This machine (Top-Loading High Efficiency MVWB755DWO) does not clean, it only leaves soap and moldy residue on clothes. The Whirlpool company refuses to assist even though it was delivered less than a year ago. So much for warranties! Wrinkles clothes, wrings incorrectly and does not give you freedom to manage independent of technological controls.

Control panel is defective on my Maytag dishwasher. Found a phone number that was created to deal with this problem. I only had to hold for a few minutes but the first person I spoke to was rude and unhelpful so I asked to speak to someone else. When another agent came on the line I told her that only the normal and rinse button light up but do nothing when pressed. She arranged for a repairman to come to my house and determine if my control panel is defective at their cost. When he arrived he asked me what the problem was and I said, The touch pad control panel is not working. He stated, Your control panel needs to be replaced. I have to order the part and come back to fix it. He was there for about five minutes and he never laid a finger on the dishwasher. When I asked if the control panel design has been fixed he said, No, you will probably have to replace it again. There is a video on the internet that shows how to seal the electronics with silicone. The repairman said that they cannot seal the electronics unless Whirlpool provides a kit to do it. I guess the Maytag repairmen may have to come out of retirement. My husband will seal ours after it is replaced so we hopefully dont have to deal with this problem again. So now I am waiting to see if he returns in a reasonable time frame and gets my dishwasher going. There is a class action suit about this issue filed in 2013 about this defect.Updated on 09/23/2015: A repairman came to my home on August 20, 2015, at Whirlpools cost, and he determined my touch pad did not work. He informed me that Maytag would provide the part, free of charge, but it would cost me 85.00 for them to come back and install it in 2-3 days. As of today I am still waiting for the part to come in, apparently due to high demand Maytag was out of touch pads, which were out of stock. No idea of when that would be, the repairmans company said, dont call us, we will call you when the part arrives. So I began to look for the part myself, found a couple on an auction site, but most companies that sold parts were on backorder. Until I found a company that said their inventory was out of stock but they had five, stashed in the back. The price of 105.00 was not that much more than the 85.00 cost for the service call. Got it in two (2) days, installed (in about five minutes), sealed by my husband and I loaded it and washed my dishes. I was so overcome with relief, tears came to my eyes and I almost fell out. I give five star to the fella that had the part stashed until I needed it.The Maytag repairman is still waiting for the part so he can fix my dishwasher.

DO NOT BUY MAYTAG REFRIGERATOR. I purchased a Maytag refrigerator 3 years ago, now it started to leak water on the floor. Repairman said this happens after about 3 years to all Maytag refrigerators because the water hose is too small and gets plugged which causes water to flow into bottom of freezer; 2 inches of ice on bottom of freezer. Now we have to remove everything from freezer and refrigerator, unplug for 2 days to melt ice so we lose all of our food in freezer and refrigerator.

Thinking that the Neptune fiasco was over, I happily bought into the sick company and got burnt 3 times for all 3 purchases. The Gemini range with dual ovens: the controller clock with all relays and electronic package is dying, leaving me with no ovens, or slow heating and an alarm in the middle of the night. Now, even the burners are not working properly. Junk at any price, and I paid $2,400. Not 5 years old and repaired several times under warranty; all were electrical failures. The fridge is another failure. Apparently the Freon is leaking out. It is unrepairable and it was typical of these from what the service guy said, not 5 years old. It was repaired once, leaking on floor. Apparently, it was a kinked drain hose. The dishwasher was one year old and it caught fire when the dial was turned while the machine was running. The 4th machine, an over the range microwave, is still running… although from day one it sucks so much power on the dedicated line that it dims the lights in the microwave as it starts up and each time, the magnetron energizes. I am just waiting for it to fail too. Can you say never and mean it? There was no goodwill offered. “So sad” and “too bad” is the common line. Nothing will last more than 5 years if you listen to sales people at Maytag - junk. There was no help from the corporate office. Nothing I can do for you. Junk, junk, junk.

I had no issues with my washer. The best thing I ever did was stop using Sabrina softener in it and made the switch to vinegar. The worst thing I ever did was think that paying $900+ for a nice washer would get me more than a year! What a joke! I started noticing small leaks when my hardwood floors started lifting and once my husband looked into this, we realized there is no seal around the top of the drum. So there is no barrier between the drum and your floors basically. Then one day we had a flood. As we watched the cycle run, we noticed that when the water was filling into the bleach and fabric softener compartments it was coming in at such a high rate, it was spilling over the sides down to the floor. So we went to the internet and found a few complaints about this, but no answers. Thankfully we found one guy who had the exact same problem and even had pictures that matched ours. Luckily a real appliance tech answered him and he couldnt even figure it out but took a guess at what I might be: the water inlet valve. But that was just a guess. So we called around to find the part and talked with a few sales persons. One was so nice to even ask a technician standing in line. And he said that there was no way this could be it. But then we decided to take a gamble. We also noticed that both compartments were filling up at the same time, but the bleach should fill during the wash cycle and the fabric softener during the rinse cycle. So it was either the $104 water inlet valve. Or the $200+ circuit board. These are my options after already spending $900+.. So we went with the valve and thank goodness it worked!!!! It is so disappointing that after a short time, this washer broke and cause more damage to my floors. It is an awful design. I bought myself the nicest front loaders for my first house. When that broke 7 years later, I bought this washer because I liked the no agitator design without the smell of a front loader. Now when this one breaks again, Im not buying another HE machine. The majority of people I talked with today said that these HE machines are breaking down faster and faster as the get better and better. I am so beyond disappointed, angry and in shock that this washer failed in less than a year and a half time. My hope is that this review will give the answers we couldnt find without paying an arm and a leg. Is this what passes for quality these days???

