This is the 3rd time my Maytag refrigerator has gone out on me and its only 7 years old! Its always the same thing, my refrigerator side starts getting warmer and warmer while the freezer starts forming crystallized ice. Both times its broken down in the past it has been the defrost timer. One service man said Maytag is not the reliable company it used to be and I would be better off buying a brand from Sears (Whirlpool or Kenmore) cant remember. Anyway, each of those services was close to $300 and now Im faced with another service call. We paid $2,800 for a refrigerator we thought would last decades. Well never buy Maytag again! I wish Maytag would own up to its cheap parts and send replacements to its customers with instructions on how to install!

I love the way it can really handle large loads. The dryer is the best though. It actually dries your load without you having to turn it on more. There are many different choices that handle drying. So, no more to the bone drying.

I have owned this washer for three years and the smell in the entire area of my home is getting unbearable. I have used vinegar, clorox, and washer cleaner and I always leave the door open when the washer is not in use. My other complaint is that even a small amount of bleach cannot be used on clothes without causing bleach stains because it runs directly on the clothes before enough water is in the washer. The receptacle for softener also does not dispense the softener properly. I am very disappointed in this machine.

This is was my first time experience to purchase Maytag Bravos XL (MWWB835DW) 5.3-cu High Efficiency Washer. I need it fast replacement to my front loader Samsung washer as it was recalled and had mold issues. I was looking for a High Efficient and Star Energy digital, glass top reliable machine. I may say that I was fooled by advertisement and promotion from the Advertisement and promotion from Home Depot. I did not know much about Maytag Brand but I was convinced by sales person and price promotion. Big Mistake! Huge! I am extremely dissatisfied with this washer, it doesn’t use enough water to cover the clothes! No matter which cycle you use, the clothes don’t come clean.I wash and re-wash my clothes and ending up paying huge water and electric bills as I have to use deep hot water wash each time and after rewash again! Not so High Efficient! After using this machine for just over 6 month all my white expensive towels turned gray and all my whites is no longer white. This washer ruin my clothes. Another problem that this machine doesn’t have small load quick wash and if you have a small load it will go through 50 minutes cycle and I still need another wash after all! If I would wash my king size comforter I still have to do it twice and it does NOT rinse all the water out! I thought I can do big load but this machine cannot handle big loads! My laundry days became a nightmare! I would not call this machine High Efficient at all! Company does bogus advertisement just to fool and attract consumers. This is terrible washer which make me think how possibly this machine is on the market and allowed to be sold? I did not notice problem till very late and I missed my 90 days return policy. Now I have to find another replacement. What a waste of money! I do not recommend this machine to my enemy. Please read reviews before buying this horrible machine. Do not miss your 90 days policy returns. Save your water and electric bills by avoiding Bravos XL. I am hoping that Consumer Protection will step in and evaluate numbers of complaints and will help those who were fooled and ripped off by such a false advertisement.

Maytag washer not draining properly. Called Aug 15 for help. First tech in on August 23, makes a diagnosis, orders part; no news, I call, am given Sep 15 as next date. Come 9/15, I take off from work, only to find out tech cannot come that day, to reschedule. Next tech comes 9/25 with a different diagnosis and different part to order. By October 3, an announcement that part came in, to make an appointment. By now, its been a month and a half, I am so angry. I call a friend, who fixes it in 15 minutes by simply clearing a clogged drain filter. This is unacceptable: the inordinate wait, incompetent techs, unresponsiveness from customer service. I cancelled my contract with Maytag Warranty/AIG.

New Maytag double oven installed by contractor in my house 18 months ago. I have had a few problems with it. The problem I am having today, the panel says error detected, remove from power source. I have had this problem a couple of times. I also have had the problem where the panel will not recognize anything I put in. I have to pull stove out of the small slot it is in, unplug and then push back. Not easy. I was the one that told contractor which Maytag range I wanted because I felt it was a good product. Problems from day one. This double oven/with range cost a pretty penny and I really cant afford a new one.

The same 2 parts used the first 2 times were ordered again and I was told that Maytag could not get them again. The service and parts are supposed to be guaranteed for 3 months. Yesterday I was using my washer (small load of clothes), I was with my baby in the laundry room when suddenly there was a horrible noise and the door of the washer opened, he hit my back, something fatal could have happened. I do not know how it happened but a piece of concrete was inside the drum. I do not want to imagine what would have happened if that piece came out and hurt my baby. I spoke to the company and explained what had happened to me, but they do not want to be responsible for what happened because the washer is in Tijuana (border with San Diego), I bought the washer in Pirch San Diego California in 2015. Maytag United States is responsible for this defect. Dont buy this model:mhw8100dc extra large capacity washer with steam and powerwash® system-4.5 cu. Ft.

I purchased a Maytag Bravos XL washing machine in December 2019. The machine started badly malfunctioning in November 2020. By the time I called for service, they told me the 12-month warranty had expired and I needed a new control board put in for $529! I called Maytag and they agreed to replace the board free of charge, but I had to pay $120 for the service call. They replaced the board, and the new board is faulty. The machine will not fill with water, it wont lock, and now it wont even start. This machine is a LEMON!Now they are saying the soonest they can get a tech out is 1/29/21. Meanwhile, I have a mountain of laundry piling up in my laundry room because I havent had a working washing machine for almost a month. I called to complain and demanded either a refund or a new machine--they will do neither. I used to buy Maytag because of the name, dependability, and customer service. No wonder they were bought by Whirlpool. I WILL NEVER BUY MAYTAG OR WHIRLPOOL AGAIN. I should have looked at all the 1-star ratings online. BUYER BEWARE!

