Within the first month of purchasing my front loading Maytag Neptune washer
Within the first month of purchasing my front loading Maytag Neptune washer (MAH6700AWW) at Home Depot, the soap dispenser fell off. The machine not only leaked, requiring stack of towels to be placed on the floor to keep the room from flooding, but often produced foul-smelling clothes, despite cleaning the machine. On top of that, the delicate cycle stopped working and then last month, the entire control board went! It is past its warranty period, and I cannot afford a new washer for my family of 6. The machine has been discontinued and the parts unattainable. The control board of our dryer (MDE6700AYW) went too, causing buzzing in the electrical connection and burning, causing us to have to shut down the circuits for the machine. Maytag has lost all my respect as a quality appliance supplier. We spent $1700 on the set and the machines have been a nightmare. Please note: we were NOT notified that there were class action suits against Maytag regarding their machines.

I wish I had found this website before I bought my new Maytag washer and dryer from Home Depot on March 7, 2018. I replaced a 30 year old Maytag washer that I should have kept. I wash two loads a week so has not been used that much and now it will not drain. I tried everything, canceled the cycle out, checked the circuit breaker, unplugged it, removed the clothing, bucketed out the excess water, tried the drain and spin cycle, etc. Just will not drain or spin. Repairman is coming next week... Still under first year warranty but if it is not the “fault” of Maytag I was told there will be a $90+ minimum service charge.

Im another Maytag dishwasher dissatisfied victim. The control panel stopped working within 12 months and replacement stopped working after one year, which they say is not covered under the warranty. They make rubbish which are disposable and have lifetime of one year.I feel we have to stop Maytag misrepresenting their garbage and basically defrauding us by selling substandard items to unsuspecting consumers. If you have been victim of Maytag lets join together. I would like to start a group to take a class action lawsuit against Maytag. I am very angry and feel they have to be stopped. All Maytag says in response is to try to sell me a one-year insurance. With the rubbishy quality of their products, they probably make more money from selling insurance than their substandard equipments.

Dishwasher Model #MDB7609AWW2 - I have replaced the touchpad once a year for 4 years. Went online and learned a DIY repair using a Permatex Rear Window Defogger Repair Kit to fill in the touchpad broken circuits. I have repaired it once a year for 2 years. My suggestion is to avoid purchasing this product. Apparently even after multiple consumers have contacted Maytag regarding this widespread defect, Maytag has not issued a recall or assisted anyone. They say if the part can be replaced there is no issue. When the dishwasher works, it is great, however it WILL NOT last. Touchpad will fail and you will be out $124 for the part plus labor unless you do the repair yourself.

I purchased my Maytag dishwasher thru Costco. I did so because I got a 2 year warranty if I bought thru them. The washer was approximately 6 months old and they replaced the pump. Approximately 3 months later they replaced the heater. Approximately 4 months after that they replaced the entire operating/electronic board located in the door. Approximately 6 weeks before the warranty was up they had to rebuild the middle dish tray. Now that the warranty is expired by 2 months the door is leaking like a sieve. Unlike most families we use our dishwasher at least twice daily. In summation I would not recommend this brand of appliances to anyone. I will not pay to have this one repaired.

My Maytag Front Load Washer Model MHWE200XW purchased from Sears had a malfunctioning spin cycle. The authorized Maytag repairman from Landers, with support from a Maytag technician by phone, did not know how to repair it. The machine had light use over the past 15 months, and hence was not covered under warranty. So I am out $650 for the machine and $200 for the repair that resulted in continued and even worse malfunctioning. Unfortunately for me, the tests did not show any errors and the machine did not state any error. It just would not spin and then would not allow the door to open. It is a lemon and I do not recommend its purchase.

I thought it was just my machine that sounded like an airplane taking off in my laundry room. Upon reading these reviews I see there is a real problem with this machine. My parents and grandparents trusted and swore by Maytag products. Maybe then, but certainly not now. Maytag for me stands for landfill. I have had 2 Maytag certified service companies come to repair my washer that is only 6 years old and its the same part both times which I am told by these service providers has been a problem and Maytag knows about it. But when I call Maytag all I get is some sound bite advising me there has been no recall and since I have an extended warranty I will have to take it up with them since that is who my contract is with. Of course they are only obligated to make a repair and cannot replace a defective unit. Of course not.Far be it for Maytag to step up and really stand behind the promises they are making all over our television channels with the new Maytag man. The top of the washer is also all rusted out around the soap, bleach, and softener openings. It is a poorly made machine with known issues by a manufacturer that I will never buy from again. Its a sad day that manufacturers are not held accountable for inferior products and even sadder that this Maytag manufacturer boasts its made in the USA for this machine. So is it back to China we go??? If you want America back you better support your product to your buyers.

I bought a Maytag Centennial Top Loading washer 2-1/2 years ago. Its worked very well, but has started to roar so loud on high-speed spin that you have to leave that side of the house to be heard. The factory technician determined that it had a bad gearbox and that it wasnt anything I had done that caused it. He told me it was going to cost more for parts & labor than the machine was worth. I called Maytag and was told they wouldnt help me because it was after the one-year warranty. When I asked for a supervisor, he offered to pay for the parts, but not the service. Thats kind of like Chevy offering to pay for the defective engine part, but not the installation. I have never bought a major appliance (or even a hair dryer) where I thought 3 years was a reasonable life expectancy. Lifelong Maytag Customer has left the building.

Customer service is weak in troubleshooting techniques and try to send the file over to a repairman. The repairman will show up at $80/hr + other fees and parts costing you approx $500, and still uncertainty that this fridge can breakdown at any time. Final advice: DONT BUY.

Have a Maytag refrigerator, less than 2 years old. Water is leaking from top of the inside of the refrigerator, presumably related to water dispenser, unrelated to filter, and dispenser still functions. In shock, Ill have to pay an additional $347.00 to Maytag for an additional warranty if I want them to remedy this!!! Model # MFT2672AEM10. Buyer beware! Upset that such a new refrigerator would have problems - more upset that the company is making no efforts to make it right without charging more. The refrigerator was not cheap in first place. Also the time spent to have someone come out... Maytag advertises repairman boredom.... Never had another problem with other appliances unless they were much older!!!

I bought the dishwasher (Model MDB7749AWM) 15 months ago and paid $490.00. I had to put a new console in it ($245.00) on 07/16/2012. So that’s $735.00. Two days ago, the console went out again! I’m not putting $245 more in it! I called Maytag’s office. They more or less told me that was my problem! I am throwing that piece of junk away! And I’m buying a different brand. We just had the same problem as most of you have posted. The control panel malfunction. Model MDB7749SBM. Our issue started after only 18 months when the dishwasher would start on its own and/or cancel a wash on its own. I think this is a major issue if a home appliance can start on its own from the off position and run through multiple cycles. I think this could be dangerous if you are out of town. Our cost to replace the panel was more than 1/2 of the original purchase price. This is a major defect and should be handled by Maytag if they are a company with any integrity.

