We purchased our Maytag through Sears. We wanted a very basic machine, and thats what we found at Sears, yay! Fast forward eight years and it suddenly quit agitating. We tried fixing it ourselves by replacing a plastic gear part, which, later on our appliance technician said was totally logical, but it still wouldnt work. We got our appliance repairman out here and he took it into the shop and fixed the problem, which turned out to be part of the motor or something like that. The thing that bothers me the most is that he asked if we had bought a refurbished washer, but we hadnt, it was brand new. He gave us a part that was swapped out that wasnt made for the machine and also said the safety guard for the cord was missing. This keeps it from pulling out of the machine in case it gets jerked. I feel deceived and just wanted to vent because there really isnt anything I can do about it now. Buyer beware, yes, but I know we have to be our own technician sleuths to be sure were getting what we paid for?

Our Maytag Bravos Quiet Series 300 is anything but quiet. Within two years of purchasing it, we now hear an F18 jet fighter taking off from our laundry room. Neighbors near and far come running to avoid getting injured when the spin cycle kicks into after burner. Seriously though, this looked to be a nice machine and operated flawlessly until a month ago when the spin cycle started sounding like a jet fighter taking off. I am handy and often fix appliances and things around the house. From reading reviews here on Consumer Affairs and other places, I am finding that the noise problems are more common than not. Investing $400+ into a replacement tub/bearing set would further support Whirlpool/Maytag and the sucking sound they make to get at my wallet. From what I have read, I am likely to have more problems after fixing this one (it will likely break again). I am going to quit while I am ahead and purchase a new washer. Whirlpool/Maytag will never see my business again. Its ludicrous to have an expensive appliance like a washer only last two years. BTW, I just spent $200 to replace the control panel on my 4-year old Maytag dishwasher. A cheap and horrible design. The part probably cost $10 to make. BOHICA. (bend over, here it comes again). FYI: Whirlpool owns and sells its products under several other appliance names. Names that include, Kenmore (yes, Sears), Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Gladiator GarageWorks, Inglis, Estate, Brastemp, Bauknecht and Consul (Wikipedia source). Like a Lotto Scratcher, peel the Whirlpool or Maytag name sticker off and underneath you will find the real name... CRAP! Its sad to think that you have to purchase products made in Korea to get quality. Very sad.

I purchased a Maytag Washer Bravos Quiet series 300 & a Dryer Bravos Quiet series 400 w/ steam in June 2009 from Lowes. I cant express my dissatisfaction in strong enough language with these products. From the time they were installed there were problems.The Bravos series 300 washer: Quiet? Never. The thing sounds like a huge motor whirring around my laundry room. Several times, a coin got stuck in the motor and created a clanking sound that had to be fixed. Ive never had a washer that allowed coins to enter the motor. I cant close the lid on the washer until the whole unit is dry because of the mold problem. I dont feel the washer really gets clothes clean. When we purchased the unit, the Lowes salesman stressed that we could fit a large bedspread into the oversized tub and get it clean. This didnt turn out to be true. The clothes tangle terribly and the unit is off-balance with any kind of a larger load. Ive been forced to purchase the extended warranty because of the complete & total lack of confidence I have in this awful washer (same goes with the dryer).The Bravos series 400 Dryer: This unit never dries. All the setting that should be used with the sensor never work which causes a huge problem. I start out on a particular setting with a stated time limit say, for instance 45 minutes. 45 minutes later, I look at the dryer and theres 1 hr of time still left to go! The dryer just runs on and on. Ive taken to using only the timed dry and I start out at 1 hr, then check it every 10 minutes or so. This is very hard on the fabrics and has caused the useful life of my clothes to be greatly diminished. Also, the stupid thing will start to beep and I cant figure out why. Using this dryer has increased the electricity costs to us.I cant stress enough to STAY away from these products. I purchased Maytag because of their prior good reputation. That reputation is in tatters now. They should recall this product and replace it with products that actually do what they advertise!

In July, 2014. I bought brand new Maytag refrigerator with bottom freezer. After 4 years, compressor leaked, and not cooling at all. I tried to check warranty, and Whirlpool Canada said that only specific model has 10-year warranty on compressor issue and mines does not have. So frustrating. Simply dont buy Whirlpool product. This is totally garbage and not reliable company. LG or Samsung has 10-year warranty on compressor for every product.

We bought our Maytag Neptune washer in 2005. We chose Maytag because of their reputation, their headquarters in Michigan, and because looking at the machines in the store, they seemed to be well built. Were we ever wrong! You would think paying $1000 for a machine would get you a product that lasts longer than 8 years! Our other washer (a Whirlpool) lasted 20 years and was still working. Im now consistently getting a 3e error code. In searching online, I found that this is a pretty universal problem and thought maybe Maytag had a recall on it. What a waste of valuable time. I did find out the machine was actually a Samsung. This seems like fraud. If I wanted a Samsung, thats what I would have purchased! Contacting Maytag Customer Service was like Land of the Stupid. After getting the runaround and being sent to a phone number and website that only covered Samsung I called Maytag again. I was put in contact with another person who could supposedly help me with the recall. Even though I told him what the problem was, he gave me the robot response about sending the GFCI plugin and told me, That should make your washer safe to operate. Seriously??? I replied, This wont fix the problem because THE WASHER DOESNT WORK and we got the recall part long ago. He then wanted to schedule a repair appointment. Not doing that, considering how stupid the Maytag reps I had talked to so far had been. Putting the hubby on the case, luckily hes pretty handy. On the upside, it was fun responding to the Maytag customer service survey that night, LOL. All of our other appliances are Maytag and they have all been great, but this washer is an unreliable piece of junk.

The machine dries out the clothes so tight that they are full of wrinkles. I am so dissatisfied with this machine, I spent almost $600.00 for this and this is what I get. I also end up with fabric softener all over the clothes. I use the Downy Ball and I just took out my black pants to find blue all over them. I contacted Home Depot where I purchased the machine. They said to get a hold of you. All I want is get a different machine, not an HE. This is beyond anything. Someone should have to put up with, can you help me?

Maytag Centennial Washer MVWC400XW2 - Bought this washer Fall 2011 -- first 6 months had to be serviced and now (February 2016) needs to be serviced again - has not cleaned my clothes for the last 3 months. Now, I have had to order a new washer - you can bet it wasnt a Maytag. My new washer will not be delivered for another 3 weeks. Past the part of not cleaning clothes, now it wont even empty the water, or pump out the water. It makes a horrible noise! Before it wouldnt use any water, now, it fills completely up. I do not know if it will make it through this current load much less another 3 weeks. Always bought Maytag before BUT WILL NOT AGAIN - after what I have been through with this washer!

My husband bought me a Maytag washer as a surprise gift. I was so excited to get a Maytag. I will never purchase a Maytag again. I am so tired of washing, rewashing and rerinsing my clothes and still not getting the soap out. I have used every different kind of detergent and used with and without fabric softener. I have also tried cold, warm and hot water. I would rather use more water and get the soap out instead of using more electricity to keep rewashing my clothes and then in the end having to take a wet cloth to get the soap out. Never had to do this with any other washer I owned. Very disappointed as I always thought Maytag was the best.

Fifteen months after purchase, the lid lock and motherboard goes off. It was replaced with new parts and the machine still doesnt work. Cost of repair is equal to the cost of the machine. With or without an extended warranty, the expense is not worth the investment. While shopping to replace the machine, the dealer finished my sentences on Maytag washers.

After purchasing this washer in 2007, the washer started to smell like sewage. At first we werent sure it was the washer and had a company come out to check the pipes. After this and calling Maytag complaining without any luck. We were told to buy affresh tablets and run it through the washer once a month. This last only so long and the smell comes back. Now when the washer goes into the spin cycle it sounds horrible. Again called Maytag without getting any resolve. I will never buy a Maytag again!