I purchased a Neptune set in the late 90s when they first came on the market. I remember my delight - after the first use my clothes looked like new. Most impressive was I never needed to iron anything. Incredible. After 20 years of maintenance free operation, I finally decided they were getting too loud and was afraid theyd break down and spill water. Of course, I bought the latest version of Neptune again. What a disappointment. These machines are terrible. My clothes come out a wadded up, wrinkled mess. I have tried every recommendation in the book - the wrinkle free, the steam fresh, you name it. I have never ironed more iron free clothes before. Its added hours a week to my chores and we all look a frumpled mess. I really regret my choice. Strange that I cant wait for these new machines to break down so I can justify a do-over.

I purchased a french door Maytag refrigerator in Dec. 2009. We have never had decent ice. Icemaker is in the door and the seal does not keep the ice cavity cold enough. After many, many service calls and a replacement refrigerator, I was told to dump the ice twice a week and get ice out of the dispenser all day long. Really? All day long? It is model #bmft2771web1. They will not take care of this problem. It is a defect but they will not take responsibility for it. I now have a problem with my Maytag double oven! The temp on the bottom oven is 25 to 50 degrees off. I am waiting for my dishwasher and microwave to be next. I will never buy another Maytag. Buyer beware. I have to buy my ice from 7-Eleven. Thats why I bought a $ 2,100 refrigerator, so I can get my ice elsewhere!

JADE model RJRS4270. Had this model for 10 years with more than 10 service calls. Always breaking down and Whirlpool will not honor the warranty. Paid for an extended warranty service to Maytag/Whirlpool offered by the manufacturer. When unit broke Whirlpools warranty service provider Assurance said Whirlpool no longer provides the parts needed, sorry can’t honor the extended warranty you had paid for, no parts, and no refund. The evaporator drip tray had been replaced three times. Asked to have the unit replaced. Whirlpool was absolutely disrespectful and only offered me to the option to buy another discounted $8K unit for a with ~ $2K discount. So far approx. $6K unit + approx. $1K extended warranty (not honored) + approx. $1K parts and service out of my pocket (Whirlpool continued to tell me it was not warranted). Although the operator’s manual said it was covered. While under warranty Whirlpool doesnt have replacement parts to service it. Multiple service tech are telling me there are many known issues with this unit. Found out there’s class action law for the same issues Im experiencing. Whirlpool only offered a new unit at approx. $6K. So total for me to date if I choose to take the discounted unit would be $12K. Dont buy this unless you have a good lawyer. Hardly seems reasonable. Ive only had my Maytag Bravos XL Washer for two years and I HATE it. It constantly gets off balance during the rinse and spin cycle. What should take 30 minutes takes triple the amount of time. My washer is in the basement and I constantly have to run up and down the steps to readjust the clothes in the washer. Ive started to just stand by the washer now during the rinse and spin cycle. What a waste of time. I would not recommend this washer to anyone. Also, it does an awful job of rinsing out the detergent and softener. All of my dark colored pants have detergent and softener residue on them after they come out of the washer. Ridiculous!

Its suppose to be high efficiency... conserve water and energy. I have to use 3 times the amount of water and energy because it doesnt wash the first time correctly. Leaves soap in clothes, just doesnt wash properly. I have done EVERYTHING they have recommended NOTHING works! I will NEVER buy another product from them. CWG3600AAS13 - I purchased this advertised as Double Oven. It is NOT - its an oven w/ broiler. The oven shuts off completely during cooking time and comes back on approx. 2-3 mins. This takes place often and loses heat. I have to adjust cooking times and oven temp to make up for the loss. This also happens when broiling. Needless to say it takes MUCH longer to broil anything. When I notified Maytag of this, they responded with it is an open door broiler. Are they serious? I have 2 dogs and 11 grandchildren - burn factor anyone? (P.S. It did not change anything.)

I bought a Maytag washer in Sept. 2018 because the company had a reputation of making quality products that did not need repairs. I was wrong. Because I live alone so at most I washed two loads a week, so the company cannot say it had been overused. After a little more than a year I notice at times the wash cycle took too long. One time I tried the 2 rinse cycle and it would not quit washing. A repairman reset the computer to factory settings (he was at the house repairing a refrigerator) and it worked for a few months trouble free before dying. I will not purchase another Whirlpool product since the company did not stand by its product.