Upon remodeling our kitchen about 4 years ago, we decided to put in Maytag appliances, one of which was the dishwasher . On Nov.29th, our granddaughters were playing with our dog when they ran through the kitchen and the dog started to yelp and went down and started to bleed. As she went past the washer her leg was sliced open by the bottom of the washer door. As it turns out, the bottom of the Maytag dishwasher doors has a sharp cut edge with no covers at all along the entire bottom of the door. We have also read about two children who have had the same thing happen to them. This is a very serious problem that needs to be addressed as soon as possible. The first surgery as of now has been $3,600.00 because of cut tendons. It would be totally irresponsible not to warn all consumers of this extremely serious hazard considering most families let their small children play in the kitchen

I bought a Maytag washer about 4 months ago and the dryer the washing machine has went down a couple of times but I managed to get it to start again. This time it will not start back up. It just as a little water and stuff and will not lock and wash. It never gets the clothes clean and you have to wash them twice or at least a residue on the clothing. I hate this washer and Im very saddened that Maytag will not come out - told me that they had to find someone. There was no one in the area that could fix my washer. It has been nearly a week now and no response from them. Im going to have to buy another washer. I am so upset to spend nearly 800 some dollars on a brand new washing machine and it does not work. I think that was all the complaints that I have seen on this page so somebody needs to put them on the news and also someone needs to start a lawsuit against this company. Shame on you Maytag. Very unhappy with your product and you.

Updated on 02/13/2021: Maytag stove purchased 15 years ago for about $500. Replaced mother board about 5 years ago which wasnt cheap, but otherwise, stove has performed with no problems and still looks and behaves like a new stove.Original review: Our 6-7 year old well cared for Maytag range oven recently stopped working. After a service call for diagnostics, it was determined the electronic module controlling the clock and all oven functions was dead. We were told by the Maytag service tech the module cost was 300$. That cost plus labor for less than an hour, plus the 60$ diagnostic visit came to almost 500$ which is close to cost of a new stove. The technician answered yes to my question, Do you replace a lot of these? He also said the cause may be power fluctuations making me think that surely there is a way to prevent this kind of failure. So, since the price seemed exorbitant, I wrote Maytag to inquire about causation/prevention, etc. I received a fairly prompt and polite reply with totally no explanation. I wrote another email with relatively the same results. I dont recommend buying an electronically controlled Maytag stove.

I bought a Maytag range (MET-8775) last year, because my wife loves to bake and wanted the double oven. The oven never did brown properly, despite trying different temperatures and cookware. So, I called the 1-800 number in the manual. I was told they would have a technician come out and check it, and they assured me it was under warranty. The technician arrived, and since it was close to the end of the warranty period, I showed him the receipt for purchase. I got another assurance that this visit was covered by the warranty, before anything was actually done. Well, he checked it out and eventually calibrated the temperature. That helped a little, but still, it doesnt brown very well. About a month later, I got an invoice from the service company that dispatched the tech telling me Maytag will not cover the visit under warranty. After a long call with Maytag (now Whirlpool, I believe), I was told that since the calibration instructions were in the manual, it wasnt covered! Well, why wasnt the thing calibrated to begin with? And your average customer is expected to have an accurate thermometer/gauge to set it and know whether the temp is off or not? Why was I told twice that it would be covered? If either the lady on the 1-800 line or the tech who came had told me this wasnt covered, I would have argued a case right then. As it turned out, I had no choice but to get billed for something I was assured was covered. And as I said, it still doesnt brown right; and we had tried different temperatures before. We are preparing a major kitchen remodel, and its hard to believe that Maytag/Whirlpool would so thoroughly piss off a customer and potential future customer over an $80.00 service call.

We bought our Maytag Neptune washer in 2005. We chose Maytag because of their reputation, their headquarters in Michigan, and because looking at the machines in the store, they seemed to be well built. Were we ever wrong! You would think paying $1000 for a machine would get you a product that lasts longer than 8 years! Our other washer (a Whirlpool) lasted 20 years and was still working. Im now consistently getting a 3e error code. In searching online, I found that this is a pretty universal problem and thought maybe Maytag had a recall on it. What a waste of valuable time. I did find out the machine was actually a Samsung. This seems like fraud. If I wanted a Samsung, thats what I would have purchased! Contacting Maytag Customer Service was like Land of the Stupid. After getting the runaround and being sent to a phone number and website that only covered Samsung I called Maytag again. I was put in contact with another person who could supposedly help me with the recall. Even though I told him what the problem was, he gave me the robot response about sending the GFCI plugin and told me, That should make your washer safe to operate. Seriously??? I replied, This wont fix the problem because THE WASHER DOESNT WORK and we got the recall part long ago. He then wanted to schedule a repair appointment. Not doing that, considering how stupid the Maytag reps I had talked to so far had been. Putting the hubby on the case, luckily hes pretty handy. On the upside, it was fun responding to the Maytag customer service survey that night, LOL. All of our other appliances are Maytag and they have all been great, but this washer is an unreliable piece of junk.

I bought this product with confidence that it was a quality product. To say the least, I am very disappointed and I will never buy this brand again. My previous microwave lasted over 15 years without a single problem. The only reason that I got rid of it was to have matching appliances. It was not a Maytag. This Maytag bravo washing machine is the worst ever machine I have owned. I bought it new, and shortly after the 1 year warranty expired, I started having problems with it. I had a repairman come out. All he did was take out the trouble shooting guide, press a code, and wait. The machine told him that each function worked. Even though it did not work properly. He hid the trouble shooting guide inside the machine, so I cannot get to it. Now I have so many problems with this machine, that it takes me all day to do 1 load. Maytag Bravos MCT washer not good - Owned this since June 2017. This thing has never worked properly. Every time after a cycle is complete we have to wring the soaked clothes by hand. Even after doing this the drying time ends up being double what it should be because the clothes are so wet. Not only time wasted on hand wringing clothes but also wasted energy in drying them afterwards. Also this thing is supposed to auto-detect how much water it should use but half of the time it uses too little water and doesn’t actually wash all of the clothes. Like all of the other reviews, I have had this microwave less than two years and it won’t run and reads “door open”. I am filing with the Better Business Bureau as the product advertises “partS” under 10 year under warranty when in reality it is one part with a VERY limited warranty. In order to determine if my issue was covered under warranty I would need to pay $189 not including parts in labor. I called several times and customer service indicated that they had never heard of this issue (which upon looking at this site seems hard to believe) and I would need to gamble the $189 to see if it was covered. Terrible product, terrible customer service.

