Our range and oven are reliable and durable. Easy to clean and have lasted a long time. I do not regret spending a little extra money to have an appliance that has lasted a long time. The oven heats up at a standard rate. The self clean function is very thorough. I have a white set. I was worried they would stain with your typical spills that come along with cooking. However, They clean very easily.

MER8700DH - Within 6 months, left rear burner stopped working and Maytag repaired it under warranty. Within next 6 months, and just before end of warranty, right front burner stopped working and again Maytag covered it under warranty. Within the second year of ownership, the oven was not working correctly and Maytag refused to cover it because it was off warranty. So I called a local appliance repair company who gave me an estimate of over $300 to repair it and basically advised against repair stating that this stove was a piece of junk. So I replaced it with a GE and junked the old one before it was even two years old. I filed a complaint with Maytag. At first they said they would go half on the labor, but then they said I should have bought the extended warranty and refused all further help.

I bought my Maytag Bravos top load washer from Home Depot. In one year. I had the Maytag warranty people out three or four times. The warranty ran out and I purchased an extended warranty from A&E. I have had them out at least five times.I called Maytag and they told me since that I didn’t get the extended warranty from them, that there was nothing they could do for me. I explained to them that this washer cost me over $900 and that I have had numerous repairs on the washer, in which the warranties cost me over $400 so far.How much do I have to keep paying for this lemon? Maytag will not do anything about it! This goes to show you that paying top dollar for a washer does not guarantee you will have a good product. In this economy we can’t afford for this to happen. This is a very bad product and Maytag will not stand behind their own products, but they are willing to charge the consumer high dollar for them. This is a disgrace!

I bought my Maytag Model LA608 washer in 1976. It has very few electronics and a mechanical timer. It has been used every week since then for 2 or 3 people. It has had 3 problems in its lifetime. I replaced the 2 valves that control the hot and cold water entering the machine. I replaced a small plastic sprayer part. And last year I replaced 3 clamps that rusted and started to leak. Thats it in 40 years. I was able to open up the front and back covers to get at the parts quite easily.It is a simple machine with almost no electronics to stop working. Nothing bothers me about the machine. Its simple and wonderful. When it finally breaks, I will try and find a good sized machine that washes permanent press and regular clothes, has a controller to select hot/cold/warm water temperatures, has a regular and gentle cycle, and has 3 load levels for the water to be used. I will try to find one that is good quality with few electronic parts. I will not buy a high efficiency model that uses less water as I am on a well and water shortage is not a problem where I live. I will not buy a front loading model.I would not buy a machine that has options that I do not need. I would hope to find a quality machine similar to what I have now. I would read as many ratings about the various models before making a selection and then I would cross my fingers and hope for the best. If it is possible, try and find a good quality machine that will be dependable over time. Buy a basic machine with only the options that you really need. There will be fewer parts to stop working.

Maytag 6.2 Induction Freestanding Range Model MIR8890AS0 F47 - I am a very careful shopper. I spent many, many hours researching and searching for the best value. It took me over 2 weeks of research to find an induction oven we could afford. We are a family of 3. Normally, we use just one burner for dinner. We bought the range in Feb 2013. On August 5. 2014, we had company over for dinner. I used more than 2 burners and the oven at the same time and the right 2 burners quit working; I now have the dreaded F47 code. I have had numerous Maytag Authorized repairmen out. They ordered every part except for the one that was necessary to fix my stove. I purchased in Feb 2013, burners went out 8/5/14. This is only 18 months old and is JUNK. Arent our landfills full enough?Maytag customer service is awful. I spent hours on the phone, mainly on hold, in efforts to get help. Maytag claims to have such a great 10 year limited warranty but they wont warranty this F47 issue. Thank God I bought insurance with an outside company. The wrong parts that were ordered were at least covered by my own insurance policy; no thanks to Maytag. I am angry that I have to search all over again to try and find the right stove. I am now fearful of induction. I invested in a lot of induction cookware which was an added expense and burden! They need to stand behind their appliances!People cannot afford to waste thousands of dollars every 1.5 years to cook their meals! This has been an extremely unpleasant issue. It has cost me many hours of waiting for repairmen, waiting on hold, getting and storing many wrong parts ordered by repairmen. I calculate this cost me over 50 hours of my life on the F47 problem. Not to mention the time it took me to shop for this junk to begin with!I think they need to recall this issue as it is clearly a design flaw. I researched this and found many other owners had similar problems. The F47 means that the user interface isnt communicating with the range (the circuit board). They placed the circuit board under the burner surface area, sandwiched between the burners and the oven. It was just a matter of too much heat before this board shorted out. The cost to replace this board is over $600. I am afraid of investing another dime into this machine. I wasted time, energy and A LOT of money on this inferior product.

My clothes come out extremely wrinkled and start piling after a couple of washes. I wash on cold and do not overload the machine. I am 64 years old and had always loved Maytag until I got this set 4 years ago.

I purchased a new Maytag microwave from Lowes barely two years ago. The inner door frame is coming apart which makes the handle to open slack which means the microwave does not operate correctly because you have to open & close several times. I called Maytag. They said the one year warranty is over. Furthermore one of their authorize dealers want $200 for labor, parts is separate. I said I can purchase a new microwave for less which I intend to do but never MAYTAG again.

I bought the larger capacity machines to save time because Im so busy with my family and wanted to cut down on loads. I was surprised to find the capacity can really only operate at half, which is as large as my old, smaller machines. The washer is extremely sensitive, meaning it may take four or five tries (this morning was four) to arrange the clothes - even a small load of delicates - in it in the exact way the machine wants before it will allow the cycle to start. This is exceptionally frustrating, particularly during the busy morning or when you are tired at night. So you have to stand there and wait until the sensing function is happy and you see the water pouring in. Yet often you will return to the machine and it will have an error message that occurs inexplicably during the spin cycle, so the wash cycle will need to be restarted. It cannot just be continued. The machine is not only a huge time waster but a water/detergent waster as well.I learned that the sensing function on the dryer is useless as well after coming back to many loads of damp clothes that sat there, got little funny smelling as a result, and had to be rewashed in the nightmare washer lol. So now I just use the timer function. It takes about two hours to dry a regular load of towels, so be prepared for that. I bought Maytag because it is an American-made product, but I wont make the same mistake next time. If the quality is any reflection of the functionality, it probably wont last very long anyway. Heres to hoping.

The washer does not wash the clothes, period. It leaves dirt and soap in the machine along with the unwashed clothes.

I purchased my Maytag double oven (MEW6627DDB) in November 2008. In January 2013, with a setting on 375, it heated to 440 in 15 minutes. The repairman said $650 because it needs a new control panel and 2 new sensors, one for each oven. I contacted Maytag as I felt this oven should not have gone out in 4 years. I spoke with Ebony and then a supervisor, Vana. Basically, I was told that since I didnt purchase an extended warranty, there was nothing they could do. While I have a freezer 40 years old and still going strong, I realize that appliances manufactured many years ago were much more reliable. I feel that Maytag should stand behind their products and should have offered to send me replacement parts. I know I would have had to pay labor for installation. Their answer was I should have purchased the extended warranty. However, one should not have to purchase extended warranties for products. I had every confidence in Maytag. Why else would I have purchased my first Maytag product? I should have stuck with Whirlpool, which I was recently told, now owns Maytag. Maytag customer service personnel were extremely unhelpful. I wonder how many Maytag employees purchase extended warranties for their appliances or if theyre smart enough not to buy Maytag.

We were sold a Maytag Neptune washer mah550bbw in 2004 when it was already on recall by Maytag and a class action lawsuit was filed against Maytag. We also bought an extended warranty. Now we have the same problems as the lawsuit. We own dry cleaners so we do laundry once a month for small articles. For the last few months the clothes have an odor and they come out looking not clean. We were sold a defective and recalled product and are not happy right now. We would like a fast resolution to this problem; otherwise, we seek legal actions.

Maytag Bravo Washer and Dryer XL Series - This the worst washer and dryer I have ever owned by Maytag. I wish I could give them away. The washer does not clean my clothes and the dryer does not dry my clothes. They are absolutely terrible. Do not buy them, you will be sorry.

Works like a Dream!! My dryer is an older model Maytag and it works wondrous. I have tried the newer energy efficient kinds and I feel like they dont dry well or make my clothes smell clean. My older maytag works fast, efficiently and I love how my clothes feel fluffed and smell fantastic!

