Used my washer ONE time and when the load was done my clothes were soaking wet. Tried to get the clothes to spin dry but the washer would not work. Called for repair. They replaced the activator. I did one load of laundry. It worked fine. Did a second load of laundry and the clothes were soaking wet. The washer would not do anything else.

As with everyone else here I have had my second control panel go here. In the five years I have owned it the first was covered by an extended warranty that I had purchased when I bought it, the tough part is I was forced to buy another Maytag at a higher price because of a recall for dishwashers catching on fire. I found out about this by accident.

After my divorce, I bought a new house for my youngest son and me. It came without a fridge, so I used some of my settlement money to buy one I had been dying to get - stainless, French door, with bottom drawer freezer! It worked fine for the first 9 months or so. Then, water started pouring through the ceiling of my downstairs master bedroom. Turns out it was coming from the freezer water line. Ceiling tiles ruined, carpet stained. Then it started making this god awful noise. It starts, rumbles for a while (long enough to wake everyone up or give the dog a coronary), then is quiet for a while. Next, I open the freezer to find a sheet of ice across the bottom of the drawer. I assumed I had done something, so I got rid of it and thought nothing else of it. Last night, I get ready to make dinner and there is this blizzard of frost all over the freezer. It looks like a winter wonderland. I am afraid to see what is there when I go home and even more fearful to attempt to use my warranty.

Would need 3rd panel for 8-year dishwasher - Either no lights come on the panel or Load done lights, like now. It has happened so many times over the years from about a year after spending a lot of money on a Quality unit. Many times I was able to operate it after turning the breaker off/on or leaving it to sit for a week or so, multiple times! Also, the rubber on the racks did not do so great - peeled and rusty. I did apply rubber repair multiple times, then got new racks at my expense. Several other brands bought over the years lasted 10+ years with no repairs!

We purchased a Maytag MVWB765FW top load washer with agitator to replace a Whirlpool with premature gear case problems (less than 3 years old). Was partially sold by the attractive metal label that says 10 YEAR limited warranty. It is now less than 2 years old and the Maytag selected repairman just diagnosed a failing transmission and of course advised us this is not covered by the warranty. Cost to repair—$ 600. About as close to false advertising as I have seen.I can’t believe that this company would sell such crap and not stand behind their products! But after seeing all these other complaints I believe it now. I bought both washers from Nebraska Furniture Mart and I realize they only sell the appliances but I plan to inform them that if they continue to handle Whirlpool and Maytag products they will never sell another appliance to me or to anyone else I can influence to not buy from them. We as consumers are almost powerless against these manufacturers but if we can influence the stores we buy from, just maybe we will see some improvement.

We bought the Maytag Bravos XL washer 6 years ago when we moved into a new home. We have a large family and after reading many reviews, we settled on this washer. It has served us well for the past 6 years. At the moment, however, it is out of commission. The bearings wore out. My husband ordered new parts and we hope to have our washer up and running again in a couple of days.

This is part of the control panel that shows time, etc. Called Maytag just now & they told me that the control panel is starting to fail. I could purchase a one year extended warranty for $289!!!Are you kidding me??? The part alone would be around $160. What has happened to Maytag? I thought they had a good name. :( Very disappointed.

This Bravos washer and dryer saves energy for sure, but sadly, that is it. It does not wash my clothes and rinse them adequately. They are so twisted and wrinkled I have ironed just about all my clothes. Even my synthetics are severely wrinkled. The dryer sensors do not work. They never dry the clothes adequately. The concept was good in that they are compact and have a large capacity, but the design does not work. I was lured in and unfortunately, there were no reviews at the time but I see that everyone shares my sentiments. The washer and dryer are just not any good. Thank you.

Im not sure that the guys who designed this unit ever actually tested it. During the wash cycle, if you have something like a fitted sheet it will actually stuff all of the surrounding wash items into the sheet until it forms one huge, round ball. Then it gets really interesting because the vicious spin cycle sends the machine marching around the laundry room and this happens even if the wash has not balled up. I now try to evenly distribute the wash within the tub prior to starting the wash cycle but it doesnt work. So now I grab a cup of coffee and newspaper and sit with my washer throughout the entire spin cycle to make sure that the hoses dont tear out of the wall.

In 2011 we purchased a complete appliance grouping at Home Depot by Maytag to include the dishwasher. For some reason we neglected to purchase an extended warranty on the dishwasher. Lo and behold in 2013 our control panel went bad and the cost to repair it was almost as much as purchasing a new dishwasher. Thinking this was a fluke we were dumb enough to purchase another Maytag from Home Depot due to the loyalty made in the USA. Well here we are 2015 not even a full two years later the control panel started acting funny a few days ago and yesterday just plain old QUIT. Fortunately we were wise enough to purchase an extended warranty plan on this dishwasher so tomorrow we will be calling the repairman. Unfortunately Maytag has never solved the problem that has been occurring for at least 5 years and continues to sell this product to unsuspecting schmucks like us who try to be true to the made in the USA slogan. Shame on Maytag!!! Our model number is MDB7749SBM. Buyers beware.