There are few nightmares that worm their way into reality, but the forcing upon us of the low water washing machine has excelled beyond mans wildest imagination. A tool which everyone finds an absolute necessity is now a tool which does not work! In reference to this particular machine, there isnt enough water to wet the clothes, it beats the garments with such viciousness, even on hand wash, pieces go missing off the clothes, ripped into oblivion. You no longer can buy a machine which does not SENSE the water level, so we have all been reduced to either buying new clothes every week, or wearing crumpled wrinkled disasters which arent quite clean, and we get to use 3x the electricity and waste 3x more water, not to mention wasted time in repeating the process in hopes of getting our clothes clean and wearable.

This oven has been used so very seldom that I didnt feel I could rate it until now. We use the oven 1-2 times a week since purchasing it in March of 2018. There hadnt been any reason to use the Self Cleaning part of the oven until last week. I have had a oven with self-cleaning for 20 years and the oven went out so we purchased this one because of its sleek look and features. However last week I decided to use the self-cleaning setting on it and came home after being gone all day to find that the house smelled like it had a fire burning in it. I ran to the oven to find the whole inside cover in a white powdery substance. It looked like a snow blizzard had gone on inside of it. I was use to a small amount of white residue being inside the oven after it finished and it just wiped right up. We spent hours vacuuming it out then scrubbing it down with vinegar water and a sponge with a scouring pad on it. The casserole spill was still on the bottom, most of the enamel is gone and the glass will not clean off. I did not use any chemicals in the oven prior to turning it to the self-clean mode, I believe that it overheated and burnt the enamel off and distorted the glass. Whirlpool offered to send me a cleaning kit. I told them that would do no good. I had already scrubbed and used a razor blade to try and clean the bottom and the glass and them sending me different cleaning supplies would not fix the fact that 80% of the inside protective coating on the oven is gone. Now it is a porous surface. A Serviceman was scheduled and he called prior to arrival today and asked me to explain what was going on with my oven. I explained and he said I can almost guarantee that Whirlpool will say that it is cosmetic and they only cover cosmetic for 3 months and that I will have to pay for a $100.00 service call. This is a load of crap. This coating is part of the oven to keep it clean and protect the metal from the high heat of baking in it. This is not cosmetic feature like the outside stainless steel finish or the black trim decor. The inside doesnt look pretty. It is a function. See the photos below. Whirlpool Range Item # 805150. We Purchased a Maytag gas oven/stove three years ago believing it to be the quality of the Maytag of yesteryear, Boy have we been disappointed! When Whirlpool Corp. bought out Maytag several years ago they continued using the Maytag name only.. The quality is now less than substandard, It is a cheaply built piece of crap.. We would sell it in a garage sale and replace it with a quality stove/oven but we dont want anyone else to have to deal with this piece of junk! It will soon go to the landfill!!!

We just replaced our 20-year-old washer and dryer for a new Maytag Bravos set. The Home Depot staff convinced us that top loading units were of good quality and reliable. We were fairly satisfied with our expensive purchase when our washer stopped spinning. We are just past our 1-year warranty of course so we called the service department. A young man in a beat-up pickup truck showed up and spent his time reading the manual that was hidden under the washer. His best guess was a $300 part plus a $100 fee for him to show up. So to repair a less than 2-year-old machine is $400. Im tempted to buy a different washer. It wont be a Maytag, unless you can convince me otherwise. I give you credit for great advertising! I was convinced that Maytag was a good name with limited repairs.

We bought a Maytag washer in 1987. It worked beautifully for years. The Maytag Centennial Washer we have now is sub-standard. It takes a full hour or more to wash one load. No quick wash feature. Today I filled the washer with soap, clothes, and pushed the button to fill it. It filled and inexplicably drained, wasting my time, water, and laundry soap. I regret buying this washer.

I purchased a Maytag Bravos Quiet Series 400 in 2010 and it is now leaking like crazy and sounds like the bearings are going or gone in it. I researched washing machines for over a month before purchasing, and it seemed like this would be the machine for our active family. So much for research. It washes clothes okay, but is a bit rough on them. I found that it has ripped some of my more delicate items. When I contacted Maytag, they sent me an email with contact information to purchase a maintenance contract for $395 which would cover the machine for only 1 year. My husband is very mechanical and took the washer apart thinking the seal/gasket may have come off. He cleaned up the seal and the area around it, and put the seal back on. It did not help. He also noticed that the drive shaft to the motor was beginning to RUST! This machine is only 2 1/2 years old! So, if you are noticing that your whites are getting orange spots on them, this is probably happening to your washer, as well. Maytag should step up to the plate and recall this machine.

I purchased this set 2/15/2014 and have never been more disappointed with a product! The washer is top loading high efficiency and there is NO water level for different sizes of loads. If I add two small items or a load of towels the water level is the same and the larger loads do not get clean, I can only run very small loads of clothes and sometimes even those do not get cleaned. I have seen soap on some items because there was not enough water to rinse it all out - and I measure the soap very carefully. Additionally, when using bleach for whites it stays in the washer even after running a second rinse with the tub empty to clean it out. I have ruined a lot of items due to bleach stains. And shortly after getting the washer something came loose and it rattles every time it spins making it very noisy. I am seriously considering selling this set with a huge loss and purchasing another washer so that I will not ruin anymore clothes and to be sure my clothes get cleaned. I have had the set for 8 months and will never recommend this product to anyone.The dryer has its issue as well. It shuts off before the clothes are dry every time I try to dry a load and sometimes 5 minutes or less after I start it. I have to use the timer all the time because the auto settings shut off while the clothes are wet. Additionally, I have to run most loads for 2-3 cycles to get the clothes dry. My reliable old dryer of almost 20 years dried my clothes perfectly with the auto time settings and was a far superior dryer than this one.

I bought my Maytag washer and dryer in Monroe County in Georgia, USA in 1980. Its a 1979 product and it STILL works perfectly fine after 40 years! Im 64 years old now and Im hoping Ill never have to buy a new set although I would love one because theyre so pretty these days.

We purchased this product from Lowe’s in 2009. We liked it for the first 6 months. Then it started putting holes in our clothes, the washer smells bad, coins get stuck, and make noise. Something needs to be done because there are thousands of upset consumers out there, all with the same complaints and Maytag does nothing. It’s not Lowe’s fault. They didnt make the washer. I have a top loader Maytag washing machine, Model MVWB835DW4, bought in 11/2019. Five months of light use, the lid cracked. Received a replacement and four months later the lid once again cracked in the exact same spot. Requested replacement parts under warranty and I was told that a service tech must install the lid. Due to health and safety concerns related to Covid, we are not take any chances letting people into our home. My wife and I are 70 years old and are at high risk. Maytags response was they would not send parts under warranty to me and a service tech must install the parts. If I dont let them in by 11/2/2020 (the end of the warranty period) then I would have to pay for the parts. Maytag has the very worse customer service in the industry.

Bought a Maytag HD top load washing 11/4/17. Within the first month the machine began to make a loud squealing noise during the wash cycle. A repairman came out 2 times before finally replacing the gearbox and tub. Within the last month or so the problem began again, another repairman came out twice, and once again, had to replace the gearbox and tub. When he left I ran a load and the machine sounded like a war was occurring inside of it. Very loud banging and grinding... heck I was wishing for just the squealing back! Maytag refuses to replace the machine and just keeps sending out repair people. The Maytag name once stood for quality but that was long ago.