We purchased the Maytag Atlantis used (4 years old); it looked like new. When I opened the lid, I noticed a terrible smell like some left the clothes in the washer for days. I used white vinegar, baking soda, bleach, anything to try and get rid of the smell. Nothing worked. Finally, my husband took out the agitator and then the drum. Inside and around the drum was lint from all the years of washing clothes. He scraped it all off and bleached it and put it back together and it was okay for a while. It now smells again and I am afraid we will have to keep doing this or our clothes will always smell. I also leave the lid open after a wash so Im not attacked by the smell when we open it. I also had the Maytag Neptune front loader years ago, and the water pooled by the gasket on the door. That smelled too! We will be redoing our laundry area soon and will be shopping for a new washer and dryer. It will not be a Maytag!

We bought a Maytag 2000 Series machine about 2 years ago. At first the machine worked great, as a new machine should. Then, after about 7 months water started pouring out of the top dispenser for detergent. I read the manual and looked online at the Maytag website for common problems. It said that sometimes small clothing gets sucked through the hose and needs to be unclogged. I followed the instructions to fix the problem. It worked fine for about 2 weeks later during the middle of a load the machine would stop and give me error codes. I looked these codes up and now I have another clog on the drain tube that needs to be fixed. Lo and behold these 2 problems have been continuing ever since. I cannot do a load of laundry without getting a code and having to take the machine apart. I called Maytag to explain my situation and the customer service representative said that because I fixed the problem myself at this point there is nothing that can be done. They do not guarantee that their equipment will work nor will they help solve the problem. I cannot believe that we spent so much money on something that I cant use. Not to mention the fact that when I do complete a load some of the clothes are ruined by the machine ripping holes in them. I would not recommend buying a Maytag because they dont care about customer satisfaction or the quality of machines they sell.

In a way, l feel fortunate and you will read why in a minute. l have been reading Maytag complaints specifically looking to see if what happened to me has happened to others. Apparently, it has. We purchased our Maytag range, model MER57750AB, in 2005. We too have had some repairs done under warranty. Unfortunately, we live in a day and age where technology isnt always our friend. The old appliances that were not electronically driven lasted forever; todays appliances do not. However, when something with potentially serious consequences happens that is not technology related, it rates in the who is the idiot who designed that? category. I am talking about the exploding exterior glass oven doors.Two weeks ago, the oven door handle on our range came unscrewed on one side. I continued using the appliance, planning on repairing it myself when l found the time. (I used to tinker around the garage with my dad when I was little and therefore, I have great repair skills in several areas.) Last week, I was standing in front of the stove when all of a sudden, the glass panel dropped from the door! It landed straight up on the floor and fell forward so the top edge of the glass landed on my toes (the toes that I had surgery on for six hammertoes last November and are still sore!). Needless to say, l was shocked that this happened, and even more so, I was grateful that it did not break or either of my two grandbabies were around at the time. Then, I looked at the glass and saw that it was attached to the door using only eight small pieces of double sided sticky mounting foam. I mean small! As I said before, idiot! Did they not think that the heat from the oven would eventually wear out the ability of the tape to do its job? I gave up reading after I found enough complaints about the mishaps with the glass on the oven doors to realize that there is a definite problem here. I did not see where the glass fell intact, as mine did. Therefore, I am suggesting that the exploding glass panels more than likely gave way, as mine did, and shattered when they hit the floor. Should there be a product recall for this? Absolutely! The question is how does a recall get put in motion? As others have stated, this could have been a horrible disaster had little ones been around. I pray that doesnt happen to anyone.

Maytag Centennial HE Washer - Worse machine ever. Takes over an hour for a load of clothes, never clean. Had only for 18 months now, it wont advance past wash cycle.

This washer is the worst piece of junk I have ever purchased. From day 1 it never cleaned my clothing. It was too much money to call a repairman so I have lived with it since October 13, 2013 and I have finally been able to buy a new washer this week. My husband would come home from work and ask me why I put dirty clothing in his drawers, he said his clothes stunk and were stained. This washer just did not clean the clothing. It didnt use water. I cannot say how many times I would open it after washing a load and the clothes were dry. It saved water alright, it didnt use any and it was installed properly. If you are going to purchase a Maytag Centennial, run. Dont walk. Run, fly, look the other way, just dont buy this HUNK OF JUNK! I cant even sell it, so we will sell it on eBay for parts just to recoup some of our hard earned money! MAYTAG YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF YOURSELF!

Our Maytag Bravos Top loader with no agitator is headed to the junk pile after 1.5 years of BAD service. I honestly believe that whoever writes a good review on this machine is NOT an actual owner. Lets start with how it NEVER cleaned our clothes... The washer uses barely enough water to get the clothes wet. Soap remains in the clothes so the family is constantly itchy! If you add 3 additional rinse cycles, its still not nearly enough to get out the detergent and youre left asking yourself, What about the HIGH EFFICIENCY???? Next theres the issue of the water never being hot ENOUGH to kill bacteria (were back to the itchy thing). Its suppose to be an energy saver, but at what expense? Its not QUIET like promised (well maybe for the first few months). But upon opening the lid, you realize it was quiet because not a lot was happening to get the clothes clean. Now lets talk about the horrible smell... I dont know where its coming from... It occurs during the wash cycle and smells almost like a natural gas type odor. This is NOT because the washer wasnt cleaned once per month! Maybe its the bright orange RUST near the bleach dispenser or all along the inside rim of the lid... Remember its ONLY 1 and 1/2 years old. Before I get to the ISSUE that finally did this machine in... I have to mention the machines UNEVEN load response.. Brace yourself, it sounds like 1000 tribal drums... and if you dont readjust the 200 lb water logged load, it will just keep on filling up with water and draining indefinitely (so dont leave the house if youre washing jeans, blankets or sheets!). The FINALE of our machine is what I kind of always suspected it would be... the lid lock!!!! One day it stopped in the middle of a cycle and the door remained locked... After unplugging and retrying, the door unlocked, the buttons all worked, but the machine will not fill up with water or start a cycle. To be honest... I am so GRATEFUL! I get to buy a new machine and although Im pretty pissed that the machine died after just 1.5 years, we can finally have CLEAN clothes again, peaceful laundry days and get rid of the ITCHIES!!!! Bye bye FOREVER Maytag!!!!!!

I purchased a Maytag Bravo HE washer and dryer! The biggest mistake I ever made! Three inches of water is max for a load of clothes! This is max full or actually empty. The washer was a third full of clothes and only the bottom layer was wet when it went into rinse! After pulling a calf I really wanted the top pants washed. Nope. Went in dirty and dry to the rinse cycle to spread the bacteria throughout the load. The soap was still laying on the dry clothes on top. Repair guy spent two hours and couldnt get enough water to at least dampen all the clothes in the wash cycle. I would like to see how much cow afterbirth bacteria was still in clothes. I didnt buy a machine to dry wash my clothes! I have asked for my money back on the pair through the performance warranty. Well see! I am not giving it a star as it doesnt earn one!

We purchase a matching Maytag washer and dryer set and within the first three months our washer began to give us error codes and would not wash our clothes completely on any cycle. It was repaired and we began to have the same issues within the next couple of months. This all happened within the first year. We called customer service about extending our service warranty due to the multiple malfunctions of this washer. We were given the run around and, quite frankly, the attitude that this was not their problem. I WILL NOT BUY ANOTHER MAYTAG PRODUCT! I own a Maytag dishwasher - it is a few years old now. I first filed a complaint in 2011. We have had it repaired several times - the control panel keeps breaking. Why is it that my grandmothers old dishwasher worked for 30-40 years and now you are lucky if you can get an appliance that works for a year without breaking? This planned obsolescence is ridiculous. Do not buy Maytag products - hit them where it hurts - in the wallet. They used to build quality products, but not anymore. Eppsteiner & Fiorica Attorneys, LLP, at 866-548-8857 - if you are having atrocious problems with your Maytag dishwasher (they mentioned Fridgidaire, too) - because of the control panel, please call. The company wont fix the issue unless they are forced to.

As all the other reviews day 1 Dryer had no heat, washer unbalanced and knotting all the clothes. Sent out new dryer after trying to fix to no avail. One month after new dryer, normal cycle continues to run and not turn off. Repairs again - new computer board. Now washer is winding high pitch noise level - repair new bearings. Thank goodness for warranty. But washer and dryer act up again. I purchased extended warranty. Washer tub needed replacing because transmission went out, dryer again control panel problems. Last night the dryer started on FIRE. I’m sure because the control panel normal was not working again after it was replaced less than 2 yrs ago. Total time owned 6 miserable years. Going back to basics, ugh....

