Purchased Maytag Double Range MGT8720DH00 in March 2015. Within 2 months had to call gas company due to leak and service came out to fix it. Now anytime my house is closed up during a vacation or extended period away I come home to a locked range with a warning message to check to make sure that the knobs are off. Had gas company (who also called fire department) to come out tonight after returning from vacation with same issue again. They tested and said CO2 was ok, but to check reviews for similar ranges and I have seen repeated issues in reviews for Maytag products. The firemen all commented when they saw that it was a Maytag so it seemed like they have seen these issues before. Very scary to think we could be exposed to a constant low level gas leak in our home. Keeping windows open at all times is not a realistic option.

My husband and I purchased our Bravo washer and dryer from Home Depot about 5 years ago. They have been the worst ever. Clothes always tear and we continue to receive an F1 error every time we try to wash something. I dont have the money to buy a new one, but I sure wish I did. I will never buy a Maytag anything ever!

I purchased a Maytag Bravos XL at the end of June 2013 because my washer of 14 years finally quit. On the 2nd load of laundry I ran, the machine began making a terrible grinding noise. It sounds as if I am washing a load of rocks while its on the wash cycle. I immediately called the local store I purchased it from and they sent a technician out to look at the machine. He couldnt figure out why it was making this noise, so he called Maytags techs for assistance. They had him run a battery of tests and they finally determined they needed to replace the motor. Are you kidding me? On a brand new machine?! Now Im thinking I have a lemon for sure. They replaced the motor and the machine continues to make the same noise. Ive called Maytags Customer Service to let them know about the garbage theyre producing and all I got was attitude. The warranty only covers parts and does not replace machines, so Im stuck in the song and dance of lets try to figure this out and see how they can make this piece of junk work. I then asked to speak to a manager. She offered me a 6 month extended warranty for free. I guess thats a big sign that Im going to need it since what they are producing is garbage. Whatever happened to customer satisfaction? Its now just the too bad attitude. Now, I feel like Im being held hostage by my machine because I have to take time off of work for appointments with service technicians. Wheres Maytags compensation for my time and the hassle of having to deal with this? I paid $1000 for something and I guess its too much to ask for it to actually work. I am all for buying American (the machine had a sticker, proudly made in Ohio) but if this is the quality of work that they are producing they should be embarrassed to work for this company. I will never buy a Maytag again and am making it my mission to warn others of my expensive mistake!

This review is pretty simple, if you have kids, do not buy this washer! I just went to the local wholesale guy after almost 8 months of using this POS, and spent $200 on a older agitator machine, after the first load my 7 year old close came clean of dirt! There is literally no water and the motion of the drum, it is almost impossible for this machine to clean clothes. I really am surprised that no one has started a class action. And to anyone saying the are hog farmers and work outside and get dirty? I would love to see it first hand. I am going to post on YouTube and show what this machine really does. Think about this before you buy, We all get hooked on how big it is, thinking you can do 4 loads at once, but trust me the low water thing is real! How do you clean clothes with no water! You will regret this purchase. And I am a Maytager for life! So disappointing.

I built my home and bought all Maytag appliances. The freezer and fridge knock on wood have been repair free. Replaced control panel on stove for 400.00$. Washer after 2nd repair had to replace 600.00$. Dryer repaired once 95.00$. Replaced dishwasher with a new Maytag. After 2 1/2 years the control panel on my Maytag Dishwasher will not work. This is the 4th repair. I have paid for 2 repairs out of warranty. 380.00$ the last repair. I did request some help from Maytag. They said no... My dealer did only charge me for the parts.

I bought a model MDB7749AWW1 Maytag dishwasher in May 2011. I thought I was getting a nice one, but no one really liked the way the racks were designed after we got it installed and began using it. My biggest complaint however is with the control panel. It failed in November 2011 and was replaced under warranty. It has now failed a second time in June 2012 (just over one year old and out of warranty). Theyve offered to pay for the parts since it is so close to one year and I pay labor. Well see how that goes. Looks like there are lots of problems with Maytag control panels.

My washer is new, out of warranty, and about 2 and a half years old. All of a sudden, with no warning or previous issues, the computer board in the washing machine malfunctioned which caused a humming noise, it would not cycle into the next wash phase, the time would go up instead of down, I could not change cycles, and when I would push the power button there would be a delay of power coming on. I unplugged and called my local appliance repair and he said he sees problems with this model regularly, although not always the same issues. Before purchasing I scoured the internet for reviews on different units to make sure I didnt get a lemon. I think Maytag saw the error of their ways quickly and stopped making these before people caught on. This model is no longer being made. I like matching units, so it meant either shell out $500 for replacing the board, or replacing both the washer and the dryer that still works, which would be about $1200 or more for a new set. I chose the least expensive route for now. Not that it matters where I bought mine, but Home Depot and it was on clearance so it was a good price. I have now made up for that difference in repairs.

Unsafe Maytag - We have had lousy service from our last purchase of a Maytag Atlantis washer and dryer. The washer failed after 14 months, and since it was more expensive to repair it, we replaced it. I needed to do a simple repair to the dryer today, and I had to take the front of the machine off. I found the inside too so full of lint. I believe it was only days away from catching fire. The blanket of lint I removed from the top of the heating element appeared to be charred and black, a fire ready to start in my opinion. I will not have this machine repaired. I want this fire trap out of my house. Before you ask, I must add, my wife cleaned the lint trap often. The Maytag Company has not been helpful. I will add that our first set of Maytags gave us many years of good dependable service. What happened to this company?

