Because it is the high efficiency model, need to leave the lid open so interior will dry and not smell musty. Also, recommend using a washer cleaner such as Affresh or Tide tablet every now and then. But works great!

Had side-by-side refrigerator for over 12 months - Went completely dead - Would need $500 work!!!!! Just got less 6 months. Now need filter for water and air filter!!!!!! I wish I can give it less than one star!!!!

This washer is the worst piece of junk I have ever purchased. From day 1 it never cleaned my clothing. It was too much money to call a repairman so I have lived with it since October 13, 2013 and I have finally been able to buy a new washer this week. My husband would come home from work and ask me why I put dirty clothing in his drawers, he said his clothes stunk and were stained. This washer just did not clean the clothing. It didnt use water. I cannot say how many times I would open it after washing a load and the clothes were dry. It saved water alright, it didnt use any and it was installed properly. If you are going to purchase a Maytag Centennial, run. Dont walk. Run, fly, look the other way, just dont buy this HUNK OF JUNK! I cant even sell it, so we will sell it on eBay for parts just to recoup some of our hard earned money! MAYTAG YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF YOURSELF!

I have a Maytag microwave and stove in my condo kitchen. Both are about 4 years old. Ill never buy another Maytag appliance again. This stove had problems from day 1 and the support was dismal. I had [bought] an extended warranty, which covered nothing (I let it expire and didnt renew). The microwave handle came off in my hand a few months ago. I stuck it back on with gorilla glue. Now it is starting to shut itself off, as if it lost power then mysteriously turn itself back on. Im sure there will be a new microwave in my future and it wont be a Maytag.

Maytag French Door Fridge Model MFT267AEW10 - Not even 1 month out of warranty and the water line solenoid is leaking. It seems the water line installed at the factory was pulled so tightly that it has caused the solenoid inlet to start leaking. We really researched this refrigerator and thought we were buying the best. Not so, Maytag wont warranty it. The last purchase of Maytag I will ever make. We should have bought the Samsung but we were trying to buy American. Wont make that mistake again. Not a smart investment. Refrigerators are supposed to last a good ten years. How sad.

I bought a new washer and dryer from Clarks Appliance on North Monroe St.,Tallahassee, FL. I do not like the washer. It is a top loader and has a lock on the lid. The pause button is supposed to let you open and then is supposed to continue the wash. But it releases all the water and shuts down. I asked to return the washer because I have had it only three weeks. They wont take it back. So now I would like to trade or sell it.

Bought Maytag Bravos in 2010. It does not clean but worse than that it rips clothing (for example: loops off pants, holes in pjs, tons of ripped towels), so many items of clothing torn that I cant keep count. Today I had a pillow case ripped apart (see image). I have had four sheets ripped that I can no longer use. Maytag should have recalled this washing machine. I have the Maytag Bravos dryer also and the drum was on backwards on it when I bought it.

I waited my entire life to age 47 to purchase a brand new matching Maytag washer and dryer. I was thrilled. That was August of 2012. 3 years and two months later, the $800 dryer (MEDE201YW) loses the entire control panel and Maytag refuses to offer any assistance. I deliberately purchase Maytag with its stellar reputation, an American based company only to be more disappointed in the product and the company than in any other appliance Ive ever purchased.

I bought a fridge from Home Depot. It was on sale and not a Maytag. Somehow they delivered a Maytag. I am over-the-top happy with my fridge. It keep things cold. It is roomy, It has separate temp controls for the freezer and fridge. The bright LED lighting is wonderful. It is energy efficient. It is easy to move around when I need to clean under it. It was delivered right away.

My washing machine is 2 1/2 years old. It is not overused, just 2 people in the household. Maytag wanted to sell me a contract for $320, I declined. After research I see that this machine has many complaints against it. I bought Maytag because they never need repair. I would like Maytag to fix this machine without charge or recall the machine. From what I have read, these machines are defective. The electronics are failing at 2 to 3 years.

WARNING: Do not buy a Maytag washer, unless you get a very extended warranty. My wife and I had A GE, but it wore out after only a few years. So, we decided to go with a Maytag, since they always claimed that the Maytag repairman had nothing to do, which leads you to believe that they never need service. WELL, 3 years and 10 months and our Maytag blew its transmission. Oil is leaking from the seal, and its on borrowed time. So, off we go to get another washer. Just keep in mind that Maytag, and Whirlpool are one and the same company, so buyer beware. Oh, yeah, forgot to mention, there is a sticker on the washer stating that there is a 10 year warranty. That is only on the drum, which never goes bad, and the electric motor. NO OTHER PARTS are under warranty unless you participate in the extended warranty. My wife and I are going to go out and look at some used washers. There are places that refurbish them, and they have a better warranty, believe me. I am hoping that we can find one WITHOUT A FREAKING COMPUTER BOARD in it. Cost to fix my washer, according to the accredited Maytag repairman is $560.04. I think I can get a basic washer that wont stop working after a few years for less than that. Just in case you are wondering, its only my wife and I, we only do laundry a couple of times a week. At first my dishwasher worked great and I have always been really good about rinsing my dishes before I put them in. Starting a few months back I noticed my dishes were coming out gritty then all of a sudden it started backing up into our sink.

My model has 2 ovens which I love. A smaller one & a regular sized one. It also has a cooktop. The cooktop always has “marks” on it from the pots & pans. No matter how careful we are, the pots leave marks. We even bought new pots & they leave marks. Something that we do like is that 2 of the burners have “select a size” so these burners can be used for small or larger pots.

Had this front loading washer 13 months when the circuit board failed. I pitched a huge fit as Maytag wanted to charge me 75% of a new washer for the circuit board replacement. Fortunately they caved. I like how well it spins out and washes well. The door gasket is hard to keep clean. Has fresh setting so clothes do not get moldy if you leave them too long.

I had the exact same experience as the Tampa person with my Maytag dishwasher (Model: MDBTT60AWW). It was not cleaning the dishes, even when I thoroughly rinsed them. Plus, it started leaking midway through the cycle. Since the warranty was expired, I purchased an extended warranty in July 2012 for $296 (yes, in hindsight, I should have just bought a new appliance, not Maytag). I had 3 visits from 2 different technicians, both telling me the dishwasher did not leak. One telling me I was using the wrong kind of detergent and thats why dishes werent getting cleaned. The other telling me that there were too much suds and that could cause it to leak. So, I should pour a tablespoon of cooking oil (yes, cooking oil) in the dishwasher when it starts leaking and that will cut down the suds. I dont think so!Then, I found out a couple of weeks ago that this model was under a recall since 2010, not related to the leak at all. Yet, Maytag still sold me the extended warranty (wheres the ethics of that?). I requested a pro-rated refund of the balance on the warranty - and wouldnt you know that with the technicians service calls, the amount of time used on the warranty (6 months) plus an admin fee - I have used $296.48 of the warranty amount. It is almost to the exact penny of what I originally paid, so I will not be receiving any refund. They are only giving me a debit card of $150 or $250 once I buy a new Maytag to replace the recalled model. I do not want to continue down this frustrating path known as Maytag appliances.