Purchased a Maytag dishwasher from Best Buy. We did not buy the extended warranty from BB because there is a warranty with Maytag. After 4 months of use the washer stopped working. We were unable to return it to Best Buy because we exceeded the 2 week return policy and needed to rely on Maytags 1 year warranty. It took over 2 weeks to schedule a repair and he was unable to fix it, it needed an entirely new Control Board and UI panel. 3 weeks later he returned with the new parts. It worked for 10 days with the NEW Board and panel, it has now stopped working again. We are not able to replace it due to the California Lemon Law which allows a company 3 opportunities to fix it before replacing. Next time I will purchase the Best Buy warranty so I can replace this Maytag LEMON.

Refrigerator (Model Mff2558vems) purchased end of November 2011. Early in 2013 notice refrigerator first forming ice all over freezer, including an ice sheet on bottom of freezer. Then noticed water around refrigerator. Called maytag and they sent repairman even though a little over year and out of warranty. Their service people seemed to know exactly what was causing the leak as they came in with the correct replacement part. Worked fine however, there was damage to my newly refinished hardwood floors which Maytag did pay to repair. A couple of days ago I opened the freezer and again noticed ice all over freezer. The next day, water all around freezer. I cleaned everything up, so I thought. The day after, we noticed the hardwood in kitchen buckling up far from refrigerator and the laminate in dining room bubbling, even though there was no visible sign of water. Called Maytag repair company but they couldnt come out for a couple of days. Called another local repair service familiar with Maytag refrigerators and he couldnt find anything wrong with refrigerator even though he knows leaking caused by refrigerator. Called insurance co. and they sent over service master. Leak is definitely coming from refrigerator. They had to pull up hardwood floor, part of walls, the dining room. They now have five large fans going and a defroster to dry things up. This is upsetting, as my daughters wedding is next month, my husband is currently laid off and I dont need this kind of aggravation again. I love the french door idea, so roomy for my large family, but I am now afraid of this refrigerator. I dont want it but think it is ridiculous I have to shell out more money when the refrigerator is less than 3 years old. I talked with a higher level supervisor at Maytag and they are only willing to give a 100.00 rebate towards a new refrigerator since the refrigerator is out of warranty. This is ridiculous. I thought by buying American I was helping our economy but what I got in return is heartache and crappy merchandise. If there is a lawsuit in California against Maytag about these refrigerators I want to join. My friend in N. CA who bought her Maytag refrigerator the same time I did is also experiencing leaking. So frustrating.

In July 2006, we purchased a Neptune Washer. The only problem we had with it is it does NOT spin the water out of the clothes after the wash cycle. This has been going on for about 4 years. In February 2012, we had a service person to examine the washer. According to the service person, there is nothing wrong with the washer. He said to put in clothing of the same type: All towels, all jeans, all pillowcases, etc. This is not the real world. This cost me a service call with no solution. On June 10, I called Maytag on my issues. They have no recalls or issues with this washer. They recommended another service call which I refused. I even offered the washer free of charge to the person I was talking to, but did not get a response. Never again will I purchase a product from this company.

As I have never before had any sort of reason to complain about any major appliance purchase (nor about any car or house purchase), I’m not yet sure of what avenues are available to me. It seems prudent to inquire of your office before getting a private attorney to help me with this. The following is my situation:First of all, I am asking for a replacement washing machine. I am clearly saddled with a lemon. On or around December 2010, we purchased the Maytag Series 2000 washing machine from Cedar Appliance of Medford, MA. Within the first several months, the washer started ripping, shredding, and putting holes in our clothes. This did not happen during every wash cycle, just sometimes. At the time, we didn’t know if it was the washer or the (also new) Maytag dryer that was causing it. After living with this for some time, we decided to call Cedar Appliance for service. Cedar came out several times to look at the machines and they couldn’t tell what machine was causing the holes. Eventually, I started examining every article coming out of the washer to determine which machine was causing the problem. Over time and many visits later, Cedar Appliance referred us to L.A.R. Service of Wakefield MA, which they called Maytag service.L.A.R. Service came out and looked at it. They said that we were missing a part. They ordered the part and installed it and said everything should be fine. They also sold us an extended service contract. I am still having the exact same problem with the machine. Today I called L.A.R. and they told me that I had to call Cedar to get an authorization for service. I called Cedar and they told me to call Maytag. I called Maytag and after spending an inordinate amount of time recalling the details, the service representative told me that I could pay up front for an extended warranty and they would send someone out. I asked for a supervisor. I got Kitty. Kitty told me that Maytag would not replace my machine, which is clearly a lemon because I hadn’t yet had enough service done on it. I explained that I have spent hours calling for service, scheduling service, waiting for service, supervising service, and paying for service. She explained that on only one service call did they install new parts, so I needed more service. So, I should have demanded new parts on each of these service calls so that I would have earned some credibility for my lemon machine? The fact is that my family and I have lost hundreds of dollars on torn and ruined clothing caused by a new washing machine! After the boot was installed, or replaced (I’m not sure exactly what was done), we are experiencing the exact same problem. When the L.A.R. Service people left last time, they told me the problem was solved. It wasn’t. This is not normal. This is a lemon machine. Its one thing to have clothes destroyed, but what is extra frustrating is that I never know when the machine is going to destroy an article of clothing. This past Friday, we were preparing to go out of town for our daughter’s basketball tournament. I took the clothes out of the washer on Friday evening to discover that one of the blue uniforms was destroyed. There was no time to replace the uniform and my daughter was out of luck. This means that I cannot put an article of clothing into the washer that I absolutely have to have. I can’t live this way. This is a relatively new washer that should last 20 years. Right now, I can’t wash any important article of clothing. I’ve been told before that it was all set. Kitty has L.A.R. coming again this Wednesday to repair the machine. What am I supposed to do when it’s repaired? Put a uniform jersey in it? This is a very brief description of the experience I have had over the past 1.5 years with this new machine. The hours, money, disappointment, and utter frustration is more than I can describe in an email. I have attached three photos of recently destroyed items. Unfortunately, I threw away tens of items several months ago when L.A.R. fixed it.Is this unbelievable? Or are my expectations too high? Is this really what Maytag/Whirlpool has in mind for customer service? Is this really what they mean by standing behind their products? Why wouldn’t or why shouldn’t Maytag replace this machine? How much more time, money, and tears is a customer expected to spend and endure? How do I regain peace of mind and quality of running a household? Am I supposed to toss this machine and buy a new one? Believe me, that’s what I will have to do if I can’t get relief on this problem. There is no way that I can go many more months with this headache. In many ways, buying a brand new machine would be worth the peace of mind, but I am trying to make sure that my family, as consumers, are treated properly. It is also the principle of the thing. Please advise on any remedies available to me here in Massachusetts and please let me know what additional details should be provided and to whom.As an aside, Maytag/Whirlpool does not seem to be doing well with their reputation on the internet regarding customer service.

