I wanted a small stove that did what a large/standard stove could do. I was worried that the heat would be weak but it cooks my food amazingly well. This stove has all the bling of a simple stove for a smaller price and size for my tiny house.

Dishwasher Model MDB7749SBM1 - When I returned home from work today, I noticed the cancel drain button was on and the unit was continuing to try and drain but the dishes were not clean and the cascade pod was still inside the unit unused. I then proceeded to run another cycle to clean the dishes and what happened next simply amazed me. I pressed the jet clean button, tough scrub and 2 hour delay button and thought I was all set but the start/resume button would not engage or light up at all and subsequently the cancel/drain button lit up and the unit started draining. Now the control lock and start/resume button just flashes intermittently and wont disengage. I purchased my unit along with several other new Maytag appliances when I renovated my kitchen. I guess the microwave, stove and refrigerator is next -- unit are only 29 months old. Any assistance will be greatly appreciated. Im in deep ish I guess.

My four year old Maytag stove blew out the lower heating element in the oven. The model number is MER8880AW. I removed seven small screws to confirm what the problem was and remove the element. That is a short life span for a stove element. My wife checked our paperwork and thought it indicate the part was covered on the 10 year warranty. Called Maytag at 9 AM and went through the press numbers thing, being put on hold, call dropped, told they were not open twice, etc. Finally got a person to talk to at 2:45 pm. Yes the part is covered under warranty, but no they will not give me the part.A repairman must plug it in and put the seven screws back in. This will cost me a lot more than the $50 the part cost me at the local appliance store. 10 year warranty. Wow, WORTHLESS! There WILL NEVER BE another Maytag or Whirlpool in my house. Making a big deal out of their warranty when they are going to soak you bad for a simple install is just plain dishonest.

In April 17, 2015, I purchased another Maytag microwave but wanted the convection oven too from Home Depot. The convection fan quit working in January 2017. I called Maytag to ask how this was covered. Maytag only has 1 year warranty on parts and labor. So basically if you dont buy an extended warranty, you are stuck with a product that quits working. Apparently, Maytags work is only good for 1 year or they would have a longer warranty. I told the Rep this when I spoke to him. He told me they normally last 5-7 years. Wow, still not acceptable. He said I had two options. Maytag could send out a repairman and it would cost almost $300. The other option was just as ridiculous. I told him I paid almost $500 to start with and it only lasted 21 months. Of course he said if I had bought extended warranty it would have helped. If I paid $500 for an oven, why should I have to pay more to cover their bad workmanship?!! I am very disappointed in the quality and price of this convection oven. The bad thing is I bought all new Maytag stainless steel appliances in 2016 to match the convection oven. The products I replaced had been in my home for 12 years with no problems.

I purchased this relatively expensive range and could not have imagined how dissatisfied I would be. The Aqualift cleaning technology does not work. There is no way to clean the oven door. They stress not to use oven cleaner, but as the Aqualift system does nothing to clean the oven door, there is no choice but to use oven cleaner, which they say will ruin the oven coating. Also, the grates are very heavy and it is impractical to clean the range top. I wish I had researched further; this product is a MAJOR disappointment.

We purchased the Maytag over the range microwave December 2014. Three months after installing it the door cracked. Maytag did replace the door and the repairman thought it might be due to the heat from the stove (huh, it was designed to go over the stove, where there will be heat). Now, six months after that, the layers of plastic on the door are separating and the piece around the control panel is cracked. Maytag agreed to replace the control panel but refuse to replace the door as it is only cosmetic (their words). So much for paying a little extra for what we thought would be a quality product. It seems to me that if something was made to go over the stove, it should be made to withstand the heat.

Seven years ago when we bought a new house, we bought all new appliances, Maytag Washer and Dryer, because they were suppose to be extra good and sturdy, what a joke. For the past four or five years, I have had to replace the lock on the door of the washer, which means Im without a washer for a week. Since no one stocks the parts because it is such a joke, some repair places wont even consider repairing a Neptune. Seems like since the company stopped making them because of the problems they have, as a minimum they should replace all Neptune washers that have been sold with a reliable washer, front loading in the same price range. I will never buy another Maytag product and will be sure to tell everyone I know not to buy them either.

I purchased a Maytag over the range microwave a couple of years ago when I had my kitchen remodeled. I have had it repaired twice already. Each time, it cost over $150. I bought this product with confidence that it was a quality product. To say the least, I am very disappointed and I will never buy this brand again. My previous microwave lasted over 15 years without a single problem. The only reason that I got rid of it was to have matching appliances. It was not a Maytag. I am looking to buy a new microwave and I will be sure to look at the reviews to prevent being suckered again!

I purchased Maytag Washer and Dryer 3-4 years ago, upgraded to the premium washer and dryer, SS drums and have been dissatisfied from the start. The washer was extremely noisy; we were told this was normal. The dryer began making strange noises just outside the warranty period, and the belt and pulley had to be replaced. I was shocked at the cheapness of the pulley design, but the replacement part was of better quality. The washer began making a horrendous squeak shortly afterwards, again, outside the warranty period. The repairman said that they were all like that, Maytag used inferior transmissions and that it would be cheaper to replace the washer than repairing it. My mother had the same experience with a similar model. Needless to say, I will never purchase another Maytag product. FYI, there are only three people in our household, all adults, light duty use.

Was assured the washer could do comforters, etc. Well, I took a video of the washer doing 5 t-shirt, 1 pair of pants, and 3 pairs of socks on the power wash cycle. Nothing tumbled. All the plate did was swish some water around on the bottom. Clothes werent clean at all. Check my Youtube video, and you can watch the leg of the pair of pants sticking up out of the water and never getting back down in to get wet. Horrible horrible machine. With that said, called the company I bought it from, and they arranged for a front loader since Id only had the machine for a couple hours. Stuck me for a second delivery fee though, which I wasnt happy about. Well see when the new one gets here Tuesday.

A week ago, after purchasing groceries, and made it home. The Refrigerator had gone out. I tried calling Maytag without success and broke down and called sears repair to come out. Well they made it today, and I was informed the Compressor had gone out, and would cost me $998.00 to repair. Of course I told him to get out of my home, because at that price I could purchase a new one. And you can bet it want be a Maytag ever again. I am so disappointed in their claims of being the best. I purchased a Maytag Dishwasher (MDB7749AWW1) just over a year ago from Sears. I did not get an extended warranty since the appliance wasnt over $1,000 and I thought I would take my chances. Sure enough, about one month after the warranty expired, it all falls apart. There is something wrong with the control panel and I cant get anything to work. Ive been looking online and see that this is a common problem. So rather than throw more dough into the money pit, Im purchasing a new, simple, uncomplicated GE Americana washer from Home Depot for $279. I figure this will cost me less than going through the repair dance with Sears and Maytag. I will never purchase an appliance from Sears again. Ive been through the mill already with a $2,000 Jenn-Air range that has broken down five times in the past three years (2 times it was the control panel). I was lucky that I purchased the 5 year extended warranty on that one, but never, ever again will I deal with Sears.

