I believe the Maytag Bravo washer and dryer was manufactured so the Maytag man would have something to do once again! Buyers Beware! My $800 washer broke down 1 week after warranty costing me $400 to repair!!! Half the cost of a new one... now the dryer is making horrible noises. I fear calling for repair... or should I just buy a new different one?? My last washer and dryer lasted 30 years!!! Bravo certainly did not have all the kinks out of them before marketing them! The cost is to the consumer who trusted the name! You cannot return a 2 year old appliance! The laundromat would have been less costly than this washer and dryer! Maytag should be made to recall these defective machines or at least repair for free. Do not buy!

The Maytag Bravos XL Gas Dryer I purchased less than a year ago has stopped working three times. The dryer stops producing heat. I am now about to call Maytag repair again and waste time and energy setting up a warranty service call. I spent a lot of money in order to go to the Laundromat on a Sunday. Do not purchase this dryer if you would like to be able to dry clothes at home with any type of consistency or confidence. Arrrggg!

Whos up for a class action lawsuit against Maytag? I believe Maytag is making claims that are NOT true. I bought a new Maytag Bravos XL in Nov 2015. I asked the salesperson to point me to a deep water washing machine for Large loads. Salesperson sold me the Maytag Bravos XL MCT and made claims I would have 30% more water than the other washers. The sales pitch (according to Manufacture) is these smart machines have sensors that can detect how much water is needed. THIS IS NOT TRUE. My Maytag machine only gives me 1-2 inches of water on the normal and rinse cycles and maybe 4-5 inches on deep water cycle!!! Certainly not enough to cover clothes, towels or sheets. I immediately called Sears. Tech is basically being trained to tell consumers thats the way it is. This is the new future in washing machines. So, My recommendation - hire an attorney to get your money back!

I purchased my Maytag Bravos from Lowes in early 2014. A few weeks after the motherboard fried and Lowes replaced it with a new one. Within my 1 year warranty the new machine had another fried motherboard. Maytag replaced it for free. Now less than a year later the motherboard is fried again. Needless to say I just purchased another washing machine. Definitely not a Maytag. Now I just have to deal with a dysfunctional piece a junk for a few days until I get my new one. After reading all the complaints on here and other sites, Im very disappointed with Maytag. These machines are obviously lemons and any good company should recall them. Mine will be going straight to the junkyard. I have no interest in having a washer that breaks down every 10 months. Definitely the last thing I will ever purchase from Maytag.

I purchased a Maytag Bravos washer and dryer combo 2.5 years ago. Six months in, I noticed that the washer would always stop halfway through the cycle. We had a repairman come out because it was under warranty and he said it just had to be reset. I then started to become weary of the product. The washer, that is larger than most, is still a problem today. The dryer, the last couple of months, has not dried clothes completely. Today the dryer just stopped. Maytag will rip you off when called for service because the warranty is expired. I have owned old dryers for several years and I am so disappointed with the Maytag product that I will make sure that anyone I know thinking about purchasing a Maytag will buy another brand. The worst washer and dryer I have ever owned.

We too were having a water leak from the French door freezer and a sheet of ice under the freezer drawer. The repairman came and told us that it was a common problem with the French Door fridge and an easy fix. Maytag has a new P type defrost hose that doesnt freeze up. He changed the part, $149.75 bill, and no more problem. Should Maytag have let consumers know this was a part that was failing? Yes, definitely. But at least the fix was reasonably cheap.

I purchased both the washer and dryer in this series. First the washer does a horrible job actually cleaning the clothes unless you set it as a bulky load and use more water. Despite that issue, after only owning the set for four years the dryer broke down. It made a terrible noise and you could not run it because it was far too noisy. My husband thankfully bought a replacement part and fixed that issue. A few months later I started having trouble with the washing machine. It freezes constantly and I have to unplug to get it working again. It usually take over 15 times to actually get it to begin to fill with water. Now it started to stop working during the wash cycle and I have to unplug it again to get it going. Most times I have to change it to another setting like rinse and spin or drain and spin to complete a wash cycle. Last night it began to have a plastic burning smell. I used to own the same washer for 20 years and only had minor issues that come with extended use. To only own this pair for under five years and have them both break down proves that these are poorly made products and you should save your money and purchase a different brand altogether. I will never buy another Maytag as long as I live if this is how well their products are made. I expect to have my appliances last longer than five years for their price. So save your money when it comes to these machines. I promise you will not be happy with your purchase. I will either have to repair the washer and hope it will last at least a few more years or chalk this up to a lesson learned and discard both machines.

I purchased the Legacy series washer and dryer from Home Depot in 2005. For the first 3 years, the washer worked fine. Since then, it has all been downhill. When I use bleach, I have to run an empty load because for whatever reason, the bleach goes through to the next load which has resulted in a number of ruined clothes. The wash cycle leaves clothes dirty and some even come out partially dry?! The rinse cycle does not always work as more times than not, the fabric softener is still in the dispenser cup. The spin cycle is getting worse with each load. Sometimes I reset the spin cycle as many as three times at which point I hand wring the clothes. This creates a strain on the dryer as I have to run it extra long to dry the clothes. I am more disappointed than I can say. I will never purchase anything Maytag again and I will not purchase from the company who makes Maytag products.

