The washer is very aggressive - it will tangle the clothes and actually tear them if they are thin. There is little control with the speed or water temperature or with the amount of water for a load of clothes.

After less than 3 years the interior lip of the machine is rusting. I found this when I was cleaning the interior of the machine because my white clothes were coming out with black soot on them. I can estimate that bleach was used in the dispenser 3-4 times tops over these 3 years. Very disappointed in the equipment. Ive submitted a complaint to Maytag with hopes of a favorable response. This should not be a warranty item...its defective design.

I purchased a Maytag Bravos 5 months ago. I had trouble at first with unbalanced loads. The repair man came to look at it twice. One thing that can unbalance your loads is if small pieces of laundry such as a sock gets outside the basket. Sometimes the basket has to be taken all the way out because small pieces can be lodged under the basket. This happens when you fill the machine too full and those small pieces float to the top.The suspension on my machine ended up needing to be replaced. I have read lots of reviews about soap rings in the clothes. That happens from using too much soap. Make sure you are using HE detergent for one. I cut way back on my soap and my laundry gets clean and no problems with residual soap on my clothes. I was very unhappy with my machine at first but now I absolutely love it!

I have a Maytag refrigerator that is 7 years old. It works fine except it needs a new freezer door gasket. In trying to get the part so it can be repaired I discovered that they had chosen to discontinue production of this part. I can no longer get it anywhere. They were the most unhelpful customer service I have ever worked with. They refused to try to find a part for another model that may work. They refused to offer a discount on a replacement product. They even refused to give me a phone number to talk to management. I had always been a loyal customer to their brand prior to this but I will never again purchase a Whirlpool or Maytag product. I dont expect not to have an issue but I do expect the ability to be supported in obtaining a commonly replaced part for a major appliance that is less than 10 years old.

I purchased the Bravos X washer approximately 13 mos ago. Washer was noisy and has deteriorated since installation. I questioned the ability of a non agitator appliance getting close clean but was assured it would. Not the best if clothes are just moving against clothes. The machine had a difficult time in between adjusting to wash balancing a 3x event upon starting. It leaked intermittently during spin cycles and stopped due to unbalanced loads, sometimes refilling and stopping again. Now it wont spin at all, circuit board problems! This is my first and last Maytag. The company will most likely not balance/compensate on the purchase price (like the Bravos X) because it is beyond the 12 mos warranty.

I have a Maytag Bravos XL and have white residue on all the clothes that get washed in this machine since I purchased it. I have always used HE Detergent and have followed all Maytags recommendations to reduce the white residue to no avail. I had to wash my clothes 5 times to get the residue off of my clothing and 4 of those were without any detergent and on all temperatures and wash cycles. Model # MVWB835DW.

First we design the cheapest, flimsiest drawer possible on the bottom of the stove. Then we mount it on cheap plastic guides on a flimsy metal track. What a joke! Listen, drawers have been around over 700 years. If you cant do better than that, you need to look for another line of work.

1 year 4 month old fridge went out. Waited a month for part/repair. No help from customer service. $1200 fridge, $700, lots of angry calls, no luck. Customer service is horrible. I bought a Maytag Bravos washing machine from Lowes in Ocala in Feb 2017. It broke in March 2017. I was referred to a company called Fields Appliance in Orlando Fl. I scheduled a repair under warranty last Friday between 1-4 pm. No one showed up. No one called. I called and called and nothing. BEWARE.

Purchased a Maytag Bravos 300 quiet series and am totally dissatisfied. I have a bandsaw, router and several saws in my workshop and by far my Maytag washer can drown them all out with the noise it makes. On top of all this it does not complete its cycles before it shuts off and if you try to restart it you never know where in the cycle it is going to start at. This may occur six or seven times before you are able to complete one wash. It may take a day to wash one load of clothes. Maytag should refund the total purchase price of this piece of junk!

Purchased a Maytag dishwasher (Model #MDB7749SAW1) in January of 2013, installed in February. A little over a year later the control panel went out. I called Maytag and they were kind enough to pay for the part and I had to pay for the service. Now it is July of 2015 and the control panel is going out again. I called Maytag directly and talked with a service representative and the best they could do for me was for $269.95 they would have it fixed and I would have a one year warranty as well. Based on the pattern the warranty is not going to help as it goes out just after a year. For only having it 2 1/2 years it is becoming a very expensive dishwasher. There should be a recall on this control panel. Very disappointed.

After purchasing this washer in 2007, the washer started to smell like sewage. At first we werent sure it was the washer and had a company come out to check the pipes. After this and calling Maytag complaining without any luck. We were told to buy affresh tablets and run it through the washer once a month. This last only so long and the smell comes back. Now when the washer goes into the spin cycle it sounds horrible. Again called Maytag without getting any resolve. I will never buy a Maytag again!

We have purchased several washer/dryer sets in the past decade & will never purchase another Maytag. After 3 years of very light use, it stopped working. We had a certified Maytag repairman come & tell us we needed a $600 circuit board replaced. We reluctantly paid for it and 3 months later, intermittent problems began. Plus, it is obnoxiously loud. The repairman said this is normal. Randomly stopping the cycle, not starting the cycle at all without multiple restarts ... the list goes on. The 3 Lg sets we have bought are awesome. Maytag may have been king in the 60s, but the quality of their products has tanked. Dont waste your money on their products.

I put a lot of thought into my new dishwasher and decided to go with what I thought was one of the best. At just over the 1 year mark the rinse aid stopped dispensing product. Now after another 6 months the controls are not working. Being a widow living alone on a limited budget, I am not putting hundreds of dollars into getting this piece of junk repaired. No more Maytag for me.

First off, everyone seeing this should be fuming as I am because we are mostly in the same boat with these control panel issues. Mine is Maytag model MDB7749SBM3 about 575.00. A little bit cheaper than most of you because I purchased at the online and had a rebate. About a couple months after the warranty expired, we started having weird light issues with the control panel where are one light would pop up when you didnt hit it or other lights would pop up when you hit something else. We kept dealing with it thinking that it would dry out and resolve itself. Lo and behold, just like it appears to be tens of thousands perhaps hundreds of thousands of machines, it quit. I read this consumer affairs post after it quit and now I know why it did. I opened up the control panel and sure enough, the little ribbon that connects all the electrical connections had brown on the back like it was burnt through. I was able to find a special 1 800 number that Whirlpool has set up because they have purchased Maytag and the woman I spoke with said they would send a technician out and that I was responsible for the diagnostic fee. I was born but it wasnt yesterday. I immediately said to the woman, Absolutely unacceptable. I am NOT paying for anything, very politely highlighting the fact that I know they settled a class action lawsuit in California regarding a control panel issue and there are hundreds maybe thousands of complaints on consumer affairs.com. The woman place me on hold, I am assuming to speak with her supervisor and then let me know that they would pay for the diagnostic fee. She said a repair date for me for about a week and a half later. The repairman had a good day because the dishwasher was already disassembled for him and he proceeded to take pictures and call Maytag. Maytag told him that I was responsible for the installation cost and service fee which according to the technician is about a hundred bucks. I told the technician that is fine but it will not be fine when I call Maytag back. I have not spoken to Maytag about the hundred dollars needs to file a claim for a new dishwasher and associated damages. I have not spoken to Maytag about the hundred dollars but I am only on this to let you know that every single one of us needs to file a claim for a new dishwasher in associated damages in small claims court. I plan on filing a claim for approximately $700 for a new dishwasher and damages. In my opinion, I feel like we should all do this, otherwise big corporations like this will continue to shovel garbage into the stores left and right.Have a good day and good luck with your court case hopefully. I bought this after having a Frigidaire for 40 years and was immediately disappointed upon installation. This OVEN, not a range, was smaller inside and a lot of new pans would not fit! I have replaced the burners and the bulb wiring several times. Would not buy another one!