I purchased two Maytag appliances; PC-touch control 500 Electric Smoothtop and a dishwasher. In less than two years, I have spent over $1,000.00 repairing these two appliances. With my stove, I have replaced the PC control board and the oven light kit. Less than a year and a half, I now need to replace the PC control board again. I have been a Maytag customer since 1976. The dishwasher had a recall for the heat element and I replaced the control panel control board and door lock switch and the main control board. I will never buy Maytag again.

We purchased this double-oven range (model: MGT8775XW01) about 5-6 years ago. It came with some slight bubbling on the plate that the control knobs go through/are mounted onto. A few years later, the bubbling paint began to chip/peel off - revealing rust (its a white range). I bought some touch-up paint, but that didnt look very good. Now that entire plate is bubbling and peeling and makes the whole range look like crap. My wife swears well never buy another Maytag product...EVER! Shes ripped! I cant seem to find the replacement part to purchase. Lousy products!

Maytag stove MGR7662WW - I purchased this stove about 4 years ago. Now, the stove will not light. I called in to Maytag only to be told I must pay a service fee or purchase a repair manual. It’s very strange. My old Kenmore lasted 22 years and here I thought Maytag would at least last 10 years less than half the life of my old stove, realizing products today are not what they used to be. Maytag, the dependability people, I guess that old Maytag commercial where the Maytag repairman is so bored claiming no one needs service for a Maytag product is really false advertising. Buy American products; I’m not really sure who is the current country who is home to the great Maytag corporation. I guess me and my wife will spend another $700 on another brand stove and try this process all over again, hopefully not again in approx 4 years.

I had a stove my mom bought for me 26 years ago. Still worked perfect. Used constantly. In 2018 my husband had to have this stove. Said no my stove my mom bought and still works perfect sentimental plus three children using it. Not one problem. So he buys this Maytag stove I didn’t like but don’t cook much warming things up or frozen pizza. Go to our sons for holidays. Always next day cook a turkey for sandwiches. Open the door which is too heavy. Wouldn’t close and called my husband. Got it semi closed. Said we’re not eating it. He proceeds to cook. Door opened. More turkey is in garbage. My husband started reading. I also did. Looks like these Maytag stoves are garbage. Make a lot of money for repairs. Now this goes to dump. No one stands behind their products. Is it worth paying to repair no.

Machine (Washing machine front loader model # MHW 5500 FC1) purchased Augus
Machine (Washing machine front loader model # MHW 5500 FC1) purchased August 2017. From the start Service Dept USA told me to unplug and re-plug anytime I had a problem as this problem started right away right after installation. In January it was getting stuck on the spin cycle. Unplug and re-plug to no avail. MAYTAG DO NOT have their own technicians just so you know. In the my area they use two subcontractors. In January they sent out the first sub-contractor from Appliance Wizards. He is a one man operation I later found out. As soon as he saw that I had a stacked washer and dryer he told me that this was my problem. He pushed a bunch of buttons on the machine, obviously re-setting the motherboard in a different way than unplug and re-plug and told me that there was nothing wrong with my machine. Not true. Machine was getting stuck again. Called Whirlpool service USA again. Told them not to send the same company. This time they sent JC Service. Excellent company. Kyle came out, identified that it was the motherboard. He claimed that they had other consumers with the same problem but that MAYTAG has corrected the problem and he went ahead and ordered a new motherboard. Waited 8 days and Kyle and another serviceman came and installed the new motherboard two days ago. Yesterday I put in my first load and the whole machine went dead. Kyle came again. He claims it is the motherboard again and he ordered a new one. I called Whirlpool service USA and spoke to Tina. All I wanted them to do is to ship my now, third motherboard quickly by courier so that I would not have to wait another 8 days without a washer. Her resolution was to extend my warranty by 6 months. I advised her that I had purchased a 4 year warranty but if they did not fix it so I can use it, even a ten year warranty would be of no use. So then she went and started reciting THEIR RULE OF LAW with regards to their protocol and told me that if needed they will replace my motherboard as many times as needed. She would not address sending the motherboard quickly. I asked for a supervisor several times and finally she agreed to put me through to the supervisor. She was worst than Tina. She agreed to check with the parts department and if possible she would ship it out by courier. I asked her to keep me on hold while she checked. She came back saying that they were not answering and that IN FACT they could not ship it out expeditiously. So, IN OTHER WORDS, SHE WAS LYING TO ME TO GET ME OFF HER LINE!!!! I asked her to give me the e-mail address of the EXECUTIVE OFFICE for Whirlpool. She claimed that she did not have their e-mail address and that the only way to communicate with them was by snail mail. I checked the internet and found a telephone number for the Executive office in Mississauga. I called them. The menu asked to push 5 for... get this... CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE... I pushed 5, followed by a bunch of beeps and a busy signal and disconnect. I tried 3 times. So there you go. This is their way of giving you a Customer Experience. Then I found a number for the Executive office in the USA. I was able to reach Latisha from the executive team and she assured me that if I were a USA resident she would have that motherboard shipped to be by courier right away. Because I am in Canada she was going to contact them to give me a call but that now I had to wait till Monday. 4 days to get back to me from Canada. Yet when it comes to service and parts, everything is arranged in the USA and everything comes from the USA because it is more cost effective for them. Who cares about the consumer. By then the motherboard will have left three days to arrive. 7 days take away 4 equals 3, take away a day for courier, depending on what time they call me on Monday, otherwise you have to take away two days, and then it will be all for nothing. But again, they must have so many complaints at the EXECUTIVE LEVEL, that they cannot call right away. So folks, note that Whirlpool has not recalled these machines with a defective motherboard, they are still selling them to unsuspecting consumers. They are not making an effort to send them out quickly or keep some in stock locally. BUT THE WORST OF ALL IS THAT THEY ARE REPLACING THE DEFECTIVE MOTHERBOARDS WITH OTHER DEFECTIVE MOTHERBOARDS!!!! This is outrageous!!!! I shall update my review once I hear from the very busy executive office for client care, and again once the new motherboard goes in. I shall post my order number and receipt when I update this review as my husband has all this and he is away. However I can give a work order number from service: **.

I bought a Maytag Bravos Quiet Series 300 washer just over two years ago from Home Depot. The control board and sensor went out last week. The service technician seemed rather surprised that a newer machine would have that kind of non-wear-and-tear problem and suggested that I contact Maytag/Whirlpool to see if they could help offset the parts costs, as the repair was going to cost over $600! The customer service agent I spoke with said that there was nothing they could do because the item did not have an extended warranty. I explained to her that we purchased this unit, even though it was out of our price range, because we were told that it would last a lifetime. I would have been happy if it would have just lasted 5 years! She was very detached and it was clear that Maytag/Whirlpool was not going to stand behind their product. I will now take the repair money and go buy a new washer. You can be sure that it absolutely will not have the Maytag/Whirlpool brand!

