I write this as the repairman is fixing my Neptune washer. As with many other complaints, I was experiencing the awful mold smell with the only fix being leaving the washer door open when not in use. This works but for the past few years a switch on the front broke which means we have had to leave the top off the washer and rig it every time we used it. Sometimes it would work and sometimes an error code would show and I would have to just turn to spin and finish that way. At the same time in 2005, I purchased all Maytag appliances. First the microwave went out then the ice maker broke and is still broken, then the dishwasher went out and had to be replaced. Washer broke so basically the only thing that has had no issues is the oven and all happened just outside the five-year warranty. Never again will I buy Maytag.

Maytag BRAVOS XL Washer - The worst washer I have ever used. Do not buy! It does not use enough water and leaves a white scummy residue on dark clothes. You have to wash them all off in warm water and then send it through one or two more rinses to get it washed off. I may as well do laundry by hand! Absolutely disgusting!

I purchased the Maytag Bravos XL MVBW755DW Washer and MGDB755DW Dryer in July 2016. Shame on me for not making my complaint sooner. They offer the Tide Pods for use but they dont completely dissolve and leave a residue/stain on the clothing. I have to wash everything on Deep Water Wash just to try to get them to come clean. Clothes will come out dry in some spots, they will have fabric softener stains on them, the pre-treated stains are still there once washed. Lint residue will be left on just about every piece of clothing. The fabric softener/detergent dispensers left side is rusting and I have to pull it out and clean it once a week. I cant get to the track on the inside to try to clean it and soon that will deteriorate and the dispenser will no longer slide into place. If I could attach pictures I would. Now moving on to the dryer, it dries clothes great. My only complaint at this point is that when the cycle is getting ready to shut off it sounds like a jet engine and rattles terribly. To sum this up, I called customer service this morning. They said nothing that I am explaining to them sounds as though it is a manufacturers defect. They said they will send a tech out to review at a fee of $99.95 plus the cost of any labor associated with the repair. They did however offer to pay for the parts. Now my question to them is if none of my issues are a manufacturers defect then why would you offer to pay for the parts? The unit(s) are no longer under warranty... Think twice, gather as much information as you possibly can prior to making a major purchase. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT!

I purchased a Maytag Centennial Commercial Technology washer in September 2010 which is less than two years ago. It decides to stop spinning correctly in the Spin cycles. Clothes come out sopping wet so I contacted Maytag to have a tech come out. On the day that the tech came out from A&E Factory Service, he stated it was a switch. He changed the switch and still, it did not spin correctly. He then proceeds to state that it is another part, which again, it did not do the function correctly. He then proceeded to state that it is the clutch, then the transmission. The cost was raising to $519.00.I stated that I did not want to proceed because I would be purchasing a new washer with that quote. I stated to place all the original parts back onto the washer. He did so, but did not place them on correctly. The casing of the washer no longer is secured to the drum - bolts and plastic pieces are still on the side. He left my house with finger prints of grease on the walls. If this is the workmanship that Maytag recommends, then my business deserves to go elsewhere.A complaint was filed with the A&E Factory Service. However, no one has contacted me about the complaint as was requested. All I want is for my washer to be fixed or to have a tech who is knowledgeable to come out and fix it. I contacted Maytag to inform then of the situation and they stated that all their techs are certified. I do not believe that my washer of less than two years old could possibly have so many parts that are faulty. I hope that this may, in turn, help another consumer to avoid purchasing washers through Maytag and their parent company, Whirlpool.

Bought the Maytag MDSH969AWS1 in Dec. 2010, and it quit after 4 and 1/2 years. Ironically, replaced a perfectly good 20 year old GE model that ran great for this piece of junk. I tried to diagnose the problem: the washer fills, but when the cycle is supposed to start it just hums. Then you have to drain it. So I think the problem is the motor or capacitor. The parts are stupidly overpriced, and Im not even sure if that is the problem. It could also be the electronics board (Ive heard of the problems with these on this brand). So instead of risking wasted time and parts Im junking this, er, piece of junk. The stainless steel door was rusting on the bottom too. American made crap! Bought a fancy Samsung to replace it, and will NEVER buy Maytag again. Im old enough to recall the lonely Maytag repairman -- Itd give him a swift kick in the rear for being associated with such a shoddy brand. Maytag, its the Dodge-Jeep of appliances.

Two years ago I purchased a Maytag commercial technology top-load washer. It only two options for water level, either deep water or Auto sensor. Because I live alone I have very small amounts of clothing to wash at a time. Therefore I was excited about the auto sense to save water. However when using the auto sensor theres such a small amount of water in the drum it does not cover the clothes being washed and often I have items of clothing come out of the wash cycle and rinse cycle with dry spots on them yet. The clothes dont get clean and begin to smell stale shortly after theyve been washed. I contacted the business from which I purchased the machine and they were not able nor willing to do anything about my dissatisfaction. This is the worst Appliance I have ever purchased in my 64 years hows life. I hate this washer. It is totally ineffective. And now Im stuck with it and dirty clothes.

I purchased a Maytag fridge with a freezer on bottom. As you know there are many complaints regarding ice build-up in freezer causing leakage out onto the floor. I will not purchase Maytag again. For 3 years I have fought the ice buildup and it has ruined my floor! Poor design - should have been recalled!

I purchased the washer and dryer approx 6 or 7 years ago. Out of the gate about a year the pump had to be replaced on the washer- 2010. 1/2012 the tub needed to be replaced, 6/2012 the PUMP needed to be replaced again! Then 2013 the dryer need a new board at the tune of $391.00. And today, yes - yet once again I need a new pump! Over $2,000 in repairs on these awful machines. I called Maytag because I thought maybe they would care - not so much. The rep told me that the Bravos models were discontinued (shocker) but that she could give me a discount on a new comparable version at ONLY $600. How nice! I will use these until they fail again - which according to history - that wont take long and then I will NEVER EVER EVER purchase a Maytag product again. We work hard for our money and continually giving it to a company (for parts) for a product that they failed to make a quality product is not going to happen again! DO NOT BUY MAYTAG. Do your research and give your money to companies that care. MAYTAG should be held accountable and a class action suit should be filed. They need to GET IT and they never will if we sit back and let them take advantage of consumers.

I purchased a Neptune washer/dryer front loader. All Neptune washers have basic design flaw over which the company should be sued. Since the bulk of the weight is in the front of the horizontal wash-drum, the entire assembly is suspended by a rear mounted bearing allowing the drum to spin. That bearing assembly is woefully under-designed and not able to support the unequally distributed weight that is inherent in any front load design.Since the forces of gravity cause a loading of the rear bearing on the front of the bearing raceway only, the machine is doomed to catastrophic failure of the entire drum system--and they all do this. When the washer goes into spin mode, it sounds like a jet engine taking off and that is a symptom of the bearing design beginning to fail which begins on the first use of the machine. The cost of the drum assembly/bearing and the labor is far more expensive than buying a new machine and therefore, not worth it. Avoid Maytag products at all costs.

Purchased this Maytag dishwasher from a local Home Depot in Feb. 2014, no problems until now in late July 2015 (about 18 months). The control panel is not responding. Start/Resume light is off, pressing it doesnt seem to do anything. Cancel light is off, pressing it does trigger the cancel drain process. Wash Cycle choices either dont respond, or for 2 of the choices engage an incorrect cycle. Option choices dont respond.Delay light comes on when an incorrect cycle choice displays but stays at 2 hours, can not be toggled off or to a different delay length. Holding Control Lock or Delay for 3 seconds doesnt seem to clear the circuit board logic. Problem began with the Cycle choice buttons defaulting to Rinse Only about three days ago. I assumed user error so let that cycle run, then was able to choose a different cycle (cant remember which one) which also completed. But since then the control panel behaves not at all or incorrectly as described above. Seems to be a common Maytag control board/panel problem, so will probably replace (with something other than Maytag) rather than repair.

Worst brand ever. They both broke at the same time. Spend too much money. Never buying these brand again. Maytag sucks. Dont buy Maytag washers or dryers.