I had a Maytag dishwasher that I purchased around 2005. I had no issues with it at all. Then, I got a notice that it was being recalled due to a fire hazard. My options were to either get a repairman to come out and fix it, or get a credit towards a purchase of a new dishwasher. I chose the second option. Even after getting a credit, the purchase cost was way more than my original dishwasher. I purchased the new dishwasher in June of 2010. Last spring (May 2012), I noticed a gap in my hardwood floors around the sink. A flooring rep looked around and said he would bet that theres a leak either at the sink or the dishwasher. I took off the front kick-plate to the dishwasher and discovered a wet spot. I monitored that area and discovered the leak coming from under the dishwasher (around the float switch). It wouldnt leak all the time, but every now and then, it would leak half to a full cup of water. I had the hardwood floor fixed (cost $350). At the same time, I schedule a service repair through Maytag. They sent a rep from a local repair company (Convenient Appliance Service, Inc.). The service rep couldnt identify the cause of the leak but said it was more than likely the seal around the door. So, I paid another $160 to get the repair done. I monitored the leak for a week and had no problems, so I put the kick-plate back on. In September 2012, I noticed a wet spot in front of the dishwasher. I took off the kick-plate and discovered that the dishwasher was leaking again. This time the leak was worse. It would leak 1 to 2 cups of water during a wash cycle. I called the repair company and they came out free of charge to take a look at it. The service rep said the float switch had gunk build up in it. He cleaned it out and said that should fix the problem. I monitored the area for 2 weeks and everything seemed to be fine. Last week (March 2013), I noticed some gaps in the hardwood flooring around the sink and dishwasher. I pulled off the kick-plate and discovered a wet spot. I ran the dishwasher and discovered that it leaked a ton of water (over 4 cups). I contacted the repair company that came out last time, and they said they would have to charge me $100 plus to come out and take a look at the problem. The rep recommended contacting Maytag. I contacted Maytag and they said I would either have to pay $129 for a service call (not including cost for parts), or $269 to get covered under their Repair Plus 1 program (everythings covered and it adds 1 year of warranty my dishwasher). I asked at what point Maytag would replace a dishwasher. The rep said when it is deemed unfixable. Other than that, they just keep coming out if I have issues. Part of me thought I need to cut my losses and just rip out the dishwasher and get a new one (cost somewhere around $700). But I went with the Repair Plus 1 program in hopes that they can resolve the issue. But Im definitely going to have to get the hardwoods ripped out again. It looks worse than before. It’s probably going to run another $500.

I have had 2 Maytag washers in 37 yrs and loved their products, however I purchased a Maytag quiet 300 in 2/09 and it is the worse Maytag product on the market. The frame around the bleach dispenser has rusted out and I have called for the 3rd time in 5 years to have it repaired. To my dismay it will cost 300.00 to fix because the bearings have to be replaced. I will now have to purchase a new washer. The days of the Maytag man are long gone. I bought the Maytag Bravo XL washer and dryer at Lowe’s on sale spending almost $2000. Loved both of them until the washer stopped with a load of laundry in it. No power to unit. Called for service. Could not provide serial number as locked in washer. Service company able to order parts without the serial number but part put on back order. Washer needs a master board. After 1 week of wet laundry stuck in the washer called store manager at Lowe’s. I contacted Maytag Service and had a rude customer service clerk who finally listened to me after I got angry with her. She contacted the appliance repair company and got the back ordered part sent to the appliance repair company. We are now 10 days out. Still do not have the part; just talked to appliance repair company supervisor. The appliance repair company supervisor said he would schedule installation as soon as he had the part. It will probably be 14 days when I get the washer fixed. I am dreading opening the washer to get the load out that I will have to throw away. When I called for service at Lowe’s the representative said, We have had a lot of issues with this. A 2 month old new washer should not have the control board go out. Shame on Maytag.

We bought a Maytag refrigerator two years ago with the front french doors and bottom pull out drawer. We chose Maytag because we thought it was a name we could trust, a good quality merchandise. However, in the last two months, we started having problems when the fridge wouldnt stay cold, the freezer worked fine. We removed everything from the freezer and my husband found the freezer needed defrosting as the back of the unit was a solid sheet of ice. It took hours to defrost and we thought that we had the problem taken care of.. and that we wouldnt have to worry about this happening again. However, we have now had to do this three times in the last two months!! I love the style of this fridge..but am getting SO ANNOYED with having to rip everything out of the freezer and spending HOURS to defrost it! I have NEVER had this problem with any other fridge!! Im ready to replace it, but weve only had it for two years, and I shouldnt have to be spending a fortune on ANOTHER fridge after TWO years!!

About 6 years ago we purchased a new french door style refrigerator. It lasted one year and one month then needed over $700 in repairs. First you need to know I am into electronics, DeVry graduate with 30+ years experience in repairing electronic devices. The Maytag basically frosted over in the freezer and was warm in the upper part of the fridge. I called a friend who had experience fixing fridges and lo and behold we found something really unusual. The way this machine operates is by blowing the cold air from the freezer up into the fridge. There is a fan located in the back of the freezer wall that does this. We found the fan, which was mounted in a grey box, spinning at about 2 revolutions a minute. My friend took me to the wholesale parts distributor he uses and we gave them the brand (Maytag) model (MFD2561HES) and they gave us a fan... just a fan with two wires. No grey box with fan inside... At this point I got curious, I mean WTF?!?The grey box was made not to be opened and I had to get clever so as to not damage whatever was inside it. After getting it open I discovered the fan inside was wired to a circuit board which upon inspection was a timing circuit. This is why the fan still turned only too slow to function. The new fan was installed and my only problem with the fridge now is the ice maker, which I disconnected. Conclusion: Maytag actually designed this fridge to break down and require hundreds of dollars of repairs AFTER the warranty expired by installing a timing circuit that disables the fan that drives the cool air to the upper part of the fridge to keep your food cold and your freezer frost free. Replace the grey box with a normal fan and youll get years of good use out of your French Door Maytag! As long as you clean the seals regularly and dont mind buying ice to fill the tray with... The repair cost me $39 and a six pack of beer for my friend.