Ive been a Maytag consumer since 1980. I bought washer, dryer, refrigerator and a smooth top oven. I replaced the washer and dryer with the Bravos series on November 22, 2011. Everything was fine until 6 weeks ago. The bearing went bad under the drum. 2 techs and 2 weeks later, at the cost of $527 and change spent on repair for a $650.00 machine, I started to look into reviews. Not! Can you say class action lawsuit! The fine gentlemen informed me 5 years ago about the Canada buyout, a local retailer that only sold Maytags. He shut his doors due to the fact that he will not work on junk! Oh well, he was right. 13 months worth of use and Im going to spend that kind of money. I purchased this range from a Maytag outlet in Nov. 2006. No problems with it until Nov 2015. The oven igniter failed. This was serviced locally and replaced in an efficient manner by the local service tech. All is good until 2 days later when I decided it is time for an oven cleaning cycle. I set the cycle for Medium Soil (3hrs). After the conclusion of the clean cycle, the oven (bake) would not work. Called Maytag service, the service tech replaced burned up oven wiring as well as the igniter again. However, the cleaning cycle had taken out the gas safety valve control as well. I am now told there is no replacement oven gas safety valve unit available anywhere. I even called Maytags 1-800 number and searched online only to find the part on backorder and not available.I find this particularly frustrating in light that I spent over $1200 on a Maytag product I thought would bring way more than 9 years of service before it is deemed unrepairable. The average gas range lifetime is 18 years. In my opinion, not a good return for the investment. Its a shame because the rest of the range works and looks fine, which is now destined for the dump. I am replacing the Maytag with a $550. Frigidaire with manual cleaning. Will never buy another Maytag appliance or a self cleaning oven again. If the self cleaning feature has the potential to fry the controls, why would they offer such a feature, or why couldnt they warn one of the potential failure.

Updated on 02/13/2021: Maytag stove purchased 15 years ago for about $500. Replaced mother board about 5 years ago which wasnt cheap, but otherwise, stove has performed with no problems and still looks and behaves like a new stove.Original review: Our 6-7 year old well cared for Maytag range oven recently stopped working. After a service call for diagnostics, it was determined the electronic module controlling the clock and all oven functions was dead. We were told by the Maytag service tech the module cost was 300$. That cost plus labor for less than an hour, plus the 60$ diagnostic visit came to almost 500$ which is close to cost of a new stove. The technician answered yes to my question, Do you replace a lot of these? He also said the cause may be power fluctuations making me think that surely there is a way to prevent this kind of failure. So, since the price seemed exorbitant, I wrote Maytag to inquire about causation/prevention, etc. I received a fairly prompt and polite reply with totally no explanation. I wrote another email with relatively the same results. I dont recommend buying an electronically controlled Maytag stove.

Maytag wall oven Model# MEW7530AB01 - We ordered this oven from Home Depot on Aug. 28/13. It was delivered on Sept.7/13. After a self clean cycle, the oven failed on Sept. 24/13. It was repaired on Oct. 23/13. Parts come from U.S. Im in Canada. Part # W10545255. It hadnt cleaned completely so I used the self clean mode again on Oct. 24/13. Oven failed. Fixed again on Nov. 15/13. Same part. Tested self clean again. Oven failed. Repairman fixed a different part. Thermostat #4449751. Oven still not working, had to order the front fuse again. Part # W10545255. Fixed Nov.19/13. Failed again Nov. 19/13. After not having a working oven for so long, Maytag finally agreed to send a new one. It arrived Dec.5/13. Tried cleaning cycle just to make sure. Oven failed. Same part. Called Maytag, told them I just wanted my money back. They refused. They would only repair. I agreed to have a repairman from another company come out. I told Maytag what part it was. They sent the repairman out on Dec. 19/13 with the wrong part. I called Home Depot a second time. I had called them after I talked to Maytag. This time Home Depot said they would take back the oven once it was repaired and I could have a store credit towards another brand. The repairman fixed the oven on Jan.9/14. Home Depot picked up the oven and replaced it with a GE and I love it.The part failing is a fuse in the top of the oven right at the front. Both repairman noted that a lot of heat is in this area during a self clean. When two ovens are having the same problem, I come to the conclusion that it is a design flaw and should be recalled. I only talked to one person at Maytag who was polite on the phone. That was the woman that got me the new oven. Everyone else was rude and hostile. I was even asked why I would clean a new oven. My experience was not a pleasant one at all. I wont be buying any products made buy the Whirlpool Corp. again.

My 2.5 year old hood range microwave stopped heating. I called repair guy, he charged $115.00 for barely a half hour and said he tightened a part and it should be fine OR the part would need to be replaced. Guess what!... That night microwave is still not heating anything. Dinos Appliance Repair is responsible to repair but Maytag doesnt stand behind its product. How do I get my money back when a repair doesnt repair anything? I wont buy Maytag again or GE.

My Maytag Bravos washer is 3 years and 7 months old. While not in use the lid lock motor shorted and caused the control board to fail. No lights on the control panel. Without an extended warranty I called a repairman and the above diagnoses was the result. The estimated cost of repair was $600.00 plus, this includes the lid lock switch and the control board. Might as well buy a new washer instead of paying that much. I called Maytag and complained. The first person I talked to offered me a one year warranty plus the repair of my machine for $345.55 which was less than the repair estimate, sounded good. They set me up with an appliance repair in the area and I said ok. Next I checked the appliance repair on the BBB site and didnt like what I saw, so I called Maytag and told them to cancel the appointment and they suggested I try another appliance repair. I was told I had to talk the warranty company to arrange for a new repair facility. I talked to the warranty company and they agreed to change repairers and I choose the one that gave me the diagnoses. While we talked I told them that the repairman I choose was here and gave me the diagnoses that I was complaining about. The warranty company said they could not warrant a washer that had been looked at and diagnosed. They canceled my warranty and said they would refund my money. The only thing left to do is buy a new washer. Not a Maytag this time. For those of you who are in the market for a new washer and dryer (had trouble here also) I would advise you to read the complaints and I believe the majority of them. Not too long ago there were full page ad in our Sunday paper touting the merits of owning a Maytag product. One thing you cant do is advertise quality when it is not in the product.

Maytag Glass top model #MER8600DHO. I bought it because it got good consumer reviews. This is supposed to be a self clean oven but the steam system in this model is not very effective. It doesnt clean the oven. Would never buy a range again with this oven cleaning system. I wanted to try a glass top stove but wish I hadnt. It is harder to clean and the glass scratches. I really dont like the self clean oven system in this stove - it flat out doesnt work and it takes a lot of elbow grease to clean the oven. The oven however seems true to temperature and does a good job. Overall I am Ok with this stove but wouldnt purchase a glass top again.