Our home has seven Maytag appliances: an upstairs kitchen, downstairs suite and laundry room. All were brand new six years ago and what we thought to be good quality by the price we paid for them. We have lived to regret ever dropping a cent into Maytags business account, as we have had nothing but trouble with them. We dont have small kids or teenagers abusing them. Its just us and a very responsible single adult downstairs. And every time we turn around, one of them is costing us nothing but money and grief. Our first problems began with our upstairs fridge when it was only two years old. At that time, it cost us $400 and since then, it just goes on and on. Last week, our downstairs fridge quit, and today, our upstairs one quit. We have had work done on our range, as well as our washing machine and dishwasher. If you are thinking of buying a Maytag appliance, dont, unless you like to throw away your money. I couldnt believe when I looked up Consumer Reviews on Maytag appliances tonight that I would find only 1 out of 5 stars, and read all the terrible reviews written by angry consumers. Well, add me to the list because I will never buy another appliance from Maytag again, and am beginning to think its time to sell this house to get rid of these stupid, useless, pieces of ** Maytag appliances! Sorry, people, but I cant afford to keep replacing them!

Purchased washer less than 2 years ago. Loud noise like a jet engine or helicopter in spin cycle. Did not purchase the extended warranty. Called Whirlpool/ Maytag customer service. Was told I could have one of their repair people come out. I would have to pay $300 which would give me the repair and extended 1 yr warranty, or I could get $300 off toward a purchase of a new washer. Are you kidding me? This washer wasnt even 2 yr old and making this horrid noise in the spin cycle. I had to have a independent repairman for Maytag washers come out to tell me it wash the bearing and would cost 3 to 4 hundred dollars to fix it. I said no thanks and after his $90 service call am stuck listening to this piece of junk make noise till it completely breaks. I will never buy a Whirlpool product again or recommend one. Whirlpool you sell nothing but junk.

My husband and I are retired. In 2006, we purchased a Maytag stove, refrigerator and dishwasher thinking we bought the best. Since purchase, we have had repairs on all 3 appliances costing us over $1000. We are installing our 4th electronic control touchpad replacement today at a cost of $250.00 each. We had a new oven electronic ignitor replaced on the same stove. The compressor on the refrigerator had to be replaced! The drawer mechanism on the dishwasher had to be replaced. We will never recommend or purchase your products ever again!

I bought my Maytag in 2013. It worked fine at first but for the last year it isnt getting clothes clean. In fact, some look like theyve never been washed. I have to run the rinse cycle 2-3 times and they still seem somewhat soapy. The washer still leaves clothes drippy after running the spin cycle. It takes 2-3 hours to complete a small load. I wish I had my old Kenmore back. It worked fine for nearly 20 years!

I have a Maytag washer that I bought new in 1995! It is still washing my clothes like a champ. It must be true - the Maytag repairman is a lonely soul, in all these years I have never had to call him!

Purchased 4 Maytag kitchen appliances - stove, double oven, fridge, dishwasher - was told that they were all made in the USA. WRONG. The microwave comes from China - not sure why Maytag is not being honest. Not happy with my purchases - even though we spent $4000 to buy American. Warranty service is awful - even extended warranty is a joke. Would never purchase Maytag again.

We purchased our Bravos XL Washer and Dryer from Home Depot in November 2012. We also purchased the three-year extended warranty. I just replaced the washer today, and definitely NOT with a Maytag. We only spent that much on the Bravos XL set as we were heading into retirement and wanted to update our appliances. Maytag has always had a decent reputation, so we decided on this particular set.This washer was a terrible purchase decision. The drain hose had to be replaced due to leaking. We handled that fine. However, just past the extended warranty period, the main bearing went out. Also, the transmission was going out, and the washer was spewing nasty black fluid all over from underneath. The repair was going to be a minimum of $750.00 just for the bearing and tub assembly, and the repairman was honest and said it wasnt worth it, to just replace the washer. We didnt even discuss the transmission issue. We were more than a little disappointed in the duration of life out of this washer. I had my other washer for 20 years plus. Thankfully, and hopefully, the dryer will remain in good working order for some time.Being a senior, this was not the expected lifetime I was after out of a major appliance. I dont need this sort of expense every four years, or less as Ive read on these reviews. On average I do 2 to 3 normal sized loads of laundry a week at most. Not good Maytag, not good. If there ever is a class action suit in regard to these machines, Im interested!

We bought a new Maytag Bravo washing machine last spring. It was easy to understand the instructions, but that is all that was good about it. Like everyone is saying. It doesnt wash the clothes completely. On every dark load I have what looks like streaks of lint. I contacted Maytag. They gave me suggestions for solutions. None of them worked. I have put the clothes on for a second rinse and spin and it got out some of the lint. Also. they are evidently spun so hard in the washer, after they come out of the dryer they are a wrinkled mess. All the wash and wear, which is almost everything we own, is wrinkled. I have to iron every item. Never again a Maytag for us. If there is a class action suit, I want in on it.

The Maytag Washer and Dryer we bought new and they have been great. The dryer was bought in 1972 and still works well. The washer was bought in 1997 and still does a good job. We are satisfied with the long time these 2 appliances have lasted. Do any appliances manufactured today last that long?

I use a late model Maytag front loader. It does a great job cleaning and uses very little soap and water. To date I have NOT had to call the repairman to work on it. All in all I am VERY satisfied.

I am angry that Maytag puts out a washer that hasnt been through quality control. The computer panel is a piece of **, and is not worth $1.00. Do not buy this washer. Shame on Maytag.

My dishwasher, purchased in 2013 sings the same tune as many of these complaints...stopped working correctly, turned on whenever it wanted to, etc. Thought it was the cpu...no. Called Whirlpool and they gave me the same runaround that they give everyone...more money for a temporary fix. Did some more research that led me here and discovered that the ribbon cable leading to the control panel was fried due to heat and moisture. Easy to check for yourself... looks like brown crap on the cable...if you have a meter, you can easily check it. Tried to repair it, very difficult, but I tried. NEWS?...I wrote a complaint to the Better Business B... and mentioned that this is a safety issue, which it is.Believe it or not, just received a call from the corporate office (Whirlpool) and they were interested...I actually got their attention. They said they would have someone contact me... she did today... so this is encouraging. I dont know what they are offering, but this poor design is a serious problem, and if you want to get in Whirlpools face better go through the BBB. I already have purchased a new part and am adding silicone to the cable to protect it from the heat...but Im really seeking full reimbursement because this is not going to end well. Good luck...

I purchased a Maytag Washer Model MVWB765FW in April 2017. Its transmission has failed, makes lot of noise. The cost to repair is about $500. for Parts and Labor, under the 10 year Limited Warranty, as advised by Factory Service. I am better off buying a new Washer for that cost. The days of Maytag reliability are gone. I would not recommend this product to anybody.

The Maytag MGR5875QDW oven does not come up to temperature. It might start, but then it will give 2 dings and show a failure. I have called the 800 number in the manual. There’s no good help. I turned the power off and then on. It’s no help. This a pain in the rear end. That is a kind way of saying it. Home phone is **; cell phone number is **. Call me any time. Thank you. We have reported the first time use of New Gas Range using the oven and range top at the same time is impossible because of BURN HAZARD AND the response was soft with no explanations. The range arrived March 26, 2015. We were impressed with first baking only. Family arrived at our vacation home for Easter celebration. Our first meal on Good Friday using both oven and range top was a disaster and the cook was burned on the stainless steel knobs. The oven vents below the knobs were about the temperature of the 380 degree setting of the oven!We rendered the unit unusable and called Maytag customer care department during the late table dinner. I explained on the 45 min call we were having this event and would be all leaving Thursday and their solution was 8 to 10 day shipping of Fake composite stainless looking knobs. These knobs will have to be sent to our Ohio home 500 miles west of the Range location?? If they could ship that day why not overnight??THE SOLUTION OF WEARING OVEN MITTS FOR STOVETOP COOKING IS NOTHING SHORT of silly to conduct meals for our guest. And other members of our family that we permit occasional use of the home open to burns using this Range until we drive 1000 miles round trip to drive the knobs back to NJ from Ohio??? Customer Care fails to listen. We will not be returning until May. To illustrate my concerns about the logistical issues I asked if Maytag would pay for the mileage and tolls for me to replace BURN proof knobs. Oh and will it work or melt? Furthermore who will pay for the takeout needed to feed our family? He did not get it and consulted with supervisors for most of the call therefore 45 min of wasted call. No solution, self installation on an $800 Range. Dissatisfied CUSTOMER with an unusable Gas Range Burn HAZARD!! Poor Design oven vents less than 2 inches below stove knobs! See Photos.

