This unit was actually installed by my aunt. On the winter of 2012, when she installed it. Despite the house, being old and poorly insulated. This powerful furnace still managed to keep the house warm enough. My only regret is that I live so far away. As a result, I will not be able to carry the furnace with me.

I Installed my Armstrong Ultra Series in November 2003. It works well each day from the day I got it installed. It is quite useful, and it always heats the house to desired temperatures during the very cold days and cools to the needed temperature during the scorching days of summer. The unit has not had any repairs all these years, and the fan runs throughout filtering and circulating the air. I could not imagine any better system, and I would highly recommend this model to anyone who wants a top notch gas furnace although the price is a little bit too high.

After having a Goodman furnace installed in my home 7 years ago, I recently had to spend $1000 on repairs. The main blower wheel began to make noise and was found to have cracked welds where the fins attach to the end plate. While the Tech was there he noticed the Combustion Blower was also noisy and dragging. He thought it might last a little longer, but I elected to replace it then as well. Since the furnace was just out of warranty, the cost for the two parts was almost $800. I have seen other complaints regarding Goodman Furnaces and must agree, they are substandard. The initial cost was low, and the unit seems to be efficient, but long term durability is poor. I have heard others say Goodmans are fine for a home you don't intend to keep. Ditto That!

I purchased my home in 2016 and it was built in 1977. This home is ~2,600 sq.ft. and has an unfinished basement. The HVAC system was very dated, and the furnace was likely the original. Using Legacy Heating and Air, Inc., a new full system install was done. The components used are all Daikin (aside from a water heater also replaced), and are the following: DM97MC1005CN (Furnace), DX17VSS421AA (A/C), CAPE4860C4 (Coil), DTST-CWBSA-NI-A (Thermostat). I could immediately feel the difference. There were rooms in the house that weren't getting much or any air adjustments because the old system was simply not a great fit for the house and inefficient. With the current system, I can now cool or heat the house evenly several degrees within minutes. The new thermostat is very slick, and easy to control. I haven't seen the new cost for energy consumption (not billed using new system yet), but from what I can tell is it's going to be a nice difference. Everything is incredibly quiet and I'm very pleased with this investment.

It's getting old explaining to people why their blower motors fail within a year, coils leak within a year, white flakes from aluminum coils comes out of the vents etc. Trane also had a Model of air handler that had drain pans as brittle as egg shells. This isn't just Trane either. We service all makes and most use the same ECM motor, same chinese sourced copper and aluminum for coils, etc. I miss 20 years ago when a service call was a legitimate problem and didn't require an EXCUSE as to why things failed.

My new home has a Rheem RP14 installed. It's terrible. At 32 degrees it produces almost no heat. As a comparison, I lived in a home for over 5 years and had a 2009 model year American Standard base model/builder grade heat pump that performed much better. With the American Standard HP, it would produce heat down to the mid to low 20's before tapping out. At 32 degrees, a heat pump should be producing a decent amount of heat but this Rheem is really bad!!

We purchased a new Carrier heat pump air handler and heat pump, and in just under 2 years it stopped working. The technician came out, and determined the compressor just stopped working, and needed to be replaced. The unit is still under warranty, but of course labor and refrigerant is not covered so the cost to replace it is just over $900.00. We paid $5300.00. I contacted Carrier who said they stand behind the compressor, but they won't pay for labor or refrigerant...nothing. Absolutely useless!! NEVER buy a Carrier! Their equipment is garbage.

I live in the NW and had my old unit replaced 6-2020 with a Goodman unit. The unit ran fine but was air only we have gas heat. So that said it only ran for app. 20 day in 2020. This year as temperatures rose in late June it started running for an additional 7 day then died completely by July 16th. That means this unit actually only lasted new for 37 days of A/C service. If it was a heat pump unit delivering heat that would have likely only lasted 1 month. That cost over 2500.00 for one months usage! No one wants to work on it. Just charge over 200.00 to diagnose the compressor is junk. We are left to suit the dealer who claimed 12 year parts & service extended Warranty on our contract in writing, and buy a real A/C unit that will last.Over 30 days usage. At my last home I sold in 2017 we put in a unit in 1997 upon our purchasing the home. It was a heat pump running all summer & winter. When we sold the home it still ran flawlessly 20 years later! Goodman should cease selling such cheap, undependable garbage to unsuspecting customer by shady dealers.

Our furnace and air conditioner are both Coleman, and they have lasted for ten years. The AC always needs replacement although this is not part of the furnace and we cannot complain about this. The high energy conversion rate as a result of the AFUE high levels makes it the best for me. I have not had any replacements or repairs so far, and I hope I will not have any problems with my furnace. The price is manageable, and I would recommend this to anyone who needs a gas furnace that is not too pricey and works efficiently.

The heat pump function on our 1 and 1/2 year old Carrier unit is not functioning properly. What happens is that when a steady temperature of 68 degrees is set, the unit buzzes and then fails to come on. Then it buzzes again and fails to come on. Then buzzes again and fails to come on. (Repeated on purpose.) Had the installation company come out yesterday morning and they found nothing wrong. The "board" was not fried. They tested all "terminals" and said they were okay. Paid $80 for the visit that did nothing. Like to wake up every minute or so as your heat pump fails? Buy a Carrier unit!