We bought a new Maytag dishwasher MDB7609 as part of the 2010 recall. Within the first twelve months the black skirt at the bottom of the door collapsed to the floor. It was in small pieces and brittle as though exposed to excess heat. The repairman fixed it free but made the point it was not covered under warranty. Next the heated dry cycle baked the water onto the dishes forming a white crusty layer. We have a water softener that works very well. We stopped using heated dry because it is too hot. Last night before bed, I was standing in the kitchen and I smelled something burning. My wife had mistakenly programmed heated dry into the cycle. Obviously this dishwasher is as much a fire hazard as the one it replaced but no recall has been issued yet.

I bought this washing machine 2 years ago or so. We have always bought Maytag. My mother still has hers she bought over 25 years ago and it still looks and works great. So my wife wanted a new washing machine so I said were going to get another Maytag. Boy did I screw up. What a piece of ** junk. Sounds like its grinding gears all the time, so loud. I close the door in the wash room and I can still hear my investment on a Maytag grinding my nerves because I spent so much on a product of a brand Maytag that I thought would be around for a while. Do not buy a Maytag.

We bought the Maytag washer from Home Depot on 5/4/2011 and it quit working on about 7/2014. We had a repairperson look at it and he said the drive transmission is worn out. He recommended that we buy a different machine since the part does not hold up since the part is made out of a plastic fiber material that does not show up. We bought the Maytag because we thought they had good products but a 3 year life on a wash machine is not acceptable. It is installed at our cabin so we only use it part of the year on limited bases.

This machine is awful and a waste of money. Don’t trust the reviews with “workarounds.” That’s crazy! Doing laundry is difficult enough in my house so I need to add extra work? And they don’t work anyway. Water is barely 1-2 inches deep. But the real issue is the clothes don’t come out clean. Of course, they smell clean because all the soap hasn’t rinsed out but they are not. I spilled coffee on a white tee. Dabbed it up with a wet napkin. Threw it in the laundry. Did whites and added extra bleach and extra water because I know how much this machine sucks. Not only are my clothes yellow but the coffee stain is still there. I can’t imagine how it will wash tough stains like blood and wine and grease. I cannot even believe they are allowed to rip people off with this product.

This is a wonderful washing machine. For cleaning clothes it does exactly what you expect from a washer. We have had 2 Neptune front loaders. They, however, have a couple flaws I dont want to live with again and will be looking for one that has come up with the solution to them. One, the bearings on them need replaced on a periodic basis or it sounds like a 747 taking off. Two - the front gasket around the barrel has a mold problem no matter how much you try to keep the thing clean. Other than that, these machines perform fantastic.

Dark clothes are left with residue on them, have to run another rinse cycle to get them clean. Been having this problem since we first got the machine. Anyone else having this problem or got a solution to fix it?

I bought a Maytag washer about 4 months ago and the dryer the washing machine has went down a couple of times but I managed to get it to start again. This time it will not start back up. It just as a little water and stuff and will not lock and wash. It never gets the clothes clean and you have to wash them twice or at least a residue on the clothing. I hate this washer and Im very saddened that Maytag will not come out - told me that they had to find someone. There was no one in the area that could fix my washer. It has been nearly a week now and no response from them. Im going to have to buy another washer. I am so upset to spend nearly 800 some dollars on a brand new washing machine and it does not work. I think that was all the complaints that I have seen on this page so somebody needs to put them on the news and also someone needs to start a lawsuit against this company. Shame on you Maytag. Very unhappy with your product and you.

We purchased our Maytag Bravos XL last month and within two weeks, we were noticing a BAD odor every time we used the machine. In fact, I just walked back into our house from outside and the entire house smells like old dirty dishwater and the smell is coming from the laundry room! This is a very expensive washing machine and we bought it because we thought that a Maytag would be better than the Whirlpool that just died after many years of repairs and aggravation. After reading these reviews, I wish I had bought a Speed Queen.

We purchase a matching Maytag washer and dryer set and within the first three months our washer began to give us error codes and would not wash our clothes completely on any cycle. It was repaired and we began to have the same issues within the next couple of months. This all happened within the first year. We called customer service about extending our service warranty due to the multiple malfunctions of this washer. We were given the run around and, quite frankly, the attitude that this was not their problem. I WILL NOT BUY ANOTHER MAYTAG PRODUCT! Thank you customer service for ensuring that I will not be a repeat customer!

We bought our Maytag dishwasher because of the topnotch features; such as 10 year warranty, low noise level, maximum cleaning power and it looks great. The dishes come out exceptionally clean and don’t needs to be rinsed prior to putting them in.

Maytag MDBH979SAM1 w/ Steam - I purchased this dishwasher Jan 2014 as a scratch or dent at the Sears Outlet. The dishwasher worked great until 4-5-2015. About 3 months after the warranty ran out I called Sears and asked if there was any extended warranty coverage since I used the Sears card. They said No, but recommended I call MasterCard since my card had the MC emblem. MC says that they do extend the warranty up to 12 months. I just filed a claim and hopefully will get a paid for repair. So, if you used a credit card, you may have a warranty extension like me. Check it out. 2 stars because the dishwater is a great unit except for the control board. What a shame Maytag.

I saved for this refrigerator for some time and assumed at my age this would be my last one. Thats a joke, less than 2 years and I see this water leaking on my floor. I blamed my dog at first. This was a Home Depot purchase. I love the middle drawer but the freezer has this problem. I removed the ice but it comes back. I did not purchase the extended warranty because if you have an excellent product, you dont need an extended warranty. And of course this happened RIGHT AFTER the warranty ran out. I am VERY upset with Maytag/Whirlpool. Will NEVER buy another product from them. This fridge should not have problems in less than 2 years.

We like the refrigerator and we have had it several years. But the thing the top freezer conceals much of the top rack of refrigerator. We must duck and almost kneel to get to food inside. Next fridge will have drawers and doors that open on both sides.

Do not buy this dishwasher unless you get the extended warranty. We purchased this dishwasher in Jan 2014. The first one delivered was completely busted up (which was probably the delivery companys fault for not handling it correctly). Then we had to wait for the replacement one to come in to get installed. In Sept 2014 the control panel stopped working. It was repaired under the warranty but it took several weeks for the authorized repair shop to be able to come out, diagnose, order part, and then come back to fix it. Now March 2015 (5 months later) we had the same exact problem with the control panel. The repair company was unwilling to order the part to bring with them even though they already had it in their records what we needed due to the previous repair. It was going to $300 to repair it since they only warranty the repair for 90 days. We decided to replace our 14-month old dishwasher rather than put any more money into it. Shame on you Maytag for putting out such a bad product - obviously this is a common problem. It is quiet and does a good job of washing but to have it take several weeks to get a repair done combined with having a problem that cost 50% of the purchase price to replace twice within a year of each other, absolutely not worth the money. Should have just spent the extra on a higher quality product. Will definitely get the extended warranty on whatever we replace it with.

Maytag Bravos electric steam dryer purchased 2009 - I have had to replace the door hinges within one year of usage at my expense. The blower belt and pulley had come off twice, the last time about a half hour after the repairman (again at my expense) left. I put it back on myself and if it comes off again, I will use Locktite to glue it on the blower shaft. I figure I will be lucky if this crap lasts a couple more years anyway. No more Maytag for us! What does it take for the consumer to get some representation with regard to lemon laws here? I will take my wrath out on Home Depot here since I have no recourse. If enough people complain, maybe they will stop selling that junk. I also will disregard Consumer Reports in the future.

