I bought a Maytag Bravos top loader washer and dryer less than 2 years ago. I started having problems with my dryer 3 months ago and after several service calls (and a few hundred dollars), it still does not dry our clothes. I spent over $1500 for the pair and was excited to have a top end washer and dryer. My biggest complaint is with the manufacturer, Maytag - they just dont seem to care. I did not buy the extended warranty for two reasons. First, I bought a nice unit and expect it to work properly for a reasonable amount of time (at least 4-5 years without any problems). Second, they are just a bad purchase and they cost about half of the unit and if you buy a nice unit, you shouldnt need one. I could have bought a new dryer for what I spent to try and have this one work properly. My wife and I spent $600 for our last set which lasted 7 years without a problem; they were manufactured by GE, which I now wish I would have bought another GE. My wife talked me into buying a new pair to accommodate the needs of our growing family. I wished I would have kept the GE pair that was working.I would not recommend any Maytag appliance: they really just dont care to provide any reasonable service to stand behind their products. What a shame. This reminds me of why many foreign manufacturers are beating us at what we used to do best - make products that last and work! The washer and dryer look nice and have many great features, but these dont matter much if they dont work.

I bought a new refrigerator and when I plugged it in would not cool. I called and the authorized tech came and said the compressor was bad and the evaporator was rusted and hoses were greased up. I have now been informed that the warranty was void because it was put in a dental office and not a single home. I said since it was never used I would put it in a house. They said it was void and I was out of luck. I always thought maytag sold good products but this has convinced me to never buy a product from them again. It never worked and the tech said it should be replaced but they said he should never had told us this.

Have owned Maytags (washer and dryers) for 40 years. I bought a Bravos top load washer and matching dryer because we gave our old set to a daughter leaving for college. That was less than four years ago! We bought this because it conserved water and there would only be my husband and myself home. So laundry needs would be minimal. The washer quit draining and starting making a terrible noise several days ago. Immediately called repair service - I knew from the onset this was going to be a big problem because when I told them the model, they responded - uh oh! Two days later service man comes to assess repair and lifts machine up and tells me bad seal has leaked to gear box and ruined it. Soooo for a machine that is less than 4 years old, I will have to pay $280 for part, $79 for service call, $60 for labor and $35 to have them pick it up and redeliver (because the repair is too big to be made in my home). $454 for a machine that gets minimal use!!!! I can add another $100 plus and buy a brand new machine. Why should I have to??? In doing some research, I found out this is a common issue with this model and Maytag has paid for the repair of other washers because it is a common problem. Even the serviceman said that and recommended I get a hold of Maytag. Their response - sorry mam you dont gave an extended warranty. (NOW I HAVE A LEMON!) Guess my next step is to write a letter to Maytag Corporate Office. I will keep going up the ladder until they address this flawed machine problem! One thing is for certain - I will never ever buy another Maytag product of any kind or will I ever recommend it. They are just not reliable. Guess, nowadays they are considered throw away products - keep them a few years and throw them away because its not worth your money and effort to repair them :-(

Because it is the high efficiency model, need to leave the lid open so interior will dry and not smell musty. Also, recommend using a washer cleaner such as Affresh or Tide tablet every now and then. But works great!

Maytag centennial washing machine - I am pretty good as a mechanic or this machine would sit unused. Purchased in 2/15 at lowes. Poor installation. Then the machine... I hooked it up properly and ran it with extra load setting to see the machine develop a life all its own. The sheet metal breathed in and out like the chest of an old man running uphill. Lower exit hose not properly installed leaked on floor so I put on a new adjustable clip. Machine can only handle small loads. While it does wash clothes (it is a washing machine!) it requires close supervision in size of load. The machine needs a plumbing bang pressure gauge or you are likely to blow out your water pipes. It sounds like there are a bunch of people walking the machine with ball peen hammers. Who cares, but they were made in America and moved to Mexico. They should need visas to get back in. Absolute junk.

An average refrigerator/freezer at best. I would not recommend it unless you also buy a service agreement to fix things that go wrong with it. Ice maker went out.

CHRISTMAS morning Set oven to 325 for ham. Control board caught fire and burnt wires and burnt inside of rear cover. It got hot enough to char the wood wall behind stove. This could have killed my family on CHRISTMAS.

My fiancee and I purchased a Maytag washing machine from our local Sears. We got it home and it worked fine, but after the first month it wasnt switching over from cycle to cycle. We called Sears and they stated that they didnt provide service to the washing machines, so we would have to call Maytag. We called Maytag and they sent servicemen from B & B Appliance to our home. We were told that they needed to order a piece and would be back at another time to fix the washing machine. They came back and said it was fixed. I went to start a load of laundry the following morning and the basement flooded. The hose had become dislodged when they were working on it. To add insult to injury, the washing machine was still broken. I called Maytag to request a different service company come to our home. Maytag said that they couldnt send a different company. They also couldnt replace our still broken washing machine and they could not accept a return. At this point we are out an almost $800 for the washing machine, over $5000 (which we have submitted to insurance) for the damage to our home, and almost $600 for a WORKING washing machine that was a different brand. We will never use Maytag ever again.

Maytag top load washer. I dont understand why Maytag would make such a piece of crap. It takes so long to wash, that I can only wash a couple of loads a day. It doesnt fill. It doesnt get the clothes clean. My electric bill is higher. Its so noisy too. Never thought Maytag would make such garbage.

This washer stops every 10 minutes, sometimes taking 3 to 4 hours to complete one spin cycle if it is completed at all. All troubles began shortly after warranty expired. NEVER EVER will I ever buy Maytag again. I make certain that I tell everyone I come in contact with about the pathetic quality of Maytag.

We are a family of three. We purchased our Washer and Dryer New, November 2011 at Lowes, in Lindale TX. I am disabled. I have had several spine surgeries and getting ready for another. I was injured at work and it left me crippled. I do not receive any benefits from my County Employer. My wife is a schoolteacher. We live on a limited income after my accident. We purchased this set with utmost confidence, our last set was twenty years old. We updated due to water, electric, and the environment. Our Maytags we had were still usable, it was just time for their retirement. They were hand me downs washer and dryer set. Truly! I dont know how old they were. When our washer started having troubles, it was making a horrible noise. We called Hughes Appliance. Theyre an authorized Maytag Repair Service Warranty Center. They sent Mark out we used them before. He stated the motor was not loctited from the factory. It worked its way loose almost coming completely off. This cost me a $85 service call. Mark also stated that the Tub Bearings were going out because off this. He called Maytag Customer Service and Dealer Warranty Service, said they wouldnt pay for the repairs or even the Service call for their factorys snotty WorkmanShip. I tried calling myself and got absolutely nowhere. I was polite, courteous and nice and they still Said, Sorry, We Know its less than three years old but thats the way it is. Sorry Sir! Have Nice Day! Its going to cost $389 to replace the tub bearings in top load washer. The washer only cost about 750 less than three years ago. Its the most expensive clothes washer Ive ever owned. One thing! If they dont make things right, I promise I will never own a Maytag again! And when I am in a store and see someone looking at their product I will make a point to tell them my situation and about my Maytag Washer. One thing is certain I can make sure young customer dont buy the wrong appliances while I sit patiently in my wheelchair waiting on my wife. Thanks Maytag! Its not What You Did For Me! I bought this washer (Maytag HE) almost a year ago, and if I could redo my choice, I would not choose this machine. There is no separate spin cycle. Often items are left with quite a bit of water in at the end of the wash cycle (often literally dripping as you transfer to the dryer), and you cant just rearrange them in the washer and then spin again. The only option on the washer is to both rinse and spin, which almost never helps get out more water. So you then have a heavy load in the dryer, much longer dryer time, and higher utility bills to get some loads dry, especially bath towels, sheets, jeans, etc. The washer is large capacity, but if you fill it more than 1/2 to 2/3 full (depending on the heaviness of your items) the spin cycle definitely will not get nearly enough water out of the clothes. The lid on the washer is SLOPED!The most ridiculous design I have ever seen for a washer, everything you set on top, even for a moment - laundry detergent, folded clothes, wet clothes - ends up on the floor. And the lack of agitator means at the end of the cycle, some loads that contain a sheet or any large flat item (tablecloth, etc.) the rest of the items are captured below the larger flat item that is over them like a mushroom cap. You cant tell how long the items have been like that in the washer, but its hard to imagine they are getting properly cleaned and rinsed. You absolutely cannot use powder stain removers, especially OxiClean, unless you are using the oxi cycle (much longer than regular cycle) because with any other cycle you will have white cloudy patches on all your clothes and items where the powder dissolved in the water but did not rinse out. You have to manually scrub them out, as putting these items through another wash cycle does not remove all the spots.