My Maytag refrigerator (bottom freezer) is about four years old now. Since the first year, it has been freezing up. The refrigerator gets warm and the freezer stays cold. Two repairmen have looked at it, replaced the electric panel and the thermostat - neither repair fixed the problem. If you completely defrost it, it will start working again. For about three years, it would work for a few months, but now it will only run for about two weeks before freezing up again. I called Maytag when this first started happening and again recently. They say they have never heard of anyone having this problem and they are sorry. The woman said she would put my complaint in my file. I certainly would recommend that people avoid Maytag refrigerators.

Never dies, never have had to have it serviced. House burned down is reason why it died. So I rebuilt, bought another one, then moved took it with me, then left it with my daughter and moved to Mexico. The dryer is still working to date and this all happened over 10 years ago. I sooo want another one. Best brand period. I only buy Maytag as they last. Unfortunately I do not have one now as they were unavailable in this country so bought something different. I was told the machine I have currently was as good as a maytag - they lied. I recently found out they have them now, so when I can afford one again, I will purchase one.

This washer is no better than a glorified garbage can. Maytag AKA Whirlpool should be ashamed to put their name on this product. Like others before me on this website my washing machine sounds like a jet is taking off in my basement. When I contacted a serviceman, he told me the drum seal is broken and the bearings are shot. I have the machine since April 11, 2011. Not even three years to date! I do not have an extended warranty so shame on me to believe that a 900.00 machine should last well beyond 3 years. Unfortunately, I am getting the run around from Whirlpool as all of you have experienced. This is criminal. Not only are we as consumers being defrauded by irresponsible manufacturing but these huge hunks of metal and plastic are polluting our environment. Our parents had washing machines and dryers for as long as 20 to 25 years and they actually cleaned clothes. We now have high efficiency machines that destroy our clothing and leave them dirty and wrinkled. They are now made to break in 5 years and from what I see on this website the average for breakdown is becoming 3 years. Do you think that this is not by design? The service call turns out to be more than the value of the machine, so the repairman doesnt even profit as consumers refrain from costly repair and repurchase. The only profitability is gained by the manufacturers that keep pushing out junk to the consumer. These manufacturers should be accountable like the American auto-manufacturers became accountable for the junk they manufactured at the expense of a whole city, Detroit.

Refrigerator 1F122269VEM7 not making ice, shelves broke, freezer drawers stuck, and motor running like an automobile. Refrigerator only 2 years old. Paid 4000 dollars and this is not acceptable. Reviews online very disappointing. Other reviews on this product not good. People having all kinds of products with not resolve.

In April 17, 2015, I purchased another Maytag microwave but wanted the convection oven too from Home Depot. The convection fan quit working in January 2017. I called Maytag to ask how this was covered. Maytag only has 1 year warranty on parts and labor. So basically if you dont buy an extended warranty, you are stuck with a product that quits working. Apparently, Maytags work is only good for 1 year or they would have a longer warranty. I told the Rep this when I spoke to him. He told me they normally last 5-7 years. Wow, still not acceptable. He said I had two options. Maytag could send out a repairman and it would cost almost $300. The other option was just as ridiculous. I told him I paid almost $500 to start with and it only lasted 21 months. Of course he said if I had bought extended warranty it would have helped. If I paid $500 for an oven, why should I have to pay more to cover their bad workmanship?!! I am very disappointed in the quality and price of this convection oven. The bad thing is I bought all new Maytag stainless steel appliances in 2016 to match the convection oven. The products I replaced had been in my home for 12 years with no problems.

I have a Model MBF 1958XES4 which I bought from Home Depot in June of 2012. It has leaked repeatedly onto my wood floor. The water also collects and freezes on the floor of the freezer. I already have warped floor boards as a result. I just got it fixed. The repair person said he has done over 200 of these repairs in the last year. He also said Maytag knows its a defect and has supplied them with replacement parts. The company apparently tells its repair companies not to discuss this with their customers. I have yet to contact Maytag, although apparently from others experiences that will be futile. Im willing to join others in pursuing this. I had a 40 year old Kelvinator which was still working well which I replaced with this refrigerator when I redid my kitchen.

I bought a new refrigerator and when I plugged it in would not cool. I called and the authorized tech came and said the compressor was bad and the evaporator was rusted and hoses were greased up. I have now been informed that the warranty was void because it was put in a dental office and not a single home. I said since it was never used I would put it in a house. They said it was void and I was out of luck. I always thought maytag sold good products but this has convinced me to never buy a product from them again. It never worked and the tech said it should be replaced but they said he should never had told us this.

The refrigerator is barely over two years old and the bottom pan fills with water, freezes and leaks out onto floor. Is a very common problem with these refrigerators and Maytag is happy to pay for the new part to fix it, but will not pay for any person to fix it. They have known this is a problem for a while, but will do nothing to fix it. They clearly do not stand behind their product with a known ongoing problem. The Maytag repairman is no longer not busy. Will never buy a Maytag appliance again! Will take the new part and fix it ourselves.

I purchased my first and last Maytag double door bottom freezer in Aug 2018. The ice maker shoots ice out all over the floor, only half make it into the glass. It also sounds as though ice is falling down inside door. I had the ice maker replaced twice, the gasket as well, the back removed to check for water line blockage NO avail. Before the first ice maker replacement it sounded like a freight train. I questioned whether I had received a store second from Home Depot or a return as the stickers inside had been removed but HD couldn’t assist and Maytag didn’t care. Definitely NOT worth the 2000 I paid.

DB7749SAM1 Maytag Stainless Steel Dishwasher worked great for 14 months then lights went crazy. My last machine was 30 years old before its motor died. I should have fixed it. Maytag needs to step up and fix this. I will make sure everyone knows from here on out, social media is a wonderful thing. I have not even used it that much - still looks brand new and this is unbelievable. I have seen so many bad reviews now on how Maytag has built poorly designed appliances and then to add insult to injury they will not fix their mistakes.

Front load washer unit does not respond to control inputs. I have called Maytag service and support. One can find a repair or maintenance manual. Im in a smaller market so there is limited service. Maytag service and online support is terrible. Maytag stores are fronts for independent service companies. Its probably okay, but misleading. Everyone wants to order the main controller board. It would be good to have a maintenance manual.

Major issues with the Aqua Lift Range. Takes forever to preheat the oven, 15-20 minutes to reach 375 f- 400 f. Aqua clean cycle not efficient and does not clean at all. The stove top is impossible to select and keep the heat consistent. When adjusting the heat up or down when you slightly move the dial it overreacts. When moved the heat sways may more than selected. The fridge works well but the bottom drawer is way too flimsy and it wont last a long time as it will crack. This is our first purchase of Maytag appliances and it will be our last. We have had this refrigerator (Maytag Side By Side Refrigerator with Ice Dispenser 27 CU) for 5 years this month and have already had to have it serviced once and now the ice dispenser just went out. I wish there was a brand out there that did not have problems and when problems occur, you do not get the runaround to get them fixed!

We bought our new Maytag top loading washer and matching dryer about 2 years ago. I am a busy woman so I havent had the time to write a review, but today being my day off, once again I find myself frustrated and disappointed with this set. The washing machine has a huge capacity, which was a huge selling point for me, however, if I put more than a small load in, the clothes come out still dirty, stinky and even have dry spots on them where they werent even in contact with the water. Even on deep fill it cleans the clothes inadequately, but at least they get wet. The dryer leaves the clothing rough and wrinkled unless I use the delicate setting, which I do for all cloths, and I use fabric softener liquid and a dryer sheet.I had a front load washer and dryer before, and my clothes came out clean and beautifully soft, but I replaced them because of the musty smell problem from the washer. I wish I would have kept them and figured it out. This set is the worst and I spent so much money on them. It takes so long to wash a load of laundry, and there is no way to interrupt a cycle without it draining and starting over completely. I have tons of laundry to do and I started 2 hours ago and the first load is still going. Geesh!!! Dont buy a Maytag. I paid for the extended warranty, but they are not broken. They have sucked from the very beginning.