I purchased a Maytag slide in range from Costco online in April 2020. Within three months a discolouration on the stainless top part of the range has happened. Costco has a ninety day period for repairs, or return on appliances. Pictures were provided to Costco at the request of Maytag. Upon review, Maytag’s response was, This is a cosmetic issue and nothing we will repair. I am an extremely disappointed consumer who will NEVER purchase a Maytag product again.

We bought a new home with all new Maytag appliances. Our Maytag dishwasher has had 3 new handles, 1 inside tub and now needs a new touch panel. Our Maytag oven/stove has needed three ignitors and the oven door has never been right! The microwave is the only appliance that we have not had a service call. Appliances are expensive along with parts and labor for service calls. I will not be purchasing any more Maytag appliances. The standard comment by repairman: They dont make them like they used to. How sad is that!!

MFI2568AES - Last night we woke up because of a noise coming due to continuous snapping of the waterline against the walls of the refrigerator as well as a wall of the house structure itself. Very loud noise. I pulled the refrigerator, went behind it, and shut off the waterline. That stopped the noise and allowed me to go back to sleep. However, need your help to resolve this issue. I will appreciate if you can offer me pointers and guidance.

Save money. I have always had Maytag & loved them until I bought the Bravos xl top load washer. The salesperson insisted it was a large capacity energy efficient w/ great maintenance record -- greatly misleading. The water level does not rise enough to effectively clean or rinse so clothes do not get cleaned or detergent doesnt rinse out thus allowing only 2 to 3 towels or jeans to wash per load. Such ineffective cleaning cycles create the ongoing need for loads to be rewashed and be extremely small, yielding credence to other consumers’ accusations of being mislead and false advertising of xl capacity. As such, it takes hours to wash a family of threes clothes. The machine shakes like crazy and clothes get ruined as they get twisted and tangled into each other ripping, tearing, misshaping and ruining them.

Maytag Bravos Quiet series 300 washer - I purchased this washer 14 months ago from LOWES. After having a huge issue with a Kenmore Oasis machine. $$$. Anyway, this machine started a week ago with F1 code and Ld code. This is getting to be a financial strain buying washers every year or two. This is my third in 5 years. Looks like I will need to get another one, again. It makes no sense to repair it at a high cost when the replacement parts are the same as the failed parts. Everyone seems to have the same problem with this washer. Get better electronics guys. The rest of the machine is in fantastic shape. My two cents.

Whos up for a class action lawsuit against Maytag? I believe Maytag is making claims that are NOT true. I bought a new Maytag Bravos XL in Nov 2015. I asked the salesperson to point me to a deep water washing machine for Large loads. Salesperson sold me the Maytag Bravos XL MCT and made claims I would have 30% more water than the other washers. The sales pitch (according to Manufacture) is these smart machines have sensors that can detect how much water is needed. THIS IS NOT TRUE. My Maytag machine only gives me 1-2 inches of water on the normal and rinse cycles and maybe 4-5 inches on deep water cycle!!! Certainly not enough to cover clothes, towels or sheets. I immediately called Sears. Tech is basically being trained to tell consumers thats the way it is. This is the new future in washing machines. So, My recommendation - hire an attorney to get your money back!

The Bravos XL MCT Maytag commercial Technology is not a good machine. I noticed it within the first few weeks. I called Conns to request technical support but the technician they sent didnt solve the problem. I also called Maytag, they also sent a technician. He told me the same thing as the other guy. To use good quality detergent and to make sure the clothes are neatly arrange around the drums walls. Nothing works. My clothes dont get clean because they dont get wet. Theres lots of residuals and wrinkles all over them. Also, the machine takes way too long to finish a load of clothes. I did tried to return it, but Conns wouldnt take it back. I dont recommend this washing machine at all!

I bought it from a local dealer so that I could get it serviced locally. I bought it in 2012 and paid $750 for it. I hate just about everything about this (and all modern) washing machines. The deal breaker is all these safety features that are really inconvenient and pointless. If I could have found a good used washing machine at least 10 years old, I would have bought it. This is a Maytag Centennial. I dont like the automatically locking door, the inability to choose the water level myself, and the requirement to use a particular kind of soap. Also, I hate the idea that I have to clean the washing machine from time to time. Whoever heard of that? But you have to do it otherwise your clothes will have a sour smell. These new washing machines are not an advance in technology. I may have to go back to using a wringer machine.

We purchased our French Door, bottom freezer in April 2010 after a renovation. We have loved it besides needing more refrigerated space. This past weekend I noticed the appliance was cutting off and a few seconds later coming back on. It has an outside ice and water dispenser as well and the lights will blink on and off of course when the fridge cut off. Called for a repair and when the repairman called in the parts he was told he needed 2 computer boards. One was available however the other was discontinued and they would not allow him to just replace the one board. The fridge cost us $1798.00 from Home Depot. I cant believe how irresponsible Maytag is in this case. I have a kitchen full of MAYTAG appliances and have loved them all. But this is unacceptable. The Maytag fridge I had before was 16 years old. I gave it to a family member when we bought this one and that one just broke down last year so it was 21 years old! Whats up MAYTAG?

Same as the rest of complaints. Dryer needed a new motor 3 months after purchase. Crazy. Door magnet replaced at 5 months. Lint screen replaced. Washer electrical board replaced at 8 months. Cloths come out wrinkled, tore up with holes and I have like bleach spots on clothes that I didn’t use bleach with. Now the washer is screeching and coming UL. My husband thinks its the bearings and tub seal. Called Sears and parts alone are 185.00 not counting labor. Of course its out of warranty now. Seen comments about a class action lawsuit. I really think this product deserves one. Why should we as consumers have our hard earned money wasted on a product that doesnt meet our standards for a quality washing machine that we thought we were buying. Whos in.

Bought the top load water saving washer 3 years ago and paid around $500 dollars for it. It will not operate correctly. I always thought Maytag was the best!! My main complaint is I cannot get no one on the phone to ask questions about what might be wrong with it!! Now Im angry, its like you buy it, its yours, we arent worried about you after that!! I am on a fixed income and no one cares!! Ill never buy anything manufactured by Maytag ever again!!

The circuit board on my seven year old Maytag French door refrigerator died. I called a repair company out to see if it could be repaired. He went to order the part and said that it was not available. Now I read a review from someone else saying that Maytag does not have parts for appliances that are over 6 years old. Thats ridiculous that after spending so much money on an appliance that parts are not available. I will never buy another Maytag appliance.

2016 model washer. Bought a Maytag in 2016. Replaced in 2020. Problems: Spin cycle extremely noisy, have to close the door to utility room to stay in the house. Leaks a lot during wash cycle. Getting the lock to release takes awhile, sometimes I have to unplug it. Makes a grinding noise at times when starting the spin then.

I bought this washer almost 5 yrs ago and oil has been leaking from it. Called company who sent a tech to my home and declared it a total loss. All he did was tilt it for maybe 1 minute to determine this. I am out a washer. Nothing from this horrible company. They quit making the washer but cant even compensate the owner with anything to purchase a replacement. Will keep passing the word.

This review is for a Maytag Gemini MGT8775XW 30 Freestanding Double-Oven Gas Range w/ 5 Burners. I cannot believe the amount of problems I have had from this $2000+ range. Within just a few weeks of getting it, the paint started scratching off the surfaces nearest the heat. Then, the plastic cover over the digital display and controls bubbled up due to the heat of the broiler being in use. They designed it so that the heat escapes from the oven right in front of the control panel, so when you want to adjust temperatures on the control panel, you chance getting burnt from the hot air every time.The very worst design are the manual knobs for the burners on the front. They are at an angle, and if you look at the oven straight on, you see they are higher than the burner surface. A hot pan that overhangs the burner cooks the knobs. The plastic interior of the knob lacks any kind of heat resistance and actually starts to turn soft, keeping you from being able to turn off the burner at all!Most dangerous of all, the knobs are frighteningly easy to bump, pouring gas into your house. We have had this problem multiple times. Today, my dog must have wanted to investigate the top of the stove, because when I came home, the burner was on, had burnt through a pot on the stove, and was just at the ignition point for an item sitting next to the stove. If I had come home 15 minutes later, my house would be in flames right now. I am having to air out my home as I type this. I am DONE with this dangerous oven and will be shopping for a new one, and it certainly wont be Maytag.

