I have had this dishwasher less than 2 years, Maytag model # MDB7749SBM2. The control panel started acting up, it would not let me select a wash cycle, it would select its own and I could not change it. After reading these reviews, I took off the control panel and discovered the wires which are encased in a plastic were all darkened and messed up. I will try to replace it on my own but if I have to I will buy another brand as this dishwasher hasnt really cleaned my dishes all that well to begin with.

I purchased my Maytag Centennial Commercial Technology MVWC200XW in May 2012. This is the second time in almost 3 years that it breaks down. The basket decided to drop today and by the time I realized that it did, my whole bathroom had flooded, the water spread down the hall into my spare bedroom and soaked through the floor, also flooding my basement. I called customer service. They are sending a repair man next week, but as for all my ceramic tiles that are now cracked in my bathroom and my hardwood in the hall and bedroom that is full of water and are lifting off the ground. Its my responsibility to call my insurances to fix it. Yet it was their washing machine that caused the damage in the first place. When I purchased the washer I didnt expect to have to repair it every year. Not impressed! I do not recommend this washer.

Great when it works properly and doesnt leak! Quietness, cycles. Everything that had to go in went in, well laid out. Stainless steel, clean, good looking. Anything with the Maytag name doesnt last any more than a couple of years. Gone through a washer and dryer with no help from Maytag. The dishwasher was replaced by Maytag because the main circuit board was on backorder for more than 5 months. Washer was replaced with a Samsung. If I had to replace the dishwasher out of pocket I would go to Korea or Europe to do so. Maytag, what a huge fall in quality and reliability!

Maytag Dryer MED6000XR2 - Purchased in Sept. 2012 - first service call 1/13/14; 2nd service call 2/20/2015 and less than one month on 3/14/15 it goes out again. It takes one week to get service company out and then another week for the part to be ordered and put in. This means I am without a dryer for over 2 weeks. An $1,100 dryer goes out every year and sometimes within one month?! According to the service company, it just is the way this dryer works. Really? If Maytag ever wants my business again, I better get a more justified reason and better than 2 weeks service call. This is absolutely ridiculous.

Maytag Dishwasher Model MDB 7749SAM0 - Bought this dishwasher from Lowes in 2012 for my daughter and son-in-laws new home. Thought I was making a good choice with Maytag. Wrong. Same control board problem that everyone else is having. Wiring ribbon is corroded and shorted. Why is this not a re-call? I will call Maytag and Lowes and complain, but likely will get no justice. Sounds like I should just bring this machine to the dump and take my losses.

Purchase of what we thought was high quality Maytag dishwasher. Paid $600 and $250 to get it installed, which was really just to take out the old dishwasher we wish now we had kept, and plug in the new one. After 2 years, repairs needed to replace the control panel and key pad must be replaced, cost $340 plus labor. We will never buy Maytag again. Called their hotline, 800-877-6777. They cannot offer any help. Called the co. we bought it from, a Maytag dealer, Haleys Maytag of Antigonish, Nova Scotia. They too offered nothing except to sell us parts... control panel and key pad. Called lawyer who has class action suit now against Maytag, Eppsteiner & Florica. They are not representing customers who live in Canada, only U.S.My recommendation to Maytag dealer who only sells Maytags, Haleys Maytag of Antigonish, Nova Scotia, find another company to represent. Maytag is a real loser. Never again purchase a Maytag, and I told 10 people who will tell 10 people... who will tell 10 people. Our model number... same as all of yours... the loser MDB6709AWW1. Dont waste your money buying this overpriced dishwasher that will then require you to spend more money every 2 years on a Control panel and Key pad that are defective from the factory.

DO NOT BUY Whirlpool Corp Appliances, ESPECIALLY MAYTAG. They do not stand behind the units they sell. We dropped $600 on this Commercial Grade wash machine (5.3 cu. ft. High-Efficiency White Top Load Washing Machine with Deep Clean Option, ENERGY STAR Model MVW7232HW) and paid to upgrade the lines to stainless steel. It died after 22 months, a bad seal leaked water internally, fried some components (no water ever leaked from the unit onto the floor) and despite there being a 10-year limited manufacturer warranty on parts sticker on the unit... the fine print says only the tub and motor are covered. There is no way we could have known the seal was leaking and it was not the result of misuse (overloading) or abuse. The parts to fix it are back-ordered months and cost more than a new unit after install. Glad I paid $150 to learn all this. It also did not wash great on most settings. Purchased at Home Depot, they refused to stand behind the product as well.

I bought a Maytag washer 1 year and 1 month ago (MVWB835DW1), Hated this washer since day one. It does not wash clothes very well, does not even cover them fully with water. The mini agitator at the bottom does not move he close it just spins on the bottom of them. Now it started making a very high pitch squeal when it spins and of course it is one month past the manufacture warranty so I call a repairman and the first thing he says to me is Im sorry for your purchase, it was a bad one and it will cost me 600$ to repair because the bearing is bad. And my bad for not getting an extended warranty but I have never had a washing machine work this bad and break within the first 13 month of owning it??? Lesson learned I guess!

We bought a Maytag dishwasher on 9/22/2012. Model number MDB7759SAB. Within the past couple of months, it has been very temperamental. The control panel started beeping continuously and some of the functions wouldnt work anymore while others continued to work too well; in that the dishwasher on occasion would rewash several times without anyone starting the machine again. The dishwasher also started leaking water... As of yesterday, the dishwasher control panel stopped responding and then out of the blue, the dishwasher turned itself on in the middle of the night! We called customer service and they said they could send a repairman out for around $89 and then we would have to pay for the parts needed and the cost of labor. After reading many reviews sounding exactly the same as mine, my husband and I are against repairing this lousy machine. Its absolutely ridiculous for a dishwasher to quit unexpectedly like this. Our question now is, which brand to purchase for our next dishwasher? No more junk please!!