Constantly does not clean clothes, always out of balance, codes constantly come up, only 2 1/2 years old and already rusting out. No matter what you do this washer does not want to work. Has special cycles for bulky loads but try to wash 7 towels and it will dance all over floor then shut down with an unbalanced code and you have to unplug to reset then wash towels again but not use spin and have to wring out towels by hand. I cannot believe the Maytag company has not recalled this very expensive pile of junk, and their service department is very rude and not helpful at all.Also as soon as you call an appliance repair company and tell them its a Maytag Bravos they say we do not fix those, do yourself a favor and junk it and buy any other brand. I have 3 kids now grown so we have bought about 5 washers over the years and when we saw that this was supposed to save water and energy and do bigger loads we were sold. Big mistake! Whatever you do never buy any appliance from Maytag. Products are garbage, service is nonexistent, and the cost will make you boil.

We purchased the washer and dryer set from Lowes about 5 years ago, and purchased the extended warranty fortunately for us. We had good luck with the washer for about 6 months, then we had to call problem service out because the washer filled with water but wouldnt do anything else. It took several days for the service people to come out and when they did, they had to order parts to do the repair, so we did not have a washer for a few days or a week. They got the washer fixed and everything was good for a few months, then our dryer quit working. We were told that the tub of the dryer had come off, so they had to order another one. So we were again without a dryer. Once they got the parts in the repair company that was sent out to fix our dryer, did not fix the dryer correctly so we had to call Lowes repair service to send someone out again. We have owned this set for over 4 years and once again our dyer has gone out. During all of this time, I and my Brother had to leave our job in order to be home and meet the maintenance people to fix both washer and dryer. I would not recommend this set to anyone, this is one of the worst sets that I have owned. I thought Maytag was a brand that you never had problems with, but we have had nothing but problems with this set.

I purchased the top model Maytag dishwasher, and within four uses, I noticed major water damage to the side of my cabinetry. I pulled out the dishwasher and realized it was coming from the side unit where water enters the tub. These things happen, and I phoned their customer service department expecting this unit to simply be replaced, being that it was less than a week old, and that I would have been left a satisfied customer. They were willing to send a technician over to try to fix the problem, but not replace it. I now have to replace my cabinets, and maybe even my granite as it may be damaged in the removal process. I am not asking them to fix that even though the damage was caused by their dishwasher, but a new dishwasher, I did expect them to cover. Their customer service stinks, and I suggest to anyone that if you have any problems with a new unit, the best thing to do is return it to where you bought it. Im sure they will gladly give you a new unit and send the bad one back to Maytag. Dealing with Maytags customer service is the worst thing you can do. They do everything in their power to not replace it. Instead, theyd rather lose a customer for life. Whats sad for them is that Im a builder, and I usually build approximately three houses per year. Thats a lot of units theyve lost sales on over a simple replacement of a dishwasher. Its not a good way to do business. The bottom line is, stay away from Maytag.

Here recently I got a bravos washer x series because it suppose to cut down water usage. Well that it did. Now going on 7 months of having it now its starting to act up like when the cycle is done it will lock again and repeat the cycle all over. I use the normal or powerwash cycle and here recently how its suppose to sense the load and then start spraying the clothes with water and detergent. Well not here. Lately it still senses and spins and then starts filling up like its on the bulky/sheet cycle but its on normal cycle and it doesnt fill all the way up - just 4 or 5 inches of water. So I dont know what is up with this piece of crap and why its acting this way. Other times it will work fine on the normal and the other cycles but now its just acting all crazy.

Maytag microwave MMV4205BAB - I purchased this microwave in 2007. By 2009, the whole inside was peeling down to the metal. Under the glass plate, the bottom is all rusted. Ive called customer service every year since 2009 and they say the same thing. No extended warranty, nothing they can do. They acknowledged that this was not normal, but they did nothing! Do not buy anything from Maytag. If you do, buy all of the expensive warranties or you will be sorry like I am.

A washer should last 10 years. Bought it in 2009 - after two years we spent $200+ on seal and bearings. Now, in 2014 we need more seal and bearings and the service tech recommended by Maytag says the cost will be $500+. Machine has a serious design flaw, and bad parts, and bad service.

In 2007, we bought a Maytag Neptune Washer Dryer Combo from Lowes. By 2008, the washer started stopping operation at every rinse setting, requiring someone to constantly monitor the machine to assure that the button was pushed to fulfill the entire cycle. We called a repair company and were told that the machine was shutting down because the screen in the water intake was getting clogged with debris and was making the machine feel that the water was shutting off. Thus, according to the repair man, the machine was shutting itself off. He showed me how to clean the screens in the intake line and charged me about $150 for the service call. Within a week the machine was doing the same thing again. I pulled out the screens and they were clean. We continued to watch over the washer whenever it was doing the wash and continued to push the button to restart the machine. We live in a very rural area and there are really no repair services available without paying enormous fees just to get them to make a call and the wait is often more than a week.Shortly after the intake incomplete cycle problem, the washing machine stopped getting the water out of the clothes in the spin cycle, forcing us to wring out the clothes before putting them in the dryer. Then we noticed that the washer was leaking from the bottom rear all over our hardwood flooring. We went out and bought a new washer dryer based on reading consumer reports.The cost to replace this piece of crap from Maytag was in excess of $1600. We are only in this house part of the year so this Maytag product not only did not work very well over the short time that we owned it, but it was only being used for a few months out of the year. We have since learned that there was a class action suit over this product line and would like to know how to join the suit. We are so far out in the woods that we will not get our new washer / dryer until some 2 weeks out from our purchase. We have spent nearly $3,000 since 2008 on washer dryers, an average of $1,000 a year.

I purchased a new washer and dryer from Lowes a few months ago. I had my former washer and dryer for nearly 20 years and although the dryer started to have some issues, the washer worked wonderfully. To have a matching set, I decided to purchase both a new washer and dryer. I was told the Maytag Bravos XL model was the top of the line and could handle large loads. After just a few washes I realized this machine does not add enough water to get the top clothes wet and there is no agitator to pull the clothes into the water. I returned to Lowes and was told to use the deep water wash. I tried that and still had clothes coming out from the wash still dry and dirty. Unfortunately Lowes would not take the machines back and I was told to call Maytag. Maytag said there was nothing they could do except send out a technician for a service fee of $98 to help me determine if the machine is functioning correctly. I could not dislike a washer and dryer more! The dryer catches clothes on one of the screws inside and pulls fabric pieces out. This is in my opinion the worst washer dryer set I could imagine having. I will share my experience with as many people as I can to help others avoid making the costly mistake of purchasing a Maytag product. Maytag does not seem to care they have designed and sold a dysfunctional product!