This is a portable dishwasher. It does a great job washing the dishes. It’s fairly quiet and gets them very clean. It moves quite easily. The silverware tray is generous. The cycle takes a bit of time, but I don’t think it is excessive compared to other brands.

Very disappointed with my 2014 purchase of model MDB8959SBS3 dishwasher. In fact it is no longer in service. We used the dishwasher approximately twice a day. The wheels on the pull out racks starting falling apart in the first 6 months. Then the soap dispenser failed. It would not shut. We replaced both the wheels and the dispenser only to find ourselves with the exact same problems in a matter of months. My hubby got really good at fixing both of these items. The final straw was earlier this year as when we turned it on the motor/water pump started making a screeching sound. Never had to replace an appliance that was only four years old in my lifetime. Just very disappointed with the quality of Maytags dishwasher.

This is an awful product. I bought this product from Best Buy at the beginning of August 2018, and can no longer return it because it’s past their 14 day return policy. This washer does not wash clothes well. No matter what setting it’s on, clothes come out looking dirtier than prior to washing. Maytag should do what is right and refund customers for this worthless purchase.

I will never recommend these products to anyone! My dryer has caught on fire 4 times! Cleaned lint every time we use it! It gets caught in bottom of dryer! Just lucky enough it has not caught our house on fire it is contained in the bottom of dyer itself! Washer gets UL code all the time! Will not rinse! Have to open top and try to balance clothes out! Cant even wash a comforter alone and the same thing happens! They are junk!!! Would not recommend at all to anyone!

Bought Maytag Dishwasher in 2/2012. 10/2015 dishwasher stopped working. My husband tried to replace the motherboard, however, dishwasher completely done. Called Maytag and they said they would send a repair company at their expense, however, repair service called to verify appointment and told us how much it would cost us! Maytag had no intention of paying the bill even after they said they would. Called Maytag back and said the other customer service person was incorrect. Now, buying another dishwasher only after 3.5 years.

Bought a Maytag Bravos washer 21/2 years ago... already have to buy a new washer... not a Maytag!! It started with the ul message coming on. Never could do anything to get it to go off.... then started leaking water around the bottom... bearings went out... costs more to fix than buying a new washer which is what I DID. Not a Maytag.... thought Maytags were a great product. Believe me their repairmen are always busy, not just sitting around like in their commercial.... Never buy a Maytag appliance again.

7 years is all I got from these appliances. The Maytag Washer started making a horrible noise when washing then smoke and shut off. Dryer would not shut off. We have taken excellent care with these appliances servicing them as we had an extended warranty on both. They cost us over $600 for the washer and $589 for the dryer, a big rip off! I purchased them in hopes I would at least get 15-20 years of service as Maytag is to be one of the best. Do not purchase any products from this company, they also have sister companies. Make sure when you need an appliance, you ask who makes them.

Purchased an over the cooktop microwave 3 years ago, it came with a 20 year warranty. It stopped working and I promptly emailed Maytag customer service. It took them over 3 weeks before they responded. That is not acceptable. Did they think I had a back-up microwave to take its place until they finally got around to reply to me? Well we could not wait, and we just threw that piece of junk out and had it replaced with a competitors unit. We will never buy Maytag again and will inform anyone we know about the poor operation of Maytag products and lousy customer service. My suggestion to anyone considering Maytag products is to not waste your time and money and look to another manufacturer.

I had to rate at least a one star because there isn’t a negative to rate. We bought the Maytag mvwb955fc1. First off it doesn’t clean our clothes. I can not get stains out or whites bright. I don’t feel it uses enough water. I put a full load in and it only fills up less than half with water. I try half loads and still not clean. It’s always shutting off when I wash sheets. Indicating it’s off balance. Today I started it before work and the lid exploded. I don’t think I want to even replace it at all. This could have seriously hurt someone. Do not buy this washing machine. The dryer is great so far. I wish I could post a photo to show you all.

We purchased a Maytag Bravo washing machine and dryer from Home Depot so needless to say, it was not an inexpensive purchase. I absolutely will NEVER purchase another Maytag ANYTHING! The washer will not spin and when it does, it sounds like it is coming through the washroom doors. The heating element has had to be replaced in the dryer and has always had a sour smell inside. I have nothing nice to say about these products and would absolutely NOT recommend them to even my worst enemy!

The steam/heat produced by the oven has made the electronic (digital) control panel buckle. Yes! This is a thousand-dollar (plus) stove, and it has warped, through no fault of mine. When I want to cook something, I press the keypad to enter the number of cooking degrees that I want. The problem is, the control board is not working correctly. Regardless of my typing in 350, it will default to 100 degrees and stay at 100.As a teacher, I do not have a huge income. I was disgusted with my recent repair estimate of $80 for a service call, and a quote of over $600 for the replacement part, plus some not-yet-determined labor installation costs. Calling the 800 phone number for Maytag connected me to some local people working as independent and overpriced contractors in Los Angeles, California. They are not MAYTAG employees, so they are not well-informed about the product.I miss the time when manufacturers stood by their products, and had factory-trained and authorized employees available to make repairs. I bought this monster Maytag stove from Lowes. I am disgusted with both companies. I have gone online to research buying my own part and hiring a local yokel to put it in. Most everyone I have encountered has been a rip-off artist. I am teaching your kids and grand kids to read and write, and you dont want to help me repair my stove without price-gouging. I can use the burners to some stove-top cooking. Life has become a hassle without being able to cook.

Just like all the other reviews, 14 months after purchase and 2 months out of warranty the control panel on our Maytag Dishwasher stopped functioning. The “10 year warranty” is a joke a covers 3 things. We had model MDB4949SHX, $550 new.

Bought this washer and dryer 3 1/2 years ago mainly because of Maytag name and reputation. They were very expensive to purchase. The washer is a piece of junk 3 1/2 years old used for my wife and I and leaks oil all over the floor. Called repair man to come and look at it, wasnt here 5 minutes said transmission is shot. Cost over $400 to have it repaired. We are junking it and that will be the last Maytag product I ever own.

This review is pretty simple, if you have kids, do not buy this washer! I just went to the local wholesale guy after almost 8 months of using this POS, and spent $200 on a older agitator machine, after the first load my 7 year old close came clean of dirt! There is literally no water and the motion of the drum, it is almost impossible for this machine to clean clothes. I really am surprised that no one has started a class action. And to anyone saying the are hog farmers and work outside and get dirty? I would love to see it first hand. I am going to post on YouTube and show what this machine really does. Think about this before you buy, We all get hooked on how big it is, thinking you can do 4 loads at once, but trust me the low water thing is real! How do you clean clothes with no water! Sorry Maytag, my clothes used to come out clean with your old model, now I spend hours trying to figure out ways to get this washer to clean. Currently I am using the clean washer cycle for my comforters and then using the deep water cycle. So it takes about four hours to do a load of clothes. Thanks Maytag! Constantly does not clean clothes, always out of balance, codes constantly come up, only 2 1/2 years old and already rusting out. No matter what you do this washer does not want to work. Has special cycles for bulky loads but try to wash 7 towels and it will dance all over floor then shut down with an unbalanced code and you have to unplug to reset then wash towels again but not use spin and have to wring out towels by hand. I cannot believe the Maytag company has not recalled this very expensive pile of junk, and their service department is very rude and not helpful at all.Also as soon as you call an appliance repair company and tell them its a Maytag Bravos they say we do not fix those, do yourself a favor and junk it and buy any other brand. I have 3 kids now grown so we have bought about 5 washers over the years and when we saw that this was supposed to save water and energy and do bigger loads we were sold. Big mistake! Whatever you do never buy any appliance from Maytag. Products are garbage, service is nonexistent, and the cost will make you boil.