I purchased an LG (white) washer last year, but my husband upgraded all appliances to stainless, including Maytag washer and dryer. The washer does not fill with enough water to cover the clothes. It barely agitates them to wash. Some clothes even come out with dry spots on them at times! They smell and are still dirty when done. I have tried every setting hoping that was the issue. Normal, power wash, none work any better! Had to resort to the soak function which does not add fabric softener or drain the water completely. Thankfully I didnt sell or get rid of the LG. Putting the LG back in asap. Nevermind the mixed color finishes of white and stainless between the washer and dryer. Clean clothes most important! Piece of garbage and complete rip off!

We bought Maytag Dishwasher on October 9, 2019. Due to the installation difficulties we were not able to install and try it right away. Lowes warranty expired in 30 days, and the dishwasher is not cleaning the dishes. Even with the hand prewash of all of them-they come out dirty. I have to clean them after. The dishwasher is very weak. We contacted Maytag and were told that they can do nothing for us, only send technician (we have to pay $160 per visit). We can not return or replace it, the quality is very poor, so we will have just to buy a new dishwasher and lose 500$ for this product.

Purchased a Maytag range with Aqualift technology in 2013 thinking it was a good brand and *happy* to find a new way to self-clean my oven. This turns out to be nothing but a joke and I am not *happy* with it. After following directions to the letter, there is some loosening of anything on the floor of the oven, but the sides and top are slowly being coated with more and more grease. Ive spent way too much time with my head in the oven trying to scrub stuff without using a heavy duty cleaner but feel I now need to resort to Easy Off as there is no other way to get it clean. I also dont understand why they tell you to remove the racks since there obviously isnt enough going on to even clean the oven... How would the racks be damaged? And now I believe there is a problem with the Dual Choice element where Im not able to turn the temperature down. Even turned back to the low setting, the pan cooks away like its on high. I have to keep turning it off and then back on in an attempt to find something similar to medium or low heat. Im so very disappointed in Maytag and feel this method of oven cleaning should never have been put on the market. Its a scam!

I bought a Maytag Dryer from Lowes in December of 2013. I paid 600.00 for this dryer which I thought was going to last for quite awhile. It stopped working in January of 2016. (2 years old). I had a repairman come out and he said the motor had burned out and he wanted 300.00 to fix it. I called Lowes and asked if I should expect the motor to burn out in 2 years; they said of course not - call Maytag. That proved to be a complete waste of time. They would do nothing. They simply said that there was not a recall on that machine and they were not technicians. However they would be glad to send someone for 125.00 dollars to look at it, then the parts and labor would be more. I have never had a dryer burn out in 2 years - not even when I was raising children and using a dryer daily. This Maytag clothes dryer isnt even used every week and when it is used, there are a few small loads. I am appalled and disappointed in Maytag and the poor quality of this appliance as well as their horrible customer service.

We have had this washing machine almost 1 year and the small problems have grown enormous. In addition to the constant soap residue left on the dark clothes (my guess is its on the light clothes too, but you just cant see it) the washer goes out of balance frequently (they are replacing the suspension, after they said its all working great). The repair man said Im not loading the clothes properly, I need to roll each item of clothing into a ball and then place it in the washer. Are you kidding me, my new machine has special needs? And dont put in too large of loads. What!!! Its an XL capacity but I cant do an extra large load, because half the clothes wont get wet or clean. Maytag blew it big time with these models, I could talk about the dryer too. Maybe next time.

My husband bought me a brand new Bravo Maytag washer and dryer from Home Depot in November 2010. In May of 2011, we moved and the dryer hookup was electric instead of gas. My husband knew how much I love the dryer, so he surprised me with another Bravo dryer to match the washer. We put the other dryer in storage and were happy with our purchase until April. In April 2012, the dryer stopped working. It wouldnt dry the clothes at all, and every time we tried to dry, the dryer was filled with wet lint. We were only a week away from moving again, so we waited until we got to the new house. The new house had gas hookups. So, we put the dryer that didnt work in storage and were thankful we didnt get rid of the other dryer. Now, just a few months later, the gas dryer isnt drying and is having the same issues as the electric dryer. How very disappointing! Both dryers are broken now, and it has only been 2 years. Each dryer has gotten about a year of use and then both quit. My husband, I and my two-year-old dont do that much laundry to break 2 dryers. My old GE washer and dryer lasted for years and is still working. We gave them to my husbands aunt who uses them and loves them. I agree someone should start a class action against Maytag. These issues are ridiculous!

I purchased a Maytag refrigerator, stove, dishwasher and microwave in 2006.
I purchased a Maytag refrigerator, stove, dishwasher and microwave in 2006. Like another commenter, I also insisted on all Maytag appliances. What a huge disappointment. About four months into owning the microwave, a computer module had to be replaced. The microwave stopped working about six weeks out of warranty. It just stopped working, period. I was told by Maytag that they consider microwave a disposable product and they would not cover the repairs. It was cheaper to buy a new one than repair the old one so I replaced it with another brand. The dishwasher failed after 4.5 years (would not drain) and again it was cheaper to replace it than fix it. The oven range handle broke off (normal use) in August 2011 and that cost me approximately $200 for the part and the service call. The refrigerator has had two service calls for the ice maker to replace the motor. The first was covered by Maytag, the second by me. This occurred when the unit was approximately three years old. In August 2011, I had another $90 repair because the ice maker drain (?) was plugged and had to be cleared fixed. I have never been able to pay what I paid for these appliances. Prior to this, we always purchased a middle-range appliance and we never had problems like this.I will never purchase another Maytag product again. This is so disappointing. I live in MI and I wanted to support a MI business. Unfortunately, I wont be able to help out this particular company any longer. Dont buy Maytag appliances. It is a waste of money.

I was repairing this Maytag Maxima washer and was almost electrocuted. I simply grabbed the wrong screws which were too long for the door switch, one screw went through into the open/close switch and contacted voltage, thus causing a direct short to the chassis and me. It also damaged my control board (the most expensive one in the industry), now Im out an extra $220 because Whirlpool made an engineering error. A screw should not be located so close (millimeters) to a voltage source where a simple mindless mistake could cause electrocution and possibly death. As for the washers operation, the drain pump failed after just two years, it sometimes leaks water out the front because debris gets into the boot drain back holes. It smells like mildew even though we leave the door open, my clothes stink, Affresh is costly and really doesnt help much. It does a decent job of cleaning, not as good as the old top loaders but it saves water. I think next tax return time this machine goes up for sale and we get a better machine.

