The Maytag Bravos XL Gas Dryer I purchased less than a year ago has stopped working three times. The dryer stops producing heat. I am now about to call Maytag repair again and waste time and energy setting up a warranty service call. I spent a lot of money in order to go to the Laundromat on a Sunday. Do not purchase this dryer if you would like to be able to dry clothes at home with any type of consistency or confidence. Arrrggg!

I have a Maytag Neptune washing machine which had a mold problem on the rubber grommet. I have been trying to call Maytag to no avail. I researched and saw there was a class action suit for this very problem and I was never informed. The washer may pose a health hazard and I would like Maytag to do something about it.

Maytag fridge is a overpriced, ticking repair bomb. The fridge had issues with the compressor, control board (motherboard) and relay switch within a 12-month period. Customer service is weak in troubleshooting techniques and try to send the file over to a repairman. The repairman will show up at $80/hr + other fees and parts costing you approx $500, and still uncertainty that this fridge can breakdown at any time. Final advice: DONT BUY.

I bought the newest most energy efficient Maytag model M9BXXGMYM00 (for about 1K) from a local appliance store and after 9 months it wouldnt freeze. The local store picked up and left a loner for the fridge and made repairs in shop returning it in a week - great - except that approx. 11 months later the fridge again wouldnt freeze. The store sent repairman who charged 125$ to tell me it had leaked its freon again and would need repairs which were no longer covered under 1 year Maytag warranty. I asked the store to back their work but was only given a refill of the freon and half off the service visit. 2 months later the fridge is not freezing. I know because the repairman and store owner Mike told me that it had freon leak and that Mike himself had made repairs to the leak that the unit wasnt repaired.I have read that freon is toxic and can be hazardous to people with heart conditions and a list of bad effects. Maytag will only send someone to repair unit for a service call charge plus the repair charges and will not replace a defective unit. I can take the appliance store to small claims court over faulty warranty repairs but probably not the health risks - which are disputed by the experts. Ive read reviews and have heard from people who have appliance issues that the companies basically use a defective unit as a cash cow sending repairmen back again and again and never fixing the problem making a lot of money off of frustrated people who have bought a lemon from a company who doesnt back their product or their work. I was only looking for a decent refrigerator and paid plenty for one. I now have to get rid of a nuisance or pay to fix it - probably more than once and spend lots of time getting through the court vs. store owner process for any of the 1000 bucks lost on the defective toxic junk I got from Maytag.

From the beginning, the blower motor (for the control panel? never needed one before) was too noisy. I just bought the oven from Lowe’s. They sent out a repairman. He replaced the motor, but has exactly the same level of noise. It is bad design/engineering. Im going to try some other brand. One problem is that you cant listen to the fan noise before you buy the oven and install it. And there are no decibel requirements or ratings. Industry regulations need improvement. I live alone and bought this unit for long life. After a few short not-used-much years, my washer sounded like a 747 was landing in my laundry room. I am a maintenance person, so I did a bit of troubleshooting and narrowed it down to the bearings installed in plastic on the outer tub that failed. My cost was $600.00 to $750.00, parts alone. It still worked, just very noisy on high spin.I emailed Maytag (now Whirlpool) and was phoned by Lee Ann. I told her I had all Maytag appliances in my home and was laid off and that if after the use this washer has had and it will cost this much if I do the work, I was not impressed with this company. She apologized and told me she will issue me an extended warranty for $299.00 that will cover it. I told her that without a job, I cannot make a decision so fast. She gave me the next business day to decide. I concluded it was cheaper than the part, so I called her back. I was scheduled for a repair, and the man opened the front and looked at it and said it was an outer tub bearing. He went to his laptop in his truck and returned to tell me that they would not authorize that expense and that all they would authorize was $350.00. He put the front of the washer on, then as if he forgot something, took it back off and reached way in the back and did something. Then, he reinstalled the front. I was livid! They charged me $299.00 for a warranty and would not repair! So I called back and was hung up on. Next, I called my credit card and disputed the charge. I tried to use the washer, and it made funny sounds and then filled up my home with smoke and stopped working. I called Maytag again, and he denied the repairman would tell me how much they would authorize to repair it and told me good news that they would issue a $174.00 check. I gave $299.00, and a few days later, they give me $174.00? This is why Whirlpool is destined to fail. I will never buy again, and I will wash in my laundry tub first! This is exactly why imports will rule! So Whirlpool, you got me for the last time!

Three years ago, we purchased a gas Maytag double oven, it worked fine for three years, then it blew the breaker. When we turned the power back on, we could not turn the oven off. The control panel had to be replaced, dinner too. We had bought the extended warranty, so that was covered. Last week, after four months, it happened again. We placed an oven thermometer inside the oven and it is was higher than the maximum temperature of 600 which the thermometer could measure. We are currently awaiting a new control panel. Maytag used to be a good name, but recommend you to buy something else.

I paid $958 + tax for a Maytag Bravos washing machine in August 2008. I live by myself, so the machine is not overused. Nevertheless, it began to sound like a jet airplane during the spin cycle. And then in May of 2012, it failed with error code F51, catastrophic failure. The machine was not even four years old. I called a certified Maytag repairman. In less than 5 minutes, he told me the cost to repair would be about $900, and then he charged $115 for the service call! A call to Maytag resulted in Im sorry, there is nothing we can do.

