Purchased a Maytag dishwasher from Best Buy. We did not buy the extended warranty from BB because there is a warranty with Maytag. After 4 months of use the washer stopped working. We were unable to return it to Best Buy because we exceeded the 2 week return policy and needed to rely on Maytags 1 year warranty. It took over 2 weeks to schedule a repair and he was unable to fix it, it needed an entirely new Control Board and UI panel. 3 weeks later he returned with the new parts. It worked for 10 days with the NEW Board and panel, it has now stopped working again. We are not able to replace it due to the California Lemon Law which allows a company 3 opportunities to fix it before replacing. Next time I will purchase the Best Buy warranty so I can replace this Maytag LEMON.

No motor is available for the Bravos washer machine which is 5 years old! Now the machine is garbage and I need to buy a new one. I thought Maytag was a great brand so I purchased the Bravos but now I understand from the company that no motor replacements are available!! Wtf? Maytag/Whirlpool dont care for loyal supporters so, I am TELLING EVERYONE not to purchase Maytag/Whirlpool appliances whose name has gone for a dump with this latest situation.

After everything posted here why would anyone take a chance buying any Whirlpool product including all subsidiaries. I made the mistake of buying a Maytag washer and dryer less than 3 yrs ago. There are only 2 people in the household and we only wash linens, towels and undergarments- the rest goes for dry cleaning. The washer stopped filling with water, similar to what was posted by another customer. Maytag customer service was 2 weeks out. When the service tech arrived he diagnosed the problem as a faulty water value but didn’t have the part- another week. I asked the tech why it takes 2 weeks to get someone out for a service call- he told me that there were 4 techs working the area but 2 quit and they were never replaced. The tech went on to say that he was leaving because of the misdirected grief he gets from customers because “the Whirlpool brand is crap”, it takes to long to get service and usually the cost is more than the appliance is worth- and they take it out on him. That is not hard to understand.Bottom line- IF THE SERVICE TECH IS TELLING YOU THE BRAND IS “CRAP” what else do you need to know. FYI- Maytag repairman quoted a new water valve at $70, labor $150 for a total of $230. I paid $600 for the machine- is this a joke? The exact same part was available on Amazon for $43 and was delivered in a day. With the help of a YouTube video I replaced the part in 10mins. On top of the fact that the appliance is crap, it would have taken 3 weeks to get fixed- Maytag is also screwing customers with overpriced parts that shouldn’t have to be replaced in the first place- fair warning, STAY AWAY.

My stove is approximately nine years old. During the past year both my husband and I enjoy cooking from recipes 3-4 times a week thus the stove has become essential. Functionality and size is important when trying to cook meals with two or three components. One of the oven racks was missing from the oven when we moved into the house. Even though it is self cleaning, spills pile up between cleanings so it is great that it has a really cool steam cleaning option. Just wish it were 5-6 years newer.

Im not sure that the guys who designed this unit ever actually tested it. During the wash cycle, if you have something like a fitted sheet it will actually stuff all of the surrounding wash items into the sheet until it forms one huge, round ball. Then it gets really interesting because the vicious spin cycle sends the machine marching around the laundry room and this happens even if the wash has not balled up. I now try to evenly distribute the wash within the tub prior to starting the wash cycle but it doesnt work. So now I grab a cup of coffee and newspaper and sit with my washer throughout the entire spin cycle to make sure that the hoses dont tear out of the wall.

Water level is totally inaccurate, if you do get enough water in it, it will not spin clothes dry. This is the worst purchase I have bought in my entire life. This washing machine fails in every aspect period!! AND the matching dryer is a waste of space as well, clothes come out damp regardless of setting or time period. When I was younger, Maytag meant something, not anymore! I have searched to see if there are replacement sensors, or upgraded components to make these machines work properly, that I would even be willing to pay for myself and get them installed to make them functional, but NO they dont even offer that... we are just stuck with them. My water bill is higher and my electric bill is higher too! From these machines. I wouldnt even sell them used to another person. I wouldnt want them to inherit these problems, but as soon as I can save up enough money {being disabled} I will get these hauled off and buy a set of Speed Queen machines. My wife and I are so repeatedly disgusted!! I wish I had the receipt so I could post it for more proof.

Our brand new Maytag dishwasher model number MDB87749SBM2 was professionally installed on 7/31/2013. In fall of 2015 my control panel started acting up. I was unable to select certain wash cycles. The problem would come and go. By January 2016 my lock button would freeze and I was unable to unlock or select any wash cycles. By February 2016 my control panel went out completely. It wont turn on, not a single light. It is fried. When Googling the issue I found that we are 1 of MANY with faulty control panels not only on our particular model but on many Maytag dishwashers. They all seem to have the same problem, right around to 2-3 year old mark. One would think dishwashers would last, like before. A dishwasher shouldnt need to be replaced or need a major repair so soon. The one our new dishwasher replaced was 12 years old and was working just fine. We just wanted to upgrade to stainless steel. Wow what an upgrade haha! Maytag should be recalling these control panels. Their name is no longer a trusted name in our home.

I bought a Maytag washer January 2016. We recently had a issue with it so I logged onto the Maytag website and found a service provider to come see what was wrong. I had to pay a $100 fee for them to come out and look at it. I was told that the transition went bad. The parts were under warranty however I would have to pay for labor, which would be $325. Called Maytag and was told because I did not purchase an extended warranty there was nothing they could do about the labor. I can buy a new washer for $500 why would I spend $325 to fix? Already lost a $100 for them to come out to tell me what was wrong. Completely not right. A washer should last more then 4 years! Do not buy any Maytag produces. Will not last!

Things that I have read that are true: Rips clothes/towels/sheets. No real problems with motherboard like some have stated. Bought Maytag Bravos Washer/Dryer in 2009. No real problems with the dryer, HOWEVER, may with the Washer. Had the pump go out in 2/2010 to the tune of $199.20 due to a small object in the pump. The repairman said it would just take a very inexpensive part from Maytag to prevent this. In 6/2012 washer not draining, clogged pump. All right, new to HE Washers, so told to use less detergent than detergent manufacturer recommends. $79.13 to fix clogged drain. Even though being careful with items in pockets, loose buttons, etc. AGAIN had pump go in 1/13, $214.22 (same problem cheaper in 2010, repair inflation). Wed noticed it was loud on the spin cycle (like a rocket going off) and were told at that visit the bearings would need to be replaced, and quoted approximately $280 to repair those. Havent fixed, waiting for something else to go wrong and then decide what to do with it. So in 4 years paying almost the purchase price of the unit (if I fixed bearings also). Crazy. If you bought a house and had to pay 4/5 of the house to repair it in that short of a time, no one would own a house!!!

