. They didnt have an exact amount yet. Two more days later, they finally called me with an offer of around $550 ($250 less than what I paid) based on their research of what I should be able to find one for and directed me to the website. One big catch though - it didnt include the $125 shipping charge. When I called to request for it to be paid as well, they declined with basically a “take it or leave” type of attitude. Not knowing what to do, I called every local appliance store until I found someone that had two in stock. When I went to look at them, I was told that both of the ones that they had were rebuilt because that model Maytag washer had a major issue with the bearing and basically needed to be replaced on all of them.Luckily, I was able to buy the washer and a five-year extended service contract for around $690. So in the end, I paid $799 for the new washer, $400 for a warranty, another $100 to replace the washer, and close to $100 in laundry mat costs for three weeks. I promised everyone that I spoke to with Maytag that I would write a review to share my story and thats why I wrote this. The repair plus warranty is a joke. I like this washer/dryer but will never buy another Maytag appliance again. Next time, I will buy extended service contract from the start.

I purchased this washer in Oct. of 2017. From the beginning, it has not cleaned clothing properly and leaves a white residue on clothing. To get the residue off, I must wash the clothing again or sometimes it will come off in the dryer. The water level is too low to efficiently clean. I thought I would save water getting this but not at the price of multiple washes... What good is that? I am sorry Ive waited so long since I am now past the point of returning this piece of junk.

I purchased a Maytag Washer Bravos Quiet series 300 & a Dryer Bravos Quiet series 400 w/ steam in June 2009 from Lowes. I cant express my dissatisfaction in strong enough language with these products. From the time they were installed there were problems. The Bravos series 300 washer: Quiet? Never. The thing sounds like a huge motor whirring around my laundry room. Several times, a coin got stuck in the motor and created a clanking sound that had to be fixed. Ive never had a washer that allowed coins to enter the motor. I cant close the lid on the washer until the whole unit is dry because of the mold problem. I dont feel the washer really gets clothes clean. When we purchased the unit, the Lowes salesman stressed that we could fit a large bedspread into the oversized tub and get it clean. This didnt turn out to be true. The clothes tangle terribly and the unit is off-balance with any kind of a larger load. Ive been forced to purchase the extended warranty because of the complete & total lack of confidence I have in this awful washer (same goes with the dryer). The Bravos series 400 Dryer: This unit never dries. All the setting that should be used with the sensor never work which causes a huge problem. I start out on a particular setting with a stated time limit say, for instance 45 minutes. 45 minutes later, I look at the dryer and theres 1 hr of time still left to go! The dryer just runs on and on. Ive taken to using only the timed dry and I start out at 1 hr, then check it every 10 minutes or so. This is very hard on the fabrics and has caused the useful life of my clothes to be greatly diminished. Also, the stupid thing will start to beep and I cant figure out why. Using this dryer has increased the electricity costs to us.I cant stress enough to STAY away from these products. I purchased Maytag because of their prior good reputation. That reputation is in tatters now. They should recall this product and replace it with products that actually do what they advertise!

I purchased a Maytag Bravos washer and dryer combo 2.5 years ago. Six months in, I noticed that the washer would always stop halfway through the cycle. We had a repairman come out because it was under warranty and he said it just had to be reset. I then started to become weary of the product. The washer, that is larger than most, is still a problem today. The dryer, the last couple of months, has not dried clothes completely. Today the dryer just stopped. Maytag will rip you off when called for service because the warranty is expired. I have owned old dryers for several years and I am so disappointed with the Maytag product that I will make sure that anyone I know thinking about purchasing a Maytag will buy another brand. The worst washer and dryer I have ever owned.