I had a stackable Maytag dryer that was bought in 2016 but only used during the summer of 2017. Last May the dryer stopped heating. I contacted Maytag and they sent a repairman a week or so later. He identified the problem in the electronic control and ordered a replacement part. The part came and he installed it a week later. The part was faulty and he ordered a replacement for the replacement. It arrived a week later and also did not work. He said he had problems with replacement parts but contacted the technical service department at Maytag as he did the first time. The technical service person said there were problems associated with new software being not compatible with dryers in the last year and we needed a new control panel. I contacted Maytag again waiting the usual hour to get through on the phone. They agreed to replace the parts for free and ordered a control panel that arrived a week later. The technician installed both parts but they did not work. I contacted Maytag again and after waiting the required hour talked to a person who said she would contact the department who could arrange a replacement. They contacted me a few days later and said they would supply a replacement for $250. This was delivered a week or so later but they did not have a stacking kit and returned to the delivery company with the dryer. A week later they returned with the stacking kit but forgot the dryer. A week later they returned with both the dryer and stacking kit but the installer (always a different person) said he was too big to get in the space behind the dryer and that the venting supplied was wrong.I bought new venting from Home Depot and a new installer arrived a week later. He said the new venting was not necessary and in fact wrong and installed the dryer. It ran but foolishly I did not check to see if it heated and neither did the installers or if they did took off without letting me know that the dryer, like the one that was replaced did not heat. I discovered this a couple of days later when I tried to use it. I contacted Maytag and they setup an appointment for a new service technician to visit. I contacted Maytag again today hoping to get some explanation of what might happen next or some explanation. They had no idea but did inform me that they would not replace the new dryer but would start repairs again.

We bought a Maytag dryer from Lowes on 4.23.20 for $567.87. From Day 1, it required us to dry even medium loads at least 2 times and sometimes even 3 times. I have been complaining to my husband since we got it. The clothes come out smelling almost burnt. But if you dry it once, the clothes are wet. And if you try to dry it the 2nd time for less time, its still not dry. So, it takes forever to do laundry. This morning, it sounded like a lot of metal was rattling around. So, I looked inside to see if change was in there, and nothing was in there but t-shirts and socks. It had been drying for less than a minute, but when I opened the door a wave of extreme heat hit my face. Now Im afraid to use it because I think it will eventually burn our house down. And with COVID-19, we do tons of laundry. We cant afford another dryer but may have no choice.

Last year we replaced a Maytag dishwasher which had a faulty control panel after just a few years of light use (There are just the two of us). It was going to cost almost as much to repair it as to buy a new dishwasher, so we opted for an $800 model (MDB8959AWW6) with a control panel across the top of the door. There had been a recall on that first Maytag for the heating element or something, so we decided to put the credit towards a machine that would last us for years, we hoped! We have been in this house for 18 years and the original cheap builder-installed dishwasher lasted for 12 years. In fact, there was nothing wrong with it when we replaced it with the last one. Whatever happened to the lonely Maytag repair man? We did not buy an extended warranty, but I can see now that probably these things are only meant to last the lifetime of the warranty. We are semi-retired and cannot afford to have the dishwasher repaired, so it will be a decoration in the kitchen from on. Never ever will I recommend Maytag to anyone! One bad experience should have been enough, and we probably would not have bought a Maytag again had it not been for the credit we got for the product recall on the last one!

Ran washer with extra rinse and clothes came out with dry spots. The only way to get clean wash is to wash everything on bulky/sheets. We lost every appliance in Sandy. If I had known the machine was so-called water saver I never would have purchased it. I was in a hurry. I hate the machine.

Maytag Dishwasher MDB7749SBW3 - Control panel problem just like everyone else describes. Bought in Nov 2014... how disappointing!! My husband is sure he can fix it if I buy the part. I went online to order the control panel, and of course because Im in Canada I cant ship the part directly from the website, I have to call the Canadian Sears Part Dept., its about $200! As I came across all these reviews I am even contemplating if I should waste our time and money trying to fix this thing... Maytag never again!!!

Mine is the same sad story as all the others. Bought our Maytag dishwasher in 2013 (model MDB7749) and 15 months later, the control panel went out. We have contacted Maytag and they basically told us it could be our fault it doesnt work, so they wont fix it. Now we have learned that this is an issue that A LOT of people are having. We called their special number for this problem and were told they still wouldnt fix it since we called BEFORE having it repaired. So my question is, how is this legal and why arent they recalling this product? I know that there was a class action lawsuit against Maytag for this problem. Why dont we hold them accountable as well? This is bad business and we shouldnt allow them to take advantage of hard working people like this.

So we purchased a whole package in sept 2014 for our newly constructed home. In Nov we received the CO and thats when everything was finally professionally installed. After its first wash the dishwasher broke and there was a flood in the house and soaked 20% of the newly installed high quality cabinets. We cleaned up everything and called Maytag to have someone inspect it to see what needs to be fixed. The gentleman came about a week or two later and said that the machine isnt worth fixing and to try to get Maytag to replace the whole machine, but he still listed all the parts that were needed to fix it. We tried calling Maytag and said what the repairman said but they said he must fix it and they will not provide a new one. So we wait for the parts and no one calls us. We follow up with Maytag and they say theyve ordered the wrong parts so it will take longer. We try calling the repair man and he doesnt call us back. Then call Maytag again and get them to call the repairman to see why he doesnt answer us. They told him to call us twice and every time he tells Maytag that hes called us and we dont pick up. So we tell Maytag hes lying, the repairman hasnt called us for weeks and Maytag doesnt give a **. And seems like this repairman is freaking lazy and doesnt want to work, even if hes paid for it. You know whats happening now? Chargeback! Thats right Maytag, screw you. When I do another house I will never buy Maytag again! Horrible service and a very defective product. I thought we were paying for quality!! They lost a customer that is faithful and doesnt mind paying extra. Hope everyone can take this into consideration before buying. I wish I wouldve seen these comments before...