I purchased this washer three years ago. It worked fine, but all of a sudden the washer stopped spinning and was not following any of the cycles. Of course it was out of warranty. The repairman states the computer board on the washer is fried and will cost $400 to replace. Several stores have stopped selling Maytag because of quality issues. No more Maytag for me.

I bought a Maytag Bravos top loader in Oct 2011. About a yr after having it, it started having problems. At the end of the cycle, theres still water in the tub and clothes are soaked. A couple of months after that, it started completely skipping the wash cycle, so the clothes would just sit in dirty water and do nothing. I called the small appliance co. I bought it from and by the time I get done paying a house call and parts, I might as well buy another one. I called Maytag because it seems theyre all having the same problem and at some point youd think they would be responsible for their product. They couldnt care less and the options they offered me were a joke!! Please, whatever you do, DO NOT BUY A MAYTAG because you will be on your own if anything goes wrong (unless you want to pay them the price of a new washer!!).

I need a new circuit board for a $2500 refrigerator. It was Saturday night of a holiday weekend when the ice chute started opening and closing and lights on door panel flashed like crazy. I called Maytag, who set up a service appointment for me for Monday. The tech came at 6pm and said there was nothing he could do without a part from Maytag and left. I proceeded to throw out all spoiled food and load a cooler with ice. I called Maytag, and they said it will take about a week to receive the part and have service. I have children in the house, and we live in Miami. I said that I would pay for overnight delivery of the part, and they told me it couldnt be done. I called this morning for a tracking number of the part, and they told me that it wasnt sent out as of yet. According to the internet search, this is a problem with a considerable amount of model number MF12568AES, and I should have been notified by the company. They claim it is a special project, not a recall.

So far we have replaced the belt. Clothes have never come out clean. High Efficiency... Yeah, we have to put it on extra rinse to rinse all the soap out or wash twice because the clothes just do not get clean. Now it stops right before it drains after the wash. So I had to pull out clothes and use pitchers to get water out before we could tip forward and pull hoses to drain the rest. We checked hoses and connections. All lights work, it did a wash cycle, and again stopped before the drain. Really. All I got was “Didnt you take out the extended warranty?” Well, No I did not. Why would I consider the fact that MAYTAG would need repairs within the first 3 years. Its not like I do a lot of wash. Or have big bulky items. I have a laundry mat close by for that stuff, because it wouldnt get it clean anyway. Never again…

I purchased the Maytag Bravos top load washer and the matching dryer at Home Depot back in 2009 after giving my son my very old Maytag washer and dryer that was running just fine. I liked the top load energy efficiency idea of the new Bravos and the large capacity of both the washer and dryer. Also, the Maytag name sold me, gave me confidence I was purchasing a quality product... WRONG. When it was delivered, there was damage to the dryer door, so a new one was ordered and mailed directly to me. Once it came in, I called to have someone come put it on. First issue, not a really big deal but disappointing.About one month into using the dryer, the top of it became so hot it could literally burn your hand. There was also an error message. I had purchased a one-year warranty, even though technically there is a manufacturers warranty on the product. A part had to be replaced in the panel. This happened twice. We then moved out of state for one year and the washer and dryer stayed in storage unused during that time.Fast forward to 2014 and the washer will not complete any cycle except the spin cycle. I keep getting an error message of OL which means overload. The machine is NOT overloaded. It literally takes me hours to get through one cycle of washing clothes. And they dont even come out clean. I called Maytag repair and they offered me a one-year warranty for $363.75 since the washer is having issues. They explained to me if its the control panel the cost alone for that is $383.00 not including labor. Also, the dryer take forever to dry. I have to run each load through a cycle twice to dry everything. So much for the energy efficiency of these machines. At this point, I am considering just buying another washer, something cheaper without all the fancy bells and whistles. I am terribly disappointed in Maytag.

My husband bought me a brand new Bravo Maytag washer and dryer from Home Depot in November 2010. In May of 2011, we moved and the dryer hookup was electric instead of gas. My husband knew how much I love the dryer, so he surprised me with another Bravo dryer to match the washer. We put the other dryer in storage and were happy with our purchase until April. In April 2012, the dryer stopped working. It wouldnt dry the clothes at all, and every time we tried to dry, the dryer was filled with wet lint. We were only a week away from moving again, so we waited until we got to the new house. The new house had gas hookups. So, we put the dryer that didnt work in storage and were thankful we didnt get rid of the other dryer. Now, just a few months later, the gas dryer isnt drying and is having the same issues as the electric dryer. How very disappointing! Both dryers are broken now, and it has only been 2 years. Each dryer has gotten about a year of use and then both quit. My husband, I and my two-year-old dont do that much laundry to break 2 dryers. My old GE washer and dryer lasted for years and is still working. We gave them to my husbands aunt who uses them and loves them. I agree someone should start a class action against Maytag. These issues are ridiculous!

It is impossible to dry clothes in the dryer without the worst wrinkles you can imagine. I have 2 of them and they are both horrible machines!! The drum spins too fast which causes the clothes to get stuck against the tumbler fins. The centrifugal force holds them there and they just ride around without tumbling in the drum. When the cycle is finished the clothes have been dryer while jammed up against the fins and they are so wrinkled you have to wash them again. The ONLY way to get them through a drying cycle without a tremendous amount of wrinkles is to stop the machine every 5-8 minutes and fluff the clothes around inside the drum by hand. DO NOT BUY!!

Our Maytag Bravo washer provided so little water, that our clothes were rarely clean. My husbands jeans gradually developed stains around the knees that never came out, and his white underwear & socks didnt come clean either. After about 3 years, the spin cycle developed a loud sound, like a jet taking off, which was so loud and forceful, it sounded like it was literally going to spin out of the machine. We got rid of the Maytag Bravo after 6-7 years, and Darryls jeans and underwear were clean after two washings. All heavy items, such as blankets, have to be watched over because they always get out of balance several times a wash. We kept the Maytag Bravo, although it wasnt great, and didnt dry clothes completely. These are not machines that you can put clothes in, and just walk away. You have to babysit your laundry.