We bought this range (model MER8700DS 1) March 25, 2015. Manual states when you use the oven first few times odor or smoke may happen and is normal. It also tells you this is not harmful but remove birds to another room because the fumes can kill them. Noxious fumes? Forget about the birds! Had to open up the whole house and go outside. Burned my eyes, throat and lungs. Day after day, repeatedly turned temp up to 400 trying to burn off what we thought might be a coating. No luck.Maytag got very concerned when I explained about the noxious fumes and had someone come out right away. Tech took it apart. He removed bottom (screwed in) plate that covers the bottom heating element. That plate gives the added ability to have 3 racks and make full use of the 6.3 cubic ft. capacity. Under the plate we found bits of insulation. We think that is what we smelt as it burnt up. He couldnt smell anything when he had it up to 400. So off he went thinking problem solved. Well, it still stinks. We will have Home Depot take it back. Oven takes forever to come to temp which we read in many complaints but thought thats minor. Dont know what oven to get instead since Whirlpool makes so many brand names. And other brands all seem to have their own problems.

MDB7749SBW - Purchased a new dishwasher from Home Depot & had them install it. It worked for 6 1/2 months & the control panel blinked & went dead. I did some research & found there were a lot of problems with the control panels & even a class action lawsuit. I went to Home Depot & they said contact Maytag & brushed me off. I set up a repair per warranty & all was fine for 10 months & same problem has happened again. I told them at Home Depot to replace the unit since nearly every repair job on the control panels prematurely fail again every time. I am going back to the Home Depot again. I do have older Maytag appliances that perform as required & I do know Lowes would have replaced the defective dishwasher.

April 26, 2011, I purchased a Maytag top and bottom fridge from Home Depot. After a few days, I noticed frost starting to form in my frost-free freezer and the fridge wasnt really that cold. I adjusted the dials thinking that may do the trick. Nothing changed, it was all the same and instead, frost was thicker. I contacted Maytag, which by the way was taken over by Whirlpool. I told them my situation and since I had just bought the fridge, I wanted a new replacement. They told me things didnt work that way, that I had to honor the warranty. Fine, we are almost entering October now. I have had several services calls, I have written to the Better Business Bureau, I have lost a few hundred dollars worth of food for it would be full of ice and had to be thrown out, I have contacted the executive offices of Whirlpool but they, along with the Better Business Bureau are not doing a thing. Tomorrow, once again, I am having a service call and once again, I know the issue will not be fixed. All I wanted was to either get my money back, along with extra for the loss of food or for them to just exchange it for another one, since this one was purchased with a problem. I really dont think that its right that they are able to get away with this. Just looking at this page, I see that there are plenty of people with this same issue. What is being done about it? If it were them with this issue instead of us, you know ** well they would have had a new fridge the following day. Here is my model# M1TXEMMWQ and serial# VS04658359 for this fridge. Please, I would really appreciate some help here.

Hello, I purchased a Maytag Bravos washer model MVWX655DW from the Home Dep
Hello, I purchased a Maytag Bravos washer model MVWX655DW from the Home Depot in June of 2017. I can provide the receipt. Within 6 months I had a broken lid switch and the unit would not move through the cycles. Luckily, I had the ability to replace the lid switch at the cost of about $100 just for the part. The repair was fairly involved. This summer, the unit failed to agitate, upon much research, I learned the washer drive hub (which makes the washer agitate and spin) was worn out. It was made of plastic and it is quite a job to get the cover plate off and to replace this part which ranges in price from $20-$45. This is a fairly difficult job and I would not recommend it to most people. It should not be needed in a 3 year old machine. Upon inspection of the drive shaft teeth when I took the washer apart, I found the steel teeth to have significant wear. Why? Now, in mid-November, same issue, the plastic drive hub is worn out again! I was told maybe my shock absorbers for the drum needed to be replaced as the drum may be shaking too much. My previous washer was good for 18 years and I replaced it with this highly recommended model Maytag with the chrome basket. This is absolutely the worst appliance I have had and with every repair, I viewed many, many people with the same complaints and feeling that Maytag should issue a recall on these machines. I will be contacting Maytag and Home depot with my review. The HD installer also stripped the plastic valve one of the water hoses goes on that I had also to replace. A $40 dollar part. This took some disassembly but not as bad as replacing the drive hub every three months. Needless to say, I have to buy a new machine after 3 years of unreliability with his machine. A waste of $500 + of my hard earned money. Very, very disappointed. If I wasnt mechanical and able to fix this washer, it would have cost me hundreds in repair bills. I have receipts of the parts I have purchased for this unit. I hope your experience is better if you have owned one of these machines. Maybe I just got a bad one but many people have complained about this model so I dont believe I am alone. I hate to see good people spend their money on poorly constructed machines. I certainly expected more than 3 years out of a brand new appliance. Maytag and Home Depot have lost a good, long time customer unless they want to make it right. Please feel free to contact me.

As many other reviewers have mentioned there is a defective control panel in the Maytag Dishwasher series MDB 7749. I too purchased this model at Home Depot and did not buy the extended warranty. The serviceman indicated that this model is known for its defect yet Whirlpool who owns Maytag does not have it on its recall list. I wrote to the President twice in Sept. 2017 without the courtesy of a response and now learn that he retired effective Oct.1. Is there no-one to answer his emails or is it more likely they really dont care. Sears just dropped them and who knows where their new president will lead this company. Be aware that this model dishwasher is defective and they wont replace the control panel. Too bad as once Maytag before Whirlpool bought them out, was a good and honorable company.

Top of the line $1300 Maytag Maxima MGD8100DW probably rusted much earlier before I noticed. After all how many times you check the drum of brand new top of the line dryer?? Manufacturer says not covered. Not sure but already this brand new model has been discontinued, so the manufacturer i.e. Maytag or Whirlpool take your pick found out about the defective design/part but now does not want to honor the warranty ridiculous. And one of the main selling points was made in USA (which turned out to be only assembled in USA), and the consumer reports which gave good rating but they were duped too.