Hello, I bought the above top load Maytag washer last summer and shortly after purchase the spin cycle was accompanied by a load grinding noise. This became progressively worse per use and I contacted Maytag Canada. The experience calling is a challenge with often busy, and at times long waits. When I did get through on the line they were very good customer-service-wise and arranged for a local accredited company to attend my home and assess the problem. Service visit number one resulted in the lack of parts to fix, so I waited two weeks for the next visit with appropriate parts. Washer began to grind again, I called Maytag, another appointment was set, service call #2 again resulted in the SAME parts being replaced as service #1, and upon departure the washer immediately resumed grinding. Call #3 to Maytag and a 4th visit was scheduled to my home. This time with a different service provider, parts changed washer not fixed. Maytag called and this time I asked for replacement. Three weeks later I received a new washer. The version was updated so the drain hose no longer reached my drain pipe. Once sorted out, my first wash today with the new unit and GGGRRRIIINNDDDING.. I would not recommend this product. Will be calling Maytag again Monday.

I purchased the Maytag MDB8959SBS dishwasher back in 2014. I have historically been a Bosch guy when it comes to dishwashers but I have been so happy with my Maytag Maxima washer and dryer, I wanted to give their dishwasher a chance. Well, it has been a major disappointment, to say the least. For starters, it just doesnt clean that well. I am very careful in how I load a dishwasher. I do not put baking sheets across the bottom rack lol. Consistently we find dirty dishes. Then after about a 6 months, I noticed the paint on the adjacent cabinets were peeling in spots (near the top and bottom corners). I started feeling around the outside of the door during the wash cycle and there was a fair amount of moisture collecting around the outside of the dishwasher seal (or non-seal). Fast forward to about a month ago, I noticed a burning smell in the kitchen while it was running. Did the typical check the heating element routine thinking something fell down and was burning. However, it was perfectly clean. Emptied it completely and ran a totally empty load. The smell was still there. I eventually figured out the smell was emanating from the upper right corner of the door. Coincidentally this was right above the location of the control board. I grabbed a tool and carefully removed the front panel and discovered wires were melted (some fused together) and even the inside of the panel (which is plastic) was melted in spots as well.So yes, I could have contacted Maytag and sent pictures and fought with them over a repair but to be honest, I have no interest in keeping this appliance. It has been trouble since day one. Again, to be fair, I have had good luck with their other appliances but this was an awful experience and a total waste of money. I have since gone back to Bosch and could not be happier.

We bought this Maytag dishwasher two years ago with a two year warranty. We paid close to $700. Six months after we bought it, it started having problems on and off. They are including: leaking water, lights going on and off, cycles are not completed. We changed the console once, and soon after that it broke down again, and this time is out of warranty. Total repair times are: 6 times in two years. My husband call the company, asked them if there is a recall for this model? They told that there is no recall. Then the repair person came. According to his repair experience he said this is the common problem and he got a lot of calls for the same problem. If he told the truth about this, then the company was lying to its consumers!!

Purchased the Maytag Bravos washer approx. 2.5 years ago. I cannot even begin to describe how disgusted I am with this washer. My clothes i.e. towels come out ripped on the edges, clothes do not get clean, shirts etc come out wrinkled no matter what setting used. It is not energy efficient because loads of laundry need to be washed twice if they are soiled (like our everyday jeans). Went back to the independent store where I purchased washer and was told to use only the bulky or gentle/delicates cycles to reduce rips in clothing. Such a complete waste of money, and it was not cheap!

I could care less if Maytag responds as I have already advised all my family and friends to avoid Maytag products. After spending over $1200 to buy this refrigerator it took 6 months for the ice maker to failed, and it needed a control board replaced. Maytag had a great reputation; however, in the past 5 years their products are worthless. I also have a Maytag dishwasher which failed and was stuck on cancel with a flashing light. The dishwasher panel needs to be replaced and I have just decided to replace both of these products with a different brand.