Brand new washing machine model MHW8200FW purchased at Karls, a Ferguson subsidiary, in Madison, NJ end of June, 2017. I wanted to buy a top of the line machine and this is what the sales person recommended to me. Problems started soon after purchase. Initially I contacted Maytag because the machine wouldnt spin dry a cotton bath mat weighing 4.5lbs soaking wet. I was told I should put more items in the machine to help balance it. Well there WERE more items and the machine wouldnt spin dry them either. I tried every trouble shooting Maytag suggested. Having exhausted my nerves, I called for service. The technician came and said these machines are extremely sensitive and that sometimes they wont even run an empty cycle. He said this is a common complaint with these units. One of his suggestions was to take bath mats, duvets, comforters... articles like that to a laundromat.I did less than 10 wash cycles after his visit when the washer started having more issues and finally broke down completely. The technician who came this time wrote a repair order indicating a mechanical (Stator) AND electrical (Control Panel) breakdown ($500+ for the parts alone if the unit wasnt under warranty). He also stated that he had never seen such problems in a brand new machine.I contacted Maytag for an exchange. Maytag customer service wrote to me that the breakdowns are ... normal, with all the units we sell some may have a defect in the first couple of months... and refused to exchange my defective unit. I can accept that there may be a defect that will warrant a repair, but in this case there are multiple defects in separate systems - mechanical and electrical - within the first month of service. This shouldnt warrant any further discussion, only a quick replacement and an apology.

My husband and I purchased the Maytag dishwasher model #MDB7609AWW2 in December 2010. July 2012, the control panel would not operate. I called Sears to schedule a repair appointment. (I did not have an extended warranty.) After reading review after review of complaints about Maytag and control panel issues and learning it is a very costly repair, I called Whirlpool which now owns Maytag. (Be advised, Maytag is not the quality product it once was). Reviews also indicate that the replaced control panels are failing within 6 months to a year and a half. After talking to a person in the Maytag/Whirlpool service department, he suggested some things to do: unplug power, unlock control panel, etc. He determined it was most likely the control panel that needed to be replaced. I asked how long a new panel would last informing him of the complaints Id read. All he would tell me was that I had the option to buy an extended warranty. We have decided not repair the dishwasher and will replace it with a non-Maytag and non-Whirlpool brand. I will never buy Maytag or any products made by Whirlpool again. For a major component of the dishwasher to last only a year and a half is unconscionable.

I bought an off-white or light cream color gas Maytag stove about three years ago. When I first used it to boil some water for tea, the light colored grills turned black. And this is without cooking a full meal, merely boiling water. After a few more uses with light cooking, and a few spills on the cooktop, I discovered that it was simply impossible to clean. The glass on the oven door became discolored with the first use, and is also impossible to clean. I purchased several types of cleaning items and sponges, and nothing works. This is a disgusting stove. I hate it and I wish I never bought it. I will never purchase a Maytag anything ever again. Its the poorest and cheapest no-quality item - a total waste of money.

I dont think the manufacture even knows what that cycle means! Absolutely awful! Theres no difference between Delicates and any other cycle!Second, Deep fill cycle. If you select off on that cycle the clothes get hardly damp. HOW can you wash hardly damp clothes???? If you go with Deep fill, the washer is supposed to weigh your laundry 1st and ONLY pour the water according to the weight. Well.... you can put only 5 small items and the washer fills all the way to the top! What the hell is this???? How can few items fill such a ginormous washer???? It doesnt work! Im so pissed and want this washer out of my laundry room!

We purchased this oven (MGR5775QDS ) along with a Refrigerator/Freezer, Dishwasher and Microwave on 2007 when we remodeled our kitchen. Since then the Refrigerator had to be serviced twice, the Dishwasher had a recall for fire safety - repaired, but I still have a scorched bottom tray, and the oven after self cleaning once has warped and the racks will not hold anything with any weight without collapsing. Maytag sent me new racks about a year ago, but that didnt help. I grill most of my meals or cook on the stovetop but on the rare occasion we try and use the oven it’s a nightmare. We lost a Thanksgiving Turkey and Easter Ham and recently a lasagna and a glass pan. Every time we have one of these events I search the internet in hopes that there has been some kind of recall on this model. It’s not safe. When the 20 lb turkey came crashing down, my wife was nearly burned by the juices that splattered and the house filled up with smoke. Happy Thanksgiving from Maytag - everyone go stand outside in the cold for 1/2 an hour while we clear out the smoke in the house. Recently when the rack collapsed and hot lasagna came crashing down, the glass/pyrex tray broke and left a huge bubbly mess in the bottom of the oven. Yay Maytag, thanks again - ruined a dinner, broke a dish and since we can’t use the self clean option, spent the rest of the evening scrubbing out the oven... and eating takeout food on Valentine’s Day. Sounds like the perfect Romantic evening right? I am so sickened with this company. We purchased all Maytag appliances because of their reputation. But now they dont even stand behind their products. What a shame.

My less then 6 month old washer presented an error code and stopped working in mid November 2021, so I contacted Maytag and they sent a service man out to my house. The service man was distraught and said it the washing machine had catastrophic failure - they would order the parts and get it repaired. Early January I still had heard nothing, So I again contacted Maytag and they had no answer. On January 26th I finally received an email saying due to parts on backorder I had been approved a new washer and JB Hunt would be handling the delivery and disposal of the original washer. On Feb. 07 - I contact Maytag, yet again, due to not hearing anything for almost 2 weeks - They stated that the request was not submitted properly and it would be another 5 days before a representative would be in contact with me. I am currently still paying on this brand new washer that does not work on top of 4 + months of laundromat fees due to not having a functioning washing machine and I am nowhere closer than I was mid November to a solution for this washing machine. Two years ago I purchased a Maytag Top-Loading HE Low-Water washer. I have always taken great pride in the way my laundry looks and smells but since this purchase, my laundry no longer smells clean and fresh nor does it look clean. I have always used the same detergent and fabric softener (only now I use the HE version) and it served me well. I have read all of the directions and did as I was instructed. I cannot believe that anyone would actually think that you can do laundry with practically no water. Do the decision makers have not common sense at all? I didnt and still dont believe it but what choice did I have when all of the machines are now HE with low water. I think its terrible that consumers dont have a choice. I have come to realize that low water, HE washing machines actually waste more time, energy and money (detergent and fabric softener). My clothes are not clean, nor do they smell good when the wash cycle is finished so I have to wash them again, using more detergent, fabric softener and energy. The super fast spin that supposedly sucks out most of the moisture, also rumples my laundry with semi-permanent wrinkles (even on the low wrinkle setting) so clothes that never had to be ironed before, now need pressing. I find it remarkable that, with all of the detergent ads promoting washing clothes in cold water to save energy, we are told that if our clothes are not sufficiently clean in cold water in our HE washers, that we should try a warmer/hot temperature. Good luck with that because my machine has several temperature settings but only uses one - COLD! I cannot actually believe that with all of the technology that our society holds, we are going backwards in the basics of washing clothes. Terrible product, terrible quality, terrible results, terrible waste of time, resources and money. Why cant you just leave some things alone??