I purchased my Bravos washer and dryer in about July of 2012. So far I have no complaints about the dryer but I hate the washing machine as do two friends of mine. My husband specifically wanted something energy efficient which is why we didnt purchase the basic traditional style washer weve always used. From the first time I used the washer, I was amazed and disappointed at the noise level. Because the lid is glass, I could observe the water level during each part of the laundry cycle. The water did not cover the laundry in the washer. When I mentioned this to one of my friends, she said that she has to wash some of her clothes twice. How is this energy efficient? I finally figured out that using the heavy duty wash cycle and heavy soil setting usually results in more water but requires an hour to wash and rinse the clothes. The downside is that the heavy duty cycle is too hard on some of my more delicate items so I have to hand wash many more clothes than I did with my old style washer that allowed me to select the water level I wanted. Most recently, when I washed a bulky mattress pad with a few other items, the water level never covered the pad because the load of laundry was so lightweight. At the end of the cycle, parts of the mattress pad were bone dry so I will have to take it to the laundromat if I cannot make the washing machine fill up with water high enough to cover the mattress pad. I dont want to spend the amount of time hand washing so much of my clothing, monitoring the water level in the washing machine and rewashing loads of laundry. After reading many of these comments, it appears that I have many more issues to look forward to. When this washer starts to break down, I will go back to an old style machine and a different brand.

We were excited to finally buy a new wash set and I always wanted the Neptune ones. I had owned a Maytag for 25 years through two children and a mechanic husband. I had every confidence in the new ones and expected at least the same service. Shortly after the warranty went, the machines both started to act up. The washer would stop in the middle of the cycles. The dryer wouldnt come on or wouldnt respond to the commands. We finally contacted the local repairman whom we have used for years. He came and gave us boo-hoos about these machines. He said they were trouble and we should have never have bought them. My husband figured it was the electronics in the control panel. The repairman said the parts would cost somewhere near $500.00 to $600.00 each and proceeded to try to sell us used ones for $2,000.00. We said we would try to get the bad parts and he even gave us the stock numbers? We went online and found new ones for half the price. We bought them and put them in and they persisted in doing the same things as before. Is this a runaround or what? Who is bilking who? Another great American rip-off. What can the public do?

I had a Maytag washer and dryer for over 25 years. I loved them so I replaced them with the Maytag name. They are not the same company as far as pride and product workmanship. From the get go it always had a dirty odor to the tub, as though the clothes had been left in it for days. I was told to just run through a cycle with bleach, but nothing. There is no lint collector and after about 8 years of using this washer, the old lint is in the bottom of my washer after every wash. Now, I have to deal with the thing coming to a screeching stop, not spinning out the water after the wash cycle. Sometimes it’s full of water and other times some water drained, but the clothes are full of water and not spun out.Now tonight, I went downstairs and found water on the floor, it’s leaking. My question is to call and get it repaired or not waste my money and go buy another brand. I may go with the latter.I purchased a fridge and dryer at Home Depot a few years ago. I wanted to stay away from Maytag name. I purchased another name only to find out it is part of Maytag. No wonder I’m having trouble with my fridge, making ghost-like howling sounds so loud it consumes the entire house. So annoying. Stay away from Maytag. They are not the same reliable, take-pride-in-work company.

We bought the highly rated Maytag Bravo washer and dryer in March of 2010. In less than a year, the dryer broke down and the drum drive belt had to be replaced under warranty. Last month the washer drum stopped turning. A & E Factory Service quoted $466.87 to replace the bearing that had failed. We have hated this washer since the day we got it. So, it wasnt hard to buy a Samsung front loader and have the miserable Maytag hauled away to wherever badly designed machines go. Trying to wash clothes using high speed spinning instead of water causes excessive wear on the clothes and the machine as well as tying the clothes in knots. It is one of the worst mechanical designs I have ever seen.

