Maytag Model # MMV4205DS - First Maytag microwave lasted just over a year before it quit. Replaced with same model to avoid install hassle and 1 year and 4 months later got the dreaded open and close door message. Read so many horror stories about repair service for Maytag that I decided not to bother and purchased a GE. I will never ever, ever buy anything Maytag ever again...

I purchased a Maytag dryer (MDE2400AZW) 2 years ago, but have only been using it for the last year - and fairly infrequently, as this is a dryer that my guests use. I called Home Depot where I bought the dryer (along with the washer). I thought I had purchased an extra warranty, but turns out I only had it on the washer - what was I thinking. I wish I had read these reviews before I made my purchase. My local repair man charged me $192.00 for a new heater and his time. Theres a whole 90-day warranty on the new heater!! I sure hope this one lasts more than a year otherwise Ill be buying a new dryer and it wont be Maytag.

My Maytag refrigerator, french door freezer on bottom MFT2976AEMOO has had problems since I bought it. It is with the icemaker in the refrigerator door and freezer. My icemaker has been leaking since we have gotten it dripping water into the refrigerator. The freezer now is not working and all my frozen food thawed out. I am so tired of having workmen coming out to try to repair it. They even took the refrigerator back to the shop and had it for 3 weeks and said it was repaired and told me it was working fine. NOT frozen food, again thawed.

I purchased Maytag Washer and Dryer 3-4 years ago, upgraded to the premium washer and dryer, SS drums and have been dissatisfied from the start. The washer was extremely noisy; we were told this was normal. The dryer began making strange noises just outside the warranty period, and the belt and pulley had to be replaced. I was shocked at the cheapness of the pulley design, but the replacement part was of better quality. The washer began making a horrendous squeak shortly afterwards, again, outside the warranty period. The repairman said that they were all like that, Maytag used inferior transmissions and that it would be cheaper to replace the washer than repairing it. My mother had the same experience with a similar model. Needless to say, I will never purchase another Maytag product. FYI, there are only three people in our household, all adults, light duty use.

350.00 dollars for repair on a 3 1/2 year old washing machine. Machine wont finish spinning and lid lock keeps flashing on and off and sometimes stays off. Never finishes spinning. A lot of complaints on this! This should be recalled! Always was a Maytag customer but no more!

I had my kitchen remodeled less than 4 years ago with a Maytag refrigerator, Bosch dishwasher, and GE stove. I had a 1 year warranty, and purchased additional 2 years. The warranty ran out last year, and the refrigerator is not working. Maytag customer service said all they could offer was 1 year extended warranty for $300. I told them a refrigerator should last longer than 4 years. They agreed, but that is all they did. Ive read other online reviews, and it appears a lot of people are in the same situation (however my fridge is not on a recall list). I will never buy another Maytag product ever! My GE and Bosch appliances are working just fine.

I PURCHASED A WALL OVEN ABOUT 4 months ago. Used the self cleaning, oven blew fuse and some other part, had to wait for almost 2 weeks for repair because of self cleaning liner is now peeling and leaving fine particles. Maytag said it was ok, they would not replace, the liner doesnt have a replacement part so Im going to have to buy a new oven to feel safe for my family meal.

We purchased a Maytag dishwasher in January of 2011. Two years later the entire machine stopped working. We had purchased the extended warranty and the control board and panel were replaced. Now two years later it happens again. Maytag/Whirlpool is of no help nor do they care. DO NOT purchase their product!! Multiple complaints and issues with faulty control panels and the cost to replace one is the same as buying a new dishwasher so they cant lose. I will never again own a Maytag or Whirlpool product.

Buyer Beware!! Purchased my Maytag over the range microwave in May of 2014. It has a manufacture date of Feb. 2014, and it is now Sept. 2014. It is a very nice looking unit but a bit oversized. My handyman that installed it had to raise my cabinets above my stove two inches to avoid it being too close to the range. The motor is pretty loud and It often times does not heat evenly. The light on the unit that shines down on the range is not much better than the power of a night light which is a bit disappointing considering it looks like a higher end unit, and down to the reason I am writing this review today is that for the first time I went to change the bulb. I unscrewed the the light cover which is placed awkwardly toward the very very back of the unit, only to find that when I went to twist out the burnt out bulb (that has been in there since I purchased the unit) that the bulb broke off after hearing what sounded like the break of a seal of glue, and the bottom aluminum piece of the bulb is stuck in the bulb socket. I found that the bulb is placed in an awkward place behind the light cover. Instead of the bulb facing to the left or the right or to the front of the unit it is facing toward the back which is making the bulb socket impossible to see, which means that in order to screw in the bulb you are screwing it in from an angle that you cannot see unless you climb on the range and lay on your back, or get a mirror to help see where you are screwing in the bulb. This is just a very awkward and unpractical design coming from such a well known company with such a common and ordinary product. Now I am sitting here writing this review and I am trying to figure out how I can remove that little piece of aluminum stuck in the light bulb socket and since it is not facing to the left or right and facing toward the back, it leaves me about less than 1/2 space to work with using my hand or a tool to remove that piece, or I can just leave my broken bulb piece in there and screw the cover back on until I call service for Maytag. I believe it is still under warranty but from others experience that I have read about I am not feeling confident I will receive great service or a desirable outcome. Wish me the best!! I purchased My Maytag Washer and Dryer set from Lowe's, which was a very good experience all the way, back in June 2017. After two years I can finally give an honest review. We love this set even though it is not as quiet as the old Maytag washers. Still is but not as. We have not had one bit of trouble from either the washer or dryer. The next size larger would have been the better choice for us since we now have king size bedspreads to wash. It still does the job though, just one piece at a time. A lot of people complain about the smaller amount of water used but it still cleans clothes quite well. If you need more water just use deep water wash or for even more water use the setting for bulky sheets which really fills up the water level.

Clothes are never submerged in water. Clothes come out worse than when they went in. Every review and complaint mentioned is dead on! This Bravos XL is a piece of crap. Stay away from lying salesmen from HH Gregg. And stay away from Maytag. Perhaps we should all get together and file a class action lawsuit! And donate all monies, washing machines and dingy clothes to charity!

I bought my Maytag washer thinking that I was buying a quality product. My washer hardly ever can complete a spin cycle without bumping and knocking and then stopping. I have to babysit this washer because we never know if it will complete a cycle or not. The machine is totally level. We have to adjust almost every load just to wash clothes. Sorry Maytag but this washer is crap and I will never buy anything made by Maytag. What a waste of my money.

Bought new washer and dryer from Home Depot. The worst washer and dryer I ever bought. Own 11 house all have washer and dryers. Bought Maytag on brand reputation. Washer does not rinse close at all. They come out full of lint and soap. It rips sheets up. Takes like 70-90 minutes to wash and close have to be washed over cause they dont rinse out. Dryer takes (2) runs to dry. Depot said they couldnt take them back. $300 Roper washer and dryer work much better than these units I paid like $1100.00 for. Maytag reputation is **. I have Amana front loads in another house that wash in 29 minutes and they come out perfect. Amana dryer works great also. DONT BUY MAYTAG ON THEIR ** REPUTATION AND CONSUMER SERVICE WONT DO ANYTHING!!! I would add the receipt but it just a waste of time.

Bravos XL top loading washer looks nice and very large, but thats about how deep it goes. It leaves even a small load half-unwashed unless you select deep water wash and even then it FAILS TO USE ENOUGH WATER. I tried to go and fill it up once with tap water and it totally DRAINED THE WATER AND SOAP before it unlocked! It was on Deep water wash and the top of the load was totally dry as I dumped the hot water onto it.It is a bad design and it should have never been sold. I know it has special places designed only for HE detergents but when you try to use a Tide Pod the detergent NEVER FULLY WASHES OUT OF THE CLOTHES.... Too small a load, too big a load, exactly 5 pounds or exactly 10 pounds it really doesnt work very well - AT ALL! I was thinking that I might like to get some SHOS at the low price it is but now I can see why they are definitely not getting back into business.