I had a 1 1/2 yr old front load washer. I was worried the filter might have a lot of dog hair in it so I called to just have it looked out. I couldnt remember if I had an extended warranty. Thought it would be listed with Maytag. They said no. I said OK. They recommended A+ to come out and said it would be $60.00. That was OK because I wanted to prevent any problems with the washer in the future. I thought them checking it would be a preventative measure. The tech came out opened it up said there wasnt much hair or any other problems. Put it back together, plugged it in. There was a Big popping noise and smoke! Washer no longer worked. The man said doesnt make sense but he would fix it and not charge me for parts etc. I called Maytag. They refused to do anything since it was out of warranty even though they recommended this company and there was absolutely nothing wrong with it in the beginning. After about 2 months he still couldnt fix it. About this time I found papers for a warranty with the Home Depot. The repairman said he works with Home Depot as well. Told me to contact them but I needed to pay $120.00 to him and file a claim and then he would fix it. Apparently he does not do service work for Home Depot. They sent out other repairmen. They tried to fix it but apparently it was deemed unserviceable he blew the mother board. Home Depot said they would replace or reimburse me the amount I paid for washer. Then a machine called said they were sending me a check. We will probably never buy another Maytag! Even though I want to buy American if they wont help or stand behind their products. I now have an LG we bought from Pacific Sales with a cheaper warranty and much better customer service.

Neptune 4000 washer - Worst washer EVER! Two weeks after we bought it sounded like a jet engine during the spin cycle. They replaced the bearing parts. Only cost us 450 in labor. One year later, again the bearing but this time we insisted on full coverage. 6 months later, here we are again! Most expensive washer in the history of washers and this is a KNOWN issue - yet Maytag gets away with it while consumers foot the bill! Ridiculous! Never again will I purchase their product and make dang sure everyone I know stays away too and everyone that hears my washer is in shock that it hasnt injured something or someone. Dishwasher Model MDB7749SBM1 - When I returned home from work today, I noticed the cancel drain button was on and the unit was continuing to try and drain but the dishes were not clean and the cascade pod was still inside the unit unused. I then proceeded to run another cycle to clean the dishes and what happened next simply amazed me. I pressed the jet clean button, tough scrub and 2 hour delay button and thought I was all set but the start/resume button would not engage or light up at all and subsequently the cancel/drain button lit up and the unit started draining. Now the control lock and start/resume button just flashes intermittently and wont disengage. I purchased my unit along with several other new Maytag appliances when I renovated my kitchen. Purchased a new Maytag dishwasher three years ago. After having it for one year the panel box no longer worked. Had to pay $300.00 to repair. Now half way through washing the dishes again no water will go into the machine. Only the first part of the cycle. I am sure it is going to be the panel box after reading other peoples problems with this machine. I will not pay to have it fixed this time. I will have to buy a new dishwasher. I will never purchase a Maytag product ever again. I have lived in my home for 40 years and never had a problem with any appliances. This would have been my third dishwasher in 40 years and as you can see it has not even lasted 4 years. I will inform my friends to stay away from Maytag.

I purchased this relatively expensive range and could not have imagined how dissatisfied I would be. The Aqualift cleaning technology does not work. There is no way to clean the oven door. They stress not to use oven cleaner, but as the Aqualift system does nothing to clean the oven door, there is no choice but to use oven cleaner, which they say will ruin the oven coating. Also, the grates are very heavy and it is impractical to clean the range top. I wish I had researched further; this product is a MAJOR disappointment.

Maytag dishwasher mdb7749sbm2. Purchased the above Maytag dishwasher model in July 2013. Eight months later the control panel ribbon strip burnt out. The first of many times to come. I had the panel replaced three times during the first year (warrantied by Maytag, now Whirlpool). All I can say is thank goodness, I paid $30.00 for the extended 3-year warranty. It has been the best $30.00 I have ever spent. Unfortunately it doesnt count for all the frustration this appliance has caused me. Ever since the first repairman walked through the door, all he could say is that the control panel was poorly made, electricity and water does not mix and never will. When you use the steam option all you are doing is adding to the problem. (The steam option is the sole reason why I bought the model in the first place!)Anyhow, this model has broken down three more times and it is currently down again as I am writing this, awaiting for a service person to hopefully come out as promised next week. I purchased this appliance two years ago and still have one more year of warranty left. Once it is done, I will be shopping for another dishwasher. If I didnt have it covered with a warranty, I would be paying the service fees of about $251.00 each time they came to change the panel. Shame on Maytag/Whirlpool for not recalling this model.

My husband and I purchased the Maytag dishwasher model #MDB7609AWW2 in December 2010. July 2012, the control panel would not operate. I called Sears to schedule a repair appointment. (I did not have an extended warranty.) After reading review after review of complaints about Maytag and control panel issues and learning it is a very costly repair, I called Whirlpool which now owns Maytag. (Be advised, Maytag is not the quality product it once was). Reviews also indicate that the replaced control panels are failing within 6 months to a year and a half. After talking to a person in the Maytag/Whirlpool service department, he suggested some things to do: unplug power, unlock control panel, etc. He determined it was most likely the control panel that needed to be replaced. I asked how long a new panel would last informing him of the complaints Id read. All he would tell me was that I had the option to buy an extended warranty. We have decided not repair the dishwasher and will replace it with a non-Maytag and non-Whirlpool brand. I will never buy Maytag or any products made by Whirlpool again. For a major component of the dishwasher to last only a year and a half is unconscionable.