We bought a Maytag refrigerator serial # K11101146 and model # MBL2258XES1 on 5/7/2011. We started seeing puddles on the floor about a month ago coming from the bottom freezer. The warranty on the refrigerator was only good for a year. We investigated it further online and saw that a lot of other people were having the same problem. We found a video on Youtube on the solution, which was to tear the bottom frig apart (which is a pain and takes about 3 hours to complete) and to thaw out all the ice accumulated on the coils and run hot water down the drain until that thaws out. It makes a real mess. Now we see that this will probably have to be done again and again from others online who are having the same problem. We never had this problem with any of our refrigerators or any problem with them for that matter. Our last one was a 15-year old Amana and we wanted a more energy efficient refrigerator. We bought this one at Home Depot thinking that this one would last us for the rest of our lives. We are in our mid 60s now. This should not be happening at all especially as much as we paid for the refrigerator. I contacted Maytag and they more or less said, “Sorry about your luck.” I hope something can be done about this, especially for the amount of complaints filed. Unfortunately I did not take pictures but if it happens again, which I understand from other complaints that it will. Thank you.

Well, I thought I was buying quality products dishwasher and refrigerator and both are very disappointing. Of course the Maytag dishwasher (MBD7749AWB2) really upsets me since I just bought it in Aug of 2011. Now it will not finish a load of dishes and I did what the lady at Maytag told me. She said it was the control board. But it is not the control board. It is still working the same as it was. Now what should I do? Maytag Commercial # MVWB765FW0: My husband and I wanted to get rid of our GE front load. It was horrible. Even constant cleaning and leaving the door open all the time, our clothes still smelled like mildew and musty. My hubby wanted an LG and I said no way. As a little girl my mom had an old wringer washer and her first electric washer was a Maytag in the late 50s. She passed away in 2001 and in her lifetime she had 2 electric washing machines both were Maytags. They were so dependable and built to last so naturally I wanted a Maytag. Wrong! I am so disappointed. We purchased it in Sept of 2017 for $695. I was so excited the first time we used it. It was a little noisy, but living in the county and having a well we were glad it was an energy/water saver. The first couple of months it was so refreshing to have clothes that did not smell musty and mildewy. I noticed they were really wrinkled but I still iron anyway so it was not a big deal. However ironing over and over again on some items did not get rid of the wrinkles and the past 2 months I have been going thru lint rollers like crazy and it still does not come off. I have to use a slightly damp lint brush or go over the clothing with packing tape to get the lint off. It is horrible! I dont want my GE back but I dont want this one either! I wish I would have read reviews first and listened to my hubby. I wont ever have another Maytag and when this one goes I will certainly read reviews and go with something more dependable. Unfortunately for now we have wasted the money and it is ruining our clothes! I agree that we should all do the class action. There are just too many of us experiencing the same issues. Maytag should do right by the consumer! We have learned our lesson, review before you buy!

I purchased a Maytag model 4000 Front Loading washer in April 2010 and in May 2011, the tub bearings went out which is a $600 repair. Now in January of 2012, the tub bearings are going out again. Neither Lowes nor Maytag are willing to do anything to remedy the situation. Do not buy Maytag and do not buy from Lowes. Their major appliance buyer has to know about this and continues to retail a product not fit for its intended purpose.

After writing a polite but stern complaint to several of the executives at Maytag and Whirlpool we got a call from their executive assistant. She arranged to have a technician come out to our house and assess the installation. He found nothing wrong and Maytag replaced the control panel for free. The technician has seen numerous faulty electronic control panels, and not just with Maytag. He would not recommend a preferred make or model. He longed for the old mechanical timer switches, which we could no longer find in the newer models. With enough customer complaints maybe they will do something about the electronic control panel in the future.

I spent over $600 dollars on a Maytag Bravo 300 series. The washer has cost me over $300 to fix the latch and 2 months later, it will not spin. I would recommend to anyone not to buy a Maytag product! Garbage! I had a standard Kenmore washer that lasted over 10 years without a problem, paid $300 and still sold it for $100. The funny part is that I sold it to my brother who still uses it regularly and has not had any problems. So what is money worth? Your call.

I purchased a Maytag dishwasher model #MDB6769AWB2. After 1 year and 2 months of light use (just my wife and myself), the control panel went out on it! I called Maytag and because it was over 1 year old, they would not do anything about it! When you call their number listed in the owner’s manual, they thank you for calling their Customer Experience Center. This is an experience I can do without!

Some difficulty in cleaning the range around the burners when spatters occur, no matter what you use it is very tight to get around the actual burner to remove that residue. I have tried many approaches and several types of cleaners to get the residue marks off the brushed stainless surface.

Washer does not clean very well, clothes are left with spots. The water level is never comparable to the clothes thats in the machine, it causes me to lose a lot of water as well as detergent. This machine is the worst washer we have owned. Its also very noisy.

I have been washing clothes in different washers for almost 4 decades and never had a terrible washer until now. It has total control of the water level and it NEVER has enough water added. I have to add at least 2 full dish pans of water to every load. My washer does not allow you to pick your level because it does it automatically and no theres way to bypass this problem. It moans and groans for almost an hour in slow motion at its best. It should be illegal to sell such crap!If the intent was to save energy it fails when it runs twice as long as other washers. The instructions that are in the lid say that when you set it on deep water wash that it does not sense automatically-LIES! This lid must be generically made for other washers that they have because again, you cannot choose a water level. When a washer runs for almost an hour (this is not soak or extra rinse either) it is not saving energy over those that run for half that length of time. I wish I had returned it, but I listen to others who say that this is how washers are now. I still owe 150.00 on it and hate writing that check.

After having issues with bearings in a front load of another brand, we decided upon a top load Maytag. We have had it less than a year and we are not happy with the performance. We are using more detergent because the dispenser seems to be bottomless. Only the front of the little pull out drawer is visible and it never seems to reach the fill line when adding liquid detergent. There is no quick wash cycle. Not everything needs a cycle of nearly an hour or more. The spin cycle does not remove nearly as much dampness/water as our previous frontload. The drum is deep making it difficult to retrieve small items such as socks. My biggest disappointment is finding lint residue on the clothing and it remains even after an extra rinse. This is especially visible on dark clothing. Even the lint filter in our dryer fills up much more quickly than before. After researching, I found that others complained of this same problem.