I bought this machine a year and a half ago. The entire drum and spin motor need to be replaced. Maytags warranty only lasted 1 year. I bought it at Home Depot, and also purchased the extended 5 year warranty. The extended warranty is as bad as the washing machine. I am now just 2 days shy of 4 weeks of trying to deal with both parties. Ive had to take my laundry in to have it done. The cost of the laundry, the cost of the machine, and the cost of the warranty is more than $200 more than what Home Depots Extended Protection Plan is willing to reimburse/refund. Home Depot does as much as Maytag when it comes to standing behind what they sell. An $800 washing machine only good for 18 months, really???

I also bought a Maytag refrigerator in 2013. Right after the warranty expired it was forming ice on the bottom and back of the freezer and was not making ice. I called Maytag and they told me they have no complaints on this type of refrigerator. It was also always making a lot of noise. Maytag was supposed to be the quiet one. I will never buy another Maytag product and I will do anything to make sure nobody else does either.

I have a French door fridge Maytag like everyone else. The bottom freezes over and I have to de-ice it. Now the freezer doesnt want to cool. Its 3 years old. Total piece of junk.

I bought a new Maytag refrigerator 5 years ago and it has been nothing but a headache. Ive spent more than $700 getting it repaired. The Maytag repairman is no longer lonely, hes really busy. These units are crap and the company does not stand behind their products.

Bought the Maytag high efficiency washing machine with the auto-sensing and deep water wash feature. It took some getting use to because of all the washing choices and different noises it makes. Auto-sensing seems to use very little water which is strange but clothes seem to come out clean. Best bet for me is like the old school way and use deep water wash and light load which is shorter and thats most efficient power wise but will use more water which is fine by me. Also bought the matching dryer and thats a 5 star review. Excellent product.

In May 2007, I bought a matching Maytag Neptune washer Model MAH5500 and dryer. I also bought the 3-year extended warranty. Approximately 4 years later, actually 1 month after the warranty had expired, the washer started to get very loud and sounded like a jet engine taking off. I called Brennen Repair Service in Midland, Michigan. The repair man came out and said he did not even have to look at the washer. He knew what was wrong. The bearings were going in the machine. He said I could fix it for approximately $600 or just run it till it quits. I was furious. I called Maytag and explained my issue and was told that there was not a recall and they could do nothing to help me. They even told me that they had not had any complaints of this nature regarding this model. I told them they were full of it. I know of at least 4 people in my family and workplace that have had to replace the Maytag front loader piece of ** washing machine. I think Maytag should stick behind their product with all the complaints out there. I would like to shove my washer through their front window. I previously owned a Maytag washer for 25 years and had not one issue. It ran perfectly. I will never buy another Maytag product nor will anyone in my family. Maytag, you suck. Your service and reputation is appalling.

My fiance bought this dishwasher 5 years ago but has never been able to use it due to the fact he is disabled and unable to open the door. When I moved in 4 months ago, I began using it regularly 2-3 times a week. Yesterday, I loaded it and when I hit the start button, it did nothing. The lights come on but the start button doesnt seem to be working. I have torn it apart twice and after looking all over the internet have determined that the control panel is bad. We live on a very fixed income and fixing something like this will take a large part of our budget. I am shocked that something so expensive can only last a few months then stop with no warning. We will be calling and adding our names to the list for the class action lawsuit here in California.

Bought a Maytag Bravos x MVWX700XX1 about 2 years ago and now the agitator barely moves and makes a very loud grinding noise. Never had a major appliance wear out so fast..is a piece of junk. Will never buy another Maytag product ever again. Their old ads about the Maytag guy being bored because he never needed to fix anything should be considered false advertising.

We purchased a Maytag dishwasher & installed Aug 15 2012. After installation the control panel wasnt working & Lowes replaced the dishwasher with the same model. After the years warranty was up I started having trouble with the second dishwasher panel. I limped along with it for months until I could not get it to work at all. A repairman came and said that the touchpad & board was damaged. He said it wasnt hooked up properly. After an estimate of over three hundred dollars we decided to rid ourselves of it and purchased another, cheaper brand. Was out 79 dollars for the repair estimate & over 500.00 for the Maytag dishwasher. Plus a new one installed for 700.00. Had the use of this appliance less than two years.

Purchased our Maytag Bravo Quiet Series 300 about 5 years ago and came to this site to read about other washing machine complaints because I am looking for a new washer. Was SHOCKED to hear so many similar complaints to mine (our local appliance store who sold us this unit, as well as services it, said this was unusual). Tiny holes in all our clothes! Black marks on clothes! Dirty clothes! LOUD & BUMPY washing - will sometimes walk itself around the laundry room, slamming into wash sink & dryer (there are dents to prove the violence). UL light that stops the machine & cant be resolved even after I untangle & lift water-soaked items. Finally started seeing black marks splattering out from under machine & was told the bearing is bad and the case (?) is leaking? ... Anyway, result to repair is MORE THAN ITS WORTH.Also have a 3 year old Maytag Quiet Series 300 DISHWASHER, that does not clean well, sometimes leaves half the dishes untouched (dry & dirty), grinds food waste & redistributes onto dishes before baking it on tight (requires soaking to loosen, then wash by hand) ... Oh, and is NOT quiet! I was told I probably use TOO MUCH SOAP. Seriously?!? My complaint is NOT soap residue ... It is D.I.R.T. How can you run a load and still have sauce & ketchup that dripped onto the inside of the door when loading the dishwasher STILL on the inside of the door??? Darn thing cant even clean itself!

Updated on 01/21/2019: I have contacted Maytag numerous times with no results. I purchased a washer and dryer on 2/7/2018 and the dryer takes hours to dry my clothes. I contacted them 2 months after my purchase and then waited and contacted again and again. I have contacted them numerous time with nobody contacting me back. I want a complete full refund in the amount of $1031.06! I want to purchase another washer and dryer from someone else and purchase both so they match.Original Review: Maytag MCT Dryer - The washer I purchase is great but the dryer doesnt dry worth anything. Dont buy it. Takes me hours to dry one load and the only reason I purchased this was because my old dryer was drying less but actually was better than this one. The time sensored dryer isnt worth 5 cents. So disappointed! I have had it 2 months, paid cash at Lowes and so unhappy!

I have a 2 year old Maytag Dishwasher (barely used - it is a weekend house) MDB7749sbm1 and the control panel went out about 2 months ago – I followed another person’s advise of hitting normal and heated dry buttons 3x quickly and that seems to wash the dishes – not sure what cycle it is on because all the lights go on including 2 hr delay. I called Maytag and they kept me on the phone and hold with multiple agents for 34 mins and finally agreed to send someone at no cost to see if the problem can be fixed with no cost to me. I will keep you updated.

My Maytag washing machine is rusting out at less than three years! [Photos included]. I have called customer service twice, spoken to two different women and have been told that it is a cosmetic issue [Model MTW2541240; Serial CW2541240 ]. The last e-mail with photos was sent to Gwendolyn **. I indicated that the rust has ruined very expensive sheets, other clothing, towels. It took me a long time to figure out what was causing the spots on the clothes. There is rust on the outside of the machine, the lid and inside the actual drum which holds the water. The machine is a lemon. You have me registered in your system with the date of purchase.My question to you, since when is rust in the inside of a washing machine a cosmetic issue? Are you aware of this issue? Do you as the CEO believe this is what is acceptable for a Maytag washing machine? I firmly suspect this issue is beyond my washer based on my research with various stores and sales people. They are telling me I am not the first with this issue, non-Lowes stores. I purchased the machine at Lowes and because no one at Whirlpool was responsive to him or to Lowes, he is offering to apply the refund to a new Lowes washing machine. I am now in the process of searching my credit card records from Sept-Oct 2008 which is when I bought the machine.I would like not to be restricted to Lowes for another washing machine. I will notify Rick ** (at the Lowes Turtle Creek, Coconut Creek store in Florida, telephone 954 346-3993) of this letter to you so that you and Rick dont think I am trying to obtain a double refund. I just want the full value of the washer back so that I will have a choice in the replacement. The selection at Lowes is limiting. I will upgrade to more of a commercial washer and pay the difference. I wanted you to be made aware of this issue.