I just got the washer 2 days ago! Its horrible! What type of quality assurance dept are running? Or is there even a QA team?? I put a big load and selected Hot & Power wash. There was hardly any water. It was cold. The detergent nor softener never dispensed. This is the worst washer ever!!!

A month ago I purchased a 25 cu ft side by side. First the recirculating fan quit. It was repaired. But the water and ice hose in the door froze and cracked the entire freezer door. Must be replaced, unfortunately they dont have any, so I was quoted 6 weeks for a new door, that has turned into 12 weeks and they cant guarantee me a date. I requested a replacement fridge and was told, They cant do that. I purchased the full Maytag package - stove, dishwasher, microwave. I expect better customer service than that, Take a door off the assembly line and ship it to me.

Recently started having puddles of water on floor every morning. Just noticed a thick sheet of ice on freezer floor when I had trouble closing the freezer door. Also the water dispenses very slowly. Removed filter and it would not dispense at all. Will try melting the sheet of ice to see if that helps. Purchased 2011.

I bought this MMV4205BAB microwave thinking Maytag was a good brand and I wanted an over the range type. Problems began when it would stop in the middle of a cooking cycle. I called the repairman as it was under warranty. It was decided by the repairman that the weight of thing was too great for its thin frame, not letting the door close correctly. I got a new one and it, from day one, would make a shorting sound every time anything was cooked, on the stove top, under it, while it was on. It finally just shorted out. I have a Maytag washer and dryer that are also junk. So, needless to say, Maytag, 3 strikes and youre out. I will never have another Maytag product and I let others know what a great product it is.

It is impossible to dry clothes in the dryer without the worst wrinkles you can imagine. I have 2 of them and they are both horrible machines!! The drum spins too fast which causes the clothes to get stuck against the tumbler fins. The centrifugal force holds them there and they just ride around without tumbling in the drum. When the cycle is finished the clothes have been dryer while jammed up against the fins and they are so wrinkled you have to wash them again. The ONLY way to get them through a drying cycle without a tremendous amount of wrinkles is to stop the machine every 5-8 minutes and fluff the clothes around inside the drum by hand. DO NOT BUY!!

Almost 2 years ago this dishwasher wouldnt drain. Fixed that $300. Then just over a year ago control panel had to be replaced. Now control panel was bad again, had to rest circuit to get it to start. I see this is a common problem. Only 2 of us in the house and the dishwasher gets used only 2-3 times a week since we purchased brand new in December 2011. Ordered the new control panel and just went to replace it, guess what. This appliance could have burnt our house down. The wiring in the door that plugs into the control panel is burnt! Not at the panel at all but a good 8 down the wiring harness. Both harnesses as well. Scared me half to death! To think it could have killed us at night, when we usually run this appliance. Definitely calling Maytag now. I do have pictures as well.

I always thought Maytag was the best, maybe because of their ad. Finally, I bought a refrigerator two months ago, which has turned into a nightmare. The company has sent a tech six times and they all say that it is a bad design which makes my vegetable drawer full of water because of moisture. And they refused to do anything about it every time (bad management). They have already spent more money on service than what I paid for the refrigerator. Figure that out.Do not buy Maytag. Maytag microwave MMV4205BAB - I purchased this microwave in 2007. By 2009, the whole inside was peeling down to the metal. Under the glass plate, the bottom is all rusted. Ive called customer service every year since 2009 and they say the same thing. No extended warranty, nothing they can do. They acknowledged that this was not normal, but they did nothing! Do not buy anything from Maytag. If you do, buy all of the expensive warranties or you will be sorry like I am.

This product has been a huge disappointment, from day one. It wrinkles and tears clothes beyond recognition. When I called Maytag to complain, they tried to up sell me a service contact. I explained that it works fine, as a shredder, but it is just a bad design and asked if Maytag had any recalls. He then told me if I purchase the service agreement and they cant fix it then they will refund the $$... ITS NOT BROKEN. It was crap when we got it home. Our home has seven Maytag appliances: an upstairs kitchen, downstairs suite and laundry room. All were brand new six years ago and what we thought to be good quality by the price we paid for them. We have lived to regret ever dropping a cent into Maytags business account, as we have had nothing but trouble with them. We dont have small kids or teenagers abusing them. Its just us and a very responsible single adult downstairs. And every time we turn around, one of them is costing us nothing but money and grief. Our first problems began with our upstairs fridge when it was only two years old. At that time, it cost us $400 and since then, it just goes on and on. Last week, our downstairs fridge quit, and today, our upstairs one quit. We have had work done on our range, as well as our washing machine and dishwasher. If you are thinking of buying a Maytag appliance, dont, unless you like to throw away your money. I couldnt believe when I looked up Consumer Reviews on Maytag appliances tonight that I would find only 1 out of 5 stars, and read all the terrible reviews written by angry consumers. Well, add me to the list because I will never buy another appliance from Maytag again, and am beginning to think its time to sell this house to get rid of these stupid, useless, pieces of ** Maytag appliances! Sorry, people, but I cant afford to keep replacing them!

I bought a Maytag Neptune washer and dryer set in 2001. I had horrible mold issues with the washer not long after, and the colors washing setting cant be used without the clothes coming out with a smell that implies they were not cleaned. The dryer lasted about a year longer, before it stopped heating the air and also would not stop running. I will never buy from Maytag again! Much the same as many other consumers have commented, I would give it less than one star if that is an option!

I have always had faith in Maytag when it comes to appliances. As of yesterday, it is gone. We purchased the Bravos XL dryer in January 2013. Last weekend it was running, but not drying. We placed a call for a serviceman to come fix it. Discovered the heating element had gone out on it. We had to pay $300 for the repair. I am greatly disappointed a $1,000+ dryer is already having issues. Maytag should stand behind this problem and offer to pay for the damages, as from reading the reviews, it looks like this is an ongoing problem. Maytag should be ashamed of providing a product of such poor quality.

I have had my washer and dryer for more than 5 years. As normal, over time, stuff wears out and parts need to be replaced. The manual doesnt list part numbers that are needed. The website doesnt pull up part numbers when you type in the model number. After paying for overnight shipping that isnt guaranteed (and was more than the part itself), it didnt show up until a couple of days later and it was the wrong part. I would have to pay for shipping costs of the return, now tripling the cost of the actual part. Calls to customer service were not at all helpful as all they could say was that I would have to pay for the return shipping and they were sorry there was nothing they could do. I wont be purchasing anything from Maytag ever again.