We purchased a Maytag refrigerator and right away had a loud noise. Found out the ice maker was on even though we dont have it hooked up. Now our freezer isnt working. Food is defrosting and ruined. Bottom half of refrigerator is freezing everything. Our fruit and pop and water and lettuce all frozen. 4th time they came which is today. Now says our freon is low so well see what happens. The repairman was so rude he was yelling. We said our Popsicles turned to slush so he said, Dont buy any. He was so nasty. No more Maytag for us – waste of money. Even had the compressor replaced. Wasted 1100.00.

High dollar front load washer, less than 2 years old, just a waste of time & energy to run it, clothes come cleaner, if you leave them out in the rain! DONT buy Maytag, I never will again!! The Bravos XL MCT Maytag commercial Technology is not a good machine. I noticed it within the first few weeks. I called Conns to request technical support but the technician they sent didnt solve the problem. I also called Maytag, they also sent a technician. He told me the same thing as the other guy. To use good quality detergent and to make sure the clothes are neatly arrange around the drums walls. Nothing works. My clothes dont get clean because they dont get wet. Theres lots of residuals and wrinkles all over them. Also, the machine takes way too long to finish a load of clothes. I did tried to return it, but Conns wouldnt take it back. I dont recommend this washing machine at all!

We purchased the Maytag double oven 30 inch 5 burner, stainless steel, model MGT8885XS. Oven worked good for six weeks. The igniter broke in the bottom oven and when the third party non-Maytag repairman came out to fix it, he was unable to remove the bottom oven door. It is not flush and heat escapes when the bottom oven is on and it causes the top oven to get condensation. The repair man was directed from a technician from Whirlpool that he had to order a new seal and hinges. I dont want it fixed. I want a new one. I have called Customer Service for Whirlpool and the third party and the store in which I bought it from and everyone is pushing it off onto someone else. Customer service is poor and stated they will only fix the oven and will not send us a new oven. We sent our rebate in the mail which was to arrive within 8 weeks and we have yet to receive it. Very poor customer service. Glad I purchased the 4 year warranty. I will never buy Maytag again.

This is the worse washer... As many other have complained I have the same problems. This washer it will not fill with water ever. It doesn’t rinse clothes or clean them as I’m use to the old washers doing. From day one I noticed the water does not fill in the tub and wondered how can the clothes be getting cleaned properly. Getting a F51 code and after going on YouTube and checking for problems it seems to say the same code after it works for a bit. This is the worse appliance I have ever purchased. I am so frustrated and will never purchase a Maytag anything again. Never did in the past up to this one and never will after this one.

I had a stackable Maytag dryer that was bought in 2016 but only used during the summer of 2017. Last May the dryer stopped heating. I contacted Maytag and they sent a repairman a week or so later. He identified the problem in the electronic control and ordered a replacement part. The part came and he installed it a week later. The part was faulty and he ordered a replacement for the replacement. It arrived a week later and also did not work. He said he had problems with replacement parts but contacted the technical service department at Maytag as he did the first time. The technical service person said there were problems associated with new software being not compatible with dryers in the last year and we needed a new control panel. I contacted Maytag again waiting the usual hour to get through on the phone. They agreed to replace the parts for free and ordered a control panel that arrived a week later. The technician installed both parts but they did not work. I contacted Maytag again and after waiting the required hour talked to a person who said she would contact the department who could arrange a replacement. They contacted me a few days later and said they would supply a replacement for $250. This was delivered a week or so later but they did not have a stacking kit and returned to the delivery company with the dryer. A week later they returned with the stacking kit but forgot the dryer. A week later they returned with both the dryer and stacking kit but the installer (always a different person) said he was too big to get in the space behind the dryer and that the venting supplied was wrong.I bought new venting from Home Depot and a new installer arrived a week later. He said the new venting was not necessary and in fact wrong and installed the dryer. It ran but foolishly I did not check to see if it heated and neither did the installers or if they did took off without letting me know that the dryer, like the one that was replaced did not heat. I discovered this a couple of days later when I tried to use it. I contacted Maytag and they setup an appointment for a new service technician to visit. I contacted Maytag again today hoping to get some explanation of what might happen next or some explanation. They had no idea but did inform me that they would not replace the new dryer but would start repairs again.

I purchased a Maytag Dishwasher April 6th, 2011. Its only 3 years old and now the control panel isnt working properly. Specifically, the start button. Contacted Maytag Customer Care service and they could not help me other than charging $80.00 for the Maytag Man.. which by the way, we arent suppose to see because of their superb quality in appliances. So I have a repairman scheduled for next week. I am an highly dissatisfied customer because the dishwasher is used once a week for the 3 years Ive owned it. Worst washer ever. My clothes I have to wash a few times before they all get wet. Not a good washer at all. Has all the bells and whistles. Lets me know when the washer is done or its unbalanced... my washer is crap. Ive had it maybe a year now. I now have to buy another one. Why? I purchased the Maytag dishwasher a little over two years ago (MDB6759AWQ0). This was the first Maytag product I bought and it is definitely the last one! It was more expensive, but because of Maytags commercials on what good products they had, I thought it would last longer and work better. Boy, was I wrong. When it was installed, it was loud. I brought this to the attention of Maytag. I was told there was nothing that they could do. Repair people were sent to my home several times to see if the noise could be fixed and unfortunately, it could not. This is the loudest dishwasher that I have ever had. I should have stayed with the same brand that was over 10 years old that died! Now the control panel blew out and will cost over $300 to have it fixed. After reviewing the numerous complaints that you have on your dishwasher with the control panels not working, I would think Maytag would be more financially responsible in helping the people that have your products that no longer work after being less than three years old. Just a heads up, Maytag, I will be replacing instead of fixing and not with another Maytag product!

We bought what was supposed to be the top of the line Maytag dishwasher as part of a kitchen remodel in 2011. Well tonight it has quit working for the 3rd time! I think this is the last straw for us! Tired of spending all this money having it fixed. We also bought a Maytag microwave at the same time that has been nothing but trouble from day 1, but not as bad as the dishwasher. I can promise you we will never buy another Maytag product ever. Heck at this point, I would not accept a free Maytag machine of any kind! Stay away from Maytag!! Just to be more specific, the first time the dishwasher quit it was the board and cost us half as much as the dishwasher. I see lots of mentions of boards going out early.

Maytag Bravos MVWB725BW - Purchased this washer last year and have been very unhappy with the way it washes. It is extremely harsh in the way the agitator moves the clothes. Because it has a low water level the clothes take quite a beating in the washing process. This is confirmed when I remove the clothes from the dryer and proceed to clean the lint filter. The filter is constantly full of lint, even after drying clothes that have been washed numerous times before. Additionally, the clothes, even though being put in evenly, end up bunching together.

The washer that always needs repair! My first problem with my Maytag washer was that the sensor needed replacing (wont wash or spin). Since then I have had the sensor replaced and motor replaced. Today, I had to call for a service call, and was told that I have to wait over a week! Bad customer service!