Had some extra time, so I thought Id add my .02 to those including myself disgusted with Maytag products! 1st up, the Maytag washer and dryer I purchased from my nephew after his divorce. The washer shot craps 2 months after I bought it from him (out of warranty of course!). The transmission went out - cost to repair $550.00. My nephew paid $350.00 new at Sears. We happened to have our ol reliable clanking GE, so we used that while deciding what to do about the washer. In the meantime, the dryer quit heating. Cost to replace heating element - 400 smackers! Dryer new at Sears was $250.00.Come to find out that even though they had Maytag names on the washer/dryer, they were cheap copies by White/Westinghouse. Well anyway we bought a set of Whirlpool Duets before doing our homework, cuz if we knew what was gonna happen... Before we knew the trouble we were going to have with the washer/dryer, we got a Maytag Quiet Series 300 dishwasher (Maytag Quiet Series 300 MDBTT60AWW). Yip, the control panel failing problem! Only purchased 1 so far (only 1?!), but my wife likes to hand wash the dishes. If we were the typical family using the dishwasher all the time, I would have replaced more than 1 at a cost of $135.00 each from Sears and doing my own R&R work, saving on the labor. Cost new at Lowes - $350.00Up next is the Maytag fridge. I purchased it back when our 2 boys were at home. I bought it mainly for the name and large capacity. After about a year (yip out of warranty) the cooling was very uneven. Sometimes the freezer would defrost by itself, then it would start working ok again. The top couple of racks in the fridge would be quite a bit warmer than the bottom. I understood the top racks would be a little warmer, but Im talking like 15 degrees. I called a repairman and told him about the problem. He said hes received numerous complaints on this particular fridge, and theres really no way to repair it unless the electronics are replaced as well as the compressor because as the compressor gets weak over time, the electronics get fouled up by this. Cost new - $1300.00. Estimate over the phone cost to repair - $950.00 with no guarantees. Replaced with a SamsungAs far as the Duets? No problems so far. They work great and we are very pleased by them. But I have did my research and am holding my breath! I also have a Maytag microwave thats still working, but has did a couple of unusual things - the lights in the front panel display started flashing showing a fault. I unplugged it when its did this to reset it. That was a while back and now it seems ok. At least for now!When someone says, Yeah, well, you might just have a lemon, but the rest of Maytags appliances are fantastic! My wife and I when we hear this are ready for a fight! Weve had experience with all of Maytags products, and with the exception of the Duets (so far), they are nothing but junk!! Another thing I wish to mention is the Samsung fridge. Its about the only model that has a factory 5-year warranty on the compressor and major components. Weve had several fridges in our married life, and the Samsung is far superior to any fridge weve owned. Ill be looking to that brand in the future. The last item I promise: If you read the reviews on front load washers, none of them get very good ratings. If I would have know that, I may have purchased a top load. But the Duet washer does do a superior job (IMO) cleaning the clothes, and the clothes are virtually dry after the last spin.

Maytag Oven MGR8670WS1 - Purchased in the Fall of 2011 (along with a fridge... also faulty the freezer stopped working within a year). Ive had the oven stop working twice (in 2012). This week (spring 2014) would be the third time. It seems to be a faulty ignitor already replaced having to be replaced yet again. I have never used such faulty appliances EVER and never AGAIN. This is absolutely ridiculous.

I too had to replace the control panel on my Maytag dishwasher which I purchased in 2007. I was told by my repairman to contact Maytag to see if they would do anything for me. When I called Maytag, I asked them if there were any issues with the control panels as I had heard there have been multiple issues with them needing to be replaced. I was told they had no record of any complaints and offered to sell me an extended warranty for $269, but there was nothing else they could do for me. I ultimately had my repairman order the part and it was replaced. My repairman did say Maytag did upgrade the panel because of all the issues they were having with the panel. Hopefully, they have fixed the problem and it will not have to be replaced again. But if it does, I will not replace it again. I will look into a new dishwasher and definitely not a Maytag. Yes, I would be interested in joining a class action suit.

We bought this stove because of the self cleaning oven feature. What a ripoff! The Aqualift technology simply does not do the job that it is supposed to do. As the lady of the house says, Self cleaning means clean it yourself. Whoever engineered this thing needs to go back to school. Adding insult to injury, we have adjusted the oven temperature to its highest and it still cooks so low that a cake has to be cooked for half as long again than the recipe calls for or the middle of it is still raw. We would like to sell the stove but would hate to burden someone else with this piece of junk.

Let me make it simple for you, DO NOT PURCHASE A MAYTAG/WHIRLPOOL product. Maytag/Whirlpool believes its products should work for 1 year and then become obsolete, at least this is what the Maytag/Whirlpool customer service line told me. I purchased a MVWB950YW (Bravos XL) top loader on September 4th, 2012 for $948.00 plus $99.00 for an extended warranty. The washer worked marginally well when it was brand new. June 2014, the washer in spin mode started to sound like a freight train was about to run through my house. When I called for service the service company immediately signaled it was a bad bearing and offered me $500 to put towards a new or refurbished Maytag!!! They claimed if they were to repair the machine it would VOID the extended service contract?? I wanted the washer fixed, I did not want to spend more money to buy a new machine. I continued to use the machine as is, with the incredibly loud noise. June 2015, the same machine starts to leak water and is even louder. Again the company in charge of the service contract offers money for me to put towards a new or refurbished machine. Net is, Maytag/Whirlpool engineers its products based on its warranty - 1 year. Anything after that they view as an opportunity to steal more money from you and I the consumer. Do yourself a favor and NEVER purchase a Maytag/Whirlpool product. I would like to think American products are superior to its foreign counterparts, however Maytag/Whirlpool is not in this league. In my opinion, Maytag/Whirlpool has lost the privilege to call itself American and should no longer be allowed to do business in this country.

My dishwasher just stopped working 1 year after purchase. Apparently a control panel issue. I have sold Maytag appliances for over 10 years and this is the thanks I get Maytag... Unreal. I wont buy a Maytag, Amana, Whirlpool, Jenn-Air, KitchenAid, etc.

I have a major complaint with the Maytag double oven design. With the smaller oven above, if you spill any liquid while taking something out of the top oven, the liquid drips down between the two panes of glass on the lower oven door. This makes it impossible to clean. Maytags reply - call a service rep and have him make a house call and take the door apart for you and clean it. Not warranty work so I would have to do this every few months. Also, when baking in the upper oven, cakes and cookies tend to overcook on the bottom as the dishes are so close to the element.

I read the reviews before I bought this washer, went to a major department store to buy it. This way I knew that I could get good support if something happened to it. Its been 3 months, I use the washer everyday. There are 4 adults in my building, they use it daily. I have never had a problem yet, the clothes come out cleaner than the front loader I have. It seems Maytag still makes a good product. I am the first to admit, when you make large number of products you will have some with a defect. But this washer the Centennial by Maytag works great.. Plenty of water in the tub, the clothes come out clean.. Maybe those people having problems need to stop buy at big box home centers. Theyre known for lumber not washers.

Products spoiling even if set at recommended temperature. Hard to clean bottom freezer. Not happy with this configuration. Had to have repairmen in because of stopped up drain which I could not access to clean myself. Does not close completely at times.

The worst wash machine Ive ever used. It doesnt clean clothes well. It constantly had error codes. Im constantly having to unplug and reset the machine and 4 times out of five it will NOT restart. Not to mention it stinks worse than my sewer. I have to run the refresh cycle every four to eight loads. Ive owned this machine three years. And it has been three years too long. I will go back to a ringer washer or a wash board and have better results.