I am a long time Maytag customer and its great to have all my appliances back.

Approx four months ago we got new stainless steel Maytag fridge, stove and dishwasher. Terrible, terrible, terrible. The dishwasher rack was broken, and the parts are plastic and hardly any room on the racks. The fridge had the wrong hinges and doors on them. We have been waiting for four months to have them replaced. Today we checked with Maytag and still not coming. The fridge makes a very loud humming noise it almost shakes the floor. This was some sort of compressor problem. Now the fridge is having problems with the freezer. It is freezing up with frost everywhere. The stove is terrible. I waited an extra month to get a convection oven which I have had before and this one is terrible. The double oven is a great feature if they work. They take forever to heat and if you do anything with the food you have reset the temperature? The top is the worst for cooking as the only one that works fast is the boost but then it slows down and you have a hard time cooking the food. The black top is very very hard to clean. I have owned a Maytag washer and dryer for the last 34 years. They have been excellent. Since Whirlpool took over Maytag they seem to have run the name into the ground and all the good service and products they had built up are now ruined. I told my neighbor a few years ago to buy a Maytag washer and dryer and they did. They have had nothing but trouble and are now having to buy new ones but not Maytag. It is a shame that with all the technology that Maytag has built up over the years is now gone. If you look at all the terrible reviews I dont think Whirlpool will be in business much longer with products and service like this. I still have a fifties fridge for pop and beer and it is the best fridge ever with no problems and my last fridge in my garage, that I replaced with this Maytag is still better than this new fridge. The service man that came to fix the fridge said we had to build in the fridge to keep the noise down. How come they never had problems with Maytag products years ago. I feel its all about the almighty dollar. They only last a few years and you have to buy expensive warranty. If you made them properly you would not need warranty and they would last for years like before. If anyone knows if there is a class action suit against these companies let me know since all of us should not be ripped off and costing us time and money.

Purchased a Maytag microwave/range hood in 2005. So yes, it is almost 10 years old but should the handle break off in ones hand? I would say poor material is the culprit. No use contacting the company by the looks of it... they dont stand by their product. Warranty says 10 years but broken handle would likely be cosmetic...

Why is no one doing anything about the crappy product that Maytag is puttin
Why is no one doing anything about the crappy product that Maytag is putting out. I am a single mom of 4 and I had to purchase a new refrigerator about 3 years ago. Spent a lot of money on this Maytag, approx. $1400 and it is now useless. I had nothing but issues with it from the time I got it. The bottom freezer kept icing up and then leaking all over my kitchen floor. I had to call a repair guy out, who charged arm and a leg and said it was fixed and 3 months later it was doing the same thing. Since I could not afford to pay ridiculous amount of money to repair it again (although I question what they said they fixed), I had to chop up the ice each month and take huge pieces outside and i had to keep towels always at the bottom of my fridge (yes very attractive) but it ruined my floor and carpet. Now all of a sudden the piece of junk just shut off and stopped working and keeps making this popping noise. Lights went out in front panel. So I had to call a service guy out again but this time I called an independent local guy that is not gonna rape you in charges like Maytag does and he told me to look into this that he has heard so many complaints that the front board with control button has been known to blow out the back circuit board, which is what happened. He told me that parts are MDs, so he would have to get another manufacturer and he heard that even with replacing both of them, it has been known to not work and Maytag takes NO responsibility at all for any of this. THIS IS WRONG. I cant afford to spend around $800 to now fix this or another $1,400 to buy a new one. So I am without a refrigerator. What a nightmare. MAYTAG, TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOUR CRAPPY PRODUCT. We are hard working people that spend our money and expect a good product. I also have an oven I bought and I can tell you it is a piece of crap too. I swear at it all of the time, as it takes forever to cook anything and the outside that is supposed to be stainless steel is all yoked up. It is like a tin can, looks horrible. I will never ever buy another Maytag product and I hope that ConsumerAffairs steps in and does something about this.

From the beginning, the blower motor (for the control panel? never needed one before) was too noisy. I just bought the oven from Lowe’s. They sent out a repairman. He replaced the motor, but has exactly the same level of noise. It is bad design/engineering. Im going to try some other brand. One problem is that you cant listen to the fan noise before you buy the oven and install it. And there are no decibel requirements or ratings. Industry regulations need improvement. I have had this problem a couple of times. I also have had the problem where the panel will not recognize anything I put in. I have to pull stove out of the small slot it is in, unplug and then push back. Not easy. I was the one that told contractor which Maytag range I wanted because I felt it was a good product. By rinsing again, it can redistribute to be out of balance. Repairmen (w/ extra warranty) said you cant wash bath mats, bedspreads or pillows though it had giant capacity! They would charge me if I called again about it (3 strikes). So bought a used Kenmore with no computer panel... Its great! We bought this range (model MER8700DS 1) March 25, 2015. Manual states when you use the oven first few times odor or smoke may happen and is normal. It also tells you this is not harmful but remove birds to another room because the fumes can kill them. Noxious fumes? Forget about the birds! Had to open up the whole house and go outside. Burned my eyes, throat and lungs. Day after day, repeatedly turned temp up to 400 trying to burn off what we thought might be a coating. No luck.Maytag got very concerned when I explained about the noxious fumes and had someone come out right away. Tech took it apart. He removed bottom (screwed in) plate that covers the bottom heating element. That plate gives the added ability to have 3 racks and make full use of the 6.3 cubic ft. capacity. Under the plate we found bits of insulation. We think that is what we smelt as it burnt up. He couldnt smell anything when he had it up to 400. So off he went thinking problem solved. Well, it still stinks. We will have Home Depot take it back. Oven takes forever to come to temp which we read in many complaints but thought thats minor. Dont know what oven to get instead since Whirlpool makes so many brand names. And other brands all seem to have their own problems.

We purchased a Maytag Front Load Washer in April 2011. We did not purchase an extended warranty. From the beginning, it didnt seem to clean as well as our 12 year old top load Whirlpool had. Then in Summer 2013 it began to create fabric pulls in fine fabrics - tablecloths, blouses, etc. Whirlpool sent a repairman who charged $90 to tell us that the drum needed to be replaced because of a rough spot. He ordered a new drum and we understood that it would be replaced because it was within the 5 year manufacturers warranty on drums, but we would have to pay for installation. 2 months later, Whirlpool informed us they could not supply the new drum. Why are replacement parts not available for a 2 year old machine? The customer service rep told me that they would replace the machine for 15 percent of the cost of a new machine. All I needed to do would be to pick out a machine and let customer service know the model number and they would make arrangements and contact me re: payment of the 15%. When I contacted them again I was told that I would be expected to pay $508.00. That is 15% of a $3000.00 machine. It it completely unfair. Later, I was told that the first rep I spoke to must have been wrong because they dont pro rate replacements on a percentage basis. I told them that I was not interested and they have lost a good Whirlpool customer. In the last 15 years we have purchased 7 appliances made by Whirlpool. Never again! I am not impressed by their customer service.