After researching the top-rated washing machine in consumer reports, we decided to spend the extra cash ($930) and buy the top-rated machine. Spending almost double on a high end machine, you would expect this machine to last longer than three years. The motherboard needs to be replaced because it gets stuck on a UL code near the end of the cycle. Now, we have had two people come try to fix it, and they said to trash it and buy a new one. Only three years! If I had paid $300, I wouldnt be so upset, but that was a total waste of money for it to last less than any machine Ive ever had. How is a consumer supposed to know what a good washing machine is if they spend extra cash for the top-rated machine and that one is still bad? The company should replace something like a motherboard that goes faulty when it had nothing to do with use. So unfair and frustrating.

This Bravo Top Loading Washer does not thoroughly clean my clothes. It doesn’t fill properly with water, and it leaves soap residue on my clothes, because it’s not using enough water. I’m using the 2 rinse cycle trying to prevent this, and it’s still not enough. It has actually ruined a few of my items. It is the WORST washing machine I’ve ever purchased. I’m disappointed in Maytag for producing such an awful machine and Sears for selling such a sub par product.

I would like to start with, my Mother had always used Maytag washer and dryers. Her machines would last 20 years or more. I bought a Maytag front loader washer and dryer in 2006, since owning these machines have spent in upwards of $1400 in repairs. Some being flood out of tub, mother board blow out a couple of times as well as various other issues. The biggest problem is the awful smell of our clothes, I must wash clothes multiple times to try and remove these smells. I tried contacting Maytag and they dont want to hear my complaints and push me off to purchasing another washer and dryer. Oh, I will be buying a new washer and dryer it just will not be Maytag. Do yourselves a favor and DO NOT buy another Maytag. This is not the same company my Mother knew and trusted.

I purchased Maytag Bravos MVWX500XWO top loading high efficiency low water
I purchased Maytag Bravos MVWX500XWO top loading high efficiency low water washer and it is a piece of junk. All my clothes came out horribly wrinkled and ruined a white jacket when I used the color safe bleach dispenser. I purchased the machine from Sears, where I purchased the extended warranty. I had an A&E technician out and he explained that the new technology of machines are expecting all clothes to be dried in the dryer. Okay, but what do you do with clothes that say hang dry and they come out so wrinkled and twisted that even an iron cant get the wrinkles out? Another suggestion from the technician, put the hang-dry articles in the fluff cycle of the dryer. Well, thats a big nugatory since they are supposed to hang dry them. Supposedly, this machine is all about energy efficiency but isnt it a contradiction when you are using more energy with running a dryer? Someone suggested to me that perhaps there wasnt enough water being dispensed during the spin cycle resulting in horribly wrinkled clothes. Either way, I am on my last nerve with this machine. I always thought that Maytag was an elite company. Well, how wrong I was! Their customer service is pretty much not customer-oriented. Its all about the almighty dollar. After speaking to a supervisor, she explained to me that I should contact Sears with my complaint that Maytag had no recourse. Well honey, Sears did not make the atrocious machine. They are just the so-called messengers. I have unfortunately found that once Maytag sells their horrendous product, they dont even stand by it. Now isnt that typical of companies nowadays and sadly, lacking with this company? Pride in their workmanship! And again, its all about the almighty dollar and who gives a ** about customer satisfaction? Maybe thats why they dont have the Maytag repairman. He was ashamed to be associated with this irreverent company.

Our Maytag Bravos Quiet Series 300 is anything but quiet. Within two years
Our Maytag Bravos Quiet Series 300 is anything but quiet. Within two years of purchasing it, we now hear an F18 jet fighter taking off from our laundry room. Neighbors near and far come running to avoid getting injured when the spin cycle kicks into after burner. Seriously though, this looked to be a nice machine and operated flawlessly until a month ago when the spin cycle started sounding like a jet fighter taking off. I am handy and often fix appliances and things around the house. From reading reviews here on Consumer Affairs and other places, I am finding that the noise problems are more common than not. Investing $400+ into a replacement tub/bearing set would further support Whirlpool/Maytag and the sucking sound they make to get at my wallet. From what I have read, I am likely to have more problems after fixing this one (it will likely break again). I am going to quit while I am ahead and purchase a new washer. Whirlpool/Maytag will never see my business again. Its ludicrous to have an expensive appliance like a washer only last two years. BTW, I just spent $200 to replace the control panel on my 4-year old Maytag dishwasher. A cheap and horrible design. The part probably cost $10 to make. BOHICA. (bend over, here it comes again). FYI: Whirlpool owns and sells its products under several other appliance names. Names that include, Kenmore (yes, Sears), Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Gladiator GarageWorks, Inglis, Estate, Brastemp, Bauknecht and Consul (Wikipedia source). Like a Lotto Scratcher, peel the Whirlpool or Maytag name sticker off and underneath you will find the real name... CRAP! Its sad to think that you have to purchase products made in Korea to get quality. Very sad.

I bought this new washer and dryer pair at Lowes August 2018. I chose this brand because of the very large wash tub (5.3 cu ft) since I have king size bedding. My previous washer was a front loader, and there were problems with the door seal molding and stinking, and loads had dry spots on them after washing. So within a very short time, I realized I hated this new washer. Very noisy, no agitator, very long cycles. You cannot adjust the time or water levels, and the biggest problem... I CANNOT REACH THE BOTTOM OF THE TUB! I had to steal the grabby toy out of our toy box to pull the wet load out! The laundry comes out all tangled up and horribly wrinkled, even when using the wrinkle-free setting. I line dry a lot of my clothes and now have to iron everything. Never had to do that before. I know Im stuck with this set, but will look forward to the day when it dies and I can buy new ones again.