I bought a new Maytag dryer model # MEDC555DW2 18 months ago. Prior I had owned a Whirlpool for 22 years and the only expense on maintenance was that I replaced 3 belts. This new Maytag started making a terrible noise so I called the store where I bought and they sent out a tech. $76.77 they charged me to...remove a penny from where it got lodged in the edge of the drum somehow. Maytag refuses to do anything about it and I feel like Ive gotten the shaft because I bought an inferior product. In 22 years Id guess I dried on accident over 100 dollars in change since I have kids. Should have bought a Whirlpool again and so should you. Ill never buy another Maytag product. Ever.

Oven was purchased and put in May 2014. I have not be able to use. The oven temperature is off. If the oven is used at 500 degrees the temperature is really 900. I thought I had a gas leak because I got a bad headache because of the smell. The gas co told me to get a repair person to look at it. Maytag has been horrible to deal with. I have taken 3 separate days off trying to get it fixed. The last Maytag repair man had the nerve to ask me where the gas line was. He shut the wrong off and had a gas leak in my house. I had to open all windows. He was supposed to come back the next day. He did not and I received no calls. I have paid for an oven that is dangerous that I cannot use. I feel Im being treated this way because I am an older woman. I will never buy another Maytag.

We bought our Legacy Washer and Dryer from Home Depot in December, 2005. Luckily we also bought the one year warranty, because in January 2006, our washer quit running. We called Home Depot, we got the runaround and I think Maytag sent someone out. When he tipped the washing machine over, a belt was off. He said it happens. The next year, something else went wrong with the washing machine (not under warranty anymore) and I paid $129 for that visit. Three weeks ago, the spin dry quit doing a good job on the extended spin cycle. Tonight, I put a load of clothes in and though the washer sounded like it was agitating the clothes, when I lifted the top I saw it was just noise, no agitating. I cannot afford the service call, let alone the whole repair or a new washer.

I purchased a Maytag dishwasher on Oct. 12, 2013. The control panel failed in July 2013 and had to be replaced. I was unable to program a wash cycle and the lights would move all around the front. After the first failure, I was told that the control panel would only be covered for 3 months - the original purchase date for the washer, NOT the date of the NEW control panel. I was then talked into an extended service plan. Now, four months later, the control panel has failed again and I am unable to program a normal wash. A repair man is not scheduled to come for another 9 days. As a single homeowner, this product is not used even on a daily basis. I will never purchase another Maytag washer. They do not back their product with appropriate repairs.

My dishwasher like many others have mentioned is experiencing the same control panel issues. When I set it to Wash, it spontaneously goes to Rinse Only. I am unsure exactly the age, but given the number of complaints Ive read, with the same problem, it seems as though, there was a flaw many years ago in design and regardless of issues hasnt been resolved with the newer models either. I realize appliances dont last forever, but Maytag was always known for the lonely repairmen and Id hoped the brand would continue to live up to its advertising, despite being purchased by Whirlpool.

Bought a Maytag Model #MDB8949SAMO dishwasher. After LESS THAN 2 years the motherboard stopped working. Called Maytag to complain, but was told they couldnt do anything. I would give the dishwasher less than a star but the rating system wont allow it.

We just received a Maytag delivered by Home Depot. THe box the diswasher came in was soaking wet. I called within 30 mins of delivery to report this. Home Depot called and Maytag refuses to replace the diswasher stating that it comes wrapped. No it does not, the diswasher and insulation were soaking wet. Maytags response is just let it air out. So Im supposed to air out a 470.00 brand new dishwasher. Home Depot is also getting its one star review for refusing to replace it and letting the third party contractor get away with delivering a damaged unit.

Do not recommend any top loader. The washer dont wash at all. My clothes just sits there floating in the water on deep fill. I have some white with metallic like marks. Ive have soap left in my clothes. I watched one load of clothes. It had a neon shirt, the shirt stayed on top with the bubbles, it just floated along around in circles. The service was crap too. I called about the metallic markings. They said it was normal and should go away after 15 - 20 loads. I cant afford to replace my clothes.

We purchased a Maytag Top Load 5.4 cu ft efficiency washing machine. May 2019. It was making a funny noise already mid October and we had 8 parts replaced. After that it completely stopped working. We have been without a working washing machine for 2 months now. The technician has been to our house 4 times. When he came on Dec 31st to replace the mother board, that didnt solve the problem. He says the washing machine can not be repaired. We have been fighting with Maytag Canada and Lowes since the beginning of December. Neither company cares. We will never own another Maytag product. The company are crooks.

Every appliance in my kitchen is Maytag. I went with Maytag because its made in America and now Im annoyed. The microwave died after about 5 years and since I had a spare, I have yet to repair it. I am just now removing the panel to see whats going on in the inside so I can replace whatever broken part is broken. The double oven I have Ive had to repair twice. Once I had to replace a capacitor on the board because it blew. It cost me zero to replace it as I have an old home theater system I part out. The next item was the control pad itself which I tried to repair but had to replace for $200. The dishwasher died after 6 years of use and after replacing the control pad (couldnt be repaired), it still didnt work. And I got a replacement from my wifes dad who was moving and had to get rid of his. Ultimate timing. I purchased a Maytag refrigerator instead of a Samsung like an idiot (which I suppose I am at this point). The fridge leaks water because the drain plug is jammed and it will take a lot of work to get back there to unjam it. I think Maytag wants to sell you expensive parts that are doomed to break after a couple years of normal use. They want to send repair guys out to your house to charge you to fix their junk. I cant wait to move and buy all Samsung products and do away with this Maytag relationship once and for all.

This product is not worth the money or irritation. It does not wash your clothes well and now mine wont spin. I have to completely unplug the machine and start it up to drain and spin. It takes 1 1/2 to wash one load of clothes. Its supposed to be energy efficient. Im pretty sure its not! I waste more time and electric doing a load of clothes than it takes to dry a load of clothes. Im dumping this thing for a real washer, one that works. I do not recommend this washing machine. I purchased the Bravo at Lowes.

I purchased a new Maytag fridge apx 8 months ago (model# MFF2258VEW6). It has french doors and a bottom freezer and from day 1 it has constantly leaked water all over my kitchen floor. I started putting towels in front of it after my first slip and fall. I had the water line checked for the ice maker and it was fine. It continued leaking day after day. Then I started getting a lot of ice build up all over the drawers and on my frozen food, which became freezer burned and I only had the temp at 2. They have a warranty on it, so called the company and they brought me a loaner fridge of the same kind.. OMG this fridge is doing the same exact thing, even worse. I am disabled and fell last night again and my leg and foot is so swollen.. I really hurt myself and Im not going to let this company get away with this!! I called the company and told them and they are checking into what they can do with the refrigerator. After reading all the about the Maytag bottom fridge leaks and other problems, I refuse to get the same one again. If they do not do something, I promise I will before I get hurt again!

This washer ( MHW3505FW) leaks, is crazy loud, water wont drain, clothes smell bad after washing, defective drain pump, defective mother board. Only had 2 1/2 months and it broke. Maytag refused to refund me and Lowes refused as well. Thankfully I paid by credit card. Am disputing the charge. Terrible washer should be recalled. Many complaints on this washer. Very disappointed and upset.

I bought my Maytag dishwasher on September 4, 2013. In August 2014 the control panel went out. (Sound familiar?) The dishwasher was still under warranty, so I called Maytag. It took 3 tries to find a repair person who would come out on my schedule. (Im a teacher and cant take time off.) They installed the new control panel, and it working. I tried to submit a review on Maytags website, but my review was denied. I guess they didnt want to hear the truth.

I have a Maytag washer that I bought new in 1995! It is still washing my clothes like a champ. It must be true - the Maytag repairman is a lonely soul, in all these years I have never had to call him!

We have had our side by side Kenmore for years and it hasnt let us down! We eat mostly fresh food since we cook a lot and we always have plenty of space for our food. We are only a family of 2 though. They say the ice maker is the first to fail and it has not given us any issues for nearly 10 years now! Love Kenmore!