I purchased a Maytag Bravo xl washer & dryer for $1600 in May 2017. Sunday, the user interface panel went out in the washer. After an $85 diagnostic visit, we were told it would be $500 to repair and take an additional 5 days. My husband is recovering from major knee surgery so I was short on choices. I elected to purchase a new speed queen and will never purchase Maytag again. The 10 yr warranty tag on the front is useless!

Bravos XL - This machine purchased in 2014 at Home Depot service plan, needed major repairs just over a year old. Tech working on this machine replaced the whole tub assy after Maytag want to just do the cheap repair and just do a bearing kit. Reading online all the hundreds and hundreds of the same complains Maytag has done nothing in good faith to replace these junk washers!! My washer is now leaking under the washer less than a year after the last repair!! My good friend purchased the same machine and has had the same issues and his has been down for weeks because the poor service person from Maytag service broke some of the new parts! Now the washer is leaking again. WHAT can be done. This not right!!! Public needs to be warned about these flawed machines and Home Depot is still promoting these Junk machines!!!

Have 2 fridges (one regular and the other is a side-by-side, both were bought in 2006 at Future Shop. The small one is not freezing and the side-by-side ($2,200) is busted too (compressor wont start....). How can Maytag say that their product are reliable on TV??? A Fridges compressor should last at least 15 years !! Maytag, you should at least have the decency to pay for the compressor!

I purchased a very expensive set of Maytag washer & dryer (topload washer) and heavy duty larger capacity. Firstly- I purchased this through Home Depot on Labor Day weekend and did not receive this set until December 2020. This set has all the electronics and Im going to tell you NOT to purchase either one. The dryer MUST have a metal solid vent. This sets your dryer out into the walkway of a laundry room. If you use a heavy flexible metal vent; your sensor will be going off constantly telling you your vent is plugged and to clean it. I had a dryer vent company out twice to clean and inspect the wall & roof vents yielding nothing. I also have a dryer vent cleaner which I hook up to my vacuum and I clean the dryer vent monthly. If you lose power. You will need to unplug your dryer and let it reset to be able to use it.The washer is also terrible for the outrageous price. Again; glass heavy duty top load with all the electronics. You cant get the washer to fill even on deep fill. Also; do NOT put a lot of clothes or jeans or blankets in this machine. It will not be able to level and spin. When you try to use the drain and spin cycle; the sensor keeps going off. I swift the contents around and around and finally end up having to take soaking wet cloths out into the garage until I have one sheet in the machine and it will spin out. In addition- the CLEAN with Afresh mess. This forces you to clean your machine- whether you are in the middle of trying to get clothes drained or not.Buy something thats a simple workhorse with one button. Stay away from any bells and whistles because its only going to cause you heartache in the long run. I wish I would have read reviews prior to spending $1,700 on a Maytag Washer Dryer set (ON SALE- for God sakes). This is the biggest piece of garbage I have ever purchased. Buyer beware.

I have always heard Maytag was one of the best so after replacing too many washers to count in 15 years, like Whirlpool and Kenmore, I decided to spend more for quality. I figured pay a few hundred more once rather than spending $400 for a cheaper one that only lasts 3 or 4 years. That choice seemed environmentally responsible and financially as well. However, I couldnt have been more wrong. In 2016 I purchased the Maytag Centennial top loader for $500. I really loved the size of the tub and the way it looked. I can fit a large comforter in it with plenty of room leftover. I also have no interest in a front loader after reading reviews. So I thought this was going to be great! Well it hasnt been. It has broken 3 times. The circuit board twice and now the bearings are going out in the motor. I fixed it the first two times but now Im done. Im done with Maytag, Aka Whirlpool. I think it will be a Speed Queen for me now. Im hoping it wont be a dud also because they are pricey! It actually scares me to spend that kind of money. I have really lost my faith in most companies nowadays. Customer service and quality has gone out the window. I think about how much this impacts the environment! Its terrible that appliances only last a few years before they end up in the landfill.

I purchased a washer/dryer, Maytag from Home Depot Nashville. It was delivered and set up. 02/24/17 the date of purchase, delivered 03/07/17. I have tried in every way to get the washer to wash properly, but to no avail. The water level doesnt cover the clothes, it takes 10 to 15 minutes for the wash to begin its cycle. It doesnt spin the clothes dry enough to put into the dryer. The washer makes all kinds of sounds thats drives you nuts while setting up to not wash your clothes clean. I have contacted Maytag on several occasion about this problem, they sent out someone to service the washer. Now, why would a brand new washer need servicing. Somethings wrong. It isnt functioning up to standards and they should give me another washer.Now on 05/18/17 the washer was serviced, I have called them again to do something about this piece of **. I was told that the only thing they could do is come service it again. Why, must this brand new washer be serviced every week. It doesnt make sense... I dont want this machine, I want my money back so I can purchase a machine that will wash my clothes properly. I purchased a secondhand washer and dryer from a used appliance store, it lasted my family 10 complete year. The only reason I dont have it now is because I wanted to upgrade, since I have never had a brand new set. What a disappointment. Everything that looks good from Maytag isnt good. I dont understand why they wont stand behind their product.Somethings got to be done about this. Maytag will not take my money 1,200 and force me to keep this malfunctioning piece of nothing. Im going to Youtube this product so the consumer can see how this product doesnt work properly, therefore they wont waste their hard earned money. I will be contacting the BBB Nashville, and wherever I need to. I will let the consumer know the make and model of this product and where it was purchased from. Maytag I want every penny back. And, should hold you responsible for ever time I have had to go to the wash house because my brand new set wont work, and your company wants to service it every time I try to wash. I purchased this appliance on the strength of the well known name, that was the wrong thing to do.

Purchased Maytag dishwasher model MDB7609AWW2 3 yrs ago. Started having problems with it not filling with water after first cycle. After examination determined that the control panel/handle on the top of the door had broken away from its attachment points/screws behind the pane. Every time the door was opened this would allow moisture and steam to infiltrate into the door interior. And guess what, it now needs a new electronic control panel. After seeing all the other reviews, it is safe to say this is not the Maytag of our parents or grandparents.

I have had this washer for a few years now and it is the WORST washing machine ever. I cant even wash a lightweight cotton blanket. It continually unlevels even with me rearranging the blanket over and over. Ill add some, take some out, whatever. It still wont work. The blanket fully wet is also HEAVY and with my arthritis, is very hard to pick up. I dont think enough water goes into the drum to actually clean the clothes either. The clothes at the end of the cycle come out in a weird mushroom form. And when the clothes do get through a complete cycle, they are twisted so tightly it is hard to get the wrinkles out in the dryer. Why would they sell a machine like this without having testing it more first? Dont get suckered into the Maytag name. Terrible washer!

I have an MSD2542VEB01 model refrigerator purchased slightly over two years ago. I have the same problem as many others, which is the plastic breaking on the shelves. The first time, it was within a year and the part was under warranty. It is now a year and a half later and one is broken beyond use and another is cracking again. Maytag refuses to help me as there is no “recall and the plastic is not available separately from the easily removable glass of the shelf. The least expensive price that I can find for the shelf is $107 and I need two of them. $214 (plus shipping) when all I need is two pieces of plastic? Be very careful when selecting your appliances.

I have had trouble since I bought the Maytag Bravo washer. It first started out with the motherboard putting up crazy numbers. It took 2 different motherboards before that problem was fixed. Then it started with not wanting to drain; that was caused from the washer machine sucking up small clothes items in the drain plug. I had to call the Maytag repairman 4 times until I was told I had to put the small items in a laundry bag for this to stop. Now it is going off level on every wash, even when it has only 2 pieces of clothes in the machine. I am about ready to throw it out. Btw, all of my appliances are Maytag and I will never buy another Maytag appliance again or I will never recommend a Maytag to anyone.