I bought a pair of Maytag washer MVWB700BW and dryer YMEDB700BW in November 2014 from Home Depot and the washer was never washed cleaned from the 1st load! The detergent was stuck to the clothes. I tried different cycles and the result was the same. I called Whirlpool and they sent 2 different technicians to check. I showed the technicians the clothes. They both admitted there was no technical problems but the washer performed badly. The 2nd technician even took pictures and attached to the report he sent back to Whirlpool. Still Whirlpool refused to take back the pair or exchange to another model. I went back to Home Depot. Home Depot said they talked to Whirlpool but Whirlpool refused to refund me. Home Depot finally agreed to take back the pair and allowed me to exchange to another pair of a different brand but I was charged a 15% restocking fee. Whirlpool said the machine was working properly yet it was never even met its basic requirement of a clean load! Still they refused to take this pair back and refund me the money! Purchased a Maytag Bravos XL less than 3 years ago Model MVWB725BW0. We have had several repair calls. From reading complaints from others, I have the same: clothes balloon, clothes rip, dark clothes have a scum on them, even a blanket goes off balance and it is hard to start the cycle. It goes off balance all the time, makes a squeaky sound when agitating and the housekeeper can never figure out what cycle to run the clothes on because they always go off balance, there is a loud vibration, etc. The last repair call was for an actual leak on the floor! The appliance company charged us $95 for the service call, did nothing, and told us the parts would be more expensive than a new washing machine. Went to Home Depot today and purchased an LG washer and dryer for over $1500. I am not even going to try to recoup anything from Maytag because this is the second Maytag that I have had a bad experience with and didnt learn a lesson in the first place. Junk. :(

All I can say is what a mistake. Had a front loader that always smelled and had mold around rubber gasket in door. So, wanted a top loader this time after old GE died. Unbelievable, not enough water to clean clothing. Clothing comes out with some dry spots. And the worse thing is washing black items, tiny particles on black pants, shirts, etc. Think is lint not soap but not sure. You have to rub all over the clothing to try and remove. This washer is 8 months old and I have cleaned it with baking soda and vinegar mixture thinking this would help, it doesnt. The spin cycle sounds like a rocket ship taking off. Lots of banging noises during operation also. I have invested a lot of money thinking Maytag is rated high. It is a pretty grey color with glass top. Well I was fooled, not only the saying looks arent everything for people but its true for washing machines. I have gotten multiple mail from co. wanting me to get extended warranty. Think I will, usually dont, cause I think it wont be reliable. Wish I had my washer from the 70s and 80s. Plain old wringer that got things clean. Just put black pants in dryer on very low heat taken out damp cause I dont dry a lot of my clothing. This seems to have helped to remove stains (soap)/ lint. but, talk about wrinkles, oh boy, this machine has that spin cycle going 100 miles a minute. And if you pick a lower spin speed things come out wet. I actually can say I hate this Maytag Bravo. Things dont come out clean, wrinkles beyond control, very loud. Please folks check out your sites on the internet before buying Maytag.

If I had my way, I would return the washer and dryer and change manufacturers. But it is a stacking unit and I used the washer which commits me to it! Please save your money and do not purchase a the Bravos XL MCT Washer and Dryer! I am sickened by the fact that I spent $1,800 on the biggest pieces of junk there ever was. Youd think a company like Maytag would be able to build a product that worked properly. We are getting ready for our FIFTH visit by a service repair company that will only plug in their computers and say nothing is wrong. Well here is what is wrong: Washer does not rinse all of the soap and I have many, MANY, pieces of dark clothing that are ruined because of the white streaks all over. I have done EVERYTHING the service guys have said to do; use less soap; use the deep water wash cycle, etc. etc. There are only two of us in the household so my average load size fills the EXTRA LARGE drum maybe half full so all their advice hasnt worked. It does not rinse the water out of a load of towels (remember there are only two us so not that many towels) and I have to run it through a rinse and spin cycle. Waste of time, energy, AND money. I washed a single coverlet and had to run it through a rinse and spin cycle twice to get the water out! If you use the bedding cycle, it runs for 90 minutes and still doesnt spin all the water out! The dryer is not better either. On average, it takes one hour and ten minutes to dry 3 bath towels, a couple of hand towels and a wash cloth. One of the service people that came out, checked our dryer vent and said everything was hooked up correctly. Talk about a waste of energy!! I would do anything to get rid of these pieces of junk but we spent so much money on them Im stuck until I win the lotto or something! I cannot stress enough that you will be wasting your money if you buy any washer and/or dryer product from Maytag! Believe me, I regret it every day!

