Product Reviews:

Year 5 and we have had nothing but problems with the unit that was installed Aug 31, 2009. The inside coils had to be replaced after 1year. The Fan Motor control ECM had to be replaced in 2013 - out labor cost of $200. The compressor fan motor had to replaced in Nov 2014 - out Labor cost of $250. They replaced it and 10 minutes later the unit shut down again. Now they are saying that the TXV on the heat pump is causing to short cycle on heat - will again be out Labor of $625. This is a nightmare and all the RHEEM service center says is they are not responsible for labor. WHAT ABOUT putting POOR QUALITY PRODUCT in consumer homes. WARNING to others - RHEEM does not take accountability for bad products.

Four years in, the Rheem Prestige heat/air/heat pump we purchased has been an incredible headache. A dozen service calls and no solution. 5 ton unit will not adequately cool/dehumidify a 5,000 sq ft house. Spent $13k for this system and had to spend a lot more for a whole house dehumidifier. The heat pump has repeatedly shook/vibrated when not on emergency heat. The shaking was at times SEVERE. Now the piece of junk has lost its refrigerant. I am done trying to fix it. While the dealer did his very best, nothing has ever been fixed on this thing. Never, ever will I buy anything from Rheem again. Every aspect of this ownership experience has been god-awful. Stay as far away as you can from Rheem.

We replaced our Amana heat pump, which was undersized, with a Trane. While the Trane works, it is so noisy. It keeps me up at night. It wakes me up at night. I can't hear my tv when it's running. It sounds like a D9 Cat working hard. Trane sends out a rep who says it's within company standards. I'm at my wits end with this Trane heat pump. What can I do. We can't afford another 13000.00 to replace the Trane.

So recently, i purchased a couple Trane air conditioning units for the home. I was downstairs testing the home for the new winter in our new home and noticed that one of our current furnaces that came with the duplex was failing to fire. Not only is this a fire hazard, but it means it could be a cold winter for our upper tenant. I examined both units and they both appeared worn and used and the other one was likely going to fail. I went to Trane.com and found a unit that I really wanted. Ended up with the XL95. They were a little pricey, I'll be honest. But their multi-speed blower, auto mode for the fan motor, and super high efficiency has been amazing so far. We've had them for a few months and Wisconsin is just starting to get cold. I got the home down to 60 degrees and wanted to see how quickly I could get the home warmed up to 70 degrees. Took me 10 minutes to get us there and maintain that temperature. Overall, I am overly satisfied with these units and my tenants will be as well.

We have been very pleased with these infrared heaters. Two of them are constantly in use and the third is used when needed. On the greenhouse side, the heat is kept at just under ten degrees Celsius and then at the store again at 13-14 degrees Celsius, says store manager

We built a new house and the builder installed an Amana heat pump through one of his subcontractors. The Amana contractor/installer did not register the product, nor were we advised that registration on our part was required. We have all documentation of the purchase. A part in the heat pump failed and Amana (Goodman Manufacturing) would NOT stand by the warranty, because we had not formally registered the product with them. Amana (Goodman Manufacturing) would not accept the paid invoices to the builder as proof of purchase. This is very shabby business practice and the manufacturer's way of legally not honoring the warranty. I contacted Julicia ** at Amana (Goodman Manufacturing), and she was rigid/inflexible re: my issue.

I purchased a Rheem 4 ton heat pump in Aug 2015. I've had a service contract since I purchased it. Last October I had to add freon to the unit when serviced. Now I have a complete leak of the system. They say it could $1000. repair even with parts covered. They don't cover any labor even though I kept service contract on unit. This unit is three years old and faulty. Don't buy a Rheem.

I had a Carrier ac unit installed in my new home in 2016. I have regular scheduled maintenance every 6 months. Today at my maintenance visit I was charged $523.25 because of a bad TXV valve. My unit is currently off as I am waiting for the part. After paying almost $5200 for the unit and air handler I should not have to be replacing defective parts. I would not recommend Carrier products.

I hired a very able company and had them remove my 12-year-old Rheem furnace. I paid $2500 for a Tempstar-Heil single stage N9MSE furnace for use with propane. I've only had the unit for a few weeks but so far it's working perfectly, keeping my home within one degree of thermostat settings. It's possibly a bit quieter than the Rheem but I'm not sure any single stage unit can be non-intrusive when they run. Bottom line is that for $2500 installed I'm happy, and with the warranty this home should be warm for many winters to comeā€¦I hope.

My new home has a Rheem RP14 installed. It's terrible. At 32 degrees it produces almost no heat. As a comparison, I lived in a home for over 5 years and had a 2009 model year American Standard base model/builder grade heat pump that performed much better. With the American Standard HP, it would produce heat down to the mid to low 20's before tapping out. At 32 degrees, a heat pump should be producing a decent amount of heat but this Rheem is really bad!!