MDB4949SDM1 - After owning Maytag model MDB/C-2 for thirteen (13) plus years, I decided to purchase the subject Maytag Model when my 13 year old died. Big mistake. Previous model was very simplistic in rack design and it provided user-friendly options such as two detachable baskets for silverware and a special rack for delicate items.The new model has been designed so your dishes go in on angles on the top rack and as such bowls, small plates etc never stay in place once you move the rack and the lower rack configuration was redesigned and the rear area which was open to allow for bigger pots and pans to fit better has been removed, so now you have to lay your pans on top of the tines, very difficult to low the dishwasher.Additionally, I purchased the stainless steel model; apparently in the coating process a drip pattern was sealed that you can see when sunlight hits dishwasher. Further the stainless steel face that they bond to the door has popped, so when you grab the handle the face pops in and out. Lastly the new design has an adjustable upper rack; I tried numerous times to adjust the rack and couldnt so when I called Customer Service for these issues, it basically boils down to if the Service Man comes out and determines my issues are cosmetic and the rack which Ive never been able to adjust should happen to work then I have to pay the service call as there is not warranty coverage. So I declined the Service Call and advised that this would be my last Maytag purchase. I highly recommend anyone considering this unit fully investigate and test out before buying.

After purchasing this washer in 2007, the washer started to smell like sewage. At first we werent sure it was the washer and had a company come out to check the pipes. After this and calling Maytag complaining without any luck. We were told to buy affresh tablets and run it through the washer once a month. This last only so long and the smell comes back. Now when the washer goes into the spin cycle it sounds horrible. Again called Maytag without getting any resolve. I will never buy a Maytag again!

We bought Maytag Gas Double Oven MGT8800FZ only just two years ago and the top part of the range oven has already stopped working. It has not been overused as there are only two of us in the family and we use Crockpot regularly which do not require the range. It was fine for about 23months, but now it will not heat up at all We have been unable to get much help from Maytag so are not at all happy with this product. We chose Maytag as it is a replacement for an older Maytag oven and we have a Maytag fridge which will shortly have to be replaced. Not sure at all if we will replace it with Maytag going on our experience with our double oven.

I spoke with Mike today at the customer service department at Maytag to see if Maytag would pay for the parts to repair my 04/2010 Maytag front load washer (model MHWE450WW00). The bearing assembly needs to be replaced. So, that means the tub and basket need to be replaced too. The original cost in 04/2010 was $1,088 plus tax. The cost to repair is $1,048. Maytag will do nothing since it was purchased over 12 months ago. I cant believe I just threw almost $1100 away on a washer. Obviously, there is something wrong when an appliance doesnt work after 1.5 years.

It’s washing day today, so I’m angry, frustrated and livid to do it in my Maytag machines. I’m 72 years old and been doing this for 53 years. It’s not a job you love to do but you do it. I finally get to be able to afford whatever machines I want, so what do I do, buy Maytag. They are beautiful, see through top load, and see through dryer. So finally I get to use them, what a letdown. I don’t understand how they can put these machines on the market. Unbelievable! Also very expensive. The sensor for the water level is way off. It starts washing with hardly no water covering the clothes so this is where I put it on pause and add buckets of water to wet at least the clothing. I did a test to see how the clothes moved inside when washing. It was a load of white towels and I put in a bright green face cloth to see how it moved around in there. Well what a surprise, it stayed on top and moved about 3 inches to the right. That’s all it did. You don’t call that washing, I call that soaking! Terrible washer! I could go on and on but I’m getting too upset. Now for the dryer, the sensors don’t work right so what I do is use the timer and the temperature buttons only. Sometimes clothes gets stuck under the lint basket and by the time the buzzer tells me the load is finished drying, it is so twisted that it’s wrinkled forever. It has ruined a beautiful tablecloth of mine. I can’t sell these machines because I would feel very bad to pass them to someone else…Maytag does but not me. Because of my age I won’t be getting new machines probably, I’m stuck with them, but I would advise anyone shopping for a new washer and dryer, go out there and see what they have, come back home and look for reviews which I did not. Bad mistake! Note: I searched everywhere to write this review to Maytag on their website, none to be found!

My refrigerator temperature control panel started flashing lights and the ice maker flap started opening and closing over and over. I checked online and there are numerous model #s doing the same thing, most all contacted Maytag, some were fixed for no charge. Some were not even though they admitted there was a defect in the electronic control panel. I was one of the ones they refused to fix because they said it was an older model but they fixed a 2006 model, a defective part is a defective part no matter the age especially if they know and admit there is a problem with the control panel.I cant understand why they wont take care of their problem, so now I have to spend over $300.00 to fix a problem that they made in manufacturing, that is not an outrageous amount, thank goodness, but I just dont understand why they wont stand behind their product when they can fix out for probably half that cost to take care of their problem. I didnt make the refrigerator, they did.

I am replacing my second Maytag Bravos washing machine. My first had heavy use and I rationalized that the 5 year life span was due to the heavy use. The one that I am replacing now is only 3 years old and has only done laundry for one 67 year old woman. It suddenly needed two parts with a repair bill that was going to be over $600.00. I decided it was in my best interest to spend a couple hundred more and replace it. I will not be buy Maytag again. The appliance company that I have bought most of my appliances from recommends Speed Queen which ironically also has a full 10 year warranty on all parts and labor.

Maytag AquaLift Oven #YMER8880BW - The aqualift technology does not clean the oven. It is sorely inadequate. I bought Maytag because of its reputation. This range should be recalled as should all their ranges with this useless technology. Buyers BEWARE! Do not purchase any range from Maytag which advertises Aqua Lift technology. This purchase has soured your reputation Maytag. I also purchased a fridge with the stove. I will NEVER buy a Maytag product again. I also would like to ask frustrated and disenchanted readers how they are getting their ovens cleaned. What product(s) can be used. Maytag - complete FAIL!!

Great when it works properly and doesnt leak! Quietness, cycles. Everything that had to go in went in, well laid out. Stainless steel, clean, good looking. Anything with the Maytag name doesnt last any more than a couple of years. Gone through a washer and dryer with no help from Maytag. The dishwasher was replaced by Maytag because the main circuit board was on backorder for more than 5 months. Washer was replaced with a Samsung. If I had to replace the dishwasher out of pocket I would go to Korea or Europe to do so. Maytag, what a huge fall in quality and reliability!

Had our house built in 2009 and the builder carry Maytag Appliances. After 3 years every single appliances start giving us problems. First the refrigerator not getting cold, got it fixed. Then the dishwasher panel, then the built-in microwave, then washing machine. Just the other day the refrigerator broke down again and I was told the compressor was bad. Really? Whats going with this company? All the appliances from this maker dont have longevity. I have 20 year older refrigerator from GE and its still working. Please do not buy this garbage... Its a waste of your hard-earned money.

Bought va washer. Trying to upgrade. Water fills about 1/3 of way even on bulky setting. Supposed to be high efficiency. Detergent does not get all the way out because there is no enough water. Have to put it through 2 rinse cycles. Worst machine. Design is flawed. Clothes all wrinkled. I cant afford to buy clothes and have them ruined. Man must have designed. Hate the washer. Im poor and they want take it back... want my money back. I cant buy washer every day. I will keep on complaining. No customer service. People just put you off. It is a Centennial high efficiency. I own a MAYTAG BRAVOS XL* TOP-LOADING HIGH EFFICIENCY LOW-WATER WASHER. On 9/1/15, after reporting a problem, a service person arrived to assess the problem. His diagnosis led to a second visit on 9/8. On the second visit he replaced multiple parts, assuring us that the problem was fixed. When this proved to be false, we called for a third visit; this time a different person arrived. After disassembling the washer he found a large hole and another cracked area in the inner plastic portion of the tub. We made a fourth appointment for repairs, receiving assurances that it would be repaired at that time. I received an e-mail today (9/16/15) informing me that an additional 7 days would be required to arrange for delivery the required part. In the interim, my wife and I are forced to use a local coin operated laundry about every three days, totaling 7 visits at approximately $25 and 3 hours per visit before the next scheduled appointment. The compensation offered, 9 months extension of the existing warranty is woefully inadequate. I want the appliance replaced, as history has taught me that you are obviously unwilling or incapable of repairing it correctly in a timely manner. Additionally, I want the initial warranty that accompanies a new product extended to a full 3 years. We have paid out over $150 and wasted 18 to 21 hours of our time unnecessarily. I expect compensation for the funds spent as a direct result of the bungling, incompetence of your service staff. My questions are these: 1. Was the part defective prior to installation? 2. If so, why did the representative not notice it and refrain from installing a broken part? 3. Why was there no mention of the damage on the first visit? 4. If not, how did the damage occur? Did the service man damage it and fail to report it? 5. What caused the delay in obtaining the part? I have other questions, but will no longer spend any more time on this debacle. I cannot honestly say which is worse, their quality or their pathetic version of customer service.

