I purchased a Maytag 2000 series washing machines. It broke and needed to be repaired within six months of purchase. It continued to break and need to be repaired numerous times and its only a little over 1 1/2 years old. It ripped and ruined clothing on numerous occasions. It would not drain and the door would lock with clothing inside thus ruining them. Both of these issues occurred on more than one occasion. Maytags solution for their defective washer was to keep referring me to my warranty. They were no help at all. My warranty finally came through for me and I was issued a full refund through the warranty I purchased at the time I purchased the washer. My new washer (which is not a Maytag) is being delivered Friday. So finally after being without a washer for over two weeks I will be able to wash clothes again. My experience with Maytag was frustrating and aggravating to say the least and I will definitely never purchase Maytag again. They are far from reliable.

I can honestly say that my Maytag refrigerator is indeed the worse appliance that I have ever purchased. This is how it rolled... I bought a new Maytag stove, frig, microwave, and dishwasher in June of 2006. Here is what I am now dealing with... the frig went on the fritz 2 years ago (warranty expired). The problem being the freezer would not automatically defrost. Because of this the coils would ice up and this prevented the cold air from moving from the freezer into the frig part. Things remained frozen in the freezer, but everything became warm on the other side, the frig side. I had it repaired about a year and a half ago to the tune of $165. Then about 6 months ago the problem reoccurred, but instead of paying for another repair I figured out that if I used my blow dryer I could defrost the ice from the coils on my own.Unfortunately, the problem reoccurs more frequently now and I have to manually defrost the coils almost every week. This past weekend things finally came to an end as no matter how many times I manually defrosted the coils, it would be fully iced up again with an hour or so. Also, all the time it is acting up it just sucks up electricity, and I have notice a spike upwards on my energy bill. It must be related to the frig. So, I bit the bullet and bought a used frig on craigslist just to hold me over until I have time to do research on what appliance brand is indeed reliable. I should of done this before I bought my Maytag appliances from Home Depot. As far as my other Maytag appliances, here is their current condition. Microwave about the stove: the handle broke off a little less than 2 years after purchase. Stove: now has rust on the front of stove, at the bottom of the stove which is a pull out drawer.Dishwasher: not working at all. The start button doesnt work. Normally, you just push the button and a green light comes on and it begins the first cycle. This is no longer happening and no green light comes on. Refrigerator: Took it to the dumps this morning to be recycled. Cant believe it, all of these appliances are nothing but crap and I will never purchase another Maytag. I have shared my experiences with all my family and friends and have encouraged them to avoid Maytag, as it is not even close to being the product it used to be. Another piece of junk coming from somewhere other than here in the USA. We lose jobs here in the US, and then end up buying the goods from another country that makes inferior products. How stupid can we get!

Just a year after purchase, this Maytag Bravos Washer stopped spinning the clothes. It never washed worth a damn anyway. I paid extra money for a quality product from a known brand name and I was taken to the cleaners. Never buy a Maytag product unless you want to replace it in a year.

Maytag washer manufacture changes are not worth a dime. I suspect EPA made the changes, and engineering was made by someone that has never washed a load of clothes in the entire life. There is no agitator and/or supposedly made to conserve water. Well, it saves water alright with each load. There will be a 2 foot circle in the middle of a bed sheet that doesnt get wet; the same with a sweaters. I have checked with different stores and all made the same. And heaven forbid if you dropped a sock and wanted to add it to the load with the mate. The lid locks. I am both angry and dissatisfied and will tell this same story to anyone wanting to purchase a washing machine.

I, too, have had a lousy experience with this washer – it does not correctly sense the amount of clothing in the load, and often fails to get everything wet. Once the cycle starts, it does not necessarily pull everything into the water. You must ball each item up around the center or have sleeves and legs of clothing end up very twisted. Clothing is often very wrinkled and I do not feel that enough water is used to achieve clean clothes. I did get a good response from Maytag, who sent a repairman free of charge after the one year warranty period. He was very gruff and condescending – implying that I am buying the wrong kind of clothing. He reset the washer which improved the water levels, but now it is back to its old tricks. Hate, hate, hate this washer. Now it is failing to start unless lid is slammed shut! May get a new one in a black Friday deal, but have to figure out how to ditch this one while retaining my integrity/honesty to buyer.

I bought the Maytag Bravo XL MVWB725W washing machine and dryer pair in August of 2015. 2 months after I bought the pair the thermostat went out on the dryer. It was under warranty so it was fixed and no problems after that. In July of 2016 I have my first stainless steel hose break at the fitting because of corrosion flooding my laundry room. I thought it was a fluke so I put another one. The next hose started to corrode in September 2016. We thought there was some weird chemical reaction going on between the hose and the filter on the back of the machine. So we changed to rubber hoses in September. Since then we have gone through 6 sets of rubber hoses. We have had the water company out, they say our water is fine. A plumber out, our new water heater is fine as is our plumbing. An electrician, who changed an outlet and put a grounding wire on our house water line. And an appliance repair man, he found the problem so he called Whirlpool who makes Maytag. There is corrosion on the water temp control. However nobody has EVER seen this problem and doesnt know how to fix it. Not even Whirlpool. And Whirlpool says its my house. Im at a dead end with a washer that is constantly going through hoses. It really doesnt wash clothes very well either unless you put a lot of stain remover on the clothing before and wash it in hot water. And yes it is noisy. Dont buy this product.

We purchased a Maytag refrigerator with bottom freezer and French doors, in March of 2015, Model No. MFF2258DEM00. Its adjustable shelves and adjustable door bins were big points in its favor, at least in my eyes. So far both the fridge and freezer cool fine. The automatic ice maker was never connected, so we obviously have had no problems there. However, within a few months of purchase the bar that supports--and provides tracks for--the vegetable and fruit bins broke. It was replaced, but within another few months it had broken again.This is a DESIGN DEFECT that wont be remedied by replacing the item. The bar, which is plastic, hangs from a thin lip about 1/2 long by 1/8 thick. Thats way too flimsy to support the weight of one bin, much less two. There is no way to repair the bar. The entire assemblage needs to be redesigned and remade from sturdier material. Its not simply the inconvenience of having bins that dont operate smoothly. With their track broken, the bins rest on the glass top of the meat and cheese drawer--and threaten to break that. Theyve already caused the door to that drawer to crack.

I bought a Maytag MEDB835DW0 s/n M51202974 just about 2 months ago brand new. After less than 2 months it malfunctioned that it would not start. I called the customer service center on Sept 11, 2015 to report my problem. The rep I got was polite and caring and said she would keep on top of this. On Monday I called the customer service again to get an update. They could not locate one of the authorized repair people. The one they found did call me back but I was out of their service area and would not service my dryer. I was told that my problem was turned over to their Maytag/Whirlpool research or resource to find a repair and I would be advised within 7 days. They did give me options, I could take my clothes to a laundromat, which is 17 miles away where I love and they wont pay for my gas. Or I could get my own repair center but they would only cover up to $150 of the repair in labor cost and the part would have to come from Maytag/Whirlpool center. Then I would have to send my invoice to Maytag/Whirlpool for reimbursement. Now a company that cant get me a company to fix my dryer is going to send me my money back to me in a timely manner? I dont think so... Now on Monday after talking to the customer service I got a request to fill out a survey of my experience. I filled it in with details and today they called me from the corporate off in Benton Harbor regarding my survey. Well I finally thought I would have some action on this... Oh no was I wrong, they wanted to know why I filled it that way. I told them that this is a warranty issue. They did not offer me anything new but the same crap that the customer service offered. I now have a dryer less than 2 months old that I paid cash for. I am also 70 years old and on a fixed income as I explained to the Benton Harbor. It is quite evident that they could care less about customer service and their warranty. They do advertise on TV the Maytag repairman. Trust me this person does not exist and now I have $700+ item that I should put out on my lawn, take off the door and use it as a planter... and have a sign on THIS IS MAYTAG. DO NOT PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM THEM. I am so frustrated with this issue I want to scream.

