The brackets that make the door open and close are just screwed Into the plastic lining with no kind of anchors. If you use the freezer a lot the screws come loose. Can’t close the door. And then 300 dollars later a service call. All to replace a screw. That’s just fine but the hole is stripped because no one could install a 50 cent anchor on installation at the factory. No more Maytag for me.

Please do not buy a Maytag washer top loader. It does not get enough water and it does not clean your clothes. It is the noisiest cheapest made machine out there. If you have kids you really need to bypass this one. I have had this for 10 months and its only me. Please especially if you have children stay away from it. Im the most unhappiest camper Maytag ever had.

I bought a Maytag washer 1 year and 1 month ago (MVWB835DW1), Hated this washer since day one. It does not wash clothes very well, does not even cover them fully with water. The mini agitator at the bottom does not move he close it just spins on the bottom of them. Now it started making a very high pitch squeal when it spins and of course it is one month past the manufacture warranty so I call a repairman and the first thing he says to me is Im sorry for your purchase, it was a bad one and it will cost me 600$ to repair because the bearing is bad. And my bad for not getting an extended warranty but I have never had a washing machine work this bad and break within the first 13 month of owning it??? Lesson learned I guess!

We bought this washer in 2009. It has only been 5 years and we had a problem with the lid, now it leaks on the floor and most of all it has been rusting on the lid, the sides and rusting around the bleach port. Rusting on the top edge of the outside metal skin. I am not happy with this product at all. The serial number CV0870202. Model number is MVWB800VQZ. It is a quiet series purchased on 2009. I am not happy with the quality of this washer and I will not buy another Maytag.

Maytag Centennial Washer - Bought washer because of brand name and was that a mistake! This is the Loudest, noisiest, banging clanking washing machine I have ever heard. Every time I do a load of laundry the washer moves a foot from the wall and I have to continually move it back. Needless to say I hover over it all the time when I do laundry. It isnt even 2 years old and we are going to go buy a new machine, AFTER looking at reviews!!!

I purchased a 2011 Bravos top loader washer machine. Doing a minimal amount of laundry for 2 persons, the Bravos is in disrepair needing bearings and an inner and outer tub. I was told to purchase a prepaid service call for $350 that will cover repairs plus a mere 1 year additional warranty. The washer sounds like a jet plane, gives off fouls odors, has black tar like residue after each wash and clothes never smell clean. Maytag has no complaint process, except an online chat that tells you to buy the prepay. Maytag has dumped a lemon on consumers and arrogantly expects us to pay for their garbage. They are disrespectful, dishonest and greedy and dont deserve anyones hard earned money for their ill made products.

We have had a Maytag dishwasher for just over a year. The control panel acts up randomly and has finally quit altogether. The design of the handle is very poor as it pulls the control panel away from the door. Will never buy a Maytag product again. This is a very clear design flaw and when we called Maytag they offered no help as we are passed the guarantee.

I just purchased this Maytag Commercial Technology Washer and Dryer on August 31st, 2018 and We hooked it up today Sept 4th 2018. I put a small load of towels in this machine and it said it would take an hour and thirty seven minutes to wash. I added my detergent and pressed all of the necessary buttons and started the load. the machine started spinning and testing and adjusting. I waited to hear the water start to come into the washer but nothing. I then checked my water lines thinking they are not on but they were. Through the smokey glass on the washing machine, I could see water dripping as if it is hooked up to a slow drip IV Machine.I am taking this thing back ASAP!!! First thing in the morning on Sept 5th 2018 I do not need to call Maytag Customer Service because they know it is a piece of junk, so I do not need to waste a moment with this crap on my property. I see Maytag does not believe in a QUALITY ASSURANCE DEPARTMENT because that department would put a stamp of approval on this Junk for distribution. No Washing machine should take more than 30 minutes (40 mins max) to wash no clothes. I will have to invest in an old school scrub board and rocks, then I can understand an hour and thirty minutes worth of wash time. I have set the timer on my phone when I started this load and My towels have been in the washer for an hour so far and I can still hear the slow IV DRIP OF WATER going. I just checked the machine and the digital reading is saying it has an hour and thirty three minutes to go. there is no water in the tub of this washing machine. The towels are wet from the IV drip and the machine is now pretending to agitate the dirty towels but it is only going in one direction. It is truly a sad state of affairs, your hard earned money gets you nothing but junk and a runaround.

I have been buying Maytag washer & dryers for 40 years. Have always been satisfied until now. The first 2 sets of washer & dryer were great. Very little ever went wrong. Now I have purchased another set approx. 3 years ago. As of today, I will be putting approx. $300.00 in repair to the washer. Repairman said it is a bad design. It is the second time for the same problem, which was repaired a year ago! I will not buy another Maytag product if they cannot be reliable. I should not have to pay $300.00 in repair for a 3 year old washing machine. I am very disappointed.

I purchased all new appliances and decided to go with Maytag. My Maytag Refrigerator model MFI2569VEM after 12 months, just after the warranty expired, started leaking all over my kitchen floor. I called Maytag and all they told me was there is no recall on this model and there was nothing they could tell me over the phone. I purchased an extended warranty and that is a whole other problem to get someone out. They said to check the freezer problem I need to call when the leak was occurring, so they could see what is happening. So basically, I need to leave water on my kitchen floor so they could see what is happening. Who hires these people?

I called Maytag Service, and they sent someone out to fix it. They expected me to take off from work where they inconvenience me with this washer. It is a reject washer. Water level is totally inaccurate, if you do get enough water in it, it will not spin clothes dry. This is the worst purchase I have bought in my entire life. This washing machine fails in every aspect period!! AND the matching dryer is a waste of space as well, clothes come out damp regardless of setting or time period. When I was younger, Maytag meant something, not anymore! I have searched to see if there are replacement sensors, or upgraded components to make these machines work properly, that I would even be willing to pay for myself and get them installed to make them functional, but NO they dont even offer that... we are just stuck with them. My water bill is higher and my electric bill is higher too! From these machines. I wouldnt even sell them used to another person. I wouldnt want them to inherit these problems, but as soon as I can save up enough money {being disabled} I will get these hauled off and buy a set of Speed Queen machines. My wife and I are so repeatedly disgusted!! I wish I had the receipt so I could post it for more proof.