Weve had 2 Maytag washers that lasted a combined 41 years. Five years ago we purchased a Bravos XL top load washing machine directly from Whirlpool. Like many other reviews, it is impossible to keep the machine from going out of balance and trying to tear the laundry room apart. I called Maytag and of course they want to make sure the machine is level in at least 3 dimensional space as well as 2 parallel dimensions per String Theory. As far as the 3 dimensions, I assured them I had already thought of this (as an aside, ever try to find any flat metal on one of these machines? Kind of helps when using a level.)So after more exciting conversation, they offered me a Warranty for $437. While trying to control my laughter, I said I could trash the Bravos and buy a new machine for that price. As far as repairing it, it cost $120 for a repairman to grace my door step plus $35 every 15 minutes plus parts -- again, the decision is to trash it and buy a new machine. In case I was too subtle in my comments, I WILL NEVER BUY A WHIRLPOOL PRODUCT AGAIN. Im too frustrated to tell you about my KitchenAid fridge. As much as I detest it, I am forced to join the buy and trash 5 year club . Sometimes the good old days were really better.

We have had this washing machine almost 1 year and the small problems have grown enormous. In addition to the constant soap residue left on the dark clothes (my guess is its on the light clothes too, but you just cant see it) the washer goes out of balance frequently (they are replacing the suspension, after they said its all working great). The repair man said Im not loading the clothes properly, I need to roll each item of clothing into a ball and then place it in the washer. Are you kidding me, my new machine has special needs? And dont put in too large of loads. What!!! Its an XL capacity but I cant do an extra large load, because half the clothes wont get wet or clean. Maytag blew it big time with these models, I could talk about the dryer too. Maybe next time.

Of course, Im outside the one-year warranty, but judging from the other reviews on this site, that doesnt really matter. A $500 dishwasher should last more than 17 months! Shortly after having this appliance custom wired and installed into the kitchen cabinets above our gas range, we found that the microwave no longer worked. The window where the digital clock shows the time instead Showed SE. I hit the clear button and the microwave once again worked. This happened again on many occasions and the clear button corrected this malfunction. Now this has happened once again but nothing Ive attempted clears the System Error or reboots the microwaves brain. Ive contacted many appliance repairmen but as soon as I mention Maytag they inform me not to repair the microwave as it costs more to repair than to replace. Ive attempted to purchase a new circuit board and repair it myself but no one has the part available. This appliance was purchased in April, 2009. Can anyone recommend a Microwave Brand as a replacement for this disappointment?

We purchased a Maytag refrigerator (MBF2258XEW) less than 6 weeks ago, and the compressor has already failed! Its not good, but the reason I am writing is their customer service (or lack of it)! We were told that it would take 3 weeks to get the replacement part, which was only 45 days old. Home Depot, where I had bought it, has been great; and they pushed Maytag/Whirlpool to agree to replace it. But Home Depot cannot not get us a new one until the paperwork comes from Maytag. We were told by their customer service that it would take 4 working days just to process the paperwork! Thats working days, and this is a Friday! So now, theyve all left for the weekend, and I still have no refrigerator and no idea when I will get one! They said no to getting the part faster, no to speeding up the paperwork, no to me returning it and getting a refund, and no to providing me with a rental. I bought this dishwasher from Sears on Tuesday July 15, 2014. It was delivered on Friday July 18, 2014. On Friday July 25, 2014 two plastic clips that hold the top rack on broke, and one whole side of the top rack fell down. I called the 1-800 # in the book. Then I called the repairman they recommended. He came out on the Monday July 28, 2014. By the time he got here, the clip on the other side broke. Now the rack was hanging by one plastic clip. While waiting for these parts, the last clip broke and the rack was completely detached. So he received the parts on Friday Aug. 1, 2014. When he arrived, lo and behold, they sent the wrong parts. He had the side tracks that hold the rack, not the cheap plastic clips that attach it to the racks. So I have had my new dishwasher 14 days, and have been able to use it a total of 4 times before it failed. I am now awaiting the new parts. The parts that broke are made from a cheap thin plastic, and this is expected to hold up the entire top rack and the dishes its holding.

My original Maytag washer lasted over 25 years (still using dryer purchased
My original Maytag washer lasted over 25 years (still using dryer purchased in 1977). But the Maytag model SAV 4655AWW I bought a few years ago is a piece of junk! Not long after it was out of warranty, it started making noise. Not overly loud, but noisy. Since then, though it makes such a loud noise, you can hear it 3 rooms away. It leaks water from the seals, shakes and vibrates all over the place (even when level). The rocking appears to be due to pathetic self-leveling legs they put on the back of the washer. I had to put a 2x4 on the back side of the washer to keep it stable. That took care of the rocking, but still noisy, leaking water and now it gets off balance when spinning and stops. It also wont start sometimes and you can smell it overheating. The transmission is now going out of it. This thing has been one issue after another. What is worse about it is I saw in another forum that this washer wasnt even made by Maytag. Supposedly Maytag bought? After the purchase, they just put their name on it. I bought a Maytag because of the dependability of their previous products, so Im thoroughly disappointed in their company and products. If I had wanted a washer built by some other company, I would have purchased it versus theirs. If you purchase a Maytag, you expect to get a product designed and built by them. Ill never buy another Maytag product and Ill thoroughly research the product Ill buy to replace this hunk of junk. My advice would be dont waste your money on Maytag.

Purchased a Maytag bravo washer model #MVWX500XLO 2yrs and 6 months ago April 28/2011. In Dec. 2013, I heard a loud clanking sound and was shocked. I thought that some coins were lodged somewhere.... not the case. I put up with the clanking until after Xmas.... Finally I called a licensed technician (in business more than 20 yrs). He immediately identified the problem.... THE TRANSMISSION was shot. Wow what a shock! 65.00 dollars house call to give me the news. I phoned head office to no avail. The office said that it is not covered and that the part would be in the neighborhood of 350.00 $ and probably the installation around $160.00. I am still in shock. We paid around $750.00 for the unit. The technician said that it is one of the worst machines he has ever worked on. I am now talking with Home Depot to see if they can get some compensation on the unit (speaking with the rep). Will I buy another Maytag (by the way) made by Whirlpool... I guess not.