Purchased the Maytag Bravos washer from Home Depot in August of 2011. Today it caught on fire (Sept, 2014). Had problems with it from the start. Some of the issues include the washing machine constantly getting off balance even with small loads, not completely draining the water from clothes resulting in having to run additional spin and drain cycles, and a bad odor coming from the water that stays on the clothes (we even called a plumber thinking it was something with our plumbing). Well today was the best. I started a small load (one twin flat sheet and a pillow case) and about 10 minutes later I smelled a weird burning odor coming from the laundry room. When I opened the door to the room it was filled with smoke. The washer was the only appliance running, otherwise I would have assumed the dryer was the source of the smoke. When I opened the lid to the washer, smoke started pouring out from around the inside drum of the washer. It smelled like burned rubber and ash. Needless to say, I doubt this washer is worth repairing. We actually have had repairs on it previously (twice in the first year) and its just a piece of junk. Glad I was home when the washer caught on fire. I hate to think what would have happened if I had not been able to unplug it and it continued burning. Do Not Buy This Brand. Definitely do not run this washing machine unless you are home to monitor it. Maytag Bravos is a fire risk!!!

I bought a refrigerator from Home Depot in July 2013. In late November 2014, I noticed water on the floor in front of the fridge. I called the Maytag customer service and reported the problem.. The customer service rep explained to me that Maytag discovered a design flaw in the part that allows the water to drain when going through the defrost cycle. I also called Home Depot. Their response was it was my problem because the fridge was out of warranty and I did not buy an extended warranty plan. After two more calls to Maytag, they scheduled a service appointment. The service repairman told me the same thing about the design flaw. I have the old part and the package the new part was in. The two parts are completely different. I requested that Maytag or Home Depot replace the fridge or give me credit for the amount I spent. Maytag is now saying there was not a design flaw and because of that, Home Depot refuses to replace the appliance. I will never buy another Maytag product or shop at Home Depot. The extended warranty is a way to place the responsibility directly on the consumer and eliminating the responsibility of the manufacturer and the store.

I purchased the Maytag MFI2670XEM0 3 Door Refrigerator in Oct 2012. Thank God I purchased the extended warranty. The freezer has had issues with improper sealing since I bought it. It builds up ice around the bottom of the freezer where the seal meets. So bad it prevents it from closing. It happens fast, so I have to scrape it off every week minimum, to keep it closed. They have replaced the seals twice, all of the slide rails, twice and it still doesnt close right. I thought when I moved to Florida, I wouldnt have to scrape ice.Next: Ice maker quit working and had to replace that. Now, I came out this morning and about busted my ** when I slipped on all the water flooding my kitchen. The ice maker has a stupid little fitting on top of the refrigerator that has a rubber bulb connected to the ice maker water line. It split in half and every time the ice maker cycles, it pours water out that fitting and down the side. Why in the ** did they design it like that? It has caused damage to my cabinets and tile floor from running under it.Im sick of this appliance. I thought Maytag was known for quality. What happened to that? What a disappointing piece of junk and Im stuck with it unless I want to put out money for something different. There should be a Lemon Law rule for appliances like this. I have asked and get nothing from the warranty service but silence (crickets). They are sending out a tech again but that will require two service calls because they always have to order parts, which takes 2-3 weeks. Ive had to call them at least 5 times, which has amounted to no less than 10 service calls and here we go again. Stay clear of these units at all cost.

I bought the matching Bravos washer and dryer 4 years ago. I always bought Kenmore appliances but decided, based on the then reviews, that I would upgrade to Maytag. Biggest mistake I have made! I am a very tolerant person always looking for the best in anything. But I have to say, I hate both the washer and dryer. My clothes are faded, they shrink in the dryer even on delicate. I really cant say anything good about them. Today I washed 2 twin sheets, one king top sheet, and one very thin blanket. When I opened the washer, one twin sheet was on top and not even wet. So now I get to run another load and have to wait to remake my bed. When I have washed rugs on bulky, they are filled with soap when finished. Half the time, it doesnt spin out the water and I run a second and third spin cycle on a variety of items. I avoid doing laundry because it is so frustrating. I am retired so I cant afford to replace them. I just dont want anyone else to suffer the same frustrations!

I bought this MMV4205BAB microwave thinking Maytag was a good brand and I wanted an over the range type. Problems began when it would stop in the middle of a cooking cycle. I called the repairman as it was under warranty. It was decided by the repairman that the weight of thing was too great for its thin frame, not letting the door close correctly. I got a new one and it, from day one, would make a shorting sound every time anything was cooked, on the stove top, under it, while it was on. It finally just shorted out. I have a Maytag washer and dryer that are also junk. So, needless to say, Maytag, 3 strikes and youre out. I will never have another Maytag product and I let others know what a great product it is.

Maytag washer not draining properly. Called Aug 15 for help. First tech in on August 23, makes a diagnosis, orders part; no news, I call, am given Sep 15 as next date. Come 9/15, I take off from work, only to find out tech cannot come that day, to reschedule. Next tech comes 9/25 with a different diagnosis and different part to order. By October 3, an announcement that part came in, to make an appointment. By now, its been a month and a half, I am so angry. I call a friend, who fixes it in 15 minutes by simply clearing a clogged drain filter. This is unacceptable: the inordinate wait, incompetent techs, unresponsiveness from customer service. I cancelled my contract with Maytag Warranty/AIG.