I bought a full kitchen of Maytag appliances when I bought a new house in 2009. I thought it was a reliable company. Id always gone with GE before. I couldnt get the packing sticker off the oven after trying everything to remove it, so the oven bottom is virtually ruined. The timer on the oven dings once and stops; dinner burns if Im not right there to hear it. I was told by customer service thats the way it works, so I had to buy a separate timer. I am now replacing my 2 ½-year-old dishwasher because the control panel has once again stopped working. It cost me $275 to fix the first time and it lasted less than 3 months. I will never buy Maytag again! I got over 20 years of service from my GE appliances.

My oven smelled for weeks after being installed. The first time I self cleaned, the oven stopped working and the door remained locked. It took weeks to get it repaired because we needed a part that had to be ordered. The second time we self cleaned, the oven smoked, set off smoke alarm that had to be disconnected, the control panel bulged, and the door locked. It was Sunday. I wrote a nasty email to Maytag. The service man who came Monday could not unlock the door, and said he had to order a part and would return the next Tuesday if the part arrived.Next, I had warranty issues. I had to get a copy of the purchase receipt from Home Depot to prove that the oven was still in warranty. Out of the blue, my phone rings on Thursday and it was Joe ** from Maytag in Michigan. He had read my email, said he was sorry for all the problems, and if I did not mind waiting 2 to 3 weeks, he would send me a brand new oven, would have it installed, and would have the old oven sent back for inspection. I did not mind (although there is only so many things that can be grilled or you can bake in a toaster oven). Three weeks later, I have my newly-installed new oven with its new, year-long warranty. Thank you Mr. ** and Maytag for the great service.

Bought a Maytag refrigerator/freezer 18 months ago. The freezer went bad. The first repair guy said it needed a new computer board which wasnt covered. Called Maytag, they wanted another repair service to look at it. He said it needed a new evaporator. We have now spent $250 to be told the repair will cost another $500. Maytag will make a goodwill gesture because we are a nonprofit business to cover the part only so we will still be out another $300. This is unacceptable for a relatively new Maytag. Obviously they can no longer be counted on to back their equipment. Very disappointing.

My original GE dishwasher that came with our house finally crapped out after about 8 years of use in 2007. Bought a Maytag from Home Depot for around $400. Dont remember the model number. It worked okay but then in the middle of 2010 we got a letter in the mail saying our machine was being recalled because the heating element might catch fire (!!!). The recall gave us the option of getting it fixed or getting a $150 rebate. We chose the rebate option so we trashed this dishwasher and went back to Home Depot to buy another one.We found a very nice Maytag with the stainless steel tub and the racks with the lifetime warranty against corrosion (which was good because our previous Maytag had started to leave rust on our dishes because the plastic on the tips of the rack tines was starting to come off), model #MDBA979AWB1, serial #FY2501885. The one we found was a no-box display model but it had all the accessories with it and still had the factory warranty. We got it for just over $300 and with our rebate applied we were out the door for under $200 including tax. I installed it myself and didnt have any issues for quite some time. My wife and I were both very happy with how clean the dishes got! Now, last night the dishwasher wouldnt start. I checked it out this morning, made sure it had power and was able to get some lights on the control panel to light up but still couldnt get it to start. Looks like Ive been victimized by the control board as most of these complaints have said. I guess I should consider us lucky since ours seems to have lasted longer than the average 18 months to 2 years. Will be contacting Maytag and Home Depot to see what they can do but after reading all these negative reviews Im not hopeful.

I purchased a Maytag Top Loader Washer MVWX500XL last May 2011 from Home Depot to replaced our 15-year old GE washing machine. Two weeks ago, it started making horrible noise like a jet engine taking off during spin cycle. I called in the Maytag repairman and was told that the bearing is gone and it will cost $ 493.00 to repair it. He claims that the damage is caused by not using HE detergent exclusively and he refused to leave us a written estimate. We are only three adults in our household and we do our laundry once or twice a week. For this machine to be repaired only after 2 1/2 years of light service and for almost the same cost as a new one, I will never buy another Maytag/Whirlpool products ever again and I will encourage everyone the same.

We do not use the range daily. Our household consists of only two persons. First time we operated the self-cleaning feature on the oven the outer pane of the double glass pane door had what appeared to be grease stains and dirt. In as much as it is a SEALED double pane glass door there is no access to the outer pane to clean it. The double range was only 16 months old and was purchased at RC Willey in Henderson, NV. We also purchased ALL Maytag appliances for our kitchen i.e. refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, washer and dryer on the same date. In addition we purchased furniture for the entire house at RC Willey. The Service Department at RC Willey advised me to access the Whirlpool website for assistance or to call an independent service repair contractor at my expense. THANKS MAYTAG! After having had your laundry appliances for over 30 years, without any service problems whatsoever, I was lulled in a false sense of security over the quality of your appliances. Now I have a household full of Maytag appliances and am at the mercy of independent service repair contractors.