We purchased a new Maytag Bravo washer and dryer on March 4, 2011. On January 26, 2015, our washer stopped spinning the clothes. We purchased these appliances while preparing for retirement, thinking we would possibly never have to purchase them again. There is only two of us! Wrote to Maytag (when it was still Maytag) and got a response of So sorry **, we can fix your washer for $319.00. We could buy a new washer for not much more than that!!!!!

I bought this Maytag French door model MFF2258VEW2 in 2010. Within the first year, it was freezing my vegetables. They sent someone out to fix it. Thank goodness it was under warranty. The man laid the bill down and it was over $800 to fix it. Six months later, it froze up. I called and they said they would send someone out, but I would have to pay for it. Im on disability and cant pay that kind of money. I got someone to come out and fix it. Well, guess what? It has started freezing my vegetables again. This is the third time this thing has gone bad. What do these people think they are doing putting things out like this? I had a Maytag for 30 years and never had any problem with it. So I saved and saved to get me a new one but I will never buy another Maytag. The company should have to replace all the refrigerators that are like this one.

We purchased a MDB8949SAW dishwasher in 2013. 1 month after the warranty expired the touch buttons went on it. If you selected normal it would opt for something else like rinse only. We researched online and my husband followed instruction online to take the door off and seal the moisture to prevent this from happening. This worked for about 2 months and now back to the same thing. We paid $500 for this and just living with the problem for now. All we can do is warn others.

Just like most of the other consumers, the control panel on my three year old Maytag dishwasher (MDB 6701AWW3) has failed for the fourth time. The cost of repairs and extended warranties has now far surpassed the original cost of the machine, which was $400. Today when I called Maytags customer service, I was offered another extended warranty for $316.05 for one year. I suggested that there was a defect in design but was assured that this was probably due to use of the machine. I guess if I left it as an unused space filler, it would last forever. They commiserated with my frustration. Never again will I purchase this brand.

We have had this refrigerator since January 2011. All was OK for 18 months. Then the lid to the deli drawer fell off, the plastic bar that holds the two drawers up broke (weve had to use roof shingles to prop them up) and another one of the plastic pieces crumbled. Now the ice maker wont work and the refrigerator makes a loud ticking noise. There are only two older adults here and we have not treated this appliance roughly. After reading all the complaints on this site, Im wondering if any of it is worth fixing. My GE refrigerator worked for almost 20 years.

I bought the Maytag Bravo XL washer and dryer several years ago after reading many reviews. I like the glass top of the washing machine and the front door glass on the dryer. The dryer is fine its the washing machine that does not perform like the old machines. Whoever came up with the bright idea of saving water by cutting down the volume in your machine to about 6 inches for a good size load probably have never used a washing machine in their life. It does not get your clothes clean and does not get the soap out of a clothing to my satisfaction. Who made this suggestion? Could it be the same branch of government that made everybody use those spiral light bulbs years ago? The fluorescence that give off loads of EMF?

A month ago I purchased a 25 cu ft side by side. First the recirculating fan quit. It was repaired. But the water and ice hose in the door froze and cracked the entire freezer door. Must be replaced, unfortunately they dont have any, so I was quoted 6 weeks for a new door, that has turned into 12 weeks and they cant guarantee me a date. I requested a replacement fridge and was told, They cant do that. I purchased the full Maytag package - stove, dishwasher, microwave. I expect better customer service than that, Take a door off the assembly line and ship it to me.

Is there any place to give a zero to this Maytag Front Load Washing Machine Model MHW5500FW1 and if there is a class action lawsuit please include us! We have owned other Maytag Washing Machines and never experienced such an epic failure as we have with this washing machine! We were so excited when we purchased our new Maytag washer/dryer set in March of 2018 we even remodeled our pantry/laundry room to accommodate them! As the chief operator of the washing machine, I have literally cried at what a mistake weve made! We have no complaint of the Maytag dryer. Let me describe my new normal procedure for laundering a load of clothes. First, load the washer with clothes then press power/cancel then press rapid wash let the clothes get HOPEFULLY saturated with water then hit hold to start and then hit power/cancel this shuts off the washing machine. I then press power/cancel again and select normal and the water empties out of the washing machine from the prior load and then starts to refill, if the add a garment light comes on (when it wants too) and no I dont change any pre-set settings I am able to add extra water with a pitcher, if this procedure works I let the washer run its 1-hour and 48-minute cycle. If not, I have to start over again because the add garment light wouldnt come on to allow the door to unlock. After the clothes are finished I again press power/cancel then hit rapid wash put my fabric softener in the dispenser press hold to start and let it run its 36-minute cycle making sure my clothes are rinsed appropriately and not stiff because of the lack of water. I neglected to say that when Ive tried tricking the washer and think I am able to add extra water, if Ive added too much the sensing kicks in and the washing machine drains all the water out on its own and refills with the little water it allows! Which is maddening! I throw up my hands and sit down and cry!!! I have contacted Maytag/Whirlpool complaining about the lack of water and their wacky water sensor! I asked them how can you conserve water and electricity when you have to wash your clothes over and over with long wash cycles? This doesnt make sense! My white clothes are now dingy and stiff as well as the colored. Maytag says you can use powdered detergents if its HE High Efficiency powdered detergents, but thats not true. The detergent doesnt dissolve and ends up on the clothes at the end of the long wash cycle because of the lack of water! From the beginning I adjusted the amount of powdered detergent for the front load washer and have to dissolve it in hot water prior to washing and hopefully am able to add it to the clothes if the add a garment will let me! I have now resorted to extra cycles to rinse out any remaining detergent hoping my clothes will be soft and fresh smelling. I had planned to replace my old Maytag agitator washing machine with this piece of junk front loader, fortunately we kept our old washing machine as a back up!

I purchased an expensive Maytag washer & dryer, top loading, energy efficient, only to find it now shreds all of my towels, robes, dress, undies etc. Maytag reply was to put things like undies, t-shirts, & dresses in bags to wash... What about towels? I had an expensive white Terry cloth robe from Neiman Marcus which is now shredded, Im showing it to everyone. Plus the dryer has an area above the front door that snags everything. I open the door & clothing is hanging there, caught on this area. Tell everyone not to buy Maytag, theyre rip-off. Ive lost more money on ruined clothes & linens than the trash washer & dryer are worth, but Im disabled, handicapped, 61 yr old who cant afford to buy another new washer!

We went to Lowe’s to buy a new washer when our old front loader would’ve cost more to repair than was worth it. This Bravo XL washer is the biggest rip off EVER!! I, like others, have watched with a flashlight & see that most clothes are nowhere NEAR being wet AT ALL!! Let me tell you... I am BEYOND LIVID!! I bought this washer thinking we could wash our comforter at home instead of a laundromat and WHAT A JOKE!! It would never even wet a FOURTH of a queen comforter, let alone the whole thing!! My husband had to actually LEAVE HIS JOB to go home and change because his shirts smelled like a wet animal! People actually were commenting on the smell!!Believe me, we tell EVERYONE how ridiculous this whole energy saving scam is!! AND... I am having to wash clothes TWO and THREE times to get them NEAR smelling normal!! My electric bill and water bill have gone up substantially and again, I AM LIVID BEYOND WORDS!! We spent over $900 for this washer with the extended warranty!!! NEVER EVER AGAIN WOULD I BUY MAYTAG!!! And I have tried EVERYTHING to try to rectify this; I added less detergent, I’ve used the deep water wash, extra rinses. I’ve had the Maytag technician here replacing the circuit board thinking perhaps THAT would give me more water. I sure wish we could all do something for SO MANY of us being taken advantage of!!! I received my Maytag dishwasher in November of 2013 from Home Depot (It was a month overdue the expected delivery date). It was installed by a certified electrician/contractor. By February of 2014, the control panel had to have its first replacement. It is now July 2014 and we are having the repairman come out to replace the third control panel this Monday. Supposedly there was a recall on the control panel and the one replaced less than a month ago was the improved/repaired one. We are beyond frustrated. I too sought Home Depot for help after the first repairman they suggested charged us almost half the cost of the dishwasher for his repair. I have already sunk over the price of the product into repairs. My Maytag dryer broke last week as well. Someone needs to get involved with this situation, perhaps a contact to the media? I think we are all being scammed and deserve refunds by Maytag for the dishwashers and our repair costs.