This Maytag was installed in this house in the summer of 1984 and washed dishes for my in-laws for 26 years. We moved in as a family of four and this Maytag dishwasher is still washing the dishes clean. No rinsing, just make sure the food is gone. We replaced the belt about 6 years ago and I think my Mother-in-law replaced the door seal. It has a power saver button, 2 cycles, and the cups are on the bottom rack, plates and such on the top. I dont put plastic bowls on the bottom because it gets a bit too warm for them but all the bells and whistles still work. It is a fairly large model, WU301, with ample room for plates and platters. I dont wash pots because I dont like what the dishwasher soap does to the finish on them. Having the cups on the bottom is nice and the rack is very usable for other dishes as well. The cutlery rack is located on the top rack, removable and a decent size. Almond body, silver and dark brown accents, very 1984 but not a bad look. All of the buttons and knobs are easy to read and use. Maytag, 1984, model #WU301.

Home Depot, where they were bought, came out twice, and all they say is there is nothing wrong with the washer. There are plenty of things wrong with the washer. It doesnt clean the clothes. I have to use the heavy wash cycle, to try and get the clothes clean. Maytag wont even deal with the situation. The fight has been going on for over 2 years (washer serial # is CY4744432 manufacturers number is MVWC6ESWWI).Not sure if I should just give up. Im really tired of fighting with Maytag and Home Depot. I hope you can help.

I had the same problem with my refrigerator that others had that the water would freeze in the bottom of the freezer then leak on the floor. Now I have to have my floor replaced because leaking. I also have to have some walls replaced because of mold. When I called Maytag they said that they would send the part but we would have to install & that they knew this part was a problem. Luckily I had the extra year warranty. How can a company get away with this? If they know that a part is failing why didnt they notify anybody? Now the damage is done & hopefully my Homeowners insurance is going to pay for the damage. I paid $1,100 for it, 1 1/2 years. Thank goodness I bought the extended warranty. My advice is dont buy any Maytag products ever!!

I bought the quiet series 200 dishwasher about 2 years ago. The control board went out and because it was past the industry standard one-year warranty, we were told we need to pay the cost of repair and parts ourselves. Well, I came here and seen that there were numerous complaints about that board specifically with all their models of dishwashers. I called and raised hell two times, and then I found them on Facebook and publicly bashed them there on their own page. They got back to me there and gave me an email address to explain my problem with their product. So I did. I even copied this web address and pasted it to my complaint. First, they called me and offered the part at 50% off. I told them, Go to hell. Even at 50% off the part combined with the techs labor, Im still better off buying a new machine and it will not be a Maytag ever again! A week after that another phone call came from them, this time saying they will cover the part 100%, but no labor. I agreed and for about $180 I got a new control panel installed and a one-year warranty on everything except cosmetic damage. Not bad, eh? Certainly not typical, I was told by the repair guy. Be angry, be respectful, but be persistent and public! That’s my advice.

Our Maytag Dishwasher, Model MDB4949SDE2 was purchased May 14, 2016 at Home Depot for $470. It has performed perfectly until January 6, 2020, when a noise, loud enough to imitate grinding wheel, happened with every Start-Up attempt. An independent technician advised replacing the pump motor, thinking that perhaps some popcorn kernels had lodged in the system. (Kernels were cleaned out of the drain filter.)We operated the unit after he left, and the noise began to diminish, eventually disappearing altogether after several loads. Today, February 26, 2020, the same tech found that the large, upper impeller was clogged (not rinsing completely) with citrus seeds and VARIOUS METAL SHAVINGS & SMALL PIECES OF WHAT WOULD BE CHOPPER BLADES FROM THE INTERNAL GARBAGE DISPOSAL. After reading the Maytag Dishwasher problems experienced by others (with repeated control panel failure, burning wires, leaks, and house fires), I consider us lucky to have none of those. We will not run the unit at night, nor with an empty house. Next problem, we will buy a Chinese made dishwasher, like GE.

I purchased an Atlantis washer in 2005 and assumed that Maytag was still one of the better manufacturers. How naive of me! What genius at Maytag thought it was a good idea to place the water filter inside the washer? Not only can you not keep the filter clean so that cold water will flow properly, even worse, if the filter completely clogs, the water will not stop filling into the tub which could, of course cause an overfill and flood. I narrowly escaped this scenario once. No one should have to stand and watch their machine fill with water to insure it stops. Now the machine is causing a grinding noise when agitating. I expect it to stop working any day. I will not buy another Maytag or Whirlpool, who of course now owns Maytag. And I will not pay another repair bill for the filter or any other part. The brand was once considered the best in America, now its just another brand thats a piece of junk produced in another country.