Used my washer ONE time and when the load was done my clothes were soaking wet. Tried to get the clothes to spin dry but the washer would not work. Called for repair. They replaced the activator. I did one load of laundry. It worked fine. Did a second load of laundry and the clothes were soaking wet. The washer would not do anything else.

We just had the same problem as most of you have posted. The control panel malfunction. Model MDB7749SBM. Our issue started after only 18 months when the dishwasher would start on its own and/or cancel a wash on its own. I think this is a major issue if a home appliance can start on its own from the off position and run through multiple cycles. I think this could be dangerous if you are out of town. Our cost to replace the panel was more than 1/2 of the original purchase price. This is a major defect and should be handled by Maytag if they are a company with any integrity.

The $1,100 Maytag Bravo XL does not have a dedicated spin cycle. Its rinse and spin. When out of balance, you rearrange and it rinses AGAIN - 15 minutes - before you know whether its balanced. By rinsing again, it can redistribute to be out of balance. Repairmen (w/ extra warranty) said you cant wash bath mats, bedspreads or pillows though it had giant capacity! They would charge me if I called again about it (3 strikes). So bought a used Kenmore with no computer panel... Its great! My dealer had the Maytag hauled to a dump, he would not sell it to anybody as he had integrity.

I have been very disappointed with the 2017 model of Maytag washer and dryer as the washer does not clean the clothes as it should. There is the inner part taken out with no agitator and I believe that is the reason that the clothes comes out not white or cleans as I am use to it being before with my other machines. I think they need to reinstall the agitator to clean the clothing thoroughly. The dryer takes longer to dry the clothing and it uses more hydro which cost a lot more monthly for us to have to pay out. I will never purchase another washer and dryer as this in the future.

Maytag Neptune MAH8700AWW and MDE9700AYH Washer and Dryer - Electrical overload to house circuit, multiple water pump replacements (Maytag would not sell rebuild kit with impeller and gasket or seal causing us to have to buy complete water pumps with mounts and motor.), electronic error readouts, odor and mold washing machine. The welds breaking on the drum causing possible fire hazard by filling case up with dryer lint fibers, around the electrical components, and air intake heater and also allowing metal fragments to get imbedded in the familys clothes. I bought a Maytag Bravo washer 11 months ago, and I have had nothing but trouble with it. I have had it worked on twice, and now, Sears is sending me a new one, because it is broken again. I would rather have my money back, go somewhere else, and get a new washer. I will never buy anything from Sears again. They could not send a person out for other repairs for 1 week. Then they would have to send out for parts, because the drum is peeling on the tops. So that means more time to wait for parts to come in, and the machine is not spinning out. The cycles are not washing right; sometimes, they wash a cycle 2 times.Sears does nothing but give you a runaround. And the Morrisville Vt. store manager is so rude. He was talking to me like I was stupid. Now, I have to wait 3 more days before a washer comes in from the warehouse after Sears told me it was coming on 4/24 between 9:45-11:45. Then the manager told me I could take the floor model if I want it today, which has scratches on it. I was hoping someday to buy the dryer to match the washer. But now, I do not want anything to do with the brand. I bought a Maytag refrigerator also last year. Its beautiful. Everything is in my kitchen, and I have been working on getting everything to match. I am raising my 2 grandchildren and am on a fixed income. They treat people awfully at Sears, and it is too bad Maytag works with them.

Bought a Maytag Bravos XL washing machine because I thought it was a dependable brand. We have had it 14 months and the lid (upper left corner) will not stay connected. I called Maytag and the rep states to me Is it broken in the upper left corner and I replied yes. He continued he is just the parts guy, but every bravos has the same problem. I asked for the replacement part ($302), but he said the part is on back order for 60 days. He continued that maybe I should buy two because it will happen again. I only paid $700 for the washer, but it should never break down after 14 months. I highly recommend a different brand.

I purchased my Maytag Neptune washer and dryer 5 years ago. About 2 months ago, my washer started making a lot of noise in the final spin cycle. Well, after I called my repair man (who I purchased the set from), they said that a back bearing is faulty. They suggested calling Maytag because the cost of the repair is $500. I called Maytag and was told that due to the age of my washer, there was nothing they could or would do for me. This is very poor customer service and very poor quality as far as I am concerned. I can hardly afford to get it fixed, but I also cannot be without a washer. Im sorry I have several other appliances that are Maytag in my home.

Faulty Maytag MDB8969 Dishwasher - BEWARE! Whirlpool, Jenn-Air, Amana, Maytag, KitchenAid... Are all brands that fall under Whirlpool. According to Better Business Bureau statistics there is less than 1 chance in 10 that you will get the Whirlpool product you are expecting! We purchased a new Maytag dishwasher at the end of 2016. Within a couple of weeks the dishwasher began failing: discharge pumps, heating elements, soap dispensers, door leaks, faulty racks, rinsing problems... Since purchasing the machine we have had to make 7 different service calls, all under warranty. The warranty service providers have been good but the machine has been a catastrophe, having been out of commission for several of the 18 months since being installed, and causing serious water damage to our kitchen floor (based on several other negative reviews this leaking is not an uncommon occurrence).A few months into owning the machine, after our 3rd service call, we contacted Whirlpool, Customer Service and asked for the machine to be replaced. They refused to replace the machine but extended our warranty free of charge- better than nothing but not a cure to the problem and the only remedial action that Whirlpool was willing to offer. We didnt understand at that point that the problem of faulty and defective Whirlpool products was probably so huge that Whirlpool could not afford to provide a reasonable solution to their customers; leaving many, as witnessed on various product review sites, to bear the extreme frustration and associated expenses borne from the incurred failures. Unfortunately, here we are once again, requesting our 7th service call in less than 18 months, and asking once again for a replacement.The Whirlpool response this time (CSR was not allowed to let us speak to her Supervisor in spite of trying to negotiate that for several minutes) was that they would not replace the defective machine but would sell us a new $850 machine for $250 and would dispose of the faulty machine for an additional $25. Whirlpool would not however pay for the uninstall of the faulty unit nor the install of the new unit (about $350) which would have to come out of our pocket. We won’t be spending the additional $600 to fix this problem as proposed by Whirlpool; we won’t be installing another Maytag product in our home. We were advised that we could fill out a form if we wanted, to try and claim for the damages which the dishwasher caused to our kitchen floor. The form was never emailed as agreed and now we are just really tired of the whole experience so will simply put this all behind us.Our Whirlpool experience has been extremely stressful and quite expensive. It is clear to us that if an appliance which is averaging a serious failure every 3 months since the first day of installation, does not in the opinion of Whirlpool warrant a full and prompt replacement, or even the direct telephone attention of a Customer Service Supervisor, that the Whirlpool quality standard must be so low, the failure frequencies so high, that the number of similar failures prohibits any commercial viability to manage the problems in a reputable manner. Whirlpool clearly has some very large problems. It would not have been easy to destroy the once highly respected Maytag name. Such degradation could only take place as a result of continuous and ongoing Whirlpool quality degradation. We will no longer be their ‘crash test dummies’ but I do hope for the sake of Whirlpool (apparently North American made) that they take ownership of their poor quality condition, realign and spend the next few years becoming the company that we all once knew and respected.

Maytag Neptune Washer Drum Bearings have once again failed. Last time, I replace the whole drum via diy, cost was about $160 for the part. Now I see that outer drum is $500 +/-. I just may only replace the Seals & Bearings this time OR just part this thing out and buy a real machine without the Maytag name.