It washes extremely well. Its reliable. The wifey loves it and thats enough for me!!! I have had no major mechanical issues. Since 2012 we use it heavily and every other day. I would purchase same brand if need be but Im confident that would probably be in 2024.

We loved the Maytag dishwasher when we first bought it. After about 5 years it started leaking. Had rubber gasket replace, only held up 2 years. This was the only problem.

Our Maytag refrigerator that is two years old has been nothing but issues just after the warranty expired. Ice maker is broken and it started having the temp alarm go off every few weeks and now every few days. It was a 1800 dollar purchase and no one has been helpful where we bought it nor has Maytag. We will never purchase another Maytag product...

I think that I finally figured out a way around the piece of junk Maytag sold me. I bought a Maytag french door, stainless, yada, yada refrigerator in 2006. When it broke down, see later description, the first several times it was ok because of the warranty. This POS has failed 7 times requiring $300+ to fix every time. When contacted about the issue, the people at Maytag seem happy. The business model is working perfectly. There goes another sucker. The refrigerator begins its eventual breakdown with the door alarm light and sound beeping constantly. Beeping that continues for days and weeks. The next progression to failure continues with it not beeping anymore but now the interior lights do not light when the refrigerator is opened. Finally, the refrigerator stops cooling entirely and it is dead.Now, Maytag no longer wants anything to do with it so you need to call a repair man. When the repair man arrives, the entire time he talks about what a piece of junk Maytag is. They, every time, at first think it is the switches and replace them. This NEVER fixes the issue. Next, they have to replace the computer brain. $400 to fix. EVERY TIME. Now, at least every year. If you buy Maytag and have a similar experience, get your wallet out. Sell you junk then dont stand behind it.

We have had the same problem as everyone else. We have the freezer on the bottom model. It started when the fridge was less than a year old, with water on the floor and ice buildup on the bottom of the freezer. Since then we have needed to have same repairman come at least 4 times because the top part suddenly gets very warm, food spoils, and water accumulates under the produce drawers. Our repairman has told us that newer models have improved design, but that doesnt help us. This fridge is now about 3 years old, bought it at Home Depot. This is unacceptable.

Maytag front loader model number MHWE251YG - Purchased washer and dryer 2 years ago. Purchased extended warranty from Lowes. Have had the washer worked on by Lowes repair service over 7 times. It stopped working again tonight. Full load of soaking wet clothes, it wont drain or wash anything. Just hums and then beeps just like all the other time it stop working.

A contractor purchased the Maytag MDB7609AWW2 dishwasher about two years ago. Sometimes it will start a load, but most times it will not. The light for high temp, heated dry and sanitize work, but the heavy, normal, light indicators will not light up. Im faced with either replacing the control board or control electronics. I was told Maytag is a quality product. I have not abused the product. The last dishwasher that I had lasted 10 years. I only purchased this one because of a remodel. I will most likely replace the control board since thats the defective part. It doesnt give me a good feeling about replacing the part since it’s obviously a defective part. I will consult Consumer Reports before purchasing another dishwasher.

My old washing machine was about 25 years old but still doing a fantastic job getting the laundry done. When the dryer died we decided to replace both machines so theyd match. I had been setting money aside for years in preparation for this purchase. Ive only had them for two weeks and I stay awake at night wondering what GENIUS decided you can get clothes cleaner in a tablespoon of water than you can in an adequate amount of water?! My old washer could wash a load of laundry in about 20 minutes. Again, what GENIUS decided taking over an hour to wash a load of laundry in a tablespoon of water was a better way?! What working woman would choose to double the time needed to do laundry and then not feel confident that the clothes are clean?!!! I am so mad and frustrated and disappointed and I dont know what to do. I wish I could yell at somebody!!!

Rust on two year old Maytag Bravos washing machine - I noticed some rust along the inside lip of the washing machine lid and along the seam near the top of the machine about a week ago. I contacted Sears where we had purchased an extended service agreement. However, the agreement does not cover rust. I contacted Maytag and there is nothing that they can do either. The machine is kept inside the house in the laundry area. We have had two washers in the past 21 years that my husband and I have lived at this house that were much less expensive than the Maytag Bravo. They did not rust. This will be the last Maytag product we will purchase.

The washer doesn’t have enough water to to get clothes clean. Even on deep water wash there’s is not enough water. It doesn’t get clothes clean, its very noisy. It takes a long time to was, even on short cycles. You can’t soak dirty clothes, it has a cycle for soak but it is not long enough. After about 3 months the lid licking doesn’t work and the progress lights remain on and never go off. This is the worst washer that I have ever owned. I just want to return it and get a different one!

Works like a Dream!! My dryer is an older model Maytag and it works wondrous. I have tried the newer energy efficient kinds and I feel like they dont dry well or make my clothes smell clean. My older maytag works fast, efficiently and I love how my clothes feel fluffed and smell fantastic!

Bought Maytag Bravos from Home Depot in Dec 2010. Wife didnt like the way it cleaned clothes right from the start. It wouldnt get clothes as clean as her 20+ year old washer. 2 1/2 years later and her $900 washing machine needs $600 in repairs. My wife will finally be happy with the way her washing machine cleans again because we are purchasing a new one this week, and it wont be a Maytag.

I purchased a Maytag fridge with a freezer on bottom. As you know there are many complaints regarding ice build-up in freezer causing leakage out onto the floor. I will not purchase Maytag again. For 3 years I have fought the ice buildup and it has ruined my floor! Poor design - should have been recalled!

I bought the Maytag Centennial Washer a year ago. I have had nothing but problems. The clothes never get fully wet so you have to wash clothes 2 or 3 times. The lid does not open when running. So you cant put soap after the clothes are damp. I say damp because they dont get wet. Right now the sensing light has been on for 2 hours. I need to catch a flight in the morning and I cannot wash my clothes! My white clothes never get clean. I have to wash 2 or 3 times. Actually 4 time would work better. The water and electric wasted with washing over and over again is nuts. Stay away. Ive warned you!

Purchased the Maytag Bravo Nov 2010 and had to replace it after just 5 years. In the five years we owned it, it required a new water pump and the stabilizers had to be repaired. Its motor burned up and I was not able to find a replacement. I was quoted $224 (parts only) for a replacement motor and 10 weeks delivery. My wife never liked the machine as it was not able to clean clothes that well. We did not find much difference in any of the settings. We tended to put very few clothes in each load in order to get them clean. We were dissatisfied that it did not have a soak cycle and the lid lock was particularly annoying.

I purchased my washing machine in July 2020 and it was broken by November. It took months without a washer before the warranty finally replaced my machine. I had the second machine less than 6 months when the water pump went out on it. They told me it would be two weeks for the repairman to come out. In the meantime my clothes were locked in the washer half full of dirty water. They told me we would have to force the lock to retrieve the clothes so they would not mold. The repairman called, never showed up, just called to ask what was wrong. Told me he would order parts and I had to wait 21 days to see if they would be able to find them. Today is day 21. I called the warranty back and was told it would be escalated and someone would call me in 4 days with a resolution. In the meantime I have spent $60 a week doing laundry for my family of 6 at the laundromat for MONTHS. Out of the 18 months have dealt with Maytag, I have spent more than 6 months at the laundromat. When I asked to be reimbursed the money I have spent they offered me a free 6 month extended warranty or a fifty dollar gift card. This product is garbage! The customer service is garbage. Dont waste your money.