I purchased the Maytag Bravos top load washer and the matching dryer at Home Depot back in 2009 after giving my son my very old Maytag washer and dryer that was running just fine. I liked the top load energy efficiency idea of the new Bravos and the large capacity of both the washer and dryer. Also, the Maytag name sold me, gave me confidence I was purchasing a quality product... WRONG. When it was delivered, there was damage to the dryer door, so a new one was ordered and mailed directly to me. Once it came in, I called to have someone come put it on. First issue, not a really big deal but disappointing.About one month into using the dryer, the top of it became so hot it could literally burn your hand. There was also an error message. I had purchased a one-year warranty, even though technically there is a manufacturers warranty on the product. A part had to be replaced in the panel. This happened twice. We then moved out of state for one year and the washer and dryer stayed in storage unused during that time.Fast forward to 2014 and the washer will not complete any cycle except the spin cycle. I keep getting an error message of OL which means overload. The machine is NOT overloaded. It literally takes me hours to get through one cycle of washing clothes. And they dont even come out clean. I called Maytag repair and they offered me a one-year warranty for $363.75 since the washer is having issues. They explained to me if its the control panel the cost alone for that is $383.00 not including labor. Also, the dryer take forever to dry. I have to run each load through a cycle twice to dry everything. So much for the energy efficiency of these machines. At this point, I am considering just buying another washer, something cheaper without all the fancy bells and whistles. I am terribly disappointed in Maytag.

Would give them 0 Stars if that was an option. Bought a Maytag washer and dryer in Aug 2021. Washer broke Jan 6 2022. Called Maytag/Whirlpool on Jan 6 as it was still under warranty. They only had one service company in our area to work on the washer. I called them and it took them 10 days to come see what is wrong. Ordered parts. Said it would be 2 weeks. We are now 6 weeks into this with no parts. Called customer service and they said they were notified that their service company needed a part and would take another 21 days to resolve. Talked to a supervisor (Demetrius) who sounded like he did NOT want to be in that position. Offered no solution other than we will just have to wait. Threw a 3 month extension for the warranty on which still does not fix the problem. Sad to see this company go down the tubes as it was once a pretty decent business with solid products. No longer.

1. can not get enough water in the Maytag machine to cover the clothes. 2. All of the clothes come out twisted. 3. After watching the machine wash the clothes I notice that agitator did not move all of the clothes down into the water, and that was probably because there was not enough water in the tub. 4. The machine gets out of balance easily and at that time the machine door is locked and you need to push the pause button and wait for it to unlock the door. 5. Its louder than my old Kenmore washer that we have had for 15 years.6. The Maytag dryer does not dry as fast as my old Kenmore dryer that we have had for 15 years.Bottom line is I would not buy another Maytag product. Do your homework.

All I ever heard was Maytag is the best so I purchased the washer/dryer over a year ago and have had nothing but trouble from the get go. It takes an hour and a half to two hours for a wash (if youre lucky). Normally, I almost always have to stop and restart it and move clothes around, babysit it. I cant wash but four or five garments at a time. Its a piece of junk and I tell everyone I talk to, never buy Maytag, ever.

I bought a Maytag washer and dryer in Cookeville TN. In 2018. After a year it quit. The service man from the authorized dealer in Cookeville could not repair it. After numerous calls Maytag sent a service man to repair it, this took about three weeks. This washer is a Maytag industrial, it has a 5 year parts and labor warranty, and 10 years on the motors. Now it is out again, after calling Maytag, and holding on the line for an hour, finally I had to chat with someone, and they set up an appointment for about 3 days. So service company call now and says it will be another week before they can sent someone to look at it, and another week to get the parts. They also questioned my warranty. I gave high dollar for this washer, what’s happened to Maytag?