Purchased this Calypso machine as a second machine for my ranch to handle really dirty clothes. Purchased from Sears Outlet as a refurb machine would be fine for the purpose. Machine was alleged to work by Sears. Paid several hundred for the machine, brought it home, and voila it does not work. New hoses, ran all the checks, and will not fill. Called Sears and, despite the statements of the manager, was told that I have to have a 3 day old machine repaired and not replaced. This POS did not even work out of the box. Years ago I had a Calypso which is now a flower pot. Junk, Junk, Junk. NEVER buy anything from Maytag or Whirlpool.

We bought a new Whirlpool dishwasher, and it was a nightmare. So after four years of that we tried their sister company Maytags dishwasher. I have to say that I think these two old American brands have been ruined. This Maytag dishwasher is always making my dishes smell like rotten fish or a dead animal. I have to dump bleach and or vinegar down in the bottom constantly to keep the stink down. And I have looked and there is no food laying in the grinder. Then we started to lose wash cycles, and the buttons (not real buttons but a cheapo control panel) started to malfunction after 2 years. Now, 3 years into it the plastic adjusters in the top rack are broken, control panel has gone totally haywire, and still smells terrible. I remember when American appliances were sturdy and reliable because they were designed by engineers. Now they must be designed by accountants and shareholders. Goodbye Maytag and Whirlpool.

We bought a new commercial Maytag washer. It’s deep, it has the agitator, suppose to be the top of the line. I can do sheets and the top ones are dry when done. It doesnt get clothes clean especially if they are really dirty. So I add water to this wonderful machine——anyone wanting pictures of finished clothing I would be glad to send to you. Dirty jeans come out dirty jeans. If I forget and don’t add water it’s worse. So I watched it. It fills up to maybe halfway on clothes and this is on heavy soil and deep fill. I complained about it at the store and was told “he had one and it did fine” and you can’t get any that do any better.

Maytag Quiet Series 400. Only good thing is the 3 spray arms. The racks are arranged in the worst configuration so you cannot fit many dishes in. The controls are extremely confusing. They do not seem to work in a logical way. The manual is of little help in figuring out how to operate the machine. I dont use the drying feature, so the only options on the panel that work together are Normal and Hi Temp Wash. Ive never had a dishwasher that took 2 hours to wash, but the settings dont allow for a smaller load or shorter time. The rinse agent receptacle is confusing and difficult to understand and use. Way too complicated compared to earlier dishwashers that Ive used. Would not buy this one again.

In July 2012 I purchased a Maytag BTM standard door refrigerator from Home Depot. Approx. 2 weeks from the 1 yr. Standard warranty July 2013, my refrigerator started cycling like every 20 minutes and loud popping noises started occurring. 1st service tech would only stay 15 minutes & did not want to stick around to hear the noise. Ran the standard tests and said everything was fine. That was around Aug. 2013. So I put up with it for a few more months and finally the popping noise was getting louder. 2nd service guy (Jan. 24, 2014) got to hear my video recording of the refrigerator cycling and loud popping noise. He replaced a bad dul part (Note: they all wanted to blame it on our ice maker that we never ever hooked up). Oops...wrong diagnosis. Whatever he replaced stopped the constant cycling pattern but now the popping noise is getting even louder like a shotgun going off. 3rd repair guy (Feb. 20, 2014) tells us that is normal and recycle product material is not that good nowadays?? I pay a $1000.00 for a noisy refrigerator and they say it is a normal sound. I dont think so. The refrigerator is now popping so hard that the right side of my refrigerator that faces the open is now buckling due to the compression of the heating and cooling which is causing the loud popping noise. If you rub your hand down the side of refrigerator you can feel the waves forming on the side of the refrigerator. Trying to get a Maytag rep out here. Something needs to be done about the production of these bad appliances.

Dishwasher is around two-three years old and it will not start or drain. From what I can tell on the internet, this touch-pad control panel has been an ongoing problem for Maytag. Will try to fix myself, and if I cant fix it, I will buy a new dishwasher but not a Maytag. By the way, my washer and dryer both went out this year - five years old and both are Maytags. Repairs are very costly when you have to pay technicians. Dont like poor quality construction or enamel chipping when you place items on them. Very easy to clean both of them. Practically no lint dust emitted into the room from the dryer. Had no problems with my previous washer & dryer. Thats why I purchased a full size Maytag washer and dryer again.

I purchased my Maytag Bravos from Lowes in early 2014. A few weeks after the motherboard fried and Lowes replaced it with a new one. Within my 1 year warranty the new machine had another fried motherboard. Maytag replaced it for free. Now less than a year later the motherboard is fried again. Needless to say I just purchased another washing machine. Definitely not a Maytag. Now I just have to deal with a dysfunctional piece a junk for a few days until I get my new one. After reading all the complaints on here and other sites, Im very disappointed with Maytag. These machines are obviously lemons and any good company should recall them. Mine will be going straight to the junkyard. I have no interest in having a washer that breaks down every 10 months. Definitely the last thing I will ever purchase from Maytag.

Bought this machine with the intention of having at LEAST 10 problem free years with it. Its a Maytag after all. Not an unreasonable expectation. Within the first 2 years, the machine sounded like the bearings were going out (heavy, grinding noises when it shifted gears). Repairman came, replaced the entire drum (only way to get to the gears, I guess). Didnt fix a thing. Then the rinse and spin cycle on ANY wash cycle randomly quits. Just stops. Full load of wet, soapy clothes, sitting in the tub while an LD error code quietly flashes. Its not uncommon for it to take two full days of screwing around with this machine to get one load of clothes done. Have to UNPLUG the machine, let it sit for about an hour, and try again. It is the biggest waste of money ever and I will NEVER buy another Maytag nothing. Contacted Maytag and they recommended I call a repairman...REALLY? REALLY? Gee, I wish I had thought of that. Repair guy has been to my house so damn many times for this machine, we are now friends on Facebook. Dont waste your money on this machine.