Come on people are you serious! Im talking about all those people who give this washer great reviews or even mediocre reviews. This washing machine sucks! Thank God for the glass lid so you can see how terrible it washes. No water in this thing. Clothes that sit on the edge of the bowl do not agitate enough to be washed if there was water in the wash cycle. Bleach that you use in your white wash cycle is left over and gets onto your colored cycle if you wash it the color cycle next. I ** you not, mark my words that stains are left on clothes even in a cycle that has lots of water in it. If you think Im high or crazy take a look at your local Home Depot or Lowes store. Check the area for washing machines that are for sale that have been used. You will find this Maytag Bravos XL machine there. They look good and are practically brand new and they will be there for weeks on and because people return them if they get lucky to return them. I called my store and they refuse to take it back and told me to call the manufacturer. I did just that... I called the manufacturer and they told me they can send out a serviceman to check the washing machine. Butt...and a big butt, if they find nothing wrong with the washing machine that I will be charged a service fee. Bunch of **! For all of us that get stuck with this pile of garbage we can thank the tree huggers for trying to save the world with low water consumption water washing machines.

MF12665XEM7 - Maytag Refrigerator purchased from Home Depot. We initially thought it to be a good value until it started leaking puddles of water onto the floor to the front sides of the bottom freezer drawer. This event repeated itself and I feared the water would seep between the floor tiles and begin to degrade the sub flooring or possibly cause mold as well. Upon further investigation of lying on my side and pulling the bottom drawer open, I felt, what I thought to be ice on the bottom of the refrigerators floor. I gently inserted a smooth butter knife and with a nudge, a whole sheet of ice about one half inch thick, lifted from the refrigerator floor. I have since had to repeat this about every three weeks or so. Im nearing retirement and shouldnt have to lay on my floor like this to protect my floor and to keep my wife and I from a potential hazard of a slip and fall from this water on the floor! Dependability People? Hardly! I think they got outsourced! Im disgusted! Thank you!

We purchased a Maytag Centennial line washer (Model # MVWC400XW0) and paid a little more hoping that it will last longer than a normal washer. After just 14 months, the washer breaks and we are forced to buy an extended warranty from Maytag for $300. The warranty price seemed a little high; however, the only other option was to buy a new washer. The repair guys showed and said it should be fixed. After just three weeks, the washer broke again with the exact same symptom. Since I had the extended warranty, I called in another ticket. A different repair guy showed up and he said the first guy messed up. He said the guy misread the diagnostic code and didnt even put in the part that he said he replaced. The repair guy checked with Maytag and they told him it was no longer cost effective to fix our washer. Really? They overcharged for the warranty and wont even repair it when it breaks. The only reason I can think Maytag would do this is that they know the washers are junk.

I grew up trusting and believing in the name brand Maytag. Unfortunately, I wont anymore. I purchased a Maytag MDB7749AWM1 dishwasher from Lowes thinking that I would not need the extended warranty because well it was a Maytag and they just keep working and working for years to come. Not true anymore. 1.5 years after the purchase the control board has gone out. I come to find that hundreds upon hundreds of people have all experienced the same thing. Shortly after the manufacturer warranty expires, the panel dies. By all accounts it is an issue of POOR engineering and Maytag now being produced by Whirlpool. The replacement part is between $150 and $200. Thats about half the purchase price. It is a racket. Companies like this probably think, well if we build something that is going to last and last we cant make money on that. So lets rig it so our stuff breaks right after the warranty and charge half the price of the unit to fix it so we continue to make money either by people buying the part or just going and getting a new dishwasher. Well I can tell you I will be getting a new dishwasher and it certainly wont be a Maytag OR a Whirlpool.

I purchased the Bravos X washer approximately 13 mos ago. Washer was noisy and has deteriorated since installation. I questioned the ability of a non agitator appliance getting close clean but was assured it would. Not the best if clothes are just moving against clothes. The machine had a difficult time in between adjusting to wash balancing a 3x event upon starting. It leaked intermittently during spin cycles and stopped due to unbalanced loads, sometimes refilling and stopping again. Now it wont spin at all, circuit board problems! This is my first and last Maytag. The company will most likely not balance/compensate on the purchase price (like the Bravos X) because it is beyond the 12 mos warranty.

We bought this new microwave to replace an old one that didnt match the other appliances and was worn out. Two months ago, the code SE started appearing and then would go away after a few minutes. Now it doesnt go away and you cant use the microwave. I finally called a repair person since its out of warranty and was told that it would cost over $300 to fix it. Really! Im so angry because now I have to take money. I dont have to replace a microwave that should have another few years of use. Nothing at all reliable about a Maytag. I doubt Ill buy anything else they make.

I purchased a Maytag refrigerator (MBF2258XEB), stove (MER8674AB) and dishwasher (MDB7749SBB) on May 26, 2013. So far all three have been worked on. First, the dishwasher would not fill up with water after the trial run. Called the repairman out. A tag was placed in a position that was preventing the dishwasher from loading up with water. Granted, we should have taken the tag off, however, it stated not to. Lucky for me, I am still under warranty. Second, the refrigerator, which is a freezer at the bottom, started to leak. I thought that maybe we were dropping ice. However, I finally called and had the repairman back out. He knew exactly what the problem was because Maytag knew about it. There was a faulty plug. So in a matter of mins the problem was fixed. Lucky me still under warranty. Those two things happen within six months of purchasing these items. Now, the oven does not work. It heats up to the desire temperature but then cuts off. Called the repairman and he thought it might be the lower baking element. Unlucky for me, warranty has expired. So, $90.00 for service call. Received a called from the repairman, $120.00 for labor and $70.00 for the baking element. I purchased the baking element myself, $58.08 and installed it. Still does the same thing. Now I have another appointment for him to come back out and see what is wrong. Another $90.00! So far I have spent $238.08 on a $699.99 stove. I will never buy Maytag again. Depending on the amount to repair will depend on whether or not I go back to Sears and buy Kenmore. I had Kenmore for 10 years with no problems. I should have gone back to Sears for my upgrade. I did contact Maytag via email. I am still waiting for a reply. Live and learn!