We purchased a front-load Maytag washing machine (Model MHW3505FW1) two years ago this month. When the machine is empty, we always leave to door open. We dont allow clothes to stay in it for long, never for more than a day (the load is usually changed as soon as the cycle is over). Right now, the rubber seal on the front has tons of black mold on it, and when I lift the seal to look underneath, its way worse. There have been many problems like this reported on front-loaders. Wish Id known! Maytag will not send a replacement seal.

Not long after dishwasher MDB7609AWB2 was out of warranty the START switch on the keyboard would not work. Called dealer and they sent someone out to check for a charge not quite $100. Could not fix it so said it needed a new control panel which with labor was almost $200. Doesnt work so get it fixed. Now less than 3 years later the same thing has happened - wont start. Lousy engineering and part probably made in China to save Maytag money, I feel is the cause. This is happening over and over to those of us who purchased in good faith what used to be a reliable product from a reliable company.

Brand and excellent reputation. Had my last Maytag washer & dryer over 25-years and had no problems with either. Thats why I bought Maytag again. Repairs are very costly when you have to pay technicians. Dont like poor quality construction or enamel chipping when you place items on them. Very easy to clean both of them. Practically no lint dust emitted into the room from the dryer. Had no problems with my previous washer & dryer. Thats why I purchased a full size Maytag washer and dryer again.

Maytag, Whirlpool, and Sears are junk dealers. We bought a Maytag Bravo topload washer in April 2011. Shortly after the first year, after using it once weekly, it began to stop draining. Clothes were soaked, meaning lots of wringing out by hand and using the dryer double time to get them dry. There are no clogs or kinks in the line. The machine is junk! It should have lasted much longer than this. I am not going to spend more money to have a repair person come and check on it. Its not worth it. Im going to buy a GE washer, the old-fashioned kind that gets clothes clean. Maytag, Whirlpool, and Sears are much worse-off breeds these days. They are off the list for good. Their products are a joke. Unfortunately, Im not laughing, but close to tears. Enjoy my money, you **.

Within a year of purchasing this washing machine, I needed to schedule a repair service because the washer started making an unfamiliar noise. Repair Service shows up and refuses to touch my washer. The ink on the Serial and Model number (stick on label) inside the washing machine door has washed off. Sticker label in excellent shape, except all the ink has come off. If the Repair Serviceman cannot read the label, NO SERVICE FOR YOU. MY SAGA... Did you know that if your washer or dryer does not have a readable serial number on the machine, NO repair service will work on it. It does not matter if you have all the paperwork showing this information. If the original label is unreadable, no repair service will touch it because they will be fired. Maytag changes parts on a model all the time. The serial number is the ONLY way a serviceman can tell exactly what parts your washer was made with. Apparently the serial and model number label sticker was not printed with permanent ink. The Repair Service said the Serial and Model number ink washed off the label because the sticker was incorrectly put on the inside of the washer door at the bottom. But they were WRONG! Maytag shows online that is exactly where the serial and model number sticker is supposed to be located. So, I called Maytag to order a new serial number (stick on) label for our washer. I gave Maytag the information and I was told I would have the label in two weeks. Then I called back a week or so later to make sure the serial number was ordered and on the way. Maytag said there was a misunderstanding, and that they received my request on 6/17/15 and it was sent to the ONE AND ONLY GUY that makes replacement serial number tags and he was sent my request on 6/22/15. Maytag said it would take the one and only man quite some time to make the label (SINCE THERE IS ONLY ONE!!!) and I could expect to receive the replacement label in 4 to 6 weeks and they were sorry, but there was absolutely NOTHING they could do about it. So as my year old washer sits for over a month, Im going to the Laundromat each week. We should have received the new serial number on August 6, 2015. So it’s taken almost 2 months and my label is close to two weeks late. To date I have not received my serial number. I tried to use MAYTAG chat, dont bother, they said they couldnt help me. I needed to call in. So I emailed Maytag today for their support services to tell me WHEN I can expect to receive my new serial number label. I bought this through hhGregg. Check your Maytag washer. IF THE SERIAL NUMBER AND MODEL NUMBER LABEL ARE INSIDE THE DOOR, CHECK TO SEE IF THE INK IS COMING OFF THE MACHINE LABEL, and order a new one NOW if it is, or you will not be able to get your washer serviced. Do not put new label back on the inside of the washer door. This is just unbelievable.

I purchased a Maytag refrigerator (MBF2258XEB), stove (MER8674AB) and dishwasher (MDB7749SBB) on May 26, 2013. So far all three have been worked on. First, the dishwasher would not fill up with water after the trial run. Called the repairman out. A tag was placed in a position that was preventing the dishwasher from loading up with water. Granted, we should have taken the tag off, however, it stated not to. Lucky for me, I am still under warranty. Second, the refrigerator, which is a freezer at the bottom, started to leak. I thought that maybe we were dropping ice. However, I finally called and had the repairman back out. He knew exactly what the problem was because Maytag knew about it. There was a faulty plug. So in a matter of mins the problem was fixed. Lucky me still under warranty. Those two things happen within six months of purchasing these items. Now, the oven does not work. It heats up to the desire temperature but then cuts off. Called the repairman and he thought it might be the lower baking element. Unlucky for me, warranty has expired. So, $90.00 for service call. Received a called from the repairman, $120.00 for labor and $70.00 for the baking element. I purchased the baking element myself, $58.08 and installed it. Still does the same thing. Now I have another appointment for him to come back out and see what is wrong. Another $90.00! So far I have spent $238.08 on a $699.99 stove. I will never buy Maytag again. Depending on the amount to repair will depend on whether or not I go back to Sears and buy Kenmore. I had Kenmore for 10 years with no problems. I should have gone back to Sears for my upgrade. I did contact Maytag via email. I am still waiting for a reply. Live and learn!