I purchased this washer in 2010. It has broken 4 times since purchase for the same reason. I was told by the appliance repairperson (which Maytag referred me to last time it broke on 03-11-11) that the manufacturer does not replace the machine until after it has broken down a 4th time. Now, the warranty has expired (in 09-11), and it has broken down again for the same problem - water wont fill. Sherry at call center informed me my machine does not qualify for replacement. Then, she would not give me a number or contact info for corporate office so I could forward my complaint. This machine is only slightly over a year old. I have had nothing but problems with it. I want a new machine, or at least unlimited repairs for the recurring problem. And I should not have to pay for a warranty that costs almost as much as the machine itself when Ive already paid for the machine, and at least an equal amount to the cost of the washer in repair bills just to keep this lemon on the road. I want a number and a name for someone that will listen. I may be part of the shrinking middle class, but I am a customer, and I should be treated right. Please help me.

I bought a Maytag dishwasher Model MDB7749SBW3 from Home Depot 6/2014 and by December 2015, the touch panel was going crazy! Ive read a lot of reviews and this seems to be common for Maytags. It would cost me almost as much to have this machine repaired, with a service call and the cost of a new panel, as it did when I bought it. When talking to an appliance repairman, he informed me that Maytag and most all the major brands are now owned by Whirlpool and that they are basically junk--not meant to last more then 1-3 years! Where are the recalls and how do we get a recall started?

Maytag 7000 series front loaders bought in 2013 on basis of high ratings from Consumer Reports. Also durable and look good in the process. Had for 3 years. Machines highly rated by Consumer Reports and bought on sale. They were a very good value. Both W & D have steam feature but find Ive rarely used it. Durability is key, as is the ability to balance wide variety of loads, which our machines do well. Capacity of 5 cu ft or better sufficient for a household of 2. Maytag reputation for durability and reliability and made in US, though a clone of Whirlpool. These are big, heavy machines, best for side by side but they can be stacked. The units are quiet, have more features than weve ever used and so far have been reliable, gentle on clothes incl delicates and drum bearings really help with keeping loads balanced. Door hinges built like a tank but the chassis theyre attached to arent up to par. W & D have stainless drums. Washer is resistant to mold & odors but dryer lint system convoluted in design and hard to clean out.

Maytag Bravos 300 Quiet series - Ive owned this washer for about three years. On average, I do 2-3 loads of laundry per week. I follow the loading directions, but still have to babysit the machine because of uneven load issues better than 50% of the time. Many times, clothes come out full of lint, even after running the clean washer cycle. This is the worst washer I have ever owned. Ive had better results from second-hand machines.I havent bothered to contact Maytag because Ive had it so long. Im almost to the point of getting rid of it and buying one that gets my clothes clean and isnt inclined to push the clothes all to one side and put the machine off-balance. To say Im disappointed in the product would be an understatement, especially since I paid $800 for it.

The frontload washer 4000 series began making a very loud noise on spin. I called Maytag and requested service. The technician came and made a diagnostic evaluation, stating this has been a bearing defect affecting several of these models. I called Maytag, and the representative agreed to ship the parts at no charge. A week later, we received the parts, only for the technician to find one of the parts damaged in shipping perhaps. So another part was sent directly to the Maytag dealer. Upon my research, this appears to be a known issue with the Maytag/Whirlpool corporation, and I found where customers had requested Maytag to also be responsible for the service/labor costs, which were also covered by Maytag. I made the call today and was advised no and to be happy that Maytag paid for the parts due to a known defect and that no service or labor charges would be covered. I understand my machine is out of warranty, but this is a known defect; its nothing caused by my self.

We purchased our Maytag Bravo XL in 2012. Over the past year and a half we noticed the inside of the top lid is rusting as well as the bleach dispenser area. I called Maytag about the lid and they said there was nothing they can do and that we could buy a new lid replacement. Really??? My parents had only Maytag in their home for over 50 years with little to no repairs needed ever! We were a family of five back then. Because my parents always bought Maytag products so did we. This is the first time in 40 years that I have ever seen this happen! I was hoping for a recall for these issues but dont find any online. The washer and dryer were not cheap and purchased from a reputable retailer.

If I could give this a 0-Star rating, I would! I cant believe Maytag would make such an awful washing machine! Within the first 2 weeks I called their service department because (in my opinion) the washer wasnt washing properly. It took over a month and several calls to get someone out to look at the washer & dryer. According to the technician, both machines were operating properly. Apparently the washer is designed to destroy clothing and bedding! The gentle cycle set on deep fill will add just enough water to get the clothing wet, then agitates for about 10 minutes, then it fills up, agitates for 3 more minutes and drains. During the 10 minute dry-run, I watch my clothes get destroyed! I have never seen anything like this! My sweaters are shredded, my tops are pilled up & in a garment bag this thing managed to destroy a sports bra! This machine has ripped my mattress cover in several places and pulled my sheets from excessive rubbing due to not enough water. And what is up with the slow fill? The technician informed me that the trickling water is also normal. If I could return this washer, I would! I will never buy another Maytag because my Bravos washer died after only 4 years, and this one is brutal!