I purchased a new Maytag dishwasher model MDB7609AWB1 approximately 2yrs ago from Sears. We purchased quite a few new appliances from them and they are always helpful. Within the first year, right after the warranty was up, it stopped working. No lights on the power panel. I called Sears, out of warranty, sorry. Said they would give me a deal on the repair. Sears came out, replaced the computer. $230.00. 6 months later, it stops working again. I go on line to look up these models and sure enough a lot of people are having the same issues. I did some of the checks that they said to do and found my plastic door latch was broken. A little plastic arm that actuates the switches broke. Should have been made of metal. I replace it myself, very easy, by the way. So I figure, in another 8 months it will prob break again. They run anywhere from $19.00-$30.00. 2 days ago power panel and light, not working again. I called Sears and asked them if they were having issues with the power panels that this was the second time in less than 2 years, and if there were any recalls, they said no. I guess they dont follow their reviews, but according to google reviews, its a major problem with most of them. Maytag, Whirlpool, and Amanda. Ordered a new panel today, again they are $141 from Sears but if you shop, you can get a new one for less than $85.00. If you have any kind of mechanical skills, you can replace it in less than 20 mins. It just seems to me that this big companies have let their quality control go and are more concerned about the profit. There should be a recall on these. Do Not buy a Maytag/Whirlpool dishwasher, they are total junk. Sorry Maytag, you lost another customer.

I purchased a Maytag Bravos XL Commercial Technology top loading washer, model # MVWB850YWO, in May 2012 and it was delivered in August 2012 due to a home purchase not being consummated. Anyway, I bought this washer and the matching dryer at Lowes and purchased a 4 year extended warranty with Lowes. This would cover me with a warranty through August 2017. I had some problems with the washer while under warranty and had it repaired at least twice. I have had, and still do, have a water leakage in the washer. The water when dispensing into the detergent compartment splashes over and you would think it would just go into the tub. Someway the water leaks down the inside of the washer and runs out onto the floor also causing rust to the inside of the front panel. The resolution was to turn the water pressure down on the supply lines. When this was done, the washer would quit running due to not enough water being dispersed into the drum. A replacement seal was installed and I still have the same problem. The repairmans final resolution was to put tape over half of the detergent dispenser to hold the water in the detergent dispenser and still allow me to put detergent in the dispenser. So, a towel is in front of the washer to soak up any leakage. Now, just 5 months after the extended warranty expired, the bearings under the wash tub are starting to roar during the spin cycle. I contacted Lowes service again and basically I am out of luck. The repair cost is expensive, the part and requires 2-3 hours of labor. I decided to chuck this washer and buy a new one. My wife found one that has an agitator, unfortunately another Maytag, and wants it as she has said the Bravos washer never seemed to get the clothes clean (due to not having an agitator). When checking online for references on a new washer and any recalls on my current washer, I discovered other Bravos XL owners having the same problem with the bearings in the tub. I contacted a local business to try and sell it to him for cheap and when I told him what was wrong with my washer his reply was, I have one just like it out back with the same problem. Dont need two problems. Cant even get rid of a Maytag washer due to it being junk. Many other reviews have listed problems with Maytag products especially since Whirlpool bought them. The Maytags of today are not your parents Maytag. Used to be the Maytag repairman sat around his office waiting for repair calls. This has changed considerably since Maytag sold out to Whirlpool. After doing some research, it seems Whirlpool has bought just about every company selling washers and dryers and are making them as a disposable item. I would advise not purchasing any product that is under the Whirlpool corporate umbrella as I feel whatever they buy, even a superior product like Maytag, they cheapen the product and try to benefit from the name, as in the case with Maytag. So, no more Maytag or Whirlpool products for me until they have proven they can build a quality product once again. Hello GE!!!!

Absolutely the worst experience ever. The repair people that were sent to address the problem were great but the Maytag people did not care. I bought a new electric convection oven, the convection never worked. The repair people came out several times and checked and adjusted to try to fix the issues but the oven is totally inconsistent. Even the repair people thought I should have gotten a better response from Maytag! Maytag just said that I had a repair but not replace warranty - of course the warranty period is over now. We bought a Bravos model in May 2010. Two years later, the machine started making noise during the final spin cycle. We finally called a repairman who came today and informed us it was a bearing in the outer drum. The cost for the part (the drum assembly) was $290, not to mention the cost for labor. Since we only got the original warranty, the service center at Maytag refused to help with the repair. We, as others who have had problems with Maytag, bought the washer because of Maytags reputation. This is why we have to buy extended service warranties. Companies make trash! We just replaced our 20-year-old washer and dryer for a new Maytag Bravos set. The Home Depot staff convinced us that top loading units were of good quality and reliable. We were fairly satisfied with our expensive purchase when our washer stopped spinning. We are just past our 1-year warranty of course so we called the service department. A young man in a beat-up pickup truck showed up and spent his time reading the manual that was hidden under the washer. His best guess was a $300 part plus a $100 fee for him to show up. So to repair a less than 2-year-old machine is $400. Im tempted to buy a different washer. It wont be a Maytag, unless you can convince me otherwise. I give you credit for great advertising! I purchased a Maytag refrigerator, stove, dishwasher and microwave in 2006. Like another commenter, I also insisted on all Maytag appliances. What a huge disappointment. About four months into owning the microwave, a computer module had to be replaced. The microwave stopped working about six weeks out of warranty. It just stopped working, period. I was told by Maytag that they consider microwave a disposable product and they would not cover the repairs. It was cheaper to buy a new one than repair the old one so I replaced it with another brand. The dishwasher failed after 4.5 years (would not drain) and again it was cheaper to replace it than fix it. The oven range handle broke off (normal use) in August 2011 and that cost me approximately $200 for the part and the service call. The refrigerator has had two service calls for the ice maker to replace the motor. The first was covered by Maytag, the second by me. This occurred when the unit was approximately three years old. In August 2011, I had another $90 repair because the ice maker drain (?) was plugged and had to be cleared fixed. I have never been able to pay what I paid for these appliances. Prior to this, we always purchased a middle-range appliance and we never had problems like this.I will never purchase another Maytag product again. This is so disappointing. I live in MI and I wanted to support a MI business. Unfortunately, I wont be able to help out this particular company any longer. Dont buy Maytag appliances. It is a waste of money.

Since there is no agitator the clothes just sit at the bottom and move back and forth as one big clump, with just a few inches of water. I am sorry Ive waited so long since I am now past the point of returning this piece of junk.

I purchased a Maytag quiet series dishwasher (Model Number: MDB6759AWW) for $500.00 in May 2009. Three months later, I started experiencing difficulty with the control panel. One light would continue to blink and it would not do anything else. I called to have it repaired but by the time he was to come out, it started working again only to stop working again the next week. On 7 Oct 09, the repairman came out and replaced the panel. Then, about six months later, it stopped working again. I called again but canceled the appointment because it started working again. Then, after having it for one year, it stopped working again and I called only to be told that it was no longer under warranty. Now, we cant get the control panel to do anything. From all the other similar complaints I have read, it seems like there is a defect with the control panel. A dishwasher should last for more than one to two years. This is very frustrating.