We bought this washing machine 2 years ago and I was never really satisfied with how it cleaned the clothes. Darker pants would come out with white soap/water lines on them. The worst part, 2 years in, the washer basket seal failed and the bearings rusted. The washer sounds like a tornado every time it runs. I got a quote for $350 to repair it!

I purchased a Maytag Dryer Model MEDC200XW1 Electric Dryer in November of 2011. Along with a Maytag Washer from Home Depot. This week the dryer stopped heating for no apparent reason. I use it about three times a week. I tried to speak to Maytag customer service, they were very rude and did not care I spent thousands of dollars in kitchen appliances as well. They would not even cover the service call or diagnostic or half the repair cost. Supervisor Brian @ Maytag Customer Service was rude and unprofessional. I will never buy their product again.

We had perfectly working 20 year old top loading white Whirlpools w/ an agitator, when we remodeled our home and wanted new pretty grey appliances and decided to donate our machines to the church. I chose Maytag top loading due to their former reputation we experienced with dishwashers, etc. It had an agitator, deep fill option, extra rinse, etc. The sales person at Home Depot stated, the agitator is because people like you still want the agitator, and the deep fill will give you the water you have been used to. Not so at all!!Clothes get wound up together, even with filling the wash tub in bundles, there is almost NO water to thoroughly clean & the rinse cycle is a joke. Clothes do NOT come out clean. Im 58 yrs. old and have been doing laundry since I was 13 so I know what I am doing. Its just my husband and I now, and he is so upset that his clothes are pilling probably from rubbing together, even though I occasionally use laundry bags. I seriously wish I would have saved my money and kept the 2 perfectly working whirlpool units I had. This has been such a disappointment. I sincerely would not buy these.P.S. Weve had service out at least 5 times in the last year, and all they do is test the washer and tell us its working as intended... The last thing that is going to happen is we are going to get refunded for a different set, even though we were educated over and over what it would do by Home Depot associates. We are heartbroken. Maytag is going to lose their former reputation on these washers a dryers :( There is simply not enough water to clean or rinse things!

First of all, Whirlpool owns the Maytag brand. Ive seen a few reviewers on here say I will never buy Maytag! Im buying Whirlpool from now on! I picture the executives smiling and nodding, Good. Maytag used to be great - machines lasted 20 years or more. Now they last about three. After one year, the paint on the washer was bubbling and coming off, and now its starting to rust. The warranty doesnt cover cosmetic defects beyond 30 days, and the warranty for the rest of the machine is only one year. Theres a reason for that - the machine will undoubtedly have problems after that. Multiple calls to Maytag/Whirlpool and they do not care. Terrible product, terrible customer service. I tell everyone I know never to buy Maytag or Whirlpool.

Maytag Bravos Quiet series 300 washer - I purchased this washer 14 months ago from LOWES. After having a huge issue with a Kenmore Oasis machine. $$$. Anyway, this machine started a week ago with F1 code and Ld code. This is getting to be a financial strain buying washers every year or two. This is my third in 5 years. Looks like I will need to get another one, again. It makes no sense to repair it at a high cost when the replacement parts are the same as the failed parts. Everyone seems to have the same problem with this washer. Get better electronics guys. The rest of the machine is in fantastic shape. My two cents.

This dishwasher constantly has an odor. I run the dishwasher every third day (there are only two of us), and no matter how well the dishes are rinsed off, there is an unpleasant smell whenever the door is opened. Even after running the washer, upon opening the door an unpleasant scent still lingers. I compare this washer to the Kenmore I left in my previous home and this brand new one falls short. I bought this Maytag MCT washer and dryer set brand new from Lowes October
I bought this Maytag MCT washer and dryer set brand new from Lowes October 31st, 2016. When I washed the first load it made so much noise I thought it was broken. Called Lowes and they said it is just noisier than the older ones. This is the water/load sensing model, supposed to be great. I am usually here by myself, so at most I wash one load of clothes a week. I have a queen size mattress pad in there washing right now. This pad fills up the drum pretty much, I have it on deep water but that only gives me maybe 1/4 of the drum that has water in it. The pad is wet from wicking, NOT from the water covering it. How is this supposed to clean anything when the water is not covering the items? When it spins out, it gets off balance easily. The manual says to not worry about balancing load as you put it in there, but doesnt make any sense to just cram on one side as the water isnt going to float the cloth around to balance. The settings for Bulky does nothing more than the setting for Deep Water, you still do not get enough water to wash your clothes. It also does not do any good to add fabric softener to the machine, as it seems to just take it all out, you cannot smell any fabric softener on your laundry when you are transferring it to the dryer. And the laundry when dry isnt soft like it was with the old machines. I will be 62 in December 2017. My parents always had Maytags, never a problem. This is the 4th set of Maytags I have had. And bought a set for my daughter in 2013 also. And this by far is the worst. Their quality is completely gone now. Nothing but cheap made products that are predestined to fail. Friend across the street said she had looked at this set when she was in market to get a new set. She has an friend who works on appliances and who works for stores selling these models and he told her, they were not worth buying. Wish I had known that. Do not waste your money.