This Maytag dishwasher was purchased because Maytag has always been represented as a reliable brand. Wish I had done some research on this problem before repairing it! The control panel went bad after 18 months (and at least 6 months of this time it was not used at all!). The repair cost $300, the dishwasher only cost $429, and if I had realized how much this would cost I would have bought another dishwasher instead. Wonder how long this control panel will last? I called Maytag to complain and was told by Dana badge no. ** that there was nothing to be done as it was out of warranty. We have had dishwashers for 10+ years before that never gave us any trouble. I told her I wanted to speak to her supervisor and she told me she didnt have one! Really, how about if George Moore the CFO or Arthur Learmonth the President call me back on this one! We shall see what they say, but I can see by all the complaints about the same issue with Maytag dishwashers that we will probably be out of luck unless we start or join a class action lawsuit (looks like there is one in California already). I will amend this post if Maytag decides to stand by their product and at least pay for the cost of the control panel, but Im not holding my breath.

The washer drum fills up with very little water, very little. I can do an entire load of laundry and the stuff on top doesnt ever get wet. Went on Spring Break in Florida and a month later our clothes still smell like the beach. Grill out, and I smell steaks the next time I put on the shirt. Stain your clothes in any way, its there forever unless you hand wash it first. To get it to work at all, each time I have to start the wash cycle (I leave the soap out just to save it for the next start), let the drum fill with water, pause it, get all the clothes wet, then cancel the cycle. After it drains and the machine is off and full of wet clothes, then start it all over again adding soap this time. On the second try, set at deep cycle, it will add enough water to cover the clothes - Im guessing because it senses more clothes because the clothes are now wet from the first, cancelled cycle. During the wash cycle, Ill open the lid and robustly move everything around, almost hand washing. #Handy. The dryer is fine, Im keeping it. The washer, cant return it - been three months of this frustration (kept believing it was me, reset it multiple times, change the settings, tried everything). Im buying a new one and throwing this junk out. $700 lesson.

At 36 months old, my Maytag refrigerator has already suffered from a Freon leak. After repair, the leak continued causing the fridge not to produce ice. After another Freon charge 7 days later, the fridge will freeze ice only in a manual ice tray. The water in the ice maker for whatever reason will not freeze? To make matters even worse, the freezer fan has been noisy for the last year. Maytags solution is to purchase extended warranty for $300 plus or hire repair person at $100 for first hour. A 36 month old refrigerator is in essence a disposable item. Basically for a $700 fridge… that breaks down to about $20.00 per month service charge and then it’s time to replace!

One year ago I bought a Maytag Micro-wave and a Maytag dishwasher - big mistake. I should have done some homework. I had problems with the dishwasher since the day it was installed. I should have suspected something was wrong when it was delivered. I opened my front door and there stood a deliveryman holding my dishwasher in his arms. He said, Where do you want it? I couldnt believe he could be carrying it by himself, especially since it took three of us to move out the old Thermador which by the way was still working just fine after almost 30 years. But my wife insisted on a new washer for her new kitchen. The Thermador was actually made of steel. The new Maytag was made of plastic even the motor. It had some steel and copper parts but mostly plastic. I dont think it weighed forty pounds. The problems began the first day with leaks through the door and under it. I suppose eight or nine service calls happened in the next 3 months. The factory service men were different each time and each had their own guess as to what caused the leaks. Over time they replaced all the parts that could be leaking some of them twice, because subsequent servicemen discovered that a previous service man had installed the wrong parts. We often had to wait several weeks because replacement parts were not on hand, and would be ordered and shipped directly to us. Then we would have to schedule another service call, only to find out the wrong parts came - more delays. One service man told us we were using the wrong detergent, even though it was the detergent and spot-free rinse that came with it. Another service man removed the door cover so he could watch to see where it was leaking when it operated. He said the soap was foaming too much and flooding over, so we had to try another brand of soap, even though by now we had accumulated three other brands that were just barely used. The service men never did fix the problem. It took much experimentation from my wife to stop the leaks, which meant we could only use a fraction of the recommended amount soap. By now we were using so little soap that the dishes always came out dirty. So our choice was mop up a wet floor or have dirty dishes every time. Most of the time now we wash the dishes in the sink. One service man said in Maytags effort to make the dishwashers more efficient, and less expensive to build that the motor and pump were way under powered, and everything was made from petro-chemical by-products (cheap plastic) and that we should invest in the extended warranty. Its cheaper than paying service calls when the warranty runs out soon. What we should have done was exchanged it for another brand. My wife said had she only known, we would have never replaced the old Thermador which will be my next dishwasher. As for the micro-wave there are many things I dislike about it especially the rectangle glass tray which is extremely awkward to remove and replace each time you have to clean out crumbs and spills which happen often. The timer on/off bell is way too quiet with no volume control. The message and operation display is difficult to understand. And to top it off the cheap plastic handle broke one week after the warranty ran out which I found out that its less expensive to buy a whole new door than pay for parts and a service call to repair handle. Maytags track record made me not want to deal with service dept. again. I will probably be money ahead to trash the two appliances, start over and do some homework and maybe buy a European made appliance. I know German technology is not all about profit making, but quality, reliability, durability. I hate to sound un-American but greed in American corporations will be their downfall.

This is my THIRD dishwasher, and by far the best. The Bosch machine I had before that was a catastrophe: mediocre cleaning, intense filter cleaning required - at least every two days - and, with a pretended noise level of 47 dB, MUCH noisier than the 50 dB announced by Maytag. Somebody is laughing at someone! To sum up: the Maytag MDB4949SHZ cleans dishes incredibly well, is very silent and requires no filter cleaning.

3 months after we purchased our Maytag dishwasher in Jan 2014 (Sears) it broke. The service person told us that the ELECTRONIC CONTROL PANEL (START, CANCEL, WASH CYCLE SELECTIONS) was a common breakage issue and fixed it. It broke again around one year from our purchase date. Same issue, but kept working and not working. Finally we contacted Maytags customer service. Although courteous the only thing we were offered for this common Maytag issue was a $249.95 one year warranty for them to come and fix this recurring problem. I explained that we had already spent about $870 (including tax, delivery and installation) for our middle of the line dishwasher one and a half years ago and asked if they would consider either charging us for a smaller service call/repair or just do it because it seems to be a design and manufacturing issue. After one hour and no sympathy I had to pay the $249.95 to get a repair person out and be covered for one year from today. I dont trust the cheap quality and the lack of support for the product. THEY ARE OUT THERE TO SELL MORE INSURANCE AND CUSTOMER SERVICE DOESNT MATTER!