Maytag dishwasher mdb7749awm2 - It appears that everybody who bought one of these dishwashers has run into this issue at one time or another, and it usually takes one full year of use before the control panel goes out on these units, and in most cases, it has to do with moisture getting on the thin strip of wires leading from the control board to the control panel. It usually occurs right where the strip enters the control panel... There is nice little gap for moisture to rest right on the wires, which will eventually lead to corrosion. I included an image of what to look for (see the nice black rust areas on the wires? That was my problem, and probably yours, too). If you have some very, very fine sandpaper, and have patience, then you can get the rust off the wire, but be very, very careful, or you could take the small thin wire off in the process! Ive made this repair myself to my unit, and I did it for one my friends machines (it was a Maytag, and his lasted two years, but had the same problem, too), and both had similar problems and right in the same spot! After removing the corrosion, the system worked great again. However, before hooking the unit up again, I sealed the area with some silicone to hopefully prevent this from happening again. Now, Im not saying that this is the problem that you are having, but its worth investigating, and dont be afraid to pull-off the front panel...its just held on with an adhesive and will go back on with no issues. Anyway, this could save one hundreds of dollars in repair costs. I hope that this helps.

I have a two year old version of this dishwasher (MDB894995BB3) and now the start and cancel light on the control panel stopped working. I now see that this is a common theme with this model and I feel it is their obligation to repair these units with permanent fix and not the same thing that will fail again. My Maytag refrigerator was purchased from Home Depot less than 3 years ago. It is a French door, bottom freezer draw model #MFI2569VEA1. Every four days, there is a huge puddle of water at the base of the unit and it is starting to ruin my ceramic tiles. I tried the online video solutions to no avail. Home Depot wont repair it, they told me to contact Maytag. Maytag wants me to purchase a $375 warranty, which is 30% of what I paid for the refrigerator. I will never buy a Maytag refrigerator again, or any Maytag product for that matter. They once stood for solid reliability and peace of mind, now you get a piece of junk instead. I cant even sell it on Craigslist if I wanted to because who would want it? If a class action suit is ever initiated, Ill be on board. I hope Consumer Affairs contacts me.

I purchased this machine less than 1 month ago. Have had tech here twice - he cant find anything wrong with machine. As for large capacity it will hold a lot of clothing, but will not clean them. I have had to put less than a 1/4 of tub full of clothing (about 15 small items). Use high water level, extra rinse, then rinse and spin again to get the 2 tablespoons of HE soap off my clothing. Takes over 2.5 hours to wash about 15 items. I have called Maytag and they will not back their product. I purchased at Home Depot and they said they have to do what Maytag says. Sending another tech out in 2 more weeks. Takes more water, more electricity, and more time to wash clothes than ever before.

Purchased Maytag dishwasher two years ago from Home Depot. It worked for about six months before it would stop working. When adding a dish after initial start would cause the unit to just die. After unplugging unit for a day the start/cancel drain buttons will flash. After reading online about a demo mode have tried and gotten it to work periodically. I continue to read online and have found there is a diagnostic mode. The settings are in a schematic packed with the unit. I found mine written in French (part #W10321879A). I called Maytag/Whirlpool and asked for the English version. They could not and would not provide me with part #W10321878A the English version, a single sheet of paper. They will only provide to a licensed repair technician. I am only asking for what should have been included in the original purchase. I paid $850 for a dishwasher that is not chump change. I know the control panel is bad but I would like to use it until the new part arrives. I think I may return the control panel and take my losses and go buy a brand that is not owned by Cesspool (Whirlpool).

I bought a Maytag Centennial Top Loading washer 2-1/2 years ago. Its worked very well, but has started to roar so loud on high-speed spin that you have to leave that side of the house to be heard. The factory technician determined that it had a bad gearbox and that it wasnt anything I had done that caused it. He told me it was going to cost more for parts & labor than the machine was worth. I called Maytag and was told they wouldnt help me because it was after the one-year warranty. When I asked for a supervisor, he offered to pay for the parts, but not the service. Thats kind of like Chevy offering to pay for the defective engine part, but not the installation. Purchased Maytag Dishwasher MDB8959SFH4 as part of a kitchen renovation with hardwood floors. Realized that the dishwasher was leaking intermittently. Appeared that the door wouldnt latch properly. Called Whirlpool (parent company). Technician came out to assess the situation - couldnt recreate the problem so suggested replacing door seal. I try to explain to him that in my opinion it wasnt the door seal but a failure to latch because the top rack was not retracting completely on an intermittent basis. He also suggesting replacing the latch. Repair was carried out and same issue arose three days later. I systematically removed one dish at a time and then tried closing the door - after removing about the 6th item the door closed. Called the repair company today and they told me he had just received a recall from Whirlpool - apparently an issue with the tracks not allowing the rack to retract properly - what I have been saying all along. I called Whirlpool but they insisted the notice was sent out some time ago. I called Home Depot where I bought the appliance and they confirmed that they were not aware of this issue. I suggested they should not be selling this dishwasher until Whirlpool remedy the manufacturing defect. I will follow up with Whirlpool to let him know I have spoken with Home Depot and they were not aware of the issue.