We bought the Bravo XL set 11 months ago and the washer leaks all over the place.. Called Maytag and had the repairman show up. Upon arrival he told us these were the worst machines to buy and would never recommend to anyone. He also said that business has been great due to all of this.. He checked the washer and said the water pressure was too high and lowered it. He couldnt find anything wrong with it. After he left I started a load and sure enough it was the same. Called him right back and he said to call Maytag because he was going to another repair job. I called Maytag again and they said to call the repair guy.. Never again will we ever buy Maytag.

This Bravos top load was supposed to be energy efficient but after leaking and getting a repair estimate ($79) the technician informed me that the ring and putter tub (all cheap plastic) had several large holes in thin caused by an uneven load. Total cost of repair was $517 for a $900 washer after 3 years. He suggested that the Maytag was junk and that I buy a speed queen...LOL. When I called Maytag of course they lied and said they were not aware of any problems and would not help with the cost of repairs. Can everyone say Class Action Lawsuit...Shame on Maytag! DO NOT BUY THIS washing machine!

Had side-by-side refrigerator for over 12 months - Went completely dead - Would need $500 work!!!!! Just got less 6 months. Now need filter for water and air filter!!!!!! I wish I can give it less than one star!!!!

We got our Maytag fridge approx.18 months ago. There was no trouble the first year and there has been nothing but trouble for the last five months. The freezer started frosting one day which causes temp to get in danger zone - we defrost it with a hair dryer about every week and it has continued to frost up ever since. We have a friend that works for a certified Maytag repair business. He came to our rescue five times and called Maytag hot line for help.Together, they could only suggest that the gasket be replaced. He could not see anything wrong with it but we changed it just in case. Still, the problem continues. When we called Maytag customer service (877-556-57420), we were told that no one has had the problem before us. We just looked online; there are 521 complaints about Maytag. My question now is, how do we get a class action lawsuit going?

I reviewed lots of reviews, and decided that the negative reviews ones were sour grapes or uninformed customers! WRONG! Do not buy this washer. I replaced a 16 year old Frontloader Bosch! Should have had the Bosch repaired, but wanted a topload for a change, new look etc. From day 2 the washer began to squeal during the early cycle and at the end as well. Maytag repair was out for an unrelated repair on another appliance. I told the tech about it and he suggested its brand new etc, give it time to settle in.Now 4 months in and another service call to tell me its nothing!! It squeals so loud I can not run it while in the next room. I have videoed it and sent it to the Maytag repair in Glenwood Springs, and he said I should load it only full enough to see the impeller at all times!!!! Forget a full load of work clothes or a pillow or blanket. Which is to be expected to be able to wash. He said I needed to spread the clothes out manually along the outer sides of the TUB only, prior to washing the clothes! not over the impeller. I am not kidding! This is a open tub, so the impeller is the little thing in the middle on the bottom. I advised him, I videoed the event and even with three socks in it for a test it still squeals like a (well you get the idea). Trying to get Maytag help, but nowhere. Matching dryer door hinge broke first week, it has been repaired. Not good quality at all for the top of line Maytag. Then Maytag Man must be busier these days, than of old.

I bought the dryer (Maytag Gas Bravo Dryer) from Home depot in December of 2010. The thermostat went out in July of 2011 and has replaced the same part 5 times up until August of 2011. Then they put a new burner with a thermostat and it lasted till June 1 of 2012. Now the warranty is out, they want me to repair this piece of **. I will never buy a Maytag product again.

I purchased a white Maytag gas stove over 12 years ago. It has been great and never caused any problems. I live alone and rarely use the oven. However, I use the stovetop daily for cooking. With continual use, it has a lot of nicks and scratches. It also has stains inside the glass oven panel that I cant clean. The glass would have to be removed in order to clean inside. This is why I give a rating of 4 stars. If I used the oven more frequently, I would notice if it had any problems with the temperature, proper cooking, etc. and could give a more accurate rating. I have small toaster oven and therefore, I cook practically all of my meals in the toaster oven.

I purchased my Maytag Bravos Washer/Dryer several years ago, and I have hated them ever since. The clothes smell and are wrinkled. The dryer never gets the clothes dry. It will run and run and run, and the clothes will still be wet. I previously owned a Maytag Washer/Dryer for nearly 20 years and never had a problem. This set is a piece of junk. When I go to Lowes or any store for that matter and see someone considering this product, I warn them as quickly as possible to stay away from this product. I will continue to do so. Shame on you, Maytag, for making such a horrible product and for being too weak to stand behind your product. I will never buy Maytag again and will do my best to make sure none else does either.

Model MFT2776FE200 worst purchase of my life! We purchased the Maytag French Door Refrigerator last year. Within a few months, freezer failed and we had to have a retrofit done. Less than one year it has failed again. No refrig for over one month and still no parts. Hundreds of dollars of wasted food and I’m asked by Maytag Service if I have an extended Warranty. I didn’t realized that a new refrig needed to have an extended warranty. Will NEVER purchase another Maytag product again. We are devastated that spending 3k on a fridge means you might as well throw your money to the wind.

In October of 2011, I purchased a $1,199 Maytag Bravos Washing Machine. It recently started making a really loud noise during the spin cycle (REALLY loud). I had a local appliance repair guy come and he told me the main tub bearings are bad, sealer is defective and that it would not be cost effective to fix it.I called Maytag and they offered to sell me another one for $839. I am very dissatisfied that I only got 4 years out of a $1,199 machine!!! Ridiculous!! I wouldnt mind a minor repair that cost a few hundred to fix... I get that. But for it to be junk in 4 years... I have a hard time with that for the price. My appliance guy said it was junk when I bought it. Year ago, you got 15 to 20 years out of a good washing machine. Now... I buy a high end machine and it lasts 4 years. And why would I spend another $839 for the same piece of junk!!! That would be throwing good money after bad. It is not going to happen. I promised Maytag that I would post as many reviews about their product as possible... so everyone can know that they make a lousy, defective product and charge a very high price for something that will not last. Dont buy it!!

I bought a French door refrigerator on May 23, 2012. It is now July 9, 2014 and the repairman has told me the compressor is bad. Maytag will do nothing about it because it is out of the 1 year warranty. I am very disappointed because I thought I was buying a quality appliance. I will never purchase another Maytag appliance!

Like many I have never wasted my time writing a review, this time I have had it. Purchased all new appliances from Maytag, biggest mistake I have made in the last 10 years. Front loading washer is the main culprit. Doesnt clean clothes, have had to replace the rubber boot on the inside twice now, machine is only 3 years old. Maytag basically treats you like youre stupid, resend instructions like that will fix their broken P.O.S machine. I will never buy another Maytag and will be sure to let everyone know what a piece of garbage, from machine to company! Sad that the overall reviews on my machine are 1.3/5 stars on Maytags own website. Oddly, I cannot write any review on their site, Maytag must have realized what a POS theyve been selling and now block reviews. Im thinking that we should get enough owners together and file a class action lawsuit, maybe that would change their tune??? Never BUY MAYTAG, PLEASE keep in mind THEY are UNDER AN UMBRELLA with WHIRLPOOL and MANY OTHER MAJOR PLAYERS... Do not let them scam you the way they did me! If you work hard for your money spend it on a more reputable brand that will not try to stick it to you because they build junk!

I purchased my Maytag Bravos XL MCT because It could wash King size comforters/bed linen. I needed a machine that was large capacity. Also it was an HE washer that cut my water usage down quite a bit and reduced my water cost. Also this machine did a great job of cleaning my clothes and household items. The features were good. Variety of load type water temp if it was delicate, bedding, denim and more. I have had it for 5 years and so far no problems. It came with a 10 year warranty.

Our Maytag refrigerator is leaking water all over my kitchen floor to the point that my floor tile has lifted. The ref. is a French door with water and ice in the door and freezer on the bottom. We have been cleaning up puddles of water at least several times a day. I see that this is not an isolated problem, as others have complained about this defect doing the same thing with their Maytag refs. Why hasnt ConsumerAffairs demanded a recall on these expensive defective refrigerators to date? I am truly disgusted.