I bought this washer in November of 2012 thinking it’s one of the best because it is a Maytag. Five months later, the wash machine needed a new gear case because it was making this horrible loud noise when it was washing and spinning. The service guy came over and replaced this part. Now, the washer does not want to spin. The clothes are soaked, and I have to stand there and manually turn the knob to spin it; and it still doesnt spin right. This is the worst experience I’ve ever had with a washing machine, and I regret ever buying this Maytag. They should recall this series of washers because there is something really wrong when you have to have it repaired twice, and it is not even a year old!

First of all, Whirlpool owns the Maytag brand. Ive seen a few reviewers on here say I will never buy Maytag! Im buying Whirlpool from now on! I picture the executives smiling and nodding, Good. Maytag used to be great - machines lasted 20 years or more. Now they last about three. After one year, the paint on the washer was bubbling and coming off, and now its starting to rust. The warranty doesnt cover cosmetic defects beyond 30 days, and the warranty for the rest of the machine is only one year. Theres a reason for that - the machine will undoubtedly have problems after that. Multiple calls to Maytag/Whirlpool and they do not care. Terrible product, terrible customer service. I tell everyone I know never to buy Maytag or Whirlpool.

My Maytag dishwasher (MDB7749AWM) stopped working at only 15 months. I had a technician check it and he said its the control panel not responding after he opened the door panel. Its when I searched online for replacement part I learned about the defective control panel. So I decided to forgo repair and bought a new dishwasher. I feel the manufacturer should be held responsible and called the number found on the internet, 858-646-8500, about a class action lawsuit filed in California federal court. The lawyer handling the case called me back that day explaining to me its a long road before the case qualifies for class lawsuit. Because I live in Texas, he will need someone to represent Texas plaintiffs in order to include Texas in the national settlement down the road. I said, I dont expect anything but would like to see a class action. Since I have no use of the defective dishwasher, he asked if I am willing to send the machine to him at his expense. I said yes. For all of you complaining about the defective dishwasher, I suggest you to call the number to join the lawsuit. Even though we may not see a penny for long, long time, its the only way to punish the deceptive business.

I have had this refrigerator for less than 3 years. It recently started leaking water on the floor and all over the bottom of the freezer. Repairman said it is a flaw with the defrost drain design. He thinks Maytag MIGHT have changed it since I purchased mine, but I dont know. Originally they used this small rubber valve;repairman said they get clogged very easily (even though I vacuum around it regularly and dont have any pets). He replaced that part with something sturdy that looks like a p trap. I looked online and there are loads of complaints about this exact issue with the defrost drain clogging. It cost $250 to have it repaired. I called Maytag to ask to be reimbursed and of course they will not do anything since it is out of warranty. Its a shame Maytag wont stand behind their products. Bravo XL Washer & Dryer - I have owned this set for just over 90 days and have called Maytag several times just to get insulted. The customer service representative is not helpful at all, and tells me that I am not using HE detergent or that I am using too much HE detergent. Furthermore, they tell me that if a service technician comes to my home and nothing is wrong that I will get charged. So much for the extended warranty and what is wrote on the Maytag site. I explain each time that I am using name brand HE detergent and the recommended amount. The soap dispenser in the machine provides a fill line that I fill to. I have even tried using less detergent as recommended by the appliance store that I purchased the machine from, and still the washer does not clean my laundry and leaves residue on everything. I have even tried using the extra rinse, and extra heavy soil setting which does not make a difference at all.The other concern is that the clean washer feature light flashes weekly. I have purchased the cleaning tabs recommended to clean the machine, and run this clean cycle every time the light comes on. The dryer does not work all that well either and shuts off before the laundry is dry. Sometimes the dryer will show an error of airflow restriction or low airflow. This is confusing because the dryer vent and hose are clean, and the lint filter is also clean. This is so disappointing because I thought Maytag had great products. However, as I read other reviews about these machines and the customer service representatives it seems that there is a systemic problem with the machines and the customer service representatives that needs to be addressed by the leadership at Maytag.

In examining the lid, we discovered that the screws were in tact but the information panel on the inside of the lid had come unglued causing the lid to be obstructed from closing properly. After calling Maytag we were told that they make a quality product and, in what I consider to be a condescending reply, could not help us. Replacement of the lid with the service call would cost almost the cost of this expensive washer. So disappointed in what we thought was a wise purchase!

Purchased a pair washer/dryer Maytag Bravo XL module from Home Depot, Brentwood, CA #1076 branch. The first day I received my machines, the dryer had a defect. I called them within 24 hours to report the issue and requesting a return. Home Depot wont take it back; they said I have to go though the factory warranty to fix any problems. Its like buying a car, once you drive it off the lot its yours they said. 3 weeks after the washer started making noise. Home Depot kept delaying my claim for more than six month so I couldnt dispute the charges with the credit card company and avoid the California lemon law. I consider this a loss of money and time. Worst appliance purchase experience ever.

I bought a Maytag Centennial Commercial washer, 3.8 cubic feet, Model # MVWC425BW on September 17, 2014. My clothes were never clean and barely wet. The machine took almost 2 hours to do a load of clothes and they werent even clean! I bought the 3-year extended warranty through Lowe’s. Three years and 8 days later the machine stopped working. Serviceman came out and told me the washer was fatally wounded. He said the transmission failed. He also told me the replacement part would be $400.00 and that it wasnt worth it. He said these machines are junk and Maytag has had all kinds of issues with them. So Maytag knows these machines fail and yet do nothing for their consumers. Maytag, you will only ride on your name for so long; consumers are catching on. Maybe back in my Moms day you were the go-to brand but Im afraid that ship has sailed. Ive always gone with Maytag but now I question that choice. I came on Consumer Affairs page to see what brand I could buy other than Maytag. Seems Kenmore gets high marks.