Seemed like clothes got cleaner. On this machine the agitator is certainly helpful, but there is so little water sometimes I find a pair of jeans with dry spots when load is complete. No, I do not overload the machine. If I change the setting to add more water I don’t see a difference in the amount of water that comes in. I find myself frequently adding an extra rinse. I feel that while making the new washing machines eco friendly they have cut back on water conservancy too much. At the very least the consumer should have more options as to levels of water. My Maytag refrigerator, model number mff2557heb, serial number 10375839gv, was purchased in 5/2005. Two weeks ago, this refrigerator stopped working. I called the Maytag technician and then right away came to my house and find out it is the compressor that needs to be replaced. He told me to search if it is under warranty. I searched in the internet Maytag compressor warranty and I found it and then called the Maytag representative. I told them I have found in their website that compressor of this Maytag is covered for 10 years but labor is not included. Then they asked me to fax it. I faxed the copy on 6/20 and they responded on 6/22. He said they received the copy and he said, Yes, it is covered for 10 years but you will shoulder the labor. So to make the story short, this Maytag representative scheduled Friday, 6/29 for the Maytag technician to fix my refrigerator. My husband did not go to work yesterday, 6/29, Friday, so he will be home for this Maytag tech. Maytag tech came at about 2pm yesterday and when he confirmed that it is the compressor that is the problem, he asked for the warranty paper. And when my husband present the proof, the copy of their warranty coverage that came from the Maytag website, he refused to work with my refrigerator because he said the one in the internet is not valid. It is really upsetting because I faxed the copy of it to them on 6/20/12 and they honored it. Thats why they arranged the technician to come to my house and then my husband did not work for them to work with our refrigerator and then asking me $79 for just saying that it is not covered by the warranty. I even gave them the model number and the serial number of the refrigerator so they can verify if it is covered. He said yes 10 years warranty on the compressor. In fact, two employees that I have spoken to both agreed that it is 10 years coverage except for the supervisor named Rachel. Her employees agreed to 10 years based on the paper that I have faxed them and it came from their website and they dont want to honor it after they sent the technician to my house. Thank you so much for your time and for reading about my grievances against Maytag employees.

First I would like to thank the salesman who has worked diligently to solve the problem I am having. The first load of dark clothes I washed came out with what looked like lint on them. It has to be scraped off. Yes I am using HE detergent. Yes I am using the minimum amount recommended by the manufacturer. & yes to all the other questions I have asked. The solution was to wash the dark clothes on power wash with an extra rinse. Very energy efficient! This was NOT the answer so I was given a 1-800 # to call. After giving all the necessary information & answering all of the questions about detergent etc. the conversation became a little more in depth. Does it happen with dark clothes? Do you dry your clothes outside or in a drier? It was becoming obvious to me that Maytag is aware of this problem. By this point I was even unhappier as no solutions were being offered. Finally after several would you mind holding the line again for just a minute he said he couldnt tell me to do this but some of his friends add a cup of vinegar to their wash. At this point I told him I was sorry I had ever bought this machine. He then said he would have a technician arrange an appointment. He arrived & declared I was using too much detergent even though by then I was using half on the manufacturers recommended amount. Buying an energy efficient washer where I have to use POWER WASH, EXTRA RINSE, VINEGAR & DRIER is not a good answer for a problem Maytag must be aware of as I read the reviews today. I have just done 2 loads of dark laundry with no detergent & the pants are marked so I WANT AN ANSWER.

My 14 month old Refrigerator made a popping noise and quit working. I called Maytag and I had to pay $299.00 for a Service Plan so the repairs would be covered under a warranty and A&E Factory Service came out to do the repair. The repairman told me the Circuit Board and Compressor were melted and he was surprised it didnt cause a fire. The repairman had to get authorization to order the parts for this repair because they were so expensive and he is not even sure if the repair will fix the refrigerator. It is going to take 2 weeks for the parts to come in which means I will be without a refrigerator for a total of 3 weeks and were not sure if this will fix the problem. I am being told by Assurance (the warranty company) that they have to replace the parts 3 times before they will replace the refrigerator. I asked them, Exactly how long do you expect me to go without a refrigerator before I get mine fixed or replaced? When I called customer service and spoke to Brittany she gave me her standard robotic answers. I asked to speak to a manager and she sent me to the never-ending hold zone. I called back and non manager was available but they took my name and number and assured me that someone would call me back. I am still waiting for that call.

Does a good job of cleaning but takes much longer to complete. Pretty much standard features. Has rinse only cycle, air dry only cycle, and cycle for pots and pans. Top rack had special holders for long stemmed glasses which I dont need. Standard size. Same size as my Kitchen Aid. White, front load, no special appearance. It takes much longer than my old dishwasher. Also the soap dispenser broke after 2 months and had to be replaced. It requires that two buttons have to be pushed to start. My old one only required one. It does a good job of cleaning.