This is my THIRD dishwasher, and by far the best. The Bosch machine I had before that was a catastrophe: mediocre cleaning, intense filter cleaning required - at least every two days - and, with a pretended noise level of 47 dB, MUCH noisier than the 50 dB announced by Maytag. Somebody is laughing at someone! To sum up: the Maytag MDB4949SHZ cleans dishes incredibly well, is very silent and requires no filter cleaning.

Duck bill valve for defrost water from freezer malfunctions, water flows into freezer freezes, then eventually overflows onto floor. Huge problem for folks with wood floors. Also a slip/fall danger especially for the elderly. When the repair line is contacted, they deny the problem and say you are the only one. But if you do your research, you find there are hundreds of complaints and in November 2013 they issue a service bulletin, but its internal, not meant for consumers to find out. So if you have this problem, go to the Consumer Product Safety Commission and fill out a complaint. Maybe then something may come of it.

I dont even bother repairing those things. Customer calls and I say, Sorry, those are worthless. I did try but gave up. Buy Speed Queen. Traditional, heavy duty, with three-year warranty. Whirlpool who owns Maytag doesnt give a crap. They want their warranty repairmen to pass drug tests but no longer give appliance training. Speed Queen is built in Wisconsin. Who knows who is building the Maytag crap. Another customer had a similar problem with Maytag stove, 1 year old. Whirlpool and Menards said, Sorry, you didnt buy the extended warranty. I have conversations with just about every customer about junk appliances these days. Try to find used 20-year old Maytag for quality. Good luck.

Like everyone else got that French door fridge and was also duped on that 1 yr warranty - a 95 dollar repair visit for a 485 repair job on a 1200 dollar purchase. Shame on them. Im gonna fix my new floor and replace that frozen bottom, leaking on the left, non-working ice maker 2 yr old refrigerator. Very disappointed with the whole thing and sorry for all of our losses.

I spent extra money on a commercial grade Maytag dryer $1300 before taxes because it had a 10 year warranty. The motor and drum quit - and Maytag refuses to honour the warranty. I am appalled by their dishonesty and lack of integrity. I do not recommend them to anyone.

I bought a Maytag stainless steel refrigerator w/ freezer on the bottom. Since 6 months fridge being in my house I started to have problems, rust on the doors, water coming out of the bottom, freezer door got stuck w/ ice and couldnt be opened, butter, eggs, milk can be frozen one day and the next they have mold and bacteria because of the changes in the cooling system, among my problems. And what? Well yes thank you so much for the guarantee Maytag has in Puerto Rico, IT SUCKS! They been in my house more than 5 times and nobody really says whats wrong. They supposedly change the computer, still having problems, and this was done after more than three times visits from Maytag guarantee. Im still paying for the damn fridge and DO NOT HAVE A RELIABLE REFRIGERATOR. Im wasting too much food, Im obligated to buy food almost every day cause Im scare to give something that may be bad and my family will be food poisoned. Whos going to pay me or my family if something happens. Maytag is still running falsely commercial ads and somebody MUST STOP THEM. This appliances are not free or cheap. PLEASE help us because Ive learned that Im not the only one having problems in Puerto Rico w/ Maytag. Also I believe Maytag is using technicians not ruled by the government of Puerto Rico and thats why the service is horrible.

DO NOT BUY Whirlpool Corp Appliances, ESPECIALLY MAYTAG. They do not stand behind the units they sell. We dropped $600 on this Commercial Grade wash machine (5.3 cu. ft. High-Efficiency White Top Load Washing Machine with Deep Clean Option, ENERGY STAR Model MVW7232HW) and paid to upgrade the lines to stainless steel. It died after 22 months, a bad seal leaked water internally, fried some components (no water ever leaked from the unit onto the floor) and despite there being a 10-year limited manufacturer warranty on parts sticker on the unit... the fine print says only the tub and motor are covered.There is no way we could have known the seal was leaking and it was not the result of misuse (overloading) or abuse. The parts to fix it are back-ordered months and cost more than a new unit after install. Glad I paid $150 to learn all this. It also did not wash great on most settings. Purchased at Home Depot, they refused to stand behind the product as well.

I have nothing but great reviews for my Maytag experience... In approx 1975 I purchased a Maytag W&D, Model MAH4000 MDE4000, when their advertisement was portraying Maytag repairmen as the loneliest repairmen. Maytag was so dependable that the repairman was NOT needed...and it was true... That Maytag W&D set lasted til approx 1998 when it was upgraded to the Maytag Neptune MAH4000 series... Had a minor problem with mold in the washer, but Sears and Maytag replaced the seal and made another modification... We also dried the seal at the end of the washing day and left the door slightly ajar between uses... Have not again had that problem.I have since given the Neptune set to my daughter and the washer and dryer are still in operation, WORKING SUPERBLY I might add... So I am searching for a good quality Model MAH4000 and MDE4000 to replace my current much older, yet functional Whirlpool... It may need some repairs and about a year ago, I spent $173 to replace the Pump which was clogged by a sock inadvertently stuffed around the top of the drum when too many items were pushed in at one time. I prefer not to throw additional money at this machine! So, if you know of a Quality pre-owned Maytag Neptune washer and dryer in the Lexington KY area, please contact me...

I had a stackable Maytag dryer that was bought in 2016 but only used during the summer of 2017. Last May the dryer stopped heating. I contacted Maytag and they sent a repairman a week or so later. He identified the problem in the electronic control and ordered a replacement part. The part came and he installed it a week later. The part was faulty and he ordered a replacement for the replacement. It arrived a week later and also did not work. He said he had problems with replacement parts but contacted the technical service department at Maytag as he did the first time. The technical service person said there were problems associated with new software being not compatible with dryers in the last year and we needed a new control panel. I contacted Maytag again waiting the usual hour to get through on the phone. They agreed to replace the parts for free and ordered a control panel that arrived a week later. The technician installed both parts but they did not work. I contacted Maytag again and after waiting the required hour talked to a person who said she would contact the department who could arrange a replacement. They contacted me a few days later and said they would supply a replacement for $250. This was delivered a week or so later but they did not have a stacking kit and returned to the delivery company with the dryer. A week later they returned with the stacking kit but forgot the dryer. A week later they returned with both the dryer and stacking kit but the installer (always a different person) said he was too big to get in the space behind the dryer and that the venting supplied was wrong.I bought new venting from Home Depot and a new installer arrived a week later. He said the new venting was not necessary and in fact wrong and installed the dryer. It ran but foolishly I did not check to see if it heated and neither did the installers or if they did took off without letting me know that the dryer, like the one that was replaced did not heat. I discovered this a couple of days later when I tried to use it. I contacted Maytag and they setup an appointment for a new service technician to visit. I contacted Maytag again today hoping to get some explanation of what might happen next or some explanation. They had no idea but did inform me that they would not replace the new dryer but would start repairs again.

My old washing machine was about 25 years old but still doing a fantastic job getting the laundry done. When the dryer died we decided to replace both machines so theyd match. I had been setting money aside for years in preparation for this purchase. Ive only had them for two weeks and I stay awake at night wondering what GENIUS decided you can get clothes cleaner in a tablespoon of water than you can in an adequate amount of water?! My old washer could wash a load of laundry in about 20 minutes. Again, what GENIUS decided taking over an hour to wash a load of laundry in a tablespoon of water was a better way?! What working woman would choose to double the time needed to do laundry and then not feel confident that the clothes are clean?!!! I am so mad and frustrated and disappointed and I dont know what to do. I wish I could yell at somebody!!!