On my 3rd circuit board for a MDB7749SBMO MODEL dish washer. The people at Maytag are people that wont even talk to you about it. How many people have to complain before theres a recall on a faulty ribbon cable.

I bought the dishwasher (Model MDB7749AWM) 15 months ago and paid $490.00. I had to put a new console in it ($245.00) on 07/16/2012. So that’s $735.00. Two days ago, the console went out again! I’m not putting $245 more in it! I called Maytag’s office. They more or less told me that was my problem! I am throwing that piece of junk away! And I’m buying a different brand. Maytag does not stand behind their product. Last Maytag I will buy! Warning! Do not buy Maytag!

Maytag Neptune was purchased over 15 years ago to replace GE, which we purchased when children were little. I wanted a step up in quality. I remember paying around $499 for this unit. This is an analog unit. The intellidry feature has been a real asset, protecting our clothes from over drying. We have had this machine for nearly 20 years. It has been real reliable, sometimes drying 20 loads a week. Large capacity, but has to fit down a narrow and twisting stairway. Must be energy efficient, have good reviews and decent price. We always look for sales or buying incentives. Brand is secondary to quality. Knowledge of an appliances historical reputation is important. I would look at reviews, especially concerning cost of repair. I would attempt to get a hands-on view, before purchase from a reputable supplier at the best price. My dryer has only required one major repair in the time Ive had it. A few years ago we replaced the motor and blower, and I have personally replaced the drum support rollers twice. I hesitate to replace this machine, because the analog controls have proved very reliable.

Maytag Bravos XL Washer and Dryer. How exciting to get a new washer/dryer!! Im a savvy bargain and quality shopper, but I really messed up here. A little over a year ago, we moved from IL back to TX and I got to buy a new washer AND dryer at the same time (a rarity). I went and looked at SO many washers/dryers and decided on the Maytag Bravos XL because a friend said she loved hers. It had a deep water wash and bedding cycle (for our blankets, comforters, sleeping bags, etc), and I thought that I could throw that wayward sock in after I started the load (unlike our previous front load washer).Where do I begin with the complaints? (And Im NOT a complainer - never filled out a review in my life). This is what I sent to Maytag: 1) Im 55 tall and can barely reach the items at the bottom of the drum, along with the lid falling on my head when Im trying to do so. 2) Forget throwing in the wayward sock - it must finish the cycle its in before it will let you unlock the lid (Where did locked lids come from anyway? Is that how those missing socks are disappearing - escaping out of unlocked lids? What are we trying to keep in or who are we trying to keep out of the machine? Doors you lock - not washing machines! I dont get it!).3) Even the deep water/bedding wash cycle does not do the job. Using the exact recommended measurement of HE liquid soap does not get the items clean. What a chore to take something out and have white detergent lines all over it and have to wipe it down with a wet cloth. Sure, I could then do a rinse and spin cycle, but since it doesnt add enough water, it doesnt come out much better. The machine senses by weight how much water to use. I am positive that every energy efficient machine is now programmed to add exactly 4 cups of water per load (regardless if its a comforter or one pair of jeans).4) Supposedly, we are saving so much water usage, but energy efficient is a misnomer - it takes me twice as long to do laundry now. The time factors are ridiculous. There are no quick cycles on this machine. If I have a load of delicate tops that just need a quick wash and rinse before I hang them out (I was not out baling hay in them, so its not like they are filthy dirty. In Texas, its the sweat that you are trying to eliminate), the least amount of time I can find on a cycle is 45 minutes. I might as well hand wash them all and be done in 5 minutes. But, that was the point of the washing machine - to do the work for me! And forget the deep water wash cycle of 58 minutes, plus the added rinse and spin cycle (to try and remove the white soap line). Its now taken one and one-half hours to try and clean/refresh a barely soiled comforter.5) The spin cycle is SO efficient, that I have items come out totally dry many times in certain spots. Im washing a comforter right now and I can guarantee you that when I remove it from the washer, there will be an entire section that looks like it never even got wet. Im no engineer, but after watching through the see-through lid, the agitation is not working well enough to get to every section.6) I havent seen a soap bubble or suds yet. You are told to use such a small amount of detergent, Im not sure how anything actually gets clean. The clothes are sprinkled with water, agitated a small amount, spun until they are almost dry and voila - the same dirty clothes come out! 7) The dryer has now ruined 2 of my bras as the hooks get caught in the mesh panel at the back. It literally melted part of the bra! I tried hooking them together before I threw them in there, but now have to put them in a lingerie bag to keep them from being mauled and mutilated. I have NEVER in 37 years of marriage and washing had that happen before.8) I literally could not get my dryer to turn on and a repairman had to come out to the house to show me the amount of pressure I had to use in one finger to start the dryer. I had almost taken a hammer to it before he arrived. Can you imagine pressing the start button on anything - the dishwasher, a hair dryer, a TV remote control, and it not turning on? And all because you pressed too hard or too light? This computer age and electronic panels are killing me! 9) The dryer has the same locking system as the washing machine. So, if you didnt see the wayward sock on the floor or between the two units until after you pushed (lightly, of course) the start button, you have to stop the unit before you can open the door to throw the sock in.I didnt mean to write a novel (about a washer and dryer, no less)! But, I feel better and hope that I have saved one woman from making the same mistake I did. Read those reviews AND believe them. And by the way, my friend who recommended the Bravos XL to me looked at mine and said Thats NOT my washer and dryer. Evidently, mine was the new and improved version! So much for that claim!

We purchased a washer and dryer, spent in the neighborhood of 1000.00 hard earned $$... extended warranty, the whole enchilada. Maytag. dependable, lonely repair man, ha.. that is just so much stuff. Well anyway it was a Centennial set. What junk. Never really worked that well to begin with. I trashed them both after exhausting all avenues to make it right. Well I got the hair to report the mess to consumer affairs and see if they are what they claim to be. This is more of a warning to all consumers.The stuff you consume today isnt worth the money you pay for it. The money isnt worth the time you spent to earn it. I am gonna try to find a old washer and rebuild it, and a dryer as well. Or just use solar. Best to keep the old stuff repaired and running. I dont know how many people I have spoken to about this problem. Our infrastructure is crumbling. A consumer based economy. Only there is not anyone to service the products we consume... pitiful. I guess my wife will be out back with a tub and washboard before it is all said and done... she will not like it, I guarantee that. I could not even begin to repair the washer. It was a computer operated board that did not work correctly from the beginning. The dude came out from the repair shop and fixed it while still under warranty. It died a slow painful death shortly after that. I disassembled it with a screwdriver and now have potatoes growing in the tub.The dryer has not met the same fate yet. It just sits there, anticipating the moment when I remove it and dissect it with a Sawzall. And I guarantee that day is coming. Do not buy anything from Maytag or its subsidiaries, think long term. We have become a bic lighter economy. I have been on the forefront of that movement. I did not realize it at the time. I do now. and for that I am sorry. I always expect something to work when I need it and if it doesnt, I try to repair it. Cannot fix this stuff now. Very disappointed with my 2014 purchase of model MDB8959SBS3 dishwasher. In fact it is no longer in service. We used the dishwasher approximately twice a day. The wheels on the pull out racks starting falling apart in the first 6 months. Then the soap dispenser failed. It would not shut. We replaced both the wheels and the dispenser only to find ourselves with the exact same problems in a matter of months. My hubby got really good at fixing both of these items. The final straw was earlier this year as when we turned it on the motor/water pump started making a screeching sound. Never had to replace an appliance that was only four years old in my lifetime. Just very disappointed with the quality of Maytags dishwasher.

Maytag Centennial eco conserve clothes washer - I purchased a Maytag (non-agitating) washer, (model MVWC400XW) just about a year ago and I cant tell you how dissatisfied I am with this product. It does not clean the simplest of soil from garments. I have actually had clothes come out of the washer after a complete wash cycle, with dry clothes. They recommend putting soap in first, at the bottom of the washer and then load clothes; I have had clothes come out stained as a result the clothes sitting on top of the soap. I am requesting that I be able to return (have this washer picked up) from my home and replaced with a washer with an agitator or a compatible washer that actually washes clothes. I believe that this may qualify as a lemon with regards to California lemon laws.