Since the day I bought the Maytag Bravos XL washer it never worked correctly. An entire year of several repair men, which half said there was something wrong and other half said nothing was wrong with it. Now it sits in my garage as the most expensive paperweight. After repeated requests, the Whirlpool company that owns Maytag now refuses to stand by their product, replace it, refund it or anything at all. They have washed their hands, yet I cannot wash my clothes in it!

Purchased new about 3 years ago, doesnt clean, ties clothes in knots, leaves white spots from softener that doesnt get wet sometimes after cycle, some areas are still dry after untying. Now error code 51 keeps appearing, service man 4 times replaced rps sensor as directed, nothing changes. Need a chain to drag behind truck, no technical support from Maytag or whirlpool. Old ones of 20 years still worked good, gave to niece. Lucky her.

Used the self cleaning, oven blew fuse and some other part, had to wait for almost 2 weeks for repair because of self cleaning liner is now peeling and leaving fine particles. Maytag said it was ok, they would not replace, the liner doesnt have a replacement part so Im going to have to buy a new oven to feel safe for my family meal.

Purchased the Maytag Bravos washer and dryer at Home Depot. Previously had a Maytag set that was 25 plus years old that still ran well but was rusting out due flooding. Figured Maytag had great products. Have had mine for 4 years now and had nothing but trouble. Paid countless service calls, mainly on washer, will work for a short while and then stop again. Cant put more than 4 towels, or 3 pairs of pants or basically anything or the codes start popping up. I am so angry that a product I paid a lot of money for is such a piece of crap. Maytag Company has been no help and I see with all the complaints on this site I am not the only one who feels this way. A class action suit would be great!

I do not recommend this product. I purchased them 2 years ago. Within one month, the drum stopped working on the dryer. This was covered under warranty. In the last month, though, I have noticed that there are blue stains on the new drum. I do not leave clothes in the dryer wet. Last week, the washer stopped agitating or cleaning clothes even though the cycle would still run. I called for a service call and paid $82 for this. I found out the transmission was not working. This is not covered under the warranty. The warranty for entire machine is only 1 year. The 2-10 year warranty only covers the drive motor and wash basket. I cannot understand why a transmission is not covered. I feel like they are not standing behind their product. Finally, after a lot of talking, I did get Maytag to agree to cover the cost of the transmission part; but I am still obligated to pay $150 for labor. Why are products not standing up to use as in the past? I am very disappointed with these products.

Bought the Maytag top load high efficiency washer (also matching dryer which works perfectly) brand new less than 6 months ago. It is the worst. It leaves swirl marks on my clothes that doesnt come out. Leaves part of clothing dry without being a large load! If I put sheets in there it blows up like a mushroom and leaves that part dry. I use the correct detergent. I had a serviceman, that the manufacturer suggested, check it and determined there is nothing wrong with it which only leads me to the conclusion that it is a poorly designed product. Spoke to a manager at Maytag that said the machine works fine. And because it is in a business setting there is nothing they can do. (What? If it worked fine, I wouldnt be here.) Called to company I bought it from... Theres nothing wrong with the machine plus we are closing the business so its the manufacturer warranty that you need to call them. I would have been happy with a exchange. Poor design, poor customer service.

Side by side refrigerator model #msd255oveu01. I bought this refrigerator Apr. 2011... The 1st year, the ice kept sticking in machine or freezing up. Now they have had to replace the modules 3 times. Once fall of 2012 and and again yesterday, 3/19/14 and they had to come back today to replace that one. I have called Maytag and they wont stand behind it since the warranty is over. I have told them that this is an ongoing thing with the ice maker and I have had to have it serviced ever since I have bought it. I told them from the git go that the ice maker needed replace. The ice dispenser also drops an ice cube on the floor on occasion and if I use crushed ice it jams up. This product is defective and is not a good product.

The digital display on our Maytag Washer model MVWB765FW, bought 3/22/2017, failed overnight (whilst the machine was not operating) after 3 1/2 years. A reputable firm came out and diagnosed the problem, their report concluded that the Control Board had failed and needed replacing: they provided a verbal quote of $525 [ ! ] to do that. The machine cost $600 and based on the expected life for washers (per Consumer Reports) of ten years would have a maximum residual value of $420 based on straight-line depreciation. The retailer from whom we bought the washer told us that he had contacted Maytag and asked them what they were prepared to do about this failure: a week later and absolutely no response from the manufacturer. Apparently Maytag has no concern for their customers or their own reputation. We made the mistake of buying this machine based on Maytag’s reputation and a ten year warranty which appears to cover only parts unlikely to fail! NO MORE MAYTAGS FOR US.