After two years of light use of Maytag Washer 300 Series (MHWE300VW13), it stopped working. I bought Maytag Repair Plan Plus One on Oct. 8, 2012. Am I complaining to the air here?!

First let me say I have used Maytag products for 46 years. A little over a year ago bought a new Maytag Centennial Washer (Model MVWC555DW) for a cousin which was responsible to looking after as he had been brain damaged since birth. Needless to say when I started having trouble with clothes not washing and having to bring to my home and wash was not satisfactory. This machine never worked right but until after the 1 year warranty could get by. Needless to say I will never buy another Maytag appliance but now have a Maytag washer/dryer, stove and dishwasher in my home. Maytag is Not the quality that is use to be. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS MACHINE AND ALSO UNDERSTAND FROM LOWES THEY HAVE HAD A LOT OF TROUBLE WITH THIS MODEL.

Its frustrating the way the bottom of the dishwasher has curves making wasted space. Second, the tracks for the trays are such that often the tray comes off the track and makes it difficult to get back on without unloading dirty dishes to do so. Finally, I really dont get the lighting system for dishwashing on the outside of the machine.

On December 22, 2013 I purchased a Maytag front loading washer Model # MHWEE201YW00 from The Home Depot. On July 28 the bearing failed and greased my clothes and rendered the washer unusable. On August 1st I contacted the Maytag Customer Service Line; the wait for contact was approximately 20 minutes, not a very good answer time and unfortunately the best I would receive during this process. Despite the wait, I received good response and had a service call set up for Wednesday August 6th.On Wednesday August 6th, a service technician from Quaker City Appliances took a look at our washer and determined that the bearings had failed and that the entire drum assembly would need to be replaced. He stated that anytime the bearings fail this soon, it typically means that the bearings weren’t pressed properly or the drum wasn’t tightened enough and that he would order the parts as soon as he got back to the office. On Friday August 8th, a representative from Quaker City Appliances called and notified us that the part was no longer available and instructed my wife to call Whirlpool Customer Service and give them this number **, to coordinate a replacement washer. I called later that afternoon and spent over an hour waiting and was transferred between departments. The first representative was very cordial and professional; the second who I believe was from the Tech-line was anything but. In my career I have held responsibility for customer service and while there are many golden rules, one of the most important was never to tell the customer “I can’t”, well Cheyenne (I believe that was her name) couldn’t help me with anything and clearly told me so. She explained that my problem was referred to the Trade Partners and I needed to call back to Quaker City Appliances on Monday. On Monday August 11th, I called Quaker City Appliances, who promptly informed me that the matter was turned over to Whirlpool and I need to contact them as there was nothing else that could be done. Later that day I called back to customer service, again waiting between two representatives at least an hour. I was informed that my matter was with the Trade Partners and that I will need to wait one to two days for a phone call. A phone call that never came…..Yesterday August 14th, I contacted Whirlpool customer service, again waiting over twenty-five minutes for the first contact, and then was eventually handed over to the tech line and another wait. Eventually, I spoke to a very pleasant representative who gave me the Trade Partner number and transferred me, unfortunately I was disconnected. I called back and found out that the office closed at 5:00. Today I called the Trade Partner line (1-800-874-4698) at about 3:30 and after 40 minutes I have given up and decided to write this letter. All I want is a functioning washing machine.

Bought this Dishwasher two years ago. Control panel was working intermittently now it does not work. I am looking for anyone with this same problem. I know lawyers who are class action specialists who fight for the consumer. We need to make Maytag responsible for the flaws they have in their product. From reading these other reviews it seems that this control panel issue is consistent no matter what model you have. They must all share the same electrical components that is causing this issue with the control panel. My model number is MDB8959SBS2.

MF12665XEM7 Maytag Fridge water runs on the floor: After reading the review and watching the video to fix, I called Maytag. They refused to help. We bought our fridge at Nebraska Furniture Mart. We have spent a lot of money with them too. My husband called to see if they would split the cost of the service call. They refused. My floor is ruined from the water leakage onto it when we are not home. We try to catch the ice buildup and remove it before it is an issue. Why is there no class action suit? There is definitely a problem with this fridge and Im seeing it online everywhere I look.

We have a Maytag Dishwasher Model MDBH949AWB. We have purchased the extended warranty. Today, after more than 100 minutes on the phone, mostly on hold, we were unable to schedule an appointment to replace the control board, or even have them verify that we have extended warranty coverage. It generally took many many minutes to get a person, only to be referred to a different person at a different number. Nobody had access to our extended warranty info, and to go further into getting a repair scheduled, they said they needed that info. I finally went on their website, and after keying in extensive information, I got a screen saying they were having trouble with their website, and to please try again later. So I did their chat, and ultimately they told me to call 866-730-6094. The earlier numbers I called, in sequence, were 866-576-1660 (53 minutes on hold); then told to call 866-265-0029, for another long hold. And then told to call 800-626-4342. Long hold, and I hung up. At one point, I think the second person I actually spoke with gave me an incident number of **. My extended warranty expires in Feb. of 2017, and they even asked me to renew early. Since the warranty seems totally worthless, why would I do that? Terrible customer service. Wont do business with Maytag ever again, and am warning others not do so either.