I purchased Maytag Bravos MVWX500XWO top loading high efficiency low water
I purchased Maytag Bravos MVWX500XWO top loading high efficiency low water washer and it is a piece of junk. All my clothes came out horribly wrinkled and ruined a white jacket when I used the color safe bleach dispenser. I purchased the machine from Sears, where I purchased the extended warranty. I had an A&E technician out and he explained that the new technology of machines are expecting all clothes to be dried in the dryer. Okay, but what do you do with clothes that say hang dry and they come out so wrinkled and twisted that even an iron cant get the wrinkles out? Another suggestion from the technician, put the hang-dry articles in the fluff cycle of the dryer. Well, thats a big nugatory since they are supposed to hang dry them. Supposedly, this machine is all about energy efficiency but isnt it a contradiction when you are using more energy with running a dryer? Someone suggested to me that perhaps there wasnt enough water being dispensed during the spin cycle resulting in horribly wrinkled clothes. Either way, I am on my last nerve with this machine. I always thought that Maytag was an elite company. Well, how wrong I was! Their customer service is pretty much not customer-oriented. Its all about the almighty dollar. After speaking to a supervisor, she explained to me that I should contact Sears with my complaint that Maytag had no recourse. Well honey, Sears did not make the atrocious machine. They are just the so-called messengers. I have unfortunately found that once Maytag sells their horrendous product, they dont even stand by it. Now isnt that typical of companies nowadays and sadly, lacking with this company? Pride in their workmanship! And again, its all about the almighty dollar and who gives a ** about customer satisfaction? Maybe thats why they dont have the Maytag repairman. He was ashamed to be associated with this irreverent company.

This machine was purchased two years ago at the Home Depot. I wanted a top loader that was not digital and without a lot of choices. It has been nothing but a headache with every wash. I had a Maytag serviceman come out immediately and he said nothing was wrong. Every wash load I do, has problems. The dark loads are always full of white spots and the towels are torn up. Just bought some new towels and after the first wash, they were ruined. I will never ever buy a Maytag machine. These new He machines are ridiculous! I no longer have a receipt, but the complaint should help consumers in their decision to NOT buy a Maytag machine.

My refrigerator was delivered on April 3, 2016. I began calling for service July 2 when the bottom freezer door started depositing ice chunks on my kitchen floor every time we opened it. An appointment for service was made for July 18, service never showed up. Another appointment for August 3 was made and again service never came. I called the 800 number on Aug 19 again arranged service for Aug 24 after hours so that we did not have to take anymore time off work. When repair finally looked at the fridge they said the door was not aligned and did not close so the frost builds up and breaks off onto the floor. This can be fixed with a new door that can take from 6 weeks to 8 months as they are not stocked and have to be made at a factory. The fridge constantly runs and is starting to leak water through to my kitchen floor and basement ceiling tiles.I called Maytag/Whirlpool on Aug 25 and the service agent told me the best they could do for me was extend my original warrant by 6 months while I wait for replacement part and they advised I purchase the extended warranty. The second agent named Gabby I spoke to advised me to call Home Depot where I purchased the fridge to see if they would do something for me. She would write down my concerns but had nothing more to say or do for me since the repair person deemed the unit repairable and a part has been ordered. I called Home Depot on Aug 25 and I spoke to Appliance Dept who told me the manager who could help me was off that day. He advised me to stick weather stripping around the door to seal the leaks. I said I was hesitant to do anything that may void a warranty and he agreed. He suggested I may get a loaner fridge but I have heard nothing yet. I want a replacement fridge. When you pay $2000 for a fridge it should be worry free for at least a year? I have been reading reviews and I am wondering why this is not a recalled appliance as this seems to be a very common problem. I am sad that Whirlpool is not standing behind this product. Home Depot has been in touch with me regarding this fridge issue and the lack of customer service provided by Maytag. They are replacing the fridge on Sept 9th 2016 and taking the old unit away. Home Depot has tried to get in touch with Maytag and they have not gotten a response at all about my faulty unit. The staff at Home Depot in Peterborough have been excellent to speak to and have apologized for the issues with getting service to my appliance. I am very grateful to them for their assistance and for following up with me in this matter. The downside is that I am getting another exact Maytag unit as a replacement so hopefully this does not start all over again. Home Depot has been a great retailer to deal with. I am very saddened to hear that even Home Depot cannot get responses from this manufacturer. I have also lodged a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.

I purchased a Maytag dishwasher in Jan 2012 at Home Depot. It ran fine for 1 and 1/2 years and was only used 2-3 times per week. I returned from vacation and now needs a new control board at a cost of $300. I felt Maytag was a reputable company and am very disappointed. I am a senior and on fixed income and now sorry I chose a Maytag. I will get it fixed this time but that is the last money I will invest in Maytag appliances and repairs. I worry that the washer and dryer will go next as they are also Maytag and are just over 1 yr old.

Would give them 0 Stars if that was an option. Bought a Maytag washer and dryer in Aug 2021. Washer broke Jan 6 2022. Called Maytag/Whirlpool on Jan 6 as it was still under warranty. They only had one service company in our area to work on the washer. I called them and it took them 10 days to come see what is wrong. Ordered parts. Said it would be 2 weeks. We are now 6 weeks into this with no parts. Called customer service and they said they were notified that their service company needed a part and would take another 21 days to resolve. Talked to a supervisor (Demetrius) who sounded like he did NOT want to be in that position. Offered no solution other than we will just have to wait. Threw a 3 month extension for the warranty on which still does not fix the problem. Sad to see this company go down the tubes as it was once a pretty decent business with solid products. No longer.