I purchased the washer and dryer approx 6 or 7 years ago. Out of the gate about a year the pump had to be replaced on the washer- 2010. 1/2012 the tub needed to be replaced, 6/2012 the PUMP needed to be replaced again! Then 2013 the dryer need a new board at the tune of $391.00. And today, yes - yet once again I need a new pump! Over $2,000 in repairs on these awful machines. I called Maytag because I thought maybe they would care - not so much. The rep told me that the Bravos models were discontinued (shocker) but that she could give me a discount on a new comparable version at ONLY $600. How nice! I will use these until they fail again - which according to history - that wont take long and then I will NEVER EVER EVER purchase a Maytag product again. We work hard for our money and continually giving it to a company (for parts) for a product that they failed to make a quality product is not going to happen again! DO NOT BUY MAYTAG. Do your research and give your money to companies that care. MAYTAG should be held accountable and a class action suit should be filed. They need to GET IT and they never will if we sit back and let them take advantage of consumers.

Purchased the Maytag Bravos washer from Home Depot in August of 2011. Today it caught on fire (Sept, 2014). Had problems with it from the start. Some of the issues include the washing machine constantly getting off balance even with small loads, not completely draining the water from clothes resulting in having to run additional spin and drain cycles, and a bad odor coming from the water that stays on the clothes (we even called a plumber thinking it was something with our plumbing). Well today was the best. I started a small load (one twin flat sheet and a pillow case) and about 10 minutes later I smelled a weird burning odor coming from the laundry room. When I opened the door to the room it was filled with smoke. The washer was the only appliance running, otherwise I would have assumed the dryer was the source of the smoke. When I opened the lid to the washer, smoke started pouring out from around the inside drum of the washer. It smelled like burned rubber and ash. Needless to say, I doubt this washer is worth repairing. We actually have had repairs on it previously (twice in the first year) and its just a piece of junk. Glad I was home when the washer caught on fire. I hate to think what would have happened if I had not been able to unplug it and it continued burning. Do Not Buy This Brand. Definitely do not run this washing machine unless you are home to monitor it. Maytag Bravos is a fire risk!!!

I have owned a Maytag gas dryer for 10 years now. I have had to replace the idler and belt 4 times now. This dryer appears to be built as cheaply as humanly possible just to get it past its almost non existent warranty. The replacement parts are even worse. The idler has a bronze bearing in it as a wear item. Really??? Why was this never even considered as a part that could be lubricated at least occasionally?Granted, lots of people do not have any mechanical ability at all and just pay through the nose for a repairman to come to their place for any repair then pay dearly for the service but, I DO have mechanical ability so I do all the work myself. That is why I know firsthand about the terrible manufacturing results and the very cheaply built replacement parts available at outrageous prices.

After everything posted here why would anyone take a chance buying any Whirlpool product including all subsidiaries. I made the mistake of buying a Maytag washer and dryer less than 3 yrs ago. There are only 2 people in the household and we only wash linens, towels and undergarments- the rest goes for dry cleaning. The washer stopped filling with water, similar to what was posted by another customer. Maytag customer service was 2 weeks out. When the service tech arrived he diagnosed the problem as a faulty water value but didn’t have the part- another week. I asked the tech why it takes 2 weeks to get someone out for a service call- he told me that there were 4 techs working the area but 2 quit and they were never replaced. The tech went on to say that he was leaving because of the misdirected grief he gets from customers because “the Whirlpool brand is crap”, it takes to long to get service and usually the cost is more than the appliance is worth- and they take it out on him. That is not hard to understand.Bottom line- IF THE SERVICE TECH IS TELLING YOU THE BRAND IS “CRAP” what else do you need to know. FYI- Maytag repairman quoted a new water valve at $70, labor $150 for a total of $230. I paid $600 for the machine- is this a joke? The exact same part was available on Amazon for $43 and was delivered in a day. With the help of a YouTube video I replaced the part in 10mins. On top of the fact that the appliance is crap, it would have taken 3 weeks to get fixed- Maytag is also screwing customers with overpriced parts that shouldn’t have to be replaced in the first place- fair warning, STAY AWAY.