This machine that I bought 2 1/2 years ago is very loud. Sounds like a helicopter that is going to hit the house. Last week the machine did not empty and would not spin. What a mess. We had to take the clothes out and try to wring them out by hand. Then we had to scoop all the water out. Had to call a repairman to fix it. $187 which included two trips to the house and a new pump. The pump was $56. Just the last year my grandson came to live with us, but before that there were just two of us in the house to do laundry for.

We purchased a MDB8949SAW dishwasher in 2013. 1 month after the warranty expired the touch buttons went on it. If you selected normal it would opt for something else like rinse only. We researched online and my husband followed instruction online to take the door off and seal the moisture to prevent this from happening. This worked for about 2 months and now back to the same thing. We paid $500 for this and just living with the problem for now. All we can do is warn others.

We called the number and it took days to get someone to look at it and not fix it. It needed a new part. Its been over a week now and we havent heard anything, and still no working dishwasher. Our last two dishwashers lasted over 18 years. Kenmore and Whirlpool, never had any issues. This is our first Maytag. Service has been snail pace slow. Bought this (Maytag Washer MVWB955FC1) on 1/8/18, was delivered late in January as it was on back-order. On 4/30/18, during a cycle, the washer made a pop sound. There was glass everywhere. The glass had shattered and exploded onto the floor and washer. The glass is on the inside of the drum and all over the clothes. Contacted Maytag and they sent out a repairman the next day. Repair said there is a point of impact indicated I dropped something on it. NOTHING was dropped on it. There is a point of impact, from the inside. The glass is pushed up and out indicating pressure from INSIDE the washer.Repairman says its not covered under warranty and that I had to pay for his time as well. He also said there are no known issues with this lid and washer. The lid is out of stock and wont be available for a while. I called Maytag and they gave me the same response, never heard of this.. and lid is out of stock. I found SEVERAL reviews/complaints in which, for the exact same model, this has happened to other people. This glass lid is dangerous and poses a serious safety risk to households that contain it. If they replace the lid, there is no guarantee this will not happen again. A child could walk by the washer and at any moment the glass lid could explode, send tiny shards of glass everywhere. I want a refund for this dangerous washer.

I went to Home Depot in Kennesaw, Ga to purchase new W&D combo. I had found what I wanted but when the sales went to complete my order, the units I selected werent available. She talked me into the Maytag Bravo, but I specifically stated I needed a large tub because I wash a lot of towels and sheets. Well this expensive piece of shhh, doesnt even get all the items wet. Ive had to lift the lift and physically flip items in tub, especially with towels and sheets. Also, the washer is loud, did I say loud, I mean freaking loud. The dryer is fine, but I bought combo for a reason... Pricetag $1200.00 with my discount. I waited a week for delivery, I am mad as hell. Whats point of having large tub, when you barely get enough water. Luckily I found out now, so I can have them pick this CRAP UP, Do not buy. Bought our washer dryer set from Sears in the fall of 2010. I had reservations from the start as the machines were new and the salesman was really pushing this set (on sale), with all the customers, even offering extra discounts on these models only, if customers bought that day. Apparently, they had overstock and were trying to sell them all ASAP. That was a warning to me but my husband convinced me that I was being overly suspicious. We had previously owned Maytag machines for 20 years and loved them. So I agreed. Well, I have been cursing that decision ever since. You have to hand wash/prescrub any stain on clothing, even a little make-up like blush or a little mud. Then you have to put up with an inflexible system that wont allow you manual options regarding spins and temperature or times, etc. Its all programmed. Then you put up with clanging spin cycle as it bangs against the wall. Then you pull out very wrinkled and not always cleaned clothes only to begin the most frustrating dryer experience ever. It has a mind of its own. It can actually keep spinning as it keeps adding dry time and the clothes never dry! God help you if you have a regular load. All your clothes will get stuck on the little ledge. They stay there in a heap as the machine spins and spins. The solution? You have to add a bunch of dry towels to create a lot of mass so that it keeps your laundry from getting stuck on the side. Then you have to repeat this several times cause it doesnt dry well. I will never ever shop at Sears and I will never buy Whirlpool or Maytag again. I am now saving to buy another set.

I purchased the Maytag refrigerator MFF2055DRM on 7/7/16 new. It was suppose to be stainless steel; but now I am seeing rust spots at the top and bottom of the French doors. I clean my refrigeration weekly and find it odd that now it is rusting. Also, I am able to place magnets on the doors - which should not be for stainless steel. In addition, I spend over $100 a year replacing the mandatory filters. I must also place the setting to high to maintain my milk and juices. I must also have to place them in the very back of the refrigeration. I am a single senior and my refrigeration is not overloaded with food; nor am I constantly in and out of the refridge. I have been washing clothes in different washers for almost 4 decades and never had a terrible washer until now. It has total control of the water level and it NEVER has enough water added. I have to add at least 2 full dish pans of water to every load. My washer does not allow you to pick your level because it does it automatically and no theres way to bypass this problem. It moans and groans for almost an hour in slow motion at its best. It should be illegal to sell such crap!If the intent was to save energy it fails when it runs twice as long as other washers. The instructions that are in the lid say that when you set it on deep water wash that it does not sense automatically-LIES! This lid must be generically made for other washers that they have because again, you cannot choose a water level. When a washer runs for almost an hour (this is not soak or extra rinse either) it is not saving energy over those that run for half that length of time. I wish I had returned it, but I listen to others who say that this is how washers are now. I still owe 150.00 on it and hate writing that check.