Gave up a very good old washing machine to update to a newer one and so we got the Maytag bravos 300. I thought Maytag was a very dependable name and product. The warranty went out. 2 weeks later, the water pump went out. I had to pay to have it replaced. Then after that it started making noise that got louder and louder and now it sounds like a thrashing machine. And now it has started leaking water out of the bottom. So its going in the scrap pile. What a loss of money - the worst investment I have made. For what I paid for this machine, it should have lasted for many years to come. The washer I had before this Maytag I had for 16 years - no problems at and it still worked great when I gave it away. Maytag use to be a brand you could count on. Great craftsmanship has been taken away and monetary gain has taken over. I hope no one else has to go through this nightmare that I have. Maytag they should have to give peoples money back that we all worked hard for. Going with a LG now, hope its a good machine.

My Maytag dishwasher model MDB7749SBM2 was two months out of one year warranty and the Whirlpool control panel went out. We replaced it for 80.00. 3 months later same issue. We had that replaced for free. 4 months later same issue. We had to fight but got that replaced for free. Now 2 months later same problem. It cleaned wonderful when it worked. I will never buy another Maytag or Whirlpool. I used to buy nothing but Maytag. We threw it out tonight. Tired of a dishwasher that is only part time.

I have always used Maytag products at home and work. I have never had a problem like this one. The front load washers have a manufacture default with the boot that allows mold to grow even when it is wiped out as instructed. I have contacted other people and they have the same problem. I will not or ever buy a front load Maytag again and could never recommend this product to anyone. I feel that the Maytag company should replace the boot with a different design; at no cost to the consumer! This machine was only a year old. I have no problem with the company I bought it from. They replaced the boot with a bill of $358.65.

I bought this Maytag refrigerator model MF 12269FRB00. It is not, user friendly, meaning that condiments and small bottles just dont fit conveniently in any space, The biggest issue is the ice maker. The ice maker shoots ice out on each and every attempt. Every time you want ice you are guaranteed to have ice shoot out of your glass on to the floor. I often challenge my guests to get ice without the cubes shooting out of the glass. No one has ever won. Dont buy this piece of crap, unless you find humor in having ice on your floor every time. Shout out to Grays Appliance in Melrose for selling crap! I will never buy from them or Maytag again. To the engineers who designed this product, you suck too!

I purchased a Maytag Microwave Oven MMV5208 WS 1 from Home Depot less than two years ago. Mine was actually manufactured in April 2013 according to the ID tag. A couple of months ago it started acting up because a switch when the door closes began to malfunction and you had to open and close the door several times to get the microwave started. Then all of a sudden when you set the timer and pushed the start button it would flash on and immediately shut off. This is extremely frustrating because I paid more than $400.00 and purchased it less than two years ago. I am disappointed because Maytag advertises its reliability and this microwave is anything but reliable.

I have had this refrigerator only 6 weeks. The freezer works but the refrigerator does not cool properly. I went back to Home Depot - Baltimore MD and told them I have lost 3-1 gallons of milk for it spoiled. I am right now putting a 4th gallon in and out of the freezer trying to keep it. A serviceman was to my house the other day and stated this brand new Maytag refrigerator only had in my home 6 weeks needs a new board and a flapper that opens up in freezer that sends cold air to refrigerator. Parts are on order. Home Depot would not trade a Maytag refrigerator that worked well and take this lemon back. I am stuck with a lemon I only bought 6 weeks ago.

I have been buying Maytag washer & dryers for 40 years. Have always been satisfied until now. The first 2 sets of washer & dryer were great. Very little ever went wrong. Now I have purchased another set approx. 3 years ago. As of today, I will be putting approx. $300.00 in repair to the washer. Repairman said it is a bad design. It is the second time for the same problem, which was repaired a year ago! I will not buy another Maytag product if they cannot be reliable. I dont even bother repairing those things. Customer calls and I say, Sorry, those are worthless. I did try but gave up. Buy Speed Queen. Traditional, heavy duty, with three-year warranty. Whirlpool who owns Maytag doesnt give a crap. They want their warranty repairmen to pass drug tests but no longer give appliance training. Speed Queen is built in Wisconsin. Who knows who is building the Maytag crap. Another customer had a similar problem with Maytag stove, 1 year old. Whirlpool and Menards said, Sorry, you didnt buy the extended warranty. I have conversations with just about every customer about junk appliances these days. Try to find used 20-year old Maytag for quality. Good luck.

The Deli drawer randomly falls, shelves in general do not fit well. Rough edges on door corners are a hazard especially for children. Service call line was extremely poor with a total disregard to customer concerns. It has been a very bad decision!

I bought this Centennial washer about 7 weeks ago and it has worked right for 4 of those weeks. The washer wouldnt spin the clothes and they came out soaked. Service guy came out and said it was the computer panel and he didnt have one. So I waited over a week for another service call. He put that one and said that now the transmission was shot and he didnt have one, another wait. This is a piece of junk. Do not buy Maytag or Whirlpool products. I had a Maytag for 15 years and had one service call. They are not what they used to be.

Purchased Maytag dishwasher two years ago from Home Depot. It worked for about six months before it would stop working. When adding a dish after initial start would cause the unit to just die. After unplugging unit for a day the start/cancel drain buttons will flash. After reading online about a demo mode have tried and gotten it to work periodically. I continue to read online and have found there is a diagnostic mode. The settings are in a schematic packed with the unit. I found mine written in French (part #W10321879A). I called Maytag/Whirlpool and asked for the English version. They could not and would not provide me with part #W10321878A the English version, a single sheet of paper. They will only provide to a licensed repair technician. I am only asking for what should have been included in the original purchase. I paid $850 for a dishwasher that is not chump change. I know the control panel is bad but I would like to use it until the new part arrives. I think I may return the control panel and take my losses and go buy a brand that is not owned by Cesspool (Whirlpool).

We bought MDB7759AWB Maytag dishwasher in 2011. It worked decently until now when it stopped delivering water to the upper rack. The cleaning quality on the lower rack also dropped significantly although it might be due to the lack of water delivery to the upper rack. Apparently there is something wrong with the internal pump. The Maytag service offered a repair for $300+ which I rejected because this is a ridiculous cost and I would rather buy a different dishwasher. My conclusion is that if you buy Maytag dishwasher you need to factor about $300+ for the repair(s) in 5 years as apparently they do when they sell you this product. Anyway, even though Maytag was a decent brand a long time ago (probably in the past century), it is not reliable anymore. It does not mean it has to be much worse than many others but if you are looking for something better than those others I would not recommend Maytag.

Maytag washer was bought May 2010 with an extended warranty, which expired May 2014. This machine was used by two people with average wash loads. Five months later the machine computer programming didnt work and the machine sounded like a jet taking off. Whirlpool said a one-year warranty would cost $329! This would have been less expensive than a new machine, but I felt I couldnt trust having it repaired. A repairman very familiar with Maytag products said he had three service calls the same day with similar complaints for the Bravos 300 series. He told me the bearings were bad and the cost to fix was not worth the money and this machine should have been recalled. I bought another brand and will not buy Maytag again. When my new machine was delivered, there was grease on the floor from the Maytag.