We have had this washer/dryer stack up for about 2 years now. Not long after it was purchased from Best Buy, it started smelling like mold, even though we were doing everything possible to keep it ventilated. Best Buy employee said that service was not covered by the warranty that we purchased, so they suggested we YOUTUBE some ideas on how to get rid of the smell. They said it was a common complaint for front load washers. We have tried Affresh, hot water and bleach, hot water with vinegar and lavender, etc. Nothing is working. There is mold on the plastic inside the washer door and the stench is horrible now. You can smell it when you walk into our home. Now Feb 2012, about 1 1/2 years after buying, the touch panel controls dont work. I called Maytag regarding any control panel recall and they said no and its out of warranty. I am a WWII vet. I bought a Maytag dishwasher 4 years ago from Home Depot... Cost me $600 in total repairs. Maytag would not help. My son just brought it to the dump! At that same time I bought a Maytag bottom freezer from Home Depot... It has never worked right. Ice dispenser broken after 1 year, food freezing in fridge at any temperature... It just died! Maytag refuses to take any responsibility for THIS POS!They should be ashamed at the way they treated me. I am 94 years old, and have fought for our freedom, and was looking for one simple thing from this American company. Its called fairness! Maytag sucks! You have lost a lifetime customer. You have lost my son as a customer, and will lose anyone I talk to, as well as my son posting on ALL social media! SHAME ON YOU MAYTAG! SHAME ON YOU MAYTAG!

I am very dissatisfied with this Maytag Gemini oven Ive had it for 4yrs. It has been in the shop twice for the same problem. Temperature control. It is down again for the same thing temperature control. The repairman, who I had to look at it, says the bill will be over $500.00. I paid $1300.00 for this stove. I cant afford to put any more money in this stove. I had to pay $100.00 for repairman to tell me this. The model # met8665xw02 serial#D30522404. Is there a recall on this stove? There should be. I sold Maytag products for several years at Circuit City. I always pushed Maytag instead of another brand. I believed in Maytag. The repairman hasnt been lonely to me.

I just finished paying off my Maytag Bravos series washer and dryer, and now they are failing! The washer isnt getting dirt out and the dryer power button broke. And its not like I can use some pliers to get the switch to work, its like the part that controls the power just dropped out of existence, leaving me with a knob in my hand that connects to nothing! Of course, the limited warranty only covers the drums, not the little dinky parts that break more easily. I had inherited a set of Maytags and they were well over 20 years old (possibly 30) and they both were powerhouses. But this is terrible! I feel super disappointed that Im going to have to buy a new set after only owning these for 18 months. I know I WONT be buying Maytag ever again, though!

We (family of 2) purchased our Maytag Bravo XL Washing Machine Model#MVWB88
We (family of 2) purchased our Maytag Bravo XL Washing Machine Model#MVWB880BW in Nov. 2013 for over $700.00. Last week, Dec. 2019, the washer would not finish the rinse/spin cycle. The clothes were still wet. I researched troubleshooting in the Maytag booklet included with the machine and tried everything. It still showed an OL on the readout. It was not overloaded as I only had 3 towels, 3 washcloths, and 3 hand towels in the washer. I tried just the rinse/spin cycle alone to get the water out of the clothes, but they remained wet, and the OH still appeared on the machine. When I called the place where we bought it, they suggested unplugging it, waiting and plugging it back into the outlet to possibly reset the machine. That seemed to work for 1 very small washload. The next day, I tried washing again and the OH appeared with the clothes still being wet. We had a repair person come out. The service call/diagnostic of $116.98 plus repairs of $304.41 plus $95.00 to install of the new Motor Control Board. I feel that cost is excessive for only 6 years of service. Before we bought this machine in 2013, I had a Maytag which lasted over 20 years with NO problems. I always thought Maytag was the best washer, but this experience has proven to change my mind. We went out and bought another washer rather than replacing the board not knowing how long the new one would last. Needless to say, we did not buy another Maytag. I do not feel I can trust the Maytag products anymore. After this experience, I did more research on the Direct Drive used in this particular model washing machine and found that it had been problematic. I would have thought Maytag would have offered a recall to avoid these costs/problems and avoid dissatisfied customers. Along with the original purchase of the Maytag washer in 2013, we did buy the matching dryer and are hoping the dryer will last longer than the washer. We shall see.... This has been an unexpected and expensive lesson.

