Along with an LG refrigerator which I have already discussed at the same time, I also bought an LG washer and dryer. All the LG appliances were rated high so we felt they were a smart purchase. Not so. After 2 years, the washing machine needed new bearings with a cost of $700.00 to repair. Now, there are only two of us, no children so we barely use the washing machine. For this machine to work only two years is clearly a manufacturer's defect. The LG engineers are designing these appliances not to last and they don't. I called LG customer service and they could care less about my problem. They basically told me to take a walk. I will never buy anything from LG again.

I purchased one of the first Impeller washer and dryer. The dryer is great, but the washer needed repair immediately. Home Depot refused to exchange the pair, so I will never buy from them again. The washer takes over an hour to complete the wash cycle, has to be set on Bulk in order to get enough water for a decent wash, and is extremely rough on clothing. It's made holes in some of my shirts and everything comes out twisted without enough rinsing. Sleeves are always turned inside out. That's how rough it is. It costs me more in water and electricity. Neither Home Depot nor Maytag would replace the pair for me.

We purchased our Neptune washer and dryer combo MLG2000AWW from Circuit City in 1999 for $1900 also purchased the extended warranty. Here we are 15 years later and time to replace with new Samsung units. Besides having the main bearing replaced after 6 years in service, and having a sensor and a switch replaced on two separate occasions all covered by the warranty, our Neptune provided exceptional service throughout the 15 years. My understanding was that Maytag was bought out and run very poorly in the early 2000's as our unit was produced prior to that time... when Maytag was Maytag.

Extremely poor service on a non-functioning product from day 1. Had numerous service calls dealing directly with FP service techs who failed to diagnose problems. They kept having my techs replace different parts. Took months. Finally sent replacement dryer. Doesn't work that well either. Through with techs. I am moving and am thrilled to leave a year old dryer (replacement) behind.

They last a long time. Don't tear up easy. Big tub. I love this washer. They work great and is quiet too. Got great settings on them. It better than any other brands on the market. They work great and looks great. It gets your clothes cleaner, saves on your light bill. The dryer has a large tub, great settings. Reasonable price. Great warranty. Dries clothes in less than 45 minutes for large load of blue jeans. Only Kmart and Sears sells this brand.

This is the information I tried to send to Whirlpool only to get a message that it was undeliverable: "I purchased a set of whirlpool cabrio washer and dryer on 10-23-2013 (model numbers WTW8540BW, and WED8500BW). On 01-25-15 the washing machine failed to power up just over 2 months out of the standard warranty. This wasn't the low end cheap models. With cash discounts we paid over $1600.00 for the set. After a $70.00 dollar charge to the repairman we are told that the unit has a bad electric control board (part # W10761026). And unfortunately the part is on back order until March 1st, 2015 as of right now. So if and when the repairman gets the part and installs it, I get to pay him an additional $260.00. My family has always been such a dedicated Whirlpool appliance purchaser but this is wrong.Oh I almost forget, now I have to rent a washing machine at a cost of $55.00 per month until mine is repaired. I believed I was purchasing Whirlpool quality. The type of quality that doesn't need an extended warranty because Whirlpool is made to last correct? Please assist me in making this situation right and restore my faith in the quality I was raised with in Whirlpool products."

We did our research years ago and was convinced that LG products were great. I don't care what 'the pros' say on their website. I am here to tell you that I WILL NOT buy another LG product. The washer isn't so bad; only when it says the wash will take 56 minutes - it may be 90 minutes. The dryer is another story. If you are drying something with straps, forget it; it will be ruined. The straps get caught in the vent, twists them and snaps the straps off. Three of wife's items could not be repaired. Then it doesn't dry. When you hit normal (41 minutes and 1/3rd of the time when the vent doesn't twist the clothes), sometimes the clothes will dry and sometimes it won't. I have come to know that reviews may not be accurate. I have been offered money to write a positive review on a car that I test-drove so be wary of reviews by manufacturers.

Never again will I purchase a LG product. I purchased this washing machine August 2016. From day one I had a feeling my clothes were not coming clean. My husband works outside and sometimes have mud on his clothes. I pulled the clothes out the machine and was able to scrape the mud off with my fingernails. I have never experienced anything like this in my life with my old machines. My towels still have normal makeup stains on them. I'm very disappointed. I have to wash the clothes twice each time before putting them in the dryer.