I bought a new stainless steel Maytag refrigerator last year. It had a one-year warranty. Wouldnt you know, 14 months after my purchase, the icemaker stopped working. Did not take out the extended warranty, as I thought I had purchased a quality appliance. I contacted the store where I purchased it. Was told it would cost $150 to replace. I have a feeling this appliance wont last very long. Suffice it to say, I will never purchase another Maytag appliance.

March 31, 2013 a Maytag front loader washer series 2000 was purchased. In January an error code E4 and F3 kept stopping the washer. Service replaced some minor part, worked for a week. Then service replaced a circuit board - worked fine for a few months. About June of 2014 the codes came up again. This time Service wants 430.00 for a 700.00 dollar washer to fix a continuing issue. So I decided not to spend the money. I could buy another washer, different brand of course, and try and fix it myself. I removed the top and the bottom front covers. The 3 wires going into the circuit board that was replaced were loose, barely plugged in. The catch all at the very bottom right had derbies and coin in it, cleaned that out. Looked at the motherboard with a magnifying glass. It had no bad solders, cracks or burn marks, so I proceeded to run my hands around the entire drum inside... and in the back side where you can’t really see were some more loose wires.... tightened them. Now with the spin rpms you can understand how things shake loose, I always look for the common sense issues.... I am currently on my third wash load. It runs smoother and quieter than it did when it was first installed. Point is the Maytag service sucks and with only a year warranty from the manufacturer. What did I have to lose to try and fix it myself. I am sure this is happening with a lot of other people. The odds of a motherboard or a circuit board going bad in such a short time made no sense. So check all the wiring FIRST. Make sure everything is securely plugged in. I would not recommend anyone buy a Maytag or Whirlpool (owns Maytag) for their reliability or service.

This is March 18, 2021. I bought a Maytag washer, model MHW5630HW2, which is their high end front load washer, in early July, 2020. The machine worked fine except that out of an available 10 cycles, only two would run. The seller, which was Sears, replaced it as defective. The second machine runs all the cycles but, though leveled carefully, it rattles, screeches, walks across the floor and generally seems to be trying to tear itself apart. The repair service replaced the shock absorbers in this new machine, after a six week wait for parts. This did nothing to fix the problem. The repairman finally just said he doesnt know how to fix it. After many patient hours on the phone with Maytag, they have said I have no recourse. The machine is under warranty and I purchased, for an extra $350, a five year warranty. Both warranties are useless. Maytag refuses to stand behind their product. I live in a small town in New Mexico. There is only one repairman. He cant fix it. Sooo...if you live in a small town, or dont want to spend endless fruitless hours with repair people or on the phone with Maytag, who will ultimately tell you they just cant help you, DONT BUY THIS MACHINE.

I have to agree with all these other reviews. This washer twists clothes and does not wash them at all. If you open the lid mid cycle you will see dry clothes on top... Isnt that the whole purpose of a washer? WTF. Steer clear of Maytag. They realize that theyre selling washes to Generation Xers and they can get away with it because we were the first throwaway generation. Great business plan Maytag!

Maytag 765 Washer - What a disappointment after having a Maytag set for 2 decades only to get a new one that isnt worth much quality wise. 2 new washers in 2 weeks due to a ratcheting noise that they both have. The solution??? Have a third service call only to hear, replace it (which we did) or replace the transmission. The 3rd call coming up will be the same. What good is a new transmission going to fix it when the last 2 machines had New transmissions. Quality??? I dont think so. Oh, I had to buy the second replacement in order to get credit for the first one. This was at Lowes. Is there even a quality washer out there anymore?

We purchased a Model MDB8949SAWO Maytag dishwasher in September 2012. The control panel failed in November 2015. We wrote a letter to Maytag (Whirlpool) expressing our disappointment and received a call from Maytag customer service. The Customer Service representative informed us because we contacted our local repair facility directly, no reimbursements would be provided. During a subsequent follow-up call, I was informed by the Customer Service representative that Maytag manufactures quality products and that no premature failures were occurring with Maytag dishwashers. The Customer Service Representative stated that we should have purchased an extended warranty which lends some support to the fact that Maytag dishwashers are essentially junk. Never again will we purchase any Whirlpool products.

This is the noisiest washing machine ever manufactured - cannot do laundry at night or no one sleeps, during the evening it overpowers the television. Dark washes are a nightmare as there is a white smear (soap scum?) on everything (guess you don’t see it on whites) - extra rinse does not help. What happened to this “reliable company”???

Bought all stainless steel Maytag appliances when we remodeled our kitchen in 2010. French door fridge freezer broke down three times. First the fridge lost its temp and we lost our food. The freezer went into overdrive and froze the vodka solid. Second time massive ice build up in bottom of freezer so we had to constantly chip it away to keep door closed. Third time was a repeat of the fridge not working at all and the freezer going insanely cold. Sad to say, we have given up and bought another fridge freezer for $1,500, not a Maytag!On to the washing machine: a super duper top of the line expensive Maytag. At the end of last year it started to make disturbing jet engine noises in spin mode. It for worse and worse so I had a repair man come and take a look at it. He said it would cost over $700 to fix. Once again, we decided to cut our loses and buy another washing machine. I have saved all the paperwork including the repair bills for both appliances so Im good to go on the class action lawsuit.

Refrigerator failed in less than 7 years. In August 2005, I purchased a new Maytag side-by-side refrigerator to match the Maytag appliances (stove, microwave and dishwasher) in the new house provided by builder. In October 2011, I called a repairman because of noise. The relay switch was replaced for $179. Now, I am told the compressor and defrost circuit board need to be replaced for over $700. I will never buy another Maytag appliance or Whirlpool. They make and sell crap and dont stand behind their crappy products.

Just when you think that youre able to do laundry. First, comes the musty smell. So, you clean cycle your HE machine using only the cleaning product directed by the manufacturer. Then, comes the pump being stuck on. Like it still have to drain yet your clothes are soaked but you heard full force of a good drain. Poof. Unplug and kick it. Look on YouTube and discover you should take it apart and clean out some obscure puddle holder & look! You discovered where the sock monster lives...its gross. Going to start my own business (125.00) to clean these things out. Hopefully not get some kind of fungus from the grossest mold ever. Its Maytag not a Home Depot issue.

My dishwasher is one year old. It is very quiet and cleans well. Stainless steel makes it look great too. Efficient, energy saver dishwasher with great capacity and large utensil holder. This is the best dishwasher I have owned.

Things that I have read that are true: Rips clothes/towels/sheets. No real problems with motherboard like some have stated. Bought Maytag Bravos Washer/Dryer in 2009. No real problems with the dryer, HOWEVER, may with the Washer. Had the pump go out in 2/2010 to the tune of $199.20 due to a small object in the pump. The repairman said it would just take a very inexpensive part from Maytag to prevent this. In 6/2012 washer not draining, clogged pump. All right, new to HE Washers, so told to use less detergent than detergent manufacturer recommends. $79.13 to fix clogged drain. Even though being careful with items in pockets, loose buttons, etc. AGAIN had pump go in 1/13, $214.22 (same problem cheaper in 2010, repair inflation). Wed noticed it was loud on the spin cycle (like a rocket going off) and were told at that visit the bearings would need to be replaced, and quoted approximately $280 to repair those. Havent fixed, waiting for something else to go wrong and then decide what to do with it. So in 4 years paying almost the purchase price of the unit (if I fixed bearings also). Crazy. If you bought a house and had to pay 4/5 of the house to repair it in that short of a time, no one would own a house!!!