I purchased this washer in January 2017 at our local Home Depot here in Mexico. It was a washer/dryer combo. Now, in July, a mere 6 months and only a few wash loads later, it has gone from the worst machine I have ever owned to what I consider to be garbage material. First of all, it boasts about not using much water. This is true... Only 1/4 of your load is in the 3 inches of water at the bottom of the machine and the top 3/4 never even gets wet. I couldnt believe it. Now, I put 2 sheets in this morning and it fills almost to the point of spilling out, though I have to give it credit for shutting off the water before it actually did so. This is a NEW washing machine!!! I, along with a lot of other folks from what I am now discovering, are all in the same boat. I remember Maytag being a mark of excellence way back in the day... This is no longer the case. Stay away from this company... I know I will.

Maytag washer, top loader, Bravo series: We purchased Maytag washer and dryer 4 years ago. Last week, the washer started sounding like a 747 was landing in our laundry room. Maytag sent a service representative and informed us that the bearings were faulty and it would cost at least $800 to fix. It is appalling that a 4 year old appliance should fail like this. We will buy a different make and we will never buy any Maytag appliance again. This is such poor quality and worse service. Maytag would only offer a 30-40% off a washer, but only if we bought it directly from them. We can get a better offer from any local store. They also said we could get a discount on the part we need, but not the service. Do not, I repeat, do not buy Maytag anything. You will regret the purchase.

It just as a little water and stuff and will not lock and wash. It never gets the clothes clean and you have to wash them twice or at least a residue on the clothing. I hate this washer and Im very saddened that Maytag will not come out - told me that they had to find someone. There was no one in the area that could fix my washer. It has been nearly a week now and no response from them. Im going to have to buy another washer. I am so upset to spend nearly 800 some dollars on a brand new washing machine and it does not work. I think that was all the complaints that I have seen on this page so somebody needs to put them on the news and also someone needs to start a lawsuit against this company. Shame on you Maytag. Maytag washer MHW5500FW had service just a month after purchase and still a year later the washer has problems spinning using direct drive. Even a few towels are soaked when cycle is done or errors out and must be restarted. Most of the time the washer has to be cycled on spin to remove water from soaked items, not just a simple bath rug, towels, bed sheets. Almost anything has a problem spinning. Had to purchase another year of service coverage as I dont trust the washer will last. Soap dispenser needs to be diluted despite using correct soap, per service tech advice which triggers sensors to shut down. Machine looks good but not ergonomically designed without the stand as you can easily lean over the washer and turn on and off accidentally. Same goes for the matching dryer, also can easily set off the on pause and on/off button. Dryer works great other than that.

Have owned washer and dryer for one year. Liked the styling, basic functions and the manufacturers reputation. Also liked the fact that there was a rebate on the pair. We bought the entry level Maytag pair from Lowes. Lowes delivered the units quickly. Thats the good news. The BAD news is (they) dont tell you when you buy the unit that you have to buy and use special detergents. One of the cycles on the dryer stopped working within ten weeks. But the REAL thing we hate about these is the fact that they are built out of PAPER-THIN METAL. If you push on it hard with one finger you will have a permanent dent. They proudly display American flag stickers on the units proclaiming Made In the USA. They should be more concerned about the quality of their construction. A local appliance salesman told us that twenty years ago (these) appliances would commonly last fifteen to twenty years. Today you are lucky to get five or six years (But then they get to sell you another, and another, and another).