I can see by the comments on this page that the letter I sent to Whirlpool was in vain. I purchased a Maytag double oven gas range (MGT8775XW00) from our local Lowes. We were remodeling a home we had purchased. Unfortunately (as anyone whos been involved in home remodeling/renovation knows well), it took much longer than I thought it would before range could be installed. It was several months later before it was installed. First time I tried to use the top oven, it would heat to set temp (I assume) and then shut down. The larger bottom oven had erratic heating. I tried adjusting oven temps but it was a guessing game. We had Fix-Rite Corp out twice and they were puzzled by the problem. Two times, they replaced the control panel. After the second repair, it was decided the only thing to fix the kitchen was a complete gutting, new cabinets and floor. The oven was pulled out before I had a chance to use it again. By the time we got the kitchen finished and range reinstalled, I discovered the oven still had the same problems and the broiler would ignite sometimes and when it did, the flame would go out after 30 to 60 seconds and would not come back on. By this time, we were past the one-year warranty. After the first repair did not work, I tried to get Lowes to take it back and assured them I would purchase another range from them. They said they could not do that. Now I can see Im going to end up buying another range. Be assured it wont be Maytag and it wont be Lowes. I also own and use Maytag washer and dryer.

I have a major complaint with the Maytag double oven design. With the smaller oven above, if you spill any liquid while taking something out of the top oven, the liquid drips down between the two panes of glass on the lower oven door. This makes it impossible to clean. Maytags reply - call a service rep and have him make a house call and take the door apart for you and clean it. Not warranty work so I would have to do this every few months. Also, when baking in the upper oven, cakes and cookies tend to overcook on the bottom as the dishes are so close to the element.

I am fairly happy with this ranges performance. I do have a couple of issue
I am fairly happy with this ranges performance. I do have a couple of issues on the design. I would like to be able to simmer at a lower temp on a front burner, as I use a large stock pot and a pressure canner occasionally. The smaller BTU burners are on the back and the large pots do not fit over them. I havent noticed any problems with the upper ovens performance...seems to do what I ask it to, including the broiler. I have not tried the lower oven or the convection feature at all yet. Nor have I had to use the self-cleaning feature, yet...almost afraid to after reading other peoples nightmares, though. My biggest concern is the lack of safety with the knobs on the front of the stove top. Several times, the gas has been turned on by my cat simply walking across the front of the stove and stepping on a knob. This allows gas to leak until I notice. It happened again early this morning just before 4:00 am. I was awakened by a smell, which I thought was a dead mouse somewhere (we live in the country in a 100 year old house - mice do get in, thus the cats). I searched the whole house, looking for a dead mouse, until I finally walked into the kitchen and heard the hissing from the stove. Im glad I didnt try to light a candle while I was still thinking dead mouse! After turning off the gas and removing all of the knobs, I opened all the windows to let the house air out. I SHOULD NOT have to remove the knobs every time my stove is not being used! You do have to depress the knobs slightly to ignite the burners, but its too easy. Obviously, the simple act of a little cat putting its paw on the knob is enough to open the gas. This is a serious flaw that could kill someone! Something needs to be done to correct this before someone is killed or a house full of propane or natural gas is ignited and explodes!!! I will be reporting this to Maytag and hope that they will voluntarily issue a recall to have this problem fixed...Wish me luck.

We purchased our double free standing gas range about 6 years ago. Our top oven went out about 4 years after purchase. We purchased the extended warranty from Sears and it was fixed at no charge. About a year later, the top oven would not work again. We called Sears, our warranty was up so it would be a repair that we would have to pay for. We decided to go with the Maytag repair service since it is a Maytag appliance and we had to pay anyway. The repairman came in and said that the top box that holds the electronic in it had fried wires and it would have to be replaced. So for $480, he could replace it. It was more than likely caused by a power surge. I just read that this also coincidentally happened to someone else so I find this cause to ask more questions. I also note that the top of the oven behind the burners where there is some sort of vent gets extremely hot (I accidentally touched it and had a blister the next day) when the oven is being operated. This is directly under the box that holds the electronic components. I would think that may have something to do with the wires frying since it is that hot directly below the panel. Could this be a defect in the building of the stove? Has anyone else had this instance beside the one person that I read about on your website?

We (family of 2) purchased our Maytag Bravo XL Washing Machine Model#MVWB88
We (family of 2) purchased our Maytag Bravo XL Washing Machine Model#MVWB880BW in Nov. 2013 for over $700.00. Last week, Dec. 2019, the washer would not finish the rinse/spin cycle. The clothes were still wet. I researched troubleshooting in the Maytag booklet included with the machine and tried everything. It still showed an OL on the readout. It was not overloaded as I only had 3 towels, 3 washcloths, and 3 hand towels in the washer. I tried just the rinse/spin cycle alone to get the water out of the clothes, but they remained wet, and the OH still appeared on the machine. When I called the place where we bought it, they suggested unplugging it, waiting and plugging it back into the outlet to possibly reset the machine. That seemed to work for 1 very small washload. The next day, I tried washing again and the OH appeared with the clothes still being wet. We had a repair person come out. The service call/diagnostic of $116.98 plus repairs of $304.41 plus $95.00 to install of the new Motor Control Board. I feel that cost is excessive for only 6 years of service. Before we bought this machine in 2013, I had a Maytag which lasted over 20 years with NO problems. I always thought Maytag was the best washer, but this experience has proven to change my mind. We went out and bought another washer rather than replacing the board not knowing how long the new one would last. Needless to say, we did not buy another Maytag. I do not feel I can trust the Maytag products anymore. After this experience, I did more research on the Direct Drive used in this particular model washing machine and found that it had been problematic. I would have thought Maytag would have offered a recall to avoid these costs/problems and avoid dissatisfied customers. Along with the original purchase of the Maytag washer in 2013, we did buy the matching dryer and are hoping the dryer will last longer than the washer. We shall see.... This has been an unexpected and expensive lesson.

Wow! I wished I had reviewed this page before purchasing a Maytag. We bought a new Maytag Range (#MGR5751BDD) from Menards in March 2008. Within a couple of months, we were out of a stove. I was lighting the burner to make dinner for my family (it is a gas range) and all the burners started making a clicking noise and they caught on fire. Luckily, my husband was nearby and took the fire extinguisher to it.We thought for sure that the house was going to be gone. We contacted Maytag and they had a guy come out (wasnt the friendliest and cted like he could care less). He stated there was wiring that was bad but because we took the fire extinguisher to it we probably voided the warranty. What? He would submit a report to Maytag.Maytag reluctantly gave us some money but not near enough to cover the stove that was only a couple of months old. Now, I cant use the new range that is 2.5 years old. It pops and spurts because the regulator needs to be replaced. The bad thing is by the time we pay for a repairman and the new part, it will cost us a lot of money we cant afford. This stinks.