Purchased a Maytag top loader. Hand wash clothes leaves a soap residue on clothes. Called Maytag they sent service out. Service tech said (off the record) the design of the machine does not produce enough water, but reported that machine works. Called Maytag again and they said they would need to send out a Master technician. So I set up another appointment (had to take more time off from work) with the Master technician. It was the same guy that came the week before! He didnt bother coming in to look at it! Called Maytag again and they said they would only be able to schedule a service call and if they come out and there is nothing wrong with machine, I would have to pay for the service call!!! I asked for a supervisor and explained why would I do that and he said they would send out another service technician from another service company and I wouldnt have to pay for it. He also offered me an extended warranty for a year for free. Thats great, but my machine is not fixed. This service technician said (off the record too) top loader machines are no good, do not buy, not enough water. He was there less than 5 minutes. Just got off phone with Maytag again and they can no longer do anything else, that the machine is working. I explained to the gentleman that yes the machine fills with a little bit of water and drains the water but it does NOT clean the items! Not going to let this happen to someone else. Plan on spreading the word to everyone to NOT BUY A MAYTAG TOP LOAD WASHING MACHINE. DOES NOT CLEAN YOUR CLOTHES. CONSTANT RESIDUE LEFT ON CLOTHES!

So disappointed in Maytag - I have a 2013 Bravos washing machine that if I had it repaired again (less than a year after I had it repaired the first time and just over two years since we brought it home) the cost is going to two times the purchase price. And because it is just out of warranty Maytag is doing nothing about it, even though they know there is a flaw in their design.

I bought as a pair the Maytag Heavy Duty Washer and Gas Dryer 30+ years ago The pair are like a Timex watch --takes a licking and keeps on ticking. They have never failed me and I have never had to call the Maytag repairman.

Recently May 2019, bought a Maytag Bravos Washer, HE. Its now installed and so disappointed with this product. Not enough water to wash Clothes. Would of taken cashback from Maytag, but cant wait 6 to 8 weeks for cashback. 6 to 8 weeks after they have washer picked up. How long did we want to go without clean clothes, hummm. Problem was looked at by a professional appliance repair company sent by Maytag. His opinion, suggestion was, washer just didnt deliver enough water to wash clothes. I know its HE, suppose to me water miser, but Maytag Bravos just doesnt give enough WATER. How do we get clean cloth like that. As I mentioned in summary, I have added attachment close proximity to add water to washer raising water level to wash Cloth. Yes with proper water it does clean good, JUST NOT A AUTOMATIC WASHER now. Were only two, Rural NB, up to 3-4 washes per week, more when company around.

Is there any place to give a zero to this Maytag Front Load Washing Machine Model MHW5500FW1 and if there is a class action lawsuit please include us! We have owned other Maytag Washing Machines and never experienced such an epic failure as we have with this washing machine! We were so excited when we purchased our new Maytag washer/dryer set in March of 2018 we even remodeled our pantry/laundry room to accommodate them! As the chief operator of the washing machine, I have literally cried at what a mistake weve made! We have no complaint of the Maytag dryer. Let me describe my new normal procedure for laundering a load of clothes. First, load the washer with clothes then press power/cancel then press rapid wash let the clothes get HOPEFULLY saturated with water then hit hold to start and then hit power/cancel this shuts off the washing machine. I then press power/cancel again and select normal and the water empties out of the washing machine from the prior load and then starts to refill, if the add a garment light comes on (when it wants too) and no I dont change any pre-set settings I am able to add extra water with a pitcher, if this procedure works I let the washer run its 1-hour and 48-minute cycle. If not, I have to start over again because the add garment light wouldnt come on to allow the door to unlock. After the clothes are finished I again press power/cancel then hit rapid wash put my fabric softener in the dispenser press hold to start and let it run its 36-minute cycle making sure my clothes are rinsed appropriately and not stiff because of the lack of water. I neglected to say that when Ive tried tricking the washer and think I am able to add extra water, if Ive added too much the sensing kicks in and the washing machine drains all the water out on its own and refills with the little water it allows! Which is maddening! I throw up my hands and sit down and cry!!! I have contacted Maytag/Whirlpool complaining about the lack of water and their wacky water sensor! I asked them how can you conserve water and electricity when you have to wash your clothes over and over with long wash cycles? This doesnt make sense! My white clothes are now dingy and stiff as well as the colored. Maytag says you can use powdered detergents if its HE High Efficiency powdered detergents, but thats not true. The detergent doesnt dissolve and ends up on the clothes at the end of the long wash cycle because of the lack of water! From the beginning I adjusted the amount of powdered detergent for the front load washer and have to dissolve it in hot water prior to washing and hopefully am able to add it to the clothes if the add a garment will let me! I have now resorted to extra cycles to rinse out any remaining detergent hoping my clothes will be soft and fresh smelling. I had planned to replace my old Maytag agitator washing machine with this piece of junk front loader, fortunately we kept our old washing machine as a back up!

Bought my Maytag washer and dryer as a set in Feb 2011...like many, I did not get the extended warranty, as I thought this was a great brand. Ive had nothing but problems with both. The dryer takes two rounds to dry, the lint filter is wet and rusted. The belt has popped off and needed to be put back on..The washer does not clean very well. Ive replaced the shift actuator because it was not spinning, now it sounds like a turbo jet taking off. And as of a week ago, my washer started leaking underneath. Paid a tech to come look at it and said my motor was done and Im better off buying a new washer and even recommended that I do Not buy Maytag! So I googled Maytag Bravos and seen all the poor reviews and realized I wasnt the only one! My set is 3 years old and its ridiculous that Ive had these issues, as so many has. Extremely disappointed of this brand and I too, will not be buying Maytag ever again!!

We are having the same problems with the drain clogging and bottom of the freezer filling with ice and then water all over the floor. We currently de-ice the freezer once a week. After paying top dollar for what is advertised as a top product, we expect better service. Especially when Maytag is fully aware of this problem. We sent an email of complaint to Maytag. Heard from them today. They would pay for the replacement part but not the labor. Most places around here charge $250.00 just to walk in the door!!! Is Maytag kidding?!?! NEVER AGAIN. Will also tell anyone who will listen to stay away from Maytag. No wonder they dont belong to the Consumer Resources group!!

We purchased both a new Maytag washer & dryer in 2011. Our dryer, Model #7000XG1 all of the sudden started thumping when we were drying our laundry. After we called a technician to come out, he stated we had a crack in our drum. How in the heck does that happen in 4 years time and only laundering for 2 people? Of course this steel drum should not wear out before the other parts, but it did. Since there is a backorder on the replacement drum, it makes you wonder if this problem is wider than it seems. Also, Maytag would do nothing for us other than offer us the purchase of a new dryer at a discounted rate good for only 7 days of their offer. Seriously, how about standing behind your product? And, then again, why would we be enticed to spend that kind of money on the same type of product that has flaws? Uh, duh Maytag or Whirlpool. Silly fools you are.

The new Maytag commercial brand is different than the traditional Maytags. Uses less water. The new technology in the variety of choices for cycles and the steam cleaning for the dryer is a great feature.

This Maytag is about 7 years old now, at least, and is still running strong. The one thing I do miss, though, is the lint collector basket that used to be on GE washers Ive had in the past. Kleenexes have a sneaky way to getting into the laundry and picking out the remnants is a royal pain! The lint basket on the GE would save me that task.

We purchased this product from Lowe’s in 2009. We liked it for the first 6 months. Then it started putting holes in our clothes, the washer smells bad, coins get stuck, and make noise. Something needs to be done because there are thousands of upset consumers out there, all with the same complaints and Maytag does nothing. It’s not Lowe’s fault. They didnt make the washer. We have spent thousands of dollars and have had NO compassion or support whatsoever!!!!!! We expect a full refund for this Failure of YOUR product & a NEW Machine that will CLEAN our clothing & NOT DESTROY it!!!!!! Very Disappointed in this Product!!!!!! We Will NOT purchase another product from Your Company or from this Distributor unless YOU make a conscience decision to make this situation Right!!!!! We Will Spread the Word about your Failure of a product & detour business from YOU & YOUR Distributor!!!!!! We have numerous other photos to share with consumers of how YOUR product has destroyed our clothing!!!!!