We purchased a home one year ago. It has all Maytag appliances that were anywhere from one year old to two years old. The Neptune LE washer is not working as of today. This washer is supposed to be the top of the line, and because it is almost three years old, it is no longer under warranty. This washer will fill with water but does not spin or rinse the clothes. We paid a lot for this home and were so happy to get appliances that were all practically new. Now, we refused to have a repairman come and charge us lots of money to fix a washer that should not be broken. I have had washers run for 15 years and that was when I was washing clothes for 6 people, including cloth diapers for triplets! I will not buy any Maytag appliances. I will be getting an Amana or a Sears brand. Please, no one go buy a Maytag appliance.

Maytag Neptune was purchased over 15 years ago to replace GE, which we purchased when children were little. I wanted a step up in quality. I remember paying around $499 for this unit. This is an analog unit. The intellidry feature has been a real asset, protecting our clothes from over drying. We have had this machine for nearly 20 years. It has been real reliable, sometimes drying 20 loads a week. Large capacity, but has to fit down a narrow and twisting stairway. Must be energy efficient, have good reviews and decent price. We always look for sales or buying incentives. Brand is secondary to quality. Knowledge of an appliances historical reputation is important. I would look at reviews, especially concerning cost of repair. I would attempt to get a hands-on view, before purchase from a reputable supplier at the best price. My dryer has only required one major repair in the time Ive had it. A few years ago we replaced the motor and blower, and I have personally replaced the drum support rollers twice. I hesitate to replace this machine, because the analog controls have proved very reliable.

We have had washer/dryer Bravo Series and been nothing but horror stories. Washer bounces all over room to point hoses come out and flooded my laundry room and foyer and garage. It takes over 1hour 45 minutes to do loads sheets which is 2 sheets 2 pillowcases. The repair man told me that takes that long due to MY sheets are dirty. I have been married 46 years and never heard that ever!!! The dryer is just as bad, takes over hour and half to dry sheets and towels almost 2 hours to dry. DO NOT BUY MAYTAG ANYTHING. The person who said needed hurricane straps to hold washer is something I agree with. Just a horror.

After a year or so my Maytag fridge is leaking, I followed instructions on how to remove ice clogging the drain pipe and fixed the problem. I see that this problem is going to repeat over and over again for the life of this unit, because of a poor design. The design fix will be to add a small heater (at the location where the ice creates the clog) actuated periodically by the control board, or at least with a manual push button for the user can easily remove press the button to melt the ice clogging the pipe. This is a cheap design which did not go through design validation and qualification.

We purchased a $945 Maytag 6.4 Cu. ft. self-cleaning freestanding electric convection range which was part of the stainless-steel package for $3600 + a $600-dollar 5 warranty. I did the research and found a solid 4.0 rating, so I went for it. Now I wish I never wasted my money and time. My 5-year warranty for all 4 appliances expired on 8/17 and now everything starts failing, how convenient. The oven will not heat past 340-350 degrees which won’t work with 90% of the stuff I bake. I called Maytag to see if it can be fixed and was quoted $400 for the issue but nothing else. I can pick up a new stainless-steel oven with the save features on a holiday sale for $500. Don’t waste your money on warranties!

After having had Maytag Highlander washer and dryer for 28 years in our ear
After having had Maytag Highlander washer and dryer for 28 years in our early married life, and continuing to think that Maytag was a quality product, we purchased the Neptune front load washer MAH6700AWW. Let me tell you this IS NOT your mothers washer, nor is this Maytag a quality product. First it was necessary to install water pipe shock arrestors because of the water valve on washer causing shock in the waterline when it closed. The automatic Softener/detergent dispenser didnt work from day one.Coins and etc. constantly kept getting under flippers and couldnt be easily removed. I found that it was impossible to remove the plastic flipper without breaking a plastic mounting tab. On my first call to customer the Maytag Customer Loyalty Team, aka Customer Service (CS), I was told that the plastic flippers were not available as a separate part, and that the entire tub assembly with plastic flippers would need to be replaced. WHAT???????? THATS LUDICROUS. After temporarily securing the broken flipper to the tub, I thought Id call again about a week later to see if the previous answer was correct. On this call, the customer service lady (whose name I have), said the flippers are available and that she would send two at no charge. A few days later two flippers arrived, but were not the correct ones. I then decided to drill two holes in the tub and remounted the broken flipper with two stainless screws as a permanent solution. Two pumps needed to be replaced. One was replaced under warranty and one by myself. The one replaced by me was damaged by a coin that made its way from the tub to the pump. Other washer manufacturers provide a means of trapping such objects before they get to the pump. The wash cycle stopped unexpectedly numerous times without reason, after which the code 5d was displayed. I called Maytag Customer service. The representative didnt know what 5d code meant. Her suggestion was to call a service man. Again, I called later to ask and was told 5d meant excessive suds which wasnt the cause. Might this have been a control problem? There were three incidents of water discharging onto the floor from under the washer over the last two months, which caused water to cover an area of approximately 5 by 12 resulting in extensive cleanup in addition to damage to stored items. Since these occurrences were weeks apart and unpredictable, I knew the problem would be difficult, if not impossible, to diagnose, even by a serviceman. I concluded that it was probably a problem with the control; either filling too long or not emptying the tub before refilling for the next cycle. Thats when I decided to send this troublesome Maytag piece of junk to the landfill.