I bought my Maytag dishwasher MDB7749SBM0 three years ago. After it was in one month it already needed a service call. It needed a control panel. Out of the dishwasher 4 weeks because this happened over Thanksgiving. Two months later it stopped working and needed another service call. Technician was inexperienced and another one had to be called. Out of the dishwasher 3 weeks. At this time, and because of the expense of the machine, I purchased an extended warranty. This was control panel number two. Not long after, the heating element had to be replaced. Two weeks without the dishwasher. Now, my dishwasher stopped working again and it needs a new control panel. The technician is rude but did offer the information that the moisture ruins the control panels. IT IS A DISHWASHER!!! IT USES WATER!!! I only run the dishwasher twice per week so I cant imagine how poorly it would hold up if it was run more often. I am on my third week without the dishwasher because the part is on back-order! No one can tell us when it will be in. I bought a Maytag because I thought they had the appliance market under control. MY MISTAKE! I am very angry.

When purchasing new, sales person highly recommended Maytag products. Maytag Dishwasher MDB7749SBW3 - This had the SS tub that my wife was looking for. Now only 19 months later it has completely stopped working. A few weeks ago the lights on the control panel would randomly come on or not align with the wash option that was chosen. This lasted a short time, and then lights on the panel would stay on, and not allow you to choose any options. I reset our breaker and this alleviated the problem for another week or so. Then it stopped working all together. A quick Google search and it was obvious Maytag has a MAJOR and KNOWN issue with this model. The ribbon going into the faceplate/ control board sits directly behind the port that exhausts the steam. This ribbon over time becomes corroded and eventually malfunctions. I called customer support. They were completely unwilling to acknowledge the problem and also unwilling to help in any way. They offered to sell me an extended warranty @ $329.00 that would cover the service call and repair. Very unhappy that their product has an obvious defect/ flaw and they are completely unwilling to acknowledge/ or stand behind their product. We are a family of (3) and run this dishwasher about once every 5-10 days. Unbelievable they find a fail rate within a year and half with light use acceptable!

I purchased Maytag dishwasher (model # MDBH979AWW3) in June of 2010. Trouble started on washer after 18 months. Touch pad buttons dont all seem to be working. Occasionally gets to run after slamming door multiple times, but dispenser doesnt function properly. After trying to diagnose myself with door switches, connectors, etc., I caved in and called service. Service quoted $470 parts and labor to fix the problems, including control touch panel, dispenser, and control board (seems common from what I read here). Wish I had seen this string of posts before I called Maytag/Whirlpool customer service to see if they would help before I did any repairs. The responses I got from the service rep were rigid and scripted. Only time she varied from the script was to explain that modern high-efficiency appliances dont tend to last as long as ones 20 years ago. 18 months? Really? I might buy that if it was a mechanical durability design issue. Supervisors responses were also scripted, pointing back to the 12-month warranty. She said she did a warranty search on my model and that there was no warranty concern for this problem (really?). If there was, she might be able to help me. I guess there is no warranty history because most failures are between 12-24 months and the consumer has to pay for replacement outside of warranty. No semblance of customer service or customer care, just repeating what is on their website. Response was: I am sorry you are dissatisfied with the product and my response, but there is nothing I am authorized do. Sent an email to Maytag customer service regarding the problem and customer service interaction. They called back saying they stand by the original customer reps response, but offered to have someone else come out to give a second opinion on the problem. From what I read here, that doesnt seem necessary. Wish Maytag/Whirlpool would at least acknowledge that there is a problem, even the auto industry seems to have figured out a way to equip the service industry with known recurring problem history (TSB) and offer token help to keep customer loyalty. Apparently another quality organization fallen victim to short-sighted methods of maintaining shareholder value.

Maytag will not do anything about it! This goes to show you that paying top dollar for a washer does not guarantee you will have a good product. In this economy we can’t afford for this to happen. Hello, I bought the above top load Maytag washer last summer and shortly after purchase the spin cycle was accompanied by a load grinding noise. This became progressively worse per use and I contacted Maytag Canada. The experience calling is a challenge with often busy, and at times long waits. When I did get through on the line they were very good customer-service-wise and arranged for a local accredited company to attend my home and assess the problem. Service visit number one resulted in the lack of parts to fix, so I waited two weeks for the next visit with appropriate parts. Washer began to grind again, I called Maytag, another appointment was set, service call #2 again resulted in the SAME parts being replaced as service #1, and upon departure the washer immediately resumed grinding. Call #3 to Maytag and a 4th visit was scheduled to my home. This time with a different service provider, parts changed washer not fixed. Maytag called and this time I asked for replacement. Three weeks later I received a new washer. The version was updated so the drain hose no longer reached my drain pipe. Once sorted out, my first wash today with the new unit and GGGRRRIIINNDDDING.. I would not recommend this product. Will be calling Maytag again Monday.

Below is the message I submitted to Maytag on 5/6/2016 at 10:00 a.m. ET and just received an answer via phone call today 5/9/2016 at 3:30 p.m. ET that Maytag will be doing nothing. Also, my husband has still not received a call about the drum seal and when Maytag can come fix this part that broke in their machine only months after purchase. I will let you read my message to Maytag and you may decide if you would like to buy their dryer after reading what I sent and knowing they will be doing nothing. (Washer works just fine). If this message could be passed onto customer retention and/or management, I would greatly appreciate that action being taken. My husband, and I purchased a Maytag Washer and Dryer Set from Lowes in (Listed Location) on (Listed Date) (Model Number: MGDC555DW2 and Serial Number: **). The dryers drum seal has already gone bad on one side. We had a Maytag servicer come to our home on Monday, May 2, 2016 to confirm this and said he needed to order parts and we would hear back from him on my husbands cell number in a few days, which we still have not received contact. Additionally, due to the drum seal going bad, a whole load of laundry has extreme tears in the material to the point of being ruined. I have pictures of the clothes/sheets and drum seal, however there is not a location on this contact form to upload them. I have three work shirts, worth around $30.00 each and new bed sheets just bought in the amount of $77.39 which have full threads pulled through them due to the dryer going bad in only four and a half months of normal usage. I am writing to request compensation for my items that are now unwearable/unusable and would be glad to provide pictures and receipts for price of items. We of course have not used the dryer since, which has been a huge inconvenience, especially with no update in knowing when the dryer will be fixed and reusable. Please contact me back in regards to my request. Thank you.