Purchased this Whirlpool made Maytag Stainless Steel dishwasher Feb 2013. By Jan 2017 the washer was no longer operational. Due to poor factory design the touch pad wiring harness was crushed during the initial assembly. The harness is routed behind the touch pad/pull handle faceplate in the door. The factory design provided no clearance for the harness. Obviously after little use (opening and closing of the door) the pinched portion of the harness behind the pull handle becomes compromised causing the ELECTRICAL SHORT.I phoned Whirlpool the maker of the Maytag Stainless Steel Dishwasher for assistance, all they offered was a repair plan in excess of $300.00. I purchased this supposedly quality American Made Whirlpool product as well as a range, microwave, washer and dryer in the spirit of supporting US labor. Now Im stuck with a dishwasher that has an ELECTRICAL SHORT, possibly a FIRE HAZARD and Whirlpool trying to milk me for more money. My oven smelled for weeks after being installed. The first time I self cleaned, the oven stopped working and the door remained locked. It took weeks to get it repaired because we needed a part that had to be ordered. The second time we self cleaned, the oven smoked, set off smoke alarm that had to be disconnected, the control panel bulged, and the door locked. It was Sunday. I wrote a nasty email to Maytag. The service man who came Monday could not unlock the door, and said he had to order a part and would return the next Tuesday if the part arrived.Next, I had warranty issues. I had to get a copy of the purchase receipt from Home Depot to prove that the oven was still in warranty. Out of the blue, my phone rings on Thursday and it was Joe ** from Maytag in Michigan. He had read my email, said he was sorry for all the problems, and if I did not mind waiting 2 to 3 weeks, he would send me a brand new oven, would have it installed, and would have the old oven sent back for inspection. I did not mind (although there is only so many things that can be grilled or you can bake in a toaster oven). Three weeks later, I have my newly-installed new oven with its new, year-long warranty. I need Maytag to replace my stove because I am afraid this will burn my house down. I bought Maytag because they always advertise as quality product, and now I have to live with the nightmare of burning my house down.

My $1,500 Maytag double oven Gemini has been trouble from the get go. 1st, trying to broil something cannot be adjusted. It sits 3 to 4 from the fire & there is no 2nd shelf. The control knobs sit on top of the stove & its easy to burn them when cooking. The broiler has always smelled like its leaking gas. Plus, the bottom oven stopped working & we had to get it repaired. The last straw was when the control board went out. We arent even going to try to repair, just going to buy a new stove. No Maytag!

I just off the phone with Maytag and as expected the acted like they didnt know about the issue of fires and etc. Im a senior and also a widow. I have all Maytag appliances. But not anymore! My Maytag over the range microwave model number MMV4250AAW, would not shut off when I had it set to 1 minute on reheat. I unplugged it and now it wont come on at all even though the cord still has power. Dont buy Maytag! Maybe if they get messages from consumers, they might be interested in what we have to say.

Model MDB4949SDZ0. 7/10/2018 Purchased from Costco. 7/23/2018 Installed by company arranged by Costco. 6/18/2019 A burning smell was coming from front control panel area of dishwasher when it was turned on. 6/25/2019 & 7/3/2019 Repair technician came to fix but could not find anything wrong so burning smell continued whenever dishwasher was one hour into cycle. 7/12/2019 Repair tech changed out front control panel because burning smell was still coming from handle area. 8/9/2019 Dishwasher does not drain completely when wash cycle is complete. Sometimes there is sudsy water left, sometimes it is clear. The water level is above the heating element at bottom of dishwasher. We only run the machine 2-3 times a week and have been using different cycles to see if the draining issue is with one cycle or all of them. No matter which cycle is used, water remains at the bottom of the dishwasher above the heating element. This seems like way too much residual water. Repair technician is scheduled to come for the 4th time to look at dishwasher but we just received a message that we will have to pay $129 service fee because dishwasher is now out of warranty. Maytag, fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Therefore, know that we will not be purchasing a Maytag product ever again.

In a way, l feel fortunate and you will read why in a minute. l have been reading Maytag complaints specifically looking to see if what happened to me has happened to others. Apparently, it has. We purchased our Maytag range, model MER57750AB, in 2005. We too have had some repairs done under warranty. Unfortunately, we live in a day and age where technology isnt always our friend. The old appliances that were not electronically driven lasted forever; todays appliances do not. However, when something with potentially serious consequences happens that is not technology related, it rates in the who is the idiot who designed that? category. I am talking about the exploding exterior glass oven doors. Two weeks ago, the oven door handle on our range came unscrewed on one side. I continued using the appliance, planning on repairing it myself when l found the time. (I used to tinker around the garage with my dad when I was little and therefore, I have great repair skills in several areas.) Last week, I was standing in front of the stove when all of a sudden, the glass panel dropped from the door! It landed straight up on the floor and fell forward so the top edge of the glass landed on my toes (the toes that I had surgery on for six hammertoes last November and are still sore!). Needless to say, l was shocked that this happened, and even more so, I was grateful that it did not break or either of my two grandbabies were around at the time. Then, I looked at the glass and saw that it was attached to the door using only eight small pieces of double sided sticky mounting foam. I mean small! As I said before, idiot! Did they not think that the heat from the oven would eventually wear out the ability of the tape to do its job? I gave up reading after I found enough complaints about the mishaps with the glass on the oven doors to realize that there is a definite problem here. I did not see where the glass fell intact, as mine did. Therefore, I am suggesting that the exploding glass panels more than likely gave way, as mine did, and shattered when they hit the floor. Should there be a product recall for this? Absolutely! The question is how does a recall get put in motion? As others have stated, this could have been a horrible disaster had little ones been around. I pray that doesnt happen to anyone.

The middle piece of glass on my four-year-old gas oven shattered. It was not being used, but when I called Maytag, they told me that that was not covered because I did not have an extended warranty, and that I can purchase a new oven door and would have to pay the service person. I hope they go out of business. Maytag stinks, and everyone should know this.

Like so many other consumers, I was drawn to the Maytag name because of what I thought was the high quality of their products and their stellar reputation. So when our old wall-mount oven failed, I sought out a replacement from the Maytag line. I purchased a model MEW5530WDDB17 in 2011 and had it professionally installed. It worked well for a couple of years. Then, suddenly, three of the numbers on the digital control panel stopped working, making it impossible to set the oven to any temperature that included a 4, a 2 or a 5. When I contacted Maytag, I was informed that the unit was out of warranty, but that I could schedule a service call. I had already researched this issue online and knew that the service person would inform me that I needed a new control board and that one could be installed for around $300, and that the new board would come with a 90 day warranty. When I asked the person to whom I was speaking, she said that she had no further information for me. I know that a lot of others have had this same issue with their Maytag range/ovens, and many of them agree with me that we will never purchase another Maytag product.