Just passed warranty period and Maytag dishwasher broke. It would not start. Called and was allowed to purchase extended warranty for $135.00. A new panel was shipped and dishwasher lasted just under one more year with same issue. Another extended warranty was offered for $199.00. Needless to say we are buying a new dishwasher and not a Maytag or Whirlpool. The panels are notorious for rusting out. Hmmm moisture of a dishwasher and parts easily corrode.

We bought a maytag dishwasher three years ago. Approximately nine moths later the control panel went bad. They came and replaced it. Approximately six months later they came again and replaced it. Approximately a few months later it went bad again. I complained to Home Depot and they replaced the dishwasher. Too bad they would not change the brand. Guess what? Here we sit, not quite two years later and again the control panel went bad just past the warranty. The cost to repair almost $470.00. Paid $525.00 for the dishwasher in the first place. I regret ever leaving whirlpool. Our first very heavily used dishwasher (whirlpool) lasted 11 years no problems.

Purchased MAYTAG DISHWASHER MDB7809awm in 2011 for $719. In 06/2013 the far right 3 buttons stopped working. The repairman said that he sees this a lot with Maytag control panel issues. On 08/02/14 the same exact issue occurred. I contacted Maytag online on 08/02/14 and didnt hear back until 8/13/14 to say that there was no known issue and all they could do was recommend a repairman. I also called before I heard back via email and they said the same exact thing, there is no known issue and we can do is recommend a repairman. I am not interested in repairing. Been there, done that. Not doing it again. I researched the issue of the 3 far right buttons not working and there are several forums and discussion topics out there. I find it hard to believe that MAYTAG is not aware of this issue. If you GOOGLE the model you will see the same issue. Not only is the MAYTAG product poor, but they have the worst customer service I have ever seen.

Of course since it had Maytag name brand, I did not purchase extended warranty due to thinking it would at least last more than several years. I called Maytag/Whirlpool. They gave me name of authorized repair in our area. So far they have come out 2 times. $560.00 later, it is still not working and they have no answer as to how or what to do. We are now into $1300.00 between purchase and repairs and still no washer. We are retired hard working people and this is really a bad way to treat consumers. Maytag washer was bought May 2010 with an extended warranty, which expired May 2014. This machine was used by two people with average wash loads. Five months later the machine computer programming didnt work and the machine sounded like a jet taking off. Whirlpool said a one-year warranty would cost $329! This would have been less expensive than a new machine, but I felt I couldnt trust having it repaired. He told me the bearings were bad and the cost to fix was not worth the money and this machine should have been recalled. I bought another brand and will not buy Maytag again. I do not have a problem with Lowes; the problem is this crummy washer. Any digital anything is only as good as its programmer, and it seems that all digital stuff suffers from the same malady. I long for the old top loader I had 30 years ago. It actually did get the clothes cleaner and they did not smell after being washed. Plus, I could customize each load just exactly the way I wanted to with the knobs and dials. This Maytag goes to Error when adding water because I have an old well which does not supply enough water fast enough for the way it was programmed. I have to fill two two-gallon buckets and carry them to the laundry room and pour them into the washer. Every time. Hot, cold, or warm, it doesnt matter. And I, too, have to pre-wash some dirtier items. The old gasoline Maytag did a better job than this one. And this is progress!!!

Maytag Bravo Washer and Dryer - We are usually review writers. I just felt it was our duty to help others save their hard-earned dollars and not purchase this product. We have owned this expensive and highly researched set for a bit over 2 years. We have had to have repairmen out a half dozen times for dryer repairs. The washer was purchased with the largest tub because I wanted to be able to wash a full load of sheets or a blanket. NOT!!! It gets off balanced, twists every single item (as in blue jeans, towels, soft t-shirts, etc...any weight or size) into a huge mess and has actually ruined some of my clothing. The dryer gives me error messages all the time. I am beyond words with my disappointment. We saved a long time for this set and now are absolutely stuck for a long time before we can replace. You know Maytag my message to you is that hard-working people used to trust your company name. I have been married 43 years and we keep our purchases for many years. I have never in all these years been so disappointed in the huge purchase we made thinking it was a lifetime investment. Now I am doing everything I can to save this year so maybe can replace it down the road as soon as we can. I am telling you people reading this... DO NOT BUY THIS SET. The fixes NEVER work and then they have to order ANOTHER part and I have to wait for the part AND THEN the service person. I should not have to wait once the part comes in. I purchased this Maytag washer/dryer set in February 2017 and I am very, very happy with it. This is a brand that has proven dependable for more than 80+ years. This is a low water washer that saves money on energy bills. I love the extra large capacity and was very concerned how well it would clean without an agitator. But having confidence in the name, which is why I purchased this set, I was very pleased with the cleaning power. The only disadvantage I see is with the soak cycle which is timed. I would like to have an option to soak indefinitely. So if you are trying to remove blood stains, you may have to use the soak cycle a few times before all the blood is removed. (Assuming that you are only using cold water and no additives.)