Model mdb7749sbm. Unit is just over 1 year old and fails in the same way everybody else in complaining about. Here is my question, this failure mode is obviously a designed in feature providing planned obsolescence to the device. Why is this company not being held to account for the damages in this case? Are all the judges that bought that no suit can be brought?Have all of you contacted your state consumer protection organizations regarding this issue? I would also recommend that you write both your state senator, the state consumer protection organization and any media outlets you can think of. High rate of control panel failure, devices activating by themselves when people are potentially away from the house, risk of fire or flooding... these are serious things and I would think a story that some news organization would surely be interested in digging into. Now that would serve to light a little fire under the Maytag organization if something like that was to occur. This sure seems to me to be a defrauding of the consumer - selling them a product at the top end of the price range that has such a significant design flaw that in the end can only be considered not fit for purpose. I havent yet contacted Maytag and Home Depot (who I believe are fully complicit in this as well), but I will be doing so to give them a chance to make this right, which I fully expect them to decline to do. Then I will begin writing letters. Am also considering small claims court. But above all, do not just accept this and move on! Companies like this need to be held to account, and they need to be reported so that others purchasing new devices in the future know to stay away from them.

Wish I had reviewed Consumer Affairs reports. When our old Maytag stove required repairs we decided to upgrade old stove instead of putting money into old unit. Looks like a huge mistake. Not only was there a delay in receiving unit after placing order but oven will not preheat. Two weeks before Thanksgiving we were promised a working unit. Now we are only 2 days from Thanksgiving, 2 repair companies have been at home to repair. Requires new circuit board and a new regulator to repair and no promise we can obtain parts. Now I have to figure out how to feed my family for holiday. I am pretty well done and after reading other reports that they are better in junkyard I think I will try to make them take back this defective Model 8800 product. Sitting in our kitchen unusable for the holidays. Dont buy Maytag as customer service does not exist.

I just finished paying off my Maytag Bravos series washer and dryer, and now they are failing! The washer isnt getting dirt out and the dryer power button broke. And its not like I can use some pliers to get the switch to work, its like the part that controls the power just dropped out of existence, leaving me with a knob in my hand that connects to nothing! Of course, the limited warranty only covers the drums, not the little dinky parts that break more easily. I had inherited a set of Maytags and they were well over 20 years old (possibly 30) and they both were powerhouses. But this is terrible! I feel super disappointed that Im going to have to buy a new set after only owning these for 18 months. I know I WONT be buying Maytag ever again, though!

Early January I still had heard nothing, So I again contacted Maytag and they had no answer. On January 26th I finally received an email saying due to parts on backorder I had been approved a new washer and JB Hunt would be handling the delivery and disposal of the original washer. On Feb. 07 - I contact Maytag, yet again, due to not hearing anything for almost 2 weeks - They stated that the request was not submitted properly and it would be another 5 days before a representative would be in contact with me. I am currently still paying on this brand new washer that does not work on top of 4 + months of laundromat fees due to not having a functioning washing machine and I am nowhere closer than I was mid November to a solution for this washing machine. It is a badly designed unit which should have a latch instead of just pulling out.I am so disappointed and will think twice before buying Maytag. The unit has an ice maker. On a regular basis, water would accumulate at the bottom of the freezer pan. When the bottom pan got filled up, water would run out on to my hardwood floor. I related the problem to the ice maker. Researching the problem, I learned that the ice maker has an adjustment for timing the on cycle for filling the ice tray. After several adjustments nothing changed. I ordered a water control valve and installed it. The problem persisted. I installed a water pressure regulator but the problem persisted. I installed a water filter, the problem persisted. I turned off the entire ice maker and the problem persisted. The problem wasnt the ice maker. The real problem was the defrost cycle of the evaporator. The drain for the water was plugged with ice. I made modifications to the design so I could monitor the drain hole in the back of the freezer. Will I purchase another Maytag… probably not?

I have had to put less than a 1/4 of tub full of clothing (about 15 small items). Use high water level, extra rinse, then rinse and spin again to get the 2 tablespoons of HE soap off my clothing. I purchased the Maytag Atlantis Washer and dryer in 2004. I had the washer transmission replaced in 2006, I believe. For about a year now, the washer makes an awful screeching noise. I am not sure if its towards the end of the spin cycle or the rinse cycle, or both. In addition (and over the last 3-4 years), the dial sticks or stalls every delicate cycle. It will stop during the initial agitating and all you can hear is a ticking noise, in which you then have to manually give the dial a slight turn for the cycle to continue. It does it once on the light delicate and twice on the normal delicate. It really is a shame that Maytag is not acknowledging all of these problems as it is not feasible for most people to have a spare $1500 kicking around for a new washer and dryer every time they unfortunately buy a lemon. My previous washer and dryer were 25 years old and still working perfectly when I decided to part with them because they were fairly small. I dont even ever recall having any issues with either one of them in the whole 25 years that I had them. To see all of these complaints makes me more irritated with my appliances and my selection!