The Maytag Refrigerator Model #MFF2558VEW2 I purchased from Sears is a lemon. Ive had problems with the freezer getting a sheet of ice, under the storage basket. The ice starts melting, and pours out on the floor. I have to remove everything from the freezer basket, remove the sheet of ice, and mop the floor. Ive had problems with a great deal of noise coming from the unit as well. The unit has now stopped working completely. I called Maytag at 1-800-253-1301, and spoke with customer service. I was informed of a faulty part, in the freezer. I received the part in the mail, and a phone number of their contracted repair company. The repair man charged me $166.00 to install the part, and informed me the digital control board needed to be replaced as well, for an additional $170.00. I called Maytag again...they said nothing could be done about it. Ive had the refrigerator for 3 1/2 years, and had all these problems for over a year. Im not going to invest over $300.00 to repair a faulty product. Maytag should stand behind their products, and at least furnish the parts, or replace the unit, with something that actually works.

I wish that I had looked up reviews before purchasing my washer 6 months ago! No matter which setting I use, the washer never fills up with enough water!! I have pulled clothes out that havent even gotten wet, due to not enough water in machine! All due to the government regulated water levels on the sensors!!!! So, I had my plumber put in hot and cold water faucets, then he put a short Y hose on, so this way I can add water to the machine.... The only thing is, you have to wait for the machine to fill with what it thinks is enough water to get your load clean.... stop the washer, then add the water you need. But if it reaches a certain point, it will automatically start draining. So you have to watch and make sure you stop adding the water, before reaching that point!

I had two Maytag washers in my lifetime: one lasted 15 years and the other 20 years. Neither one had any service calls, just a sudden death. My newest Maytag is 1 year and 2 months old and Ive had two service calls so far due to the sensor unlocking the door. One time there were some socks caught “somewhere” and today the serviceman just reset the machine and it worked. He didnt know why it wouldnt work. It seems to me there needs to be some more detailed trials on these computer-operated machines. If I need another washer, it will most likely not be a Maytag.

First off I dont usually spend my time writing complaints; however, I feel Maytag is deserving of my complaint. Purchased dishwasher Model #mdbh979sab1 in 2013 and days before the 1-year warranty was up the front control panel quit responding, rendering the appliance useless. Got that fixed under warranty. Now about 1 year later guess what... Its got the same problem. Began to read others post on this site and found that this is a common issue. One person posted that her dishwasher began to smoke and nearly caught her home on fire. Maytag was kind enough to offer a paid service call and enrollment into their extended warranty program. I think Ill cut the umbilical cord on this one and go get something more reliable and doesnt pose a potential fire hazard.

My Maytag dishwasher is 1.5 years old and wont start. The Maytag call center said they couldnt help me except to sell me a service warranty for $269. Then she wanted to argue with me when I asked her to pass on my dissatisfaction with their products to her supervisor. I thought Maytag was a good product. For what I pay for parts and labor, I can get a new dishwasher. She said do I expect not to have any problems with that dishwasher. I will never buy anything Maytag again. They do not stand behind their products. Plus, it sounds like many people have had the same problem with their Maytag dishwasher. This part is defective. (I am assuming it is a control panel problem.) Since corporations are people now is there someone I push into my dishwasher so they will fix it. LOL.

We bought a Maytag dishwasher in May of last year. The control panel went out about 3 months after we got it. It just started doing its own thing Like not running the wash cycle or a different cycle than we pushed. We called for a repair and were told by the repair man that the control panel was on the fritz. He ordered a new one and told us it would be a month before he could come back and install it. When the control panel showed up at our house, we installed it ourselves because we did not want to have a faulty dishwasher running in the house.Just yesterday we noticed a huge rusty area on the bottom rack. We called and were hold for 20 minutes if not more, before we were even able to talk to a rep. She then came up with every excuse as to why our rack was rusty (hard water, water changing??). We asked for a new rack but she wanted to send a repair kit. We were on the phone with her for half an hour, if not more, and she just refused to send a new rack. When we finally asked to speak to the manager we were told the wait time was 32 minutes and hung up! Do not buy crappy Maytag appliances with even crappier customer service reps! (see our review about our Maytag fridge!).

I bought my microwave in Nov of 2015. We began having problems in April 2017. When you cook or warm something up it gets hot. The light wont come on and the display continues to say open/close door. After about 4 hours of cool down time it may or may not restart. After contacting Maytag I was told I should have purchased the warranty. They also informed me that they do not have repairman in my area. We have just replaced all appliances with Maytag so now I am concerned they are all junk. We did buy warranties on the major appliances, but how will they repair with no repairman in my area. Maytag used to be the best appliances but after this experience and now I have a broken microwave after only a year and a half that they dont stand behind, I will never purchase any Maytag again. It also seems that this is not the only issue they are having with their microwaves. I have contacted my Lowes where we purchased and they even made a Maytag call with no results. Maybe the suppliers should stop promoting and selling their items. We replaced a 22 yr old Kenmore microwave that was still working thats why this is so heart breaking. Stand behind your products. No wonder you dont have repairman. They would never get a day off from repairing your junk.

Purchased Maytag 3000 series washer and dryer in June 2009. Like many other reviews, the washer is making a terrible loud noise during the spin cycle. I contacted Maytag customer service and was told wait time is 10 minutes and opted for the call back option. Received a call back from an agent located in Tennessee, United States and he checked for recalls or projects and found nothing. Offered a technician call in my area for $112.00 for 30 minutes to diagnose the problem. I told him that if he checked on the reviews, he will see many regarding this problem and a bearing issue at a cost of up to $700.00. The Maytag repairman is not only lonely but out of business and Whirlpool bought them out. I would never again purchase Maytag or Whirlpool products. We are seniors and do not abuse our appliances and why do they not last at least 15 years. Talk about disposal washer machines, who can afford to purchase them every few years. The washer sounds like a jet going through our house when it is in the spin cycle.