My Maytag Bravo washing machine is very basic and convenient. It was the first appliance I bought when I purchased my new home in September of 2019. it is commercial grade so I’m able to wash everything from towels to comforters to heavy coats. I like the clean lines of it and the knobs are easy to use and are perfect for my needs. It has wrinkle control, deep water wash, a variety of temperatures including tap, cold, cool, warm and hot. There is a fabric softener feature and an extra rinse. The push button Start is perfect and easy to use.

We purchased the washer and dryer pair...beautiful looking, no agitator, water efficient. Load sensing feature. TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE. WORST APPLIANCE WE HAVE EVER PURCHASED. Used it 3 times. Clothes would not rinse, left white soap residue in the folds of the black clothes, even after a second wash. Home Depot was just the GREATEST, they replaced it for us. We went with a less expensive model GE. With the agitator and full water load...save yourself A LOT OF TROUBLE, stay away from Maytag Bravos XL.

Dishwasher Model MDB7749SBM1 - When I returned home from work today, I noticed the cancel drain button was on and the unit was continuing to try and drain but the dishes were not clean and the cascade pod was still inside the unit unused. I then proceeded to run another cycle to clean the dishes and what happened next simply amazed me. I pressed the jet clean button, tough scrub and 2 hour delay button and thought I was all set but the start/resume button would not engage or light up at all and subsequently the cancel/drain button lit up and the unit started draining. Now the control lock and start/resume button just flashes intermittently and wont disengage. I purchased my unit along with several other new Maytag appliances when I renovated my kitchen. I guess the microwave, stove and refrigerator is next -- unit are only 29 months old. Any assistance will be greatly appreciated. Im in deep ish I guess.

If I want to line dry something, first I have to pick off all the lint. Even when I use the dryer, I still have to pick off lint and there’s often creases with dirt dried right in. I have to inspect everything that comes out of the washer to see if it is clean before I dry it. This doesn’t save water, as I often have to wash things at least twice. Awful! Also, ridiculous. A wash machine is supposed to get things clean.

This was purchased 3/25/2010 with the Home Depot Service Contract thru 3/2015 . We have already had a service call in 2013. We were OK until January 2015. Now we join many other customers with the leaking defroster. We have taken all the steps of the other customers. We went and called for a service appointment. Weve spoken to Maytag Customer Service 800-253-1301. Ive asked if there was recall? NO! I asked if there was log made of my call, NO! Any work done had to with Maytag Authorized Repair Person. The Home Depot Contract use a Non-Authorized Service Person. Weve gone to Home Depot. We are in a catch 22! We have spent good money on this refrigerator. Out of sight, out of mind. We will go back to Home Depot Again!

Bravos 4.3 High Efficiency Washer - The worst washer ever. I recently returned from burying my step-mother. She actually used the same washer and dryer, by Maytag, for over 50 years. Those days are gone forever. This is my second set of Maytags in ten years. The first literally stopped working just after the first year warranty ran out. I still have them inside my pantry, like a set of anchors. Notwithstanding that, I thought, Maytag was a good brand, it must have just been the style of machines, so I purchased these in January. After over six months of usage, I am amazed at how many times I have to wash a single load of clothing to get the items clean. Who cares if the machine saves water? What was wrong with having an agitator? I literally have to remove freshly laundered clothing, turn it over and run the wash again to get the top of the laundry clean. I have had a blanket finish for the fourth time to get it clean, only to have to hang it outside because it is so full of water, the weight keeps it from spinning properly. And why would you remove a timer feature which permits very busy, working people, to wash their items while they are on the way home or in the middle of the night so that there is no waiting to pop the clothes in the dryer? None of the cycles takes less than 80 minutes to complete. Who has 80 minutes to wait on the washer to do its job? I am so upset about the amount of money I spent on all of these machines. Just think, I could have brought the over 50 years old set home from my step-mothers and had a washer and dryer do what they were supposed to do -- clean the clothes.

I bought the Maytag MVWX700XL1 (Bravos X) model in 2012 from Home Depot. I paid over $800 for this washer. I knew I was in trouble when I found dry spots on clothes after the washing completed. I started using the Bulky cycle. So much for saving water. It has not been overused, its only two of us. Today the spin cycle sounds like a train. The washing cycle has stopped working completely. Im very dissatisfied with this washer.

Purchased in 08 for a second home, we visit every other weekend mostly in summer. I have never been pleased with the set really. It takes too long to wash/dry, clothes get tangled, dryer goes off on first buzzer, wrinkled and now, the control panel has gone out on washer and they say it is approximately $500 to fix. I have probably used it 20 times a year. I have Maytag in Lex, which I have had for 15 years, that is 100% all the way around better.

I had the exact same experience as the Tampa person with my Maytag dishwasher (Model: MDBTT60AWW). It was not cleaning the dishes, even when I thoroughly rinsed them. Plus, it started leaking midway through the cycle. Since the warranty was expired, I purchased an extended warranty in July 2012 for $296 (yes, in hindsight, I should have just bought a new appliance, not Maytag). I had 3 visits from 2 different technicians, both telling me the dishwasher did not leak. One telling me I was using the wrong kind of detergent and thats why dishes werent getting cleaned. The other telling me that there were too much suds and that could cause it to leak. So, I should pour a tablespoon of cooking oil (yes, cooking oil) in the dishwasher when it starts leaking and that will cut down the suds. I dont think so!Then, I found out a couple of weeks ago that this model was under a recall since 2010, not related to the leak at all. Yet, Maytag still sold me the extended warranty (wheres the ethics of that?). I requested a pro-rated refund of the balance on the warranty - and wouldnt you know that with the technicians service calls, the amount of time used on the warranty (6 months) plus an admin fee - I have used $296.48 of the warranty amount. It is almost to the exact penny of what I originally paid, so I will not be receiving any refund. They are only giving me a debit card of $150 or $250 once I buy a new Maytag to replace the recalled model. I do not want to continue down this frustrating path known as Maytag appliances.

This review is for a Maytag dishwasher. I do not know the Make/Model. It did a very poor job of washing the dishes. It may have been the city water, but no matter what I put into the machine to keep the dishes from being cloudy it never worked. It became disabled about a year after we moved in, and it was only about 6 years old. However, there were two families before me that used it and I have no idea how they used it. It was the first and last Maytag dishwasher I will ever use.

First let me say I have used Maytag products for 46 years. A little over a year ago bought a new Maytag Centennial Washer (Model MVWC555DW) for a cousin which was responsible to looking after as he had been brain damaged since birth. Needless to say when I started having trouble with clothes not washing and having to bring to my home and wash was not satisfactory. This machine never worked right but until after the 1 year warranty could get by. Needless to say I will never buy another Maytag appliance but now have a Maytag washer/dryer, stove and dishwasher in my home. Maytag is Not the quality that is use to be. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS MACHINE AND ALSO UNDERSTAND FROM LOWES THEY HAVE HAD A LOT OF TROUBLE WITH THIS MODEL.

It went bad, then I called a technician who replaced the compressor. After a few months, it broke down again after I had bought new parts for it. I was very dissatisfied with how the refrigerator was built. I spent lots of money on it, and it wasnt worth it.

Home Depot is selling defective appliances manufactured by Whirlpool and refuses to provide a full refund. I purchased a Maytag washer and dryer from Home Depot in August of 2010.Washer broke in February of 2011. No parts available for repair, Whirlpool replaced washer after 4 weeks. This washer broke in July 2011. No parts are available for repair until August 17th.