I have had my refrigerator freezer for 2 1/2 years. It worked fine until about 6 months ago. The vent started freezing and then water ran to bottom of freezer and freeze. If I get this fixed, I hope that will be the end of the problem. I am going to defrost it the old fashion way to see if that works. I will never buy this product again.

The way the side by side fridge/freezer is built contributed to several injuries. I am 60 tall and of normal size, and accessing anything in the side doors lower down always results in smashed head, near bleeding injuries. I am so sick and tired of it. No other fridge has done this to me. Add that to the shelves being near razor sharp. One of these days this fridge is going to land me in the hospital with a lawsuit. Most people are not 3 feet tall or 8 feet tall, thats the only way to use this fridge safely!

After speaking to a Kim today... Im more than angry. The control panel on my dishwasher is broken. Had repair come out and they told me a few months past warranty. Kim tells me the only thing still under warranty are the racks?! Im extremely angry at the poor service we are receiving but pleased as we have cancelled the washer and dryer (Maytag). If youre thinking of going Maytag or Whirlpool, cancel! Not worth the headaches or cost.

We purchased a top of the line, state of the art Maytag washer and dryer Neptune. The fill valve failed twice, flooding the first floor and the big storage room below. Thank God we were here! Now the thing halts mid-cycle and wont continue. The repairmen both said the design is messed up and they hate to work on the Neptunes.

Bought this machine last spring with high hopes. When I noticed issues, I looked up other reviews and saw so many having the same experiences. It does NOT use enough water to clean or rinse the clothes. My clothes are getting stretched and worn. I have to run extra rinse cycles to get the detergent out of my clothes. For the cost of this machine, it should be working much more efficiently than it does. Not seeing any savings in electricity or water bill due to extra cycles needed. Waste of time and money. Would love to join a class action suit against them for the piece of junk!

We love our Maytag ovens. It always cooks evenly and we never have HAD any issues over the past 2 years. We will always buy Maytag! It has a self cleaning option and I have never burned anything on the oven.

My freezer has been leaking from the bottom for a few months and now the icemaker has quit working as well. The refrigerator has been purchased less than two years ago. The warranty is expired. I will not fix this refrigerator, as it is a gigantic piece of junk. However I would like to be compensated by Maytag at least 1/3 of the price so I can have it removed from my house before it creates more damage to my floors and subfloors.

When I bought Maytag Neptune top-load washer, it lasted three months. I had to have the rockers replaced. Three months later, the lock switches went bad. Six months later, the main circuit board went out. Thank God it was under warranty. Ive had this ** washer four years and it broke down once again. I dont have any warranty and the money. We bought the Maytag Washer and Dryer set about two years ago from Home Depot. We have had to have the washer repaired several times in that two years, most recently for a cracked mother board controller unit. The same day we had to have the washer repaired, we also had to have the dryer repaired. Lint and dust is not properly filtered out by the filter and accumulates inside the dryer where it should not be, up against the gas heating unit. The repairman indicated that it was badly scorched and that we were lucky it had not caught on fire. Another customer of his had the same unit, which burst into flames one day when she had left the house with the dryer going, causing a house fire. The quality of these items is highly questionable. Having to spend nearly $600 to replace a cracked mother board only two years after purchase simply is unacceptable.

I bought Maytag Bravo washer and dryer set in Nov 2012. Washer door lock broke shortly after 1 yr and now the gearbox has broken. DO NOT BUY MAYTAG BRAVO WASHER. The cost to fix is more than the value. Before the gearbox death the sound it made while spinning was so loud you could not hear the TV or have a conversation in the west end of the house. My Maytag dishwasher is 1.5 years old and wont start. The Maytag call center said they couldnt help me except to sell me a service warranty for $269. Then she wanted to argue with me when I asked her to pass on my dissatisfaction with their products to her supervisor. I thought Maytag was a good product. For what I pay for parts and labor, I can get a new dishwasher. She said do I expect not to have any problems with that dishwasher. I will never buy anything Maytag again. We purchased Maytag microwave (MMV4205DH1) less than two years ago. Within the first year, the microwave would not work and we would see an Open and Close Door message. We had it repaired and now 10 months later it is doing the same thing. The cost of repairs is high--the same as a new microwave. We have been inconvenienced throughout the holidays by our broken appliance. Disappointed.

I got a Maytag Bravos 18 months ago and liked it at first. After using the washer for a while my towels were falling apart. Did not connect to the washer at first but I began to notice pulled threads on my towels. Talked to Maytag customer service who said they had never heard of the problem. She did say mix the towels with other clothes to prevent the problem. When I got this machine we had about two dozen good quality towels. Now I am down to maybe a half dozen. Those came from the six my Dad bought us for Christmas and I stashed away. The towels have pulled threads all over and will be completely destroyed soon.

Bought the Bravos machines in 2008. Nothing but trouble. First they both had to have their timers replaced because they took two hours to wash/dry a load. Then the washer began to leak. I need to keep a towel under it and swap it out with another one as it gets wet. Had warranty folks come out to repair it. Took three tries and two guys working together to figure out what was wrong. Within a year it was leaking again - back to the towels! The dryer always takes at least two cycles to get anything dry. No more Maytag for me!

I bought a Maytag Bravos XL washer in 2017 for around $800 which suddenly stopped working about 1.5 weeks ago. The console wont turn on. I filed a service request on Maytags website which results in Maytag subcontracting the job to a local appliance servicing company. About 10 days later the appliance tech shows up to my house. I had to pay $125 to the service company for the technician just to show up. After, he tinkers with the machine and 5 minutes later gives me a quote totaling $789.07. Of that amount the parts component was $482.09. He told me that the computer was bad. I was appalled. This was a 2.5 year old well kept washer. I called Maytag company next day to see if they could at least cover the parts cost. Especially as I have a large family with 3 kids plus elderly family members. After waiting 33 minutes on the phone, the CSR took all the appliance info and tried to see if she could get Maytag to cover the parts cost, given my situation. After about 5 minutes, she told me that Maytag declined my request- quoting that my appliance did not have any warranty and that the notes on the computer regarding my appliance indicated that it was field scrap. Field scrap?? Really? This was an appliance that was bought at Home Depot.This is the lowest of lows that this company (Maytag/Whirpool) can stoop. For a billion dollar company, that are advertising their products as Made in America, they have no heart and no empathy for their customers. They build sub-standard products comprising of cheap parts so that their products only last a few months, then they try to sell you their sub-prime warranty services that are full of holes. And for those poor souls that dont sign up for their warranty services, God help them if their appliance breaks down. They are then left to deal with Maytag/Whirpools appliance service vulture contractors which in tandem with Maytag conspire to squeeze every last cent out of hard working Americans (Especially during these trying times).Just to compare my situation. My parents bought LG washers and dryers in 2008 which remain in full working operation to this day (12 years in operation). The Maytag Bravos broke down in 2.5 years. Use my experience as a lesson. Do yourself a favor and save yourself the headache and heartache. DO NOT, I mean DO NOT purchase or support Maytag/Whirpool appliances. You are better off spending your money with LG or Samsung.

Within the first couple months the transmission leaked oil and service tech had to replace the transmission. A few months later – another problem, clothes wet after spin cycle - tech told me the agitator base and/or couple parts need replaced. Quality control appears to have been lacking at the factory when this washer was made. This house has only one person presently. The washer was not abused.