Purchased a Maytag Bravos top loading washing machine in Sept. 2015. First time we used it the machine vibrated enough to shake the walls. We thought the balance was off. Called Lowes (installers) and they came out and said it was level. There was something fishy about the grinding type noise it made. Also noticed that in spite of all the noise that the clothes essentially stayed in the same spot while the basket moved. Sometimes the clothes on top never got completely wet or rotated through the wash water. Called Lowes again and they looked at the machine and said it needed replaced. But the 90 time period for replacement had passed. Lowes said it would be repaired. A technician came and replaced the basket, saying it might have been out of round. He left, we used the washing machine and it was worse. He came back an hour later and talked with Whirlpool and they said there might be something wrong with a gear. Hes going to replace the gearbox sometime. Meanwhile we are stuck with a washer that makes a lot of noise, vibrates terribly and doesnt appear to do much washing. If noise equated to cleanliness then it would be fantastic. But had we known about the noise or the many complaints we would never have made this purchase. Whatever happened to Maytag quality? Bet that Maytag repairman isnt lonely anymore.

If there was a zero star rating available, that is what I would select! We purchased this range along with a complete kitchen ensemble for a remodel of our kitchen in December of 2011. Within a few months of purchase the enamel finish started blistering, flaking and peeling. Upon contacting Whirlpool Corp about the problem through their online chatline, email, regular mail and phone, we were informed (quite rudely I might add) that Whirlpool does not warranty cosmetic deficiencies over 30 days after product purchase. This is American Quality?? Since this has occurred the retirement home we are building will have no Whirlpool Corp products in it which includes: Maytag, Whirlpool, KitchenAid, Amana, Jenn-Air, Brastemp, Consul, Bauknecht, Gladiator, or any of the product lineup from the Chinese company Hefei Sanyo which they are buying. The attached photos were taken in May of 2012 and since that time the product finish has only exponentially deteriorated.

I bought my Maytag Model LA608 washer in 1976. It has very few electronics and a mechanical timer. It has been used every week since then for 2 or 3 people. It has had 3 problems in its lifetime. I replaced the 2 valves that control the hot and cold water entering the machine. I replaced a small plastic sprayer part. And last year I replaced 3 clamps that rusted and started to leak. Thats it in 40 years. I was able to open up the front and back covers to get at the parts quite easily.It is a simple machine with almost no electronics to stop working. Nothing bothers me about the machine. Its simple and wonderful. When it finally breaks, I will try and find a good sized machine that washes permanent press and regular clothes, has a controller to select hot/cold/warm water temperatures, has a regular and gentle cycle, and has 3 load levels for the water to be used. I will try to find one that is good quality with few electronic parts. I will not buy a high efficiency model that uses less water as I am on a well and water shortage is not a problem where I live. I will not buy a front loading model.I would not buy a machine that has options that I do not need. I would hope to find a quality machine similar to what I have now. I would read as many ratings about the various models before making a selection and then I would cross my fingers and hope for the best. If it is possible, try and find a good quality machine that will be dependable over time. Buy a basic machine with only the options that you really need. There will be fewer parts to stop working.

Bought a Maytag HD top load washing 11/4/17. Within the first month the machine began to make a loud squealing noise during the wash cycle. A repairman came out 2 times before finally replacing the gearbox and tub. Within the last month or so the problem began again, another repairman came out twice, and once again, had to replace the gearbox and tub. When he left I ran a load and the machine sounded like a war was occurring inside of it. Very loud banging and grinding... heck I was wishing for just the squealing back! Maytag refuses to replace the machine and just keeps sending out repair people. The Maytag name once stood for quality but that was long ago.

We purchased the MMV4205DS over the range microwave in June of 2015 & installed it in July the same year. We purchased the matching range & a dishwasher at the same time as they were running a promo of $150 rebate if all 3 were purchased. They denied us of $50 of the rebate & stated that all of the paperwork was not submitted on time. We received rebates on 2 of the appliances & paperwork for all. 3 were in the same mailing. Hmmm. We were told a 3rd party handles their rebate program. So much for taking ownership. Yesterday the door open message appeared on the control panel of the microwave & now there is nothing; no light, no fan--completely dead. So much for buying American. Maytag does not see that this is a problem? Do NOT buy Maytag!!!

This dishwasher constantly has an odor. I run the dishwasher every third day (there are only two of us), and no matter how well the dishes are rinsed off, there is an unpleasant smell whenever the door is opened. Even after running the washer, upon opening the door an unpleasant scent still lingers. I compare this washer to the Kenmore I left in my previous home and this brand new one falls short. I would not purchase this dishwasher again. But because this is only a year old, I guess I am stuck with it for a while.

This is March 18, 2021. I bought a Maytag washer, model MHW5630HW2, which is their high end front load washer, in early July, 2020. The machine worked fine except that out of an available 10 cycles, only two would run. The seller, which was Sears, replaced it as defective. The second machine runs all the cycles but, though leveled carefully, it rattles, screeches, walks across the floor and generally seems to be trying to tear itself apart. The repair service replaced the shock absorbers in this new machine, after a six week wait for parts. This did nothing to fix the problem. The repairman finally just said he doesnt know how to fix it. After many patient hours on the phone with Maytag, they have said I have no recourse. The machine is under warranty and I purchased, for an extra $350, a five year warranty. Both warranties are useless. Maytag refuses to stand behind their product. I live in a small town in New Mexico. There is only one repairman. He cant fix it. Sooo...if you live in a small town, or dont want to spend endless fruitless hours with repair people or on the phone with Maytag, who will ultimately tell you they just cant help you, DONT BUY THIS MACHINE.

My husband and I purchased our Bravo washer and dryer from Home Depot about 5 years ago. They have been the worst ever. Clothes always tear and we continue to receive an F1 error every time we try to wash something. I dont have the money to buy a new one, but I sure wish I did. I will never buy a Maytag anything ever!

We are an extra-large family, and required an extra-large washing machine to handle our needs efficiently. We thought paying quite a bit more for the reliable Maytag brand name would be a good investment and worth it over the years... HA!!!! The Bravos XL model has turned out to be a major disappointment! It gives no manual control over the water level and you can actually have things come out of a load dry! The loads continually become unbalanced. Clothing is continually damaged - rips, tears, shreds. Wrinkles everything... even jeans?! Even with proper amount of detergent use and frequent affresh tab cleanings, the clean washer reminder light repeatedly comes on. It leaks from the bottom, although we cannot determine why or exactly where the leak is originating! It is a seriously frustrating, substandard product, and I cannot believe Maytag (and Sears, where we bought it) is continuing to sell this machine (and may I add at a crazy high price)! Both of these companies should be ashamed of themselves for peddling such poor quality washers and leaving their customers so dissatisfied! Stay clear of the Bravos XL!

I have a Maytag Bravos washer bought 6 years ago. Recently, it started giving trouble by stopping at spin stage. I contacted a local service company and they immediately told me even without looking at machine, that it is a control board problem and will cost a lot to repair and suggested to buy some other company washer instead of repairing. They told it is the third similar complaint this week. But I contacted Maytag and they suggested their factory authorized technician who could not correctly locate the problem but charged for the visit. Later he also came to the same conclusion. Thus my previous washer from another company lasted for more than 20 years (Still in working condition), this washer required a service with a cost same as its price!!!