I bought a Maytag dishwasher, stove and refrigerator and the dishwasher was a problem from the beginning. Repaired out twice and replaced the control panel. Seasonal residence, so the start of year 2 (this week) the control panel goes a third time. Its going to cost $387 to repair (told my elderly mother) and it turns out it was a warranty program that she purchased, not a repair estimate. She was misled as she called Maytag and they transferred her to a warranty company, and once again Maytag says theres nothing they will do. Now, Im hassled with cancelling that as well. I called Maytag and they dont stand behind their lemon of a product and said there is nothing they can do because its out of warranty (even though theyve been out twice to fix it). Do not buy a Maytag product. This is the first complaint Ive every written and I am just shocked that Maytag doesnt stand behind their product. Im informing 100s of people to not purchase Maytag and they will pass along my negative experience as well, for that, I am sure.

I remodeled my kitchen last year. I purchased a stove, a dishwasher and a built-in microwave. Two days ago, I was trying to cook rice in the microwave. I changed the heat to 50% to cook the rice, started to cook and I heard this awful noise like a shot gun went off in the kitchen but the microwave was still going, I opened the microwave door and then I turned on the microwave again. At that time, it started to rattle on top of the microwave and shorted out. Black smoke was come out and I saw fire coming from the same area on the right upper corner. I got up on a step that I have and blew away the flames which were not big but if I were not in the kitchen, it may have caused a fire. I got the microwave from Lowes. Since it is almost to the year that I bought this microwave, they offered to replace it at no cost to me. Im getting the same model but Im purchasing the 2-year warranty just in case. I was told by the Lowes salesperson that this was unusual and should not happen again. We will see; its very dangerous. I had microwaves that lasted more than 10 years and had no problems. Maytag, where are you building your appliances and what about your product reliability? If I knew this site before I bought my appliances, I would not have purchased Maytag.

Dual oven - one is a convection oven. Never used the bottom drawer so that was wasted on previous range. I purchased a white appliance to match my others. The white stove top is a pain. Too bad it wasnt black. I checked this model online and found a good price in the city. I contacted the local Home Depot and they did a price match less 10% - all a bonus. The ovens work great although I have not tried the self clean. I have read that similar models have problems related to the self clean feature - high heat and circuit boards. My plan is to have a fan directed at the top of the stove when I use it and the range hood fan going. The convection oven is great - hard to mess up a recipe with that. The dual ovens are truly a great feature - strongly recommend. The keep warm is great also - nice to have two things cooking at the same time. That being said - the bottom oven is low, but that is worth the extra cooking space.

Our Maytag oven (not sure model) in the first year started doing crazy things with the oven computer. The oven would shut off and come back on and the display would be garbled. Also when my girlfriend tried to pull the turkey out, the rack fell off the left side and dumped all the juices into the oven. She almost got burned and there was a lot of smoke. The freakin rack should never fall off! Also our dishwasher is on its second control board. I lived by Mr. Maytag and his airplanes/helicopters at Crest airpark in Covington, WA. I wish I still did. Id like to ask him what he thinks of his crappy products. You get nothing for your money anymore. Im not sure but Ill bet both of my problems with these products have something to do with saving a buck by making this crap in Mexico or some other *** hole. Im just glad Maytag doesnt make airplanes or medical equipment.

The wheels broke off inside the dishwasher on the racks inside and the outside of the white dishwasher is rusting worse than 1959 Edsel. 3.5 years old. Broken and rusty. I called and emailed Maytag customer service and all they say is it’s out of warranty and they’re sorry. Things break I get it but if they said on the box when I purchased it that it would rust in 3.5 years I would have looked at and purchased another brand. This oven has been used so very seldom that I didnt feel I could rate it until now. We use the oven 1-2 times a week since purchasing it in March of 2018. There hadnt been any reason to use the Self Cleaning part of the oven until last week. I have had a oven with self-cleaning for 20 years and the oven went out so we purchased this one because of its sleek look and features. However last week I decided to use the self-cleaning setting on it and came home after being gone all day to find that the house smelled like it had a fire burning in it. I ran to the oven to find the whole inside cover in a white powdery substance. It looked like a snow blizzard had gone on inside of it. I was use to a small amount of white residue being inside the oven after it finished and it just wiped right up. We spent hours vacuuming it out then scrubbing it down with vinegar water and a sponge with a scouring pad on it. The casserole spill was still on the bottom, most of the enamel is gone and the glass will not clean off. I did not use any chemicals in the oven prior to turning it to the self-clean mode, I believe that it overheated and burnt the enamel off and distorted the glass. Whirlpool offered to send me a cleaning kit. I told them that would do no good. I had already scrubbed and used a razor blade to try and clean the bottom and the glass and them sending me different cleaning supplies would not fix the fact that 80% of the inside protective coating on the oven is gone. Now it is a porous surface. A Serviceman was scheduled and he called prior to arrival today and asked me to explain what was going on with my oven. I explained and he said I can almost guarantee that Whirlpool will say that it is cosmetic and they only cover cosmetic for 3 months and that I will have to pay for a $100.00 service call. This is a load of crap. This coating is part of the oven to keep it clean and protect the metal from the high heat of baking in it. This is not cosmetic feature like the outside stainless steel finish or the black trim decor. The inside doesnt look pretty. It is a function. See the photos below. Whirlpool Range Item # 805150. Model # WEE510S0FS.

Bought new in 2006. From the beginning it shook a little. I could not use high speed without leaning against it and pulling upward on the unit. Maytag service workers came out and at first said they needed to balance it. That was not it. Then they said it was the drawers that I purchased as an option. Finally, one guy just straight up said they had no answer for it. Then came the day, last month, it was spinning and suddenly it started to rock and I ducked out because I thought the tub was coming through. I seen smoke. Yelled for the kids to get outside. With the phone in one hand calling the fire dept, I ran for the electric box & started throwing switches. Fire dept said that is what saved my house. Now it sits in my dining area because of a lawsuit I was never contacted about. No parts are available. Thats what happened when Maytag chose to send the business to China. Now they are back to making them in the USA but why would I buy again from a company that does not make good? Well I love blogging and Facebooking. I know 40% of Central FL because Ive lived here 60 years, plus my husband serve all of Orange County 35 years. This review will go out all over. Anyone need a tall table?