Im currently standing in front of my washing machine waiting for the 13-minute drain and spin cycle to finish because once again my load didnt drain and finish right. Except it has already been 40 minutes and it claims there is still 9 more left as it continues to sit there doing nothing while it hasnt even started spinning yet. It Sat on 13 minutes while sensing for over 5 minutes, then 12 for 10 minutes while doing nothing, then it changed to 11 minutes and made some weird noises but didnt actually do anything for 15 minutes, and now the timer randomly changed from 11 to 9 without any noises or movement happening and now continues to sit here.I stupidly thought I could spin my clothes real quick to throw them in the dryer before bed and now I stand here extremely tired and very irritated. I also have no doubt some of the clothes will have holes in them when theyre done because they always do, my family looks like were homeless and ratty half the time we get dressed now. Also it never deep cleans thoroughly even on the toughest settings, I swear our socks can be washed 3 times in a row after being soaked all day and still come out crusty or a lot of times the armpits of shirts will still smell or be ultra stained with deodorant marks still. This technology is almost too advanced and everything is decided by sensor, regardless of the registered functions on the buttons it will still do what it wants as the sensors see fit and run when they decide everything is perfect and ready, including taking 10 minutes just to unlock the lid when you pause a load cuase a small child may drown in the foot of water or a person may have their life completely altered by getting a little bit wet if the machine isnt completely drained and in pristine condition before you open the door. This machine is terrible. This company is terrible. And worst of all they drain your wallet for these horrible contraptions. I wish I could rate this 0 stars.

So at the end of Feb. 2012 they brought me a new Maytag Centennial HE Model# MVWC400XW3 & this one lasted till January of 2014, less than 2 years old & quit working. Had a service man come out to look at it & was told not only it would need a $400 repair but it was made by Samsung, but Maytag had their nameplate on it!! Called Maytag customer service line which took about 30 minutes of hold time to get through & was told, SORRY, LADY, we cant help you. Youre just out of $613 after less than 2 years of service & we WONT help you!! Model mdb7749sbm. Unit is just over 1 year old and fails in the same way everybody else in complaining about. Here is my question, this failure mode is obviously a designed in feature providing planned obsolescence to the device. Why is this company not being held to account for the damages in this case? Are all the judges that bought that no suit can be brought?Have all of you contacted your state consumer protection organizations regarding this issue? I would also recommend that you write both your state senator, the state consumer protection organization and any media outlets you can think of. High rate of control panel failure, devices activating by themselves when people are potentially away from the house, risk of fire or flooding... these are serious things and I would think a story that some news organization would surely be interested in digging into. Now that would serve to light a little fire under the Maytag organization if something like that was to occur. This sure seems to me to be a defrauding of the consumer - selling them a product at the top end of the price range that has such a significant design flaw that in the end can only be considered not fit for purpose. I havent yet contacted Maytag and Home Depot (who I believe are fully complicit in this as well), but I will be doing so to give them a chance to make this right, which I fully expect them to decline to do. Then I will begin writing letters. Am also considering small claims court. But above all, do not just accept this and move on! Companies like this need to be held to account, and they need to be reported so that others purchasing new devices in the future know to stay away from them.

I recently purchased a Maytag washer and dryer from Lowes. The performance of the washer was highly unsatisfactory. The water sensor does not allow sufficient water to enter the machine. Thinking it was a malfunctioning machine, I spoke to Lowes, and ask them to swap it out with another machine. They were cooperative and pleasant to deal with however, the replacement machine was no improvement. The water sensor does not allow enough water to enter the machine to even begin to saturate the load of laundry! I bought a washing machine, not a dry cleaning machine, but a dry machine was what I got and that is NOT okay with me. The literature states that load will not be covered with water, so that is how it is designed to work. With inferior water levels, and no agitator, there is not even a chance of water splash saturating and cleaning clothes. I am not an engineer, but common sense says this is efficient nonsense. VERY, VERY DISSATISFIED!

We moved into our first house just over two years ago and decided we needed
We moved into our first house just over two years ago and decided we needed to get a new refrigerator. We did a ton of research online, reading reviews, etc. We found a few not so great complaints regarding Maytag; however, we took our chances. (Note that we live in a house built in the 40s, so the fridge space is small and we needed a fridge size that is smaller than normal. We didnt have many options.) Well, a little less than 12 months later (yes, luckily right before the warranty expired) our ice dispenser stopped working properly. The mini-ice door would not close properly, resulting in a lot of frost in where the ice door was located. (There was so much we couldnt open the freezer door. It would get stuck.) So, we called out the repair guy and he said he had never seen this issue before and basically had to replace the whole flap and parts. Sweet. It was fixed and cost was covered! Well, about 5 months later, it happened again! Ah, they got it fixed yet again. Well, another six months later and after the warranty expired (lucky us), the fridge completely stopped cooling. (And it just happened to be Halloween, not a great day for a house issue.) So, we had to remove all our perishable food and place it in a cooler (which works hundred times better than Maytag products), and move all frozen food to a family members house 15 minutes away (luckily!). We were also super lucky we found a repair company that could come out at 5pm the next day, which happened to be a Friday! Awesome company (Conners Repair in Metro-Detroit). He concluded the defrost board was broken, meaning it was freezing and creating frost and then not defrosting, clogs the vents and not allowing circulation to occur. He was shocked when he found out we only had this fridge for 2 years and said this is something that normally happens in 20-year old fridges. I then decided to call Maytag and nicely requested a refund for the issue. I was told no due to the warranty expiring and also because we didnt use a Maytag repair company. I didnt want to wait a week as I thought this was something that needed immediate attention. I also am not sure why it matters who you get to fix your fridge. I have an invoice for proof of the issue and the repairman even said hed call to verify the issue. I don’t understand why I have to pay for something that was not properly produced, and not to mention the time out of my schedule to deal with Maytags issues. I now know not to buy any Maytag products due to the lack quality. I guess I learned the hard way.