The light for high temp, heated dry and sanitize work, but the heavy, normal, light indicators will not light up. Im faced with either replacing the control board or control electronics. I was told Maytag is a quality product. I have not abused the product. The last dishwasher that I had lasted 10 years. I only purchased this one because of a remodel. I will most likely replace the control board since thats the defective part. It doesnt give me a good feeling about replacing the part since it’s obviously a defective part. My grandmother got a Maytag Bravos XL MVWB755 washer and from day 1 she had to call Maytag with issues due to residue left on the clothes. They told her to not use this setting... buy this detergent... only use cold water etc. Never did they offer a repair guy to come out. A year passes still having issues shes out of warranty. They now offer a repair guy but claim theyre going to charge her $90. Once she explains to them that she was never offered a repair guy & they shouldve done this before. They decided to waive this fee and send a repair guy. Once the technician comes out to the house they do absolutely nothing and they fill it up with water say we need to clean it and Ill come back out and do another diagnostic. When they come back all they do is fill it up with water get a glass check the water and say, Nope, no floating residue. Everythings fine. They then tell her she needs to get a water softener which is going to be hundreds of dollars. The technician also says do not use any other settings except for these two. Can someone please explain to me why they have all these dang buttons and settings if were not supposed to be using any of them and why all of the clothes come out with soap residue scummy residue all over them? The old washer never did this. It was a Kenmore and its the same water same everything but this Maytag washer is been nothing but problems. It leaves the residue which is stripped all over dark and white clothes, it is extremely loud, not all the clothes even get wet! Maytag is been extremely uncooperative with assisting my Nana. They tell her no one else not one other person is having this problem but when I look up this issue I find that about 2500 people on this forum are having very similar problems. Something has to be done. Maytag should have to take responsibility for this washer. The bottom line is it supposed to be an XL. When my grandparents are washing its only for two people. Theyre not even filling that washer up of all of the clothes are not even getting wet. It just goes to show you that the energy-efficiency that they claim is not working. The washers not getting enough water inside of it. Its not fully rinsing the clothes and no one should have to put the clothes in wash them then do a whole another rinse cycle just to get the dang soap off. So basically at this point she stuck having to do multiple washes using way more utilities than she should have to and Maytag is basically going to do nothing. It wont help her over the phone the technician is a joke and it looks like so many of you people are having the same issues.

We bought a Maytag Dishwasher - Model #MDB4949SHW a year and a half ago at a Home Depot Location. We had previously had a Whirlpool dishwasher for 13 years of heavy use, with no issues or difficulties. At the time we purchased our dishwasher, there were various different brands on sale, including the one we purchased. The sales rep at Home Depot advised us that although we could get a similar dishwasher for the same price, that this particular model had a 10 year warranty. When I heard that, all I heard was 10 worry free years. MY MISTAKE. I could never have imagined that a company such as Whirlpool would advertise a warranty, that in the end is made up of nothing but false advertising. We ran a cycle during the Christmas holidays, and detected a funny smell of burnt rubber but didnt know what to make of it. I googled the issue and some people had had experiences with perhaps a plastic utensil or some other plastic, being burned by the heating element, so I figured that its what might have happened. I ran another cycle the next day, and the smell was much less prominent so I thought the problem had gone away. The next time we ran a cycle, the water didnt drain. We called in a repair person, and was shocked to learn that both the drain pump and main control board needed replacing. We got in touch with Whirlpool and low and behold, the only items they cover are nonsense items such as the racks, drum, tub...etc....in other words, the parts that are actually responsible for the running of the machine, are not covered, neither is LABOUR. Therefore, in my opinion, their warranty is trash and should not be relied upon under any circumstances. We purchased a new dishwasher just a year and a half ago, and are left with a heap of junk in our kitchen. Our options? Either spend $600.00 to $700.00 on repairs, possibly more, or buy a new dishwasher. When I asked if there was anything they could do to at least mitigate my damages, I was told....Sorry for your inconvenience...but do you have any other questions. I dont have any other questions...but I do have have a comment.... Make your products better....and dont print warranties that are utterly rubbish, false, and only serve to mislead the consumer. Needless to say, we will not be buying any more appliances from this company. Their one and only goal is profit for their shareholders with no regard whatsoever for the consumer. If I could give it ZERO stars, I most certainly would. :)

Purchased my microwave in 2005 and seldom used it. However in the last few months, the halogen light which lights up the range surface has been flickering. When I asked an electrician doing other work around my house to repair it, he discovered that the halogen light is attached with a dual pin socket which is plastic. When the halogen light gets overheated (and halogen produces alight of heat) it melts the plastic. It has already melted some of the plastic socket. We bought our Maytag Neptune washer in 2005. We chose Maytag because of their reputation, their headquarters in Michigan, and because looking at the machines in the store, they seemed to be well built. Were we ever wrong! You would think paying $1000 for a machine would get you a product that lasts longer than 8 years! Our other washer (a Whirlpool) lasted 20 years and was still working. Im now consistently getting a 3e error code. In searching online, I found that this is a pretty universal problem and thought maybe Maytag had a recall on it. What a waste of valuable time. I did find out the machine was actually a Samsung. This seems like fraud. If I wanted a Samsung, thats what I would have purchased! Contacting Maytag Customer Service was like Land of the Stupid. After getting the runaround and being sent to a phone number and website that only covered Samsung I called Maytag again. I was put in contact with another person who could supposedly help me with the recall. Even though I told him what the problem was, he gave me the robot response about sending the GFCI plugin and told me, That should make your washer safe to operate. Seriously??? I replied, This wont fix the problem because THE WASHER DOESNT WORK and we got the recall part long ago. He then wanted to schedule a repair appointment. Not doing that, considering how stupid the Maytag reps I had talked to so far had been. Putting the hubby on the case, luckily hes pretty handy. On the upside, it was fun responding to the Maytag customer service survey that night, LOL. All of our other appliances are Maytag and they have all been great, but this washer is an unreliable piece of junk.

First Maytag washer we bought in 2003, worked flawlessly for 14 years, bought a new one in 2017 only because my wife wanted a bigger washer. Bought a Maytag top load MVWB765FW0. What a big mistake. In less than 3 years it has failed already. The water inlet valve went bad. Maytag offers no tech support because they want to charge you with a service call. I found out what was wrong by researching the problem and error code online and bought the part for $55.00 and fixed myself instead of them charging $100.00 just to show up at your door plus the part and labor. I bought the Maytag Bravos X, last year. The silver color and glass top fooled me into thinking this was better quality than it is. This washer is very easy to go out of balance. I had to open the top (easy) and install/glue a little styrofoam, to limit the amount the tub could travel. Second unresolvable problem is how to wash anything larger than ONE outfit. If you watch the videos, and read the information, this washer is supposed to flip your clothes so whats on top makes it to the bottom for agitation. Ha! Absolutely BS. Unless you wash a very small load single level. The clothes in a TYPICAL size load will sit exactly as you loaded it.the only attention the top layer of clothes is only sprayed with water, no agitation. Hope you dont have kids. Doesnt XL mean extra large? It sure does, you can wash one pair of extra large pants, and or one extra large shirt.