I purchased a new Maytag dishwasher (model #MDB4651awb3) for $300, in December of 2009. Seven months later, the dishwasher refused to start. Some lights on the front panel would remain on, while others would not respond. The Maytag repairman made a house call and replaced the front control panel, and vent. After the repair, the dishwasher worked fine for nine months. Then, the same thing happened again. It refused to start with the same front panel light problem. I called Maytag, and since the machine was now past the one year warranty, they wanted $275 for an additional 1 year warranty, to repair the machine. Since I can buy a similar new machine for $25 more, and felt this was now an ongoing problem, (it would be the third panel in less than two years). I expected Maytag to offer more to take care of their lemon problem. Since they refused to reconcile the situation, they obviously no longer stand by their machines. I will no longer buy Maytag/ Whirlpool machines, and do not recommend them.

Our problem started when the control lock button locked itself on. Called Maytag and told it wasnt covered by warranty but they did walk us through resetting the power and it fixed the problem until we ran the next load. Now when you try and set it, the rinse only light comes on. Bought the Maytag because I always believed them to be dependable - wrong!! I had a basic model Whirlpool running for a family of 5 for 25 years prior to this Maytag without ever having to call a repair person. Maytag wont deal with the issue so I would recommend to anyone else having any issues with unreliable appliances to do what I am doing - boycotting Maytag!!

Purchased washing machine, with insurance that was offered to me 9/17/10. May 2013, control panel went. June 2013, dial switch went. July 2014 washer motor drive & belt drive had to be replaced. August 2015 is broke again. Will never buy Maytag again.

After using my GE Profile to death we replaced it with a Maytag; mostly for the cost. Although I hate to admit this, remember the old saying you get what you paid for - Well its true at least in the case of this Maytag oven. I am a constant cook and own a bakery, I often bake many of my products at home. Since getting this oven I have had nothing but failures. The cakes are over done, underdone, cookies burnt, not cooked enough; my time frame for recipes is so off! I wrote a cook book and have baked for years so I know for a fact its not some miraculous mishap that all of a sudden I cant bake. Ive had them come calibrate the oven but still no success.Im going to call them again but I felt compelled to let people know this is the worst oven in history and avoid purchasing it at all cost. I plan on having the service team come out one last time but if this doesnt work I plan on replacing it. Its a Maytag Double Wall Oven-Top Convection-Self Cleaning model no: MEW9630DS-SS. BUYERS BEWARE!

Bought a Maytag HD top load washing 11/4/17. Within the first month the machine began to make a loud squealing noise during the wash cycle. A repairman came out 2 times before finally replacing the gearbox and tub. Within the last month or so the problem began again, another repairman came out twice, and once again, had to replace the gearbox and tub. When he left I ran a load and the machine sounded like a war was occurring inside of it. Very loud banging and grinding... heck I was wishing for just the squealing back! Maytag refuses to replace the machine and just keeps sending out repair people. The Maytag name once stood for quality but that was long ago.

I also purchased a Maytag refrigerator model #MBR1953YES3 at Home Depot less than 2 yrs. ago. A year had not passed and I noticed the freezer starting to freeze up. Water started to leak from the bottom freezer. My husband had to break chunks of ice that clogged the drain but still, it continues to freeze. We hired a certified technician to clean the drain but a few days later, a puddle of water appeared all over our kitchen. Now we have a towel to stop the water from coming under the refrigerator. I thought when I was buying a Maytag, I was buying the best. I now know that, it was the biggest mistake. I will think twice before ever considering buying a Maytag again.

I love the fact that there is no agitator in this machine. It give lots of room when washing bulky comforters. I also love the vast amount of settings for load size and the soil settings. The con of this washer is that it has broken down on us twice in the 2 years since we purchased it. The pump has gone out both times. Unfortunately it looks like we will be making a purchase of a new washer in the near future because another mechanical issue has arose.

we have trouble with maytag doublre oven. the oven is over 100 degree off set temp and is not consitant. some times high some times low. we have had ae repair out they relaced control board and circuit board same problem still exists. we had turner repair out they took a reading when it hit desires temp but did not stay to see temp rise above or below set temp. turner repair another tech order a temp probe the turner tech put in probe and jst left didnot even check oven. he was pissed off I quess. same problem still exisits. We bought stove from Nebraka furniture mart the said theyont support repair after 30 days. we hope and pray that the tech will report to Maytag (Whirlpool) that the stove is bad and we can get a new one. So far no repair action has helped. We had a repair person out to repair a leak on a whirlpool washer . he also is qualified on stove but not a whirlpool repair authorized repair person. He checkedd the stove and said it is 100 degees off and we need to get a new one. This is the worse designed product. The gaskets on the door keep making mold. The end caps that hold the pantry lid keeps snapping off, had to replace them twice. It is a very elaborate and complicated installation which of course they will not cover. The water dispenser is inside the left side of the fridge and the water runs so slow, that you lose a lot of the refrigeration by the time you fill a glass.This appliance is very noisy. The customer service is sometimes nonexistent. I called on 9-16, I waited 24 min on the line and decided to hang up. The next day I tried again after 15 min they hang up on me. I tried again later got Customer service, but no they could not help me with installation of a replacement for a warrantied part that snapped off for no reason at all. I have complained while this appliance was under warranty, and after. They do not care. My advice is stay clear of Maytag refrigerator, I CERTAINLY WILL.

We purchased a Maytag MDB7749SBWO Maytag dishwasher. Suddenly the control panel does not work. Trying to find out why I found that there are thousands of complaints about this known defect with water and steam getting in and corroding the control panel. Shame on Maytag for continuing to sell these without fixing the problem. I expected my dishwasher to last many years based on the Maytag reputation instead I need to replace it. I am not going to spend the money on a repair with a machine that will have the same problem again according to other consumers.

I bought two sets of Maytag washer and dryer. We have had them for less than a year and the tubs had to be replaced out of both of them. Now, its less than six months later and they are doing the same thing, so the tubs have to be replaced again. What kind of equipment are you making? This is just an outrage. Within 1 month Maytag sent 2 repairmen to repair my microwave. I paid $271.20 for the repair and part. The same 2 parts used the first 2 times were ordered again and I was told that Maytag could not get them again. The service and parts are supposed to be guaranteed for 3 months. Maytag refuses to refund me; offering me 15% off a new purchase. I would not buy from Maytag. They lost a customer.

We bought a Maytag Bravos XL MCT Washer from Lowes in Oct of 2016. We had cycle issues with it in Sept of 2018 and called the Appliance Repair Service. IT was determined that the Electronic Control board and UIC was bad and needed to be replaced. Estimated cost - +$700.00. We bought Maytag because we thought it was dependable. Not so. Less than two years of use and repairs are more than we paid for machine ($639.00). Receipt would not upload.

I started hearing the Maytag Microwave MMV4203DW00 beeping this morning after breakfast. I had not used it since the night before to heat up soup in a Corning Ware bowl. Its doing that 5E thing and nothing on the control panel works. Ive unplugged it, waited, plugged it back in and the same thing. It starts off saying Select Clock and 5E and then stops on the 5E. I bought this in Aug. 2010 and it is vented out the wall. Of course, that doesnt work now. The metal rack has never been put in it. Im single and the only one who uses it and I dont use it very much either. And this model only got the one 40-watt regular bulb over the range - lousy. And it doesnt work now either. And the control panel lights up orange. Had I known that, I would have never bought it in the first place. Of course, the stupid orange 5E lights up. Im unplugging it for good. Its not worth fixing. Do not buy this microwave!

3 years ago, we purchased all new Maytag appliances for our home. Within one year, we had issues with the top load refrigerator getting warm and the bottom load freezer getting extremely cold. After calling Maytag and getting horrible customer service (long wait on the phone, no supportive/suggestive advice, rude representative), we were given a phone number for a local Maytag repair man who charged $300 just to walk into the house.He was literally in and then out of our house within 10 minutes. His advice was to unplug and defrost the refrigerator for 24 hours. Thankfully, his suggestion worked, but should have been given to us as a troubleshooter by the representative on the phone with Maytag.We have had to unplug and defrost the refrigerator about every 3 weeks since. It has become very annoying and stressful. There is obviously a defect in the refrigerator that should be replaced by Maytag! I will never buy a Maytag product again.