I have nothing but great reviews for my Maytag experience... In approx 1975 I purchased a Maytag W&D, Model MAH4000 MDE4000, when their advertisement was portraying Maytag repairmen as the loneliest repairmen. Maytag was so dependable that the repairman was NOT needed...and it was true... That Maytag W&D set lasted til approx 1998 when it was upgraded to the Maytag Neptune MAH4000 series... Had a minor problem with mold in the washer, but Sears and Maytag replaced the seal and made another modification... We also dried the seal at the end of the washing day and left the door slightly ajar between uses... Have not again had that problem.I have since given the Neptune set to my daughter and the washer and dryer are still in operation, WORKING SUPERBLY I might add... So I am searching for a good quality Model MAH4000 and MDE4000 to replace my current much older, yet functional Whirlpool... It may need some repairs and about a year ago, I spent $173 to replace the Pump which was clogged by a sock inadvertently stuffed around the top of the drum when too many items were pushed in at one time. I prefer not to throw additional money at this machine! So, if you know of a Quality pre-owned Maytag Neptune washer and dryer in the Lexington KY area, please contact me...

Seven years ago when we bought a new house, we bought all new appliances, Maytag Washer and Dryer, because they were suppose to be extra good and sturdy, what a joke. For the past four or five years, I have had to replace the lock on the door of the washer, which means Im without a washer for a week. Since no one stocks the parts because it is such a joke, some repair places wont even consider repairing a Neptune. Seems like since the company stopped making them because of the problems they have, as a minimum they should replace all Neptune washers that have been sold with a reliable washer, front loading in the same price range. I will never buy another Maytag product and will be sure to tell everyone I know not to buy them either.

Yes, I was asked if I needed anything else and I replied I dont think so! Well when I got home, I did need the water supply sweep 90 degree elbow. Or tell sales people to inform there are parts missing. I had to drive back to Huntsville, AL from Hazel Green. Not life or death, just saying! I do like Maytag products. The dishwasher I replaced was17 years old and we had good service! It’s just starting sounding like a rocket motor. Time to upgrade, I thought. Well my wife really thought so! ;)

Do not buy this refrigerator!! It’s small on the inside but to top it off the vent is on the left side, not in the back, so everything freezes on the left side of the refrigerator. Plus they positioned the light right in the front at the top so you cannot put a gallon of milk or anything tall. Not orange juice, apple juice, nothing!! Horrible design. I’ve had the repairman out, he said he couldn’t do anything about the freezing on the left side unless he turned the temperature up on the fridge and on the freezer. We tried that & The ice cream was so soft, almost melted. The problem then was the temperature was too warm for milk and other items. Not a recommended temperature to keep cold items. He said I would have to keep everything away from the back & the left side to use it without freezing my items. I’ve lost a lot of food because of this. Very unhappy with this refrigerator!!

I hate my new Maytag washer and wish I had never purchased it. Theres no way to control the water level in it, and on sensor mode, the clothes are barely wet and rubbing against each other creating wear. Things come out with soap stains and twisted up so tight that I dont believe water got close enough to the dirt to carry it away. Dont waste your money.

Purchased a Maytag smooth-top range about a year and a half ago. Ive only cooked frozen pizzas in it. Have only had it on six or seven times. Havent used the top burners at all. Its an electric range, and I just had it hooked up a couple of months ago, as I was trying to find a place for it in the tiny kitchen. The folks who lived here before me, had a huge refrigerator and gas stove right next to each other, and I didnt want to go that route. Anyway, I went to put yet another frozen pizza in the oven, and the light doesnt work! So, after only six or seven uses, the oven light is busted! My mom had an old Westinghouse Terrace Top range, and it lasted well over 20 years with no problems. The only reason she sold it was because she remodeled her kitchen. It still worked great after all those years. Its after-hours now, but when I call Maytag tomorrow, Im expecting to get the run-around, if the other reviews are accurate, and Im SURE they are. Wont ever buy another Maytag product again.

My Maytag over the range microwave model number MMV4250AAW, would not shut off when I had it set to 1 minute on reheat. I unplugged it and now it wont come on at all even though the cord still has power. Dont buy Maytag! Maybe if they get messages from consumers, they might be interested in what we have to say.

Maytag Bravos XL - I purchased my maytag washer & gas dryer on 5/12/12. In Dec 2012 the heating element went out. I had to wait a week for a repairman to come out on Dec. 20 to fix it. Now for the second time on Dec. 30th, 2014 the heating element has gone out. I called for a repairman to come out. I have to wait until Jan. 12th 2015 for service. I have 8 people in my home including 3 grandchildren. This length of waiting is ridiculous and very inconvenient.