Freezer does not freeze well. Causes most our food to get freezer burned. We tried turning it up and down but made no difference. Actually went and bought a separate freezer for meats.

I have the Maytag Gemini Double oven 5 burner stove. It is great! I use the smaller oven more than the bigger oven. Holidays and cooking are a lot nicer with my range oven. The turkey can be cooking in the lower oven while pies are baking in the smaller upper oven. I have had my range for a while now but I have not once had a problem with it.

Our Maytag refrigerator is leaking water all over my kitchen floor to the point that my floor tile has lifted. The ref. is a French door with water and ice in the door and freezer on the bottom. We have been cleaning up puddles of water at least several times a day. I see that this is not an isolated problem, as others have complained about this defect doing the same thing with their Maytag refs. Why hasnt ConsumerAffairs demanded a recall on these expensive defective refrigerators to date? I am truly disgusted.

The Maytag Bravos XL Gas Dryer I purchased less than a year ago has stopped working three times. The dryer stops producing heat. I am now about to call Maytag repair again and waste time and energy setting up a warranty service call. I spent a lot of money in order to go to the Laundromat on a Sunday. Do not purchase this dryer if you would like to be able to dry clothes at home with any type of consistency or confidence. Arrrggg!

We purchased our Maytag Refrigerator brand new, about 18 months ago. It always ran loud so the repairman came out during the 12 month warranty period. He told us to unplug and reset it, but that never did the trick. Eight months later, the fridge stopped cooling. We called our local repairman and he told us ($97 later) that the compressor was out. He said we should contact Maytag because the compressor should be under a 5-year warranty. Then the nightmare began. I spoke to four different reps with a total hold time of about 2 hours. Two of the reps put me on hold to get a supervisor and/or consult another rep and I was mysteriously cut off each time. One rep told me my compressor wasnt covered under warranty. The last rep I spoke to told me it was covered and he scheduled a Maytag repairman to come and replace the compressor. I was thrilled. The repairman came out and informed me that the compressor was indeed out and handed me a bill for $137. I asked why I was being billed and he said because that was the way that Maytag had ordered the service call. I told him that the Maytag rep had assured me that Maytag was covering the repair. He apologized and said that not only was I obliged to pay for the diagnosis (which I didnt need because I had already paid my local guy for the same information), but that it would cost $900 to replace the compressor. I was flabbergasted. I called Maytag and they denied all responsibility. They said that even though the rep had assured me of Maytags commitment to replace the compressor under the 5-year warranty, he had made a mistake and I wasnt actually covered. So I paid our local repairman to replace the compressor, because by that time, we had been living out of ice chests for 2 weeks. That was 3 weeks ago. Now the unit is freezing water on the bottom of the freezer and then leaking water on the floor. It is unconscionable that this company be allowed to defraud people to this extent. I will never buy a Maytag again and I would like to be informed of any class action suit. This company should be deeply, deeply ashamed of itself.

I bought my first centennial washer less than four years ago, warrantied that machine out. It was replaced by best buy because of the warranty that I purchased. We are a family of four, with that in mind the replacement machine was a model year newer and it last just over a year and quit. I bought the machine anticipating that it will last me the next 10 years. With two children at home now that is not working, all I have to do on replace a new machine. The repair shop has told me that they get more of the Maytag centennial machines and then any other washing machine is going to cost me more to repair it than to buy a new machine because I had faith in the Maytag products for many many years. This particular machines are extremely hard to diagnose as to what causes the problem or what the problem is and could take a long time to get it fixed as well as the expense of getting it fixed. I would not recommend another Maytag product nor will Maytag ever get any more money from us. This particular product has become a piece of junk that I cant even get rid of to recycling. Maytag has become a joke and this machine has become a 500 dollar hunk of junk in my opinion.

I purchased the Maytag metal interior two years ago, the very first year I had to replace the control panel board... Now, the panel went out again, after calling the Maytag executive office, they finally sent me the part, telling me I had to pay to get it fixed. That was just three months ago... Presently, the dishwasher has quit running water in the cycle... I will NEVER purchase another Maytag dishwasher... thinking you get The Best doesnt mean what you think... BEWARE...

Have owned Maytags (washer and dryers) for 40 years. I bought a Bravos top load washer and matching dryer because we gave our old set to a daughter leaving for college. That was less than four years ago! We bought this because it conserved water and there would only be my husband and myself home. So laundry needs would be minimal. The washer quit draining and starting making a terrible noise several days ago. Immediately called repair service - I knew from the onset this was going to be a big problem because when I told them the model, they responded - uh oh! Two days later service man comes to assess repair and lifts machine up and tells me bad seal has leaked to gear box and ruined it. Soooo for a machine that is less than 4 years old, I will have to pay $280 for part, $79 for service call, $60 for labor and $35 to have them pick it up and redeliver (because the repair is too big to be made in my home). $454 for a machine that gets minimal use!!!! I can add another $100 plus and buy a brand new machine. Why should I have to??? In doing some research, I found out this is a common issue with this model and Maytag has paid for the repair of other washers because it is a common problem. Even the serviceman said that and recommended I get a hold of Maytag. Their response - sorry mam you dont gave an extended warranty. (NOW I HAVE A LEMON!) Guess my next step is to write a letter to Maytag Corporate Office. I will keep going up the ladder until they address this flawed machine problem! One thing is for certain - I will never ever buy another Maytag product of any kind or will I ever recommend it. They are just not reliable. Guess, nowadays they are considered throw away products - keep them a few years and throw them away because its not worth your money and effort to repair them :-(

I purchased my washing machine in July 2020 and it was broken by November. It took months without a washer before the warranty finally replaced my machine. I had the second machine less than 6 months when the water pump went out on it. They told me it would be two weeks for the repairman to come out. In the meantime my clothes were locked in the washer half full of dirty water. They told me we would have to force the lock to retrieve the clothes so they would not mold. The repairman called, never showed up, just called to ask what was wrong. Told me he would order parts and I had to wait 21 days to see if they would be able to find them. Today is day 21. I called the warranty back and was told it would be escalated and someone would call me in 4 days with a resolution. In the meantime I have spent $60 a week doing laundry for my family of 6 at the laundromat for MONTHS. Out of the 18 months have dealt with Maytag, I have spent more than 6 months at the laundromat. When I asked to be reimbursed the money I have spent they offered me a free 6 month extended warranty or a fifty dollar gift card. This product is garbage! The customer service is garbage. Dont waste your money.

This is the best microwave that we have ever purchased. I especially like the baked potato choice. Its also very easy to use and clean. I would definitely recommend it.

We bought our front load washer and dryer about 5 years ago and have had no problems with either. We also purchased a Maytag French door refrigerator 2 months ago to replace our Sears Elite brand when its compressor went out after 27 months (Ill never buy another Sears appliance).

I purchase my Maytag Side by Side Refrigerator back in 2006 New. I purchase a Maytag based on the supposedly quality of their Products. And I have stove, and dishwasher as well. A week ago, after purchasing groceries, and made it home. The Refrigerator had gone out. I tried calling Maytag without success and broke down and called sears repair to come out. Well they made it today, and I was informed the Compressor had gone out, and would cost me $998.00 to repair. Of course I told him to get out of my home, because at that price I could purchase a new one. And you can bet it want be a Maytag ever again. I am so disappointed in their claims of being the best. We bought this from our local big box retailer paying $433.87 after installation, the oven, haul away and home delivery. Two years and 3 months later its a boat anchor. Display is cold and dark after stating we needed to open and close the door before it would heat. We did but it kept displaying the same message. Unplugged it, turned circuit off per Maytag customer service line, still nothing. It is no longer made and you cant get parts. It is useless. The 10 year warranty just covers the magnet and the cavity.