This washer is no better than a glorified garbage can. Maytag AKA Whirlpool
This washer is no better than a glorified garbage can. Maytag AKA Whirlpool should be ashamed to put their name on this product. Like others before me on this website my washing machine sounds like a jet is taking off in my basement. When I contacted a serviceman, he told me the drum seal is broken and the bearings are shot. I have the machine since April 11, 2011. Not even three years to date! I do not have an extended warranty so shame on me to believe that a 900.00 machine should last well beyond 3 years. Unfortunately, I am getting the run around from Whirlpool as all of you have experienced. This is criminal. Not only are we as consumers being defrauded by irresponsible manufacturing but these huge hunks of metal and plastic are polluting our environment. Our parents had washing machines and dryers for as long as 20 to 25 years and they actually cleaned clothes. We now have high efficiency machines that destroy our clothing and leave them dirty and wrinkled. They are now made to break in 5 years and from what I see on this website the average for breakdown is becoming 3 years. Do you think that this is not by design? The service call turns out to be more than the value of the machine, so the repairman doesnt even profit as consumers refrain from costly repair and repurchase. The only profitability is gained by the manufacturers that keep pushing out junk to the consumer. These manufacturers should be accountable like the American auto-manufacturers became accountable for the junk they manufactured at the expense of a whole city, Detroit.

Echoing the sentiments of others on this site, I am deeply disappointed in Maytag brand appliances manufactured by the Whirlpool Corp. When, for the first time in my life, I was able to buy all brand new kitchen appliances, I didnt even consider any other brand but Maytag. This was based on many decades of using Maytag products and watching my mother use them. I come from a big family so our appliances got used hard, and the Maytag brand ones worked year after year, decade after decade with little or no maintenance. To put it quite frankly, my new Maytag products are junk. I could supply a whole laundry list of problems but, in the interest of space, will just tell about the latest. A couple of weeks ago the fake tin foil paint on my oven and burner knobs just started falling off, revealing cheap plastic underneath. When I called Maytag to complain, I was asked how I clean the knobs. I told them that when I clean the stove front I remove the knobs and drop them in warm water with a couple drops of Dawn dishwashing liquid for the few minutes it takes to clean and polish the stove front, and that I had been using this same procedure for 2 years. The rep. hemmed and hawed awhile and then went away to consult her database. When she returned she told me that one is not allowed to soak the knobs per the manual, and therefore she could not offer any help. She then generously offered to transfer me to the parts department, where the rep. informed me that replacements would cost $70 EACH, thats a total of $350 plus shipping for 5 cheap plastic knobs. WOW! What a deal! I tell everyone I meet NOT to buy any Maytag branded product, and to apply extreme skepticism before considering any Whirlpool product. (BTW - the last certified Maytag appliance repairman to come & fix one of the appliances essentially admitted they are junk.) Model #: MGR8775AS SN: R32810432.

My Maytag Series 300 Dishwasher would not start. I read the reviews and took the door off (easy if you have the right tool), removed the control panel box (one screw), and cleaned the ribbon with electronic cleaner as per someones suggestion. It started right up. This is a bad design. Would I buy another Maytag? - No way! We will see how long this lasts. There is no seal on the door to keep out humidity. Do we really need a new control panel? When this is done...I am done with Maytag!

I purchased a new Maytag range (gas) in June of 2012 - 6 months ago. I have had the same problem many others have had (as Ive just read) with the toxic smell every time I used the oven. I was told it was just the chemical burning off from being new. I have never owned a new oven so I took their word for it. On Christmas day, my kids and I were going to bake cookies and set the oven to preheat. Flames and black smoke were shooting out of the range, and the fire department was called. Even after the fire department put out the fire and removed the stove from my kitchen to my front porch, they spent more time investigating the situation to make sure my home was safe than the certified Maytag repair person that was dispatched out by Maytag to service the range. This stove is only 6 months old and still under warranty with Maytag. The service person they sent out did not take the stove apart and spent less than 5 minutes looking it over; then he determined that it was a grease fire caused by owner’s negligence. I disagreed with him and told him I have been cooking for many years and thought he did not do a thorough job to determine the problem with the range. He got very upset with me, took his bag and left without leaving me a service slip. I asked Maytag to send someone else out and explained to them that this service person did not do a sufficient job in examining the range, nor did he perform any kind of service to get the range back in working condition. Maytag claims they will not send anyone else out, and there is nothing more they will do for me. They say it is my fault it caught fire; and if I want it fixed, I have to pay for it myself even though it is still under warranty with them. My stove is still on my porch where it has been since Christmas day. I then visited Maytags Facebook page and corresponded with others whom have had similar issues with their products and the lack of customer service from this company. Maytag has now blocked me from commenting on their Facebook page. The customer service rep on that site asked me to email her all my information about the range and my issues with it, and she assured me she would respond to the matter. As of yet, I have heard nothing back. I am terribly dismayed by the way I have been treated by this company, their so-called certified service technician, and that they do not honor their warranties or stand by their products. I am cooking for a family of 5 in a 12-year-old microwave (which is not a Maytag by the way) after spending over $600.00 on a brand new range.

Maytag used to make a great laundry machine. The barrel of the Bravos XL machine is very deep, and it is difficult to reach the bottom of the machine to get clothes out. My biggest complaint is that the clothes dont get clean; there is not enough water filling the machine to clean the clothes. The clothes get wet, but there is no agitator, and the water isnt deep enough to suspend the dirt and wash it away, even on the deep wash setting. There is also a lot of lint left on the clothes that cant rinse off. Why is the barrel of the machine so deep if it only fills up 1/6 of the height? I had great hopes, but I really regret buying it.