I purchased a Maytag Bravo XL from Lowes. Ive had nothing but trouble with it since day 1. I called Lowes and they said the hose that was placed on it was the wrong hose because I cannot use the the BULKY Cycle. Its easily to off balance and shakes the house. Im continuously having to restart it, it just stops and blinks without any codes showing, on all cycles. I paid $1,000.00 for this washer and will not purchase another Washer with sensors. The life span of the digital washers without agitators are maybe up to 3 years, if that. My last washer was a Whirlpool Cabrio Top Loader and it did the same thing. Since 6 months fridge being in my house I started to have problems, rust on the doors, water coming out of the bottom, freezer door got stuck w/ ice and couldnt be opened, butter, eggs, milk can be frozen one day and the next they have mold and bacteria because of the changes in the cooling system, among my problems. And what? Well yes thank you so much for the guarantee Maytag has in Puerto Rico, IT SUCKS! They been in my house more than 5 times and nobody really says whats wrong. They supposedly change the computer, still having problems, and this was done after more than three times visits from Maytag guarantee. Im still paying for the damn fridge and DO NOT HAVE A RELIABLE REFRIGERATOR. Im wasting too much food, Im obligated to buy food almost every day cause Im scare to give something that may be bad and my family will be food poisoned. Whos going to pay me or my family if something happens. Maytag is still running falsely commercial ads and somebody MUST STOP THEM. This appliances are not free or cheap. PLEASE help us because Ive learned that Im not the only one having problems in Puerto Rico w/ Maytag. Also I believe Maytag is using technicians not ruled by the government of Puerto Rico and thats why the service is horrible.

The washing machine is rusting. (A friend said, although Maytag’s big promotion was Made in America the inferior metal probably came from China). Buy cheap and to “hell” with the consumer! As many horrible reviews as I have read about the Bravo Series of washers and dryers I am shock there has not been a recall or better yet, a class action lawsuit! I purchased a new Maytag fridge apx 8 months ago (model# MFF2258VEW6). It has french doors and a bottom freezer and from day 1 it has constantly leaked water all over my kitchen floor. I started putting towels in front of it after my first slip and fall. I had the water line checked for the ice maker and it was fine. It continued leaking day after day. Then I started getting a lot of ice build up all over the drawers and on my frozen food, which became freezer burned and I only had the temp at 2. They have a warranty on it, so called the company and they brought me a loaner fridge of the same kind.. OMG this fridge is doing the same exact thing, even worse. I am disabled and fell last night again and my leg and foot is so swollen.. I really hurt myself and Im not going to let this company get away with this!! I called the company and told them and they are checking into what they can do with the refrigerator. After reading all the about the Maytag bottom fridge leaks and other problems, I refuse to get the same one again. If they do not do something, I promise I will before I get hurt again!

I bought the quiet series 200 dishwasher about 2 years ago. The control board went out and because it was past the industry standard one-year warranty, we were told we need to pay the cost of repair and parts ourselves. Well, I came here and seen that there were numerous complaints about that board specifically with all their models of dishwashers. I called and raised hell two times, and then I found them on Facebook and publicly bashed them there on their own page. They got back to me there and gave me an email address to explain my problem with their product. So I did. I even copied this web address and pasted it to my complaint. First, they called me and offered the part at 50% off. I told them, Go to hell. Even at 50% off the part combined with the techs labor, Im still better off buying a new machine and it will not be a Maytag ever again! A week after that another phone call came from them, this time saying they will cover the part 100%, but no labor. I agreed and for about $180 I got a new control panel installed and a one-year warranty on everything except cosmetic damage. Not bad, eh? Certainly not typical, I was told by the repair guy. Be angry, be respectful, but be persistent and public! That’s my advice.

Prior to purchase, I did my due diligence and read reviews about this washing machine. Apparently, they were written by Maytag employees, because this washing machine has been a major disappointment. Yes, it tangles clothes and sheets, but I feel that is to be expected since it is HE and uses less water. I will give it that and I dont have to dry nearly as long. But that is where my positivity ends. Clothes dont always come out totally clean. And then there is the issue with the horrific grinding noise. The machine has been making a progressively louder, angry, grinding noise with a high-pitch end note. And as of today, a horn type noise has started. Lovely.I anticipate the machine is on its last legs and I have only had it a few years. I spent too much money on this and feel like I have been misguided and, quite honestly, ripped off by Maytag.

We had a Whirlpool stove/oven for many years, and it was finally time to trade it in. Everything about that unit was good. While shopping for another Whirlpool, the sales rep told us that Maytag and Whirlpool are one and the same. That we found, is false. An important feature for us in an appliance is the self cleaning oven. The Maytag oven had to be leveled four times after it was installed, in order for the self clean feature to function. The self clean part is only a small indented portion of the bottom of the oven, not the entire oven. And even that does not clean. After going through the dealership service about this problem, I contacted Maytag. My final frustrated summary to the rep was that I understand that we bought a lemon, and you are not going to help us in any way. I just want to say to anyone considering a Maytag stove and oven, raise your standard. If you choose Maytag, you will only be disappointed. I am.