Maytag dishwasher model MDBH979SAM1 purchased December 2012 From Home Depot. After only 14 months of usage the front panel ceased to work. Contacted maytag about issue and they responded THERE ARE NO KNOWN ISSUES WITH THIS MODEL. After doing some research (5 seconds), I have found thousands of people with the exact same issue. Maytag has stuck their head in the sand. Either they are ignoring this issue or just dont care due to excessive cost of replacement. This is obviously a design flaw due to poor engineering and Maytag needs to stand behind their product and fix this issue. Personally we had to save up for 1 1/2 years in order to afford a dishwasher. Now we are stuck. Some people have replaced this part costing $200 2-3 times. I cannot afford to take the chance on a repair. I will have to start saving again for a new dishwasher and this one will not be a Maytag. (Less)

I purchased a Bravos washing machine 3 years, 9 months ago. It has stopped working, bad bearings. How can a major appliance fail after three years for bad bearings unless the bearing were bad to begin with??? The repair man knew by the sound the problem was bad bearings. The washing machine sounded the same as it always had, which means the bearing were bad from the start. My first washing machine, a Kenmore, lasted 21 years and a few months. How can you produce such a terrible product and expect I as a consumer would buy another Maytag product or recommend a Maytag product? Not to mention what will now enter a landfill someplace, terrible!

I purchased this washing machine from Home Depot in 2012. I am amazed that it lasted this long after reading the reviews on here. It will not drain water, it will not spin. I see many customers bought the same washer and are having multiple issues. When will Maytag recall these machines? It sounds like an old threshing machine... I have to close the laundry door it is so loud. People cant believe its a new machine. So saving water is the big deal we hear so much about...but water is the main cleaning agent and it hardly covers the clothes even on a full load coverage. Do not use bleach in the machine unless the load contains ONLY WHITES. It just destroyed a new pink top as it spurts out the bleach without any controls. It does not get whites or clothes clean and just twists the clothes to the point everything you wear has to be ironed. There is not one good thing I can say about this pair of appliances except BUYER BEWARE~ I wish I had read the reviews... Buy the old...tried and true.

Our prior fridge died on a hot long weekend in July 2020. Desperate for a fridge, I ordered any fridge that could be delivered the same day. Received a Maytag which totally died 3 months later! Now I am waiting for a part (which apparently the Manufacturer has 100 in their inventory but havent distributed them to the source that ordered them). This is just the worst service I have ever experienced with an appliance. As so many people have said, I should have waited and ordered a European appliance. I HATE this washer. It had such good reviews before I bought it, but I have never been so disappointed. Doesnt use NEARLY enough water to get anything clean, even when I try deep water wash, bedding, or power wash. You cant switch modes in the middle of a load, and if you leave it paused too long, it drains on you. Ive tried balling everything up as the manufacturer advised. I tried using less detergent, again as advised. Nothing works. Sometimes the clothes on top dont even get wet. Dont waste your money!! If I can find a way to fix my old washer, Im going to do that and throw this thing to the junk heap.

Received this Maytag dishwasher model MDW7749SBW1 as a gift from my son in June 2013 when my old dishwasher finally quit. January 2014, the soap/rinse aid dispenser did not work. Called Maytag and they sent repairman who replaced the part. Still did not work so repairman said another part was not communicating with the dispenser so he replaced that part. Worked fine. No charge since it was under warranty. Now its July 2014 and the touch panel doesnt work. Called for repair and was told since it is out of warranty, it will cost about $350 to repair. I called Maytag about this and said that I had a defective appliance. I was told that since I didnt buy the extended warranty, there was nothing they could do. I mentioned my last Maytag lasted 25 years and had only two minor repairs so I didnt see any reason to buy an extended warranty. I thought I was buying a good product. I was told shed register my complaint. Waiting for my repairman to come out tomorrow and see what he can do. I also have a Maytag stove. Wonder how long that will last?

Washer gets out off balance too easily. If I put in a couple of towels, it will almost invariably stop part way through the wash cycle. I was told you have a great washer! Its the last of the two-belt Maytags! My reaction: so what?

This is the worse designed product. The gaskets on the door keep making mold. The end caps that hold the pantry lid keeps snapping off, had to replace them twice. It is a very elaborate and complicated installation which of course they will not cover. The water dispenser is inside the left side of the fridge and the water runs so slow, that you lose a lot of the refrigeration by the time you fill a glass.This appliance is very noisy. The customer service is sometimes nonexistent. I called on 9-16, I waited 24 min on the line and decided to hang up. The next day I tried again after 15 min they hang up on me. I tried again later got Customer service, but no they could not help me with installation of a replacement for a warrantied part that snapped off for no reason at all. I have complained while this appliance was under warranty, and after. They do not care. My advice is stay clear of Maytag refrigerator, I CERTAINLY WILL.

I would say you have plenty of options when choosing a color for your dishwasher. You can choose black or stainless. Try one today you wont be disappointed. I load plenty of dishes into the space. It has extra pockets for little things and it has plenty of hooks and hangers to use for bigger cycles. Kenmore Dishwasher runs great. Very efficient and cleans the tough stains better than any dishwasher Ive ever used. I would recommend this to anyone looking to buy a dishwasher. Of all the dishwashers I researched at Lowes and Home Depot and Sears and Ace and other local stores, the Maytag was the lowest price with all the features I wanted.

We purchased a Maytag Washer and Dryer from The Home Depot in September of 2017. We did not purchase the extended warranty because of our confidence in the brand. Within less than a year, both appliances started making noises. By September of 2018, the washer sounded like it had a bag of mice squeaking inside every time we ran a load and had stopped spinning entirely. I called and spoke to a very kind lady who assured me that even if we were outside the one year manufacturers warranty, they would offer us the extended warranty without question because it was so close to the one year purchase. She took my credit card, we were charged for a five year plan and service was scheduled. After service, both units were still louder than I would prefer but the technician said it was common. Over the last few months, both have become louder and louder. Now the dryer shuts off and wont stay on. When I called back to schedule service again, the date of our purchase was all of a sudden in question. (I applied for the contract over the phone so THEIR rep entered the purchase date.) They are now telling us they will only honor the cost of parts and we are subject to pay for diagnostics and labor (which is the largest cost of repair). They are telling us our contract has to be cancelled and AFTER we receive and PAY FOR all but the parts, we can call and pay for a NEW contract. This has been the WORST appliance purchase we have EVER made and we have lost all confidence in the quality of Maytag/Whirlpool appliances. Both units have been VERY disappointing and we spent over $700 on each unit. NEVER AGAIN.

Im currently standing in front of my washing machine waiting for the 13-minute drain and spin cycle to finish because once again my load didnt drain and finish right. Except it has already been 40 minutes and it claims there is still 9 more left as it continues to sit there doing nothing while it hasnt even started spinning yet. It Sat on 13 minutes while sensing for over 5 minutes, then 12 for 10 minutes while doing nothing, then it changed to 11 minutes and made some weird noises but didnt actually do anything for 15 minutes, and now the timer randomly changed from 11 to 9 without any noises or movement happening and now continues to sit here.I stupidly thought I could spin my clothes real quick to throw them in the dryer before bed and now I stand here extremely tired and very irritated. I also have no doubt some of the clothes will have holes in them when theyre done because they always do, my family looks like were homeless and ratty half the time we get dressed now. Also it never deep cleans thoroughly even on the toughest settings, I swear our socks can be washed 3 times in a row after being soaked all day and still come out crusty or a lot of times the armpits of shirts will still smell or be ultra stained with deodorant marks still.This technology is almost too advanced and everything is decided by sensor, regardless of the registered functions on the buttons it will still do what it wants as the sensors see fit and run when they decide everything is perfect and ready, including taking 10 minutes just to unlock the lid when you pause a load cuase a small child may drown in the foot of water or a person may have their life completely altered by getting a little bit wet if the machine isnt completely drained and in pristine condition before you open the door. This machine is terrible. This company is terrible. And worst of all they drain your wallet for these horrible contraptions. I wish I could rate this 0 stars.