The washer and dryer were purchased together as a set 4 years ago in 2010. There have been times where I actually had clothes come from the washer completely and partially dry due to lack of water inside the washer! It fills based on how many clothes are in the washer or capacity that it senses. I have had so many clothes dry washed and torn up due to its use! If you set the washer to the wrinkle control position it does not go through the last rinse and spin cycle, you must reset it to the rinse, drain, spin cycle again in order to finish processing that load.It has already thrown its belt 2 times! Which my husband had to fix since we could not get in touch with anyone at Maytag who knew what we were talking about! If change gets stuck inside the washer bin in the little groove in the tank it is very difficult to get out, Im sure everyone has washed a pair of pants with the change still in the pockets, yes I know this is user error but if you dont know the change is in the little grooves because you cant see them, it stops the washer! So be sure to search this every time you do laundry! The dryer has a mind of its own! Sometimes it will finish drying your clothes, sometimes it wont finish the time set! Theres no reason just doesnt finish! There is so many reasons I will never purchase this brand again. Ive run out of room and patience. My clothes look like Im homeless!

He told me to thaw out and hed be back. It thawed out and then freezer went out. ALL my freaking meats and frozen food had to be thrown out. Now water keeps Flowing out on my NEW tile! Called my repairman back. He came back then informed me it was junk! He said several other customers having same issue. My daughter has the same refrigerator and it broke down just like mine! My repairman also said a big issue with your junk was you used parts from other brands to fix! After reading all these complaints I can see no sense in calling to get it repaired. Its obvious we are all having the same issue. Maybe someone from your ** company could check them out. I dont have the money to buy another fridge! My 85 year old uncle with Alzheimers lives with me and I dont want him to slip on that water and hurt himself! I think all of these complaints need to go to BBB. Thats my next step. I believe you need to recall this junk or give us our money back! I need you to respond or Im going on blast to let everyone know how you treat your customers.

I have a major complaint with the Maytag double oven design. With the smaller oven above, if you spill any liquid while taking something out of the top oven, the liquid drips down between the two panes of glass on the lower oven door. This makes it impossible to clean. Maytags reply - call a service rep and have him make a house call and take the door apart for you and clean it. Not warranty work so I would have to do this every few months. Also, when baking in the upper oven, cakes and cookies tend to overcook on the bottom as the dishes are so close to the element.

Im not sure that the guys who designed this unit ever actually tested it. During the wash cycle, if you have something like a fitted sheet it will actually stuff all of the surrounding wash items into the sheet until it forms one huge, round ball. Then it gets really interesting because the vicious spin cycle sends the machine marching around the laundry room and this happens even if the wash has not balled up. I now try to evenly distribute the wash within the tub prior to starting the wash cycle but it doesnt work. So now I grab a cup of coffee and newspaper and sit with my washer throughout the entire spin cycle to make sure that the hoses dont tear out of the wall.

I called customer service to ask if there was some way that Maytag could assist me with repair of this like new dishwasher. When I said it was out of warranty and I had no additional warranty, I was told that a repairman could come out for $110 and diagnose the problem and that parts and labor would be extra. I explained that I had purchased Maytag because I saw commercials, for years, showing that Maytag repairmen had no work. She was very unhelpful and kept droning the same mantra, that a repairman could come out for the above charge. I was very angry and asked for the name and address of the President of Maytag so I could send a letter of complaint. I composed a letter, however: it is Thanksgiving time and I need my dishwasher so I made an appointment to have it repaired. I was told he would be out Mon. between 8 and 5. I asked for a more specific time and was told that I would get a call on Sat. with the time. Thankfully, no call came, because on Sunday, I read the reviews on this site and realized that Maytag was no longer a reliable nor a responsible company and I decided to save myself money and time and stress and just go out and buy a GE. So we will hand wash the dishes on Thanksgiving and buy a GE on Black Friday. This does not mean that I am letting Maytag off the hook. I intend to send my letter to Jeff Fettig at Maytag and also join in the class action suit. How very sad that the name Maytag has become just a name used to shill for defective and shoddy merchandise.

I had the washer repaired twice in January, once in April and again in August, the same repair wire coming out of harness. I had to pay a second time before Willie, the repairman, finally put a longer wire on the harness. Maytag told me they would send a new repairman after I called to complain. All 4 times, its been the same man and it cost me money. It seems like a bait and switch with the repairman. I called both A& E and Maytag. Both refused to refund the $129 second charge because it was more than 90 days. I say its been the same issue, repairman is a scam when they dont fix it right and charge again. I had another man there who knows about repairs and finally told the repairman to change out the wire or it wouldnt have been done this time either. Thinking that the Neptune fiasco was over, I happily bought into the sick company and got burnt 3 times for all 3 purchases. The Gemini range with dual ovens: the controller clock with all relays and electronic package is dying, leaving me with no ovens, or slow heating and an alarm in the middle of the night. Now, even the burners are not working properly. Junk at any price, and I paid $2,400. Not 5 years old and repaired several times under warranty; all were electrical failures. The fridge is another failure. Apparently the Freon is leaking out. It is unrepairable and it was typical of these from what the service guy said, not 5 years old. It was repaired once, leaking on floor. Apparently, it was a kinked drain hose. The dishwasher was one year old and it caught fire when the dial was turned while the machine was running. The 4th machine, an over the range microwave, is still running… although from day one it sucks so much power on the dedicated line that it dims the lights in the microwave as it starts up and each time, the magnetron energizes. I am just waiting for it to fail too. Can you say never and mean it? There was no goodwill offered. “So sad” and “too bad” is the common line. Nothing will last more than 5 years if you listen to sales people at Maytag - junk. There was no help from the corporate office. Nothing I can do for you. Junk, junk, junk.