Shortly after purchasing my Maytag refrigerator had to pay for a new motor in the ice maker. The cover for the lower large food tray broke. Now approx. 4 years later am getting ice build-up on the bottom of the lower freezer unit, about one-half inch thick. It takes one week to get service company out and then another week for the part to be ordered and put in. This means I am without a dryer for over 2 weeks. An $1,100 dryer goes out every year and sometimes within one month?! According to the service company, it just is the way this dryer works. Really? After buying this dishwasher model MDB6759WWW3 in Jan. 2010, I fully expected it to work longer than it did! So far, the control panel has been replaced 5 times. The last time was Sept. 17, 2012 and already it is out again. I talked with Customer Service, since Georgia has a lemon law. After 4 times it is to be replaced. They had no record of the part that was replaced, just that a technician had come and repaired (by ordering the same part they had no knowledge of). This time they will either replace or instead of me calling, my lawyer will call. I will never buy another Maytag product and will encourage anyone else not to buy either. My daughter had the same experience with a refrigerator, a piece of junk they did nothing about. By the way, I have an extended warranty plan, which should not even be necessary!

I had the old style machine and finally it gave out and I bought an LG HE Large capacity. It was a well I can print it here but kept the machine for 5 years and gave it away. I bought a new Bravo Maytag set 5.2 with the old style agitator thinking I was going to get a great machine and NO. These new machines do not use enough water in the load sensing and clothes on top never get in the water. They come out with soap stains even with a double rinse. And no I am not using too much soap! My old machine had small medium and large load settings plus you could add more water if needed. Way better machine. The techs are trained to tell you this is how the machines work and there is nothing wrong with them. Finally an honest tech told me they are having all sorts of complaints and problems. If all you wash is bedding and dress clothes you get by but if you really have soiled clothes you have to do a lot of prep and then stop in the middle of the wash cycle and rotate your clothes manually! Total BS for 8-900 dollar machines. Do yourself a favor and buy a front load. At least the clothes will get flopped in and out of the water and hopefully rotate so they actually get clean. That is what I am going to try before I go back to the old scrub board and tub!

I bought the Maytag Bravo XL washer and dryer several years ago after reading many reviews. I like the glass top of the washing machine and the front door glass on the dryer. The dryer is fine its the washing machine that does not perform like the old machines. Whoever came up with the bright idea of saving water by cutting down the volume in your machine to about 6 inches for a good size load probably have never used a washing machine in their life. It does not get your clothes clean and does not get the soap out of a clothing to my satisfaction. Who made this suggestion? I write this as the repairman is fixing my Neptune washer. As with many other complaints, I was experiencing the awful mold smell with the only fix being leaving the washer door open when not in use. This works but for the past few years a switch on the front broke which means we have had to leave the top off the washer and rig it every time we used it. Sometimes it would work and sometimes an error code would show and I would have to just turn to spin and finish that way. At the same time in 2005, I purchased all Maytag appliances. First the microwave went out then the ice maker broke and is still broken, then the dishwasher went out and had to be replaced. Washer broke so basically the only thing that has had no issues is the oven and all happened just outside the five-year warranty. Never again will I buy Maytag.

I purchased Maytag refrigerator (model # MSD2572VES). The fridge side stopped working. I was told that the vent/chute between the freezer and fridge ices up and prevents the cold air from the freezer to go through the fridge. The tech said that Maytag was sending him a tube of silicone to apply all around freezer and fridge and that this will probably fix the problem. So in other words, because of a design flaw, the refrigerator cannot function without adding silicone (maybe). I believe I purchased a lemon with a design flaw and they want me to accept a permanent band-aid as the solution. Shouldnt I have right to demand another model instead of having to accept a cheap alternative (silicone)? Now, if factory installed parts break off, can you imagine silicone tubed in after the fact where there was no silicone crevasse? I cant imagine it staying on - permanently.

Dishwasher Model #MDB7609AWW2 - I have replaced the touchpad once a year for 4 years. Went online and learned a DIY repair using a Permatex Rear Window Defogger Repair Kit to fill in the touchpad broken circuits. I have repaired it once a year for 2 years. My suggestion is to avoid purchasing this product. Apparently even after multiple consumers have contacted Maytag regarding this widespread defect, Maytag has not issued a recall or assisted anyone. They say if the part can be replaced there is no issue. When the dishwasher works, it is great, however it WILL NOT last. Touchpad will fail and you will be out $124 for the part plus labor unless you do the repair yourself.

I purchased a Maytag Legacy Series Quiet Series 300 in early July 2010. It had a recall for a heater part that could potentially burn down my house, so we couldnt use it while we waited for that part to be replaced. They offered me a small sum of money towards the purchase of a much more expensive dishwasher which I declined since Id only had the dishwasher a few months at the most. It is now the end of August 2011, a month past their factory warranty. The dishwasher did not get my dishes clean, made awful grinding noises and three days ago, it refused to drain and then spewed 50 or more gallons of water all over my kitchen which then leaked into the basement. The repairman charged $85 to tell me that the computer in the control panel had burned out and was not fixable. I think I paid somewhere in the region of $500 for this machine. My last dishwasher lasted about ten years. This is completely unacceptable. In searching the internet, I found hundreds, if not thousands of identical complaints. Clearly, this machine is a lemon and Maytag should be forced to replace it or better yet, refund the money spent to purchase the machine. Plus, pay for my valuable time spent mopping up water, washing dishes by hand, searching the internet for probable cause and potential solutions, waiting for Maytag/Home Depot to respond to my inquiries and a large sum for general annoyance. Maytag had a reputation of reliability (emphasis on had). Theyve got some slick ads but they do not stand behind their products at all. I will never by another Maytag product and I urge you to do the same.