Does not clean laundry, leaves dry untouched spots, all my clothes look unwashed & the rinse is terrible, leaves dirt on clothes due to little water in cycle. Im a senior on fixed income. I cant buy another machine.. I called Maytag within a couple of weeks of using washer. They told me We have No guarantee for Customer Satisfaction. This is a complete scam on their part. If I could of afforded a Lawyer I would of taken them to court. They knew what they were selling & somehow got away with it. Give the people what they pay for, not the Bravos piece of Junk. Can only wash on 1 cycle to get wet wash. But paid for other useless cycles. Who made this machine & who allowed it to pass to the unfortunate Consumers. If anyone can help getting Payback from Maytag, Please let us know... Better business Bureau should get after them.

I have had my washer and dryer for more than 5 years. As normal, over time, stuff wears out and parts need to be replaced. The manual doesnt list part numbers that are needed. The website doesnt pull up part numbers when you type in the model number. After paying for overnight shipping that isnt guaranteed (and was more than the part itself), it didnt show up until a couple of days later and it was the wrong part. I would have to pay for shipping costs of the return, now tripling the cost of the actual part. Calls to customer service were not at all helpful as all they could say was that I would have to pay for the return shipping and they were sorry there was nothing they could do. I wont be purchasing anything from Maytag ever again.

I bought a Maytag Bravos XL washer in 2017 for around $800 which suddenly stopped working about 1.5 weeks ago. The console wont turn on. I filed a service request on Maytags website which results in Maytag subcontracting the job to a local appliance servicing company. About 10 days later the appliance tech shows up to my house. I had to pay $125 to the service company for the technician just to show up. After, he tinkers with the machine and 5 minutes later gives me a quote totaling $789.07. Of that amount the parts component was $482.09. He told me that the computer was bad. I was appalled. This was a 2.5 year old well kept washer. I called Maytag company next day to see if they could at least cover the parts cost. Especially as I have a large family with 3 kids plus elderly family members. After waiting 33 minutes on the phone, the CSR took all the appliance info and tried to see if she could get Maytag to cover the parts cost, given my situation. After about 5 minutes, she told me that Maytag declined my request- quoting that my appliance did not have any warranty and that the notes on the computer regarding my appliance indicated that it was field scrap. Field scrap?? Really? This was an appliance that was bought at Home Depot.This is the lowest of lows that this company (Maytag/Whirpool) can stoop. For a billion dollar company, that are advertising their products as Made in America, they have no heart and no empathy for their customers. They build sub-standard products comprising of cheap parts so that their products only last a few months, then they try to sell you their sub-prime warranty services that are full of holes. And for those poor souls that dont sign up for their warranty services, God help them if their appliance breaks down. They are then left to deal with Maytag/Whirpools appliance service vulture contractors which in tandem with Maytag conspire to squeeze every last cent out of hard working Americans (Especially during these trying times).Just to compare my situation. My parents bought LG washers and dryers in 2008 which remain in full working operation to this day (12 years in operation). The Maytag Bravos broke down in 2.5 years. Use my experience as a lesson. Do yourself a favor and save yourself the headache and heartache. DO NOT, I mean DO NOT purchase or support Maytag/Whirpool appliances. You are better off spending your money with LG or Samsung.

According to repairman this washer had a very common problem with what mine was doing. Water was gushing up out of the detergent, bleach, and softener dispensers and running out onto my floor. It was going to cost an arm and a leg to repair it. Mind you this washer isnt even 3 yrs old yet. Called the manufacturer and they basically told us that we should have purchased the extended warranty. We said if so many washers of that model had that problem they should have had a recall and fixed it for the customer. They said it wasnt a safety issue. I asked if falling on a floor covered with washer water and breaking a hip isnt considered a safety issue? No more Maytags for me.

Im totally done with the Maytag brand that Ive trusted for over 30 years. I never knew until yesterday via Facebook friends that they are not true Maytag-made anymore. They were bought out by Whirlpool eight years ago. I bought my top-load Maytag Bravo 400 Series Washer ($1,028) at Home Depot in October 2008. No problems with it until now, less than 4 years old with error code DL. So I looked in the book and found it was the lid lock (the little red light wasnt lighting up when closing the lid, which prevents it from running).I made an online appointment with Sears Home Appliance repair to check it out. But after talking with online friends and googling fix videos, I was able to get it running today by taking the top off, unplugging the lid wire and plugging it back in. So far, its working but now I will fear each time I go to use it that something else will fail. My old Maytags (washer and dryer) bought in the 80s never needed service until they approached the 14- to 15-year mark. That only tells me that the newer made appliances are total junk! So many complaints and how the companies dont back their appliances, it just sickens me.

I bought an off-white or light cream color gas Maytag stove about three years ago. When I first used it to boil some water for tea, the light colored grills turned black. And this is without cooking a full meal, merely boiling water. After a few more uses with light cooking, and a few spills on the cooktop, I discovered that it was simply impossible to clean. The glass on the oven door became discolored with the first use, and is also impossible to clean. I purchased several types of cleaning items and sponges, and nothing works. This is a disgusting stove. I hate it and I wish I never bought it. I will never purchase a Maytag anything ever again. Its the poorest and cheapest no-quality item - a total waste of money.

I spent over $600 dollars on a Maytag Bravo 300 series. The washer has cost me over $300 to fix the latch and 2 months later, it will not spin. I would recommend to anyone not to buy a Maytag product! Garbage! I had a standard Kenmore washer that lasted over 10 years without a problem, paid $300 and still sold it for $100. The funny part is that I sold it to my brother who still uses it regularly and has not had any problems. So what is money worth? Your call.

Maytag washing machine Model # MHWE500VW - 2 control boards only last 4 years. I paid top dollar, $1229.00 to be exact and the parts and labor are $659.00 with no guarantee that there wont be further problems. Technician told me that this is typical of Maytag products. Contacted Maytag and they told me to take a hike and have a nice day. I will attempt to get some help from the place of purchase, Hamai Appliance, Maui, Hawaii.

Bought va washer. Trying to upgrade. Water fills about 1/3 of way even on bulky setting. Supposed to be high efficiency. Detergent does not get all the way out because there is no enough water. Have to put it through 2 rinse cycles. Worst machine. Design is flawed. Clothes all wrinkled. I cant afford to buy clothes and have them ruined. Man must have designed. Hate the washer. Im poor and they want take it back... want my money back. I cant buy washer every day. I will keep on complaining. No customer service. People just put you off. It is a Centennial high efficiency. Maytag Bravo washer and dryer delivered 2 days ago.My complaint is with the washer. I didnt know it was HE and that it requires special detergent! I didnt know the lid locks! I didnt know when I push the hot water button, the machine mixes in cold water! Complicated, delicate machine and not user-friendly. I dont expect the washer to last long.

I share the complaints of others about the Maytag Bravos washer (model MVWB300WQO), which I purchased in October of 2009.Besides being overpriced, its a washer that doesnt soak clothes, develops a bad odor, has silly things like unnecessary lights and music, and you cant add an item once the wash cycle has begun without the cycle starting over from the beginning. It also leaves washed items in twisted wads and the lid locks so you cant see whats going on inside. In addition, it damages items. Ill have to replace a full-sized blanket that it recently destroyed and now I cant trust that itll wash things safely, which is a problem. The person I spoke with at the companys customer service department simply said that I shouldve used the bulky item option instead of the regular cycle. I explained that Id used the bulky item cycle before and the same thing happened. The washer leaves larger items stretched very tightly across the tub and I suspect that is how my lightweight cotton blanket was destroyed. She offered to schedule someone to service the washer. But its not broken, its a poor design, so sending someone here would be a waste of time.

I feel its kind of cheap. The interior is all plastic which doesnt look shiny and clean as it use to be when it was new. Not efficient in cleaning. Can see still dirt spots in some of the washed dishes.