Two years ago I purchased a Maytag commercial technology top-load washer. It only two options for water level, either deep water or Auto sensor. Because I live alone I have very small amounts of clothing to wash at a time. Therefore I was excited about the auto sense to save water. However when using the auto sensor theres such a small amount of water in the drum it does not cover the clothes being washed and often I have items of clothing come out of the wash cycle and rinse cycle with dry spots on them yet. The clothes dont get clean and begin to smell stale shortly after theyve been washed. I contacted the business from which I purchased the machine and they were not able nor willing to do anything about my dissatisfaction. This is the worst Appliance I have ever purchased in my 64 years hows life. I hate this washer. It is totally ineffective. And now Im stuck with it and dirty clothes.

Cant even believe how terrible this combo washer and dryer is! Now I get to wash everything in this piece of ____ twice, thank you Maytag! Just took out a load and it is dingy and stinks, so now its wet, on the floor waiting its turn to go back for another wash (possibly even a third). If you want clean clothes, do NOT get this washer. Dryer has issues also. For whatever reason, the AF signal has been on for a couple of months. Turn it off and back on and its okay for a bit, then back on. Its the Air Filter. Its not plugged, so I dont know, I just keep using it with intervals of resetting it altogether. What a total waste of money. Am going to give it away for free as soon as I find a replacement! Save yourself a huge headache and look elsewhere than Maytag. Oh, and if Maytag happens to read my review, you can contact me for a refund any time, just respond to this post, you can even come pick it up and get it out of my home. Thanks a bunch!

I purchased this machine 6 months ago - have called 2 repair people. Thank God I purchased at Sears with extended warranty, was just replaced. I would tell you if you are looking for a machine run away from this one. It tears clothes, have to wash everything on bulk wash or I would not get enough water to say how bad this washer is. If someone called me and said I won this washer, I would say no thank you. And if I had to say Maytag repair called them, said she not getting enough water. Now this is what they told him: thats how we designed it. Forget about big drum, you cant put blankets or any larger items, goes off balance. And I have to say, if I had the money, I would put to the road and go back to wringer type. So again, do not make my mistake. Do not buy this washer and let me say the second day I made a complaint, was told it take time to get adjusted...NOT. I give this washer a 0.

So far after 5 calls and over two hours spent on calls IMPOSSIBLE to get an answer from Maytag about the correct fill levels of detergent. Consumer support simply do not know and refuse to direct me to anyone or have anyone call that does know answer. WHY SO IMPORTANT? Either you do not get clothes clean OR you damage machine and leave residue on clothes! Neither is acceptable. Using the fill level indicator on Bravos XL dispenser is in direct contradiction to any recommended levels on lids of high efficiency detergent manufacturers like Tide. Per Maytag manual only fill detergent to max fill LINE which is literally about two or three tablespoons of detergent. The lowest possible quantity of Tide per the lines on lid even for smallest load is two or three times the recommended fill level on the dispenser. No one has to be an engineer to know two tablespoons of HE detergent in dispense is going to do same effective cleaning for one shirt or towel as it will with a queen size comforter or very large full capacity load. CORRECT ANSWER DETERMINES IF YOU DAMAGE WASHER OR IF YOU HAVE DIRTY CLOTHES. Googling online there is also no answer. Such a critical answer for Maytag washer to work and clean clothes that is simply not available and documentation is wrong is a huge concern about the viability of this machine and worse their support. Our machine is less than two months old but is obviously over-engineered to the point of just being silly. Tip to Maytag: start selling washboards. More energy efficient, more green except for red and blue bruised knuckles, uses one tenth as much water and users do not need to spend their nest egg savings to buy. Not the first but will be the last Maytag product we will buy. Name may be same but the company is definitely not the company that used to enjoy that name with pride. SUMMARY: Maytag is adamant about using the correct amount of HE detergent OR damage and bad performance by washer and dirty clothes with a detergent residue. With all our best efforts we cannot get what that quantity of detergents is supposed to be. The user manual at best has ambiguous answer. The manual suggest horizontal measure of detergent in tray to max fill level which cannot be right. IF you instead use a vertical measure of how high detergent level comes up to the max fill line the quantity is radically different. It says dispenser holds 3 oz which would be beyond max fill level but nowhere near a vertical fill level.

Suspension is coal springs that suspends the load so if you fill it up, it lowers the drum to the floor, instead of a bottom bracket that supports the weight from lowering the drum to the floor! Second is the pulley system with the belt drive that wears through the plastic casing. Thinking that the Neptune fiasco was over, I happily bought into the sick company and got burnt 3 times for all 3 purchases. The Gemini range with dual ovens: the controller clock with all relays and electronic package is dying, leaving me with no ovens, or slow heating and an alarm in the middle of the night. Now, even the burners are not working properly. Junk at any price, and I paid $2,400. Not 5 years old and repaired several times under warranty; all were electrical failures. The fridge is another failure. Apparently the Freon is leaking out. It is unrepairable and it was typical of these from what the service guy said, not 5 years old. It was repaired once, leaking on floor. Apparently, it was a kinked drain hose. The dishwasher was one year old and it caught fire when the dial was turned while the machine was running. The 4th machine, an over the range microwave, is still running… although from day one it sucks so much power on the dedicated line that it dims the lights in the microwave as it starts up and each time, the magnetron energizes. I am just waiting for it to fail too. Can you say never and mean it? There was no goodwill offered. “So sad” and “too bad” is the common line. Nothing will last more than 5 years if you listen to sales people at Maytag - junk. There was no help from the corporate office. Nothing I can do for you. Junk, junk, junk.