It seems to be a broken record with other reviews. I had a 2 year old microwave and the door doesnt recognize that its closed. Which means it wont turn on when I close the door. So you have to open and close it maybe 30-50 times and sometimes it works. I call Maytag who schedules a company but doesnt disclose anything about the warranty or service cost. I was thinking it would be a nominal fee since it falls under a 10 year warranty. The company calls and confirms the cost and I recheck with Maytag who said that the warranty only covers parts. So I buy a $300 microwave and have to pay $160 for a service visit because your company made inferior parts. Absolute sham of a company. Buyer Beware...

We bought a new dishwasher 2 years ago. Top of the line Maytag Model #MDB8959SBW3 $749 plus tax. We bought this one because they told us what a great 10 year warranty it had. Found out that is a lie. The only thing the 10 year warranty covers is the stainless steel tub, the racks and chopper blade. The stop button on the control panel (circuit board) quit working and the dishwasher wouldnt start. When I called Maytag they said So sorry. It broke so soon, but that is not covered. We were told by a repair shop that Maytag has had nothing but problems with their control panel and the control panel part alone is $150 plus tax plus installation. Our old Maytag lasted 13 years and was still running great, but needed to be replaced because the racks were rusting out. I wish I would have kept the old one. After using it for a month the machine broke down and it had to have the clutch and gear box replaced. Last week July 2016 the machine broke down again. It was the internal computer (referred to as the electric control unit) a printed circuit board that retails for approximately $300 (A ridiculous price given that much more complicated laptop and tablet computers today can be brought for $100, the circuit board should retail for no more than $40).With labor the repair bill came to $550, which was nearly as much as a new machine and did not justify the cost. Supposedly the electric control is susceptible to current surges and power outages. Given that this is the case, it makes no sense whatsoever that a machine billed as eco-friendly would carry a part that will doom it to the junk pile because of a power surge or outage and does not carry a surge protector. After learning of my experience Maytag called me the next day and offered to sell me a new Maytag at a discount price, which of course I flat-out refused.I would never ever again own a Maytag appliance or one made by its new owner (as of 2005) Whirlpool. With such susceptible electric units these appliances will sooner or later result in electric fires that will end the life of its owners. The US govt needs to protect US citizens from these predatory companies that make over-prized, throwaway products labeled as eco-friendly that are potentially dangerous. My advice for anyone that is thinking of buying a Whirlpool or Maytag washer dont do it. For those that already own these machines do not run them without a heavy duty surge protectors. It is not worth your life.

I bought the Maytag Bravos X washer and dryer combo 4 months ago and its been a hassle every time I use the washer. The dryer is fine, but the washer constantly has problems. No error codes, I just hit start and it clicks intermittently in sensing mode for 10 minutes and shuts off. Once in a while, it decides to work - adding water, but never cleaning thoroughly and I always have to run an extra spin cycle because the clothes are sopping wet once it finishes. Ive been reading reviews all over the internet describing similar issues with these models and I am kicking myself for allowing myself to be convinced Maytag is a quality brand. Dont waste your money on these pieces of junk and really do your homework. I wish I had never bought them and am angry that I will have to deal with it until it eventually breaks down in the very near future, Im sure.

Bravo XL Washer & Dryer - I have owned this set for just over 90 days and have called Maytag several times just to get insulted. The customer service representative is not helpful at all, and tells me that I am not using HE detergent or that I am using too much HE detergent. Furthermore, they tell me that if a service technician comes to my home and nothing is wrong that I will get charged. So much for the extended warranty and what is wrote on the Maytag site. I explain each time that I am using name brand HE detergent and the recommended amount. The soap dispenser in the machine provides a fill line that I fill to. I have even tried using less detergent as recommended by the appliance store that I purchased the machine from, and still the washer does not clean my laundry and leaves residue on everything. I have even tried using the extra rinse, and extra heavy soil setting which does not make a difference at all.The other concern is that the clean washer feature light flashes weekly. I have purchased the cleaning tabs recommended to clean the machine, and run this clean cycle every time the light comes on. The dryer does not work all that well either and shuts off before the laundry is dry. Sometimes the dryer will show an error of airflow restriction or low airflow. This is confusing because the dryer vent and hose are clean, and the lint filter is also clean. This is so disappointing because I thought Maytag had great products. However, as I read other reviews about these machines and the customer service representatives it seems that there is a systemic problem with the machines and the customer service representatives that needs to be addressed by the leadership at Maytag.

Same complaint as most of the others: bought a refrigerator in 2013 and about one month after the 1 year warranty had run out the freezer started leaking water all over the floor and build up is on the bottom of the freezer, making it difficult to pull out the metal drawer. :( We do not have the water even hooked up to the automatic icemaker so have no clue where the water is coming from. Clothes washer has never worked properly from day one, didnt fill up with enough water. Had the repair man here while the warranty was still in effect and he verified that the washer DID not fill with enough water therefore leaving soap and grime on our clothes. :( He had to order an entire new brain and replaced it. Worked for a couple of months better than it ever DID and now back to soapy, grimy, dirty clothes again. Why isnt there a recall on the part that keeps backing up on these bottom freezer Maytag refrigerators? Someone needs to start a class action lawsuit and get these things recalled and replaced. Spent a lot of money on this brand new refrigerator and was so jazzed to get a brand new one for the first time in my life. :( Well that was surly short-lived. Shame on you Maytag, your company has really gone downhill. I would love it if an attorney could start a class action lawsuit with Maytag on their bottom freezers.