I can honestly say that my Maytag refrigerator is indeed the worse appliance that I have ever purchased. This is how it rolled... I bought a new Maytag stove, frig, microwave, and dishwasher in June of 2006. Here is what I am now dealing with... the frig went on the fritz 2 years ago (warranty expired). The problem being the freezer would not automatically defrost. Because of this the coils would ice up and this prevented the cold air from moving from the freezer into the frig part. Things remained frozen in the freezer, but everything became warm on the other side, the frig side. I had it repaired about a year and a half ago to the tune of $165. Then about 6 months ago the problem reoccurred, but instead of paying for another repair I figured out that if I used my blow dryer I could defrost the ice from the coils on my own.Unfortunately, the problem reoccurs more frequently now and I have to manually defrost the coils almost every week. This past weekend things finally came to an end as no matter how many times I manually defrosted the coils, it would be fully iced up again with an hour or so. Also, all the time it is acting up it just sucks up electricity, and I have notice a spike upwards on my energy bill. It must be related to the frig. So, I bit the bullet and bought a used frig on craigslist just to hold me over until I have time to do research on what appliance brand is indeed reliable. I should of done this before I bought my Maytag appliances from Home Depot. As far as my other Maytag appliances, here is their current condition. Microwave about the stove: the handle broke off a little less than 2 years after purchase. Stove: now has rust on the front of stove, at the bottom of the stove which is a pull out drawer.Dishwasher: not working at all. The start button doesnt work. Normally, you just push the button and a green light comes on and it begins the first cycle. This is no longer happening and no green light comes on. Refrigerator: Took it to the dumps this morning to be recycled. Cant believe it, all of these appliances are nothing but crap and I will never purchase another Maytag. I have shared my experiences with all my family and friends and have encouraged them to avoid Maytag, as it is not even close to being the product it used to be. Another piece of junk coming from somewhere other than here in the USA. We lose jobs here in the US, and then end up buying the goods from another country that makes inferior products. How stupid can we get!

I called Maytag Service, and they sent someone out to fix it. They expected me to take off from work where they inconvenience me with this washer. It is a reject washer. They would give me another washer and not consider people having to work and cant take off for their reject washer. They said as long as it is under warranty. I feel that I should be able to get me another. This washer has given me problems since I had it.

We purchased a complete, upper-end Maytag kitchen package from Lowes. So far, the MMV5208WS microwave has gone out 3 times; it was the magnetron all 3 times. The last time was a few weeks after the warranty ran out. After a lot of discussions with Lowes management, they then took it back and gave me choice of any brand. We picked a Samsung and have had no problems so far.As for the MDB8859AWS dishwasher, it was just stuck under the counter for the first 6 months of its life, because we were in the middle of a remodel and it wasnt plumbed in yet. Once we got it working, my wife loved it. Weve used it maybe 40-50 times since she was still hand-washing small sink-loads of dishes. A month or so out of warranty, it went out. There were no lights on the keypad and everything was dead. We thought it was the main control board, but it wasnt. Next, I tried the keypad, because Ive read many posts about these 2 things seeming to always go out on these models. I still have the fridge and stove, and hopefully they fare better than the microwave and dishwasher. What kills me is when I look at my old Maytag dishwasher and Samsung counter top microwave in the garage; both 15-20 years old and still worked just fine after getting replaced. It has never had a repair of any kind. I went out and spent $639.00 (it was on sale, the regular price was $799) on a ** dishwasher and it didnt even last a year. The microwave was close to $400, and it was on sale. I think my old Samsung microwave cost $79.99 when I bought it. You used to get what you paid for!

We purchased a Maytag Front Load Washer in April 2011. We did not purchase an extended warranty. From the beginning, it didnt seem to clean as well as our 12 year old top load Whirlpool had. Then in Summer 2013 it began to create fabric pulls in fine fabrics - tablecloths, blouses, etc. Whirlpool sent a repairman who charged $90 to tell us that the drum needed to be replaced because of a rough spot. He ordered a new drum and we understood that it would be replaced because it was within the 5 year manufacturers warranty on drums, but we would have to pay for installation. 2 months later, Whirlpool informed us they could not supply the new drum. Why are replacement parts not available for a 2 year old machine? The customer service rep told me that they would replace the machine for 15 percent of the cost of a new machine. All I needed to do would be to pick out a machine and let customer service know the model number and they would make arrangements and contact me re: payment of the 15%. When I contacted them again I was told that I would be expected to pay $508.00. That is 15% of a $3000.00 machine. It it completely unfair. Later, I was told that the first rep I spoke to must have been wrong because they dont pro rate replacements on a percentage basis. I told them that I was not interested and they have lost a good Whirlpool customer. In the last 15 years we have purchased 7 appliances made by Whirlpool. Never again! I am not impressed by their customer service.

After a year or so my Maytag fridge is leaking, I followed instructions on how to remove ice clogging the drain pipe and fixed the problem. I see that this problem is going to repeat over and over again for the life of this unit, because of a poor design. The design fix will be to add a small heater (at the location where the ice creates the clog) actuated periodically by the control board, or at least with a manual push button for the user can easily remove press the button to melt the ice clogging the pipe. This is a cheap design which did not go through design validation and qualification.