My husband and I purchased a Maytag Bravos washer and matching dryer in November of 2009. At three or four months old, the dryer quit drying and was emitting a weird smell and smoky air coming out of it. It was under warranty so a technician was called. A fan blade inside it had broken. The repairman replaced it and the motor as a precaution. There was absolutely nothing inside it that could have broken the fan blade and I always check pockets. My hoses were clear also. He told me that it looked poorly designed inside for air flow. He made a box out of sheet metal to fit inside it that he said would help it with air flow on the inside. I still have the dryer but I dont like it very much because it still doesnt do a great job of drying. It has to run too long and at too high a heat to dry laundry. The latch on the door broke a few months ago and had to be replaced too. I havent had problems with the washer as of yet. I like the washer and it washes very well but I will not buy a Maytag washer or dryer again. WHIRLPOOL OWNS MAYTAG NOW AND THEIR PRODUCTS ARE ACTUALLY MADE BY WHIRLPOOL SO I WOULDNT TURN TO THEM.

The blanket of lint I removed from the top of the heating element appeared to be charred and black, a fire ready to start in my opinion. I will not have this machine repaired. I use the HE detergent and most time use less than what the load should have. We have soft water and I also use softener. Ive also tried up to 3 extra rinse cycles and a smaller load size and still have soap scum all over. Im sure the light colored loads come out same, just cant see it. Needless to say, very, very upset with this washer. I, too, will never buy another Maytag product, nor will I recommend one. Had our yearly maintenance check the other day and the service man couldnt give me the reason its doing this. So, so disappointed in this product!!

First of all, I had a Maytag for many years and could not have been happier
First of all, I had a Maytag for many years and could not have been happier. When it came time to replace, I did not even consider other brands. I have had my dryer for less than a month and the interior already looks dirty. I contacted Home Depot where I purchased it and reported the problem I was having and would like to return this model and purchase a higher end model assuming that it would not have the same problems. Home Depot said all appliances are special orders and can not be returned. I could contact Maytag and have someone come out and look at it for no charge. I contacted Maytag and they told me that they could have someone come out but if they decided it was just cosmetic, there would be nothing that could be done and I would be charged. I said, I am telling you it is cosmetic! Why would I pay someone to tell me that? The guy suggested I take a damp rag to clean it. I said think about all clothes that are being dried are damp!! I will never buy a Maytag again and will not buy any appliances from Home Depot!