In a way, l feel fortunate and you will read why in a minute. l have been reading Maytag complaints specifically looking to see if what happened to me has happened to others. Apparently, it has. We purchased our Maytag range, model MER57750AB, in 2005. We too have had some repairs done under warranty. Unfortunately, we live in a day and age where technology isnt always our friend. The old appliances that were not electronically driven lasted forever; todays appliances do not. However, when something with potentially serious consequences happens that is not technology related, it rates in the who is the idiot who designed that? category. I am talking about the exploding exterior glass oven doors. Two weeks ago, the oven door handle on our range came unscrewed on one side. I continued using the appliance, planning on repairing it myself when l found the time. (I used to tinker around the garage with my dad when I was little and therefore, I have great repair skills in several areas.) Last week, I was standing in front of the stove when all of a sudden, the glass panel dropped from the door! It landed straight up on the floor and fell forward so the top edge of the glass landed on my toes (the toes that I had surgery on for six hammertoes last November and are still sore!). Needless to say, l was shocked that this happened, and even more so, I was grateful that it did not break or either of my two grandbabies were around at the time. Then, I looked at the glass and saw that it was attached to the door using only eight small pieces of double sided sticky mounting foam. I mean small! As I said before, idiot! Did they not think that the heat from the oven would eventually wear out the ability of the tape to do its job? I gave up reading after I found enough complaints about the mishaps with the glass on the oven doors to realize that there is a definite problem here. I did not see where the glass fell intact, as mine did. Therefore, I am suggesting that the exploding glass panels more than likely gave way, as mine did, and shattered when they hit the floor. Should there be a product recall for this? Absolutely! The question is how does a recall get put in motion? As others have stated, this could have been a horrible disaster had little ones been around. I pray that doesnt happen to anyone.

MDB7749SAW - 22 months @ an initial price of $599 and control panel lights become increasingly erratic and finally machine fails to respond to reboot (unplugging) after the third time. Repair man over the phone is familiar with the model and estimates parts at $160 + $115 (gave me a discount) + $125 service call for $400 to make the Maytag run again. Bought June 28, 2012. Installed September 2012. Becomes trash July 2014. Wish I could be more helpful... but if I had purchased the service insurance agreement, it would have run about $90/year... that would have been an extra $180 for a total of $712 including sales tax. So, I had a dishwasher for about 95 cents per day. Nobody rents them. I cant give it less than one star or I would. As a new buyer I was not informed.

One month after warranty we had our first issue which cost us $380. Kinda my fault I was told by repair guy... My bra underwire came out during wash and destroyed the part we had to replace. Then a year later during spin cycle it sounds like an airplane taking off for about 10 minutes. Its so loud we cant even hear our TV! So guessing its bearings gone bad now? Which is a very difficult part to replace. And pricey. So guessing a new washer is in our future. We previously owned a Maytag washer and had it for 15 years and it still worked fine, we just wanted to upgrade. Big mistake! I wouldnt wish this washer on my enemies. I think the repair guys sets it to mess up when they do this reset thingy. Lol. Cause within a month of the renewed warranty we purchased was expired is when the 2nd issue began. I think the older washer are better because all this newer technology stuff is crap!! My advice do not buy Maytag Bravos series washer unless youve got lots of cash for repairs!!

My husband and I bought a Bravo XL washer in the fall of 2015. I certainly wish we had read the reviews on this site of this product. We would have saved ourselves a lot of money and grief. This machine does not clean clothes and actually damages them during the spin cycle as reported by others. This low water no agitator technology does not work on a top loader. Stuff doesnt come clean! Im not sure what we are going to do but we learned a valuable lesson the hard way. We purchased this machine in September of 2015 and are unhappy with it!

Like many I have never wasted my time writing a review, this time I have had it. Purchased all new appliances from Maytag, biggest mistake I have made in the last 10 years. Front loading washer is the main culprit. Doesnt clean clothes, have had to replace the rubber boot on the inside twice now, machine is only 3 years old. Maytag basically treats you like youre stupid, resend instructions like that will fix their broken P.O.S machine. I will never buy another Maytag and will be sure to let everyone know what a piece of garbage, from machine to company! Sad that the overall reviews on my machine are 1.3/5 stars on Maytags own website. Oddly, I cannot write any review on their site, Maytag must have realized what a POS theyve been selling and now block reviews. Im thinking that we should get enough owners together and file a class action lawsuit, maybe that would change their tune??? Never BUY MAYTAG, PLEASE keep in mind THEY are UNDER AN UMBRELLA with WHIRLPOOL and MANY OTHER MAJOR PLAYERS... Do not let them scam you the way they did me! If you work hard for your money spend it on a more reputable brand that will not try to stick it to you because they build junk!