I bought a Maytag Bravos Quiet Series 300 washer just over two years ago from Home Depot. The control board and sensor went out last week. The service technician seemed rather surprised that a newer machine would have that kind of non-wear-and-tear problem and suggested that I contact Maytag/Whirlpool to see if they could help offset the parts costs, as the repair was going to cost over $600! The customer service agent I spoke with said that there was nothing they could do because the item did not have an extended warranty. I explained to her that we purchased this unit, even though it was out of our price range, because we were told that it would last a lifetime. I would have been happy if it would have just lasted 5 years! She was very detached and it was clear that Maytag/Whirlpool was not going to stand behind their product. I will now take the repair money and go buy a new washer. You can be sure that it absolutely will not have the Maytag/Whirlpool brand!

I would like Maytag to repair or replace this dishwasher. It has only been installed since November 2014. The only button that works is the auto clean. None of the buttons work. I thought Maytag was a reputable business.

Less than four years ago we purchased a new set of Maytag appliances, refrigerator, stove, dishwasher, microwave, and upright freezer. To date, the only appliance we have not had a problem with is the microwave. The bottom element is not working on our stove model # MER8775AS. We will never buy Maytag or Whirlpool products again. We paid for a brand new washer and dryer from Maytag/Whirlpool. Right on the machines it has stamped in a metal plate 10 year warranty. So at 4 years when my washer started screeching and smoking I called for service. Yes, there had been a leak that burned out something in the engine and the bearings were shot etc etc. But they have been back 3 times. Each time they lack some part. I first called them on July 29, 2020. Today is October 13, 2020. They have still not got the washer repaired. I need to do wash every day. We are a family. We also have a senior in her 80s. And dogs. I need to do wash every day. So for weeks I went to the laundromat. That cost a fortune. Then a couple of weeks ago I impulse bought a new washing machine. A Samsung. On sale. Doesnt match the Maytag dryer. And the old washing machine got moved out to the garage. Its the pandemic. I cant keep going to the laundromat. What good is a warranty if Maytag/Whirlpool always has excuses for why they dont have parts. Its the motor. The very basis of the machine. It took them 2 weeks just to look for one. You wouldnt believe the excuses they make when we talk. But I am really unhappy with the way it all worked out. What good is a repaired machine 3 months later than I needed it. I had to buy a new machine. Why didnt they just tell me to do that on day 1 so I could avoid the laundromat. Why are they spending so much money to basically repair everything in that washer when they could have just bought me the new machine. When is a warranty not a warranty at all, but just a big lie?

We had a wonderful Bisque Maytag double oven in 2002. We bought new stainless appliances this year, and have been very disappointed with the range. Why do you have to hold the temp and timer settings one increment at a time to set it, and why do you have to push Start after that? Frequently we set the temp or timer and walk away, only to find that the oven or timer did not begin because we forgot the new step. When the timer goes off, you have to push it twice to get it to reset. The burners themselves have too many confusing pictures for the settings. What happened to low heat, medium and high and hash marks in between? The stove top itself is a nightmare to keep clean. Give me back my coil stove any day!!!

I am absolutely disgusted with this Maytag Bravos XL washer. Have owned it 6 months and cant wait to get rid of it. We live on a farm and have cattle. If jeans go in the machine with mud on them, they will come out with mud on them. I have tried soak, deep water wash, power wash. Nothing works. I might as well put a wash tub in my back yard and wash by hand. Anything black must be washed by itself as it will come out covered in lint. How did this machine ever go on the market? Expensive mistake. Please do not buy this machine.

This set is a GREAT ONE! I love my HQ washer and dryer. The washer has so many settings to choose from for all different loads of clothes. It washes and spins everything great. My dryer is so nice! I can dry a load of whites: towels, washcloths, hand towels etc in record amount of time. I would highly recommend them both.

We purchased a Maytag Bravo in 2011. With only three adults in the house using it for regular clothes washing, we were surprised when we had to call a repairman and the charge was going to be over $500 to fix the transmission and clutch. We had the same problem as described in many of the other comments, i.e., door sensor would not work properly and machine would not spin. Not even worth it to fix. Word is that Maytag is made by Whirlpool and if this is true, it would explain the disappointment. We have replaced more Whirlpool appliances than I can count. Never again Maytag!

Absolutely the worst experience ever. The repair people that were sent to address the problem were great but the Maytag people did not care. I bought a new electric convection oven, the convection never worked. The repair people came out several times and checked and adjusted to try to fix the issues but the oven is totally inconsistent. Even the repair people thought I should have gotten a better response from Maytag! Maytag just said that I had a repair but not replace warranty - of course the warranty period is over now. I had trouble from the beginning, I would never buy another Maytag product. I thought that a company that supposedly has a great reputation would care more about their customer.

Great when it works properly and doesnt leak! Quietness, cycles. Everything that had to go in went in, well laid out. Stainless steel, clean, good looking. Anything with the Maytag name doesnt last any more than a couple of years. Gone through a washer and dryer with no help from Maytag. The dishwasher was replaced by Maytag because the main circuit board was on backorder for more than 5 months. Washer was replaced with a Samsung. If I had to replace the dishwasher out of pocket I would go to Korea or Europe to do so. Maytag, what a huge fall in quality and reliability!

We purchased this washer 3/25/15 for $873.77, we also got the matching dryer, for the same amount. This washer, never washed good, it is simply a bad design, I dont know, what type of mind altering products the designer was on at the time, but it must of been some good stuff, since all brands jumped on the wagon. This is a POS, I have contacted Maytag, and they just ignore me. We need a class action lawsuit against them, they think they can take our money, and laugh at us.

Mine is the same sad story as all the others. Bought our Maytag dishwasher in 2013 (model MDB7749) and 15 months later, the control panel went out. We have contacted Maytag and they basically told us it could be our fault it doesnt work, so they wont fix it. Now we have learned that this is an issue that A LOT of people are having. We called their special number for this problem and were told they still wouldnt fix it since we called BEFORE having it repaired. So my question is, how is this legal and why arent they recalling this product? I know that there was a class action lawsuit against Maytag for this problem. Why dont we hold them accountable as well? This is bad business and we shouldnt allow them to take advantage of hard working people like this.

It does not matter what mode you select, every single piece of clothing comes out a scrunched up wrinkled mess. I have to wash all clothing in bulky sheets mode because it is the only mode where the clothing actually gets submerged in the water. This washing machine is extremely loud and it is without a doubt, the worst purchase I have ever made. I have never written a review before, but this product is so horrible and frustrating. If I can persuade one person not to purchase one, I feel that I have done a good deed.

I have been a Maytag customer for many, many years. In November, 2014 we decided to buy a new matching pair. No problems with dryer but the washer has been a nightmare from day one. Have had at least 5 service calls (lost count). The washer constantly smells. Clothes are not clean. Have to buy and run Affresh tablets weekly. Spend more on wash machine cleaner than laundry detergent. Funny thing is Maytag/Whirlpool makes the expensive cleaning tablets. The customer service at Maytag has not been helpful from day one. They recommended I buy an $150.00 extended warranty. Stupidly I agreed and regret doing it. They still have not fix the machine under the one year original warranty. NEVER BUY A MAYTAG BRAVOS WASHER.