Purchased our side-by-side stainless steel refrigerator. After about three months, we too have a constant puddle of water outside the bottom freezer door. Maytag came out for the first year it was under warranty, each time saying it was fixed. Its still not fixed and its been three years. We have to keep a towel next to the fridge constantly and have experienced floor damage. Class action suit? Sign me up!! My Maytag double oven has stopped working, and my Maytag dishwasher does not clean my dishes at all. I will NEVER buy Maytag again.

Oven worked ok for a year and went under right day after warranty expired. I called factory-approved repair people in Brooklyn but was told repair would cost more than buy new oven. I contacted factory but got no help either.

I bought model MDBM601AWB3 in October of 2009. The control panel and wiring harness burned in August of 2011 after, at the most, running twice a week. I called customer service and talked to numerous people. All said, Too bad, out of warranty. I did a quick Google and learned it is a common problem and even a fire hazard with Maytag dishwashers. My wife, who was being treated for lung cancer at the time and was very emotional, got a hold of someone in corporate and literally cried that we could not afford the $600 to fix a problem they knew it had when they sold it to us. They relented and agreed to pay for parts; we pay labor. Today, 1/10/13, the control panel is dead again. I suspect it is the same problem as all they did was replace the panel and wires. This machine has obvious dangerous design flaws that they were aware of. I find it sad that a company can screw people like this and get away with it. What recourse do we have now?

I bought the Maytag Bravos because I was told it was top of the line and expected that Maytags reputation for quality would provide me with many years of dependable service without problem. Boy, was I taken for a ride! Unless you have a lot of money to spend, DO NOT buy a Maytag Bravos washing machine. After only 3.5 years of normal use (3-4 standard loads per week) and doing everything as suggested by the owners manual, my machine has developed a bad drum bearing. The cost to repair this bearing is $400 for parts and $200 for labor. In other words, I am forced to buy a new machine after ONLY 3.5 years of use. When I called Maytag customer service department to question them about my problem, their response was there are no recalls on your machine, so we cannot do anything for you. When I further questioned them about the lack of quality/dependability my machine provided, they again said, Sorry, the machine is out of the warranty period. Thank you for buying Maytag. If you buy one of these washing machines, you better have the extra money to buy an extended warranty.

I purchased the Maytag Bravo Series in August 2010. Two weeks ago, I had to replace the idler pulley on the dryer which was no easy task. Now today I was washing a load of clothes only to walk into my utility room and find it flooded. This didnt even start out as a small leak so at least you would have a warning. On the spin cycle, the washer is making a clanging sound. These were not cheap models. I paid $1600 for the set. I will never buy another Maytag product especially after reading all the complaints that people have had about this series. Why hasnt something been done to protect the consumer? I did not purchase the extended warranty as I thought Maytag sold a good product. I owned another set of Maytags that were almost 30 years old when we got rid of them and did minimal repairs over the years. We are only a household of 3. It is not like these appliances are overloaded or abused. Its very disheartening. In this economy, most dont have money to just throw away and that is what I feel like I did!

I had my kitchen remodeled less than 4 years ago with a Maytag refrigerator, Bosch dishwasher, and GE stove. I had a 1 year warranty, and purchased additional 2 years. The warranty ran out last year, and the refrigerator is not working. Maytag customer service said all they could offer was 1 year extended warranty for $300. I told them a refrigerator should last longer than 4 years. They agreed, but that is all they did. Ive read other online reviews, and it appears a lot of people are in the same situation (however my fridge is not on a recall list). I will never buy another Maytag product ever! My GE and Bosch appliances are working just fine.

I related my problems with a Maytag Bravos Washer a few days ago. A year and a half after I purchased the washer, it would no longer spin, among other problems. I was persuaded to call a repairman who diagnosed faulty electronic components which would cost me nearly $400 to repair. He confirmed that the washer was poorly built and strongly advised that I replace it. So, after paying him only $25 for a service call (he felt sorry for me), I did some research and bought a top-load agitator washer because the old-fashioned machines actually do their job - they wash clothes! I was duped by the high-efficiency claims, low-water-usage of the Maytag which didnt wash that well when it did work.

We bought this washer before Christmas. I was very excited. However my clothes don’t come out clean. I am actually washing my white uniform with hands because each time I wash, dark scums remain on my clothes. I think that the machine sensor does not sense how much clothes are in there and how much water is required. This machine is very disappointing, it needs to be recalled. See pictures below.

I have owned my Bravos XL for over a year. Loads of wash have come out with rust marks. These marks do not show up on all items, only one article of clothing/sheet/towel seems to pick up the rust marks (usually a couple of dots near each other surrounded by a circle). They are always the same. They have shown up on sheets which were washed in a white cycle and on other clothes of various colors.I have ruined numerous new clothes and must accept the fact that these random but frequent rust-colored dots are part of my life. I expected more. Im getting ready to purchase a W/D for our home up North and believe its necessary to return to a basic model, probably a GE. Maytag seems to have jumped the gun on this one… putting new product out there, aware these unresolved issues remain.

The ceramic coating on the interior of the oven cavity in the top oven, which I use the most (may actually happen to the lower oven in time) has cracked in the exact pattern of the hidden element. When I spoke to the salesperson at the store, he wasnt surprised and said that it will eventually bubble and rust!!! Called customer service and was informed they consider this an aesthetic issue with no fix!!! They will not offer any remedy or compensation. Are you kidding me!!!

Rust on two year old Maytag Bravos washing machine - I noticed some rust along the inside lip of the washing machine lid and along the seam near the top of the machine about a week ago. I contacted Sears where we had purchased an extended service agreement. However, the agreement does not cover rust. I contacted Maytag and there is nothing that they can do either. The machine is kept inside the house in the laundry area. We have had two washers in the past 21 years that my husband and I have lived at this house that were much less expensive than the Maytag Bravo. They did not rust. This will be the last Maytag product we will purchase.

We bought Maytag Gas Double Oven MGT8800FZ only just two years ago and the top part of the range oven has already stopped working. It has not been overused as there are only two of us in the family and we use Crockpot regularly which do not require the range. It was fine for about 23months, but now it will not heat up at all We have been unable to get much help from Maytag so are not at all happy with this product. We chose Maytag as it is a replacement for an older Maytag oven and we have a Maytag fridge which will shortly have to be replaced. Not sure at all if we will replace it with Maytag going on our experience with our double oven.

This has been the worst washer I ever bought. First the washer does not fill with water even on the deep fill function. It pours little water and washes the clothes with basically no water. The sensor for the lid broke less than six months of using it, soap residue is left on the clothes. I do not recommend this washer at all.

I bought a Maytag Bravos Quiet Series 300 washer just over two years ago from Home Depot. The control board and sensor went out last week. The service technician seemed rather surprised that a newer machine would have that kind of non-wear-and-tear problem and suggested that I contact Maytag/Whirlpool to see if they could help offset the parts costs, as the repair was going to cost over $600! The customer service agent I spoke with said that there was nothing they could do because the item did not have an extended warranty. I explained to her that we purchased this unit, even though it was out of our price range, because we were told that it would last a lifetime. I would have been happy if it would have just lasted 5 years! She was very detached and it was clear that Maytag/Whirlpool was not going to stand behind their product. I will now take the repair money and go buy a new washer. You can be sure that it absolutely will not have the Maytag/Whirlpool brand!