I contacted Maytag and they said the control board likely needs to be replaced to the tune of around $250, not including labor! We spent $800 on this dishwasher and it cant even last 3 years?? Ridiculous. The only other advice the service rep. had was that we should have bought the extended warranty. Gee, thanks. I guess with Maytag, you really DO need that extended warranty because their products are junk. I think I will just scrap this dishwasher and go with a Bosch. We also have a Maytag range that needed servicing after owning it for only 18 mos. And a Maytag dryer that needed servicing after a month (at least that was under warranty). I purchased a Maytag gas range after remodeling my kitchen. I thought I was getting a good product, boy was I wrong. The ceramic gas grates are so slippery that pots tend to slide off but the real problem is that the racks inside the oven fall when you place pots on them. I tried cooking a Thanksgiving turkey in it and the racks fell to the bottom of the oven. It appears that the top rack and the bottom rack are the only two that stay in place. And it also appears that when the oven is on, the sides of the oven expand so that the racks fall. I have tried to contact Sears as thats where it was purchased to no avail. I will now attempt to contact Maytag directly but it appears that I will also not get anywhere there. I have read at least one other complaint of this exact same type happening to someone else. I bought model MDBM601AWB3 in October of 2009. The control panel and wiring harness burned in August of 2011 after, at the most, running twice a week. I called customer service and talked to numerous people. All said, Too bad, out of warranty. I did a quick Google and learned it is a common problem and even a fire hazard with Maytag dishwashers. My wife, who was being treated for lung cancer at the time and was very emotional, got a hold of someone in corporate and literally cried that we could not afford the $600 to fix a problem they knew it had when they sold it to us. They relented and agreed to pay for parts; we pay labor. Today, 1/10/13, the control panel is dead again. I suspect it is the same problem as all they did was replace the panel and wires. This machine has obvious dangerous design flaws that they were aware of. I find it sad that a company can screw people like this and get away with it. What recourse do we have now?

To begin with, the Bravos 300 washer was bought because we owned a Maytag previously and it was with us for 25 years. It was still running when we gave it away and the only problem was a small oil leak starting at the drive. The new washer has no agitator, just the new style flat thing at the bottom of the tub. You cannot wash a set of fitted sheets without it turning into a tangled mess. The washer quit working after about 5 years and all indications pointed to the control. The control would reset after unplugging, but would freeze immediately when you tried to enter a command. We live in an isolated place and it is not feasible to fly in a service person. I ordered a new control, but there was no change in function. After several hours of detective work, it turns out that the mickey mouse plug for the electrical connection at the pump had broken inside. Because the pump would not work, the whole control would freeze. We will never buy another Maytag.

Have owned washer and dryer for one year. Liked the styling, basic functions and the manufacturers reputation. Also liked the fact that there was a rebate on the pair. We bought the entry level Maytag pair from Lowes. Lowes delivered the units quickly. Thats the good news. The BAD news is (they) dont tell you when you buy the unit that you have to buy and use special detergents. One of the cycles on the dryer stopped working within ten weeks. But the REAL thing we hate about these is the fact that they are built out of PAPER-THIN METAL. If you push on it hard with one finger you will have a permanent dent. They proudly display American flag stickers on the units proclaiming Made In the USA. They should be more concerned about the quality of their construction. A local appliance salesman told us that twenty years ago (these) appliances would commonly last fifteen to twenty years. Today you are lucky to get five or six years (But then they get to sell you another, and another, and another).

Bought a new home in July of 2016 and the builder had included a Maytag Bravos XL washer and dryer. They are THE WORST performing appliances I have ever used! I will replace as soon as I have the means to do so. DO NOT PURCHASE the Maytag Bravos XL appliances. The engineers that designed them should be fired! The washing machine makes an incredibly loud noise (like an old starter grinding in a 50s car). Im told that this is normal for the machine. Does NOT clean well and leaves soap spots on dark clothes... leaves them on light clothes but I cannot see them. Whites come out dingy even with bleach. The tub is so deep that I have to use tongs to get out smaller items, I am 53 tall and have never had this issue before. Soap dispenser drawer wont stay closed during wash cycle. Clothes are so badly tangled during the wash cycle that it is hard to describe the wrinkled mess that has to go into the dryer.Dryer issues: Very loud. Very wobbly and unstable, and yes, it has been leveled 3 times. Bed linens have to be separated at least 3 times during the drying cycles because they twist and wad up into big, wet knots of cloth. Infuriating!!! Dry time is very long unless you wish to cook your clothes. So disappointed in this product. Total rubbish!!

I bought a Maytag dishwasher in 9/2006. I was happy with it until 12/10 when it smoked and almost caught fire in the middle of the night! Luckily, I have a GFI circuit breaker and it shut the dishwasher off before it burned my house down. After researching on Google, I found out that my dishwasher had been recalled as a fire hazard, and I was never notified by Maytag. I called Maytag from my house phone and the automated system knew my name and address immediately just by me calling -- so they could have easily notified me but they chose not to.I ended up getting a voucher to purchase a new dishwasher (model: MDB7709AWB2). The one year warranty has literally just expired, and the Start/Resume, and the Cancel/Drain buttons no longer work. The replacement parts from Maytag cost $212.37, and that price does not include the price to get it installed from a service technician -- add on another $100-$200 depending on where you live. This is a known problem, and seems to repeat yearly! Another annoying thing about this dishwasher is the wheels on the racks. They dont glide easily and they constantly get off the track. I hate this dishwasher and I will never purchase another product from Maytag/Whirlpool/Jenn-Air again!