We had a wonderful Bisque Maytag double oven in 2002. We bought new stainless appliances this year, and have been very disappointed with the range. Why do you have to hold the temp and timer settings one increment at a time to set it, and why do you have to push Start after that? Frequently we set the temp or timer and walk away, only to find that the oven or timer did not begin because we forgot the new step. When the timer goes off, you have to push it twice to get it to reset. The burners themselves have too many confusing pictures for the settings. What happened to low heat, medium and high and hash marks in between? The stove top itself is a nightmare to keep clean. Give me back my coil stove any day!!!

I purchased high end Maytag washer, dryer, dishwasher and microwave in May
I purchased high end Maytag washer, dryer, dishwasher and microwave in May 2010. On Saturday 4/25/14, the Maytag Microwave stopped heating. The fan runs, the panel, display, lights, clock, and tray all work. It just doesnt cook. The Microwave was installed in June of 2010. Not even 4 years old. I have tried to troubleshoot via the instructions that came with the microwave, i.e. Check the demo mode is not on. Dont know why after 3 yrs it would be, but checked it. No help. Pulled the plug out and replaced; turned breaker on and off; checked to see if its was locked. Nothing. I then checked the door and I found that the plastic inside panel on the latching side of the door is pulling away from the door itself, which is part of the locking system. The magnetron shouldnt work if the door system isnt closing properly. The latch system is what is causing the door to pull apart. I am wondering now how much microwave exposure my family has been getting from a malfunctioning door? I have had a Microwave, dishwasher and refrigerator made by Maytag in the past. The refrigerator is 14 yrs old and still works fine. The microwave and dishwasher were at least 10 yrs old when I replaced them with the new Maytags I have now. Here is the problem. Maytag is not Maytag Corp. anymore. Whirlpool Corp now owns the Maytag brand. Prior to the old Maytags I had, I had GE fridge which was junk, and Whirlpool, dishwasher, stove and microwave. They were also junk. I swore I would never buy Whirlpool products again. Surprise.

Like so many other people reviewing Maytag refrigerators with bottom freezers, I am dealing with water on the floor. At 64+, I am not eager to tackle the problem as a DIY project. Once of defrosting and cleaning up was enough. I love the looks of my 2 yr old $2000 4 door fridge/freezer but hate the issues. I guess Maytag is going to ignore all of us. When someone finds a reliable company, sing it from the rooftops.

I purchased a MTW6600TB0 Washer and Dryer on 6/17/07. I have had issues with the washer from the beginning; smell in towels and mechanical problems as well. The machine does not fill properly and receive error codes that are electrical issues per A & E service. I get LF errors occasionally and randomly on different cycles. I finally called for service because I now am receiving F51 Error, which has to do with the basket per A & E service technician. I was told on Black Friday that my machine required both baskets and the rotary motor. My machine is just 4/5 years old. No unusual wear and tear. There are only three people in my family and we live in a fairly warm climate so no heavy winter clothing, etc. I was told that my stainless steel basket was rusting to my plastic basket. I am still trying to comprehend the fact that two materials that are not supposed to rust are rusting. After looking for a new washer over Thanksgiving weekend, I find out that Maytag warranties their stainless steel basket and rotary motors for 10 years. So do they warranty the things they say the warranty or not? Of course, it is a holiday weekend and I cannot get a hold of Maytag. I paid for a service call and the technician told me I would be responsible for the repairs at about $500 for parts plus labor. I looked up the parts he recommended replacing and it was over $800. I paid $1000 for this machine less than 5 years ago. Thats $200 a year for the privilege to use a Maytag. Additionally, my set is black. I can not find a black washer anywhere.

Maytag washer, top loader, Bravo series: We purchased Maytag washer and dry
Maytag washer, top loader, Bravo series: We purchased Maytag washer and dryer 4 years ago. Last week, the washer started sounding like a 747 was landing in our laundry room. Maytag sent a service representative and informed us that the bearings were faulty and it would cost at least $800 to fix. It is appalling that a 4 year old appliance should fail like this. We will buy a different make and we will never buy any Maytag appliance again. This is such poor quality and worse service. Maytag would only offer a 30-40% off a washer, but only if we bought it directly from them. We can get a better offer from any local store. They also said we could get a discount on the part we need, but not the service. Do not, I repeat, do not buy Maytag anything. You will regret the purchase.

I purchased 4 new Maytag appliances as part of a kitchen update. The dishwasher was the first to fail, less than a year after being installed. The control panel stopped working (random lights would come on, always different from the one being pressed, and frequently incompatible selections such as Rinse Only and Sanitize. PC Richards sent a repairman with a new part, no charge. A few weeks ago, it happened again. PC Richards says that replacement parts are only under warranty for 90 days, so now the repair is on me. I could pay or repair it myself or pay PC Richards to do it. Thank goodness I am handy, but I still have to pay for the part. Now I am reading that the MDB7749 series has a history of this problem. When is Maytag going to own up and issue free repairs? I certainly will never buy Maytag again, as both the range and the refrigerator also have common problems. Luckily, I paid for the 10-year service agreement on those appliances.

I purchased a Maytag Electric Range (Model: MER7662WS1) at Lowes in February 2011. After few months, we found many rusty areas on the stainless oven door and on the stainless drawer. On 9/8, I called Maytag at 1-800-688-9900 to complain that stainless steel is not supposed to rust. A representative took the initiative to schedule A&E Factory Service to come to my house for a warranty repair, and assigned me an order # 40629499. I did not request for this service call and naturally, I regard this as a warranty service or a service of quality check of a product. On 9/19, a technician came to check the rusty area and confirmed that the stainless steel have rusted and the rust will eat through the panel. The technician called Maytag, and got the answer that Maytag will not pay for his visit because its not under warranty. The technician then checked the warranty manual, but could find not any statement that neither rust is cosmetic nor rust is not covered. The technician asked me to pay $132 for his five-minute checking service. I was so upset and called Denice at A&E Factory Service at 1-800-905-9505 to bill Maytag directly. She ignored my request and said that I should take it to Maytag. After a couple of hours waiting, holding and transferring, I explained to two Maytag customer service representatives my problem, only to get a Sorry, its not covered, its cosmetic, reply. I insisted talking to a manager and finally got Melinda at Care Solution Team. She, too, refused to waive the charge for me and claimed herself as a supervisor and decision maker and theres no one above her who could resolve this issue.I emphasized that A&E service call was authorized by Maytag, I did not order the service. Who would have thought that a service authorized by manufacturer is not covered under warranty? Besides, this representative failed to inform me that rust would not be covered, she should have known better. Therefore, I believe that the person who initiated the service call to A&E should be held accountable. But Melinda never wanted to agree with this logic and kept saying, We dont force customer to have home service. You are liable for the bill. She refused to pay for the service and forced me to pay the bill from the mistake they made. She even refused to give out the persons ID # and name of the person who called A&E. She only documented my complaint--whats the point of their documentation? If this is the tactic that Maytag is using to categorize rust as cosmetic (if rust can damage material, then you should not call it cosmetic), and ban customers from claiming the rust damage so they can use poor quality of stainless steel on their appliances to save the cost, then, it is dishonest to advertise that this oven is stainless.A representative even said that Maytag should have emailed me with the confirmation of service call and noted that its a non-warranty service. Also, A&E should have informed me before arrival that the service is not covered. All these were not true. First, I did not receive such email from Maytag or Whirlpool. If Maytag would have warned me with non-covered policy such as this, they should have the courtesy to call me in case the email was unreliably routed to spam box. A&E only informed me that they are coming the next day, but no such thing as telling me that the service will not be covered. Even their technician did not know about the non-covered issue, and had to call Maytag today to find out.Had the person who scheduled the service told me that the rust on the stainless panels is not covered under warranty, will I still allow the service call and agree to pay $132 for a five-minute checkup and watch the technician leave without performing any repair? I asked Melinda to let me talk to her supervisor but she said that theres no one who can talk to me, and the only way to appeal is to write to the companys executives. The address is: Whirlpool Corporate Office553 Benson Rd Benton Harbor, Michigan 49022. I doubt that an appeal will help me at all. I will take this matter to small claim court, I wont let them force me to pay the bill when I am not at fault.