2013 We purchased from Lowes Maytag washer and dryer front load stackable. We live in a house 1890. We have a closet that these units go into so we are restricted to what brand we can buy. WE read the reviews. People must lie or are paid to write good ones. Within a few weeks the washer was giving us trouble. The door latch was not closing properly and it would take up to 20-30 min. to get it to start. Called and they said the latch was stuck. Again started having problems on and off. Months went by and had another service call. Same issue. Fixed it again. 2014 again same problem. We have to order a new latch and some other part. They could not get the part. Called Maytag directly and they were back ordered. What does that tell you. This is a major problem so much so that no one anywhere had the parts. 6 wks to finally get it and got it fixed. But in the meantime, the dryer was not working correctly. The clothes were damp and lint was all over. It was like a steam bath. They came out and when they looked at the back of the dryer it was burnt. Now this is what upset me. He said it could have caught fire and burnt down our house. Nice. The dryer was shot. They said to fix it would cost more than it was worth. Our warranty gave us a new dryer. 3 wks later I have my washer and dryer back working. In the meantime we have spent more time at the laundromat than at home. Brand new washer and dryer and are going to the laundromat. We had the dryer 5 days before it stopped working. Brand new dryer. Called and got a service call. The spring on the start button was not correctly put in. Who inspects these products. This was not right from the factory. So they fix it. Said if it happened again they would need to replace the entire thing. I do not know what that means. That was Dec. End of Dec. the washing machine is not running through the cycle. It had weird display on the washer. Thought maybe it was overloaded. Had to cancel and drain and then hit drain and spin. This takes not only more time but more electricity. I put in 2 sheets and it did it again. Had a few loads that ran properly and again it started. Called for service. He comes out and the motor that runs the belt to spin and some circuit board is shot. They call 2 days later and say that no parts can be found anywhere. WTH! It is 18 mos old and already the parts are extinct. So the warranty company said it was not worth fixing. They are giving us a new washer.I remember the commercials about Maytag that the repairmen had nothing to do. Well I thought it was because they did not break down. No... they cannot find parts. This is unacceptable. We have to go through the inconvenience of them not working and schlepping to the laundromat baskets of clothes. In the winter this is not fun. We are retired. Have to walk down icy steps. I have a washer/dryer upstairs and I cannot use them. Dont work. Not just the aggravation of dealing with repairs but not getting parts available, then having to wait to get money back to order a new washer and dryer and then get the dryer and 5 days later it doesnt work. Now we have to wait 2 wks for a new washer. It better work. Have to buy the warranty over again on each product cause they fulfill it when they buy you a new product. So this costs us extra money. The money we pay at the laundromat. The cost of electricity every time we have to run the washer 3-4 times to get it to spin out the water so I can dry them.To say I am upset is an understatement. I was told by a rep at Lowes, well Maytag has about 3 lemons a yr and you just got all of them. That was their consolation to our problem. I think Maytag needs to inspect their product. Our house could have burnt down. It is not a matter of parts going bad but damn the stuff is not even 2 yrs old. And the dryer was 5 days old when it stopped working. I have a Maytag Washer and Dryer that I am very happy with. I have had both of them for about 6 years. I had a problem with the soap dispenser not working properly shortly after I purchased them, but a service technician came and fixed that within a few day. I will probably stick with the same brand when/if I do have to replace them.

In October 2017, I purchased a Maytag MVWB765FW0, thinking that it would live up to the Maytag reputation but I will NEVER buy Maytag again. This machine is more suitable to wash industrial canvas rather than clothing and bedding. All the laundry is twisted and mangled and ends up in a large tangled ball at the bottom of the tub. My clothing is being destroyed faster than I can replace it.

My 16-month old dishwasher, which is not being used everyday, broke its control panel. Maytag will not fix it for free because they only back it for one year. This is a major appliance, shouldnt it last more than 16 months? The cost to repair is almost as much as a new dishwasher.

We purchased this washer 8 months ago, and still do not have a working unit. From the very beginning of installing the new washer we had repeated F4 and E1 error codes. A technician was sent out three separate times and they replaced the ACU each time only to have the same error codes recur. This unfortunately took 5 months as each time the ACU part was on backorder. After 3 failed attempts they agreed to replace the washer with a new one. We were dumbfounded when the new unit arrived and we had the same F4 and E1 error codes! They have again replaced the ACU and still we have the same error codes! They are sending yet another ACU but we have little confidence this will work and we are at a painful 8 months with no washer.

Rust on two year old Maytag Bravos washing machine - I noticed some rust along the inside lip of the washing machine lid and along the seam near the top of the machine about a week ago. I contacted Sears where we had purchased an extended service agreement. However, the agreement does not cover rust. I contacted Maytag and there is nothing that they can do either. The machine is kept inside the house in the laundry area. We have had two washers in the past 21 years that my husband and I have lived at this house that were much less expensive than the Maytag Bravo. They did not rust. This will be the last Maytag product we will purchase.

I bought a Maytag washer about 4 months ago and the dryer the washing machine has went down a couple of times but I managed to get it to start again. This time it will not start back up. It just as a little water and stuff and will not lock and wash. It never gets the clothes clean and you have to wash them twice or at least a residue on the clothing. I hate this washer and Im very saddened that Maytag will not come out - told me that they had to find someone. There was no one in the area that could fix my washer. It has been nearly a week now and no response from them. Im going to have to buy another washer. I am so upset to spend nearly 800 some dollars on a brand new washing machine and it does not work. I think that was all the complaints that I have seen on this page so somebody needs to put them on the news and also someone needs to start a lawsuit against this company. Shame on you Maytag. I bought the Maytag Bravos XL 5.3 washer because it was advertised to conserve water and it was a good brand, but it was a horrible mistake to buy this washer. The washer barely uses any water to clean properly and it hardly moves any of the clothing. The only thing that does move is the clothes at the bottom while the clothes on the top stays still. After using it for a day, I decided to return it back to Home Depot where I bought it, but they did not accept it and told me to call Maytag to return it. I called and the person who answered gave me different numbers to call. After going through ten different numbers, I finally received someone that could help me and they told me that I could not return the washer. They told me that the only way to return it was if there was a mechanical problem with the washer. It is extremely frustrating because I paid over $800 on this washer and now Im stuck with this garbage because I cant return it. I recommend everyone to not buy this washer otherwise youll get the same problems I am getting. I have to manually stop the washer and move the clothes by hand.

Maytag french door fridge model MFF2558VEW7. I bought this fridge about 3 years ago. Have had nothing but problems. First I had problems with the freezer frosting up, then I had the same problem of ice buildup in bottom of freezer. Now the freezer only gets cold enough to cool drinks and the fridge only gets to about 60 degrees. This is not the only Maytag appliance I have had problems with. I bought a dishwasher a few years ago that quit working just after the warranty ran out. Both bought from Home Depot. After reading other reviews, it seems that appliances bought from Home Depot have had problems too.

After having issues with bearings in a front load of another brand, we decided upon a top load Maytag. We have had it less than a year and we are not happy with the performance. We are using more detergent because the dispenser seems to be bottomless. Only the front of the little pull out drawer is visible and it never seems to reach the fill line when adding liquid detergent. There is no quick wash cycle. Not everything needs a cycle of nearly an hour or more. The spin cycle does not remove nearly as much dampness/water as our previous frontload. The drum is deep making it difficult to retrieve small items such as socks. My biggest disappointment is finding lint residue on the clothing and it remains even after an extra rinse. This is especially visible on dark clothing. Even the lint filter in our dryer fills up much more quickly than before. After researching, I found that others complained of this same problem.

I bought my Maytag Bravos top load washer from Home Depot. In one year. I had the Maytag warranty people out three or four times. The warranty ran out and I purchased an extended warranty from A&E. I have had them out at least five times.I called Maytag and they told me since that I didn’t get the extended warranty from them, that there was nothing they could do for me. I explained to them that this washer cost me over $900 and that I have had numerous repairs on the washer, in which the warranties cost me over $400 so far.How much do I have to keep paying for this lemon? Maytag will not do anything about it! This goes to show you that paying top dollar for a washer does not guarantee you will have a good product. In this economy we can’t afford for this to happen. This is a very bad product and Maytag will not stand behind their own products, but they are willing to charge the consumer high dollar for them. This is a disgrace!