Maytag calls peeling paint a cosmetic issue. With a convection oven it could be a toxicity issue. Waiting for an answer to my question as the fan blows the peeling paint onto anything that is not covered. Dont put foil on the bottom as this compromises the paint due to design. I called someone out to look at it and now am being told that the bearing is going out. We havent had the washer for two years. The cost to repair is going to cost us $574.00. That is crazy. To begin with, the Bravos 300 washer was bought because we owned a Maytag previously and it was with us for 25 years. It was still running when we gave it away and the only problem was a small oil leak starting at the drive. The new washer has no agitator, just the new style flat thing at the bottom of the tub. You cannot wash a set of fitted sheets without it turning into a tangled mess. The washer quit working after about 5 years and all indications pointed to the control. The control would reset after unplugging, but would freeze immediately when you tried to enter a command. We live in an isolated place and it is not feasible to fly in a service person. I ordered a new control, but there was no change in function. After several hours of detective work, it turns out that the mickey mouse plug for the electrical connection at the pump had broken inside. Because the pump would not work, the whole control would freeze. We will never buy another Maytag.

I had a stackable Maytag dryer that was bought in 2016 but only used during the summer of 2017. Last May the dryer stopped heating. I contacted Maytag and they sent a repairman a week or so later. He identified the problem in the electronic control and ordered a replacement part. The part came and he installed it a week later. The part was faulty and he ordered a replacement for the replacement. It arrived a week later and also did not work. He said he had problems with replacement parts but contacted the technical service department at Maytag as he did the first time. The technical service person said there were problems associated with new software being not compatible with dryers in the last year and we needed a new control panel. I contacted Maytag again waiting the usual hour to get through on the phone. They agreed to replace the parts for free and ordered a control panel that arrived a week later. The technician installed both parts but they did not work. I contacted Maytag again and after waiting the required hour talked to a person who said she would contact the department who could arrange a replacement. They contacted me a few days later and said they would supply a replacement for $250. This was delivered a week or so later but they did not have a stacking kit and returned to the delivery company with the dryer. A week later they returned with the stacking kit but forgot the dryer. A week later they returned with both the dryer and stacking kit but the installer (always a different person) said he was too big to get in the space behind the dryer and that the venting supplied was wrong.I bought new venting from Home Depot and a new installer arrived a week later. He said the new venting was not necessary and in fact wrong and installed the dryer. It ran but foolishly I did not check to see if it heated and neither did the installers or if they did took off without letting me know that the dryer, like the one that was replaced did not heat. I discovered this a couple of days later when I tried to use it. I contacted Maytag and they setup an appointment for a new service technician to visit. I contacted Maytag again today hoping to get some explanation of what might happen next or some explanation. They had no idea but did inform me that they would not replace the new dryer but would start repairs again.

I have a Bravos washer model # mvwb45owqo and matching dryer. The price for the pair was $1347.00 plus tax. The washer and dryer were bought Jan 14 2010. 10-10-13 the pump went bad and was replaced. I paid $ 221.00 to have it replaced. 10-31-2013 I was washing a load of cloths and it was very noisy. I call the local dealer and they come out and said that it needs a drive shaft tub part #w10193886. I would be about $300.00 to replace the part. Also they charge $75.00 for a service call. I called Maytag and talked to Ashley (**) from customer service and she said they could not give me any help that the washer was too old. I might also add that my last washer was 3 years old and the motor needed to be replaced. It was also a Maytag. I always thought if you paid more money for quality it was worth it. I am sorry I did not buy a cheap machine from Sears or somewhere else. It would of been 1/2 of the cost and I could of replaced it after 3 years or so if necessary and still been money ahead. We also have 4 rental homes that have all Maytag in it. I will be holding my breath that they are not junk also. I will tell everyone I know not to buy Maytag and I will never own anything that has the Maytag name on it again.