I purchased the Maytag Washer & Dryer $1891.14 with Extended Warranties
I purchased the Maytag Washer & Dryer $1891.14 with Extended Warranties Model numbers: MHW5100DW0 & MED5100DWo. In September 2014 from salesman ** at ABC Warehouse for my Wife as a Wedding Gift. The dryer started malfunctioning toward the end of October, it was randomly flashing a red light indicating Check Lint Screen and when this happens the dryer will lock up not allowing you the OPERATOR to dry your clothing. We ALWAYS check our screen before use and clean after each use, so we found that light to be odd. But anyhow we checked the lint screen and nothing was on it nor was it bent out of shape, everything seemed normal to me & my wife besides the fact we spent $1891.14 on BRAND NEW washer & dryer set thats acting weird. I called ABC Warehouse spoke to **. He said Yeah they do that sometimes, you just gotta MAKE SURE YOU BLOW THOSE THINGS OUT MAN cause they dont like it dirty. I explained to him we keep it clean then he said the screen might be slightly bent. He went on to explain how he seen that happen a lot, I just said uh huh uh huh yeah yeah. So now its like the middle of November and the DRYER Check Lint Screen Light is coming on before every load now and staying on for long periods of time not allowing us to dry our clothing. So I called ** again 2nd week of December this time asking for a new unit. He told me to call the ABC Warehouse Store Warranty Department at 1-800-722-3333. I called and they gave me a number to Master Tech Appliance 1919 Federal Blvd, Ann Arbor, MI 48103 (734) 662-0641. I immediately asked why am I calling technicians instead of new unit when my unit is still under the 1yr factory warranty and in addition too, I have purchased an 5yr extended warranty? They wasnt trying to hear that. So I called Whirlpool 1-800-253-1301 told them the situation and asked for a new unit they said NO and then added by telling me their policies and how many times they can come and attempt to fix my unit before replacing it. I screamed and shouted at them explaining to them that I have spent $1891.14 on a non-working unit for my wife as a wedding gift and I am currently drying my clothes at the local Laundry Mat, they said NO still. So I called Master Tech, they couldnt come out until Feb 3, 2015. My wife took off from work. In the mean time it completely stopped working the first week of January, we had to go to the Laundry Mat every couple days cause we got 4 kids. SMH WOW my wife is pissed, I mean furious. When ** from Master Tech showed up he looked at our unit and said its also not getting hot so he called in to his job they told him to come back and order my parts and to schedule another day to come back. 2 weeks later Master Tech called with the appt. My wife took off from work again but this time they called the day of hours into the day to tell us the parts are on back order and they need to reschedule. My wife was VERY UPSET but we did it anyways. Now remind you are dryer is still out of commission. Were going to the LAUNDRY MAT. Master Tech came 3 days later (my wife took off from work) they literally took our dryer apart (Pics Below) for it to still not work, Master Tech called Whirlpool, Whirlpool told them to order us a NEW SWITCH BOARD. Wow what the hell are you serious? So Master Tech leaves again and orders the SWITCH BOARD. They came 5 days later (My wife took off from work) new switchboard and dryer still not working. Now throughout this whole ordeal Ive been in contact with all 3 companies begging for a new unit and nobody wanted to hear that especially WHIRLPOOL & ABC WAREHOUSE. With Whirlpool knowingly the switchboard didnt fix the issue the first time, they instructed Master Tech back to my home with the same but NEW SWITCHBOARD. LOL WOW I CANT BELIEVE THIS IS HAPPENING TO US. Master Tech schedules yet another day to come by 3-13-2015 & yes my wife took off from work AGAIN just to hear ** say sorry they keep sending me back with the same part and they know its not gonna work but anyhow Im here. He switched out the Switch Board again and still nothing. I called ABC Warehouse and they finally okayed us a new dryer with delivery day of next day, which is today 3-14-2015 and when it arrives THE WHOLE FRONT DOOR IS BENT OFF THE HINGE WOW WOW WOW WOW. Now they say our new will be delivered 3-17-2015 and yes my wife has to take off from work.Updated on April 9, 2015: 3/17/15 ABC Warehouse replaced the 1st broken dryer to only return with another broken dryer, same problem, red check screen light flashing & dryer wont spin. They left here.

I have always loved Maytag but this top load washer is a bust. I purchased this higher dollar energy efficient washing machine to hopefully get the value out of it for years to come. Model MVWC565F. 4.2 Cu Ft. I use good quality liquid laundry detergent. I launder adult clothing (including business casual wear), sheets, towels and pet blankets. Occasionally the 20+ something children do their laundry while home. I often have dry spots on my clothes where they never got actually wet. I switched to only using the deep water cycle; however, this does not immerse the load in water. The smaller my load the less likely to get clean. Ive adapted to only have large loads but I still do not feel my clothes are getting clean. I often have to run the load a second time to not only remove ordinary day-of-wearing smells (very noticeable in socks for example) but to get them all wet and free of soapy/linty-like spots left on the clothes from the washer (most notable on black leggings, dress pants, etc). I always do my towels and bedding separate from daily clothing, so this is not coming from having a mixed load. I have also noticed that the load takes much longer (up to 2 hours) for my washing cycle. How is this energy efficient? It uses less water but more electricity? I miss my old fully-immerse-in-water washing machine that washed in under an hour! Love the dry that I bought with this but not the washing machine!! I do not recommend this washing machine!!