This has been the worst washing machine I have ever owned!!! Purchased 3 years ago and this is the 3rd time the bearings dont work again. It make loud clanking noises. Then fails to spin at all. The first time it broke was the 1st year we owned it. It is sitting in our hallway and I can hardly wait for it to leave my house. Talked to the local appliance dealer and they never recommends these washers. I told dealer I must have gotten a lemon. He replied that it wasnt a lemon, that the machine tubs have gotten so much bigger and they have needed to upgrade the bearing system and are unwilling to do it. Dealer has highly recommended the Speed Queen. Based on the stellar reviews that is what will be coming to our house today. I can hardly wait. I know, its just a washing machine but frustration has overcome me. The Speed Queen has no plastic parts. We went with the knob style as opposed to the electronic push buttons. Less to go wrong. The warranty on the Speed Queen is top of the line, 5-year parts and labor. The salesperson didnt even try to sell me a warranty. No need to. Speed Queen stands by their product. I only recommend the Maytag Bravo XL if you dont have enough stress in your life.

Im furious beyond belief with Maytag. Im furious at myself for being stupid enough to purchase all new Maytag appliances when I purchased this home as I had horrible experiences with them in my former home. This concerns the Maytag over the range microwave oven model MMV4205AA. First of all, within 6 or 7 months after purchasing it while cooking a frozen dinner, the turntable just cracked in half. Maytag wanted $89 to replace it. I knew when the turntable cracked that there were more issues to come. That is not normal in any way for that to occur in a microwave.Problems continued, of course, and with each call to Maytag, they would say the same thing the microwave is out of warranty and refused to assist me. Its not some little table top thing that one can just toss out and buy a new one. I paid about $400 for it from Home Depot. Last week, without it even being turned on, it just stopped working. I checked the electrical supply and conduit to make sure that was okay. I called numerous service organizations who told me this sudden breakdown when the microwave isnt even turned on is a known issue with this model and several other Maytag over the range models. Ive called them (Maytag) three times in the last week and they refuse to provide any allowance and hear the same old thing, the microwave is out of warranty. I was willing to have them even just provide some assistance rather than replace the microwave. Ive been told by numerous service organizations that this is a known issue and that even if they repair it, it will occur again and again and Im best off purchasing a different brand, which I cannot afford. They gave me phone numbers for service organizations authorized to service Maytag products and this just goes to show how out of touch they are. They gave me one that isnt even in business anymore. How professional, not!Warning: Purchase Maytag at your own risk. I give you fair warning. Every single Maytag product Ive ever owned has been a problem. I will never, ever, ever purchase another Maytag product again. I would think just out of decent customer relations, that theyd repair this issue. To be honest, I dont really trust a repair as Ive been told it will happen again and again. There was no notice that the microwave was breaking down either. It wasnt turned on. One day, I went to use it and it just wouldnt work. Actually, I went to use the timer on it and thats how I found out it was dust. My advice is stay away from Maytag. If you read reports, there are more complaints on Maytag than any other appliance manufacturer in existence. Not only on their products, but their customer service too.

Purchased our side-by-side stainless steel refrigerator. After about three months, we too have a constant puddle of water outside the bottom freezer door. Maytag came out for the first year it was under warranty, each time saying it was fixed. Its still not fixed and its been three years. We have to keep a towel next to the fridge constantly and have experienced floor damage. Class action suit? Sign me up!! My Maytag double oven has stopped working, and my Maytag dishwasher does not clean my dishes at all. I will NEVER buy Maytag again.

My husband and I purchase both Maytag Washer and Dryer 7 month ago 2017, because we have purchase Maytag washer before and were very happy with it. But this new Washer does not clean clothes at all, it is worthless. We will not purchase another Maytag Washer again.

Worst washer ever. Wish I had read all these reviews before I bought. I have had the same poor experience. Laundry doesnt even get wet while being washed. Agitation does not affect laundry. Just moves back and forth under laundry. Clothes do not come out clean. Feel I was ripped off.

Turned the oven on, and it failed to light. A little while later, it started leaking gas into the house. Im lucky the house didnt explode!

Maytag Model #MBR2258XES refrigerator purchased May 2014 from Home Depot. Problem #1: Freezing in refrigerator compartment (frozen vegetables). Problem #2: Water leakage on floor from defrost. Wood floor is/has expanded and may now be ruined. This model is now discontinued. Looking into contacting an attorney.

I bought a Maytag Bravos from Home Depot back for around $1000 in Nov. 07. After 3 yrs, the whole tub assembly had to be replaced but I had bought a warranty so that was taken care of but it was out of service for about 2 months while I waited for parts. Now every time I use it, I get the OL on the control panel and it wont spin without getting out of control and stopping. Washers in the past have lasted me at least 15 yrs and cost less than half that much. I will never buy another Maytag ever. This is what happens when companies merge and quality is no longer important. I think the stock market ruins companies. Im currently looking for the best quality, large capacity washer on the market. I will pay more for quality but thats what I thought last time.

Maytag Bravos Washer 300 Quiet Series Model MVWB700VQ0 - Nothing about it is quiet. Worked pretty well the first year. Spin cycle works too well. It twists and rips. The second year it needed a new pump because a dime got into it and cracked the pump. When you wash anything bulky you better sit and watch it because it will almost certainly go off balance. Year three Sd (suds or slow) code started flashing and washer stopped half way through. Not sure why suds because I only use HE Tide, no perfumes or dyes due to my daughters sensitivity. I use Affresh as directed and on schedule. Was told it was a slow drain, found two dimes in the filter and a lot of lint. Still not working and flashing Sd... stops half way, agitator moves left to right doesnt spin. When the diagnostic was performed, the basket spun but when it stopped it made a grinding noise. Now it might be that it needs new bearings! So much for the Maytag reputation. Its junk and I will not be buying another Maytag, Whirlpool, Kenmore or any other product from their affiliates. Not purchasing anything from Sears again either. Also I will be canceling my subscription to Consumer Reports because they highly recommended this product. Shame on Maytag. How do we start a class action suit?

Products spoiling even if set at recommended temperature. Hard to clean bottom freezer. Not happy with this configuration. Had to have repairmen in because of stopped up drain which I could not access to clean myself. Does not close completely at times.

I purchased Maytag refrigerator (model # MSD2572VES). The fridge side stopped working. I was told that the vent/chute between the freezer and fridge ices up and prevents the cold air from the freezer to go through the fridge. The tech said that Maytag was sending him a tube of silicone to apply all around freezer and fridge and that this will probably fix the problem. So in other words, because of a design flaw, the refrigerator cannot function without adding silicone (maybe). I believe I purchased a lemon with a design flaw and they want me to accept a permanent band-aid as the solution. Shouldnt I have right to demand another model instead of having to accept a cheap alternative (silicone)? Now, if factory installed parts break off, can you imagine silicone tubed in after the fact where there was no silicone crevasse? I cant imagine it staying on - permanently.

I had a stroke last year in August and my children got together and bought me a washer. And after the third use this thing started messing up and I had to call in someone. Now the warranty is up and I am sitting here with a new broken down machine.

TRASH! Bad, Destructive, Dangerous. I am in awe of the worthless, destructiveness of this machine. This washing machine does not add enough water to even cover clothing. It agitates, tangles & tears clothing. You end up with dirty filthy tangled clothing. And this is after waiting for it to make some kind of idiot decision as to whether or not to wash your clothes at all. I frequently go out and it’s made a decision not to start at all. There also is no lint filter, so subsequent loads of laundry are dirtier than the first. You can’t wash clothes without enough water to cover them. I read online that it adds water depending on the weight of the clothing, so wet the clothing first to make it think it’s a heavier load. When you do that it spins the clothes first before it begins to wash them. Your clothes still come out of the machine dirty. If you’re looking for revenge, make someone a gift of this washing machine. Otherwise, put it out with the trash.