Maytag Dryer MED6000XR2 - Purchased in Sept. 2012 - first service call 1/13/14; 2nd service call 2/20/2015 and less than one month on 3/14/15 it goes out again. It takes one week to get service company out and then another week for the part to be ordered and put in. This means I am without a dryer for over 2 weeks. An $1,100 dryer goes out every year and sometimes within one month?! According to the service company, it just is the way this dryer works. Really? If Maytag ever wants my business again, I better get a more justified reason and better than 2 weeks service call. This is absolutely ridiculous.

Purchased Maytag Dishwasher MDB8959SFH4 as part of a kitchen renovation with hardwood floors. Realized that the dishwasher was leaking intermittently. Appeared that the door wouldnt latch properly. Called Whirlpool (parent company). Technician came out to assess the situation - couldnt recreate the problem so suggested replacing door seal. I try to explain to him that in my opinion it wasnt the door seal but a failure to latch because the top rack was not retracting completely on an intermittent basis. He also suggesting replacing the latch. Repair was carried out and same issue arose three days later. I systematically removed one dish at a time and then tried closing the door - after removing about the 6th item the door closed. Called the repair company today and they told me he had just received a recall from Whirlpool - apparently an issue with the tracks not allowing the rack to retract properly - what I have been saying all along. I called Whirlpool but they insisted the notice was sent out some time ago. I called Home Depot where I bought the appliance and they confirmed that they were not aware of this issue. I suggested they should not be selling this dishwasher until Whirlpool remedy the manufacturing defect. I will follow up with Whirlpool to let him know I have spoken with Home Depot and they were not aware of the issue.

We got our Maytag fridge approx.18 months ago. There was no trouble the first year and there has been nothing but trouble for the last five months. The freezer started frosting one day which causes temp to get in danger zone - we defrost it with a hair dryer about every week and it has continued to frost up ever since. We have a friend that works for a certified Maytag repair business. He came to our rescue five times and called Maytag hot line for help.Together, they could only suggest that the gasket be replaced. He could not see anything wrong with it but we changed it just in case. Still, the problem continues. When we called Maytag customer service (877-556-57420), we were told that no one has had the problem before us. We just looked online; there are 521 complaints about Maytag. My question now is, how do we get a class action lawsuit going?

Big mistake. Worst purchase ever!! These high-efficiency washers (Maytag Washer Bravos XL) are the worst especially this one! I wash and wipe down the washer drum more than I was my clothes. I purchased it because it had a huge drum so I can wash my blankets and comforters. This washer leaves soap scum marks/residue on clothes and leaves it on the drum as well. I basically have to wash my clothes twice once with soap and then run again with just wash and rinse without soap, you tell me how efficient is that! Why not make a washer that put more water so the clothes can get washed properly. Dont worry about my water and electric bill. MAKE A WASHER THAT WORKS!I called customer service she asked me if I use the deep water, now you tell me why am I going to use the deep water, if that is the only way the washer is going to clean the clothes then do NOT give me 11 other options the washer to use. ONLY HAVE DEEP WASH OPTION. I dont care about the bells and whistles, I do not need a different tune when I turn it on and a different tune when its done washing my clothes. Make the washer the way it used to be WASHES CLOTHES WITH WATER AND LOTS OF IT. I will pay my bill not to worry. So I called customer service all they said was they will document my call! Well... like thats going to do me any good while I am stuck with your POS washer!

Before putting clothes in dryer you have to untangle them. Sweaters and even t-shirts become stretched beyond help. Clothes smell like mildew if you leave them in the washer even just a couple of hours. Im 50 and had a few washer/dryers and these take the cake. Ive used the washing machine cleaner/refresher (something I have never done on washers in the past) and still a mildew smell. The dryer has lint on both sides of the lint screen. And as stated before if you dont untangle your clothes they come out in a big knot, partially un-dried & very wrinkled. The lint on both sides of the screen concern me - Ive never had a dryer do that before. Its not much lint on one side but enough to think something is not right.

This washer is no better than a glorified garbage can. Maytag AKA Whirlpool should be ashamed to put their name on this product. Like others before me on this website my washing machine sounds like a jet is taking off in my basement. When I contacted a serviceman, he told me the drum seal is broken and the bearings are shot. I have the machine since April 11, 2011. Not even three years to date! I do not have an extended warranty so shame on me to believe that a 900.00 machine should last well beyond 3 years. Unfortunately, I am getting the run around from Whirlpool as all of you have experienced. This is criminal. Not only are we as consumers being defrauded by irresponsible manufacturing but these huge hunks of metal and plastic are polluting our environment. Our parents had washing machines and dryers for as long as 20 to 25 years and they actually cleaned clothes. We now have high efficiency machines that destroy our clothing and leave them dirty and wrinkled. They are now made to break in 5 years and from what I see on this website the average for breakdown is becoming 3 years. Do you think that this is not by design? The service call turns out to be more than the value of the machine, so the repairman doesnt even profit as consumers refrain from costly repair and repurchase. The only profitability is gained by the manufacturers that keep pushing out junk to the consumer. These manufacturers should be accountable like the American auto-manufacturers became accountable for the junk they manufactured at the expense of a whole city, Detroit.