I had a Maytag washer and dryer for over 25 years. I loved them so I replaced them with the Maytag name. They are not the same company as far as pride and product workmanship. From the get go it always had a dirty odor to the tub, as though the clothes had been left in it for days. I was told to just run through a cycle with bleach, but nothing. There is no lint collector and after about 8 years of using this washer, the old lint is in the bottom of my washer after every wash. Now, I have to deal with the thing coming to a screeching stop, not spinning out the water after the wash cycle. Sometimes it’s full of water and other times some water drained, but the clothes are full of water and not spun out.Now tonight, I went downstairs and found water on the floor, it’s leaking. My question is to call and get it repaired or not waste my money and go buy another brand. I may go with the latter.I purchased a fridge and dryer at Home Depot a few years ago. I wanted to stay away from Maytag name. I purchased another name only to find out it is part of Maytag. I bought the newest most energy efficient Maytag model M9BXXGMYM00 (for about 1K) from a local appliance store and after 9 months it wouldnt freeze. The local store picked up and left a loner for the fridge and made repairs in shop returning it in a week - great - except that approx. 11 months later the fridge again wouldnt freeze. The store sent repairman who charged 125$ to tell me it had leaked its freon again and would need repairs which were no longer covered under 1 year Maytag warranty. I asked the store to back their work but was only given a refill of the freon and half off the service visit. 2 months later the fridge is not freezing. I know because the repairman and store owner Mike told me that it had freon leak and that Mike himself had made repairs to the leak that the unit wasnt repaired.I have read that freon is toxic and can be hazardous to people with heart conditions and a list of bad effects. Maytag will only send someone to repair unit for a service call charge plus the repair charges and will not replace a defective unit. I can take the appliance store to small claims court over faulty warranty repairs but probably not the health risks - which are disputed by the experts. Ive read reviews and have heard from people who have appliance issues that the companies basically use a defective unit as a cash cow sending repairmen back again and again and never fixing the problem making a lot of money off of frustrated people who have bought a lemon from a company who doesnt back their product or their work. I was only looking for a decent refrigerator and paid plenty for one. I now have to get rid of a nuisance or pay to fix it - probably more than once and spend lots of time getting through the court vs. store owner process for any of the 1000 bucks lost on the defective toxic junk I got from Maytag.

I bought the top of the line Maytag washer. I was told they have improved their washer so that it no longer requires an agitator. I was also told the new machine saves you money by using less water. It has a sensor so that it only puts the water needed to clean your clothes. Instead of filling up with water and having the agitator to stir the clothes around, this new and improved machine puts a small amount of water in the machine and vibrates. The end result? All of the dirt and debris gathers in small pockets and sticks to your clothes. In order to save water the sensor only allows a small amount of water to enter the machine to rinse your clothes. When you consider how many times you have to go back and rinse your clothes before you get the caked on dirt off of your clothes, its costing you more money, more time and more aggravation. Oh yea, the maintenance man was out three times before the machine was a year old. The last visit was to replace that fine Maytag motor that was less than a year old. I have pictures that show my clothes with caked on dirt and debris on them after they have completed their wash cycle. It is HORRIBLE!!!

They now offer a repair guy but claim theyre going to charge her $90. Once she explains to them that she was never offered a repair guy & they shouldve done this before. They decided to waive this fee and send a repair guy. Once the technician comes out to the house they do absolutely nothing and they fill it up with water say we need to clean it and Ill come back out and do another diagnostic. When they come back all they do is fill it up with water get a glass check the water and say, Nope, no floating residue. Everythings fine. They then tell her she needs to get a water softener which is going to be hundreds of dollars. The technician also says do not use any other settings except for these two. Can someone please explain to me why they have all these dang buttons and settings if were not supposed to be using any of them and why all of the clothes come out with soap residue scummy residue all over them? The old washer never did this. It was a Kenmore and its the same water same everything but this Maytag washer is been nothing but problems. They tell her no one else not one other person is having this problem but when I look up this issue I find that about 2500 people on this forum are having very similar problems. Something has to be done. Maytag should have to take responsibility for this washer. The bottom line is it supposed to be an XL. When my grandparents are washing its only for two people. Theyre not even filling that washer up of all of the clothes are not even getting wet. It just goes to show you that the energy-efficiency that they claim is not working. The washers not getting enough water inside of it. Its not fully rinsing the clothes and no one should have to put the clothes in wash them then do a whole another rinse cycle just to get the dang soap off. So basically at this point she stuck having to do multiple washes using way more utilities than she should have to and Maytag is basically going to do nothing. It wont help her over the phone the technician is a joke and it looks like so many of you people are having the same issues.

Horrific, useless, inconsiderate, rude, discourteous, arrogant and banal! I bought a brand new washer and dryer. The dryer is steam type and defective and they will not exchange, despite never being used. Nowhere am I committed to an agreement saying that the machine will not be replaced if it is defective. I am getting the run-around from the store, the manufacturer and the service technicians that didnt even arrive with tools when they came to evaluate the problem. If I had my way, I would return the washer and dryer and change manufacturers. But it is a stacking unit and I used the washer which commits me to it! Maytag, Whirlpool, JennAir and KitchenAid are all the same company. I am running out of options except going to the European manufacturers! Miele will at least install the appliances. They will be my next machines and I will not have to pay a plumber twice to install them the next time!