Come 9/15, I take off from work, only to find out tech cannot come that day, to reschedule. Next tech comes 9/25 with a different diagnosis and different part to order. By October 3, an announcement that part came in, to make an appointment. By now, its been a month and a half, I am so angry. I call a friend, who fixes it in 15 minutes by simply clearing a clogged drain filter. This is unacceptable: the inordinate wait, incompetent techs, unresponsiveness from customer service. My husband bought me a brand new Bravo Maytag washer and dryer from Home Depot in November 2010. In May of 2011, we moved and the dryer hookup was electric instead of gas. My husband knew how much I love the dryer, so he surprised me with another Bravo dryer to match the washer. We put the other dryer in storage and were happy with our purchase until April. In April 2012, the dryer stopped working. It wouldnt dry the clothes at all, and every time we tried to dry, the dryer was filled with wet lint. We were only a week away from moving again, so we waited until we got to the new house. The new house had gas hookups. So, we put the dryer that didnt work in storage and were thankful we didnt get rid of the other dryer. Now, just a few months later, the gas dryer isnt drying and is having the same issues as the electric dryer. How very disappointing! Both dryers are broken now, and it has only been 2 years. Each dryer has gotten about a year of use and then both quit. My husband, I and my two-year-old dont do that much laundry to break 2 dryers. My old GE washer and dryer lasted for years and is still working. We gave them to my husbands aunt who uses them and loves them. I agree someone should start a class action against Maytag. I bought a Maytag Bravos Quiet Series 300 washer just over two years ago from Home Depot. The control board and sensor went out last week. The service technician seemed rather surprised that a newer machine would have that kind of non-wear-and-tear problem and suggested that I contact Maytag/Whirlpool to see if they could help offset the parts costs, as the repair was going to cost over $600! The customer service agent I spoke with said that there was nothing they could do because the item did not have an extended warranty. I explained to her that we purchased this unit, even though it was out of our price range, because we were told that it would last a lifetime. I would have been happy if it would have just lasted 5 years! She was very detached and it was clear that Maytag/Whirlpool was not going to stand behind their product. I bought a set of 4 Maytag kitchen appliances. Terrible quality. Dishwasher racks poorly designed for anything except standard size dishes. Microwave has a hotspot and explodes whatever Im reheating. But refrigerator is the worst. According to my service man, Maytag is aware of known issue with poor quality evaporator coils that erode quickly, leaking freon. Causes problems with ice buildup in freezer, poor ice production until it loses enough freon to stop chilling correctly causing food spoilage. Im to that point now. This fridge is only good for offshore fishing site. Whirlpool is aware but will stall as long as possible, then refuse replacement, but they will offer to help you replace the appliance. HA! Ten years ago I bought a very expensive set of Maytag Neptune Washer MAH5500BWW and dryer units with the single all-in-one pedestal. The washer starts sounding like a freight train during the fast spin dry cycle. A service tech came out, turned it on, listened, told me it is bad outer tub bearings going bad. And the price to fix is $846. Its essentially a throw-it-away deal. The tech says he has done hundreds of these and its a 3-hour major tear down, the bearings are press fitted and you essentially buy a new outer tub instead of replacing the bearings in the old one. Maytag went out of business and was bought by Whirlpool. What a piece of crap and to think how great Maytag once was. Now I have a dryer and a pedestal that probably wont fit any other washer brand.

I have nothing but great reviews for my Maytag experience... In approx 1975 I purchased a Maytag W&D, Model MAH4000 MDE4000, when their advertisement was portraying Maytag repairmen as the loneliest repairmen. Maytag was so dependable that the repairman was NOT needed...and it was true... That Maytag W&D set lasted til approx 1998 when it was upgraded to the Maytag Neptune MAH4000 series... Had a minor problem with mold in the washer, but Sears and Maytag replaced the seal and made another modification... We also dried the seal at the end of the washing day and left the door slightly ajar between uses... Have not again had that problem.I have since given the Neptune set to my daughter and the washer and dryer are still in operation, WORKING SUPERBLY I might add... So I am searching for a good quality Model MAH4000 and MDE4000 to replace my current much older, yet functional Whirlpool... It may need some repairs and about a year ago, I spent $173 to replace the Pump which was clogged by a sock inadvertently stuffed around the top of the drum when too many items were pushed in at one time. I prefer not to throw additional money at this machine! So, if you know of a Quality pre-owned Maytag Neptune washer and dryer in the Lexington KY area, please contact me...

My dishwasher, purchased in 2013 sings the same tune as many of these complaints...stopped working correctly, turned on whenever it wanted to, etc. Thought it was the cpu...no. Called Whirlpool and they gave me the same runaround that they give everyone...more money for a temporary fix. Did some more research that led me here and discovered that the ribbon cable leading to the control panel was fried due to heat and moisture. Easy to check for yourself... looks like brown crap on the cable...if you have a meter, you can easily check it. Tried to repair it, very difficult, but I tried. NEWS?...I wrote a complaint to the Better Business B... and mentioned that this is a safety issue, which it is.Believe it or not, just received a call from the corporate office (Whirlpool) and they were interested...I actually got their attention. They said they would have someone contact me... she did today... so this is encouraging. I dont know what they are offering, but this poor design is a serious problem, and if you want to get in Whirlpools face better go through the BBB. I already have purchased a new part and am adding silicone to the cable to protect it from the heat...but Im really seeking full reimbursement because this is not going to end well. Good luck...

My front load Kenmore just fell apart. I guess Im lucky I have had it for 8 years and now its broke. I could fix it but thought it would be better to get a new one. I looked at all the reviews for front load washer and could not find one that had positive reviews. So I went with a top load. After reading all the complaints I might have made a mistake, but its too late now as it was delivered yesterday and now doing the clean cycle. Oh my…what junk they all produce now - a true throwaway society. My refrigerator is still working after 24 years what a gem of a product. Happy days.

I purchased a brand new MHWE450WW01 Washer and MGDE500VW2 Dryer in February. The dryer takes forever to dry something; seriously, 3 hours for jeans! The washer sounded more like a jet engine taking off. I called Brothers Main, they sent a service person who identified right away that it was a known problem and he had over 6 repairs already, but be prepared to wait up to 3 months for the replacement parts. This is ridiculous. The service center, you can never get through to them and when you do, they dont seem to care. I had a 10-year old washer that made less noise than this brand new one that I spent $1800 for.