Purchased Maytag 3000 series washer and dryer in June 2009. Like many other reviews, the washer is making a terrible loud noise during the spin cycle. I contacted Maytag customer service and was told wait time is 10 minutes and opted for the call back option. Received a call back from an agent located in Tennessee, United States and he checked for recalls or projects and found nothing. Offered a technician call in my area for $112.00 for 30 minutes to diagnose the problem. I told him that if he checked on the reviews, he will see many regarding this problem and a bearing issue at a cost of up to $700.00. The Maytag repairman is not only lonely but out of business and Whirlpool bought them out. I would never again purchase Maytag or Whirlpool products. We are seniors and do not abuse our appliances and why do they not last at least 15 years. Talk about disposal washer machines, who can afford to purchase them every few years. The washer sounds like a jet going through our house when it is in the spin cycle.

This is the 3rd time my Maytag refrigerator has gone out on me and its only 7 years old! Its always the same thing, my refrigerator side starts getting warmer and warmer while the freezer starts forming crystallized ice. Both times its broken down in the past it has been the defrost timer. One service man said Maytag is not the reliable company it used to be and I would be better off buying a brand from Sears (Whirlpool or Kenmore) cant remember. Anyway, each of those services was close to $300 and now Im faced with another service call. We paid $2,800 for a refrigerator we thought would last decades. Well never buy Maytag again! I wish Maytag would own up to its cheap parts and send replacements to its customers with instructions on how to install!

Not only does the water not drain properly causing an insane amount of stench of moldy water being trapped, but this washer has had nothing but problems since we got it. Error code after error code, problem after problem. So disappointed. My husband wanted an LG and I said it had to be Maytag because Maytag was the best. Thanks for making me a liar Maytag!

I bought a new Maytag washer two and half years ago. One of the new HE (High efficiency) models. Clothes do not get washed clean. But not only that, now its not washing at all. My previous machine was a Maytag...Had it for 22+ yrs. I guess Maytag quality is no longer what it used to be. Disappointed customer!

Please save your money and do not purchase a the Bravos XL MCT Washer and Dryer! I am sickened by the fact that I spent $1,800 on the biggest pieces of junk there ever was. Youd think a company like Maytag would be able to build a product that worked properly. We are getting ready for our FIFTH visit by a service repair company that will only plug in their computers and say nothing is wrong. Well here is what is wrong: Washer does not rinse all of the soap and I have many, MANY, pieces of dark clothing that are ruined because of the white streaks all over. I have done EVERYTHING the service guys have said to do; use less soap; use the deep water wash cycle, etc. etc. There are only two of us in the household so my average load size fills the EXTRA LARGE drum maybe half full so all their advice hasnt worked. It does not rinse the water out of a load of towels (remember there are only two us so not that many towels) and I have to run it through a rinse and spin cycle. Waste of time, energy, AND money. I washed a single coverlet and had to run it through a rinse and spin cycle twice to get the water out! If you use the bedding cycle, it runs for 90 minutes and still doesnt spin all the water out! The dryer is not better either. On average, it takes one hour and ten minutes to dry 3 bath towels, a couple of hand towels and a wash cloth. One of the service people that came out, checked our dryer vent and said everything was hooked up correctly. Talk about a waste of energy!! I would do anything to get rid of these pieces of junk but we spent so much money on them Im stuck until I win the lotto or something! I cannot stress enough that you will be wasting your money if you buy any washer and/or dryer product from Maytag! Believe me, I regret it every day!

OK, LAWYERS -- Where are you?!! You have a lot of very unhappy people who feel they have been justifiably TAKEN! Whirlpool needs to replace these refrigerators with another brand! We bought same bottom freezer Maytag refrigerator in 2010. Luckily, which we dont usually do, we purchased a five year warranty plan. Within six months we noticed the rubber seal on our refrigerator on the french door part was turning yellow and then getting darker. We feared something was burning the rubber. A Maytag repairman looked at it, called Whirlpool, told them that there werent enough parts to fix this refrigerator. Whirlpool asked him what they should do and he told him it should be taken out on the front lawn and burned (yeah for that repairman)!! Whirlpool agreed to replace the refrigerator with one, very similar but a new model #. Thank heavens, after our insistence, the warranty was extended to the new one. Now after about three years, we are having the same problems that all of you are having with the next one.. Our Home Owners insurance adjuster just gave us a settlement to have all the ceramic tiles removed, which are cracked in almost two dozen places, and whole floor replaced (minus our $1,000 deductible). The floor was put in new three years ago. The refrigerator repairman is next to come out. From what I have just read about all the complaints on this refrigerator, NOTHING is going to fix this problem short of replacing it at our expense. My advise to everyone --- FIGHT THIS. Write to Whirlpool (not Maytag -- Whirlpool owns it), and blast them over and over with letters and complaints and threats of lawsuits. Why should we be taken for that amount of money while Whirlpool does nothing but keep it. A class action suit is badly needed. Big corporations should not be able to take people over like this and get away with it. If it takes a lawyer willing to take on a class action suit, this is it! In the meantime, bombard Whirlpool with letters and dont stop! It takes persistence, but in the end -- most of the time, we will prevail. Big companies hope we will give up and go away. They count on it. Dont let them win!!! I have had a Maytag washer and dryer for twenty years with no problems. Problem is that Maytag doesnt exist anymore -- who is making this....?

Oven racks falling down and theres appears to be no solution because the interior liner of the oven has warped. The 3rd party repair guys tell me the interior liner needs to be replaced, its not worth the repair cost, Im better off shopping for a new set. Its so unfortunately that this happened (we moved into this house with existing appliances that we cannot use...) and it seems to be a common problem, yet Maytag claims they have NOT received any complaints about this.

The Maytag Bravos XL low water washing machine is very disappointing. About 20% of the time it needs a second rinse because there isnt enough water released to rinse clothing. Forget washing anything large. It just doesnt do it. Waste of money. The matching dryer is just fine - no complaints.

Brand new top of the line top loader washer. Lid locked mid cycle and couldn’t open it. Called Maytag. Sent a repairman out to fix. Three trips later, 5 parts, and over four months later, still broken. Unable to use washing machine. Been going to laundromat to do laundry. When speaking with Maytag, all you get is a sorry. Now I’m waiting on another part and then schedule another appointment to have guy come install. Maytag would rather replace every part, one at a time, than send a new washer. It is beyond ridiculous for a new washer to have to have all of its parts replaced. It’s a hunk of junk and Maytag will not stand by their product. Worthless company. Will NEVER buy another product from them. Their washer and their service is so far below standards, it’s criminal.

I would say you have plenty of options when choosing a color for your dishwasher. You can choose black or stainless. Try one today you wont be disappointed. I load plenty of dishes into the space. It has extra pockets for little things and it has plenty of hooks and hangers to use for bigger cycles. Kenmore Dishwasher runs great. Very efficient and cleans the tough stains better than any dishwasher Ive ever used. I would recommend this to anyone looking to buy a dishwasher. Of all the dishwashers I researched at Lowes and Home Depot and Sears and Ace and other local stores, the Maytag was the lowest price with all the features I wanted.