Does not clean laundry, leaves dry untouched spots, all my clothes look unwashed & the rinse is terrible, leaves dirt on clothes due to little water in cycle. Im a senior on fixed income. I cant buy another machine.. I called Maytag within a couple of weeks of using washer. They told me We have No guarantee for Customer Satisfaction. This is a complete scam on their part. If I could of afforded a Lawyer I would of taken them to court. They knew what they were selling & somehow got away with it. Give the people what they pay for, not the Bravos piece of Junk. Can only wash on 1 cycle to get wet wash. But paid for other useless cycles. Who made this machine & who allowed it to pass to the unfortunate Consumers. If anyone can help getting Payback from Maytag, Please let us know... Better business Bureau should get after them.

No matter what we we do we still have soap residue left on clothes, even when we do the 2nd rinse cycle (what a waste of water). We use the correct amount of HE detergent and we use the detergent dispenser but it doesnt helps. The machine just doesnt use enough water. We have removed items that still have DRY SPOTS on them when the cycle is done. Areas that have never gotten wet after a 45 minute cycle. Never once had this happen with an agitator machine. I purchased the Maytag Bravo model MGDB950YG on April 22, 2012. It worked great for a while then stopped heating and drying the clothes. After going through the Maytag procedure, a repair person assessed the problem, had to order the part then came back to repair it. But the same thing just happened again! Both Maytag and HHGregg need to go through the appropriate procedures, which leaves me without a dryer for who knows how long this time. Maytag will not do next day service probably because it costs them a little more. I think Maytag should have enough common sense to sometimes make exception to this. Today is Thursday and I cant get an appointment until Monday! I have owned two dryers prior to this which each lasted 10 years plus. I would be much more understanding if I had my appliance for more than 4 months (out of commission 2-3 weeks of the 4 months). Ive never been so disappointed in an appliance!

We purchased our Maytag Washer back in August of 2019 and already needs a Motherboard and Lid replacement. Not only do you have to wait almost an hour to get a hold of their customer service I got hung up on once after waiting that long and the a Customer Service Lead by the name of Brittany couldnt offer any help either. We have been without our washer for almost a month now and will have to wait another couple weeks for the part to come in on top of probably another week for a maintenance person to come out and repair. I asked to expedite the part but that went absolutely nowhere. It actually added time to get the part because it was suppose to be here on the 13th but now its up to 9 business days for that to happen. I would stay away from purchasing any appliance from Maytag with the experience we have gone through and terrible customer service as well.

I purchased a Maytag Dishwasher in March 2013 and the control panel failed in July 2014. I, along with hundreds or thousands of others it seems, discovered that this is an extremely common issue with several models of Maytag dishwashers. Rather than standing behind their products and making it right for their customers, Maytag is hiding behind their one year warranty and refusing to do anything about it or even admit they installed thousands of FAULTY control panels. This has been an expensive, infuriating issue to deal with and I have never been so dissatisfied with a company. Bottom line, they made a bad product that should have been recalled. It blows my mind that they are getting away with this. I wish I had known the recent changes in Maytag/Whirlpool and I wish I had done my research prior to the purchase.

The engineering of all these new machines are totally useless. Bring back the old tech. They DRY wash, NO WATER, they take forever to finish, wasting energy, clothing not cleaned. They are very noisy, doing nothing. Time to recall all of these units. They are totally useless.

This is not about a Bravo but Maytag is the biggest piece of junk Ive ever owned. Have not had the washer but a couple of years and is leaking somewhere inside of the machine. Have to turn the water on and off just to wash clothes and still laundry room floor soaked. The dryer I have to run for 70 mins. on high heat at least twice to dry clothes, 3 times for your towels. Of course it lasted long enough so the warranty had run out. Never ever again would I buy this crap.

We purchased the washer and dryer set from Lowes about 5 years ago, and purchased the extended warranty fortunately for us. We had good luck with the washer for about 6 months, then we had to call problem service out because the washer filled with water but wouldnt do anything else. It took several days for the service people to come out and when they did, they had to order parts to do the repair, so we did not have a washer for a few days or a week. They got the washer fixed and everything was good for a few months, then our dryer quit working. We were told that the tub of the dryer had come off, so they had to order another one. So we were again without a dryer. Once they got the parts in the repair company that was sent out to fix our dryer, did not fix the dryer correctly so we had to call Lowes repair service to send someone out again. We have owned this set for over 4 years and once again our dyer has gone out. During all of this time, I and my Brother had to leave our job in order to be home and meet the maintenance people to fix both washer and dryer. I would not recommend this set to anyone, this is one of the worst sets that I have owned. I thought Maytag was a brand that you never had problems with, but we have had nothing but problems with this set.

Very disappointed with Maytag Bravos XL, four year old unit with bearings going out. Quoted $400 + for repair. With two in the house, wash demands are normal. Quality is questionable to have bearings & seal going out in four years. Also you cannot buy the bolt which holds the Washer Motor Rotor Cover on without buying the whole $130 assembly. Daughter has Whirlpool brand with same problem. Seems to me this is a problem Maytag/Whirlpool should address. My old unit (that I wish I still had), worked for 25 years. Would not recommend these machines.

I bought a new Maytag dishwasher installed by East Town Appliance in Wautoma, Wisc. They installed it and ran a full wash cycle and it worked fine. After they were finished, I got all my glasses out and put in their dishwasher all excited to get them clean and sparkling. I started the dishwasher, put on a coat to check my birdfeeders on the deck where I was standing in front of the patio door. I heard water running suddenly. Turning around to see water gushing out of the bottom of the dishwasher. I called East Town back and had the installers return immediately. The pump was stuck open. I called Maytag about what happened and they said they wouldnt pay for the floor damage because it was already installed and to call my insurance company which I did. They went after Maytag and won but I had to pay $500 insurance deductible. I will NEVER buy anything by Maytag again.

I have been a Maytag customer for many, many years. In November, 2014 we decided to buy a new matching pair. No problems with dryer but the washer has been a nightmare from day one. Have had at least 5 service calls (lost count). The washer constantly smells. Clothes are not clean. Have to buy and run Affresh tablets weekly. Spend more on wash machine cleaner than laundry detergent. Funny thing is Maytag/Whirlpool makes the expensive cleaning tablets. The customer service at Maytag has not been helpful from day one. They recommended I buy an $150.00 extended warranty. Stupidly I agreed and regret doing it. They still have not fix the machine under the one year original warranty. NEVER BUY A MAYTAG BRAVOS WASHER.

One baffle broke off in my washer. Very disappointed in this Maytag Model #MHWE201YW00 Serial #HL20102420. I purchased this in Sept 2012. Where the baffle was hooked on had sharp fins sticking out that ruined my 2 small rugs - shredded them.

The Maytag Refrigerator Model #MFF2558VEW2 I purchased from Sears is a lemon. Ive had problems with the freezer getting a sheet of ice, under the storage basket. The ice starts melting, and pours out on the floor. I have to remove everything from the freezer basket, remove the sheet of ice, and mop the floor. Ive had problems with a great deal of noise coming from the unit as well. The unit has now stopped working completely. I called Maytag at 1-800-253-1301, and spoke with customer service. I was informed of a faulty part, in the freezer. I received the part in the mail, and a phone number of their contracted repair company. The repair man charged me $166.00 to install the part, and informed me the digital control board needed to be replaced as well, for an additional $170.00. I called Maytag again...they said nothing could be done about it. Ive had the refrigerator for 3 1/2 years, and had all these problems for over a year. Im not going to invest over $300.00 to repair a faulty product. Maytag should stand behind their products, and at least furnish the parts, or replace the unit, with something that actually works.

Love, love this washer. Does an amazing job cleaning colors, whites, and bulky bedding. If you like Tide Pods or other liquid pacs, this might not be the washer for you as they tend to end up inside the gasket. Powder-filled pacs are no problem however.

I purchased a Maytag MDBH979SAB0 dishwasher from Home Depot two weeks ago for around $600. I got it installed and it would not turn on. I contacted Maytag and after a few questions, she stated that they would have to send a repairman. After a few days, the repairman arrived and said hed never seen this model before but that we needed a new control panel. After waiting a week with no work, I called Maytag to get an update. The control panel is out of stock and could be a while - they are trying to find one somewhere around the country. They refused to send a replacement dishwasher, even though this was brand new. Their policy says repair, not replace. Dont take the chance purchasing a Maytag dishwasher.