OK, LAWYERS -- Where are you?!! You have a lot of very unhappy people who feel they have been justifiably TAKEN! Whirlpool needs to replace these refrigerators with another brand! We bought same bottom freezer Maytag refrigerator in 2010. Luckily, which we dont usually do, we purchased a five year warranty plan. Within six months we noticed the rubber seal on our refrigerator on the french door part was turning yellow and then getting darker. We feared something was burning the rubber. A Maytag repairman looked at it, called Whirlpool, told them that there werent enough parts to fix this refrigerator. Whirlpool asked him what they should do and he told him it should be taken out on the front lawn and burned (yeah for that repairman)!! Whirlpool agreed to replace the refrigerator with one, very similar but a new model #. Thank heavens, after our insistence, the warranty was extended to the new one. Now after about three years, we are having the same problems that all of you are having with the next one.. Our Home Owners insurance adjuster just gave us a settlement to have all the ceramic tiles removed, which are cracked in almost two dozen places, and whole floor replaced (minus our $1,000 deductible). The floor was put in new three years ago. The refrigerator repairman is next to come out. From what I have just read about all the complaints on this refrigerator, NOTHING is going to fix this problem short of replacing it at our expense. My advise to everyone --- FIGHT THIS. Write to Whirlpool (not Maytag -- Whirlpool owns it), and blast them over and over with letters and complaints and threats of lawsuits. Why should we be taken for that amount of money while Whirlpool does nothing but keep it. A class action suit is badly needed. Big corporations should not be able to take people over like this and get away with it. If it takes a lawyer willing to take on a class action suit, this is it! In the meantime, bombard Whirlpool with letters and dont stop! It takes persistence, but in the end -- most of the time, we will prevail. Big companies hope we will give up and go away. They count on it. Dont let them win!!! I have had a Maytag washer and dryer for twenty years with no problems. Problem is that Maytag doesnt exist anymore -- who is making this....?

I have a Maytag dishwasher and the bottom rack has rusted out so that it cant hold dishes. The dividers break at the bottom. I was told by Maytag parts that this is a common problem and theyre hearing from a lot of consumers about this, but it will cost $196 to replace.I spoke with customer service who told me that dishwashers only last 8 to 10 years” and since mine is 8 years old, I should expect that it would rust. Thats unbelievable. They wont replace the rack, nor offer it at a discount.

Problems with Maytag dishwasher, purchased at Sears Canada Model MDB7749S is only a couple of years old, and as such is no longer under warranty. This Dishwasher is less than 3 years old! Both the interior and exterior is stainless steel and looks virtually new. Cost of parts and labour to repair amount to more than a new dishwasher--this is unacceptable. Poor design. Little value compared to cost. First issue: bottom rack wheels fall off because the plastic pin holding the plastic wheels on the rack become fall out, leaving no way to hold the wheels onto the rack. Second issue: faulty design of the integrated door handle and control panel on the exterior door face. The control panel pops out of the front cover panel when door is pulled open. With some struggle it can be popped back in.I agree with another reviewer who wrote: The design of the faceplate is defective in that too much force is applied to the faceplate when opening the unit. The handle is integrated in to the faceplate. The plastic used becomes brittle over time and breaks. The panel unit (W10811169) must be replaced in entirety rather than just its housing increasing the cost of repair. To have this failure occur within the first 3 years of use is very premature. I can only assume if I repair the dishwasher I will have the same problem again. I am considering buying a new model that is designed better and comes with a longer warranty on such parts.

My Bravos XL is worthless!!! This lack of agitator design is totally ineffective. Dark clothes come out with white powder on them and I use the liquid detergent. Whites I soak with detergent and bleach then full wash cycle. Still stains on dish towels and socks. Never had a problem with the old agitator Maytag. And yes the wrinkle free cycle creates wrinkles. Deep water wash is only cycle that even comes close to cleaning and its far from perfect. Horrible waste of money, buyers beware!!! I thought all those negative reviews were overblown and since I couldnt find a large enough machine with an agitator, I ignored warnings and bought this garbage. Matching dryer is fine.

Save money. I have always had Maytag & loved them until I bought the Bravos xl top load washer. The salesperson insisted it was a large capacity energy efficient w/ great maintenance record -- greatly misleading. The water level does not rise enough to effectively clean or rinse so clothes do not get cleaned or detergent doesnt rinse out thus allowing only 2 to 3 towels or jeans to wash per load. Such ineffective cleaning cycles create the ongoing need for loads to be rewashed and be extremely small, yielding credence to other consumers’ accusations of being mislead and false advertising of xl capacity. As such, it takes hours to wash a family of threes clothes. The machine shakes like crazy and clothes get ruined as they get twisted and tangled into each other ripping, tearing, misshaping and ruining them.

My Maytag Neptune washer was purchased last October 2010. In the past few months, the washer has been making a loud noise when spinning/washing. I had a Maytag repairman look at the washer, and all the barring, etc. needed to be replaced, which would have a cost of over $450.00! I am very upset with this outcome and just looked into it and found that this washer had recalls that the consumers were not properly notified about. The lack of recall communication is inexcusable, especially since I even went as far as to buy a 3-year extended warranty and still was not notified. What really set this situation was that the repairman suggested to not buy a Maytag washer and he added that it would not be a problem since Maytag has been purchased by Whirlpool and that the Neptune washer played a part of the ending of Maytag! This whole situation has really put a bad taste for any Maytag product, and all of my major appliances are Maytag as well as the dryer I just purchased a week ago, before I knew about all of the disappointment of Maytag. I am sure the response I will be getting will be as good as the notification of the recall, which will be nothing. Thanks!