Purchased the Maytag Bravo Nov 2010 and had to replace it after just 5 years. In the five years we owned it, it required a new water pump and the stabilizers had to be repaired. Its motor burned up and I was not able to find a replacement. I was quoted $224 (parts only) for a replacement motor and 10 weeks delivery. My wife never liked the machine as it was not able to clean clothes that well. We did not find much difference in any of the settings. We tended to put very few clothes in each load in order to get them clean. We were dissatisfied that it did not have a soak cycle and the lid lock was particularly annoying.

I have to pour a bit of water on the clothes so the sensor thinks it’s a heavy load and do an extra rinse. And I saw that on a video regarding this washer trick. But I’m wasting more water cause I have to rearrange the clothes when done. I put the top ones on the bottom and start over. To me it’s a waste of effort sometimes I just go to the laundromat. Bought new Maytag French Door with cooling drawer refrigerator in July, & have had nothing but problems with both product & customer service since. Have already had 2 service calls for the SAME problem. The in-door ice maker/dispenser is a horrendous mess. Place a container below the opening to get ice cubes & ice is sprayed in chunks all over the floor & around the kitchen. To get ice, you have to put the container in direct contact with the opening, & then place a towel over the entire in-door unit to keep ice chunks from spraying all over the floor. The unit has a small flap-door in the ice maker, which must open & close automatically when getting ice, but the flap failed to close, so the ice in the ice maker was melting & the water running into the refrigerator unit & onto the floor. Called warranty repair & they came out & said they fixed the door-flap, but they did not. Ice was still melting & the freezer unit would not even keep ice cream & pastry items frozen solid. Called repair a 2nd time during the first 4 months of ownership, & they came out & replaced the motor to the small door-flap in the in-door ice/water unit. When asked why the freezer would not keep ice cream & pastry items frozen solid, the repairman stated (quote): Freezers dont keep ice cream frozen solid because it has so much sugar in it, its like alcohol. Had no excuse about the pastry issue however. We replaced a 12-year-old Jenn-Air with this piece of junk, but at least the Jenn-Air kept ice & ice cream frozen solid, & the ice maker did not leak & spray ice around the kitchen. Jenn-Air must know something about freezing sugary ice cream, that Maytag/Whirlpool do not understand. Then today we got a notice that Whirlpool had denied payment for the 1st repair visit, even though the unit was only 2 months old then. As such, we expect them to deny payment for this 2nd visit, even though the unit is now only 4 months old. Bad product & sloppy customer service, from a company with ZERO consumer support.

I have the Maytag Bravos washer and dryer. The machine has broken several times every year, and every year, Maytag makes me feel like it is my fault. They built a machine, and they do not stand behind it. And I cannot get a local machinist to work on it. I have asked Maytag to replace it from the start, and they refused, telling me its out of warranty. The only thing out of warranty is the frame--all parts are new. Here is the history:On 1/04/2008, I purchased it from Home Depot, and it cost $815. Then in 4/2009, there was an F51 code, and Maytag replaced the mother board after long hold times and much pleading to help me. They said they could do nothing, because it was out of warranty. It took manager to manager to manager to get the agreement to extend the warranty. (I then found that this was a regular Maytag issue.)From 9/2010 to 10/2010, an ld code occurred. The approved Maytag scheduled service had to come out 4 different times to attempt to fix the issue. One time, they said it was broken wires for the drain pump. The next, it was off balance; and the next, it was a sensor. Then the next time, they replaced the mother board again, and again after much argument that the part was less than a year old. Each time, they get more and more difficult to deal with and made me feel more and more like I am asking them for something unreasonable. The service guys said the washer was like new.... All new parts and I would never have a problem again. It cost $80 after argument, and Maytag covered the parts.Last 2/2011, problems include a fast spin, ld code, and off balance; and it stopped working. It needed new suspension rods which cost $250. Maytag paid nothing. Then in 8/2011, ld code started again, and I would have to turn off to drain and then restart to spin. Maytag called in a service call, and they never showed up. Every time, they said they read over my file and that theres nothing they can do to help me. And no one else for me to speak to.In 10/2011, the ld code came on permanently. The Maytag call I made this time again said there was nothing they could do to help me.I am so frustrated; I dont know what to do next. I threw away an older set working washer and dryer, thinking I made a great decision to upgrade to this new set. Now my family of 5 cannot wash our clothes. No one will work on the washers locally, and Maytag treats me like Im complaining for nothing and I should just spend endless dollars to fix this machine. And Im at a loss. I had to get a part for the dryer the other day, and the parts store person told me that this washer is one of Maytags mistakes. if that is so, why wont they help me?

I purchased a french door Maytag refrigerator in Dec. 2009. We have never had decent ice. Icemaker is in the door and the seal does not keep the ice cavity cold enough. After many, many service calls and a replacement refrigerator, I was told to dump the ice twice a week and get ice out of the dispenser all day long. Really? All day long? It is model #bmft2771web1. They will not take care of this problem. It is a defect but they will not take responsibility for it. I now have a problem with my Maytag double oven! The temp on the bottom oven is 25 to 50 degrees off. I am waiting for my dishwasher and microwave to be next. I will never buy another Maytag. Buyer beware. I have to buy my ice from 7-Eleven. Thats why I bought a $ 2,100 refrigerator, so I can get my ice elsewhere!

We inherited this Maytag (Model MGR7662WW) when we bought our house this year. I love this unit. It cooks accurately, its easy to clean and its just rock solid in its performance. I never worry that the cook times are going to be off either. The oven racks are solid and the overall look is nice. Our friends and family love the center grill as much as we do. If I need to pull something off the burner I dont worry that Ill scratch the stove top with this feature. The oven heat is also pretty contained. Our old oven radiated lots of heat through the top. This one doesnt and thats a huge plus. The only reason Im not giving it 5 stars is that the grills are cracking (not the center one). However, I have no way of knowing if the original buyer damaged them or if its a defect in materials. They still work fine but I will need to replace them at some point. Given the cost of replacing them Ill wait as long as I can.