Purchased this unit back in November 2011. Sometime this year it started leaking water just like many others from the freezer unit onto the floor (many times large puddles). Im tired of the permanent towel on the floor to absorb the water to prevent a potential slipping hazard. I too went online and found a very nice video on youtube which showed how to disassemble the freezer compartment. Took everything apart and noticed that there was water frozen on the supply line. Melted this and put everything back together, for about a week there was no water leaking so I figured all was well. About a week later the puddle was back so I sent an inquiry to Maytag and let them know I had an image of the issue and asked if it was covered through manufacture warranty. Here is their response: Your email is extremely important to us here at the Customer experience Center and we sincerely apologize for any delays in responding to your email. We are working diligently to respond over the telephone and through email to all of our customers. We are sorry to learn of the problem you are experiencing with water leaking from the bottom of the freezer. You are a valued customer and we do apologize for any inconvenience this concern has caused. We invite you to contact Maytag again either by calling (800) 344-1274 between 8:00am to 8:00pm EST weekdays or by emailing whenever the need arises. When calling please press the available option or stay on the line to reach a representative.Frustrated I went online and found this forum where hundreds of other people had the same issue and that many of them were resolved by the new P Trap. So I watched another video by the same guy on youtube that showed how to replace the P Trap. I went online and found the replacement P Trap Manufacturer model # w10619951. One of the comments there actually said to call Maytag first as they were able to get a replacement P Trap for free. I believe if it was under a year old they would also pay for the labor to have it replaced. So this morning I called Maytag, the first guy Jim said I would have to have a certified Tech come out (76 dollar service fee, plus whatever the labor would cost) and Maytag would cover the cost of the part. I asked Jim if he could just send me the part and Ill do it myself, he reassured me that he could NOT do this and that the system was very specific. I told him I did not understand that a bad design and known quality defect, why should I have to pay several hundred dollars to fix? He told me that was the way it is. I asked to speak to his supervisor and put me on hold. Not only was the hold music extremely obnoxious but there was a loud humming noise as well, I waited for 10 minutes hung up and called back. I spoke with Maggie this time. I told her I wanted the part sent to me and if she couldnt help me I wanted to speak to a manager. She said she did not have the authority to ship me the part without approval. She said she could ask for approval and after waiting for about 3 minutes she came back on the line and said she spoke with her supervisor and that they would be sending me the replacement P trap today via FedEx. Had they not sent me the part my next stop was going to be the better business bureau..

We bought a Maytag Gemini double oven in June 2007. It has been a problem from day one. It arrived with a damaged door. They reordered and replaced it. Through the next few months, I became very discouraged with the oven. I bake a good bit and was always used to an oven with fairly accurate temperature. This oven will not reach or sometimes just wont maintain a steady temperature. After a couple of service calls, I gave up. I now raise the temperature setting about 50-75 degrees higher that the recipe requires. Naturally, I dont always get the best results. However, that isnt the thing that really bothers me. These ovens have three ignitors. About every six months, one breaks. The cost is over $200.00 each time. The ovens/broiler are highly unreliable. After mixing up something or on an important holiday, one may find that the oven wont light. Theres no warning! It is simply gone. I will never again buy a Maytag! I called Maytag and questioned them about the lemon law. I was told that the same piece had to break three times in one year. That is crazy, when the entire thing doesnt and has never worked well.

Im currently standing in front of my washing machine waiting for the 13-minute drain and spin cycle to finish because once again my load didnt drain and finish right. Except it has already been 40 minutes and it claims there is still 9 more left as it continues to sit there doing nothing while it hasnt even started spinning yet. It Sat on 13 minutes while sensing for over 5 minutes, then 12 for 10 minutes while doing nothing, then it changed to 11 minutes and made some weird noises but didnt actually do anything for 15 minutes, and now the timer randomly changed from 11 to 9 without any noises or movement happening and now continues to sit here.I stupidly thought I could spin my clothes real quick to throw them in the dryer before bed and now I stand here extremely tired and very irritated. I also have no doubt some of the clothes will have holes in them when theyre done because they always do, my family looks like were homeless and ratty half the time we get dressed now. Also it never deep cleans thoroughly even on the toughest settings, I swear our socks can be washed 3 times in a row after being soaked all day and still come out crusty or a lot of times the armpits of shirts will still smell or be ultra stained with deodorant marks still. This technology is almost too advanced and everything is decided by sensor, regardless of the registered functions on the buttons it will still do what it wants as the sensors see fit and run when they decide everything is perfect and ready, including taking 10 minutes just to unlock the lid when you pause a load cuase a small child may drown in the foot of water or a person may have their life completely altered by getting a little bit wet if the machine isnt completely drained and in pristine condition before you open the door. This machine is terrible. This company is terrible. And worst of all they drain your wallet for these horrible contraptions. I wish I could rate this 0 stars.

The unit was down approximately 2 weeks waiting for parts and a second service call. Just six months later (approximately 08/05/12), the control panel failed again. Thinking that a trusted American, iconic industry leader such as Maytag would stand behind their product, I called for what I thought would be a covered repair. I explained to a supervisor that their panels have not made it 1 year in service. She assured me there were no out of the ordinary problems with the panels for my model dishwasher in one breath, then stated they were out of parts and on backorder for three weeks. Now the truth comes out, further telling me that the unit is out of warranty and nothing can be done short of sending out a repairman, that I would be responsible for parts and service. After further discussion, she reluctantly agreed to send me the part for free if I arrange the installation and told me that it was very simple to install. When the part finally showed up on my doorstep with no paperwork, it was wrong. When I called and complained for waiting 3 weeks for the wrong part because there was no quality control in their parts and shipping department, all they could do was say sorry. They told me just to keep the part they sent and they would send the correct part. I begged that they ship the correct part overnight and they adamantly stated that was not an option. Maytag stipulates their process only allows ground shipping from FedEx per their contract. Knowing I had no other option, I agreed and waited for 5-day ground. The part showed up 13 days later and delivered by USPS. Apparently, I was lied to again and the left hand has no idea what the right hand is doing. Apparently, Maytag/Whirlpool have an inadequate and poorly trained quality control system in place and their manufacturing and electronic divisions are surly lacking a strong management team needed to go in and clean house. Instead, the whole mess they have contributed to continues to haunt Maytag has continued to be made to believe its okay to produce subpar products while continuing the complete demises of a once trusted American, iconic industry leader all while living on the Lorals of twenty years past.Whirlpool would do itself and this country a huge service by just letting this brand die and thrown on the heaps of scrap steel headed for China where maybe they can copy and fix what they were not capable of.