I bought a Maytag MGR5605WW range on July 3, 2011 and it took till mid August before I received it. Right away I noticed when I put a pan on the grates, I had to be careful so they did not slip off. Dangerous! Then I made a pizza, and when I pulled the rack out of the oven, the rack tipped down and the pizza slid down on the oven. Danger again! I went over to Menards and they gave me the number of A&E (1-800-771-3029). I called them when I got home and an A&E person said they would call me back. After a few more calls, no one ever called me back. I went back to Menards. They said I need to deal with Maytag. I am very concerned with the racks, and so is everyone else. They are cheaply made. Tonight I had a family member place the frozen turkey on the rack and it bowed down! Danger again. The grates have a few chips. This is a nightmare. What a piece of trash. I’m trying to get someone to respond. This stove is dangerous to my well-being, and I have no other choice but to use it.

So sad, purchased brand new Maytag washer and dryer, Commercial technology (MVWB766FW) labels. Looked and appeared impressive. Machines cost almost $1,000 each. Had twenty year old machines that still worked, I didn’t want to face a unexpected breakdown and decided to replace. What a mistake. I’m 67 and all my life from grandma through my mother Maytag was the best, not anymore. Once my equipment was installed I washed a load checking frequently, noticed almost no water in the huge tub and my clothes being beat by the agitator but not enough water to move the clothes. I tried to change to high water setting but had to cancel this load to do so. Once on high water setting I started the load again, water still very low and agitator just rubbing the clothes directly next to it, no movement of the clothes at all. Ran completely through the wash cycle but when moving to the dryer noticed some light blue shorts had dry spots, many, which had never been wet even through the wash, rinse, and spin cycles. Had a warranty service call and was told this is how the machines work. I told the serviceman had I known that I would have never bought the machines. He told me the salesman should have explained this to me which he did not. The only way I can wash my clothes in the new, expensive machine is on bedding cycle with high water setting on. Sad day when American companies can legally sell such crap. Also, called the company where I purchased and ask about return. To that I was told once I made the purchase they were mine and Reid’s Appliance in Santa Barbara didn’t take returns. Reid’s Appliance can’t be trusted. Buyer Beware, this stuff is junk. I will be throwing these machines out soon as they aren’t even sale-able on the used market. MAYTAG RIPPED ME OFF.

Dishwasher (MDB7709AWB2) stopped running mid-cycle, internet search revealed that control panel needs replacement at a cost of $135. excluding labor, for a dishwasher that originally cost $348. Notified Maytag and am awaiting a response.

It does not completely drain all water out of until. So unless your running the washer every day, you will end up with the most horrible smell coming from standing water. It is very irritating and so fowl smelling.

I bought this wash (XL HD) 1 1/2 years ago. From the time the people installed it it never worked correctly. I have never wanted to beat up an appliance before, but this washer makes me so mad that I am ready to just throw it out and buy a new one even though I paid 600.00 for it and it was more than I would ever pay for a washer. I bought this so I could wash my comforters mainly. Well I cannot wash comforters unless I wash them 5 times or at least try to wash them 5 times or more. They get unbalanced and then the machine shuts off. After doing everything from changing the hoses like somebody else suggested, it still didnt work. Along my troubles with trying to rinse and drain I did find something new that I didnt know I could do for all these months is when you put your machine on rinse, spin, dry and the extra rinse light pops on, click it and turn it off, then it reduces the spin time to 15 minutes instead of 26. Also now I have to just let my hose drain on the floor of my outside wash room because if I hook it up through the wall to drain outside it just stops with the LF code. So I have 2 inches of water on my washroom floor and it really sucks. This is the only way I can get the machine to work without turning itself off. Very disappointed with this machine that appears to be so large (looks can be deceiving). It cannot wash hardly anything and this machine should be taken off the market. It is garbage. I really wish this did work because I have spent too much time trying to rewash, respin, get all the water out of the clothes so I could dry them. This should be banned and not sold by any store.

It’s washing day today, so I’m angry, frustrated and livid to do it in my Maytag machines. I’m 72 years old and been doing this for 53 years. It’s not a job you love to do but you do it. I finally get to be able to afford whatever machines I want, so what do I do, buy Maytag. They are beautiful, see through top load, and see through dryer. So finally I get to use them, what a letdown. I don’t understand how they can put these machines on the market. Unbelievable! Also very expensive. The sensor for the water level is way off. It starts washing with hardly no water covering the clothes so this is where I put it on pause and add buckets of water to wet at least the clothing. I did a test to see how the clothes moved inside when washing. It was a load of white towels and I put in a bright green face cloth to see how it moved around in there. Well what a surprise, it stayed on top and moved about 3 inches to the right. That’s all it did. You don’t call that washing, I call that soaking! Terrible washer! I could go on and on but I’m getting too upset. Now for the dryer, the sensors don’t work right so what I do is use the timer and the temperature buttons only. Sometimes clothes gets stuck under the lint basket and by the time the buzzer tells me the load is finished drying, it is so twisted that it’s wrinkled forever. It has ruined a beautiful tablecloth of mine. I can’t sell these machines because I would feel very bad to pass them to someone else…Maytag does but not me. Because of my age I won’t be getting new machines probably, I’m stuck with them, but I would advise anyone shopping for a new washer and dryer, go out there and see what they have, come back home and look for reviews which I did not. Bad mistake! Note: I searched everywhere to write this review to Maytag on their website, none to be found!

Maytag French door Bottom Mount Model # MFT2976AEW02 - Purchased this model refrigerator in late 2013. Had minor problems with ice maker for last 6 months, not have freezer problems, as the bottom freezer is not keeping food frozen. Called repairman today. He ran 64 checks on refrigerator, said to keep eye on problem and he will re check in 24 hours. Called private company, Maytag in Latrobe. They referred us to the Maytag repairman. We will keep you posted. We moved all of our frozen food to a downstairs older freezer for safekeeping. Keep checking, we will update.

I built a new house in 2006. As part of a builders package, we had all new stainless steel Maytag appliances installed. The side by side refrigerator compressor stopped after 26 months (of course, passed any warranty). No customer support through Maytag and as previously posted very scripted responses. Maytag microwave handle has broken off several times, the glass seal in the oven door was compromised and the inside glass is stained - most recently the on-going issue with my Maytag dishwasher model mdb5601. Ive already replaced the handle /door latch assembly twice and am confronted with the current dilemma if I should replace the control panel that now appears not to be working. It goes without saying that I will never purchase Maytag products again. However, I am not in a position to replace what are fairly new products. That being said, I am reluctant to purchase costly replacement parts given their poor performance and ratings as mentioned in this thread.

Same as the rest of complaints. Dryer needed a new motor 3 months after purchase. Crazy. Door magnet replaced at 5 months. Lint screen replaced. Washer electrical board replaced at 8 months. Cloths come out wrinkled, tore up with holes and I have like bleach spots on clothes that I didn’t use bleach with. Now the washer is screeching and coming UL. My husband thinks its the bearings and tub seal. Called Sears and parts alone are 185.00 not counting labor. Of course its out of warranty now. Seen comments about a class action lawsuit. I really think this product deserves one. Why should we as consumers have our hard earned money wasted on a product that doesnt meet our standards for a quality washing machine that we thought we were buying. Whos in.