I bought 4 appliances - stove, refrigerator, dishwasher and microwave. Just after 1 year, our dishwasher stopped working. Serviceman said it was the motherboard. I had to talk with a supervisor in customer service to get it covered and found that it was only a switch that was bad. Next, our ice maker overflowed with water, causing damage to our new hardwood floor. Again, I had to talk with a supervisor to get this covered and I did not file a claim for the floor. Then, our stove shut down. Repairman found that a wire was shoved into the top box, causing them to be exposed and shorting out the system. Now 2 years and 4 months, our microwave is not heating and I have to call for service. This was a brand-new kitchen that was remodeled and all appliances were new.I am very disgusted with Maytag products and their attitude of We are sorry, but there is nothing we can do as the warranty has expired. It used to be 3-year warranties for Maytag products until they were bought out. Never will I buy their products again. Maytag model #MDB6949SC, purchased Feb 22, 2015. In early May plastic parts from the top rack wheel assembly broke. Assembly unit replaced at no cost through the 1 year warranty. (cost = time and effort to arrange replacement with repair person). Same parts broke again in November - replaced at no cost again under warranty. Warranty expires in two months. If past performance indicates future performance, this part will need replacing twice a year at ~$140 per visit or $280 per year. Not a good thing. Called Whirlpool and with several calls and emails. They offered an extension of a year on the warranty. I think using plastic for this wheel assembly unit is a design flaw. Would not recommend this dishwasher.

I bought this washer (Maytag HE) almost a year ago, and if I could redo my choice, I would not choose this machine. There is no separate spin cycle. Often items are left with quite a bit of water in at the end of the wash cycle (often literally dripping as you transfer to the dryer), and you cant just rearrange them in the washer and then spin again. The only option on the washer is to both rinse and spin, which almost never helps get out more water. So you then have a heavy load in the dryer, much longer dryer time, and higher utility bills to get some loads dry, especially bath towels, sheets, jeans, etc. The washer is large capacity, but if you fill it more than 1/2 to 2/3 full (depending on the heaviness of your items) the spin cycle definitely will not get nearly enough water out of the clothes. The lid on the washer is SLOPED!The most ridiculous design I have ever seen for a washer, everything you set on top, even for a moment - laundry detergent, folded clothes, wet clothes - ends up on the floor. And the lack of agitator means at the end of the cycle, some loads that contain a sheet or any large flat item (tablecloth, etc.) the rest of the items are captured below the larger flat item that is over them like a mushroom cap. You cant tell how long the items have been like that in the washer, but its hard to imagine they are getting properly cleaned and rinsed. You absolutely cannot use powder stain removers, especially OxiClean, unless you are using the oxi cycle (much longer than regular cycle) because with any other cycle you will have white cloudy patches on all your clothes and items where the powder dissolved in the water but did not rinse out. You have to manually scrub them out, as putting these items through another wash cycle does not remove all the spots.

I purchased a Maytag gas range after remodeling my kitchen. I thought I was getting a good product, boy was I wrong. The ceramic gas grates are so slippery that pots tend to slide off but the real problem is that the racks inside the oven fall when you place pots on them. I tried cooking a Thanksgiving turkey in it and the racks fell to the bottom of the oven. It appears that the top rack and the bottom rack are the only two that stay in place. And it also appears that when the oven is on, the sides of the oven expand so that the racks fall. I have tried to contact Sears as thats where it was purchased to no avail. I will now attempt to contact Maytag directly but it appears that I will also not get anywhere there. I have read at least one other complaint of this exact same type happening to someone else. This is very dangerous. Do they really want a lawsuit?

According to Maytags manual Odors and smoke are normal when the oven is used the first few times... Exposure to the fumes may result in death of certain birds. What about humans? I had serious respiratory problems and the industrial-level fumes lingered after dozens of uses. Neither the upper nor the lower ovens are calibrated. Upper oven baked at 325 when digital readout said 350. Lower oven had to be set to 365 to cook at 350. (After several puzzling baking disasters I bought an oven thermometer.) YOU are supposed to calibrate it yourself with cryptic instructions and a lot of trial and error.

I bought a Maytag 4452BDW stove, the more button is not working. I did my research and was not happy to see this is a common and reoccurring issue with Maytag Stoves. The expensive of the part that too often fails again along with the cost of the service man to repair it places the Maytag as low quality at a high price. I am hoping to see a company that stands behind its product by addressing this correctly and promptly. It would be a pleasure to have my faith restored as it should be by Maytag.

I purchased a Maytag Gemini April 22 2017 and I am very unhappy with it. The ovens are not working properly. I have thrown away so much food because the ovens won’t hold temperature. The display says it’s the temp. I set it but the temp keeps dropping and rising causing the bottom and top to burn and inside not to cook. Both ovens are doing it. Had a repairman come day before Christmas. He said there is nothing wrong. He said set temp, when preheat beep goes off wait 15 minutes for it to cycle then insert food. I tried this Christmas Day. Oven is still not working and again I threw away more food. I am so disappointed in Maytag. Serviceman is set up again to come out next week. I think I got a lemon. Please. I think they should replace the whole range. It’s not fair. I paid so much for this range and can’t use it.

We bought a Maytag gas range in Feb of 2011. Shortly after that, we started having an intermittent problem with the oven not maintaining the temperature. It sometimes would not heat up to the proper temp or sometimes would get there but not maintain it. We have had several service calls all for this same problem. Each time they would replace things... nothing worked! We called Maytag and they said they wouldnt replace the unit until the same part had failed 3 times. Well, the service company came out 5-6 different times in the first year and replacing the main panel twice and the sensor and some other thingies I dont even remember. Pretty soon the warranty was running out, so I bought an extended warranty due to the fact that the unit had never been fixed. They sent out two different service companies who also were unable to fix the unit. It is now 18 months since we bought it, and Maytag refuses to do anything since it is out of warranty and the extended warranty company will only replace the unit up to 75% of its cost. So yes, we are very angry with Maytag and the way they wont stand behind their product and their total disregard for their customers.

I have Maytag Model MGT8885XS03 Gas Range. I bought it in 2014. The surface burner valves, which regulate the gas flow, are a bad design. One valve got stuck and needed replacement within warranty. Then another valve got stuck about a year ago and the third one got stuck about a month ago. I am going to replace these two valves now. My friend, who is helping me replace, has similar gas range. He also needs to replace a valve. His range is about a year old.

I bought all new Maytag appliances for a new house built 2 years ago. The oven fan, while in warranty, began coming on in the middle of the night. It would turn on, cancel, began not working, and then the ticking noise began. Maytag sent 5 different service people out, sometimes without the part. We are afraid to use it now and have turned off the breaker for it. Now, it is turning itself back on again. Maytag says we must now pay for any repairs/service calls as it is out of warranty. It was not out of warranty when all these troubles began.I called Maytag customer service today and could not have talked to a less customer friendly person. She didnt care that it was in warranty when the trouble began. It is out now and is our problem. There is no one else but her we can talk to about it. She is the decision maker. What experiences has anyone had with trying to call the president of Whirlpool, or filing a small claims court action? Any help is appreciated. Who is going to cook our Thanksgiving turkey?