Now it has a foul odor coming from it and it doesnt get the dishes clean. The heating coil has stopped working and is rusting. This dishwasher is junk and Im very disappointed. I will never buy Maytag again nor any company related to them.

Purchased Maytag Washing Machine from Lowes in Alexandria Louisiana on January 12, 2021. Today is April 16, 2021 and it will no longer wash clothes and has horrible burnt smell coming from it when on wash cycle!!! Tried contacting Maytag Service but was kept on hold for almost 1 hour. I setup a service tech using the Maytag Service online and supposedly a technician will be here on Monday April 19, 2021....of which I seriously doubt will even show up based on some other reviews.Maytag as well as Lowes are SCAMMING people out of hard earned money by selling such garbage!! If LOWES or Maytag really cared about its customers it would see these Negative Reviews and do something about it. Lowes continues to sell this garbage which is why I am blaming them as well! DO NOT DEAL WITH LOWES OR MAYTAG PRODUCTS - YOU WILL REGRET IT!!!!

I purchased my which I thought was a stainless steel French door refrigerator in 2011 that I was getting a great product. Not even 3 months later I was using my warranty to stop the leak from my freezer now. Mind you, I paid $1500 so I got it fixed. 3 months later I called for repair again... Getting annoyed because this time the freezer came off track. 6 months later were chopping ice chunks up to stop the leaking on the floor. This lasted until last October keeping towels and old clothes around the fridge to soak up the water. This is so embarrassing especially if you have company over. You have a pile of crap soaking up water. I am a wife and mother of 7 children. I cant afford to just go buy another fridge. This isnt fair... I spent hard earned money on that magnet attracting stainless steel fridge and Maytag could care less. Im so disappointed and broke. Now I have to scrap it.

Purchased French Door MF12269VM 22 inch from The Brick furniture April 1, 2
Purchased French Door MF12269VM 22 inch from The Brick furniture April 1, 2012. Turned out to be a real April fools joke. Purchased extended warranty with TransGlobal for 5 years. First, fridge delivered after about a couple of weeks because it actually wasnt in stock. Naughty Brick lied about availability. Fridge arrives and after a service call from Maytag repair, they ascertain compressor doesnt work.Order fridge number 2. Two weeks later, get second fridge but lever for dispensing water is broken off. Order fridge number 3. Usual two-week wait and fridge finally arrives but the whole side panel is damaged. Send it back and order Fridge number 4. Service from Brick, Maytag and Whirlpool, terrible customer relations. Misrepresented delivery dates, supply issues, and operational damages.Fridge finally installed. Ice maker operates intermittently for the next year. Service techs from TransGlobal offer a variety of suggestions including changing filter, water pressure issues. Finally ice maker stops entirely in Summer of 2013. Is replaced after a month of waiting for parts of which the wrong part was sent. Ice maker continued to operate intermittently. Sometimes just a small of ice or no ice for a day. Finally in May after another service call, ice maker stopped working for about 4 days. Tech comes out and miraculously, it starts working again. A month later stops again and hasnt worked since.Contacted TransGlobal off shore call centre? And arranged to have an assessment to see if we needed a new fridge. Request declined and Maytag (Whirlpool) sent a tech out after another week. Service tech recommended new freezer. Waited a week for parts and arranged for Service tech to replace ice maker. Wrong ice maker part (for the second time) in less than a year. The latest trick from our possessed fridge is recent alarms from the temperature control. To say we are disappointed in this product, the retail experience, the quality of the manufacturing, the shipping procedures, the poor engineering and design, doesnt come close to describing the shoddiness surrounding this appliance and the service weve received. In conclusion, we are still awaiting an ice maker and are contemplating buying another fridge. What it is fair to say, we will never ever buy another appliance with their the Whirlpool or Maytag attached to it. Nor will we ever again buy anything from the Brick, or depend upon TransGlobal for repair services. Are there other Manufacturers and retailers out there who understand the meaning of service and quality. I certainly hope so. Otherwise Im going to invest in a good icebox.

We purchased a Maytag Bravos Washer and companion dryer in March 2018. I like to wash our king size bedding often and liked that this model had no agitator and could accompany the large loads. I am using the extra rinse constantly since I dont trust the amount of water (not) used. The dryer however, is worthless! No matter the garment or setting, everything comes out in a ball. Tshirts are twisted and wrinkled and half wet. I end up rewashing almost everything then being a guardian for the dryer---checking and rechecking every load. Maytag says sorry, its out of warranty. I absolutely hate these appliances!

Unbeknownst to us, our Maytag Refrigerators (MFD2561KES) ice maker developed a problem with the fill hose which connects to the back of the refrigerator, causing it to pop off. The hose had been leaking water onto our wood floor causing all of the boards under the refrigerator and 6 feet in front to buckle. I cannot see why Maytag did not use a compression fitting instead of using a squeeze type hose clamp. Plus the ice maker has left a large sheet inside the freezer on the bottom. I use the ice maker daily to fill my cooler for work.We also have a Maytag Dishwasher which has a push button panel in front which has decided to give out as well. Not to mention our Maytag Double Oven which has never been able to close properly since we have had it. (The service man said that there is nothing wrong with it). We bought our house 7 years ago and my wife wanted nothing but Maytag because of our experience in the past. I gave up buying american automobiles years ago and I guess the same will happen when I replace these appliances (after I finish paying for my new floor).

Pretty much the same complaint as Ive read about the Maytag dishwasher control panel issue. I purchased ours in Nov. 2009, issues began in April 2011, and service call for $129 where the technician said it needs a replacement control panel. I spent another $130 for the part and warranty on this specific part. In December 2011, issues occurred again. I ordered a new control panel in January and was told 3-5 days, called after 10 days and was told it was on backorder and should be shipped sometime in March. Youd think the Maytag President would be embarrassed for producing a product like this that in my eyes has tarnished what was a reputable household brand. Not that it will do any good but I will mail a letter to the President. One positive, our kids are learning to wash dishes the way I did as a kid, by hand. I sure hope the new control panel we hope arrives in March fixes this problem for good.