I purchased an automatic dishwasher for $660.00 on or about Aug of 2007 (Mod #MDB6759AWS3 ser # NY3417703). It was a model about to be discontinued however still carried the full one year warranty. After install one year and 28 days it failed. The tech described a faulty computer board and a replacement cost of $885.00, a cost of $215.00 more than it originally cost!! They did offer a warranty of one year after we installed the new part but at a cost of $215.00 more than we originally paid! Maytag promotes their brand as reliable. However I dispute this claim.

I had a Maytag dishwasher that I purchased around 2005. I had no issues with it at all. Then, I got a notice that it was being recalled due to a fire hazard. My options were to either get a repairman to come out and fix it, or get a credit towards a purchase of a new dishwasher. I chose the second option. Even after getting a credit, the purchase cost was way more than my original dishwasher. I purchased the new dishwasher in June of 2010. Last spring (May 2012), I noticed a gap in my hardwood floors around the sink. A flooring rep looked around and said he would bet that theres a leak either at the sink or the dishwasher. I took off the front kick-plate to the dishwasher and discovered a wet spot. I monitored that area and discovered the leak coming from under the dishwasher (around the float switch). It wouldnt leak all the time, but every now and then, it would leak half to a full cup of water. I had the hardwood floor fixed (cost $350). At the same time, I schedule a service repair through Maytag. They sent a rep from a local repair company (Convenient Appliance Service, Inc.). The service rep couldnt identify the cause of the leak but said it was more than likely the seal around the door. So, I paid another $160 to get the repair done. I monitored the leak for a week and had no problems, so I put the kick-plate back on. In September 2012, I noticed a wet spot in front of the dishwasher. I took off the kick-plate and discovered that the dishwasher was leaking again. This time the leak was worse. It would leak 1 to 2 cups of water during a wash cycle. I called the repair company and they came out free of charge to take a look at it. The service rep said the float switch had gunk build up in it. He cleaned it out and said that should fix the problem. I monitored the area for 2 weeks and everything seemed to be fine. Last week (March 2013), I noticed some gaps in the hardwood flooring around the sink and dishwasher. I pulled off the kick-plate and discovered a wet spot. I ran the dishwasher and discovered that it leaked a ton of water (over 4 cups). I contacted the repair company that came out last time, and they said they would have to charge me $100 plus to come out and take a look at the problem. The rep recommended contacting Maytag. I contacted Maytag and they said I would either have to pay $129 for a service call (not including cost for parts), or $269 to get covered under their Repair Plus 1 program (everythings covered and it adds 1 year of warranty my dishwasher). I asked at what point Maytag would replace a dishwasher. The rep said when it is deemed unfixable. Other than that, they just keep coming out if I have issues. Part of me thought I need to cut my losses and just rip out the dishwasher and get a new one (cost somewhere around $700). But I went with the Repair Plus 1 program in hopes that they can resolve the issue. But Im definitely going to have to get the hardwoods ripped out again. It looks worse than before. It’s probably going to run another $500.

Purchased the Maytag Bravos upon recommendations from Lowes and Home Depot to replace a 20-year Kenmore that finally died. Since the Maytag brand was always considered to be the top of the line washers, we purchased the pair. About a week ago during the spin cycle I thought that a 747 was taking off in our laundry room. Called a local appliance repair service who said that there had been numerous issues with the Bravos series and to call Maytag to inquire about a recall. After 45 minutes on the phone with a very sweet naive young lady, she told me that the new models did indeed have a 10-year limited warranty on parts. However my 3-1/2 year old washer was not grandfathered into the warranty. I could (a) pay the $150 service charge to have someone come to inspect it or (b) buy a new one. I will be purchasing a new one but it will not be a Maytag or Whirlpool product. Now we know why the commercial for the Maytag repairman is not running... Hes now very busy working on their broken products.

My Maytag washer MVWB400VQ was purchased four years ago and was used by two people. It started making a sound like an airplane taking off and is very loud. We called a service technician who said the outer tub was gone. I called Maytag to see if there was a recall or warranty of some kind. At that point I was told they do have a warranty but could not sell it to me because I had already had someone diagnose the issue. I paid $800 for the machine and the difference between the repair and the warranty was $40, so I thought it would be smarter to have some type of coverage if anything else went wrong. Nope they will not give you the coverage. The moral of the story is they really do not want to provide customer service unless you are unaware of the actual repairs needed so they can get more $$ from you.

We bought a Maytag refrigerator two years ago with the front french doors and bottom pull out drawer. We chose Maytag because we thought it was a name we could trust, a good quality merchandise. However, in the last two months, we started having problems when the fridge wouldnt stay cold, the freezer worked fine. We removed everything from the freezer and my husband found the freezer needed defrosting as the back of the unit was a solid sheet of ice. It took hours to defrost and we thought that we had the problem taken care of.. and that we wouldnt have to worry about this happening again. However, we have now had to do this three times in the last two months!! I love the style of this fridge..but am getting SO ANNOYED with having to rip everything out of the freezer and spending HOURS to defrost it! I have NEVER had this problem with any other fridge!! Im ready to replace it, but weve only had it for two years, and I shouldnt have to be spending a fortune on ANOTHER fridge after TWO years!!

I bought a Maytag side by side fridge freezer in 2010 at a cost of £2000. Having come back from a week away it had entirely defrosted spoiling all the contents. An engineer came to look at it but said the fault was unrepairable so he wrote it off. Maytag (Whirlpool) think that it is perfectly ok for a 5 year old fridge freezer costing two grand should now pack up. I, on the other hand, do not... They offered me £700 of the cost of a new Maytag. Joy! I thought. However, this one does not make ice or have chilled water (the principal reason for buying Maytag in the first place). I was then told that this was the ONLY fridge freezer in the entire Maytag or Whirlpool range. Is there nothing else you can do to help? I pleaded. No was the reply. The moral of this story is going posh on an American Fridge freezer is not guarantee that you will get the after sales service that the price would suggest.

Purchased refrigerator model # MFT2976AEMOO September 2013. First repair was 1 month after purchase. From compressor to moisture build up inside fridge. 7 repairs in the first year. Customer service disgusting. They simply dont care, and do not back their products. Work time lost waiting at home for repairs. Service men come and always have to order parts, which means 2 service calls for each problem. Our service man broke one of the drawers when removing it to do a repair which meant another visit for that replacement part. Continued to have more problems when warranty was done. Just replaced my 3 year old fridge. Could not afford to keep it any longer. Have never been more disappointed with any appliance that I have bought. Will never buy MAYTAG again. Product is inferior.

I have a top load commercial tech washer with an agitator that is brand new as of September 2019. I have done all of the troubleshooting suggestions and nothing works. I use 1 tsp of liquid cold water detergent, deep fill, extra rinse, and clear liquid oxi and my darks still come out with white stains. I have had a Maytag tech check out the machine and it checks out without issues. I would never recommend this product to anyone!

I purchase the Maytag Bravos washer & dryer set 3 1/2 years ago brand new. I figured being a Maytag it would last for a long time but nope I was wrong??? I will never buy another Maytag product as long as I live and I will tell all my friends and family not to purchase a Maytag product also!