I suppose I am the lucky one in that the Maytag Bravos was given to me free. I took out a perfectly good Maytag standard agitator washing machine and replaced it with this several years old unit. What a mistake! I read the other reviews and see that I share the same problems. I always get a the oL fault as soon as it goes to do the final spin. So I have to reset and try again. Also I have seen the same kind of dirt on the clothing as others report. I dont know that I will waste my time contacting anyone about the fault code. I may just put the old one back in and scrap this thing!

At first the Maytag Bravos XL top load washing machine met all me expectations. After 3 yrs. the top where you load bleach and fabric softener began to rust. This is not covered under warranty. My last washer was a Whirlpool and had it 15 year and never had that issue. So it cant be from the water, just poor workmanship. Very disappointed. Now my lid came loose and is ready to fall off. Would not recommend.

Two years ago I purchased a Maytag commercial technology top-load washer. It only two options for water level, either deep water or Auto sensor. Because I live alone I have very small amounts of clothing to wash at a time. Therefore I was excited about the auto sense to save water. However when using the auto sensor theres such a small amount of water in the drum it does not cover the clothes being washed and often I have items of clothing come out of the wash cycle and rinse cycle with dry spots on them yet. The clothes dont get clean and begin to smell stale shortly after theyve been washed. I contacted the business from which I purchased the machine and they were not able nor willing to do anything about my dissatisfaction. This is the worst Appliance I have ever purchased in my 64 years hows life. I hate this washer. It is totally ineffective. And now Im stuck with it and dirty clothes.

I bought a Maytag dishwasher, stove and refrigerator and the dishwasher was a problem from the beginning. Repaired out twice and replaced the control panel. Seasonal residence, so the start of year 2 (this week) the control panel goes a third time. Its going to cost $387 to repair (told my elderly mother) and it turns out it was a warranty program that she purchased, not a repair estimate. She was misled as she called Maytag and they transferred her to a warranty company, and once again Maytag says theres nothing they will do. Now, Im hassled with cancelling that as well. I called Maytag and they dont stand behind their lemon of a product and said there is nothing they can do because its out of warranty (even though theyve been out twice to fix it). Do not buy a Maytag product. This is the first complaint Ive every written and I am just shocked that Maytag doesnt stand behind their product. Im informing 100s of people to not purchase Maytag and they will pass along my negative experience as well, for that, I am sure.

Purchased new Maytag Refrigerator from Mannys in Western MA. Top freezer, over $900.00. Never has worked correctly. We need to turn the freezer way up to freeze the ice cream and it forms frost all around the freezer with mini icicles hanging! But even worse... no matter what setting you put the refrigerator on it ruins your food by freezing everything. The only safe spot is in the deli drawer. I have thrown away hundreds of dollars worth of food that is destroyed because it froze in the refrigerator.A service man from Mannys came and ordered parts. He came back and said they were the wrong parts. Now he says that the refrigerator has a problem and Maytag is trying to come out with a plan on how to fix it. I talked with Maytag (took 44 minutes to get someone on the phone). The manager in service was rude, said they dont replace food and they would work on fixing it. 2 weeks later... no calls from either place. I called Mannys and they said they should have some news by next week. In the meantime I dont have a refrigerator that works! NEVER BUY A MAYTAG REFRIGERATOR!!! It is still under warranty and I asked for a new refrigerator... both Mannys and Maytag said no way.

It was fine for about 23months, but now it will not heat up at all We have been unable to get much help from Maytag so are not at all happy with this product. We chose Maytag as it is a replacement for an older Maytag oven and we have a Maytag fridge which will shortly have to be replaced. I bought a Maytag washer 1 year and 1 month ago (MVWB835DW1), Hated this washer since day one. It does not wash clothes very well, does not even cover them fully with water. The mini agitator at the bottom does not move he close it just spins on the bottom of them. Now it started making a very high pitch squeal when it spins and of course it is one month past the manufacture warranty so I call a repairman and the first thing he says to me is Im sorry for your purchase, it was a bad one and it will cost me 600$ to repair because the bearing is bad. And my bad for not getting an extended warranty but I have never had a washing machine work this bad and break within the first 13 month of owning it??? Lesson learned I guess!

I purchased a Maytag Bravos washer and dryer pair in 2009. Over those 5 years I have had at least 8 shirts come out of the washer with tears in the armpits. First I thought it was my armpits destroying the cloth. Then I thought it was cheap cotton (all my shirts are 100% cotton) from foreign manufacturers. Ive had two shirts destroyed this week, this mornings was really thick material. Usually when I remove clothes from the washer, they are entwined and twisted. Consistently when I wash any load including a towel or two, the washer becomes unbalanced. My clothes often have a foul odor after washing. My theory is that the lack of a center agitating spindle is allowing the clothes to tangle, and not really cleaning them. I have to use the extra rinse setting or the clothes come out covered with soap suds. In summary, Im not happy with this washer and will never buy another Maytag appliance. Im also not sure the high-efficiency technology has had all the kinks ironed out.

The engineers at Maytag saved a few pennies by only using one thermistor for temperature control. It is in the box. There is nothing monitoring the temperature in the freezer. If you put your fridge in the garage where the temp is 40 degrees, the motor will never come on, and your frozen foods will melt! In my new MRT118FFFZ01 unit, the temperature in the box varies by plus or minus 3 degrees F, but the freezer varies from minus1 1 to plus 25 degrees F. 36 degrees difference! Lousy design. Have had two service calls, and they both said that this was the way it was designed and there is no fix for it.