I purchased a Maytag MDBH979SAB0 dishwasher from Home Depot two weeks ago for around $600. I got it installed and it would not turn on. I contacted Maytag and after a few questions, she stated that they would have to send a repairman. After a few days, the repairman arrived and said hed never seen this model before but that we needed a new control panel. After waiting a week with no work, I called Maytag to get an update. The control panel is out of stock and could be a while - they are trying to find one somewhere around the country. They refused to send a replacement dishwasher, even though this was brand new. Their policy says repair, not replace. Dont take the chance purchasing a Maytag dishwasher.

I will never buy another Maytag appliance. We built our home in 2005 and bought brand new Maytag kitchen appliances (refrigerator, gas oven/stovetop, dishwasher, and hood microwave). In seven years, we have had problem after problem with all four appliances. We had to replace the compressor in the refrigerator in the first 18 months and then the fan in the refrigerator about a year ago. We have had to replace the heating unit in the oven twice and the handle has broken off of the oven door twice. We have had to replace the handle latch on the dishwasher once and today, the microwave stopped working. We are not rough on our appliances (especially the microwave as we rarely use it), so I think the fact that every single Maytag appliance has broken down one to three times in different capacities in the last seven years says it all. We have had a very poor experience with this brand and will definitely never buy another Maytag appliance.

This has the aqua cleaning technology, sounds real good. DOES NOT WORK! The cleaning is done by you as you nearly climb into the oven with a plastic scraper which they supply to scrape prior to the cleaning cycle. Then after you have used the distilled water in the bottom of the oven during the cleaning cycle (steam), you climb back in to wipe out the water and use something similar to a magic eraser to SCRUB the oven.Here is the real kicker....during the cleaning process, in between the glass (in the door) you develop water spots that cannot be cleaned unless you pay to have a service technician come out and tear it a part to clean it. According to Maytag THIS IS NORMAL and is proven (by their engineers without any documentation for the customers to be able to see) to be normal?? The consequence is a brand new stove will never be clean and it is the first thing you see when you come into my house. I AM EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED!!!!

The glass shelves stop 2 1/2 inches from the back of the refrigerator. Things keep falling down in back. I have a counter depth. Cant afford to lose any space. Freezer poorly designed for space compared to one I had before.

OK, Im at wits end. I bought a very expensive Maytag Gemini range four years ago. Since then, I have replaced 10 burner valves. There are only five of them. They have each been replaced twice, and tonight yet another has broken. This time it is broken in the ON position, which means I cant have the range on without that burner on. It means unplugging it when not in use and lighting the burner with a match when I re-plug the stove, until I get it fixed. I had just replaced valve number 10 on Tuesday, and had a fully working range for only 5 days. These valves are under warranty but the labor is not, and it is always close to $200 to have someone come out to replace them. I cant afford a new stove and I cant afford to keep having these defective valves replace.

Maytag is supposed to be the best. I wanted a top loader again. This washer is almost worthless because of the water control. I have to add buckets of water before I start the washer. Otherwise the clothes are not clean. The cycles are strange with the amount of agitation. I will continue looking for an OLD model. DO NOT BUY THIS WASHER.

I purchased this set 7 years ago and the washer started stopping mid-cycle and the dryer sensor doesnt work. I called the Maytag service number and after several phone calls (they had my name spelled incorrectly and the wrong address), was able to schedule an authorized servicer. He said the motor and motor controller needed to be replaced and it would cost over $900. When I said I expected my $1,200 washer to last more than 7 years, the service person informed me that the machines were made by Samsung (not Maytag) and just carried the Maytag label. He said the Maytag Neptune washers and dryers were the reason Maytag went into bankruptcy and was bought out by Whirlpool. I am disappointed Whirlpool/Maytag does not stand behind this product and will not buy this brand again.

We bought a top-loading Maytag washing machine in January 2020, and are very disappointed. Clothes do not come out clean. We called the Maytag call-center and were told that “high efficiency machines are different”. They use much less water to be green, but now I have to wash items several times, negating any energy conservation. This also takes more of my time. If we use the “deep water” option and power cycle, clothes are almost clean; however, it takes 1 hour and 45 minutes per cycle. My 18-year-old Whirlpool washed clothes beautifully in under 45 minutes. This brand-new Maytag is NOT an improvement. We use the correct HE detergent and have tried with warmer water, and all of the different cycles, but still do not get acceptable results. The Maytag washing machine is not effective at the one thing it is designed to do, clean clothes. Our specific model is MVWC565FW1, however the saleperson told us that all models are similar.

We purchased a new Maytag dishwasher for $500 from Home Depot about 1 year ago... it stopped working 4 days ago. I did not get satisfaction from Maytag customer service as they tried to sell me a repair program whilst I was trying to determine if it was under warranty as it is a known problem. I now have a repair person coming out with a price of $189.95 + time. A complete joke of an organization. Lesson? Do NOT purchase any MAYTAG brand. They DO NOT stand by their product. My rating is ZERO STARS, the site forces me to enter a star which is ONE TOO MANY. I will NOT do business with Maytag, Whirpool or any of their brands again.

We purchased a Maytag Top Load 5.4 cu ft efficiency washing machine. May 2019. It was making a funny noise already mid October and we had 8 parts replaced. After that it completely stopped working. We have been without a working washing machine for 2 months now. The technician has been to our house 4 times. When he came on Dec 31st to replace the mother board, that didnt solve the problem. He says the washing machine can not be repaired. We have been fighting with Maytag Canada and Lowes since the beginning of December. Neither company cares. We will never own another Maytag product. The company are crooks.

After 30 months of light use.... two adults in the house, the top of the machine at the ports that allow adding fabric softener and bleach have rusted in a severe way. The machine is rusting away and Maytag customer service will say nothing except, it is out of warranty. I am very sad that I purchased a $719 washer that is falling apart with scant use.... Maytag no longer stands behind the product and I will never buy another one of their appliances again!

Maytag ser5000 washing machine from hell. When called the customer-service stated over the phone there is bearing problem. When the service-man show up, took one look (approx 50 seconds) at the washing machine (which only 4yrs old), stated he is not touching it and not worth to fix it - get this! Due to bearing! Charged me $200 as standard fee. To put salt on the wound, service-name stated: Ive should told the customer-service bearing problem which is very well known by Maytag! Therefore, save my $200. Note, I will NEVER buy Maytag appliances!!!

Model #MFI2670XEM0, Maytag fridge top French doors, bottom freezer. Purchased fridge in May 2011 from Lowes, with a matching microwave. A couple months ago, I noticed puddle of water on wood floor in front of fridge, so I opened freezer to find ice on bottom with a sheet of fresh water on top. Call to Maytag was useless, also tried to sell us warranty. Guess that $300+ warranty would cover one year, so after the warranty runs out, would we have to buy another when it plugs again. Our kitchen floor is ruined, and the warping is coming close to our dining room. Googled problem online to see if there was an easy fix since it was out of warranty. I tried to defrost as described online, only to have it leaking again a couple weeks later. Will never buy a Maytag again. Guess that repairman in commercial is never busy because Maytag wont stand behind their products.

We bought this refrigerator in 1998 and it is still going strong. It has gotten a bit noisy over the years when defrosting, but it works great. It is not as fancy as the freezer over top, but it is large and so is the refrigerator.