I purchased a Maytag Gemini gas range in July 2006. Rust has appeared on the bottom of both oven doors. I called Maytag customer service, realizing that my range was no longer covered by warranty. However, I feel the paint on a range, costing over $1,000, should last longer than 5 years. Customer service told me to call a repair technician. When I asked who would pay for this service call, they didnt even bother to respond to me. As I have read other reviews of dissatisfied Maytag Range owners, Im glad I didnt waste money calling a repair tech who would do nothing to help, but charge a $100 plus fee. The paint on a car, which is subjected to all kinds of weather, lasts much longer than 5 years. You would think the paint on an appliance inside a home should last much longer. This rust is becoming very unsightly. I will certainly not purchase a Maytag product again, as the company has proved they do not stand behind their product line.

One month after warranty we had our first issue which cost us $380. Kinda my fault I was told by repair guy... My bra underwire came out during wash and destroyed the part we had to replace. Then a year later during spin cycle it sounds like an airplane taking off for about 10 minutes. Its so loud we cant even hear our TV! So guessing its bearings gone bad now? Which is a very difficult part to replace. And pricey. So guessing a new washer is in our future. We previously owned a Maytag washer and had it for 15 years and it still worked fine, we just wanted to upgrade. Big mistake! I wouldnt wish this washer on my enemies. I think the repair guys sets it to mess up when they do this reset thingy. Lol. Cause within a month of the renewed warranty we purchased was expired is when the 2nd issue began. I think the older washer are better because all this newer technology stuff is crap!! My advice do not buy Maytag Bravos series washer unless youve got lots of cash for repairs!!

Maytag products are a waste of money! I purchased a Maytag Front Load Washer a couple of years ago during the Cash for Clunkers rebate where we were asked to give up our reliable machines for so called energy efficient new models. After spending over $1,000 on this fancy front load machine and having it installed, I go to use it the first time and it won’t work. It took me a month to get someone to come and repair the bad board on it. I then started to use it and after a year, the thing started making a horrible loud noise. I called the repair folks and they told me it is out of warranty. I called a local repair guy who told me that the drum is shot and that it will cost $700 to repair. So I got a total of 10 months of use out of this stupid thing. Thats $100 a month to do my laundry! I would be better of dry cleaning! I have searched the web and see that this is a common issue and that Maytag refuses to make this right. Well, I can choose to never buy a Maytag again. I hope that others will heed our advice and do the same.

We purchased this double-oven range (model: MGT8775XW01) about 5-6 years ago. It came with some slight bubbling on the plate that the control knobs go through/are mounted onto. A few years later, the bubbling paint began to chip/peel off - revealing rust (its a white range). I bought some touch-up paint, but that didnt look very good. Now that entire plate is bubbling and peeling and makes the whole range look like crap. My wife swears well never buy another Maytag product...EVER! Shes ripped! I cant seem to find the replacement part to purchase. Lousy products!

In 2011, we purchased this Maytag Centennial MVWC200XW1 washer. It will not complete the cycle when it goes into rinse and spin, will not empty water and once the cycle starts, it sounds like someone is inside with a hammer banging on the basket. Clothes come out with a powder residue on them and several pieces have had holes. Called Maytag and was told there was no service available in our area. I will never purchase another Maytag product. Used by two adults a couple of times a week, this machine should be trashed. I have to hand-wring our laundry as we cannot afford to replace at this point. My last washer was a GE and I had it for over 20 years, we replaced it because we moved into a new home thinking Maytag was the best out there. I checked for a recall because there are so many complaints on other sites but found none. We purchased from Home Depot and of course, they are no help.

I bought a set of 4 Maytag kitchen appliances. Terrible quality. Dishwasher racks poorly designed for anything except standard size dishes. Microwave has a hotspot and explodes whatever Im reheating. But refrigerator is the worst. According to my service man, Maytag is aware of known issue with poor quality evaporator coils that erode quickly, leaking freon. Causes problems with ice buildup in freezer, poor ice production until it loses enough freon to stop chilling correctly causing food spoilage. Im to that point now. This fridge is only good for offshore fishing site. Whirlpool is aware but will stall as long as possible, then refuse replacement, but they will offer to help you replace the appliance. HA! Fool me once, shame on you. Twice, shame on me.

I want to document my experience with Maytag refrigerator model # 1958XEW1
I want to document my experience with Maytag refrigerator model # 1958XEW1 and serial # K12947360. I purchase this refrigerator several years ago as a result of a recommendation of a general contractor who was doing kitchen remodeling work for me. After doing a brief online research on Maytag I went to Yale Electric a store in Boston to purchase a Maytag refrigerator. Worst mistake I ever made and I will never buy a Maytag product again (sad to say). This refrigerator has been leaking since the day it arrived from the store. Unfortunately for me I didnt notice the fridge leaking until after the warranty had expired (my bad). The leak was such as I could not isolate or say it was the fridge because the water would pool in an area that was away from the frig on my kitchen floor. One day by coincidence I actually saw the fridge leak so then I knew the water on my floor was coming from the fridge. I contacted Maytag who mentioned by that time my warranty had expired, however other people who had purchase this fridge model were experiencing the same problem. Maytag said that this leak problem could be fixed by changing the tubing located in the freezer section of the refrigerator to what they called a duckbill type of tubing. So I had that part sent to me and it was installed in the refrigerator freezer area. As you can imagine because I am writing this negative review that the water leak problem was not corrected and there is still water pooling on my floor from this refrigerator. I will never buy a Maytag product again and I wanted to share this experience with other potential buyers of Maytag products.

Our control panel just went out...purchased in November 2015. From reading reviews it appears our only option is to purchase a new control panel and hope for another two years. Ours (MDB7749SBM3 Dishwasher) was purchased from Sears and was not cheap. When is Maytag going to recall this panel? I read reviews that this problem goes back to 2011.