Maytag dishwasher MDB7749SBM2 - I purchased this unit from Home Depot. It worked fine when working. In less than two years the control panel had issues. Would not let you start cycle, would randomly start on its own, would light up randomly, would only let one cycle work, would not work at all, etc. I received no help from Maytag. After open up the door panel the problem is obvious. The ribbon cable from touch (control) panel to control board had black spots from corrosion. Poorly insulated or poor design. $150 for part and another $100+ for repairman. As Ive seen from several of these posts it appears to be a common problem now to Maytag, which they choose to ignore in spite of class action lawsuits. Obviously last Maytag product Ill ever buy.

This fridge is a piece of crap. Bought brand new and right after warranty the freezer started freezing up and leaking all over the floor, ruined the wall behind the fridge which created mold as well as the puddle on the floor that multiple people in my home slipped and fell and it started shocking anyone who touches it. Called a repair man he says he doesnt know why its shocking probably is the manufacturers fault as well as the defect causing it to freeze up and leak. I call Maytag and the guy doesnt seem to care that my 7 year old has been shocked and says unplug it and I will just need a new fridge. I already spent the money on the new fridge. Why should I have to go buy a new one now after 2 years, that I cant afford. Its ridiculous how many other people are having problems. Its a defect and should be recalled and they should have replaced the crap fridge they sold me in the first place. You would think for such a big company they would do something but yet people are getting seriously injured and this seems like it should be taken to court for a lawsuit. I am extremely unsatisfied and wont ever buy a Maytag and will let all my family and clients through my cleaning business not to ever purchase a fridge from Maytag.

Ive never seen a washing machine that will wash in WRINKLES! Lastly, I do not like the fact that I have no control over water level. My Maytag refrigerator was purchased from Home Depot less than 3 years ago. It is a French door, bottom freezer draw model #MFI2569VEA1. Every four days, there is a huge puddle of water at the base of the unit and it is starting to ruin my ceramic tiles. I tried the online video solutions to no avail. Home Depot wont repair it, they told me to contact Maytag. Maytag wants me to purchase a $375 warranty, which is 30% of what I paid for the refrigerator. I will never buy a Maytag refrigerator again, or any Maytag product for that matter. They once stood for solid reliability and peace of mind, now you get a piece of junk instead. Same thing as everyone else. The motherboard/control board, the main face of the washer went out and this part isnt covered on an $800 commercial washer after only 3 years of residential use on a commercial washer. Menards refused to swap it out, saying this is Maytags issue. Maytag boasts their 10 year warranty and labels it right on the motherboard as a 10 year warranty, but the motherboard isnt covered? If the main computer isnt covered, What is covered? Just screws? I called Menards and got nowhere. Called Maytag and held for an hour then had to hang up so I can work. The warranty is extremely misleading and is the reason we bought this particular washer, because it says 10 year parts warranty right there, but Maytag conveniently doesnt consider the main control board a part.

We lost our home in a tornado in 2005 and had to buy all new appliances. So, I bought a Maytag Neptune front load washer and dryer. It was my 1st ever. I will never buy another Maytag appliance again. Just at the end of the 5th year going into the 6th year, the bearings started to go. So, I checked with the place where we bought it and was told how expensive it would be to fix. It was anywhere between $500.00 and $700.00. Well, thats crazy. I therefore e-mailed Maytag numerous times and was thanked for my complaint. But they offered no help with this matter. If they dont back their stuff at all, why would I want to buy their stuff? They could have at least offered to help with it. There are only 2 people living in this house and there is no excuse why that washer should start failing already. If I thought it was worth it, I would load it up and drop it off at a Maytag store and leave it there. It still runs. But it makes an awful noise and we are just waiting for it to crap out. I am going to try to sell it for as much as I can get out of it, hopefully before it completely stops. Maybe some fix-it guy would want it. Well tell him whats wrong and they can fix it and sell it to some other poor person. I lost my job in January. Therefore, I cant afford that much to fix it. So, I will now have to try to find something used, because Maytag does not back their stuff. I would rate this machine lower if I could, but that wasnt an option.

I bought my first centennial washer less than four years ago, warrantied that machine out. It was replaced by best buy because of the warranty that I purchased. We are a family of four, with that in mind the replacement machine was a model year newer and it last just over a year and quit. I bought the machine anticipating that it will last me the next 10 years. With two children at home now that is not working, all I have to do on replace a new machine. The repair shop has told me that they get more of the Maytag centennial machines and then any other washing machine is going to cost me more to repair it than to buy a new machine because I had faith in the Maytag products for many many years. This particular machines are extremely hard to diagnose as to what causes the problem or what the problem is and could take a long time to get it fixed as well as the expense of getting it fixed. I would not recommend another Maytag product nor will Maytag ever get any more money from us. This particular product has become a piece of junk that I cant even get rid of to recycling. Maytag has become a joke and this machine has become a 500 dollar hunk of junk in my opinion.