We went to Lowe’s to buy a new washer when our old front loader would’ve cost more to repair than was worth it. This Bravo XL washer is the biggest rip off EVER!! I, like others, have watched with a flashlight & see that most clothes are nowhere NEAR being wet AT ALL!! Let me tell you... I am BEYOND LIVID!! I bought this washer thinking we could wash our comforter at home instead of a laundromat and WHAT A JOKE!! It would never even wet a FOURTH of a queen comforter, let alone the whole thing!! My husband had to actually LEAVE HIS JOB to go home and change because his shirts smelled like a wet animal! People actually were commenting on the smell!!Believe me, we tell EVERYONE how ridiculous this whole energy saving scam is!! AND... I am having to wash clothes TWO and THREE times to get them NEAR smelling normal!! My electric bill and water bill have gone up substantially and again, I AM LIVID BEYOND WORDS!! We spent over $900 for this washer with the extended warranty!!! NEVER EVER AGAIN WOULD I BUY MAYTAG!!! And I have tried EVERYTHING to try to rectify this; I added less detergent, I’ve used the deep water wash, extra rinses. I’ve had the Maytag technician here replacing the circuit board thinking perhaps THAT would give me more water. I sure wish we could all do something for SO MANY of us being taken advantage of!!! Did I mention I’m FUMING?!!?

My less then 6 month old washer presented an error code and stopped working in mid November 2021, so I contacted Maytag and they sent a service man out to my house. The service man was distraught and said it the washing machine had catastrophic failure - they would order the parts and get it repaired. Early January I still had heard nothing, So I again contacted Maytag and they had no answer.On January 26th I finally received an email saying due to parts on backorder I had been approved a new washer and JB Hunt would be handling the delivery and disposal of the original washer. On Feb. 07 - I contact Maytag, yet again, due to not hearing anything for almost 2 weeks - They stated that the request was not submitted properly and it would be another 5 days before a representative would be in contact with me. I am currently still paying on this brand new washer that does not work on top of 4 + months of laundromat fees due to not having a functioning washing machine and I am nowhere closer than I was mid November to a solution for this washing machine. I would NEVER recommend Maytag to anyone!!

When I attempted to contact Maytag about an issue in my 3 month old washer all I received is an automated email back saying to contact one of the repair places on their website. There was one, so I notified Maytag I would contact them. I contacted them. They said Maytag had not notified them that this was a warranty repair and if I wanted them to come out I would have to pay for it. I have attempted to contact Maytag several times to get this straight. Guess they are trying to wait out the warranty to respond. Will NOT EVER buy another Maytag. Too bad they used to be a good product.

Ive read a few reviews and would have to agree. This is the worse washer I have ever purchased. I agree clothes go in dirty and come out dirty. I have to hand wash clothes to get them clean and wont even mention how long it takes a white t shirt to start looking like it was placed in mud vs being placed in a washer. Called Maytag and they said I was loading it wrong even though I was loading it as suggested by the manual. Then they suggested it needed service. I think not after reading these reviews.The irony is that I had called for service on a front loader due to prolonged washing cycles, the repairman was as useful as this MayTag washer. Come to find out I replaced a perfectly functioning washer, intake screen on cold water needed to be cleaned, for this piece of useless metal. I guess since reading that Maytag doesnt value its customers by offering some type of consideration I will replace this piece of crap. Please dont buy the Bravo series. You will be sorry and you will never have whites white again.

Washer Model MVWC555DWO. I dont like this machine. I thought Maytag is a good brand name, but I dont think so anymore. The engineers who designed these new machines with the water level saver dont do laundry. In order to get the cloth covered with water, I have to use the bulky sheet level. I have 2 jeans and a sheet that got holes in them, because the water level was not right. I would have my old machine repaired, if I have know how my new one would do. Im stuck with this machine. I dreaming that this machine breaks down soon and I can buy a new that has a better water level. My old one had water saver level too, but did a great job with the water level.

I have had my refrigerator freezer for 2 1/2 years. It worked fine until about 6 months ago. The vent started freezing and then water ran to bottom of freezer and freeze. If I get this fixed, I hope that will be the end of the problem. I am going to defrost it the old fashion way to see if that works. I will never buy this product again.

This will be the third repair of this refrigerator in one year, the same issue of the refrigerator warming up. Water all over the floor due to ice thaw. Also food spoilage. I want another refrigerator at this point. The Maytag repairman is definitely not lonely. He has more business than he can handle with this defective refrigerator. Terrible. Do Not Buy!!

I will never buy anything made by Maytag again. I just bought this washer 9 months ago and the sensor broke. The repairman said I have to pay $300 for the new part and it will take 3 weeks, then the repair told me many people have this same issue and he wanted to be honest that this always happens to these washers and my best bet is to buy new... I am so sad I saved for 4 months to buy a new washer and it was a bad decision. I have learned my lesson.

I have a 50/50 chance of completing a wash cycle. Most times, the washer stops working at 8 minutes remaining in ANY cycle. The washer will leave me with wet clothing and refuses to spin even when most wet, dripping articles are removed. I have tried to put all light-weight items together and that still is not a guarantee that I can get this done in one cycle. Most often, the error code comes up, I spin the drum around, move the clothing around and try again. This process is NOT energy efficient which is why I bought the ** thing in the first place. I am ready to put it on the curb for the trash man to pick up.We had a service person out and he said it is either the bearings or the motor (both a $400 job). I will NEVER buy another front-loading washing machine. At least with the old-fashioned top loaders you can get the load balanced and at least get clothing to go through the spin cycle. I am now hand-wringing clothing once again since the machine tells me when it will spin my clothing. That stupid chime is about to send me out of my mind!

We purchased Maytag dishwasher model #MDBH989AW53 in January 2010. June of 2012 the control panel died. Luckily, we had the extended warranty. The service company came and replaced the panel. 3 weeks ago, the panel died again! The service company replaced the panel again. Today I got home and the dishwasher is completely dead! I am so furious!!! At this point, I may just have to bite the bullet and buy a brand new machine. This should NEVER happen to an appliance that is so new! What a laugh regarding the Maytag quality! It is the WORST I have ever seen in my life! Stay away from Maytag!!!! Buyer beware!!!!

Refrigerator - The freezer of the refrigerator would randomly leak on the floor. When I had it repaired on 12/30/14, at a cost of $253.97, the repairman showed me the defective part. He confirmed the online reports that the leaking was caused by a defective part. The defective part had been used because it was cheaper. Now the repaired refrigerator works well. Last month, the control panel on the dishwasher stopped working. According to the online reviews, this is a frequent problem requiring that a new control board be installed. The reported failure typically occurs after the one year warranty expires. My appliances are located in a second home so are only used about once a month. A salesperson at a different appliance store said that appliances usually last from 10 to 12 years. The four years of occasional use prior to failure is not acceptable. I would like to have Maytag repair the dishwasher at their cost. How do I get this to occur?

First off I dont usually spend my time writing complaints; however, I feel Maytag is deserving of my complaint. Purchased dishwasher Model #mdbh979sab1 in 2013 and days before the 1-year warranty was up the front control panel quit responding, rendering the appliance useless. Got that fixed under warranty. Now about 1 year later guess what... Its got the same problem. Began to read others post on this site and found that this is a common issue. One person posted that her dishwasher began to smoke and nearly caught her home on fire. Maytag was kind enough to offer a paid service call and enrollment into their extended warranty program. I think Ill cut the umbilical cord on this one and go get something more reliable and doesnt pose a potential fire hazard.