This Maytag was installed in this house in the summer of 1984 and washed dishes for my in-laws for 26 years. We moved in as a family of four and this Maytag dishwasher is still washing the dishes clean. No rinsing, just make sure the food is gone. We replaced the belt about 6 years ago and I think my Mother-in-law replaced the door seal. It has a power saver button, 2 cycles, and the cups are on the bottom rack, plates and such on the top. I dont put plastic bowls on the bottom because it gets a bit too warm for them but all the bells and whistles still work. It is a fairly large model, WU301, with ample room for plates and platters. I dont wash pots because I dont like what the dishwasher soap does to the finish on them. Having the cups on the bottom is nice and the rack is very usable for other dishes as well. The cutlery rack is located on the top rack, removable and a decent size. Almond body, silver and dark brown accents, very 1984 but not a bad look. All of the buttons and knobs are easy to read and use. Maytag, 1984, model #WU301.

Bought new in 2006. From the beginning it shook a little. I could not use high speed without leaning against it and pulling upward on the unit. Maytag service workers came out and at first said they needed to balance it. That was not it. Then they said it was the drawers that I purchased as an option. Finally, one guy just straight up said they had no answer for it. Then came the day, last month, it was spinning and suddenly it started to rock and I ducked out because I thought the tub was coming through. I seen smoke. Yelled for the kids to get outside. With the phone in one hand calling the fire dept, I ran for the electric box & started throwing switches. Fire dept said that is what saved my house. Now it sits in my dining area because of a lawsuit I was never contacted about. No parts are available. Thats what happened when Maytag chose to send the business to China. Now they are back to making them in the USA but why would I buy again from a company that does not make good? Well I love blogging and Facebooking. I know 40% of Central FL because Ive lived here 60 years, plus my husband serve all of Orange County 35 years. This review will go out all over. Anyone need a tall table?

Immediately after the warranty was up our refrigerator started leaking all over the floor. The drain clogged and freezes up on the bottom under the freezer. I think that I finally figured out a way around the piece of junk Maytag sold me. I bought a Maytag french door, stainless, yada, yada refrigerator in 2006. When it broke down, see later description, the first several times it was ok because of the warranty. This POS has failed 7 times requiring $300+ to fix every time. When contacted about the issue, the people at Maytag seem happy. The business model is working perfectly. There goes another sucker. The refrigerator begins its eventual breakdown with the door alarm light and sound beeping constantly. Beeping that continues for days and weeks. The next progression to failure continues with it not beeping anymore but now the interior lights do not light when the refrigerator is opened. Finally, the refrigerator stops cooling entirely and it is dead. Now, Maytag no longer wants anything to do with it so you need to call a repair man. When the repair man arrives, the entire time he talks about what a piece of junk Maytag is. They, every time, at first think it is the switches and replace them. This NEVER fixes the issue. Next, they have to replace the computer brain. $400 to fix. EVERY TIME. Now, at least every year. If you buy Maytag and have a similar experience, get your wallet out. Sell you junk then dont stand behind it.

I share the complaints of others about the Maytag Bravos washer (model MVWB300WQO), which I purchased in October of 2009.Besides being overpriced, its a washer that doesnt soak clothes, develops a bad odor, has silly things like unnecessary lights and music, and you cant add an item once the wash cycle has begun without the cycle starting over from the beginning. It also leaves washed items in twisted wads and the lid locks so you cant see whats going on inside. In addition, it damages items. Ill have to replace a full-sized blanket that it recently destroyed and now I cant trust that itll wash things safely, which is a problem. The person I spoke with at the companys customer service department simply said that I shouldve used the bulky item option instead of the regular cycle. I explained that Id used the bulky item cycle before and the same thing happened. The washer leaves larger items stretched very tightly across the tub and I suspect that is how my lightweight cotton blanket was destroyed. She offered to schedule someone to service the washer. But its not broken, its a poor design, so sending someone here would be a waste of time.

I bought my Maytag dishwasher MDB7749SBM0 three years ago. After it was in one month it already needed a service call. It needed a control panel. Out of the dishwasher 4 weeks because this happened over Thanksgiving. Two months later it stopped working and needed another service call. Technician was inexperienced and another one had to be called. Out of the dishwasher 3 weeks. At this time, and because of the expense of the machine, I purchased an extended warranty. This was control panel number two. Not long after, the heating element had to be replaced. Two weeks without the dishwasher. Now, my dishwasher stopped working again and it needs a new control panel. The technician is rude but did offer the information that the moisture ruins the control panels. IT IS A DISHWASHER!!! IT USES WATER!!! I only run the dishwasher twice per week so I cant imagine how poorly it would hold up if it was run more often. I am on my third week without the dishwasher because the part is on back-order! No one can tell us when it will be in. I bought a Maytag because I thought they had the appliance market under control. MY MISTAKE! I am very angry.

I called and the lady told me that they changed the part # and that they dont have any made yet and dont know when they will. WHAT!!! How can a company not have any parts made for their own dishwasher. I didnt buy the dishwasher when I bought all my other appliances, because there was a dishwasher here. It was gross and didnt work well. All my other appliances are Kenmore and I will stick with them. Have owned them for years and never had any problems.