I had a problem with my 1 year old oven. I scheduled an appointment and no one showed up. So I fixed it myself. A week later they called to schedule an appointment and I told them that they were scheduled for last week. So their response was OK, I dont need them anymore - goodbye. The parts are under warranty so I send them the part I replaced myself and the invoice for the cost. I didnt get a response. So 3 months later I send a second letter. Three more months and still no response. I can remember when Maytag had commercials showing their repair sleeping because they had no work to do. Now, their products are failing and their entire service depart is asleep.

Maytag washer Purchased December 2016. Washer is very slow: runs 1 hour plus. Wash takes a VERY long time. Small load only. Heavy loads go to Laundromat. Maytag does not clean clothes, always MUSTY smelling. Cycle OFTEN does not drain tub And forced to use Drain, Spin cycle to drain tub. Wrinkle cycle ties clothes in knots. Using AFRESH to clean tub makes no difference in foul odor. One service call, error codes found, computer reset. Repairman said that the MACHINE WORKS AS DESIGNED. Repairman said that any tiny bit of debris can cause washer to clog and fail to drain. At best clothes always wet, slow to dry. My old Whirlpool washed any sized load. Clothes always clean and fresh. I used laundry only when we had power outage. LIKELY WILL PUT THIS ON THE CURB. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS MACHINE.

My refrigerator outer case has felt very warm to the touch at the section between the top freezer door and the lower refrigerator door for several years. I thought this was a normal function of the defrost mode. It is now very hot to the touch so that I cannot touch it for more than a few seconds. I dont know how long it has been like this. This cannot be normal. I did some online checks and found that there was a Consumer Product Safety Commission Recall release #09-145 and 09-322 that warns about the same problem I am having. My model # (MTB215) matches the recall, however, the last two characters in my serial # is WQ does not. This problem appears to be very consistent with the problem in the recall releases.

We purchased the Maytag Atlantis used (4 years old); it looked like new. When I opened the lid, I noticed a terrible smell like some left the clothes in the washer for days. I used white vinegar, baking soda, bleach, anything to try and get rid of the smell. Nothing worked. Finally, my husband took out the agitator and then the drum. Inside and around the drum was lint from all the years of washing clothes. He scraped it all off and bleached it and put it back together and it was okay for a while. It now smells again and I am afraid we will have to keep doing this or our clothes will always smell. I also leave the lid open after a wash so Im not attacked by the smell when we open it. I also had the Maytag Neptune front loader years ago, and the water pooled by the gasket on the door. That smelled too! We will be redoing our laundry area soon and will be shopping for a new washer and dryer. It will not be a Maytag!

I purchased a Maytag Gemini April 22 2017 and I am very unhappy with it. The ovens are not working properly. I have thrown away so much food because the ovens won’t hold temperature. The display says it’s the temp. I set it but the temp keeps dropping and rising causing the bottom and top to burn and inside not to cook. Both ovens are doing it. Had a repairman come day before Christmas. He said there is nothing wrong. He said set temp, when preheat beep goes off wait 15 minutes for it to cycle then insert food. I tried this Christmas Day. Oven is still not working and again I threw away more food. I am so disappointed in Maytag. Serviceman is set up again to come out next week. I think I got a lemon. Please. I think they should replace the whole range. It’s not fair. I paid so much for this range and can’t use it.

I purchased the Maytag Bravo Series in August 2010. Two weeks ago, I had to replace the idler pulley on the dryer which was no easy task. Now today I was washing a load of clothes only to walk into my utility room and find it flooded. This didnt even start out as a small leak so at least you would have a warning. On the spin cycle, the washer is making a clanging sound. These were not cheap models. I paid $1600 for the set. I will never buy another Maytag product especially after reading all the complaints that people have had about this series. Why hasnt something been done to protect the consumer? I did not purchase the extended warranty as I thought Maytag sold a good product. I owned another set of Maytags that were almost 30 years old when we got rid of them and did minimal repairs over the years. We are only a household of 3. It is not like these appliances are overloaded or abused. Its very disheartening. In this economy, most dont have money to just throw away and that is what I feel like I did!

And they refused to do anything about it every time (bad management). They have already spent more money on service than what I paid for the refrigerator. Figure that out.Do not buy Maytag. On February 2006, I purchased a Maytag Quiet Series 300 Dishwasher and on July 2007, a motor leak. Maytag fixed it for free even though it was out of warranty. Thereafter (December 2008), the touch pad failed and I replaced it for $50. It is now August 2011, and that new touch pad is bad again, and this time, the part is $170. The Maytag will not run and the lighted display will not function from the start button. This was a $450 dishwasher that is now only five years old and useless. In all fairness to Maytag, their customer service is very good and willing to work with customers. Unfortunately, the product is very inferior in my opinion. To have stupid stuff like a control touch pad failing every three years is absurd and the replacement cost makes fixing it a bad investment.I will be going out this weekend and buying a brand-new inexpensive dishwasher that is on sale for $229. This model is not a Whirlpool product but it is a name brand.

Other than the noise, the dispenser has worked fine. Aug. 2005, the freezer frosted up and the tech replaced the defrost timer and defrost thermostat. May 2010, I had the same problem again and again these two parts were replaced. This morning, I found the food thawing in the freezer, 3 1/2 yrs since last repair. It is Sunday so will have to call tech tomorrow. Third repair in 13 years for a $1500 (2000 year dollars) Maytag. I have never had an appliance with so many problems and it was the most money I ever spent on an appliance. I am done buying Maytag products.