We are a family of three. We purchased our Washer and Dryer New, November 2011 at Lowes, in Lindale TX. I am disabled. I have had several spine surgeries and getting ready for another. I was injured at work and it left me crippled. I do not receive any benefits from my County Employer. My wife is a schoolteacher. We live on a limited income after my accident. We purchased this set with utmost confidence, our last set was twenty years old. We updated due to water, electric, and the environment. Our Maytags we had were still usable, it was just time for their retirement. They were hand me downs washer and dryer set. Truly! I dont know how old they were. When our washer started having troubles, it was making a horrible noise. We called Hughes Appliance. Theyre an authorized Maytag Repair Service Warranty Center. They sent Mark out we used them before. He stated the motor was not loctited from the factory. It worked its way loose almost coming completely off. This cost me a $85 service call. Mark also stated that the Tub Bearings were going out because off this. He called Maytag Customer Service and Dealer Warranty Service, said they wouldnt pay for the repairs or even the Service call for their factorys snotty WorkmanShip. I tried calling myself and got absolutely nowhere. I was polite, courteous and nice and they still Said, Sorry, We Know its less than three years old but thats the way it is. Sorry Sir! Have Nice Day! Its going to cost $389 to replace the tub bearings in top load washer. The washer only cost about 750 less than three years ago. Its the most expensive clothes washer Ive ever owned. One thing! If they dont make things right, I promise I will never own a Maytag again! And when I am in a store and see someone looking at their product I will make a point to tell them my situation and about my Maytag Washer. One thing is certain I can make sure young customer dont buy the wrong appliances while I sit patiently in my wheelchair waiting on my wife. Thanks Maytag! Its not What You Did For Me! Bravos quiet series 300 - After reading reviews on this washer and dryer I have to add my thoughts. I bought this set a few years ago and initially was very pleased. However, I am now having the same issues as everyone else. The bearing on my washer is bad and needs replacing to the cost of almost a new washer. My dryer started acting up at the same time, my clothes would not dry at all and I discovered the inside of the door was wet and after pulling out to check the wall vent, the vent had water puddled up inside the wall. The tubing from the dryer to the wall had mildew growing in it. Which may explain why my towels and clothes come out of the dryer smelling like mildew! The repairman was here today and repaired the dryer, there was a large amount of lint at the bottom of the dryer once he opened it up, which I believe could be a fire hazard. The seal (or felt seal) around the drum was coming off and had to glued back onto the drum. The belt under the dryer had come undone causing the dryer to not dry, but would spin. It is a shame that Maytag has not resolved the issues that everyone seems to be having, even if it has been years since we all purchased their product. Maytag is supposed to be a reliable product name and you would think they would like to fix this issue to keep their name clean! My first washer and dryer (which were Maytag) lasted more than 12 years and cost a lot less than this set which I dont think is more than 5 years old! I hate to spend more money on a new machine, but I may have no choice. Very sad customer right now.

We bought the Maytag Bravos XL washer 6 years ago when we moved into a new home. We have a large family and after reading many reviews, we settled on this washer. It has served us well for the past 6 years. At the moment, however, it is out of commission. The bearings wore out. My husband ordered new parts and we hope to have our washer up and running again in a couple of days.

The Maytag Bravos XL low water washing machine is very disappointing. About 20% of the time it needs a second rinse because there isnt enough water released to rinse clothing. Forget washing anything large. It just doesnt do it. Waste of money. The matching dryer is just fine - no complaints.

I purchased a Maytag dryer #MEDB400VQ for $715.48 along with a 5-year warranty for $119.99 on March 30/2012. Since then, the dryer has broken six times. Our warranty stated that after it breaks 3 times, we would get a new dryer. All claims for a new dryer have been denied. The dryer is still broken, going on 10 days, only to find out that parts needed are on back order for two more weeks. This is unacceptable! I will never ever buy a Maytag again and will tell all family and friends my story so they do not purchase a Maytag and go through the hell that Maytag has put my family of five through!

From the beginning, the blower motor (for the control panel? never needed one before) was too noisy. I just bought the oven from Lowe’s. They sent out a repairman. He replaced the motor, but has exactly the same level of noise. It is bad design/engineering. Im going to try some other brand. One problem is that you cant listen to the fan noise before you buy the oven and install it. And there are no decibel requirements or ratings. Industry regulations need improvement. Model MEW7527A, bought new in Dec. 2012.

I really liked my Maytag Bravo X washer. Until, at less than 2 years old, it started having issues. It all of a sudden starting sticking in the spin mode, then it wouldnt turn off even though the cycle was complete. I have to pull the plug out of the machine it to stop from continuously running. I was charged $104 to have a certified tech come out for 15 minutes and recalibrate it and it worked for another month. It started having that same problem again and now, I have learned I need a new control board, which costs over $200, plus labor, over $60. The Maytag service rep I spoke with was very pleasant when she told me she spoke with her supervisor and told me there was nothing they can. So now I dont like my pretty new machine at all, and have to decide if I should stick almost $300 into getting it fixed again, or buy a new washer, NOT A MAYTAG! As I voiced my complaint on the Maytag website I saw that there were many of the same complaints about the faulty control board and am wondering what does it take to get a recall?

I bought a Maytag washer in June and its the worst washer I have ever had. It has been 15 yrs since I had to buy a washer. My last washer was a Kenmore which was great. The Maytag does not have a water control knob. It has auto sensing which is crazy. I know how much water I need to wash my clothes. The water sensing barely puts water over the top of the clothes which is not what I need. My husband works in the oil field and gets oily and dirty. The next issue is the agitator that agitates the clothes. This one is a joke. The agitator starts agitating the clothes before the water is over the clothes and then when it needs to agitate it does a poor job. I am so unhappy with my machine that I am getting rid of it and looking for an old type washer. Evidently you made this washer for white collar people who do not get dirty. This is definitely not a washer for people who have dirty laundry. I am so disappointed with Maytag. I thought this was a good brand.

The digital display on our Maytag Washer model MVWB765FW, bought 3/22/2017, failed overnight (whilst the machine was not operating) after 3 1/2 years. A reputable firm came out and diagnosed the problem, their report concluded that the Control Board had failed and needed replacing: they provided a verbal quote of $525 [ ! ] to do that. The machine cost $600 and based on the expected life for washers (per Consumer Reports) of ten years would have a maximum residual value of $420 based on straight-line depreciation. The retailer from whom we bought the washer told us that he had contacted Maytag and asked them what they were prepared to do about this failure: a week later and absolutely no response from the manufacturer. Apparently Maytag has no concern for their customers or their own reputation. We made the mistake of buying this machine based on Maytag’s reputation and a ten year warranty which appears to cover only parts unlikely to fail! NO MORE MAYTAGS FOR US.

We bought a Maytag French Door 21 cu. ft. refrigerator in 2008. 2010, 3 repairs later, the ice machine went out, we went back to ice trays. Now the compressor died. The old ad of bored Maytag repairmen cause they never need repairs is bogus.

The machine can clean even king size quilts, and clothes come out very clean. It is a front load and there are no problems with odors. There are many cycles to choose from. Cycles spin gently enough while getting out most of the moisture.

I purchased a Maytag dryer several years ago, not a fancy one but just a plain simple dryer (model number MDE2706AYW). Thank goodness from the other complaints I have read I didn’t buy one that is computer controlled. The heating element has burned out twice, main thermostat and limit thermostat has burned out, and if you look close, it seems the wires are trying to melt or at least the insulation. Well, the insulation is melting. And the venting system is cleaned regularly so they can’t blame that. The last dryer I had lasted well over ten years with zero problems. I should have just fixed it. I’m sure I wouldn’t have spent as much money on repairs as I have with this one. You remember that lazy Maytag repairman that was on TV for so many years, you know why you don’t see him any longer? He is at my house repairing my ** dryer! You never, never hear me say this but the next dryer I buy will be made overseas. My last appliance purchase with any of these name brands on them: Maytag, Jenn-Air, Amana, Admiral, Crosley, Magic Chef, Performa by Maytag, and Norge.

The way the side by side fridge/freezer is built contributed to several injuries. I am 60 tall and of normal size, and accessing anything in the side doors lower down always results in smashed head, near bleeding injuries. I am so sick and tired of it. No other fridge has done this to me. Add that to the shelves being near razor sharp. One of these days this fridge is going to land me in the hospital with a lawsuit. Most people are not 3 feet tall or 8 feet tall, thats the only way to use this fridge safely!