The refrigerator had to have repairs in first year. Maytag was aware of freezer issues and reluctantly finally replaced the parts. I had to argue with repairman because he tried to tell me that the freezer was too full.

Maytag Dishwasher Model # MDB7749SBM1. What a piece of JUNK! Purchased in June 2013. Control panel went out six months later! June 2014 Control panel BAD again (#2). March 2015 another Control panel replaced (#3). Thank God for Home Depots extended warranty! October 2019.... Control panel needs replacing!

Its about Maytag MDE7600AYW Atlantis electric dryer issues, Nov 2005 model. There is an obvious design flaw. I have replaced the automatic dryer control board twice since 2005. The unit simply never shuts off, or cooks your clothes for 2 hours. Who will recall this unit and fix the circuit? They will not admit their error.

Maytag Bravos XL - I have always loved Maytag and never had any problems. In Feb we did some major remodeling with new flooring in our laundry room. Decided to buy a brand new washer and dryer even though our 10-year old Maytag washer and dryer worked perfectly fine. After looking at Home Depot and Lowes we first settled for a Samsung W & D but before it was delivered we shopped some more. After doing some inquiring we decided that we wanted to stick to a long trusted W & D line so we chose this washing mashing and matching dryer. From day one I decided I did not care for it. I found if I put too many clothes in that they did not come out clean. Any dark pants would come out with what looked to be soap or softener stains and would have to rewash 1 or 2 times. Now I can only put in about 4 pairs of pants to wash. I have been cleaning it once a month as the manual says to do but yesterday I noticed a terrible odor coming for the washer. I could smell it out in the hall. I did the cleaning again but still smell it. Now after searching the internet I find a video that shows the problem is mold under the drum. No amount of Affresh or bleach is going to clean something UNDER the drum. It is not my job to have to take this apart every few months and clean out mold and moldy water. Sounds like this problem has been going on for a few years and this should have been fixed long before this. I wish I had my old faithful washer and dryer back. Maybe I should have stuck to the Samsung washer and dryer.

This Maytag dishwasher is beautiful inside and outside. I love that the controls are hidden. It cleans dishes very well. It has a large capacity for dishes, a rack for glasses/mugs, a small rack for cooking utensils, and a container for silverware. It is so quiet you hardly know it is working. I would highly recommend it.

Maytag Performa Side by Side fridge PSD262LHEB door handle pulled off for the second time since purchase but this time, the handle knocked over a pot of hot water on me. I am just relieved that I have no small children anymore. I would consider this very dangerous in any household. The first time, it was covered under warranty along with the broken ice maker. The repairman stated that he had replaced many handles and due to design flaw, they would not last long.

Brand new washing machine model MHW8200FW purchased at Karls, a Ferguson subsidiary, in Madison, NJ end of June, 2017. I wanted to buy a top of the line machine and this is what the sales person recommended to me. Problems started soon after purchase. Initially I contacted Maytag because the machine wouldnt spin dry a cotton bath mat weighing 4.5lbs soaking wet. I was told I should put more items in the machine to help balance it. Well there WERE more items and the machine wouldnt spin dry them either. I tried every trouble shooting Maytag suggested. Having exhausted my nerves, I called for service. The technician came and said these machines are extremely sensitive and that sometimes they wont even run an empty cycle. He said this is a common complaint with these units. One of his suggestions was to take bath mats, duvets, comforters... articles like that to a laundromat.I did less than 10 wash cycles after his visit when the washer started having more issues and finally broke down completely. The technician who came this time wrote a repair order indicating a mechanical (Stator) AND electrical (Control Panel) breakdown ($500+ for the parts alone if the unit wasnt under warranty). He also stated that he had never seen such problems in a brand new machine.I contacted Maytag for an exchange. Maytag customer service wrote to me that the breakdowns are ... normal, with all the units we sell some may have a defect in the first couple of months... and refused to exchange my defective unit. I can accept that there may be a defect that will warrant a repair, but in this case there are multiple defects in separate systems - mechanical and electrical - within the first month of service. This shouldnt warrant any further discussion, only a quick replacement and an apology.

Washer has plenty of functions for me to was even my work clothes. These saves me money and time. Washer leaves clothes clean and you can even wash your blankets.

Works quietly and efficiently and I love it! I dont even know its running and the dishes are sparkling clean when they come out. How could ask for anything more. I would always purchase this brand again. The reliability is another factor, I have had Maytag before.

This machine (Maytag Bravos XL) was in our new house and is relatively new. It is the worse machine I have ever owned. I am 58 and cant reach the bottom of the tub to get clothes out. It doesnt fill with enough water to clean the clothes, and repeatedly I have my clothes coming out dirty. I have had to rewash clothes to get them clean at all. Or they come out with grime all over them. I had both a LG and Samsung front loaders in the past, if I could afford it I would throw this Maytag out on the curb! Its a piece of junk.

I bought a Maytag commercial washer - it was pricey but I loved the fact that it had dial knobs and only one feature was electronic as I find the electronics to be what fails the most. It holds a lot of clothes and gets them really clean. I absolutely love it!!

Maytag Bravos Quiet Series 300 - Just DONT BUY this junk. We bought the washer and dryer set from Home Depot in 2011 and have had nothing but trouble with the washer. Three times small objects like dimes, pennies and nickels got past the agitator into the drain pump which has been replaced twice. Beneath the agitator we even found a few missing socks. Today after a visit to the Laundromat, we bought a Samsung with a 5 year extended warranty. If that doesnt work it will be an old fashioned Speed Queen next. We will never buy anything Maytag again and I hope to influence everyone we meet about them. I cant wait to throw it into the city landfill for recycle dog food cans.

Bought a new maytag gas range march 2013 model #mgr8674ab. The oven would not light at all. Would just click. Still under warranty. Called the service. They came and had to replace the controls in back. 2 months later the same thing, only this time it comes on and goes right back off. Then a week ago got it to light, used the oven and tried to turn it off and it would go off but immediately light up again. Scary to say the least. Another call to service. They are coming tomorrow. This is November 12 2013. I would not buy another maytag gas stove. There is something terribly wrong with this model.

I absolutely love this Maytag Bravos XL washing machine... I bought this machine before doing any research because of a sale and then after reading multitudes of reviews... positive and negative... I thought I had made a mistake. The absolutely most important thing with this machine is to load it properly and select the proper wash cycles. You must stack your clothes around the outside of the drum leaving the center open. You must use HE detergent. This is a Commercial grade washer and is meant to be loaded. The twisting and wringing of clothes is because of the high speed nature of the spin cycle (commercial). If you have never been to a public laundromat then you should try it and see what those machines do to your clothes. I too was apprehensive about the water levels at first... So I stood there for an entire cycle multiple time and on diff settings.The machine is constantly adding water as needed and each time after about 10 min... no matter the size load I put in. The clothes eventually were covered by water. Have had no issues with clothes that come out dry in spots. I suspect this is due to improper loading. Again my info on using this machine... loading techniques etc.. all came from positive reviewers stressing the importance of these key factors. This machine was not designed or intended for light or delicate use. So if you do a lot of those type loads perhaps this machine is not for you. As for the loudness and banging I have read about I have not experienced that. I have read reviews that the problem in some case ended up being metal or plastic drip pans used under the machine. Mine sits on concrete. Anyway hope this helps someone out.