I bought a Maytag washer 1 year and 1 month ago (MVWB835DW1), Hated this washer since day one. It does not wash clothes very well, does not even cover them fully with water. The mini agitator at the bottom does not move he close it just spins on the bottom of them. Now it started making a very high pitch squeal when it spins and of course it is one month past the manufacture warranty so I call a repairman and the first thing he says to me is Im sorry for your purchase, it was a bad one and it will cost me 600$ to repair because the bearing is bad. Im an 78 year old man, married in 1962. In all the years and two kids we have had just three Maytag washers. To me the gold standard of quality washers. When the motor went out in our 15 year old Washing machine I considered replacing the motor, which is well within my capability. I am a journeyman industrial machine repairman formerly with Ford Motor car company before retirement.Instead, my wife and I bought a Maytag top loader high efficiency washer from Best Buy. I was skeptical when I examined the new machine with paddles instead of the agitator. Trusting that Maytag had engineered a water saving washer using paddles, I made the very poor decision to buy it. I regret not replacing the motor in my old machine. Boy was I wrong. Given the chance I would trade my new machine for the old in a heartbeat...The old machine washed everything we could throw at it. The new machine wont wash anything to my satisfaction. The bedding deep fill cycle is the only one capable of a passable job. Even then I would like a soak cycle which, in my opinion, would vastly improve results. In all I would characterize this as a total engineering failure. Why Maytag would allow this POS to be sold, where the reputation of Maytag is totally destroyed, is beyond my comprehension.

I purchased a Maytag washer 5 months ago. I noticed the washer was not putting enough water in the machine to cover my clothes, and at the end of cycle my clothes would be all tangled up. A repairman looked at it and said there was nothing he could do. Do not buy this washer. It is a lemon. I purchased a Maytag energy efficient dishwasher in June of 2010 along with an extended warranty that I keep extending. Cost $ but needed. Issue: Sensor in Panel fails so far every year and needs to be replaced. The repair technician showed me the sensor strip and indicated that this has been a big problem. (At least I have a warranty; however, it is a big pain to have to schedule a service repair person to fix the problem.) Repair (Sears) is EXCELLENT with great customer service. I did contact Maytag and there has been no recall.I own other Maytag appliances such as a washing machine and refrigerator with no issues there. In any case, I needed to replace my clothes dryer and did not select a Maytag. I purchased a GE very simple product with no sensor/bells and whistles. Not sure if I will go back to Maytag in the future - depends upon how they handle problems with their appliances. I would rather pay extra money for quality, durability, and reliability than go through the inconvenience from parts that are not made well enough to hold up.

Maytag Bravos Quiet Series 300 - Just DONT BUY this junk. We bought the washer and dryer set from Home Depot in 2011 and have had nothing but trouble with the washer. Three times small objects like dimes, pennies and nickels got past the agitator into the drain pump which has been replaced twice. Beneath the agitator we even found a few missing socks. Today after a visit to the Laundromat, we bought a Samsung with a 5 year extended warranty. If that doesnt work it will be an old fashioned Speed Queen next. We will never buy anything Maytag again and I hope to influence everyone we meet about them. I cant wait to throw it into the city landfill for recycle dog food cans.

In April 2010, I replaced my washing machine (still functioning after 12 yrs) to upgrade to what I believed to be the top of the line Maytag Bravo 5.2 HE washing machine. Module # MVWB850WL0 type: 580-02. This machine of 3.5 yrs leaks underneath and after having the service tech come to look he advised me it will cost over $800 to fix (I paid over $900 for this unit). He says its the bearings and went on to ask me if Id been using the HE laundry soap (as if Im an idiot) and went on to ask whether Id been washing bedding. SERIOUSLY?!? !... After much research on this issue, I discover that there are similar complaints all over North America. Very disappointed and I want this lemon replaced by Maytag.

Neptune 4000 washer - Worst washer EVER! Two weeks after we bought it sounded like a jet engine during the spin cycle. They replaced the bearing parts. Only cost us 450 in labor. One year later, again the bearing but this time we insisted on full coverage. 6 months later, here we are again! Most expensive washer in the history of washers and this is a KNOWN issue - yet Maytag gets away with it while consumers foot the bill! Ridiculous! Never again will I purchase their product and make dang sure everyone I know stays away too and everyone that hears my washer is in shock that it hasnt injured something or someone. Its only a matter of time!

My Neptune Maytag pair have been dependable. Great features. Now at 20 yrs old still kicking. Washer-front loader now has issue with fab softener going into wash correctly. Could be build up? Trying to self-fix. Very gentle with washing fine things. Hope I can keep going with them.

Shortly after purchasing my Maytag refrigerator had to pay for a new motor in the ice maker. The cover for the lower large food tray broke. Now approx. 4 years later am getting ice build-up on the bottom of the lower freezer unit, about one-half inch thick. It is enough so the freezer door wont seal when it closes and the inside builds up with frost. Not happy with Maytag or this refrigerator.

I have a Maytag microwave and stove in my condo kitchen. Both are about 4 years old. Ill never buy another Maytag appliance again. This stove had problems from day 1 and the support was dismal. I had [bought] an extended warranty, which covered nothing (I let it expire and didnt renew). The microwave handle came off in my hand a few months ago. I stuck it back on with gorilla glue. Now it is starting to shut itself off, as if it lost power then mysteriously turn itself back on. Im sure there will be a new microwave in my future and it wont be a Maytag.

I purchase the Maytag Bravos washer & dryer set 3 1/2 years ago brand new. I figured being a Maytag it would last for a long time but nope I was wrong??? I will never buy another Maytag product as long as I live and I will tell all my friends and family not to purchase a Maytag product also!

I bought this POS and paid almost 1000. Out the door with tax, hoses, delivery, etc. And it is by far the worst most useless pile of crap I have ever purchased. It just does not work!!! Its a washer that does not wash. It uses enough water to wash one sock and that still comes out stinky.. All my clothes no matter what cycle I use including deep fill power wash or if I add my own buckets full of water to the 1.5 hour wash cycle still come out dirty, stinky, stained and caked with detergent...Hey Maytag heres a hint. You need water to wash clothes and you need agitation to get out the soil, the dirt, the sweat, the stains, the stink and your washer does none of that. In fact I could get my clothes cleaner if I out them in the bath tub and swished them around with a broom stick for 3 mins. How could you go from the loneliest man on earth to the biggest scammer on earth by producing this boondoggle... P.S. Its only me and my wife. We are retired and our clothes are not even that dirty... Its just common sense. No water no action no clean. Ill never ever ever buy anything that says Maytag on it ever ever again and you can bet your life Im telling everyone I know this story.

I owned a Maytag Neptune washer and dryer for 13 years and never had a problem. The only one thing I would say about them is that since the washer had no agitator it would often tangle the clothes, but they were clean and not damaged so I was ok with that. We moved to another house in July 2016, and the moment we plugged in our dryer there was a spark and smoke under it. Our dryer was fried and it was because the previous owner put in the 220 outlet and wired it wrong. So our dryer was dead and cannot be fixed.Since the washer had the small problem with tangling clothes together, I convinced my husband to get a whole new set, not just a dryer. We went to Lowes and picked out a new Maytag Bravos XL, thinking that the brand was reliable and they were so big I didnt have to worry about doing bedding in it. Like ALL of the other reviews of this set, DO NOT BUY THEM! The washer does not use enough water to wet the entire load and you will be left with soap residue on your clothes and they will not smell fresh and clean at all. In fact, my son sometimes wets the bed or has dirty underwear and that is what my entire load of laundry will smell like when I wash them. Imagine taking a load of dressy work clothes out of your dryer and they smell like dirty underwear!I have tried other settings, different types of soap (liquid versus pod, etc) and doing smaller loads. None of this fixes the issue. It is obvious that Maytag and Lowes will do nothing about this issue, according to other reviewers, so Im not even going to bother to have them come out here to do a service call and charge me for it. So Im stuck with a $1,500 garbage laundry set! (Actually the dryer is fine, it just takes longer to dry than Im used to). Im all for a class action suit to get our money back and force them to stop producing such crappy products! Also, if you are considering this set, keep in mind that they have just over a 1-star average rating on this site, and that is because every reviewer is forced to add a rating of at least 1 star. If not, I think wed all pick the zero.