I have purchased the Bravo washer less than 2 years ago. Within one year the mother board went. They replaced it because it was less than a year. Here I am not a year later and the mother board went again. It’s not under warranty so this time its on me. I call and all they say is “there is nothing saying they are having any problems with this.” Now I happen to know my own sister bought the same washer one month before I did. She was also told it was her mother board. It was almost as much to replace than to buy a new washer and by the way she is the who recommend the product to me, so I know she called Maytag and complained so if 2 of us in the same family had an issue I find it hard to believe no one else did. You call and they could care less. I would recommend never to purchase Maytag AGAIN!

In my owners manual, the description to replace the oven light shows a simple process of removing a glass bulb cover within the oven itself and then unscrewing the ordinary looking light bulb. However, Maytag made a design change and now uses a complete unit that combines the bulb, the glass cover and the bulb holder. This requires you to pull the stove out from the wall, open up the back of the oven, bend some retaining tabs around the light unit and then remove the whole unit.The killer is, Maytag has made this disgusting, usurious design change in order to force you to pay over $50 US plus taxes and shipping for the replacement unit, instead of $6 CDN ($4.50 US) for a light bulb that you can buy anywhere and can easily change yourself in a couple of minutes within the oven itself. But now you will probably have to call in a repair guy to make this replacement for you. When manufacturers start doing things like that, its time to stop buying their products. I will certainly never use Maytag again, and Ill make sure any other oven manufacturer Ill consider is not doing anything similar.

This machine does a great job at cleaning clothes. The clothes are always great in color, and removal of removable spots. The cycles are not too long and the machine is not noisy. Machine is nice looking and water cycles can be normal or large.

I could not get parts for Maytag Model MHWE200XW00 Type 832A as the Whirlpool does not provide after sales service. I purchased the new washer in 2010 and lasted for just 4 years. I believe they guarantee supply of spare parts (Inner Basket, Outer Tub and Rubber Boot) for 10 years and more.

The way the outlet line and pump are set up, the Maytag Bravos does not remove all water from the bottom leaving about 2-3 inches. Even following the monthly cleaning and care has not stopped the inside of the tub from producing MOLD. When I contact Maytag there was nothing they could do about this problem. At this point my washer is only a few years old. I attempted to clean it myself but the drum would not break free. My options are, deal with the smell of mold and mildew, Pay Maytag $250 to come out and clean it (this would need to be done every 1-2 years) or buy a new washer. NOTE: I paid about $550 for this one. I have run a few clean cycles with bleach, but I think at this point the mold has embedded itself into the plastic tub.

Mine is the Chrome Maytag four-burner cooktop model. About $700. I installed it with ease. After two years there are only one or two slight scratches. It sees full meals for two cooked daily. The grate is first class and looks new, the top itself is easy to clean with a damp soapy cloth and mineral oil. There is easily enough BTU power for any size of pro pan. The igniters are healthy and fine and a repair would be easy.

After 30 months of light use.... two adults in the house, the top of the machine at the ports that allow adding fabric softener and bleach have rusted in a severe way. The machine is rusting away and Maytag customer service will say nothing except, it is out of warranty. I am very sad that I purchased a $719 washer that is falling apart with scant use.... Maytag no longer stands behind the product and I will never buy another one of their appliances again!

We purchased a washer and dryer two years ago. The washer got louder and louder until we realized something was wrong and we called to get it fixed. Luckily, that was within the time of the warranty. The noise, however, began getting louder and louder within a very short time. Maytag refused to fix it again. Now, the washer sounds like a jet engine and wont drain the water at all.

My fiancee and I purchased a Maytag washing machine from our local Sears. We got it home and it worked fine, but after the first month it wasnt switching over from cycle to cycle. We called Sears and they stated that they didnt provide service to the washing machines, so we would have to call Maytag. We called Maytag and they sent servicemen from B & B Appliance to our home. We were told that they needed to order a piece and would be back at another time to fix the washing machine. They came back and said it was fixed. I went to start a load of laundry the following morning and the basement flooded. The hose had become dislodged when they were working on it. To add insult to injury, the washing machine was still broken. I called Maytag to request a different service company come to our home. Maytag said that they couldnt send a different company. They also couldnt replace our still broken washing machine and they could not accept a return. At this point we are out an almost $800 for the washing machine, over $5000 (which we have submitted to insurance) for the damage to our home, and almost $600 for a WORKING washing machine that was a different brand. We will never use Maytag ever again.

Maytag is a product that I would buy any time. Even uses it well last for a long time. If you want to spend money this is a good investment for your kitchen and as for your laundry get the washer and dryer. You do get your moneys worth with Maytag.

Run away from this piece of junk machine AND company as fast as you can! I bought this set Oct 12 and by March 14 it was grinding/whining during the agitation cycle. I have been in contact through various forms with Maytag and they do not care! They first contacted me to review them and when I reviewed them very unfavorably they emailed me and this is what they said: Our staff has read your review and values your contribution even though it did not meet all our website guidelines. Thanks for sharing, and we hope to publish next time! All I did was say exactly what happened.After that I went to their website to see what kind of reviews they were getting and lo and behold their rating is 4.4 out of 5. Of course it is when you simply cherry pick the best and plant a few lesser rated ones. I simply do not have the funds to replace what I thought was a quality product, nor am I sure I want to repair it as it doesnt clean clothes. I hate having been placed in this predicament by a greedy, slimy corporation whose only interest in me is profits.

We have had this dishwasher [Model MDB7749SBW2] for about 1 1/2 years now, and gave had a lot of trouble with it. It will run a cycle on its own without anyone even touching a button. My current problem is the start button wont work. I reset the dishwasher by pushing the series of buttons I found online to do a reset, and the start light lit up, but after the reset cycle was finished I tried to run a wash cycle and couldnt get the start button to do anything. Ive seen a lot of reviews online on this being common with Maytag brand dishwashers this old. I will NEVER buy a Maytag product again nor would I recommend it to anyone as a good product. I am very frustrated and disappointed in Maytag!!!

The control panel died on this dishwasher (MDB7749) after only 2.5 years of light use. I was quoted about $250.00 plus labor to have the panel replaced. I will not fork over several hundred dollars for a defective panel, especially since many others have complained about repeated failures and known issues with the control panel. No more Maytag products for me. I plan to purchase a Bosch to replace it.

The oven range (model number mgr8772wb) will not heat to proper temperature. It runs 35 degrees cold even after the built-in adjustment of 30 degrees. the repairman said it was just a cold-natured oven and we had to get used to it. So if a recipe calls for 400 degrees, you must preheat to 430 degrees. As much as this thing cost, it should cook properly. I must rethink Maytags reputation. I thought they were the best. Wrong.

I bought a Maytag dishwasher in 2019 in Home Depot for my new home. The dishwasher stopped washing dishes after two years and 6 months. The price of the new machine was 700$ and I did not buy the extended warranty. The trouble is circulation pump, that cost to install the new one from local service would be about 350$ plus the new pump 150$. I consider quality is very poor if the new dishwasher works only two years and then it is better to buy a new item than fix the old one. Never never buy Maytag production.