Actually, I have had my Maytag washer and dryer for 20 years so they are not new but I am thankful for this set because of the workload it does for me. I sometimes wash heavy loads (blankets, bedspreads, small area rugs), and this pair performs superbly. My son wanted to buy me a new set for Christmas last year but I definitely said no. I truly am happy that I bought Maytag and I truly believe that the Maytag repairman is a bit lonely.

Worst washer ever. My clothes I have to wash a few times before they all get wet. Not a good washer at all. Has all the bells and whistles. Lets me know when the washer is done or its unbalanced... my washer is crap. Ive had it maybe a year now. I now have to buy another one. Why? Because this one sucks literally... its Maytag commercial technology.

Worst washing machine!!! I purchased the top loader Maytag Bravos washer HE in 2011 and they are the worst!!! It has been repaired three times already and now is making such a loud noise and I have been told it is the bearings. I did purchase the extended warranty and it expired. The reason I did not get a renewal is Maytag & Home Depot do not allow the the extended warranty company to let you know the warranty is ending. So now I have a 3 1/2 year old washer that needs bearings and will cost $500 + for repairs. Will not be spending anymore money on this absolute piece of junk. I had a Maytag that was 22 years old that I replaced and thought I was buying the same quality but never again another Maytag. This company may want to employ only repairmen because you will need only them because no one should buy a new one going forward.

I just purchased this washer in Feb. 2012. The motor had gone out in Oct. I called Maytag Service, they came out to repair it. In Nov., it was doing the same thing again. I called Maytag Service, and they sent someone out to fix it. They expected me to take off from work where they inconvenience me with this washer. It is a reject washer. They would give me another washer and not consider people having to work and cant take off for their reject washer. They said as long as it is under warranty. I feel that I should be able to get me another. This washer has given me problems since I had it.

We purchased a Maytag refrigerator model # MSF25D2EAS on 10-22-2012 at the Home Depot in Tracy, CA. On 2-2-2014 (15 months) we noticed a puddle on the kitchen floor. Upon inspection, we noticed that the refrigerator was not working. Went over to Home Depot and were given the name and number of the authorized Maytag repair dealer (A and E). The technician arrived on 2-5-2014 and replaced the compressor on-off /overload relay and charged $243.82. On 2-16-2014 (11 days later), the same thing happened again. The technician came on 2-19-2014. This time, it was the compressor at a cost of $800.00 plus the $75.00 service call. One can purchase the compressor online for $300.00 and I am sure that A and E buys it for a lot less. We thought about it and decided not to get it fixed because we did not know what else would go wrong and how long would the second compressor last. We talked to the Appliance Departments assistant manager and were told that Home Depot does not give any kind of consideration and she had worked there for 11 years and had not heard of any problems. She was not telling the truth or she was not aware of the numerous negative customer reviews online. She also informed me that I should have bought a warranty. We have bought quite a few refrigerators in 50 years and they lasted for many years. Home Depot sells inferior products. Maytag must sell these inferior products at discounted prices and of course, some stores are looking for larger profits. I do not trust Home Depot any longer and will not purchase appliances there anymore. It was a very expensive lesson - the price of the refrigerator, loss of food (twice) and the stress it caused. We bought a new refrigerator at Sears and it was not a MAYTAG.

I did not purchase it. This range came with my home. The electric range works great. It is thorough and I dont have to worry about the gas being on and filling the house up. Electric may not be for everyone, but it is the way to go for me. I will look for similar if not the exact same make/model if a replacement is necessary. I dont mind spending a little extra to ensure the product will last. So many products dont last nowadays and it is sad. I am not an avid cooker, actually I tend to mess up a lot of food recipes but the electric range helps me to reduce the number of problems I run across with the durability and accountability of the product. It cooks throughout the entire dish/pan and I have never had a problem with the unit working properly, just the user not working properly. Haha.

The Maytag Bravos XL Gas Dryer I purchased less than a year ago has stopped working three times. The dryer stops producing heat. I am now about to call Maytag repair again and waste time and energy setting up a warranty service call. I spent a lot of money in order to go to the Laundromat on a Sunday. Do not purchase this dryer if you would like to be able to dry clothes at home with any type of consistency or confidence. Arrrggg!

I bought a Maytag Bravos Quiet Series 300 washer just over two years ago from Home Depot. The control board and sensor went out last week. The service technician seemed rather surprised that a newer machine would have that kind of non-wear-and-tear problem and suggested that I contact Maytag/Whirlpool to see if they could help offset the parts costs, as the repair was going to cost over $600! The customer service agent I spoke with said that there was nothing they could do because the item did not have an extended warranty. I explained to her that we purchased this unit, even though it was out of our price range, because we were told that it would last a lifetime. I would have been happy if it would have just lasted 5 years! She was very detached and it was clear that Maytag/Whirlpool was not going to stand behind their product. I will now take the repair money and go buy a new washer. You can be sure that it absolutely will not have the Maytag/Whirlpool brand!

I have Maytag Neptune washer and dryer that was purchased in 2002. Theyre still going strong. Its a great size for empty nesters like us, but if you have a big family, you might want to consider a larger capacity.

I recently purchased a Maytag centennial washer and dryer from my local Home Depot. I set up a delivery date of 2/9/12. I was contacted on 2/6/12 by a Maytag staff telling me that my washer and dryer were on back-order until 2/29/12. This is unacceptable to me. Why does your company not tell its retailers that some items may be back ordered? I would have accepted this if told when I scheduled my original delivery, but being told days later and after taking the day off from work, is poor customer service to me. I am giving very serious consideration to voiding this order and finding a new company to deal with. I do not have the confidence that future issues will be shared or dealt with in a timely manner.

We purchased a Maytag Front Load Washer in April 2011. We did not purchase an extended warranty. From the beginning, it didnt seem to clean as well as our 12 year old top load Whirlpool had. Then in Summer 2013 it began to create fabric pulls in fine fabrics - tablecloths, blouses, etc. Whirlpool sent a repairman who charged $90 to tell us that the drum needed to be replaced because of a rough spot. He ordered a new drum and we understood that it would be replaced because it was within the 5 year manufacturers warranty on drums, but we would have to pay for installation. 2 months later, Whirlpool informed us they could not supply the new drum. Why are replacement parts not available for a 2 year old machine? The customer service rep told me that they would replace the machine for 15 percent of the cost of a new machine. All I needed to do would be to pick out a machine and let customer service know the model number and they would make arrangements and contact me re: payment of the 15%. When I contacted them again I was told that I would be expected to pay $508.00. That is 15% of a $3000.00 machine. It it completely unfair. Later, I was told that the first rep I spoke to must have been wrong because they dont pro rate replacements on a percentage basis. I told them that I was not interested and they have lost a good Whirlpool customer. In the last 15 years we have purchased 7 appliances made by Whirlpool. Never again! I am not impressed by their customer service.

Worst customer service ever. I ordered my washer and dryer from home depot 2 weeks before a possible delivery day. The day before delivery I receive a call that they dont have them and I must wait 1 more week. After 3 phone calls I am promised a credit to my account. A week after delivery I am wondering where my credit I was promised is so I call. Im told the most I can be given is $100. I state that I feel my time is worth more than that. A supervisor is brought in and Im told we will get $150 credit. Then put on hold. She reviews account (why didnt you do this first) and told because we didnt call within 48 hrs of delivery the most they can give us is $75. So I call back very frustrated. Then Im told its our word against theirs that we were offered that?!? What?!? Well I am sure you record conversations and thats total BS. I explained how you cant offer something then take it back. I was told the week before I was getting a credit and my account already notated. No one said, Call within 48 hrs to dispute again to get it. Why would I have to I mean seriously. So after a total of at least 2hrs on the phone before and after delivery I am forced to settle with $75. I feel very unappreciated. I purchased and paid for $1633 worth of appliances that were a week later than promised. Called less than 24 hrs before expected delivery and told they dont even have them. Then told Im getting a credit of $150 to be told sorry now just $75. The lady proceeds to say that she doesnt think it was because of the phone call not being made. What? Are you serious. WELL THAT WAS THE LAME EXCUSE I WAS GIVEN SO I COULD CARE LESS IF IT WASNT THE REAL REASON. THAT JUST MEANS I WAS LIED TO. I promise I will never buy Maytag Whirlpool again. One customer may not mean much to you but good customer service means everything to me.