We bought a Bravos model in May 2010. Two years later, the machine started making noise during the final spin cycle. We finally called a repairman who came today and informed us it was a bearing in the outer drum. The cost for the part (the drum assembly) was $290, not to mention the cost for labor. Since we only got the original warranty, the service center at Maytag refused to help with the repair. We, as others who have had problems with Maytag, bought the washer because of Maytags reputation. This is why we have to buy extended service warranties. Companies make trash! What happened to the days when an appliance lasted longer than 10 years? Why cant we buy a good sturdy appliance without superficial bells and whistles? We have no idea if any other brand is better, but we will not buy another Maytag.

This is about my model MFI2569VEB2 refrigerator. It has French doors with bottom pull-out freezer, refrigerator door ice and filtered water dispenser. The delivery person installed the fridge and took off outside plastic and left inside plastic in. It froze everything until I took out the inside plastic. Within the first year, water started shooting out of the top of the fridge. A rubber connector for the icemaker, which was on top of the fridge, had broken. Within 18 months, it freezes everything in the refrigerator, even on the warmest setting. I have to leave it unplugged each night. The icemaker gets big chunks of ice stuck to it and wont let ice out. On top of all of that, the water from the fridge door pours out extremely slowly, this just how they are built.I will have to fix the thing myself and eat the expenses, so to speak. I bought the Maytag because Samsung had poor reviews. No matter how fancy you want your refrigerator to be, and how nice you want it to look in your kitchen, stick to the basics. The fewer bells and whistles, the more reliable.

Maytag Maxima 9000 washer not working since day 1: I have placed a call on Friday, June 14, about my Maytag washer not working. The service man came in on Friday, June 15, 2012, and stated that a UI board needs to be replaced. I have called Whirlpool to ask for the part to be ordered so it is faster, could not do anything. Then, I have not heard from Whirlpool since. I called them again on Wednesday, June 20th, and I was told that the part was ordered and it will take up to 10 days for it to arrive. Once it arrives, the technician will call to set up an appointment. So, according to Maytag (Whirlpool), I can be without a washer for at least 2 weeks (as 10 days are 10 business days) and it is all good.

Bravos washer is 4 years old. Started making an extreme amount of noise during the spin cycle. Had a repairman look at and showed me the bearings and area under the tub. $400 plus in damage due to bad bearings, rust to bottom of tub and surrounding area. Four years for a high-end washer is pretty bad. Needless to say, I will buy a new unit and would NEVER recommend a Maytag Bravos appliance.

Purchased a non agitator washer 1 year ago. Constant frustration with the sensing technology. Cannot select a water level or load size. The expectation is that the machine will do that automatically. The water dispenses through the soap container adding soap to dry clothes which then leave white marks on dark clothes. All of the selections for loads do not have a water level close to covering the clothes. The only way to achieve coverage is to reopen the lid multiple times to restart the sensing feature. Another option is to add wet clothes to increase the weight to “fool” the sensor. Some clothes have come out of the wash still dry in areas. Every load, no matter what size takes a full hour to complete! There is no quick load to be done! I have paused the cycle to leave the house and the water drains from the machine causing you to begin your 1 hour cycle again. Epic fail by the Engineers to provide a user friendly machine. This one, as time goes on, just becomes more frustrating and yes very noisy during the spin cycle.

My Maytag dishwasher MDB780AWW2 was recalled due to electrical problems. They gave me a voucher to purchase another one, plus I had to pay another installation fee. New unit was installed in February 2011, and here I am with a control panel issue. Seems like a similar problem, too. The lights light up, but the dishwasher wont start. Its another $345.00 plus tax repair by a repairman.

It is impossible to dry clothes in the dryer without the worst wrinkles you can imagine. I have 2 of them and they are both horrible machines!! The drum spins too fast which causes the clothes to get stuck against the tumbler fins. The centrifugal force holds them there and they just ride around without tumbling in the drum. When the cycle is finished the clothes have been dryer while jammed up against the fins and they are so wrinkled you have to wash them again. The ONLY way to get them through a drying cycle without a tremendous amount of wrinkles is to stop the machine every 5-8 minutes and fluff the clothes around inside the drum by hand. DO NOT BUY!!

This is a top load washer, commercial series, high efficiency without any agitator. It doesnt use enough water to break down the soap, no matter what soap or amount is used. Clothes come out of the machine with soap patches. It is also virtually impossible to balance the load so when it spins, it bangs and thumps and walks across the room until it shuts itself down. Stirring and re-distributing the load, changing the size of the load, small or large (should you actually fill the tub to a full load per instructions) it simply doesnt distribute or balance itself at all. At the end of the day, clothes need more water for extra rinse and then doesnt seem to work with soap removal all of the time. You cant put a load in and walk away and do something else or it will bang around and turn off. A waste of money and time. Save yourself, buy something else.

We bought a new home with all new Maytag appliances. Our Maytag dishwasher has had 3 new handles, 1 inside tub and now needs a new touch panel. Our Maytag oven/stove has needed three ignitors and the oven door has never been right! The microwave is the only appliance that we have not had a service call. Appliances are expensive along with parts and labor for service calls. I will not be purchasing any more Maytag appliances. The standard comment by repairman: They dont make them like they used to. How sad is that!!

I have enjoyed my microwave and it has lasted 10 years so far. The only problem I have had is the handle coming off but I clip it back on. Also I changed the bulb. The microwave is over the stove and matched the rest of my appliances. Basically, I would recommend Maytag for any appliances that a person would need to buy.

We bought a Maytag dishwasher in August, 2014, and already the touchpad is malfunctioning and we cant start the dishwasher! I am very disgruntled and frustrated by this! I should have kept the old Kitchen Aid dishwasher that we bought in 1995! At least it never malfunctioned!

Seven years ago when we bought a new house, we bought all new appliances, Maytag Washer and Dryer, because they were suppose to be extra good and sturdy, what a joke. For the past four or five years, I have had to replace the lock on the door of the washer, which means Im without a washer for a week. Since no one stocks the parts because it is such a joke, some repair places wont even consider repairing a Neptune. Seems like since the company stopped making them because of the problems they have, as a minimum they should replace all Neptune washers that have been sold with a reliable washer, front loading in the same price range. I will never buy another Maytag product and will be sure to tell everyone I know not to buy them either.

In 2011 we purchased a complete appliance grouping at Home Depot by Maytag to include the dishwasher. For some reason we neglected to purchase an extended warranty on the dishwasher. Lo and behold in 2013 our control panel went bad and the cost to repair it was almost as much as purchasing a new dishwasher. Thinking this was a fluke we were dumb enough to purchase another Maytag from Home Depot due to the loyalty made in the USA. Well here we are 2015 not even a full two years later the control panel started acting funny a few days ago and yesterday just plain old QUIT. Fortunately we were wise enough to purchase an extended warranty plan on this dishwasher so tomorrow we will be calling the repairman. Unfortunately Maytag has never solved the problem that has been occurring for at least 5 years and continues to sell this product to unsuspecting schmucks like us who try to be true to the made in the USA slogan. Shame on Maytag!!! Our model number is MDB7749SBM. Buyers beware.