First the dishwasher - Control board no longer works. Seen many people with same problem. Dishwasher sitting there useless since cant afford to replace. Will cost as much as the purchase. Stove has defect between glass on oven door. Aqua clean feature is a farce and I feel vent at bottom of oven is asking for a disaster if any grease should spill in there. Maytag will not honor or admit any defects.

We purchased a Maytag Jetclean Plus Dishwasher in June 2013. It worked well enough initially. We bought it because it had a large capacity and built in disposal. By August 2014, just after the warranty expired, the front panel gave out. To have someone even look at it cost $150. By following instructions from internet discussion groups by other people facing similar issues, we were able to get it to run in random mode. Programs were no longer indicated or selectable but dishes generally still got cleaned. Two months later a wheel fell off the premium rack glides. Finally after about 2 years of use, the dishwasher finally gave up altogether. At this point the stainless steel tub is no longer stainless. The entire device has worn poorly and looks shoddily made. This is the worst use of $900 I have ever made, and what tweaks me the most is Maytags attitude and their ludicrous warranty that barely lasts out the weakest link in the device.

Love my Maytag washer! It is great to have a clear lid so I can see the clothes being washed. Not only the features, it really cleans my clothes. I was surprised at the stains that are removed just from washing them!

I had no issues with my washer. The best thing I ever did was stop using Sabrina softener in it and made the switch to vinegar. The worst thing I ever did was think that paying $900+ for a nice washer would get me more than a year! What a joke! I started noticing small leaks when my hardwood floors started lifting and once my husband looked into this, we realized there is no seal around the top of the drum. So there is no barrier between the drum and your floors basically. Then one day we had a flood. As we watched the cycle run, we noticed that when the water was filling into the bleach and fabric softener compartments it was coming in at such a high rate, it was spilling over the sides down to the floor. So we went to the internet and found a few complaints about this, but no answers. Thankfully we found one guy who had the exact same problem and even had pictures that matched ours. Luckily a real appliance tech answered him and he couldnt even figure it out but took a guess at what I might be: the water inlet valve. But that was just a guess. So we called around to find the part and talked with a few sales persons. One was so nice to even ask a technician standing in line. And he said that there was no way this could be it. But then we decided to take a gamble. We also noticed that both compartments were filling up at the same time, but the bleach should fill during the wash cycle and the fabric softener during the rinse cycle. So it was either the $104 water inlet valve. Or the $200+ circuit board. These are my options after already spending $900+.. So we went with the valve and thank goodness it worked!!!! It is so disappointing that after a short time, this washer broke and cause more damage to my floors. It is an awful design. I bought myself the nicest front loaders for my first house. When that broke 7 years later, I bought this washer because I liked the no agitator design without the smell of a front loader. Now when this one breaks again, Im not buying another HE machine. The majority of people I talked with today said that these HE machines are breaking down faster and faster as the get better and better. I am so beyond disappointed, angry and in shock that this washer failed in less than a year and a half time. My hope is that this review will give the answers we couldnt find without paying an arm and a leg. Is this what passes for quality these days???

We bought this washer in February of 2010. We had the pump replaced under warranty in January of 2011, and the pump appeared to have a hole in it from some type of hard object that had gotten inside the pump and damaged it. We then replaced the L-shaped hose between the tank and the pump because it had a small hole in it - very thin rubber. Last week, the washer was leaking again and the service technician said that the pump housing was cracked due to a penny rattling around inside the pump.This washer performs very well when it is working but it seems to be too fragile to handle on normal usage. The Whirlpool washer we replaced with this one ran for 23 years with no problems before it finally went out. From all appearances, it seems that every failure we have had with this washer has been due to damage from foreign objects getting trapped in the pump. Is there no screening mechanism to prevent hard objects from entering the pump? This seems to be a design flaw more than anything.

I remodeled my kitchen, put in all new Maytag Almond appliances washer, dryer, stove, refrigerator, dishwasher and microwave oven. I was pleased with everything but the stove. The stove was $800.00. The oven caught fire three times and smoked up my house. I replaced the stove with another brand, cheaper and safer. I moved to a new house, five years later, bought all Maytag appliances stainless steel. The hinge on the deli tray broke, the inside is thin plastic, not covered in extended warranty. The stove caught fire (I didnt learn the first time around)! The microwave has a thin, bendable, plastic rack, the handle snapped right off. I cant buy a handle separate from the door. Now the microwave wont heat! My dishwasher was recalled. The heating element could have caused a fire! Nothing that breaks or malfunctions is covered by warranty. Who needs to pay for a warranty too and get no parts or service rendered! I will buy all new appliances and when I do, it wont be anything Maytag makes and none of their other brands! This stuff is very expensive garbage! Somebody please initiate a class action suit!

We have had this washer/dryer stack up for about 2 years now. Not long after it was purchased from Best Buy, it started smelling like mold, even though we were doing everything possible to keep it ventilated. Best Buy employee said that service was not covered by the warranty that we purchased, so they suggested we YOUTUBE some ideas on how to get rid of the smell. They said it was a common complaint for front load washers. We have tried Affresh, hot water and bleach, hot water with vinegar and lavender, etc. Nothing is working. There is mold on the plastic inside the washer door and the stench is horrible now. You can smell it when you walk into our home. I believe that stench is the reason we are all having respiratory problems, allergies, etc. I just dont know what to do anymore. Really frustrating!! These appliances cost a lot of money.

I bought a Maytag dishwasher, model # MDB7749AWW1, in April 2011 and the control panel just stopped working. Of course, Im outside the one-year warranty, but judging from the other reviews on this site, that doesnt really matter. A $500 dishwasher should last more than 17 months! I agree with the other consumers. The control panel on these dishwashers should be recalled. Obviously, its defective. Instead, Im being told I can either pay $250 for the repair plus a one-year warranty or $130 plus parts to cover a onetime fix. Ridiculous.

Rust on two year old Maytag Bravos washing machine - I noticed some rust along the inside lip of the washing machine lid and along the seam near the top of the machine about a week ago. I contacted Sears where we had purchased an extended service agreement. However, the agreement does not cover rust. I contacted Maytag and there is nothing that they can do either. The machine is kept inside the house in the laundry area. We have had two washers in the past 21 years that my husband and I have lived at this house that were much less expensive than the Maytag Bravo. They did not rust. This will be the last Maytag product we will purchase.

I bought a new Maytag French door refrigerator a few years ago and have been disappointed ever since. The quality is second rate and now the ice maker has failed. The product looks good but performs poorly. Buy a more quality foreign made product instead. Before this I had an LG which was quieter and never had a problem after 10 years.

My washer has always had an odor, and I clean the gasket. It gets mold on the gasket and smells horrible! Now for my dryer, it has 3 baffles inside that helps turn and fluff the clothes, and 2 of mine have broke off. And that results in clothes that look like they have been in the dryer for weeks. And I take them out as soon as they are done drying.