I purchased a Maytag Bravos washer and dryer combo 2.5 years ago. Six months in, I noticed that the washer would always stop halfway through the cycle. We had a repairman come out because it was under warranty and he said it just had to be reset. I then started to become weary of the product. The washer, that is larger than most, is still a problem today. The dryer, the last couple of months, has not dried clothes completely. Today the dryer just stopped. Maytag will rip you off when called for service because the warranty is expired. I have owned old dryers for several years and I am so disappointed with the Maytag product that I will make sure that anyone I know thinking about purchasing a Maytag will buy another brand. The worst washer and dryer I have ever owned.

She did say mix the towels with other clothes to prevent the problem. When I got this machine we had about two dozen good quality towels. Now I am down to maybe a half dozen. I bought a Maytag Bravos XL washer in 2017 for around $800 which suddenly stopped working about 1.5 weeks ago. The console wont turn on. I filed a service request on Maytags website which results in Maytag subcontracting the job to a local appliance servicing company. About 10 days later the appliance tech shows up to my house. I had to pay $125 to the service company for the technician just to show up. After, he tinkers with the machine and 5 minutes later gives me a quote totaling $789.07. Of that amount the parts component was $482.09. He told me that the computer was bad. I was appalled. This was a 2.5 year old well kept washer. I called Maytag company next day to see if they could at least cover the parts cost. Especially as I have a large family with 3 kids plus elderly family members. After waiting 33 minutes on the phone, the CSR took all the appliance info and tried to see if she could get Maytag to cover the parts cost, given my situation. After about 5 minutes, she told me that Maytag declined my request- quoting that my appliance did not have any warranty and that the notes on the computer regarding my appliance indicated that it was field scrap. Field scrap?? Really? This was an appliance that was bought at Home Depot. This is the lowest of lows that this company (Maytag/Whirpool) can stoop. For a billion dollar company, that are advertising their products as Made in America, they have no heart and no empathy for their customers. They build sub-standard products comprising of cheap parts so that their products only last a few months, then they try to sell you their sub-prime warranty services that are full of holes. And for those poor souls that dont sign up for their warranty services, God help them if their appliance breaks down. They are then left to deal with Maytag/Whirpools appliance service vulture contractors which in tandem with Maytag conspire to squeeze every last cent out of hard working Americans (Especially during these trying times).Just to compare my situation. My parents bought LG washers and dryers in 2008 which remain in full working operation to this day (12 years in operation). The Maytag Bravos broke down in 2.5 years. Use my experience as a lesson. Do yourself a favor and save yourself the headache and heartache. DO NOT, I mean DO NOT purchase or support Maytag/Whirpool appliances. You are better off spending your money with LG or Samsung.

In October of 2012 we bought a Maytag Refrigerator Model MFF2258VEM. In the spring and summer of 2014, we noticed puddling on our kitchen floor. We thought it was our dishwasher or sink since the $1800+ fridge was new, but couldnt find the problem. We travel a lot and are gone for extended periods. When we returned in winter of 2014, we discovered that there was substantial puddling and found a sheet of ice in the bottom of the freezer compartment. We did research and found that this is a common problem with all the bottom-freezer Maytag models, which then leak. We discovered that the leak had seeped into our kitchen sub-floor and was destroying all of our kitchen floor tile, causing cracking and breaking, a renovation of just a few years previous that cost a lot of money. There was NO problem with the floor until we put in this Maytag refrigerator. The remedy for the leaking is constant maintenance and a lot of work, totally ridiculous for a product that costs so much. I want to sue Maytag for both replacement of the refrigerator and the cost of replacement of my tile floor. Can someone please advise? Thank you.

I purchased a Maytag refrigerator (MBF2258XEB), stove (MER8674AB) and dishwasher (MDB7749SBB) on May 26, 2013. So far all three have been worked on. First, the dishwasher would not fill up with water after the trial run. Called the repairman out. A tag was placed in a position that was preventing the dishwasher from loading up with water. Granted, we should have taken the tag off, however, it stated not to. Lucky for me, I am still under warranty. Second, the refrigerator, which is a freezer at the bottom, started to leak. I thought that maybe we were dropping ice. However, I finally called and had the repairman back out. He knew exactly what the problem was because Maytag knew about it. There was a faulty plug. So in a matter of mins the problem was fixed. Lucky me still under warranty. Those two things happen within six months of purchasing these items. Now, the oven does not work. It heats up to the desire temperature but then cuts off. Called the repairman and he thought it might be the lower baking element. Unlucky for me, warranty has expired. So, $90.00 for service call. Received a called from the repairman, $120.00 for labor and $70.00 for the baking element. I purchased the baking element myself, $58.08 and installed it. Still does the same thing. Now I have another appointment for him to come back out and see what is wrong. Another $90.00! So far I have spent $238.08 on a $699.99 stove. I will never buy Maytag again. Depending on the amount to repair will depend on whether or not I go back to Sears and buy Kenmore. I had Kenmore for 10 years with no problems. I should have gone back to Sears for my upgrade. I did contact Maytag via email. I am still waiting for a reply. Live and learn!