Lets be real and say that people with good experiences dont often end up on websites writing reviews because they are busy enjoying their product! I purchased my set in early 2012 and will admit that initially there was a learning curve with using a washer with no agitator. I enjoy doing laundry and Im really good at it but with this washer I had to change my routine. Always pretreat stains. Deposit clothes loosely around the drum and shake clothes loose before putting them in the dryer. My clothes come out great! I have a child, two dogs and a greasy truck driver man and everyones clothes smell great. I can wash my king bedspread and anything else in my house with no issues. And my washer has never torn any of my clothing, however fragile. I dont iron often and I hand wash nothing.I give 4 stars instead of five for the extra steps to ensure my clothes are clean and wrinkle free. No they dont make things like they used to but thats with all the new stuff. My moms 3000 dollar Samsung set (her washer) isnt working as I write this. Too bad more people with good experiences dont get online and share. Hope this has been helpful.

I built a new home in November of 2013 and filled my house with all brand new top of the line Maytag appliances. Almost a year and a half in, my $2500 refrigerator is broken and all my food is lost. They send a repair man out; and guess what, the warranty is expired. So they wanted me to pay $800+ to have my refrigerator repaired a year and a half after I purchased it. I cant believe they have no shame in sending out products with their name on it that only last 1 1/2 years! I would never treat anyone like they treat their customers. They hold no responsibility. Their name holds no value to me anymore. I was extremely disappointed.

I bought a new washer and dryer on Sept. 9, 2011. Front Load Commercial 2000 Series. I have had Lowes to my home 2 times since it was delivered because it shimmies across the floor. I am very upset with the purchase of the Maytag front load washer. If you could please get back to me on what can be done. The top loader washer Commercial Technology washes very small loads well. I bought it for the deepwater wash. It DOES NOT work. It also has a auto sensing. Hate this washer. I have to pour buckets of water in the wash to fill it. Maytag/Whirlpool go back to the way it should be. If I want a full washer I should have it! At the end of the day IT IS MY WATER BILL!

Bought a Maytag washer from Lowes 3 years ago and it is just junk. I am 62 years old and never had a washer that actually broke down. What happened to good American technologies. My Maytag model MDB7749AWWI was purchased from Home Depot on March 10, 2011. On July 12, 2012, my dishwasher would not start. I had out of town guests and then the repair person was out of town, so I did not get anyone out to look at it until July 31. He stated that we had bad controls. The parts would be approximately $420.61. He could not get any parts because everyone was out of this part. Does that mean that all the dishwashers of this model number are broken? Is there a recall? This is unreal. When I was asked if I wanted extended warranty, I said no. If I needed an extended warranty, the equipment must be junk. Well, I needed the extended warranty. It is junk! I will never, never, never purchase another Maytag appliance as long as I live!

Our refrigerator is 2 years old and still under warranty. The ice maker had to be replaced. Now the water leaks on the floor. The deli drawer cover broke and when you get ice out of the ice dispenser it flies all over and goes on the floor. Our dealer has been fairly helpful.

In 2006, my wife and I purchased a new Maytag refrigerator, the model type with the freezer in a drawer near the floor and the drawer is under the main door of the fridge. The thing has a sealed system and has a freon leak which makes it nearly impossible and not financially prudent to try to fix. Two repairmen were out and I spent $200 for them to tell me the same bad news. Its unbelievable that this junk wouldnt even last ten years. What is this, Russia? Ive heard some of their awful appliance experience stories and now this can join them. The reliable Maytag repairman who never has anything to - you know the one. He is probably dead. Hes not really the one to blame here though, it is the reliability of Maytag that is dead and will remain so for as long as this company is alive. Dont ever trust or buy Maytag if you care about making your investment in new appliances last! Dont do it, people!

I bought a Maytag Bravos XL washer in 2017 for around $800 which suddenly stopped working about 1.5 weeks ago. The console wont turn on. I filed a service request on Maytags website which results in Maytag subcontracting the job to a local appliance servicing company. About 10 days later the appliance tech shows up to my house. I had to pay $125 to the service company for the technician just to show up. After, he tinkers with the machine and 5 minutes later gives me a quote totaling $789.07. Of that amount the parts component was $482.09. He told me that the computer was bad. I was appalled. This was a 2.5 year old well kept washer. I called Maytag company next day to see if they could at least cover the parts cost. Especially as I have a large family with 3 kids plus elderly family members. After waiting 33 minutes on the phone, the CSR took all the appliance info and tried to see if she could get Maytag to cover the parts cost, given my situation. After about 5 minutes, she told me that Maytag declined my request- quoting that my appliance did not have any warranty and that the notes on the computer regarding my appliance indicated that it was field scrap. Field scrap?? Really? This was an appliance that was bought at Home Depot.This is the lowest of lows that this company (Maytag/Whirpool) can stoop. For a billion dollar company, that are advertising their products as Made in America, they have no heart and no empathy for their customers. They build sub-standard products comprising of cheap parts so that their products only last a few months, then they try to sell you their sub-prime warranty services that are full of holes. And for those poor souls that dont sign up for their warranty services, God help them if their appliance breaks down. They are then left to deal with Maytag/Whirpools appliance service vulture contractors which in tandem with Maytag conspire to squeeze every last cent out of hard working Americans (Especially during these trying times).Just to compare my situation. My parents bought LG washers and dryers in 2008 which remain in full working operation to this day (12 years in operation). The Maytag Bravos broke down in 2.5 years. Use my experience as a lesson. Do yourself a favor and save yourself the headache and heartache. DO NOT, I mean DO NOT purchase or support Maytag/Whirpool appliances. You are better off spending your money with LG or Samsung.

Purchased a Maytag Centennial top load washer that will not fill with enough water to wash clothes. The washer was purchased from Lowes on August 17, 2016 and we tried to return but Lowes refused because we were passed the required 30 day return period. We contacted the Maytag company and they sent out service people who reported that there was nothing we could do other than wash small loads. The company also reported that if we tried any of the solutions on the web we would violate our Warranty. Since we find ourselves in this spot (we should have read all the bad reviews here before the purchase) we have decided to place the machine in a very visible spot across from a new 100 store shopping center on a truck with a 4x8 sign warning the public not to purchase this product.

We have had the same problem as everyone else. We have the freezer on the bottom model. It started when the fridge was less than a year old, with water on the floor and ice buildup on the bottom of the freezer. Since then we have needed to have same repairman come at least 4 times because the top part suddenly gets very warm, food spoils, and water accumulates under the produce drawers. Our repairman has told us that newer models have improved design, but that doesnt help us. This fridge is now about 3 years old, bought it at Home Depot. This is unacceptable.

I had six service calls, one was a few months after purchase when under warranty for loud noise. I bought it in 08 and since then during the last 6 months, its freezing in the refrigerator. Service person is upset. I contacted corporate and they do not care and told me I should have bought their warranty. Yes, they had to be here when it was under warranty. Still freezing, they played with air hoses, replaced the temp panel and did everything they can, with no results. Theyre giving it one more try and it is going to be hooked up to the Silverado and put on I-75 with a sign on it. Do not buy from this company. Terrible service. I emailed CEO and no response. I just tossed a tomato and strawberry on the tile floor. Yes, buy American. They moved their plant from Indiana (union) to I think TN for non-union. Well, get what you pay for and the employees get what they are paid for. I work in the building business and everyone knows not to buy this product! Just throwing your money away. One good thing is if you like frozen beverages, this is the product to buy! Never again! Receipts in hand! Romney probably owns the stock! LOL

MDB7609AWB1 - I purchased this dishwasher about 14 months ago. Power on button will not light up. It seems this is a big problem with 100% of the Maytags and Im sure the Whirlpools. These cheap companies are having their products made in China to make bigger profits. The years of keeping your appliances for 10-15 is gone. Spend $650 and it doesnt even last 2 years before it breaks is totally ridiculous. Of course they wont fix it but they DO know about the problem. If enough people complain maybe consumers affairs will make them recall them. Send them letters, emails, flood their inbox, tell them youre pissed and will never buy a Maytag again. I hope they go out of business.

I purchased a Maytag refrigerator 4.3 years ago. Model #NSD2572VEW01 side-by-side. Came home to find water on floor. Called for service at a local company. Tried several new parts, only to find out I had a bad compressor. Part cost $358.30 + labor charge which couldnt be estimated because of difficulty with installation. Called Maytag for help, was told FIVE times, Sorry, nothing we can do to help you. Have never had any other appliance in my life except Maytag. NEVER had a problem with anything before. Have washer, dryer, fridge, stove, microwave, and dishwasher. Found the answer to be unacceptable!!!

Some difficulty in cleaning the range around the burners when spatters occur, no matter what you use it is very tight to get around the actual burner to remove that residue. I have tried many approaches and several types of cleaners to get the residue marks off the brushed stainless surface.