I sold my 20 year old Maytag set and upgraded to this Maytag Bravos washer. This machine takes almost 1 hour to do a load and they come out dirty. Only way to get clean is to set on bulky sheet which uses twice as much water as old machine. This unit should have never been put on the market.

Loading is easy, operation is extremely quiet, dishes are very clean even on normal auto wash cycle. White, integrated depress buttons, full size, removable utensil baskets, upper and lower racks, top rack is manually adjustable, stainless steel tub. White front which is what we want not the ugly old metal stainless steel, usage buttons are on the upward facing edge of the door, pull down handle is nice size and very sturdy. Model is MDB8959SBW3. Even on normal auto wash cycle dishes are clean without much pre-rinsing. Purchased 10/14 from local dealer and professionally installed. So far we love it.

Like so many other consumers, I was drawn to the Maytag name because of what I thought was the high quality of their products and their stellar reputation. So when our old wall-mount oven failed, I sought out a replacement from the Maytag line. I purchased a model MEW5530WDDB17 in 2011 and had it professionally installed. It worked well for a couple of years. Then, suddenly, three of the numbers on the digital control panel stopped working, making it impossible to set the oven to any temperature that included a 4, a 2 or a 5. When I contacted Maytag, I was informed that the unit was out of warranty, but that I could schedule a service call. I had already researched this issue online and knew that the service person would inform me that I needed a new control board and that one could be installed for around $300, and that the new board would come with a 90 day warranty. When I asked the person to whom I was speaking, she said that she had no further information for me. I know that a lot of others have had this same issue with their Maytag range/ovens, and many of them agree with me that we will never purchase another Maytag product.

This is was my first time experience to purchase Maytag Bravos XL (MWWB835DW) 5.3-cu High Efficiency Washer. I need it fast replacement to my front loader Samsung washer as it was recalled and had mold issues. I was looking for a High Efficient and Star Energy digital, glass top reliable machine. I may say that I was fooled by advertisement and promotion from the Advertisement and promotion from Home Depot. I did not know much about Maytag Brand but I was convinced by sales person and price promotion. Big Mistake! Huge! I am extremely dissatisfied with this washer, it doesn’t use enough water to cover the clothes! No matter which cycle you use, the clothes don’t come clean.I wash and re-wash my clothes and ending up paying huge water and electric bills as I have to use deep hot water wash each time and after rewash again! Not so High Efficient! After using this machine for just over 6 month all my white expensive towels turned gray and all my whites is no longer white. This washer ruin my clothes. Another problem that this machine doesn’t have small load quick wash and if you have a small load it will go through 50 minutes cycle and I still need another wash after all! If I would wash my king size comforter I still have to do it twice and it does NOT rinse all the water out! I thought I can do big load but this machine cannot handle big loads!My laundry days became a nightmare! I would not call this machine High Efficient at all! Company does bogus advertisement just to fool and attract consumers. This is terrible washer which make me think how possibly this machine is on the market and allowed to be sold? I did not notice problem till very late and I missed my 90 days return policy. Now I have to find another replacement. What a waste of money! I do not recommend this machine to my enemy. Please read reviews before buying this horrible machine. Do not miss your 90 days policy returns. Save your water and electric bills by avoiding Bravos XL. I am hoping that Consumer Protection will step in and evaluate numbers of complaints and will help those who were fooled and ripped off by such a false advertisement.

We had a Whirlpool stove/oven for many years, and it was finally time to trade it in. Everything about that unit was good. While shopping for another Whirlpool, the sales rep told us that Maytag and Whirlpool are one and the same. That we found, is false. An important feature for us in an appliance is the self cleaning oven. The Maytag oven had to be leveled four times after it was installed, in order for the self clean feature to function. The self clean part is only a small indented portion of the bottom of the oven, not the entire oven. And even that does not clean. After going through the dealership service about this problem, I contacted Maytag. My final frustrated summary to the rep was that I understand that we bought a lemon, and you are not going to help us in any way. I just want to say to anyone considering a Maytag stove and oven, raise your standard. If you choose Maytag, you will only be disappointed. I am.

Purchased dishwasher from Highway Appliance in Dunlevy, PA on August 21, 2013. In August, 2015 control panel apparently went bad. When pushing normal, other buttons light up, but not the one you select. Tried throwing the breaker to reset, to no avail. Based on reviews, seems like many others have the same problem. Step up and do the right thing Maytag - recall & replace these machines!!!

We bought ALL new Maytag appliances for our home when we rebuilt after it was destroyed by Hurricane Katrina in 2005. We got the top of the line of every appliance. Our Maytag dryer model MDE2706AYW has broke for the 2nd time and cost to repair this time forces me to replace it. The dryer felts, idler pulley and belt went out several weeks ago. Used it about a week and the drum quit turning. The repair tech said the aluminum pulley for the belt on the motor is broke. The pulley is not serviced/available and you have to buy a new motor assembly. This puts repair price on up there where replacing the dryer is the only option. We are going shopping for a new dryer today. It wont be a Maytag.2 years ago, our Maytag washer broke. The repair tech said the transmission went out and it would cost less to replace the washer than to try and repair the Maytag washer. We bought a new washer, different brand. About 3 years ago, we had to have our Maytag dishwasher control panel replaced and 2 months later the pump housing broke. Repair tech said cost more to repair than new. Replaced with different brand.Shortly out of warranty, our Maytag Microwave broke. Everything worked except it would not heat anything. The repair tech said cost more to fix than new. Replaced with different brand. All we have left is the refrigerator which has had 2 expensive repairs done on it and the stove which has had the control board and several heating elements changed. I will never buy another Maytag product.

I purchased a Maytag dishwasher at Home Depot in October 2009. Recently, it made noises for a few months of laboring, and finally would not start.Maytag said it’s out of warranty and wanted $125 just to diagnose. Took it to my shop for $60 to diagnose and they found a faulty control panel.

Its the worst experience I have ever had with any product. I grew up watching the Maytag man as a child and thinking that must be a top of the line product. Boy was I wrong. I went out six years ago when I purchased my new home and purchased for 1,550.00 a brand new refrigerator with side by side, and ice maker on the bottom, silver in color. It looked great, the quality was and is terrible. The freezer stopped freezing a couple of days after the first year was up. The Service department at Maytag is terrible, I called them for assistance and they were anything but helpful rude is a better word. Its been a nightmare! How could they ruin that good, or even great name of that product. Never will I buy a Maytag appliance again. I tell all of my friends as well. Oh yes so far as the leaking is concerned, my floor is damaged as well.