Come on people are you serious! Im talking about all those people who give this washer great reviews or even mediocre reviews. This washing machine sucks! Thank God for the glass lid so you can see how terrible it washes. No water in this thing. Clothes that sit on the edge of the bowl do not agitate enough to be washed if there was water in the wash cycle. Bleach that you use in your white wash cycle is left over and gets onto your colored cycle if you wash it the color cycle next. I ** you not, mark my words that stains are left on clothes even in a cycle that has lots of water in it. If you think Im high or crazy take a look at your local Home Depot or Lowes store. Check the area for washing machines that are for sale that have been used. You will find this Maytag Bravos XL machine there. They look good and are practically brand new and they will be there for weeks on and because people return them if they get lucky to return them. I called my store and they refuse to take it back and told me to call the manufacturer. I did just that... I called the manufacturer and they told me they can send out a serviceman to check the washing machine. Butt...and a big butt, if they find nothing wrong with the washing machine that I will be charged a service fee. Bunch of **! For all of us that get stuck with this pile of garbage we can thank the tree huggers for trying to save the world with low water consumption water washing machines.

Updated on 08/13/2021: Today a repairman who is authorized by Maytag came out. He found the problem, some arm that popped out that is located underneath the washer. He put it back together and said he needs to order the part and it will take 30 more days. Set the washer so that it SHOULD work for a couple of loads. I spent $700 on a washing machine and I have to go to a laundry mat to get my clothes washed. Here is the clincher. The guy left no paperwork, nothing, not even a business card. So I am at the mercy of this repairman (I think he said his name was Jessie). The guy was friendly, quick and knowledgeable, however he told my husband he knew what the problem was going to be, if you knew why didnt you bring the part with you and he said the part is out of stock. Why, is this part unique to Maytag washers? So I am still waiting for my washer to be fixed.Original Review: In December 2020 I purchased a Maytag washer it was delivered in January 2021 and it worked great for the first several months. Then the machine started making noises, clicking noises like it couldnt move through the gears. Then I started noticing that my clothes were not getting cleaned. It was taking an hour to wash the clothes. I told my husband it is not agitating just clicking. We had to stop and start back up the washer just to get the water level high enough for the so called deep water wash. I was finding residue left on my clothes and had to wash them 2 or 3 times to get the clothes clean enough to wear. Sometimes it wont spin enough to empty the water in the tub. It smells almost like wire burning. It has barely been 6 months and I have to have a repairman out. I will review the washer again after it has been fixed or replaced. But as of right now I will never buy another Maytag again.

Last year we replaced a Maytag dishwasher which had a faulty control panel after just a few years of light use (There are just the two of us). It was going to cost almost as much to repair it as to buy a new dishwasher, so we opted for an $800 model (MDB8959AWW6) with a control panel across the top of the door. There had been a recall on that first Maytag for the heating element or something, so we decided to put the credit towards a machine that would last us for years, we hoped! We have been in this house for 18 years and the original cheap builder-installed dishwasher lasted for 12 years. In fact, there was nothing wrong with it when we replaced it with the last one. Whatever happened to the lonely Maytag repair man? We did not buy an extended warranty, but I can see now that probably these things are only meant to last the lifetime of the warranty. We are semi-retired and cannot afford to have the dishwasher repaired, so it will be a decoration in the kitchen from on. Never ever will I recommend Maytag to anyone! One bad experience should have been enough, and we probably would not have bought a Maytag again had it not been for the credit we got for the product recall on the last one!

Loaded it up last Sunday, pressed the button to start and El Zippo. Nothing works. So here we go again with another crap product from Maytag. Yes, I have had this dishwasher, which was a pricier model but closeout priced, at Lowes in 2008, BUT I live alone, so how many dishes do I wash. At the same time this is the third time had a repairman out (with no help from Maytag other than trying to sell me an extended warranty for nearly $400) and these machines ought to last a lot longer than this. We purchased the Maytag over the range microwave December 2014. Three months after installing it the door cracked. Maytag did replace the door and the repairman thought it might be due to the heat from the stove (huh, it was designed to go over the stove, where there will be heat). Now, six months after that, the layers of plastic on the door are separating and the piece around the control panel is cracked. Maytag agreed to replace the control panel but refuse to replace the door as it is only cosmetic (their words). So much for paying a little extra for what we thought would be a quality product. It seems to me that if something was made to go over the stove, it should be made to withstand the heat.

I bought the Centennial top load washer and the dryer in May 2016 at Lowes. They are junk. I had a secondhand Craigslist Maytag washer that lasted 7 yrs and it was still running just fine when I got rid of it after purchasing this HE junk. The flimsy plastic door handle on the dryer fell off about 6 months ago. The clerk at Lowes assured me that the washer was high capacity & could handle heavy loads. Now I cant wash heavy loads because the agitator is already loose and getting ready to break. I have to wash smaller loads on the hand wash cycle. I cant wash my comforter or my rugs. The real kicker is I cant reach Maytag! I have tried calling to sit on hold for 30 mins to an hour. I tried the live chat during their regular business hours and it was not open. I am so disappointed in these machines. This is the first time I have ever purchased a new washer and dryer and this is what I get. I might as well have set $850 on fire. This model MGR5875QDW range is very difficult to use. When you press broil for instance, the display says set. There is absolutely no indication of how to set. Therefore, no broil. The same thing happens when you try to use the clean function. It is virtually impossible to use the control panel; it is just too difficult. Therefore, most of the functions are not usable. The kicker though is that the handle comes off. During the extended warranty period, a technician came out and fixed it. The toughest part of this job is to get the oven door back on. I tried for 2 hours everything I could think of. Then, I got an idea to use Maytags live chat. They told me that I would have to call for service and pay for a service call to get the door back on.