Well Maytag, shame on you! I just called customer service about the third repair made on my Maytag 4000 Series Washing Machine; its only two years old. The rep side stepped the limited warranty that is good for five years on the motor and tried to sell me another warranty for $329.00. I have $460.00 (parts only) in repairs. Purchasing a warranty will have me spending more money than I actually paid for it. The excuse that I was given was (per quote) our machines are made by people and we have no way of determining the outcome of our products past the given warranty. Maybe you should have considered buying the extended warranty that was offered at the time of purchase. Yeah, maybe I should have, but Maytag should build a product that consumers are happy with, and extended warranty sales past a longer period of time might make more sense. If you are thinking about purchasing any Maytag appliance, I would think twice or you just might get some person on the other end of the line that just doesnt care, representing the name of Maytag! I visit the Big Box Stores daily and you can bet your tail that I will make a special visit to the appliance section just to discourage any one from making the same mistake I did! Just think, the last washing machine that I purchased lasted for 9 years (not one issue) and it was still working when I gave it to someone in need! I have three appliances in my kitchen that are 11 years old, never had one problem with either one. Thank You KitchenAid! I should have purchased your washer and dryers!

I have had my Maytag Bravo for 5 years now. I originally paid 1800.00 for the set. And yes that is without the tax. Well I also got a warranty. Three years after I purchased my set my dryer stopped drying my clothes. I called the warranty company for a repair man and lo and behold my warranty is over. The repairman came and said that my lint was backed up. He stated that it was a good thing that I called when I did because they have been known to catch on fire. I asked him how is this possible? I check my lint screen and clean it after every load. He stated that the lint falls off the screen and just settles at the bottom of the dryer. And sometimes the dryer will get so hot that it will actually set the lint on fire. He fixed it but now it is back to doing the same thing two short years later. Im thinking that Maytag must know about this now and I am wondering why they havent did a recall on these before someone gets hurt or even worse by trying to do laundry.

But I contacted Maytag and they suggested their factory authorized technician who could not correctly locate the problem but charged for the visit. Later he also came to the same conclusion. After one year, this famous Neptune washing machine began to sound so noisy during the spin cycle that neighbors must have thought a 747 was taking off from our house. After researching the web, I found that the main bearing always fails in this machine and there is a new one-man repair industry started up across the US to just replace these bearings. In fact, someone invented a bearing puller just for this problem. I am deeply disappointed that a once fine company would knowingly put out such trash. I am replacing ours with another brand, even though we have used Maytag for 30 years. Customers always determine who wins and who loses in the long run. Bye, Maytag!

We purchased the Maytag front loader Neptune washer and dryer set in 2006.
We purchased the Maytag front loader Neptune washer and dryer set in 2006. Since then, the washer violently vibrates during the spin cycle - moving out of place and requiring me to move it manually. A certified Maytag technician came out to fix it and could not. The Maytag representative I spoke with said the circuit board is known to be defective and Maytag has not given any direction on how to fix, but that the board is irreparable at that time (in addition to the mold smell that emits from the washer despite the fixes for this). The old washers also used to have a coin receptacle so that any coins that were left in pockets went into the coin receptacle instead of into the pump area. This protected the pump assembly. But to cut costs, they took that coin receptacle out. This causes any coins or other possible things that fall out of the pocket to go into the pump area, getting lodged in there and requiring a costly replacement for the part in addition to costly labor. This washer does not do the best job in the spin cycle because it vibrates so much, leaving a lot of excess water in the clothes. I have also smelled a burning smell when doing loads that suggests there may be electrical issues that could cause a fire hazard. Then there is the dryer. The Maytag Neptune front load dryer has design issue with the electrical assembly. We smelled a burning smell and unplugged it. After taking apart the front cover, the heating coils had set on fire excess lint that had gotten into the heating assembly. In addition, the coil snapped in half, possibly causing a short in the wiring. This also caused other electrical issues that are causing more money to fix. In addition, this is the second time we have dealt with electrical issues with the dryer that have cost us over $400 to fix, including having to replace the drum because it was cracked. Lint and other items seems to get into the very important electrical areas of the dryer due to a faulty design in the lint tray, because the lint goes right through a hole into the areas where the heater coils are, which caused the burning smell in our dryer. In my opinion, both these machines could be very good machines if they were not made so cheaply and if they put good quality into the machines. They dont seem to be worth the price and the support is not there. Even more frustrating, the company does not stand behind the product, leading me to believe that they know about these problems, but dont want to fix them when they go bad. This can pose a hardship for families waiting for two weeks for parts while their dryers or washers are broken. Not to mention the enormous repair costs after the warranty has expired. Try to get them to replace something on the warranty and you have even more problems.

DO NOT BUY MAYTAG REFRIGERATOR. I purchased a Maytag refrigerator 3 years ago, now it started to leak water on the floor. Repairman said this happens after about 3 years to all Maytag refrigerators because the water hose is too small and gets plugged which causes water to flow into bottom of freezer; 2 inches of ice on bottom of freezer. Now we have to remove everything from freezer and refrigerator, unplug for 2 days to melt ice so we lose all of our food in freezer and refrigerator.

First of all, I had a Maytag for many years and could not have been happier. When it came time to replace, I did not even consider other brands. I have had my dryer for less than a month and the interior already looks dirty. I contacted Home Depot where I purchased it and reported the problem I was having and would like to return this model and purchase a higher end model assuming that it would not have the same problems. Home Depot said all appliances are special orders and can not be returned. I could contact Maytag and have someone come out and look at it for no charge. I contacted Maytag and they told me that they could have someone come out but if they decided it was just cosmetic, there would be nothing that could be done and I would be charged. I said, I am telling you it is cosmetic! Why would I pay someone to tell me that? The guy suggested I take a damp rag to clean it. I said think about all clothes that are being dried are damp!! I will never buy a Maytag again and will not buy any appliances from Home Depot!

This machine was in best machines of 2019/2020. It has many features. Ive had one day and have multiple concerns, I will be returning the machine. The dryer isnt great either. Had multiple loads not dry. On the washer, there is no interior light so you cant actually see items in washer to judge soap etc. Has a soap disp that is supposed to hold multiple loads, says 8. Ive washed over 8 and the out of soap alert hasnt come on as youd expect, but when I check the dispenser is full of water so who knows! Cant see inside so I have so way of knowing if there is soap that is still going in, should I add more or what? The alert bell is too quiet, cant hear outside of the laundry room. Multiple loads have not spun out well, leaving standing water and clothes too wet for dryer. Ive had to run a drain/spin cycle to get clothes spun out. It is supposed to connect to wifi but that hasnt been successful, plus, not everyone keeps a phone on them 24/4! Need a louder alert. I washed a sm item that threw it off balance. My LG washed a small floor mat with no issues. I do a significant amt of research before a LG purchase and I feel I was lead astray. I am not happy with this washer or dryer. I wanted to buy American made but this is not up to the standard I expected from Maytag.

The middle piece of glass on my four-year-old gas oven shattered. It was not being used, but when I called Maytag, they told me that that was not covered because I did not have an extended warranty, and that I can purchase a new oven door and would have to pay the service person. I hope they go out of business. Maytag stinks, and everyone should know this.