I purchased a washer on 8/13/12. I had it installed on 8/20/12. It did not clean clothes properly. I went to Two Guys and they said they dont take returns and told me to call Maytag. I called Maytag and they sent a a service agent to check the machine on 9/10/12. They said the machine codes were imbalanced and over stud. They need to recalibrate the machine. I did laundry the same day and still find clothes do not come clean. I need to return the machine. I called Maytag and was told they dont take returns. This machine is not cleaning clothes as it should be and I want a refund!

Worst washer ever. Wish I had read all these reviews before I bought. I have had the same poor experience. Laundry doesnt even get wet while being washed. Agitation does not affect laundry. Just moves back and forth under laundry. Clothes do not come out clean. Feel I was ripped off.

At first the Maytag Bravos XL top load washing machine met all me expectations. After 3 yrs. the top where you load bleach and fabric softener began to rust. This is not covered under warranty. My last washer was a Whirlpool and had it 15 year and never had that issue. So it cant be from the water, just poor workmanship. Very disappointed. Now my lid came loose and is ready to fall off. Would not recommend.

We too bought a Maytag range (MER5755QAW) approximately 5 years ago. While making Christmas dinner, it quit working. The oven would not heat. Too bad it had to quit that day (or at all for that matter). Unfortunately, every single appliance I bought for my house 5 years ago is a Maytag appliance! The microwave quit last month and I have yet to replace it. I bought Maytag because for the longest time it was such a positive household brand name. Unfortunately, with 2 appliances less than 5 years old and out of warranty, I will never purchase one of their products again! I will spend the extra money and go with LG especially after reading some of the reviews on here on Maytag’s products (there are over 192 complaints on the Maytag ranges and ovens alone on this one forum).

Have had continual problems with Maytag Bravos. They will replace in under a 5 year warranty. If not for the warranty, I would be out over 700 dollars spent on this very bad machine. Based on my experience Maytag washers are of poor quality. I would stay away.

Maytag WFW7590FW & YWED75HEFW 24 Compact Washer and Dryer: These 2 machines are a lemon and the extended warranty plan was completely disappointed. Both needs maintenance before the 1 year warranty ends. The washer was the worst between the pair. The washer cannot spin the laundry dry. The Home Depot extended warranty plan was not the cost. It takes 2 business day for the service call to call us back. Then a schedule date was 2 days later. The service person complained about not getting authorization to do the work without charging us. He did even showed up for the 3rd call. He did nothing to resolve the issue and said the diagnostics showed there was a load issue, which was not true. A very light load still didnt spin dry. The washer not spinning clothing dry issue has been more than 1 month and is still not resolved. The repair person Dean didnt even re-schedule another date after not showing up today. There is a 90 day policy that we cant request for another repair person to attend to the issue. The dryer also made excessive noise which was caused by a broken attachment that established the drum.

Maytag Dishwasher with model number MDB6701AWS and Serial Number 41687985NJ.It does not clean dishes like it should. We tried every possible way to set control settings, and still the dishes come out dirty and spotted. Also, it doesnt dry like it should. We had a Kitchenaid before we moved and it worked great.

We purchased a Maytag refrigerator in 2009. The freezer is on the bottom. In the last 3 months weve had to defrost this frost-free refrigerator. The freezer frosts and the refrigerator went into the danger level for foods. A technician said there is a tube from the freezer to the refrigerator that gets blocked with ice and your food is spoiled in no time. I wish I would have read this website before I purchased a Maytag. Hopefully, this will help someone else. I thought that Maytag was a quality name. That was the good ole days and now Im living in the good ole days defrosting a frost-free refrigerator. Beware!

We used to own a Neptune Model. After always leaving the door opened and following the recommended monthly cleaning and many extra cleanings with diluted bleach and water, we could not get the smell out. We paid for a new seal, Advice from Washing Machine Repair service even though we paid a lot for an extended warranty. We had to pay for this ourselves. We also had our year to year maintenance. Because we could not fix the issue, nor would MAYTAG, we donated the set to donated it to Salvation Army.We decided to give MAYTAG another chance, so we purchased a brand new FRONT-LOAD WASHER and DRYER in 2014. As I would repeat the same regiment, I would notice little black specks, so I would clean it an extra time with Afresh. I have continued to this date, repeating the same regiment of keeping my washer clean and serviced as we should, I now have the whole tray dispenser spotted with LARGE black goo that smells. So I have continued to clean my Washer.After returning home from the Cleveland Clinic, I was ready to do our laundry from the trip, more black goo and smell coming from my Maytag front-load washer. My sister had stayed with my 86 year old mother and had wash a load of towels while we were gone. She left the door opened also as she was instructed many times, and that is how we found it. So I took the dispenser tray out as usual and bleached it and scrubbed it. As I did this I noticed bigger areas of goo. I looked in the dispenser housing and OMG it was covered with black mold. I am appalled that our $900.00 Washing Machine is like this. This IS BLACK MOLD, There is no way to remove this mold. I have the sides and bottom cleaned with bleach, BUT I cannot get into the multiple crevices.I called Maytag and I was initially told by a Maytag Customer Service Person said that it sounds like BLACK MOLD and MAYTAG COULD DO NOTHING! I asked to speak with a supervisor. At first she seemed a little put off, but as we talked she became more pleasant, I offered to send pictures or a video of the WASHER WITH THE BLACK MOLD and she said no. She told me to pour bleach into each dispensing compartment and the drum. Then run a wash with no clothes on all HOT WATER 2 times, then rinse 2 times and this should get rid of it and to also leave the dispenser drawer open a crack as well as the door after each wash.The Supervisor said ok and thanked her for her help. Then she said good luck and thanks for calling MAYTAG. Ive did and already do everything our Washer manual says to do on cleaning and maintenance of my expensive Maytag Washer and dryer. The manual says nothing about leaving the dispenser drawer open a little so it dries. The bottom of the housing looks great from doing this, along with me scrubbing it until 5:00 am with diluted bleach water. However, in the MANY SEAMS, CREVICES, THE SCHUTE AND POSSIBLY THROUGHOUT THE WASHING MACHINE IS BLACK MOLD that we cannot access without disassembling the machine and voiding our extended warranty.MOLD GROWS RAPIDLY and causes many illness. I already have an ongoing illness since childhood, I take care of my 86 year old mother, my husband just finished cancer treatment in January. We certainly do not need any other health issues. I called my local Appliance repair company and they said that they normally do not handle anything like this, but if my husband couldnt take the outside of the machine off then the top I could pay for a repair person to come out to take it apart then call and have them come back to put it back, pay them again to reassemble our Washer.I believe Whirlpool in its purchase of Maytag has taken a Monkey on its back. Maytag will do nothing, why should they? They already have their money from when we purchased our machines along with money from many other consumers who also have ongoing issues with their WHIRLPOOL/MAYTAG Front-Load washing machines. It is undignified and deceitful how they treat their consumers with such disregard when we have filled their pockets by being loyal customers.Word of mouth is good or bad advertisement for any company. Everyone who has unresolved issues of any kind can write a formal complaint to the CEO and President of Whirlpool/Maytag. The address is on the internet. Shame on Whirlpool/Maytag for taking many consumers hard earned money, when apparently some of Whirlpool/Maytags money is ill gained by developing and manufacturing a consumer product that causes black mold and marketing it to sell to us, the consumer.