Under class action suit in 8/2005, Maytag repaired my Neptune washer by replacing motor conversion kit. 6 yrs later the washer is having same problems as had originally; we asked Maytag just to replace the motor drive again ($190.00 part). They refuse, although this motor drive had identical life span to the one they replaced. It seems the replacement part was not new and improved, it only lasted as long as the original. Only now, we are past the class action suit deadline by years.

I can see by the comments on this page that the letter I sent to Whirlpool was in vain. I purchased a Maytag double oven gas range (MGT8775XW00) from our local Lowes. We were remodeling a home we had purchased. Unfortunately (as anyone whos been involved in home remodeling/renovation knows well), it took much longer than I thought it would before range could be installed. It was several months later before it was installed. First time I tried to use the top oven, it would heat to set temp (I assume) and then shut down. The larger bottom oven had erratic heating. I tried adjusting oven temps but it was a guessing game. We had Fix-Rite Corp out twice and they were puzzled by the problem. Two times, they replaced the control panel. After the second repair, it was decided the only thing to fix the kitchen was a complete gutting, new cabinets and floor. The oven was pulled out before I had a chance to use it again. By the time we got the kitchen finished and range reinstalled, I discovered the oven still had the same problems and the broiler would ignite sometimes and when it did, the flame would go out after 30 to 60 seconds and would not come back on. By this time, we were past the one-year warranty. After the first repair did not work, I tried to get Lowes to take it back and assured them I would purchase another range from them. They said they could not do that. Now I can see Im going to end up buying another range. Be assured it wont be Maytag and it wont be Lowes. I also own and use Maytag washer and dryer.

Replacing a working but noisy 14 year old Sears dishwasher for the newer Maytag was my bone head move for 2011. It died the first year control panel shot, no warranty. Paid for repair. This month dead again; same problem. Recall this stainless steel garbage. Maytag model MDBH949. Maytag, never again. Bought twice and last time.

I tried emailing Maytag but from what I read on consumer reports I doubt Ill get an email back. After our 20 plus year old Kenmore fridge was taken by hurricane Sandy I decided to try Maytag. What junk! We have a bottom freezer and were getting water build up on the bottom under the basket. In order to keep the water from leaking on floor I had to chop the ice out of the bottom every 2 days. My husband got frustrated and took the whole freezer apart only to find all the coils were covered in ice. Soon after that the ice maker stopped working. Tried different things to get it working. We finally took it apart and found the factory did not screw in all the screws on the inside so they fell out on the circuit board and shorted the thing out. Lucky it didnt burn the house down. All I can say is junk! Do not buy!

Bought new Maytag French Door with cooling drawer refrigerator in July, & have had nothing but problems with both product & customer service since. Have already had 2 service calls for the SAME problem. The in-door ice maker/dispenser is a horrendous mess. Place a container below the opening to get ice cubes & ice is sprayed in chunks all over the floor & around the kitchen. To get ice, you have to put the container in direct contact with the opening, & then place a towel over the entire in-door unit to keep ice chunks from spraying all over the floor. The unit has a small flap-door in the ice maker, which must open & close automatically when getting ice, but the flap failed to close, so the ice in the ice maker was melting & the water running into the refrigerator unit & onto the floor. Called warranty repair & they came out & said they fixed the door-flap, but they did not. Ice was still melting & the freezer unit would not even keep ice cream & pastry items frozen solid. Called repair a 2nd time during the first 4 months of ownership, & they came out & replaced the motor to the small door-flap in the in-door ice/water unit. When asked why the freezer would not keep ice cream & pastry items frozen solid, the repairman stated (quote): Freezers dont keep ice cream frozen solid because it has so much sugar in it, its like alcohol. Had no excuse about the pastry issue however. We replaced a 12-year-old Jenn-Air with this piece of junk, but at least the Jenn-Air kept ice & ice cream frozen solid, & the ice maker did not leak & spray ice around the kitchen. Jenn-Air must know something about freezing sugary ice cream, that Maytag/Whirlpool do not understand. Then today we got a notice that Whirlpool had denied payment for the 1st repair visit, even though the unit was only 2 months old then. As such, we expect them to deny payment for this 2nd visit, even though the unit is now only 4 months old. Bad product & sloppy customer service, from a company with ZERO consumer support.