I have owned my Maytag Neptune Washer since 1998 and this is the first time that it will not drain all the water... Doing some research before I call a repairman... Have a Great day!

We moved into our first house just over two years ago and decided we needed to get a new refrigerator. We did a ton of research online, reading reviews, etc. We found a few not so great complaints regarding Maytag; however, we took our chances. (Note that we live in a house built in the 40s, so the fridge space is small and we needed a fridge size that is smaller than normal. We didnt have many options.) Well, a little less than 12 months later (yes, luckily right before the warranty expired) our ice dispenser stopped working properly. The mini-ice door would not close properly, resulting in a lot of frost in where the ice door was located. (There was so much we couldnt open the freezer door. It would get stuck.) So, we called out the repair guy and he said he had never seen this issue before and basically had to replace the whole flap and parts. Sweet. It was fixed and cost was covered! Well, about 5 months later, it happened again! Ah, they got it fixed yet again. Well, another six months later and after the warranty expired (lucky us), the fridge completely stopped cooling. (And it just happened to be Halloween, not a great day for a house issue.) So, we had to remove all our perishable food and place it in a cooler (which works hundred times better than Maytag products), and move all frozen food to a family members house 15 minutes away (luckily!). We were also super lucky we found a repair company that could come out at 5pm the next day, which happened to be a Friday! Awesome company (Conners Repair in Metro-Detroit). He concluded the defrost board was broken, meaning it was freezing and creating frost and then not defrosting, clogs the vents and not allowing circulation to occur. He was shocked when he found out we only had this fridge for 2 years and said this is something that normally happens in 20-year old fridges. I then decided to call Maytag and nicely requested a refund for the issue. I was told no due to the warranty expiring and also because we didnt use a Maytag repair company. I didnt want to wait a week as I thought this was something that needed immediate attention. I also am not sure why it matters who you get to fix your fridge. I have an invoice for proof of the issue and the repairman even said hed call to verify the issue. I don’t understand why I have to pay for something that was not properly produced, and not to mention the time out of my schedule to deal with Maytags issues. I now know not to buy any Maytag products due to the lack quality. I guess I learned the hard way.

Purchased a Maytag dishwasher (Model #MDB7749SAW1) in January of 2013, installed in February. A little over a year later the control panel went out. I called Maytag and they were kind enough to pay for the part and I had to pay for the service. Now it is July of 2015 and the control panel is going out again. I called Maytag directly and talked with a service representative and the best they could do for me was for $269.95 they would have it fixed and I would have a one year warranty as well. Based on the pattern the warranty is not going to help as it goes out just after a year. For only having it 2 1/2 years it is becoming a very expensive dishwasher. There should be a recall on this control panel. Very disappointed.

We purchased a Maytag dishwasher MDB7609AWS2 in October of 2010. It first stopped working about 2 years ago. Since it was only 2 years old, we were disgusted and decided to let it sit and do dishes by hand. About 2 months after it had stopped, we tried it on a fluke and it worked. It stayed working for about 2 years. It finally stopped again, so we did the same thing, just let it sit. Every once in a while we try it to see if it works. It just recently started working again. We are wondering, what is up with this. We are not sure why or how the sitting works, and it is ridiculous that you have to have an appliance that you cant use periodically. We were too stubborn to have it fixed or buy a new one at this level of newness. We will get by in this manner for at least another few years, so as not to have lost all of our investment in a dishwasher, but we have sworn off Maytag appliances forever.

Add me to the long list of disgruntled buyers of a Maytag Dishwasher. Just like the other 488 people that similarly filed an unsatisfactory rating on this site I too am now on that list. And no surprise - the control panel ceased to function 13 months after I purchased the unit and one month after the manufacturers warranty expired. After brief inspection the problem was obviously a design error leading to premature wear of the electric ribbon in the handle. Phoned Maytag and they advised me it was the first theyd heard of this problem with the model. Only subsequently did I search to discover that the problem was so common it might be characterised as routine. Replace part was 8 weeks and Cdn $153, about 2x the US price. However they wouldnt ship it to me from the US. The repair isnt too difficult: 11 screws and a little patience if youre so inclined. Before installing take a few minutes to trim the plastic where the electronic ribbon strip passes from through the handle without clearance. Save yourself the same repair in another 13 months. Lesson learned - no more Maytag/Whirlpool dishwashers for us.

Bought Maytag Bravos from Home Depot in Dec 2010. Wife didnt like the way it cleaned clothes right from the start. It wouldnt get clothes as clean as her 20+ year old washer. 2 1/2 years later and her $900 washing machine needs $600 in repairs. My wife will finally be happy with the way her washing machine cleans again because we are purchasing a new one this week, and it wont be a Maytag.

The Maytag MGR5875QDW oven does not come up to temperature. It might start, but then it will give 2 dings and show a failure. I have called the 800 number in the manual. There’s no good help. I turned the power off and then on. It’s no help. This a pain in the rear end. That is a kind way of saying it. Home phone is **; cell phone number is **. Call me any time. Thank you. Just read Ann of Colorados (posting April of 2014) message about her Maytag Bravo washing machine and its like I wrote it myself! Our Bravo started with making a loud noise during the spin cycle which turned into oil or a dark liquid spraying out from under the machine, along with saying UL, so I would adjust the load and get it going again only for it to start the spin and rinse cycle all over too! We have 5 people in our family and cannot afford to not have a working machine. We purchased this machine only a few years back to replace another product that was also a piece of junk. I guess as a last resort I will try a Spin Queen which is American made and hopefully will work! Very disappointed in Maytag. Whatever happened to Machines lasting like they did for our Grandparents?

Like many others Ive read about online, our Maytag fridge model MFI2269VEW5 with bottom mount freezer has ice forming at the bottom of the freezer compartment. The ice then melts and runs onto the kitchen floor. At this point, I am able to prevent this leakage problem by removing the 1/2-inch layer of ice that builds up about once a week. Using a stiff plastic spatula, I am sometimes able to remove the ice in one large sheet but usually it breaks up and has to be removed in pieces. I have seen several videos online showing how this problem can be fixed but as a pensioner with limited income, I am sure the expense of a repairman would be prohibitive. I could likely make the suggested repairs myself but because of a knee replacement, I am not able to kneel for any length of time so that is out of the question. Besides, when we purchased this fridge 3 years ago, we expected it to run trouble free for the rest of our days. This is obviously a design problem and Maytag should be covering the cost for all repairs. However, it is a sad reality that Maytag and their owner, the Whirlpool Corporation is only interested in making a profit to satisfy their stock holders. They apparently only pay lip service to making quality products that last and customer satisfaction seems to be a thing of the past.

I wish I had found this website before I bought my new Maytag washer and dryer from Home Depot on March 7, 2018. I replaced a 30 year old Maytag washer that I should have kept. I wash two loads a week so has not been used that much and now it will not drain. I tried everything, canceled the cycle out, checked the circuit breaker, unplugged it, removed the clothing, bucketed out the excess water, tried the drain and spin cycle, etc. Just will not drain or spin. Repairman is coming next week... Still under first year warranty but if it is not the “fault” of Maytag I was told there will be a $90+ minimum service charge.

I purchased a dishwasher model #MDB4709PAM from home Depot in March 2014. There is something wrong with the electrical and it is shocking people if you touch it. Just so were clear.. MY DISHWASHER IS ELECTROCUTING PEOPLE... Called Maytag repair because hey its only five months old. Cant send anyone out for three weeks.... three. Took an hour on the phone because I had to talk to four departments. Kept asking if anyone had been hurt seriously or property damage, so they made sure their butts were covered, sigh..... Should have bought the LG.

We are on our 2nd Maytag refrigerator in 6 years and both units have failed. Maytag will not stand behind their product and the service company declined to come out to look at the unit because we were upset and contacting the BBB. So we have spent thousands on 2 refrigerator units that have lasted 2.5 to 3 years a piece. If I could give no stars I would and I would advise to look at other companies and models.