I purchased my 2nd Maytag Neptune washer in 2005 to replace an early Neptune that was complete junk. This one worked OK until this year when it began to make awful noises. After research, I decided it was the bearings that failed. I took the unit apart to get to the bearings and found out the entire outer tub must be replaced not just the bearings, at a cost of $515. What lousy engineering, the bearings dont come out of the housing. No wonder Maytag repairmen are so bored. There is nothing to fix, you just buy a new washer. I wont buy Maytag this time.

Well I have the washer and dryer. I love the dryer, it is excellent! Now on to the washer. It tries to save water so I guess people in California would love it. I have a laundry room in the basement and one up on the top floor with the Bravos in it. I only do the clothes that are not dirty but a little smelly in the Bravos. Any clothes that are dirty I do in my 20 year old machine in the basement. Do not purchase this machine if you are under 56 because you will need a step stool. Everything I wash I do on the longest cycle because the other cycles do not get all the clothes wet. Think about what I just said. The machine does not get all the clothes wet. Do not purchase this machine. I really cannot call it a washing machine, but they look real pretty in the laundry room.

This is the best microwave that we have ever purchased. I especially like the baked potato choice. Its also very easy to use and clean. I would definitely recommend it.

Pretty much the same complaint as Ive read about the Maytag dishwasher control panel issue. I purchased ours in Nov. 2009, issues began in April 2011, and service call for $129 where the technician said it needs a replacement control panel. I spent another $130 for the part and warranty on this specific part. In December 2011, issues occurred again. I ordered a new control panel in January and was told 3-5 days, called after 10 days and was told it was on backorder and should be shipped sometime in March. Youd think the Maytag President would be embarrassed for producing a product like this that in my eyes has tarnished what was a reputable household brand. Not that it will do any good but I will mail a letter to the President. One positive, our kids are learning to wash dishes the way I did as a kid, by hand. I sure hope the new control panel we hope arrives in March fixes this problem for good.

This is just a heads up to anyone thinking about purchasing the front loading Maytag Neptune washer and dryer. We spent $1900.00 on these machines and have had nothing but trouble from them. I will never purchase a Maytag or now, Whirlpool appliance again. As to the rating above, if I could post negative 150 stars I would. I have spent as much in repairs as the new dryer cost.

Called to schedule service for letters on door to be replaced ice and water completely rubbed off until you didnt know which one you were getting. Refrigerator is less than 10 months old. Also freezer door was hung lower than refrigerator door. Was told nothing could be done. It was a cosmetic issue. Very rude customer service dept and I talked to two separate people and they were both rude and unwilling to help. I can promise you I will never buy any of their appliances again.

Maytag Dishwasher Model MDB 7749SAM0 - Bought this dishwasher from Lowes in 2012 for my daughter and son-in-laws new home. Thought I was making a good choice with Maytag. Wrong. Same control board problem that everyone else is having. Wiring ribbon is corroded and shorted. Why is this not a re-call? I will call Maytag and Lowes and complain, but likely will get no justice. Sounds like I should just bring this machine to the dump and take my losses.

Purchased this unit back in November 2011. Sometime this year it started leaking water just like many others from the freezer unit onto the floor (many times large puddles). Im tired of the permanent towel on the floor to absorb the water to prevent a potential slipping hazard. I too went online and found a very nice video on youtube which showed how to disassemble the freezer compartment. Took everything apart and noticed that there was water frozen on the supply line. Melted this and put everything back together, for about a week there was no water leaking so I figured all was well. About a week later the puddle was back so I sent an inquiry to Maytag and let them know I had an image of the issue and asked if it was covered through manufacture warranty. When calling please press the available option or stay on the line to reach a representative.Frustrated I went online and found this forum where hundreds of other people had the same issue and that many of them were resolved by the new P Trap. So I watched another video by the same guy on youtube that showed how to replace the P Trap. I went online and found the replacement P Trap Manufacturer model # w10619951. One of the comments there actually said to call Maytag first as they were able to get a replacement P Trap for free. I believe if it was under a year old they would also pay for the labor to have it replaced. So this morning I called Maytag, the first guy Jim said I would have to have a certified Tech come out (76 dollar service fee, plus whatever the labor would cost) and Maytag would cover the cost of the part. I asked Jim if he could just send me the part and Ill do it myself, he reassured me that he could NOT do this and that the system was very specific. I told him I did not understand that a bad design and known quality defect, why should I have to pay several hundred dollars to fix? He told me that was the way it is. I asked to speak to his supervisor and put me on hold. Not only was the hold music extremely obnoxious but there was a loud humming noise as well, I waited for 10 minutes hung up and called back. I spoke with Maggie this time. I told her I wanted the part sent to me and if she couldnt help me I wanted to speak to a manager. She said she did not have the authority to ship me the part without approval. She said she could ask for approval and after waiting for about 3 minutes she came back on the line and said she spoke with her supervisor and that they would be sending me the replacement P trap today via FedEx. Had they not sent me the part my next stop was going to be the better business bureau..

When I remolded my kitchen almost four years ago, I purchased four Maytag appliances. There was a recall on my dishwasher that was successfully fixed; the heating coil could have caused a fire. The next appliance to go was my refrigerator with a bottom freezer: the freezer section went. Thank goodness I purchased a policy which covered the repair that had to be done twice--twice I lost food. I was compensated by the insurance company for $200.00 for the cost of food lost. Just before Christmas my microwave stopped heating. The turntable works, the timer works, but it will not heat the food and makes a loud noise. The glass top on my stove is getting marred even though I clean it every time something spills. I keep my appliances in immaculate condition and they look like new. I thought when I purchased Maytag I was buying reliable appliances. Their ad that states that the Maytag repairman is lonesome because he has no work is a lot of bull. Each appliance has had problems. Where is consumer protection? Appliances should not breakdown after a couple of years. We should not have to buy insurance policies that are expensive to protect appliances that should last at least ten years without problems. Someone needs to step in and help the consumer. I didnt call Maytag regarding the microwave as I was told it was useless to call them and all I would get would be aggravation. Someone, please help the consumer!

The washer worked great for the first 6 months, then it didnt dissolve the soap, it wouldnt complete the cycle, and there is a loose bolt like sound when you spin the drum. The load level is not an issue. We have had the serviceman out four times, he has called the tech support each time and they cannot resolve the issue. Maytag said sorry! Unless it does it constantly then they cant help. The control panel has been replaced and the drum has been replaced. So we keep paying the water and sewer bill to rerun the load 1/2/3 times to get it to complete the cycle. This washer was purchased last May, 2011 and they say were stuck with it.

This washer (Model# MVWB765FW1) will not wash your clothes. Its not designed to give enough water for washing. That means some clothes will still be dry after agitator cycle; seriously. Thank you Maytag for going green! The repairman will tell you the machine is working according to design. That is true but the machine is a fraud as a clothes washing machine. The weight of the clothes in the tub tells the computer how much water to apply; good luck with that. We learned that if we add a bucket and a half of water, the clothes will come clean. Do you want to do that? Maytag used to be a good name.

I purchased a Maytag dishwasher model #MDB6769AWB2. After 1 year and 2 months of light use (just my wife and myself), the control panel went out on it! I called Maytag and because it was over 1 year old, they would not do anything about it! When you call their number listed in the owner’s manual, they thank you for calling their Customer Experience Center. This is an experience I can do without!