I have a Maytag Range that I bought new and installed 6-1/2 yrs ago for over $1200.00. I am single so I rarely use the ovens. The upper over I use maybe 1-2 times a month and the lower oven I may use once a month. The night of 3/7/2016, I used the cleaning cycle set on medium for both ovens. Yesterday, when I went to wipe the ovens down, I found the lower heating elements, on both ovens, had snapped. The top ovens lower bracket had broken in 2 places, the first break is about 2 from the connection, on the right side leaving about an 7 gap. The lower ovens element had broken in only one place about 2 from where it connects into the back of the oven. This has to be a flaw in the either the design or the material. In the 45 yrs that I have been using ovens and stoves, my last stove was over 35 yrs. old, I have never had a heating element break. While I can understand a break at the connection, I can see no reason that the it would break in the center of one side on both lower elements in the same oven. I also noticed that lower heating elements are a much small gauge than the top which I find strange. The other issue with the stove is the seals around the windows are not tight. I noticed dust was inside the two glass panes. The rubber seals were sunk down into the door, but Maytag said it was not their problem that I must have done something. When I remodeled my kitchen, I bought all Maytag products: 1.H20 Frig - The electronic panel went out after 3 months and had to be replaced. Manufacturing Defect - When the repairmen came to fix it, he told me to call Maytag which I did. They refused to pay for the repair because I called a repairman first, even though the business was Maytag certified. Even though I said I would cancel the service call they said because I had made the appt. and they recommended I call Maytag, they would not cover the repair. 2. Stainless Steel Dishwasher (Cost over $700.00) - Motor went out after 3 yrs. 3. Microwave/Convection Oven (above the stove)- Convection light out after 4 months. The replacements are not inexpensive. One other complaint I have is when I bought all my large kitchen appliance Maytag had a $600.00 rebate offer. Even though I mailed all the required documents to the company over 2 months before the rebate ended, I never received my rebate. The explanation I received was that the center that received my documents delayed forwarding them to the proper department that processed rebates and they were received after the offer ended. When I questioned the legality of the practice, I was told that this was all explained in the Terms and Conditions (ie: small print).

I purchased this Maytag washer/dryer set in February 2017 and I am very, very happy with it. This is a brand that has proven dependable for more than 80+ years. This is a low water washer that saves money on energy bills. I love the extra large capacity and was very concerned how well it would clean without an agitator. But having confidence in the name, which is why I purchased this set, I was very pleased with the cleaning power. The only disadvantage I see is with the soak cycle which is timed. I would like to have an option to soak indefinitely. So if you are trying to remove blood stains, you may have to use the soak cycle a few times before all the blood is removed. (Assuming that you are only using cold water and no additives.)

We have a Maytag dishwasher that came with the house we purchased in 2012. Im not sure of the exact age but the former owner said it was a relatively new installation. The appliance works very well; cleans well. Just a couple of things of concern. First, it is really noisy. The fact that we can very clearly hear it running in the adjacent room does not speak well for it in this regard. The other things that has occurred is that rusting is evident on the trays of the dishwasher. One of the upright pieces has already broken off due to rust and two others are close to coming apart very soon. Nothing sharp is placed in those areas that are coming apart so there would be nothing remarkable to disturb the plastic coating on the wire racks. I can only conclude that the plastic coating was defective at the start; hence the rusting at the base of the upright pointing racks. That said, it does clean well but I dont foresee this unit lasting much longer overall due to the rack damage that is continuing to occur. I would expect the racks to at least last as long as the dishwasher but this does not seem very likely at the rate the racks are deteriorating.

I have a Maytag refrigerator, Model #MBR 2256KES6, that is only 18 months old. It has totally stopped working. First, there was a large puddle of water on the kitchen floor and then a loud clicking noise in the middle of the night. It does not cool the fridge or the freezer. Like in a previous posting I also have a Maytag dishwasher, model MDB7749. Just this weekend we had our third control panel go up in flames. Thankfully the breaker hit and it burned itself out quickly. We had previously had one go out where it would just restart in the middle or near the end of a cycle. One other time, we heard the popping and saw the small black smoke come out from under the panel covering. This last time we were in the other room and heard the popping, and then smelled the burning. Aside from the panel issues, this has been a decent dishwasher. But at this point with a third repair I could have bought a new one. This is the only appliance I havent bought the extended warranty on and I regret it. Hopefully Maytag will add this to their previous recall.

It is nice to know that there are other people out there that have the same problem with the Maytag washers cabinet inside and outside rusting. Our rusting is around the bleach area rim and on the outer seam of the washer. Our washer is now 4 years old. We started having the rusting problems in 2011. We called Maytag and of course. They are sorry for our problem but cant do anything about it. They made it sound like we were the only ones having this problem. We need to stand strong and continue to complain about this problem until Maytag takes responsibility for their poor quality washers. Anyone out there looking to purchase a washer. Do your homework. I bought a Maytag washer and dryer unit from Lowes 3 years ago. The idler pulley failed causing a squealing noise every time we turned it on. It had to be replaced along with a new belt. The washer failed to work shortly after that. It had error codes that Maytag could not give me information about. These were both higher grade commercial units. We hoped they would last longer than 3 years without having major repairs. We also have had to install two lid switches for the washer in that same time span. Quality has been very poor and customer service has been worse. I will never buy another one of their products again.