Maytag dishwasher model MDB4949SDE3: This dishwasher is the biggest POS that I have ever owned in 40 years. The first one would never turn on and fill with water and after it finally did it leaked on my new floor. Waited 10 days to have it replaced. The dishwasher cycle is 2.5 - 3.5 hours and the dishes come out dirty. The top rack is not adjustable to wash odd things. I feel that these dishwashers need to be replaced.

MBL2258XES1 - Like most of the other reviewers, we have a Maytag refrigerator just 3 years old with a lower freezer that leaks water onto the floor -- and has been doing it for the last two years. We have to take the freezer apart (NOT easy), defrost it, take the back panel off, and clear the drain tube. Obviously a defective design! Cant believe Maytag hasnt done something about this!

I believe the Maytag Bravo washer and dryer was manufactured so the Maytag man would have something to do once again! Buyers Beware! My $800 washer broke down 1 week after warranty costing me $400 to repair!!! Half the cost of a new one... now the dryer is making horrible noises. I fear calling for repair... or should I just buy a new different one?? My last washer and dryer lasted 30 years!!! Bravo certainly did not have all the kinks out of them before marketing them! We have had the oven, a Maytag Gemini Double Oven model mgt8775xs02, for 3 weeks now and I am so upset. First off, I became violently sick from the oven when we first used it. I had a horrible headache and then nauseousness and then the worst stomach problems I have ever had. The toxic smells coming from the oven were too much for me. We had every window open. I looked online and found other people who reacted the same way to their new oven smell. But now we are on the 4th time using the oven. We did a self-clean and I thought that would help but no, it smells like someone is pouring gasoline into my home. I smelled it in pockets throughout my house. I have had the gas company out twice and a repairman. They all cannot figure out the problem. I looked online to see if other people were having a gas problem from this model and I am not finding it. It is horrible. I feel like I am being poisoned. I have not had a working oven in 2 and half years and I was so excited to get this oven and now my new oven is making me so sick. I am not sure what to do from here.

Washer has plenty of functions for me to was even my work clothes. These saves me money and time. Washer leaves clothes clean and you can even wash your blankets.

Ive read a few reviews and would have to agree. This is the worse washer I have ever purchased. I agree clothes go in dirty and come out dirty. I have to hand wash clothes to get them clean and wont even mention how long it takes a white t shirt to start looking like it was placed in mud vs being placed in a washer. Called Maytag and they said I was loading it wrong even though I was loading it as suggested by the manual. Then they suggested it needed service. I think not after reading these reviews.The irony is that I had called for service on a front loader due to prolonged washing cycles, the repairman was as useful as this MayTag washer. Come to find out I replaced a perfectly functioning washer, intake screen on cold water needed to be cleaned, for this piece of useless metal. I guess since reading that Maytag doesnt value its customers by offering some type of consideration I will replace this piece of crap. Please dont buy the Bravo series. Maytag is the brand I had for 18 years and never had a problem with the washer or dryer in all that time. So when my dryer died I decided to get a new set of Maytag washer and dryer. I picked the set together and they dont have a lot of bells and whistles, simple to use and the washer is an HE. Cost was about $900 for the pair. I bought the washer and dryer in May of 2015. Models are simple to use. I have not had any problems and quite pleased with the work they do.I like to stick with a brand if it has served me well. Energy costs need to be low and I look for sales. Capacity is something I do not need a lot of, since it is just two I am washing for. Good quality is what I look for. I have not ever had paint chipping or rusting. Never had socks missing or a bad result with cleaning or drying. The washer has a cleaning cycle and the dryer is very easy to clean, the lint filter, and I get great results with no static when I take clothes out of the dryer.

I bought a Maytag washer and dryer with Commercial Technology, front loader in April 2012. Since then, the repair guy has been at my house three times in six months. This last repair is going to be just $800 in parts, not including any labor yet. So, I called Customer Service, and told them I was not satisfied with the repair job again, because I obviously have a lemon of a machine. Needless to say, I lost, and was told the warranty is only for repair, and not replacement. Well what happened to customer service? Its more like customer bend over, shut up and take it. So, I will get my repair at a cost of at least 1,200 bucks paid for by Maytag. Im not a business person, but if I were the company, I would think replacement of the unit would be a lot cheaper in the long run for this company and a happy customer for the future of me buying brands. Needless to say, I will never buy a Maytag or Whirlpool product again, and you can thank your useless Customer Service department in Canada for that. P.S. I work for a company with over 10,000 employees. I might accidentally send out a little free publicity how this company treats loyal customers. I actually bought this brand because in the past, I was led to believe they were great . Wow, was I wrong!

We purchased our Maytag dishwasher (model MDB7609AWW2) on November 14th, 2009 from a local appliance shop in White Plains, NY. Total purchase price was $449, not including tax.Sometime in November of 2011, the unit stopped working. I tried every simple test I could think of to hopefully reset the unit. Finishing the obvious checks, I researched some possible problems on the internet latch micro switch, drainage problem, dirty latch, etc. Frustrated as nothing got it working again, I called a repairman recommended to us by the appliance store.The repairman charged me $75 for the visit just to tell me that the control board is shot. Even worse, and this is the reason for this letter, the part costs $329 plus $40 in labor! That is outrageous! If you do the math, I am facing the costs of a brand new unit to fix the old one. That might make sense if the unit was 8 years old but it is barely 2.I have sat on the decision now for a few days as I am beyond upset and I never make good decisions when I feel like this. But to recap, Maytag manufactures an appliance where its basic function - turning on - fails in 2 years and the repair cost essentially totals (to use insurance parlance) the unit. I find this absolutely unacceptable.I don’t expect Maytag to do anything for me. But I will say this; I plan on letting everyone I know just how this experience went. To make things worse, I am willing to pay for a quality unit but how does anyone know what that is anymore? For color, my grandmother has a KitchenAid dishwasher from the 1970s that is still running fine. No membrane controls, no delay functions or fancy BS super sanitary cycles and guess what, it has no control board, just plain old dials and buttons. Imagine that mechanical control? Built to last unlike the junk you see today.To remedy, I plan on picking up a used machine from the classifieds. I’ll install it myself and be able to do this for 9 years at $449, assuming it only lasts one year (I’m finding these units for $50 used). I may get lucky and find an old one from the 70s that will last a lot longer than that.

We purchased a Maytag Gemini gas range last year in April and the extended warranty. The ovens have not worked correctly since we bought it. I never do this type of thing, however, I am just disgusted! I am going to exercise my right as a consumer to express my customer dissatisfaction and share using the social network. I dislike Maytag and even dislike A&E factory service more! I have never experienced such bad service on a new appliance. What is even more concerning and the reason I am posting this warning is there appears to be no recourse! I googled search both companies and the first things that came up were complaint pages. How sad! Buyer beware! If you buy a new appliance, research the warranty provider. It appears that Maytag has laid off the Maytag repairman and went to a lost cost unskilled service provider! A&E repairman has no idea how to fix the oven. He replaced the part. 4 weeks later, came out and walked in the house and did not even look at anything and ordered the same part again. He told us he would be back the following Friday. He did not schedule an appointment. I called on Thursday before he was due to show on Friday and A&E told me I had no appointment scheduled. They told me to inspect the parts that were shipped. I told them I would not even know what I was looking at! They told me the repairman would be back out between 1-5PM on Friday. No one showed. At 2PM, I called and A&E said the repairman must be on his way because he did not call and say he wasnt coming. But again, he did not show! I made no less than 6 calls to A&E and Maytag after that! A&E would not escalate the situation to a supervisor and on call number 6, when I finally got to an advocate, they told me to call Maytag! I have taken 4 days off as vacation to be home for the repairs and this last day was the final straw. When I researched escalating paths for both companies on Google, the first thing that came up was whole pages dedicated to complaints for both companies!