My husband and I purchased both a Maytag washer MVWX655DW1 and dryer MEDX655DW1 less than 3 years ago from Sears. We had both the washer and dryer professionally installed. Yesterday, we had an authorized service man come in and look at the problems we were having. He told us our Maytag washer would need a new gear case and gears costing $750.Our Dryer, same age, needed a new cycling thermostat. He said it was due to not cleaning out the lint trap. My husband and clean the lint trap after every load religiously. He said there was a pile of lint built up in the dryer. I could only think this would be a design flaw. To repair the dryer it would cost $350. The grand total to repair our Maytag Washer and Dryers would be $1100. We paid $1082.38 at Sears for both. The only thing Maytag offered to cover was a part for the washer which would cost $640 and we would need to pay the extra $110 for service in addition the $150 diagnostic charge, due to use being out of our one year warranty. We decided to not fix this machine to avoid similar problems in the future. I talked to customer service and asked them to cover the diagnostic charge instead of sending the part, which is far more costly. I got the runaround and 3 rejections before they finally agreed to pay for the diagnostic charge. My husband and I are extremely disappointed in this experience. We currently own a Maytag Microwave and Electric Glass Top Range. We will never buy Maytag again. Our Stove is also lacking. We have the AquaLift cleaning stove. The AquaLift technology does not work.

For the past four or five years, I have had to replace the lock on the door of the washer, which means Im without a washer for a week. Since no one stocks the parts because it is such a joke, some repair places wont even consider repairing a Neptune. Seems like since the company stopped making them because of the problems they have, as a minimum they should replace all Neptune washers that have been sold with a reliable washer, front loading in the same price range. I purchase my Maytag Bravos washer from Sears in May 2011. In February of 2014, I started to get the UL message, meaning unbalanced load. I would re distribute the clothes and sometimes that did the trick and others not so much. Now every load comes up UL. I tried putting the machine on the drain and spin cycle to at least get the clothes a little bit drier but the UL message still appears and the clothes are still soaking wet. I lifted the washer up and there is an oil/grease type spin pattern under the washing machine. I called Maytag today (which is now Whirlpool I guess) as the washer has a 10 year warranty on the drum and motor. I was told a service call is $129. When I mentioned that I had Googled the product and saw many reviews with the same exact problem, she stated the Bravos has no common complaints. From what Ive read, it seems to me it would be more cost effective to go out and buy a new washing machine and it obviously wont be another Maytag or Whirlpool.

I had the old style machine and finally it gave out and I bought an LG HE Large capacity. It was a well I can print it here but kept the machine for 5 years and gave it away. I bought a new Bravo Maytag set 5.2 with the old style agitator thinking I was going to get a great machine and NO. These new machines do not use enough water in the load sensing and clothes on top never get in the water. They come out with soap stains even with a double rinse. And no I am not using too much soap! My old machine had small medium and large load settings plus you could add more water if needed. Way better machine. The techs are trained to tell you this is how the machines work and there is nothing wrong with them. Finally an honest tech told me they are having all sorts of complaints and problems. If all you wash is bedding and dress clothes you get by but if you really have soiled clothes you have to do a lot of prep and then stop in the middle of the wash cycle and rotate your clothes manually! Total BS for 8-900 dollar machines. Do yourself a favor and buy a front load. At least the clothes will get flopped in and out of the water and hopefully rotate so they actually get clean. That is what I am going to try before I go back to the old scrub board and tub!

Called the repair man and they told me the bearing and spin basket needed replaced. I had always had Kenmores with very little issues and they lasted for 12 years plus each. I get the HE model from Maytag and cant even go 3 1/2 years without some major issue. I called Maytag (Whirlpool) to complain and they said there wasnt anything they could do. I reminded them that I had checked for recalls on this model and looked into some of the complaints about this washer and that there were many of the same issues that I had plus many others. I felt like there should have been a recall on the bearing since they are going out too soon for this kind of a washer. My wife and I bought the Maytag Bravos XL Washer and Dryer Set from Lowes in August of 2015. It came with a stated 10 year warranty, but started having problems early in the 4th year. The washing machine direct drive motor has become very noisy which is a preliminary sign of direct drive motor failure. The dryer now heading into its 5th year has a a burnt smell, and we do not use it due to it being a fire hazard. Our previous washer and dryer set had lasted from 1998 until 2014 when we purchased this set. We paid over $1100.00 for this set. There is no way that we WILL EVER PURCHASE OR RECOMMEND a Maytag washing machine or dryer. They used to be excellent to good appliances the lasted a long time; however, that is not the case at the present. This is absolute the worst washer and dryer set I have ever owned. The quality of build and longevity is suspect. It is obvious that it is engineered to be a constant replacement item instead of one of quality and longevity. We will more and likely purchase a GE washer and dryer set. The Maytag Bravos XL Washing Machine balled up my dress shirts and left wrinkles that the dryer was incapable of removing. I am aware of the issues with Samsung and LG washing machine and dryers when a problem arises. Whirlpool and Maytag are the same company. Maytag used to be synonymous with quality. That is not the case. Buyer beware. Do your research and do no rely solely on the salesperson at the store that you are seeking inquiry before purchasing. We went The Home Depot and received honest customer reviews about serious issues with the Maytag Bravos XL Washing machine and dryer sets. This set was highly recommended when we purchased them new at Lowes in 2015. I am also considering the Speed Queen Commercial Washer and Dryer sets that are available for consumers. This set makes the laundromat owners happy. Never again will we purchase a Maytag Bravos XL Washing Machine and Dryer set!! We learned a very expensive lesson!!

I own a 2004 Neptune front end washer that Ive dealt with the terrible smell of stagnant water since I got it. Now the motor went and I was told I need a new washer even though the product warranty information clearly states the motor is covered for up to 10 years. The repairman told us that the motor thats in my machine is no longer being manufactured. How is that my fault? I do not have another $800.00 for a new one, which is now not even a lot of money for a washer. Ive already bought 2 washers since I built my home 14 years ago. Its just not right!