I always thought Maytag was the best, maybe because of their ad. Finally, I bought a refrigerator two months ago, which has turned into a nightmare. The company has sent a tech six times and they all say that it is a bad design which makes my vegetable drawer full of water because of moisture. And they refused to do anything about it every time (bad management). They have already spent more money on service than what I paid for the refrigerator. Figure that out.Do not buy Maytag. It was the biggest mistake I made. I also bought a washer and a dryer at the same time. I wish I could send them all back because of the ignorant people they have working for them in their complaint and service office. Anybody out there, if you want to buy an appliance, make sure it is not Maytag.

We used to own a Neptune Model. After always leaving the door opened and following the recommended monthly cleaning and many extra cleanings with diluted bleach and water, we could not get the smell out. We paid for a new seal, Advice from Washing Machine Repair service even though we paid a lot for an extended warranty. We had to pay for this ourselves. We also had our year to year maintenance. Because we could not fix the issue, nor would MAYTAG, we donated the set to donated it to Salvation Army.We decided to give MAYTAG another chance, so we purchased a brand new FRONT-LOAD WASHER and DRYER in 2014. As I would repeat the same regiment, I would notice little black specks, so I would clean it an extra time with Afresh. I have continued to this date, repeating the same regiment of keeping my washer clean and serviced as we should, I now have the whole tray dispenser spotted with LARGE black goo that smells. So I have continued to clean my Washer. After returning home from the Cleveland Clinic, I was ready to do our laundry from the trip, more black goo and smell coming from my Maytag front-load washer. My sister had stayed with my 86 year old mother and had wash a load of towels while we were gone. She left the door opened also as she was instructed many times, and that is how we found it. So I took the dispenser tray out as usual and bleached it and scrubbed it. As I did this I noticed bigger areas of goo. I looked in the dispenser housing and OMG it was covered with black mold. I am appalled that our $900.00 Washing Machine is like this. This IS BLACK MOLD, There is no way to remove this mold. I have the sides and bottom cleaned with bleach, BUT I cannot get into the multiple crevices.I called Maytag and I was initially told by a Maytag Customer Service Person said that it sounds like BLACK MOLD and MAYTAG COULD DO NOTHING! I asked to speak with a supervisor. At first she seemed a little put off, but as we talked she became more pleasant, I offered to send pictures or a video of the WASHER WITH THE BLACK MOLD and she said no. She told me to pour bleach into each dispensing compartment and the drum. Then run a wash with no clothes on all HOT WATER 2 times, then rinse 2 times and this should get rid of it and to also leave the dispenser drawer open a crack as well as the door after each wash. The Supervisor said ok and thanked her for her help. Then she said good luck and thanks for calling MAYTAG. Ive did and already do everything our Washer manual says to do on cleaning and maintenance of my expensive Maytag Washer and dryer. The manual says nothing about leaving the dispenser drawer open a little so it dries. The bottom of the housing looks great from doing this, along with me scrubbing it until 5:00 am with diluted bleach water. However, in the MANY SEAMS, CREVICES, THE SCHUTE AND POSSIBLY THROUGHOUT THE WASHING MACHINE IS BLACK MOLD that we cannot access without disassembling the machine and voiding our extended warranty.MOLD GROWS RAPIDLY and causes many illness. I already have an ongoing illness since childhood, I take care of my 86 year old mother, my husband just finished cancer treatment in January. We certainly do not need any other health issues. I called my local Appliance repair company and they said that they normally do not handle anything like this, but if my husband couldnt take the outside of the machine off then the top I could pay for a repair person to come out to take it apart then call and have them come back to put it back, pay them again to reassemble our Washer.I believe Whirlpool in its purchase of Maytag has taken a Monkey on its back. Maytag will do nothing, why should they? They already have their money from when we purchased our machines along with money from many other consumers who also have ongoing issues with their WHIRLPOOL/MAYTAG Front-Load washing machines. It is undignified and deceitful how they treat their consumers with such disregard when we have filled their pockets by being loyal customers.Word of mouth is good or bad advertisement for any company. Everyone who has unresolved issues of any kind can write a formal complaint to the CEO and President of Whirlpool/Maytag. The address is on the internet. Shame on Whirlpool/Maytag for taking many consumers hard earned money, when apparently some of Whirlpool/Maytags money is ill gained by developing and manufacturing a consumer product that causes black mold and marketing it to sell to us, the consumer. THIS IS A SERIOUS ISSUE WHIRLPOOL/MAYTAG. OWN UP!!! My advertisement begins today!!!

Maytag Cenntenial Washer - We traded our super capacity for the ex-large Maytag washer and we have great regrets. We posted it on Craigslist about 4 months after we bought the unit and NO ONE would buy it for $300.00 even though we paid close to $600, and only 4 months old? What does that tell you? I have had to add 5 gallons (bucket) with each wash to make sure all the soap washes out. Very loud, takes a long time to wash and just worthless. This last weekend, we tried to trade it for a used $150 agitator washer with a used appliance store and they said theyd never be able to sell it and refused the trade. What does that tell you about the washer?