Bought a Maytag refrigerator from Home Depot about 2 years ago. Like everyone else we are having leaking problems from the freezer drawers. I wonder if anyone has had it repaired and whether it was repaired

I purchased this refrigerator 1 1/2 yrs. ago. The refrigerator stopped getting cold about 3 months after warranty expired. I called Maytag company and told them how disappointed with their product and also how angry I was after spending $1500 only 18 months ago and now it is useless! They kept asking me if I bought the extended warranty and I said I didnt think I would have to after buying a brand new product. And then it breaks so soon!! And now they want me to spend an additional $359 to get the warranty... what a racket! She told me to look under the fridge for leaks. Sorry I cant, Im disabled. She said too bad and would have service man call me but that would be even more expensive. Woops, disconnected.

I purchased a whole stainless steel kitchen from Lowes and purchased all Maytag products because of the so called quality of Maytag. First we had to return the microwave because it was dented badly. We then notified Lowes that the door on the refrigerator cold cut drawer falls off when opening the drawer. Service man said he would send a new door. Same problem. You can clearly see that the drawer and the refrigerator frame is deformed. Maytag says that the warranty does not cover cosmetics. The range has a aqua lift self-cleaning technology that simply sucks. The oven does not clean! I recommend that no one ever buy Maytag products. They are the worst! I should not have listened to the salesman and bought what I originally wanted - SAMSUNG!!!

I had noticed the lights, such as for sanitizing cycle, hot water cycle, etc, would go out intermittently, but since the washer still ran, I was down with that. Loaded it up last Sunday, pressed the button to start and El Zippo. Nothing works. So here we go again with another crap product from Maytag. Yes, I have had this dishwasher, which was a pricier model but closeout priced, at Lowes in 2008, BUT I live alone, so how many dishes do I wash. At the same time this is the third time had a repairman out (with no help from Maytag other than trying to sell me an extended warranty for nearly $400) and these machines ought to last a lot longer than this. The part online is bad enough, $150, cant wait for the repairman to call me back tomorrow and see how much they are going to hose me for.

My machine is only 14 months old and will not even turn on. I opened the lid, and the tub was filled with water and the wet clothes sitting in there. There were only 6 items in there: 3 school skirts and 3 school pants, dripping wet. So I unplugged the unit to try and clear the circuit board - to no avail. The machine will still not turn on. The lights are on, the sensor turns on for about 3 seconds and shut off and everything just sits there. I did not get the extended warranty. My mom still has her Maytag she bought 30 years ago and its running like a champ. Wish I could say the same. I gave my sister my old Maytag - its 25 years old and its still running like a champ. This machine is a LEMON. I will never buy another Maytag again. I am so done with this brand. I hope that a Class Action suit is filed against them.

I am, was, a loyal Maytag owner. The Bravos design, center hub, catches the clothes and rips the material. Customer service will only state damaged material is not warrantied. So I now have a washer that in addition to washing clothes rips them.

We purchased kitchen appliances in 2012. A Maytag French door fridge, dishwasher and double oven range. So far my lights on the range have not functioned right as to which eye is on on the smooth top range, the ice maker burned out and now the control panel on the dishwasher has burned out. All of course are out of warranty. We have replaced the ice maker. Now in search of the control panel for the dishwasher. Havent priced the part for the range yet. I do know that I have a Maytag washer and dryer that so far are between 10-15 yrs old and knock on wood they work great. But I will NEVER buy appliances with the name Maytag on them again. So sad that you spend top$$$ for 1-2 yrs of the appliances working correctly.

I attempted over and over just to swap out washing machines. I originally purchased a washer and dryer because of a defect in the top load they delivered. They talked me in to the frontload Neptune instead. Within months I started having daily reactions to mold and to my disgust found out it was from my washing machine. I begged to switch back to the top load I originally ordered and the store would not let me and referred me to Maytag who sent me some tablets and would help me no further. Apparently, the Maytag repairman wasnt lonely anymore if a product had to be manufactured and ready for complaint calls. Well I used the product. I used vinegar and baking soda. I have used hot water and bleach. I have left the door open to dry...It is the most cared for item in our family and the one that makes me ill literally. I cannot afford to buy a different one and would be interested to know if my husband’s declining health issues have anything to do with our mold issue or if it is just depression...Anyway, I was very discouraged to find out that other people in other states had washing machines replaced, but why didnt I? I would be happy if they could buy back my old Maytag that I had prior to this Neptune, I am sure it is making someone very happy somewhere. Why couldnt they have respected my very true complaint? I was not trying to get something for nothing. I paid for something to keep us cleaner and free from allergens and instead wash my clothes in mold and have mold spores leaching into the air in my home. Please help.

I have two major issues with my stove. First is that you have to press enter after setting an oven temperature and it doesn’t even beep to remind you before just cutting off. Older, forgetful people like me have probably prepared countless dishes for the oven only to find that it is not preheated. The second is that if you turn on the timer, it cuts off the oven. You only make that mistake once before writing the timer off as useless. I have a hard time believing that they ran either of these by anyone who cooks! One other mixed feature, the heating element for the oven is below the floor of the oven. This causes it to preheat slower - which compounds problem #1 - but makes cleaning a breeze.

I bought the washer dryer combo. Dryer already broken. Washer is very loud when it changes gears. Would not recommend the washer or dryer.

I purchased a Maytag Centennial Washer at the end of last year. Within 2 weeks, I knew it wasnt a good washer and asked my husband if we could return it. He said, No. I dont like using the fabric softener dispenser, so I used to use a Downy ball. This washer doesnt spin hard enough to open the ball. I tried 3 separate times. Each time, the ball came out with the fabric softener in it at the end of the cycle just like it was when I put it in. It also doesnt get the clothes clean. Im using chlorine bleach, detergent and OxiClean and our whites are gray. It doesnt get the simplest stain out and the soak feature is a joke. If you use the soak feature, the washer fills up, the lid locks, it soaks and then the water drains out. No spin or anything.Normally, on the old washers, you could just push the knob in to stop the agitation to soak something, but not now. The lid locks, which I cant stand, when the washer is working. I would like to see if it is agitating or to add more clothes if I want. Im not sure who designed this washer, but they should go back to the drawing board. Ive tried every cycle and none of them work well. It also takes an hour to wash a load of clothes. Im just so disappointed with Maytag on every level. This was my first Maytag purchase and it will be my last.

We purchased the MMV4205DS over the range microwave in June of 2015 & installed it in July the same year. We purchased the matching range & a dishwasher at the same time as they were running a promo of $150 rebate if all 3 were purchased. They denied us of $50 of the rebate & stated that all of the paperwork was not submitted on time. We received rebates on 2 of the appliances & paperwork for all. 3 were in the same mailing. Hmmm. We were told a 3rd party handles their rebate program. So much for taking ownership. Yesterday the door open message appeared on the control panel of the microwave & now there is nothing; no light, no fan--completely dead. So much for buying American. Maytag does not see that this is a problem? Do NOT buy Maytag!!!

Purchased this Calypso machine as a second machine for my ranch to handle really dirty clothes. Purchased from Sears Outlet as a refurb machine would be fine for the purpose. Machine was alleged to work by Sears. Paid several hundred for the machine, brought it home, and voila it does not work. New hoses, ran all the checks, and will not fill. Called Sears and, despite the statements of the manager, was told that I have to have a 3 day old machine repaired and not replaced. This POS did not even work out of the box. Years ago I had a Calypso which is now a flower pot. Junk, Junk, Junk. NEVER buy anything from Maytag or Whirlpool.