Machines highly rated by Consumer Reports and bought on sale. They were a very good value. Both W & D have steam feature but find Ive rarely used it. Durability is key, as is the ability to balance wide variety of loads, which our machines do well. Capacity of 5 cu ft or better sufficient for a household of 2. Maytag reputation for durability and reliability and made in US, though a clone of Whirlpool. These are big, heavy machines, best for side by side but they can be stacked. The units are quiet, have more features than weve ever used and so far have been reliable, gentle on clothes incl delicates and drum bearings really help with keeping loads balanced. Door hinges built like a tank but the chassis theyre attached to arent up to par. W & D have stainless drums. Bought the washer in February 2012 for $900 at a local appliance store, delivery included. Just yesterday (10/16/15) a 5 cent piece of grey plastic flew out of the lid lock mechanism. Thinking this $900 modern piece of machinery painstakingly designed by intelligent people with university degrees would certainly work if I just stuck the plastic part back in. I just popped it back in, the lid locked, and the machine spun away happily (only having to run a correct cycle for an unbalanced load twice! What joy!) Fast forward 40 minutes, I skip down the stairs to go retrieve my flannel sheets (because its October in Pennsylvania, its getting freezing cold at night) and pull up gently to open the lid. It doesnt budge. About 2 hours later, following a screaming match and some furious googling, it was determined we would need two people to pop the entire top off the machine to extract my sheets. So in order to use the washer to clean clothing now, weve been unplugging the machine. Removing the three screws on the control panel (aka brainbox), unplugging the black and white wire from the brain box, taking the control panel off and sitting it on the dryer, and using putty knives to push in the metal clips holding down the top of the machine down, and prying the entire top of the machine back on its hinge. Then I can get my clothes out. Then doing so in reverse (dont forget to add detergent before shutting the lid! It will lock and you will have to pop the entire top off again.) to use the washer. All because of a 5 cent piece of PLASTIC. What brainchild figured, Eh, we can just use plastic for this important piece that the washer wont run properly without. It doesnt matter!? Someone that wanted to make $300 a pop doing service calls thats who.I cant believe Maytag has gone so far down the tubes. In case anyone else ran into this problem and needs to fix it, write down the model number, serial number, and other crud listed under the lid. Then use them to wipe while youre in the bathroom. All you need is the company and part number on the lid lock mechanism. According to Maytags website my washer doesnt exist. And there was no way, no matter how creatively I googled, to find a part for it with the Maytag model number. So now I have to try to find this measly mechanism to replace and try to use this piece of crud for a few more months. I guess my Christmas present this year is buying a new washer. And you can BET it will not be a Maytag. And two more things: with no agitator, you can fit really big stuff, but you also get to hear your washing machine dancing on your basement floor with an uneven load. No matter how many times you try to re-position items, it runs a corrective cycle, refills with water, and spins everything into a ball AGAIN. Also, the miserable thing is starting to rust. Right on the sides and near the lid hinge, and all around the bleach receptacle. How cheap, a washer on which the paint rusts right off with chlorine bleach.I wish I still had my Grandpas old 1930s wringer Maytag. At least I knew that one would work without a cheap piece of plastic. And at this point I might prefer wringing my clothes to hearing my washer try to escape. In short: cheap parts, no replacements available through company for DIY repairmen, company designed to force customers to use their servicing for $300 a pop. 1/10 would NOT recommend Maytag.

We purchased the Bravos XL washer just over a year ago. It is being replaced 1/10/2017. Simply put this is the worst product I think I have ever encountered. Extremely noisy wash cycles leave residue on the clothes, clothes do not get wet in some spots. This washer is so noisy you can hear it from outside. What an embarrassment. You have to run the clothes twice first with detergent and again without detergent to remove the residue left over from the first wash cycle (not energy efficient at all). If I could give a minus score like minus 10 I would.

Diagnosis after this appointment for the pump replacement is clutch, rotor & stator are fried.Nov 18th, new rotor came in and Technician says although brand new in box, it is defective from factory. New one ordered. In meantime I have called maytag every week with no results, they tried to get me to accept 100.00 gift card, I laughed, as we are a family of 6 and generally have 6-8 loads a week. And have spent on average 70.00 a week for the last 14 weeks, we could have bought another washer by now. Last maytag lasted 16 years! This one 3 months...They finally decided to replace it, but we wont recieved it for another 4-5 weeks. So, 20 - 22 weeks of no brand new washer bought in good faith, brand rep, and paid for based on prior experience. So far, No customer service, No brand reputation, No product longevity. Its a shame that I bought into the Maytag equals quality and customer service falsehood. Same problem as the others on this site and undoubtedly thousands of other consumers that bought a similar refrigerator freezer combo only to discover puddles in front of the unit and a 1 thick slab of ice under the freezer drawer. I contacted Maytag parts and when I described the issue he transferred me to warranty. The warranty department acknowledged this was a known problem and they would supply the part, no charge for the part but I would have to pay the serviceman to install it. They would not however, send the part to me to install. The unit is out of warranty, of course it develop the problem until right after the warranty expired. I plan to examine the drip pan and figure out how to improve on the design myself. I will not replace any appliances with Maytag, Whirlpool, Kenmore, or any other major appliances from this group of companies... Beware!

February 2011, I purchased a washer from Lowes and started having problems with the washer leaking and skipping cycles on the first week. Lowes exchanged the washer end of first week. The new washer started with not adding water in wash cycles. The repairmen sent by Maytag could not find any problem with the washer. The washer worked off and on for months with problems. Cycles with bleach added worked fine, but 3 or 4 loads later with no bleach having been added, it would produce bleach-stained clothes. The repairman came out again and could find the cause for skipping cycles, but suggested I run clean cycle every time I use bleach. It defeats the purpose of purchasing an HE water-efficient washer. The third repairman sat and watched the unit run a load and then he said I know what is wrong. He took the washer control panel apart and found the wire harness was not properly connected from tub to control panel. I have not found what causes bleach stains 3 loads after the bleach was put in the washer. I will not recommend this unit to anyone because of manufacturing problems with harness assembly.

This has been the worst washing machine I have ever owned!!! Purchased 3 years ago and this is the 3rd time the bearings dont work again. It make loud clanking noises. Then fails to spin at all. The first time it broke was the 1st year we owned it. It is sitting in our hallway and I can hardly wait for it to leave my house. Talked to the local appliance dealer and they never recommends these washers. I told dealer I must have gotten a lemon. He replied that it wasnt a lemon, that the machine tubs have gotten so much bigger and they have needed to upgrade the bearing system and are unwilling to do it. Dealer has highly recommended the Speed Queen. Based on the stellar reviews that is what will be coming to our house today. I can hardly wait. I know, its just a washing machine but frustration has overcome me. The Speed Queen has no plastic parts. We went with the knob style as opposed to the electronic push buttons. Less to go wrong. The warranty on the Speed Queen is top of the line, 5-year parts and labor. The salesperson didnt even try to sell me a warranty. No need to. Speed Queen stands by their product. I only recommend the Maytag Bravo XL if you dont have enough stress in your life.

The water level does not rise enough to effectively clean or rinse so clothes do not get cleaned or detergent doesnt rinse out thus allowing only 2 to 3 towels or jeans to wash per load. Such ineffective cleaning cycles create the ongoing need for loads to be rewashed and be extremely small, yielding credence to other consumers’ accusations of being mislead and false advertising of xl capacity. As such, it takes hours to wash a family of threes clothes. The machine shakes like crazy and clothes get ruined as they get twisted and tangled into each other ripping, tearing, misshaping and ruining them.
